[SPEAKER_00]: This guy today, we're going to be continuing our coverage of the story of the War of Rax with the, get pushed from the 88 followed by the attack. [SPEAKER_00]: Bon chaos followed by a new push by the 88 and then counter attack by chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of fun. [SPEAKER_00]: You guys, we'll get there. [SPEAKER_00]: It's super cool. [SPEAKER_00]: It is hacky. [SPEAKER_00]: If they're dead on, uh, in addition, there's also links below to our other show, the history of 40K, where they're joined by Alan and some of the guests probably in the future, to discuss the history of this game on the tabletop. [SPEAKER_00]: My other show, if you love my voice, Bretro Recall, where I discuss the super fun video games of the 80s and 90s, some of them are good. [SPEAKER_00]: some of them are missed. [SPEAKER_00]: I really did hate that game for the record. [SPEAKER_00]: Really hated it. [SPEAKER_00]: But Monkey Island, super awesome game. [SPEAKER_00]: I love to say something about that. [SPEAKER_00]: It's also, it's a great game. [SPEAKER_00]: It is a super great game. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, if you want to support us and help us out, there's two great ways to do it. [SPEAKER_00]: One, link in the show not to our website, our website where you can find our merchandise. [SPEAKER_00]: You can buy that stuff, a bunch of people did and came to us at Dapticon wearing it, which was really surreal for me. [SPEAKER_00]: Super cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you guys for doing it, but was a surreal moment. [SPEAKER_00]: or our Patreon. [SPEAKER_00]: Patreon's a great way to help us out help us expand and do more stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Our Patreon's really simple. [SPEAKER_00]: It's $4.99 a month. [SPEAKER_00]: You get this show and the history of 40k ad-free, or 4.32 euros. [SPEAKER_00]: Because today we're going back to one of my absolute favorite countries to go hang out in Holland. [SPEAKER_00]: I just like the Dutch because it's the best place for me to vacation is. [SPEAKER_00]: They're big, just like me, they're funny and they can drink and kickbox. [SPEAKER_00]: I love going to Holland because it's like every hotel I fit in properly and I'll be honest, one of my concussions came from a female Dutch kickbox or inspiring. [SPEAKER_00]: I miss you, German. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, but today we're going to be covering maybe the most famous city on earth for killing Nazis. [SPEAKER_00]: So can't go wrong there. [SPEAKER_00]: The Hague, or pronounced the Hagen. [SPEAKER_00]: And I know it's real name is Robin Hague, but we're not going to get to that right now. [SPEAKER_00]: Dutch is awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, for those who don't know, it's a great language, clock, cloak, gloves, handshoons, which is hand shoes, hospital bread, you know, I say hospital and Dutch, zycouse, sick house. [SPEAKER_00]: language is awesome, even their insults are great. [SPEAKER_00]: Kootzak, or Kootvife, which we're not going to, you know, I may have to, do I have to censor those? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm also mocking their language. [SPEAKER_00]: I walk into kickboxing gyms. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm super hoping that Roman Decker and Riko Verhoff and don't listen to this cast because I will die. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, but Denhag is a super cool city. [SPEAKER_00]: Their lineage actually goes back to the Romans. [SPEAKER_00]: They were at Province of Germana, Inferior. [SPEAKER_00]: Denhag is also the birthplace of the CD and for our listeners who don't know what a CD is, [SPEAKER_00]: the city was created by Philips Research Lab and the first city ever pressed was of course Abba, the visitors in 1982. [SPEAKER_00]: Another fun fact of Denhag is it's not a city, it's a village because in Holland you have to be granted the right to be a city and they never got it. [SPEAKER_00]: So this [SPEAKER_00]: Who knew up? [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I didn't hug and it's hard to pronounce like that's a rough pronunciation. [SPEAKER_00]: It has 11 kilometer beach, which is actually really lovely in the summer. [SPEAKER_00]: Not so much in the winter. [SPEAKER_00]: It is cold and great art museum, giant public park. [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if I've mentioned this, the popular giants, it's so much fun there. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, I'm going to keep saying that the Dutch are super fun. [SPEAKER_00]: The country gets a weird rap because people think everyone goes there for stag weekends. [SPEAKER_00]: Screw that. [SPEAKER_00]: The Dutch is great. [SPEAKER_00]: It's one of the most fun places to go. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been there numerous times in my life. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't take narcotics. [SPEAKER_00]: And I go there all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: I've never had as much fun as I have going out in Holland. [SPEAKER_00]: One of my top places of vacation. [SPEAKER_01]: Also their time for the WTC is ridiculously tall there that always the tallest. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, of course, everything about them is fine. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they wear orange. [SPEAKER_00]: That's their national color. [SPEAKER_00]: Like their international soccer team is safe in crossing the street in uniform at night. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd say, okay, they're fantastic. [SPEAKER_00]: Same thing, same thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's bright orange. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, God, I can go into Edgar Davies. [SPEAKER_00]: I can wax about my love of the Dutch for a long time. [SPEAKER_00]: Super fun. