Yes one. What's up? The podcast is an ending to me? You
stay convinced him. You got a lot of explaining to do these people.
Uh, I'm keeping it. Okay, that's it. That's see you later.
Guys. Do we have the intro? You should hit the intro.
That's a good spot for it, all right, But the right one.
I'm sorry, but it's a different is it a different? But we have
another? So it's the worst kept surprise. He put the car wait,
he put the end card. He put it was over. It's kind of
funny though, because it is like it's over. I'm going to keep the
podcast. I'm going to keep it going. It's the worst kept secret because
I decided a week or two ago to tell the Patreons, and I also
got a little angsty and I ended up tweeting it as well, because I
know we wouldn't get to do this live for a while, and I decided
on this a week or two ago, so I wanted to let people know,
mostly the patreons so that don't leave me. But the reception over on
Patreon was very awesome, very welcoming. I mean, we post on Patreon
every week with the bonus episode, and people love it, but they don't
really engage. But the post about me keeping the podcast has hundreds of likes
and a bunch of comments of people saying yay. So in today's bonus episode,
I want to talk about my plan for the show and what I want
to do with it. I don't want to harbor on about it right now
because we have a lot of stuff to get to. But ultimately I don't
even know what I should say, because I say it's going to be a
completely different show. It's not going to be the same thing that happen.
I mean not completely different. Yeah, I guess, but like you know,
what you've explained to me is completely different. And yeah, I've gone
through a lot of different I've gone through a lot of different iterations in my
mind and with e and bouncing things off. But one thing I always there's
a couple of things I always wanted to do. Keep the name because when
we keep the name of the Vibe, because when you google this is to
me so crazy and why I love the show so much. When we first
started it and we called it a nontendo podcast, we would YouTube and google
Nontendo podcast and it would auto correct it to Nintendo podcast and bring up nothing
to do with us. Now, if you go to Google, not even
YouTube, and you search Nintendo podcast, we're the top five results. We've
dominated this space. That's been a bit. It has been for a long
bit. It kind of changed very quickly. We very quickly became, if
not the most popular the Nintendo podcast, at the very least the most searchable.
We've created a brand, We've created something really special. We have some
really passionate fans. I love the show. I want to have a podcast.
I've always wanted to have a podcast, and having this one with you
has been so special to me. If we lose it, I'm just gonna
want to start another one, and this is the one I care about.
If I start another podcast, it's going to be a Nintendo podcast anyway.
So why lose? Why lose all of this? I love coming here to
Brooklyn. It's been such a therapeutic thing for me to help beat my anxiety
and get me out the house once a week or every couple of weeks.
I love creating the show with e as much as I love creating it with
you. So I want to keep the show here in Brooklyn, on this
set right where we're sitting. I want to keep e helping me produce it.
I want to add a couple of people to the team to help out.
At its core, it's going to be me solo hosting the show,
but my main idea is to get a different guest for every episode, So
every episode I'll have a co host, and for some of those, it's
going to be you. Baby. You literally literally said one so far and
maybe two in the next year. Not often, that's what you've said,
not often the couple times a year. Maybe I was discussed three minutes ago.
I'm keeping the people engaged. Baby. The possibility of having you back
on as a guest is so exciting to me, but also just as a
co host. I'll say that I've been reaching out to a ton of my
friends and people that I know, both in the gaming space in UH.
I don't want to give too many spoilers away, but a bunch of people,
and I've been trying to feel out, can I get people here in
person? Is this something I can do with people coming to the studio.
I've already got the first guest locked in to come into the studio and it's
there. I'm not going to say because I want to keep it special,
but I couldn't have I'm so happy, and so many of my other friends
have already said yes, they'll come in the God there's god. I don't
even want to say. I don't want to say you don't want to ruin
this, but people, my friends and other creators. I've also had a
ton of other creators reach out to me. I'll say this, Almost everybody
from the sponcast was like, Hey, we can come on. So we're
gonna get a lot of cool people in. I'm so excited to keep the
show going. I think it would be cool to get people outside of the
gaming space and talk to them about Nintendo and about the gaming sphere and how
they interact with games. So I'm very excited. A lot of things are
gonna pretty much stay the same. I think it's gonna have the same vibe.
It's just not gonna have your energy, which obviously is a completely different
vibe. Okay, I think vibe is the wrong word. I don't know,
because it'll be here, it'll be me, it'll be it'll be in
the studio. I don't know why you're trying to hold onto it being the
same show. It's not gonna be the same because people people want it to
be different. It will be different. Yeah, yeah, embrace that and
the same vibe. I mean, like, I'm not gonna take the show,
do it somewhere else in another studio at a round table with five people
you don't know, and I'm just there and it's like, why is this
still called Nintendo Podcast? Right? It's gonna be the brick wall, It's
gonna be two chairs, it's going to be two people talking to each other
with e and bouncing back. You have took It's gonna be the talk.
We've had a lot of talks. I love the vibe of this show.
We've had a way that we talk. We've had a lot of talks about
this in the past couple of weeks, and this is the first time you
are making it seem like it's gonna be very similar to the show can I
So that's why I'm completely taken taken aback by by you saying that when you
first started talking about a new idea for the show, I was I also,
I think I told you. I was like, I had this totally
different from what you had originally said. Yeah, I went, you called
yourself out. You were like, yeah, this is me just my brain
moving a million because initially I was scared of the idea of hosting it on
my own, and I thought that the show had to be all new and
all exciting if this was gonna work. But I realized this show could exist
the way it has been just with me taking the hosting spot and inviting guests
on, and I just really reined it in. Initially I had plans for
the set. I was gonna do it late night. Yeah, I was,
That's what I had the whole time you were I was like, what
the fun I was going to get a big green screen window here with the
night city with the guy in it, like the Tom Green Show with the
guy in it. No, I've just I've just decided that just doing this
show with me and a guest would be way more fun. This is the
first time you're telling me that. Well, yeah, I mean, what
do you care? Talked about it so much. I was like, what
I thought you were telling them something completely different than what you're telling me,
because this is the first time I'm hearing that too. Also, I didn't
want to get into all of the detailers of everything. Right now, I'm
just getting a little carried away, but yeah, I think ultimately the best
thing for the podcast is for you to do it on your own. Yeah,
and you are doing that, and I think that's the best thing.
Thank you, thank you. I agree. There will be times where like
we can't get a guest in, so it will be me and probably one
of the regular people you used to see. Getting a guest every episode is
going to be a lot work. Yeah, well, in my mind we're
talking about it so much now, but in my mind, we'll have a
rotating cast, like maybe he will sit with me for an episode, or
some of the people you've already seen around the show, like Jordan and ham
Bingle, people that live nearby. If Scoot can come in to do one
episode, we can yell together, you know. But I don't think there
will be too much of a lack of guests because I think I can really
pull from a lot of places, from game devs to wrestlers to just people
outside of what we already know. So, Professor Oak, you can finally
get it. So yeah, I hope you guys stick around and join me
on the journey at least give it a shot when it starts up again next
year. I'm really excited for it. And yeah, if you started watching
the show because of Bob and you decide to stick around, thank you so
much. But if you leave with Bob, I understand because peace of my
heart will also be leaving with him. I'll take it. I'll take it.
I'll put it somewhere. He'll come back, I'll make him come back.
I'll force him back in. Bob's technically local, so he would kind
of literally not going anywhere. Yeah, he's around, moving or anything.
I'm the one that comes further for this. That's very true. I just
come down. I've seen it. I hope you need to catch that.
I've done it, all right, that's that. Thank you so much for
entertaining that. I appreciate it. I can't see the chat, so I
hope you guys had nice nice And also, yeah, someone did ask if
we were live. We are actually right now, isn't pre recorded retro replay
in the chat says you didn't ask, but I'll do it. I don't
know who that is. Hit me up. I actually want to create an
email for guests to apply to come to the show. You actually got a
lot of tweets from random people being like I'll do it. I know people.
There were people with like ten followers that were like, I'll co host
the whole show with I was like, oh will you. I got to
kind of like know who you are. You know. I had a lot
of people, as I said, friends, reach out and be like,
I'll do one episode. So that's really cool. It'll be really interesting to
get a different dynamic every episode. Yeah, I don't think it's gonna you're
gonna have a hard time. I will ask though a lot of people wanted
to be on this one without without with this one. Yeah, we have
a lot of people oh wanted to be Yeah, we just were bad about
ever getting guests. Yeah. Yeah. I will say that Bob has been
my moral compass over the last year or so, reining me in and keeping
me in line so that that now defaults to both and the audience. So
yeah, let me know how I'm doing. Wait what this show is yours
as much as it is mine. I don't know. I just feel like
when I get a little bit too much Woody, You're always that. When
I do that, usually just get to fixes itself right. We talked about
what dreams during the bonus episode. Next week's going to miss all this,
Bob, all right, let's talk about the game Awards. Thank you,
I love you guys, thank you. All right, game Wards. The
reason why we're doing this on a Friday, we're doing a live on a
Friday. That It actually worked out perfectly for me because I was not here
yesterday, so the I streamed all yesterday. We both stream Yeah, yesterday
was game I was exhausted yesterday. Hello, Gavin. Gavin's for the chat.
