SCOTT MICHIGAN HUNTING BIGFOOT STORY (WHITETAIL GUY) PODCAST

<v Speaker 1>Hey, everyone, Welcome back to sasquatch theory. In this episode,
<v Speaker 1>we have a bowhunter from the state of Michigan who
<v Speaker 1>has had some sasquatch encounters while hunting in the forest.
<v Speaker 1>I find these types of stories to be the most
<v Speaker 1>interesting and informative when trying to understand the bigfoots behavior.
<v Speaker 1>Hunters are very aware of their surroundings and are always
<v Speaker 1>keeping an eye out for any subtle movement. Experienced hunters
<v Speaker 1>understand how to track animals and always try to keep
<v Speaker 1>the wind in their favor. Trying to locate him a
<v Speaker 1>tray animal that has outlived many hunting seasons can be
<v Speaker 1>a daunting task, but with the right knowledge and patience,
<v Speaker 1>a person could have a few encounters or even have
<v Speaker 1>one walk right underneath their stand. But what happened to
<v Speaker 1>Scott on this particular bow season day was something much
<v Speaker 1>more rare than encountering a white tail buck. While entering
<v Speaker 1>the forest one morning to bowhunt, Scott soon found out
<v Speaker 1>that he himself was being stocked and possibly hunted by
<v Speaker 1>some type of unknown predator. You will often hear hunters
<v Speaker 1>Scott at the idea of bigfoot existing in the forest,
<v Speaker 1>but you will also get feedback like I have hunted
<v Speaker 1>everywhere and never seen anything, but one would have to
<v Speaker 1>be extremely naive to believe that a single person has
<v Speaker 1>been everywhere in one lifetime. I believe that even if
<v Speaker 1>you live next to these creatures, the odds of you
<v Speaker 1>seeing one is still very low. Many bigfoot stories have
<v Speaker 1>been told by hunters all over North America. A good
<v Speaker 1>portion of sasquatch sidings have been reported by outdoor enthusiasts.
<v Speaker 1>This includes hunters, the Forest Service, and many others who
<v Speaker 1>utilize the forest. If you were an outdoorsman, I would
<v Speaker 1>highly recommend listening to this interview, as these types of situations.
<v Speaker 2>Could easily happen to you out in the brush. It's
<v Speaker 2>just good to be aware just a case that happens
<v Speaker 2>to you.

<v Speaker 3>Well, thanks a lot for letting me come on your
<v Speaker 3>show and tell them a couple of my experiences and
<v Speaker 3>some stuff that's going on in my life since two
<v Speaker 3>thousand when this all started and opened the whole world
<v Speaker 3>of sasquatch for me.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, yeah, great, glad to have you on if you would.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, just start from the beginning when it all started,
<v Speaker 1>and that was all how it happened.
<v Speaker 3>Well, this all started. It was sometime in November, like
<v Speaker 3>middle of November. The rut was on, and uh, you
<v Speaker 3>know I had been in the woods for quite a
<v Speaker 3>long time at this point, and you know, mainly, you know,
<v Speaker 3>I mainly hunt deer. That's all I care about. I
<v Speaker 3>look forward to it every year. I get together with
<v Speaker 3>my buddies from Ohio, and you know, you have a
<v Speaker 3>lot of camaraderie when you get together with people and hunt,
<v Speaker 3>and you know, y'all want to get deer, and when
<v Speaker 3>somebody gets deer, everybody's excited. So I've been hunting a
<v Speaker 3>long time, never having sasquatch on my mind. But I
<v Speaker 3>had hunted in Ohio, here in Indiana, in Michigan where
<v Speaker 3>I lived the funny thing of it is when you
<v Speaker 3>don't have Bigfoot on the brain and you see stuff.
<v Speaker 3>For me, it just never really connected with sasquatch or bigfoot.
<v Speaker 3>It never landed in my mind when I saw a
<v Speaker 3>tree break. And I've seen a lot of tree breaks,
<v Speaker 3>a lot of tree breaks over the years. You know,
<v Speaker 3>eight nine feet up and you know the top court
<v Speaker 3>of the tree has broke over and it's just hanging
<v Speaker 3>in one direction or the other, usually along a trail
<v Speaker 3>or a game trail. And like I told you on
<v Speaker 3>the phone, you know, I've seen a lot of them.
<v Speaker 3>I've seen some of them that are twisted. And you know,
<v Speaker 3>like I told you, got to have hands to do that.
<v Speaker 3>No wind or storm is going to take a tree
<v Speaker 3>and break the top part of it. You know, if
<v Speaker 3>you have a big tree, all the weak limbs are
<v Speaker 3>going to fall out of the tree they can't handle
<v Speaker 3>the wind. But a six to seven eight inch tree around,
<v Speaker 3>you know, a sapling tree or eight inch tree growing,
<v Speaker 3>that's pretty healthy. It's gonna pretty much withstand a windstorm
<v Speaker 3>of any kind. You know.
<v Speaker 1>It's if you could just kind of pretend like we
<v Speaker 1>never talked, and like if you already told me something,
<v Speaker 1>go ahead and tell it again so that kay of
<v Speaker 1>the audience will know.
<v Speaker 3>Okay. So I would see these tree breaks over my
<v Speaker 3>hunting career. I mean, this year, it'll be thirty one
<v Speaker 3>years that I've been in the woods. And you know,
<v Speaker 3>I was just going out to hunt, you know, big bucks.
<v Speaker 3>I love killing big bucks. I'm a meat eater and
<v Speaker 3>I've been doing this a long time. So I went
<v Speaker 3>over to the landowner's place and it was in a
<v Speaker 3>town called Mayville, Michigan, and I lived in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
<v Speaker 3>So as the crow flies, as they say, from point
<v Speaker 3>A to point B, it was about an hour and
<v Speaker 3>probably forty five minutes for me to get over there.
<v Speaker 3>So if I wanted to get out in the morning
<v Speaker 3>and beat the sun coming up, I had to get
<v Speaker 3>up pretty early. So I drove over there. I need
<v Speaker 3>I need to say before I start this. There was
<v Speaker 3>no moon phase, so there was no moon. The phase
<v Speaker 3>that the moon phase had went out, and it was dark.
<v Speaker 3>And I mean when I say dark, I mean you
<v Speaker 3>when it's that dark, you can't see the hand in
<v Speaker 3>front of your face. So it was pitch blackout. So
<v Speaker 3>when I got to the landowner's house. I got out
<v Speaker 3>of my car and my all my gear was on
<v Speaker 3>the other side of the car, and I got out
<v Speaker 3>and I walked around my car and I just noticed that, geez,
<v Speaker 3>it's like really really quiet, like there's no movement of anything.
<v Speaker 3>There's no sound. I mean, it was so quiet. I
<v Speaker 3>could hear ringing in my ears. It was like really airy.
<v Speaker 3>And I've hunted days, you know, mornings when it's been
<v Speaker 3>pretty quiet and everything, but there's usually squirrels moving in
<v Speaker 3>the woods or whatever, but there was there was I
<v Speaker 3>couldn't hear anything. So I got my gear out, and
<v Speaker 3>I mean you could hear a needle drop. And I
<v Speaker 3>got my gear out, put my gear on, got my
<v Speaker 3>ball and everything, and I started down the two track. Now,
<v Speaker 3>the two track when about forty five to fifty feet
<v Speaker 3>behind the landowner's house, so his house was up pretty high,
<v Speaker 3>it's like a hill, and then it went down into
<v Speaker 3>the woods or forest, whatever you want to call it.
<v Speaker 3>I hunted about two hundred and fifty acres, but all
<v Speaker 3>together it was six to seven thousand acres, so it
<v Speaker 3>was pretty huge. And I had been around a lot
<v Speaker 3>in there, so I knew a lot of areas, so
<v Speaker 3>I started down the two track, and the two track
<v Speaker 3>bent to the right and then gradually went into the woods,
<v Speaker 3>and I turned right and I was walking south, and
<v Speaker 3>then the two track turned to the left and it
<v Speaker 3>ran probably I don't know, probably two and a half
<v Speaker 3>three four miles. You could drive a four wheeler back
<v Speaker 3>in there if you wanted to, and it went east,
<v Speaker 3>so I had to take a left, and then I
<v Speaker 3>walked another probably I don't know, seven eight steps, and
<v Speaker 3>there was a game trail that dumped into it, and
<v Speaker 3>I turned right because I had to walk down that
<v Speaker 3>game trail about two hundred hundred and fifty yards back
<v Speaker 3>in the woods where my stand was, and I hunted
<v Speaker 3>up bowl. If you could picture a bull sitting on
<v Speaker 3>the ground. I had twenty five foot ridges all around me,
<v Speaker 3>and my tree stand was about twenty feet up, so
<v Speaker 3>I could see just to the top of the ridge
<v Speaker 3>all around me, and then it kind of broke down
<v Speaker 3>to about I don't know, five six feet, so I
<v Speaker 3>would initially when I got down to the end of
<v Speaker 3>that trail and got up over that ridge, I had
<v Speaker 3>to go up about five or six feet to get
<v Speaker 3>down into where my stand was. And then from behind me,
<v Speaker 3>from the twenty five foot ridge. It would slope down
<v Speaker 3>past me into swamp. It was a swampy area full
<v Speaker 3>of water. So when I turned right and started down
<v Speaker 3>that game trail, I was walking south and I got
<v Speaker 3>down there probably I probably took seventeen eighteen nineteen steps.
