<v Speaker 1>it's a the lawns a little crowded right now. We
<v Speaker 1>we had some antennas on the roof, couldn't anyway, It's
<v Speaker 1>a parking thing, sleighs, reindeers. What's that smell? Oh, somebody
<v Speaker 1>had chili for lunch out there? I think who was that?

<v Speaker 1>I don't Oh, okay, oh that's nutty. Thank you for
<v Speaker 1>being here. I just can't say it enough. But how
<v Speaker 1>is it like, I mean, are you just are you
<v Speaker 1>busy every day of every year of or just I
<v Speaker 1>mean the elves, I mean the working the workshop. I
<v Speaker 1>can't imagine.
<v Speaker 3>Well, it is certainly busy, and it takes all year long.
<v Speaker 3>A lot of people don't realize this but we are
<v Speaker 3>preparing for Christmas all year long, for the big day.
<v Speaker 3>And as soon as we added this whole dynamic of
<v Speaker 3>the social media's as they call it, well now it's
<v Speaker 3>added upon us even more work.
<v Speaker 1>My goodness, Wow, that's true. Well, you've got a strong
<v Speaker 1>work ethic, even though technically you only work one day
<v Speaker 1>a year. A lot of prep, a lot of prep.
<v Speaker 3>This guy, news, my friend, Oh news, that's true.
<v Speaker 1>I love it. Well, you know, I was just wondering,
<v Speaker 1>you know, have you ever visited the one hundred acre Wood?
<v Speaker 3>Certainly, certainly we've taken a few strolls through through the
<v Speaker 3>hundred acre Woods. A delightful place. But thankways, on Christmas.
<v Speaker 2>Eve, oh yes, and I was hoping to get a
<v Speaker 2>smackrel or two of honey this year, as opposed to
<v Speaker 2>you know, every other year that I had a smarckrel
<v Speaker 2>of two of honey.
<v Speaker 3>If I recall going back on those wish lists, it
<v Speaker 3>hasn't changed very much through the years.
<v Speaker 2>No, but it's nice to have a few honey pots
<v Speaker 2>on reserve. Absolutely, and tiggers have very bounty springs because
<v Speaker 2>you never know when you might need a little extra bounce.
<v Speaker 1>It's a dead right center.
<v Speaker 3>Certainly, my friends, certainly, thank you.
<v Speaker 4>I have a question for you, Sanna, Yes, how many
<v Speaker 4>elves do you have working for you up in the
<v Speaker 4>north This is a two parter, actually, how many elves
<v Speaker 4>do you have working for you in the North Pole?
<v Speaker 4>And what is the strangest request you've ever gotten for
<v Speaker 4>a Christmas gift?
<v Speaker 3>Well, I'll answer the first question. I always will direct
<v Speaker 3>you to missus Claus if we're dealing with numbers, if
<v Speaker 3>we're dealing with the organization of the workshop, well, she
<v Speaker 3>is the one to be able to ask all of
<v Speaker 3>those things. Do you know what was her idea to
<v Speaker 3>make a list? And she said, Santa, I think you
<v Speaker 3>should check it twice.
<v Speaker 1>I see. Well, that way you know who's naughty ort
<v Speaker 1>And the other question, my friend, what was the other one?
<v Speaker 4>What was the strangest request that you've gotten for a
<v Speaker 4>Christmas gift? Well?
<v Speaker 3>I seem to recall a little one. I was visiting
<v Speaker 3>in a hospital and he came up to me and said, Santa,
<v Speaker 3>I have just one wish. I want a working rocket ship.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my goodness.
<v Speaker 3>A working rocket He wanted to see the stars.
<v Speaker 1>I believe that's really so did he get it? Well?
<v Speaker 3>It's something that we're still working on on the technology.
<v Speaker 1>What was that sound? I heard something above?
<v Speaker 3>I think that was Jimmy right.
<v Speaker 1>There, not this one, the other one. Man, that's crazy,
<v Speaker 1>she's she's well, now, you've been in this business for
<v Speaker 1>a good long time, A very very long time. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>he said, it's so much better than I now.
<v Speaker 3>I was also looking at my records, and I was
<v Speaker 3>also seeing, Jim that you have You have credits alongside
<v Speaker 3>your name that say Santa Claus on a few projects.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, I suppose so. I mean, for for a while there,
<v Speaker 1>it seemed like every year I would get one job
<v Speaker 1>imitating you. And don't ask me why they didn't call
<v Speaker 1>your agent? Did you you have an agent?
<v Speaker 3>It's a very busy time.
<v Speaker 1>Oh well that's true, that's true.
<v Speaker 3>But you did a wonderful job.
