When we say strip clubs, we mean Magic City Nights in Atlanta. We'll explain because the Hawks are up to something. But yesterday we ran out of time.

00:00:30
Speaker 1: Rich.

00:00:31
Speaker 2: We ran out of time every day, which is why we have our bonus podcast, over Promise, which is why you could hear all of it and see all of it on our YouTube channel YouTube dot com slash.

00:00:39
Speaker 1: At Covino on Rich FSR.

00:00:42
Speaker 2: And before you get into all the stuff where we left off, I do want to ask, is there anything more magical than an opening day in kid sports or the bigs? Like when you talk about opening day, your Yankees are going to be part of opening day at Oracle in San Francisco.

00:00:57
Speaker 1: Oh, that's a good one. It's like there's something about.

00:01:00
Speaker 2: There's magic in the air, smell in the air that I don't know they just so special about baseball starting. I still remember flashing it back on a Friday. You know the excitement of a Little league parade, snackshack opening. Yeah, you're holding your little banner and you're holding it up. You're marching with your team, getting all pumped up for the season. Hown's corny, But I could argue that there's nothing more special.

00:01:21
Speaker 1: It's pretty cool.

00:01:22
Speaker 2: I mean, first day of school is always like a thing we like go first day of school.

00:01:26
Speaker 1: But I don't know. Baseball season represents a lot.

00:01:28
Speaker 2: Springtime week one of the NFL, when you're locked into all the games, that's special.

00:01:33
Speaker 1: But something about baseball I don't know what.

00:01:34
Speaker 2: New Beginnings flowery bloom wider breaks. And it all starts this weekend and pretty much next week because we've been harping on it. March fourth is to start Wednesdays, the start of the WBC. We talked about it on our show yesterday. If you missed it, catch to podcast. But it goes from the fourth through the seventeenth. So yeah, this weekend a lot of kids are getting ready for Little League or pony Ball or Babe Ruthlee, whatever the kids are playing. And here's what I'm saying, I think you, as a coach of Little League kids or pony ball kids, I think you should make it mandatory for any youngster out there to watch Team USA and see this stacked lineup and watch all these stars together. I think it'll be great inspiration, great motivation for these kids, and I think they'll win the advantage and watching them win is also inspiring to a little kid. The advantage Team USA might have over arguably even more stacked teams like the dr and Japan their starters.

00:02:32
Speaker 1: I know he said he's only going to go one game.

00:02:33
Speaker 2: I remember Dan Buyer's update saying that Schoobl's got one start in them, Skeens has two.

00:02:39
Speaker 1: How they spread those out? If you got Schoobl and.

00:02:41
Speaker 2: Skiens, which by the way, sounds like a law firm, if you have them pitching for the US and Bennar closing it out, that's a pretty big advantage. Oh yeah, that team's stacked. So if kids are excited about baseball and they're trying on their new cleats and breaking in their glove and putting on their uniform for the first time, get them excited about the WBC. I know that's going to be an awesome tournament to watch for sure. You know's what's funny for me, Dann Byer. You played for one of your teams. You're a Brewers guy. Jeff Soupon runs West Hill's pony Ball, which my kid plays at. And it's hilarious how I deal with this guy all the time and he's become a friend.

00:03:24
Speaker 1: He destroyed the Mets in six and there's.

00:03:27
Speaker 2: A part of me in the back of my mind I'm like, this, mother, you forgave him. Well, I may have, because his greatest moment. So every time I talk to this guy, like your greatest moment was Game seven in the NLCS when the Cardinals beat the Mets. I was a fan in the stands sad. Well, it's a testament to how cool he is in real life if you can put it behind you and like, and you are, you know, the NLCS MVP, And I'm like, yeah, my Mets dreams were roomed by you.

00:03:55
Speaker 3: It does in a weird way. And I think you guys know what, I'll say this on how stupid it is to be a fan.

00:04:01
Speaker 2: It is right, like this guy's like the nicest guy, Like you're the guy that like room is so irrational, but it's what we all are. Can I tell you who said this to Cavino Once we were in a red carpet and it was Antonio Brown before he lost his mind, and who is it at the time, who's that running back?

00:04:23
Speaker 1: It was we were at a.

