00:00:00 Speaker 1: I welcome to episode one or seven. There's no guest today, it is only me, so we catch up onns of things. First of all, I was watching one of the commercials for American Idol, which comes back tonight. I have no idea how good it's gonna be. I haven't seen really any of it. I mean, I know the kids that have made the many kids, some of them were twenty six, I guess, but I haven't seen any of it. So I'm as anxious as anyone is to see it. The I heart ready of Music Awards or tonight too, so you have to be an interesting not on TV. But the story that I read was about the O. J. Simpson show that's out on Fox tonight at the exact same time I've seen that, where it's him basically admitting to killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, and how it's a stunt for Fox to put this show out at the same time that American Idols out because Fox used to have American Idol. They don't want to see Idol do well. And I watched to go. I see that story, and I just go. If I want to watch both of them, I just record one of them. It's not I don't ever go, well, I have to pick, we'll get to see the other one. Yeah, I mean ten years ago, twenty years ago, I would go, well, after the side, am I gonna watch Murphy Brown? Or am I gonna watch Rosanne? You know what? Do you have to do that anymore? So there's big drama about who's gonna get the viewers if you weren't gonna watch I'll watch Idol probably for the most I may watch the I Heart Awards live and then maybe watch Idol back. I don't care about the o J stuff because that's just gross to me at this point. But the fact there's a big story about someone trying to uh jump in and take ratings live, that's that's weird. I don't watch I really don't watch anything live anymore except sports. That's the only thing that I really watched live unless the occasional awards show. Yeah, but even then I didn't watch much of it was the last one thestars watch those That's probably the last thing I watch live. But have to watch sports live, and that's what we'll keep network television somewhat alive medium because otherwise people just don't watch TV anymore. Live like they used to. They're still a massive number that does it, but you're seeing it kind of eat away. And that doesn't mean TV is going away. It just means those shows will be consumed differently, not just by the box that comes through the magical sky to the house or however it comes through the land. I don't know how it gets to the house. I don't even know how TV works. I gonna be honest, I don't know how radio works, and radio for seventeen twenty years now, which is crazy. I've been a radio longer than half my life at this point. But yeah, so uh tonight the big stunt from Foxes that they're putting O J up against American Idol, except I think most people have DVR at this point. I think radio is kind of doing the same thing to where radio will always exist much like television wild but it's uh, there's many people who aren't going to be able to hear it live. And if they're not able to hear it live, they're like, Okay, cool, I'll just check it out later, so it doesn't drive them to go listen to it live. So then you have to prepare your shows, and that that fashion so for me, there's been a shift in how I did the radio show now where I do want people to listen live, but I also want people to feel like if they can't, then it's still available for them. And does it sacrifice ratings, Yeah, probably at times. But I think if you're gonna if somebody's gonna canniballize you, it might as well be yourself. Somebody that's missing my show, they're gonna find something to listen to later anyway, so it might as well be me. I've always seen it, even back in the day whenever we we were really one of the first shows. This is a long time ago, to go hey, cool, listen online. You listen. We don't get any ratings to be listen online nothing. But whenever radio is gonna be a real streaming thing, I would get told program directors they don't do that because you're your audience, that you're not getting any ratings credit because you have to be listening to the radio with the desired there's there's there's a way the ratings happened. I don't think I can talk about it. I'm not sure how that works, but um and say, hey, don't do that because they're listening online, then they're not listening to the show, and you're not gonna get no ratings. Even now with Alexas and we're saying, hey, listen on Alexa, Hey listen on I Heart Radio. We don't get any ratings for that. I'm completely content with no ratings because I don't give a crap about ratings anymore. I can look at the cities that were dominating him and go, we're probably not that big. And I can look at cities that were just really sucking hind tit in and be like, you know what, We're much bigger than that, because I can go and sell two thousand tickets, and then I can go online and look at the way people are consuming the podcasts of the show or this one and go, Okay, this is a more realistic approach because I there are certain places. I'll give you Austin, for example, if we're not in the top three in Austin, ever, I just kind of roll my eyes because I go, Okay, that's not true. Like Austin is my favorite city in the world, and I love it, but we spent I spent twelve thirteen years. I still lived there a part time, and the great thing about it is I can't walk down the street without somebody go on, hey, Boby Bones. If I walk down the street, somebody's gonna stop me, and that's awesome. And if bob FM, which is all music, has