<v Speaker 1>Well, uh, I guess you could say I'm Santa Light.
<v Speaker 4>Light Jim, I you know this. What did you play
<v Speaker 4>Santa Claus in?
<v Speaker 1>Well, there have been a couple of serial commercials and
<v Speaker 1>I always ended up doing something sort of for the
<v Speaker 1>Super Bowl, the prep for it, and uh, I've done
<v Speaker 1>a few hosts, but I mean, I can't compare to
<v Speaker 1>the man with the plan. You know, I'm just just
<v Speaker 1>Santa Light.
<v Speaker 4>You have like a Santa voice that you could give
<v Speaker 4>us that you go to for it? Or is it
<v Speaker 4>always different?
<v Speaker 1>Well, no, it's it's pretty much all the same. And
<v Speaker 1>I always worry that it sounds a bit a bit
<v Speaker 1>like Pete from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
<v Speaker 3>But very interesting.
<v Speaker 1>How you do it there, pal.
<v Speaker 2>Ol, Rudolph, get over here, you little nut, and past
<v Speaker 2>the sugar cube.
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to make some tea.
<v Speaker 3>That was definitely something wonderful thing.
<v Speaker 1>I can't can't even compare to you the man.
<v Speaker 3>You also did an animated an animated special rite that
<v Speaker 3>was based on Frank Baum.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, yes, years ago, and I actually was a couple
<v Speaker 1>of reindeer as well.
<v Speaker 3>Wonderful.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Do you remember the reindeer?
<v Speaker 1>I do, well, I was Rudolph one year and then gosh,
<v Speaker 1>I can't remember. I think it was blitzing, blitzing delightful reindeer. Yes, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I couldn't agree more he was that year. Anyway, I'm
<v Speaker 1>not sure. My daughter on on Chico On.
<v Speaker 3>We haven't added him to the lead team yet. Yeah
<v Speaker 3>he's still.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, well, yeah, he's a chihuahua. Is probably not the same.
<v Speaker 1>But U but my gosh, it's it's so wonderful. Now,
<v Speaker 1>do you have a regimen that you you store up
<v Speaker 1>your energy, follow the energy? Well, because it's one not
<v Speaker 1>a year. But it's a heck of a night certainly.
<v Speaker 1>Well do you know what a lot of people say,
<v Speaker 1>how is it possible to do it all in one night?
<v Speaker 1>And I let them know it's actually doesn't happen all
<v Speaker 1>in one night. Oh.
<v Speaker 4>Do you know?
<v Speaker 3>We have individuals that celebrate at different times around the world.
<v Speaker 3>There are some countries even celebrating on the sixth of January. Interesting,
<v Speaker 3>it's wonderful.
<v Speaker 1>Wow.
<v Speaker 4>Do you know the reason behind that? Sorry to interrupt you.
<v Speaker 3>Well, it's just the celebrations. There are traditions and cultures
<v Speaker 3>celebrate at different times, so.
<v Speaker 4>It gives you a little time to get the work done.
<v Speaker 3>It It is always a wonderful thing. Now, the majority
<v Speaker 3>still is on Christmas Eve, but there are some countries
<v Speaker 3>that receive their gifts on Christmas Day.
<v Speaker 4>That's interesting. I did not know that.
<v Speaker 1>Well, yeah, I'm a traditionalist. I still like to, you know,
<v Speaker 1>do it on Christmas Day. Yeah, wonderful, And I gotta
<v Speaker 1>believe you've got to get a lot of help from
<v Speaker 1>the elves, because I mean the stockings alone, come on,
<v Speaker 1>they're hung by the chimney with care.
<v Speaker 3>In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, that's you.
<v Speaker 3>Know, that's a delightful poem. And we do not use
<v Speaker 3>my name at all in that poem. The original title
<v Speaker 3>of the poem was a visit from Saint Nicholas.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And do you know that they changed a name of
<v Speaker 3>the reindeer in the poem later on on that song
<v Speaker 3>of your friend Rudolph.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, my gosh, so it used to be Lenny, right.
<v Speaker 3>It was Lenny.
<v Speaker 1>How did you know, Jim, It just took a wild guess.
<v Speaker 3>Well, we have the two reindeer that originally were written
<v Speaker 3>in the poem as as blixam right, blickdunder and blixam.
<v Speaker 1>Oh sounds like a law firm.
<v Speaker 3>And certainly it goes back to Dutch and German, which
<v Speaker 3>means thunder and lightning. And then later on it was
<v Speaker 3>written as Donder and then in that song on Rudolph
<v Speaker 3>he changed it to Donner.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, so this.
<v Speaker 3>Wonderful reindeer has three different names. Isn't that delightful?
