<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, Welcome to Game This Morning's presented by Deku
<v Speaker 1>Deals with Me, Jeff Grubb, your host from giant bomb
<v Speaker 1>dot com. Thank you for tuning in. In this episode,
<v Speaker 1>we're gonna be talking about vampires crawling and Nintendo banning
<v Speaker 1>bikini suck you by because it's Friday and nothing.
<v Speaker 2>Means anything anymore.
<v Speaker 1>It's gonna be a good one because we have John
<v Speaker 1>Martin on the show. John, how are you doing?
<v Speaker 3>I'm doing fantastic, Jeff, how you doing?
<v Speaker 2>That's good?
<v Speaker 1>It's uh yeah, Like I said, ready for some weird
<v Speaker 1>Friday news.
<v Speaker 2>It's not that weird, but there's some interesting tidbits in there.
<v Speaker 1>Ready to ready for the weekend. I'm I'm gonna try
<v Speaker 1>to really play some games this weekend. I'm gonna, like, uh,
<v Speaker 1>I think I'm gonna try to do a thing where
<v Speaker 1>I block out a large chunk of time for playing games,
<v Speaker 1>and then within that chunk, John, I'm going to block
<v Speaker 1>out like I'm gonna spend an hour and a half
<v Speaker 1>on this game and an hour and a half on
<v Speaker 1>that game, and I'm gonna try to spread out the
<v Speaker 1>love a little bit and then maybe coming out of that,
<v Speaker 1>it's like well, maybe I want to spend more time
<v Speaker 1>with Death Stranding too, or more time with one of
<v Speaker 1>these other games. Silent Hill f will be one of
<v Speaker 1>those games, So let's catch up time. And I want
<v Speaker 1>to just get at least my fingers on a few
<v Speaker 1>more games before we start having these conversations giving up
<v Speaker 1>the idea of beating a lot of these games. But
<v Speaker 1>I'm okay with that as well. That's usually how things
<v Speaker 1>go in November. Yeah, how are you doing otherwise?
<v Speaker 3>I'm doing well. Yeah, I can't complain. It's been a
<v Speaker 3>little cold, so have the excuse of being able to
<v Speaker 3>stay inside. And yeah, watch shows, watch movies, play games.
<v Speaker 3>So I've been doing a lot about that lately. And yeah,
<v Speaker 3>like trying to gather thoughts on end of the year games,
<v Speaker 3>like there has been so much coming out. Been looking
<v Speaker 3>at a lot of different lists. I've watched a bit
<v Speaker 3>of The Joysticks the other day, and yeah, there's a
<v Speaker 3>lot I need to catch up on because I haven't
<v Speaker 3>even touched two of the games nominated for Game of
<v Speaker 3>the Year. So I need to touch Death Stranding. I
<v Speaker 3>need a touch Kingocome Deliverance. But going over to a
<v Speaker 3>Buddies tomorrow and he said he would show me the
<v Speaker 3>ropes that can and come and deliver, and so that'll
<v Speaker 3>be a.
<v Speaker 2>Good Oh, that'll be cool, all right.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I was thinking about spending more time with that
<v Speaker 1>as well.
<v Speaker 2>So we'll see. Maybe I'll stream this. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>It might just be easier if I could focus on
<v Speaker 1>the games and start playing them and really get.
<v Speaker 2>Some good time in there.
<v Speaker 1>We'll see, but uh, you know, I might also just
<v Speaker 1>uh if my Analog three D could show up at
<v Speaker 1>any point, I might just fuck off and play some
<v Speaker 1>old games too.
<v Speaker 3>Who's to say, what's the game you want to load
<v Speaker 3>up on that thing first? Like when you when you
<v Speaker 3>think N sixty four, what is your go to?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's uh, it is like the like those whole
<v Speaker 1>holy trinity of extreme sports games for me, the just
<v Speaker 1>the physics and Excite by ten eighty and Wave Race
<v Speaker 1>or like so much better than anything else from that time,
<v Speaker 1>and really they hold up to today that it's really
<v Speaker 1>they always attract me. Excite like usually is the first months,
<v Speaker 1>it's like, uh, it's it's still very challenging and immediately
<v Speaker 1>satisfying at the same time, So I usually go to
<v Speaker 1>that first.
<v Speaker 2>But we'll see.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe this time, it'll be Space Station's Silicon Valley. Who's
<v Speaker 1>to say we'll go in there and just try something different.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's get into the show. Let's explain what

<v Speaker 1>with chapters and timestamps on YouTube.
<v Speaker 2>Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 1>let's start the morning mess with that Xbox partner showcase
<v Speaker 1>happened yesterday, and I guess say it feels like it
<v Speaker 1>went mostly under the.
<v Speaker 2>Radar for a lot of people. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I think a lot of people are just say it's
<v Speaker 1>a Microsoft third party show. I think it's safe to
<v Speaker 1>assume most of those games will come out elsewhere. There's
<v Speaker 1>not a sense of urgency to go see the thing
<v Speaker 1>that's going to be locked down by Xbox.
<v Speaker 2>I think is a big.
<v Speaker 1>Part of it, but it also feels like there's just
<v Speaker 1>a missing piece of them communicating to the audience why
<v Speaker 1>you would want to spend your time watch in a
<v Speaker 1>show like that. That said, some decent games in there,
<v Speaker 1>and I think their presentation at this point is just
<v Speaker 1>a run trailer after trailer, not a lot of talking,
<v Speaker 1>and I appreciate that it does feel like respectful of
<v Speaker 1>your time at the very least.
<v Speaker 2>Got some interesting announcements. I'll hit the ones that stood
<v Speaker 2>out to me.
<v Speaker 1>John hit Man World of Assassination Elusive Target Mission Eminem
<v Speaker 1>Versus Slim Shady launches December first. This is from Sal
<v Speaker 1>Ramano at Gamatsu. Io Interactive is announced Hitman World of
<v Speaker 1>Assassination limited time Elusive Target mission Eminem Versus Slim Shady,
<v Speaker 1>which will be which will be available for free from
<v Speaker 1>December first through December thirty first, just in time for
<v Speaker 1>the holidays. Eminem is joining Hitman World Assassination is both
<v Speaker 1>himself and Slim Shady in a new free playable mission
<v Speaker 1>starting December first. The surreal mission, crafted in collaboration with
<v Speaker 1>Io Interactive and Paul Rosenberg, features Agent forty seven tracking
<v Speaker 1>Slim Shady through the Twisted Pomp, Stomp Hills Asylum, a
<v Speaker 1>version of the Hokkaido Medical Facility with numerous references to
<v Speaker 1>eminem discography. Additionally, the Season of Eminem Versus Slim Shady
<v Speaker 1>will bring a new roadmap of content, including an elusive Target,
<v Speaker 1>two new challenges, two new featured contract that batches three
<v Speaker 1>returning elusive targets, including the Splitter with Jeanne Claude van
<v Speaker 1>Dam and two returning events Holiday Hoarders and Hookaidos snow Festival.
<v Speaker 1>Two new twitch drops the bomb Ass Dynamite, which is
<v Speaker 1>of course a reference to US I'm sure, I'm assuming,
<v Speaker 1>and the Solstice Suit will also be available. This was
<v Speaker 1>This is very strange to see just Eminem and or
<v Speaker 1>Slim Shady in the hit Man game, but it also
<v Speaker 1>is pretty fun. I really like where that game is
<v Speaker 1>at with its collaborations.
<v Speaker 2>They're so off the wall at this point.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's something that when I see any sort of
<v Speaker 3>announcement for this hit Man game, it's going to provide
<v Speaker 3>a good time and like the excuse you kind of
<v Speaker 3>need to get back into Hitman for a little bit
<v Speaker 3>doing a couple other missions. I think this is Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it's it's definitely not one of the crossover as I
<v Speaker 3>thought they were going to have going off of, like
<v Speaker 3>like James Bond was last time. So I'm just like, Okay,
<v Speaker 3>So I guess one half of this is technically a
<v Speaker 3>fictional character, but like the other half is just like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>it's just an Eminem he's here, which in and of
<v Speaker 3>itself is an identity. But yeah, I don't know. I
<v Speaker 3>don't need much for me to get excited to return
<v Speaker 3>to hit Man. It's kind of one of those games
<v Speaker 3>you could just always go back to.
