I don't even know. 00:00:28 Speaker 2: But we brought a little bit of everything on SGA day and comcrats to him on his day. He's the man that scores points, he's the man that breaks records. He's the man that dresses like a sasquatch. He wears yettie coats. So we wore our most dripped out things that we could find in our closet. I got some leather, I got some fur I'm a carate cowboy. We got Brainwave, we got prizes to give away, we got stories to tell and brobably, I want to hear all about this outfit. Congrats again to SGA. One hundred and twenty seven games twenty twints or more, which is pretty remarkable when you think about it. Even Michael Jordan, even Lebron had a day with they scored eighteen or sixteen or something. So congratulations to SGA. And by the way, these glasses are killing me because they're my wife's and you know what sunglasses like press into the side of your head. 00:02:12 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sorry, I can't wear these whole shelves. 00:02:14 Speaker 3: Richard was supposed to be out of your closet, not your wife's clothes. 00:02:17 Speaker 2: My wife and I share clothes. What are you talking about? Yeah, they do underwear. I'm kidding. 00:02:21 Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so weird. 00:02:22 Speaker 2: So anyway, we're using this as a day to celebrate SGA and a day to well. There was a program that they did in school when we grew up. It was called there to be Different. It's there to be different today and bust out those things we're a little hesitant to rock on the daily. I got this jacket from All Saints. 00:02:43 Speaker 1: A funny rag about it. It's like a thousand dollars jackets shy. 00:02:46 Speaker 2: So I spent a lot of money on this leather jacket guy, But I never felt bold enough to rock it because I'm like, yeah, you rocket. 00:02:53 Speaker 1: People like, who's this guy think he is? 00:02:54 Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you I think I am Steve Cavino on SGA day, busting it out for the first Actually it's like the second third time I've worn it. But it's sort of like my concert jacket. It's a little Fonsie, little tea birdish Michael, little George, my little faith, Thank you for having faith in me. Sam, Can I just tell you I got the cowboy hat. I just noticed the squirrels on your cowboy head. 00:03:14 Speaker 1: Well I got. I was gonna ask, what's that varmint? You got to bring fur to the game? 00:03:17 Speaker 4: Bro? 00:03:17 Speaker 1: We you mean, I got? 00:03:18 Speaker 2: We mean you know, you know you don't appreciate chippin' doll a bro. They come off like they just come right off chip and doll a bro. I brought the You know why, because I'm bringing a little bit of everything, Like I said, little cowboy, little karate right now, little danger, a little dangerous, some leather, some bling. You noticing in the chains, leather and fur, dude, And you know that's how the NBA guys do it. 00:03:41 Speaker 1: They don't care. They're just bringing their best drip. I that's what we're doing today. Do you have a question on SGA day? 00:03:46 Speaker 2: As I'm rocking the like I said, the rose colored glasses, the furly ascot, a long chain. 00:03:52 Speaker 1: I brought the fur. He brought the fur. Leave big collar. 00:03:55 Speaker 3: You know you look like a pimp from Dallas and rich looks like a pimp from San Francisco. 00:03:59 Speaker 1: You know, you know what I like? 00:04:00 Speaker 3: For real. 00:04:01 Speaker 2: There's a boxer who fights on May second against the Mexican Monster. His name is Gilbert Zerto. Ramirez. Zerto sort of rocks that Mexican cowboy look, and I got the made in Mexico cowboy hat. 00:04:14 Speaker 1: Are you cobaetto Covin? 00:04:15 Speaker 2: I'm Cabato Cavino, but with the you know, dangerous leather jacket. 00:04:19 Speaker 1: Bro I got my NBA drip going. 00:04:21 Speaker 2: So I gotta get ask on SGA Day before we get into World Baseball Classic, before we get into some Tom Brady news and a bunch of NFL. This could arguably one of the best NFL free agencies in a long time. 00:04:35 Speaker 1: We'll get to all. 00:04:36 Speaker 2: That, but I got to ask if you were an NBA or NFL superstar and that was the path that life blessed you with. Yeah, I watched Quarterback? We all did you watch Wide Receiver? A lot of these great documentaries. NBA had some good ones on Netflix. I remember seeing joe Burrow Joey b had a stylist, and I just wonder that if you were that level of fame in a sport, would you try the stylist back, No Cavino, you gotta go with this. I mean sometimes you gotta let people do their job because they know