WWE Raw Review: Gunther Destroys Goldberg in Promo, Jey Uso vs Cody Rhodes, Rollins Mission Statement, Asuka vs Cargill Set for Women's Fina

<v Speaker 2>Monday Night Raw review here on this Tuesday, the twenty
<v Speaker 2>fourth day of June twenty twenty five, with multiple pls
<v Speaker 2>on the horizon. I mean, at this point, we've got
<v Speaker 2>Saturday Night main event in a couple of weeks, We've
<v Speaker 2>got the Night of Champions event that's coming to us
<v Speaker 2>this Saturday, and yes, it appears still is happening. Despite rumors,
<v Speaker 2>despite internal pressure from stakeholders, shareholders, all of that, we
<v Speaker 2>are getting the event. There doesn't seem to be any
<v Speaker 2>indication that we are going to get any kind of
<v Speaker 2>switch in venue. And so love it or hate it,
<v Speaker 2>that is the that's the plan right now. So it
<v Speaker 2>makes sense given that, and again not getting into political
<v Speaker 2>stuff here, but just a general reason why. Well, number one,
<v Speaker 2>the WWE is projected to have a revenue from this
<v Speaker 2>event of fifty million dollars. It's number one, so and
<v Speaker 2>you know what they do have a duty to their
<v Speaker 2>shareholders of stakeholders to make the most money they can.
<v Speaker 2>That's why people invest in companies to make money themselves,
<v Speaker 2>So they do have an obligation there. But number two
<v Speaker 2>and one that's even being talked about more is safety.
<v Speaker 2>Is it safe for the organization? And right now, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean, look, Iran is no friend of Saudi Arabia.
<v Speaker 2>Saudi Arabia is much more aligned with United States than
<v Speaker 2>the Iranian regime. Okay, there doesn't seem to be any
<v Speaker 2>kind of direct safety threat that Iran has sleeper cells
<v Speaker 2>inside of a ri odd and you know that's what
<v Speaker 2>people are thinking, right, somebody's gonna somebody's gonna do something
<v Speaker 2>terrible at the event, Well, there doesn't seem to be
<v Speaker 2>any indication of that, and wouldn't you want to do
<v Speaker 2>it when somebody's not expecting it? On top of it,
<v Speaker 2>But also number three, it's the optics of the whole
<v Speaker 2>thing with went on in Iran. And right now there
<v Speaker 2>is a ceasefire. There wasn't than there was then there wasn't,
<v Speaker 2>right and they violated or whatever, But right now there's
<v Speaker 2>a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, and it seems to
<v Speaker 2>be holding. So there is not an active war right
<v Speaker 2>now going on between Iran and Israel. That is of
<v Speaker 2>this moment. There's not a war between Iran and Israel.
<v Speaker 2>The United States right now, despite what happened, Iron just
<v Speaker 2>at this point is just saying okay, enough, we're done.
<v Speaker 2>You know again, things can change in the blink of
<v Speaker 2>an eye. But between safety, optics, and money and all
<v Speaker 2>points to still wwe going there, pulling off the event,
<v Speaker 2>making a boatload of money, as they do every single
<v Speaker 2>time they go there, and then returning home. So that's
<v Speaker 2>the way it's going to be. I know that a
<v Speaker 2>lot of us don't like these reout events, and honestly
<v Speaker 2>it's I have nothing against the actual venue of where
<v Speaker 2>the events are held in Riod. Generally the crowd is
<v Speaker 2>pretty good, But it's more of the propaganda we get
<v Speaker 2>during the show that is clearly just trying to promote
<v Speaker 2>Saudi Arabia, trying to change the perception of the public's
<v Speaker 2>view of what Saudi Arabia and Riad are and what
<v Speaker 2>they can offer and all these things. And yeah, I
<v Speaker 2>mean that I don't like and so that's really it.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, that's the only thing I've got again, that
<v Speaker 2>is fairly kind of propagandized. And sure there's things that
<v Speaker 2>the country has done that are not exactly, you know, admirable,
<v Speaker 2>but there's a lot of cities in the United States
<v Speaker 2>that have done things that are not admirable. Okay, I'm
<v Speaker 2>glad I'm here. I would not move from the United
<v Speaker 2>States if you know, for anything. Okay, but nobody's innocent here,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm not coming to the defense of Saudi Arabia
<v Speaker 2>and their past sins of things they've done. All I'm
<v Speaker 2>saying is and not dive too into this. We're getting
<v Speaker 2>an event. It's happening, and I think people are just
<v Speaker 2>kind of deal with it and we'll move on to
<v Speaker 2>Saturday Nights Made Event because look, w A, at this point,
<v Speaker 2>they're overlapping so many events. They're off actually overlapping like
<v Speaker 2>four events right now. They have Night of champions coming
<v Speaker 2>up this Saturday, with a King of the Ring tournament
<v Speaker 2>mixed in that has Summer Slam implications. With a Saturday
<v Speaker 2>Night Made event, Goldberg Gunther, it does appear to be
<v Speaker 2>for the World Heavyweight Championship. I had to make sure
<v Speaker 2>that and because there's no real mention of it in
<v Speaker 2>the promos this past week. But no, that does seem
<v Speaker 2>to be the case. It is for the championship, and
<v Speaker 2>it's looking like some of the money, some of the
<v Speaker 2>betting lines are headed towards Goldberg winning and then seth
<v Speaker 2>Rollins cashing in. Very well could be the case. I
<v Speaker 2>would say, please don't do this, Please do not have
<v Speaker 2>Goldberg win. And you even heard by the mention of
<v Speaker 2>Goldberg's name this past week, by the way, the reception
<v Speaker 2>was not as positive. Once the initial shock and awe
<v Speaker 2>of Goldberg returning after a few year hiatus wore off
<v Speaker 2>and people realize what they had, they go, oh, that's
<v Speaker 2>oh yeah, that's right, it's just Goldberg, and they got
<v Speaker 2>over it. The people booed. I do not think people
<v Speaker 2>are extremely excited about Goldberg here. But look, if this
<v Speaker 2>is his retirement match, good riddance. I know we'll all
<v Speaker 2>sit through the two and a half minutes. It's fine.