<v Speaker 2>Yep. I always have that urge to go back to it.
<v Speaker 1>That's constantly there with that game happens especially around the holidays.
<v Speaker 2>It's a game.
<v Speaker 1>I would traditionally play around Christmas time. And of course
<v Speaker 1>Giant bombs Hit Smiths was one of the best and
<v Speaker 1>one of my favorite things that we ever did here,
<v Speaker 1>I guess, and that that is something Hey, maybe we
<v Speaker 1>could recreate that, do something fun with that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, maybe go kill Eminem for the holidays.
<v Speaker 3>It's time kind of bring in the cheer.
<v Speaker 1>I can't think of a better way to do it. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Like I said, interesting collaborations. It feels a very boomer
<v Speaker 1>in a lot of ways because they're like, hey, Jean
<v Speaker 1>Claude van Dam and all these other people that just
<v Speaker 1>are not probably household names with gen Z and younger.
<v Speaker 1>You know, if anything, Eminem's is not in favor with
<v Speaker 1>the younger people. So it's like it, Oh, this is
<v Speaker 1>not something that's popping off in Fortnite, for example, although
<v Speaker 1>maybe maybe they've done an eminem concert in Fortnite. I
<v Speaker 1>just don't remember.
<v Speaker 3>Something says Morism is in the air right now, like
<v Speaker 3>like you said, Fortnite, like the Simpsons season is doing gangbusters,
<v Speaker 3>So I feel like everyone's giving giving boomers a chance
<v Speaker 3>right now, which is not exact.
<v Speaker 1>Finally someone's giving boomers a chance. We did it, everybody,
<v Speaker 1>all right, Vampire Crawlers is ready to become your next obsession.
<v Speaker 2>This looked pretty cool, right well.
<v Speaker 1>Shouts out to Jessica cogswell Over at GameSpot for this.
<v Speaker 1>In the years since Vampire Survivor's first hit PC for
<v Speaker 1>the game First Hit PC PONNCOLL Games has been busy.
<v Speaker 1>In addition to releasing numerous updates to its debut title,
<v Speaker 1>the company has expanded entered into publishing and paired up
<v Speaker 1>with other studios, including Vampire Survivor's biggest inspiration Konami to
<v Speaker 1>create a slew of fun collaboration. It's been an eventful
<v Speaker 1>few years for the BAFTA Award winning team, and it's
<v Speaker 1>simple yet utterly engrossing, bullet heaving game. And based on
<v Speaker 1>my time spit with Ponkel a few weeks ago, that's
<v Speaker 1>just scratching the surface. For the past year, Ponkell Games
<v Speaker 1>has been hard at work on its next game, Vampire Crawlers,
<v Speaker 1>a dungeon crawling deck builder that is a notable departure
<v Speaker 1>from the simplistic gameplay of Vampire Survivors, and yet after
<v Speaker 1>spending around half an hour playing the game, it's abundantly
<v Speaker 1>clear that it shares much of the same DNA and
<v Speaker 1>the same penchant for chaotic fun. Although Crawlers is at
<v Speaker 1>least initially slower paced and less compulsive than its predecessor,
<v Speaker 1>it makes up for this with increased depth and strategy
<v Speaker 1>as strategy, all while incorporating elements that make.
<v Speaker 2>The game delightfully unruly.
<v Speaker 1>And that's I think the developers were saying that that
<v Speaker 1>they want to take the concepts that were that make
<v Speaker 1>Vampire Survivors Vampire Survivors other than the very core like
<v Speaker 1>genre and apply like the sparkly stuff they said, and
<v Speaker 1>just like like maybe the retro style visuals everything else
<v Speaker 1>and apply it to other genres. And that's like one
<v Speaker 1>of their plans going forward. And this is the first
<v Speaker 1>example of this, and it is a turn based dungeon crawler.
<v Speaker 1>It's a very different kind of game, but they're trying
<v Speaker 1>to convey the same feelings as of Vampire Survivors. I
<v Speaker 1>think this is like a really fun way of doing things.
<v Speaker 1>How about you, John No, I think so too, one
<v Speaker 1>hundred percent. I get the vibes that I'm going to
<v Speaker 1>love this game. I've been in a big card builder
<v Speaker 1>like Roquelike style mood right now.
<v Speaker 3>It's just an easy way to relax. Yeah, And it's
<v Speaker 3>just they Vampire Survivors was like my killer app on
<v Speaker 3>the Steam deck, and I wasn't expecting it to be.
<v Speaker 3>I thought I was going to be a backlog machine,
<v Speaker 3>but it just became a Vampire Survivors machine for me.
<v Speaker 3>So them nailing that that gameplay loop that kind of
<v Speaker 3>scratches the itch of seeing numbers go up and being
<v Speaker 3>able to tackle bigger and bigger things. But you're like, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it's kind of like akin to like an old CHERRPG,
<v Speaker 3>like one of those earlier Dragon quests where you're not
<v Speaker 3>even on the screen and all these enemies are here.
<v Speaker 3>I know the soundtrack is gonna go really hard. That's
<v Speaker 3>gonna be super fun. But yes, it's definitely an interesting approach.
<v Speaker 3>I think I love this for them because, yeah, I
<v Speaker 3>mean it, Vampire Survivors itself created such a boom and
<v Speaker 3>so many games followed Sue Like, I'm thinking like Brotato
<v Speaker 3>or even like a megabog or whatever. This this is
<v Speaker 3>good because I'm sure this game is gonna be incredible,
<v Speaker 3>but it also means we're gonna get a lot of
<v Speaker 3>more of these deck building like rpgesque things, and I
<v Speaker 3>think that is fantastic.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, I think the Vampire Survivor style, like
<v Speaker 1>perk system, the card system could show up in a
<v Speaker 1>bunch of different kinds of games and still work, And like,
<v Speaker 1>I think they're gonna want to explore that a bunch
<v Speaker 1>of different ways. I'm like surprised the first choice is
<v Speaker 1>it Dungeon Crawler, But I think that makes it even
<v Speaker 1>more exciting to me because it's like, oh, they're really
<v Speaker 1>just thinking this could apply to anything, and they're probably
<v Speaker 1>just gonna want to do things that are fun for
<v Speaker 1>them that.
<v Speaker 2>They have ideas for.
<v Speaker 1>And uh yeah, like I said, I really welcome that,
<v Speaker 1>and I hope like this can This is the kind
<v Speaker 1>of thing that can become a model for developers to
<v Speaker 1>have a lot of success.
<v Speaker 2>You know.
<v Speaker 1>I think there's a bunch of models out there. A
<v Speaker 1>Yacht Club Games had a lot of successful shovel Shovel Night,
<v Speaker 1>and then they made they had promised early on a
<v Speaker 1>bunch of DLC for Shovel Night.
<v Speaker 2>So that's a part of it. But that was a
<v Speaker 2>really cool way of doing things.
<v Speaker 1>Just continue to explore that universe, remixing a lot of
<v Speaker 1>the stuff, and then building whole new games inside of
<v Speaker 1>that universe with the other characters, and then be like
<v Speaker 1>and then we might consider some other stuff. Here's a
<v Speaker 1>puzzle style game. Here's now some new stuff that we're
<v Speaker 1>working on with like Mina the Hollower, while also maybe
<v Speaker 1>doing three D Shovel Night.
<v Speaker 2>That's a model of a way of doing things.
<v Speaker 1>But I think this is in maybe a more reduced
<v Speaker 1>version of that of like let's just work on one
<v Speaker 1>game at a time while also still obviously making a
<v Speaker 1>sequel to Vampire Survivor that can really express these ideas
<v Speaker 1>in different ways.
<v Speaker 2>It's cool.
<v Speaker 1>Tides of Annihilation, let me see here, let me get
<v Speaker 1>down there we go shows off incredibly cinematic boss fight
<v Speaker 1>in new gameplay. This is from Alex Hopley at Game Reactor.
