[SPEAKER_01]: Today, on misunderstood with Rachel, you could tell.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's illegal affairs now, and it's Hollywood's hottest scandal act as Blake Liveley in Justin Belldonny, going head to head in the court of public opinion and in actual court.
[SPEAKER_01]: You are one of the creators that has been subpoenaed by Blake Liveley.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's for her to say that I am somehow acting on behalf of someone as a joke.
[SPEAKER_01]: So are you kind of banding together with the other creators?
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we also talk to each other.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think in total, that's somewhere around forty-two, forty-three.
[SPEAKER_01]: Boobs, don't know if that's not what we would know.
[SPEAKER_00]: Popcorn planet and the bullseye.
[SPEAKER_00]: Perez and Candace Owens got separate subpoenas.
[SPEAKER_01]: What did your personal opinion about how media covers the story?
[SPEAKER_00]: It makes me question, like where I get my information.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't trust it anymore.
[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, so what's the next step?
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're gonna drag me into your litigation, I'm gonna say what I have to say, and I'm gonna do it really loudly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you just want someone to break down the drama for you.
[SPEAKER_01]: The court cases, the celebrity scandals, the viral Reddit threads.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't have to dig through it all yourself.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly what this episode is for.
[SPEAKER_01]: Today we're joined by someone who's quickly becoming that go-to person.
[SPEAKER_01]: Lauren, Nigdy, a name you might not have known a year ago, and maybe not even as much today, but she's risen from relative obscurity to one of the most relevant content creators.
[SPEAKER_01]: In the gossip space, why?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because she doesn't just post commentary, she gets pulled into the stories themselves.
[SPEAKER_01]: Case in point, she was literally subpoenaed this week by Blake Lively's legal team over the content she posted online.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you heard that right, and she's here to tell us everything, what happened, how she got involved, and where that wild saga stands now.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not all.
[SPEAKER_01]: Lauren is also breaking down the latest developments in the Laura Owens case.
[SPEAKER_01]: The woman accused of faking pregnancies with multiple men, one of which being from the Bachelor universe whose legal issues are only getting more bizarre by the week.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, if you've been hearing bits and pieces of these stories online and want someone to put the puzzle together, this is your episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: Lauren dishes, decodes, and delivers the facts that we don't have to scroll for hours.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's gossip, it's legal drama, it's internet chaos, and it's all right here on misunderstood.
[SPEAKER_01]: Lauren, thank you so much for joining me today on Misunderstood.
[SPEAKER_01]: How are you?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for having me.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's cool to finally be on the show.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've watched your show for a little bit now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So where are you?
[SPEAKER_01]: Where do you live?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm in Florida around Jacksonville, area.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh nice, okay, I'm in the Palm Beach area, so we're not too far.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you have become quite the little celebrity on your own, and I want to congratulate you because you are one of the creators that has been subpoenaed by Blake Liveley.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to say that that is a huge feat, and you must be very proud of yourself.
[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, it was not on purpose.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was not expecting it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really know how to feel about it still, but you know, I'm kind of kind of just going with it at this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was at first pretty shocked, but now it's kind of like, well, I have an opportunity to kind of speak up for myself and a lot of other people who haven't had a chance to do that now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to hear all about that, but I'm actually very curious about you.
[SPEAKER_01]: So can you tell people who you are?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think you just started your accounts within the last couple of years, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I started my accounts with the intention of like playing games with my family and like making funny clips.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that was what I want to say like December of twenty twenty three.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's been like a year and a half maybe.
[SPEAKER_01]: You nailed it, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty much, you're quick-lash.
[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then so how all of a sudden did a translate into you talking about Gaza?
[SPEAKER_00]: So I used to follow the bachelor pretty closely.
[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't watched the last couple seasons, but I was reading the subreddits for the bachelor.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I saw a case about this lady, her name is Laura Owens.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it was so crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: She was accusing one of the former leads Clayton, who's now a friend of mine, of impregnating her with wins.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I just saw that way he was getting piled on.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the way like this guy Dave Neill, another podcast, I don't know if you know him, was reporting on it, was getting piled on.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, you know what, somebody should say something about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I just kind of went out and made a video and went from there.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I didn't think anyone was going to watch this, but okay, I guess we can keep talking about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And at the time, how many followers did you have?
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh God, like, listen, hundreds.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was like your family and your immediate coworkers.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder if my family was following me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure.
[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, and then, but when did it start to take traction?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, people just started to follow you and forward your stuff and all of a sudden you gain followers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what happened?
[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty much, I mean, Dave found me when I made the video because he was pretty much the only person covering that dancer fake paternity case.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he had me on a show one time and then that's how a lot of people found me and then I just kept going from there.
[SPEAKER_00]: We stayed there.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then for people that don't know about it, I mean, you brought it up to me before we started and I looked it up.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's an insane case and it is still going on.
[SPEAKER_01]: So can you, can you give us the rundown on like the backstory of that?
[SPEAKER_00]: So she, uh, there was this guy Clayton Eckard was one of the recent bachelor leads, uh, would have been the last few seasons or so.