<v Speaker 1>That is well, he's got a lot to answer for
<v Speaker 1>it dinner time.
<v Speaker 4>That's how you know he's important because he has three names,
<v Speaker 4>like a Daniel D. Lewis or a Michael J. Fox wonderful.
<v Speaker 4>That's three names.
<v Speaker 3>I've gotten used to it. Some people call me Santa Claus,
<v Speaker 3>but some people will call me Saint Nicholas. In Italian
<v Speaker 3>they will say babbo natali they do my goodness in Finland?
<v Speaker 3>Do you know what they called me? There?
<v Speaker 1>Something finish? Yolupuky Well, neither am I? Neither are you.
<v Speaker 1>I don't even know what you don't know? Pooky? Okay, well,
<v Speaker 1>I'm glad to not be a pooky wonderful.
<v Speaker 4>Since I have another question for you, if you don't
<v Speaker 4>mind wonderful, what is your favorite part about Christmas? And
<v Speaker 4>actually this is this can be for you as well too, Jim.
<v Speaker 4>What is your favorite part about Christmas?
<v Speaker 3>Would you like to go first?
<v Speaker 1>Well, sure, if you, if you wish. I think for me,
<v Speaker 1>it's always been the lightning of the spirit. And it
<v Speaker 1>seems to be universal. You know, you people beep less
<v Speaker 1>at you at the red lights, a little bit less,
<v Speaker 1>you know, it depends. I mean, I'm sure in New
<v Speaker 1>York hasn't changed much but it's just nice to know
<v Speaker 1>that everybody is literally getting in the spirit of the season,
<v Speaker 1>and everybody gives everybody a little break, and it's just nice,
<v Speaker 1>you know. And I think there's that song it's the
<v Speaker 1>most wonderful time of the year, So maybe it is.
<v Speaker 3>I think it is. My friend and I and mine
<v Speaker 3>is very similar to yours. I love that the world
<v Speaker 3>becomes a little less selfish, that there's more effort in
<v Speaker 3>thinking of the needs of those in need. I think
<v Speaker 3>it's a wonderful thing. There's more kindness involved. It's it's
<v Speaker 3>also more of a thought. We're thinking about things we
<v Speaker 3>can do in the moment, actions to help in our communities,
<v Speaker 3>the world, our neighbors, our family. It's a wonderful thing.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, well said, very well said God, my goodness said,
<v Speaker 1>thank you Santa.
<v Speaker 4>I'll share mine too, if you guys don't mind.
<v Speaker 3>Absolutely.
<v Speaker 4>This is more of an experience though growing up. So
<v Speaker 4>I grew up in Canada, and in Canada usually around
<v Speaker 4>Christmas time there's some snow, and so when I moved
<v Speaker 4>to la when I was a teenager, it blew me
<v Speaker 4>away for some reason in my little developing mind that
<v Speaker 4>people would still put up like Christmas trees and Christmas lights,
<v Speaker 4>because to me that was so associated with snow, and
<v Speaker 4>then you just see like all these lights and trees
<v Speaker 4>and it still kind of gives that atmosphere. I agree
<v Speaker 4>with you guys. It's like, you know, it really is
<v Speaker 4>like there's more friendly people. It's not like everybody is all,
<v Speaker 4>you know, peaches and carrots. But it's a nice time
<v Speaker 4>of the year. It's nice and cozy and spending time
<v Speaker 4>with family, of course, that's always great. You know.
<v Speaker 3>In delivering gifts, we start out in the South Pacific
<v Speaker 3>and in through New Zealand and Australia, and so for
<v Speaker 3>some people Christmas is certainly a time for winter and snow.
<v Speaker 3>But there are also wonderful places around the world, like
<v Speaker 3>Australia that they are in the middle of summer that
<v Speaker 3>they might open up their Christmas presents and then they
<v Speaker 3>might go for a swim on the beach.
<v Speaker 1>Wow. Well they do that in Hawaii too, I would imagine, certainly, Wow,
<v Speaker 1>that's not bad. Now that that kind of reminds me
<v Speaker 1>of a question I was I've often wondered, uh, And
<v Speaker 1>I understand if you have to kind of, you know,
<v Speaker 1>smudge the answer a little bit concerned, Jim, I'm concerned.
<v Speaker 4>Where do you vacation?
<v Speaker 3>Well, here's the thing. We try to go somewhere in January,
<v Speaker 3>after all of the gifts.
<v Speaker 1>Have been delivered, give us exhausted.
<v Speaker 3>It is a wonderful time to rest. And sometimes sometimes
<v Speaker 3>a wonderful cold place is good. But we typically will
<v Speaker 3>go somewhere nice and warm. This year we're going to
<v Speaker 3>the Mexican Riviera.
