<v Speaker 1>He'll be don't be bad. It's the Internet. You're busy.
<v Speaker 2>Let's do this for August twenty first, twenty twenty four.
<v Speaker 2>For the next hour or so, let me help you
<v Speaker 2>sort through the world of gaming on Game Mess Mornings
<v Speaker 2>Live with me Jeff Grubb. Today, games Com has begun
<v Speaker 2>and we have a new Xbox. Phil Spencer's promising more
<v Speaker 2>changes are to come for video games and road Craft.
<v Speaker 2>But first please join me and welcome in today's co
<v Speaker 2>host the Game Mess Mornings. It's Sean Turbo, Sean McDowell. Sean,
<v Speaker 2>how are you doing, Jeff?
<v Speaker 3>I have very important breaking news.
<v Speaker 1>I hope it's about Roadcraft.
<v Speaker 3>So the McDonald's Happy Meal toy currently it is you Hello, Kitty, Yeah, Blush,
<v Speaker 3>geez dresses, various U yo characters. It's insane.
<v Speaker 2>Oh okay, so that's how it works. Okay, because yes,
<v Speaker 2>we got the box yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>The kids. Uh, it was busy night.
<v Speaker 2>We had to do a bunch of shows and that
<v Speaker 2>I was showed in the evening. So I'm just gonna
<v Speaker 2>run got McDonald's. It's our closest restaurant. I can get
<v Speaker 2>there in a minute, So with to go get happy
<v Speaker 2>Meals and I was like doing. I was doing the
<v Speaker 2>app because I'm not an idiot, right, I'm not a sucker.
<v Speaker 2>I was using the app, gonna get my point, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>going to get the deals, get the deals. And I
<v Speaker 2>saw it's like you could select the happy Meal toy
<v Speaker 2>and it said Hello Kitty slash Yu Gi.
<v Speaker 1>Oh.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like what uh And we got the box and
<v Speaker 2>it is half you Gio, half Hello Kitty.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I still didn't understand. And then we opened it up
<v Speaker 2>and they still gave us the old toy that they've
<v Speaker 2>been having for the last few weeks, which are the
<v Speaker 2>the Panini Olympic.
<v Speaker 3>Cards, which the kids the hell's that mean?
<v Speaker 2>Panini cards are like sports collector cards basically, but they
<v Speaker 2>just dated for Olympic athletes instead of real sports stars.
<v Speaker 3>I got a refund right there on the spot.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I'm sure we'll have it.
<v Speaker 2>We'll be back there because stuff was trapped so well
<v Speaker 2>here in the next couple of days.
<v Speaker 3>That's my lunch for to day, man. I can get
<v Speaker 3>Hello Kitty, Dark Magician girl, I get dressed up as
<v Speaker 3>a blue eyes white dragon as Exodia. My day has
<v Speaker 3>been made up. I'm so happy.
<v Speaker 2>Uh huh, I know, I know. What you're saying. I
<v Speaker 2>was brought that home and Emmy was like, guess what
<v Speaker 2>of these characters I like the best? And I'm like, hello, kitty.
<v Speaker 2>She points to the mister yukioh.
<v Speaker 3>Is that his name, mister yoh himself?
<v Speaker 1>Yes?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah am I Oh okay, Well it's already happened. The
<v Speaker 2>sickness has taken her.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>So I don't know why she prefers to yu gi oh,
<v Speaker 2>but that's uh, that's what's happened in my life.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I uh, we'll get back there. We'll check that out.
<v Speaker 2>I am mostly over here, like, okay, I can't believe
<v Speaker 2>summer break is over.
<v Speaker 1>Kids are going back to school. Uh that flew by.
<v Speaker 3>What's going for you?
<v Speaker 2>It's going it's busy. Uh, they'll honestly, they haven't even
<v Speaker 2>started class yet. We're still just doing like open house
<v Speaker 2>and bring in like, you know stuff. Used to be
<v Speaker 2>a teacher, so we provide a lot of supplies and presence.
<v Speaker 1>To the teachers to the beginning of the school year.
<v Speaker 2>So a lot of get a lot of that stuff together,
<v Speaker 2>making sure I don't forget because again I'm the one
<v Speaker 2>doing this because she's out of town.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm like Okay, when is this thing? I got
<v Speaker 1>to do a thing today.
<v Speaker 2>So it's it's just a lot of odd things because
<v Speaker 2>it's very easy to get into the rhythm of, well,
<v Speaker 2>every day, I got to get up super early, take
<v Speaker 2>these kids to school, come back home, get ready for
<v Speaker 2>games morning. So that's a routine I can get used
<v Speaker 2>to pretty quickly at the beginning of the year, when
<v Speaker 2>it's like, oh and randomly on a Wednesday at four pm,
<v Speaker 2>you got to be at this school with this kid.
<v Speaker 2>But now stuff's gone with both kids because there's an
<v Speaker 2>open house and then there's a and then the next
<v Speaker 2>day at a different time, there's going to be an
<v Speaker 2>assessment for the school year, so the kid, they know
<v Speaker 2>where to place the kid and all that stuff. So
<v Speaker 2>just kind of keeping track of those things is a
<v Speaker 2>little bit difficult for me, but we're getting on top
<v Speaker 2>of it. We're going to get through it, and most
<v Speaker 2>of them just okay, well the school years here, things
<v Speaker 2>will start cooling off and I'll feel better.
<v Speaker 1>I like that. But also it's like picking up for
<v Speaker 1>games a lot. I mean it was.
<v Speaker 2>It never slowed down a ton for me. I was
<v Speaker 2>always playing a lot of games throughout summer, Sean. But
<v Speaker 2>right now there is just like ten games I want
<v Speaker 2>to be playing at any one time.
<v Speaker 1>It's getting out of hand. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>We talk about, you know, summer season being slow, being
<v Speaker 3>a year being slow of historically at least, and that's
<v Speaker 3>just not true anymore. There's just always games we knew.
<v Speaker 3>We can never find the time anymore. That's why I
<v Speaker 3>still haven't gotten around to at least finishing some of
<v Speaker 3>the games that I wanted to play earlier in the year,
<v Speaker 3>let alone getting around to some of them. So yeah,
<v Speaker 3>just a crazy time all around, and I'm trying to
<v Speaker 3>get caught up here since things are in a slight level.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, yeah, major releases come out as soon as well,
<v Speaker 3>like next week.
<v Speaker 1>Yep. For really, I mean I'm playing I'm playing Star
<v Speaker 1>Wars Outlaws right now.
<v Speaker 2>I could say that much, okay, And that's taking up
<v Speaker 2>a lot of time a disco leaseems when I was
<v Speaker 2>catching up on now, I'm like, man, I had so
<v Speaker 2>much momentum with that.
<v Speaker 1>I to put that back down.
<v Speaker 2>I bet that's going to be a problem for me
<v Speaker 2>actually completing that game, which was which was my goal.
<v Speaker 2>Plucky Squire got preview code for that.
<v Speaker 1>I've been playing a lot of that. It's really fun.
<v Speaker 2>It's really good so far in a preview capacity, on
<v Speaker 2>a review capacity, it's very fun. So yeah, and those
<v Speaker 2>are games that are just aren't out yet and are coming.
<v Speaker 2>Let alone, all the games are like I want to
<v Speaker 2>try Blackmith wukon I do. I'm curious, like, how are
<v Speaker 2>you feeling about getting in there checking that game out,
<v Speaker 2>because it sounds like it might lean more towards action
<v Speaker 2>or character action than yeah Souls, and I know that'd
<v Speaker 2>be more your thing.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, so it is more my thing. That makes me
<v Speaker 3>a little more interested. I watched Alex's DF you know,
<v Speaker 3>review of the PC version last night, and you know,
<v Speaker 3>he had good things to say about the visuals, the
<v Speaker 3>performance being mostly solid with some iffy moments. So it's like, okay, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I could give this on my PC running decently at least,
<v Speaker 3>and if it is more action based, like people are saying,
<v Speaker 3>that may have been disappointing for Souls fans, but action
<v Speaker 3>game fans, you know, character action fans like myself seemed
<v Speaker 3>to be enjoying it, so I might check it out.
<v Speaker 3>It might be more on my alley that I thought
<v Speaker 3>I would.
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna I'm gonna check it out. There was, and
<v Speaker 2>there's like I keep saying to myself, Oh gonna I
<v Speaker 2>need to play that. That sounds good, and that sounds good,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm like losing track at this point. So a
<v Speaker 2>lot of games are happening. But here's the good news.
<v Speaker 2>Even more is happening. As we will get into the
<v Speaker 2>news here in a second. Let's explain what we do
<v Speaker 2>here first. Most weekdays, I Jeff Grubb, will help piece
<v Speaker 2>your gaming life back together. That includes breaking news and
<v Speaker 2>maybe even some of our own original reporting. For all
<v Speaker 2>these topics, I'll get the input of a bona fide
<v Speaker 2>expert who will make me look smart.
<v Speaker 1>If you were watching live on Twitch, welcome.
<v Speaker 2>You can always listen to the show later on podcast
<v Speaker 2>feeds by searching for game Mes Mornings, or find therss
<v Speaker 2>on giant bomb dot com. You can also catch the
<v Speaker 2>show later with chapters and timestamps on YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 2>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 2>let's start the morning mess with digital only. Xbox Series
<v Speaker 2>X release date has been announced. This is from Jordan
<v Speaker 2>Mieler at VGCNE. We'll get into the Games Comm Opening
<v Speaker 2>Night Live stuff here in a second. That's gonna be
<v Speaker 2>a it's gonna be a lot. We're not gonna go
<v Speaker 2>over everything, but we'll do this stuff first because we'll
<v Speaker 2>miss it if we don't. Microsoft has announced the release
<v Speaker 2>date for the digital only Xbox Series X the two
<v Speaker 2>other console variants. The white disc liss one terabyte console
<v Speaker 2>will be released on October fifteenth, with selected countries following
<v Speaker 2>on October twenty ninth. This console will be released alongside
<v Speaker 2>a white one terabyte Xbox Series S and a special
<v Speaker 2>edition two terabyte Galaxy Black Xbox Series X with a
<v Speaker 2>disc tray. The three consoles are currently available to pre
<v Speaker 2>order now and according to Microsoft, will be made available
<v Speaker 2>in all currently supported Xbox hardware regions. Experience the fastest,
<v Speaker 2>most powerful Xbox ever with the Xbox Series X now
<v Speaker 2>with a two terabyte SSD in a special edition Galaxy
<v Speaker 2>Black xboxes official description reads, Yeah, new variants, not too exciting.
