Speaker 1: One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment, perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market. The truth is that moment doesn't really exist. A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions, but every situation is different. Race change, market shift, and personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally. That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable. Speaker 2: Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio, present it by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones quarterback.

00:01:09
Speaker 3: It is our number two Kentucky Sports Radio. I FM nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Text machine is seven tivin two seven four five two five four. People writing in with some questions. Let's go through them real quick. What best rights? Matt? Did you? And Drew? Uh get up this morning? Watch Novak Djokovic turn back time and beat Center. I saw like the last point but apparently huge huge, Uh, he is turning back time, Yokovic. Djokovic beats Yannick Center, Drew and what is me? You wouldn't think for people who don't follow it, that doesn't seem like an upset because people know Djokovic, but he's he's old and had one like this in a long time.

00:01:48
Speaker 4: Yeah, I wasn't tuned in love, but he got the young guy and uh Alcarez won a thriller too, So it's Australia. Had a lot of good tennis late in the night and early morning last night. His came down to the last setting, last point. He had a big, big winner after going down.

00:02:03
Speaker 3: The problem with the Australian Open is it's overnight and I'm always asleep, so it's hard to know what's going on. It does feel like does it ever feel to you like a different life, Drew when we were tennis journalists.

00:02:15
Speaker 4: It does, and I missed it from time to time. We knew when we were in it that tennis people have the easiest job in the world, uh, because the matches are so long, so you just joy, there's not a lot to say, and then you write your recap and there's not a lot of in depth analysis in tennis, and there you're going to like the nicest places ever to watch. So people that they know what they're doing.

00:02:36
Speaker 3: I think we knew when we were in it. It was ridiculous that we were in it too, because we really didn't I mean, we really didn't know what we were doing, but the fact that they would send us right in Shannon. We stayed in the nicest hotel, like we stayed in like the Plaza in New York.

00:02:53
Speaker 4: Yeah, the Waldorf, which just reopened and is now the most expensive hotel.

00:02:56
Speaker 3: Yeah. We stayed like literally in the Waldorf for like two straight weeks, just me and Drew in this insanely nice hotel.

00:03:04
Speaker 2: But you played tennis, so I guess you know you qualified, you played tennis before, but.

00:03:08
Speaker 3: Like it didn't come into play with what we were doing.

00:03:11
Speaker 2: Is that the where the guy that was like the lash slash slash guy lash slash lash.

00:03:18
Speaker 3: He didn't like that, Yeah, slash slash slash slash. He still doesn't, by the way, does does he really? He still doesn't. I see his uh, I see his stuff on social media. He still doesn't. He didn't like that. Drew and I were were, uh, you know, we're credential now. He came around and by the end he was nice to us, but he was he was slash last.

00:03:39
Speaker 2: He's one of the slash slashy guys out of there.

00:03:41
Speaker 3: That's right.

00:03:41
Speaker 4: He's very serious. Like I didn't have a lot to say about the matches, so I'm asking the players what was on their iPad or iPod or why were you drinking a diet coke in the in the middle of a match. And then you know he just wants to nerd out over points and sets and I don't think he liked our brand coming in there.

00:03:57
Speaker 3: But it's also crazy, like you probably get close Ryan to famous athletes in tennis than anywhere else. I mean, we Drew and I shared an elevator with Nadal and talked to him. I had Federer on the post game show. We interviewed Serena, we interviewed Venus Williams, like those are very famous people, and Drew and I were just like, hey, what's up? You know, like they it's it's kind of crazy that we did.

00:04:24
Speaker 5: That, didn't you say? I think at one point that the athletes were much more friendlier than the media. They were welling athlete.

00:04:31
Speaker 3: Some The thing what I learned about tennis is the better the player, generally speaking, the nicer they were. It was the guys that sucked Drew that were always the biggest jerks. We always talk about. The worst athlete I've ever met for being a jerk was a tennis player, Jack Suck. Do you remember him, Drew. He was the worst, the worst. Jack Suck. He was American and he was he was kind of coming up. He was supposed to be a star and his name was Jack Sock. And what did you do? Just every time we ran to him, he was if he'd do something else, jerky, he was just this like whiney dude who clearly had been privileged his entire life.

00:05:15
Speaker 4: He'd throw rackets in the matter.

00:05:17
Speaker 3: Yeah, he'd yell at everybody. I just did not. We we did not like Jack Sock.

00:05:23
Speaker 4: He was the top drank Americans, so we wanted to like him. And we go to his first match. We're like, we're supposed to like this.

00:05:27
Speaker 3: What was the guy's name that we liked so much? Evo Carlovivo Karlovic miss Yeah, Wow, good memories. One person writes, Matt, are any of you all going this weekend to see the Milania Trump documentary? Well, I mean you can guess that. I'm not. Uh, are you gonna go? Ryan? No?

00:05:50
Speaker 4: First, I've heard about it.

00:05:52
Speaker 3: There's a doctor that they spent seventy five million dollars making.

00:05:56
Speaker 5: It, and it's going to open in theaters.

00:06:00
Speaker 3: I think so. Yeah. I think it's on in Lexington and Louisville. I don't. I mean, I actually, as much as I don't like her husband, I don't mind her. But I also don't know Shannon. Is she interesting?

