<v Speaker 1>We have a lot of questions, but is the wrong only.
<v Speaker 6>The wrong The only thing is the only thing I've
<v Speaker 6>written down here is I reserved the right to uh,
<v Speaker 6>you know, to plead the Fifth Amendment as I'm I'm
<v Speaker 6>ready to answer. Look, I'm ready to answer everything, you know,
<v Speaker 6>the best I can. I'll be totally transparent. We make decisions,
<v Speaker 6>obviously for a lot of different reasons. Hopefully you guys
<v Speaker 6>will understand where we're coming from. But you know, just

<v Speaker 5>Well, first of all, thank you for coming you're well, Well,
<v Speaker 5>let's let us just say we think these figures look great.
<v Speaker 5>We want these to come out. At no time have
<v Speaker 5>we rooted against the line we want these certainly, not
<v Speaker 5>at all. We want these in hands. But for people
<v Speaker 5>who are just tuning in, maybe for the first time,
<v Speaker 5>or like what's going on here? Can you fill the
<v Speaker 5>fans in on your background with with with action figures,
<v Speaker 5>specifically the the aw A rem call line, Well, I
<v Speaker 5>you know, yeah, I will.
<v Speaker 6>I I've been in the toy business for a long time.
<v Speaker 6>I actually the first action figure I got I got
<v Speaker 6>involved with was Evil Knievel back in the late seven
<v Speaker 6>Oh wow cool yeah, yeah, And from there I spent
<v Speaker 6>twenty years at at Remco and did a ton of
<v Speaker 6>action figures. Uh you know, I mean, I you know,
<v Speaker 6>from superheroes to everything in the you know, pretty much
<v Speaker 6>in a Marble vault, the DC vault. But it was
<v Speaker 6>in nineteen eighty three. I believe that I was sitting
<v Speaker 6>on my couch with my kids watching watching wrestling. It
<v Speaker 6>was like that was kind of our family time. And
<v Speaker 6>I looked at the you know, a week after week,
<v Speaker 6>I'm looking at these guys. I'm getting into it. I'm
<v Speaker 6>getting into the names, I'm getting into the persona. I'm
<v Speaker 6>getting into what's happening on the screen. And I said
<v Speaker 6>to my boys, I said, you know something, these are
<v Speaker 6>real life superheroes. And the next morning I woke over
<v Speaker 6>to the whole thing. The next morning I was on
<v Speaker 6>the phone with Vince McMahon. The following day, I drove
<v Speaker 6>up to Stanford, Connecticut. They were in a very very
<v Speaker 6>tiny office, not what you see now when you drive
<v Speaker 6>up ninety five. I met with I met with Vince
<v Speaker 6>and his wife. There was no receptionist, and I walked
<v Speaker 6>out of there with a deal. And yes I did
<v Speaker 6>pay up front money, okay, and basically Vince and I
<v Speaker 6>had a handshake. Won't go any further than that. We
<v Speaker 6>had a handshake. We started, we started negotiating the contracts
<v Speaker 6>from the standpoint of legal lease. I started or we
<v Speaker 6>started investing money into building our first figure, which of
<v Speaker 6>course was Hulk. And about three or four weeks, maybe
<v Speaker 6>even five weeks, I went up there for a meeting
<v Speaker 6>and I walked into Vince's again, it was just Vince
<v Speaker 6>and I. There was nobody else. The kids, of course,
<v Speaker 6>were kids were babies. So I walk in and Vince
<v Speaker 6>throws a Glub catalog, you know, right on the right
<v Speaker 6>on the table as I walk in, and he says,
<v Speaker 6>do you know these guys? And I said, sure, I said,
<v Speaker 6>David Galoube's a good friend of mine. Have known him
<v Speaker 6>forever since I've been in the toy business. When I
<v Speaker 6>walked out of there, I knew something was up. So
<v Speaker 6>sure enough, about a week week and a half later,
<v Speaker 6>he pulls the contract from us. Glub jumps in. You know,
<v Speaker 6>I'm going to fast forward. Then he pulls the contract
<v Speaker 6>from Glub. Yeah, and LJ and I know Jackie Freeman,
<v Speaker 6>he should rescue Peace. I know Jackie really really well,
<v Speaker 6>and uh, you know, so But what I did was
<v Speaker 6>because it's just my style type of guy that I am.