<v Speaker 2>Kind of the kind of thing you know you expect
<v Speaker 2>when they say, hey, we're not going to do a
<v Speaker 2>pro variant or a more powerful variant of the Xbox, Well,
<v Speaker 2>that doesn't mean they're not going to have some variant.
<v Speaker 2>They're going to just increase the size of the SSD
<v Speaker 2>and sell to people again. The two terabyte one, I
<v Speaker 2>believe is five hundred and ninety nine dollars ninety nine cents.
<v Speaker 2>It's a six hundred dollars console. So overall price is
<v Speaker 2>still not going down. Prices aren't kind of doing their
<v Speaker 2>thing where it's say, hey, no, the one terabyte one's
<v Speaker 2>going to keep you in that price, And now that
<v Speaker 2>we have a new model, we are finding ways to
<v Speaker 2>increase the price even further.
<v Speaker 1>What do you think?
<v Speaker 3>First of all, I think you should turn on headlines.
<v Speaker 1>Second of all, show you're so needy? God, there it is.
<v Speaker 3>This thing sucks. I'm sorry, y'all, if you buy this,
<v Speaker 3>you're getting duped fifty dollars less to never be able
<v Speaker 3>to put disc. By the way, I'm glad we can
<v Speaker 3>say digital only because disc less boy not as much
<v Speaker 3>of a minefield that we're walking on there. But I
<v Speaker 3>don't want to be saying that all the time.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's it just reminds me of the Ghostbusters quote.
<v Speaker 2>It's like, yes, it's true, this man has no disc
<v Speaker 2>is what I keep thinking.
<v Speaker 3>So, what how does snuck you up to you?
<v Speaker 1>All? Right? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Stream Elements was lagging today apparently on top of it. Now,
<v Speaker 3>fifty dollars less to never put a disc in your
<v Speaker 3>Xbox is you getting taken for a ride, right there,
<v Speaker 3>Just spend fifty dollars more and have the option or
<v Speaker 3>bargain being games, use games, all that stuff, and that
<v Speaker 3>is what you're about.
<v Speaker 2>It's the white diskless digital only one terabyte version of this,
<v Speaker 2>right that's the way. That's fifty dollars Yes, you know
<v Speaker 2>it's a discount, right, but you're fifty dollars more, and
<v Speaker 2>you can you'll end up if you do buy physical games, you'll.
<v Speaker 1>End up saving that much money in no.
<v Speaker 3>Time exactly, like as soon as like two games in
<v Speaker 3>especially if you're buying games that have already come out
<v Speaker 3>and are on sale and you get them for like
<v Speaker 3>half price, which absolutely happens, especially when it comes to
<v Speaker 3>Black Friday, where the deals are cheaper in person in
<v Speaker 3>your Target or even on Target dot com or wherever
<v Speaker 3>you shop Amazon and where you get that physical copy
<v Speaker 3>on the cheap. So but plus, you know, you, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it's different when it's you know, the series S which
<v Speaker 3>is you know, obviously a lot of our cuts there,
<v Speaker 3>but two hundred dollars less, that makes a little more sense.
<v Speaker 3>Especially if it's a game pass machine, but not like
<v Speaker 3>the option is just absolutely worth the cost. So I
<v Speaker 3>think this is a and is basically just indicative of
<v Speaker 3>them trying to move away from disks in general and
<v Speaker 3>move people onto digital in game pass and anything like that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think.
<v Speaker 2>It's hard to tell, like exactly where the imptus comes from.
<v Speaker 2>Obviously they want to sell more digital games. That's beneficial
<v Speaker 2>to them, they save money on that. But it's like
<v Speaker 2>our people be buying eystem lock you and yes, exactly,
<v Speaker 2>there's a lot of factors. But you know, is it
<v Speaker 2>mostly coming from the fact that they're selling fewer digital
<v Speaker 2>games or they want to kind of like force people
<v Speaker 2>to buy fewer physical games. Either way, it doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 2>This is the way it's always it's always been heading
<v Speaker 2>for these companies. They tried to rip the band Aid
<v Speaker 2>off and do this with the Xbox One at launch
<v Speaker 2>in a lot of ways. You know, clearly it wasn't
<v Speaker 2>going to be just digital only, but they were doing
<v Speaker 2>a lot of the similar stuff at that time. And
<v Speaker 2>now they've sort of been able to nudge us in
<v Speaker 2>this direction for a long enough period of time that
<v Speaker 2>here we are. You know, hey, if you really want
<v Speaker 2>a disc still to you get even more storage to
<v Speaker 2>terabyte for that Galaxy Black addition.
<v Speaker 3>And actually, I will say looks nice and the extra
<v Speaker 3>terrabyte is not bad. You said it's only one hundred
<v Speaker 3>bucks more.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's six hundred dollars total. Yes, that's right.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, yeah, that's not awful. I guess for an extra terabyte,
<v Speaker 3>you know from the manufacturer, and you're getting technically a
<v Speaker 3>limited edition. Take it from me, someone who is smart
<v Speaker 3>and saves all my boxes from the consoles I buy
<v Speaker 3>and don't just chuck them out immediately. You can get
<v Speaker 3>a lot of money on the second hand market if
<v Speaker 3>you have a special edition console. So if you are true, yes,
<v Speaker 3>I I'm not sure how many people are in the
<v Speaker 3>market for a Series X at this point, but like
<v Speaker 3>if you were looking pick one up, this would be
<v Speaker 3>the one to get because that extra hundred will probably
<v Speaker 3>like translate to a couple hundred players down the road. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>and you get that, you know, the Series X with
<v Speaker 3>the extra storage and the disc tray and everything like that.
<v Speaker 3>It's I would get that one. I would, you know,
<v Speaker 3>I know Mike can be tight. I would save up
<v Speaker 3>a little bit more and get that one.
<v Speaker 1>Yep. Absolutely.
<v Speaker 2>This all kind of came out as Microsoft was doing
<v Speaker 2>their stream for games Com. They had a bunch of
<v Speaker 2>other sort of announcements or roundtables or in depth looks
<v Speaker 2>at various games. They also talked a little bit more
<v Speaker 2>about what's happening with game Pass and Core and Standard tiers.
<v Speaker 2>Xbox confirms Core and Standard game Pass tiers will wait
<v Speaker 2>up to twelve months or more for first party games
<v Speaker 2>going forward. This is from the Keey Blake at Games
<v Speaker 2>in the Street up is. Microsoft has confirmed that subscribers
<v Speaker 2>who pay for its Core and Standard tiers of its
<v Speaker 2>Game Pass subscription service may not be able to play
<v Speaker 2>titles from its first party studios up to twelve months
<v Speaker 2>or more after release, clarifying the substantive substantive changes it
<v Speaker 2>made to its Xbox game Pass services last month. Microsoft
<v Speaker 2>confirmed in a recent Xbox wire post that only the
<v Speaker 2>twelve dollars per month PC Tier and the twenty dollars
<v Speaker 2>per month Ultimate Tier will benefit from eaplay membership and
<v Speaker 2>access to Xbox's Day one titles. We've known that instead
<v Speaker 2>subscribers to Core and the upcoming Standard, which are ten
<v Speaker 2>and fIF teen dollars respectively. Those tiers will get a
<v Speaker 2>curated catalog of twenty five high quality games on console
<v Speaker 2>and hundreds of high quality games. High quality games on
<v Speaker 2>console and hundred of high quality games on console. It's
<v Speaker 2>the same thing, oh, I guess respectively.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>All console tiers will get online console membership, and all
<v Speaker 2>four tiers will receive member deals and discounts. Up until
<v Speaker 2>this point, it had not been clear how long Standard
<v Speaker 2>and Core subscribers would have to wait to play the
<v Speaker 2>day one first party releases that used to be included
<v Speaker 2>in game Pass. Some games coming to game Pass Ultimate
<v Speaker 2>Day one, Day one games or other game entries will
<v Speaker 2>not be immediately available with game Pass Standard and many will.
<v Speaker 1>It may be added to the library at.
<v Speaker 2>A future date, and then in parentheses series says can
<v Speaker 2>be up to twelve months or more and will vary
<v Speaker 2>by title, wrote senior Community lead Xbox for Xbox game Pass,
<v Speaker 2>Megan Spur. That's you know, I guess they're saying it
<v Speaker 2>could be can be up to twelve months and will
<v Speaker 2>vary by title, So I guess they still have wiggle
<v Speaker 2>room here to do something within six months, which I
<v Speaker 2>was kind of expecting. Six months A year feels pretty extreme,
<v Speaker 2>but I guess, and in some cases that can fly.
<v Speaker 1>But I mean, I guess.
<v Speaker 2>The point is, like, you know, PlayStation users only have
<v Speaker 2>to wait a little bit to be able to buy
<v Speaker 2>Indiana Jones, like a few months. The Game Pass subscribers
<v Speaker 2>on the standard tier to kind of get the thing
<v Speaker 2>that they've been accustomed to or that they've heard Microsoft
<v Speaker 2>say for a long time, might have to start waiting
<v Speaker 2>up to a year. I don't know, it seems a
<v Speaker 2>little bit long to me.
<v Speaker 1>What do you think?
<v Speaker 3>First of all, this branding sucks because I had to
<v Speaker 3>bring up the chart toalk get some of this stuff,
<v Speaker 3>and because some of that phrasing, actually I thought was
<v Speaker 3>contradictory to stuff that they've said in the past. I
<v Speaker 3>wish I would have known your were in that shirt, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>because I have the same one. Jee oh yeah, but yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it is just game Pass Core is Xbox Live Gold.
<v Speaker 3>It still has that games with Gold kind of ish catalog.
<v Speaker 3>And then game Pass Standard is game Pass as you
<v Speaker 3>know it. But you got the shaft by not having
<v Speaker 3>the day one releases. Everything else is basically the same.
<v Speaker 3>I just had to remember that, Oh right, they discrewed
<v Speaker 3>our customers. Of course they did it, just it feels bad.
<v Speaker 3>It feels scummy to like take away what made game
<v Speaker 3>Pass game Pass and to now say, well, if you're
<v Speaker 3>a premium game Pass member, then you get this, No,
<v Speaker 3>the beauty of game Pass. And we've talked about this
<v Speaker 3>a little bit, I think even on this show where
<v Speaker 3>you know, best deal in gaming. I'm sure that's not
<v Speaker 3>great for their bottom line, but it's a great way
<v Speaker 3>to like market to people, to market to your friends.