00:06:14
Speaker 6: I guess we're gonna find out.

00:06:15
Speaker 2: Maybe that's the whole point of this movie, just to see if she is or they're going to try to make her look that way. Movies can make anybody look interesting.

00:06:21
Speaker 3: You think, so, No, Yeah, I mean I don't have any I don't find her objectionable. I also just don't find her like what what does she do?

00:06:29
Speaker 6: Well, we're about to find out spoilers.

00:06:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, I do think it would be fascinating. I'm sure they don't show this. I think it would be fascinating to watch their relationship.

00:06:39
Speaker 6: Mm hmm.

00:06:40
Speaker 2: You know, I think that's what you're gonna see in this, I'm guessing. I mean, from what I've seen, I wouldn't.

00:06:45
Speaker 3: Be interested, but I would be interested to see, like does she really like him? Like for real? Well, like like really like are you really are they? Are they really like well you know what I'm talking.

00:07:01
Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I wonder that about a lot of couples each other the money.

00:07:06
Speaker 3: I do wonder about that. So if they got to that, I might want to see it. Kentucky is the fourth biggest consumer RNE in the country of mountain dew, according to Mountain Dew. They said yesterday that Kentucky is fourth in total mountain dew consumed, not even per capita, just total mountain dew, which when you consider how small we are, is pretty good. Ohio consumes the most mountain dew. Seems like mountain dew is kind of a Midwestern Southern thing. Indiana is second, and we are fourth. Bullet County played a huge part of this.

00:07:42
Speaker 2: Taylor County apparently did too. Last week we were in Campbellsville. They brought us donuts to mountain dew.

00:07:47
Speaker 3: We were gonna be seventh, but Bullet County's returns came in late and we got all the way up to fourth. What do you think of right about us being the fourth biggest consumer of mountain dew.

00:07:57
Speaker 5: I gotta be honest. I was a little shocked. I thought for sure we be runaway number one winner. Just then, if you grow up in certain parts of this state, you grew up or drinking mountain dew, not milk.

00:08:07
Speaker 4: Did not formula mountain dew.

00:08:10
Speaker 3: Only Bully County. I don't know.

00:08:12
Speaker 6: You say that no formula.

00:08:14
Speaker 5: I haven't drink and baby bottles full of mountain dew formula.

00:08:19
Speaker 3: They did not give him formula. No, they gave him mountain dew. So congrats to the state of Kentucky. Now are you all ready to play? We play this game every year. If you were a Kentucky state legislator, you are the legislature you three yes. Here is the bill that is before you, because this was voted on yesterday in the committee in the Kentucky Legislature. It is a bill that allows judges to give non violent offenders, so this is mostly drug offenses, although it could be other things, but non violent offenders to have a factor that allows them to get probation instead of prison time, to be whether or not they have a child. I'm gonna present you the argument on both sides. The people in favor of the bill say that when parents go to jail for drug stuff, it ends up having a negative impact on both the parent because they don't get to be with their kid, but also the child who may then have to go u with another family member or maybe even into foster care or something because their only parent is in jail. And the idea would be that if if the person will test clean, that they can get probation instead of prison time so they can watch their children. The people against it say, you're creating a two tiered legal system where if you have a child, you can get probation, but if you don't have a child you don't, and essentially it's not fair because you're making justice depend on whether or not you had a child, and also potentially encouraging people with children to use drugs because they have a better chance of being on probation instead of jail time. So that is the bill. Basically, which side would you be on? I'll let Drew go first.

00:10:16
Speaker 4: This is a tough one. Kids, you know, they don't pick their parents, and as you said, they would be very affected by this change their whole life. But at the same time, I don't know about lowering accountability just because you have a kid. I'm going to lean towards whatever you did. It needs to be across the board.

00:10:36
Speaker 3: You're gonna say no, you can't consider the fact of therapy on the fly.

00:10:40
Speaker 4: Maybe I could hear another argument, but right now that's my immediate reaction.

00:10:45
Speaker 5: All right, Ryan, I need to ask you one question, Okay, So, for to get the probation, they have to test clean right every time?

00:10:54
Speaker 3: Yes, everyone who gets probation has to do that. Yes, so that the assumption would be that at the moment they are clean.

00:11:01
Speaker 5: I am going that route because I've been around all of these kids and it does. Man, it affects you and you end up in the foster care system, and that affects you. If mom or dad can stay clean, they absolutely need to be there for their kids.

00:11:15
Speaker 3: So I vote.

00:11:15
Speaker 5: I would want that bill to pass.

00:11:17
Speaker 3: All right, we're one one that means Shannan grigs me, Republican or no independent, independent independent from Bullet County. YEP, we'll be casting the deciding vote.

00:11:30
Speaker 2: Where you go, I would say, And as you said, there are a lot of these cases are drug related cases. If you're a parent doing drugs, you're not a very good parent to begin with. I say, we have to treat this all across the board exactly the same.

00:11:44
Speaker 6: I don't care if you're a parent or not.

00:11:45
Speaker 2: There are probably a lot of people who have drug problems adopting kids just as an insurance policy. So I think that regardless if you have a kid or not, we treated you all the same.

00:11:54
Speaker 6: No probation you're going to The.