<v Speaker 2>He's limited. He was, you know, he's been limited in
<v Speaker 2>the ring since he was twenty eight, much less fifty eight.
<v Speaker 2>So you add injuries on top of age, and it's
<v Speaker 2>not a good combination. So I don't need and I
<v Speaker 2>said this last week, but I don't need WWE to
<v Speaker 2>try to circumvent our expectations by having a longer match,
<v Speaker 2>just to have a longer match, just to try to
<v Speaker 2>troll us, because you're putting everyone at risk of injury
<v Speaker 2>and the match quality guaranteed will decrease as the minutes
<v Speaker 2>tick by. It's a guarantee, despite the fact that you
<v Speaker 2>have Gunther, who's one of the best in the world
<v Speaker 2>in the ring, that can only that can only do
<v Speaker 2>so much before Goldberg has to actually, you know, do
<v Speaker 2>something besides the Spiro or Jackhammer, which, by the way,
<v Speaker 2>I'm even concerned for Gunther in the Jackhammer. I'm just
<v Speaker 2>generally concerned for Gunther's health, not that Goldberg has any
<v Speaker 2>malicious intent, but I'm genuinely concerned about Gunther getting hurt
<v Speaker 2>in this match because of Goldberg's limitations. And this is
<v Speaker 2>not me personally attacking the man. Seems like a genuinely
<v Speaker 2>good guy, family man. So I want to always give
<v Speaker 2>that disclaimer because some people think I'm attacking then personally
<v Speaker 2>I'm not. From a professional standpoint, though I am genuinely
<v Speaker 2>concerned at about Gunther. I am. I mean, he nearly
<v Speaker 2>killed and that's not hyperbole. He nearly killed the Undertaker,
<v Speaker 2>go back and watch in one of the worst matches
<v Speaker 2>Goldberg's ever had. And that's saying something. Every match Goldberg
<v Speaker 2>has is not good, but particularly that one was bad,
<v Speaker 2>and it nearly killed Mark Callaway or paralyzed him at
<v Speaker 2>the very least. So I do not want Gunther getting
<v Speaker 2>hurt in this match. If it needs to be two
<v Speaker 2>and a half three minutes, let it be two and
<v Speaker 2>a half three minutes. Let Goldberg empty his tank and
<v Speaker 2>do a spears or kick out of a power bomb,
<v Speaker 2>and then you know, leave. I don't need, by the way,
<v Speaker 2>I do not need seth Rollins cashing in here. But
<v Speaker 2>predictions will come later in the week on Friday. But
<v Speaker 2>that's that. So let me actually give a shout out

<v Speaker 2>And again, this is not a prediction show for the
<v Speaker 2>Night of Champions event that comes this week, which, by
<v Speaker 2>the way, every single it's about every other week we're
<v Speaker 2>going to have a plee. So we had seth Rollins,
<v Speaker 2>bron Breaker, and Bronson Reid come out with no Pat McAfee.
<v Speaker 2>It's we had what's his name, Corey Graves. Cory Graves
<v Speaker 2>had Corey Graves on for the third week in a row.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know where Pat McAfee is. I haven't heard.
<v Speaker 2>Perhaps he's on assignment, designated for assignment. I'm not sure.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe some of you out there know what's going on
<v Speaker 2>with the pat Hopefully everything's okay. But I like Corey Graves,
<v Speaker 2>I really do. I think he's She's a great addition
<v Speaker 2>to the to the announced desk. So we had people
<v Speaker 2>chanting for Rollins at the beginning. We had him the
<v Speaker 2>people singing his song, which they do every single time,
<v Speaker 2>and we had fans barking for Breaker. And what was
<v Speaker 2>good is that Rollins still. Oh, by the way, La
<v Speaker 2>Knight is out indefinitely. They said some kind of cartilage
<v Speaker 2>separation in the ribs and a Bruce sternum. I think
<v Speaker 2>it was. They must have listened to the show, because
<v Speaker 2>I said that you gotta do something here with La Knight.
<v Speaker 2>You can't have him just come back next week uninjured.
<v Speaker 2>If you're gonna do something like that, it needs to
<v Speaker 2>have consequences and voila Night needs a little time off anyway,
<v Speaker 2>even if it's just a couple of weeks. So I
<v Speaker 2>like that a lot. So Rollins asked the crowd what
<v Speaker 2>they want? Good question. Actually it's a really good question.
<v Speaker 2>Instead of what do you want to talk about? He
<v Speaker 2>asks what they want? That's a very interesting, open ended question.