<v Speaker 1>Tides of Annihilation, the upcoming action game from Eclipse Glow Games,
<v Speaker 1>showed up some new gameplay footage tonight at the Xbox
<v Speaker 1>Partner preview event. We didn't waste any time running around
<v Speaker 1>looking at the skyboxes like we're in an old E
<v Speaker 1>three demo, and instead got right into the boss fight
<v Speaker 1>with Tyrono the Ferryman. The fight seems to give some
<v Speaker 1>of the it gives off some souls vibes, or gives
<v Speaker 1>them a run for their money in terms of epic
<v Speaker 1>visuals and orchestral soundtracks effects flying all over the place.
<v Speaker 1>They looked very cinematic, john to the point where I
<v Speaker 1>think a lot of people are like, this just isn't
<v Speaker 1>a game. You're just watching this, And I think that
<v Speaker 1>might be true for a lot of the fight.
<v Speaker 2>But I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>They said it was unedited and kind of emphasized that
<v Speaker 1>that's what the game is when you see stuff like
<v Speaker 1>that these days, like the just super cinematic, overwhelming, like
<v Speaker 1>stylistic visuals. How do you feel about it? Because for me,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like my brain switches off a little bit.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it kind of becomes like an automated thing, right
<v Speaker 3>like when i'd be right now, I'm literally wearing like
<v Speaker 3>a double mccry shirt where I want the action to
<v Speaker 3>be like fully dictated by me and like my kind
<v Speaker 3>of expression on how I want to play an action game.
<v Speaker 3>So it does feel kind of like regiment it and
<v Speaker 3>like you're kind of put down a path. I think
<v Speaker 3>it does look cool, Like I don't want to discount
<v Speaker 3>that for this game has a Castle Vania vibe that
<v Speaker 3>I'm also like super into. But yeah, I mean, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>long story short, like to answer your question, Yeah, I
<v Speaker 3>mean these games don't do a whole lot for me
<v Speaker 3>in the sense that I am looking for something with
<v Speaker 3>a bit more control as opposed to like pressing a
<v Speaker 3>button and I'm just already in their face. I want
<v Speaker 3>to like really think about the combat, and sometimes a
<v Speaker 3>tell is too big and I want to be able
<v Speaker 3>to just get in their face but not feel like
<v Speaker 3>the game is doing that for me.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think, uh, like, if it's going to be
<v Speaker 1>a very cinematic thing where you are kind of hands
<v Speaker 1>off a little bit, there's a room for that. But
<v Speaker 1>for me, it's like, oh, the bar is up there
<v Speaker 1>at chat is like Santa Sura's Wrath, So that's where
<v Speaker 1>the bar is at, where just the most absurd stuff
<v Speaker 1>is happening on the screen. And this looked like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>a Final Fantasy. Maybe maybe an over the top Final
<v Speaker 1>Fantasy fight, but a Final Fantasy fight.
<v Speaker 2>It's like, Okay, that's so I kind.
<v Speaker 1>Of do want to feel like I'm a little bit
<v Speaker 1>more in control because a Final Fantasy has done this
<v Speaker 1>before and often maybe better.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. Yeah, it even looks a bit like sixteen.
<v Speaker 2>It does.
<v Speaker 3>It'd be cool. I do want games that are are
<v Speaker 3>kind of just to Sura's Wrath again, Like, I know
<v Speaker 3>that game is like heavily criticized, but that's one of
<v Speaker 3>the most gorgeous games I've ever seen in my life,
<v Speaker 3>and there's still not a lot of games that like
<v Speaker 3>reach that height. I would love for them to bring
<v Speaker 3>that back. I forget which dev at Capcom was behind that,
<v Speaker 3>but I love to see more of that.
<v Speaker 1>Uh all right, Zoopunk confirmed for PS five Xbox Series MPC,
<v Speaker 1>and it has had a revealed trailer at the Partner Preview.
<v Speaker 2>This is from Sal Ramono at Gamatsu Zoo Punk.
<v Speaker 1>The January announced three D action adventure game from Fist
<v Speaker 1>Forged in Shadow Torch developer to TI Games. We'll launch
<v Speaker 1>for PlayStation five Xbox Series in PC via Steam Etic
<v Speaker 1>Game Store, Microsoft Store.
<v Speaker 2>The developer announced. A release date was not announced.
<v Speaker 1>This is a three y yeah action adventure like sort
<v Speaker 1>of combat game with characters that I'm like, oh, these
<v Speaker 1>are like, you know, the free mecha characters.
<v Speaker 2>They're familiar. I couldn't quite place it, and it's like,
<v Speaker 2>oh no.
<v Speaker 1>This is a sequel to Fist Forged in Shadow Torch,
<v Speaker 1>which was a console and PC Metroidvanya game that had
<v Speaker 1>like these rabbits and other kinds of animals that were
<v Speaker 1>wearing mechanical suits and stuff like that, and the rabbit,
<v Speaker 1>I think had a mechanical fist, and that was like
<v Speaker 1>the core gameplay thing. I didn't play a ton of it.
<v Speaker 1>I did touch it briefly, but I know a lot
<v Speaker 1>of people thought it was a really good Metroid Vena.
<v Speaker 1>And one of my favorite things from in gaming is
<v Speaker 1>when a smaller studio or a studio that is not
<v Speaker 1>like at one of these major publishers puts out a
<v Speaker 1>game that people like, like relative basically an indie game,
<v Speaker 1>and then they followed up and they kind of take
<v Speaker 1>that same franchise and build on it, make it bigger,
<v Speaker 1>and make it different. They're not just doing another Metroid venue,
<v Speaker 1>which of course I would welcome, even though I haven't
<v Speaker 1>played the first one.
<v Speaker 2>I want to. They're not just doing that.
<v Speaker 1>They're making a full like kind of triple A looking
<v Speaker 1>three D action game and it looked pretty impressive.
<v Speaker 2>I thought it looked good. Yo, would you think of
<v Speaker 2>this one? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>It kind of caught me by surprise because I feel
<v Speaker 3>like I only played Yeah, like, I played Fist, I
<v Speaker 3>think at like Paxis like a couple of years ago,
<v Speaker 3>and that was my first big like chance with it,
<v Speaker 3>and that game felt good. So it's it's crazy that
<v Speaker 3>they're already at a sequel and it is a completely
<v Speaker 3>different style of action game, and it's so soon and
<v Speaker 3>it does look really good. I'm pretty excited about this.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't play the first one. Maybe I should get
<v Speaker 3>around to that. There's no no drought of Metrovna's right now.
<v Speaker 3>It definitely did stick out in those I think it
<v Speaker 3>was like in a PlayStation or Xbox showcase like a
<v Speaker 3>while ago. But yeah, it's cool. It's just like, wow,
<v Speaker 3>they were this, they were already ready to create like
<v Speaker 3>a franchise, even at like the first game wasn't kind
<v Speaker 3>of hit as big as it did. I think it
<v Speaker 3>was like sort of an indie darling in a like
<v Speaker 3>Tsunami of indie darlings. I feel like we're in right now,
<v Speaker 3>but kind of crazy that this is just out of
<v Speaker 3>nowhere and it looks super good. Do we have a
<v Speaker 3>release date for this or is no?
<v Speaker 1>There was specifically not a release date for Zoo Punk,
<v Speaker 1>so I have to wait a little bit longer to
<v Speaker 1>find out about that, probably sometime next year.
<v Speaker 2>Though.
<v Speaker 1>We did get a release date though for Total Chaos
<v Speaker 1>that shadow dropped. It's a launched now for PS five
<v Speaker 1>Xbox Series MPC. According to Salramano at Dematsu, publisher Apage
<v Speaker 1>Entertainment and developer Trigger Happy Interactive have released psychological survival
<v Speaker 1>horror game Total Chaos for PS five, Xbox Series and PC.