I originally started watching because Bob, Hell yeah, bro, now you
watched my other podcast, Fuck you would It's a different day. What the
fuck? Because the game wards was yesterday. That was exhausting. We both
streamed that. Yeah, I had a whole day of shooting before that.
I also uploaded the video yesterday, so I like uploaded it. Fell asleep.
I fell asleep on the couch yesterday, Catch time, couch time.
I woke up, uploaded the video, took the dog out, fell asleep,
woke up to Passini just in my house and I was like, you're
early. I wasn't sleeping. Was he early? He was early? It
was like two hours early. And then we had a film and we went
a little crazy on on a thing, and then we had the Game Awards
so we won't co streamed. Also stressed because I'm trying to get a bunch
of DYEA videos out. And then I accidentally ended up streaming with my friend
Kip on his Twitch for like three hours playing war Zone the day before.
Oh my god, and then I I like, I have to go.
Game Awards is starting, and I just flipped the switch and I sat there
for six more hours as we watched the Game Awards. So my butt was
a pizza yesterday. Okay, all right, you've never had pizza box?
You never heard of that expression? Swamp ass? Swamp ass? No,
no, no, no, swamp as. It's not sweaty. It's when
you sit for so long that your ass feels square and you get like a
numb ass. It's like a pizza box ass. This might be in Australia.
Yeah, I heard that before. Yeah, never heard that. You've
never sat in a movie so long that your butt feels like numb No,
yeah, but I've never heard that was pizza box. What do you call
it? Numb ass? Yeah? But also like the thing is swamp ass,
but it's a sweaty I'm not saying I have a greasy, sweaty pizza
ass full of pimples and pepper. Right now, I will say that I
forgot to eat all day yesterday, and I got a burrito delivered to me
at like eight o'clock right the Game Awards started, Housinger Burrito. I'm on
my strict diet still, so I had to eat two meals while I was
watching the Game Awards. Who it was long? Yeah, it was.
It was. It was like seven hours, right, Yeah, it was
like five five and a half. Still, that's that's kind of a lot
for Yeah, but I liked it. Was it like pre show? It
was very way fast paced. Yeah, there was like a half hour.
There were a lot of cool announcements most of the mostly every time I saw
some cool I was like, that's a would announcement. Yeah that was cool
for me. Yeah, you had a great show. We should go was
what we should do? I think is go through all the nominees and awards
and then we'll go through all of the premieres and all of that stuff.
Yes, before we do that, Yeah, I would like to talk about
the mugs. I forgot we got talk about the Yeah show, we launched
our mugs last week. It was kind of just kind of happened. We
had we got the mugs out of nowhere because we were canceling the show releasing
Edge. We just wanted to sell them out because we are canceling the show,
and we were we were yeah, we didn't we weren't sure if we
were going to get back the same we were canceling. Yeah, So we
only got like one hundred ish uh and they sold out in one and a
half hours crazy, maybe less than that. It was yeah, one and
a half two hours, I think. And it sucked because we didn't even
get them up on the page when the episode launched. It took like an
hour for them to come up, so people might have thought something was wrong
or whatever. So I feel bad that people didn't get an opportunity to get
it. Also, a lot more people wanted and people were upset that they
didn't get it within the hour. Yeah, I mean we dropped it out
of no way and gave people no warning or time, and there was such
a small amount. The thing is that felt like a big amount, Like
I yeah, we didn't think. We didn't think we were going to sell
them at all, because initially we were going to get well, I said
we should aug Initially I said we should get seventy because that was half,
and then you were like, let's get the one forty. And I was
like, all right, sat there for a while. One it's a hundred,
it's one hundred. We met in the middle. We did one hundred.
It's one hundred. I thought it was one forty. Thought that we
already talked about it. I don't know, like, you get a discount
if you get one hundred forty. Yeah, we only got one hundred.
Oh wow. Yeah, well yeah, that's why they sold out. But
I didn't think we'd even get a hundred. Yeah, well, sell it
a hundred. So they sold incredibly fast. So what we're doing now is
a little pre sale situation. So they're back up for one week, one
week from today. Yes, so we felt that by the time the next
podcast goes up, you won't get an opportunity to get it, so we
felt bad. So if you go to the link in the description, you
can pre order it and then we'll know how many we need. Yeah,
so we won't do You don't have a chance of missing out unless you don't
buy one within the next week, because then it ends and I want to
say that the idea of these mugs in my mind when we launched them the
first time was they were commemorative, they were special. They were the end
of this show's podcast and they still are because I'm when I continue this show,
I'm not going to do these mugs. I'm going to do a new
kind of design or a different kind of mug. So the chat it should
be there's a these specific mugs actually Bob design too, so this is a
fair weel to above mug to buy that if you want to commemorate the end
of this season or era of Nontender, and then at the description and then
I'll do some different kind of mug because I want to have mugs, but
I'll do a different kind so it feels more special for this run if we
can. If we have a mod, just put the link in the chat.
We'll figure it out. But yeah, that'll be up for a week
and then we don't have as yet. No, you gotta get them.
I was gonna go get them. I just ran out of time all for
next time. Yeah, they won't ship until like late January or early February,
so it'll be a while anyway. Game Awards we'll talk about who won
first. Yeah, well, let's cut to the chase. Hey, remember
when we were fighting about whether Zelder would win a Bolter's Gate would win up
top baby? Think it was not really, but we we had separate picks.
Yeah, we had separate picks. Yeah, you were, you were,
I think, if I remember correctly, your stance was that you thought
Zelder was gonna win, but you hadn't played Boulder's Gate, so you didn't
really have a bar. No, it was more. I think I was
going more for what I thought deserved to win. Okay, you hadn't played
Boult's Gates. That's hard for you to say. Yeah, I just yeah,
yeah, exactly. Yeah. I fell into the same trap with music
because I had played every game in the music category except Final Fantasy, so
I didn't even know what that sounded like. And I just kind of voted
between Zelder and Boulder's Gate, and then Final Fantasy was like it won,
and everyone was like, yeah, music is great. People keep talking about
how great that game is, but everything I've seen from it looks so bland.
Yeah, I gotta to get on a tangent, and I feel like
if I played it to be fine, no, no, no, no,
it won't be. Because everyone I've talked to that loves it, like
Bingal, my friend Kip, everyone that I know that loved that game.
They say the story's fantastic and had the hooked the whole time. The visuals
and the music are wild, but the gameplay is so linear and the combat
is so boring, like just boring. But you play it for the story,
which I get because I started it. And the story is sick.
Oh, the story is sick. I can't imagine. I know it's like
Game of Thrones, but in Final Fantasy world, Okay, it's really cool,
and that's because it's it's emerated now too, like the first mature Final
Fantasy. So there's a lot of blood and people like losing limbs and heads
and stuff, and it's like, whoa, this is the sick cut scenes
because everything's so gray and I know it's like a brooding but think think about
Game of Thrones and how gray and brooding and generic it is. Yeah.
Yeah, so it is actually really good in that aspect. But anyway,
I win, boulders Gate wins. Whooo. I was the last announcement of
the whole night. I walked up in a shoot armor. Oh yeah,
he did. I bet my chat. I bet my YouTube channel one thousand
dollars. By the way, I don't know if you caught on times did
see that? Yeah, I bet one thousand dollars in my Game Awards video
that I was that I would be right because it was my it was my
three pete. I was going for three years in a row of being right
about the I'm boasting a little, but this is the one thing I'm really
proud of is I always get Game Awards right. And I out of all
of my picks, and I don't take all of the picks too seriously,
just the main one I really care about. But I was, I had
like over sixty percent correct, which on paper looks like it's close to fifty
to fifty, but if you consider that each category is a choice of five,
that's a twenty five percent chance. So if you're just like rapid firing,
it was me actually like picking and like trying to figure out. And
I think I don't know what the average of how I actually did is,
but I think I did really good. So I got most of them right.
Cool, Yeah, so that's me. How'd you do? I was?
I wasn't trying to be right. I was just trying to decide what
I thought deserved the best. Oh no, I was trying to be right.
Yeah. Yeah, we were on completely different goals here. I like
feeling like my opinions on video games okay okay, And that kind of showed
me that they are most of the time. Every year that I do the
Game Awards, I do a T shirt blazer. Count how many people are
walking up on that stage or are in some b roll. You're wearing a
T shirt and blazer this year eleven. Oh, it's not too bad.