[SPEAKER_00]: And she was, you know, a real estate client of his, they hooked up one night after he was on the show, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they hooked up one night, um, no actual, like, intercourse or anything like that happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: But then she decides she's going to say that he impregnated with twins.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, did he have to come out and like say we didn't have sex, but like she gave me a blowjob.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he did.
[SPEAKER_00]: He definitely had to say it's embarrassing.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure for him, but, you know, he's been a champ for the whole thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So she accused someone who had never had sex with her, of impregnating her.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what I read and I correct me if I'm wrong, she stole essentially her sisters, um, ultrasound photos who was having a baby, not twins, but a baby.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then somehow made it look like there was twins in there and said.
[SPEAKER_01]: What, what I didn't understand as first of all has her sister ever come out and commented about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Her sister has been very private, hasn't really said anything at all now.
[SPEAKER_00]: She'll probably have to at this point now that there's a criminal's trial, but that'll be for testimony and stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: But as far as social media and just speaking on general now,
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So how did it get to anything that the courts or criminal, the system had to get involved with, because she only claimed something when she said she was pregnant, usually you go after a man and after you have the baby, say it's yours, she says no, it's not.
[SPEAKER_01]: You demand a paternity test and then you ask for child support.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like how did it all get escalated to even before she had fake babies?
[SPEAKER_00]: So the fake baby thing it turns out goes back quite a while.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's been doing this for like ten years or so to four or five different guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: Three of them are now known publicly.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he got connected with them before their family court case.
[SPEAKER_00]: They actually did do paternity tests, which came back little to no fetal DNA, which I guess the testing company they can't say
[SPEAKER_00]: you're not pregnant because that's not their job, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: They couldn't say you're not the father, I guess, but they can't say you're not pregnant.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they said we can't determine this because there's little to no fetal DNA.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they did it a couple times.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're a multiple pregnancy test that came back like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so the family court, she proceeded in the family court insisting that she wasn't fact pregnant for some reason.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just kind of escalated from there.
[SPEAKER_00]: So
[SPEAKER_01]: but was this a woman that was just like her ego is so bruised because this guy didn't want to date her and she wanted to ruin his life like what is the impetus for something like this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah definitely she seems to use the court as a means to punish men who don't want to date her that guys she's either you know hooked up with one time and didn't want to date her or guys who didn't want to commit to her you know anything like that but she
[SPEAKER_00]: She's just so, so while it seems like she's never been told no in her life and she only knows how to like push back on people who don't give her what she wants until like they break almost.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, like, does she have, does she have a job?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, is she being, you know, in the media like, what's happening with her?
[SPEAKER_00]: No, she doesn't have a job.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what she's doing over there other than faking pregnancies, but it's an elaborate scheme.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure it takes you know full-time hours.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's over there drawn up dating contracts for these guys and trying to make them sign it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I heard that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I heard that the interview that he gave really briefly.
[SPEAKER_01]: What is a dating contract?
[SPEAKER_00]: So she tried to make him agree to date her for a certain period of time to see if it could work.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I, the finer details of it are escaping me at this point, but she basically wanted him to do that and then said he would be off the hook if it didn't work out, which we all know is not true.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it was like, she was saying, like, you need to do this or that and exchange for, I'll get an abortion of these fake babies.
[SPEAKER_00]: And if you don't, then I'm going to have the babies.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it was, you know, just being, I'm probably probably missing some crazy stuff in there, but so much has happened that I just forget the small things, you know?
[SPEAKER_01]: But so he, if he knew he didn't have sex with her, why did he even think that this was the thing?
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, she did some elaborate gas lighting.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then also she seemed crazy enough to be the kind of person who like, you know, she didn't,
[SPEAKER_00]: how graphic do we want to be here?
[SPEAKER_00]: She didn't swallow, I guess, and so she could have gone to the bathroom and like, you know, disseminated herself.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like that level of crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she's that kind of crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my God.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder, you should have a scientist on your show or a doctor and find out if that's actually a possibility.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, doctors who have comments on these videos and stuff like that, not just mine, but Dave's mostly because he was the primary person covering this.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's had people coming and saying like this or that, it's like not a thing, you know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_00]: But they did find somebody to testify at the family court trial.
[SPEAKER_00]: Some doctor, some retired doctor, his name was Dr. Medichill, who cut two came in and basically said, oh, we could totally be possible.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I was like, you just, wow, any reputation you had before you retired is gone.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it sounds like the judge was on to her.
[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, he, he passed the paternity test.
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously they found out it wasn't his.
[SPEAKER_01]: And she continued on saying that it, she was pregnant blah, blah, blah, then she said she had a miscarriage.
[SPEAKER_01]: But so now the court, or she was indicted, right, by a grand jury.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like five different counts.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know off the top of your head?