<v Speaker 3>I've marketed to my friends as well, and they're on
<v Speaker 3>game Pass. And guess what, after talking to them about
<v Speaker 3>those changes that we're coming and now I've taken into
<v Speaker 3>effect or whatever, they turned off auto or new and
<v Speaker 3>they're like, well, I'm just not gonna do game Pass anymore. Then,
<v Speaker 3>Like when Call of Duty comes out, sure, because that's
<v Speaker 3>a cheaper way of play Called Duty, when Indie comes out,
<v Speaker 3>because I'm an India Jones fan, I'll play it there.
<v Speaker 3>But otherwise people I knew who head on auto renew
<v Speaker 3>are not going to do it anymore. Microsoft just lost
<v Speaker 3>customers right there. I don't know what the business strategy
<v Speaker 3>was here, really who they thought they were? Like, I
<v Speaker 3>guess the people who they assume are just going to
<v Speaker 3>leave it on. But I think simultaneously, the average consumer
<v Speaker 3>is dumber than you'd think and smarter than you think
<v Speaker 3>because they're getting good at saving their own money. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>and I think, you know, you have more exactly, more
<v Speaker 3>coupon cutters, more people looking for deals, more people stay
<v Speaker 3>on topplayer subscriptions, and so I don't know. I'm sure
<v Speaker 3>they are like there's a gotcha here, but I feel
<v Speaker 3>like they probably this has backfired in some way. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>And it's just gut feeling.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think they do this unless they absolutely felt
<v Speaker 2>the need to make more money right now. And you know,
<v Speaker 2>and we'll get to that here in a second. And
<v Speaker 2>Phil Spencer basically says we need to make more money
<v Speaker 2>right now is when he talks about Xbox in this moment,
<v Speaker 2>And that's what the business strategy is. It's like, you know,
<v Speaker 2>growth is one thing. We need revenue, Like we wish
<v Speaker 2>we could have growth, that would be ideal. But since
<v Speaker 2>we don't have growth, and we've we've made a bunch
<v Speaker 2>of prom a bunch of promises to investors into Satia
<v Speaker 2>and Adela about where that growth is going to come
<v Speaker 2>from and how fast it's going to happen, and it
<v Speaker 2>doesn't work out that way. Well, now it's like we've
<v Speaker 2>sort of run out of options and it's like, well,
<v Speaker 2>if you don't have growth, you better be making money.
<v Speaker 2>And it's like, okay, well, then we got to shift
<v Speaker 2>from from one model of trying to attract people to
<v Speaker 2>now trying to squeeze as much money out of the
<v Speaker 2>people we do have as possible, and that's just never
<v Speaker 2>going to feel good, and in the process you're going
<v Speaker 2>to lose some people, like.
<v Speaker 1>You were talking about your friends.
<v Speaker 2>That is that's the way it goes with the economies,
<v Speaker 2>or with the sort of economic decision of do you
<v Speaker 2>increase prices that always loses some percentage of customers when
<v Speaker 2>you do that. In this case, I don't know, we'll
<v Speaker 2>just see if it actually pans out for them in
<v Speaker 2>any real way, but it does feel like a bit
<v Speaker 2>of a backed into a corner decision, and these clarifications
<v Speaker 2>just make it feel more like, Okay, we can kind
<v Speaker 2>of see what this is and it's not meant to
<v Speaker 2>be that good feeling you had with game Pass for
<v Speaker 2>several years there.
<v Speaker 1>This is something different. Now.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Phil Spencer did discuss a bunch of things in
<v Speaker 2>a kind of conversation like you know with State Media
<v Speaker 2>did the He talked to an Xbox employee on their
<v Speaker 2>stage at Gamescom, but.
<v Speaker 1>He answered some questions.
<v Speaker 2>This comes from Eddie mccoitt GameSpot, who runs this down
<v Speaker 2>for us, and he specifically talks about Phil Spencer discuss
<v Speaker 2>is bringing Indiana Jones to PS five, saying we run
<v Speaker 2>a business. During games Com this week, Microsoft confirmed rumors
<v Speaker 2>and announced that Indiana Jones and The Great Circle will
<v Speaker 2>come to PlayStation in twenty twenty five, following the game's
<v Speaker 2>debut on Xbox MPC this December. In an interview during
<v Speaker 2>the Xbox Games comm live stream, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil
<v Speaker 2>Spencer explained more about Microsoft's approach to bring in its
<v Speaker 2>own Xbox games to competing platforms. He said it's important
<v Speaker 2>for people to remember that Xbox is a business, and
<v Speaker 2>within Microsoft, Spencer said expectations from CEO Satia Nadella and
<v Speaker 2>cfo Amy Hood are high.
<v Speaker 1>We run a business.
<v Speaker 2>It's definitely true inside of Microsoft that the bar is
<v Speaker 2>high for us in terms of the delivery. We have
<v Speaker 2>to give back to the company. We get a level
<v Speaker 2>of support from Microsoft that is just amazing in what
<v Speaker 2>we're able to go do, Spencer said. In terms of
<v Speaker 2>that support, Microsoft bankrolled the seventy five point four billion
<v Speaker 2>dollar acquisition of Activision Blizzard. This was Microsoft's largest acquisition
<v Speaker 2>by purchase price by far in the company's history. With
<v Speaker 2>that thinking to mind, Spencer set, bringing Xbox games to
<v Speaker 2>competing platforms is going to be a strategy that works
<v Speaker 2>for us to achieve that. Spencer also said Xbox games
<v Speaker 2>coming to competing systems like PlayStation and Switch is an
<v Speaker 2>extension of the changing video game business landscape. As an
<v Speaker 2>industry right now, there is a lot of pressure on
<v Speaker 2>the industry. It's been growing for a long time and
<v Speaker 2>then basically saying and now what hasn't been so much
<v Speaker 2>and now people are looking for ways to grow more
<v Speaker 2>and for us as fans and players of games, we
<v Speaker 2>just have to anticipate that there's going to be more
<v Speaker 2>change in how some of the traditional ways are some
<v Speaker 2>of the traditional ways that games were built and distributed.
<v Speaker 2>That's going to change. That's going to change for all
<v Speaker 2>of us. But the end result has to be better
<v Speaker 2>games that more people can play. If we're not focused
<v Speaker 2>on that, I think we're focused on the wrong things. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean I think this is this is him saying
<v Speaker 2>like these things and the most open way he said it.
<v Speaker 2>Yet all this stuff is in line with how he's
<v Speaker 2>discussed the problems that video games and Microsoft in particular
<v Speaker 2>have been facing in the console space for a long time.
<v Speaker 2>But this sort of sums it up in the most
<v Speaker 2>you know, Okay, yeah, that sounds about right. You are
<v Speaker 2>looking for growth, you haven't been able to find it,
<v Speaker 2>so now you're looking for even more ways to grow,
<v Speaker 2>and that has forced you to make decisions that feel
<v Speaker 2>like see changes to the way the entire video game
<v Speaker 2>industry works. And he's saying, you know, it's going to
<v Speaker 2>change for everybody. He's trying to say PlayStation is likely
<v Speaker 2>going to end up making a lot of these similar decisions,
<v Speaker 2>maybe not to the extreme that Microsoft pass, because Microsoft
<v Speaker 2>isn't making quite as much money as PlayStation from uh,
<v Speaker 2>you know, a dollar spent and then the dollar of
<v Speaker 2>profit that they make from that, but that they still
<v Speaker 2>are like no, everyone's kind of facing these same problems
<v Speaker 2>and that is going to lead two more change. So
<v Speaker 2>this is happening, It has happened, and it's going to
<v Speaker 2>happen again and more frequently it sounds like is that how.
<v Speaker 1>You read this?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean the translation to all of this is
<v Speaker 3>because money. Yeah, because the money is there for the taking.
<v Speaker 3>Why would a company take less money when they take
<v Speaker 3>more money?
<v Speaker 2>Right, and thinking of like, oh, getting people in the
<v Speaker 2>ecosystem and then you can just like make money from
<v Speaker 2>those purchases. But it's like that's sort of been cashed out, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>so they pastures.
<v Speaker 3>Look, I'm not afraid to call you out, Jeff Rubb.
<v Speaker 3>You thought I was an idiot years ago when all
<v Speaker 3>this stuff was happening, when I was like, there's no
<v Speaker 3>way that like all of this stuff remains exclusive to ecspots.
<v Speaker 3>There's no way, I call a dude of all things
<v Speaker 3>is going to because the money. And you were like,
<v Speaker 3>but user acquisition, Sean.
<v Speaker 1>Hey, there was a time when that was cool though. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>And it's uh, I think it's clear that.
<v Speaker 2>I think consumers have just looked around and they're like,
<v Speaker 2>we get we can kind of see through what these
<v Speaker 2>companies are doing, and uh, and yeah, we're excited about
<v Speaker 2>these things. But everything's more expensive than ever in gaming,
<v Speaker 2>The concerts are more expensive than ever, the games continue
<v Speaker 2>to open price and then they're also asking for micro transactions.
<v Speaker 2>And what me and my friends really like when we
<v Speaker 2>sit down to play a game is this game that
<v Speaker 2>we play as a hobby and we can play it anywhere.
<v Speaker 2>And it's sort of kind of pierced the bubble that
<v Speaker 2>consoles lived in, and once that happened, there was no
<v Speaker 2>going back.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like, and here we are.
<v Speaker 2>People are like, why aren't we just playing on PC,
<v Speaker 2>this open platform that doesn't make any promises, and just like,
<v Speaker 2>is what it is and has been for forever, and
<v Speaker 2>it's promising to be that thing with eternity. So I
<v Speaker 2>think that these consoles, once that bubble did verse, there
<v Speaker 2>was no turning back.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, well it's a relatively recent history, which is weird
<v Speaker 3>to think about. But what you know in the ballpark
<v Speaker 3>is seven years ago when Fortnite started taking off as
<v Speaker 3>the Battle Royal, when cross play became commonplace, because you know,
<v Speaker 3>Epic push forards, so you know, like props there for
<v Speaker 3>all the crappy things they've done. But once all of
<v Speaker 3>the biggest games, not just currently but like in history,
<v Speaker 3>are these cross platform games, these multi platform games live
<v Speaker 3>service usually games that people are spending a ton of
<v Speaker 3>money on because they are accessible. I hear people tell
<v Speaker 3>stories of their kids not even thinking about something being exclusive.