00:04:24
Speaker 2: Maxim magazine Super Bowl party and Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown were joking around with Cavino at the bar and like, hey, you're still Here's guy is like no, and they said to Cavino, I don't see any other team hang with you right now?

00:04:40
Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you be a Steeler guy?

00:04:42
Speaker 2: And it really rooting for players and people as opposed to teams. And that doesn't mean I don't still appreciate your alliance, but as you grow up, you do start to appreciate certain players.

00:04:55
Speaker 1: Of course, more than the team.

00:04:56
Speaker 2: We spent a full day, We spent twelve hours, Covino and Red doing a drug commercial with Dallas Goddard. I hate the Eagles. I wanted a rant about how I hate Philadelphia. I don't really, but he's such a nice dude.

00:05:10
Speaker 1: But we're hanging with Dallas Goddard and I'm like, how can I not root for the guy?

00:05:13
Speaker 2: Who we like, hung with her twelve hours, had lunch, talked about life and family. Okay to all right, maybe not even root for, but respect certain players even though they're on opposing teams. You like their work ethic, you like their story, You root for them and their success.

00:05:28
Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with that.

00:05:28
Speaker 4: What I I was sam, I was gonna say, I have exclusive audio of Rich of making his feelings known about the Eagles.

00:05:34
Speaker 5: I hate the Eagles, man.

00:05:36
Speaker 2: Man, I was saying, let me ask you, if some dude comes out of Iwall, because you're more of a college guy, you root for him no matter where he ends up.

00:05:45
Speaker 1: I definitely keep track of his career.

00:05:48
Speaker 2: I mean I always wonder that for people that care more about college football, because I wonder, Hey, do you say, well, I'm gonna follow the guys where they play in the NFL if I'm more of a college guy, Like if you're more of an Alabama guy, You're like, yeah, college football way better?

00:06:01
Speaker 1: Do you just sort of track Alabama football players? You have twenty eight favorite teams.

00:06:07
Speaker 4: Right exact Alabama exactly, but like like like Iowa guys, like if a guy goes like the Tennessee Titans, like I'm not pulling for the Titans. I even be like, Oh, Carl Klug, who played there a long time ago. I'm like, oh, you had the six Sacs this year as a reserve. Like I'll look that up, you know, crowd go Carl. All right, Well, hey, just uh baseball. You can smell it in the next of a week till the World Baseball Classic. Then Cavino's Yanks and the Giants start the season in San Francisco.

00:06:32
Speaker 2: And if you're not putting it all together and you're not watching, which you should be, because you could watch, we hear at Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube, Rich's Rock and his coaching gear. Because the kiddos have their opening day game and parade tomorrow, and I'm sure a lot of Little League parents are dealing with the same stuff. So enjoy your weekend. Let's get into it. Remember if you miss any of today's show, the best of the Best of the Week drops tomorrow. Danny G produces it. All of our podcast are at Coveno and Rich, his search Covino and Rich wherever you stream your podcast rate at five stars. And again we're streaming live right now. You know what I think we should pick up where we left off. Yeah, speaking of baseball, your boy, Ryanhambert, the sheepish Lionhambert, Ryan Lambert, Met's picture was a framlin be dazzled kind of guy and put all this weight on. Now he's throwing cheese. This guy's throwing heat. This guy is projected to make possibly the opening day lineup, which, by the way, that's also cool to see not only a kid, but a big leaguer's progression. Like he wasn't throwing heat, high heat, mad Dog Russo style like this. It's cool to see how a player develops. And this kid puts some weight on. Well, the story goes like this, he got cut from his college team and he just wasn't wasn't getting the radar gun up there and he said, I got a beef up like Cavino insinuated his diet to put on the weight and the muscle is ridiculous. Now the guy's throwing, guess, over one hundred miles an hour every pitch. They're saying this is possibly a weapon for the Mets out the bullpen. They maybe didn't even predict. Ryan Lambert. Listen to what this guy eats to put.

00:08:21
Speaker 1: On the weight. I put like ten and a cup at a time.

00:08:24
Speaker 6: Ten for breakfast, drink that, come back after my workout, ten more drink that, and then ten before bed.