<v Speaker 1>It's twenty five dollars. I thought it looked pretty spooky
<v Speaker 1>and cool and uh also you know, kind of a
<v Speaker 1>on the gory side of the survival horror uh like
<v Speaker 1>meter over there, and yeah, it's always cool to get
<v Speaker 1>a shadow drop. And I think this one was winning
<v Speaker 1>over chat when I was watching live chat was pretty
<v Speaker 1>miserable for the official Xbox stream on YouTube at least,
<v Speaker 1>but this one. When this one happened, most people seem
<v Speaker 1>to agree. It's like, ah, that looks fun. I have
<v Speaker 1>not I have this game, I have not tried it yet.
<v Speaker 1>Is this one like when you saw this and you
<v Speaker 1>saw it like dropped immediately?
<v Speaker 2>Any interest from you?
<v Speaker 3>It looks cool. I probably not up my alley immediately.
<v Speaker 3>I still I do love survival Horror. It's something I'm
<v Speaker 3>getting around to, but I have such a backlog right now,
<v Speaker 3>specifically survival horror games, that it's hard to want to
<v Speaker 3>put it directly in the queue. But it does look
<v Speaker 3>really cool. I'm sure if it gets enough buzz, I'll
<v Speaker 3>come around to it down the line. I feel like
<v Speaker 3>I'm always a couple of years behind in a lot
<v Speaker 3>of different genres as opposed to is playing the big games.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, yeah, checkpoints out. It's a total chaos is
<v Speaker 1>a remake, reimagining of the of an original Doom to
<v Speaker 1>mod full conversion, and so yeah, like they did that
<v Speaker 1>way back and now they are putting out as its
<v Speaker 1>own game, and it's fully like it's a modern looking
<v Speaker 1>game and all that stuff, but yeah, Apage goes way
<v Speaker 1>back to those days. So it's maybe there's like a
<v Speaker 1>direct line there where they're like, hey, let's take that
<v Speaker 1>idea and make something out of it. Total Chaos also
<v Speaker 1>just sounds like a mod for Doom.
<v Speaker 3>It's like and it's a sick name.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, absolutely right.
<v Speaker 1>It feels totally out of the nineties and a really
<v Speaker 1>good Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I definitely downloaded this wad back in the day for sure.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, definitely has like a pack there and it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>I'll try this one.
<v Speaker 1>One thing that did not get announced at the Partner
<v Speaker 1>showcase john Silent Hill to remake coming to Xbox, which
<v Speaker 1>it did quietly. This comes from Blair Marnell at GameSpot.
<v Speaker 1>Xbox Series X and S owners were left out when
<v Speaker 1>Blooper Team released its remake of Konami's Silent Hill two
<v Speaker 1>in twenty twenty four. Previous reports indicated that the game
<v Speaker 1>was a timed exclusive for PlayStation five, but the one
<v Speaker 1>year anniversary passed without an announcement of an Xbox sport. Now,
<v Speaker 1>Silent Hill two is popped up on one of Xbox's
<v Speaker 1>international storefronts, which seemingly confirms that it will be heading
<v Speaker 1>to other countries soon. Silent Hill two is currently available
<v Speaker 1>for half off on Xbox's Australian store. Konami has yet
<v Speaker 1>to formally announce it for Xbox Series X and S
<v Speaker 1>in the United States, but the game was recently certified
<v Speaker 1>for those consoles by the ESRB. It will remain an
<v Speaker 1>for mature title, of course it is. Yeah, just I
<v Speaker 1>guess this is more a heads up than anything.
<v Speaker 2>I do.
<v Speaker 1>Wonder if they literally just can't say that this thing
<v Speaker 1>is coming, or they could not say that this thing
<v Speaker 1>is coming to Xbox until that one year date passed up,
<v Speaker 1>and they're just sort of like gonna wait for that
<v Speaker 1>smoke to clear a little bit and they'd be like, Hey,
<v Speaker 1>it's on Xbox and talk about it here in a
<v Speaker 1>day or two.
<v Speaker 2>What do you think.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's it's weird, right, Like I feel like this
<v Speaker 3>is kind of a like, I don't know, it's kind
<v Speaker 3>of like a blunder on. I don't know whose side
<v Speaker 3>of the fence that is a blunder on if it's
<v Speaker 3>Xbox or Konami. I mean, this is one of the
<v Speaker 3>best games that's released in the past couple of years,
<v Speaker 3>and it did be impossible in like putting Bluebirt in
<v Speaker 3>those good graces, like making him be like, oh yeah,
<v Speaker 3>they can actually get something. Yeah, there's a part of
<v Speaker 3>me that wonders if the reason it didn't get fully
<v Speaker 3>confirmed is because that that movie trailer for that new
<v Speaker 3>the Silent Hill movie that's coming in January was like
<v Speaker 3>retracted because it was bad. Yes, which makes which makes
<v Speaker 3>me even more excited to see it because I just
<v Speaker 3>need to know what that's about. But yeah, I mean
<v Speaker 3>I still need to get around to Island Hill too.
<v Speaker 3>I've been playing sign Hill one on my PS three lately.
<v Speaker 3>That's been a big, a good time. But yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know why you wouldn't want to capitalize on this.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know if it's yeah, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's just it's strange it's not in that showcase.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, I think it's probably a matter of like
<v Speaker 1>it probably was going to be. And then there was
<v Speaker 1>like some question about wait, can we talk about this yet,
<v Speaker 1>because maybe we have to wait for the full year
<v Speaker 1>of the timed exclusivity for Sony to to lapse or
<v Speaker 1>something like that. Whether there's just if there's just questions
<v Speaker 1>around that, or maybe they have some other asset that
<v Speaker 1>they're working on that they're going to pop off somewhere else,
<v Speaker 1>Like maybe they're like, you know, we want to hit
<v Speaker 1>we really want to hit the hit it with a
<v Speaker 1>big oomph at the Game Awards or something, and so
<v Speaker 1>let's just pull out of everything else and put all
<v Speaker 1>our put all our marbles in that instead. I could
<v Speaker 1>see that, I guess, but just like a commercial at
<v Speaker 1>the Game Awards being that's available now in Xbox or
<v Speaker 1>something like.
<v Speaker 2>That, I don't know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, good point. Switch
<v Speaker 2>to port.
<v Speaker 1>That could be the kind of thing worth they wait
<v Speaker 1>wait till to announce it until that they could just
<v Speaker 1>sort of get all.
<v Speaker 2>The excitement at one point.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, moving away from Thanks coming to Xbox and the
<v Speaker 1>Xbox Partner preview, let's get over to Ubisoft, which has
<v Speaker 1>a lot going on. They had their H one earnings
<v Speaker 1>ahead of expectations, and that's not ahead of when they
<v Speaker 1>expected to announce it, because of course that was delayed.
<v Speaker 1>They delayed their earnings report. John Hicksover at Games Industry
<v Speaker 1>Depz has the details of what they actually did.
<v Speaker 2>Now that they've annound their earnings.
<v Speaker 1>Ubisoft announced H one that's first half earnings ahead of expectations,
<v Speaker 1>and confirmed it's on track to close it's one point
<v Speaker 1>one six billion euro partnership deal with ten Cent if all,
<v Speaker 1>it was a week of speculation triggered by the formal
<v Speaker 1>delay of Ubisoft's earnings results and a corresponding halt and
<v Speaker 1>share trading. That delay was due to a restatement of
<v Speaker 1>earnings from four fiscal year twenty twenty four to twenty
<v Speaker 1>twenty five. This position, now applied by the group going forward,
<v Speaker 1>has also resulted in a partnership signed in Q two
<v Speaker 1>fiscal year twenty twenty five twenty twenty six not being
<v Speaker 1>recognized INIFO fifteen revenues that they're like fiscal revenue year
<v Speaker 1>or whatever. I don't know, the company said. Notably, the
<v Speaker 1>company released its results under both international financial reporting standards.
<v Speaker 1>I guess that's the IFRS and non IFRS rules. They
<v Speaker 1>were probably prepping it both ways, so it just sounds
<v Speaker 1>like some accounting bullshit happened. And they had to sort
<v Speaker 1>of account for that, and that probably caused some problems
<v Speaker 1>to maintain compliance with the standards that they need to
<v Speaker 1>report their earnings in, which is again that IFRS thing,
<v Speaker 1>and so it was just they were maybe doing it
<v Speaker 1>both ways and like, okay, well we actually need to
<v Speaker 1>do it under that compliance, so let's delay it. It's strange.