<v Speaker 3>I don't remember exactly, but it was pretty close to
<v Speaker 3>that and I stepped on a branch and it cracked.
<v Speaker 3>And when I stepped on that branch and it cracked,
<v Speaker 3>something I mean huge got up about It was about
<v Speaker 3>thirty five forty yards away from me. It got up.
<v Speaker 3>And when I mean it got up, I mean it
<v Speaker 3>violently got up, like it made all kinds of noise
<v Speaker 3>getting up. And I thought to myself, I froze. I
<v Speaker 3>took a step when I broke that branch. I took
<v Speaker 3>another step, and that thing got up and I was
<v Speaker 3>bent over, and I remember my mind was telling my body, Scott,
<v Speaker 3>straighten up, straighten up, and I couldn't straighten up. I
<v Speaker 3>was just stuck there. And this thing got up and
<v Speaker 3>it made you know, there was leaves all over the
<v Speaker 3>floor of the forest, and I mean it made so
<v Speaker 3>much noise getting up. So I'm thinking, what the heck
<v Speaker 3>is this because it sounds huge. Then I'm in pitch black.
<v Speaker 3>Now I forgot one one note. I always go into
<v Speaker 3>woods with a small flashlight on my thigh and I
<v Speaker 3>roll that flashlight left or right when I'm walking. I
<v Speaker 3>can just see around my feet so I don't trip
<v Speaker 3>on something and fall on my face. So I had
<v Speaker 3>that flashlight on my thigh and this thing got up
<v Speaker 3>and then I hear it take five steps in behind
<v Speaker 3>me on that two track, so it half circled me,
<v Speaker 3>went right in behind me on that two track and
<v Speaker 3>walked just like me. And I'm thinking to myself in
<v Speaker 3>the moment, I'm still bent over. I can't straighten up,
<v Speaker 3>and I'm thinking, you know, what in the heck is this?
<v Speaker 3>Because this thing's walking like me. And I hate to
<v Speaker 3>call it a thing, but you know, this creature, whatever
<v Speaker 3>it is, you know, took five steps behind me and
<v Speaker 3>was staying in on the two track, and I I
<v Speaker 3>took that flashlight. I'm like, I got to shine it
<v Speaker 3>to my right. So I shined it over to my right,
<v Speaker 3>and it's pretty bright in the in the woods in
<v Speaker 3>the dark, and I saw nothing. Well, I put that
<v Speaker 3>hurry up and put that flashlight back on my thigh
<v Speaker 3>real quick, and I don't thinking to myself, Scott, you're
<v Speaker 3>an idiot. That thing, whatever it is, is directly behind
<v Speaker 3>you on that two track, and now it knows exactly
<v Speaker 3>where you are. Because I knew outside of seeing the
<v Speaker 3>Patterson Gimlin film of Patty when I was nine years
<v Speaker 3>old in Search of with Leonard Nimoy, I didn't know
<v Speaker 3>hardly anything about Sasquatch. I was just a bow hunter.
<v Speaker 3>I'm a deer hunter. I love killing big bucks. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>so this wasn't in my mind, so it didn't click
<v Speaker 3>to me yet of what the heck was going on
<v Speaker 3>or what it was. I just knew that this thing
<v Speaker 3>was standing behind me, and I thought to myself, Man,
<v Speaker 3>this thing could come down this trail, whatever it is,
<v Speaker 3>and it can get me. I don't know what it is,
<v Speaker 3>but you know, I for a second there, I thought, man,
<v Speaker 3>this is it. I'm gonna die right here. And this
<v Speaker 3>was a Michigan and it's gonna be it. This thing's
<v Speaker 3>gonna come down and get me, and nobody's ever gonna
<v Speaker 3>find me. I'm gonna be gone. And I thought to myself,
<v Speaker 3>you know what, I got to start walking to my stand.
<v Speaker 3>I gotta get to my stand. I still have two
<v Speaker 3>hundred and some yards to get back to my stand,
<v Speaker 3>and I got to get to my stand and get
<v Speaker 3>up my tree. So I started walking. When I started walking,
<v Speaker 3>it started walking, and it was trying to be stealthy
<v Speaker 3>because it was walking when I was walking, so I
<v Speaker 3>you know, I'm sure it was thinking, well, maybe he
<v Speaker 3>can't hear me, or or you know, i'll just walk
<v Speaker 3>when he walks. Well, you know, years later, I hear
<v Speaker 3>all these people give their accounts and their experiences, and
<v Speaker 3>it's the same characteristic. You know, this thing was following us.
<v Speaker 3>When we stopped, it stopped. When we started walking, it
<v Speaker 3>would start walking. So you know, I didn't know anything
<v Speaker 3>like that in two thousand. So I took four steps,
<v Speaker 3>I stopped, It took one more step, and it stopped.
<v Speaker 3>Now I'm sitting there in the pitch black dark, I
<v Speaker 3>can't see nothing. I'm scared to have to pull that
<v Speaker 3>flash flight up because I don't know what the heck
<v Speaker 3>it is. So I started walking again. This time I
<v Speaker 3>took five steps, I stopped, It took one more step
<v Speaker 3>and stopped, and I would stand there for guys, it
<v Speaker 3>seemed like five minutes but it was probably more like
<v Speaker 3>sixty seconds, maybe a minute. And I started walking again.
<v Speaker 3>I took five steps, I stopped. It took one more step,
<v Speaker 3>and the hair started to raise on my neck because
<v Speaker 3>now this thing's walking just like me. Okay, I don't
<v Speaker 3>have anything in there like that, And I know there's
<v Speaker 3>nobody in there because I've hunted all over in there,
<v Speaker 3>and if there was somebody camping in there, or somebody
<v Speaker 3>living in there, or just somebody hanging out, I would
<v Speaker 3>know it because you know, I've been there quite a while,
<v Speaker 3>I know the land owner very well, and you know
<v Speaker 3>there was nobody in there. So I decided, Okay, I'm
<v Speaker 3>running the west rest of the way to that ridge
<v Speaker 3>and up over that ridge to my stand, and I'm
<v Speaker 3>getting up in my tree. Years later, I find out
<v Speaker 3>they pushed trees over. I didn't know anything about that,
<v Speaker 3>but I wanted to get up in my tree. It
<v Speaker 3>was the only place I felt safe. So it was
<v Speaker 3>going east, okay, when it was walking and I was walking,
<v Speaker 3>I was going south. It was going east. It was
<v Speaker 3>going out away from me. So when I took off running,
<v Speaker 3>it took off running and started to parallel me. And
<v Speaker 3>when I heard the foot and I heard the thumping
<v Speaker 3>noise of the footfall, and there's like five or six
<v Speaker 3>seconds intervals between each footstep. So I'm thinking in my head, man,
<v Speaker 3>this has got you know, this has taking big strides.
<v Speaker 3>Whatever the heck it is. But it's huge, and it's
<v Speaker 3>parallel to me. As I'm running to my stand, it's
<v Speaker 3>now running south and then all of a sudden, I
<v Speaker 3>hear it get into the swamp and it starts peeling
<v Speaker 3>out east of me as I'm still going south, and
<v Speaker 3>I'm hearing all this splashing like a human running. But
<v Speaker 3>it's but it's huge and thumping. Every time I heard
<v Speaker 3>a footfall, it's thumping. And people ask me, well, what
<v Speaker 3>the thumping sound like? And I said, well, if you
<v Speaker 3>take like a tree and cut it in half, put
<v Speaker 3>an eyelet in the top, put a hook chain on it,
<v Speaker 3>pull it up about twenty feet in the ear, and
<v Speaker 3>drop a tree that's pretty big. When it hits the ground,
<v Speaker 3>that's the noise it makes. It's like a big, huge thump.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't really feel it, but I could hear it
<v Speaker 3>like it was really loud, like it was crashing all
<v Speaker 3>kinds through all kinds of brush and limbs, and everything,
<v Speaker 3>and then I'm hearing the thumping. So I get down
<v Speaker 3>finally over the ridge and I get to my stand
<v Speaker 3>and I'm you know, I dropped my flashlight a couple
<v Speaker 3>of times. I'm nervous. I'm shaking, and it's going from
<v Speaker 3>a run to a walk now and it's running or walking.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sorry. Southeast of me. I'm hearing it out in
<v Speaker 3>the swamp. So I hook my bow and I climb
<v Speaker 3>up my tree. I get my bow up, I thrown
<v Speaker 3>on my bow, Hager hooked my safety Hunterson, and I
<v Speaker 3>sat down and I had all this adrenaline dump in
<v Speaker 3>me that now my hands are shaking violently and I
<v Speaker 3>can't control them. It's almost like being out in the cold.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, you're a hunter when you start getting a
<v Speaker 3>little hypothermia, your hands start to shake, you know, and
<v Speaker 3>you're trying to, you know, warm yourself up. But this
<v Speaker 3>was like so much adrenaline dumped on my body because
<v Speaker 3>I was I mean, this was above being scared. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>this is the first time I ever felt terror in
<v Speaker 3>my life. I mean, here I am in pitch black,
<v Speaker 3>I can't see nothing. This thing's walking like me. Then
<v Speaker 3>it starts running like me, and then I'm hearing these
<v Speaker 3>huge stride thumps. So I'm sitting in my stand with
<v Speaker 3>my face in my hands, saying, what in the heck
<v Speaker 3>is going on? Is this really happening to me? I mean,
<v Speaker 3>what is going on here? I can't believe this, you know,
<v Speaker 3>because I never encountered anything like this, you know, all
<v Speaker 3>the years I've hunted, I've never ran into something like this.