<v Speaker 2>In fact, it's so obvious to ask that no one
<v Speaker 2>ever asks it. I like that because it's just a
<v Speaker 2>wide open gamut of things they could chant for, and
<v Speaker 2>it kind of gives you a look into the minds
<v Speaker 2>of fans of what they want the most. What can
<v Speaker 2>they all agree on that they want, you know what
<v Speaker 2>I mean? Like, he didn't ask specific question of oh
<v Speaker 2>you want CM Punk, Oh you want OTC. He got
<v Speaker 2>there eventually, but he opened the question up completely, and
<v Speaker 2>the crowd initially you heard noise, but you didn't know
<v Speaker 2>what they were all gonna congeal to. A CM Punk
<v Speaker 2>chant did break out, and then Rollin said, exactly one
<v Speaker 2>minute you're chanting for Punk, the next minute you're channing
<v Speaker 2>for the OTC, and after that you're barking for the dog,
<v Speaker 2>and then after that you're singing my song. And then
<v Speaker 2>Rollin said it's obvious the fans don't know what they want,
<v Speaker 2>so he doesn't care what they want. That was really good.
<v Speaker 2>Rolind's had a really good night here. He said the
<v Speaker 2>people need visionaries like him to decide what's good for them,
<v Speaker 2>and he mentioned the fans having small brains. He said
<v Speaker 2>the things they want are because of him, then pointed
<v Speaker 2>to Rains and Punk as I mentioned, and said the
<v Speaker 2>company brought back Punk to capitalize on his hatred for
<v Speaker 2>him and said there would not be a second coming
<v Speaker 2>of Cody Rhodes had he not put this put him
<v Speaker 2>on the map, and said he was the first world
<v Speaker 2>heavyweight champion. Yeah, well the first one since they retired it. Well, sure,
<v Speaker 2>but he was the first NXT champion. He said. They
<v Speaker 2>exist as they are because he built them in his image.
<v Speaker 2>This is just good stuff. Here. He said, he is
<v Speaker 2>the creator, the prime mover the past, the present, and
<v Speaker 2>he is his crew is the future of the company,
<v Speaker 2>and referred to Hayman as his oracle. I like that.
<v Speaker 2>He hit like four home runs here with phrases and analogies.
<v Speaker 2>I like this here. He said. They both know a
<v Speaker 2>thing or two about revolutions. So I'll stop there. As
<v Speaker 2>I said, he really knocked it out of the part.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know who came up with this stuff, Rollin's
<v Speaker 2>some writers. This was just one good phrase after the other.
<v Speaker 2>I like Hayman. He went from being an advocate, well
<v Speaker 2>just kind of a manager, to an advocate to a
<v Speaker 2>wise man, now to an oracle or wonder if this
<v Speaker 2>oracle thing is gonna stick. I like it because also
<v Speaker 2>it fits. It's not just something new to call Paul Hayman.
<v Speaker 2>But it also fits because he's always talking about things
<v Speaker 2>being not predictions but spoilers, and what do oracles do?
<v Speaker 2>They know things, they spoil things. They they have this
<v Speaker 2>vision into the future that the rest of us don't.
<v Speaker 2>So it fits. I hope he keeps this and doesn't
<v Speaker 2>go back to this is my wise man, now, this
<v Speaker 2>is my oracle. So small thing here, but I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I just go ooh, that's that's good. And also I
<v Speaker 2>think WWE here is speaking through punk. They've done that
<v Speaker 2>a lot over the years. When they have frustrations with
<v Speaker 2>fans that they can't just air by having some nameless
<v Speaker 2>suit come out and you know, clap back at the fans,
<v Speaker 2>they'll use their wrestlers and promos to to hit back
<v Speaker 2>at fans. And I think that's what they did here.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it could have just been totally rollins, but
<v Speaker 2>it certainly was a corporate suit approved language here, because
<v Speaker 2>what he said is that the fans don't know what
<v Speaker 2>they want. They chant for this person for that person,
<v Speaker 2>and we're gonna tell you what you like. That's a
<v Speaker 2>corporate line. In fact, that's a lot of what the
<v Speaker 2>actual people in the company believe. I mean that's what
<v Speaker 2>people in the company believe, that we don't know what
<v Speaker 2>we want and only they do. They know better of
<v Speaker 2>what we want than what we do. And that's a
<v Speaker 2>lot of the Vince McMahon philosophy there. So he also
<v Speaker 2>talked about how they brought back Punk to capitalize on
<v Speaker 2>Seth's hatred for him. I mean, it's a little bit
<v Speaker 2>blown out of proportion. I'm sure when they brought Punk back,
<v Speaker 2>they weren't thinking, oh, we're gonna make so much money
<v Speaker 2>with cm Punk and Seth Rollins. I mean, they knew
<v Speaker 2>that rivalry was there. They knew that genuinely Seth does
<v Speaker 2>not like Cmpunk, which certainly is going to help things.
<v Speaker 2>But it wasn't the soul and or even primary reason
<v Speaker 2>that they brought Punk back. Punk back because the fans
<v Speaker 2>wanted him back, not because they saw the hatred that
<v Speaker 2>that that Seth Rollins had for Punk. But point taken,
<v Speaker 2>so let's continue. Rollins said La Knight stuck his nose
<v Speaker 2>in their business and got Tsunami after Tsunami for his troubles,
<v Speaker 2>and said Breaker had the chance to do the same
<v Speaker 2>thing to Penta, who's been a thorn in their side
<v Speaker 2>and said there are a lot of people who think
<v Speaker 2>they have what it takes to exist at the very top.