<v Speaker 6>I said, there was no way that forget the money
<v Speaker 6>we spent on the sample for for Hull. And it was,
<v Speaker 6>by the way, if we could find that sample today,
<v Speaker 6>is there even a photo of it? There might be.
<v Speaker 6>You know, I got photos of a lot, you know,
<v Speaker 6>almost everything I've done. But if we could find that,
<v Speaker 6>that's like the holy grail, because.
<v Speaker 5>That was the first photo, would be a big deal.
<v Speaker 6>That was the first ever anything, you know, in wrestling
<v Speaker 6>and uh and it was done in clay, you know,
<v Speaker 6>you know, none of you know, none of this three
<v Speaker 6>D stuff, none of the digital sculpting and stuff like that.
<v Speaker 6>So anyway, so when I got back, when I got
<v Speaker 6>back to my office, I pulled my team together and
<v Speaker 6>I said, look, l j N's got the WWE, but
<v Speaker 6>we know there's plenty more things going on out there.
<v Speaker 6>So I did my due diligence. I had my team
<v Speaker 6>do my due diligence, and found out that there was
<v Speaker 6>a gentleman who truly was a gentleman. He should also
<v Speaker 6>rest in peace out in out in Minneapolis, and he
<v Speaker 6>named verne Ganye and I flew right out there. I
<v Speaker 6>was out there within twenty four hours and Vernon I
<v Speaker 6>sat down, we hashed out a deal and we from there.
<v Speaker 6>Of course, Greg at that time was you know, he
<v Speaker 6>was he was a wrestler, you know, and but vern
<v Speaker 6>was let me tell you something. They threw away the
<v Speaker 6>mold on this guy. Now, you guys know wrestling better
<v Speaker 6>than I do, and you know what the promoters were like.
<v Speaker 6>But this guy was just you know, I want to
<v Speaker 6>say he was one of the most honest guys I've
<v Speaker 6>ever met. He treated me like a true gentleman. Anything
<v Speaker 6>he told me was straight. And we put together a good,
<v Speaker 6>you know, a good two three four year run. We
<v Speaker 6>know all the problems about the AWA. We know all
<v Speaker 6>the talent that came through the AWA, I mean, and
<v Speaker 6>the list goes on and on. And I met most
<v Speaker 6>of them. I mean I I you know, I met
<v Speaker 6>I mean, you know, Terry Bolt Belia, he used to
<v Speaker 6>come in because he was a friend. He was a
<v Speaker 6>friend of Vern's for sure. And all of these guys,
<v Speaker 6>you know, and you know what Vince did. You know,
<v Speaker 6>Vern basically trained them created their persona, including me and Jene.
<v Speaker 6>You know, you know there you go right there and
<v Speaker 6>all these guys just flowed right through the to the WWE.
<v Speaker 6>WWF have vern been able to hold on to these guys,
<v Speaker 6>you know, the history of wrestling would have been a
<v Speaker 6>lot different. But uh, you know, so we were the
<v Speaker 6>first guy. We were the first fully articulated action figure
<v Speaker 6>in the marketplace. You know, you.
<v Speaker 7>Think those Vince deals fell apart just for dollars and
<v Speaker 7>centsus He's just looking for the best deal.
<v Speaker 5>Or it had something to do with you.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, no, it was dollars and cents. Okay, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>I mean, and I'll tell you we offered him. I
<v Speaker 6>went in there, would have checked the twenty five thousand, okay. Uh,
<v Speaker 6>he took the check, he cashed the check. Of course,
<v Speaker 6>he got the money back. But then then Glubinan offered
<v Speaker 6>him fifty. He took that. Then Jackie went in or
<v Speaker 6>for them one hundred. After Jackie, there was nobody else.
<v Speaker 6>I mean, it was but you know, it got to
<v Speaker 6>it just got to be ridiculous after that. But when
<v Speaker 6>I look back at what we created, you know, I
<v Speaker 6>never really realized, you know, I you know, because I've
<v Speaker 6>done a lot of stuff. I mean, right after that,
<v Speaker 6>I did Karate Kid, you know, and a lot of
<v Speaker 6>other action figures, and uh, but what we've created in
<v Speaker 6>the last forty years and to think that this is
<v Speaker 6>now a multi you know that there's been billions of
<v Speaker 6>dollars that have gone through the consumer's hands from the
<v Speaker 6>standpoint of you know, wrestling figures, and it's still going
<v Speaker 6>on to today. It's it's unbelievable, it really is.