<v Speaker 3>So then I hear it stop stop walking, and there's
<v Speaker 3>a pause. I don't hear nothing. And then all of
<v Speaker 3>a sudden, I start hearing these huge branches being ripped
<v Speaker 3>off a tree. And I'm talking about I mean, it's
<v Speaker 3>so quiet that I'm hearing this popping and cracking, and
<v Speaker 3>it's like pop, crack and twisting of branches one after another.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm thinking to myself, you got to have hands
<v Speaker 3>to do that. Like there's nothing out here. Like I'm
<v Speaker 3>the biggest predator. I mean, I'm two hundred and seven pounds.
<v Speaker 3>I'm five to nine. Okay, I don't have elk. I
<v Speaker 3>don't have grizzly bears where I was, I don't have
<v Speaker 3>bear at all. Really, I don't have any kind of
<v Speaker 3>caribou or moose. I don't have anything from six hundred
<v Speaker 3>to one thousand pounds, and that's what this thing sounded like.
<v Speaker 3>And this thing is tearing branches off a tree. I
<v Speaker 3>mean like it's going to tear the tree down. And
<v Speaker 3>I'm just sitting there in amazement listening to it. And
<v Speaker 3>then all of a sudden, it just went dead quiet,
<v Speaker 3>and I heard a few more steps. Was probably about
<v Speaker 3>seventy five to one hundred yards away from me. I
<v Speaker 3>heard a few more steps in the swamp, and then
<v Speaker 3>it was gone like that. Well, you know, you're a
<v Speaker 3>bowl hunter. I'm a bowl hunter. You know, you sit
<v Speaker 3>out to a certain time in the woods, and then
<v Speaker 3>pretty much when the deer mover game moved through. You know,
<v Speaker 3>if it's something you don't want to shoot, I mean,
<v Speaker 3>you get down, you pack your stuff up, and you
<v Speaker 3>go home and it's another day, or you go back
<v Speaker 3>that evening or whatever. You know. I sit out there
<v Speaker 3>till eleven thirty. I couldn't get down out of my tree.
<v Speaker 3>I was scared to death. And that's not me. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>I've been scared in my life. I think everybody has.
<v Speaker 3>But I was scared to come down out of that tree.
<v Speaker 3>So finally I got up enough bravery to climb down,
<v Speaker 3>get my boat down, climb down out of the tree.
<v Speaker 3>I got my stuff. I went up over the ridge.
<v Speaker 3>I went down that game trail to the two track
<v Speaker 3>up to the landowner's house. I got in my car
<v Speaker 3>and left and went home. And I didn't go back.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't go back for quite a while. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>I was scared to death to go in the woods anywhere.
<v Speaker 3>And I sat home for a few weeks and didn't hunt.
<v Speaker 3>And I was married at the time, and my ex
<v Speaker 3>wife was like, you know, how come you're not going hunt?
<v Speaker 3>And I'm like, oh, well, you know, I can hunt
<v Speaker 3>behind the house if I want to, and I'm just
<v Speaker 3>taking a break on it. And you know, I can
<v Speaker 3>help you out at home, and I'll be here more
<v Speaker 3>for you and the kids. So you know, this went on,
<v Speaker 3>and this went on, this went on, and you know,
<v Speaker 3>I woke up one night about two o'clock in the morning.
<v Speaker 3>I went out in my living room and I was
<v Speaker 3>sitting down and I was thinking about things, and I
<v Speaker 3>thought to myself, you know, I got to go back
<v Speaker 3>over there. I got to get back in the woods,
<v Speaker 3>because if I don't, I'm going to sell everything. And
<v Speaker 3>I'm never going to go back in the woods. And
<v Speaker 3>you know, like I said, you're a hunter. You know,
<v Speaker 3>we have a passion for it. I mean I look
<v Speaker 3>forward to it every year, and you know, it's like
<v Speaker 3>I need to get back in there. You know, this
<v Speaker 3>is what I think it was. I can't. I can't
<v Speaker 3>let this thing run me out of the woods. I've
<v Speaker 3>been doing this a long time, and I'm you know, yes,
<v Speaker 3>I was terrified, but it's like I gotta face this
<v Speaker 3>and get back in there or it's over for me.
<v Speaker 3>So I went back the latter part of December early January.
<v Speaker 3>I went back in there and I hunted for three
<v Speaker 3>more years in there. I hunted from two thousand to
<v Speaker 3>two thousand and three. And over the course of the seasons,
<v Speaker 3>you know, I would go in to hunt, and I
<v Speaker 3>never went in the dark. I never went out of
<v Speaker 3>the woods in the dark. I mean I would go
<v Speaker 3>in at first light where I could kind of see,
<v Speaker 3>and I would come out before the sun went down.
<v Speaker 3>Because it totally spooked me and turned my whole world
<v Speaker 3>upside down. I mean I couldn't. I could not wrap
<v Speaker 3>my mind around it. Running and the paws in the
<v Speaker 3>steps and the thumping. I was hearing and then hearing
<v Speaker 3>the tree branches being broke off a tree. I could
<v Speaker 3>not wrap my mind around that because there was nobody
<v Speaker 3>in there, and I don't have any animals big in there.
<v Speaker 3>I'm it, so you know, I had to go back
<v Speaker 3>in there. So when I got in there and I
<v Speaker 3>started hunting in I would get up in my tree
<v Speaker 3>and at daybreak, I would hear clear out to the
<v Speaker 3>south of me, I would hear a knock, big, huge
<v Speaker 3>knock on the side of a tree. And then about

<v Speaker 3>hear another knock, and you know, I would only hear
<v Speaker 3>one knock, but this would go on for a little bit,
<v Speaker 3>and I heard whoops. In the swamp. I would hear whoop, whoop,
<v Speaker 3>you know, like that, and I'm you know, I'm trying
<v Speaker 3>to look in the swamp. And the swamp was, you know,
<v Speaker 3>it was very thick, like some parts of it you
<v Speaker 3>had to crawl through to get through it. So it
<v Speaker 3>was very thick, so I couldn't see anything. And then
<v Speaker 3>I would hear whistles over the ridge behind me, and
<v Speaker 3>I would hear, see if I can do it. I
<v Speaker 3>would hear this, but it didn't sound like a bird.
<v Speaker 3>It sounded like something trying to intimate, you know, sound
<v Speaker 3>like a bird, and it sounded big, and it would
<v Speaker 3>be loud enough to where I would get up, stand
<v Speaker 3>up in my stand. I would turn around and I
<v Speaker 3>would look past my tree, around my tree. Because I
<v Speaker 3>can only see to the top of the ridge. I
<v Speaker 3>couldn't see down over the ridge. So I would hear
<v Speaker 3>it to the right of me. Then I would hear
<v Speaker 3>it to the left of me. So one would go
<v Speaker 3>and then over to the left of me something else
<v Speaker 3>would go like that. So I'm thinking, Okay, if this
<v Speaker 3>is bigfoot, sasquats, whatever you want to call it, there's
<v Speaker 3>gotta be more than one, because this thing ain't running
<v Speaker 3>back and forth because I would hear it, so there's
<v Speaker 3>gotta be more than one. The tree knocks the whoops
<v Speaker 3>were you know, in the swamp, and I couldn't see it,
<v Speaker 3>but I would hear it in front of me, and
<v Speaker 3>then I would hear it to the right of me.
<v Speaker 3>But I wouldn't hear anything walking in the water. So
<v Speaker 3>it's like, okay, there's got to be more than one
<v Speaker 3>in here. So this went on, you know, this went on.
<v Speaker 3>And the other characteristic is when they were there or
<v Speaker 3>I would hear him, I would hear a whoop, or
<v Speaker 3>i'd hear a knock, or something would whistle over the ridge.
<v Speaker 3>In fact, I thought quite a few times of getting
<v Speaker 3>down and walking up the ridge and just looking over it.
<v Speaker 3>But then I got too leary of it, you know,
<v Speaker 3>because I'd been scared of it. So I was like, Okay,
<v Speaker 3>I'm not climbing down the tree. But you know, the
<v Speaker 3>weird thing is is, you know, this went on and
<v Speaker 3>went on. But when they were there and I would
<v Speaker 3>hear them, I saw no game like I saw no crow,
<v Speaker 3>no birds, no birds chirping. It was dead quiet. I
<v Speaker 3>saw no deer, you know, I didn't. I didn't see
<v Speaker 3>any any squirrel. There were turkeys all over the property.
<v Speaker 3>I mean you you would walk in the woods in
<v Speaker 3>the dark and there'd be two or three turkeys roosted
<v Speaker 3>in a pine tree and they'd take off line and
<v Speaker 3>you know they're they're loud when they take off, and
<v Speaker 3>you know, uh go to fly. I mean, that'll make
<v Speaker 3>you jump in itself in the dark. And I had
<v Speaker 3>that a couple of times happened to me, and my
<v Speaker 3>heart went in my throat. But when they were there,
<v Speaker 3>I saw nothing. I mean I saw nothing. And the
<v Speaker 3>weird thing is, in two thousand and two, I had
<v Speaker 3>a seven point come in. Didn't hear anything from them
<v Speaker 3>all day. Nothing. I thought, well, you know, maybe I'll
<v Speaker 3>see some deer. Seven point came into my baby pile.