<v Speaker 1>Oh see, that sounds very good at least. Oh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>there's fleas on your dad. When that came out, I
<v Speaker 1>was a little kid. I thought, there's fleas on my dad?
<v Speaker 1>What you know? But it's it's not quite the same.
<v Speaker 1>It's a little better in actual Spanish.
<v Speaker 4>Certainly, do you ever get recognized while you're on vacation.
<v Speaker 3>Everywhere that I go? Certainly, I try to be a
<v Speaker 3>little sneaky about it, but there's always someone that will
<v Speaker 3>come up and say, Santa, is it you?
<v Speaker 1>What do you have an answer? Do you? Do? You
<v Speaker 1>let them in?
<v Speaker 3>If you come and stop me while I'm out and
<v Speaker 3>about in the world, there might be something that I
<v Speaker 3>will hand you to confirm a little special gift, a token.
<v Speaker 1>MM, a token of your extreme there it is, that's wonderful.
<v Speaker 1>That is wonderful, Santa. Do you have you ever gotten
<v Speaker 1>just tired of it?
<v Speaker 3>Frustrated?
<v Speaker 1>Frustrating, grumpy, grumpy Unsanta?
<v Speaker 4>Ish.
<v Speaker 3>Well, here's the thing I have, missus Claus, that will
<v Speaker 3>often remind me, Santa, remember that you're Santa.
<v Speaker 1>M Well, she's got a point. She's got you on
<v Speaker 1>that one.
<v Speaker 3>I think it's important. But I think this is quite normal.
<v Speaker 3>Is we all experience different emotions, and some of us
<v Speaker 3>will will feel grumpy and frustrated and angry and sad.
<v Speaker 3>All of these emotions are important and they all work together.
<v Speaker 3>We're able to identify and appreciate the happy and the
<v Speaker 3>joyful times, and and we also have the contrast in
<v Speaker 3>our life. This is the part of life that is normal.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm not I'm not, No, that's true. I'm not
<v Speaker 3>able to not experience all of that.
<v Speaker 1>You're not immune to the whole experience. Yeah, well, why
<v Speaker 1>that that speaks well of your heart and you're you're
<v Speaker 1>you're grounded. Try my behind. I mean I talk about
<v Speaker 1>one of a kind. I mean, there's there's only one you.
<v Speaker 3>Well, I I have seen quite a few people that
<v Speaker 3>look very similar.
<v Speaker 1>Well, okay, yes, they're.
<v Speaker 3>All spreading positivity and cheer.
<v Speaker 1>That's true. I was one I often wondered. You know,
<v Speaker 1>there are different TV shows that come out every Christmas,
<v Speaker 1>whether it's a Wonderful Life or oh gosh, what's the
<v Speaker 1>one at the Miracle Miracle on thirty fourth Street. That's
<v Speaker 1>a good one. But the one that comes out with
<v Speaker 1>the little fella that goes up to Santa and what's
<v Speaker 1>the name of that that I can't think of it
<v Speaker 1>right now, that's terrible. And it's in gimbals or it's
<v Speaker 1>in Cleveland.
<v Speaker 3>Miracle on fourth Street.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but it's no, it's the one that it's in color.
<v Speaker 1>Oh god, that's terrible. We'll edit this out because somebody
<v Speaker 1>is gonna But it's the one where no, it's it's
<v Speaker 1>with the kid that gets Darren McGavin's in it, and
<v Speaker 1>it's in Cleveland and he gets in a fight with
<v Speaker 1>a bully and it's a very Christmasy show. Oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna remember it and we're all going to go,
<v Speaker 1>oh that one. It's the one with the he's grown
<v Speaker 1>up now, but he narrates it and he says, back
<v Speaker 1>when I was a little kid, my old man was
<v Speaker 1>Christmas story a Christmas Story. I think that Christmas story is.
<v Speaker 3>The one where that individual in the red suit kicks
<v Speaker 3>him down the slide. Yes, my goodness, I would never know.
<v Speaker 1>No, you'd have just thrown him right out the top.
<v Speaker 4>Just kidding, Santa. Who's your favorite actor portrayal?
<v Speaker 3>You know, I have many, depending on what it's for,
<v Speaker 3>But I would say my very favorite in temperament and
<v Speaker 3>in feel would be Richard Attenborough.
<v Speaker 4>Nice.
