<v Speaker 1>I am interviewing Roven from Tennessee and he has had
<v Speaker 1>two bigfoot encounters that took place in his life. For
<v Speaker 1>many years, Rovean had bottled up his encounters deep inside
<v Speaker 1>to avoid any ridicule from the people around him. Roan
<v Speaker 1>soon found out that even briefly discussing the topic would
<v Speaker 1>cause conflict with other people. It doesn't matter the type
<v Speaker 1>of person you are, or your background, or even the
<v Speaker 1>evidence you are providing regarding the subject. If you talk
<v Speaker 1>openly about this topic, you will be ridiculed at some
<v Speaker 1>point in time. This is a good story with a
<v Speaker 1>lot of detail, and I really enjoyed listening to it,

<v Speaker 1>from the state of Tennessee. Hey, Rovan, welcome to Sasquatch Theory,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm glad to have you on the show.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you very much, truly my pleasure.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, absolutely, if you could tell me a little bit
<v Speaker 1>about yourself and the experiences that you've had out in Tennessee.
<v Speaker 2>Sure, man. Well, I'm fifty three years old, recently went
<v Speaker 2>through a divorce. My ex wife didn't like me talking
<v Speaker 2>about all this stuff, so now I kind of have
<v Speaker 2>a little bit of additional freedom to kind of get
<v Speaker 2>some things I've seen off my chest. I've been a
<v Speaker 2>successful business owner, owned a local pest control company for
<v Speaker 2>several years in sales right now, was in the ministry
<v Speaker 2>for for about fifteen twenty years, pastor to church for
<v Speaker 2>about ten of those years, and so so anyhow, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>just a homegrown Tennessee guy. Lived here most of my life,
<v Speaker 2>moved down to Huntsville, Alabama, which is just about eighty
<v Speaker 2>miles south for about fifteen twenty years, and then moved
<v Speaker 2>back right here to where I'm from, which is the
<v Speaker 2>Murphysboro area. It's the exact geographic center of the state
<v Speaker 2>of Tennessee. So if you took a pen and stuck
<v Speaker 2>it in the middle of Tennessee like a push pin,
<v Speaker 2>you'd be putting it in Murphysborough. So anyhow, Yeah, that's uh.
<v Speaker 2>That's that's uh. I guess kind of catches up to
<v Speaker 2>where I am and who I am right now.
<v Speaker 1>So I appreciate you sharing that with us, and if
<v Speaker 1>you would just dive straight into your encounters.
<v Speaker 2>Sure, absolutely well it goes back. I remember when when
<v Speaker 2>I was a very young child. Uh, my grandfather and
<v Speaker 2>I made a made a huge connection. He did not
<v Speaker 2>have a great relationship with with my dad, his father,
<v Speaker 2>but I think in ways he tried to make up
<v Speaker 2>for that with me, and so I started staying with
<v Speaker 2>him when I was a little little boy, and by
<v Speaker 2>the time I got into school, I would spend every
<v Speaker 2>summer break, every Christmas break, every spring break, fall break,
<v Speaker 2>third and every third weekend was when we moved closer
<v Speaker 2>at his house. I loved him. I loved my grandfather's house.
<v Speaker 2>He had one hundred acres and there was thousands of
<v Speaker 2>acres of land that surrounded it. It was really close
<v Speaker 2>to the east fork of the Stones River right here
<v Speaker 2>in Murphysboro. A little place called Last Cassis, which is
<v Speaker 2>right outside of Murphysboro, and which by the way, is
<v Speaker 2>about most people know Nashville. We're about about thirty miles
<v Speaker 2>east thirty five miles east of Nashville's where this is
<v Speaker 2>and where this happened. And so when I was a
<v Speaker 2>little kid, I remember sitting out there and we would
<v Speaker 2>be in my grandfather's yard. It would be late in
<v Speaker 2>the evening. I was probably second third grade, and we
<v Speaker 2>would hear these knocks. It sounded like it sounded like
<v Speaker 2>to me somebody was just hitting a tree with a
<v Speaker 2>baseball bat. We would hear that and I'd ask my
<v Speaker 2>grandfather what it was, and every time he'd say the
<v Speaker 2>same thing. He said, they must be building a barn
<v Speaker 2>back over there. My friend that lived down the street
<v Speaker 2>and he and I were in the woods all the time.
<v Speaker 2>He would look at me and he said, there's no
<v Speaker 2>electricity back over in there, so it can't be anybody
<v Speaker 2>building the bar. And it was getting dark in the evening,
<v Speaker 2>and we would always we would hear these and it
<v Speaker 2>sounded like that the knocks were coming from kind of
<v Speaker 2>various locations too. So I asked my grandfather about that,
<v Speaker 2>and he said, well, that's just an echo. So fast
<v Speaker 2>forward in time several years. I was probably twelve or
<v Speaker 2>thirteen years old as best I remember, and I had
<v Speaker 2>gotten into deer hunting. Also, I loved fishing. Fishing is
<v Speaker 2>my passion, and I would I would go back to
<v Speaker 2>my grandfather. He had a thirty nine acres of what
<v Speaker 2>he had was on was on the actually the place
<v Speaker 2>he lived, and then he had sixty one acres of
<v Speaker 2>his hundred acres. It was kind of scattered, it was.
<v Speaker 2>It was about three quarters of a mile down the
<v Speaker 2>end of the road. So I would always hunt on
<v Speaker 2>his property that he lived on, just because it was
<v Speaker 2>so convenient, and the other place really creeped me out.
<v Speaker 2>And so when I got about twelve, I really got
<v Speaker 2>into deer hunting. And at that time my grandfather, though
<v Speaker 2>he had had a pond dug for me on the
<v Speaker 2>back of his property. We called it his sage grass field.
<v Speaker 2>And you would take a we would go it's probably
<v Speaker 2>about a three hundred yard you'd go back through a
<v Speaker 2>couple of fields, and then it kind of closed in.
<v Speaker 2>You went past a log barn, and then I would
<v Speaker 2>go down through a logging trail that was about a
<v Speaker 2>couple hundred yards to the field itself. And this field
<v Speaker 2>was roughly three hundred yards long and about eighty yards wide,
<v Speaker 2>and I would enter in through the far right hand
<v Speaker 2>side of this field, like like I was doing this
<v Speaker 2>particular day. This particular day I was I called it
<v Speaker 2>scouting for deer. But really what I would do is
<v Speaker 2>we'd had a pond dug in toward the middle of
<v Speaker 2>that field, a little bit toward the far end of
<v Speaker 2>the field, but we'd had this pond dug, and I
<v Speaker 2>would go back there and just check it out. I
<v Speaker 2>would get up on that pond because the pond was elevated.
<v Speaker 2>The field was sage grass in that sage dress was
<v Speaker 2>probably two and a half maybe three feet high. It'd
<v Speaker 2>be blowing in the wind. But when I got up
<v Speaker 2>on the rim of that pond, I could walk around
<v Speaker 2>and I could see the far end of the field.
<v Speaker 2>I could see everything so good. And i'd look down
<v Speaker 2>in the pond and I would always see, first of all,
<v Speaker 2>if there was any water, because my grandfather had one
<v Speaker 2>hundred acres and none of it would hold a drop
<v Speaker 2>of water. But then I would check for tracks, because
<v Speaker 2>it was muddy down in there. I'd see if there
<v Speaker 2>were any deer tracks or anything down in there. This
<v Speaker 2>particular day, I remember going back there. It was it
<v Speaker 2>wasn't quiet, it was just very surreal. There wasn't much
<v Speaker 2>going on, but there was a steady wind blowing, and
<v Speaker 2>I got up on this pond, which is toward the
<v Speaker 2>far end of the field. When we had the pond dug,
<v Speaker 2>my grandfather also had them clear out the far end
<v Speaker 2>of the field. And the far end of the field
<v Speaker 2>had about eight big trees. It was about eighty yards across,
<v Speaker 2>had eight big trees in it, and one of the
<v Speaker 2>trees was a maple, and that's where my deer stand was.
<v Speaker 2>I know, my deer stand was about eight feet high.
<v Speaker 2>That wasn't very high, but I didn't like heights. And
<v Speaker 2>I would get up on that pond and I would
<v Speaker 2>always walk around to the end that was closest to
<v Speaker 2>my deer stand and just kind of check things out
<v Speaker 2>and see if I saw any movement, see what I saw.
<v Speaker 2>So I'm standing there, I get up on the pond,
<v Speaker 2>just like every single other time. I walk around, trying
<v Speaker 2>to get that good view because the pond was probably
<v Speaker 2>four feet higher than the rest of the land there,
<v Speaker 2>trying to get a good view. And as I walk around,
<v Speaker 2>I look at the far end down always down where
<v Speaker 2>my deer stand was, and there was just dirt down there,
<v Speaker 2>and there was grass. It was maybe three inches high,
<v Speaker 2>just green grass, but it wasn't tall like the sage grass.