<v Speaker 3>I shot it. It ran in the swamp, and I'm
<v Speaker 3>like thinking to myself, oh man, I gotta go in
<v Speaker 3>that swamp and get that deer out. And you know,
<v Speaker 3>I was still lary of it. I was still scared.
<v Speaker 3>So I waited about I don't thirty five minutes. Usually
<v Speaker 3>you should wait about an hour or so. But I'm like, God,
<v Speaker 3>you know, I hit that deer pretty good. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 3>go in and get him. So I went in. I
<v Speaker 3>crawled in some spots and water found the deer. I
<v Speaker 3>didn't have anybody to help me drag it. I grabbed
<v Speaker 3>the deer, started dragging it. So I would take my
<v Speaker 3>bow up twenty yards, grab the deer, go, you know,
<v Speaker 3>drag it up to my bow. Take my bow through
<v Speaker 3>the swamp, you know what I mean, move it up
<v Speaker 3>and so forth. And I started hearing these whoops, and
<v Speaker 3>I would hear him to the right of me, and
<v Speaker 3>I'm looking. I'm trying to look through the brush to
<v Speaker 3>see I couldn't see anything. Then I would hear it
<v Speaker 3>to the left of me. Then I would hear to
<v Speaker 3>the right of me. Then I would hear to the
<v Speaker 3>left of me. To the point where it freaked me out.
<v Speaker 3>I drugged that deer as fast as I could to
<v Speaker 3>my tree and I left it. I didn't field dress it.
<v Speaker 3>I just left it. I grabbed my bow and I
<v Speaker 3>got the hell out of there. I ran up over
<v Speaker 3>that ridge and I got out of there, out to
<v Speaker 3>my car, and I took off. And I'm thinking, well,
<v Speaker 3>that deer ain't gonna be there tomorrow, because if they're there,
<v Speaker 3>they're gonna take it. Because I've heard other hunters, you know,
<v Speaker 3>tell about you know, how they shot a deer and
<v Speaker 3>they followed the blood trail. They went to get a
<v Speaker 3>knife or whatever from the car, come back, follow the
<v Speaker 3>blood trail. They find this huge puddle of blood where
<v Speaker 3>the deer died, and there's no deer, and there's drag
<v Speaker 3>marks and the deer's gone. Well, that could be anything.
<v Speaker 3>Wherever you are, there could be a mountain lion. I'm
<v Speaker 3>not saying a sasquatch, but a lot of guys feel
<v Speaker 3>that it is that's their thing. But I called my
<v Speaker 3>buddy CJ. He's about six four sixty five ways three
<v Speaker 3>hundred and I think fifty pounds at the time. He's
<v Speaker 3>a pretty big guy. And I told him, I said, hey, man,
<v Speaker 3>I shot a seven point I said. I didn't tell
<v Speaker 3>him what was going on, but I said, I'm too
<v Speaker 3>tired to drag it out, and I just got home.
<v Speaker 3>Would you go with me tomorrow and help me drag
<v Speaker 3>it out? He had a nice big cargo van. We
<v Speaker 3>put plastic in it. We got over the homeowners. We
<v Speaker 3>went down there and the deer was still there, not
<v Speaker 3>a mark on it, nothing. It hadn't been moved nothing.
<v Speaker 3>So I told CJ. Grabbing it, or let's drag it
<v Speaker 3>down the trail, up over the ridge, down the trail.
<v Speaker 3>I'm gonna field dress it there. So when we got
<v Speaker 3>down there, I said to him, hey, I want you
<v Speaker 3>to just look around and you know, one hundred and
<v Speaker 3>eighty degrees, three hundred and sixty degrees, just just kind
<v Speaker 3>of look around. And he's like what, I'm like, just
<v Speaker 3>look around? Why field dress this deer? And He's like,
<v Speaker 3>oh okay, And so he's looking up and looking around,
<v Speaker 3>and I'm tearing into this deer and I think it
<v Speaker 3>was the fastest field dressing I'd ever done on a deer.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I was just ripping through it and getting
<v Speaker 3>the internals out of it. And then I said, okay,
<v Speaker 3>I'm done. You know, let's go. I left the guts
<v Speaker 3>and everything there because I thought, I'm thinking, well, if
<v Speaker 3>I leave the guts and everything there, maybe they'll think
<v Speaker 3>I'm gifting and they'll just leave me alone and i
<v Speaker 3>won't hear anything else from them. So I'm going to
<v Speaker 3>leave the heart. Usually I take the heart. I might
<v Speaker 3>take the liver for friends then eat it. But I
<v Speaker 3>just I'm leaving the gut pile. I'm leaving everything here.
<v Speaker 3>And this is what I'm thinking in my mind. So
<v Speaker 3>CJ and I we dragged that deer all the way
<v Speaker 3>up down the trail, up the two track, got in
<v Speaker 3>his van and got down the road. And I'll tell
<v Speaker 3>you what, I never let out such a sigh of relief.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, oh man, you know, I'm sweating and
<v Speaker 3>I'm shaking, and DJ is like, are you all right, man,
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, oh yeah, yeah, I'm fine. It's just, you know,
<v Speaker 3>it was really rough dragging that deer out because that
<v Speaker 3>deer was probably about one hundred and eighty pounds.
<v Speaker 2>It was.
<v Speaker 3>It was a pretty young buck, but it was pretty big.
<v Speaker 3>So we got that out and everything, and then I'm
<v Speaker 3>hunting two thousand and three. I don't really hear a
<v Speaker 3>lot of man anything. It's like everything has dried up,
<v Speaker 3>and I'm like, have these things are laughter? You know
<v Speaker 3>what the heck is going on? Because I'm not hearing anything.
<v Speaker 3>And it was in December and I'm sitting there and
<v Speaker 3>it's starting to get dark, and I'm like, okay, this
<v Speaker 3>is my cue. I got to get down and get
<v Speaker 3>out of here because I know what it's like to
<v Speaker 3>be here in the dark, and I want to get out.
<v Speaker 3>So I got all my gear and I started up
<v Speaker 3>over the ridge down the trail. I probably walked I
<v Speaker 3>don't know, twenty steps and a stone hit me in
<v Speaker 3>the back, and I was like, what the heck. I
<v Speaker 3>took my flashlight and I looked down and the stone
<v Speaker 3>was right next to me, and I'm like I'm trying
<v Speaker 3>to wrap my mind around this now again, Okay, you know,
<v Speaker 3>a stone just hit me in my back. I turned around.
<v Speaker 3>I popped my flashlight on because it was just starting
<v Speaker 3>to get dark, but you know, you could still kind
<v Speaker 3>of see, but a flashlight kind of helps illuminate stuff.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm looking, you know, behind me, and there's nothing there.
<v Speaker 3>And there's a pine tree right next to me. And
<v Speaker 3>I heard that they've gotten up in trees before, and
<v Speaker 3>I'm thinking, man, I do not want to look up
<v Speaker 3>in this tree. I was scared to death to look
<v Speaker 3>up at it. But I'm like, you know what I'm
<v Speaker 3>standing here, I've been hit by a stone the moment
<v Speaker 3>of the truth. So I looked up, pop that flashlight
<v Speaker 3>and I looked up there nothing in the tree. So
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, that's weird, Like how did I just get
<v Speaker 3>hit in the back with a stone and there's nothing there?
<v Speaker 3>So I'm like, screw it. I start walking down the trail.
<v Speaker 3>I walked another fifteen sixteen seventeen steps. I get hit
<v Speaker 3>with another stone in the back, now almost in the
<v Speaker 3>same place. That was the freaky thing for me. It
<v Speaker 3>was almost in the exact same spot. And now I
<v Speaker 3>flip around and I got my flashlight on and I'm
<v Speaker 3>looking real slow everywhere. Now my heart's in my throat
<v Speaker 3>because something just threw a second stone me, and I'm like,
<v Speaker 3>I can't see nothing in here. I don't hear any movement.
<v Speaker 3>I don't see any I mean, I can't see anything.
<v Speaker 3>There's nothing there. And I'm like, how did the stone
<v Speaker 3>fly and hit me? And there's nothing here throwing it?
<v Speaker 3>So I turned back around. I bent down and I
<v Speaker 3>picked that stone up, and I have it today. If
<v Speaker 3>we were on a video thing here, i'd show you
<v Speaker 3>the stone, but I have it to this day. But
<v Speaker 3>I picked it up and put it in my hand.
<v Speaker 3>I walked down to the game trail and I said,
<v Speaker 3>in my mind, okay, guys, this is it. I'm done.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not gonna hunt here anymore. I'm not coming back.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not gonna hunt here. You can have this whole woods.
<v Speaker 3>And I went up that two track, never even said
<v Speaker 3>boo to the landowner. I got in my car, I
<v Speaker 3>took off down the dirt road, got to the paved road,
<v Speaker 3>and I went home and I never went back there.