00:11:56
Speaker 3: Bill has passed in KS or excuse me, has has failed in KSR Committee two to one. Now, would you like to know what actually happened in the real legency?

00:12:05
Speaker 6: Yes?

00:12:06
Speaker 3: In committee? Okay, So it hasn't been voted on by the full legislature. It actually passed six to one, which is a little bit of a surprise to me. Now, one person who voted for it, he was getting He gave a quote Drew that made it sound like he was against it even though he voted for it. This is State Senator Philip Wheeler. I bring him up. I've brought him up on this show before because I went to college with him, And if you had asked me, Shannon, everyone I went to college with at Trancy, who's the one person you would want to be in the state Senate the least I would have picked Philip. I'm not kidding you. I'm sure he's a decent guy now, but in college he would say things that would I was like, I cannot believe a human being believes this. Now I get I don't know what he believes now. I haven't seen him in years, but he's a state center from Pipe. Here's what he said. Let's just say, hypothetically, I'm a drug addict. You're a drug addict, but you have two kids, and I don't you're gonna be eligible for a program that keeps you out of the clink while myself, who arguably is more responsible because I didn't bring a bunch of people into this world on social services and everything else. I gotta go to jail, but you don't. He voted if we are basically saying, because I can't have it, because I don't have any kids, I'm better than you. He actually takes an argument, Shannon that I think is even I wouldn't make. Yeah, but he ended up voting for the bill for the bill, which like, why would you give that quote if you're going to vote for it.

00:13:43
Speaker 6: I don't think he even knows what he voted for. It doesn't sound like.

00:13:46
Speaker 3: I didn't want him to be in the States in when I was a translative.

00:13:49
Speaker 6: Matt, I'm curious what you would have voted.

00:13:52
Speaker 3: I would have see. I actually think it's a really tough question because my sympathies are with Ryan. I think in general, we put too many people in jail, like we put jail is our cure for too many things, and so in general I'm for drug court and things that are non jail related things. I do, however, think that you creating any sort of two tier justice system is just at its fundamental nature not fair. So I don't like that. I don't like creating a two tier justices. What I would do is say, why not what you're doing for the parents here, do for everyone sham, Yeah, right. It's if you think a parent should be able to go on probation, then clearly you don't think the crime itself needs jail time or you would put them in jail, right mm hm, So whatever it is you're allowing them, I would give everyone that opportunity.

00:14:47
Speaker 6: So you sound like you're kind of on the side of Drew, And.

00:14:49
Speaker 3: If I'm actually gone, I would say I would amend the bill to give everyone that opportunity.

00:14:55
Speaker 6: But you're treating everybody the same.

00:14:57
Speaker 3: I think it's important you treat everybody the same because I don't. It's not about I'm not like Philip. It's not about incentives to have kids. It's just about I don't like things in law that enshrine that we treat people differently based on characteristics. I just don't like that, especially in the criminal justice system. That's just my view. So I would if I had to, I'd probably vote for it, but I'd want to amend it to include everybody. So if I had to vote it B two two and we'd be tied.

00:15:26
Speaker 6: That's not what happened.

00:15:28
Speaker 4: They should work in like the person has to be the primary caretaker too, Like if you're like a solo parent, there could be a little more yeah leniencynes I think that's actually But if if mom or dad is still home to take care of the kid, I don't think you should get anything special.

00:15:42
Speaker 3: That's a reasonable point, all right, So there you go. The Kentucky Legislature of KSR has spoken, has been a journ Tell me about Stockton Mortgage.

00:15:50
Speaker 5: Stocktor Mortgage. You know, we talked about the spring buying season coming up, and it started a little early this year. So time to get started. Get preapproved now. If you're thinking about maybe buying this spring or this summer, get reapproved right now. So when you go see those houses, you're kind of aheaded maybe the other guy, and you make your offer. So go to Stockton dot com. You'll parry up with the loan officer. You'll stay at that same on officer throughout the entire process. They make it easy as possible because the mortgage process can be a hassle. A lot of paperwork, a lot of W two's, a lot of income information. You got it supply just be patient. They'll get you to the closing table, get you the keys of that new house, and that's what's all about. So go to Stockton dot com in m mols A two five nine equalusing lener in a mols equal access dot org.

00:16:25
Speaker 3: Back to you, Matt, one person writes, Matt, if my name was Jacksack, I'd probably have pent up anger too. Can you imagine what it was like growing up being named jack Sock? Yeah, it probably wasn't easy to be fair.

00:16:37
Speaker 4: If this was a podcast, I'd have a lot more to say.

00:16:40
Speaker 3: We'll take a break and be right back, say Zar, Welcome back. Uh Tucky Sports Radio a nine two eighth twenty two eighty seven text machine. Full of lots of very varied opinions on the probation Bill Shannon. Not a lot of varied opinions of Philip Wheeler.

00:16:59
Speaker 6: Everybody across the board or agree. I think the.

00:17:01
Speaker 3: People that know, yeah, you know, they know. Although again he maybe I haven't talked to him many years. He may be uh, he may be a good guy now, I don't know. But in college I would not have put him in the wheels of governments. Who's up next, Let's go do Mark, Mark, go ahead, Mark, afternoon.

00:17:20
Speaker 7: Gentlemen.