higher ratings, that go okay. I don't even know if this rating system is anymore, um, but yeah, that's the same thing with television. Everything is moving to on demand when this podcast too. You know, we we haven't done one of these in a while where I just kind of stopped down in the next six months, We've just got to buy a studio and started our own studio. I mean we I guess did I buy all this stuff? It's like stuff you just have laying around, you know, pretty much? Yeah, this are we're a hundred where we at d hundred seven episodes, way over hundred hours of content. You know. This is um what just started out as me being curious about songwriters and produce. There's not even so much artists at first, and the artist think kind of fell in because the artists wanted to come and talk about their music a layer deeper than they normally get to. And so um, this has turned, as I've said before, much bigger than I ever thought, because it was just a passion project. And our studio is just in my bedroom in my house. We have a couple of chairs, by the way, don't look good on camera because everybody's always so slouchy over in the chairs because they're so comfortable. We have a mixing board that's very tiny, a couple of computers. I don't I mean, it's just really a junkyard up here. There's a munch parts. So in the next six months or so, we have to commit to building a better studio and I don't know what that means yet. Okay, kind of looking at designs, I mean, I like how comfortable this is, but it's kind of tedious to have to because you have to walk around like three things and don't step on the power outlet, and yeah, it is. It's kind of like you're trying to get that middle seat at Thanksgiving dinner when everybody has to get up or or walking out of the movies when resident moves their legs in, Like that's how you have to get positions here. Let me talk about life. I have smart talking about I talk about LifeLock for a second. More bad news about that huge data is the printer dead like I'm trying to read it is man al right, I mean I know enough about lifelocks not even worry about the printer. But over two point four million Americans were impacted with that breech that happens. So it's like a hundred fifty million Americans. Let me just tell you this. All this aside lots of threats and if any of your little links in your chain of the cloud or broken, somebody can get in. So what happens is LifeLock is added uh the power of Norton Security to help you against threats. So I have LifeLock. As I said this personally, I have it. I love it. No one can stop every side birth threat, prevent all identities after monitor transactions at all businesses. But new LifeLock with Norton Security is able to uncover threat you might otherwise miss. Go to LifeLock dot com or called one LifeLock, use the promo code bones for an additional ten percent off your first year. Use the promo code bones at LifeLock dot com for an additional ten percent off your first year. I had my life flock go off, called it two days ago because um, and it's some bank stuff, and they use a different bank, and my computer phone everything was like and so I clicked into it and said, this is your bank. But I mean they're a quick man. So anyway, if you haven't tried LifeLock, let me just let me tell you about it. It's awesome, and use the promo code bones laflock dot com and then the promo code is bones. Where was I Let me tell you about this book. I'm not selling it now because nothing's out yet. Maybe by the time you hear this it will be out. But there are these what they call limited edition cover pages and do you see downstairs covered? Holy crap, there's probably two thousand cover pages for me to sign. Uh, and I heard my hand boxing, so I've been uh signing them with an injured hands. Of people should really feel sorry for me. Woe is me? But what happened was I they sent all these boxes of sheets and apparently whenever you write a book, and as soon as they have the title in the announced state, they have to load it through a system which Amazon picks up which and so it's up. There's no cover as of right now. Again, by the time you hear this there maybe, but um, there's also a page on some collectible website where people are already ordering signed books, not just books that don't exist yet, but signed books that don't exist yet. People were ordering them before I even had the cover sheet of this paper. So those b Chambers are hardcore. Man. They found it, they've been ordering it, and I don't put the link out. I did like it once, and I think sometimes when you like something, bull see it sometimes. But yeah, they're hardcore. Ah. I think I actually get the finished book back next week and I haven't read it all the way through without editing it at all. So what I get back next week is the burnt CD is done. You can hate, do you actually that you you burnt that song from Coldplay on there? But you can't really take it off your your list. It's it's there. So I'm a little nervous about that. I have the audio book the I'm recording, which is gonna take me twelve hours. So for me, I was a little bit of a diva because I'm not going to record over two hours at a time just because I have a radio show to do with his voice. If I lose a voice, I'm done. So usually people will go in and do to six hour sessions and said, I'm not doing that, You're crazy. I'll do six two hour sessions. And even then, if I have finished the show and go and do read the audio book, and my voice isn't feeling good because I just spent four