<v Speaker 2>And he mentioned John Cena and Gunther as their and
<v Speaker 2>their challengers, Punk and Goldberg and the remaining entrance to
<v Speaker 2>the King of the Ring tournament and said they're all
<v Speaker 2>running a race for second place. Another great line, Rollins
<v Speaker 2>pointed out the money in the bank briefcase that Haymen
<v Speaker 2>was holding and called it the end game again, somebody
<v Speaker 2>was doing their homework this past week of just rephrasing
<v Speaker 2>things in a clever way. Just just well done again
<v Speaker 2>and game is what the briefcase is talking about. The
<v Speaker 2>oracle for Paul Hayman. Just good stuff here, I mean
<v Speaker 2>all around a plus for me. For Seth Rollins easily
<v Speaker 2>his best promo since he formed this group. Dare I
<v Speaker 2>say easily his best promo in years, regardless of what's
<v Speaker 2>going on this, you know, even when he was a
<v Speaker 2>baby face not too long ago, which I grew tired
<v Speaker 2>of much quicker than others. But this was just a
<v Speaker 2>great promo for Seth. Great one. I mean, it goes
<v Speaker 2>in the the promos I wouldn't mind listening to. Again.
<v Speaker 2>You know, we're not one that's gonna make headlines or
<v Speaker 2>start trending, but one that I think should be appreciated
<v Speaker 2>for what it was. It was a statement promo, a
<v Speaker 2>mission statement promo, and one that helped get everybody over
<v Speaker 2>and give direction for the group, like why are they here?
<v Speaker 2>Why do you exist? What's your purpose? We got that
<v Speaker 2>they're here to give us what we don't think we
<v Speaker 2>want or don't even know we want. And I like it.
<v Speaker 2>I mean it's just good stuff. So all right, enough
<v Speaker 2>putting it over. So yeah, now the analysis I'm reading
<v Speaker 2>right now says this particular person said it was a
<v Speaker 2>solid yet fairly routine promo from Rollins. I strongly disagree.
<v Speaker 2>He's said that he liked that he's dropped the outfits
<v Speaker 2>that he wore, and yeah, I would agree with that.
<v Speaker 2>And that's the other note I was gonna make too.
<v Speaker 2>Is it seems like Rollins has landed on some kind
<v Speaker 2>of consistent attire beyond shopping at wherever the hell he
<v Speaker 2>shops Frederick's of Hollywood, I don't know. Before every single
<v Speaker 2>show where he could not find an identity, now he's
<v Speaker 2>kind of got one. I like his look. Okay, so
<v Speaker 2>we have bron Breaker take on Penta with Paul Hayman
<v Speaker 2>at ringside. This match went fourteen minutes. Yeah, this is
<v Speaker 2>a longer one than I thought it would be. With
<v Speaker 2>Penta hitting and Destroyer for a near fall, Penta went
<v Speaker 2>for a springboard move, but Breaker speared him in midair
<v Speaker 2>and pinned him. Not the cleanest spear in midair, but
<v Speaker 2>as good as it could be, and Cole sold it,
<v Speaker 2>which helped and one two three, Breaker gets the victory.
<v Speaker 2>After the match, Rollinson Reid come out and congratulated Breaker
<v Speaker 2>and Rollins got in the ring and told Penta on
<v Speaker 2>a not on a microphone, but on the camera mic,
<v Speaker 2>that this was his one morning to stay out of
<v Speaker 2>his way. I like that sometimes you can deliver promos
<v Speaker 2>that the in person crowd doesn't need to hear. They
<v Speaker 2>can hear it later. It's not pivotal to what they're
<v Speaker 2>trying to do live in that moment. It's fine that
<v Speaker 2>it can be captured on a mic, on a you know,
<v Speaker 2>a camera. So that's good. And even though he got spirit,
<v Speaker 2>it's still his warning. So imagine after he doesn't heed
<v Speaker 2>the warning, what they're gonna do to Penta. They're gonna
<v Speaker 2>do with de Penta? What they did to La Night,
<v Speaker 2>I would imagine is what the warning is there, That's
<v Speaker 2>what's implied. So just good stuff here all the way around.
<v Speaker 2>I zero complaints from me when it comes to the
<v Speaker 2>open here to the match with Breaker and Penta, and
<v Speaker 2>Penta who is starting to lose the little momentum but
<v Speaker 2>can afford to He burst onto the scene and seemed unbeatable.
<v Speaker 2>And now there's a little bit of you know, a
<v Speaker 2>little bit of a downslide, but that's fine. Honestly, Breaker
<v Speaker 2>needs it more. Just generally, Seth's group I have been
<v Speaker 2>saying for a couple of weeks now needs more momentum.
<v Speaker 2>They need to stop losing, need to stop getting beat down.
<v Speaker 2>They need some kind of unity. And that's what we got.
<v Speaker 2>It's exactly what the doctor ordered for the first thirty
<v Speaker 2>minutes of raw. So we then have Adam Pearson form
<v Speaker 2>AJ Styles that Live wasn't the only person bitten by
<v Speaker 2>the injury bug. He said Dom was also injured and
<v Speaker 2>therefore their Night of Champions match was off, and Styles
<v Speaker 2>said Don was ducking him and said the match would
<v Speaker 2>take place as soon as Dom is healthy. So yeah,
<v Speaker 2>Don is injured apparently too. We'll see I mean, I
<v Speaker 2>honestly don't know if that's a work or not. It
<v Speaker 2>is a little bit suspicious. That's suspicious. I was going
<v Speaker 2>to do a reference to Parks and Rec, but I
<v Speaker 2>don't know how many people know Parks and Rec. Well
<v Speaker 2>won't that actually watched the show, So I won't make one.