It's for a whole people walking up. I think, what do you want
to do? Suit and tie? Well, yeah, for the Game Awards,
Oscar guy, the guy to shoot, Yeah, dress up. You
gotta gotta compete with that. You compete with a suit, whole suit of
armor. That's why he's gay with the year baby. But in previous years,
I think the most was like sixteen. That's a lot. That's a
lot of T shirt blazers. That's a lot of Usually it's a graphics scene.
This time there were nice T shirts. They were like just black tea's
with how many suits were you counting suits? No, just T shirt blazer
because that's a that's a weird combo that you only really see at the Game
awards. A lot of devs just throw a blaser over their T shirt.
Yeah, would you guys ever go? I wasn't counting people in the crowd
because that's if they're just doing a sweeping shot. Yeah, it doesn't count.
I would go, I would go. I would I went in uh
twenty seventeen. He was the same year as a lot of our friends went,
and it looked pretty cool. Dude, it it is awesome. And
then we got lucky, like we went a couple other people and somehow we
got like golden tickets where we see you got to go to the chocolate Wow,
did you lick the snawsberries? Did you lick the schnas? I don't
like when he popped out. I don't like when he looks at the screen
and says, what the frame? He looks at the what is happening to
the box? Pocked up? My job? This? Was there a thumb
on my face? Again? No, No, it's fine, We're good.
It popped up. But I don't know what that is anyway, Uh,
I don't know what it is. It just pops up. It pops
up every once in a while, a big imagine that keeps happening in one
of your YouTube videos and you're like, what happened? But that was in
the last episode. Brandon didn't even edit it out. He left it in
branded we're live, just could definitely take it out. I know that's not
you. I clicked on a random part of the episode and I was like,
oh, there thumb going like this. No one knows why it happens
or anything. I don't know if that means the show needs a new editor
next year if we have the perfect one. We got like special tickets for
some reason, and like everyone's got normal, like raffle tickets. We got
like silver and gold like plated tickets, and we sat like ten rows back
and watch the whole thing. It was crazy. It was it was actually
like really cool. Wait, sorry to interrupt. How could he edit it
if it was a live Well no, no, no, no, the
next episode, the next one. That means that he was using the OBS
recording and not the ISO. Yes, yeah, that's why he could have
edited it out, but he didn't. Because when we record them, I
write the same thing on the line. The whole thing. Okay, all
right, Sorry, sorry I put the mug in the description of the video.
Yes, I would go to the game. It's cool. I mean
now now I think it's invite only, but like back then, I feel
like seaking. I feel like we could get an invite. Oh ship like
like of course you can, Like, yeah, we we had to register.
I mean there were people there that like, if they could go,
I could go. I saw a Numa there. Oh yeah, ag our
buddy ag Yeah. Yeah, So like if he's gone, but we why
can't I But we all said the only reason why we went was because we
had got lost on him. I guess. Ps X was the same year,
so that's why we were like, oh, let's do both. And
it was like the PSX PlayStation experience, which was you know when they do
their announcements, Yes, Triple X, I'll do it again, Horizon zero,
I met doctor disrespect. What's a second? How can we spin this
in a second? And all right, next announcement of my mountain? This
is backwards this list. So the best game direction was Alan Wake two.
Yeah, yeah, I love so Alan makes sense? That makes that makes
it? Alan Wake two was the in my Opinion's second winner of the Game
Awards because they really they shined. They won a lot. They had a
whole musical segment which was sick. That was very funny because it's so good.
I only know that there's like a goofy little song in the game because
of it. Think Donkey's video. Uh so, if you don't know anything
about Allen and I just looked weird, like my whole chat was blowing up,
like I haven't played the game, what is going on? I thought
it was a horror game, so I had to try and explain it to
him. You know what makes it extra funny is that there were rumors that
Nintendo was going to announce the switch to and people were going nuts. And
do you know why those rumors happened? Because they changed their logo on our
YouTube Nintendo they went to a default YouTube icon. So I don't even think
they went to a default I think they updated the icon and it takes a
while to refresh. Oh, so it just looks like this like a whole
day. The whole day, it was just a pink end which it looked
like a default Google thing. But that was the whole basis on Nintendo's doing
something with the Game Award. There was some random guy who who tweeted,
uh, I have a I know A bunch of Nintendo devs are at the
Game Awards and they said, in the next thirty minutes, there's gonna be
a big announcement. So my friend Jerry called me. He was in my
chat. He's like, dude, it's gonna be nuts. Jeff Keeley just
tweeted, if you aren't watching, you better watch in the next couple of
minutes, and he did. Jeff Keeys like, you better watch the next
minutes. And then you know what happened. What the fucking Alan Wake happened.
We're doing a silly song and dance. Everyone sitting there like, I
don't switch to announcements, stupid Allen Wake dance. That was awesome. It's
funny that Jerry did that because every time I got up to pee, my
friends would text me and be like, switch to you're missing the switch too.
My god, I knows The reason why the title of this episode is
Nintendo Hates Game Awards. Nintendo had zero presence this year. Other than accepting
the award they last year. All they did was they showed highlight clips during
the ad breaks of games that had just come out this year. Nothing,
not a single ad, not a single game, not a single preview,
not a single announcement. I mean usually at Game Awards we don't get much
from Nintendo. All I can remember is getting Sephiroth and Joker and Smash was
revealed there because I think it's a big deal, and I think it's a
chance for them to take a character that's outside of Nintendo, show it to
these people that aren't there just for Nintendo, and be like, hey,
come to Nintendo, come play. That makes a lot of sense. Why
do they not do anything else? Though they usually do pretty big announcements at
the Game Awards, not for the last couple of years. Last year they
did Bayonetta Certsia. Remember we had a whole conversation about that. You said
big announcement and five of them engaged DLC. That was last year. I
thought you said big announcement. I think Bayonetta Certsia whatever the hell you call
it, baby game. It was like a half price six baby game.
It was twenty twenty one. They did nothing in twenty twenty one. Twenty
twenty twenty was sepher off. That's a big off. Twenty nineteen was Bravely
Default two. Yeah, see, none of these, none of these are
big. The twenty eighteen was Marvel Ultimate Alliance three and Joker and Smash,
and twenty nineties like that good. Twenty seven was good. Twenty seventeen was
Breath of the Wild, the second DLC they announced it and show so they
show like they show Bayonetta one and two being ported and also the big announcement
for Bayoneta three twenty seventeen. Right, so that sounds like the last year
because other than that, it sounds like old DC and then like spin off
side games and smaller. Ultimate Alliance three is not a side Well that's the
biggest one in the whole list. And that was twenty eighteen. You said,
yes, but even that's like that was a flash in the panamament.
Every every it's not a good game. No, that was a huge deal
when they announced that it's a it's a first party Marvel. I would be
surprised if it sold a million copies. Okay, that's still also Joker and
Smash was that year. Every year they have a huge announcement except for twenty
twenty one one considered huge and Smashed Joker and Smash, Bayoneta three, and
it's a cool Bonetta Firelan engaged deals. I don't think if you said,
if you read that out to any fan looking to get something really cool from
Nintendo at Game Awards, they'd probably go, oh, so I shouldn't expect
much. Okay, So every other year was Bayoneta, that's three, Joker
and Smash and Seph and Smash. Those are huge deals, every single one
of them. Compared to like six World premiere PlayStation games and like X getting
dead Blade and like all of this, like awesome stuff happening. PlayStation had
a huge year this year. They have a huge year every year. I
don't think Nintendo has to care about the Game Awards though, I don't think
they do care. I think it's surprising how much they have put into the
Game Awards in previous years. Yes, yeah, but that's what I'm saying.
I think that why would they announced Smash characters of the Game Awards.
That's crazy. Well, they they're announcing the PlayStation characters at the Game Awards.
They're not announcing like Nintendo characters or Banjo characters. They're announcing PlayStation characters.
So you know, they show a clip for the new Final Fantasy and
then oh, look, this guy's in Smash now. But that also doesn't
you know, make it so they could put out a direct on it.
They just be like, oh, here's the announcement. Yeah. Ever,
like I was expecting a game announcement from them because they usually have an announcement
of some kind. I was literally saying in my stream all night, people
like switch to Nintendo. I'm like you, we're not going to see any
Nintendo. There was no nothing last year, there's nothing this year. There's
no best. We get d OC, we get Smash characters, and Smash
isn't going anymore, so that can't happen. And then like crappy side spin
off games like they did tweet out that like this weekend was because it's the
five year anniversary of of Smash. It's like five times XP for the game.
Wow of what Smash five times XP and Smash? You get XP and
Smash. I didn't know that either. What's the XP for GSP? I
don't know the online something it said five times I didn't This is much an
maybe online that feels like GSP. Yeah, it feels like you that's not
that's probably I don't think that's right now. I don't have my controller with
a thousand buttons on Jesus anyway, I don't. I mean, I think
it's clear and what whatever way we feel about the announcements, Intenda doesn't really
care about game awards. I think they care about the game awards. Were
they they weren't there. That's weird. It's weird that they weren't there.