00:08:32
Speaker 2: You're putting on a lot of mess. That's a lot of pro He's talking about raw eggs. That's excessive. That's twenty five more eggs than Rocky Malboa eight to start his morning routine. Rocky, as we established yesterday, five eggs to start his workout, to start his montage in the original Rocky nineteen seventy six, five eggs. This guy's having thirty a day. That's a big boy. That's a beefcake. I gotta ask everyone in the room. Has anyone here ever drank a raw egg?

00:08:59
Speaker 1: Isn't it? It's it's dangerous because you get what you do.

00:09:01
Speaker 2: It if I brought an EXX wouldn't be better, right, But Sam.

00:09:04
Speaker 1: I'm sure there's a human resource. But some of them.

00:09:07
Speaker 2: With that, the new ratings period starts, and what if I'm telling you to get pumped up. Everyone in the show needs to step it up. We all need to gain some muscle masks to be the best radio show in the afternoon. You see the most ripped radio show in all the land. If I was like, guys, I'm bringing the raw eggs.

00:09:20
Speaker 1: Can I beef up with beef instead of egging up with egg?

00:09:22
Speaker 2: Well, you need your protein. Eggs are a great source of protein. Sane beef isn't. But yeah, you know what, I wonder what his cholesterol level is. I'm serious, thirty eggs a day.

00:09:32
Speaker 1: That's insane.

00:09:33
Speaker 3: Does the danger of the raw egg get eliminated by the rest of the batter for the blueberry muffin mix because it's still raw egg?

00:09:42
Speaker 1: Right?

00:09:43
Speaker 2: Tell me that not everyone in this room till this day when my wife or daughter kids are making like cupcakes or cake raw.

00:09:51
Speaker 1: Bat that is true. Maybe we have like an immunity to.

00:09:56
Speaker 2: Raw when you mix, when you mix it with powder and flour and the and you know what else this proves too as we flash it back on a Friday, it proves that you know, the game is ever changing and we're forever evolving. Because growing up, dude, if someone was clocking over one hundred miles per hour, that was so few and far between, it was so rare. Now it's like, how are you not hitting over one hundred miles per hour? It just goes to show you that training and workouts have gone to the next level just for everybody in the league. Like there's a similar story on the Yankee side of things. David Weather's son, Ryan Weathers, he wasn't thrown over one hundred miles per hour to start this spring training. Now all of a sudden, they're saying he's thrown over one hundred miles per hour. It's like, and these are young dudes. Look at her all, this Chapman, he's one hundred and thirty seven years old. I mean, look, he's still throwing what one hundred and seven miles per hour. You could argue every one of these young stud pitchers is just you know, to countdown to their first Tommy John it is. I get that, But you know, random dudes, random guys. We're not talking superstars here. Ryan Weathers and Ryan Lambert are not super We're talking about guys that are trying to make the roster. They're throwing well over one hundred miles per hour. Now, that's insanity. Wild Thing Rick Vaughan just for record, wasn't like what did he throw? That's a great trivia question. What did the wild thing throw?

00:11:20
Speaker 1: In the movie? Major League? Because one on one if it was one on one.

00:11:24
Speaker 2: But do you remember that that was like comedly high. Yeah, but it was a progression. Remember it was like, yeah, but that last progression when he struck out the that's my guest, by the way, when he struck out that big fake Yankee. Yeah, that was supposed to be comically fast, like more than a regular big league. Now Ryan Lambert throws harder than wild thing. Rickwong wasn't throwing a hundred is eating thirty eggs, and he's probably got some crazy training that we see online. We see these guys training online all the time. You're are your boy, our boy. Joe Bimele runs a camp who where they do all this stuff. So Ryan Lambert, congrats, he's that dude. But it got us thinking, you know, he's eating thirty eggs a day. We sort of touched on this at the very end of yesterday's show. We got to continue today on our come up. What were some of the fun diet fads or workout gimmicks. So it could be a workout machine, it could be a diet fad, whatever comes to mind. Because we grew up in a time of infomercials and John Bastow's Fitness Made Simple and the Gazale with Tony Little Like we stayed up late watching this nonsense buying ab rollers on infomercials Our Whole Life, And I mentioned this one in the early two thousands. I don't think there was anything bigger than the rage, the p ninety x Tony Horton rage. I think everybody was working out from home or at least trying to give that a go. I mean, I know I did at one point ninety huge I kneople were bootleg in that way.