<v Speaker 1>But they did have some other news to talk about.
<v Speaker 1>Let's see here, let's go over their highlights. The second
<v Speaker 1>half performance was attributed to stronger than expected partnerships along
<v Speaker 1>with strong performance of Assassin's Creed and the Division, which
<v Speaker 1>offset a soft performance of Rainbow six.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it sounds like Rainbow six is.
<v Speaker 1>At a low point right now with siege see just
<v Speaker 1>most recent update I think not being favorably received. The
<v Speaker 1>company said that the launch of ten Cent funded subsidiary
<v Speaker 1>Vantage Studios is imminent and all conditions precedent have been satisfied.
<v Speaker 1>Vantage will own the company's prime brands of Assassin's Creed,
<v Speaker 1>Farcrey and Rainbow six, and will be twenty five percent
<v Speaker 1>owned by Tencent in exchange for a one point one
<v Speaker 1>six euro billion or one point one six billion euro
<v Speaker 1>cash infusion, which will be used to pay down UBI
<v Speaker 1>softs in debt debt which currently stands at one point
<v Speaker 1>one five billion euro. Ubisoft announced the partnership with ten
<v Speaker 1>Cent in March. As far as that the news goes,
<v Speaker 1>they had stuff like Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake, apparently
<v Speaker 1>due to launch March thirty first. This is from my
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo news. We've heard plenty of about heard plenty about
<v Speaker 1>the long awaited Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake they'll use.
<v Speaker 1>Ubisoft has yet to acknowledge its existence. Now, Insider Gaming
<v Speaker 1>has provided more information, with journalists Grant Taylor Hill stating
<v Speaker 1>that it's set to launch on multiple consoles before the
<v Speaker 1>thirty first of March twenty twenty six. Basically, John Ubisoft
<v Speaker 1>had a timeline here of their lineup for the second half,
<v Speaker 1>and it still includes Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake that
<v Speaker 1>I feel like some kind of Russian things A little
<v Speaker 1>bit shadows was just here. This Does this mean this
<v Speaker 1>is coming before early next quarter?
<v Speaker 3>I mean that that's probably what they want to aim for.
<v Speaker 3>That's probably they want to get it in before that
<v Speaker 3>like full year earnings report in March. It's very weird
<v Speaker 3>because I think they reiterated that they also wanted to
<v Speaker 3>have the Sands of Time remake there too, So it's like,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know if you're going to overcrowd the year.
<v Speaker 3>We don't know if they even have an Assassin's Creed
<v Speaker 3>for next year to my knowledge, but yeah, I mean
<v Speaker 3>I can see the want to do that there. Releasing
<v Speaker 3>two games within that same time span probably not the
<v Speaker 3>best idea, just because of how Ubisoft games out and
<v Speaker 3>then the people who want to pick it up day
<v Speaker 3>one pick it up, and then people pick it up
<v Speaker 3>four to five months later down the line half off
<v Speaker 3>or something, which is kind of what's gotten them into
<v Speaker 3>this mess that.
<v Speaker 2>Expectation, for sure.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, it's that is an interesting choice, especially because
<v Speaker 3>we're coming off a year with two Assassin's Creeds and
<v Speaker 3>those games get so much bigger now than even when
<v Speaker 3>Black Flag came out, and that was like a big one,
<v Speaker 3>big one. So yeah, Cure, I can see it happening,
<v Speaker 3>but only because my expectations for you'd be soft doing
<v Speaker 3>reasonable stuff is so gutter level right now.
<v Speaker 1>It's, uh, we know, the future of Assassin's Creed is
<v Speaker 1>like pretty secure over there. That's that is one of
<v Speaker 1>those ones that's part of Vantage Vantage is the studio
<v Speaker 1>that they've been focused on, like this new unit that
<v Speaker 1>will be partly owned by ten Cent that they have
<v Speaker 1>not quite launched yet, but they say the plan is
<v Speaker 1>to launch it in January of next year.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>They also said as part of this earnings report that
<v Speaker 1>they the idea is to have a bunch of these
<v Speaker 1>autonomous units that are separate from each other that handle
<v Speaker 1>various things.
<v Speaker 2>They have not.
<v Speaker 1>Said what that will look like, but they also plan
<v Speaker 1>to talk about that early next year. Do you think
<v Speaker 1>that means that, like, there's any chance that these other
<v Speaker 1>units that will be handling things that aren't Assassin's Creed,
<v Speaker 1>Far Cry or Rainbow six will be getting anything close
<v Speaker 1>to the same amount of love that those franchises are getting.
<v Speaker 3>It's kind of hard to say. I would say probably not.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like Assassin's Creek kind of is in the
<v Speaker 3>position of a Kuala Duty right, Like it is kind
<v Speaker 3>of their bread and butter at this point.
<v Speaker 2>And.
<v Speaker 3>It over time, it seems more and more like if
<v Speaker 3>something doesn't hit two expectations with the Ubisoft, we do
<v Speaker 3>slowly gut it, slowly reduce the funds of those games.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, I want to believe that having those separate
<v Speaker 3>sectors means where going to be trying to get those
<v Speaker 3>individual franchises and ips to a certain level. They're I mean,
<v Speaker 3>they're working on a ray Man game, They're working on
<v Speaker 3>Prince of Persia again. Who knows what they're going to
<v Speaker 3>be doing for their partnership stuff or I guess the
<v Speaker 3>Division III whenever that comes out. But it's weird. This
<v Speaker 3>It kind of is interesting because it's like all these
<v Speaker 3>different pillars for Ubisoft, does that mean that there is
<v Speaker 3>going to be less you know, knowledge knowledge transfer? Like
<v Speaker 3>are we going to be able to know sure when
<v Speaker 3>games are coming out? When are we going to are
<v Speaker 3>we going to be able to know if someone's like
<v Speaker 3>found a breakthrough in one of their engines or something.
<v Speaker 3>It's a little scary to me, just because separating your
<v Speaker 3>your golden egg from the rest of the company makes
<v Speaker 3>it seem much more likely that the other part of
<v Speaker 3>the branch is considered like a rotting part and they're
<v Speaker 3>just gonna amputate it later. It's I don't know, unnerving.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's like it already felt like uh like beyond
<v Speaker 1>good and evil to and or whatever happen is happening
<v Speaker 1>with ray man or of a variety of different things
<v Speaker 1>are already not getting a lot of love at Ubisoft.
<v Speaker 1>They already feel forgotten and left behind. So it's like
<v Speaker 1>how much worse can it get? And it's like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>the reality is like those probably do get cut, but
<v Speaker 1>we won't stop there. They will probably be like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>things that were recently relative franchises Chat's champointed out Watchdogs,
<v Speaker 1>Like some of the Watchdogs is going to have to
<v Speaker 1>compete for attention with something like the Division, and the
<v Speaker 1>Division is doing better right now, so it's like we're
<v Speaker 1>gonna put all our efforts into the Division as opposed
<v Speaker 1>to any of these other things, and so it's going
<v Speaker 1>to be sort of a hunger Games for everything that
<v Speaker 1>was not one of those three core franchises. And it's
<v Speaker 1>I don't think any of these other autonomous units that
<v Speaker 1>are already being treated as afterthoughts, they're not going to
<v Speaker 1>be part of this initial January launch advantage sounds like yeah,
<v Speaker 1>very quickly, everything else will be left to rot. We'll
<v Speaker 1>move on from this quickly. We got to get to
<v Speaker 1>the break too. But last thought or last question for you,
<v Speaker 1>like just for the Core, like you be soft of
<v Speaker 1>these handling those three franchises, Like, what do you think
<v Speaker 1>the path there looks like? Is it just SQL after
<v Speaker 1>SQL for those three or do that this vantage eventually
<v Speaker 1>start to like branch out again and make new stuff, Like, well,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, it doesn't sound sustainable to me to
<v Speaker 1>just make Assassin's Creed sequels.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean, it's it's how they position it, right,
<v Speaker 3>Like if they are going to within those big teams
<v Speaker 3>have aspects of Assassin's Creed and like a certain group
<v Speaker 3>making something again to a Prince of Bridge, a Lost Crown,
<v Speaker 3>like like a two D side scroller, like I remember
<v Speaker 3>playing a couple of those on the DS for Assassin's
<v Speaker 3>Creed and those were pretty fun. But yeah, it it's
<v Speaker 3>it probably will just be the reverse of trend chasing,
<v Speaker 3>which is kind of what put them here in the
<v Speaker 3>first place. Right, It is going to be sticking with
<v Speaker 3>what state, and it is going to be trying to
<v Speaker 3>like follow up things on a much faster cadence to
<v Speaker 3>get that money over time. Yeah, it probably is just
<v Speaker 3>going to be a sequel farm, isn't it kind of
<v Speaker 3>talking to myself.