You think it's normal that they weren't there. I think it's weird that they
weren't there. Well, I think it's I never would have expected normal based
on the last ten years. I don't think it would have ever made sense
for them to announce a hardware that's not crazy but the game, or a
DLC or something. There was not a licking Nintendo tweet before this. They've
been there at least a little bit. A little bit, I'll give you
a little bit. These are league games that they've announced in the past couple
of years, But those are that's a big It was two seventeen, Marvel
Ultimate Last Three is also a big game. Baner is Bonetta and it sucked,
and it whatever. It's first party, not first party, it's a
it's a fucking uh exclusive to the Switch game There was no three a single
There was not a single game exclusive to the Switch. Get the fuck off.
There was not a single game exclusive to the Switch announced last night from
a big Triple As studio. This is the first time, probably like nine
months, that you guys have had like a legitimate falling apart of the season.
They still even friends and it doesn't matter. I don't know. This
is really How about sleep did you get last night? Yeah? I go
like three hours. Uh you know what. Moment told me that Boulter's Gate
was going to win. As as soon as it happened, I was like,
oh, I've won this bet. When they gave chat, Yeah,
but my chat? Why do you give a thousand dollars to your chat?
Oh? I was just gonna PayPal someone just a random I was legit gonna
do it. I was very confident I was gonna win. When uh,
when Zelda won Best Action Adventure, I knew the moment it won that because
they rapid Fire so many things randomly, Action Adventure is always the runner up.
Yeah, every like well, it's also like best Best Action Game was
in the Rapid Fire. You have a bunch of Rapid Fires and then randomly
they do Best Action Adventure on the stage as a presentation with Numa, and
at that moment, I was like, they wanted him on stage, and
this is their moment to get him on stage, So don't rapid fire this
one, have him accept the award, go back to rapid Firing, and
also through all the awards. At that point, boulders Gate Larry Studios had
never taken the stage yet for their three awards that they won, so I
was like, yeah, so they got the Zelder people on the stage.
They made sure to do Action Adventure. I've won this bet and then sure
enough a suit of armor man came out right at the end. Remember do
we want to read the rest? Best adaptation was the last of us?
I mean everything else? Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
everything else. You watched the show, I know it's sick. I
just it was pretty good if you played the game there so, like,
I know, I barely played it. Oh well then yeah, it doesn't
matter play the game. I know they're releasing it again for the third time.
No, I mean a lot of the things were given, of course,
some of the things that kind of threw me a bit was and this
is no Shade, but Cyberpunk winning ongoing game that I was a little upset
about. I kind of threw me. I understand why it just I wish
it didn't because it sets a bad precedent. Well, I agree, that's
precedent. Yeah, you said it right, It sets a bad whatever because
the game should have been right the first time. It only won because they
fixed it. Well. Also, they put the DLC with Idris Elba and
apparently that was really really good. Apparently it is really good. But here's
the thing. There's two categories here. There's best Community Support and best ongoing
Game, and Cyberpunk was in both. I voted it for community support because
I'm like, look at what they've done for their community. They fixed the
game, they're improving the game. Ongoing game. It was up against four
Battle Royale kind of game, and it was gast an impact night all ongoing
games, games that continually go on. That's why I think it was.
And then Sliperpunk a first party game, what's the ongoing patches fixes? Yeah?
We or are we saying the DC was really good? Like that's not
ongoing games? Why I'm saying any game that's any game that should be split
into two cases. So I was very confused. It should be ongoing game
meeting Internet games that don't have a definitive end. Yeah, and that are
constantly being iterated on. And also, uh, I don't know how to
word it, like best game that fixed itself, like best game that turned
everything around, best redemption or something, because a lot of games games are
doing that now. Yeah. I feel like No Man Sky would be there
every No Man Sky. Rainbow six Siege, by the way, they had
a big moment that was crazy. Yeah, we'll talk about that with the
announcement. We could skip and do it now, but come back. As
long as we come back, we're kind of okay, We're kind of okay,
we'll get there much. No, I agree. Let me let me
look, let me look. Oh so player's voice, Yeah, everybody that
voted online. I guess Bouder's Gate three won that two, which is no
surprise. I was actually surprised boulders Gate three didn't sweep a little bit more
of some of the awards like direction and narration, just because if it is
game of the Year, surely it excels in some of those areas. But
Alan Wake I think got both of those, So it almost begs the question
like, did it actually come down to Zelder and boulders Gate like a lot
of people perceived. I think it came down to Bouldersgate and Alan Wake.
I think they tried to spread the wealth a little bit. Alan I got
a lot of that wealth and Zelder got one. Yeah, Zelda, Zelda
snubbed a lot here. Well, so Nintendo got Best Family Game also with
Mario Wonder they did. Yeah, then they also got best RPG. Yeah,
they got Pickman four with three awards, but I'm just no, they
got Strategy sim for that one. Yeah. For piment RPG was Boulder's Gate,
which makes sense. And I also have a qualm with that category because
there was five games in RPG. One was Bolder's Gate three, which is
for Game of the Year, and the other four weren't in Game of the
Year. Yeah, so mathematically there is no way that Botersgate can't win that
category because if there's a better RPG, why is that not in Game of
the Year. Yeah, it doesn't make any sense to me logistically. But
the best Action Game went to Armored Corps, which is crazy. I thought
it was good. Yeah, I voted for like, the way I saw
it was out of all the games in the category, that one was just
straight action, like its whole its whole being is to be an action game.
So I saw that. Also, Pizza Tower got snubbed. Yeah,
that was one that I got wrong. I was surprised. I'm mad about
that because I'm a little surprised. There was best Independent Game and then best
Debut. Yeah game. That's why I'm surprised because I hadn't heard of the
other ones, but Pizza Tower made such a big splash on its debut.
Uh yeah, Cocoon one, I've heard of that. I've heard of all
of these. I don't know if that's was that debut. I thought that
was the people who made Uh oh, is that what debut means? Debut
means the new studio. I thought Cocoon was made, but I thought it
meant the never really thought about it, but I thought about it was games
that debuted this year and he's that debuted this year and made a big impact,
is what I thought it meant. And that's why I went Pizza Tower
because I was like, that made such a big impact. I guess I
never really thought about it should be called debut studio, then well, no,
because the studio could exist, but the game, because studio could exist
for a while. What is their first game? That's what I'm saying,
debut because no one's heard of the studio is their first game. You could
do debut studio and then put the game next to it. That's weird nominated
for this is the weird category. Like that's I feel like that's confusing.
I like, I thought it was people who did Journey, made Cocoon and
you know Game Wars loves, Well, it can't be if it's a debut.
Maybe it's the people who worked on it. I got Pizza Tower Pizza
Box, ass uh, I liked Pizza Tower like that. I think that
got snubbed for Pizza Tower was not in the best independent game at all.
It was only in I thought that was weird too, But honestly, it
wasn't gonna beat c Stars anyway. Stars one and not Dave the Diver Really
Yeah, okay, whatever, dude, I like I thought, I think
Stars is a better game. Also, it's an actual indie game. Yeah,
Dave the Diver had they got into a lot of controversial game. Here's
here's a T shirt Blazer and hers counted to long story shot. If you
don't know, the team that made Dave the Diver is like a million dollar
company. Yeah, I've never heard of Nexion before, which is the company
that owns the company that made David Diver. Next was all over this game
awards. Every trailer had Next at the end. Interesting. Yeah, got
to look at that. I didn't hear about it until the day. What
they got going on. They just own like every game company. That's really
Yeah, bought his GET three winning multiplayer game. I kind of I predicted
that one too. I think that's definitely deserving. I'm honestly, I'm just
really happy of how much Alan Wake won and the representation it had. Did
you mean Journey or did you mean Inside? Because someone was saying Limbo and
Inside those are very similar games. Of like, I did not mean that.
A lot of these games, I'm just gonna be real, I don't
know any of them except like Pizza Tower saw the Indies, the indies,
I didn't really know. Yeah, but like I didn't really pay attention to
a game a viewfinder that I want to check out now that game looks I've
seen that before. It must be a subliminal. I want to check it
out. So the guy would made Cocoon. It was directed by Jeppe Carlson,
who previously designed Limbo and Inside. Okay, that's right. Yeah,
I think there's an Inside two coming out and it's not this guy or Limbo
two or something. They're making a two and it's it's not this guy.