00:12:56
Speaker 1: I never got.

00:12:57
Speaker 2: Pulled into the CrossFit world, which is like the number one place people have affairs.

00:13:02
Speaker 1: Did you know that CrossFit? Yeah?

00:13:05
Speaker 2: They say a lot of times when a husband or wife goes to CrossFit, I could see like your whole mindset starts to change, you start feeling yourself. I think the two places confident you're working close with other people, two places people cheat the most. And if you're a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, yeah, well you know why, because like you're building community, guys are pushing each other.

00:13:22
Speaker 1: I can see that you're sweating together. What about Farrels? Do people have affairs at Farrells? You guys know what Farrells is. Isn't it like similar to CrossFit? It's like station workouts.

00:13:31
Speaker 2: I don't know that when I know, like Barry's boot camp. For a little while, you and I were both doing orange theory, which a lot of cardios more women do than men. But I don't know if my knees could handle it. It was good to trim up. I feel like it did work. There was a lot of cardio, but yeah, absolutely worked. If you want to get your cardio up and you want to shed a few pounds. Orange theory. So what were those gimmicks you remember? I bought a peloton during COVID.

00:13:57
Speaker 1: Oh that's right now, you hang your clothes on it? Yeah, the Coraq.

00:14:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, so I remember, like my first and earliest memory is a little kid watching my dad exercise what his Peewee Herman workout set and my dad. I always bring this up to Rich and I don't even know if Rich's what I'm talking about when I say it, but he had something in the late seventies early eighties called the Bullworker, and it was just one of those little like home devices where you push it in like you get that chest flex and then you're pulling out, so you're pushing in and then you're pulling those cables out and you're pushing in.

00:14:29
Speaker 1: I remember my dad, like you know.

00:14:31
Speaker 2: My dad was built like a like a stick figure in the eighties, like Ron. He was built like Ron Gidry, Like think of the athletes we admired growing up.

00:14:40
Speaker 1: Your dad was you googled it? The bullworker bow.

00:14:43
Speaker 2: Yes said of Louisiana. Wasn't your dad in New Jersey light My dad was New Jersey Lightning.

00:14:48
Speaker 7: Yeah.

00:14:48
Speaker 2: I weigh one hundred and fifty five pounds, soaking wig ye that skinny Italian guy with his bullworker and his tidy whities five really?

00:14:56
Speaker 8: Uh?

00:14:57
Speaker 2: You know my dad ate one slice of pizza a day. I was in higher meal, didn't you say? For a while your dad's died consisted of black coffee, a pretzel rod, and a slice of pizza, and and a few cigarettes when mom wasn't looking. Yeah, yeah, and three pretzel rods. So what were the fads? The bullworker, the ab roller I definitely had an.

00:15:17
Speaker 1: Years for years.

00:15:20
Speaker 9: Also still in my garage. The ab scissor from body bit Jack. Oh yeah, yeah, you pulled down on the two bars by Jake.

00:15:27
Speaker 2: Had a lot of he had a lot of uh like home workout stuff. And again, you know what they were marketing to a lot of stoners were staying up late at night back in those nineties, in early two thousands days where we were like, yeah, I'm gonna.

00:15:42
Speaker 1: Get that and get in shape.

00:15:44
Speaker 5: Man.

00:15:44
Speaker 1: If Chuck Norris can do it, I could do it. Cavino.

00:15:47
Speaker 2: I remember how to be man easily over five years ago. Now Cavino got a little too thin. He did Keto, which is not a fat it's just more of a diet plan. But when you went to it worked. But I remember there were two things you joked about. Keto breath. Well it was the thing. Hey you get a little stank breath, but you looked, you look you lose weight. You get keto head too. You know what that means? Like where like your neck and head are all like nothing's balanced out.

00:16:13
Speaker 1: A bubble head.

00:16:14
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I look like a big fat head on a skinny neck. Like I lost too much weight too quick. But I did drop a significant amount of weight. You know what I did that too? Aut of pure vanity because Rich and I were on ESPN and I was like, I'm on ESPN, I don't want to be the chubby Vato that everyone sees every night.