and a half hours, five hours, probably like four and a half because at nine ten we don't do crap. Um, then I'm walking out because more than this book, I have to protect it for the radio show. And so I don't know if that was being a diva or for once just going this is just how I feel about this. Um. But yeah, it's six two hour sessions to read the book. The book is not even that long. I think it's two hundred pages in or out. It's easy to read too. But yeah, that's man, that's that's so grueling too, because you'll sit when you read an audio book and you're going they'll put you in a booth, not even a good recording studio booth. It's not like when I record records. Go it's fancy studio producers all around here, and you want, hey, won't you do this? Hey? It's like a year old man who's sitting there playing to dooku, not giving a crap, just going all right, let me know when you're done. And I just read, I just read, now go I'm gonna do that again. It just looks up like yeah, yeah, and you just kind of like go, go go ahead whatever I care. So yeah, it isn't that's that's one of the worst parts that is happening to the audio book back. But the whole process isn't bad. I never thought I was gonna write a second book. I've oddly been offered a third book now, and not even because of the second book. I think I'm I mean and where this has been an announcement, but I think we're months out. I haven't signed anything. But I think I'm gonna do a kid's book finally, which hopefully the second book does well and then people will want the kids book. We don't w u till next year. But yeah, I think that's the thing. I don't know what it's going to be about. I don't know if I should even say that at this point, but I think it's gonna be a kid's book. When you hear this, it could be before the big announcement on Monday, probably is after, but I'm still not going to spoil it for those. But we held out a uh six days or so to hold this big announcement that we had on the air. And let me just say everything's changing, man, without getting everything. Everything is changing. So yeah, I would say too much, but everything is changing since the Sunday I've been up here. I guess this whole weekend is hanging out with the dog. What I haven't talked about in the era when I was in Los Angeles shooting some TV stuff because I did, I did, I don't. I did one other show too, but not a big show, not anything to get crazy about. I guess I've done two other shows that did a reality show too for a couple of episodes. Do you know that one too? Right? Again, nothing, it's nothing. I'm even holding out. It's just I don't know if it's a big deal or not. But I got a call from the vet. They found cancer on my dogs, um a couple of his organs. So I didn't really say something about it on the show yet because m hmm. This really is kind of a downer and everyone knows that yet a blood cancer. But the thing about the blood cancer was and in the sarcoma and again, I am no expert by any means, but whenever it happened him, I started looking it up in dogs. What happens is if it's a blood cancer, it's obviously in the blood, and the blood is everywhere in the body, so it could have popped up anywhere that there's blood flow, and it did, and they found some little parts on a couple of his organs, and they gave him a few weeks. He's super healthy, are you seeming? He's super healthy? So, I mean, there's nothing different about him right now, nothing except he sleeps a little more, and that's just because he's older. But that's been obviously a huge downer for me, just because he's close close to fifteen years old. And I've had him my really my complete adult life. I mean when I was eighteen now still, I mean out of college, right when I finished college. I consider myself an adult, and so have I got him at twenty two twenty yeah, right out and so thirty seven now, so I had to be twenty three. But yeah, man, but yeah, that sucks. So we've just been hanging out. The christ thing about a dog being sick is that he doesn't know he's sick. So I often wonder what I want to know, because I think there's a beauty to not knowing that there's someone pending awfulness happening. And maybe I don't know there's something wrong with me right now, but there's lots of things wrong with me, but something maybe I don't know there's something wrong. Yeah, because for me, I always I don't even fear death anymore. If it just happens, I don't want to drag people through it with me, meaning I don't want to get this long sickness, and if there are people in my life have them have to struggle through with me, I would rather just be boom, I'm gone and then let's just deal with it. No, not me, I'm dead. I'm nothing happen to me anyway. I'm out, like blackness over. I don't exist anymore. But then you just start the grieving process instead of the oh, it's really crappy waiting for you to die and then you're dead, that part of it. But yeah, he doesn't know he's dying, so like there's a a little bit of solace in that. But we just hang out and he gets irritated because I won't take him outside near as much as he normally goes Monday through Friday when he goes on walks, I don't go walking. I won't even walk on my dog with cancer. That's how much I hate checking my dog on a walk. I don't even like walking. I never like walking with banks girlfriends and be like, hey, let's go for a walk. Why do I want to go for a walk? Where are we going? If I want to exercise, I will go for a run to actually get the exercise in. But why do I want to walk when I have