<v Speaker 2>But if you know, you know, we have then the
<v Speaker 2>New Day Show up with Grayson Waller after Styles left
<v Speaker 2>the room, and Pierce book Kingston and Woods in a
<v Speaker 2>tag title match against Finndbaler and j D McDonough for
<v Speaker 2>next week. Okay, fine, I mean, is that finally going
<v Speaker 2>to be the split of Waller and uh, you know
<v Speaker 2>maybe Austin's Austin theory? Can we finally get that? Can
<v Speaker 2>we finally get a break from those two? So we
<v Speaker 2>then had Cole sit down with Goldberg, which you guys think,
<v Speaker 2>maybe I'm going to crap on as much as I
<v Speaker 2>have kind of pooped on his innering ability and you know,
<v Speaker 2>length of match and all the rest that everyone's been
<v Speaker 2>criticizing for twenty years. This was as good of a
<v Speaker 2>promo as you could expect for Goldberg. He's not screaming
<v Speaker 2>and yelling and you know, banging his head on on
<v Speaker 2>some locker backstage and making himself bleed. You know, he's
<v Speaker 2>not just saying you're next. He actually had some context here.
<v Speaker 2>He had a human element to himself in character. That
<v Speaker 2>was a nice blend. So I really have nothing bad
<v Speaker 2>to say here. In fact, it was very concise by Bill. Now,
<v Speaker 2>what did he say if you didn't see or if
<v Speaker 2>you forgot, He said that he took his family to
<v Speaker 2>a WW event as a bystander, as a fan. He
<v Speaker 2>was there to have fun, and he stepped into a
<v Speaker 2>verbal assault from Gunther, and the lack of respect by
<v Speaker 2>Gunther astonished him, and he was embarrassed in front of
<v Speaker 2>his wife and his son, and said there was no
<v Speaker 2>way he was going to let Gunther get away with that,
<v Speaker 2>and said it doesn't matter that he's fifty eight or

<v Speaker 2>Gunther and Goldberg before Saturday Night's main event. Why injury?

<v Speaker 2>injury prone by an exponential amount compared to somebody who's
<v Speaker 2>thirty eight. You know, I have to look at Gunthrom.
<v Speaker 2>I think he's twenty years old. He might be when
<v Speaker 2>you're younger than Goldberg. So I don't need somebody that
<v Speaker 2>could potentially, yeah, pop a hamstring, sprain an ankle one

<v Speaker 2>risk anything. I don't need Goldberg or Gunther in any

<v Speaker 2>lend your you know, some possibility that they could do
<v Speaker 2>something physical, But I don't want anything physical with these two, Okay.
<v Speaker 2>At the broadcast table, Cole said he asked Goldberg after
<v Speaker 2>the interview if his retirement match was definitive. Cole said
<v Speaker 2>Goldberg confirmed that it would be, and said he asked
<v Speaker 2>Goldberg what what happens to the World SAP Heavyweight Championship
<v Speaker 2>if he won, and Cole said Goldberg told him it
<v Speaker 2>was a very interesting dilemma. They so they did acknowledge
<v Speaker 2>that it was Goldberg's final match, and it hasn't really
<v Speaker 2>got a ton of promotion that way, although they probably should.
<v Speaker 2>If this is Goldberg's true swan song, then they should
<v Speaker 2>market the hell out of it. Goldberg is a brand name.
<v Speaker 2>He had a hell of an impact, albeit twenty five
<v Speaker 2>years ago, but he did less so in WWE. He
<v Speaker 2>made most of his you know, he created most of
<v Speaker 2>his value in WCW had a okay run for the
<v Speaker 2>one year he was in WWE that I mean even
<v Speaker 2>he didn't like it. But ever since anyone came back
<v Speaker 2>in twenty sixteen face brock Lesner here and there, you know,
<v Speaker 2>I think he didn't he beat He beat up Dolf Ziggler.
<v Speaker 2>He might have beat up Bray Wyatt for the title.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, he's been in and out. So they should
<v Speaker 2>really do everything they can to market this says Goldberg's
<v Speaker 2>last match, and they should just use a lot of
<v Speaker 2>video packages for the next two weeks. Okay, but yeah,
<v Speaker 2>the world title is an interesting dilemma. If he wins,
<v Speaker 2>which again makes you le lends it to believe that
<v Speaker 2>Goldberg doesn't win, But if seys there to save the day,
<v Speaker 2>then it's plausible that Goldberg wins. I don't see the
<v Speaker 2>need to have Goldberg win because then you're also you know,
<v Speaker 2>Gunther's gonna be there for years after Goldberg leaves. You
<v Speaker 2>do the favors for the guys that are still there
<v Speaker 2>when you're on your way out. That even I know
<v Speaker 2>that is etiquette in pro wrestling that when you are leaving,
<v Speaker 2>whether it's retiring or back in the day, you were
<v Speaker 2>wrestling in a certain territory, but you were going away.
