In today's story, we learn about Rosie and her experiences at her house.
Strange noises and eerie presence, and even full blown apparitions like Doppelgainers that mimick
her begin to come around the house more often stick around as she tells us
her story as it happened. My name is Edward and he hears Rosy's true
scary story. The first experience I had would have to be after moving back
in with my brother and sister with my grandparents. The living room was also
called the back room. It was an addition to the house that my great
grandfather on my mom's side built. It resulted in us having two backyards that
separated with an old wooden fence that he had put up. That room was
connected to a living room and a dining room, and across both of those
was the hallway, and that was where my room was. At that time,
we had those old rickety wooden floors the walls that would creak. My
great grandma on my grandpa's side would travel from Washington to California due to her
health, needing someone to take care of her, she would share a room
with me. I had no problem with sharing. I was always afraid of
the dark as it was. One night I was sitting in the living room
I had have been about ten thirty at night. I was getting ready to
go to bed. I shut the TV off. I opened my door slow
enough to where it wouldn't wake my grandma up. The curtain in my room
at the time was a bed sheet that I had pinned the corner of it
up. What triangle of light was shining onto the bed. I could see
my grandma's feet up to her hips. It guided my way to the bed.
I crawled onto the bed. I put my hands on the bed.
I started to crawl from her feet over to my side. And when I
looked up from the sheets to my area where I was going, it looked
like something was kneeling over my grandma, looking at her. Before I can
react to what I had originally seen, I can't describe it anything other than
it lunging at me. I snailed my way up the bed, dragging face
across the sheets. I refused her lift my head up. I got into
my spot. I crawled under the blankets. I got as close to my
grammar as I could. I just went to sleep. Over the next couple
of nights, I would hear my grandma crying. She was having a very
active, sad dream. I asked her about it. She told me she
had been having dreams of her son who had passed away years prior. I
don't know if what this thing was was causing her to have those dreams,
or why it would want to scare me. Till this day, don't really
know how or whom it was. After that experience, there wasn't anything for
quite some time. My grandma that was living with us had passed away of
lung cancer. I was about maybe a sophomore in high school. I was
sitting on the couch one night watching TV in the living room. The way
the couch is set up in the room is it's in the middle. There
are two windows to the right of you, a sliding glass door, and
a window behind you, a sliding glass door right in front of you.
I got a call from an ex boyfriend. It wasn't the best call.
I felt very emotionally charged, angry. I was crying. I called my
friend and she helped me calm down. Even after that phone call, I
still didn't feel okay. I was just listening to music. I felt this
overwhelming sense as if my grandpa was just standing there, as if he was
just watching me this whole time. I look around and I don't see anybody.
So I start adjusting the curtains on the windows because I feel very uncomfortable
right now. All the lights are on. I'm sitting in the middle of
the couch. I look around behind me on the window. I hear you.
I did not look. I froze. I looked quickly. There was
nobody there. The windows that are on the right side of you on this
couch, tap tap tap tap. I knew it was real after that point.
The sliding glass door in front of me, tap tap tap, It
was like somebody had poured ice water down my back. It was pulled apart
from between. Is somebody out there? To what if somebody's not there?
To get from one window to the other, you'd have to open that gate
and go through it from the outside. And there's no opening that gate without
hearing it from the front yard. It was dead, silent in the door
of the night. I called some friends say light in the mood for me.
I was able to go to sleep that night. As the years went
on, I look back, I leave that whatever was there was trying to
distract me from what I had felt in that moment, the feeling of just
the anger and the sadness from that phone call. Instead of crying, it
said hey, look at me. I'm over here, now look at me.
I never felt afraid after being able to think of it like that.
It felt like it was trying to distract me from my feelings at the time,
because I can tell you I definitely was not thinking about that phone call
after that. It might have been my grandma, because she was the type
of person to when you were sad, she wouldn't comfort you as much as
she would try to tickle you or what are you doing? What are you
doing? I do believe my grandma might have been there that night, sort
of just trying to help me cope with whatever she could. I did keep
very quiet about this experience. I didn't know what my family would think of
me. My mom I had a connection with her. I would talk to
her, and finally I broke down and said, hey, have you ever
heard tapping on the windows? I didn't know if she would think I was
crazier anything like that. When she told me, her exact response was the
window we used to sleep next to at night. Yeah, I heard it,
and I don't know where it would come from, and it would freak
me out too, without me ever saying anything else. It made me feel
cold. In that moment, it was real. I also used to play
video games a lot on the computer. The computer was set in the dining
room at this point in time. Connected to the dining room was the kitchen.
In the middle of the two separating rooms was the garage door. I
was playing games with my friends that night. Threw my head, so it
was like a rattling noise. I take my headset off. I look over
the door knoll to the garage was rattling as if somebody was trying to open
it. It's locked, and it was rattling back and forth, and the
door was shaking. I didn't move. I could hear my friends playing in
the game. Reality sort of stopped for a second for me. I hear
a woman. I don't know what she's saying, but I can hear her.