a car. If I'm not really getting any cardiovascular advantage from this, Let's just drive to the ice cream shot instead of walking there. We get there to get back turn Netflix on a roll. Yeah, I've never been a walker. Uh, let me talk about sleep number real quick and we'll get these two sponsors out of the way. I mean out of the way. I love them both very much. But sleep number is awesome. I have a sleep number bed and there's one probably thirty feet from me right now. And what happens with a sleep number is you go what to have? It happened with me? Was I? It was a sleeping great. I still really don't sleep well, but I was really sleeping terribly. And I got this bed because I went to a store and I laid on the bed and you look at the screen. The one that I went to had one on the ceiling and you can see your body, and so I looked the screen and they said, okay, here's your back and your neck in the alignment. Why don't we change the bed to this. They did, and they gave me my sleep number setting, which is a thirty. So it did change for me, like no crap, it did. It's so comfortable, and if you're sharing a bed with somebody else, you guys can actually have both sides different. So I would recommend a sleep number bed for you. The sleep number of Queen Matchers started only eight hundred bucks. I think it's the eight hundred, as the printer is terrible here, but I do think it's maybe it's six. I don't know. Sleep number dot com slash bones and you can see where a store is near you. I can tell. All I can tell you for sure is that my bed is awesome. I really enjoy it. I I guess it's up here on the screen too, huh. I got it, I gotta I gotta got it. But anyway, I do enjoy the sleep number. This isn't your email or what. Just pull it up. I just want to make sure that I have the that price right on that. There we go, by the way, sleeping over bed start at only there it is, thank you very much. What do you do on Sundays? On Sundays, I have to go for a really long run in the morning. I saw you run like ten miles normal. I don't have the mental fortitude because my boredom takes over and I go, I'm so freaking bored, and then I go, it's not word of it. I'm so. It doesn't clear my head in any way. If anything, it clogs up with me getting piste off because I'm so bored. What does it do for you? It totally clears my head? What do you mean it clears your head? Well, like for the first mile two miles, I hate it and like I want to stop. I'm like, I'm only gonna be like three or four. But then after I get like that third or fourth mile, I think I hit just like a stride and I can turn my brain off and just kind of think about stuff and have music going, and it just I don't know, it kind of relaxes me because sends me a bit. When I was running a lot training for trath lines, the only way that I could get through it was looking at something five hun your feet up and running to it and then looking at something else because that would want to keep my mind occupied on finding things to run too. And then two it kept me in going instead of going. Man, at eight point three miles left, I'll go, okay, filing your feet five under feet. I had to it the whole time. What I'm just going saying I can't run on treadmills. I can't do that, okay, So your face with the treadmills. How I feel just running on the street. Yeah, I'd rather do like five miles outside than one mile on a treadmill. It's too boring. And that's how I feel about running. Like I boxed again today, and it's I say boxing. You box at the end of the last twenty or thirty minutes if you do well working out first. So it's like a training session into boxing. And so I like that because it's just different all the time. And I've stayed with this longer than I say with anything, because I did you know, I've had different trainers at the triath lines. I've done CrossFit, I've just weightlifted. This is for me because the changes so much. It's probably my favorite. Are you working out with anybody or just out running? Just running? Do you lift? Yeah? A little bit? Not much. During the week, I'll go at least two or three times. That's enough, all right, Well, I gotta sign more books. How long has its been? Twenty one minutes. That's that's probably long enough. I had signs of books. To watch some TV tonight. When are you watching them? Probably the I Heart Radio Music Awards Live and probably and idle on d v R. And then I'm watching the Americans. I'm almost caught up to where they're about to start back. Have you seen any of that? I haven't watched it right now. I don't think i'd recommend it to you. It's just so slow. I feel that the twist whenever. It seems about five years ago, TV just really got good and gritty and uncomfortable. Uncomfortable meaning like you'll watch somebody p that's not supposed to be seen in a TV show. You're like, oh, don't sit down. A peon like this stills, but it's supposed to be real life, and so I can fill in the Americans when it took a turn to start to have to keep up, and so it's pretty slow at first, but I've watched nothing else because I can't focus on two things at once, Like I watched The Walking Dead the one episode back, but I can't. I'm not gonna watch anymore until I finish The Americans, which I thought. I think The Walking deads okay now it's because I don't have anything to replace it. Probably still my favorite show, but not the one I get most excited for anymore. It used to be The Office. Probably still Walking Dead. I have one episode of Rick and Morty left, but that's different than the show where