<v Speaker 2>And I noticed coming out of the right hand side
<v Speaker 2>of that field. It was the weirdest thing. It was
<v Speaker 2>almost like when I first looked at that, it was
<v Speaker 2>almost like I was having trouble focusing, or almost like
<v Speaker 2>maybe there was it was like it was shimmering or
<v Speaker 2>a frame was shaking. It was just the weirdest thing
<v Speaker 2>at first. And then I see what I thought was
<v Speaker 2>a man walking out of there, and and it's he's
<v Speaker 2>coming out a super thick brush, and I thought, man,
<v Speaker 2>this is you know, I'm gonna have to run somebody
<v Speaker 2>off my grandfather's property. And I'm just a little kid,
<v Speaker 2>and I just got this twenty gag single shot shotgun
<v Speaker 2>with well loaded in it. That's not, you know, gonna
<v Speaker 2>scare most people, I don't guess. But I look in
<v Speaker 2>this guy begins to slowly walk out. It's like he
<v Speaker 2>wants me to see him. And my first thought was, man,
<v Speaker 2>that's a big dude. That is a big dude. I
<v Speaker 2>had a janitor at school at the time, and my
<v Speaker 2>janitor was seven to three. He was the tallest man
<v Speaker 2>I'd ever seen, but he was kind of bent over
<v Speaker 2>with scoliosis. He was in bad shape. And I thought,
<v Speaker 2>this guy's as tall as my janitor, and he's solid.
<v Speaker 2>He was thick. And the second thing I thought, why
<v Speaker 2>in the world it wasn't that outside. Why is he
<v Speaker 2>wearing long brown coveralls, a brown toboggan that covers everything.
<v Speaker 2>It just looked like there was an opening in the
<v Speaker 2>center of his face where in brown gloves and brown boots.
<v Speaker 2>Why is he dressed like that? And he's still in
<v Speaker 2>the shade now, but this is probably about three o'clock
<v Speaker 2>in the afternoon, and he steps. He begins to walk
<v Speaker 2>across the field the far end, following the tree line,
<v Speaker 2>right where there's there's nothing but about eight big trees
<v Speaker 2>left there, when of them has my deer stand in it.
<v Speaker 2>And I'm standing on the side of that pond and
<v Speaker 2>I'm just kind of frozen just watching this guy. And
<v Speaker 2>as soon as he takes two or three steps, he
<v Speaker 2>gets out out from under the shade, and I can
<v Speaker 2>see the sun hitting him, and I'm thinking, I look,
<v Speaker 2>and I thought, that's that's not a that's not coveralls,
<v Speaker 2>that's hair. And but the first thing I noticed was
<v Speaker 2>he's walking funny he's he's his back arch is funny,
<v Speaker 2>he leans forward too much, his arms are longer than
<v Speaker 2>they're supposed to be, and and his legs. It was
<v Speaker 2>almost like this thing was scooting or skating instead of
<v Speaker 2>he didn't lock his legs at the end of his steps.
<v Speaker 1>It was.
<v Speaker 2>Really strange. So it took about three or four steps,
<v Speaker 2>and then I'm probably sixty five to seventy five yards
<v Speaker 2>away at this point, standing on the edge of that pond,
<v Speaker 2>and it tilts its shoulders and looks straight at me.
<v Speaker 2>And when it looked at me, I knew, you know,
<v Speaker 2>I'd even then I'd seen the Patterson Gimblin film, and
<v Speaker 2>I knew what I was looking at. And I was frozen.
<v Speaker 2>I don't even know if I breathed, But the moment
<v Speaker 2>that it looked at me, I just felt an overwhelming
<v Speaker 2>sense come over me that said, don't mess with me,
<v Speaker 2>and I won't mess with you. Mess with me, and
<v Speaker 2>you'll regret it. And I remember that was just the
<v Speaker 2>weirdest thing, because I don't know if it was and
<v Speaker 2>I'm not saying it was mind speaker or anything. It
<v Speaker 2>could have just been you know, my common sense saying
<v Speaker 2>don't mess with this thing. It's too big. But it
<v Speaker 2>looked at me and it continued to walk straight, but
<v Speaker 2>it was kind of it was looking at me, but
<v Speaker 2>walking the same direction. It was going really slow, really methodical,
<v Speaker 2>really like I just got the vibe that I'm the
<v Speaker 2>king of the forest, you know that don't mess with me.
<v Speaker 2>And but but you know, I didn't think it was
<v Speaker 2>gonna hurt me if I didn't do that. And so
<v Speaker 2>as I watch it, I watched it walk all the
<v Speaker 2>way across. I could see as the sun hit it,
<v Speaker 2>you could see the listen, you could see the hair
<v Speaker 2>on it. And I'm I'm scattering. My shotgun is straight
<v Speaker 2>across my chest at like a forty five degree and
<v Speaker 2>I don't even think I'm breathing. I could hear my
<v Speaker 2>heart just pounding in my you know, like my neck
<v Speaker 2>that vein there. You just and I watch it and
<v Speaker 2>I start to think, what am I going to do
<v Speaker 2>when it goes out of sight? Because I had a
<v Speaker 2>couple of choices. One choice was I, you know, I
<v Speaker 2>could go back the direction it just walked across, and
<v Speaker 2>hope it went on the other way where I could
<v Speaker 2>run back. If I went back the way that I
<v Speaker 2>came from through that logging trail, and it followed the
<v Speaker 2>natural course, which was another logging trail. It was gonna
<v Speaker 2>intersect me, but I remember that. Of course, I didn't
<v Speaker 2>know anything about Bigfoot at this time. I'd never YouTube
<v Speaker 2>wasn't around, and so I remember thinking, hey, it's not
<v Speaker 2>walking fast. I can go fast, And so as soon
<v Speaker 2>as it went out of sight, I took off running
<v Speaker 2>as fast as I could. And I remember when I
<v Speaker 2>was coming where that logging trail, if it would have
<v Speaker 2>followed it out, if it would have followed the fence row,
<v Speaker 2>it would have come out, and it had have been
<v Speaker 2>standing right there waiting on me. And I remember thinking
<v Speaker 2>the whole time I'm running, it's going to be waiting
<v Speaker 2>on me. But I never saw it again. I ran
<v Speaker 2>back to my grandparents' house, just bust in the door
<v Speaker 2>and told him I just saw bigfoot. And my grandfather
<v Speaker 2>looked at me and he said, I believe you. And
<v Speaker 2>I said, well, thank you, because I didn't know if
<v Speaker 2>anybody would. And my grandmother said, you just saw slip.
<v Speaker 2>So I don't know what she meant. I know that's
<v Speaker 2>a term that a lot of people used, but she said, all, junior,
<v Speaker 2>you just saw a slew foot and so anyhow that
<v Speaker 2>was that was my first encounter, probably at about twelve
<v Speaker 2>or thirteen years of age in the early eighties. That
<v Speaker 2>same it was either that same fall or the following fall.
<v Speaker 2>I would go back to that field. I still deer
<v Speaker 2>hunted there, but I would not go in the dark.
<v Speaker 2>Even though I saw this in the daylight. I did
<v Speaker 2>sure didn't want to run into when I'm in the dark,
<v Speaker 2>and so I would. I went back to that same
<v Speaker 2>field and I had my Marlin thirty thirty and it
<v Speaker 2>was fully fully loaded, had won in the chamber, and
<v Speaker 2>I'm walking down the logging trail that couple hundred yards
<v Speaker 2>to three hundred yards to that field, and at that
<v Speaker 2>point I hear something. I hear two men talking. That's
<v Speaker 2>what I thought. It was like two men talking, and
<v Speaker 2>I thought, I don't know it. They're on my grandfather's property.
<v Speaker 2>I'm going to have to run them off. And as
<v Speaker 2>they get closer to the field, I noticed these guys
<v Speaker 2>are really really loud and really boisterous. It's just like
<v Speaker 2>their lungs or it's just like huge, Like these are
<v Speaker 2>big guys. And I'm thinking, why can't I understand them?
<v Speaker 2>Is there something is at the echo? Is there something
<v Speaker 2>wrong with my hearing? As I stood there, I walked
<v Speaker 2>out in the field and these guys that were talking,
<v Speaker 2>they seemed like they were about fifty feet apart. They
<v Speaker 2>were pretty close, and it seemed like they were just
<v Speaker 2>right over across into some thick shrubbery, but just barely
<v Speaker 2>far enough back there that I couldn't see them. And
<v Speaker 2>they're talking real loud. It's like they don't care that
<v Speaker 2>I'm there. They're just back and forth making this I
<v Speaker 2>don't know. I thought at that point, I thought these
<v Speaker 2>are Chinese guys or something, because they're talking in some
<v Speaker 2>sort of a gibberish or language that I don't understand.
<v Speaker 2>I thought at first it was I just couldn't hear right,
<v Speaker 2>And then towards then, I'm like, I can't understand these guys.
<v Speaker 2>They're talking in another language, but it was not something
<v Speaker 2>that I ever heard or recognized, And so I decided
<v Speaker 2>to go on to the far end of the field
<v Speaker 2>and I walked down there. Once I walked down there,
<v Speaker 2>right from where these two guys were, three dough deer
<v Speaker 2>came up. They just bounced up out of the field
<v Speaker 2>right from where these guys had been talking right from
<v Speaker 2>that area, and I turned around. I just started shooting
<v Speaker 2>at the dose and at that point I never heard
<v Speaker 2>that again. But since that time, I've heard a couple
<v Speaker 2>of the Sierra Sounds where they recorded Sasquatch communication, and
<v Speaker 2>I've heard a guy named MK Davis do something called
<v Speaker 2>Bigfoot in a Shed, and that one was the closest
<v Speaker 2>to what I heard. Was the Bigfoot in a Shed
<v Speaker 2>by MK Davis had bits and pieces that sounded very,
<v Speaker 2>very similar to what I heard that day. Of course,
<v Speaker 2>at this point there wasn't Internet, there wasn't anything, and
<v Speaker 2>I had no idea. I never put two into together.