better than you. It's got to be a compromise of what you feel comfortable in, like does that represent you in any way? And you got to also be willing to take those risks and use them as guidance. But you do see you do see NFL players and NBA players for the most part strolling in looking ridiculous, but they're taking chances. And then you'll have like a random quarterback like a Kirk Cousins who has a polo shirt and kakis. Well, you know what, minus de fer if I take chippin'al A off the cowboy hat, if I was going to a cool event or a boxing match, or maybe walking into the NBA arena, I could pull this off a little bit. I feel kind of cool with that good you know. So you gotta be true to you a little bit. But you gotta trust the professionals. And right now we're the radio professionals. And I want to hear about Danny g and Sam's outfit again. As we dove deep into our closet to try to find anything remotely ridiculous us as they do in the NBA. Sam, do you wear that in the summer once in a while? It looks like you got a sleeveless sweater with shorts that match. Is this what people can't see on the Can you back up one second to show people that you have matching shorts? 00:06:13 Speaker 1: Like I mean, so I'll be honest, Yeah, I went. I bought this outfit the other day. 00:06:20 Speaker 5: I got in a place called Buffalo Exchange right down Ventura Bolivar. 00:06:23 Speaker 1: For the studio. 00:06:24 Speaker 5: Of course, it was eighteen dollars and fifty cents. I brought it home. I looked through all my hats and I found this hat that my Gramdma knitted back in the day, and it matches kind. 00:06:31 Speaker 1: Of what's like your grandma knitted the entire outfit. 00:06:34 Speaker 2: She could very well cut a lot of a lot of trips to Joe Hans or Michael's. 00:06:38 Speaker 5: Yes, I love the fic knitter. So I said, you know what, this is actually really comfortable. It's like a knit cotton. So I'll probably wear this at home. Maybe I'll wear to the beach. 00:06:47 Speaker 2: You know, I in that it we uh, we're we're opening up a little bit, and we're we're taking chances. Maybe we do this, uh every once in a while, dude, in honor of the NBA and the ridiculous outfits they wear. 00:06:59 Speaker 3: Yeah, Ricky and I actually made the production for SGA day so that we could play at any time and do it anytime we want. 00:07:07 Speaker 2: Because I guess we're didn't get around because even Mike who runs his place, didn't buyer. People like what's what's the get up for? And I was like, why would you've gut would you have dressed up? And Michael's like, yeah, I'll dress off. I was like, well then you got to do it next time. Mike's like, any excuse to one of my leather traps. 00:07:23 Speaker 6: I just thought SGA stood for the same golf attire, so that so I thought I was atropol. 00:07:30 Speaker 1: That's fine. I love it. I love it. I get it. Danny G. What's the inspro tell us the story. 00:07:35 Speaker 3: Well, I'm sure you're going to be shocked, but I'm a Maui Raider right now. This shirt got in Maui for I don't know, like the tourist cost of twenty seven dollars and fifty cents. Got these Wooden Raider necklaces and beads nice that I used to wear in the tailgating section of Oakland Alameda Coliseum and then the Hawaiian Raider cap. 00:07:53 Speaker 1: Nice. 00:07:54 Speaker 2: Sorry, I love it man, and thank you guys. Hey, when you're going out tonight, maybe uh make a chance and make make it make an impact, get noticed a little bit, and congrats again to SGA, because what he's doing is I can't say under the radar, because that's that's not that's not it. That's not accurate, but not accurate said about like you're you're onto something, but under the radars not the Well we're sports fans, right, so we're very well aware, but I don't think he's reaching the casual fan, the yeah your mom doesn't know, yeah, the yeah right, like household name sort of thing. 00:08:33 Speaker 1: Gah'd be like, who maybe. 00:08:35 Speaker 2: This record, maybe this sort of moment pushes it further. 00:08:38 Speaker 1: I mean, the guy's already a winner. We know that. 00:08:41 Speaker 2: Not trying to take anything away, but we're trying to celebrate his accomplishments and say happy SGA Day to you and congrats again to him. It was fun to see them celebrating last night on a big day, So thank you guys again. Watch what you what you hear on YouTube Covino and Rich FSR. I mean, dare I say they repeat? If case, if the Thunder repeats, would it be like fair is light? I think it would be almost certain that it would be the best unknown team to win back to back championships in any sport. Ever, Yeah, I mean smaller market teams have something to do with me if they if they wont back to back. Yeah, yet, like your aunt Nancy doesn't know the Okac or the Thunder. 