<v Speaker 3>He really approached it almost like a grandfatherly figure. M hmm,
<v Speaker 3>and not so grumpy as some nice Now. I had
<v Speaker 3>the opportunity to visit with mister ed Asner when he
<v Speaker 3>was filming Elf, and he certainly approached it in a
<v Speaker 3>little more grumpy way. They all do a wonderful job. Yes,
<v Speaker 3>I think it's wonderful to see how they've twisted and
<v Speaker 3>changed a little bit here and there. Yeah, and every
<v Speaker 3>filmmaker wants to put there. Oh sure their fingerprint on
<v Speaker 3>it as well.
<v Speaker 1>Absolutely well. Ed Asner, God rest his soul. He was
<v Speaker 1>an old buddy of mine. Now we're wonderful individual. Work
<v Speaker 1>with him many times, and I have a mini confession
<v Speaker 1>to make. He had a song to sing in that
<v Speaker 1>movie about you, and they came up to me and said,
<v Speaker 1>Ed wants to know if you will sing for him
<v Speaker 1>a Santa and I said, well, of course, of course,
<v Speaker 1>I do absolutely anything. Are you kidnapped? I love this guy,
<v Speaker 1>and so I sang the song and about a week
<v Speaker 1>later I saw him at the next session and this
<v Speaker 1>is true story here and he comes up. He goes, well,
<v Speaker 1>hi Santa, and I go hi, and he goes, I
<v Speaker 1>heard you had a good time singing and I said, well, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you know, thanks for the guy. He goes, what do
<v Speaker 1>you mean. He goes, well, they told me that you asked, well,
<v Speaker 1>let Jimmy do it. He can sing blah blah blah.
<v Speaker 1>And he goes, they told you it was my idea
<v Speaker 1>and I said, yeah, it wasn't and he goes, no,
<v Speaker 1>excuse me, I got to make a phone call. And
<v Speaker 1>he went over and grabbed a hold of the producer's
<v Speaker 1>ear and didn't let go until it was well chewed. Wonder,
<v Speaker 1>let's just put it that way. So so you're you're
<v Speaker 1>well represented. I think that's the moral of that story.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure.
<v Speaker 4>Wow, Jim, we're hearing some really first time stories here
<v Speaker 4>on the podcast.
<v Speaker 1>Well, yes we are.
<v Speaker 4>Who would have thought we just got to do a
<v Speaker 4>Christmas episode.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, absolutely, we should do one every year.
<v Speaker 4>We should.
<v Speaker 1>There it is, Yeah, are you busy next to Oh
<v Speaker 1>you're probably Christmas. Oh we'll see, we'll see, okay, but
<v Speaker 1>of Christmas for sure, certainly, certainly for Christmas. So we'll

<v Speaker 1>giant Coca Cola bottle cap. And I still remember to
<v Speaker 1>this day thinking, Wow, that's a big bottle cap. And
<v Speaker 1>and you were great, you know, and and uh, it
<v Speaker 1>was just amazing. And and do you I just have
<v Speaker 1>to ask, do you really take a bite or two
<v Speaker 1>of because I personally have left out some serious grub
<v Speaker 1>for you over the years. Are you do you just
<v Speaker 1>in the night and you're just exhausted and stuffed.
<v Speaker 3>Well, we are moving at such a speed that metabolism
<v Speaker 3>was working a little different. Oh, which is a wonderful,
<v Speaker 3>very important thing.

<v Speaker 3>And the traditions of the world are quite different and
<v Speaker 3>unique and diverse, so some places might leave our cookies,
<v Speaker 3>some might leave out a bowl of porridge. Some might

<v Speaker 1>Oh that's lovely, and maybe the occasional cactus sometimes sometimes,

<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but you know you were speaking on your memories
<v Speaker 3>as a child. This is one of my favorite things
<v Speaker 3>of Christmas that we do not have so very much
<v Speaker 3>in our lives, that that attached to all of our
<v Speaker 3>senses in the way Christmas does. Yes, we can smell Christmas,
<v Speaker 3>we can hear Christmas, we can see Christmas, and we
<v Speaker 3>can have all of those memories. And it just takes
<v Speaker 3>a little bit of a something like a like an
<v Speaker 3>advertising standie and then you're remembering your childhood, which is
<v Speaker 3>a wonderful thing.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, or going to church and I smell that
<v Speaker 1>there's a certain Christmas incense and there's always a tree
<v Speaker 1>in there and you get that evergreen smell, and all
<v Speaker 1>is right with the world. Yeah, wonderful. Yeah, all is
<v Speaker 1>right with the world.
<v Speaker 4>My grandma makes these pumpkin rolls, and oh they are
<v Speaker 4>so good.
<v Speaker 3>Like say more, my friends say more.