<v Speaker 2>That was my second encounter, but that wasn't a visual.
<v Speaker 2>My third encounter was really really wild. It happened when
<v Speaker 2>I was about sixteen years old, and it was about
<v Speaker 2>three miles from there. There's a river called the Stones
<v Speaker 2>River and it's in the little community of Last Cassis
<v Speaker 2>and I had sold a friend my boat, my fishing boat.
<v Speaker 2>It was just a fourteen foot v bottom boat. I
<v Speaker 2>think it had a ten horsepower on it, and he said,
<v Speaker 2>where do you want to go fishing? And I said, well,
<v Speaker 2>let's take it over there to guy James Bridge and
<v Speaker 2>go downstream and we'll get into some good small mouth
<v Speaker 2>pass and so he said, let's do it, and he said,
<v Speaker 2>let's make let's make a weekend of it. We'll go
<v Speaker 2>on Friday, we'll spend the night down there somewhere, and
<v Speaker 2>we'll fish back our way back up on Saturday. And
<v Speaker 2>this sounds great to me because fishing was truly my
<v Speaker 2>first passion. And so we put in there Friday, I
<v Speaker 2>think two or three o'clock something like that, floated down
<v Speaker 2>to a gravel bar, if anybody were to know, is
<v Speaker 2>probably about halfway between the bridge and the old dam,
<v Speaker 2>which has now collapsed, and it's a gravel bar that
<v Speaker 2>I had. Actually we did some limb lighting and trot
<v Speaker 2>lighting with my friend's dad, and we had spent the
<v Speaker 2>night on that gravel bar before, and so I knew
<v Speaker 2>it was a good place. Cows tend to come down
<v Speaker 2>there in the morning, but it was a good place
<v Speaker 2>and so and it had you could catch fish off
<v Speaker 2>of it, and so we were there, we'd got settled in,
<v Speaker 2>had a nice fire going. It was about nine thirty
<v Speaker 2>at night. My friend's name was Benny, and Bennie was
<v Speaker 2>a twenty nine year old guy, rugged, rugged, rugged outdoorsman.
<v Speaker 2>He's the kind of guy that would just go into
<v Speaker 2>the outdoors and come back two or three days later.
<v Speaker 2>He you know, he was just like that. He was fearless,
<v Speaker 2>he was afraid of nothing and anyhow. But he's a
<v Speaker 2>good guy. And so we get settled in on that
<v Speaker 2>gravel bar, and I can't remember if we still had
<v Speaker 2>a fishing right out, fishing for catfish or not, but
<v Speaker 2>we're sitting there on the gravel bar. It's about nine
<v Speaker 2>thirty ish and Benny looks over at me, and I
<v Speaker 2>remember he said these words, he said, it sure is
<v Speaker 2>quiet out tonight. And as soon as Benny said it
<v Speaker 2>sure is quiet out tonight, I mean the moment he
<v Speaker 2>said it, within five seconds of him saying it, it
<v Speaker 2>literally sounded like a bomb hit the water right upstream,
<v Speaker 2>just right outside of our line of view where we
<v Speaker 2>because the the fire was maybe letting us see twenty
<v Speaker 2>feet or so twenty five feet, and the gravel bar
<v Speaker 2>was probably it's probably about forty feet up there, and
<v Speaker 2>then about twenty more feet out in the water, we
<v Speaker 2>hear this massive splat. Sure, and neither one of us,
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it wasn't like that was a big splash.
<v Speaker 2>It was like we both immediately we were setting down
<v Speaker 2>on our butts on the sandbar, and we both immediately
<v Speaker 2>sprang to our feet and we're just shaking. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>we're just instantly just shaking and trembling, like, what in
<v Speaker 2>the world was that? And Ben, he looks at it,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, and he grabbed his flashlight. Now, his
<v Speaker 2>flashlight was probably one of the worst flashlights on the
<v Speaker 2>history in the history of planet Earth. It was one
<v Speaker 2>of those old plastic ones that just had two D
<v Speaker 2>batteries in it and they probably hadn't been changed out
<v Speaker 2>in years. And so we go down toward that end
<v Speaker 2>of the gravel bar, though, and you can see where
<v Speaker 2>the water has splashed up on the gravel bar, which
<v Speaker 2>was dry, it's splashed and it's got all over the
<v Speaker 2>gravel bar. Something is whatever it was, just made this
<v Speaker 2>massive splash. And we get to the upstream end of
<v Speaker 2>this gravel bar and then he has the flashlight. He's
<v Speaker 2>in front of me. I'm kind of hiding behind him,
<v Speaker 2>and he leans out. He's leaning out seeing what's out
<v Speaker 2>in the water. And at first all we can see
<v Speaker 2>and it's it's close to it's like twenty twenty five
<v Speaker 2>feet out there, but his flashlight was so bad you
<v Speaker 2>couldn't make out the details at first. To our eyes
<v Speaker 2>began to adjust. All you can see is these two
<v Speaker 2>massive red eyes. And when I say big, no exaggeration
<v Speaker 2>at all. They were the size of bicycle tire reflectors
<v Speaker 2>or silver dollars. I mean, these eyes were so big
<v Speaker 2>and so red, and but I didn't think through. I
<v Speaker 2>didn't know what it was. And it didn't take any long.
<v Speaker 2>He's looking at it, and I remember at one point
<v Speaker 2>he said, oh my god, it blinked or something like that,
<v Speaker 2>and then then he said it's He started saying it's
<v Speaker 2>a monster. It's a monster, and I said, Benny, it
<v Speaker 2>can't be a monster. It's because I knew cow came
<v Speaker 2>down there to get water, and I said, that's got
<v Speaker 2>to be just a cow that fell in the water.
<v Speaker 2>It's not a monster, he said, and Bennie was cursing,
<v Speaker 2>there's a blank, blank monster. It's a blank, blank monster.
<v Speaker 2>And I said, Bennie, it can't be. And so our
<v Speaker 2>eyes are continuing to adjust. I'm I'm acting like I'm
<v Speaker 2>not afraid, but I'm I'm really just I'm in denial.
<v Speaker 2>Bennie's leaned out there where he can see this thing
<v Speaker 2>better than I can. He's in front of me, he's
<v Speaker 2>got the flash light. He's not in the water, but
<v Speaker 2>he's right at the edge of the water. He's got
<v Speaker 2>the flashlight out there. And I know the water is
<v Speaker 2>about seven feet deep or so there. The river was up,
<v Speaker 2>probably almost a foot higher than normal. And I can
<v Speaker 2>tell from the way my lures dragged the bottom or whatever,
<v Speaker 2>the angle of the fishing line. I can tell, I
<v Speaker 2>always tell, but you know how deep it was, so
<v Speaker 2>I knew that area really well. And we're looking at
<v Speaker 2>this thing and you begin to make out the silhouette
<v Speaker 2>of this just absolutely massive head. I mean, this one,
<v Speaker 2>the first one that I saw. It looked very much
<v Speaker 2>like a human. I never thought ape. But it was
<v Speaker 2>not a person in a suit. I mean, no way.
<v Speaker 2>It just didn't walk like one. It was too big.
<v Speaker 2>Its gate was different. But this one, the head was
<v Speaker 2>so big, and it was very cone shaped, very much,
<v Speaker 2>and and I believe that we were probably looking at
<v Speaker 2>it from the maybe the upper lip was where it
<v Speaker 2>was at the water level, but we couldn't see all
<v Speaker 2>the details. We were starting to make out a few
<v Speaker 2>details because of our eyes adjusting to the dark and
<v Speaker 2>that flashlight being so poor and such bad shape. And so,
<v Speaker 2>but we're watching this and as we're watching it, it tilts
<v Speaker 2>its head to maybe to the left first, but it
<v Speaker 2>tilts its head like it's trying to figure us out.
<v Speaker 2>It tilts its head to the other direction like it's
<v Speaker 2>trying to figure us out. And Bennie's just going into
<v Speaker 2>freak out mode. He's like, my god, there is a
<v Speaker 2>monster out there. And I'm thinking it can't be a monster.
<v Speaker 2>It can't because I'm thinking water monster. If he had
<v Speaker 2>said bigfoot, it would have clicked. But I never heard
<v Speaker 2>of a bigfoot getting in the water at that point.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't know they did that. I've since heard of
<v Speaker 2>stories where they were and where they can hold their
<v Speaker 2>breath for long periods of times and so forth, but
<v Speaker 2>i'd never heard of it. And so anyhow, at this point,
<v Speaker 2>we're watching it for like two or three minutes, and
<v Speaker 2>Benny's just freaking out. I mean, he's falling to pieces,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm I'm really, I'm not brave. Bennie's brave. I'm
<v Speaker 2>not brave. I'm in denial. I'm like, it's got to
<v Speaker 2>be a cow or something. And so then it pushes
<v Speaker 2>kind of out toward the toward the middle of the river,
<v Speaker 2>and it takes off downstream in this really fast zigzag pattern.