00:09:24 Speaker 1: I think that's your answer right there. 00:09:26 Speaker 2: I've speculated this at the barber shop, you know, and we've talked about it. You chop it up at the chop shop, and the sentiment against the Vatos in the Vato community where I was getting my trim up, they're like, yo, to be honest, man, it's kind of like you don't even know how to pronounce his name. 00:09:45 Speaker 1: And I think that's part of it. Is it Shay is a shy? Is it Guildeoss? What was it? 00:09:50 Speaker 2: Gilgeous? Is Shay Gilgos Alexander? But we go with SGA to keep it safe and that's what he goes by. But I also think like because of the there's a lack of familiarity because people are scared to lean into it. And I got that firsthand, so I'm not just assuming. Like when we were talking about it in the barbershop, that's what the dudes were saying. 00:10:10 Speaker 1: We're like, yeah, I don't even know how to say his name. 00:10:12 Speaker 2: There are athletes that we all shy away from. I mean we all say Tua, we all say Yannis, we all say we just. 00:10:19 Speaker 1: Like Travis etn Yeah, yeah, there you go. 00:10:22 Speaker 2: How many UFC dudes and forget about the hockey guys. You know, it doesn't help. I know that's a stupid I'm not saying that's the reason. 00:10:30 Speaker 1: It's part of it. 00:10:31 Speaker 2: It's small market, it's the name, it's you know, you can't say it's as flash but the dude as flashy as it gets. 00:10:38 Speaker 3: It's also the sport because you could make the same argument about Tua's last name. True, but everyone just got used to saying Tua. 00:10:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, including Trump almost, So we give him credit, we give him props. 00:10:49 Speaker 1: And if you don't know, now you know Tua tag oh volleya or something like that. 00:10:57 Speaker 2: So it's Cavino. I'm going down the old town road with my cowboy hat. Today, Rich Davis, what is mister fairly thing going on? Danny g with his crazy Raiders thing. Iowa Sam with his grandma knitted outfits. 00:11:09 Speaker 1: He's got almost like a Waldough, like Waldough on vacation. 00:11:12 Speaker 2: But that's the thing. Everyone does their thing. Everyone has their own drip, the style of sizzling. And we appreciate you hanging out with us. So before we talk Tom Brady and before we get into brainwave, we say, once again, congrats to SGA. Pay close attention to this guy and his outfits. This guy's making history. He's putting up big numbers. And we also say congrats to the United States and Canada because they have advanced in the World Baseball Classic. 00:11:38 Speaker 1: And tonight, man, I know Canada is looking for redemption to night. Tonight is your night bro to Night to Night? 00:11:49 Speaker 2: He went twins, you went, Billy Corgan, I did yeah tonight, Ma, I kind of went to night to Night. Canada goes yeah. 00:12:01 Speaker 1: You could have went that too. 00:12:03 Speaker 2: I think Canada would love a little redemption for US beating them in hockey in the Olympics. 00:12:07 Speaker 1: But I don't know. 00:12:09 Speaker 2: I don't think that's gonna happen the US big favorite tonight in the World Baseball Classic. 00:12:13 Speaker 1: But I ask you this, anything could happen, man, anything could happen. It's anything. 00:12:17 Speaker 2: You know what You're as what as I say, You're only as good as the next day starting pitch. Being that we love Canada, but we won't for two and a half hours tonight. True, I'm pulling a cal Rally tonight. I love our Canadian listeners. I love our Canadian friends for doing our show for as many years as we have. We've made so many Canadian friends throughout the years, no doubt because when we were on Serious XM, there's a lot of subscribers north of the border. Yeah, so we have a lot of friends in Manitoba, Vancouver, Toronto. But tonight, in a peg, tonight, I'm pulling a cal Raleigh, bro. I'm not shaking your hand, not so we're not shacking your hand. But after that we're gonna hug it out again. But here's where we go to you, the Fox Sports Radio Nation. Since we're not shaking Canada's hand tonight, A give us your prediction, how bad are we gonna whoop Canada? And throwing a nice compliment to Canada, because they're known for being very nice. Right, so here, I'll go first, Canada. I think we're gonna whoop your ass ten to two. But my goodness, do I like some Cheesis and Jim Carrey, maybe a little Mike Myers. 