00:17:22
Speaker 8: First off, congratulations on the congradulations on the ratings.

00:17:26
Speaker 3: Thank you.

00:17:27
Speaker 8: So you asked earlier about if somebody could snapped their fingers and have cow back. If I was able to snap my fingers and the choice was to get cow back or keep hope, I would just cut.

00:17:39
Speaker 3: My hand off. Let's keep hope. We'll be fine.

00:17:43
Speaker 8: And uh, we'll be fine, and we'll keep fighting.

00:17:47
Speaker 3: Well, we are going to keep fighting. This is a no well, I appreciate call. Do you think this is a no lose game Saturday? Ryan? Like, I mean, no one's expecting us to win Arkansas? I think is a seven and a half point favorite right now.

00:18:00
Speaker 5: Maybe a no lose win if you play well, you play like you did against Vanderbilt. I'm not gonna be happy. I expect him to lose. But it's the way you lost Vandy that made me so upset. So you can't say that way can't get run.

00:18:11
Speaker 3: I can't think Drew fans if we get blown off the court by col kind of for a second straight year, because he kind of did it last year too, that's not gonna be good for Mark. Would you agree?

00:18:24
Speaker 9: Oh?

00:18:24
Speaker 4: I would definitely agree. And part of it is not even that it's Cal. And I know Cal's right in front of us. I made this analogy recently, but it's like Cal's in my neighborhood wanting attention, but my house is on fire, and I gotta worry about me right now. Like we have so many problems with our own team. I can't even worry about Cal Tawannicus and Machi is having his moment because we are so bad right now, and I'm worried about next year and it's Pope gonna work and where we're gonna find a recruit that like Arkansas is kind of I mean, yes, it's right in front of us. We gotta play the game, and I want to win, but it's win or lose. I'm still gonna have the same concerns on Sunday morning, probably.

00:18:56
Speaker 3: What did you think about Cal saying that Mark was the perfect person for the job, Shannon.

00:19:02
Speaker 2: I'm starting to doubt the sincerity of him saying that Mark Fox, Yeah, he used to beat him all the time. I feel like he's kind of saying that like as a jab, like keep him there. Yeah, he's a perfect guy for the job.

00:19:16
Speaker 4: Did you see what cal did today?

00:19:18
Speaker 3: What do you do?

00:19:19
Speaker 4: I gotta pat him on the back on this one. He sent Kenny Penny into the press conference.

00:19:23
Speaker 5: No he didn't, No, he didn't for the Kentucky game.

00:19:28
Speaker 4: Yeah, I got at least tip the cap on that. And that's a nice troll move there, John.

00:19:33
Speaker 3: By the way, I gave I gave Billy Shannon uh the ability to pick the co host of the postgame show tomorrow night because I can't be there, so I told him, Actually, I said to him, I'd like you to ask Maggie Davis, so hopefully she can do it. But if Maggie can't do it, I decided to let Billy pick amongst whoever, and Maggie is my choice. But for some reason, Maggie can't do it. His judgment is on the line.

00:20:02
Speaker 6: Yeah, there's a lot of people he could go to.

00:20:05
Speaker 3: He could, but I told him not Ryan and Drew all right, because they've got other ones to do. And we'll see what he comes.

00:20:13
Speaker 6: Don't call me, you're out.

00:20:19
Speaker 5: It could be an ugly post game show.

00:20:22
Speaker 3: Well, that's why I thought someone nice like Maggie would be good. It would be a good.

00:20:28
Speaker 6: Other than trying to that sorrow.

00:20:30
Speaker 3: Who's next?

00:20:31
Speaker 6: Another?

00:20:32
Speaker 3: Mark? Mark?

00:20:33
Speaker 10: Go ahead and Mark, it's going on?

00:20:35
Speaker 3: Man, what's up? Hey?

00:20:38
Speaker 10: I think you made a real good point about our offense right now is looking like Lake Cal with without talented players. But I'm gonna ask you a question real quick. I actually got two points real quick. If you could go back like a year over this year and a half's where both these guys and their tenure, who's had a more successful tenure and of this year and a half.

00:20:58
Speaker 3: You're talking about between Cal.

00:21:01
Speaker 10: And Yeah, yeah.

00:21:04
Speaker 3: Well, I mean this year so far, it's Cal. Last year, I actually think it was Pope because because they went the same in the tournament and Pope had a better regular season. So it just depends on you know, right, Yeah, But I mean remember they barely made the tournament, you know, they they they had to win, They had to go on a streak at the end of the year even to make the tournament. They were when when they beat us in Reperena last year. Remember they came into that game one and six in the conference.

00:21:35
Speaker 10: Right right? Hey, the last point, And actually this is kind of a controversial point because I know when Mark came on, we talked about we want to play for the name on the front of the jersey as opposed to the back of the jersey. And I actually think I look at totally different. I actually think the guys that we have right now are playing for the back of the jersey. And I'm gonna tell you why. I think that. When guys, the players that Cal brought in their ultimate goal was to get to the end NBA. Most of these guys right here don't think they're gonna make it to the NBA. They want this money grab that they're gonna get. They know they're gonna never it's never gonna get any better than it is right here at UK And I think they're playing they're happy to be here. We got a bunch of average, above average guys who are just happy to be here right now.