<v Speaker 2>It's like much faster than the current of the water.
<v Speaker 2>It's like really really going fast in a zigzag pattern.
<v Speaker 2>And it stops and it looked to me. The first
<v Speaker 2>thing I thought was, that's like I would do in
<v Speaker 2>a three and a half foot deep pool. It was
<v Speaker 2>like it was pushing off with its feet, except for
<v Speaker 2>it was seven feet deep out there at least. And
<v Speaker 2>this thing is pushed push and pushing back and forth,
<v Speaker 2>back and forth, back and forth, super fast in the water,
<v Speaker 2>super agile. But its eyes always looked at us. It
<v Speaker 2>never turned its head straight when it was moving forwards.
<v Speaker 2>Its eyes look at us. And then it stopped and
<v Speaker 2>it was literally twenty feet out in front of our fire.
<v Speaker 2>Our fire was right on the water level. This thing
<v Speaker 2>was twenty feet out in front of the fire, and
<v Speaker 2>it's looking straight at us. And we can see it
<v Speaker 2>better now and you can start to make out some
<v Speaker 2>things like the nostrils. You can see that it's just huge.
<v Speaker 2>And it tilted its head. It tilted its head again,
<v Speaker 2>like it's trying to figure us out once in each direction,
<v Speaker 2>and we're you know, I'm I'm I'm about to have
<v Speaker 2>a heart attack. But at the same time, I'm in denial.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, this can't be you know. So it wasn't.
<v Speaker 2>It was almost like a defensive mechanism that your mind
<v Speaker 2>would put up to say, you're not seeing this, you know,
<v Speaker 2>like if you embrace this, you're gonna just you're never
<v Speaker 2>gonna be the same, and so so anyhow, at at
<v Speaker 2>that point, Bennie remembered he had his twelve gage shotgun,
<v Speaker 2>double barrel with buckshot in it, and he said, henmy
<v Speaker 2>my shotgun. So I handed him his shotgun and he
<v Speaker 2>puts his shotgun up to his shoulder. He said, hold
<v Speaker 2>this light. He handed me the light. And the moment
<v Speaker 2>he pulled the shotgun up to his shoulder, now remember
<v Speaker 2>it went in the water when he said it sure
<v Speaker 2>is quiet outside, boom, And then the moment he pulls
<v Speaker 2>the shotgun up to his shoulder, it's looking straight at us.
<v Speaker 2>It just goes underwater with massive bubbles bla blah blah
<v Speaker 2>blah blah. It vanished and we're just standing there. Our
<v Speaker 2>jaws are on the ground. We can't believe where you
<v Speaker 2>know this is even happening, And nobody moves. We don't
<v Speaker 2>say anything for about ten minutes and Bennie looks at
<v Speaker 2>me and he says, it's got to come up for air.
<v Speaker 2>It's got to breathe. And I'm thinking, well, if it's
<v Speaker 2>a monster, why does it have to breathe. I didn't understand.
<v Speaker 2>If he would have ever said bigfoot, I'd probably just
<v Speaker 2>lay down on the gravel bar and started crying. But
<v Speaker 2>he didn't say bigfoot. He just kept calling a monster.
<v Speaker 2>And so after about ten or fifteen minutes, he said,
<v Speaker 2>we're going to take shifts and we're going to step
<v Speaker 2>because this thing could come up out of the water
<v Speaker 2>and kill us. It's kind of breathe. And I said, Minnie,
<v Speaker 2>I'm going to sleep. You do what you want to
<v Speaker 2>then I'm going to sleep. It was you know that
<v Speaker 2>was a cow or something. I'm going to sleep. And
<v Speaker 2>he said, well, I'm not it's that wasn't no cow,
<v Speaker 2>and so I knew it wasn't. I just didn't have
<v Speaker 2>a place. It's like when you see something like this,
<v Speaker 2>your your brain's like a library and you have to
<v Speaker 2>have a file for it, and you're trying to file
<v Speaker 2>it with something you know that makes sense, and nothing
<v Speaker 2>made sense. And so so the next morning when I
<v Speaker 2>woke up, Benie was still sitting there with the shotgun
<v Speaker 2>right over his lap, and he was cooking breakfast for
<v Speaker 2>us over over the fire. He kept the fire going
<v Speaker 2>all night, and one of the last things I remember
<v Speaker 2>ever saying about it, he looked at me and he
<v Speaker 2>said it never came up for air. And after that point,
<v Speaker 2>instead of fishing, we loaded up, we went home. Never
<v Speaker 2>talked about it again, and unfortunately, about a year and
<v Speaker 2>a half later, Bennie and I'm not saying this was
<v Speaker 2>the contributing factor, there were many, I'm sure, but Bennie
<v Speaker 2>did commit suicide and he never was the same after this.
<v Speaker 2>He moved off. I didn't see him but once or
<v Speaker 2>twice more, and he was just never the same after
<v Speaker 2>that day. And so those are my two Middle Tennessee
<v Speaker 2>bigfoot encounters from that one happened in eighty five and
<v Speaker 2>the first one would have happened eighty two or eighty three.
<v Speaker 2>So those are those are my two two encounters there,
<v Speaker 2>as best as I can remember them.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I appreciate you sharing that with me. Have you
<v Speaker 1>had any more experiences since these encounters?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? Yeah, So I kayak a lot down that same river,
<v Speaker 2>and every time I do a lot of small mouth
<v Speaker 2>fishing down through there. And most of the time, if
<v Speaker 2>it's on a weekday and there's you know, nothing going on,
<v Speaker 2>nobody around, you'll run into three or four different places
<v Speaker 2>where you're smelling just an intense smell, like a you know,
<v Speaker 2>like a dead animal. And I get to thinking, well,
<v Speaker 2>there can't be that many dead cows up and down
<v Speaker 2>through here or whatever. But I never really put all
<v Speaker 2>that together as much. I was going down through there
<v Speaker 2>with a friend two years ago, and if anybody's familiar
<v Speaker 2>with the area, I was downstream from the Hall's Hill Bridge,
<v Speaker 2>floating downstream from Hall's Hill to Guy James, and we'd
<v Speaker 2>smell that smell twice. I wasn't smelling it then, and
<v Speaker 2>we started hearing something that sounded like some kind of
<v Speaker 2>a big bird chirp or tweet, but it was some
<v Speaker 2>sort of a sound I'd never heard like. It almost
<v Speaker 2>sounded like something trying to sound like a bird. But
<v Speaker 2>there were two or three of them. One of them
<v Speaker 2>was on one side of the river, the other was
<v Speaker 2>on another side of the river, and it wasn't the
<v Speaker 2>al hoot or anything like that. It was more like something.
<v Speaker 2>It didn't sound like anything I'd ever heard. I've heard turkey,
<v Speaker 2>it didn't sound like I'm man. So so I asked
<v Speaker 2>my friend that was with me, I said, did you
<v Speaker 2>hear that? And he said no, And then about three
<v Speaker 2>minutes later he said, they're over here too, so he
<v Speaker 2>was hearing it by then. And I looked up at
<v Speaker 2>that point and there was a from the river. There
<v Speaker 2>was a field, a cornfield up at the top. But
<v Speaker 2>there were a lot of trees between the river and
<v Speaker 2>the cornfield, and there was an opening that was about
<v Speaker 2>it was about three and a half feet across and
<v Speaker 2>three and a half feet high in the trees where
<v Speaker 2>you could see perfect sun shining through. And something stepped
<v Speaker 2>into that opening and totally blocked the sun. And it
<v Speaker 2>was covered with a long brown hair. I could not
<v Speaker 2>make out a single detail of it other than it
<v Speaker 2>was big enough to cover up a three and a
<v Speaker 2>half a three and a half opening, and it was
<v Speaker 2>long brown hair. Looked nothing like a cow. And by
<v Speaker 2>the way, this opening was probably four or five feet high,
<v Speaker 2>So I don't know what it was. I just know
<v Speaker 2>it was time to get on down the river pretty
<v Speaker 2>quick at that point and quit fishing in that area.
<v Speaker 2>And that's what we did, and we just moved on
<v Speaker 2>and never saw anything else. I don't talk about that
<v Speaker 2>stuff as much because unless I'm sure, you know, I
<v Speaker 2>don't want to. But I've just had several little experiences
<v Speaker 2>like that. But that's probably the most profound there outside
<v Speaker 2>of obviously nothing like my childhood has ever happened again.
<v Speaker 1>So, Ken, you described the area that you were hunting
<v Speaker 1>up when you were twelve years old. Did it have
<v Speaker 1>a lot of fields or was it just that one
<v Speaker 1>behind the pond bank?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it was just that one, and then it was
<v Speaker 2>pretty much it's really up there. It's so rocky, and
<v Speaker 2>so there were a lot of cedar trees, but he
<v Speaker 2>had a lot of hardwoods on the backside where all this,
<v Speaker 2>you know, even where the tooth whatever the things were
<v Speaker 2>that we're talking the back and forth communication that I heard,
<v Speaker 2>and where this thing walked out of, that was the
<v Speaker 2>hardwood side of the field. Uh. And there was a
<v Speaker 2>lot of undergrowth, really thick shrubbery. Like no person we
<v Speaker 2>didn't even unless our our squirrel dogs treed back in
<v Speaker 2>that area. We wouldn't go back in there for the
<v Speaker 2>most part because the undergrowth was so thick, uh and so.