00:13:29 Speaker 1: They give us a lot. 00:13:34 Speaker 2: I'm not shaking his hand. I'm not sting any Canadian's hand. You got is it Logan Web versus Soroka tonight? I'm pretty sure it is. As far as starting pitchers probables, But I'll say, you're going down. You gotta get beat. It's America's game. We're not gonna lose in our game the way you lost in your game. America wins. We move on. So sorry, Canada, but thank you for all the great times in Well. We had a great time in Windsor Rich Remember in that strip club we were at, I mean that gentleman's establishment. 00:14:14 Speaker 1: I remember we were in Cheetahs. 00:14:15 Speaker 2: I can remember some beautiful restaurants in the nightlife of Vancouver. 00:14:20 Speaker 3: Beauty in that time. They wouldn't let you guys cross the border. Yeah, I'm trying to forget that time. Got stopped at the board. But I had a great time recently in Toronto. What a great city. I had a wonderful time there. And the underage you know, the drinking age. I don't know what it is now, but it was nineteen. 00:14:35 Speaker 2: It was eighteen at one point in the Montreal in the Quebec area, So growing up on the East coast, that wasn't like that bad of a drive to go there and party and drink underage, but not underage, just different rules there. 00:14:50 Speaker 1: So thank you for all the good times and for all the the bats. 00:14:54 Speaker 2: And listen when I went to when I went to Sarah Moose Heads to Syracuse, that was a that was a college trip because you go on the other side of the border exactly, you're in Canada and you go to Niagara Falls and you could drink on the Canadian side. I remember they had poutine at McDonald's. They had their gravy cheese fries at McDonald's and I'm like, man, they lean in even at the fast food place. So so thank you for poutine. Hey, Timmy Horton's. I will say, good donut chop, good coffee. Josh Naylor, the Naylor brothers, they're great and all, but tonight I hope they all strike out. I don't like their faces. I'm gonna be a little rude about it right now, but I do like Jim Carrey, so thank you. 00:15:34 Speaker 7: Ka. 00:15:36 Speaker 2: What about your love of Slein Dion Ballots, Uh No, you know I've never been a sleeen yet. 00:15:40 Speaker 1: What about our Lady Piece? I'm glad that. 00:15:43 Speaker 4: Okay, here you go. 00:15:44 Speaker 2: So again, as we say you're going down like James Brown and we wish you nothing but bad luck tonight, I will say that I do like Nickelback. I know they get unnecessary hate. I like Nickelback a lot. I like Three Days Grace. I think they're really under and as they say, it's never too late, it's it's definitely too late for you Canada. I'm sorry, and I do like our Lady Piece. Rich If you're a nineties rock guy, Superman's Dead is one of my jams. But I'll tell you what Canada is dead tonight. You guys are dead tonight. So I like your music. I forget Rush, I like your. 00:16:18 Speaker 1: You know what. 00:16:18 Speaker 2: I don't like Rush Hey, screw you, but. 00:16:21 Speaker 1: But I'm with you. 00:16:23 Speaker 2: But I do like Canadian bands. I'm convinced people that I'm kind of like tragically hippy either I'm convincing people like Rush are pretending. Yeah, I'm not a big fan. Their music leader incredible. 00:16:33 Speaker 1: I like them. 00:16:34 Speaker 2: I just feel like if you like Rush and you like really like them, you're faking it. You're faking the funk like you just you're saying you like them. 00:16:41 Speaker 1: But I do. I really do like Nickelback, I really. 00:16:44 Speaker 2: Who loves cheese, Pop's grace and I do like Our Lady. 00:16:49 Speaker 1: Justin Bieber has some good songs like like the be. 00:16:52 Speaker 3: I was gonna say thank you to Canada for John Candy. Ohok, you so much. Glacier National Park. Add that to your your bucket list if you've never been there. That's a good one. And thank you for Stanley Park in the great city of Vancouver. Vancouver doesn't get spoken enough about. 00:17:08 Speaker 1: No, No, you're right. 00:17:09 Speaker 2: When we've been to Vancouver, I always come back saying when people talk about Canada, I say Vancouver. Toronto's beautiful and clean. I feel like Toronto reminds me of New York. I would say Toronto is like New York. If company were to come over, you know you straightened up a little bit. Yeah, Toronto feels like New York. If they cleaned up a little bit. I like Toronto, Vancouver. Vancouver is the oh it's Toronto feels more more international to me though, I felt like I was a bit more foreign than New York Rich I did. I was there recently and I was sort of I was trying to take it in. I had a wonderful time. So believe us, I'm. 00:17:41 Speaker 1: Going in Toronto. 