Those games are awesome. Yeah, there's a planet of some thing was that
packs and it is on other platforms now, and that's a game that looks
a lot like Inside that you would like them. Cool? Cool, And
we can talk about all of the announcements because this game, this Game Awards
was really announcement time. That's what it is. Every year they blasted the
awards. They give people literally not giving me about the awards, thirty seconds
to talk. They literally get up there and they're like, I would like
to think, and then you hear I played them say like all right,
get off stage or something. At one point, Yeah, dude, well
I think he said that to somebody who's known for just talking. Well,
they what's his name, Christopher Judge. He remember last year we were reacting
together and he talked for eight minutes. You went up and made my luffee
came back and he was still talking. He was so cringe, like a
lot of the Game awards is cringe, but that I couldn't handle it.
He did. He wasn't saying anything cringe. It was just that he kept
talking. He wasn't saying anything. Yeah, it was just going on,
and he talked so slow, and all this time he was making a joke
about being there for a long time and he was still talking. Insane.
He talked for longer than the guy that accepted the award. He talked for
talk. He talked about talking long last year, for longer than the person
that got to talk about the award talk. That's because they didn't have a
timer for a very strange looking man. I also did like I love him
to death. Stargate SG one is core memories for me growing up. Oh
really, yeah, he played tilk. There was a guy that came up,
had like thirty seconds. They played him off, and then they immediately
brought on Kojima and Jordan Peel and talked to him for like ten minutes,
which like that was really cool. I was really down to it. I
was really into it, and I get it. But the whole time I'm
just thinking about how long they've been talking, and that guy got maybe thirty
seconds, Yeah, which is a little rough, but that part was really
cool. Let's talk about that part and everything else. Do you want to
start with freaking coj We're already his Oh ye, I watched the trailer.
It looks like I'm surprised. Wasn't Death strainding too? So surprised they're working
on im. Not surprised. I mean the reception to it was not welcoming.
I think he just wanted to move on. Yeah, well he is
making a Death Training too. It's happening. It's already been announced and everything.
Yeah, that's why I'm surprised there's another game happening alongside. I think
it's interesting because Kojima he went now with Jordan Peel, and you know,
wasn't Deathtraining with Germo? Yeah, he's gone. Well he was heavily involved.
Yeah, no, he was in it. He was an actor in
it. But he was supposed to make Silent Hills with Germo del Toro and
then that fell apart, and Guemo Delterurro said, I'm never working in video
games again. Okay, because Gillmo de Tourro was supposed to do something else
before that, and that fell apart. I think three Gilmo del Toro video
game projects fell apart, and he was like, fuck it, I'm out
of this. So then he acted and one that happened. Yeah, exactly
interesting. I'm very excited for this. The trailer looked very no, it
wasn't really trailer. The talking faces were very creepy because of how well they
were animated, and when the girl screams and her face just distorts almost unnaturally,
so it was awesome when her eyelids started to like droop a little bit,
like, oh, this is weird. Yeah, it almost it's uncanny,
And there was something happening in the reflection of her eyes, like a
door was opening, like the light was moving. Yeah. What I find
interesting about it is this is a technique that's been used every time we like
progress a little further in video games. Do you remember Heavy Rain, because
that game was like so realistic at the time, there was a big focus
on close up faces, like for the trailers it was faces talking, and
then the load screens in the game are like the faces moving and like looking
around and we're here again now with this more detailed, more realistic diligon and
meta what's it called the other the other engine that's using that's being made to
make this game. It's I don't know, but this is the project that
he's doing in collaboration with Xbox, so it might be an Xbox exclusive.
That's interesting. And he's using Xbox Games Studios techno ology. And I think
it's also interesting that he's using unreal engine, because I don't think uh,
I don't think Death Stranding is Unreal Engine. I can't tell you. I
think that's the engine that is. It's a Sony engine. I think I'm
playing that again right now on steam Deck, and I'm surprised a how well
it runs on Steam desk training Yeah, it's crazy, and be how good
that game looks? Game looks so cool. I just sold my stream deck
your steam deck steam Deck. That's sad. I got three? You want
one? Why why did you sell it? Because someone I don't play it,
and someone's like, i'll give you four hundred bucks for it. Oh
that's more than what you paid. I bought the third the third one,
so I ended up losing money, but I didn't care. I'll take one
if you have one to give Death Stranding. I want to give Death Training
was in the Decima engine, which is the Gorilla Games engine to borrow my
original Death Stranding is on the What Engines Decima, which is the Gorilla Games
engine. The Gorilla Games is Sony. Yeah, it's it's the Horizon zero
don engine. Okay, uh so it's yeah. It's interesting they're going with
unreal because usually Kajima likes to make his own stuff. Yeah, he's done
the Fox engine every you know, metal gear game or whatever. They made
a big stink about that Fox engine when Gear five was coming up. A
reason why he might be not worried about that or using a different engine is
because from what it sounds like, this isn't so much a traditional video game
as it is a movie in hybrid experience. So I am taking that with
a grain of salt because Kojima, that's just Kajima. It's his games are
always cinematic, and he always says this is unlike anything you've ever seen before,
and usually there's a lot of weird different stuff. But for like Death
Stranding, this isn't an adventure game. This is a strand type game.
It's a new type of game, and it's like Amazon. This is gonna
be some sort of like third person adventure game with a lot of weird shit
around it. I mean, you're walking in the confines of what's possible in
reality. But I will say that every time I play Death Stranding, it
does feel like an experience outside of the traditional video game media by the way
that it's presented and how it feels to play. It's extremely cinematic. It's
very cinematic. It feels like a playable movie, and it makes you want
It makes you do things that you don't normally do. It makes you think
about the game in a way where you wouldn't normally think about it. It's
a very third person in the box. Yeah, but at its core a
video game. Yeah, yeah, it is. And that's the same thing
with Metal Gear five, Like, uh that it's just a game where you
shoot people, but the way that you think about playing it and the way
that you go about way you interact with it is very Yeah, it's very
different, but it's still just a third person action game. Yeah. Yeah,
yeah, I agree. So so it's gonna be awesome and different and
cool. But I think this might be even more mind melting though and brain
bending than anything he's done before, especially if he's got Jordan Pill helping.
I think it's gonna I think the cinematics are gonna be absolutely bonkers. I
think it's going to be terrifying too. That looks like it's going to be
terrified. I want it to be a horror game because I think I think
it might, just from a psychological standpoint, might be the scariest thing anyone's
ever played. I'm down like it might not be Five Nights at Freddy's.
You scream because something pops out a it's not jump scare, but it might
be on the edge of your seat, and then something small happens and you
feel like you die inside. I just like Kajima because how weird everything is.
Yeah, everything's everything's just wild, just like you've never seen before.
So is Jordan Peele though. Yeah, true, those movies, it's them
coming together is really interesting, and I like the dynamic they said about how
Jordan grew up playing video games now makes movies and Kajima grew up watching movies
and now plays makes video games, and to have that come together is really
Yeah, Kajima really wants to make a movie. He it always so badly
He always tweets about the movies he watches. He goes to the movies and
he does a really long tweet breaking down the movie. And I saw this
side by side comparison of two movies he watched back to back that came out
around the same time. One was I Can't Remember It and the other one
was the New Marvels movie. The first one he wrote this whole epilogue of
like his thoughts on the movie and like it was so beautiful, and then
the second screenshot his novel was it said I watched the Mabels movie. Yeah.
His His Twitter is one of my favorite Twitter accounts. He also speaking
of Destraating and Kojima, you still have to watch Norman Redis's Ride Show where
he visits studio because it's really cool and interesting. There is a Kojima documentary
coming out on Disney Plus about Kojima on Disney Yeah, on Disney Plus.
That's wild. Apparently it premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in like June,
I went to before death Trending came out. I went to the pop up
they had in the city and it was it was awesome, and then like
you could take your hand and paint the black and put on the wall and
like sign it and stuff and the like. But he had like all statues
and like weird experiences and it was I didn't even know that was a thing.
There was also a pop up. There was a Kojima Productions. There
was a Kaduma Productions pop up in Japan, like right after we left.
They always have cool merch. They always do something cool when we leave.
I know, I used to have a Kojima Production's uh cell phone case.
It was like one hundred dollars but it was all metal and look, and
then I got rid of the phone like months after I got the case.
Did you keep the case? Yeah, I don't know where it is on
I won if we could go to the studio next time we're in Japan.
I mean that would that would be fucked up, that would be crazy,
that'd be awesome. Yeah, we should try to figure it out. I
don't know what we'd have. I can't imagine that we would be allowed to
do the Nintendo podcast exclusive. Yeah, okay, walk around, we'll figure
it out. I want to be on that episode. Yeah, I'd like
to be on an episode. No, why do I feel like eas Mic
isn't honest, Michael, it's just low, Okay, just low, All
right, what's next you want to talk about? We didn't even talk about
any of the announcements. Besides, I know, let's talk about the No
Man's Sky thing because we want could get back there. So I love he
fucking comes out. Sean Murray Murphy on the ten year anniversary of him lying
yes, Yeah, he comes out, and I feel like he hasn't seen
the public in a long time. There has something daylight in a long time,
because everyone was very upset with him because he promised a lot of things
about normally on Sky and then the game came out and a lot of it
wasn't true. But he spent ten years making the game better and putting a
lot of his promises back into the game. That trailer they showed right before
he came out, with the amount of expansion packs he's put in the game
over ten years, and watching the game change in each one of those clips
is insane. And the game is legitimately really fun now and I think a
better experience than even Starfield personally. But he comes out, He comes out
and talks about a new game, Uh huh, and he's promising the moon,
he said, he promises doing it again. He will no, not
the moon, the world, the world, the whole literally promises the world.