[SPEAKER_00]: Seven.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, seven.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wish I could remember.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know it's like fraud and related stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember exactly what it was like.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so it was like fraud all these different things that she and so now on August the left and she's due back in trial and she still you know I saw something that he said like listen if she was just admitted and be like I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm embarrassed like I should never have done this like they wouldn't have a problem kind of dropping it but now it's like out of these guys hands it's more like the state is like oh, this is this is for autumn.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're not gonna let her get away with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So now she's kind of screwed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, the judge and the family court case after the after she changed her story on the day of trial on the stand referred her to the day or the county attorney.
[SPEAKER_00]: I guess they call it there for charges and and they decided to to go up on that because you've been doing this for a long time.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's technically she's like a first time a fender because she's never been, you know, charged with any of this stuff, but she's been doing it for so long.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh my god.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if there's like a ring of girls that's like, you know, I hate to say this.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're mostly Russian, you know, these girls that go around and they're probably like trying to steal men's sperm and do something with it and pregnant themselves.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe that's a thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just made, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I, I'm gonna have to look into that and see what we need.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think you can uncover some like scandal that's going on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cause you know, you always hear these stories where I, you're my guy friends.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, I'm going out with the hottest girl, Svetlana, who's like, oh my god, I'm just from Russia.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, oh, this is gonna be a real problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, it always ends up to be some crazy story.
[SPEAKER_01]: My grandfather, Thadnote, died when he was like, eighty two.
[SPEAKER_01]: He had a twenty six year old Russian girlfriend.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: When he died, had on a cocktail napkin, a new form of the will.
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, left everything to her cocktail napkin.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a real story because they lived in Las Vegas.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he lived with her.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he had brought over her brother and her cousin, another guy, and a young child.
[SPEAKER_01]: The child was, I think, four.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was her brother and her brother's child.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know where the woman was.
[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't know where the woman was and then the uncle.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, so my grandfather bought the next doorhouse for them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Her grandfather dies.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yana says everything's hers.
[SPEAKER_01]: My, you know, grandmother, they had been divorced, fought her and core.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, she loses long story short.
[SPEAKER_01]: We find it out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yana.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was not Yana's brother.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was Yana's husband and the baby.
[SPEAKER_01]: I swear to God, this is, I've never even told the story because I forgot about it until right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was my brother and I laugh about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But our family is from Russia, but we're like, Russians are fucking crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, well, now I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's my, that's my firm stealing story about, you know, people that I have.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you guys don't hang out at family meetings and stuff for it.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, we do not.
[SPEAKER_00]: We do not.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I digress.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, let's go into the Baldoni Blake lively situation.
[SPEAKER_01]: For people that don't know it, can you give us a recap of the entire scenario over this case?
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just a very basic, not get too bogged down on the details, because that can take years.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they worked together on this film called It Ins with Us.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a book, based on a calling Hoover book about a couple where there's domestic violence involved.
[SPEAKER_00]: Blake Liamley played the lead female actress Lily and then Justin Baldoni played the lead male ryle.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he was also the director of the film and the studio that he partially owns.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were, you know, putting it on.
[SPEAKER_00]: So after the film, when they were doing all kinds of promotion and stuff like that, people started to say, like, why isn't Justin Bell Donnie with the rest of the cast?
[SPEAKER_00]: And it was really strange.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I start seeing, at this point, because I wasn't following up and ever read the book, I wasn't, and watched the movie until after the lawsuit.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I start seeing people saying, like, all this stuff about, like, lively and, and her past, I see that viral interview with the Shafty Flower come out where she's, like, congrats on your little bomb, I don't know if you,
[SPEAKER_00]: No, of course.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's when I started to see it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And before you finish, I just want to say, I did watch the movie.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I saw the press, I mean, I didn't care, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: I saw the movie.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was fine, whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: I did think to myself, whoever was the person that decided what she was going to wear was a terrible addition because I thought her clothing was terrible.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was absolutely to control of that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I thought she looked terrible.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's all I saw.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, this is an odd choice of clothes for her.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's all I got.
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the guys were hot.
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the story was fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought, yes, it's about domestic violence, but it was like, done in kind of a loving way.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, everyone made a big deal about this.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's such a terrible topic.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you have to deal with it with kid gloves and I was like, all right, whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I saw the news reports that they didn't want to walk the red carpet together, and then I didn't pay attention.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I saw that interview.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I have a thirteen-year-old daughter.
[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen Taylor Swift in concert three times for the air as to her.
[SPEAKER_01]: Every time for whatever reason, Blake and I are in Ryan have always been at the concert.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we've seen them.
[SPEAKER_01]: We spotted them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, my daughter likes Blake.
[SPEAKER_01]: Love's Blake at the time.
[SPEAKER_01]: because she was Taylor's best friend.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, she's written songs about their kids and blah, blah, blah, blah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So at this point, Blake was like, beloved, hot, beloved does all these movies, great actress.
[SPEAKER_01]: In that clip of her talking to that woman, I was like, what a bitch.
[SPEAKER_01]: I could not believe she treated her like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was the first time I saw that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, that is gonna rub off terribly on Taylor because if Taylor's best friend, is that kind of girl?
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not a girl's girl, no one's going to like her.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I was my two cents of comments.