you have to keep up with it. That Rick and Morty. I was just way late to the part that show. It makes me laugh so hard. I didn't even know what it was, and I have no idea why I started watching it, but I remember going, hey, and I couldn't find it on Netflix, and it's on Hulu, and so I went to Hulu because I have a friend's account. It's not even his account, he stole it from somebody pass it over me. So I have like a third like a Grandkid account, third generation Hulu account, and I started watching it, but then a commercial would pop up every five minutes. I want to watch any of with commercial I don't even pay for the hul account. I'm piste off, but I'm watching commercials. So I I just bought it on iTunes and I've been watching it and I have one episode left, but I won't watch it because I don't want to be over because then when it's over, it's done. But that and I've been reading, like it's hard for me to read a couple of books at once because I'll get the characters and the storylines crossed over. And I started reading you haven't read since probably college? Have you ever read that? And first of all, the Guy out of the forties, And it's pretty accurate. A lot of that stuff, a lot of the stuff at Winston's going through, pretty accurate with things that are happening ish, Now would you agree with that? I have to read visiting, but you're adding so but so, And I wouldn't even recommend Ninetted for anybody unless you just feel like you need to read it. So when people reference it, it's the same thing with what was I read the book and I didn't read it in high school or college. I didn't come from that place where people were educated. Even my high school don't be read anything. Ever, we didn't read books. Luckily I was naturally intrigued to read things, or I don't think I would have ever read anything. And I still wasn't well read on into college. Considering what other high schools made their kids read, I've still never read uh Hucko Berry Finn. Now, I see I haven't read that, so yeah, I didn't read so but what was the one that Leo DiCaprio was in the movie and uh where he's the rich guy and his girl lives across the lake and sea biscuits Intoto the kept from Toby Maire. Anyway, I read that book wants to because I thought the Great Gadsbee. I thought, man, I should read this. Everybody talked about it historical. I like The Great gats But I ended up being a pretty good book, even though it's in a long time ago, this net before. I'm struggling with the bit sometimes because man, I get I'm so lazy in my media consumption. They usually just have to lay there and play dead, and you take in what they want you to take in. Not a lot of thinking involved with many shows, but with this, I have to read a paragraph sometimes and go back and read again because I'm like, wait, I don't know if I just understandstood what happened there. And I didn't read anything while I was writing because I didn't want to accidentally steal any material, because I know that I would take maybe if it's not direct material, how people right. I just didn't want any of that to fall into my already amazing writing style. Up. Yeah, so I didn't read anything for six or seven months at all. It's like, whenever I start doing comedy again, I can't. I'm done. I can't watch any stand up because I won't do it on purpose. But if I go, oh, that was really funny, and then a couple of weeks go by and I'm thinking something, Oh, yeah, I should talk about it. I don't know, just subconsciously. You may not steal the joke, but you can absolutely steal the idea. And I think even like minded people joke about the same thing so much that there's already a problem with not theft. But when someone that's like you talks about something else, you talk about it in the same way. So I think at times you see a lot of that too, where someone will go, oh, they stole my joke, when reality, it's just two people who are pretty similar talking about the same thing. So you're gonna have a somewhat similar joke. So yeah, and you have to watch out for that. Uh, I know you and I've talked about it. For what I tried to do though, is as much as I can is joke about myself because I know nobody else is gonna be writing jokes about me. I can't feel that, so I try as hard as I can. There's one joke that I it's up at my reel, which is about yoga and farting, and it's such an easy jokes. I know a hundred people have done jokes about yoga and farting. Don't haven't seen any. I don't watch it. If if something comes up, I get off of it because I but I know that's just such a common thing that they're have gotta be. And if you go to my Twitter page you'll see at the top for sure, nobody has the hobby lobby bobby joke, and that one crushes every I'm so tired of that joke, but it so I'm tired of tell I'm tired of it, you know, taking up space in my life. But I do love the reaction it gets. So it's this weird place and I have this joke about working in a hobby lobby, and the joke is at it rhymes, there's no real thought into it, and so, uh, you know, the joke is hobby lobby, this Bobby, that's how you answered the phones. And it's not just saying the rhyming. There's a little setup to it. And it kills so much that I just I had to build a secondary joke to it, which is we wrote a song hobby lobby Bobby that Once that joke it just rolls over into something else. But I know no one's ever gonna have that joke, I guess unless there's a Robbie out there lobby and I canna tell you. I'll share this. Was working on this joke with Mike d I Cinema, say