<v Speaker 3>That freaked me out, you know, more than being in
<v Speaker 3>the dark and hearing the damn thing run. That creeped
<v Speaker 3>me out because I can't explain what it hit me
<v Speaker 3>with the rock. I didn't see anything there, and it
<v Speaker 3>hit me twice, and I have this, I have the
<v Speaker 3>stone to this day.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. So creepy.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's really creepy, man. I've heard some creepy encounters
<v Speaker 3>from people and a lot of different podcasts because you know,
<v Speaker 3>after my second occurrence, I have really been digging deep
<v Speaker 3>into this and listening to other people's accounts. But the
<v Speaker 3>crazy thing was, from two thousand to two thousand and three,
<v Speaker 3>I never told one person. And I know that there's
<v Speaker 3>people out there right now experiencing something either paralleling them
<v Speaker 3>in a wood somewhere, hikers or hunters. They can't see it.
<v Speaker 3>It's throwing rocks at them, all this stuff, and they'll
<v Speaker 3>never tell anybody, because you know, we have these slim
<v Speaker 3>gym commercials Sasquatch and Messing with Sasquatch, and it's like
<v Speaker 3>a big joke, and but you know, supposedly it doesn't exist,
<v Speaker 3>but yet we have commercials about it existing and all.
<v Speaker 2>That's a classic Bigfoot phenomenon or behavior. I guess I
<v Speaker 2>should say.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean, it's just like a big joke. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>when you're in the woods in the dark and there's
<v Speaker 3>no moon, and you're hearing something walk behind you, and
<v Speaker 3>it stops and it's just standing there and it can
<v Speaker 3>come get you anytime at wance, but it's not. And
<v Speaker 3>you're standing there, you know, and it starts walking like me.
<v Speaker 3>You you just I can't uh make this. I guess
<v Speaker 3>I can't get the point across any more strongly that
<v Speaker 3>what I'm doing. It's it's fear like you cannot wrap
<v Speaker 3>your mind around what's going on you because these things
<v Speaker 3>are supposed to be, not supposed to exist. So when
<v Speaker 3>you run across one. I've never seen one. I've heard it,
<v Speaker 3>but I don't know if I really want to see one.
<v Speaker 3>I guess if I was driving down the highway at
<v Speaker 3>seventy five mile an hour and one came up along
<v Speaker 3>the edge of the road as I'm going by, and
<v Speaker 3>I saw it for eight seconds, that would be good
<v Speaker 3>enough for me. I don't know if I'd really want
<v Speaker 3>to run into one, you know, in the woods somewhere
<v Speaker 3>where it's just it and me, and I'm two miles
<v Speaker 3>away from where I'm I have to get out. I
<v Speaker 3>don't know. I don't know if I've heard all kinds
<v Speaker 3>of accounts of people seeing them walk, you know, ten
<v Speaker 3>yards past them and they just look at you and
<v Speaker 3>just keep walking. And some people have gotten paralleled out
<v Speaker 3>and pushed out, you know. But I didn't tell anybody
<v Speaker 3>for three years. And I only told one person, and
<v Speaker 3>that was my soon to be ex wife, and we
<v Speaker 3>were at a child custody hearing and I'd been carrying
<v Speaker 3>this for three years and I just, you know, I
<v Speaker 3>broke down and told her. I said, you know, I've
<v Speaker 3>known you for twenty years of my life. I think
<v Speaker 3>I can trust you, and I need to tell you something.
<v Speaker 3>And I told her the whole thing. And she started
<v Speaker 3>laughing until she seen I wasn't laughing, and she seeing
<v Speaker 3>the look on my face, and then it went from
<v Speaker 3>a laugh to a smile to no smile, and she's like,
<v Speaker 3>you're kidding me, and I said, no, I'm not kidding you.
<v Speaker 3>And this has been on my mind and this, this
<v Speaker 3>whole thing has turned my world upside down. It puts
<v Speaker 3>so much fear and tearing to me that I was
<v Speaker 3>thinking about selling all my stuff and never going in
<v Speaker 3>the woods ever again, because I was that scared, because
<v Speaker 3>I was in a pitch black area by myself. But
<v Speaker 3>something that evidently is a lot bigger than me. And
<v Speaker 3>you know, this thing, like I said, the thumb, it
<v Speaker 3>sounded six hundred and one thousand pounds. It had to
<v Speaker 3>be between seven and nine feet tall because I estimated,
<v Speaker 3>you know, I know a couple of people that are
<v Speaker 3>over six foot. They can't even take a six foot stride.
<v Speaker 3>They can't do a six foot stride. So this thing
<v Speaker 3>has to be over six feet seven and a half
<v Speaker 3>eight feet maybe to do a you know, five and
<v Speaker 3>a half six foot stride, because it's five six seconds
<v Speaker 3>between each footfall I heard, so I know it's taking
<v Speaker 3>big strides. So she's the only person I told. And
<v Speaker 3>then you know, I I went probably twoenty twelve. I
<v Speaker 3>worked at a hospital, so it was about two thousand
<v Speaker 3>and eleven or twenty twelve. I worked at this hospital
<v Speaker 3>in security, and I had a friend that worked there
<v Speaker 3>and he was a Native American, and a lot of
<v Speaker 3>times we would work one weekend, have one weekend off,
<v Speaker 3>and on the weekends we worked together, we would talk
<v Speaker 3>about all kinds of things in the lot because usually
<v Speaker 3>Saturdays and Sundays was a slow time at the hospital.
<v Speaker 3>There wasn't a lot going on. It was a lot
<v Speaker 3>of dead dead times. So we would sit, you know,
<v Speaker 3>jeep to jeep, window to window, you know, talking about
<v Speaker 3>all kinds of things. And I said, hey, I said,
<v Speaker 3>you're a Native American. I said, does your does your
<v Speaker 3>tribe believe in Sasquatch? And he's like, yeah, my whole
<v Speaker 3>tribe believes in Sasquatch. You know, there's a whole history
<v Speaker 3>of Native Americans have an affiliation with Sasquatch, working with them,
<v Speaker 3>the whole nine yards. And I said, okay, well, I
<v Speaker 3>got I got a thing for you. Well, I told
<v Speaker 3>him the whole thing. I told him the whole thing
<v Speaker 3>that happened to me, but I didn't tell him it
<v Speaker 3>happened to me, the whole thing, the stone throwing and everything.
<v Speaker 3>And I said, yeah, that guy picked the stone up
<v Speaker 3>and took it with him. And he said, whoa wait
<v Speaker 3>a minute, dead in the tracks. He stopped. He said,
<v Speaker 3>wait a minute, back this bus up. He said, the
<v Speaker 3>guy picked the rock up. And I said yeah, I said,
<v Speaker 3>I think he has it today. And he said, oh man,
<v Speaker 3>you don't do that. And I said, what do you mean?
<v Speaker 3>He said, you don't touch anything. They touch nothing. He said,
<v Speaker 3>because it it how do he say it? It contacts
<v Speaker 3>you supernaturally to them, and that guy is going to
<v Speaker 3>have another experience with him. They'll find him. This is
<v Speaker 3>what my tribe believes. I mean, you supernaturally connect it
<v Speaker 3>to them. And I'm like really, He's like, oh yeah,
<v Speaker 3>he's like that's what my tribe believes. And you know
<v Speaker 3>what do I know? You know, I'm not a Native American.
<v Speaker 3>I mean that's what his tribe believes. That's what they believe.
<v Speaker 3>So I'm like, wow, that's crazy. He's like, yeah, you
<v Speaker 3>don't ever touch anything they touch if if if, if
<v Speaker 3>you find a tree, break, don't touch it, don't touch
<v Speaker 3>any part of it, don't lift it up, don't look
<v Speaker 3>at it, just don't touch it. I'm like, oh, okay,
<v Speaker 3>all right. And so after that, I got divorced. I
<v Speaker 3>left Michigan. I went and lived in Indianapolis for a
<v Speaker 3>little while, and I met my girlfriend and I moved
<v Speaker 3>up to the northwest corner of Indiana and I started
<v Speaker 3>hunting her mom and dad's property. And it's I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>it's probably about forty five fifty acre woods, maybe a
<v Speaker 3>little bit bigger, and then it's surrounded by field. There's
<v Speaker 3>probably I don't know how many acres of field. It's
<v Speaker 3>about three hundred and seventy three football fields and in
<v Speaker 3>three quarters across the field. It's pretty big property. And
<v Speaker 3>the first year I was gonna hunt it, I always
<v Speaker 3>go and scout where I'm gonna hunt. And I'm walking
<v Speaker 3>through this woods and I'm seeing tree break here, tree
<v Speaker 3>break over here, tree break over here, and I'm like,
<v Speaker 3>there's a lot of tree breaks in here. What the
<v Speaker 3>heck is going on? So I started hunting there and
<v Speaker 3>it was in November twenty fifteen, and I was like,
<v Speaker 3>I don't I can't remember the day. It was like
<v Speaker 3>the twelfth or thirteenth somewhere in there, and Rutt was
<v Speaker 3>on and I saw some deer, but I didn't get
<v Speaker 3>a shot or anything. And the sun was starting to
<v Speaker 3>go down, you know, you get that pink sky when
<v Speaker 3>the sun's just about down. And I'm like, you know,
<v Speaker 3>I got to get out of the woods. So I
<v Speaker 3>get all my gear, climbed down out of my stand,
<v Speaker 3>and there was a big bean field with soybean in
<v Speaker 3>this big field, and then I walked out facing south
<v Speaker 3>and turned right and I was kind of like a
<v Speaker 3>quarter into the field away from the woods, and it's
<v Speaker 3>starting to get dark. So you know, if you're not
<v Speaker 3>a hunter, if you're in the woods, the light escapes
<v Speaker 3>when it gets thirst to get dark. It gets really
<v Speaker 3>dark in the woods. You can step ten feet outside
<v Speaker 3>the woods and you can still see yet because the
<v Speaker 3>sun isn't all the way down, But when you're in
<v Speaker 3>that wood, you can't see anything. So I go a
<v Speaker 3>quarter half out into the field and I start walking
<v Speaker 3>towards the house my mom and dad live at the
<v Speaker 3>end of the property. It's probably, i don't know, like
<v Speaker 3>one hundred and fifty hundred and seventy five yards from
<v Speaker 3>where I was to the house. And I'm walking down
<v Speaker 3>this field and all of a sudden, caddy corner for me.