[SPEAKER_01]: Go on.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's I understand because I just since connected with Shosti, we did an interview together on my channel recently and she's I'm a really great woman.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so like at the time though, I was also a fan of Blake.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, like a super fan or anything like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, oh, I like Blakely and Ryan Reynolds.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're like a funny couple.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and so I saw that interview and I was like, well, this was obviously a long time ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I really want to judge this person based on what they did a long time ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've had off days, I've done things.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just happens that she's in front of cameras because she's a high profile person.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not going to judge that too harshly, but then it was like, thing after thing after thing, people were pulling up where she had all this kind of controversy and still
[SPEAKER_00]: When the CRD complaint was given to the New York Times and that article came out, I was kind of like, well, you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not judging her based on her past.
[SPEAKER_00]: It sounds like she apparently went through something terrible.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to kind of look at this with an open mind.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when all that news broke that she had filed a claim against Justin, and I think at the time I was a bunch of other people, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: And essentially the suggestion is that she was harassed.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually harassed on set.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh my god, this is going to be a big deal and everybody seemed at the moment and that first couple weeks until there was a response.
[SPEAKER_01]: everyone believed her and people were taking aside and saying a lot of celebrities came out online saying oh my god and almost like a me too movement like I could just happen I'm so upset for you I stand by Blake and I feel like his reputation even though no one really knew who he was besides the movie was like oh my god this guy must have been terrible to work with and then the New York Times piece I think came out even before he responded right
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you really believe Blake.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, she is in the right here.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's my memory of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Am I wrong?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, you see, New York Times had also said that they looked at thousands of pages of text messages to verify all this stuff too.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it sounded like, well, this is definitely what happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Megan too, he was a popular journalist for the Me Too movement, was the one who wrote it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I was like, of course, like there's, sorry, lots of credibility to this.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, why would I not believe what she's saying?
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this comes out.
[SPEAKER_01]: He then writes his side of the story.
[SPEAKER_01]: And somehow, because by the way, this is very hard for the tables to turn once all of that presses out with such a beloved actress.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: The table started to turn.
[SPEAKER_01]: And for court of public opinion, rather than just in his pages, he started to leak or show his own evidence.
[SPEAKER_01]: And some people were like, oh, this is real evidence.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Then I think the tide's really started to turn.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it seemed like they really became to no longer even be fifty-fifty.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was people were team, team Justin.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's certainly kind of where I fell at the end of the day.
[SPEAKER_00]: It did take me a little bit to get there, but yeah, you could see that she was definitely dishonest with some of her descriptions of events.
[SPEAKER_00]: And people now, when they look at her lawsuit, they look at the amended lawsuit, which came out after he made his complaint.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's another like, well, we can't say this anymore because they've already combated that narrative.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the original, if you go back and look at the original complaint, it's like, you were intentionally misleading about a lot of the events that happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: So of course, people are coming down on his side now.
[SPEAKER_00]: So.
[SPEAKER_01]: Bye.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so the negative for him is that he then filed his own lawsuit.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that was thrown out, correct?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So people think that his lawsuit was thrown out because like it didn't have merit or that was frivolous and a lot of people, honestly, in the media or like some podcasts, there's this up picked up on that and they kind of ran with it because people didn't really understand
[SPEAKER_00]: That it was about pleading deficiencies and that a lot of the stuff that she said it was protected by litigation privilege because she made that CRD complaint.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like if you put that in a lawsuit or an illegal proceeding you can't be sued for that for like defamation.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why his lawsuit like a lot of his bigger claims were thrown out.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not because
[SPEAKER_00]: He harassed her.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not because he did anything that she accused him of at all.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's because, unfortunately, a lot of the claims that she made that now seem to be not true are protected by that privilege.
[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So here's where we're at and correct me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, if I'm wrong, she filed a claim that claim is still going to go to trial next year.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that claim is about the sexual harassment, but there is another version or is it all part of the same claim that she believes he created he and the people that are in the suit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Did some major campaign to what Blacklist her to talk about her?
[SPEAKER_01]: What is she saying?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so the major claims that she has now are the obviously the sexual harassment and then there's this smear campaign narrative that they like defamed her somehow through the press and social media like getting people to talk bad about her on their behalf so like they're saying that
[SPEAKER_00]: He and his publicists basically either paid people or somehow influenced people to see negative stories about her in retaliation for this alleged sexual harassment and ruined her reputation.
[SPEAKER_00]: Before and after.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, okay, right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I remember the before thing she thought that he and his press people were like having people say she looked bad, she looked ugly, she whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: All these things about her so that people wouldn't like her, which seems to really dumb.
[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, if people think that, I don't think you can sue them for their opinion unless you can prove.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, unless you can prove that they were paid to say it and it was a smear campaign.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I got it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But now let's get to what she's doing now.
[SPEAKER_01]: So in the last week, I guess it is, we've heard that a lot of content creators have been served with papers.
[SPEAKER_01]: You were one of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, do you know how many in total were served?
[SPEAKER_00]: So I got subpoenaed through Google.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they technically sent the subpoenaed to Google for the information related to my Google accounts, which is asking for all kinds of things.