<v Speaker 2>But surrounding it was just literally my friend and I
<v Speaker 2>would get out and wander all day long and you know,
<v Speaker 2>never see another house. There were some fields, mostly woods,
<v Speaker 2>some fields back in through there. They planted some soybean
<v Speaker 2>fields and different things I think back in through there,
<v Speaker 2>but you could go all day and not see a house.
<v Speaker 2>You know, I'd say four or five thousand acres. There
<v Speaker 2>were some cattle on them and stuff, but it's it's
<v Speaker 2>it's you know, very rural and so yeah, that's it's
<v Speaker 2>very not a lot of not a lot of water there.
<v Speaker 2>The river was about two miles or so from my
<v Speaker 2>grandfather's farm, and like he had a little creek that
<v Speaker 2>ran through it. But that was about it.
<v Speaker 1>So can you describe what the sasquatch looked like? And
<v Speaker 1>every detail that you can remember?
<v Speaker 2>Absolutely? So I wasn't close enough to get tons of detail,
<v Speaker 2>Like I said, I was probably seventy five yards away
<v Speaker 2>or so. But what it looked like, my first impression
<v Speaker 2>was it was like a toboggan almost that would just
<v Speaker 2>had the circle cut out and you couldn't see there
<v Speaker 2>wasn't a lot of hair own you know, like the
<v Speaker 2>forehead or you know, the circles around to the side
<v Speaker 2>of the chin or maybe down to the upper lip.
<v Speaker 2>From there down, everything seemed to be hair. So it
<v Speaker 2>was like there was almost like a circle area cut
<v Speaker 2>out in the center. At least that was my perspective.
<v Speaker 2>There may have been more hair that kind of blended in,
<v Speaker 2>but from where I was at, it just looked like
<v Speaker 2>almost there was like a circle around there, and there
<v Speaker 2>wasn't you know, there wasn't hair much hair in that circle.
<v Speaker 2>There may have been some, but from my distance, it
<v Speaker 2>looked like it was more skin in that area. It
<v Speaker 2>was brown too, by the.
<v Speaker 1>Way, Okay, can you describe the shade of brown. Was
<v Speaker 1>it like a lighter brown color.
<v Speaker 2>It was a lighter brown maybe with just a touch
<v Speaker 2>of maybe a touch of auburn or red sort of
<v Speaker 2>to it. But it could have just looked that way
<v Speaker 2>when the sun hit it, you know, when the sun
<v Speaker 2>got on it. I'm sure it looked different than it does,
<v Speaker 2>you know, kind of the reflection of the sun off
<v Speaker 2>of it. But it was it was definitely, it was
<v Speaker 2>definitely brown. It was not black, and uh, you know
<v Speaker 2>that's that's yeah. That's all I can say about that,
<v Speaker 2>is it? At first glance, I told you I thought
<v Speaker 2>it had brown gloves, brown shoe, you know, a guy
<v Speaker 2>with brown gloves, brown shoes, brown coveralls, brown everything. But
<v Speaker 2>when I saw the hair and the hair kind of
<v Speaker 2>glistened in the sun, I was like, it's not a person.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, And you said that it had a forward lean,
<v Speaker 1>long arms and it looked like it was ice skating
<v Speaker 1>or absolute.
<v Speaker 2>I couldn't put my finger on it. But what I've
<v Speaker 2>realized is it did not lock its legs, its rear
<v Speaker 2>leg like when a human takes a step, the rear
<v Speaker 2>leg straightens out so the back of the the backside
<v Speaker 2>of the knee goes straight. It wasn't doing that. It
<v Speaker 2>was more scooting, more of a scooting look. And the
<v Speaker 2>other thing that was weird. The best way I know
<v Speaker 2>to describe it was like if you or I were
<v Speaker 2>to take our head and lean her head down, like
<v Speaker 2>we were looking at her shoes or whatever. There's a
<v Speaker 2>specific vertebrae that most of that pivoting does comes from.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not a chiropractor. I don't know which one it is.
<v Speaker 2>The l whatever. But I can tell you that this one,
<v Speaker 2>that arch almost started between the shoulder blades. It was
<v Speaker 2>it was different. The arch started lower down the back,
<v Speaker 2>and it's like the whole head and neck arched up
<v Speaker 2>almost at like a forty five degree angle from a
<v Speaker 2>lower point than a human would. So it was just
<v Speaker 2>it was really strange looking. It wasn't. It was you know,
<v Speaker 2>I never thought this was a big gorilla. I thought,
<v Speaker 2>you know, definitely looked more like a person, but it
<v Speaker 2>definitely wasn't a person. It's it's just weird trying to
<v Speaker 2>describe it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, how long did you have the sasquatching view?
<v Speaker 2>Forty five seconds is what I've always guessed, because it's
<v Speaker 2>about eighty yards across, and it wasn't in a hurry,
<v Speaker 2>and I figure it seemed like it was a whole
<v Speaker 2>lot longer than that, but I think it was probably
<v Speaker 2>under a minute. But it wasn't. It wasn't just a
<v Speaker 2>split second. You know, I watched it slowly walk across
<v Speaker 2>eighty yard. I won't say slowly. It's just like it
<v Speaker 2>wasn't in a hurry. It was just like, I'm here,
<v Speaker 2>what you're going to do about it? Sort of thing?
<v Speaker 2>But it was it just walked across. And so you know,
<v Speaker 2>I've never I never went back and walked across that
<v Speaker 2>field and tie myself. But I've always guessed around forty
<v Speaker 2>five seconds is how long it took it to just
<v Speaker 2>casually walk across.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and you mentioned in our phone call earlier that
<v Speaker 1>you felt like he did that on purpose and he
<v Speaker 1>was intentionally letting you see him.
<v Speaker 2>Absolutely, there was never There's never been a moment that
<v Speaker 2>I thought that that it was my hunting skills or
<v Speaker 2>I mean I was standing right up on the rim
<v Speaker 2>of the pond, which was totally elevated. And so when
<v Speaker 2>you know, I told you it kind of I'm not
<v Speaker 2>claiming mine speak any any of that. I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>you know, people say they do or whatever. I know
<v Speaker 2>that extreme impression came over me that said, don't mess
<v Speaker 2>with me, and I won't mess with you. But at
<v Speaker 2>that same time, I felt like this thing really wanted
<v Speaker 2>me to see it. That's all I know to say
<v Speaker 2>is I really felt like it wanted me to see it.
<v Speaker 2>I'd spent a lot of time back there, and always
<v Speaker 2>weird stuff happened back there always, so you know, I mean,
<v Speaker 2>it was just it was. It was spooky. I didn't
<v Speaker 2>like it back there, but it was the only land
<v Speaker 2>I had the deer hunt on, and so, you know,
<v Speaker 2>I'm sure they were familiar with me, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it seemed like they were kind of paranoid about
<v Speaker 1>you going back there, so one decided to walk across
<v Speaker 1>the field to send the message to you.
<v Speaker 2>That could have been. That could have been what happened.
<v Speaker 2>It never never was good deer hunting back there anyhow,
<v Speaker 2>So I don't know if they kept them run off
<v Speaker 2>or what.
<v Speaker 1>Uh during that time period, did you see any deer around?
<v Speaker 2>Only deer? I remember seeing in that field. It didn't
<v Speaker 2>even see many tracks in the pond, which was fresh,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I hardly saw anything. But was was that?
<v Speaker 2>I think it was that same fall. It may have
<v Speaker 2>been the next fall, but it never seemed that important
<v Speaker 2>to me when I heard the communication back there at
<v Speaker 2>that point, you know, I told you three deer came
<v Speaker 2>up out of the out of the corner of the
<v Speaker 2>field there right where those people were talking, right where
<v Speaker 2>that noise was going back and forth, or the gibberish
<v Speaker 2>or the language they were speaking in. Those deer just
<v Speaker 2>pounded up from there right at that area. Other than that,
<v Speaker 2>I almost never saw deer back there. Now, the years
<v Speaker 2>prior we'd always seen a lot of deer, but that
<v Speaker 2>year I didn't see hardly anything.
<v Speaker 1>And this is all the same location of the sighting.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, so, Sue, my grandfather's feel was on his
<v Speaker 2>He had some land there and it was back in
<v Speaker 2>behind his house, and so that's where I saw the
<v Speaker 2>daylight visual. Now, the the experience on the river was
<v Speaker 2>about two or three miles away from his house, and
<v Speaker 2>so it was all in the same general area, but
<v Speaker 2>it wasn't you know, that wasn't his property.
<v Speaker 1>So okay, So the overwhelming feeling that you got that
<v Speaker 1>don't mess with me. Did you hear anything in your
<v Speaker 1>mind or was it just kind of like how you said,
<v Speaker 1>just the sentence that you got, I.