<v Speaker 3>I think even one of the studies you brought up
<v Speaker 3>on GMM before has been I think it was Phil
<v Speaker 3>Spencer himself talking about like gen Z and being like, well,
<v Speaker 3>they don't think about things being exclusive to one thing.
<v Speaker 3>They just think about they have their phone, their tablet,
<v Speaker 3>their TV, everything on computer. Everything's everywhere. So why would
<v Speaker 3>a game be exclusive to one place and be very expensive?
<v Speaker 3>Like no, all this stuff should be everywhere and we
<v Speaker 3>get the money as a result. And yeah, that's what
<v Speaker 3>makes sense. That's why these companies are seeing that the
<v Speaker 3>console wars are basically over, y'all, all the all the
<v Speaker 3>Twitter warriors out there with their plastic boxes, losing their minds,
<v Speaker 3>all this stuff. Y'all. You can come home now. It's
<v Speaker 3>fine if you don't have to fight anymore. It's it's
<v Speaker 3>so we're so past that point because you see stuff
<v Speaker 3>like even PlayStation, what's PlayStation doing? Their point the more
<v Speaker 3>and more of their stuff other places, such as on PC.
<v Speaker 3>You know they're licensing out Horizon to go on Switch
<v Speaker 3>even in that Lego game. They are seeing that this
<v Speaker 3>is what's the point of maybe getting like four million
<v Speaker 3>units out the door, when we can just make so
<v Speaker 3>much more money by gaging it to everyone, and we
<v Speaker 3>can have a strategy with maybe phase rollouts and you know,
<v Speaker 3>time exclusivity and everything like that, right, but eventually, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>let's let everyone give us seventy dollars. Why not? And
<v Speaker 3>you talk about ful nerd PC World's podcast being like
<v Speaker 3>the podcast where adults are talking, which, by way, that's
<v Speaker 3>a great podcast. I started listening. Great stuff you start
<v Speaker 3>talking about. That's I know you listen to those too,
<v Speaker 3>But I also think about DF Direct Weekly as that
<v Speaker 3>like Digital Foundries podcast, And hearing Richard Ledbetter, you know,
<v Speaker 3>a guy who's been gainst media for no kidding, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>like longer than most people listening have been alive, like
<v Speaker 3>actually like forty years or something like that, hearing him
<v Speaker 3>talk about this strategy, I think really made it make
<v Speaker 3>even more sense in my brain. Where he's like, the
<v Speaker 3>strategy that Microsoft is clearly moving towards is having their
<v Speaker 3>platform be the one where you can have it be
<v Speaker 3>very accessible. They're trying to gill people just by being everywhere,
<v Speaker 3>which Phil Spencer says, but game pass is that the
<v Speaker 3>low barrier of entry. It is. You know, even if
<v Speaker 3>you get the more basic plan at the fifteen dollars
<v Speaker 3>a month, that is still cheaper than buy a seventy
<v Speaker 3>dollars game. And then the game, maybe times exclusive or whatever,
<v Speaker 3>goes elsewhere and is seventy dollars. So you have those
<v Speaker 3>those two different approaches are how they can kind of
<v Speaker 3>have their cake and eat it too. Of Hey, if
<v Speaker 3>you want the game early, you care enough about it,
<v Speaker 3>play it here, play it cheaper as part of a membership,
<v Speaker 3>you know, as you like to say, like the library
<v Speaker 3>card approach, where like you bay, you don't rent the game,
<v Speaker 3>but you kind of borrow it with all the other
<v Speaker 3>games that you're borrowing. But if you don't like that,
<v Speaker 3>if you want like everything, everything, well then you can
<v Speaker 3>wait for you know, an ind term amount of time,
<v Speaker 3>probably six months, and give them seventy dollars for even
<v Speaker 3>more money. So you kind of have the choice there
<v Speaker 3>and everyone kind of wins. And how is that not
<v Speaker 3>just the best thing for everyone involved.
<v Speaker 2>It's also like, and I think people will be like, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>so this means that Microsoft's going to be a third
<v Speaker 2>party for PlayStation It's like, no, that's thinking too small. Like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean the answers. Yes, they are going to be
<v Speaker 2>a third party on PlayStation, but that's not the strategy.
<v Speaker 2>The strategy is much more longer term and being everywhere
<v Speaker 2>and trying to predict a world that will be a
<v Speaker 2>little less console centric, which seems like we're just barreling
<v Speaker 2>towards constantly and what is that way that looks like
<v Speaker 2>we don't know, and I think they don't know, but
<v Speaker 2>they are building a eight in infrastructure to be ready
<v Speaker 2>for whatever that looks like, so they can kind of
<v Speaker 2>catch that money as it falls down.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, people want to think of the console as the
<v Speaker 3>bastion of how things have been. This is stable, this
<v Speaker 3>is what I know. I want my console, And you know,
<v Speaker 3>they say like I don't want a PC, I don't
<v Speaker 3>want this there, or they are that's fine. But at
<v Speaker 3>the same time, you can't say that it's dumb or
<v Speaker 3>that's bad or that so on and so forth for
<v Speaker 3>this game to be on a different console, because guess what,
<v Speaker 3>then you have the option to just have that console
<v Speaker 3>in it. Like if your deep in ecosystem and you
<v Speaker 3>don't want to leave, that's totally cool. Guess what, your
<v Speaker 3>box will still work they're not taking your box away
<v Speaker 3>from you. But if your next box is the other box, okay,
<v Speaker 3>so what like my VCR wasn't the same one in
<v Speaker 3>the nineties from the previous brand DVD players, so on
<v Speaker 3>and so forth, And we shouldn't think of this weird
<v Speaker 3>console warr stuff in the same way because this was
<v Speaker 3>all it means to an end back in the nineties,
<v Speaker 3>where media companies were just trying to sell you a
<v Speaker 3>piece of media, and they wanted to keep you buying
<v Speaker 3>their piece of media, so they made a really weird
<v Speaker 3>decision that other media formats usually don't really make. So
<v Speaker 3>maybe it's just when they tried it, and it's like exactly,
<v Speaker 3>and like you think Beta max is still around. No,
<v Speaker 3>like everyone just pivoted into a single format with different
<v Speaker 3>variations on the same form. And I think that's what
<v Speaker 3>we're seeing now.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, And I get I mean, I definitely grew up
<v Speaker 2>on consoles, and so I get the thinking that when
<v Speaker 2>you spend a lot of money on these things, you
<v Speaker 2>want to make it feel like that's worth your investment,
<v Speaker 2>and so you want the company to take it seriously
<v Speaker 2>and make it feel special. And they did that for
<v Speaker 2>a very long time. And I think it was a
<v Speaker 2>good business strategy.
<v Speaker 1>It did work. It is just that is too.
<v Speaker 2>Small now and it's it's not it's not the future
<v Speaker 2>trying to build a small walled garden where everyone inside
<v Speaker 2>can feel like they're part, like part of a VIP party. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>you kind of need to build beyond that unless and really,
<v Speaker 2>you know, unless you're Nintendo.
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo can do it, and.
<v Speaker 2>Right, yes, exactly, but then they're the exception almost proves
<v Speaker 2>the rule because everyone that tries to mimic that, it's
<v Speaker 2>like kind of budding up and be like, God, I
<v Speaker 2>wish we could get more growth, and Nintendo's like, well,
<v Speaker 2>we got more growth by just making Zelda again and.
<v Speaker 3>We just made games. Isn't that weird?
<v Speaker 2>But it's like, you know, even PlayStations like we are
<v Speaker 2>looking for more growth anywhere we can find it and
<v Speaker 2>and ethic. So yeah, that the making console players feel
<v Speaker 2>special by having a lot of exclusive games is just
<v Speaker 2>not a strategy that is long for this world, right,
<v Speaker 2>And I think that means it's gonna That doesn't mean
<v Speaker 2>it's not going to feel weird in the meantime, But
<v Speaker 2>I think it's also like something needs to be out
<v Speaker 2>here talking more like this so that people can kind
<v Speaker 2>of get the message a little bit, because I think
<v Speaker 2>they were trying to straddle the line there for a
<v Speaker 2>little bit. And they keep saying they are going to
<v Speaker 2>have hardware, and I'm glad they're gonna have hardware, but
<v Speaker 2>it needs to feel more like a VCR than in
<v Speaker 2>traditional console because that's what it's going to be.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, yeah, just real quick, because you mentioned PlayStation strategy,
<v Speaker 3>just want to say that's on the kind of buried
<v Speaker 3>themselves on a little bit in like making these in
<v Speaker 3>chasing the Big cinemat games. I don't think they realized
<v Speaker 3>how much this was spiral out of control. Yeah, which
<v Speaker 3>is why they're at the point of needing to put
<v Speaker 3>their stuff on PC and start to recuperate costs because
<v Speaker 3>you know, they want to bring people in, get them
<v Speaker 3>in the ecosystem, and that has worked really really well
<v Speaker 3>for them and PSFI is doing well. The problem is
<v Speaker 3>are those games only going to get bigger? And so
<v Speaker 3>that's why they're looking at putting stuff else around. Why
<v Speaker 3>even they are expanding our because you know we mentioned
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo just making games, they make cheap games. Yeah, that's
<v Speaker 3>now what PlayStation is done and that's that's why we're
<v Speaker 3>seeing pivot in strategy.
<v Speaker 1>Right. All right, we're gonna take a quick break.
<v Speaker 2>When we get back, we're gonna get into Games Calm,
<v Speaker 2>Open Night Live and all the biggest announcements from there
<v Speaker 2>right after this. All right, we are back, and we
<v Speaker 2>do have Games Calm, Open Night Live twenty twenty four,
<v Speaker 2>all the biggest announcements. This is from Darren bon Fust
<v Speaker 2>Game Spot. We'll hit these pretty quickly, talk about the
<v Speaker 2>biggest ones. We did talk over this, so if you
<v Speaker 2>want to watch that, that is available on Giant Bomb.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, games like Enzoy, which is that Korean sims
<v Speaker 2>I thought looked pretty promising.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's gonna be.
<v Speaker 3>Huge steamporing game.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, yep, it does look like a lot of those.