<v Speaker 1>Probably, Yeah, it's just it's so hard to imagine them
<v Speaker 1>being like all right, and now here's some like I
<v Speaker 1>remember when they introduced Watchdogs. It'd be very hard for
<v Speaker 1>me to like imagine Vantage doing something like that again,
<v Speaker 1>where it's like, hey, we're going to try this whole
<v Speaker 1>new franchise that's sort of like a spiritual alternative to
<v Speaker 1>Assassin's Creed that's modern and deals with hacking. It's new
<v Speaker 1>ideas and it looks new, and it's a whole new ip.
<v Speaker 2>It's just that feels insane at this point for Vantage.
<v Speaker 2>But I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>We're if this works in terms of just like focusing
<v Speaker 1>on these three franchises and they can grow those specific franchises,
<v Speaker 1>then maybe ten years from now, who knows what can happen.
<v Speaker 2>All right, let's hit that brake.

<v Speaker 2>GAYMS Mornings is back.
<v Speaker 1>Jeff Grubb, John Martin's let's hit the details of this
<v Speaker 1>last Tube Soft story before we move on. We talked
<v Speaker 1>about it a little bit, but Ubisoft reaffirms Prince of
<v Speaker 1>Persia the sansa Time remake will release this financial year.
<v Speaker 1>This is from Alex Hopley, a game reactor. Ubisoft is
<v Speaker 1>once again confirmed that Prince of Persia, the Sands of
<v Speaker 1>Time remake is set to release this financial year. Despite
<v Speaker 1>us seeing almost nothing from the project aside from fresh
<v Speaker 1>reveals and extra confirmations, it's still arriving soon. This comes
<v Speaker 1>from Ubisoft's latest financial earnence report, where we're told that
<v Speaker 1>Prince of Persia, the Sansutime remake, Rainbow six Mobile, the
<v Speaker 1>Division Resurgence and this cuts off, but I think it
<v Speaker 1>might be the reference to what we just talked about
<v Speaker 1>in that last story. Assassin's Creep Black Flag will all
<v Speaker 1>be out this fiscal year. Yeah, it's like they mean
<v Speaker 1>March thirty first, twenty twenty six, Like we're talking four months,
<v Speaker 1>so in the next four months we're gonna get all
<v Speaker 1>this stuff. It's especially that we haven't heard much on
<v Speaker 1>any of these things, like have they even publicly confirmed
<v Speaker 1>that like Assassin's Creep, they must have confirmed Assassin's Creep
<v Speaker 1>Black Flag before this at some point.
<v Speaker 2>Because the other talking about it.
<v Speaker 1>Either way, we haven't heard much about it, so it's like,
<v Speaker 1>do we get like a lot of these announcements at
<v Speaker 1>the Game Awards?
<v Speaker 2>What do you think?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah? I mean it's weird, right, Like the announcing it
<v Speaker 3>the Game Awards would be good for I guess shadow
<v Speaker 3>dropping and getting the digital sales over the holiday break,
<v Speaker 3>but it's so bizarre that they didn't want to launch
<v Speaker 3>something as big as like Prince of Persia the Sands
<v Speaker 3>of Time, and they might think of it as a
<v Speaker 3>lesser franchise at this point, which is yeah, cruel and stupid,
<v Speaker 3>but it really does feel like, yeah, there, if this
<v Speaker 3>is going to happen, it's just gonna be a shadow drop.
<v Speaker 3>It's out enjoy, which is weird because like I but
<v Speaker 3>I don't even remember what the game looks like, Like
<v Speaker 3>I know they had to work on it, and I
<v Speaker 3>more so remember the yellow text delays of it, or
<v Speaker 3>I think it was blue text because Prince of Persia,
<v Speaker 3>but like, yeah, it's been so long. It's been like
<v Speaker 3>three thousand years since this game was announced and we
<v Speaker 3>saw it once and then nothing again. Yeah, I don't
<v Speaker 3>know the strategy for this. It sounds like they're kind
<v Speaker 3>of just sending it out to die without any fanfair
<v Speaker 3>or anything. I when did you fit that in? It
<v Speaker 3>doesn't make sense to me, but I don't know. I'm stupid.
<v Speaker 2>Uh yeah, I want to Yeah, I guess. I was like,
<v Speaker 2>does you be seftis fiscal? Y're actually in March thirty first.
<v Speaker 1>I know a lot of companies do, but I thought
<v Speaker 1>I remember them going like mid year to mid year.
<v Speaker 1>But no, I guess it is March thirty first, So yeah,
<v Speaker 1>all before the end of this upcoming March. This chart
<v Speaker 1>has a couple of games that have come out like
<v Speaker 1>on oh and I guess, well, no Avatar from the
<v Speaker 1>Actions DLC will be out in December. I think this
<v Speaker 1>is Assassin's Green Mirage DLC is coming out soon. So
<v Speaker 1>some things that like we know about either either have
<v Speaker 1>dates or they're coming, you know, or we know that
<v Speaker 1>they'll be out before the end of the year. It
<v Speaker 1>is these four games. Rainbow six Mobile, the division that
<v Speaker 1>that the mobile game there. I think I got some
<v Speaker 1>mobile game. Maybe it's another kind of game. I can't
<v Speaker 1>keep track of the division. Prince of Persia Sands A
<v Speaker 1>Time remake, and then an unannounced title, but Insider Gaming
<v Speaker 1>says that that un announced title is Assassin's Creed Black
<v Speaker 1>Flag remake.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>It just feels like, I if these are coming out
<v Speaker 1>in late March. I suppose they could start talking about
<v Speaker 1>it in January, but all of them are coming out
<v Speaker 1>at that point. It's you know what it is. It
<v Speaker 1>sounds like the ongoing mess over at UBI Software. They're
<v Speaker 1>just some of the stuff might be getting lost in
<v Speaker 1>the sauce of them trying to figure out what they're
<v Speaker 1>even doing anymore. That's probably not out of the rem
<v Speaker 1>of possibility right now.
<v Speaker 3>That seems entirely what it's like right now. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>they're focusing on splitting their company in half right now,
<v Speaker 3>ring of taking on a lot of other business plays,
<v Speaker 3>trying to get that cash infusion from ten Cents. So
<v Speaker 3>I would not be shocked if it's like, oh, we've
<v Speaker 3>had these things to go, but we haven't had the
<v Speaker 3>time to schedule them in a way that makes sense
<v Speaker 3>and kind of best brings in the audience who are
<v Speaker 3>here for those kinds of games but might need some
<v Speaker 3>time to save money or just get ready for it.
<v Speaker 3>Put things aside and like measure at time. It's just
<v Speaker 3>very weird. They're gonna need to rely on those partners
<v Speaker 3>for announcing it for sure, like game wards for sure,
<v Speaker 3>Like they need like a State up Play or an
<v Speaker 3>Xbox or a Nintendo direct or whatever.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what.
<v Speaker 3>Xbox calls it. It was even yesterday, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Partner Preview. Yeah, I keep forgetting it too. It was
<v Speaker 1>like Partner Showcase and it's Partner Preview.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you're right.
<v Speaker 1>With Game Awards coming up, that is a place where
<v Speaker 1>we could very easily see black lag that that.
<v Speaker 2>Is, and then all the rest of them after after that.
<v Speaker 1>It gets announced, like with a release date, the rest
<v Speaker 1>of them can sort of fall anywhere.