<v Speaker 2>Would say, I would I would call it a very
<v Speaker 2>strong impression. That's what I would call it. It wasn't
<v Speaker 2>like words. It was like a very strong impression, and
<v Speaker 2>so kind of like you know, as a you know,
<v Speaker 2>as a Christian or a believer, sometime you feel like
<v Speaker 2>the Lord saying something to you or just with a
<v Speaker 2>strong impression. Well, that's that's the sense I got of
<v Speaker 2>this thing. You know, it's not not comparing it to
<v Speaker 2>God in any way, but that same sort of a
<v Speaker 2>just an overwhelming impression that don't mess with me, and
<v Speaker 2>I won't mess with you. Mess with me and your regrets.
<v Speaker 2>So it was almost like it was in words, but
<v Speaker 2>it wasn't It kind of hitch in the goat, if
<v Speaker 2>that makes sense. So that's yeah, it's only the only
<v Speaker 2>way I know to describe it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's kind of in our DNA to the fear
<v Speaker 1>of these creatures when they're around.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, if you ever see one, you know, I know
<v Speaker 2>you have, but you know people that doubt this. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I wasn't a guy trying to see a bigfoot. I
<v Speaker 2>was literally a kid trying to unsee one. You know.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, I wasn't trying to convince myself it
<v Speaker 2>was one. I was looking at one trying to convince
<v Speaker 2>myself it couldn't be.
<v Speaker 1>And so that's a young age to take all that in.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, absolutely it was. It was weird because they aren't
<v Speaker 2>supposed to be there, but they are, so and you know,
<v Speaker 2>I don't have any answers. I don't people well, where
<v Speaker 2>do they bury they're dead? Why does the government you know,
<v Speaker 2>all this, and I've got you know, I've heard stuff,
<v Speaker 2>I've got theories on all that, but regardless, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>All I know is what I saw walking across the field,
<v Speaker 2>you know, and you can't not see it, and so
<v Speaker 2>that's it.
<v Speaker 1>Absolutely. Why do you think they call them slew foot?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. I've you know, my dad used to
<v Speaker 2>sing a song about that, and they said that song
<v Speaker 2>actually came from they made it out for a to
<v Speaker 2>be a bear, but the song was originally written it
<v Speaker 2>wasn't a bear. I think it came from the hills
<v Speaker 2>of Kentucky and it was about these these creatures and so, uh, anyhow,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. Do you know that? I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>but that's what my grandmother called it.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, that's the first time I've ever heard about it.
<v Speaker 1>But I mean, we call the parts in the river
<v Speaker 1>where it overfloods and kind of just sits still, we
<v Speaker 1>call them slows around here. I'm sure you guys call
<v Speaker 1>them the same. But I imagine that has something to do with it,
<v Speaker 1>because a lot of my experiences took place near these
<v Speaker 1>slews off the rivers.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, very well, could be, very well, could be.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, I don't know other than you know, that's
<v Speaker 2>what she told me. And I've heard other people call
<v Speaker 2>them the same thing.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, and one of my recent videos, I asked

<v Speaker 2>one swim four hundred yards underwater and come up out
<v Speaker 2>of the Mississippi River. And then I've heard several several
<v Speaker 2>other stories about how not only can they swim, but
<v Speaker 2>how agile, how fast they are, how long they can
<v Speaker 2>hold their breath. Heard those same sort of stories on
<v Speaker 2>you know, different different videos and things that I've listened to,
<v Speaker 2>And at that point, I'm like, crap, that's what we
<v Speaker 2>saw that night. That's where Beany kept calling a monster
<v Speaker 2>because he had a better view than I did, he
<v Speaker 2>was a little closer, he wasn't as afraid, and you know,
<v Speaker 2>I just blocked it out of my mind. But I
<v Speaker 2>don't know if they can you know, I always felt
<v Speaker 2>that one was pushing off with its feet, But they
<v Speaker 2>can sure hold their breath for a long time, I'll
<v Speaker 2>say that.
<v Speaker 1>So, do you think it's possible the sasquatch could possibly
<v Speaker 1>use the underwater cave systems to bury and hide they're dead.
<v Speaker 2>I think there's a good possibility they bury their dead.
<v Speaker 2>I don't. I don't know for sure. I know the
<v Speaker 2>rabbit hole goes pretty deep. I kind of, personally, you know,
<v Speaker 2>started this journey thinking it was more the Gigantipithecus, the
<v Speaker 2>giant eight missing links sort of not that I believe
<v Speaker 2>in the they of evolution like some people, you know,
<v Speaker 2>like you know, scientifically, but more that it was a
<v Speaker 2>creature that used to live, that still lived. And and
<v Speaker 2>I've my personal conclusion is more that there is a
<v Speaker 2>tie to the to the Book of Enoch, the fallen
<v Speaker 2>angels in the Bible in Genesis six and some things
<v Speaker 2>like that. But that's you know, that's a huge can
<v Speaker 2>of worms right there. And that's just my personal opinion
<v Speaker 2>after my studies, and so I don't, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I think the government knows they're out there, and I
<v Speaker 2>think they've covered it up many times. That's my personal opinion.

<v Speaker 1>have been hidden from me kind, and I believe Bigfoot

<v Speaker 1>You mentioned it had a large head and it was
<v Speaker 1>conical shaped at the top. Did you see any features
<v Speaker 1>that you could describe? As far as we could, we
<v Speaker 1>could kind of make the nose was big, and it
<v Speaker 1>wasn't like a human nose. It was more more wide
<v Speaker 1>flaring nostrils. But we couldn't I mean, and I don't
<v Speaker 1>want to exaggerate or over we could not see that
<v Speaker 1>in much detail.
<v Speaker 2>And that's just the truth. It was just so dark
<v Speaker 2>and the flashlight was so bad, but you could start
<v Speaker 2>to make the nose was kind of smashed out over
<v Speaker 2>the face. Other than that, you couldn't see much other
<v Speaker 2>than just the immense size. I mean, this head, the
<v Speaker 2>head of this creature, if you were to just take
<v Speaker 2>the head off, if I'm correct and saying you know,
<v Speaker 2>it was a big foot, the head probably weighed fifty
<v Speaker 2>pounds at least. I mean, it was. This thing was huge.
<v Speaker 2>This was not this was not the same. It wasn't
<v Speaker 2>like what I saw walk across the field. When I
<v Speaker 2>walked across the field was probably a little bigger than
<v Speaker 2>shat Shaquille O'Neill. What was in the river that night.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know how. It's how it made it in
<v Speaker 2>those woods without be because it was I mean, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know how big it was, but I mean it
<v Speaker 2>was big. It was, you know, if it was from
<v Speaker 2>the size of the splash, I mean everything this it
<v Speaker 2>was ginormous. It was you know, probably seven eight hundred pounds.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, you know that's just a guess. I never
<v Speaker 2>saw the body, but proportion wise, it was massive.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. What feeling did you have when it started to

<v Speaker 2>I thought, it's intelligent, you know. First, like I said,
<v Speaker 2>it went in the water, when we talked about how
<v Speaker 2>quiet it was, and the second we did, here's this
<v Speaker 2>massive explosion of a splash. I mean it sounded like
<v Speaker 2>it was dropped out of a helicopter. I mean it
<v Speaker 2>went under when he pulls the shotgun up to his shoulder,
<v Speaker 2>so smart enough to know what a shotgun was. When
<v Speaker 2>it tilted its head, I felt like it was examinous,
<v Speaker 2>Like what in the world am I looking at? Just
<v Speaker 2>trying to figure us out. You know, That's that's what
<v Speaker 2>I thought. It was like almost like a human would
<v Speaker 2>do sometime if they were in deep thought. You know
<v Speaker 2>what what am I looking at? So?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and can you describe the zigzag pattern that it
<v Speaker 1>was making when it went underwater?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, Well that was actually from from the moment
<v Speaker 2>we encountered it on the upper end of the gravel bar.
<v Speaker 2>When it went downstream to the to the point right
<v Speaker 2>in front of us, it used that zigzag pattern. It
<v Speaker 2>was about it'd go about three feet in each direction,
<v Speaker 2>almost forming a z back and forth, back and forth,
<v Speaker 2>instead of instead of going in a directly straight line
<v Speaker 2>in the water.
<v Speaker 1>So it's coming at you and not going away from you.
<v Speaker 1>When it's doing it.
<v Speaker 2>It's paralleling us, paralleling us. But when it wound up,
<v Speaker 2>it was probably just twenty feet out from it. We
<v Speaker 2>were probably standing twenty feet from it. It was just
<v Speaker 2>twenty feet out in the water because our our fire
<v Speaker 2>was probably only five feet up on the bank. Because
<v Speaker 2>we want to see, you know, we want to see
<v Speaker 2>the water and see we had to fit one fishing
<v Speaker 2>ride out at some point that night. We want to
<v Speaker 2>see our fishing rods and stuff. So the fire was
<v Speaker 2>you know, the fire was there, and it stops intentionally
<v Speaker 2>right in front of that fire. And so, yeah, so
<v Speaker 2>they're intelligent.
<v Speaker 1>They're intelligent enough to know that humans can't see in
<v Speaker 1>the dark very well.