<v Speaker 2>Sniper Elite Resistance is a new Sniper Elite has new
<v Speaker 2>protagonists coming out in twenty twenty five. Borderlands four. This
<v Speaker 2>was announced with they cinematic trailer basically a teaser that's
<v Speaker 2>coming out in twenty twenty five. They say they we'll
<v Speaker 2>have more to talk about that soon. Interesting thing that
<v Speaker 2>here is, uh, then people are calling out Randy Pitcher
<v Speaker 2>for this when Borderland's three came out that was exclusive
<v Speaker 2>to the Epic Game Store on PC, and Randy couldn't
<v Speaker 2>help himself came out and was like, and with all
<v Speaker 2>the technology the Epics and investing in Epic is going
<v Speaker 2>to kill Steam, and Steam is gonna look like a
<v Speaker 2>dying platform.
<v Speaker 1>In five years.
<v Speaker 2>So of course Borderlands for launching on Steam and the
<v Speaker 2>Epic Game Store, but whatever, Like, yeah, Randy says a
<v Speaker 2>lot of stuff. Who cares well? I think what this
<v Speaker 2>really says to me, Sean is all those exclusives that
<v Speaker 2>Epic paid for didn't work or how many how many Randy?
<v Speaker 3>How many years to take you? Yes, shopping card on
<v Speaker 3>your sword?
<v Speaker 2>No, shut up, Yeah that's ten, but yes, Rand, but
<v Speaker 2>Randy is definitely like not getting that check again.
<v Speaker 1>So of course launched them.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah it it. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>The investment in Epic as a store just never happened.
<v Speaker 2>So that was also like just a complete mischaracterization of
<v Speaker 2>what was gonna happen there. But yeah, and I think
<v Speaker 2>we could see this from Epic having fewer of these
<v Speaker 2>big triple A exclusives that well exclusives. Really, what they're
<v Speaker 2>doing is just paying to keep them mophones off Steam.
<v Speaker 2>Because you can get them anywhere else, just not on Steam.
<v Speaker 2>And so what they did instead is they're gonna publish
<v Speaker 2>games and they're working teams like Remedy to published games instead,
<v Speaker 2>which I always thought was a better strategy to begin with. Yeah, definitely,
<v Speaker 2>Black Ops six looked dumb and I really liked it.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not gonna get over the guy with the glasses
<v Speaker 2>on the American flag motorcycle doing sweet stunts.
<v Speaker 1>That was cool.
<v Speaker 3>It's an actually moving That's why I wanted.
<v Speaker 2>To be Yeah, and it looked that it looked like
<v Speaker 2>the most like my style of action movie in a
<v Speaker 2>one time, like just an American political thriller sort of.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm down for that.
<v Speaker 2>Goat Simulator remastered Persona three reload episode ages. There was yes,
<v Speaker 2>I guess thank you jokers in this and some sort
<v Speaker 2>of challenge my code.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. This is historically a thing that Persona does where
<v Speaker 3>when they release, you know, their updated version or whatever,
<v Speaker 3>they include like really tough boss fights so you have
<v Speaker 3>something to do with your end game party. And that's
<v Speaker 3>part of what they're doing here is they're adding joker
<v Speaker 3>as like Doravia. You know, Pokemon Gold Silver, you fight
<v Speaker 3>Red at the end you know your character for the
<v Speaker 3>previous game. Kind of what they're doing here.
<v Speaker 2>Dragonball Sparkan zero comes out less than two months. Saw
<v Speaker 2>more of that dyn Light The Beast and Expand alone.
<v Speaker 2>It looks like a twenty hour adventure set in the
<v Speaker 2>dyn Light universe, starring Kyle Crane from the original game.
<v Speaker 2>I'm more interested in that than I think I was
<v Speaker 2>ever even in Dying Light two, which I played probably
<v Speaker 2>twenty hours of and then put it down. The Dark
<v Speaker 2>Pictures Anthology director of eighty twenty New one from That's
<v Speaker 2>super Massive that does dark pictures, right, Let's see Lost Records,
<v Speaker 2>Bloom and Rage from the Life of Strange, Team Infinity
<v Speaker 2>Nikki an open world dress up mmo that looked in I.
<v Speaker 3>Think this looks nice. I think it just looks like
<v Speaker 3>a delightful time.
<v Speaker 2>Should I pick it for my fantasy critic? Do you
<v Speaker 2>think has a chance of doing anything there?
<v Speaker 3>Hell? No, Yeah, I thought so because everyone in Gaves
<v Speaker 3>media is like you.
<v Speaker 2>They're not all like listen, I'll play this for Giant
<v Speaker 2>Bomb dot com. But uh yeah, you did, Princess PC
<v Speaker 2>NICKI exactly. Our graders first announced all the way back
<v Speaker 2>in twenty twenty one. Our Graders is now scheduled to
<v Speaker 2>launch in twenty twenty five, and a play test for
<v Speaker 2>the game will be available in falls from the team
<v Speaker 2>that did the finals whatever.
<v Speaker 1>I can't remember the name of the studio.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, this is one that I think is still
<v Speaker 2>like has people like scratching their head because they originally
<v Speaker 2>saw in twenty twenty one and they waited a long
<v Speaker 2>time to see more from the game, and then this
<v Speaker 2>wasn't a gameplay trailer. This was just another teaser, So
<v Speaker 2>people are still kind of waiting to find out.
<v Speaker 1>What this thing is.
<v Speaker 2>Path of Exile two is watching November fifteenth in early
<v Speaker 2>access King of Meat, which is I guess cooperative or yeah,
<v Speaker 2>competitive co op genre. Maxbomb dot Com, Yeah there was.
<v Speaker 2>I did look into it a little bit, and uh,
<v Speaker 2>I don't I still don't know if max bomb dot
<v Speaker 2>com is directly a reference to us, but I.
<v Speaker 1>Do know that on.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but there was definitely people involved who once they
<v Speaker 2>saw that, were like, oh, we should put in some references,
<v Speaker 2>and I guess those didn't make the final cut, but
<v Speaker 2>those references were like a character named something like Dan saying,
<v Speaker 2>is this is this for shoot? So in the in
<v Speaker 2>the Switch chat there. It was going to be in there,
<v Speaker 2>but it didn't make the cut. Yeah, that would have
<v Speaker 2>been That would been really fun. But yeah, the people
<v Speaker 2>were aware that, like, hey, this sounds like Giant bomb
<v Speaker 2>dot com King of King of Beat. I kind of
<v Speaker 2>forgot what the game is really like. Uh yes, okay, right,
<v Speaker 2>hacking slashing online co op Spectacle. That's like Fall Fall, guys,
<v Speaker 2>it's gonna be too PC PlayStation five, Xbox Series X
<v Speaker 2>and S, and Switch is one of the rare Switch games.
<v Speaker 2>Got announced that this thing Fatal Fury City of the Wolves.
<v Speaker 3>They made my sure Nui a bike her milf and
<v Speaker 3>I'm just so happy. I can't express how happy I am.
<v Speaker 2>Jeff, Yeah, that looked really good.
<v Speaker 3>Uh. I don't know if you saw any of the
<v Speaker 3>extended stuff at all, probably not. They had you know,
<v Speaker 3>like old school like character editors that like CVS two
<v Speaker 3>hand and stuff where you could, like, because you know
<v Speaker 3>that's pixelar, you could just like change the colors of everything.
<v Speaker 3>They're doing that in City of the Wolves, like in
<v Speaker 3>a three D rendered game. That's pretty impressive that you
<v Speaker 3>can just like make your wild looking or pretty cool
<v Speaker 3>referential thing in that game. And I think, I think
<v Speaker 3>that's just part of the game. So like the fact
<v Speaker 3>that they could you know, sell that stuff as skins
<v Speaker 3>and stuff insteads just in the game is dope.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's promising, like so because like you know, a
<v Speaker 2>game like this, it feels like it would be right
<v Speaker 2>for them being like, look, we're gonna do it, but
<v Speaker 2>you all need to support it by buying a million
<v Speaker 2>skins and it's going to be just micro transaction to hell.
<v Speaker 2>So the idea that this game is not going to
<v Speaker 2>be that way is promising. Another promising game, Mecha Break
<v Speaker 2>This is a a I think a yeah, six v
<v Speaker 2>six multiplayer mech shooter looks like it has similar action
<v Speaker 2>to Armored Corps, but in a six v six multiplayer arena.
<v Speaker 2>It is coming, let's see. There will be a closed
<v Speaker 2>beta on August twenty fifth that runs through the twenty
<v Speaker 2>seventh re Animals from Little Nightmares developer Tarsier Studios. It's
<v Speaker 2>an upcoming horror game doing Awakening. That survival MMO looked
<v Speaker 2>more promising than it has before.
<v Speaker 1>For me.
<v Speaker 2>I know a lot of people think it looks good,
<v Speaker 2>but I was never into it until this point, and
<v Speaker 2>even then, I'm like, you know, I like survival MMOs
<v Speaker 2>more than a lot of people, but I'm not like
<v Speaker 2>always itching for the next one or the next one
<v Speaker 2>real quick.
<v Speaker 3>By the way, we did just check them. Looking at now,
<v Speaker 3>Mecha Breaks PC beta is actually still going on right now,
<v Speaker 3>so I'm if that's still going through a weekend, I'm
<v Speaker 3>probably gonna pick it up.
<v Speaker 2>And yeah, I'm gonna check that out now. That sounds
<v Speaker 2>like fun. Marvel Rivals, which we played on this website,
<v Speaker 2>checked that out. Naraka Blade Point was getting a tomb
<v Speaker 2>Raider crossover. They talked about this in the BombCast and
<v Speaker 2>they're like, they didn't really not. Naraka blay Point is
<v Speaker 2>a battle Royale. It's like a character action battle Rayale.
<v Speaker 3>I guess it's it breaks my heart that people say
<v Speaker 3>is carrying the torch to Rumble Verse because it is different.
<v Speaker 3>It doesn't have it doesn't have the verticality, but actually.
<v Speaker 2>Just as yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, like it's it's closer than a game has ever been.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, like it's not same, No, it's it's it's
<v Speaker 3>interesting though I played it.
<v Speaker 2>Civilization seven is coming February eleventh. Uh, this is a
<v Speaker 2>game I have to play before I can get too excited.
<v Speaker 2>Because my experience with Civilization is a new one comes
<v Speaker 2>out and there's a bunch of problems with it, they
<v Speaker 2>get fixed over time. So it's like, oh, yeah, we're
<v Speaker 2>just gonna get into the early access period, you know,
<v Speaker 2>quote unquote of Civilization seven here in February.