00:16:31
Speaker 1: And I lost weight quick.

00:16:32
Speaker 2: So it works if you stick to it, but then you gain everything back if you if you don't stay committed.

00:16:39
Speaker 9: I thought, well, I was going to say rich one of the og crazes of the eighties. She sold seventeen million videos in eighty two through ninety.

00:16:47
Speaker 4: Yeah.

00:16:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, is it Suzanne Summers with the thigh Master.

00:16:50
Speaker 9: No, No, the other big titan in the industry, Jane Fonda.

00:16:55
Speaker 1: I had thigh Master written down. I thought, for sure, you're gonna say thigh mass.

00:16:58
Speaker 2: You know what's interesting, I'd like to think whether people go or not, so many adults own a gym membership.

00:17:04
Speaker 1: You may not go, you may go.

00:17:06
Speaker 2: But I would I would think a majority of adults at some point owned the gym membership when we were kids. Of course, there's gonna be exceptions. There'll be people like my mom or dad worked out, but our parents your dad may have had twenty five pound dumbells in the garage and where your mom did like some VHS video in the in the living room. Mom put on her let's get physical Olivia Newton John outfit and maybe hit jacq Laine like.

00:17:29
Speaker 1: Twice, like the Jacqueline Power Juicer. I was obsessed with that. I bought that for my parents.

00:17:33
Speaker 2: It's a it's a you know, I say it respectfully, but a fat right, Like everybody went through that phase. Everybody. We have a buddy that swears by and I don't know if it's healthy. He'll tell you it is the carnivore diet where all you eat is meat. So like there's there's trends, there's gimmicks, some work, some don't.

00:17:53
Speaker 1: People swear by these things, so let's let's hear about them.

00:17:55
Speaker 4: If you look up some of these people like did the what's the uh it's like someone's name is a diet?

00:18:01
Speaker 1: What are you thinking about here? Atty?

00:18:03
Speaker 4: If you look up some of these folk carbs who made or like came up with these diets. A lot of them like didn't live They lived in like their sixties and seventies. They didn't live into their eighties and nineties. Jack Laine lived into his nineties because he was an original, like uh, bodybuilder back and.

00:18:15
Speaker 1: Jaqueline doing like one hand push ups.

00:18:17
Speaker 2: He was like pulling cars, Jack Palard, Oh that's Jack Pallarina. But jacqu'layne was always like doing physical activity on talk shows and showing off how strong and in shape he was for an old guy. So your memories. You know what else is a big fat, too rich in our come up. I'd say early two thousands up until not too long. I guess yeah, I feel like I'm reading your mind. Okay, because he still does a class that one of the moms at the.

00:18:42
Speaker 1: School, I'm thinking of a piece of equipment.

00:18:44
Speaker 2: Oh, I was gonna say, there's a mom at the school that asked my wife asked my wife to go with her.

00:18:49
Speaker 1: Do you want to go?

00:18:50
Speaker 2: Because he does personal classes again Billy Blanks, I'm Tiebowki like ty.

00:18:55
Speaker 1: He lives in the valley.

00:18:56
Speaker 2: He still does classes out here, Billy Blanks, which that infomercial aired non stopping. He got a shout out from what akon kicking it Lacktop. People were kicking it like time bo I took a I was one of the old guys I took I took rex Quondo to stay.

00:19:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, I was more into martial arts, didn't.

00:19:12
Speaker 8: Sir.

00:19:12
Speaker 3: Mix A lot mentioned Jane Fonda workout tapes by Fonda.

00:19:18
Speaker 2: In the back of your Honda and I kind of don't want none. I don't know the name of it, but the contraption that goes over your doorway to do pull ups I think everybody had.

00:19:30
Speaker 1: Yeah, you know the pull up bar that goes over your doorway.

00:19:33
Speaker 2: Can I can I give you guys an embarrassing how many people like fell off that thing or ripped off the molding of their doorway with that. I have an embarrassing story during COVID, you know, when we're all trying to work out, and you know you're trying to do something at home that's bought the Peloton did all that. I bought resistance bands that you could like attached to a door. Yeah, and stupid me, this is embarrassing. You could just say you yeah, you we made me okay, Rich Davis. I didn't realize that it has to be in the direction of the door that doesn't open, meaning like if it's a closet door, you can't do it on a closet door. You need to do it on a door where the resistance. Oh man, you know what I'm saying, Like, am I describing a crack like you're pulling it? Like if it's closed, you got to pull it closed. Yeah, right, Yet it has to be in the direction of the door naturally closing.