<v Speaker 5>You know. For us, we were born in eighty five,
<v Speaker 5>so we missed that era. Of course, we were able
<v Speaker 5>to go back and watch it, whether it was DVDs
<v Speaker 5>or the WWE network. But those figures, they're iconic. They're
<v Speaker 5>they're iconic figures. I have gotten back. I've gone back
<v Speaker 5>and I've gotten them all. I have every single one.
<v Speaker 5>That's how iconic they are.
<v Speaker 6>And you thought about the Remco figures them, Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>I mean, I mean there's a couple, there's a by
<v Speaker 6>the way, this guy up here, you know, you know
<v Speaker 6>you did that box opening with the.
<v Speaker 5>Belt, Yeah, Rick Martel, Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>That's my son, that's my son on that.
<v Speaker 5>That's great.
<v Speaker 7>Jackson is with his son on the packaging for the
<v Speaker 7>a W Buddies that just came out like last year.
<v Speaker 6>Oh really, yeah, well, we all you know, we all
<v Speaker 6>did it. I mean I had my kids, right, that's cool.
<v Speaker 6>They were in the Royal Rumble we did with uh,
<v Speaker 6>you know back in the day. So but I didn't
<v Speaker 6>save any figures.
<v Speaker 5>Wow, because I have no It was just a job, right.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I didn't think you know, I didn't think of it.
<v Speaker 6>And the only figure that I have that, uh, I
<v Speaker 6>have a Rick Mortel figure autograph, you know, and yeah
<v Speaker 6>it's sitting right, it's sitting right back here. And uh,
<v Speaker 6>I just didn't think of it. You know, we did,
<v Speaker 6>we did we. I even did some w w E
<v Speaker 6>stuff later on, I did rod Hockey. I don't know
<v Speaker 6>if you guys remember that. I took all the figures,
<v Speaker 6>you know, the you know, the the heels and the
<v Speaker 6>faces and you know the baby faces, and you know,
<v Speaker 6>put them all into rod hockey and you know, I
<v Speaker 6>hoke on one side and.
<v Speaker 5>The other I had. I remember that from my childhood. Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Everyone that's still stealed in the box. It's very very
<v Speaker 5>hard to come by now.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I know, don't tell me.
<v Speaker 5>Just the character like pieces sell for decent money.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I mean I made uh it when I first
<v Speaker 6>came out with the wrestlers, I did you know in
<v Speaker 6>some of the boxes, as I you know, as I
<v Speaker 6>changed the iterations around and you know, put different accessories.
<v Speaker 6>I mean I did little you know, the little tiny belts. Now,
<v Speaker 6>these belts were not embellish, it was plastic. It was
<v Speaker 6>you know, Tampa printed. Uh you know, I think I
<v Speaker 6>made them for three or four cents of fifty bucks.
<v Speaker 5>Oh yeah, I mean accessories. Some of the accessories of
<v Speaker 5>the later figures sell for hundreds of dollars, like like
<v Speaker 5>the chic accessories or nor the Barbarian or the Russian.
<v Speaker 5>Their accessories are I don't even have them because now
<v Speaker 5>people they're making like replica, they've been bootlegged.
<v Speaker 6>They're so after yeah, without going into everything, you will
<v Speaker 6>shortly have them.
<v Speaker 5>We have them, are all oh wow, yeah, but okay.
<v Speaker 5>So so you get out of the business and then
<v Speaker 5>when does it all this time passages like holy shit,
<v Speaker 5>like these figures are beloved, Like what happens when what
<v Speaker 5>was Oh my god, people still collect these AWA figures.
<v Speaker 6>What happened was, you know, I was you know, I
<v Speaker 6>didn't get out of the business till twenty eighteen when
<v Speaker 6>I retired. I had my own company, you know, I
<v Speaker 6>sold the company, got out of the business and uh,
<v Speaker 6>you know, and I really was focusing on golf. I mean,
<v Speaker 6>I was just enjoying myself. I lived down, I lived
<v Speaker 6>out in Florida, and so what happened was right around
<v Speaker 6>when to COVID hit twenty. Yeah, yeah, there you go.