00:17:43 Speaker 2: We we really have a strong bond with our Canadian listeners and our Canadian friends, and we love going to Canada if and when we can. But tonight, I hope you slip on some maple syrup. So yeah, tonight, we hope you's on maple syrup. Thanks again for Mike Myers. Okay, so thanks again for all the all the Austin Powers movies. I'm a big Wayne Campbell guy, so thank you for Mike Myers. He's a treasure. But aside from Matt, we hope you lose tonight. So a little uh little, a little bit of compliments, a little bit you're going down. Hey, uh what do you think about it? Consummate professional Dan Byer any uh anything from Canada. 00:18:22 Speaker 1: You're a fan of TV movies. 00:18:23 Speaker 6: Absolutely absolutely, And I know this may not resonate with you guys. But uh my second favorite all time handyman behind Tom Silva of This Old House, the legendary Mike Holmes, a variety of Canadian television shows that come to the United States maybe a year or so later. So thank you very much Canada for Mike Holmes. 00:18:44 Speaker 1: And Robin Chabotsky on How I Met Your Mother? Robin? Oh yeah, for character from Canada. Who else? Oh Canada? 00:18:51 Speaker 2: Didn't they when we had MTV they had much music? Oh you know what, I actually got one this shout out to much music. I used to ride with a vending machine repairman. This the true story. My dad worked in a vending business. Right, So I say this and I mean it. I know it sounds silly, but thank you for the Canada dry It's my favorite, it really is. I don't want no sweeps. I don't want no sweps, I don't want no seagrums. I want me some Canada dry ginger ale. Thank you so much for that. It's always my go to professional even when I have a belly ache. I love Canada dry ginger al salteams in Canada dry. Yeah, I love Canada. There we go, stroking Canada. A little bit because the reality is tonight we're gonna whoop their ass. 00:19:28 Speaker 1: We have to do. 00:19:28 Speaker 2: We got to see ourselves. Man, Honestly, it's embarrassing. And there's more to this. I want to look this up, Danny G I need your help too. We got to look up the ratings because every time, you know, with all the games that have been going on, I keep seeing different updates about how the ratings are through the roof. 00:19:44 Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, and I think aw some. 00:19:46 Speaker 3: Recent numbers that six million, around six million. 00:19:49 Speaker 1: We're tuned in for the last round. To dude, it's incredible. 00:19:52 Speaker 2: You're like, oh wait, because there's a feeling of am I the only one that's caring this much about it? 00:19:57 Speaker 6: Right? 00:19:57 Speaker 3: And those numbers are equivalent to like NBA playoffs, And. 00:20:00 Speaker 2: You're seeing these ridiculous numbers when it comes to ratings and all these games, all the people turning out watching them, and I'm thinking tonight is gonna be a big ratings game. USA Canada. We just had that hockey rivalry. It's a nice fun one, right, you know a lot of these players. So I'm wondering, and I haven't seen much speculation on this, so I'm throwing it out there here on Fox Sports Radio. Let us be the first CNR on FSR with the ratings showing to be positive. Yeah, in a way where I think they didn't expect it. They're saying, like Fox Sports hit a home runs the ratings and everything. 00:20:38 Speaker 1: I just looked at the monitor. You look insanely ridiculous, but you don't look bad. 00:20:43 Speaker 2: I just I'm like, I forgot for a second that you're wearing a cowboy hat and a leather dragon. 00:20:48 Speaker 1: And look how many chains? I got it? 00:20:50 Speaker 7: Right? 00:20:50 Speaker 1: Like seven chains? Like who's that got the mid errors? 00:20:52 Speaker 7: That? 00:20:53 Speaker 1: Oh that minor league dude? I got spring training that was wearing ten chains and mid errors. 00:20:58 Speaker 2: Are we gonna get a momentum once the MLB season starts, because you know, we got the WBC this year and fans and teams and players are excited about it. Does that momentum carry over? I'm excited for that because you know, gameplay is different than like spring training just going through the motions. These guys are really playing hard. And number two, because the ratings are doing so well and ratings are so high, does the MLB then say, you know what, guys, we got to unbutton a little bit and let these players do what they do well. I think when you see Team Italy having their cappuccino espresso machine, they're not hurting and in the Dominican Republic is flipping bats. And even the respect you see between some of the Venezuela and dr practically humping each other. They're so in love, but they're they're showing such a mutual respect, but also show moting. 