hey, Mike, here's my jokes. Find this here. This is what this is. The email I said to Mike, I saday, I need a reference. It is a human but something everybody is weird it out by and here's what I've written so far, and I just put a blank, but um, this is what I've written so far. Say hey, I'm I'm totally good talking through a joke, which isn't that funny, but but people can at least listen to the process of how this works. Sorry, out of the down more and more people are decided to wait out these monster hurricanes. Apparently, let me do it like I would do it on stage. It's so different, though, to do it now there's nobody listening. So more and more people are waiting out all these monster hurricanes that come through, and we're on the radio and all these cities and so more and more listeners are going, now, I'm just gonna wait this one out like and I and I get it. I mean Hurricane Emily that I mean, it doesn't scare me a lot either. They need to make the names worse of the hurricanes. For example, if I hear the hurricane Bill Cosby's coming, and that would get a pretty good laugh. But then I knew I couldn't make the second reference because I'm doing another punch at the end. It couldn't be another person. It's actually another person. Undo the sexual predator because you could have went Harvey Weinstein if you wanted to get political. You knew if you would have done Hillary Clinton, people would would go, oh, I like Hillary Clinton. You know I have no problem, but I know that I'll sacrificed myself with a joke. Right. So the second part of the joke was, you know a guy and it's talking to his wife like, honey, h the news is saying we're about to be in the eye of hurricane blank. So that's where I left the joke and said, Mike, what are some other references? And here are the things that Mike sent me. Hurricane herpies, Hurricane hepatitis, honey, the news of saying we're we're gonna be writ in the eye of hurricane hepatitis, Hurricane panties, Hurricane fecal matter. This is what Mike sent me, by the way, Hurricane unplanned pregnancy, Hurricane mal pattern baldness. The point is, I don't think we're on it yet, but this is how joke works. And then what will happen is I will go out and I'll say it and nobody will laugh, and I'll go that one sucks. And I've spent all this time thinking about it, and I'll just go, I'm never doing that one again. And there is a thing to being in a room, and by the way that gets intertwined into a story. I won't just go and be like if we I'm watching my body. More people are sting to stay in for the hurricanes. What happens is I'll talk about something and talk about the radio show and talk about the listeners, and I said, you know, it's crazy about our listeners. You know, we're on all over Florida and off the East coast, and more of our listeners are waiting because these hurricanes are staying in. And so you know, I get it. You know, Hurricane Nicole isn't that scary? And you'll get a little laugh there. Anytime you do a funny voice about people laugh a little bit. And then I go, they didn't they have names that are scary to people, like if I heard the hurricane bill cost you is coming through. And so even jokes are so much too about what words you push on and listen, I'm c minus comic. No, I don't know, that's not even like there are greats to do it. And I go, I will never even try to be that good because this is just not what I'm great. When I think I read about this in my book, or maybe I talked about it, I think I read about my book. When Dave Chappelle talked about being funny and he said, it's just so easy to him, He's like, it's just I just write comedy. It's the easiest thing. I go, good, God, Like, what is it like to be a And but I know I have things that come easy to me, just like when Dave Haywood was in here talking about music for me, I I don't know why people like me to to the point of I'm successful on the radio and we have millions of listeners. And for some reason, I think I said this whenever that I don't announce what happened. I don't know why people I don't. I genuinely don't know. I don't think I have anything that I offer that's super awesome. But I don't know. But for some reason, I have all these awesome loyal people to me, and but I don't So I don't really know. I know that I'm good at the radio, I don't really know what it is. I don't speak well. I mumble, I have an accent, but I watched Dave Chappelle, go, Man, this comedy is easy. Sometimes I just take a punch line throwing a ball, pick it out later and write a joke about it and then perform was a joke, and I laughed out loud and thought, God, I will never be that. I could do comedy every day the rest of my life and I won't be near that good. I just want to be that good, but I don't even you know, because of that, I think I kind of set it up differently too, And I think on this tord too, I'm gonna it's gonna be a little different. I'm just not as straight ahead stand up comedian. I'm just not am I gonna be. And so that's why I do songs, That's why I do crowd stuff. I'm just there to entertain. And I gotta not worry about being a comic. So I'm not trying to press any comic comedians. What do I care? But yeah, hurricane hepatitis it is. I have just paid which I'm going on back on the road next week and I start in Colorado Springs. The weird part about that is I start in Colorado Springs and then off for two weeks. It's like one show. Because what happened was we were I was gonna do stand up in Cheyenne at a theater in Shina, Wyoming, and then go to Colorado