00:20:24
Speaker 1: Right.

00:20:25
Speaker 2: I did it in the direction where the door would open. So I'm doing, like I got the resistance bands.

00:20:29
Speaker 1: I'm doing like this thing snaps and hits me in the head. I fall to the floor.

00:20:36
Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, my wife thought, She's like, yes, is that what happened to you? I feel like I feel like you're a weird guy, like for the past five six years, and that's probably it.

00:20:47
Speaker 1: He's never been the same, but it was.

00:20:49
Speaker 2: Honestly, I likely got a mild concussion. I remember laying on the floor like, why am I so dumb? I didn't realize you had to do it?

00:20:57
Speaker 1: Is it?

00:20:57
Speaker 4: Anthony Richardson this past season the same enjoy the resistance band It like hit him in the eyeballs, like the injured list. Because of that, those things are dangerous tooth. I find resistance bands, not the ones you put up to your door, but just regular resistance bands.

00:21:11
Speaker 2: They're useful if you're traveling a lot, right, so you could just put them in your bag, get a quick pump on slip it hits them in the balls, yes, yes, but they're fun to travel with because atrophy kicks in quick again. We're talking fitness gimmicks and diet fads that we've grown up with. And when we say gimmicks and fans, we're not saying it from a negative place. Some of them were weak, but some of them are legit too. We're bringing this up because Ryan Lambert of the Mets is on this thirty eggs a day routine and he did put on some masks and he's throwing heat.

00:21:43
Speaker 1: Now.

00:21:43
Speaker 2: So what are some of those diet gimmicks and fads that you tried out that you remember eight seven to seven ninety nine them. I'm sure there's athletes in all sports that have some type of concoction they eat or drink before every game, or some type of you know, rhythm, some method. I'm sure. Speaker 2: You're telling me Ryan Lambert almost he says many eggs as Gaston.

00:24:13
Speaker 1: No one's coolest Guston.

00:24:15
Speaker 2: In fact, if I ever have a son, I think I might name him Gaston. He's like, what a strong masculine name. Then Gaston Cavino doesn't ring to it.

00:24:23
Speaker 1: It has a ring to it.

00:24:24
Speaker 2: Right, You can see him. You could be playing for the Yankees now, Budding Gaston Covino, i'd you dope. I didn't know what number to assign him, and Yankees retired most of them, so they're retiring C. C.

00:24:36
Speaker 1: Sabathia And like I love CC. Yes, yes, yes, Captain Crunched Sabathia worthy or no?

00:24:42
Speaker 2: And I hate to say it, he's a whole fame. Okay, you want a World series with the Yanks and No.

00:24:46
Speaker 1: Nine.

00:24:47
Speaker 2: People don't realize what's the fun fact. It's actually Captain Crunch Sabathia. Yeah, that's why he wore his pajamas on the mount Live from the Fox Sports Radio studio. Have you ever wiped through the piece of dry turlet paper and wondered?

00:24:59
Speaker 1: Is this is good? A it gets?

00:25:00
Speaker 2: It's not switched to life changing wet extra large fleshable dude wipes because wetter just cleans better.

00:25:06
Speaker 1: You know, always talks about dude wipes. Our buddy Drew from Nashville.

00:25:09
Speaker 2: He always smells minty and chay Shae buttery fresh.

00:25:13
Speaker 1: How do you get so close?

00:25:14
Speaker 2: Available on Amazon and major retailers nationwide. Dudewipes best clean pants down now, Rich's boy, we're getting you fired up for baseball. Riches Boy, Ryan Lambert Young Mets pitchers trying to make the team, trying to make the teams, eating thirty eggs a day.

00:25:31
Speaker 1: He beefed up.

00:25:31
Speaker 2: Now he's throwing cheese, he's throwing cheddar, he's throwing heat, high heat. He's throwing gas over one hundred miles per hour now, and it just got us thinking, like, thirty eggs a day, it's ridiculous.