<v Speaker 2>And that would make sense. I suppose.
<v Speaker 1>I suppose they could shadow drop an Assassin's Creed game,
<v Speaker 1>but again that just can't happen. So I feel like
<v Speaker 1>they'll wait till next quarter. We'll see last couple of stories.
<v Speaker 1>Street Fighter six smashes the six million player barrier. This
<v Speaker 1>is from Jonas Mackie at Game Reactor. For eight months
<v Speaker 1>from May twenty twenty third to January twenty twenty four,
<v Speaker 1>fighting fans really had a field day first game, Street
<v Speaker 1>Fighter six, followed by Mortal Kombat.
<v Speaker 2>One, and then Tecan Tecan six That, right, is it?
<v Speaker 2>Not Tech and eight.
<v Speaker 1>Although the middle one doesn't seem to have done as
<v Speaker 1>well as NETHERELM and Warner had hoped, it still sold
<v Speaker 1>six million copies before support was recently discontinued, and now
<v Speaker 1>Capcom is celebrating the same miles with Street Fighter six,
<v Speaker 1>which continues to go from strength to strength to strength
<v Speaker 1>of selling six million copies. That's according to an Instagram
<v Speaker 1>post from Capcom. Yeah, the point, it seems like Street
<v Speaker 1>Fighters back on top of the world in a lot
<v Speaker 1>of ways. I think it's like assumed its rightful position
<v Speaker 1>as like the fighting game and it's showing up in
<v Speaker 1>the sales in the way that it has before, but
<v Speaker 1>not in the most recent Street Fighter games, which kind
<v Speaker 1>of struggled to get to this point after some time.
<v Speaker 3>Right, No, absolutely, I mean like even in the game
<v Speaker 3>awards like mena RD and Kakru are both representing the
<v Speaker 3>fighting game category in a way I don't even remember
<v Speaker 3>the last time someone in the fighting game scene has
<v Speaker 3>been nominated for one of those awards, which is super exciting. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>and I mean I'm trying to think when did Street
<v Speaker 3>Fighter five die like around like it ended in like, well,
<v Speaker 3>I guess twenty twenty three when street Fighter six came out,
<v Speaker 3>So certainly that had eight years to get to that point.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, we are just two years out from Street
<v Speaker 3>Fighter six. It is absolutely crushing it. Yes, it is
<v Speaker 3>my go to fighting game at this point, like it's
<v Speaker 3>the one I play the most, the one I mess
<v Speaker 3>around with the most in terms of like what's currently
<v Speaker 3>being played. And yeah, no, I'm just in love with
<v Speaker 3>this game. So it just makes me happy to see
<v Speaker 3>it doing well and people may playing more street Fighter yep.
<v Speaker 1>Same, It's good to know that they have found their audience.
<v Speaker 1>And I think, I don't know, it feels like every
<v Speaker 1>day more people are becoming street.
<v Speaker 2>Fighter people, which I appreciate.
<v Speaker 1>All Right, obviously we've got to do this story. Most
<v Speaker 1>Important Thing of the week. Bikini wearing Sucubus boards skyrockets
<v Speaker 1>to top of Kirby air Riders custom market after Nintendo Bandwave.
<v Speaker 2>One more time.
<v Speaker 1>Bikini wearing Sucubus boards skyrockets to top of Kirby air
<v Speaker 1>Riders custom market after Nintendo Bandwave. This story comes from
<v Speaker 1>Kenneth Shephard at Kotaku. Let's see what Kenneth has done here?
<v Speaker 1>What sins have you wrought here? Kenneth, Well, that was
<v Speaker 1>fun while it lasted. Nintendo has taken down a Kirby
<v Speaker 1>air Rider's custom vehicle from its user created store that
<v Speaker 1>depicts the series supporting character Chef Kawasaki in a bikini
<v Speaker 1>as a ressault. As a result, fans are flocking to
<v Speaker 1>a similar hoverboard that's still in the marketplace before the
<v Speaker 1>company can ban that one too. Automaton reports that Japanese
<v Speaker 1>fans have been expressing disappointment online after the original custom
<v Speaker 1>hoverboard that was painted to look like Kawasaki in a
<v Speaker 1>micro bikini had been removed. Yeah, that had been banned
<v Speaker 1>from the game. Let's see the designs originate. The design
<v Speaker 1>originates from a band fan game and went on to
<v Speaker 1>become a meme in the Japanese Kirby community, So it's
<v Speaker 1>entirely possible that this is just an extension of a
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo and Kirby developer how laboratory trying to wipe the
<v Speaker 1>scantily clad chef from existence. However, as of this writing,
<v Speaker 1>there's still a bikini wearing Kawasaki on the air Riders marketplace,
<v Speaker 1>though it's not quite as revealing. Thank you Jan for
<v Speaker 1>letting the people see that this is the original one,
<v Speaker 1>or oh no, this is the new one.
<v Speaker 2>I think I think this is the one that's still
<v Speaker 2>up there.
<v Speaker 1>There's one in an actual micro bikini that I'm looking
<v Speaker 1>at right now, and you all.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's a lot.
<v Speaker 1>Following the banning of the first one, another bikini blah
<v Speaker 1>blah blah came out. Yeah, it's in the top five.
<v Speaker 1>The it's it's I don't know, it's about the same.
<v Speaker 1>They have wings.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. I guess that's what makes it a
<v Speaker 2>suck you bus? Uh what what uh fuck? Is this game?
<v Speaker 2>John Martin?
<v Speaker 3>It's great? No, this is great.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 3>I mean not the banning part. That's that's horseshit. Uh
<v Speaker 3>that's uh, you know, that's what soccer I always wanted.
<v Speaker 3>He wanted to give players the utmost custom ability. It
<v Speaker 3>is a game you got to sink your time into,
<v Speaker 3>so you need to pick a vehicle that you're super
<v Speaker 3>invested in, and I think this is doing it for
<v Speaker 3>a lot of people. They wanted to push Kawasaki.
<v Speaker 1>Kawasaki put all my money in Chef Kawasaki.
<v Speaker 3>I loved, Oh You're going to be scalped, scalped the
<v Speaker 3>High Heaven and removed of their and bikinis plenty. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>this is this is hilarious. Like the game came out
<v Speaker 3>yesterday and there's already a story breaking out this game.
<v Speaker 3>This is a pretty hilarious. Yeah, and I've been I've
<v Speaker 3>been a Kawasaki day one since since the TV show
<v Speaker 3>when I was a kid. So happy to see my
<v Speaker 3>boy making headlines.
<v Speaker 1>Good for you, Chef Kawasaki. Yeah, that's that's a lot
<v Speaker 1>of fun. I've not touched this. Dan has the code
<v Speaker 1>and so he's been playing it. He's he's I think
<v Speaker 1>he put on Blue Sky some of its thoughts. Mostly
<v Speaker 1>he has questions still about the game, and I think
<v Speaker 1>I will probably feel the same way when I eventually.
<v Speaker 2>Pick it up. All Right, that does it for the headlines.
<v Speaker 1>Let's wrap up the poll question from yesterday, and then
<v Speaker 1>we will end the week with the Bomb twelve.
<v Speaker 2>But first let's do the poll question.
<v Speaker 1>Have you ever purchased in game currency for someone as
<v Speaker 1>a gift? Twenty seven percent of people responded with yes
<v Speaker 1>to this question and said no, Yeah, it's like one
<v Speaker 1>in four people have have done this. It sounds like
<v Speaker 1>it's becoming more popular, or at least it's becoming something
<v Speaker 1>that younger gamers are requesting more frequently. Is just get
<v Speaker 1>me currency in a game, so v Bucks and roebucks
<v Speaker 1>and all that stuff. Have you ever done this as
<v Speaker 1>a as a as a gift purchase before?