00:22:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's I don't think that's a fair because you might be right about that, but like, that argument doesn't make logical sense. Those dudes need to play harder than anybody because, you know, the whole they're happy to be here. That should make the money to embrace. Yeah, but I hate that argument. There's a lot of dudes out there, man, A lot of dudes across college basketball that are making money and playing their ass off if our guys aren't, that's on those guys and on our coaching staff. But the idea that making money makes you not want to work hard is insane because everybody't. But what then, how do you explain the guys at Purdue. How do you explain the guys at Purdue that are not going to play in the NBA and they're playing their tail off? How do you explain that? How do you explain the guys?

00:23:08
Speaker 10: Goes back to the coaching staff.

00:23:10
Speaker 3: You and I agree with the coaching but you're acting like the the idea of getting paid makes you not want to play. These other teams are getting paid, they're playing hard. I mean, do that's one got We need guys who not because of the money. We'll be right back. T J.

00:23:33
Speaker 4: Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay now.

00:23:37
Speaker 2: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

00:23:40
Speaker 6: Here's Matt Jones.

00:23:44
Speaker 3: That's my favorite Arkansas song, Top three Tom t Hall song. It always makes me think about writing my book because we would, Chris Tomlin and our interns and I we would drive around the state listening to this. Always brings back good memories nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Uh text Machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four what person rights? Matt. I think everybody ows Ryan in an apology, especially after yesterday when Mark Pope said Jaden Quaints had been completely shut down on on court activities, You're getting closer to being right, Ryan. Yeah, And I said the first SEC game I hated.

00:24:24
Speaker 5: I I was kind of hoping, hoping in the back of my mind he would come back and maybe play a little bit. But the more this drags out, the more highly unlikely we're gonna go to see him again.

00:24:34
Speaker 3: Are we gonna see him again?

00:24:35
Speaker 7: Drew?

00:24:35
Speaker 4: No, we would have already seen him.

00:24:40
Speaker 3: Is that definitive?

00:24:42
Speaker 4: Yes?

00:24:42
Speaker 5: When they say completely shut down on all on court activities.

00:24:46
Speaker 2: And I mean we're going into February one, February, so it's like we're talking about November.

00:24:50
Speaker 3: Yeah. What about him saying he thinks that Cam Williams could come back.

00:24:54
Speaker 5: That's fool's gold too, That ain't happening.

00:24:57
Speaker 6: Yeah, So you think you're just to the final four something.

00:25:00
Speaker 3: Do you think you're just kind of dangling this to try to keep people's hopes up I think so. Yeah.

00:25:05
Speaker 5: I mean, even if he's rehabilitated, he still has been off his feet for four or five weeks. Would take a long time for him to get back into plane shape.

00:25:14
Speaker 4: I like his dad has said that. I like that his dad has that attitude. You know, we're for years lately we were like, does this kid want to play? Is he gonna try to play? What's in his head? At least it sounds like Cam William's gonna try. Now medically it just doesn't seem possible given the timeline. But I like that he's trying to be optimistic.

00:25:31
Speaker 3: Yes. One person writes, Matt rank, each of you ranked the three players most likely to play for Kentucky next year, in order one through three. I'll go first, uh Moreno one, Cam Williams two, Colin Chandler three, and I would throw Jalen low forth. That would be my order. Ryan.

00:26:00
Speaker 5: I think you do get a count the red shirt guys.

00:26:03
Speaker 3: No, you don't get to count Rehyese Potter. Stop trying to throw him in there. Oh you can tell you can count Heythope. No, I'm not putting him in because that that's probably yes, So take him out. The guys that are on the are playing right now?

00:26:14
Speaker 5: Well that I think you hit the three guys, then I think Marino would definitely be a top the list. I was gonna say Colin Chandler two.

00:26:21
Speaker 3: Man Cam three or cam or Low three.

00:26:24
Speaker 5: Or Trent Noah?

00:26:26
Speaker 3: Who do you want?

00:26:26
Speaker 5: I'm gonna go Trenton NOA.

00:26:28
Speaker 3: Trenton Noah three? Yeah, Okay, what about you, Drew?

00:26:32
Speaker 4: I had your three Matt without thinking, came right into my head. But I'll switch the order. I'll go Cam first because he's ending with the injury. He didn't really do a whole lot this year, so I don't know how big he'll be in the portal, but there's an appreciation for him here one to see more. I think he wants to be here, so I'll see him just because of how the year's ending. Then I'll go Colin Chandler and then Marino.

00:26:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say, if you said to me, Matt, who do you think is playing at Kentucky next year? Those first three are the only three I feel confident in. After that, I don't know. I say load just because I don't know who the other option is, and I think that, but I also think there, you know there might be some fit issues, but I know, so we'll see. But I think those three will be back after that. Who knows, and and I'm not sure this story is for Shannon. Shannon. Do you know who Senator Jim Justice is.

00:27:33
Speaker 6: I don't think I do.

00:27:35
Speaker 3: He's a senator from West Virginia. He was the governor for a while. You might have seen him. He's a big man. He's he's large. Okay, okay, kind of, He's just large.

00:27:44
Speaker 6: I'm looking at him right now. Looks like he'd be large and in charge.