<v Speaker 3>In the woods, I start hearing these footsteps and they're
<v Speaker 3>big footsteps, like you know, it didn't sound like a
<v Speaker 3>deer or anything. I know what deer sound like. I
<v Speaker 3>know what coyotes sound like. I know what four legged
<v Speaker 3>animals sound like. When deer take off run and they
<v Speaker 3>sound like a horse galloping and they sound pretty heavy.
<v Speaker 3>But you can hear all four hoofs hitting, you know
<v Speaker 3>what I mean. But this sounded like a bipedal person
<v Speaker 3>walking towards me. But it sounded really big, and I'm like, oh, no, man,
<v Speaker 3>not this again. And it's we're going to intercept. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>it's still in the woods, but it's coming right towards me.
<v Speaker 3>As I'm walking towards the house and we're going to intersect,
<v Speaker 3>and all of a sudden, it stops. It stops walking
<v Speaker 3>in the woods and it's just standing there and I
<v Speaker 3>can't see it all I you know, and you know,
<v Speaker 3>when you're outside and it's getting dark and you're trying
<v Speaker 3>to see something, like you're really trying trying to focus
<v Speaker 3>your eyes and see if you can make out anything
<v Speaker 3>in the woods when you're on the outside of it,
<v Speaker 3>because it's just getting dark and you know you're losing
<v Speaker 3>time and you can't see it. So I'm standing there
<v Speaker 3>and it's standing there in the dark and I can't
<v Speaker 3>see it, and I'm just like, do I keep walking
<v Speaker 3>or you know, I'm kind of waiting for something to
<v Speaker 3>walk out. And all of a sudden, I hear this
<v Speaker 3>scream and I mean it screamed at me and I
<v Speaker 3>went down to one one knee. Okay, I didn't even
<v Speaker 3>think to do that. I just reflexed. I had my

<v Speaker 3>get because this thing was really loud, and it stopped screaming,
<v Speaker 3>and I'm over there looking like, I'm thinking, what what
<v Speaker 3>is this? You know? Is this a bigfoot in Indiana?
<v Speaker 3>I mean, come on, in Indiana, you know what I mean?
<v Speaker 3>So it it lets out of yell a second time,
<v Speaker 3>and the second time it was even louder, and it
<v Speaker 3>was so loud that I had to cut my ears
<v Speaker 3>because it was that loud. I actually felt the sound
<v Speaker 3>on my right shoulder and my right chest bent down.
<v Speaker 3>And this thing it, you know, everybody's like, well, what
<v Speaker 3>it sounded like? You know? Other people I talked to
<v Speaker 3>on podcasts are like, what do you what's your best
<v Speaker 3>thing of what it sounded like? And I said, it
<v Speaker 3>sounded like an air raid siren, or it sounded like
<v Speaker 3>a tornado siren. If you've ever done it the park
<v Speaker 3>and you hear a tornado sirens startup, it starts real low,
<v Speaker 3>like a guttural like grawl low, you know, and it
<v Speaker 3>goes to a real high pitch screen. And that's what
<v Speaker 3>this thing did the second time. And I could feel it,
<v Speaker 3>and I'll tell you what. I was like one of
<v Speaker 3>those cartoons where your legs leave before your body. I
<v Speaker 3>was sprinting for my life, I mean, running through that
<v Speaker 3>beanfield as fast as I could run without falling down.
<v Speaker 3>And I got to the backyard of her mom Dad's place.
<v Speaker 3>I threw my bow down on the ground. I was
<v Speaker 3>bent over, breathing so heavy, trying to catch my breath,
<v Speaker 3>and I'm like, Okay, if this is what I think
<v Speaker 3>it is, I'm going to stand right here until I
<v Speaker 3>see it. And I stood there for ten minutes and
<v Speaker 3>no sound. Nothing came out of the woods. No sound,
<v Speaker 3>no nothing, I mean nothing, not another footstep. And I
<v Speaker 3>could hear it walking playing his day towards me, because
<v Speaker 3>there were all kinds of leaves, you know, on the floor,
<v Speaker 3>and it's hard to get in the woods when you're
<v Speaker 3>trying to hunt and there's leaves all over the ground.
<v Speaker 3>You have to walk very slowly. And this thing is
<v Speaker 3>like chump, chomp, chomp, chump. I could hear it coming,
<v Speaker 3>you know, clear back in the corner of the woods,
<v Speaker 3>you know, over probably seventy five eighty yards from me away,
<v Speaker 3>and I could hear it plain as day coming. That's
<v Speaker 3>how I knew it was big. It wasn't a deer,
<v Speaker 3>it wasn't a coyote, because it just sounded too loud
<v Speaker 3>every footfall that came down, and I was like, I
<v Speaker 3>got my gear, I got in my car, and again
<v Speaker 3>I backed out. I didn't even take my hunting clothes off,
<v Speaker 3>and I went home and I told my girlfriend about
<v Speaker 3>two weeks later what happened. I never told her about
<v Speaker 3>Michigan until I told her about that, and it's like,
<v Speaker 3>I gotta tell somebody, like I can't hold this in,
<v Speaker 3>you know, forever. So once again i'm I'm like, I
<v Speaker 3>gotta go over there and hunt. The next year came,
<v Speaker 3>I quit hunting. I didn't hunt the rest of the year.
<v Speaker 3>I stayed home. And next year came and I went
<v Speaker 3>over there and scouted in the summer, and I found
<v Speaker 3>a pretty big tree break. It was a pretty big
<v Speaker 3>tree that had the limbs stacked down and it was hanging,
<v Speaker 3>and you know, I was like, well, you know, it's
<v Speaker 3>either I get in here and hunt or I just
<v Speaker 3>stay home. So I hunted, and then I think it
<v Speaker 3>was I think it was last year. I went to
<v Speaker 3>check my trail cam and I have three big trees
<v Speaker 3>that have limbs, and the limbs are real long, and
<v Speaker 3>they hang down on the edge of the field because
<v Speaker 3>I hunt right on the edge of the field because
<v Speaker 3>the deer will skirt the woods every once in a while.
<v Speaker 3>So I put my stand over there. That's pretty much
<v Speaker 3>where it's been, and I have these trees with these
<v Speaker 3>limbs hanging over and it's like I can't shoot any
<v Speaker 3>deer when they're coming through those two or three trees
<v Speaker 3>because the branches are hanging down in front of them.
<v Speaker 3>I can't get shot to have to wait for them
<v Speaker 3>to get past that in the clearing. And I come
<v Speaker 3>out of the woods after checking my trail cam and
<v Speaker 3>I had them to look up and all those three
<v Speaker 3>big limbs were all tree breaks, and they're right in
<v Speaker 3>front of my stand. I mean right in front of
<v Speaker 3>my stand. They're like spitting distance away, like maybe you know,
<v Speaker 3>ten or twelve feet away, and they're broke so bad
<v Speaker 3>that one limb something had to have grabbed it and
<v Speaker 3>strip the bark on the tree, pulled down on it
<v Speaker 3>and strip the bark on the tree, and it's hanging
<v Speaker 3>by the bark in the tree. And I'll have to
<v Speaker 3>go over there and see if I can take some
<v Speaker 3>pictures and send them to you, Miguel, because it's it's weird,
<v Speaker 3>I mean weird how they're broke and they're all and
<v Speaker 3>I don't know if this thing is telling me to
<v Speaker 3>stay out of there because I broke it right in
<v Speaker 3>front of my stand. I don't know. So I'm interested,
<v Speaker 3>you know, when I get over there this year of
<v Speaker 3>what's going to go on, because you know, deer season
<v Speaker 3>starts for me in a couple of weeks and I
<v Speaker 3>am been over there this year, so I didn't even
<v Speaker 3>put a game trail out. But those trees were broke
<v Speaker 3>like that, and it just it. I can't wrap my
<v Speaker 3>mind around it, because something has to have a hand
<v Speaker 3>not only to break that limb, but pull down on it. Yes,
<v Speaker 3>you know, if you break, if you have a solid
<v Speaker 3>tree and you break at the top, the limb's just
<v Speaker 3>gonna hang. But when you have a branch coming out
<v Speaker 3>off the tree and it's broke down and pulled, that's
<v Speaker 3>totally that's a different ballgame. That's a dry drop the
<v Speaker 3>mic kind of moment. That's something grabbing it with his
<v Speaker 3>hand and yanking down on it. It's not it's not
<v Speaker 3>the force of gravity that limb getting broke with the
<v Speaker 3>wind and then the weight of the limb is just
<v Speaker 3>pulling the bark down. Something pulled down on that. So
<v Speaker 3>that was my experience that I had in twenty fifteen
<v Speaker 3>and what I found in the woods. And then just
<v Speaker 3>this last June, I went out to Vegas with my girlfriend,
<v Speaker 3>out to Vegas area, Nevada. And she's a big gambler.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not. So I've been out there three years and
<v Speaker 3>we try and do something different every time we go
<v Speaker 3>out there. So I was sitting there and she said,
<v Speaker 3>come on, we're gon We're gonna go to Red Rock Canyon.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm like, what's Red Rock Canyon? She said, Oh,
<v Speaker 3>it's just a little north west of Vegas. And she
<v Speaker 3>said it's this big canyon area, all these mountains and
<v Speaker 3>canyons and she said they have wild horses running around
<v Speaker 3>out there and mules and all kinds of stuff, and
<v Speaker 3>she said it's just really beautiful. So we went out there.