<v Speaker 4>Oh, it's just amazing, they're so good. I don't know
<v Speaker 4>how they're so good and like she freezes them and
<v Speaker 4>then lets them thought to the perfect temperature, like they're
<v Speaker 4>like room temperature, but the icing is still kind of frozen.
<v Speaker 4>M and ooh it's yeah.

<v Speaker 3>My goodness, well, the naughty list, the nice list, the
<v Speaker 3>list in general, it continues on through life. It does,
<v Speaker 3>it certainly does. But we are most focused on the
<v Speaker 3>children for gifts. And I will tell you here's I'm
<v Speaker 3>going to give you the secret. Kindness is at the
<v Speaker 3>center of it. If we are kind to others, in
<v Speaker 3>those around us, and we put forth an effort to
<v Speaker 3>be kind to ourselves, that's also a very important thing,
<v Speaker 3>an effort to be kind to ourselves. When we are
<v Speaker 3>looking in the mirror. What are the words that we say.
<v Speaker 3>I hope that everyone watching is saying kind words and
<v Speaker 3>nice words, since you're kind to yourself, because you deserve it,
<v Speaker 3>my friends, and you deserve it as well, Jim, Oh, well,
<v Speaker 3>no matter what they say, that's a wonderful thing.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah. And I really think that's such an important message
<v Speaker 4>to send out these days. You know, it's we get
<v Speaker 4>so bombarded by a lot of negative things, and you know,
<v Speaker 4>a lot of a lot of our capitalistic nature as
<v Speaker 4>a country, you know, stems kind of on you know, negativity.
<v Speaker 4>It draws more views, it draws more you know, add
<v Speaker 4>money and all that, all that stuff, and which is
<v Speaker 4>a shame.
<v Speaker 3>It's all around us. And I look at children now,
<v Speaker 3>and if they just open their eyes, they see negativity.
<v Speaker 3>They see negativity all around them. And I try to
<v Speaker 3>encourage everyone to take a moment each day to stop
<v Speaker 3>and to try to calm the noise and think of
<v Speaker 3>the good things in life and to be thankful. We
<v Speaker 3>have to, we have to be able to do that.
<v Speaker 3>And and I say, as we we start to do this,
<v Speaker 3>and we do it more and more, we get better
<v Speaker 3>at identifying these things as well.
<v Speaker 1>So true, that's very well said.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's easy to forget, like all the things that
<v Speaker 4>you have, you know, it's it's like a hard fallacy
<v Speaker 4>to fall into, you know, like obviously, you know, you're
<v Speaker 4>better off it in one aspect of life than most
<v Speaker 4>of the world, you know, in the country that we
<v Speaker 4>live in. Yeah, you know, like we have it better
<v Speaker 4>than most most countries in the world by default. So
<v Speaker 4>it's hard to be like, oh, you know, why don't
<v Speaker 4>I have this, why don't have that? And just based
<v Speaker 4>off what you're saying, Santa, it's like, I think it's
<v Speaker 4>really good to self reflect and you know, I have family,
<v Speaker 4>you know, I have a career. Whatever, you know motivates,
<v Speaker 4>you have friends. You know, I had a really good
<v Speaker 4>meal today something like that. You know, it's different for everybody,
<v Speaker 4>but I think that's important, like you said, to reflect
<v Speaker 4>on that, and it's hard to do sometimes.
<v Speaker 3>It's certainly hard to do.
<v Speaker 4>Sometimes they do.
<v Speaker 3>Now you know that I have the content that I
<v Speaker 3>make for the social medias, and and as I'm visiting
<v Speaker 3>and traveling around the world and doing wonderful things, well,
<v Speaker 3>it's always a positive and fun and joyful thing, but
<v Speaker 3>we have to also take a moment and pause and think.
<v Speaker 3>For some individuals, the Christmas season is the opposite of that. Yes,
<v Speaker 3>sometimes for some individuals it can be a very dark time.
<v Speaker 3>Sometimes it's a reminder of individuals that they have lost
<v Speaker 3>in their lives. So we have to keep our eyes
<v Speaker 3>open for those around us and be recognizing those individuals
<v Speaker 3>that they might need some care and kindness and love.
<v Speaker 4>You know what movie I love that focuses on that
<v Speaker 4>topic is Eight Crazy Nights with Adam Sandler, and it
<v Speaker 4>talks about you know this Adam Sandler's it's an animated
<v Speaker 4>movie for those who haven't seen.
<v Speaker 5>It, celebrating the Honkka season, celebrating Hankkah wonderful and it's
<v Speaker 5>just kind of about this, like, you know, he's like
<v Speaker 5>the town bum and like he's like middle aged and
<v Speaker 5>hasn't really done anything with his life, and like.