00:21:51 Speaker 1: I think MLB, let's just say this. They're taking notes. How could they? 00:21:55 Speaker 2: Yes, without a doubt note? But do they band at all? You know what I mean? Do they say? You know what, guys, Hey Tatis, flip the bad as high as you want, Soto, do your dance, move the shuffle, do the shuffle all the way to first base, around the bases. In fact, hey, past Quantino, you know, bring the espresso machine, do your thing. Does MLB loosen up a little bit as a result, because I'm telling you, the reason the ratings are what they are is because fun. They're having fun, and that's contagious. We want to have fun with them as exciting for us as the fans. You know what, when you look at the bracket, if people are casually watching let me break it down for you today. Today there's two games three point thirty out here on the West coast, so six thirty Eastern, and then later on tonight at eight o'clock eastern, you have Korea and the DR and then so USA and Canada. So realistically, anyone could win. But you could be looking at dude every game, so farre millions tune in it. You could be looking at Dominican Republic against the United States. And on the other side of the bracket you got Japan and Venezuela, which is really tough too. But let's say Japan wins, and then the other one Italy who's hot versus Puerto Rico. I hate everything about you three Days Grace style, because I do love three d's grace. 00:29:01 Speaker 1: All right, So we'll take a phone call. You're gonna step on their ketchup chips? Yeah, I might. 00:29:05 Speaker 2: Let's take your phone coffee crisps. You said you're gonna shove them. Oh and by the way, oh yeah, I got a bone to pick with you since we're gonna vent a little bit if smarties there, But they're not the smarties we know. They're like Eminem's they call them smart aren't smarties. Those aren't smarties. You and your want to be smarties. 00:29:21 Speaker 1: Smarties a different. 00:29:23 Speaker 2: So anyway, we'll take your phone calls on what to expect tonight. I expect the USA to really turn it up. Next level. And I really hope that the MLB is taking notes, as Rich put it, and we carry over some of the excitement towards the season. But we're gonna talk Tom Brady next. But let's wrap up these phone calls. Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. I RIGHTD say hi to our budd Trip in Vegas. Hey Trip, Hey Trip. 00:29:46 Speaker 4: What's going on? 00:29:47 Speaker 7: Gentlemen? 00:29:47 Speaker 4: Looking great? Cavino, I think uh Rich misunderstood is find something in the closet, not come out of the closet. And as far as as far as the baseball game goes, we're going twelve three USA. Three things I love about Canada. Okay, not in any order, Crown, Royal Reserve, Wayne Gretzky and Prime, Pam Anderson. 00:30:11 Speaker 1: Gretzky and Crown really good one. See that's the truth. Though. 00:30:16 Speaker 2: The truth is we love Canada and we love Canadian things, so we do embrace you. But tonight we got to pull a count rally. As we said earlier, you know, in this spirit of competition, as they said, I'm not loving you right now. You brought up an interesting point where it's like, Yo, of course, MLB, we know they're taking notes at the d I have to be at Italy at these teams bringing excitement. But it all makes sense when I tell you what I'm about to tell you. Okay, my kids play pony ball. I played literally grown up. Do you know what's in the mix? Now get this, As Timmy Nobriks would say, banana Ball has started the youth league, and they're gonna start doing like the Savanna Bananas. 00:30:59 Speaker 1: I mean, like trick play, but. 00:31:00 Speaker 2: They're they're gonna be doing their own light version of like I guess, traveling baseball leagues for kids. 00:31:04 Speaker 1: And stuff, so like making it well. Yeah, when you when you talk about baseball and how it's fun. 00:31:10 Speaker 2: They're gonna teach kids how to bat flip. I just say it and then backflip. Who knows, I'll really I want to look up more beat its man. I would never underestimate what they're doing because they've not enough kids to know how to use stilts. So you know the picture on stilts stilt games. 