<v Speaker 3>We paid twenty bucks to get in, and it's a
<v Speaker 3>thirteen mile loop that you drive with your car and
<v Speaker 3>they have all these stations that you can stop at.
<v Speaker 3>It's kind of like rest areas, so you know, you
<v Speaker 3>can get a water or a pop or you know whatever,
<v Speaker 3>candy bar or whatever, and then are these big deep
<v Speaker 3>canyons that you can walk down into and you can
<v Speaker 3>hike it around a little bit of it. So we
<v Speaker 3>went to the first one and then we went to
<v Speaker 3>the third one. It had a lookout where you could
<v Speaker 3>look out. I took a lot of great pictures, and
<v Speaker 3>it was like sixty degrees fifty or sixty degrees the
<v Speaker 3>whole time we were there. I packed for ninety to
<v Speaker 3>one hundred degree temperatures because that's what it usually is,
<v Speaker 3>so I had was t shirts and shorts I bought.
<v Speaker 3>Froze to death. But when we got out of our car,
<v Speaker 3>it was like a twenty five mile an hour gust. Okay, winds,
<v Speaker 3>just rapid wind and it was really cold, and I'm like, wow,
<v Speaker 3>let's get back in the car. Man. I took some
<v Speaker 3>pictures and like, I've had enough of this. So she's like, well,
<v Speaker 3>let's go over and check it. You know, this station
<v Speaker 3>out here, And we pulled in and there was a
<v Speaker 3>little area where you could hike, and people were coming
<v Speaker 3>off of hiking it and back into the parking lot
<v Speaker 3>and we're like, is this, you know, really far, and
<v Speaker 3>they're like, no, it's just a little area to hike,
<v Speaker 3>and we're like okay. So we walked back in there
<v Speaker 3>and we're walking around, and you know, to set this up,
<v Speaker 3>I'm the type of person when I go somewhere, I
<v Speaker 3>like to explore things, especially if I know that I
<v Speaker 3>may not be there again. I like to take it
<v Speaker 3>all in. And it's like, you know, if I go
<v Speaker 3>to a new property, then I'm gonna hunt for next
<v Speaker 3>year or whatever. I scouted the hell out of it out,
<v Speaker 3>because that's how you're successful deer hunting, you know this.
<v Speaker 3>So we get out there and we start hiking back
<v Speaker 3>in there in the stone and everything, and they had
<v Speaker 3>a pirateglyph on the side of the mountain and it
<v Speaker 3>was all kinds of these figure rings and stuff. I
<v Speaker 3>didn't know what it was. And they had a little
<v Speaker 3>tiny thing that kind of talked about it, and they
<v Speaker 3>didn't really know if it was a tribe of Indians
<v Speaker 3>that came through that put it on there, Native Americans.
<v Speaker 3>They didn't know who it was. And then I started
<v Speaker 3>to hear voices and I'm like, why am I hearing voices? Well,
<v Speaker 3>there was a woman holding a rope and a guy
<v Speaker 3>was climbing the side of the cliff of the mountain
<v Speaker 3>and he was up there pretty high, and I was like, wow, look,
<v Speaker 3>you know, he's climbing up there. I thought it was
<v Speaker 3>really cool. So I'm like, you know what, I'm here.
<v Speaker 3>I'm going to go explore a little bit. And I'm
<v Speaker 3>gonna walk down in this valley here. You know, remember
<v Speaker 3>I said it's real windy. I'm gonna walk down through
<v Speaker 3>this valley here, through this mosquitoe cactus. I want to
<v Speaker 3>see if I can find a tarantula or a scorpion,
<v Speaker 3>or maybe I'll see a rattlesnake or whatever. I'll see
<v Speaker 3>some kind of animals or you know whatever out here
<v Speaker 3>in the desert. So I just start walking north and
<v Speaker 3>my girlfriend's like what are you doing? And I'm like,
<v Speaker 3>I just took my hand and waved it like just
<v Speaker 3>shut up. I'm gonna walk through here, zigzagging. And I
<v Speaker 3>walked probably I don't know, I think one hundred one
<v Speaker 3>hundred twenty five yards something like that. I was pretty
<v Speaker 3>far away from where we were, off the beaten path there,
<v Speaker 3>and I come into this clearing. Man it's a it's
<v Speaker 3>just like a like kind of there's not a lot
<v Speaker 3>of vegetation. It's just a clearing. It's just open and
<v Speaker 3>it's kind of like a round area. And man, the
<v Speaker 3>wind just stopped. There's no more wind, there's no more gusts,
<v Speaker 3>there's no more nothing. It just went dead quiet, just
<v Speaker 3>like it was in Michigan when I first had this encounter.
<v Speaker 3>And in two thousand. Okay, now this is two thousand,
<v Speaker 3>you know, twenty one, and I'm sitting here and I'm
<v Speaker 3>looking at all these rock stackings. I mean, there's one,
<v Speaker 3>there's two, there's three, there's four, and they're perfectly stacked.
<v Speaker 3>But they're like stacked with rocks that you think would
<v Speaker 3>just fall over. Like I don't know how anybody could
<v Speaker 3>do it. I don't think I could stack rocks like that.
<v Speaker 3>I think I think the way these were stacked, I
<v Speaker 3>couldn't get them to be stacked like that. Just the
<v Speaker 3>folkrum of you know, one small rock holding bigger rocks
<v Speaker 3>up without them falling over. And they're perfect, and they're
<v Speaker 3>in a semi circle away from each other. They're pretty
<v Speaker 3>good distance away from each other, but they're just all
<v Speaker 3>right there. And immediately I'm thinking, oh, no, no, no,
<v Speaker 3>I know sasquatch does this. I know they stack rocks
<v Speaker 3>and these were two to two and a half feet high,
<v Speaker 3>maybe three feet high. It was just unbelievable. Again, I
<v Speaker 3>couldn't wrap my mind around it. I just sat there
<v Speaker 3>looking at it, and I started to get this creepy
<v Speaker 3>feeling because it's dead quiet, there's no wind, nothing, and
<v Speaker 3>I get my phone out. I'm like, I'm taking pictures
<v Speaker 3>of this. So I started stamping pictures. Well, my girlfriend
<v Speaker 3>walks out and she's like, what's going on. I'm like,
<v Speaker 3>look at all these rock stackings. She goes, wow, she goes,
<v Speaker 3>that's really neat. I said, no, you don't get it.
<v Speaker 3>I said, this is sasquatch. And she's like, Scott, come on, sasquatch.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm like, I'm telling you right now. I've done
<v Speaker 3>research online. I know about a family that had a
<v Speaker 3>family of Sasquatches on their property. They used to watch
<v Speaker 3>them stack slate rock real high in the air, about
<v Speaker 3>three foot high, and they would gift them and they
<v Speaker 3>would take slate rock and they would stack it and
<v Speaker 3>gift them back. I said, I've read all about it.
<v Speaker 3>I said that they do this, they stack stuff. And
<v Speaker 3>I said, who's going to do this? One hundred and
<v Speaker 3>twenty five yards off of the trail. Who's going to
<v Speaker 3>hoax this? Nobody's going to see this? Who's going to
<v Speaker 3>see this? You know, if I wouldn't walked out there
<v Speaker 3>like a ding dong because I want to explore, I
<v Speaker 3>would have never even known it was there. I would
<v Speaker 3>have never seen it. But who's going to hoax that?
<v Speaker 3>You know, I don't know of anybody that would do that.