[SPEAKER_00]: But there were sixteen of us.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then there were twenty people on X that came out this past week.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then yesterday we find out there are six or seven.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember on TikTok.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I think in total that's somewhere around forty two, forty three.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah, and I see it's people like, and not just any year, not a real content creator, but it's like Perez Hilton, who obviously, you know, all the way to someone like you that you're just like, listen, Perez is known for being very off putting, he's been on my show, he's apologize a lot for the things that he says about people.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, he knows
[SPEAKER_01]: what he can say about people, and he's just reporting.
[SPEAKER_01]: No one is paying Perez to say anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, let's, you know, but for someone like you, too, that like just is talking and all of a sudden creating a following, first of all, let's start with this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Have you been paid to smear, like, gladly?
[SPEAKER_00]: No, but I'm not going to hurt him for cash show, you know, hit me off.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever been contacted by Justin Baldoni or any of his, the people that work for him?
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I've never spoken to anyone on either side involved in like this PR war.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so everything you are saying now to lead you, but everything that you say is based on opinion or someone making you say these things.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody makes me say anything that's the only reason I do YouTube.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like with my nine to five job, all the nine to five jobs have ever had.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have to work for people who sometimes they make me do things I don't want to do or I have to say or not say things that I don't want to.
[SPEAKER_00]: But here it's like, I say what I want, I cover what I want, and that is up to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's for her to say that I am somehow acting on behalf of someone as a joke.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right, that's amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love that you just said that.
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, incidentally, what do you do from nine to five?
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I used to work in psych until very recently.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I used to talk about a lot of this stuff from a psych perspective.
[SPEAKER_00]: But now I work for a company that when people don't get their health insurance bills paid, I have to talk to the insurance companies and try to get their bills paid.
[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, say you have to pay this medical bill for XYZ reason.
[SPEAKER_00]: So.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you're helping the hot underdog get stuff done.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I love that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, hopefully you'll start to make enough money doing content creation that you can you can quit that and then they're doing this.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, so so how did it work?
[SPEAKER_01]: So Google contacted you?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the contacted me through email and I think I was the first person to get one, which is why I was so confused and you just went on and posted about it immediately.
[SPEAKER_00]: I did and then I deleted it because there was like somebody who's like this is a fishing scam.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so we went through this whole thing for a few days or like this is a fishing scam.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is not a real subpoena.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is a real subpoena.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so that was a hard thing for four or five days because the lawyers would not answer when I asked them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is this a legitimate?
[SPEAKER_00]: Are you seeking my information from Google, which is what you're supposed to do?
[SPEAKER_00]: You're supposed to contact the person that they they list there by her attorneys would not respond.
[SPEAKER_00]: Her attorneys gave
[SPEAKER_00]: Confusing answers to other people.
[SPEAKER_00]: They told my friend Andy Signor is one of his lawyers who's helping him out.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it was not real or at least said, I don't think it's real a couple of times.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then later, you know, said yes, but then said no again, it was very confusing.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we were kind of freaking out about is this real or not for a while, but that was the big thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And when they finally confirmed it's
[SPEAKER_00]: I was just like, well, you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going in on this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm going to do this myself.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to represent myself how I want to.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say what I want to say about this because I would stay in my little YouTube channel and my Instagram account with no followers.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, she would have never known about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody would have ever known about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But now if you're going to drag me into your litigation, I'm going to say what I have to say.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to do it really loudly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good for you.
[SPEAKER_01]: So how did you get it confirmed that it was a real thing?
[SPEAKER_00]: her attorneys did eventually email back.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just took a long time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, got it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: So those same attorneys that didn't know about it or didn't want to answer, or it was a different.
[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the same offer.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And same.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what's the next step?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like what do you have to do?
[SPEAKER_01]: What do you have to give them?
[SPEAKER_00]: So I wrote, there was some confusion about the date that this would be due before Google would possibly hand our information over.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I wrote a letter of intent to the judge saying, I'm going to file a motion to quash this.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they have reasonable basis to get my information based on these reasons.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he gave me until Monday to file an actual motion.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I just had to do like a two page letter basically.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lot of note.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I intend to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, this is why please help me.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he's like, you haven't told Monday to do this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, and you just want to get it squashed.
[SPEAKER_01]: But do you even care like how cool would it be that you get pulled into this thing and you're like, listen, bitch, it wasn't these are my opinions.
[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously these are my opinions because look at how horrible you are.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, wouldn't it be kind of cool to be able to get up and say that?
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I, we're at the point now where I do have a chance to stay that without letting her access my IP addresses and my bank account information and my credit card information.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's all this crazy stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, is that the kind of stuff they want from you?
[SPEAKER_00]: They want all this crazy stuff that nobody should ever be able to just say, I want this person's information and get it without making a case.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I can make my case for that, and I can say all that then.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to say it the way that I would say it on YouTube, obviously, which I think is what they're expecting.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're expecting us to act hysterical and crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm not going to do that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to act like somebody who knows how to compose themselves when working with the courts.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll come back and make my points.