00:25:45
Speaker 1: So what have you done to get in change? What have you done? Gimmick wise? You know, yots workout equipment, Like we've.

00:25:51
Speaker 2: Seen all this evolve, right, Like I remember in the early mid nineties when the protein bars started to boom, and how terrible metrics bars tasted. And now we have these barbells that taste better than snickers, bar bell bars, protein bars twenty one grams of protein or whatever, and they taste delicious. But back then, let me tell you, I lived the struggle, and I acquired the taste of those old school terrible metrics bars. For years, old school protein bars tasted like cardboard. Like you said, now at the gym, you would turn me onto something there they look like pop tarts.

00:26:27
Speaker 1: Where those new ones too, David bar where are they? David?

00:26:30
Speaker 2: What's the one you it's like a pop tart. They're also good protein pop tarts. So we've come a long way. But what are those gimmicks? You know you said back when you were a kid, your dad had the bullworker moms and dads in the eighties might have been doing, you know, Jane Fonda or JaQuel Lane. The fitness world has come a long way, and the diet fed world has come a long way with keto and carnivore. And you know, back in the day, I remember weight watchers and Atkins. We've all tried something. But if you want to ask Jenny Craig and.

00:27:00
Speaker 1: Craig was one. Oh my, my mother in law is all about Marie Callendar. Wasn't that one too? Wait?

00:27:05
Speaker 2: Watchers? Who's her name? Susan Powder was a fitness person. Richard Simmons deal e meials like we've seen it all, So which one factor?

00:27:16
Speaker 1: Which ones are? Didn't Rich used to sweat to the oldies? Are you like, come home me back? Who the who? That hew? You Brent? Those love handles? Oh? Sorry, you know what, Let's go to Manny.

00:27:30
Speaker 2: You know sometimes I feel the vibes to the phone, Manny Camino fell your vibe.

00:27:33
Speaker 1: Sorry, dude, what up? Manny?

00:27:35
Speaker 5: Oh well, no, I remember that Richard Simmons to the oldies. They would play those videos for us at an elementary school for Pete sometimes. So there's this little Penny TV with like fifty kids there and we're all you can hear is Richard Simmons.

00:27:48
Speaker 8: Come on.

00:27:48
Speaker 5: Everybody twist and shouting. There's everybody's twist and shouting. You know, even Jubby Checker came out to one of those videos.

00:27:55
Speaker 2: You made me think of two things, and I appreciate you, Manny. Thanks eight seven seven ninety nine Fox. There's a misconception is a Mandela effect at Richard Simmons. Anytime someone is Richard Simmons for Halloween, they always rock a headband. And Richard Simmons, I think you're confusing with John McEnroe or something. He never really wore a headband. But anytime someone's like I'm a pony, I'm a pony and twisting and shouting, dealing a meal, they wear a headband. He didn't wear head bands. Paulie Short portrays him on social media. I don't know if you've ever seen that. He's trying to make a movie about him, and he also made me think of he says during recess when he when he was a kid, they would watch it. Does everybody or does anybody remember Slim Goodbody as a kid. Slim Good Body, Sam, you remind me of Slim Goodbody. Look him up. He's like the fitness cartoon. He wasn't a cartoon. He was the guy that wore a body of the body. Should you see the muscles and bones? They would show us his videos when we were kids all the time. Slim Good Body, Know what you're talking about? He would teach you try to stay healthy?

00:28:55
Speaker 10: All right?

00:28:56
Speaker 1: Who else do we got? Let's go to Virginia and Neil Virginia. What's up? Neil?

00:29:03
Speaker 5: I love you guys.

00:29:04
Speaker 1: Oh you know man, Let's go what do you got? Thank you man?

00:29:07
Speaker 8: I got man. The most inappropriate one is the shake.

00:29:11
Speaker 5: Way from like the late two thousand.

00:29:14
Speaker 8: Is inappropriate. U.

00:29:15
Speaker 1: Let me tell you. I felt that.

00:29:17
Speaker 2: I felt real big into that. I felt that for every like local newswoman who had to do like a demo and then went viral because of it, Like, let me what do I do with this? Richard Forearms got really big? I remember intive. Yeah, I think it works.