<v Speaker 2>You were leaving that territory, you do the favors for
<v Speaker 2>the guys that are still there, meaning you lose. We'll
<v Speaker 2>see if that tradition stays when Gunther faces Goldberg. All right,
<v Speaker 2>let's move on. We have Jade Cargill versus Roxanne Perez
<v Speaker 2>and a Queen of the Ring semi final match. This
<v Speaker 2>was a match that went, let's see the timestamp, eleven
<v Speaker 2>minutes and thirty seconds. Pretty good, you know, decently sized
<v Speaker 2>match here, and the finish was Jade going for her finish,
<v Speaker 2>but rox Sanne rolls through, bridged into a two count,
<v Speaker 2>and then Perez ducked a pump kick and dropped her
<v Speaker 2>with the kick of her own. Perez slammed her knees
<v Speaker 2>onto the back of Cargil's head, covered her for a
<v Speaker 2>two count. Perez then showed frustration, fled away with punches,
<v Speaker 2>and Perez went for her finish, but Jade avoided it
<v Speaker 2>and threw a pretty bad kick that made no count
<v Speaker 2>excuse me, no contact with Perez, but Jade powerbomb Perez
<v Speaker 2>and picked her up and hit Jada for the victory.
<v Speaker 2>So Jade Cargill beats Roxanne and she went to the
<v Speaker 2>stage to make sure she gets the nice camera shot
<v Speaker 2>of Oscar who came out or removed her mask, and
<v Speaker 2>they had a nice, well, I shouldn't say nice, a
<v Speaker 2>very staged, pun intended, I guess moment that of course,
<v Speaker 2>that does not feel organic in any kind of way

<v Speaker 2>so many funny things. But that may be and I
<v Speaker 2>remember that still burned in my brain of how horrible
<v Speaker 2>that photo op you know, quote unquote moment was with Roman,
<v Speaker 2>Reigns and Goldberg playing tug of war like and and
<v Speaker 2>it went on way too. It went on for like
<v Speaker 2>a couple of minutes to end raw and they must
<v Speaker 2>be sitting to themselves like, hey, did they get the shot?
<v Speaker 2>How much longer do we have to pretend to pull
<v Speaker 2>the belt away from each other? So let's move on.
<v Speaker 2>We then have the fin again, the finals here of
<v Speaker 2>Oscar versus Jade, and we'll talk about that prediction on Friday,

<v Speaker 2>seemed to click. The names were great, the star power
<v Speaker 2>was great, but boy, I remember remember that just nothing
<v Speaker 2>seemed to click with them and so anyway, but this
<v Speaker 2>was not particularly exciting. I am a little concerned of
<v Speaker 2>what they're doing with Russev since he returned, meaning it's
<v Speaker 2>not a whole lot. I mean, they're not doing what
<v Speaker 2>they're doing with Alistair Black. I mean Alistair Black doesn't
<v Speaker 2>even get to talk, which is par for the chorus
<v Speaker 2>before he left. I think I mentioned this when he
<v Speaker 2>first returned. Maybe this should just stick him in a
<v Speaker 2>dark room and have people knock on his door again.
<v Speaker 2>At least that was semi interesting of like, okay, who's
<v Speaker 2>knocking left a little mystery. He didn't have to be
<v Speaker 2>in front of a live mic in front of a crowd.
<v Speaker 2>He could do it backstage. Do something because Alistair Black
<v Speaker 2>is getting lost in the sauce very quickly. He's becoming
<v Speaker 2>a nameless guy, a faceless guy that's on the roster again,
<v Speaker 2>that you're just giving a paycheck to, that you don't
<v Speaker 2>hear from, you don't have any emotional attachment to. And
<v Speaker 2>it's like, why did you even bring him back? Roostev's
<v Speaker 2>not quite in that level, but he's not much better.

<v Speaker 2>is just great. Was supposed to be his celebration, but
<v Speaker 2>Goldberg came out and told him that he's next Goldberg.

<v Speaker 2>it's funny when Goldberg was as hot as he was
<v Speaker 2>in nineteen ninety nine, which is as hot as restl
<v Speaker 2>like ever was as nineteen ninety nine. I mean there
<v Speaker 2>I don't know a year that's hotter or bigger revenue wise,
<v Speaker 2>ratings wise, I mean the ratings were like ten times
<v Speaker 2>what they are now, and that's including all social media

<v Speaker 2>you're probably of the younger generation and you're like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I wasn't even alive. I went back and watched clips
<v Speaker 2>and we all can collectively say we are jealous of you,
<v Speaker 2>because boy, is the youth wasted on the young are
<v Speaker 2>the what is it? Did I say that?

<v Speaker 2>legacy of Goldberg dies. He did say that he's gonna
<v Speaker 2>beat the man that used to be Goldberg. That it's
<v Speaker 2>just great. I mean he killed Goldberg here. I mean
<v Speaker 2>Gunther continues every time he gets heated on the mic
<v Speaker 2>to excel. Gunther is what a champion should be. You look,
<v Speaker 2>many of you are still not happy that jay Uso
<v Speaker 2>wwe in their mind corrected course by giving the belt
<v Speaker 2>to Gunther, And sure they saw this on the horizon
<v Speaker 2>with Goldberg, but you could add a Gunther Goldberg match
<v Speaker 2>without the belt, and they clearly corrected course. But Gunther
<v Speaker 2>feels and looks much more like a champion than Jay did.
<v Speaker 2>Not to say Jay's not over do merch numbers aren't good,
<v Speaker 2>that he's not great in the ring, that there's a
<v Speaker 2>world of respect that fans and people backstage have for him,
<v Speaker 2>but he just doesn't have at this moment that it
<v Speaker 2>that you're looking for as world champion. He just doesn't.
<v Speaker 2>Gunther does. And it's it's light year's difference, all right.