00:27:48
Speaker 3: He's large and in charge. Used to be a Democrat at Swiss Republican seems to be pretty well liked in West virgin.

00:27:54
Speaker 6: You can't make his mind up.

00:27:56
Speaker 3: He has a dog who he named his dog baby dog. Now is that a good name? First of all, for a dog to have dog? Get the name of your dog.

00:28:06
Speaker 2: No, the dog's eating well too. If it's the same dog I'm looking at right now, it's a big dog.

00:28:10
Speaker 3: Would you name what you name? Like, like, can you name a dog baby dog? Or why wouldn't you just name it? But I feel like it's weird to have dog in the name. It'd be like naming it drew.

00:28:18
Speaker 2: Dog, yeah, or just I mean, if I were gonna call it something, just call it dog before I call it baby dog.

00:28:24
Speaker 3: But I don't think you would call it dog. That's the name of this. You don't call it like that'd be like your first name being human sounds.

00:28:30
Speaker 6: It's very elon musk of you to name your dog dog.

00:28:34
Speaker 3: Anyway, name's baby dog. It came out that Senator Jim Dutt Justice and baby Dog. They work during the day at their butt at the office, but at night, rather than go back, he shares an apartment in DC with someone else, like another senator. So in order to get privacy, he has his own booth at Outback Steakhouse where he goes and will sit and work from six o'clock to ten o'clock. He and baby Dog sit in a booth at Outback and that's where he does his work.

00:29:09
Speaker 6: It's a little weird. I didn't know that out back was pet friendly.

00:29:14
Speaker 3: I didn't know. I didn't know you could bring and that's a big dog.

00:29:17
Speaker 6: He just brings that dog.

00:29:19
Speaker 3: Dog. He brings that dog and out back, and apparently they both sit on chairs and like he's on one side of the boot, serious on the one side of the booth. Listen, you think I'm making this up. He sits on one side and the dog sits on the other and it's just the two of them.

00:29:41
Speaker 6: What an existence.

00:29:45
Speaker 3: With him? If you want to meet with him, you have.

00:29:47
Speaker 2: To go to the outback and hang out with baby dog to baby dogs sit on the side of the baby dog.

00:29:53
Speaker 3: Drew thoughts on that as a as a as an office space.

00:29:57
Speaker 4: My first thought as a former server is going to work and you're like, I got justice and that damn dog again taking up a table and you're sitting there all day asking for refills. The dog's get a little water, and I'm gonna get into five dollars. So I think about that poor server who is losing a table for their whole day because Jim Chitz can't take his dog to an office like an normal person.

00:30:18
Speaker 3: What about Ryan? Do you like making out back your your workplace?

00:30:22
Speaker 5: He's so full of crap. He's not working, he's watching ball game, drinking beer at all. No, he's just sitting there hanging out. You can get some social interaction. He's not working, he's watching a ball game on one of the TV How.

00:30:35
Speaker 4: Many how many loaves of free bread.

00:30:37
Speaker 3: Is he exactly? I would think it would be very unhealthy to work it out back, because you know, you're just sitting there eating the bread the whole day.

00:30:45
Speaker 2: You know, I was a server out back for about two months, and I can't imagine having to take care of that guy and baby dog, baby baby dog.

00:30:54
Speaker 4: Imagine working with him. He passes you a bill and his greasy, blooming onion fingers are all over. There is this ketchup page three, like, do you've not had a place you can work?

00:31:02
Speaker 6: Could you get your Alice Springs chicken off? The bill plays.

00:31:09
Speaker 3: It's Senate Bill three eleven. Why is there a mustard stain? Who's next?

00:31:16
Speaker 6: Let's go to Will?

00:31:17
Speaker 3: Will go ahead? Will?

00:31:20
Speaker 9: Hey, Matt, thanks for taking my call.

00:31:23
Speaker 3: What's up?

00:31:26
Speaker 9: Hey? I'm Danville, Kentucky, and I wanted to give you a little Arkansas background. My wife and I moved to Arkansas to work for a friend of mine about twelve years ago. We lived in Hot Springs and you mentioned that it was a nice place. It might have been a nice place in the early sixties, maybe late late sixties, early seventies. It's a crappy place now. There's also a town there's a part of Hot Springs called Hot Springs Village, one of the biggest retirement communities in America.

00:31:57
Speaker 8: We lived there with our two year old son for a while.

00:31:59
Speaker 9: My wife stayed home with my son and she would have cocktail hour every day with these random old people starting about three o'clock. And it started to wear on her because I would come home and I'd be like, well, Andrew, wear's Nancy today? And she'd be like, oh, she died yesterday, you know. So we kept losing our neighbors and our cocktail our friends.

00:32:20
Speaker 3: Why we end up moving back.

00:32:21
Speaker 7: We moved back to Kentucky.

00:32:23
Speaker 3: Why did you live in a retirement community? Though, I mean, aren't you kind of setting with yourself up for that you all were young. Why did you move into a retirement community?

00:32:32
Speaker 9: Because there are multiple lakes there, and there are eight golf courses within the gate gated community and a big golfer So.

00:32:40
Speaker 3: We'll live with old people as long as I can play.