00:31:25 Speaker 1: Yeah. Still, I feel like you would sign up for banana ball if you were a kid. Stilt me up. Yeah. 00:31:30 Speaker 2: Youth Banana Ball brings the high energy, entertainment focused rules of the Savanta Badadas to kids focusing on fun dancing and fast paced gameplay. Okay, so get this, guys, Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. I want to get to all your phone calls. Okay, So everybody, Hank Tight eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox will take your phone calls and then we'll talk some Tom Brady down for that. But let's uh talk to our pal dB Dan Bye d'st. 00:31:56 Speaker 1: Updates guys right now. 00:31:58 Speaker 6: In the SEC Tournament quarter finals, Tennessee upon Vanderbilt forty five to forty three, with about thirteen and a half to go in that contest, make it forty six forty three in favor of the volunteers. Florida be Kentucky earlier today seventy one sixty three, so the Gators are awaiting the winner of this one. Michigan beat Ohio State in the Big Ten quarterfinals seventy one to sixty seven. Next up for the Wolverines Wisconsin. They got past Illinois in overtime, ninety one to eighty eight. Cincinnati fired men's basketball coach Wes Miller today after five seasons. Providence dismissed head coach Kim English after three seasons. Kansas State is named Belmont's Casey Alexander as case State's new men's basketball coach. Saint Louis gave head coach Josh Shertz a contract extension. Then the Billikins top George Washington in the eight ten quarters eighty eight to eighty one. Just getting underway on Fox at Saint John's and Seaton Hall in the Big East A semi finals. After that will be the World Baseball Classic matchup between the United States and Canada. 00:32:57 Speaker 1: Formula one will. 00:32:58 Speaker 6: Reportedly cancel races scheduled month for Bahrain and Saudi Arabia because of the war in the Middle East. Titans released corners Lagerias Sneid, Dolphins and former Cowboys wide receiver Jalen Tolbert, and the Ravens restructure of the contract of quarterback Lamar Jackson, while the Falcons made the signing of Tua Tongue of Iloa. Official General manager Ian Cunningham said today that right now there is no starting quarterback as Tua and Michael Beennix Junior will battle for the starting job. Finally, a golf, Ludwig Goldberg's been on fire currently at eleven under power, leading the players champion Hid one jot better than Xander Schoffley aberg Oberg excuse me, is eight under Parthur his round through fourteen holes. Cameron Young is two shots back. Projected cut right now is sitting at plus two. It's good news for Scotti Scheffler he's even par through thirteen and Rory McElroy who's done after finishing at plus one through thirty six holes. 00:33:49 Speaker 1: Guys, back to you, Thank you. 00:33:51 Speaker 2: Dann Bayer and I did see a little bit more about that sandfire with the same golf attire here it is. 00:33:57 Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I love it. 00:34:00 Speaker 2: Said baseball take note of all the fun right and we said Savannah Banana is a big deal banana ball for kids. It's expanding more this year at nine you to twelve U divisions. They're gonna have camps this summer and they're gonna be doing like touring tournaments with the same banana rules to a time limit, no bunting of a fan or a parent catches the ball. It's an out, like they're making just an alternate two pony ball and little League. Just to show you that baseball is such an amazing sport. We got to remember the fun of it and the world Baseball classic is putting that on display. MLB taking notes. Two quick phone calls and we'll wrap it up. Who do we got, Jerome and Charleston. Jerome, what's up? 00:34:40 Speaker 7: Man? 00:34:40 Speaker 1: Can you know? Rich? 00:34:41 Speaker 7: I think the World Baseball class it is a bunch of bull crap because you got these players that come to this country, make all this money and then they go back to Italy and all these other countries and use all the secrets to gay Land and the success from this country. 00:34:58 Speaker 4: To beat you. 00:35:00 Speaker 3: This is like a political statement. Wait wait, he brought Italy into this. Italy has players that couldn't make the American squad. 00:35:07 Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. 00:35:08 Speaker 3: US squad was too stacked. They didn't go to Italy. We are we are. 00:35:13 Speaker 1: A melting pot. 00:35:14 Speaker 2: And this is a chance for a lot of Italian Americans to, you know, uh, sort of pay tribute to their ancestors where they're from and enjoy their heritage and represent their heritage. 00:35:25 Speaker 1: I don't. 00:35:26 Speaker 2: But at the same time, there's so many players that aren't US citizens. Do you think all the dudes on the Dominican team are US citizens? 