<v Speaker 2>So backstage we had Carrying Cross essentially to tell Sammy
<v Speaker 2>Zain that he's never gonna be world champion after saying
<v Speaker 2>that Orton took him out like Cross said that he would,
<v Speaker 2>and Zane punched Cross pretty good and he fell to
<v Speaker 2>the floor, and Zane told Cross that he spoke with
<v Speaker 2>Adam Pearson. Their match is official and said TikTok before
<v Speaker 2>walking away, and then Cross laughed and Scarlet said, got him.
<v Speaker 2>Uh what Now, I have no issue with Carrying Cross
<v Speaker 2>trying to bait Sammy into something. What I don't like
<v Speaker 2>is he stopped selling the punch. The punch was real.
<v Speaker 2>Even if you're trying to deceive the baby face and
<v Speaker 2>into doing something, that doesn't mean that the punch isn't real.
<v Speaker 2>The punch should be real. You should still sell it.
<v Speaker 2>And he immediately stopped selling it. That kind of took
<v Speaker 2>away from the moment there you can still say gotcha,
<v Speaker 2>but still continue to sell the punch. So that was
<v Speaker 2>a little weird that all of a sudden he's like yeah,
<v Speaker 2>He's like, yeah, that didn't hurt. No, Well that kind
<v Speaker 2>of like, doesn't that damage Sammy a little bit? And
<v Speaker 2>kind of the whole product generally. I know I'm blowing
<v Speaker 2>this out of proportion, as I normally do with things
<v Speaker 2>like this, but it's emblematic of a larger issue of
<v Speaker 2>realism with WWE and professional wrestling that I won't get into.
<v Speaker 2>But the good thing is with carrying Cross, he's getting
<v Speaker 2>a little bit of air time here and it is
<v Speaker 2>with Sammy's ain, and there is this story now going
<v Speaker 2>on with Sammy that he's never gonna be world champion.
<v Speaker 2>Randy on SmackDown told Sammy's Ain he's going to be,
<v Speaker 2>And now Carrying Cross is saying he's not going to be.
<v Speaker 2>It does lead you to believe now that they're continued
<v Speaker 2>with this, that Sammy's Ain is in the next I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, maybe in the next six to twelve months,
<v Speaker 2>he is going to be world champion, because they're planting
<v Speaker 2>it in our minds now, they're planting it in our
<v Speaker 2>minds that you know, Sammy will could he I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>They probably won't, but they're talking about it. So maybe
<v Speaker 2>they're doing more with Sammy's Ain by just talking about
<v Speaker 2>him not being world Champion than just having him come
<v Speaker 2>out and do his normal thing with whatever he's doing.
<v Speaker 2>Because now the idea of putting Sammy Zain in a
<v Speaker 2>title match and having him win is a story to behold.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it's a little bit of finishing the story
<v Speaker 2>type of thing. I mean, Sammy's Ain is the one
<v Speaker 2>that's never been able to capture the top belt. Do
<v Speaker 2>I think he'll have a run? Yes, there's a lot
<v Speaker 2>of talk to of turning Sammy's Ain heel. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I've been down that road too. There's been times where
<v Speaker 2>I thought they were going up, particularly the night after
<v Speaker 2>WrestleMania off for WrestleMania I should say, and they didn't
<v Speaker 2>do it, but perhaps they are, maybe they're thinking about it,
<v Speaker 2>but they're doing something here. There's something brewing with Sammy's
<v Speaker 2>ain Andy hopefully carry across too. Who Ever, since he
<v Speaker 2>cut that promo before, WrestleMania hasn't done as much as
<v Speaker 2>we hoped. And it's because, as I've said in the
<v Speaker 2>last several weeks, if WWE fans want to see a
<v Speaker 2>change and you want to make a message loud and
<v Speaker 2>clear to WWE, what you need to do is be
<v Speaker 2>consistent with your chance, consistent with your noise level towards
<v Speaker 2>whatever you're trying to change, Consistent on social media with
<v Speaker 2>hashtags and trends. Consistent. That's the key. And I don't
<v Speaker 2>think they saw enough from fans to think it wasn't
<v Speaker 2>just a fad to see what WWE would do. So
<v Speaker 2>so Becky Lynch versus Bailey for the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
<v Speaker 2>This match went fourteen minutes early with Becky Lynch beating
<v Speaker 2>Bailey by d Q. So the fin I mean, by
<v Speaker 2>the way this before the finish, this match was was fun.
<v Speaker 2>Bailey and Becky felt like old times seeing these two
<v Speaker 2>one of the two of the four og horsewomen. Just
<v Speaker 2>it's you gotta appreciate this kind of a thing that
<v Speaker 2>we're still here doing this ten years later. So the
<v Speaker 2>finish was Lyra Valkyria showing up, tried and trying to
<v Speaker 2>help Bailey. And this is because we had Becky Lynch
<v Speaker 2>try to bury Bailey in you know, two and a
<v Speaker 2>half pound chairs. If you're gonna try to bury somebody,
<v Speaker 2>use the ring steps maybe, why would you use chairs?
<v Speaker 2>You might as well use t shirts. I mean, what
<v Speaker 2>are you doing that? That was the most just laughable.
<v Speaker 2>You're trying to bury Bailey with a couple of steel
<v Speaker 2>chairs as if these are like fifty pound weights. I'm sorry,
<v Speaker 2>that was just I understand the visual, but even I
<v Speaker 2>couldn't buy into that. However, Lyra rather Lynched punched Valkyria
<v Speaker 2>and then returned to the ring and begged Valkyria to
<v Speaker 2>hit her so she get to DQ. Bailey returned to
<v Speaker 2>the ring apron but was sent back to the floor.