<v Speaker 6>And my son, Scott, who's on the box, he discovered this,
<v Speaker 6>you know, this Facebook page aw a remco Oh yeah okay,
<v Speaker 6>and he he said, you know, he said, Dad, you
<v Speaker 6>gotta get you got it. You got to check this out.
<v Speaker 6>So I checked it out. Somehow they found out who
<v Speaker 6>Scott was, and Scott said, well, you guys should really
<v Speaker 6>be talking to my dad. And I didn't realize I
<v Speaker 6>kind of had this semi celebrity status. But let me
<v Speaker 6>put it to this way. When I saw what my
<v Speaker 6>four ninety nine figures were getting, you know, two grandeh,
<v Speaker 6>I immediately picked up the phone. I called Greg and
<v Speaker 6>I said, Greg, we got to get back into business.
<v Speaker 6>And you know, when I told Rage the story, it
<v Speaker 6>took him about maybe forty five seconds to give me
<v Speaker 6>a yes. And that's that's that's how it started. And
<v Speaker 6>we've been you know, plugging along hair for the last
<v Speaker 6>eight or nine months, and things are really starting to happen,
<v Speaker 6>So that kind of that's a quick overview.
<v Speaker 5>Because that style of figures, like you said, the first
<v Speaker 5>articulated wrestling figures, it's so you know, it's so old,
<v Speaker 5>but it's new. It's you know, a company, even w
<v Speaker 5>W they have a line right now called Superstar, essentially
<v Speaker 5>essentially a w A style figures. Even us, we have
<v Speaker 5>our own figures off, you know, because the man, you know.
<v Speaker 6>I'll tell you that's I'll tell you that story too.
<v Speaker 6>I mean, you know, the only way I could get
<v Speaker 6>the only way that I could get into the marketplace
<v Speaker 6>before anybody else was I had to have the tooling
<v Speaker 6>available stuff. Huh yeah, Well I did the Warlords, Okay,
<v Speaker 6>and I did. I did the Warlords, and we also
<v Speaker 6>we got sued. We got sued by Mattel. I mean
<v Speaker 6>this is an I can tell you stories. I can remember.
<v Speaker 6>We got sued by Mattel because they thought we knocked
<v Speaker 6>off he man and masters in the universe. So I
<v Speaker 6>go down with with my attorney, this guy Jesse Rodstein,
<v Speaker 6>who nobody better when it came to trademarks and copyrights
<v Speaker 6>and infringements. So we go down and where there's just
<v Speaker 6>as Sergeant Shriver, one of the Kennedys, was downtown and
<v Speaker 6>we walk in, myself and Jesse. There's twelve. He's sitting
<v Speaker 6>around a table and he and I walk in. We
<v Speaker 6>make our point, and these guys telling us what it's
<v Speaker 6>going to cost. And so Jesse said, sue us, and
<v Speaker 6>they actually wanted. Their position was that they owned that
<v Speaker 6>physique of he they and the judge ruled, make a
<v Speaker 6>long story short, that you can't copyright the human body.
<v Speaker 6>There are certain designs, there are certain patents and things
<v Speaker 6>like that. But anyway, so now I've got now I've
<v Speaker 6>got the wrestlers, and I wanted to get into it quickly.
<v Speaker 6>And all I did at that point just to get
<v Speaker 6>in was I took my warlords. Remember they had cuffs
<v Speaker 6>on their wrists and stuff like that. They had like
<v Speaker 6>they had boots on. They came out of uh, I
<v Speaker 6>don't know, out of the fifteen hundreds. But you know,
<v Speaker 6>we sculpted heads. You know, we really did it right
<v Speaker 6>when we hit it with the you know, with the
<v Speaker 6>ring wear and stuff, because nothing was molded. Everything was clothing,
<v Speaker 6>and we were we were literally in the market. This
<v Speaker 6>that might sound quick, we were in a market. We
<v Speaker 6>did six months. You know, I think we were. I
<v Speaker 6>think we started like maybe in March and we were,
<v Speaker 6>we were on the shelves and maybe September on.