[SPEAKER_01]: Have they made an accusation to you saying, Lauren, Nike, we think that you have been paid by an entity to talk badly and to do a smear campaign?
[SPEAKER_01]: Have they come out, actually, said that?
[SPEAKER_00]: They have talked to some of the attorneys for people involved and said something along those lines that is just what's been related to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't laid my eyes on it, but to me they were very vague.
[SPEAKER_00]: They just said like she's made these accusations of a smear campaign against waitfare and that people were acting on her behalf.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wrote back to them and I said, you know, I didn't start covering this case until after your clients lost who came out.
[SPEAKER_00]: I started reading it because I was a fan of your client.
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't find your client story credible.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's well-dedocumented.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I, you know, took her story with an open mind and like these are things that you don't normally say to attorneys and like, oh, I'm not an attorney.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to act like myself.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I just said, you know, why was my account chosen then?
[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's well documented that this is where I got my information.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can go back and watch all the time that I spent talking about this and figure out exactly where it came from.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why do you need my bank account for that?
[SPEAKER_00]: Why do you need my IP addresses for that?
[SPEAKER_00]: How is that relevant to your litigation?
[SPEAKER_00]: And those questions a week later still have not been answered.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's insane.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I can't wait to hear what happens.
[SPEAKER_01]: Have you, so are you kind of banding together with the other creators who have gotten subpoenas?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll talk to each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a lot of them that we would know, like anyone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it's a lot of them are smaller creators.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's popcorn appointment at Andy, he's a little bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's probably the largest creator on there.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a spill sash.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, she was on my show.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she's on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's on there now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, she knows that yesterday.
[SPEAKER_00]: So there is, let's see who else.
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously Perez.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right, Perez.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Perez is actually the thing with these is like, we're a little bit separate from that because Perez, Candace Owens, and then also Andy's done both, but Perez and Candace Owens got separate subpoenas personally, so they got served personally, not through Google, like we did.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but have you gotten a season to sister anything that they said you have to stop talking?
[SPEAKER_00]: No, but good luck with that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, well, that would not go well.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: But can you imagine, I mean, like, can I imagine, yes, at this point?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I can imagine she would do something like that, but she hasn't, yes, right.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I don't know that you isn't it first, like, first, right, like, you aren't you allowed to beat your mind.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't bother her.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like I've done anything to harass her personally.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't message her and like say, I hate you and stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's one thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't do stuff like that, nor what I want to.
[SPEAKER_00]: But you can speak your mind on your own platform as long as you're telling the truth or making it clear that you're speaking your opinion about things.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you're not intending to defame anyone like this is my interpretation of this or this is what I think about this person or feel about this person and
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't stop people from doing that.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not how our country works.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what's interesting is that the two cases we're talking about, especially with the Laura Owens one.
[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like there was a lot of, you know, these online sluths, these reddit sluths.
[SPEAKER_01]: The people that are really doing the legwork.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, doing more of the legwork than sometimes the lawyers or the trials or anything that's going on.
[SPEAKER_01]: And with the Blake and just in situation,
[SPEAKER_01]: So many people have read the documents, really gotten really deep into this, you know, done deep dives into all the things because I think they went in with an open mind.
[SPEAKER_01]: Most people really liked Blake, original.
[SPEAKER_01]: No one even knew who this guy was, besides he was like some hot guy in a movie.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, by the way, who was the one who was the abuser in the movie?
[SPEAKER_01]: So you would think that most people would not like him.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, listen, it's going to ruin both of their careers.
[SPEAKER_01]: But oh, the reason why I spread all that up, you're, you've now become an internet sleuth and online journalists, so to speak, which is cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: But like, what do you think about media?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what did your personal opinion about how media covers the story and how that makes the story blow up or not blow up and move to one side of the other?
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I used to think that people who had these conspiracy theories about how media is paid off and stuff like that were crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: But just watching how this is all played out and how these bigger outlets who will totally cover things when Blake side has something to come out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like when they apparently was Blake's team and I can't say that with the hundred percent certainty that leaked the perresive subpoena, can't disillven subpoena.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were all over that, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: But with these, it's like nobody wants to say anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody's quiet and kind of like, well, there's a reason for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that I feel like they squashed a lot of that press.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm like, it makes me question like where I get my information and like why certain outlets are publishing certain information and not other stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess it's just, it's kind of warped my perspective of the world in general to being honest, just seeing as a lot of the stuff these attorneys will do and the media will do.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like, wow, this is this is messed up.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't trust it anymore.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's interesting, before you got the subpoena, were you just kind of covering the story daily in like giving daily updates of what happened?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I would cover the court documents that came out right away.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was pretty much, I mean, most of what I cover, if not all, I mean, there's probably like, I want to say I'm like, ninety-ten on this, but like, court documents are the big thing for me.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'll do like, if some a popular story is going around in big news outlets, I'll probably comment on that.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't really do too much to like talk about this stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's mostly court documents.
[SPEAKER_00]: So like, why are you bothering me?