And like I understand because it is a grand scale thing and you gotta
you gotta, you know, hype up the game. But he's not like
pulling any punch, like like he should have learned from last time to like
just let the game speak for it, speak for it. Well, there's
some pr training. The thing is, here's here's the thing. Let me
get there. When he came out and he gave his spiel, his spiel
was, we don't want to have all these randomly preceidured planets that we've done
thousands of them. We just want to focus it on one world, on
one planet. So we're going to procedurally generate an entire Earth, and it's
going to have things like mountains that are as tall as mountains in real world.
Let me stop you. I don't think he said procedurally generated, which
is what the trailer says it though, does it? Yeah? I'm ninety
nine percent because I was looking for that. Yeah, it says it.
Okay, Okay, we'll bring the trail up while I'm talking I'll ramble to
the people. What's it called fire? No fire, fire, no something
fire flame of it's a good name, it's memorable, it sticks with you.
Just no man's got a new game. Okay. The mountains are as
tall as actual mountains in like aspect ratio wise, oceans, no fire,
thank you, that's a cool name. That's actually a cool oceans as deep
as oceans, and you all play on it together, like every player plays
on it together. As what he said, that concept is really cool.
Okay, let's take that, let's put it aside. Then you see the
trailer and it just looks like a generic game with a bunch of people running
around a bright, beautiful world, like four or five players riding things and
traveling around, and it looks great. It looks a little too good actually
to be actual gameplay, but they said that it is. But nothing's actually
happening. It looks very boring. Nothing's going on in the world, doesn't
seem to be any objectives. There's building and running around with people in open
areas. If you if you weren't told that the whole world is explorable,
and you just saw the trailer, that looks very boring. So I think
he had to say it it's an exploration game because the Noman Sky the hook
here, the whole game, the whole hook, and the whole reason to
play this is because you have a whole earth to play on. So without
that, it's kind of nothing. Yeah, it's just like Noman Sky is
mostly about exploration. This is another game that I need to know what you
do. So they're billing this as multiplayer. First, you're you're exploring the
world with your friend, and say how many players? Because he said everybody,
that's not everybody, Well that's most of this room, my friend.
I don't know if it specifically said a multiplayer Earth, a procedural Earth.
There you go, which it has to be. The reason, well,
the reason that confused me is because if it's multiplayer, who it's procedural,
Well, it's the same way no Man Skuy does. Then you have to
join up with a friend and then it's their world. Well the way the
way, yes, you're you're right. The way he was setting it up
when he said everybody, to me, it sounded like it was going to
be one world everybody's on. But if it's only four place, then yeah,
it would be like no Man's Sky, so essentially a no Mens guy
I started game. It procedurally generates my game and all of the billions of
galaxies, and then players can join my game. The cool thing about it,
though, is, let's say you join my No Man Sky game.
If I don't want to play one day, you can still open your save
and join the world that I created. Okay, so that is cool.
So I'm popping into your game. I also want to say, so it's
mine, but it's OS. I also want to say that I don't know
if it's four players. I think I just made that up. Oh you're
playing with other people. They're only showing you said that. I did say
that. You said that you find you have no friends. You only see
like four people on Oh no, that's five people, look like. That's
what confused me because he said no that it looked like he said everybody.
But then I saw maybe four or five people. Does chat? No as
chat? They might know chat smile. I feel like we don't know much
about this game. Does anybody know how many people can play on this I
on Earth because if they give you a whole Earth and it's light no fire.
If they give you a whole Earth and give you you're still seeing four
maps. There's four people walking in this scene. That's I mean, that's
not enough people for a whole Earth. This looks like six, but it's
hard to tell there and let's play together. You take Canada, I'll take
Australia. It just seems like it's not enough people for a whole Earth.
Yeah, yeah, I'm curious to see how it works, because again you
would have if it's procedural, you have to join other people's worlds. How
would you do that if there's like an infinite amount of people who can join
up on other people? How does it work in Noman Sky? If you
want to squad up with your friends? How many friends can you squat up
with? Gamely, you're limited it for one hundred multiplayer experience, which makes
it seem like it has to be a lot of people. Feels like,
I mean, if you're doing a whole Earth, you've got to have more
than four people. Yeah, it does well, but then they're gonna they're
gonna have worlds where there's gonna be like one hundred people in it. If
they're gonna uncap it, and then you're the whole thing will be mapped.
I mean, I would like to think thousands of people can play on this
earth like an MMO. Yeah, I mean that's what I would like to
hope. Ah, a lot of procedural stuff, the the idea of the
game, the base idea. I absolutely love having a whole world that's to
scale and you can explore it with your friends. Base concept. Love it.
I'm in. I'm hooked. You sold me. If I was a
publisher and you were a dev and you came to me and you said that,
I'd say, yes, do it, go for it. My next
concerns is what the hell do we do in this world and why is that
fun? Well, that was my issue with No Man Sky was like I
wasn't really interested in exploring. Yeah, like, which is the whole?
On Launch, that was the same issue. It had nothing to do.
That's what I'm saying. Yeah, on Steam it just says single player and
then online co op doesn't say anything. Yeah, no, there's I just
watched the whole trailer. There's no information outside of the trailer and outside of
what he was promising, which you can't take. You can't take that.
It's truth. Yeah, it's a little worrying, but No Man's Sky I
No man Sky launched. There wasn't a lot to do. It was just
basically you mind stuff and you explored I don't have to be the president though.
Well it changed a lot and you play it a fuck ton. So
why do you play that game? Oh? Do you really want to get
in it right now? Yeah? You have to explain that, because that'll
be why this game's interesting. Is it like Fortnite style building? I just
saw them building. There is building, There is a building game. Yeah,
interesting own dragons. So I to be honest, I played the game
for thirty hours, and I had so much fun in the thirty hours,
but I barely scratched the surface. There's so much to do as far as
missions to pick up, now to do on planets, crafting and mining and
building, all of that, the resource management side, upgrading yourself, upgrading
your ship, getting different ships, becoming a space pirate. Then there's a
whole online hub now where you can go to and pick up missions and go
to a world that's populated with way more players. Like it's like an online
world and they're all there doing their missions, and you go in and do
your missions, you come back, you do other stuff. There's way more
to it, but that's kind of as far as I ever got, and
there's a story in it. I mean, thirty hours is a long time.
It's a long time, but it flies by because you'll spend like five
six hours just mining to build a house or something. You lose like you
were, like I was in it for a while, and I was doing
it in VA two when it was really sick. But one part of the
trailer showed like four or five people on the ground and like two people in
the sky on like the dragons. Also six. I mean, it's hard
to tell. It's like four. It really does look like four, especially
off the photos. Most of the shots were four people. But then there's
like you see a guy flying by, and it's like is that an MPC
or is that another guy. There's one where there's five guys flying but it's
like five guys, and then then you see another one goes by and it's
like that guy might be an MPC, but I don't know about it.
There was a hud on the screen for the whole trailer, but there were
moments that looked so cinematic. I just couldn't even believe it was gameplay.
Yeah, there was a hud and it was following a character and then the
camera just just just removed. It's just unlashed from the character. I'm really
really confused. Huh, maybe you're the camera you're playing as. I mean,
that's every game kind of. We got a lot to get through.
There's a lot, and we're like done with the episode. Got a brother's
a tail of two sons is getting a remake that's made by the same guy.
Who Oh, yeah, that looks great. I'm gonna play that with
that game apparently is really sad. The original game you played single player with
both thumbsticks. No, no, you could Oh those also two players?
Oh yeah, what that's the second time you looked at the screen and sware
I said, okay, no him, oh, I don't know what's happening.
And I love for YouTube, but like fireworks just started playing on them.
I didn't do anything, all right, We're gonna you bring it up.
We're gonna take you bring it up. Please. It's just crazy.
Is it happening right now? I'll it was on the obs. I didn't
I swear to god, I didn't do anything. You're gonna have to take
a little look at you. I did nothing to do that trolling. I
don't know what happened. That doesn't make any fucking sense. You just go
like this, fireworks pop up in the world. Does that make anything?