Springs. And how a tour works, even my comedy tour. There's a reason someone doesn't do San Diego and then Boston the same weekend because it's impossible to get from one to the other. So you have to route your tour, meaning you played two areas that are somewhat close that you can get there in a day without having to fly all the way across the country and takes all day to get there. And so the routing was Colorado Springs, Cheyenne in Colorado Springs, and right before Shanne went up, the Shiant Frontier Days Festival said we want the reging idiots to come play. So then I had to decide which one that I wanted to do. And the reason I decided on Frontier Days was because the only time we played Frontier Days, we got booed off the stage. Eddie and I did and it was just him and I. It was daytime. We didn't know we were doing. The crowd hated us. There's a fist fight, you know there was, and that was what I said, we gotta do that festival, and we're we went from being the very first one playing with just two people while the crowd was just kind of walking in to being Toby Keith plays. We played right before him, but we're playing at night at like seven thirty after many other acts play. So I kind of wanted to kick it in the balls the the fact that we were boot off the stage there, so for me, so that's my point. We do Colorado Springs in that two weeks and just sit on my thumb and go, well, I can't wait for the next show. But then I go to Vegas and my and Mike D's going to m D's opening. Then Brandon Ray plays for thirty or forty minutes and I come out and my Brandon Ray come back out with me a little later. But then Vegas and we do two shows and Fresno. It's so then we kind of get on track because it's just repetition. Man, if I wanted it into one radio show a week, it just wouldn't be that good of a show because I wouldn't be It would be like working out, not stretching. You gotta get loose. You know, even if you you start slow mill of the workout, you're pretty loose. So you want to come to a show. By the way, it's Bobby Bones Comedy dot com. Somebody' kind of look at my house to buy it on Wednesday. It's not for sale. My house is not even for sale, and no one left a note in my mailbox because it happened to Amy once. So they said, hey, we're looking at houses. My realts are called me and goes, hey, we have someone and we were showing them some places and they really would like to see your house. Can we come look at it on Wednesday? My house is already be looked at, So I've decided I'm not touching my house. If they like it's so much with it being dog hair filled p on the carpet, Uh, then they want to buy it, then I'm up for them buying it. Otherwise I'm good. I don't plan on I'm not selling those house. What you can't get down? The dogs up in a chair and now it can't jump down, so he's upset. You got up there, dude, the chairs are too close. Now your space to get down here? Get up anything on your mind? MD? I'm just trying to see you get out of this. Oh, he'll jump eventually. He hates jumping out of the Jeep two because a little too high. He just thinks a nudge there he goes. Okay, that's it. Um gratings to everyone, and we're gonna go. Next up. I want to bring in some show members and talk about the five years we just had five years on the air. I think Jake Owen's coming in. When you hear this, it could be past that, but Jake O Winson come to a performance. He's been one of the people that's been here since the beginning. So he's gonna do a whole not on this podcast, but I think he's gonna do a whole hour long concert on our show to be cool. But I want to do podcast with the whole show. And we're five years into this thing. Five years of the show is never gonna make it. Well, the show is gonna make it, but no one's gonna accept it. To this show. Our show has actually changed the way the format is run now and we haven't changed at all. But us coming in and showing that we can have success opened other avenues for other people. I don't think I came in and the format went, well, we gotta change everything we're doing. I'd like to say that sometimes, but it's not true. What happened was we came in and we were completely is different than than other shows, and on a national level, and we worked in all these different pockets of America where they go, well, that show is working, why don't we maybe this, we can try this, And we were able to break some artists. And I do think that US coming to Nashville was really a change for the for the format, maybe for the worst in your opinion, maybe for the better. I don't know people that still argue about, you know, where is the real country. It still exists. It's not called Americana music that what you're looking for. They're just a label change. It's just called Americana. I probably enjoy Americana more myself because it's instruments and stories. And I like the triple A format because the songwriter reads why I do this podcast? You know, it's very uh, sit down with your guitar and drum and you know, play me a song instead of But I like all kinds of music. But people that complain about our country is not the same it's actually very similar. It's just called Americana now. It's just a shift change of the name. Like but whatever. Alright, gonna go, I'm tired. I hope you're a weeks good and we'll see you next time. And the Bobbycast coming up. We have people on deck. We have I think Lucy Sylvius is scheduled or no, she is going to do it though, yeah, um Kimberly Slapman for a little big town scheduled we have. Yeah, so we got a few.