<v Speaker 5>It was quick eighty five, that was Yeah, it.
<v Speaker 6>Was eighty eighty four, eighty five, eighty six somewhere in
<v Speaker 6>that area there. But we got in it quickly, you know,
<v Speaker 6>I mean, times have changed. You can't do that anymore.
<v Speaker 5>No, we know.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I know, I know, you know, and we you know,
<v Speaker 6>we will. I mean, the Remco figures are very special
<v Speaker 6>to me, so I know I'm going but you know
<v Speaker 6>you'll be You'll be seeing those figures from us, you know,
<v Speaker 6>in the future.
<v Speaker 7>So I guess when we yeah, when we first saw
<v Speaker 7>the power Town images, we kind of thought they were
<v Speaker 7>like a hybrid of like a modern day elite and
<v Speaker 7>a Remco. We've since seen other ones that it seems like,
<v Speaker 7>you know, evolution of man.
<v Speaker 5>They've kind of said it.
<v Speaker 6>When you first saw it, you said it a little
<v Speaker 6>bit differently. I think it was a it was either
<v Speaker 6>a marriage between a Remco figure and a and an
<v Speaker 6>all to what happened was our intent was really to
<v Speaker 6>make like a like a retro plus kind of thing,
<v Speaker 6>and we really tried to see if we get hit
<v Speaker 6>something in between, and when we when we did our
<v Speaker 6>first media release, you know, you gotta listen to the consumer,
<v Speaker 6>no matter what it costs you, because it's gonna cost
<v Speaker 6>you more money if you put it out there, especially
<v Speaker 6>if you're in retail. You know, you go brick and mortar.
<v Speaker 6>That stuff doesn't sell, because everything now is doesn't sell.
<v Speaker 6>You know, you send it back. So we listened, We
<v Speaker 6>took everything in, We took a deep breath. We sat
<v Speaker 6>down with our creative director Andy Frank, who by the way,
<v Speaker 6>is still with us. There was some kind of rumor
<v Speaker 6>that he had left. He's a he's an equity partner
<v Speaker 6>and he comes out he comes out at McFarlane. So
<v Speaker 6>this guy's unbelievable. So you know, we said, okay, look,
<v Speaker 6>let's start from the beginning. You know, we know we're
<v Speaker 6>going seven in scale. Know, I want all the heights
<v Speaker 6>to be authentic. I don't want any of the heights
<v Speaker 6>to be the same size.
<v Speaker 5>Uh.
<v Speaker 6>I want thighs, arms, chess pecks, whatever it is, everything different.
<v Speaker 6>And that's what you see now and that's why things
<v Speaker 6>have taken a little bit longer. But you know, better
<v Speaker 6>to take our time to put the right merchandise in
<v Speaker 6>the marketplace, make the make the collector, the fans and
<v Speaker 6>the enthusiasts happy. And I think that's uh, you know
<v Speaker 6>what We've done it. And you know the other thing
<v Speaker 6>is and again, I don't want to, uh you know,
<v Speaker 6>I don't want to bounce around here and take you
<v Speaker 6>guys in the direction you don't want to go. But
<v Speaker 6>I think, what what when Greg and I? When Greg
<v Speaker 6>and I got together, I told Greg how I wanted
<v Speaker 6>to do this. I didn't want to be I didn't
<v Speaker 6>want to be like every other you know. I didn't
<v Speaker 6>want to be like Mattel though obviously we didn't have
<v Speaker 6>the WWEE. I didn't want to be like the eight
<v Speaker 6>w But I wanted to start with the history of
<v Speaker 6>wrestling and uh, you know, and this is why it's
<v Speaker 6>the contract is in some cases which we'll talk about
<v Speaker 6>the way it is. But I wanted to be able
<v Speaker 6>to tell a story. You know, it's no different than
<v Speaker 6>you know, without without Arnold Palmer, you know, golf wouldn't
<v Speaker 6>be what it is today. Well, without gorgeous George and Luthees,
<v Speaker 6>you know, and verne Gane, wrestling would not be what
<v Speaker 6>it is today, and you know we're going back. I
<v Speaker 6>mean the gorgeous George contract took forever. I mean yeah,
<v Speaker 6>but that you know, that's that is like the holy Grail.