[SPEAKER_01]: Right exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, what is the latest with the court documents?
[SPEAKER_00]: So they had a Blake's team had put out a filing on Friday, basically saying that the reason they couldn't explain more, and she was getting backlash about these content creator subpoenas, was because Justin Belladoni's PR team had privately disclosed in these attorneys eyes only discovery things that our names were on some list of people who had communicated with the PR.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, and so anyway, we're guilty because we were talking to his PR team.
[SPEAKER_00]: But then yesterday the attorneys for Justin came back and said that's not true.
[SPEAKER_00]: Only one person on the social media subpoena is out of the forty two or forty three there are was even listed and it was because they had asked for a request for comment which is like a common thing for media to do during a high profile case.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they said they called their bluff and they were like, you know what, let's just mitigate.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not private anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're not going to object to this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead, make it public.
[SPEAKER_00]: And everyone will see that there's no smear campaign and that these people were not on some list.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there's no conspiracy here in that she's basically just.
[SPEAKER_00]: refusing to accept accountability and other people's opinions.
[SPEAKER_00]: So.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then the latest is what?
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we're waiting until next year to hear more about the details, or do you think this will be settled?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what do you think is going to play out here?
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see a settlement coming unless she decides to drop the sexual harassment claims.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they're going to let that fly.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think if she did for some reason decide to drop that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I don't see it happening, but then they might settle on the smear campaign stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I think.
[SPEAKER_00]: They might come up to a settlement there, but
[SPEAKER_00]: As far as the sexual harassment thing, it's very reputationally harming, obviously, and it's just like, it's kind of like a mess with your mind and to have someone make those kinds of accusations when it's not true.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't see that settlement coming unless she decides to let that one go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, no, I got it.
[SPEAKER_01]: What about the Taylor Swift connection?
[SPEAKER_01]: What's it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it true that Taylor Swift was like subpoena or something?
[SPEAKER_01]: How was she involved now?
[SPEAKER_00]: She was subpoenaed.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were going to have to argue over whether or not they were going to squash that subpoena, but then it turns out based on like what was said to the press by sources.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we can only go by sources here because it seems like in my opinion attorneys were both sides probably agreed not to comment publicly.
[SPEAKER_00]: But sources, you know, so take that with the great assault said basically she decided to give over what they were looking for or gave them what they were asking for without the need for a subpoena to be in place.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they withdrew the subpoena.
[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: So do you think that first of all, what are both people doing now, meaning Justin and Blake?
[SPEAKER_01]: Are they filming movies?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do anyone like them?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do they go to restaurants in public?
[SPEAKER_01]: What's their story?
[SPEAKER_00]: And just has been pretty private, mostly.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was recently spotted in a couple of places, but they went out to like Hawaii for a long time.
[SPEAKER_00]: He had his life profile.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they've got two kids.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they were keeping a low profile.
[SPEAKER_00]: But then they came back and I'm guessing it's because they have to be around for depositions and stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't a month or so.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but obviously this is going to be affecting his career.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I would think he does have a case to come after her and say, this is ruined my reputation, too.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, a lot of people don't agree with his claims being thrown out and they will still have an opportunity to appeal that if they want to, but we have to wait till this all kind of plays out for us.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And is she filming anything right now?
[SPEAKER_00]: I have no idea if she's actually filming anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen obviously we've seen her at like the time.
[SPEAKER_00]: One hundred gala there was the Seth Meyers thing and she's been kind of pretty visible in the press stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So she seems to not be struggling as much as she claims in a lot of ways, but well, they were saying she could barely leave the house and stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right, right, right.
[SPEAKER_01]: But what's interesting is I see her on these red carpet things and I always look at this and I'm like, wait, is this recent?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because why would, isn't she humiliated to be in public right now?
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I was like, and isn't her husband embarrassed ever?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm not, I really don't follow.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't get why she doing these red carpet things and acting like nothing's wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: Especially if she was sexually assaulted, abused, whatever, not assaulted, but abused and felt so terrible that she brings such a lawsuit publicly and it's like trying to ruin this person's life.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't be able to get out of that if that really happened to me and instead she's walking around getting her hair and makeup done on red carpets acting like she's so in love with her husband.
[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of doesn't.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like so clueless to me because she knows the whole world is talking about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I mean, everyone's different and how you respond to trauma if you've actually gone through something like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I tried not to come down too hard about that, but at the same time to me, it does seem like she got tired of playing the withdrawn victim and was like, no, I want to be out in front of cameras and stuff against.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's kind of let it let it happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, you know what screw it?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to I'm going to go down there and start talking.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, listen, I'm someone who can definitely comment on what it's like for the media to take your story and put it into a zillion pieces.
[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, I also interview people like that for my show a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I will, you're probably too young to even know who Lorraine a Bob it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know how that is?
[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard that name, but not that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I see someone that many decades ago got angry with her new husband and chopped his penis off.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, but I only bring that up because people call her crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was on trial for it.
[SPEAKER_01]: They found her not guilty for temporary insanity.