<v Speaker 2>I think they're intelligent enough to know when to jump
<v Speaker 2>in the water and scare the crap out of you.
<v Speaker 2>They're intelligent enough to know when to go underwater where
<v Speaker 2>they won't get shot. And yes, they're intelligent enough to
<v Speaker 2>play our line of view to their benefit. That's my opinion.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, can you describe your exact thoughts when you laid
<v Speaker 1>eyes on this creature?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, the second one. My thought, the whole process, until
<v Speaker 2>looking back in retrospect, was one of denial. I never
<v Speaker 2>embraced the fact that it could be a bigfoot because
<v Speaker 2>I didn't know they got in the water. I didn't
<v Speaker 2>know what I was looking at. Never did until I
<v Speaker 2>started hearing other stories that were very similar to mine
<v Speaker 2>of these creatures, you know, walking up you know, I
<v Speaker 2>listened to a story of some researchers in Texas and
<v Speaker 2>they intentionally put their tint right up against the water
<v Speaker 2>where they could watch the tree line all night. Make
<v Speaker 2>sure one of these didn't sneak up on them, and
<v Speaker 2>somehow they hear this massive splash out in the lake.
<v Speaker 2>They shine their light out there, and this thing just
<v Speaker 2>comes walking up out of the middle of the lake.
<v Speaker 2>You know, I don't know where it came from. They
<v Speaker 2>don't either, But you know, until I started hearing stories
<v Speaker 2>like that, it never clicked to me. I just I
<v Speaker 2>had totally just you know, filed this away. It's just
<v Speaker 2>something weird that happened. And then I'm like, crap, you know,
<v Speaker 2>I saw the first bigfoot. I know that was a bigfoot.
<v Speaker 2>And then I hear these stories of what they can
<v Speaker 2>do in the water, and how the cold water doesn't
<v Speaker 2>bother them, how all kinds of people have seen him swim,
<v Speaker 2>and how they can hold their breath for long periods
<v Speaker 2>of times and stuff like that, and at that point,
<v Speaker 2>I'm you know, I would say, I'm ninety nine percent
<v Speaker 2>certain that's what I saw, but I don't know for
<v Speaker 2>a fact, because you know, I just I saw what
<v Speaker 2>I saw. I know it was the weirdest thing I
<v Speaker 2>ever saw, and there's no I just don't have an
<v Speaker 2>explanation for it other than the eyes. The eyes were
<v Speaker 2>huge and massive, and it was it knew what it
<v Speaker 2>was doing the whole time.
<v Speaker 1>You mentioned that Benny had the flashlight. Do you think
<v Speaker 1>he got a better look at the creature?
<v Speaker 2>I do.
<v Speaker 1>He was.
<v Speaker 2>He was probably four or five feet closer than me.
<v Speaker 2>Although I was pretty close to him. I didn't want
<v Speaker 2>to get away from him. I didn't want to be
<v Speaker 2>on my own ether. But he was probably four or
<v Speaker 2>five feet closer than me, and he was really leaned
<v Speaker 2>out over the water, looking too. And his instant reaction
<v Speaker 2>was it's a monster. It's a monster. Of course he was.
<v Speaker 2>He was cussing and hollering, it's you know, And I
<v Speaker 2>kept saying, it can't be. I mean, you know, I
<v Speaker 2>just that's what I said, it can't be because I
<v Speaker 2>just didn't have you know, even though I'd seen the one,
<v Speaker 2>I made no connection that these things could get in
<v Speaker 2>the water or be that agile in the water. And
<v Speaker 2>so I was in denial until I heard these stories
<v Speaker 2>years later. And you know, now I'm, you know, really
<v Speaker 2>sure that's what I saw.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, And it sounds like it really affected him, since
<v Speaker 1>he stayed up all night with the shotgun in his lap.
<v Speaker 1>Did you guys ever talk about it again?
<v Speaker 2>Never again? The last words he said was that morning.
<v Speaker 2>He said. It never came up for air, and he
<v Speaker 2>was never the same. We never had the same relation.
<v Speaker 2>We used to fish a lot. Uh, it was just
<v Speaker 2>totally different. He moved off probably six months later, and
<v Speaker 2>like I said, you know, committed suicide. Unfortunately, I'm not
<v Speaker 2>saying that that did it or caused it. It could
<v Speaker 2>have been a contributing factor. He dealt with other things.
<v Speaker 2>He was a good guy, but he dealt with some
<v Speaker 2>other things too, I know. But still, yes, sir, Uh,
<v Speaker 2>it still altered his you know, altered his personality. It
<v Speaker 2>affected him. Uh, you know, at least our relationship. And
<v Speaker 2>we didn't nobody knew what to do with it. You know,
<v Speaker 2>what do you do with that? You know? So I
<v Speaker 2>just couldn't. I just acted like it never happened or like,
<v Speaker 2>you know, it was no big deal or whatever. Until
<v Speaker 2>I started hearing these other stories and then I thought, man,
<v Speaker 2>that's you know, And I almost didn't tell anybody because
<v Speaker 2>it's weird enough to sit tell somebody, Hey, I saw
<v Speaker 2>a big foot walking across the field in broad daylight.
<v Speaker 2>The name you say, I've seen two of them, I mean,
<v Speaker 2>but you know, you just can't unsee what you've seen.
<v Speaker 2>Those are my experiences.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, did it affect your friendships or anything like
<v Speaker 1>that later on in life when you try to talk
<v Speaker 1>to people about it.
<v Speaker 3>My my ex wife did not like me talking about it,
<v Speaker 3>and some people were open to it, some people weren't,
<v Speaker 3>and so I never really talked about it for a
<v Speaker 3>long time.
<v Speaker 2>For fifteen or twenty years, I didn't talk about it,
<v Speaker 2>and then it just started, you know. Actually I started
<v Speaker 2>listening to other stories. I remember one day, I was
<v Speaker 2>just driving down the road and I thought, I wonder
<v Speaker 2>if anybody else has ever seen a bigfoot in Tennessee,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I was. That was back before texting and
<v Speaker 2>driving with Zillig or whatever. But I just looked it
<v Speaker 2>up on my phone and I'm like, there's all kinds
<v Speaker 2>of these bigfoot sightings in Tennessee and Georgia and Alabama.
<v Speaker 2>And I'm like, wow, I'm not alone, you know, And so.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yes, did you ever find any encounter sightings in
<v Speaker 1>that exact area?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? Yeah, So I had a friend, my brother in
<v Speaker 2>law was up on my grandfather's hillside, which was three
<v Speaker 2>quarters of them all away. It was sixty one acres
<v Speaker 2>I think, and it was detached from his property and
<v Speaker 2>he got ran off. He was deer hunting. He got
<v Speaker 2>ran off. He was in the dark. But he said
<v Speaker 2>it was the same loud, gibberish language that he kept
<v Speaker 2>hearing it around him. And he left and he never
<v Speaker 2>went hunting there again. I know another guy that went
<v Speaker 2>hunting back there, and not on my grandfather's property, the
<v Speaker 2>property behind it. And he just left. And so a
<v Speaker 2>good friend of mine is his uncle, and he asked me,
<v Speaker 2>he said, what what happened? You know? And the guy
<v Speaker 2>you know is a rugged outdoorsman, but he just said,
<v Speaker 2>don't ask, and I'm never going back. Just I don't
<v Speaker 2>want to talk about it, you know, that sort of thing.
<v Speaker 2>I had a friend who was down on that gravel bar,
<v Speaker 2>not the same one, This one was upstream from guy
<v Speaker 2>James Bridge, about a mile and a half. He spent
<v Speaker 2>the night down there, and he said he heard something.
<v Speaker 2>There's a big corn field there and he heard something
<v Speaker 2>that sounded like, he described it, like a rhinoceros running
<v Speaker 2>acros a hippopotamus or something just so big and heavy
<v Speaker 2>running across that field and it's coming straight at him.
<v Speaker 2>They had a little fire down there, and he told
<v Speaker 2>me that he told me that when it hit the river,
<v Speaker 2>it was just a little bit out of sight. The
<v Speaker 2>river's narrow and shallow there, it's not that deep. It's
<v Speaker 2>hard to I kayak it a lot. Sometimes you have
<v Speaker 2>to get out and drag it there. But he said
<v Speaker 2>that there was only one splash, and so it went
<v Speaker 2>across at least a twenty foot river. It was running,
<v Speaker 2>but its foot only touched once whatever it was, but
<v Speaker 2>he never saw it. Just that's I guess. It's pretty
<v Speaker 2>much the only stories I've heard from from right around
<v Speaker 2>there in that area, but just things like that. There
<v Speaker 2>were some somebody supposedly back in the early nineteen hundreds
<v Speaker 2>was attacked by back when they horse and buggy days,
<v Speaker 2>attacked by a monkey that jumped on them and wouldn't
<v Speaker 2>get off of them in the dark, and it really
<v Speaker 2>freaked them out back there. I thought, well, maybe there's
<v Speaker 2>a young sisquatch, because monkeys, you know, have never roam
<v Speaker 2>the wild in Tennessee as far as I know. But
<v Speaker 2>that's the sort of things that surround that. That's really
<v Speaker 2>all I've heard.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Yeah, And I had the feeling that there would
<v Speaker 1>be other stories around the area.