<v Speaker 6>So and every wrestler that we've signed, okay, from even
<v Speaker 6>from Magnum Ta who Magnum is a equity partner in
<v Speaker 6>our business along with Greg, He's been absolutely fantastic. And
<v Speaker 6>that's where the whole Wrestlers for wrestlers came from. I mean,
<v Speaker 6>these guys understand the wrestlers. They know what the wrestlers need,
<v Speaker 6>they know how they have to be handled because because
<v Speaker 6>I don't you know, I'm a businessman, I'm a creative guy.
<v Speaker 6>I'm a marketing guy. I'm a sales guy. But every
<v Speaker 6>one of the figures that we will put out there
<v Speaker 6>for the consumer, there's going to be a story behind it.
<v Speaker 6>And uh that's the reason that some of the figures
<v Speaker 6>that we're doing now, like like Kerry van Erik is
<v Speaker 6>an example. He never wore that jacket in the ring. Okay,
<v Speaker 6>I'm sorry that jacket was never done as a figure
<v Speaker 6>on a figure. We're never gonna We're never gonna do
<v Speaker 6>something that's been done, and uh, you know, I mean
<v Speaker 6>even you know we have the rights to uh uh
<v Speaker 6>to Bruiser Broding and uh in my hats off to
<v Speaker 6>Zombie sail Or. I think that you know that that's
<v Speaker 6>a that's a styleized figure. But I'll show you. I'm
<v Speaker 6>going to show you something real quick. I don't know
<v Speaker 6>if you can see it, but yeah, that's a skulp
<v Speaker 6>Why I like that.

<v Speaker 6>the whole uh, you know, the whole Kickstarter thing. It's
<v Speaker 6>really a convenience to us. I mean, we're in a
<v Speaker 6>process right now of developing our website, you know, preparing
<v Speaker 6>a store, and you know, the thing about a Kickstarter
<v Speaker 6>is that it really has nothing to do with our
<v Speaker 6>inability to fund I've been in this business a long time.
<v Speaker 6>I've been very very fortunate. I've been successful. I have
<v Speaker 6>good partners. We' been funding this self funding this thing. Uh,
<v Speaker 6>the money is not an issue. It's just a matter
<v Speaker 6>of what Kickstarter provides us as a new kid on
<v Speaker 6>the block, you know. And uh, it's it's really that simple.
<v Speaker 6>It's not like between you and I. Kickstarters are paying
<v Speaker 6>in the neck. This is not the easiest thing to do,
<v Speaker 6>you know. I mean, it's a lot of things that
<v Speaker 6>go along with it, you know, between preparing your videos

<v Speaker 6>going to take they take ten percent, you know, of

<v Speaker 6>but he's a story unto himself. But we developed a
<v Speaker 6>relationship with Lucky A going back to nineteen eighty one
<v Speaker 6>and they became our factory of record. They are an
<v Speaker 6>incredible partner. They put Todd McFarlane when I say, didn't
<v Speaker 6>put him into business, but they did up until the
<v Speaker 6>time that Todd sold his company to and you know,
<v Speaker 6>don't quote me on the you know, exact but the
<v Speaker 6>stories that I've been told by the people I'm friendly with,
<v Speaker 6>that by Todd's company when he sold the company to
<v Speaker 6>our fifty percent of his company to the Canadians. Okay,
<v Speaker 6>that's when the Canadian partners wanted to go in a
<v Speaker 6>different direction than utilize Lucky A. And if you go
<v Speaker 6>on their website and you see the examples of the
<v Speaker 6>type of figures that they manufactured. See, they own their
<v Speaker 6>own factories and they have just outside of Shen's end,
<v Speaker 6>they have, you know, literally a compound of three different factories,
<v Speaker 6>injection molded, you name it. And we're basically in the
<v Speaker 6>process of setting up you know, have we cut steel. No,
<v Speaker 6>we haven't cut steel because it just saw the figures.
<v Speaker 6>But the timelines that Lucky as presented to us and
<v Speaker 6>the type of special treatment we're going to get to
<v Speaker 6>get this thing off the ground is why we're able
<v Speaker 6>to give you those dates. I mean, we're already lining