00:35:32 Speaker 1: They're not. Yeah, and Jerome I think that, Uh. 00:35:36 Speaker 2: I don't think anyone that's like I'm gonna go play for Team Italy is a knock at the US. I think again, it's their heritage, their families from there. Or like Carino said, like like a guy like Guan Soto, it's the Dominican guy like that bothers you that he plays. 00:35:49 Speaker 1: With the d R. 00:35:50 Speaker 2: It's an international game, and you know, I don't mind the comment. Actually I do appreciate it because it gives a different perspective. It's a different perspective, and I read a lot of that on social media, right, So this gives us a chance to at least address it. It's an international game. It's just like the NFL is trying to expand baseball's been doing that. What would MLB be without our Latino players and our Italian players. 00:36:13 Speaker 1: And Asian players and Asian Oh my goodness, right, I. 00:36:16 Speaker 2: Mean Tommy and Yamamoto alone, what they brought to the mlbase In a way, Korea, even though it's a tournament, is in a way a true world series. And it's very cool to see me wrap it up in Lake Tahoe with Ted. Hey, Ted, Hey, Ted, what's up buddy? 00:36:31 Speaker 7: Yo? Yo? 00:36:32 Speaker 1: Hey? 00:36:32 Speaker 4: Hey man Hey? Great great answer to that last caller and I will add to that that you know, she could have said the same thing about women's soccer here in America or hockey here in America, you know, taken from another country that started a sport. But the great answer on your part. Also you already brought up the banana ball, you know, adding to the note taking MLB should be doing. But I was going to comment, so you know, I don't need to comment on that, but I was going to comment on the ratios you were talking about the surprise you know, Baseball Classic. I'm also noticing because I watched, like the highlights that only get a chance to sit down and watch games. I'm also enjoying watching. I'm really glad the networks and the leagues have been doing the highlight meals on YouTube because it allows me to see more World Baseball Classics. But also other things like, oh, I don't know, and this is a drop in the bucket compared ratings, I'm sure, but like the women's international basketball it's being played right now, it's pretty sweet, you know, and other things in addition to that, and the rivalries that are and so I think there's ratings. I think there are good ratings. 00:37:35 Speaker 1: Again, Yeah, no doubt. 00:37:37 Speaker 2: I think I think baseball is doing just okay. I just hate that after the season there could be a stoppage. So let's really have a great baseball season. Take notes. And we're less than two weeks away from opening day. As I said, World Baseball Classic a very tasty appetizer to the MLB season. All right, So we got more Kavino and Rich and a story about Tom Brady plus Brainwave. Interestingly enough, did you see the Mets pitcher? And I know you can say, oh, you Mets, you may have seen it. There was a guy that had pitched in spring training. Yeah, and every time he struck someone out, he was doing theatrics on the mound like a dance and stuff. Did you see this guy he's spin around after a strikeout? Man and people like, I don't know, bring the fun to baseball, Banana balls working, world baseball classics working. 00:41:38 Speaker 1: And these things. 00:41:39 Speaker 2: I know every game has averaged over more than three million viewers. I've seen up to six million during certain games. Like it's crazy the numbers that they're pulling in, and I think it's up like a crazy amount. 00:41:50 Speaker 1: Yeah, the numbers you're talking about, we're. 00:41:52 Speaker 2: Talking about US, Brazil, US Great Britain, US Mexico, all in that mid five to six million range, but ship across the board up one hundred and forty two percent over twenty twenty three. 00:42:03 Speaker 3: And Richard says the best showing ever for Team USA pool play games up one hundred and eighty three percent from the four game average in twenty twenty three. 00:42:12 Speaker 1: Dude, that's insane. You know what else is shows two. If you build it, they will come. The big ones. Things don't happen overnight. 00:42:18 Speaker 2: The big tournament started twenty years ago, twenty twenty three Japan US. That was the Mike Trout striking out against Otani. That was the big one. Yeah, and that had four point five million and five million across all platforms. So that was the championship final game Trout Otani. And you know games now are are doing better, so I'd only imagine you might get ten plus million if it's like usdr US Japan. 00:42:46 Speaker 1: So World Baseball Classic props to you.