<v Speaker 4>He's he's almost like a personification of the Grinch, you know,
<v Speaker 4>because he can't stand everybody is so happy and lively
<v Speaker 4>around him, and he feels miserable in his life. And
<v Speaker 4>you know it's through people that are close in his
<v Speaker 4>life and care about him in his life enough to
<v Speaker 4>you know, battle through this this stigma that he's going
<v Speaker 4>through where he sees like the you know, true Honica
<v Speaker 4>spirit at the end. And I always like that movie.
<v Speaker 4>It gets a lot of it gets a lot of hate,
<v Speaker 4>but I like it.
<v Speaker 2>Well.
<v Speaker 3>Adam is certainly on the nice list. He has been
<v Speaker 3>for very long. What a wonderful if wonderful individual. I
<v Speaker 3>had an opportunity to visit with him once, cool funny
<v Speaker 3>guy too, very very funny, and I reminded him, do
<v Speaker 3>you know that some of my very favorite Christmas songs
<v Speaker 3>were written by Jewish composers. It's a wonderful thing.
<v Speaker 1>That's a beautiful thing, most wonderful time.

<v Speaker 4>with any other celebrities.
<v Speaker 3>Quite a few through the years, and they've met with you,
<v Speaker 3>And I think it's a wonderful thing. Some of them
<v Speaker 3>are very interesting when you're meeting with someone you know
<v Speaker 3>is on the naughty List. We will not mention any names.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, my goodness, none are in this room though, right,

<v Speaker 3>as often as I can, as a lot of people
<v Speaker 3>will thank me, a lot of people will give me accolades.
<v Speaker 3>But it is not just me. There's so very many
<v Speaker 3>people that work behind the scenes at Christmas, and I
<v Speaker 3>will say that the very top of the list is
<v Speaker 3>Missus Claus. She does so very much to allow me
<v Speaker 3>to do things like even be here for the podcast.
<v Speaker 3>I'm always thinking, you know, we have a tradition at
<v Speaker 3>the North Pole that after all of the gifts have
<v Speaker 3>been delivered, there Missus Claus is waiting for my return.
<v Speaker 3>She can hear the bells of the sleigh as I return,
<v Speaker 3>and there she is waiting. She's prepared a most wonderful
<v Speaker 3>feast for Christmas Day. It's a wonderful thing. But she
<v Speaker 3>is holding a little gift, and I have one gift
<v Speaker 3>left as well in the sleigh. This is our tradition
<v Speaker 3>that we create something by hand for each other, and
<v Speaker 3>I will give her the gift after she's given me mine.
<v Speaker 3>She always receives the last gift of Christmas, a celebration
<v Speaker 3>in honoring her for.
<v Speaker 1>All of her efforts. What a beautiful tradition, certainly, and
<v Speaker 1>who better than Missus Claus to get the very last Christmas.
<v Speaker 3>Gift, the final one. It is the finale.
<v Speaker 1>That's that's really sweet, It really is.
<v Speaker 4>Speaking of sweet, do you we have a lot of
<v Speaker 4>young listeners out there, possibly listening with their parents, watching
<v Speaker 4>with their parents. Do you have any advice for the
<v Speaker 4>young kids out there, Sansa.
<v Speaker 3>For all of the little ones that are listening right now,
<v Speaker 3>I will give you a few little tips, a little
<v Speaker 3>little bit of advice.
<v Speaker 1>Are you ready, I'm ready, We're all here.
<v Speaker 3>Well, I tell everyone, make sure that you're not forgetting
<v Speaker 3>to brush your teeth. Make sure that you're not forgetting
<v Speaker 3>to clean up and pick up your toys. It's very
<v Speaker 3>disheartening for the elves to work so hard at creating
<v Speaker 3>brand new toys that they know we'll go into messy rooms.
<v Speaker 3>Keep the rooms clean, my friends, and make sure that
<v Speaker 3>you're listening to your grown ups. A very important thing.
<v Speaker 3>But remember the very most important thing, and we've mentioned
<v Speaker 3>it a few times today, is kindness. Be kind, be
<v Speaker 3>kind to others, be kind to yourself.

<v Speaker 3>able to visit with. It is what is your very
<v Speaker 3>favorite Christmas memory from childhood?
<v Speaker 1>Hmm, but I've got so many of them. One one
<v Speaker 1>of my favorite Christmas memories from childhood is being completely
<v Speaker 1>snowed in, could barely get out of the house. I
<v Speaker 1>thought that was the greatest thing in the world. You know,
<v Speaker 1>my parents not so much because they were stuck with me.