<v Speaker 3>John No and my kid cousins are fully into the
<v Speaker 3>Pokemon card scene, and their parents are pretty strict on
<v Speaker 3>what games they let them play and usually come to
<v Speaker 3>me just asking, Hey, do you think this is cool
<v Speaker 3>or not? And so I personally do, Oh, I guess
<v Speaker 3>I have does gifting a battle pass count? I definitely
<v Speaker 3>gifted a couple of during the pandemic one just to
<v Speaker 3>get them to play I think Fortnite for me because
<v Speaker 3>I was bored and it was free so people would
<v Speaker 3>actually play with me.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I guess it's it's at least related, and like
<v Speaker 1>they're adjacent by just actually kind of buying the battle
<v Speaker 1>pass feels like just doing the next step for them.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, So I guess technically not, although I do give
<v Speaker 3>e Shop money to a lot of friends, or I
<v Speaker 3>give like PlayStation or Steam gift cards to a lot
<v Speaker 3>of people. So I this has not happened for me yet.
<v Speaker 3>Has it happened for you? Have you done it?
<v Speaker 1>But my kids do occasionally ask for Minecraft money. That's
<v Speaker 1>so I will I will get them that for like
<v Speaker 1>kind of like as their allowance. Really is the way
<v Speaker 1>we look at it a little bit, although we've started
<v Speaker 1>doing other things for that, so it's it's in vogue
<v Speaker 1>and then it's out, and then it comes back suddenly
<v Speaker 1>where now they're like, they remember they really like Minecraft
<v Speaker 1>and they want to get another thing. I when I
<v Speaker 1>had like nieces and nephews, they're a little bit older,
<v Speaker 1>like in college and high school, and so I would
<v Speaker 1>get them like games for their three DS and stuff
<v Speaker 1>like that when they were younger, So it was a
<v Speaker 1>little bit before this time. All right, no new poll question.
<v Speaker 1>Because it is Friday, We're gonna do the Bomb twelve.
<v Speaker 1>We'll wrap up the show with that. So let's get
<v Speaker 1>some of this other stuff out of the way. John Martin,
<v Speaker 1>where can people find you on the internet? What do
<v Speaker 1>you have going on and all that good stuff?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean not much going on right now, getting
<v Speaker 3>ready to travel for Thanksgiving, So you can find me
<v Speaker 3>on Blue Sky at John Martin. I'll tweet when I'm
<v Speaker 3>doing something. Yeah, I'm still working on videos. It turns
<v Speaker 3>out doing video essays take a lot of time, doing
<v Speaker 3>a lot of recording for things. So yeah, I'm just
<v Speaker 3>kind of hanging out on Blue Sky and just making
<v Speaker 3>jokes and stuff excellent.
<v Speaker 1>Well, thank you for being on the show. We appreciate it.
<v Speaker 1>Let's see here, Giant Bomb, Giant Bomb, Giant Bomb has
<v Speaker 1>other stuff happening today. I'm got me go ahead and
<v Speaker 1>pop the calendar open, make sure that we know exactly
<v Speaker 1>when that's happening. Yes, so we will be doing unprofessional Fridays,
<v Speaker 1>Just Dance Edition because that is going to be the
<v Speaker 1>winner of that poll over on deekou Deals. We will
<v Speaker 1>be playing Just Dance basically. By that, I mean I'll
<v Speaker 1>be streaming Just Dance and I'll be dancing, and then
<v Speaker 1>the rest of the crew will be following along and
<v Speaker 1>dancing at home like it's basically a YouTube video, which
<v Speaker 1>is how the majority of kids play Just Dance anyhow,
<v Speaker 1>So we are going to teach Mike how to Dougie.
<v Speaker 2>We'll see if we can do.
<v Speaker 3>That's yeah, I'm ready for that. I got it tuned
<v Speaker 3>in for that.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, it's gonna be a real good stuff, so don't
<v Speaker 1>miss out on that.
<v Speaker 2>It'll be it'll be a fun time, all right.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>And then next week's a short week. Uh, some other
<v Speaker 2>stuff we should say.
<v Speaker 1>Let's uh, the site is gonna be frozen in like
<v Speaker 1>the first week of December. You should log into the
<v Speaker 1>original giant bomb dot com site right now if you
<v Speaker 1>have not in like the last couple of years, to
<v Speaker 1>make sure that your account doesn't get deleted, because we're
<v Speaker 1>gonna launch the new site and when that happens, there's
<v Speaker 1>no going back, so see anything else.
<v Speaker 2>We'll join the.
<v Speaker 1>Wiki Street team to help Chuck build out the wiki.
<v Speaker 1>And yeah, I think that's I think that's good. I
<v Speaker 1>think we're clear there. All right, John, you know what
<v Speaker 1>that means. It's time for the Bomb twelve. Let's get
<v Speaker 1>to the twelve games that really matter to people who
<v Speaker 1>are really playing video games.
<v Speaker 2>I have the results right here.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, this is four November twenty First, you know, I'm
<v Speaker 1>just gonna update that live. Let's show everyone how we
<v Speaker 1>can magically update things twenty First, there we go.
<v Speaker 2>All right.
<v Speaker 1>Number twelve is absolum number eleven more souls, which I
<v Speaker 1>do you know what kind of game that is. I
<v Speaker 1>keep seeing the name, and I've checked out a couple times,
<v Speaker 1>and then it immediately weaves my head what kind of
<v Speaker 1>game it is.
<v Speaker 2>There's a reason I haven't picked it up though.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, no clue. I have no idea what that game is. Actually.
<v Speaker 2>People seem people seem to really like it.
<v Speaker 1>I just so there's some reason I'm not clicking with
<v Speaker 1>the idea enough to go check it out.
<v Speaker 2>People, Yeah games, don't check it out. I will.
<v Speaker 1>I think that the best way to solve the problem
<v Speaker 1>I'm having right now of not knowing what it is
<v Speaker 1>is to just go play it. Number ten Fortnite, the
<v Speaker 1>Simpsons doing work over there. Number nine Demon School something
<v Speaker 1>that we should check out, maybe maybe before Thanksgiving. Rad
<v Speaker 1>definitely do. That game is so fun. We'll see if
<v Speaker 1>we can make that happen. Number eight Luminas Arise, Number
<v Speaker 1>seven Ghost of Yota, Number six Kirby Air Riders, and
<v Speaker 1>early showing on the charter will probably be higher next week.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe we'll see. Number five is Ballpit.
<v Speaker 1>Number four Hades two, which has kind of been in
<v Speaker 1>that range, like just outside the top three for a
<v Speaker 1>couple of weeks. Now it's like just constantly hovering around
<v Speaker 1>people playing Hades Too, number three, Arc Raiders, number two,
<v Speaker 1>The Outer Worlds Too, and number one the last entries
<v Speaker 1>in its episodic structured Dispatch really coming together, and we
<v Speaker 1>actually we saw like charts of its Steam Concurrent players
<v Speaker 1>where it would shoot up when new episodes would come
<v Speaker 1>out and they would drop off, and then the next
<v Speaker 1>week it would shoot up but even higher, and it
<v Speaker 1>kept doing that.
<v Speaker 2>Week after weeks.
<v Speaker 1>So it really seems like the episodic structure for Dispatch
<v Speaker 1>worked in its favor in a.
<v Speaker 2>Lot of ways.
<v Speaker 1>It helps that it's just a really really good game
<v Speaker 1>and has a great story and looks great.
<v Speaker 2>It just kind of nails everything over there. So that's
<v Speaker 2>your number one for this week.
<v Speaker 1>If you think another game should be on here, well
<v Speaker 1>you can have your saying next week's the Bomb twelve.
<v Speaker 2>Go to giant bomb dot com.
<v Speaker 1>I post a blog post there where you can find
<v Speaker 1>a link at the bottom to a form where you
<v Speaker 1>could submit your game for the Bomb twelve.
<v Speaker 2>All right, I think that's going to do it.
<v Speaker 1>John, thank you once again for hanging out with me
<v Speaker 1>today and talking about video games.
<v Speaker 2>Man. I really appreciate it.
<v Speaker 3>Of course. Jeff anytime, love being here, love the Giant
<v Speaker 3>Bond audience, and yeah, it was a good time today.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you all for watching and listening. You are the
<v Speaker 1>best audience in gaming. Until next time, have a good one,
<v Speaker 1>take care of yourself and goodbye.