I can't make out what she says. In the time with me listening
from the computer, my grandfather woke up. He walked right out of his
room into the kitchen, down to the garage unlocked it went out there to
go smoking his cigarettes, and I never told him what I had just heard.
I never told him what was there, that anything was happening. I
sort of just let him be. I never really told him about that experience.
I didn't really tell anybody. I did get in contact with my family.
I had my mom tell me a couple of things. I reached out
to my brother, my grandfather, and he will swear he's never experienced anything.
I just don't think that he's open to understanding and experience. Maybe they
don't want to show him there here. He is very honri that there is
an afterlife and you don't stay here, which that's fine. There was a
time it was the middle of the day my sister was she was very little.
She was taking a shower down the hallway. I was in that living
room watching TV. She comes walking down the hallway wrapped in a towel,
laughing at me, just laughing. I'm looking at her kind of confused,
like what's so funny? And she told me that she seen me. I
told her, I've been sitting in this living room watching TV this whole time.
She told me that she had seen me, and I responded with no
you didn't either. That kid can act where I just watched all of the
color drains from her face, and she told me that I was outside of
the window lifting a stick into the air, getting her attention, making it
funny. I had scared her by telling her it wasn't me, so I
told her to get dressed. Come on, let's let's go look outside.
Let's go see what's going on. We walked out to the backyard and the
bathroom window is a lifted window. I'm five, wonder as it is.
I can't reach that window if I wanted to. In the mud by the
bathroom window, there's a there's a pretty stick there. Next to the stick
is an indentation where the stick was in the mud. This window was still
placed in our backyard. It was open to anybody else being able to get
to it. I sort of just let it be because I didn't want to
scare my little sister too much. But this next experience, there was no
saving her from it. Hear the rest of her story right after stay words.
Me and my sister used to share a room. We were sleeping.
We would sleep with the TV on because it would make her comfortable. It
would also make me comfortable at night, sleeping with it on. I woke
up in a fog. I can see the blur of the light from the
TV, and I could hear crying, but not just crying, like scream
crying, coming from my sister's bed, which was parallel to mine. I
couldn't quite comprehend what was going on. Why. I can stately hear at
the end of my bed a tapping on the window and it goes away.
As I'd become more aware, I sat up. I told my sister to
just come lay in bed with me. Come, come lay in bed with
me. It's gonna be okay. She does. I let a day go
by. Then I asked her, why were you crying that night? She
told me that somebody was tapping on the windows and it scared her. We
had a family dog who would not hurt anybody. That dog was everybody's best
friend. I was watching TV in the living room one night. You can
see down the hallway from the couch, and our family dog's name was Lucy,
and Lucy was sitting. She was a very lazy dog. By this
time. She was probably in somebody's bed, sleeping anywhere on the ground,
sleeping, so She's not usually perked up staring down the hallway at this time
of night, especially for her age, it is creeped me out. I've
always believed that animals could have sort of sensed things that we can't, but
I wasn't trying to feed into it. I'm watching my show. I'm looking
at her. She starts huffing like into the darkness. I'm like, come
on, Lucy, like you're gonna wake people up. I start calling for
Lucy, Kamir, come here. She starts huffing into the darkness. I
stare, maybe there is something there. What does she see that I don't.
I'm staring from the blackness of the hallway, where it seemed like nothing
existed, emerged a human sized black mist, like an exhaust from a car
being shot out. It went into the kitchen with speed. She started barking.
I started crying all panic ensus I seen this. I'm panicking. I'm
scared. I'm not going to walk down that hallway to go get my grandpa.
I pick up my phone and I call him. He is in the
hallway room. I'm crying. I'm telling him I saw something go down the
hallway. I don't know what it was I'm scared. He comes out in
his boxers down the hallway with speed. He looks at me and he gives
me a hug, and he comforts me. I tell him I saw something
run from down the hallway into the kitchen. Lucy saw it too. He
walks into the kitchen, turns a light on, turns to me and says,
you should never be afraid in your own house house, and proceeds to
walk to the garage to smoke a cigarette. When my grandpa told me that
you should never be afraid of anything in your own it wasn't anything new to
me. He has told me that, saying, since I was very young,
very young, we used to leave the front doors unlocked while we'd go
to sleep, windows open. He was never a freed my grandfather. I've
rarely seen him cry. That man is very brave, But at that moment,
it did not feel very comforting to hear that. After what I had
solved. There were things that my sister told me when she was very little
that freaked me out, because howdads a five six year old know something about
family that hasn't been alive since I was four. This house was full of
pictures, pictures is nothing new to my family. We love our developed photos.
And in those photos were photos of my mom from the time my sister
was born till actually present day. My mom isn't big. In the conversation
at the house, there was the picture of my mom in one of these
photos. You know, it didn't stand out more than ania the other one.
I take it to my little sister and I said, do you know
who this is? This little girl has never met or talked to this woman,
and with confidence, she looks at me and she said, that's mom.