Like this? Can I trigger it with with? Oh? Maybe? I
don't know. Did it happen that the thumbs up come back? When it
goes to full camp, we'll have to are you just go to him,
go to me, go to me. Fireworks? Oh my god, No,
it's not working. Not not happened. I don't know what. Are
you just using regular obs? There's no shot you don't. We have to
look at or something. There's some plug in or something. That was ridiculous.
That's fun. I feel like that was perfect. I can't. Oh,
it's ridiculous, right, what else is that? Oh, we're gonna
blash through these? But God of War got free d o C. That
is insane. It was kept completely silent. It launches in four days from
now Ye's and it's called Valhalla. It's an entire roguelike mode, which is
so sick. That's one of the biggest. That's the biggest announcement outside of
well it was one of It was one of my Favorites. Did you ever
play the I think it was called I don't know what it was called.
At the end of the Last God of War, there was a mode where,
you know, it was kind of like this, but I think it
was even roguelike, but it was very light. It was a replayable mode
at the end of the game where you could run through again and again and
again get different upgrades and power ups. This looks like they fully leaned into
it. This is like dead cells in the God of World the God of
War universe. Yeah, that's very exciting. I can't wait to play that
in four days. I can't believe they kept that secret. And it's free.
Also, Find of Fantasy sixteen got announced. Like the DLC that one
or two free DLCs. One's already yeah, the one that dropped last night
was free. It was an expansion for free. So PlayStation is just dropping
free DLC, which is so cool to see. In this this this Age
of Our Lord. There's a cool game called Usual June that looks really cool.
It looked really cool, the third person in action game. The colors
looked really fun, look like a narrative game. And then she's just fucking
taking a Sword to the Monster and I was like, oh, wait,
that looks cool. I love the vibes of that. Obviously, we briefly
mentioned Blade was getting a game. I'm a little worried about it because it's
looked awesome. It did look awesome. I was very excited about the trailer.
I was like, what the fuck is this game? And then it
was revealed to be Blade and I was like, oh, That's the only
reason I say I'm worried is because it's Xbox. It was Xbox, and
it's the people that made Disson It Dison it is great, but didn't what
did they make next? Wasn't Red Fall? Yeah right, yeah, yeah,
I mean they have multiple studios, but yeah, yeah, yeah.
So that's why I was a little worried about that. Yeah, it could
be it could go south, but hopefully Xbox learned from Redfall and they're a
little more on top of that one, I want to mention wind Blown,
which is by the creators of Dead Cells. Okay, so that looks cool.
It's a third person actually three people. It looked like this. I
don't remember that one. It looks cool Zone. It was just like a
third person action game, but it's made by the people made dead cells.
It looks cool. Oh, Sega had a really cool moment. Sega had
a really cool thing happened. They showed like this weird nostalgic like like live
actually live. It was like so nineties. And then they were like,
we could announce one game, but here's five that was really cool. So
it's uh, I don't have it here, but it's uh jets crazy Radio,
crazy crazy taxi jet set radio, Shanoby, uh I zoned out at
jet set. Honestly, those are the ones that I care about. Crazy
Taxi jet set radio and Shanoby and Golden Acts and one more was there a
fighter I don't remember. But but they're remaking all of their old games,
Streets of Rage, Streets of Rage, completely new experience, a new jet
set radio. I think it's the biggest thing because that's just people have wanted.
That's a remake. But Revenge of Shanoby is revengeby or Shanobi three,
whichever one is the good one is the best game on the Sega Genesis.
If we're not called about Sonic games, and maybe even if we are talking
about Sonic games. They tried to remake it for the three DS and it
was very bad. So I am excited for them to give it another go,
but I'm also cautiously optimistic. Jet Set Radio does look fucking cool,
but we also just got Bombar a cyberpunk which is essentially the same thing I'm
over at jet Set Baby went back. I hope the music says good.
Yeah, because that a remake just to the same music. Well, I
don't think the guy is going to be involved. We'll figure it out.
And a Crazy Taxi. I can't imagine a modern day Crazy Taxi because that
game is very archaic. I think all of these are just remakes, like
remat like well one for ones, the Crazy Taxi, Well, they're very
different. Golden Axe looks bizarre. Crazy Taxi also had it looked like it
had multiplayer with racing. That's cool, So that's completely different. But that's
cool. They should have cool stuff to it. Really, out of all
of it, I want to give props to the commercial they made, because
it's really hard to capture that old nostalgia and not have it be really cringey.
Something about that trailer really screamed like the nineties like they did it such
a good job, especially what it zoomedd in the eye at the end.
I almost got chills. I was like, oh, this is this is
nineties man. Yeah, I'm excited for all of that. It's crazy that
they've decided to announce every single Do you have any interest in playing the finals
with me? Yeah? Yeah, that looks like a game we might like.
I I played played it. Yeah, yeah, we liked it.
No, you know, I wanted to play it so bad, and then
you play it. You said the game sucks, We're not playing it,
and that ruined all holds. A different game the finals? Yeah, what
what game you're thinking of? A different game the one that recently the Bengal
and I played. That's not this. The finals is the game that I
wanted to play. Then we then we played the wrong thing. What did
you play? I don't know. Are you sure? Yeah? It's it's
not a Battle Royale. It's like it's kind of a battle right, but
not really like you you have to extract like a safe or something. Oh
that's not this. This is that weird game from like a year ago that
had a beta that's like Teams of three and they are very similar. No,
they're the same game. They're the same game. It's not because this
is the third person the one we played with the first person. It's no,
that's first person. It's first person. The finals is first person.
This is such a weird thing just between me and you that the audience is
lost on. But we did not play the game in this trailer, I
got an ad trying to walk. We need Bengal. We didn't play.
This is the game that I wanted to play, that we messed up and
we played the wrong I'm almost positive that's the game that you played. We
played the wrong thing. I'm almost positive as a game. We also talked
about how it has an ai announcer. That's cool. I didn't know that.
Moving on because I'm confused by that's good and I would like to give
it a tru I would like to give that one. Yes, Rise looks
really cool. That's Ninja. Is it Ninja theory? Yeah for Team Ninja,
Team Ninja, Team Team Ninja. They did metright other round. Who
knows? Okay? Ninja Theory is help Blade, which also looks really good.
Yeah, oh yeah, I'm excited for that. I really like this
person. I'm surprised this game is not out yet. They've this they announced
hell blay to like a billion years ago. I know, I know,
I think it's I think they're really going in on it, and I'm really
excited for it. Yeah, Roan Uh visually doesn't look that good in my
opinion, but gameplay looks phenomenal. I think we've seen a lot of those
types of games already, and I got confused with other types of games until
he pulled out a gun and shot a guy. I was like, I
want this game. So yeah, it looks really cool. How cool would
it be? I mean, the gun looks like it's not that comes in
March as well. It doesn't look like it's overpowered or anything. But how
cool would it be to play like a like a feudal Japan game where you
just have a gun and everyone else has swords like Indiana Jones when you get
a sick the Yeah, that would be awesome. Skull and Bones finally go
to release state. Well I'm not they're released. It had so many delays.
Apparently it comes out in February. Now I will be buying it.
I'm kind of obsessed with pirates and pirate games. I'm really hoping it's good,
but man, outlook not positive Outlook, not Outlook bleak Walk. Oh
yeah, big Walk. Sorry, that's not why I said, Oh,
what's Big Walk? Untitled Goose game development? That's really interesting visually like beautiful
other than the characters. Yeah, I think it's pretty cool. It'll be
silly. My oh was for dragon Ball Sparking zero. Oh yeah, people
that I wanted to go back to that old school tent thank you way of
dragon Ball games because they're so my biggest highlight of Yeah, it was.
It looks amazing. I don't like the name. It looks like a mobile
game, fucking zero. Yeah. Yeah, they really should have or just
like and just restart, you know. Yeah, I that looks really cool.
Fortnite who cauz ri Dev's happened Fortnite? Hold on Fortnite is doing a
collaboration with Rocket League and making a unique game together. I think that's cool.
So did the Lego people, but not as cool. Well, they're
in Fortnite. This is a unique game of the both of them collaborated.
Did you see Guitar hero a rock band in Fortnite? So in the in
the in what is it five that's out right now? Yeah, because they
released like Peter Griffin and Solid Snake. They also released a modes called like
Festival or something, and it's literally rock band they al wait, I did
see that. They're trying to be like Roeblocks where you can make any game
you want. But apparently Harmonics no, it's like built in like Fortnite did
it. It wasn't like a mod. Yeah, I know, but they're
giving the tools so that people can now make a rhythm from Harmonics And another
company made that happen in Fortnite, and now they're saying if this gets enough
hype, they can make a new rock band five or the Lego shit looks
insane. I'm surprised they're they they're instead of making their own lego game,
They're like Fortnite, you can just have it. I kind of want to
play the Lego Minecraft. It looked interesting. There's a two D game called
Tales of Ken Zura Zau, which kind of just looks like is that the
Prince Prince of Persia? Yeah, I kind of looks at that, but
it looks good. It actually looks exactly like the new princip Persia game.