00:32:44
Speaker 9: Golf exactly and enjoy the lake. And one more thing about the lake area of Hot Springs, uh goes back to Bill Clinton when he was president. So there's two big lakes and Hot Springs one is Lake Hamilton. I can't remember the other one, but they had a big rain event. Clinton's family lived on Lake Hamilton, and they had to make a decision to open the flood gates and flood the bottom lake so Clinton's family's homes wouldn't be destroyed in the flood.

00:33:16
Speaker 3: Well, I understand that. I appreciate the call. I can uh uh. You know, I always think about We've talked about this on the show before, Ryan, when they would decide to flood these towns back in the day from the Sea Valley Authority, Like, how did they Can you imagine if you just decided tomorrow we're flooding Barberful, You're gone, get out.

00:33:35
Speaker 5: Yeah, how did they pick lose their minds? How would you pick town?

00:33:40
Speaker 3: Back in the day, they would just tell people you're.

00:33:43
Speaker 5: Out, gone, yep town.

00:33:47
Speaker 3: Like nowadays, it's amazing to think that that happened without like civil unrest.

00:33:53
Speaker 5: So like Lake Cumberlin is like over on top of a couple of cities over there.

00:33:56
Speaker 3: No, there's a lot of towns in Kentucky that were flooded. Yeah, they will live there, and they just said get out.

00:34:02
Speaker 5: Get out, We're gonna flood your town.

00:34:03
Speaker 3: It's crazy to think about that cornbread hemp. If you need to rest, relax, go to cornbread hemp full spectrum, flour only hemp CBD gummies. They help you sleep, they help you get a night's rest. Let's say you're struggling sleeping, You're sitting there, what do I do? Cornbread hemp is the way it's worked for me, It's worked for many people on this show, and it can work for you. Buy one, get one fifty percent off through tomorrow. This is only through tomorrow. Go to use the promo code don't quit, dont quit through tomorrow. By one, get fifty percent off. It is cornbreadhimp dot com. Try it out. I promise once you try, you'll keep using it. It's cornbread hemp. We'll take a break. Very backs, Kiazar, welcome back, take you sports radium. Apparently, when Jim Justice was the governor Drew of West Virginia, he would bring his dog, baby Dog to all the press conferences. It would be him, the sign language payer and the dog. I mean, you know, I may tie that. I'm kind of with Billy On like with Kirk herb Street and the dog. Like it's fine if you just want me to see your dog, but your dog can't be part of everything you do.

00:35:14
Speaker 4: I like dogs, and I agree with you, Jim. Leave the dog out back for an hour, go to your press conference.

00:35:21
Speaker 3: If you were at the server, would you like watching over baby dog for an hour? Not at all.

00:35:25
Speaker 4: But I'm very pro dog. But I agree same for herb Street. You don't have to take him everywhere. You don't have to take your.

00:35:32
Speaker 3: Child every like when you're in a public job, like you don't have to have your dog and your kid running around.

00:35:40
Speaker 5: Time and place for things. That's not the right time, in the right place. I do have a fun fact about Jim Justice, go for it. Apparently he owns the Greenbrier Hotel.

00:35:48
Speaker 3: Yeah. I think he owes some coal mines, or he owes some taxes in Kentucky. It was like thirty five million dollars to the state of Kentucky. Doesn't he Let's go buy the hotel.

00:35:58
Speaker 2: And we're gonna take the baby dog as collateral. Give me the thirty five million.

00:36:04
Speaker 4: I don't think you should be allowed to have another blooming onion until he pays his debts. He's paying his out back tab.

00:36:10
Speaker 3: It's a good question. Channy excited about the Royal Rumble tomorrow.

00:36:14
Speaker 2: Uh, somewhat I'm gonna watch. It's gonna be weird because it's gonna be at two o'clock in the afternoon. It's in Saudi Arabia, right, Yeah, yeah, I don't.

00:36:22
Speaker 3: I don't like it being in Saudi ra I don't like it being two in the afternoon.

00:36:25
Speaker 2: I just don't really watch current wrestling. So unless there's somebody that's like old school that's coming back, it's.

00:36:31
Speaker 3: Gonna be going on during the pregame show tomorrow run and so actually I'll have it on during the uh, during the pregame. So that's it's.

00:36:39
Speaker 5: Weird to watch Sportune on ESPN and they're breaking down the Royal run.

00:36:42
Speaker 6: It is weird.

00:36:43
Speaker 2: It's weird like they're breaking down a basketball game or something.

00:36:46
Speaker 3: No, but like I find it really weird. Yeah, it's like we would be like breaking like they don't break down a movie.

00:36:53
Speaker 2: I know, but you know, for the for the amount of for the money that WW is paying the ESPN, I.

00:36:58
Speaker 3: Know, but they treat it.

00:37:00
Speaker 6: Because they're being paid to I know.

00:37:02
Speaker 4: But they're like Austin or Rawlins or Lesnar like they're wondering why their ratings are going down.

00:37:10
Speaker 6: You bet that on DraftKings, I'm surprised.

00:37:13
Speaker 3: I don't. I'm surprised they haven't done the betting on the stuff yet. Problem is you can't do it, though, because somebody can fix it.

00:37:18
Speaker 6: Sure, Yeah, yeah, I mean you could.

00:37:22
Speaker 3: That's why. That's why, that's why I don't think you can do it.

00:37:24
Speaker 6: Who's next, David and Little Rock?