<v Speaker 3>If you're gonna hoax something, you're gonna hoax something right
<v Speaker 3>off the trail or on the trail or next to
<v Speaker 3>the trail. You know, if you're going to rockstack and
<v Speaker 3>you're going to pretend or try and figure people out,
<v Speaker 3>that's what you're gonna do, You're not going to do
<v Speaker 3>it one hundred and twenty five a football field away
<v Speaker 3>and have it in a semi circle. I just said,
<v Speaker 3>we need to get out of here because you know,
<v Speaker 3>years later, you know, I'm doing all this research and
<v Speaker 3>I hear people, you know, they see him crawling like
<v Speaker 3>a spider, they see him crawling on their bellies. I
<v Speaker 3>think you had one guy on your show that was
<v Speaker 3>talking about hunting with his dogs and hunting at night
<v Speaker 3>by himself, and he always hunted. He always coon hunted
<v Speaker 3>or whatever by himself, and he took a guy out
<v Speaker 3>in the woods and saw one crawling. Yeah, so I
<v Speaker 3>just told my girlfriend, you know, we need to get
<v Speaker 3>out of here. And the minute we walked back to
<v Speaker 3>the trail, the wind kicked up. It was really it
<v Speaker 3>blew my cowboy hat off my head. It was really windy.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm like, let's just get out of here. So
<v Speaker 3>we got in the car and we drove out and
<v Speaker 3>drove back to the hotel. And so, you know, I
<v Speaker 3>don't really know what I trust on the BFRO, but
<v Speaker 3>I did go on the BRFO and look for that
<v Speaker 3>area if there was any sightings or anything, and nobody
<v Speaker 3>had reported anything. But once again, you know, people see
<v Speaker 3>these things and they don't say anything. They carried around
<v Speaker 3>with them for twenty years before they happened to say something.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't even tell anybody for three years after my
<v Speaker 3>first experience, and then it was quite a few that
<v Speaker 3>a few years after that before I said anything or
<v Speaker 3>told anybody or told you know, my best friend or
<v Speaker 3>you know which he's the guy in Ohio that you know. Wow,
<v Speaker 3>I've been out in the woods for fifteen sixteen years,
<v Speaker 3>and I've never seen one. And I told him today, look, man,
<v Speaker 3>just because you have not seen one doesn't mean they
<v Speaker 3>don't exist. And that's why I've been coming out and
<v Speaker 3>doing podcasts because I want to get my experiences out
<v Speaker 3>and I want I want to share because I want people,
<v Speaker 3>if they're going hiking in a Nashville forest or anywhere
<v Speaker 3>for that matter, to mind your surroundings and keep your
<v Speaker 3>head up, don't look down at your feet when you're walking,
<v Speaker 3>look around your surroundings because you know, I've seen pictures
<v Speaker 3>of Scott Carpenter where he's walking with the camera behind
<v Speaker 3>him and there's one in the woods that he took
<v Speaker 3>a still picture of looking at him and he never
<v Speaker 3>knew it was there. So, you know, I just tell people,
<v Speaker 3>you know, just I don't really say sasquatch, but just
<v Speaker 3>mind your surroundings and be careful and w that's what
<v Speaker 3>you're doing. Because I've watched all the four to one
<v Speaker 3>ones with David Politis, and you know, seventy five percent
<v Speaker 3>of the people that go missing in these National forest
<v Speaker 3>are hunters. They're not people out, you know, taking a
<v Speaker 3>walk or camping or hiking. They're they're hunters and they
<v Speaker 3>just disappear like there's no shred of anything. You know,
<v Speaker 3>if a mountain lion gets you, you're gonna fight it.
<v Speaker 3>Even if it grabs onto you, you're gonna fight. Or
<v Speaker 3>a bobcat or a cougar or a black panther or
<v Speaker 3>whatever you're gonna you're gonna fight for your life. There's
<v Speaker 3>gonna be torn clothes or blood. And when when these
<v Speaker 3>people go missing, there's nothing. You know, small children have
<v Speaker 3>went missing. And then you know, they go up when
<v Speaker 3>they're doing these big search parties, they go up a
<v Speaker 3>mountain three miles and there's the kids. Shoot, how in
<v Speaker 3>the heck did that shoe get up there three or
<v Speaker 3>four miles? That kid didn't walk up there. I can
<v Speaker 3>barely walk up some of these mountains, and I'm a
<v Speaker 3>grown man. A little kid isn't gonna walk three four
<v Speaker 3>year old kids, six seven year old kid is not
<v Speaker 3>going to walk three miles up a mountain, you know.
<v Speaker 3>And then I've seen, you know, some of the documentaries
<v Speaker 3>that David's done where they found some of the people
<v Speaker 3>and they're completely naked, all their clothes are taking off.
<v Speaker 3>They're they're all found by streams or rivers. I've heard
<v Speaker 3>a lot of people see sasquatch around rivers. I don't
<v Speaker 3>know if it's because the river's so noisy and sasquatches
<v Speaker 3>are focused with the water, are drinking or whatever, fishing
<v Speaker 3>or whatever they're doing that they don't they don't. I
<v Speaker 3>guess they just don't know that you're there. They can't
<v Speaker 3>hear you sneak up on them. But I've heard all
<v Speaker 3>kinds of experiences from people, and I think that ninety
<v Speaker 3>percent of the people that are telling their experiences are
<v Speaker 3>telling the truth. And I think a lot of them
<v Speaker 3>don't say anything to anybody for years because they're afraid
<v Speaker 3>people are going to mock them, make fun of them,
<v Speaker 3>think they're crazy. Oh yeah, Scott down the street, you know,
<v Speaker 3>he had experience with a sasquatch. He's a nut, you
<v Speaker 3>know what I mean. But I'm in my fifties now,
<v Speaker 3>so I really don't care. I really I don't. I
<v Speaker 3>don't care what people think anymore. I know what I heard,
<v Speaker 3>I know what I heard scream at me. You know,
<v Speaker 3>I seen the rock stackings, and I think it's all
<v Speaker 3>because I picked that damn rock up. And I think
<v Speaker 3>if I would have never picked that stone up or
<v Speaker 3>whatever that little rock, I don't think. I don't think.
<v Speaker 3>I think my friend it's a Native American. I think
<v Speaker 3>his belief is right. And a couple of my friends
<v Speaker 3>I told they said, well, you need to drive up
<v Speaker 3>to Michigan and go back in that area and throw
<v Speaker 3>that rock down on the ground and leave it and
<v Speaker 3>go home. And I've thought about it quite a few
<v Speaker 3>times because I keep I'm starting to have more and
<v Speaker 3>more of these experiences. And you know, I think that
<v Speaker 3>we are their entertainment. They don't have TV to watch,
<v Speaker 3>so you know, they live in such, you know, hard
<v Speaker 3>areas that they don't have a lot going on. I
<v Speaker 3>think they hunt for their food and all that, but
<v Speaker 3>I think we're there entertainment. So you know, when somebody's
<v Speaker 3>fishing and a big rock gets thrown in the water
<v Speaker 3>and you can't you kind of see where it comes from,
<v Speaker 3>but you can't see what's throwing it. I think they're inquisitive,
<v Speaker 3>and I think they want to see our reactions. I
<v Speaker 3>think when whatever it was that through those two little
<v Speaker 3>rocks at me was watching me. And you know, now
<v Speaker 3>I find out that a lot of them tree hug
<v Speaker 3>and they're on the ground. They're real low to the
<v Speaker 3>ground on their bellies and you're looking up. You're not
<v Speaker 3>looking down, You're looking up in the air for them
<v Speaker 3>standing up being so tall. And you know, I've heard
<v Speaker 3>of them, like I said, about crawling on their stomachs
<v Speaker 3>and you know, crawling like a spider. And I guess
<v Speaker 3>I heard a couple of people say it's just creepy
<v Speaker 3>the way they move. One guy was up in can Or, Alaska,
<v Speaker 3>and he was coming out of his friend's house at
<v Speaker 3>night to smoke a cigarette and he saw one in
<v Speaker 3>the field walking and he said it just collapsed. He
<v Speaker 3>said it was the weirdest thing. It just collapsed on
<v Speaker 3>all fours, you know, not like really fell, It just
<v Speaker 3>kind of collapsed down. And he said it took off
<v Speaker 3>front and he said it was just crazy fast how
<v Speaker 3>fast it was. He said he couldn't he couldn't like
<v Speaker 3>wrap his mind around about how fast it was moving.
<v Speaker 3>He said it was as fast as cheetah. So I
<v Speaker 3>don't know, man, but that's what's happened to me. Those
<v Speaker 3>are my experiences.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I appreciate you sharing it all with us. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, you know, Michigan is notorious. Yeah, Michigan is
<v Speaker 1>known for activity.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. See, I didn't know that either in two thousand
<v Speaker 3>because I wasn't doing research. I was going to bow hunt.
<v Speaker 3>I wanted to deer hunt, you know what I mean.
<v Speaker 3>Even when it got up, first second, I thought, well,
<v Speaker 3>maybe it's a big buck. But you know the deer
<v Speaker 3>that I've spooked that have been betting down in places, dude,
<v Speaker 3>they're gone that. You hear them running and they sound
<v Speaker 3>like a horse galloping. And then when they get down
<v Speaker 3>so far and they know you're a predator, they're snorting.
<v Speaker 3>They light the woods up. Man, they're snorting all over
<v Speaker 3>the place. And when it's quiet and a deer snorts,
<v Speaker 3>that'll spook you. I mean it's loud. But this thing
<v Speaker 3>got up and it took five steps like me in
<v Speaker 3>behind me on that two track, and it was dead quiet.
<v Speaker 3>I get just stood there. I heard branches breaking as
<v Speaker 3>it's walking, and it sounded by pedal and deer. Don't
<v Speaker 3>do that, man, deer take off?
<v Speaker 2>What did you think it was? Initially when it was happening, To.
<v Speaker 3>Be honest with you, a lot of things ran through