But I am excited for both of those games. BioWare had a new game,
the Exodus, which I think was mostly cinematic. I won BioWare Veterans,
so it wasn't It was because that looked boring. If I knew it
was BioWare, I would have been more. It does look a little boring,
but I'm intrigued at the possibility. This whole thing, with all these
announcements is just sensory overload, and you just over the years you see all
of the same type of game. It's hard to get excited. I was
saying that last night. About halfway through. I was like, man,
this has been sick, and I've seen a lot of stuff that I like,
but I'm burnt out, Like I'm just getting glossy eyed at everything I've
seen. The Jurassic the Jurassic Park Survival one could be good if it's like
Alien Isolation. But in Jurassic Park, that could be good, or it
could be horrible. It could really go yeaway. There hasn't been a Jurassic
Park had. I think there's some sim games that people like, but I
can't imagine that'd be good. No, I don't think I can. There
was some Second Genesis games that I used to like, but I think I
was just a dumb kid. And there's the arcade game where you shoot the
dinosaur in the as so he doesn't shit on you. The what the arcade
game where you shoot the dinosaur in the ass doesn't shot all over you.
That's okay? You sure it wasn't a witrem No, that was definitely the
thing. Uh. Vision to Mona was actually pretty high for a lot of
people. And I think it looks really cool. Yeah that yeah, getting
a Mona game, another Mana game, and it looked beautiful. I actually
really liked the visual style they went with. The other big one was mons
A Hunter Wilds. Yeah, that looks cool. That comes out, you
know what's funny too. I'm really excited for that. During the event,
about halfway through, I was saying to chat, I would love a new
months to Hunt a game like on the stream, and some a chat was
like, Massahuna Rice, wasn't that long ago? And I was like,
it was two years ago, it's kind of and before that it was more
than that. No, it was actually twenty twenty one early. I looked
it up. It feels like longer though, but Worlds was three years before
that, so I was like I could see them announcing one now for like
a year away. Literally end of the event, they announced the new Monster
Hunter, and like, my chat blew up. I was like, oh
my god, I was right. That's so random. I wasn't actually predicting
it. It looks really cool. I have to stop playing Monster Hunter games
because I'll get it and i'll play it and I'll go this sucks, and
then I'll stop and then I'll come back to it like three or four more
times. Now you like it, No, I still hate it. I
don't know why I keep watching to buy it. It's funny because I had
the exact same thing, but eventually it stuck. It never stuck with me.
I always just kept going back and going back and going back, and
first I don't know why it makes me. I think about it. Afterwards,
I'm like, I'm like, oh man, I gotta get this now,
this because you're almost there. I'm almost there. But then I go
play it and I'm like, I hate this. While I'm actively playing it,
I don't like it. I kind of I got addicted to the last
one. I like the loop of like, oh, I need armored,
so I've got to go kill this thing five times. I like that.
But then when I go to do it, I'm like, fall asleep.
You might need to try different weapons. I liked Destiny for some reason.
I think I just like the actual mechanics of destiny. But it is repetitive.
Yeah, but I like doing that. I like the AFT doing it.
Yeah, whereas a monster and I'm like, I'm just mashing, just
hitting the guy. You might have tried different weapons. That's what everybody says.
What weapons do you use big long, slow one? No? I
did, and then people told me to use the duel blades, and then
I started like, you might just not like it. Polly has finally coming
to switch. It's an m m O. That's kind of like animal crossing.
Well sorry, huh Starry Valley, Uh Outlast Trials, Rise of the
Golden Idol, Stop me if you have anything to say about any I think
we did everything that anything. Oh no, there's one that looks sick less
Sentinel where where there was like those Androids and then that Akira and they here
the Devil. Don't worry. The Devil's here, And you're like, why
should I not be worried? I know she comes in, but that's the
thing. The devil kills every and then they think of and it's a girl,
and you're like, oh, that's the devil. It's like, come
with me, little kid, and come with me if you want to live.
That was That was horrible at uh. That game could be sick,
but it was a cinematic, so who knows. Yeah, I mean there
was a decent I kept watching trailers going oh, no gameplay, and then
they would show the gameplay. They did a good job of gameplays. They
need to start with gameplay. I don't know. I like getting a cinematic
as long as there is gameplay. The cinematics are all bleeding together. To
me. Now, I feel like I've seen everything, especially that's my same
game. I want to see the gameplay so I can tell whether or not
it's my type of game. Oh unseen. The studio of the the person
who did the art for Ghost Wire Tokyo who went viral because they came out
and announced it and she went mad day and everybody was like, oh my
god, she's so cute. She came out with her she she got she
went viral, immediately quit and started her own studio because she was a big
big timer then. And that studio made their announcement of their first game,
forgot the name of it. Cool. It looks cool though, cool.
God, I'm just scrawling down. Oh the oh dude, the first Barzaka
game, the one that's like hyper realistic graphics, but then the people are
all like cartoony, like cell shaded mesh and it kind of like a sows
like a little bit. Oh yeah, yes, yes, dude, that
one. That game visually looks insane. The game I was thinking of is
can Murray ca moody. Oh cute. Uh, it looks really cool,
but again it's a cinematic trailer. So oh, that musical game for deaf
people looked really interesting. Yeah, that singing was horrible. Well, presumably
the person singing is not. You don't know that. I mean that the
main character in the game is deaf. The game looks very she does she
makes music, and you're doing it through her in the game, So I
don't know if the game's four people a vessel for the story. I just
like the idea. But there was like singing over it and it wasn't good.
I thought it was fine. I thought it was like straight to DVD
Disney singing bouts out of tune for us right now, Bobby, if you're
such a good Wow, that was something. Oh the Suicide Squad got another
look at that game. That's definitely going to be bad. I forgot Kevin
Conroy is in that. That's his last. There was one VA game I
like Batman. There was one VA game as Girls as God's Wrath and it
has Matt Mercy voicing I think the main back. Yeah, that looked.
I mean you're you're a VR guy, Yeah, what would you think of
it? Yeah? I think it for a VR game, it actually has
potential and could be fun. Via games, they always look really boring and
then you play them and then you're like, oh, I get it,
this is actually kind of cool. But when you look at the trailers,
yeah, nothing really stood out to me. And it was long, and
there was like a lot of moments where it was supposed to be hyped and
I was like, I don't have any attachment to this. Why are you
I'm gonna have to play it. The fun part about it is you get
it for free if you have the Metaquest three. Oh that's cool. So
I get to play it for free, and I'll let you know, all
right, we are way over time. Yeah, I'm just I think we've
blasted through most of it. I mean, ho Yo Verse had like seventeen
games World of Gutu. There are a bunch of good looking trailers that all
just look kind of generic. I'm weirdly excited for Space Marine two because it
looks like Gears of War, like a new Gears of War. Yeah.
Other than that, just some cool concepts and a bunch of announcements. I
don't think anything that really pertains to us too much. I feel bad if
we miss something, but I think we did appreciate you guys got shot.
Do we miss anything? Now it's a chance to let us know, a
chance put the fireworks back up? Oh I figured it out. So Obs,
for some reason takes over FaceTime, and FaceTime has reactions. I turn
it off. So how do you how do you don't do the reaction?
Is it a voice cue or is it turn it? Turn it back off?
Because you here's the thing. Last time a thumbs up went on my
face and I can, I can, And this time bub got fireworks for
putting thumbs ups. So a thumbs ups doing something that's going to crush the
bit right? It looks crazy? Can all the gestures to trigger read.
Can I say, can I add a suggestion for the new show? We
keep these? Wait thumb thumbs up? I think is fireworks? Heart shape?
I go to me, go to me? All right, I want
to see I'm making a heart shape. Thumbs up is a thumbs up emoji.
So that's what this is. To go ahead, let me let me
do it, all right? Let me know, do a peace signed with
one hand. It should be balloons and they're behind you to whoa wait to
go to go to me? Go to me, rock baby. It should
be lasers. It didn't work. I guess both hands. It's gotta be
both hands. Yeah, yeah, I want to see the lasers. That
was crazy. Your balloons is gonna take a while. Want in chat?
If we keep these for the new season, We'll just keep them from now.
We'll do it for the next episode. Two dude, it's so good.
It takes me a while to get to it. All right, hold
on, hold on, I'm wadding. He's he's doing this. Okay,
now too, he's done too. Whoa goes behind you? Crazy. It's
gonna happen randomly, best happy accident ever. You've just got to keep an
eye on it to make sure what's not permanent, but I think we should
turn it off. We need to keep this. This is sick, this
show me another podcast doing this live, real, dude, it's crazy.
All right, Next for be here, buddy, we'll see. Yeah,
right now, we got to do a live bonus. We're going to do