<v Speaker 1>And then I remember we're probably weren't the richest people
<v Speaker 1>on the block or anywhere else. But I remember being
<v Speaker 1>tickled pink and it was before I was in grade school,
<v Speaker 1>and I got I got a ball, and I got
<v Speaker 1>a coloring book and a little crayle of crayons thing,
<v Speaker 1>and I think there were eight crayons in it.
<v Speaker 3>And it was a small pack.
<v Speaker 1>It was a small pack. It wasn't the big one
<v Speaker 1>with the with the sharpener in it. But I remember
<v Speaker 1>thinking that that was the greatest gift ever. And it
<v Speaker 1>was probably the cheapest, but you know, it had so
<v Speaker 1>much heart in it, and my parents were very sincere,
<v Speaker 1>and you know, they did their best, and then it
<v Speaker 1>was just great and I was one of my favorite
<v Speaker 1>Christmas is ever.
<v Speaker 3>And do you know that that gift also was filled
<v Speaker 3>with creativity, which we see you've brought into the rest
<v Speaker 3>of your life moving forward.
<v Speaker 1>Well that's true. Well, good observation, Thank you, Sanna. Wow,
<v Speaker 1>very true.
<v Speaker 4>Do you mind if I chime in on this answer?
<v Speaker 4>Like the question you have made me think of a
<v Speaker 4>great memory. Yes, it's always been a great time for me.
<v Speaker 4>It's kind of been like me and my brother's Christmas
<v Speaker 4>traditions to play video games on Christmas. We would typically
<v Speaker 4>get one of the new systems on Christmas from our dad.
<v Speaker 4>And there was one Christmas. Oh man, I was maybe
<v Speaker 4>like twelve years old, eleven or twelve years old, and
<v Speaker 4>for some reason, we didn't think we were getting anything
<v Speaker 4>that year. Like it was like, I don't know, my
<v Speaker 4>dad kept a really good secret from us.
<v Speaker 3>I guess were you feeling you were on the naughty list?
<v Speaker 4>No, not at all. It was just kind of like,
<v Speaker 4>you know, our dad was very very generous to us,
<v Speaker 4>you know, and he bought us a lot of toys
<v Speaker 4>throughout the year. So I mean, I know, you give
<v Speaker 4>us the toys, but you know, you might have given
<v Speaker 4>him a pass. And it snowed. It was my first
<v Speaker 4>white Christmas in Vancouver and it snowed. It was snowing
<v Speaker 4>on the day of Christmas, and I was like, oh yeah.
<v Speaker 4>We went outside, we had some snowball fights, made some
<v Speaker 4>snow men perfect and then we came inside. Boom, all
<v Speaker 4>these presents We're like, no way. We start opening him
<v Speaker 4>up PlayStation two and me and my brother went nuts.
<v Speaker 1>We were like no way, Like.
<v Speaker 4>We couldn't wait to start playing it. And then we're
<v Speaker 4>opening more, opening more stocky stuffers, open another one, another
<v Speaker 4>PlayStation too, and we were losing our minds. We couldn't
<v Speaker 4>believe it. It had just come out that year. It
<v Speaker 4>had just come out that year, so you guys can
<v Speaker 4>do the math, however old and we could not believe it.
<v Speaker 4>We're like, why why is there two? And then he's
<v Speaker 4>like one for the living room and one for the
<v Speaker 4>theater room and we were.
<v Speaker 1>Like, yeah, baby, forget about it.
<v Speaker 4>And then I think we played for the rest of
<v Speaker 4>that day, right, And this is back. This is back
<v Speaker 4>when people actually had to go to the store to
<v Speaker 4>get these systems, and there was like pretty much Black
<v Speaker 4>Friday lines outside of the mall, you know, wrapping around
<v Speaker 4>to wait in line for these things. It was all
<v Speaker 4>the hype back then.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, wow.
<v Speaker 3>You know a lot of people will ask me what
<v Speaker 3>is my very favorite gift to make m and I
<v Speaker 3>always go to the traditions, the classics, a wooden train,
<v Speaker 3>a spinning top, some that was simple, but the children
<v Speaker 3>around the world would wish.
<v Speaker 1>For and hope for.
<v Speaker 3>And now it seems as Chris is even demonstrated that
<v Speaker 3>the little ones are wanting electronicles. Ipadd my goodness, they're
<v Speaker 3>very difficult to make. We can never make enough of them.
<v Speaker 3>So this is this is always what I plead for
<v Speaker 3>parents that are listening, for all of those electronicles, I
<v Speaker 3>want them to come from you. You be able to
<v Speaker 3>do that if you can, and I will try to
<v Speaker 3>maybe possibly do some of the fun simple toys once again,
<v Speaker 3>wouldn't it be wonderful?