00:29:29
Speaker 1: Definitely.

00:29:29
Speaker 2: The shake way looks kind of silly. That is funny, man, shake waight do anything or what? I'm sure it did? No, it was, Yeah, it worked, shake way.

00:29:37
Speaker 1: Can I tell you what? How about this one? I can only demonstrate it.

00:29:40
Speaker 2: I can't really describe it here if you're watching on YouTube Covinder Rich FSR. I think it was a tony little gimmick where you're.

00:29:47
Speaker 9: Like all the sliding back and forth.

00:29:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, heavyweights, heavyweights, they were doing it. Remember Ben Steller's U Yeah, you're right Tony sliding around?

00:29:58
Speaker 1: Is that his character name? I got it. I got asking you just do that the whole show. Please, just the whole show.

00:30:03
Speaker 2: I bet you in between every commercial you should do that the whole commercial break.

00:30:06
Speaker 1: You'll be ripped. I don't know why.

00:30:09
Speaker 2: I can't be the only one whose grandparents in their basement had some weird.

00:30:14
Speaker 1: Thing like a belt they put around them. And what did that do?

00:30:18
Speaker 2: Does anyone make your fat off? It was like it was like a belt that went around, Like didn't your grandfather used to get hit the belly with a cannonball. It was the vibration. So I actually think that does work.

00:30:28
Speaker 4: And when people will get into that box where like steam your body from the neck down.

00:30:32
Speaker 1: Work Try to this works?

00:30:33
Speaker 2: Rich and I again, Rich and I, Danny, we've all worked in radio, Dan Bayer say it forever, right. So people would often picture products to us or send us freebies promotional items. Hey talk about this. One time, Rich and I got perfect push ups in the mail and I still have those, and I swear and stand by them because a push up is also is great by itself, but the range of motion you get from perfect push up really is good.

00:30:58
Speaker 1: That is imby need I turn a little bit.

00:31:01
Speaker 2: And then there's other ones where you have the little you put them in the pegs or whatever. But could I those push up things really do help? Here's what I gotta do. I want to go to Dan Byron now because I have an embarrassing Covino story and I have my first ever workout. I have audio. We'll get to that, but dB, what's doing guys? The Dallas Cowboys.

00:31:20
Speaker 3: You're placing in the non exclusive franchise tag on wide receiver George Pickens. Teams have until Tuesday to place the franchise tag or transition tag on players. Pickens would make more than twenty seven million dollars if he signs the tag and plays under it in twenty twenty six. Teams have in the player have until mid July to come to terms on a long term agreement. Pickens also would have to sign the tag to play under the deal. Today at the NFL Combine, potential number one overall pick, Fernando Mendoza cut off with Colin Coward just kidding you just spoke with the media to about the possibility of joining the Raiders and Tom Brady. Tom Brady, I believe it was the greatest quarterback of all time buy a wide margin, and to be able to have the opportunity to be mentioned by him, it would mean so much. Another NFL news, the salary cap for next season is going to be three hundred and one million dollars, up twenty two million from last season. Spur center Mason Plumbley sound a deal with the team to the rest of the season. Cavs guard James Harden questionable to face the Pistons tonight. Donovan Mitchell's out for that game. 00:32:39
Speaker 1: What do you want to know? Hey, Colin?

00:32:41
Speaker 2: Do you feel bad for stealing Fernando Mendoza from Covino and Rich at all? No?

00:32:45
Speaker 1: I didn't.

00:32:46
Speaker 10: I don't feel bad. This is big boy media and Fernando Mendoz is the number one pick story right now, so you go get the quarterback. Covino and Rich are grinders. I respect them, but super Bowl Week is chaos and guests pivot. Blame the reps, blame the scale, you all blame the circus. And by the way, if Mendoza is that detail obsessed humble, I'm unemployed guy. He fits Las Vegas like a glove. Real talk, do you buy Mendoza?

00:33:11
Speaker 1: Okay, real talk? I blame real Talk, Colin. I still blame Colin.

00:33:15
Speaker 2: All right, So we're gonna take your phone calls, and Rich is gonna tell us you know how he got so ripped as a kid.