<v Speaker 2>Bailey then tossed Lynch over the broadcast table and picked
<v Speaker 2>her up and ran her into the ring post and
<v Speaker 2>the ringside barricade. Bailey rolled Lynch back in the ring
<v Speaker 2>and went up top for an elbow drop, but Valkyria
<v Speaker 2>entered the ring at this point she had enough and
<v Speaker 2>threw punches that lynched and the match and we got
<v Speaker 2>a DQ. So this rivalry is not over. It's likely
<v Speaker 2>going to spill into Knight of Champions with these three
<v Speaker 2>women in a triple threat for the Women's Inner Continental Championship.
<v Speaker 2>There was some attension here too between Bailey and Lyra
<v Speaker 2>because Lyra did cost her the match here potentially by
<v Speaker 2>you know, being the reason for the DQ. So this
<v Speaker 2>is headed towards triple threat. I mean, so it just is,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm fine with that. I don't need twists and
<v Speaker 2>turns here to swerve us, just to swerve us. It's fine,
<v Speaker 2>straightforward triple threat. These three women will kill it. So
<v Speaker 2>let's continue here. We have Raquel stand in the ring
<v Speaker 2>and tell Raquel Rodriguez and telling Ripley that she wouldn't
<v Speaker 2>let her screw her out of the Queen of the
<v Speaker 2>Ring tournament, and Rodriguez called out Ripley. Ripley comes out
<v Speaker 2>and got the better of Rodriguez, and we had Rodriguez
<v Speaker 2>pull out the dreaded Slim Jim Table. Not just any
<v Speaker 2>old table, guys, the Slim Jim sponsored table, so it's
<v Speaker 2>even more devastating. Ripley then jumped from the broadcast table,
<v Speaker 2>hit Rodrie Vegas and we had her set her set
<v Speaker 2>up Rodriguez for a rip tide through the table. But
<v Speaker 2>Rock san Perez comes out and Ripley got Rock san
<v Speaker 2>Perez in the electric chair position, dumped her face first
<v Speaker 2>onto the turnbuckle. But Rodriguez, Raquel, that is, use it
<v Speaker 2>to hot a bomb to put Ripley through the table.
<v Speaker 2>And so Roquel Rodriguez stands tall. How often do you
<v Speaker 2>see that? I mean, Raquel is just normally a background character,

<v Speaker 2>I mean, and Jay and Cody shook hands. There was
<v Speaker 2>no heel turn here and no one really expected it.
<v Speaker 2>But this was a really good main event. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>there's nothing else to say about it. As you'll see
<v Speaker 2>through a lot of different podcasts and reviews, these two
<v Speaker 2>have a hell of a chemistry. Seasoned veterans just great, great,
<v Speaker 2>this is awesome, chance happened, lots of fun near falls.
<v Speaker 2>I will say Cody Rhoads should consider changing his finish
<v Speaker 2>to the Cutter, the Cody Cutter, that's a much more
<v Speaker 2>believable and better looking finish than his Crossroads. He won't
<v Speaker 2>do it because for some reason he believes the Crossroads
<v Speaker 2>looks good and his finish. But the Cody Cutter, while
<v Speaker 2>it has almost never almost never finished a match, it
<v Speaker 2>looks ten times better. And why he didn't go for
<v Speaker 2>the cover after the super Cody Cutter off the top
<v Speaker 2>rope befuddles me. He had time, he wasn't injured laying
<v Speaker 2>there pretending he was selling something that he could just
<v Speaker 2>roll over and cover. J After the Supercutter, he was
<v Speaker 2>up like yelling and screaming, what are you doing? Man? Cover?
<v Speaker 2>You go for a I mean that's like a power
<v Speaker 2>pack super move and you don't go for the cover.
<v Speaker 2>There it's your signature move that got a little extra juice,
<v Speaker 2>and you don't go for the cover. So my vote
<v Speaker 2>is Cody should absolutely consider revamping his finish. It's also
<v Speaker 2>a finish that is safer for everyone because it's just
<v Speaker 2>a face bump. You don't have to twist and turn
<v Speaker 2>in an unnatural, uncomfortable way, and it's something you can
<v Speaker 2>do to everyone, and it's a lot quicker hitting. It's
<v Speaker 2>not a stunner, it's not an RKO, it's not a
<v Speaker 2>Diamond cutter. It is a Cody Cutter. He puts his
<v Speaker 2>own little kind of spin on it. It's off the
<v Speaker 2>second rope, or in this case, he did it to
<v Speaker 2>Jay off the top rope. Again, it's quick, you can
<v Speaker 2>do it to anyone. It's a much better finish and
<v Speaker 2>it's gonna be fun to see what he does to Randy,
<v Speaker 2>who obviously has the RKO that looks extremely similar. So
<v Speaker 2>that's my vote that no one asked for. It's an
<v Speaker 2>answer that you didn't ask a question too of what
<v Speaker 2>do you think Cody should do about his finish? Should
<v Speaker 2>he change it to the to the Cody Cutter or
<v Speaker 2>keep the crossroads? Well, I gave it the answer before
<v Speaker 2>you ask the questions. So that's my net raw, very
<v Speaker 2>solid show, a couple of holes, as you heard throughout
<v Speaker 2>of this show, but we keep it real here. Whenever
<v Speaker 2>things you know aren't good or could easily be fixed,
<v Speaker 2>you know that We will be on top of it