<v Speaker 2>And that's just with the people that I know that
<v Speaker 2>I've asked. I haven't asked many people. You don't just
<v Speaker 2>go up asking, you know, asking everybody about stuff like this.
<v Speaker 2>But the few people that I know, that's the response
<v Speaker 2>I've got. You know, they've they've either had things that
<v Speaker 2>were weird. Nobody's ever seen anything, but they've had things
<v Speaker 2>that were weird happened, and you know, like I discussed
<v Speaker 2>getting run off from deer stands and things like that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and real quick, back to the first encounter. M
<v Speaker 1>You were wearing camouflage, correct?
<v Speaker 2>No, No, I had a I can't remember what kind
<v Speaker 2>of shirt I had on, but I had a brown
<v Speaker 2>hunting vest. It was just like a like you'd used
<v Speaker 2>to put shotgun shells in if you're gonna go hunt
<v Speaker 2>quail or or something. It was just like a vest,
<v Speaker 2>and it was overtop of some kind of a shirt.
<v Speaker 2>But no, I wasn't. I wasn't in camo.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, I guess where I'm getting at is Did it
<v Speaker 1>seem like the sasquatch immediately knew where you were at
<v Speaker 1>when he came out into viewing distance.
<v Speaker 2>It took either three or four steps before it looked
<v Speaker 2>at me. But I always felt like it knew I
<v Speaker 2>was there. Yeah, because I was. I mean, I was
<v Speaker 2>the easiest thing to see in that whole field. I was.
<v Speaker 2>I was elevated on a pond standing up, you know. Okay, yeah, so, uh,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I figure it knew that I was there, But.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, I really liked your encounter stories, and I
<v Speaker 1>feel like I learned a lot from them, because you
<v Speaker 1>always hear people saying that the Sasquatch like to travel
<v Speaker 1>the waterways, whether it's the rivers or the creeks. But
<v Speaker 1>this gives me a whole new perspective of it, because
<v Speaker 1>now I'm thinking that they're swimming to get to certain areas,
<v Speaker 1>and maybe that's how they sneak up on people so
<v Speaker 1>easy when they're when they're camping.
<v Speaker 2>It could be well, I will tell you whatever happened
<v Speaker 2>with this when when it entered, it seemed like it
<v Speaker 2>went in the water. When we heard it, it was
<v Speaker 2>like it jumped out of something or whatever. But we
<v Speaker 2>never heard it come up. It was quiet, you know,
<v Speaker 2>it had been quiet for a while. We never heard
<v Speaker 2>it such as so much as a twig break. And
<v Speaker 2>we went from that being he saying, manager is quite
<v Speaker 2>outside to the most humongous splash you can absolutely imagine
<v Speaker 2>in your life that just straight from nothing peace, totally
<v Speaker 2>quiet to kathume, you know, just this massive, massive splash.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and I'm going to tell you both times there
<v Speaker 1>was probably more around than just the one.
<v Speaker 2>Oh oh yeah, you know, especially since hearing those two
<v Speaker 2>communicate back and forth in that field, I have no
<v Speaker 2>doubt that you're probably right on that. That's all, you know.
<v Speaker 2>All I saw was what I saw. But I would
<v Speaker 2>definitely think you're right.
<v Speaker 1>Do you still have access to that property?
<v Speaker 2>No, we sold it. Our family sold it probably twenty fifteen,
<v Speaker 2>twenty years ago. I've thought about going back and kind
<v Speaker 2>of touching base and just actually just tell him what
<v Speaker 2>I saw, you know, but I've never done so. I
<v Speaker 2>ask some people that moved onto my grandfather's hill if
<v Speaker 2>they ever saw anything up there, and they hadn't. They
<v Speaker 2>moved onto that hill, built a house up there, and
<v Speaker 2>they said they never saw. Now he told me, he said,
<v Speaker 2>I'll ask my daughters. He and they're the ones that
<v Speaker 2>were in the woods most. But he never got back
<v Speaker 2>with me. But but he, you know, he told me
<v Speaker 2>that he never saw he saw something he felt was
<v Speaker 2>very paranormal up there, but he never saw Sasquatch.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, yeah, that's interesting. Now real quick, before we finished
<v Speaker 1>the show, have you ever seen any orbs or any
<v Speaker 1>strange lights up in the sky, anything weird out there
<v Speaker 1>other than Sasquatch.
<v Speaker 2>No? No, And you know, I didn't even know there
<v Speaker 2>was like a connection between any of that stuff until
<v Speaker 2>you know, obviously I listened to a whole lot more
<v Speaker 2>other than as I explained. When I first saw this
<v Speaker 2>one coming out of the right side of that field,
<v Speaker 2>it was like it was like it was shimmering almost.
<v Speaker 2>There was almost like a shimmer there, like like you
<v Speaker 2>were looking through an intense amount of heat or something.
<v Speaker 2>And I didn't know if that was just my eyes adjusting.
<v Speaker 2>I never put two and two together, you know, some
<v Speaker 2>people have a multi dimensional theory to these things. But
<v Speaker 2>it was I don't know if I don't know if
<v Speaker 2>it just walked out of the field or if it
<v Speaker 2>just appeared. I don't know, it just it was. I
<v Speaker 2>just remember that shimmering and thinking, man, that's you know,
<v Speaker 2>my eyes almost like my eyes were having to focus
<v Speaker 2>and then there comes you know, and.
<v Speaker 1>So okay, yeah, let's talk about that real quick before
<v Speaker 1>we end this. Did it look like, I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>maybe like something chrome behind the foliage and like the
<v Speaker 1>sun was hitting it it, or like I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>like the heat above the ayesphalt something like that.
<v Speaker 2>It had that look of heat, like a mirage exactly.
<v Speaker 2>That's the best way I could describe it. It was
<v Speaker 2>just it looked like you were looking through intense heat.
<v Speaker 2>But it was just in that one corner where that was.
<v Speaker 2>But it was almost like, you know, was there something
<v Speaker 2>in my eye or whatever. I didn't know what I
<v Speaker 2>was looking at. And I'm not making claims. That could
<v Speaker 2>have just been a coincidence. It could have just, you know,
<v Speaker 2>it could have you know, walked away out of the
<v Speaker 2>woods somewhere. But it almost just seemed like it just
<v Speaker 2>showed up. But it was in the shrubs, so you know,
<v Speaker 2>I'm looking and there's a shimmering over there and then
<v Speaker 2>it walks out.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Yeah, that's interesting. There's a clue there. I'm not
<v Speaker 1>sure what it is or what to say at this
<v Speaker 1>very moment, but there's definitely something there. I was at
<v Speaker 1>a national forest a couple of weeks ago, and I
<v Speaker 1>was in this parking lot in a very remote area
<v Speaker 1>and I could see. I don't know, it seemed like
<v Speaker 1>chrome or like this car was parked on the other
<v Speaker 1>side of the chalk road, and like I said, just
<v Speaker 1>nothing but forest around. And the whole time we're sitting there,
<v Speaker 1>me and a buddy, just sitting in these chairs talking,
<v Speaker 1>I'm thinking, man, there must be another parking lot up
<v Speaker 1>there across the road, because it looks like I can
<v Speaker 1>see something chrome shining. So after we we finish up
<v Speaker 1>in that area it's starting to get dark, I walk
<v Speaker 1>up the road to see if there's another parking lot,
<v Speaker 1>just to see there's nothing there. It's just solid forest. Nothing.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it was strange.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's there's a guy down here named Scott Carpenter
<v Speaker 2>that's recorded some weird stuff like that. And of course
<v Speaker 2>when I saw this, I didn't have access to any
<v Speaker 2>of that. I didn't know. I felt like as the
<v Speaker 2>only person ever saw one, you know, outside of Patterson Gimblin.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, you you just don't know until other people
<v Speaker 2>start telling their their stories. But it wasn't like there
<v Speaker 2>was a reference point and other people had seen them,
<v Speaker 2>and other people had seen you know, orbs, or seen
<v Speaker 2>them in the water or seen whatever there was nothing,
<v Speaker 2>you know, you just you know, I'm thankful what's out

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, either way, doesn't matter if they're coming through a
<v Speaker 1>portal or if they're just living out in the woods. Regardless,
<v Speaker 1>they're out there.

<v Speaker 1>Well. I think it's creepy enough to know the sasquatch
<v Speaker 1>can sneak up on us at any moment in the woods,
<v Speaker 1>but to think they can swim and appear from the
<v Speaker 1>water is a chilling thought and adds a whole new
<v Speaker 1>perspective behind it. I also feel the sasquatch will break
<v Speaker 1>cover at times to possibly intimidate anyone in the area.
<v Speaker 1>I have had the sasquatch triangulate around me a few
<v Speaker 1>times and even flank me on all my exit trails.
<v Speaker 1>It's a chilling, dark feeling to know you have to
<v Speaker 1>walk through that area to get back to safety. The
<v Speaker 1>Sasquatch are very intelligent and they are masters at what
<v Speaker 1>they do. We hear so many stories with similarities, but
<v Speaker 1>rarely do we find any answers on why they occurred
<v Speaker 1>in the first place. I want to thank everyone for