[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: No one remembers that part of this story.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just remember this crazy Hispanic woman who she wasn't Hispanic, but this somebody who could hardly speak English, so they just called her Hispanic woman.
[SPEAKER_01]: cutting off her husband's deck.
[SPEAKER_01]: This woman has changed her name.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's made her whole life about domestic violence and standing up for women who cannot speak for themselves because they've been so torn down by what their husband did to them and domestic violence cases in general.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you are someone that is going through some sort of abuse like that,
[SPEAKER_01]: you usually come to have a come to Jesus moment and are like, I'm gonna work on this for other people because I have a platform.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing that bothers me.
[SPEAKER_01]: That she's not taking this time to go.
[SPEAKER_01]: She wants to be in front of the spotlight.
[SPEAKER_01]: No problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: But she should be doing interviews about domestic violence, about being treated a certain way, about women's rights, about whatever it is she wants, what it's like to be having a baby and people asking to see your boobs while you're, you know, a breastfeeding while you're on set.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: The shit that she wants to talk about, she thinks is abusive.
[SPEAKER_01]: She should be talking about it and why women need to stand up for other women about it, but I haven't heard her say one word about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And because of her interview with that other woman that you said you were, you did a show with, and how mean she was, I don't think she's a girl's girl.
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, when she said, when that woman said to her, congratulations on your baby bum,
[SPEAKER_01]: And she said, congratulations on yours.
[SPEAKER_01]: Was that woman pregnant?
[SPEAKER_01]: She was calling her fat?
[SPEAKER_01]: What was that?
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't recall if she was having fertility issues or if there was an issue with a miscarriage.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't want to miss speak.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was something along with those lines, so I can't really.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, the, the, the, the journalist.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Shosti here.
[SPEAKER_01]: She was the one that was having fertility.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was either that or there was a struggle with a miscarriage.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't recall exactly what it was.
[SPEAKER_01]: But for her to say that was very rude, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when that woman was just trying to give and I do an icebreaker and just say congratulations on you're having a baby.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't even realize, I mean, that was the shocking part of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I didn't even realize that first until I went back and watched it before I talked to Shastie, like how she treated her for the rest of that interview.
[SPEAKER_00]: She was basically ignoring her.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, she was like demeaning to her when she asked questions about like the fashion of the film that they were talking about, which is a normal question to ask the actresses.
[SPEAKER_00]: And she was so weird and standoffish about all of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Terrible.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so I can't wait to see what happens.
[SPEAKER_01]: I as your new friend want to tell you, do not do not be scared of any of this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's not have the food a million times.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do not stand down on on any of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you should definitely ride the wave with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, everyone is on your side because they know you're making the shit up or being paid for it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I think.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to be fine, but I really hope that this blows up for you in a way that people start to hear your voice and you start to pick stories that make a difference that people want to follow.
[SPEAKER_01]: So speaking of that, are there any other cases or things right now that are peaking your interest that you're like, oh, I should talk about this?
[SPEAKER_00]: I've been so busy doing traveling, always crazy stuff, because I've been everywhere in lots of couple months.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, the only reason thing that I feel like has been notable lately was that a strong emergency situation, which everyone is talking about.
[SPEAKER_00]: There was also that Kanye West lawsuit where his former employee was suing him for saying some interesting anti-Semitic things.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how that's going though.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was supposed to, there was something we got a hearing last month in LA.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know how that's going.
[SPEAKER_01]: okay awesome well my suggestion again to you someone who's been doing stuff like this not podcasting but like in general being in the media for many years um is to kind of find the next thing that you want to say hey guys you should listen to this just like turtle boy
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, who's been on my show a number of times, you know, became obsessed with the Karen Retrial and just kept talking about it and kept bringing awareness to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: People started listening.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, a case that I think, I don't know if you followed it, Ellen and Greenberg, I think is their name.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't know about it, you should look into it.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a girl who her fiance came in, found her stabbed twenty times and the police ruled it, a suicide.
[SPEAKER_01]: When the door was lost because the fiance said the door was locked from the inside and he had to break it down.
[SPEAKER_01]: Very clear that the girl did not commit suicide.
[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine stabbing yourself on the back.
[SPEAKER_00]: How do you stab yourself of what?
[SPEAKER_01]: doesn't happen, but the parents are very rich of the fiance and at the time we're very good friends with now and forgetting the guy he was the mayor of the governor whoever he was who was about to run for to be the right he was going to be the vice president for Kamala and she decided last minute to not pick him and forgetting
[SPEAKER_00]: But I can't remember, I know what you're talking about.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So there is a scandal there.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've had people on my show talking about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just finally, I think, decided to reopen the case or look at more stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it'll be, you know, people have talked a lot about it, but like, that's a good one for you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not looking to that.
[SPEAKER_01]: My two cents on that.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyways, good luck to you.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wish you the best of luck.
[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully, you know, we'll have you want to talk about something else that you're following and that you, you are the expert on some times.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And all, well, we can do that in some other things and we'll see if we can come up with something.
[SPEAKER_00]: Amazing.