00:37:27
Speaker 3: David, go ahead, David.

00:37:30
Speaker 7: Yeah, if you think you're uptight about this game, you ought to have to live down here. Uh tell tell Billy, Tell Billy. I'll do the damn post game show. I'm sure I'm going to have a few things to get off my chet after this one. Yeah, listen, this is always for Cat fans living down here, which I have to do. I have had to do for many years. This has always been the most you know, tension filled game on the schedule, going way back, well since Arkansas joined the league. But the last two years has been just unbearable. I mean, it's just this people. People. Of course, I have a reputation being the Kentucky fan, and people will stop me. I have this old guy at church that likes to say we stole your coach, you know, and the assumptions, the assumptions that these Arkansas fans make just boggle my mind, you know. And currently their assumption is that we're just hankering to get Cow back or we're just pining, you know, for for Cal to come back and save us and be our coach. You know, they want that to be the fact. They want it to be the case that we hated to losing.

00:38:44
Speaker 3: You know.

00:38:45
Speaker 7: Uh, anyway, they're they're way off.

00:38:49
Speaker 10: Let me say go ahead.

00:38:53
Speaker 7: Well, the only other thing I was going to say, I'll push back a little bit on the guy from Danzel because on Hot Springs, because it's fairly nice. I mean, you know, it reminds me of parts of Kentucky. Actually it's somewhat you know, it's somewhat mountainous, so it sort of reminds me of getting over Richmond or London or you know, toward toward the mountains of Kentucky a little bit. It's it's pretty nice. The other lake he was talking about is Lake Washita, So Lake was Gita and Lake Hamilton.

00:39:23
Speaker 3: I'm sorry right to cut you off because we're gonna have to make our predictions, but enjoy good luck. Tomorrow on the game. I appreciate the call. All right, let's talk about it. Game starts at six thirty pregame show, we'll start at four o'clock. We will go at four o'clock tomorrow right here, getting ready for it. The watch party is tomorrow night at KS Bar with Ryan Lemon and John cal Perry. Ryan, if we win, shirt off.

00:39:46
Speaker 5: Oh fair, shirt and pants.

00:39:48
Speaker 6: Probably if we win this game again, pants huh.

00:39:51
Speaker 3: He just he can't.

00:39:52
Speaker 5: I'll go outside, run around.

00:39:53
Speaker 3: Then he cannot be normal if any way again, just gets worse every time. Just it's worse as it goes. I'm gonna go to DraftKings, so before he does it, go to DraftKings dot com. Bet five win two hundred dollars Kats in Arkansas. Use my promo code KSR. Arkansas is a seven and a half point favorite at this moment, Shannon, what's gonna happen?

00:40:17
Speaker 2: Unfortunately? I think Arkansas wins and covers. I'll say eighty five seventy six Arkansas. I think Oway has a good game. I think he scores twenty again.

00:40:26
Speaker 3: Drew, give me the case. Be optimistic for a second. Didn't make your regular pick.

00:40:30
Speaker 4: Give me this is natural. I actually have this feeling. I mean, Arkansas's most likely gonna win. If I had to put money on it, I'd pick them to cover. But I have not forgotten that every time I think John Caliperry's gonna win a game, he can throw it in. I mean, I haven't ruled out the possibility that they can't make a three, we get kind of hot, or he does to take the air out of the ball thing like we've all seen this movie many times where he has a game he's supposed to win and drops the ball. I do think we end up losing it, But that scenario exists out there. I'll say eighty seventy two a half point covered, but don't don't sleep on those.

00:41:05
Speaker 3: That's not very optimistic.

00:41:07
Speaker 4: You have them covering, that's the most likely scenario. But people saying they're gonna win by thirty. There's a world where he we've we've all seen it, we lived it. He has He's very capable of the dud in big games, so that that scenario exists. But if I had to put money on it, I'll say they barely cover the spread.

00:41:23
Speaker 5: That's out now, all right, Ryan rule of seventy one cats score seventy two points. Unfortunately, this game is a rule of eighty one eighty five seventy two Arkansas. I just don't have any confidence in this team at all right now.

00:41:39
Speaker 3: So I mean, people are gonna see Darius a cup for for for Arkansas. He's probably the leader right now for SC Player of the Year. He's one of the great He's gonna go down as one of the great col point guards. And he's really really good, really good. I don't want to underestimate what Drew says, though cal Can put up clunkers. Last year, they came in one and six, they were awful. They ended up getting the win and it turned their season round. I don't think we're gonna win, but I also don't think it's implausible that this game comes down to the end. LSU was up big on Arkansas and blew and then ended up losing at the end in Arkansas. So it is plausible. One of two things is gonna happen. It's gonna come down to a minute to go and either team can win or we're gonna lose by thirty. To me, there's no middle ground. One of those two things is gonna happen. I'm gonna say it's the first. I'm gonna say we lose seventy eight, seventy six. But one of those two things will happen and we'll know Ryan. But then, the first six minutes of the game, you raised a ten.

00:42:49
Speaker 5: If Arkansols have got it, they're on their way.

00:42:51
Speaker 3: If we raced twenty five, if they're up fifteen, it's over. That's what I'm worried about. We'll see tomorrow, Smith Kasar