<v Speaker 1>That sounds great.
<v Speaker 2>I'll try it, but it'll be like a long burn
<v Speaker 2>relationship with that game.
<v Speaker 1>So that's what it's like.
<v Speaker 2>I kind of like just watch the trailer and be like, oh, okay, and.
<v Speaker 1>Then once I play it, I'll know how I feel.
<v Speaker 2>Starfield got a car. Monument Valley three got announced. It's
<v Speaker 2>coming December tenth. It's a part of Netflix. I think,
<v Speaker 2>let's see. Netflix subscribers will be able to access the
<v Speaker 2>entire series starting with Monument Valley on September nineteenth, in
<v Speaker 2>the Monument Valley two on October twenty ninth. I don't
<v Speaker 2>think they said exactly when Monument Ville, oh, December tenth.
<v Speaker 2>I just said that Batman Arkham shadow the VR game, Well,
<v Speaker 2>that looked kind of I don't know, it's.
<v Speaker 3>The freaking bat they said the thing.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, they said that that Monster Hunter Wilds is out
<v Speaker 2>next year. We saw that again. Still looks shit. Hot
<v Speaker 2>still looks really good to thee Yeah, yeah, of course,
<v Speaker 2>as always. Warhammer forty K Space Marine two new trailer
<v Speaker 2>kind of just showed off the style of the game again.
<v Speaker 2>Do you have like a pulse on this one, Like
<v Speaker 2>you think it's going to be pretty good?
<v Speaker 1>I think.
<v Speaker 3>I think, like the hardcore crowd is really going to
<v Speaker 3>like it. I don't think take off or anything, but
<v Speaker 3>I think it's gonna be good.
<v Speaker 2>Tower Born, a side scrolling action game, will be available
<v Speaker 2>via Early Access on PC starting September tenth. An Xbox
<v Speaker 2>version is still in development and more details will be
<v Speaker 2>revealed soon. Age of Mythology retold that you know the
<v Speaker 2>updated version of that that classic series, Masters of Albion.
<v Speaker 2>One of the biggest surprises of Opening Night Live was
<v Speaker 2>a guest appearance by Fable creator Peter Malinu, who revealed
<v Speaker 2>that he has secretly been working on a new God
<v Speaker 2>game for several years, several years now, called Masters of Albion. Actually,
<v Speaker 2>let's just let's hit these stories real quick. Let's see
<v Speaker 2>Peter Malinus says Master of ALBIOND could be his last
<v Speaker 2>game due to his smoking and drinking.
<v Speaker 1>That's a fun thing to say.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, from Eddie McCoo at game Spot. I like this
<v Speaker 2>because it's just like, you know, your dead beat dad
<v Speaker 2>shows back up and it's like, oh, now.
<v Speaker 1>You want a relationship.
<v Speaker 2>He's like, well this I could die any minute now
<v Speaker 2>and the drinking.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>GAMESCM This week, Fable creator Peter Malineu just basically said that.
<v Speaker 2>He also talked about, Hey, Albion, isn't that like from Fable?
<v Speaker 2>And he said Albion can't be copyrighted. Peter Malineu explains
<v Speaker 2>how his new game is set in the same world
<v Speaker 2>as Fable. This is from Jordan Miller at VGC. Peter
<v Speaker 2>Malineu has claimed that his new newly announced game, Masters
<v Speaker 2>of Albion is set in the same world as Fabled,
<v Speaker 2>despite being unaffiliated with Microsoft or the Fable franchise. Malanu
<v Speaker 2>announced his new game, Masters of ALBIOND during Gamescom Opening
<v Speaker 2>Night Live on Tuesday. The game, which is being developed
<v Speaker 2>by ex Fable debs as well as ex Media Molecule
<v Speaker 2>boss Mark Healey, is being described as an open world
<v Speaker 2>god game set in the Masters of set in the
<v Speaker 2>world of Albyon. It looks like black and white if
<v Speaker 2>people remember that. Speaking to Ig and Malenu, justified using
<v Speaker 2>Albion name by using the Albion name by comparing it
<v Speaker 2>setting multiple games in the same country something that can't
<v Speaker 2>be stopped by copyright. Albion is just a reference to
<v Speaker 2>old England, I guess and whatever. I said this on
<v Speaker 2>the talkover and people john't think got it. Like, I
<v Speaker 2>don't care copyright or not. That's not what makes this weird.
<v Speaker 2>It's weird because it's he's still saying it's in the
<v Speaker 2>world of Fable and it has nothing to do with Fable.
<v Speaker 2>Like yeah, sure, like it's a different thing in terms
<v Speaker 2>of Oh, he's just like setting a game in America
<v Speaker 2>and like this I was also set in America. It's like,
<v Speaker 2>it's not quite the same thing. He's not saying that.
<v Speaker 2>It's he's like, this is in the world of Fable.
<v Speaker 1>It's weird.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, well, I'm trying to look here. Do we actually
<v Speaker 3>have a quote from him specifically saying it's in the
<v Speaker 3>same world as Fable?
<v Speaker 1>Uh?
<v Speaker 3>I always think he is just repeating over and over.
<v Speaker 3>It's no, it's Albyond.
<v Speaker 2>He says Fable was set in al Beyond. Masters of
<v Speaker 2>al Beyond is set in now Beyond.
<v Speaker 1>Uh. Like, yeah, he's he's definitely kind of like.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, so he's like he's talking around it, but let's
<v Speaker 3>to be clear to your point, the intent is there,
<v Speaker 3>Like he's obviously like the intent is as the world
<v Speaker 3>of Fable, and.
<v Speaker 2>I think what I think the intent is what I'm
<v Speaker 2>getting at a little sad that's all. Like if you're
<v Speaker 2>like kind of just going back to the well and
<v Speaker 2>you're doing the spiritual successor, I get it, but like,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, this feels especially egregious that it's like,
<v Speaker 2>you know, we can't get the Fable stuff, but we'll
<v Speaker 2>just use what we can use, and we'll try to
<v Speaker 2>make people feel like it's in that world even though
<v Speaker 2>it won't have all that stuff.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>It's like using legally to like haves cake you need
<v Speaker 3>it too a little bit exactly.
<v Speaker 2>It's a little odd, all right, Let's keep going here.
<v Speaker 2>Kingdom's Kingdomcome Deliverance too. Saw more of that comes to
<v Speaker 2>February eleventh. There's some previews out there, people got a
<v Speaker 2>chance to play.
<v Speaker 1>It sounds like.
<v Speaker 2>It's going to build on the original a lot of
<v Speaker 2>good ways. Little Nightmares three this was announced that's also
<v Speaker 2>coming in twenty twenty five.
<v Speaker 1>Looks like a little Nightmares game. You ever play any
<v Speaker 1>of those?
<v Speaker 3>I have not, not my cup of tea.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I just bet if I played them I would
<v Speaker 2>enjoy them, but I kind of just never am.
<v Speaker 1>In the mood for them.
<v Speaker 2>Squid Games Unleash continues to prove that no one understands
<v Speaker 2>squid games. No, that's a Netflix game, obviously, I don't
<v Speaker 2>know if it has a date. Dark and Darker Mobile
<v Speaker 2>is headed to iOS and Android devices. This this is that
<v Speaker 2>weird one that really kind of blew up on Steam
<v Speaker 2>in early access and then got removed from Steam for
<v Speaker 2>some reason that either like stolen assets or like they
<v Speaker 2>were confused about those sources of the assets, or maybe
<v Speaker 2>even NFT stuff. I can't remember exactly what the story was,
<v Speaker 2>but it got removed from Steam. Yeah, it came back
<v Speaker 2>to Steam, but in the meantime, it seemed like while
<v Speaker 2>they were off, they were we got to find another
<v Speaker 2>way to get around and get this game out because
<v Speaker 2>people are into it, and they made a mobile version hurdling.
<v Speaker 2>This is from developer Acomotive and that which is the
<v Speaker 2>creators of Far Changing Tides and Far Loan Sales games
<v Speaker 2>that I pretty I enjoyed quite a bit. This is
<v Speaker 2>different than those. This is you hurting a bunch of
<v Speaker 2>like giant like wampa or not like cow looking creatures
<v Speaker 2>or I don't know, something like the like furry elephants
<v Speaker 2>or something like holy mammoths. It looked really neat coming out.
<v Speaker 2>It comes out in twenty twelve five seeing consoles by the.
<v Speaker 3>Way, that's that's probably Oco motive, like yes.
<v Speaker 2>Oka motive, thank you, yes, yeah, I hurdly it was
<v Speaker 2>one of the ones that stood out to.
<v Speaker 1>Me of like, oh, I would like to play that
<v Speaker 1>quite a bit.
<v Speaker 2>Uh, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. We got a
<v Speaker 2>good look at this game, a lot of the gameplay.
<v Speaker 2>They also gave a date December ninth, and then it's
<v Speaker 2>also coming to piss.
<v Speaker 1>There it is.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, oh my god, y'all have to watch that BombCast
<v Speaker 3>because seeing the other end of me texting Mike asking
<v Speaker 3>if he said that was so good?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah he thought it got picked up on microphone and
<v Speaker 2>it's like, no, we just knew you said it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, well I want chucked put together that added
<v Speaker 3>fourth of you you and mind if.
<v Speaker 1>I'm out on the reddit right now, it's on there. Uh.
<v Speaker 1>But Chuck Asky also tweeted it.
<v Speaker 2>So if you want to see that video of Mike
<v Speaker 2>getting in that and be like, did they hear me
<v Speaker 2>on the stream say that?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>And it's like no, you can just cut it cut
<v Speaker 2>to the US talking over and I was just guessing
<v Speaker 2>that he said it.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>Either way, I think his game is looking really good.
<v Speaker 2>Indiana Jones is uh, I'm I'm I like that franchise
<v Speaker 2>a lot. And now we're seeing a lot of previews
<v Speaker 2>and people are saying some pretty wild stuff. Jordan Miller says,
<v Speaker 2>it's got like hit Man inspiration.
<v Speaker 3>Did you read that or article? What's going on?
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, I have it, like open right here, It's
<v Speaker 2>what I'm gonna read a series. We're done here, yea.