I look at this kid, and I told her you who told you
that? She said, Grandma Pauline told me my great grandmother, who passed
away of all his timers in the same room that we currently shared, had
told her who her mother was. I sort of accepted it for what it
was. Oh, Grandma Pauline told you, Okay, cool, I'm gonna
go panic over there now. I didn't want to scare my sister. My
whole goal was never to scare her, but to never make her think that
what she see wasn't real or to disregard, because that's how I felt a
lot of the time was it was disregarded I am scared of that though.
I asked my mom recently, because my mom did up in this house as
well, did you ever experience anything more growing up here? She told me
she found. She doesn't know if they're still there, but I believe that
the ashes of my grandma's babysitter was in our closet. That woman didn't have
any family, so I suppose my grandma took her ashes in. I don't
know the reasoning behind it, was that the person I seen with my grandma,
has it been her the whole time? I asked my brother In recent
years we started talking again and I threw it out there, like do you
believe in the paranormal? Not really sure what he was gonna say, he
said yeah. And when I asked him, do you have anything about home?
He said at nighttime he would hear Mary, Mary coming from down the
hallway. It was the voice of my great grandma Pauline, who would seek
care from my grandma. At the time, he wouldn't go to the bathroom
at night. Sometimes he would hear her calling from that bedroom. The one
time he did go to the bathroom, he ended up staying in there for
a long time because he heard her calling while he was down there. That
bathroom door is right next to that bedroom door, and he just stayed there.
Mary is my grandma who died of lung cancer. There's a lot of
grandma's in the story. My great grandma was her mom. Yeah, grandma
was taking care of her mother, who had alz Timer's. She passed away
in that room. I think the activity was charged by I would say,
my grandma who passed away of lung cancer. She wasn't the happiest person in
life. She didn't feel very miserable in a lot of things. And as
much as I loved Terry, it was very hard to show it. She
might not have wanted to do anything malicious or vicious to anybody. I don't
think she wanted to leave that house, and she made it very apparent before
the cancer kind of took over and made it hard for her to remember who
everybody was, that she was afraid of dying. After she did die,
I had a series of dreams with her. I can't say whether she was
visiting me. There was something about those dreams that was very different than every
other one. It felt like her. The version of her in my dreams
wasn't a version that I made up, or or something my conscience would make
up to sort of comfort me. She was there a little bit after she
had passed away. The dining room was cleaned out. My grandma liked to
hoard things. I had a dream of her guiding me down the hallway,
telling me where is my stuff? What did you guys do with all of
my stuff? Where did it go? I had dreams of her coming to
the garage. She always wore this pink robe. She always had a styrofoam
cup with her. She would always put ice water in it. I had
a dream that I was in the garage. She came out to the garage,
looked at me, went back into the house. When I went after
her, I opened the door and she was not there. She wanted me
to come. I don't know if my grandma ever left. I don't know
if she's okay. I do believe that if something is going to be there,
it would be her. The last dream I had with my grandma,
she was behind the hospital where she got her chemotherapy treatment. She was in
a lawn chair, just relaxing. I remember standing there. She was telling
me that it's your fault, it's your guys's fault, trying to blame us
for what happened to her. I never talked back to my grandma. You
you don't talk back to your grandma. I told her, this isn't our
fault. You can't blame us anymore. She looked at me. I remember
waking up. I never seen her again. She was gone. A lot
of my dreams, those experiences, those shadows, they did feel very different.
I wouldn't say anything was evil. I I don't know who they could
have been. I don't know if my grandma Pauline was there. Maybe she
just didn't want to make herself known to me. She seemed to have made
herself known to my other siblings. The first thing I always start off with
when I tell my friends or when I am telling somebody new, is you
do not have to believe me. I'm not telling you this for you to
believe me or to get a reaction out of you, or I'm telling you
this because I want people to know that this stuff is real. I want
you to know that. You know, if you're going to come over to
my house, I want you to be aware of it. My friend Danny,
my best friend, She's been over to my house. She used to
spend the night a lot. One thing that she would say would creep her
out was when she would be in her I would leave her in the living
room. Maybe you don't go to the kitchen to paris a snack or go
to my room to grab something. She said that she would hear the walls
cracking around her, but is an old house. It is very weird for
walls to just start randomly cracking and in senses of continuously cracking. My mom
also said that that house is very old. The floors under the carpet are
hardwood. They creak. She would hear people walking up and down the hallway
at night, but when she'd go out, there was nobody there. My
mother recently set me photos of me throughout time at that house. The one
thing my grandma did do a lot was carry a camera around with her.
There are two photos of me where it is very clear that it dust.
These spherical things are everywhere. There were more still photos and a very spherical
orb is seen either right next to me or right above my head. Some
of these pictures I took myself on a camera, so I know that nobody
else was around me till this day. My mom is still very afraid.
Since I left, I haven't experienced anything. Luckily, it seems like some
of my family is still living with those experiences. If next, check out