<v Speaker 2>But but a lot of the previews are mostly saying
<v Speaker 2>there's a lot of depth, there's a lot more going
<v Speaker 2>on than every anyone's expecting, like every single stories, And
<v Speaker 2>I wonder if that there was almost like a point
<v Speaker 2>in the preview where they're like, no, this is grander
<v Speaker 2>than anyone was expecting. And people are like got that
<v Speaker 2>in their head because everyone's gonna saying the same thing.
<v Speaker 2>So I still want to see that for myself. But
<v Speaker 2>at the very least, they are setting the groundwork here
<v Speaker 2>for something that sounds like a pretty big deal.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, like we talked about in the talkover, I have
<v Speaker 3>like personal preference things about this game. I think Backlarer
<v Speaker 3>was sort of on the sad page of like, you know,
<v Speaker 3>we like tomb Raider, so we kind of wanted to
<v Speaker 3>be a little more.
<v Speaker 1>There's a lot people that are gonna feel that way.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, right, But at the same time, I if they're
<v Speaker 3>ever there was a developer where it's like they're doing
<v Speaker 3>something that I don't want. By a fall it is
<v Speaker 3>machine games, Like, Yeah, this is going to be incredible.
<v Speaker 1>I can't wait, very excited.
<v Speaker 2>And Troy Baker's Harrison Ford continues to be amazing. Sure,
<v Speaker 2>it's I can't believe how much he sounds like Harrison
<v Speaker 2>Ford to me.
<v Speaker 1>It's amazing.
<v Speaker 3>It's pretty good. I'll give it up. I'm just a hater.
<v Speaker 2>Oh sure, Yeah. There's also Troy Baker stories in the
<v Speaker 2>BombCast everybody, that's all. There was a bunch of wild
<v Speaker 2>stories in there, so everyone should listen to that. Oh
<v Speaker 2>I haven't got to that bar okay, And I'm curious
<v Speaker 2>they blasphemed in a church with Troy Baker.
<v Speaker 3>Oh that was okay, okay, that's half listening. That was okay, gotcha.
<v Speaker 2>Mafia the Old Country was a big surprise as well.
<v Speaker 2>We knew knew Mafia was coming, but judging by the
<v Speaker 2>brief teaser trailer it was written here, it looks like
<v Speaker 2>players will be headed to Sicily in the early nineteen
<v Speaker 2>hundreds in the next Mafia game, which I think is
<v Speaker 2>a pretty decent idea for a new Mafia. I don't
<v Speaker 2>know if I wanted another kind of old American city
<v Speaker 2>take on this. They did change a lot of stuff
<v Speaker 2>up with Mafia the game. I didn't play, and I
<v Speaker 2>know people have a soft spot for that one kind
<v Speaker 2>of interested to give it a chance, but I could
<v Speaker 2>never get into Mafia one or two. I tried a
<v Speaker 2>bunch of times. I like, I do like crime games.
<v Speaker 2>I like, you know, Mafia related stuff in entertainment, but
<v Speaker 2>it just never clicked for me. So I never tried
<v Speaker 2>Mafia three. But I like the sound of this.
<v Speaker 1>What do you think?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah? I mean, and there's only so much you can
<v Speaker 3>change up to saying while still being a Mafia game specifically,
<v Speaker 3>So I think this was a good call and I'm
<v Speaker 3>looking forward to what they're doing with because I think, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I take it to like, you know, a younger Cicily
<v Speaker 3>is gonna be an interesting way of going about that.
<v Speaker 3>It's gonna be very different than the you like, well,
<v Speaker 3>what is without the time of what the forties or
<v Speaker 3>fifties or whatever it was taking place in in like
<v Speaker 3>one through three or whatnot.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but Mafia one is definitely like the forties and
<v Speaker 2>fifties because I remember the vehicles, and Mafia two is
<v Speaker 2>a little bit after that. Yeah, basically, that's right. That
<v Speaker 2>game is gonna get more information revealed in December. A
<v Speaker 2>couple other game here before while we clean things up,
<v Speaker 2>the First Berserker Kason.
<v Speaker 1>That's the action RPG that looked really.
<v Speaker 2>Fantastic in terms of its art style before, but the
<v Speaker 2>performance look kind of rough. They've cleaned things up, it
<v Speaker 2>looks really rock solid. This is the DNF dual game
<v Speaker 2>that is now action game.
<v Speaker 3>The Dungeon Fighter. Yeah, Dungeon Fighter Online is like a
<v Speaker 3>really long running, I believe Korean sort of like browser
<v Speaker 3>based MMO thing you know, from way back when like
<v Speaker 3>Rimscape and stuff was popping off. But there's like a
<v Speaker 3>lot of other you know, like Asian games sort of
<v Speaker 3>outside Japan, where their mark has primarily been PC and
<v Speaker 3>now somewhat mobile, they are moving into more console style games.
<v Speaker 3>That's how we got like them working with Arcsis to
<v Speaker 3>do DNF duel, and now we get them making first
<v Speaker 3>Berserka Kazan, which by the way, Ben Stark confirmed on
<v Speaker 3>Twitter that he is in fact Kazan, so shouts your
<v Speaker 3>friend of the site, Ben Starr on that one. But yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it looks good, and like we mentioned earlier in the show,
<v Speaker 3>I do like these more action oriented character action souls
<v Speaker 3>adjacent games. I don't like the slower pace of souls,
<v Speaker 3>but something like this is more on my alley.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, this one looks like it's got a lot more
<v Speaker 2>going on in terms of combos and things like that.
<v Speaker 2>And we'll know for sure in October because there's a
<v Speaker 2>closed beta test coming October eleventh through the twentieth.
<v Speaker 3>Which is interesting. That's the thing. You kind of turn
<v Speaker 3>your head if it's gonna be a single player game,
<v Speaker 3>But at the same time, when when you realize like
<v Speaker 3>who is coming from next on everything, it's like, Okay,
<v Speaker 3>I guess maybe.
<v Speaker 2>Getting that feedback, so they probably they're probably used to that,
<v Speaker 2>so they want it exactly. Let just a handful of
<v Speaker 2>other games real quick. The Diabla flour Vessel of Hatred.
<v Speaker 2>Plenty of stuff out there that launches on October eighth.
<v Speaker 2>The War Within also got a little bit more information
<v Speaker 2>for World of Warcraft, and then Unknown nine Awakening confirmed
<v Speaker 2>an October eighteenth release date.
<v Speaker 1>Is from Bandai Namco, an upcoming adventure game.
<v Speaker 3>Well, I see why you wanted to get through the
<v Speaker 3>rest of these headlines, you little yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, where is that game?
<v Speaker 2>Well, it was in the pre show so for some reason,
<v Speaker 2>and the sort of rundown here from Games Games Come
<v Speaker 2>Opening Night Live. All of the biggest announcements Darren bonthus
<v Speaker 2>did not include road crafts coming to play station five,
<v Speaker 2>Xbox Series and PC. This is from Salamonokmatsu. Publisher Focus
<v Speaker 2>Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have announced the construction simulation
<v Speaker 2>game road Craft for PlayStation five, Xbox Series and PC.
<v Speaker 2>It will launch in twenty twenty five. I kind of
<v Speaker 2>did a quick summary of what this game is. Roadcraft
<v Speaker 2>is a simulation game where you lead a company specialized
<v Speaker 2>in restoring sites devastated by natural disasters. You use construction
<v Speaker 2>machinery to clear debris, rebuild roads and bridges, and restart
<v Speaker 2>the local industry. The game features realistic physics of variety
<v Speaker 2>of vehicles and eight unique maps to explore.
<v Speaker 1>I'm so excited. You could also pay coo cooperaty.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sorry, let me correct that we will be playing
<v Speaker 2>cooperatively with up to four players on giant bomb dot
<v Speaker 2>com when Roadcraft lnches in twenty twenty five.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, we're going to do infra rusure.
<v Speaker 1>Will we infrastructure?
<v Speaker 2>This will be infrastructure or infrastructure Greek twenty twenty five
<v Speaker 2>for sure. Uh, the idea of a disaster happens. You
<v Speaker 2>got to clear the road, use big machines to clear
<v Speaker 2>the road, and then be able to fix the road
<v Speaker 2>or fix the bridges. Like I love bridge building simulators,
<v Speaker 2>but I'm always like I wish I could do this
<v Speaker 2>in like Grand Theft Auto. I when I'm playing Craft Auto,
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, I wish I could just be doing one
<v Speaker 2>of these menial jobs.
<v Speaker 1>And this game is just that. I'm so excited For
<v Speaker 1>people wondering why I'm so excited. My game is dad.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, it's a dad game. Dad ass game right here. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>my game of the year A couple of years ago
<v Speaker 2>was snow Runner. This is from the studio that did that.
<v Speaker 2>I think mud Runner Expeditions is really solid. That came
<v Speaker 2>out earlier this year. That's on my top ten list
<v Speaker 2>right now as.
<v Speaker 1>I like vaguely keep track of it.
<v Speaker 2>But the multiplayer hasn't even launched for that yet at
<v Speaker 2>least last time I checked.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, hey, and.
<v Speaker 2>Now they're doing something in a new franchise. It sounds
<v Speaker 2>like they're taking a lot of what they learned and
<v Speaker 2>applying it here. Boy, I'm excited. Looks like a very
<v Speaker 2>good game. Uh yeah, run out of Time, last couple
<v Speaker 2>of things here. Amazon's Secret Level also got revealed in
<v Speaker 2>full at this show. This is a on the Cremati
<v Speaker 2>mc cood game spot. Prime Video is expanding its video
<v Speaker 2>game themed themed a Secret Level with that it's doing
<v Speaker 2>with Blur Studio. There are fifteen episodes in all, featuring
<v Speaker 2>stories based on existing games, classics, indies, and new titles.
<v Speaker 2>It's been in the works for more than three years.
<v Speaker 2>The episodes are inspired by these franchises, Armored Corps, Concord
<v Speaker 2>I didn't see that one, Crossfire, Dungeons and Dragons, Exodus,
<v Speaker 2>Honor of Kings, Mega Man I don't know what exodus
<v Speaker 2>or honor of Kings is shown.
<v Speaker 1>Mega Man, New World.
<v Speaker 2>Those have got to be like Amazon games, right, New World,
<v Speaker 2>a Tournam which is an Amazon game, Pac Man, various
<v Speaker 2>PlayStation studios games, so I guess they're all going to
<v Speaker 2>come together in one episode. Interesting Seafu, Spelunky, The Outer
<v Speaker 2>World's Unreal Tournament, and Warhammer forty K.
<v Speaker 3>That's all list.
<v Speaker 1>That's it's an interesting list.
<v Speaker 2>There's like so many cool things you could do with these,
<v Speaker 2>even the ones I'm not I'm not interested in.
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna I'm gonna watch this whole thing.
<v Speaker 2>As long as the first couple episodes deliver and some
<v Speaker 2>some fun stuff. The Mega Man one looked really like
<v Speaker 2>it does look interesting that it's like, oh man, that
<v Speaker 2>looks like a lot of money going in to make
<v Speaker 2>Mega Man look very cool.
<v Speaker 3>Well yeah, making him look like the astraboyance RaSE he
<v Speaker 3>always was exactly.
<v Speaker 1>Yes. Uh.
<v Speaker 2>And Blur Studios is that they are known for.
<v Speaker 1>They did arcane Is that right?
<v Speaker 2>Or what would they do? I don't know, Yeah, they
<v Speaker 2>I know they're the Blur Studios. In terms of animation,
<v Speaker 2>they've made a lot of these more popular ones shows.
<v Speaker 1>Let me see here Blure Studio. I'll look it up here.
<v Speaker 2>They are, Yeah, and Tim tim Miller is also involved.
<v Speaker 2>Tim Millar, who did uh not Daredevil, Deadpool, he is
<v Speaker 2>working on this. They did the Okay, they've worked on
<v Speaker 2>Avatar Man. They went all the way back to south Park, Bigger, Longer,
<v Speaker 2>and uncut.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, this is a study that's done like a bunch
<v Speaker 3>of cinematic trailers and stuff.
<v Speaker 2>That's right cinematic. Yes, and they've done a lot of
<v Speaker 2>work on they've didn't like work on like Wolf and
<v Speaker 2>Stein Returned to Castle, Wolfenstein, Call of Duty, Modern Warfare three.
<v Speaker 1>They've worked on the.
<v Speaker 3>Most importantly, Song at the Hedgehog two thousand and six.
<v Speaker 1>Right of course.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, so their shows include stuff like, yeah, they've worked
<v Speaker 2>on Adventure's Age of Ultron, Mindhunter, Love Death and Robots,
<v Speaker 2>Sonic the Hedgehog, Son of Sonic the Hedgehog two, Knuckles,
<v Speaker 2>and Sonic the Hedgehog three.
<v Speaker 3>So oh, they worked on the movies okay.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, and they did that movie Twice upon a Christmas,
<v Speaker 2>which I think is pretty decent. Okay, interesting, yeah, all right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>either way, Tim Miller came out announced that he was
<v Speaker 2>like choking up because he's been working on it so
<v Speaker 2>long and that was very moving. So I'm interested in
<v Speaker 2>the show, ready to check it out.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I saw him come out. I was like, oh, no,
<v Speaker 3>is this gonna be a forced dev like having a
<v Speaker 3>moment thing, And I was like, oh no, he actually cares.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, he just really cares.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, all right, I'm not going to get these last
<v Speaker 2>two stories ran out of times real quick. Atari is
<v Speaker 2>releasing a modernized seventy eight hundred console, and Stellar Blade
<v Speaker 2>might come to PC in the near future.
<v Speaker 3>Hey that's sick.
<v Speaker 1>I like, yeah, I'm going to play that on PC.
<v Speaker 3>I think ailm real quick. Since they were in the
<v Speaker 3>pre show, Yeah, I guess we didn't talk about them,
<v Speaker 3>but two of the games. I was struggling to think
<v Speaker 3>of these while we were like.
<v Speaker 2>I knowed I was going to track them down, but really.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I was like, why am I blancants? I thought,
<v Speaker 3>like the stuff that they're there, but Begone Beast, which
<v Speaker 3>was like that Diablo Ish co op, uh, you know,
<v Speaker 3>cute c Ish horror game that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that looked really good.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, looked fun like it kind of had like a
<v Speaker 3>what am I trying to think of her? Like almost
<v Speaker 3>like DreamWorks animation kind of thing about it while being
<v Speaker 3>a creepy like horror themed Diablo stuff. That that looked
<v Speaker 3>really good, I thought, And then I agree, Uh, Nico Derrico,
<v Speaker 3>I assume as how it's pronounced was the he crashed
<v Speaker 3>or a little bit crash mixed into a whole bunch
<v Speaker 3>of Donkey Kong country, right, and that that looks fantastic.
<v Speaker 3>I was trying to think of that while we were
<v Speaker 3>talking about it, and yeah, no, that's one of my
<v Speaker 3>more anticipate games.
<v Speaker 1>Between those two in Roadcraft.
<v Speaker 2>I think those are like in the top like five, six,
<v Speaker 2>seven games from the show for me, honestly be in
<v Speaker 2>the top five.
<v Speaker 1>I think all of those looked really good. Uh.
<v Speaker 2>And as the stuff was like kind of known quantities,
<v Speaker 2>so pre show carrying the show for me in a
<v Speaker 2>lot of ways.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I guess, and I did.
<v Speaker 2>They didn't air that stuff in the theater at least
<v Speaker 2>or maybe they maybe they maybe they did. But Jan
<v Speaker 2>was like, you guys are already seeing stuff, because when
<v Speaker 2>he like messaged us when we were doing that, I'm like, oh, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>we're watching the pre show.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, it was interesting.
<v Speaker 3>I guess I assumed that they would just head it
<v Speaker 3>on while people.
<v Speaker 2>Were maybe they did, but maybe if we were filing
<v Speaker 2>in and being loud and they weren't like listening to
<v Speaker 2>it yet, and it's like, well, the show's not started yet,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. All right, pull question from Monday right here.
<v Speaker 2>It is, are you feeling more confident about Silent Hill
<v Speaker 2>to remake? A bunch of previews came out, Yes we did. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that went up, Thank you so much. Thirty eight percent
<v Speaker 2>said yes, sixty two percent said no. And really, I'm
<v Speaker 2>still in this with this game and this this preview cycle,
<v Speaker 2>and the response to it is I think Silent Hill
<v Speaker 2>fans are going to.
<v Speaker 1>Get the best of both worlds, where they get to.
<v Speaker 2>Complain about this game up until it comes out, and
<v Speaker 2>then it comes out and it's actually something they like.
<v Speaker 3>I think they're gonna that would be nice. That's that's
<v Speaker 3>what they want.
<v Speaker 2>They want to complain about Silent Hill and then also
<v Speaker 2>like Silent Hill, and they might get exactly that, and
<v Speaker 2>I think that rules for them. I'm so excited we
<v Speaker 2>got we got a new pole question. We'll get to
<v Speaker 2>that here in a second, But first, Sean Wat you
<v Speaker 2>tell people whe they can find you on the Internet,
<v Speaker 2>what you have going on and all that good stuff.
<v Speaker 3>Twitter, Turbo, Shawn Underscore Shawn by the way, otherwise doing
<v Speaker 3>stuff here Giant Bomb Kaya a little busy ish because
<v Speaker 3>you know, I'm covering for jan while he's out and
<v Speaker 3>the crew is doing awesome stuff for a games com.
<v Speaker 3>That bomb cast was fantastic everyone if they have it. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it seems like they're having a really fun time ort
<v Speaker 3>of there. I don't know if you saw Dan put
<v Speaker 3>a video on Twitter this morning, a mic on some
<v Speaker 3>kind of VR. Oh no, he's like riding his virtual
<v Speaker 3>speeder bike or something. Every few seconds it bumps. It's like, ah,
<v Speaker 3>very loudly in the middle of the show. For It's
<v Speaker 3>just that made my morning.
<v Speaker 2>There there's like two kind of screams as like he
<v Speaker 2>hits slight bumps.
<v Speaker 1>It's very funny.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. So yeah, they're doing awesome stuff for there. I
<v Speaker 3>think they're also doing the dumb truck from probably Chance
<v Speaker 3>Hotel room and uh yeah. And then we're just picking
<v Speaker 3>up the slack over here.
<v Speaker 2>There's appointments and stuff like that to talk about. They're
<v Speaker 2>gonna come back with a lot of stuff to talk about,
<v Speaker 2>I think.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, But then we're we're continuing to celebrate on guess
<v Speaker 3>over here. Yes, so I think we're playing what Murkey
<v Speaker 3>Diver Murkey Divers.
<v Speaker 2>That will be at one pm Eastern ten am Pacific time,
<v Speaker 2>top of the hour here, top of the hour here,
<v Speaker 2>So about fifty five minutes we'll get that going. We stuff, yes, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>and we might mix some stuff into this stream. We'll
<v Speaker 2>see how it's going. Murky divers like lose the steam
<v Speaker 2>really fast. We'll try that Pilgrim game as well, but
<v Speaker 2>that that is like a lethal company like proof. People
<v Speaker 2>are kind of looking forward to expect there. And then yeah,
<v Speaker 2>we'll have some other spooky games later this week.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>And then I think I think we're still going to
<v Speaker 2>try to do killer Clowns on Friday. See all right,
<v Speaker 2>new poll question, I have it right here. Where are
<v Speaker 2>you getting Indiana Jones Xbox PC or PS five And
<v Speaker 2>I put in parentheses there next year to sort of
<v Speaker 2>just kind of couch that in, like it's not not
<v Speaker 2>all things are equal there. Uh, but yeah, we'll see
<v Speaker 2>what the response is for that. Sean, if you can
<v Speaker 2>remember me, I appreciate.
<v Speaker 3>That you really are the master of engagement.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my gods. Okay, let's get those people in there. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>just be normal about it. Why can't you. I'll be
<v Speaker 1>normal about it. You just be normal about it. Comments
<v Speaker 1>I cannot. We'll see. We'll see the results.
<v Speaker 2>Of that and discuss it on Game mess Mornings on
<v Speaker 2>Giant Bomb tomorrow speaking a Giant Bomb stick around fifty
<v Speaker 2>five minutes Murky Divers. In the meantime, everybody, thank you
<v Speaker 2>so much for hanging out Sean. Thank you so much
<v Speaker 2>for spinning today talking with me about video games. Man,
<v Speaker 2>I really appreciate it.
<v Speaker 3>That was a fun chat. We had a day to
<v Speaker 3>Thanks for having up with that.
<v Speaker 2>Love when we get to do a show together, I
<v Speaker 2>really appreciate it. Yeah, I appreciate you all listening and watching.
<v Speaker 2>You're the best audience in gaming. Until next time, have
<v Speaker 2>a good one, take care of yourself, and goodbye.