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, [SPEAKER_00]: Last so for you to the cast, discord. [SPEAKER_00]: If you please join our discord. [SPEAKER_00]: We have some great channels going on in there. [SPEAKER_00]: I think the current one for this month was what's wrong with Ohio? [SPEAKER_00]: That's been a fun one. [SPEAKER_01]: What's wrong? [SPEAKER_01]: Salida. [SPEAKER_00]: Salida, please. [SPEAKER_00]: Salida, please. [SPEAKER_00]: Salida, where are you? [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing's been incorrect. [SPEAKER_00]: It's been super fun. [SPEAKER_00]: Guys, come join our Discord, interact with us, ask questions. [SPEAKER_00]: But more importantly, actually, if you're a veteran of this of lore and of the game, also come join a discord and help out. [SPEAKER_00]: We have a lot of newer players and newer people to the game into the lore. [SPEAKER_00]: It's really great having a lot of the veterans come in there and help people navigate what to read, what to play, how to get into painting, how to get no lot of this stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: You guys have done a great job there and it's really a great community. [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks to a lot of you. [SPEAKER_00]: So awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get to Vrax. [SPEAKER_00]: So real quick recap of where we are. [SPEAKER_00]: Vrax was a world of really no greatness outside the eye of town. [SPEAKER_00]: Hold on. [SPEAKER_01]: If this is you say no big greatness, this is the most one of the most stubborn worlds like why did we bother? [SPEAKER_01]: It's a toxic environment. [SPEAKER_01]: We end up with 8 million people on it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's next to the eye of terror. [SPEAKER_01]: And close to half of that are people that are like, man, I can't wait to leave this plan. [SPEAKER_01]: They're like, when's that going to happen? [SPEAKER_01]: When you die because there was just indentured service workers here, so you're like, no big thing. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, no, this place sucks. [SPEAKER_01]: And we're about to spend a long time pummeling people with it. [SPEAKER_00]: Vrax was terrible, and then you get this newly elected Cardinal named Zayfan, who goes on a pilgrimage throughout the whole region, and while on a pilgrimage goes man, people really like me. [SPEAKER_00]: People like me a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: I should. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, I'm sorry, but we can't even call it a pilgrimage. [SPEAKER_01]: He went on a concert tour to basically go in everyone that's awesome, that thinks that I'm awesome, come on over here, and he just, [SPEAKER_01]: did that, and then decided he was going to set up shop here. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and eventually got to relax and stay at Fracks, and he picked up a advisor, a deacon named Mayman, who started giving him some interesting advice, because Mayman obviously was, I don't know how corrupted Mayman was. [SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to figure out at the beginning. [SPEAKER_01]: to go to the pages, though, they have here, but whispery get to the ear. [SPEAKER_00]: What the he is. [SPEAKER_00]: But what I'm saying is. [SPEAKER_00]: Maman because the only reason why I want to help evil. [SPEAKER_00]: Maman is is that in the siege of Vrax later in the siege of Vrax. [SPEAKER_00]: One of the chaos lords turns on him and actually and Maman obviously isn't that that's a supported by the chaos gods So Sure, but like that's more what I'm guessing super Eve this guy is one if you're looking for hey how did all this come to pass you just go that guy right there? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I guess what I'm getting is I'm actually not sold that Maman was an agent of chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: I view Maman, New York. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, hear me out. [SPEAKER_00]: I view Maman, maybe as simply being someone who saw the Cardinals they fan as a way to power. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and I think he was always an agent of chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just not powerful. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's still a guy that is completely led by chaos and he's steer as they find 100% of the ways of chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: So he does. [SPEAKER_01]: He was trapped in the middle of the beginning. [SPEAKER_00]: But this is where it's the whole thing that we talk about the corruption of chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: There's two ways you get corrupted to chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: One is intentional, one's unintentional. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's the intentional of like, I'm aware of the chaos gods. [SPEAKER_00]: I reach out to the chaos gods because I want the power of the chaos gods. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's the other ones where it's like, I want better for myself in this life. [SPEAKER_00]: And my aspiration leads me down to paths where the chaos gods go. [SPEAKER_00]: It come in a buddy. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and one of the people goes, oh, I've got that sin. [SPEAKER_01]: And so, yeah, I get that. [SPEAKER_01]: But I think the main moment was always. [SPEAKER_01]: whether he knew it right away, but he definitely was getting it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's, and that's where, I thought I'm saying it in the very first siege of Rax, I was convinced the first book that Maman was an agent of chaos, and then it's like the third book where you get some of the interactions with Maman and uh, well, he is a cornite, the chaos lord, doesn't go great for him. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I did pretty obvious that's been interfighting between the gods and all says that's true. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's random. [SPEAKER_01]: He's a suit-up cultist. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: It's so well. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm just saying video cast lord guy that didn't put enough out for more in corn. [SPEAKER_01]: And guy that just put his limited upgrades into stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But, anyway, this eventually stole a rebellion as we covered last week, and because of the strategic importance of RAC, the location outside of the eye of terror, the impairing decides they're going to take it back. [SPEAKER_01]: They kind of, well, the irony of this is they decide back and up with the reason that it was so important, remember, is this was a work traveling, this is a dropping off point. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's why they, the world itself, kind of doesn't make any difference whatsoever. [SPEAKER_01]: However, this really messes up the work travel lanes, if you use this. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: And the challenge they have is that they can't just, [SPEAKER_00]: bombard it from the space because A, the fended, and they can't exterminate us, because there's just the world has too much value. [SPEAKER_00]: They also think this is just a, because it truthfully it was just a rebellion. [SPEAKER_00]: And the idea was, all right, well, we'll just go take it back. [SPEAKER_00]: And they decide, all right, we'll just start grinding this thing out. [SPEAKER_00]: And they have the perfect thing to grind it out. [SPEAKER_00]: Kriegsman. [SPEAKER_00]: The perfect thing for grinding. [SPEAKER_00]: So toxic planning are the way we got, yeah, we got millions of these guys. [SPEAKER_00]: And they do not care. [SPEAKER_00]: So even a day spend years. [SPEAKER_00]: It takes the first two years just to get the first breach. [SPEAKER_00]: Another seven years after that to breach the second wall. [SPEAKER_00]: But after that, nine years in and four million dead creeps. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's say we should probably mention the four million dead [SPEAKER_00]: the at that point though, they finally are there, but during this time, a couple new problems have a risk of our first off. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a pretty significant problem. [SPEAKER_01]: When you go, hey, the alpha lead you with Lortarcos and a full fleet of chaos, come in. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, sure. [SPEAKER_01]: The presence of alpha leash is my blackboard and I'm listing things down in the meeting. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say that is number one on the list of, hey, this is going to be an issue. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the presence of alpha legions usually bad. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the good news is the dark angels decide to show up for like a few minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it ain't a drive by. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my God, we're here. [SPEAKER_00]: Hi, we're out. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, can you guys, this planet sucks. [SPEAKER_00]: Dooses, and they did help out. [SPEAKER_00]: So thanks to the dark angels, they kind of get everything set up in a good spot. [SPEAKER_00]: The, it's called the 88 siege regiment. [SPEAKER_01]: It is funny though, go about let's go back to this because the dark he just show up and put a wild Wuppy on some stuff and then just kind of go. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, you guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll see how awesome we are. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool. [SPEAKER_01]: See you later If they went good luck for this [SPEAKER_01]: He, man, we're still not in a great position. [SPEAKER_01]: They're like, yeah, we're pretty bored with this, though. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, they were falling here. [SPEAKER_00]: They also did take some pretty heavy losses because the Alpha Legion surprised attacked them because they're in dark angels and they're terrible at detecting traps. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they, they, they, they, they also see with Haliband. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, when they went to the start point, they did grow into the, hey, why are we all standing on this giant X on the ground? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, is there any legion that's fallen for traps more than Dark Angels? [SPEAKER_00]: Just after right after the horse seriously, just the imperial fence because they kept falling. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's that one time the imperial fence fell for it. [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm thinking Dark Angels, I mean, you have, I think Calibans a bigger fall for trap. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, they want, there's a lot of them now. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you could be. [SPEAKER_01]: And the reason is that those guys are so tough, I feel that they just don't care. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll be fine. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they really says trap. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're like, yeah, but I don't really give it. [SPEAKER_01]: We're probably still going to be okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Which to be funny, took a lot of casualties, but to be very, they still won in the obvious. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they always win. [SPEAKER_00]: It just won't even forget like, Did she guys just walk into that? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wildly so. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: But let's get to today's cast in the new information. [SPEAKER_00]: So as the forces of the 88C judgment begin their push to break the second line, Lord Arco's put his planet action and while this is around, if they look, the whole fucking of all this happening. [SPEAKER_00]: Lord Arco's new, he knew how to basically turn vracks into something special. [SPEAKER_00]: So the war outside is a meat grinder. [SPEAKER_00]: Artillery Borajas followed by charges in the Nomans land, followed by trench fighting, followed by counter charges, and then there's just all this just death. [SPEAKER_00]: Inside the confines of the Citadel, you've got Bordarco's and a bunch of chaos sorcerers. [SPEAKER_00]: And the sorcerers and the sorcerers start doing spells. [SPEAKER_00]: And what the spells are designed to do is basically channel all this death. [SPEAKER_00]: as almost like a radio message directly into the warp, because what he does is he's speaking. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, it's been the beacon directly into it. [SPEAKER_00]: And this, this meant in the eye of terror, this beacon begins to, they call hit them pulsing. [SPEAKER_01]: But it also draws. [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't just a, we're here. [SPEAKER_00]: It was almost an iris-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is-is [SPEAKER_00]: Because yeah, that's the war bands within the eye of terror. [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord Arcos is Alpha Legion. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not calling Alpha Legion saying, hey, guys, they got a cool thing going on. [SPEAKER_00]: Come here. [SPEAKER_00]: He's just trying to get almost the worst of the worst to show up. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's just making a like, hey, something kind of fun over here. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not like a calling of allies. [SPEAKER_00]: It's more of a letting the worst things know there's something here. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, guys. [SPEAKER_01]: If you want to come over here, it'd be awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: Check this out. [SPEAKER_00]: That's actually very good. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a very, very good analogy. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the piece of the people that showed up. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It was a motley crew. [SPEAKER_00]: So what happens is all around, especially the eye of terror, but especially on the galaxy, there are these listening posts and listening posts are designed to track ship movement. [SPEAKER_00]: And anytime any ship moves a long past is listening posts, it's notified all of a sudden is listening posts all around the eye of terrorist are transmitting haters fleets moving here. [SPEAKER_00]: And fleets that are not supposed to, fleets that are not part of the imperium charts. [SPEAKER_00]: So they're not merchants. [SPEAKER_00]: Imperial Navy immediately goes to work. [SPEAKER_00]: They know, all right, something's happening, but the problem is space is big, which is a really dumb statement, but still true. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's a giant space. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't know where these things are going or what's happening. [SPEAKER_00]: So the order of malias does what they do. [SPEAKER_00]: And they've got this really cool thing they call a null ship. [SPEAKER_00]: The null ship is a fully-automized,automized, automatized, forever that's a word. [SPEAKER_00]: The ship with a single pilot, [SPEAKER_00]: There we go, at that Phil list, with a single pilot who's a blank, and that blank can move through the galaxy completely undetected, and just flies it right into this thing and transmits back what they're seeing. [SPEAKER_00]: And what they're seeing, this is a suicide mission by the way, they fly into the eye of terror, is, oh crap, there's effectively a giant chaos fleet, and it's going in one direction, and they knew where that direction was, and it was for X. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's also, [SPEAKER_00]: It's not just, it's a big, it's a big, well, it's in our modest sort of, it's actually kind of funny what the fleet is. [SPEAKER_00]: So the fleet is, and we'll get to more of a later, it's really only a couple battles, big ships, and a bunch of transports, there are so full of warriors that they're basically hanging on the sides. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I thought? [SPEAKER_01]: It's a refugee, [SPEAKER_01]: I felt like that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just like this kind of motley collection. [SPEAKER_00]: I think we can accept firefly took a lot of stuff in 40k. [SPEAKER_00]: I think we all know that. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Like if only they would have brought it back. [SPEAKER_00]: So the Imperium goes to move quickly. [SPEAKER_00]: The problem is you can't really track movement here. [SPEAKER_00]: They know where they're going. [SPEAKER_00]: But they don't know much about it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's attracting a submarine. [SPEAKER_00]: You only catch them at certain points. [SPEAKER_00]: So you don't really know. [SPEAKER_00]: And let's say maintain a set heading and a set speed. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't know when they're going to arrive. [SPEAKER_00]: At the same time, warp travel is not that fast. [SPEAKER_00]: The Armada knows it's going to wrecks, but they can only get their as fast as they can get there. [SPEAKER_00]: So rear-admirals is named Racyic. [SPEAKER_00]: And so [SPEAKER_00]: he's kind of nearby. [SPEAKER_00]: So he grabs little merchant vessels and just puts guns on them and he says, all right, you're with me. [SPEAKER_00]: And his plan is just try to hold out and turn them around and do what he can while waiting for more to come in. [SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be a major naval battle. [SPEAKER_00]: Sebastian Scott chaos breaks in and it's kind of a traditional chaos breaking into the system. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a hotspots. [SPEAKER_00]: Few small ships. [SPEAKER_01]: We have different bands. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're not, this isn't one cohesive thing led by Amidana or something. [SPEAKER_01]: This is just, is a war band. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to show up with my guys and I don't care when you're you're guys show up. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to show up and do my thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: And so Ray sick doesn't really, he doesn't have a, but he doesn't have a choice. [SPEAKER_00]: He has to engage with them. [SPEAKER_00]: So he starts kind of doing little bits here and there until the full fleet gets it and starts to arrive. [SPEAKER_00]: And to raise CXC's the full fleet arrive, and you go, all right, I got a plan. [SPEAKER_00]: And the plan is basically, we're just going to hit them real hard. [SPEAKER_00]: It's chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: Chaos tends to not like a big fight. [SPEAKER_00]: So we range as the entire fleet basically in a line, and there's going to go forward, firing every torpedo and gun they have at these guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Blast them, blast them apart, and get them to turn around and run away. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, except for the fact that as usual, the scanners weren't working because there's a dispoiler class, there's a battleship, the NRK's heart, which is a dispoiler class can take on whole fleets by itself. [SPEAKER_00]: And he didn't know that that thing was there. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, and that's the problem because [SPEAKER_00]: these things kind of come in the pet. [SPEAKER_00]: These are all independent crafts. [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I just want to look class battleship is something that it's just going to not. [SPEAKER_01]: I view your in charge of scouting, scanning, and you go, hey, Brad, I didn't notice this, your gauge of this thing that's bigger than anything else. [SPEAKER_01]: I would go, one, if we get out of this, you're for sure fired. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's [SPEAKER_00]: But yes, this shows up. [SPEAKER_00]: But you know, I was all saying, Raciec does exactly what any good imperial naval officer does. [SPEAKER_00]: And he doubles down and goes fine. [SPEAKER_00]: We're shooting shoot guns harder, you know, at the big thing. [SPEAKER_00]: And he does get a little bit of a reprieve though, because as he begins moving forward, two of the main cruisers that were there, that were chaos cruisers, hold back. [SPEAKER_00]: and don't engage. [SPEAKER_00]: So he has a chance here to actually damage this battleship along with some of the smaller ships around that. [SPEAKER_00]: And the reason they held back becomes obvious, another rear admiral named Mazur appears basically translates into the warp right behind them. [SPEAKER_00]: And the chaos, their scanners were working and knew this was coming. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: So whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: The chaos forces, though, start be lining towards the racks, which causes a problem for the Imperial forces. [SPEAKER_00]: Because while they have this great wall, their whole idea was workers going to blast them and then they'll retreat. [SPEAKER_00]: The issue is the chaos forces kind of weren't there to do a naval battle, they were there just to get to the racks. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, to now a lot of the people answering this call have no desire for a tactical naval battle. [SPEAKER_00]: They're not even sure if their ships have guns on the map. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, these guys want to these guys want a very not tactical chain acts to the face battle. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're in a socket role. [SPEAKER_00]: And so what happens is he's moving his line of ships forward and these ships just go, all right, flank speed toward Vrax, which means a ship that's not shooting at him goes through his line. [SPEAKER_00]: And he has to either chase that ship down to it doesn't get to Vrax or deal with the giant battleship that is shooting at him. [SPEAKER_00]: And the problem is he has to go deal with the one going towards Vrax. [SPEAKER_00]: So his ships, his fleets are just a break apart to deal with these just individual transports that are just speedlining at Vrax, this is a wild. [SPEAKER_00]: this calculation we continue. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's a terrible idea. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And they start, they do start, but they do blow up a bunch of these transport ships. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: A couple of them, though, crash line on versus because, yes, but this also turns the battle. [SPEAKER_00]: So a couple of the ones they do hit successfully blow up. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's a couple of them do land crash land, but this is enough to turn the battle and the battle ship just starts wrecking. [SPEAKER_00]: Shot. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: It all falls completely apart when Raysik in his himself, his battleship takes a torpedo to its back thrusters and just it's now it basically doesn't move. [SPEAKER_00]: At which point they have to translate out. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's a warp out of the system, leaving the other rear admiral Mazur just by himself. [SPEAKER_01]: because he goes, hey, remember when you made a bunch of bad decisions that led to your fleet being wrecked, and then you were like, man, things are going bad. [SPEAKER_01]: We should get out of here, see you later, Mouser, hey, man, not cool, bro, not cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I like what Mouser does next. [SPEAKER_00]: Mouser basically sits there. [SPEAKER_00]: The Anarchy's heart turns towards him, it comes right at him, and he just goes, [SPEAKER_00]: ranning speed and takes his ship and does run the problem with what I like when it's he calls ramming speed but he does it from like 50 miles away and so they go full speed and the battleship just goes all right and blows him up before he gets anywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: If you have this video it's just all I can think of him was him doing not today ramming speed and then they just blow the ship up. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like if you're gonna call ramming speed. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a great isn't it's a it's a it's been her ramming speed is been her right when I'm thinking of it You can go it's got to be yeah, it's got to be it's got to be better, but anyway, but that's a it's you usually call for ramming speed when you're in range to ram them [SPEAKER_00]: not I'm going to start running at you like money python a holy grail where he's running at that it where is it so where sir lands a lot is charging across the grass. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So I mean long story short chaos now controls the entire system. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's not ideal. [SPEAKER_00]: Brave sir Robin ran away to play another day. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, it's not going to get back. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about how it feels to be down in the planet side. [SPEAKER_01]: You, you, you finally are getting a foothold. [SPEAKER_01]: You're starting to, well, this is so bad. [SPEAKER_01]: You're really wrecking it. [SPEAKER_01]: You're looking around going guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I know it's been a tough time. [SPEAKER_01]: It's been years in the making, but we finally have victory right in our grasp. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is important. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: So as on on the ground, they have the Citadel surrounded. [SPEAKER_00]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: Breach there. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they hadn't breached a Citadel yet. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they've reached the two fronts. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're going into all the fronts. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, they're at the last front. [SPEAKER_00]: They're right. [SPEAKER_00]: This is it. [SPEAKER_00]: And remember, when there's a naval battle above, they're not radioing down. [SPEAKER_00]: So they don't even know this is going on above them. [SPEAKER_00]: They're just seeing like explosions in the sky, which is like, all right, kind of whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: And then they see a couple ships start crash landing, re-inflip, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Probably, yeah, whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: And then out of the story is in the middle of one of the many trench attacks. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not like, it was like a major Kenny, but they're doing the artillery fires, guys go over the top, counterattack, blah, blah, blah, out of nowhere, orbital bombardment comes down on top of them. [SPEAKER_00]: and then dread claw assault pods come down. [SPEAKER_00]: So bad part two. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, spoiler alert. [SPEAKER_00]: What's inside the dread claw assault pods? [SPEAKER_00]: Bizzerkers, corn, Bizzerkers versus creague guardsmen. [SPEAKER_00]: I love my creague guardsmen. [SPEAKER_01]: There's limits to what a shovel can do. [SPEAKER_00]: Although fun story, the Berserker's come blasting out and just start wrecking everyone, but Berserker's not the most tactically minded. [SPEAKER_00]: So they're just cleaning up all the guardsmen in the near vicinity. [SPEAKER_00]: But the guards being in the trench, not there, are just watching this happen going. [SPEAKER_00]: Huh, so they're all just going to stand there in the middle of no man's land, huh? [SPEAKER_00]: They shot that they also are tilleried by the ship. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so all, so I didn't, all because this whole thing happens to drop. [SPEAKER_00]: claws come down, all the berserkers come up. [SPEAKER_00]: But there's slaughter every single creaksman who's in no man's land all the way to the enemy line. [SPEAKER_00]: But then they literally just stand there looking for someone, look across no man's land at all the creaksmen standing in their trench. [SPEAKER_00]: In the creaks of the trench go, yeah, no, we're not messing with that stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: And just open up and remove all the berserkers. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's not really this then continues and the chaos start landing more and more troops including Titans. [SPEAKER_00]: So the commanders have no choice. [SPEAKER_00]: They have to shift. [SPEAKER_00]: There is this is getting really bad. [SPEAKER_00]: They go from an offense to pure defense. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we didn't mention, oh, yeah, there's a third problem. [SPEAKER_01]: Would you like to tell? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the chaos brought Titans. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, you know what, Craig's been brought in their push to defeat Titans? [SPEAKER_01]: It was nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a shovel. [SPEAKER_00]: They have no answer that they had shadow swords and storm blades, which are Bainblade variants that can pull down a Titan, but it's different. [SPEAKER_00]: These are like, and then I love my Bainblade. [SPEAKER_00]: I just don't like shadow swords. [SPEAKER_00]: So weird thing. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like them, but the issue, you were so, it's whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what do you love? [SPEAKER_00]: You don't. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't. [SPEAKER_00]: There are big tanks, which is so good. [SPEAKER_00]: And you like the Bainblades. [SPEAKER_00]: And I only like the Bainblade with flamers on it. [SPEAKER_00]: That's my thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a lot of flameers, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it does pick stuff up. [SPEAKER_00]: When bane blades go to work, they go to work. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all I'm saying. [SPEAKER_00]: When they go to work, they go to work. [SPEAKER_00]: But the problem the shadow swords and storm blades is that as good as they are, they actually aren't great at taking out titans without titans support. [SPEAKER_00]: Because titans are much more mobile than they are. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they try to deal with these titans and just get the [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they have complete, they've lost complete control of the sky, be it orbit or actual just in the atmosphere, yeah, they have no air support, which is, oh, yeah, they deal. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so effectively this, they now are on the back foot, the 88th seed regimen begins retreating. [SPEAKER_00]: They have to find a position to fortify and hold out because they're just under assault. [SPEAKER_00]: will be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_00]: While all this goes on, back on Terra, the word has come back of what's occurred. [SPEAKER_00]: The failure of the naval battle. [SPEAKER_01]: And now failure is mad. [SPEAKER_01]: You just compared it to that battle. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So they also have realized the situation of Rax is now it's untenable. [SPEAKER_00]: untenables a nice word for it. [SPEAKER_00]: And the problem is that the strategic importance of Brax and now a heavy presence of chaos means they can't just abandon it. [SPEAKER_00]: Chaos now control because they can't let chaos control the world just outside the eye of terror. [SPEAKER_00]: This would allow them to basically come out of the eye of terror and reinforce themselves. [SPEAKER_00]: They realized that commander Zulke, who was running this thing, wasn't the best choice. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's going to get replaced. [SPEAKER_01]: Nepovadi got it. [SPEAKER_00]: Continue. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And they bring in a guy named Marshall Cagori. [SPEAKER_00]: Marshall Cagori is old, very old, but he's a grizzled veteran who knows his stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Fun story, though, because Zulki came from a very, very wealthy family, he actually couldn't be punished for this failure. [SPEAKER_00]: So instead, they moved him and put him in charge of another guard army that was going to deal with orcs. [SPEAKER_00]: Instead, they punished all his subordinates and put all of his subordinates in penal regiments fighting tyrannets, which is a death sentence, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_00]: So Kagori realizes that Vrax needs a full change of style of war. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going, we're going to move from Siege to Total War. [SPEAKER_00]: So he begins petitioning other worlds to help him out. [SPEAKER_00]: Namely, forge in night worlds. [SPEAKER_00]: He needs Titans. [SPEAKER_00]: He needs aircraft. [SPEAKER_00]: He needs everything. [SPEAKER_00]: He wants to win the fight. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he also went back to Creek and was like, can I just have all of the regiments and Craig was like, yeah, sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Here we go. [SPEAKER_01]: We go to a terrible place in an unwindable war. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, got it. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me get my shovel in my mask and let's go. [SPEAKER_01]: Those guys are so crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: It was great. [SPEAKER_00]: Not a fantastic. [SPEAKER_00]: He also went to the Imperial Navy. [SPEAKER_00]: He was like, yeah, I need a bigger Navy. [SPEAKER_00]: And they were like, ah, go ahead. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the funny part is that meanwhile, back on Vrax. [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, this isn't the meanwhile, like a TV show where they meanwhile, they cut to something happy. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a bad cut. [SPEAKER_00]: Back on Vrax, things are getting ugly because the, you know, Cardinals A fan has lost control of the situation. [SPEAKER_01]: This is actually good for the Imperial defenders because of the fact that KS starts to chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, there'll be up on the Imperial forces, but they're doing so in the most Yeah, chaotic way possible and occasionally They're just fighting each other. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the chaos gonna chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they basically do independent of each other now for one of the defenders the 19th [SPEAKER_00]: they have a little problem because one of the chaos forces are a little bit stinky and pastually. [SPEAKER_00]: Just this, a nirgot warband made planet fall and they wanted to make their own mark. [SPEAKER_00]: Get it? [SPEAKER_00]: On the pile? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh shit. [SPEAKER_00]: And they discovered that there's a giant supply on munitions on for X of chemical weapons, which are described as having been forbidden for thousands of years. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, who? [SPEAKER_00]: Be right. [SPEAKER_00]: GW just does this, like I guess that word's a terrorist. [SPEAKER_01]: Stay up, then you're like, hey, we still use planet destroyed missiles, but don't use Agent L. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we have virus bombs right, but not these ones. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the neural warband finds them. [SPEAKER_00]: It's called TP3 and it's an acid gas that's so potent. [SPEAKER_00]: It can corrode armor. [SPEAKER_00]: They can burn skin from bone instantly, whatever, but the creek, they fire at the creek and the creek are basically like [SPEAKER_01]: Like, if you made the atmosphere, it's better. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, where it's really dense, it does work on them, but a lot of the spots that create your kind of like, all right, like, I'd literally wearing armor for this type of stuff, like, if like, however it doesn't resist guns, but it does resist this. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but the force of Nergal do decide to just, they find this group called the 19th. [SPEAKER_00]: And the 19th are basically trapped between [SPEAKER_00]: the Nergal Warband and a cliff and Nergal decides this is just going to be fun and work unlike the forces of corn, we're going to go slowly and they begin this process of firing the gas at them and then moving forward with vehicles, plague marines, mutants, everything and charging towards the creek and an effort because they're, you know, force of chaos to [SPEAKER_01]: But let's talk about how they Kringer awesome in this one. [SPEAKER_01]: The Kringer awesome because they keep going, hey, we need some artillery help where shoot at this, what is this exactly where I am fire artillery and they do this a bunch of [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's all the creed dude because I think the Nurgle war bands were convinced that like, oh, we're going to get the people will get their souls over because they'll be so horrified by this that they'll do anything to give up and the creedger just like, nah, I work good. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll just keep shooting at you. [SPEAKER_00]: And when you get really close, my body over there is going to shoot at both of us. [SPEAKER_00]: I do know that they also waited for the artillery bombardments until they were on top of them to make sure they're really looking yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah that the creeks the guy with the button is looking the plague marine in the eye going like boop screw you man and [SPEAKER_00]: So, eventually, the entire 19th parish, and it is mentioned in the book that Nurgo gets there, and they basically turn it into a garden of Nurgo, where they see people like tending, they turn it into a garden, where they undead beings are tending it. [SPEAKER_00]: But the 19th held out for, they were also weak, just taking as many of them with them as they could. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, all right, screw you, you're all to keep blowing this up with me. [SPEAKER_00]: But eventually, Cagore's forces do arrive in system to reinforce for X. [SPEAKER_01]: And when they come in system, they do have that issue, though, because anarchy's heart that giant battleship is nowhere to be something, but hold on, they know that it's somewhere around here, but because chaos doesn't just leave, because also because their scanners only work as far as you can physically look out a window and see apparently, they can't figure out where it is. [SPEAKER_00]: That's gotta be here somewhere. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, there was a lot of debris around. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess don't remember it's it is that there are binoculars is the dead I mean to me fair you and I I definitely got to have to play a game it with night night fight You know who that affected you can as I punch people Well, no also because our opponent's forfeited before I use my deck a jet which I still mad at you about excellent choice [SPEAKER_01]: best of the entire weekend. [SPEAKER_00]: So what happens is the piriformes being creeping towards Vrax because they can't see where this giant battleship is and they find it pretty quickly. [SPEAKER_00]: The battleship was hiding amongst the debris and comes rocketing out with two side cruisers. [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, blah, blah, blah, they fight. [SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of what it is. [SPEAKER_00]: But this time, Kagori and his forces do with the chaos force at last time, and they just start be lining towards vracks and screw you, we're going there, and leaving a couple cruisers behind to fight the battleship. [SPEAKER_00]: The battleship doesn't know what to do. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, it's stuck with the decision. [SPEAKER_00]: Do I blow up the ships that are going towards the planet? [SPEAKER_00]: Or do I blow up the ships that are fighting me? [SPEAKER_00]: And it makes the poor choice. [SPEAKER_00]: which expose all the amount of damage, which should have worked from the last all of the torpedoes, but yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And so then it takes a bunch of damage and realizes that even with the, it's also too slow to keep up. [SPEAKER_00]: So these transport ships get there, it's heavily damaged and it just gives up and sucks back. [SPEAKER_00]: Because remember, it's not an organized fourth. [SPEAKER_00]: This battleship is an independent entity in all of this. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not actually there, it doesn't really care about the defenders on vracks. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like it's supporting Lord Arcos or anyone down there. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just there to kill stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: And so it's got like, I'm out of stuff to kill. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to screw off back this way now. [SPEAKER_00]: And it leaves. [SPEAKER_00]: So Cagori has successfully landed now on vrack. [SPEAKER_01]: This is so wild though. [SPEAKER_01]: because this is so beyond 40 game games, he shows up with 22 Titans, not even, sorry, it's not even 22 Titans. [SPEAKER_01]: He shows up with 10 Revers and 12 Warhounds. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool, Warhound, Big Titan, that's the one you see. [SPEAKER_00]: 10 Revers are beyond what you can even take in a game of [SPEAKER_00]: they revert is 2,200 points and it also does city itself. [SPEAKER_01]: They have an entire working economy and this revert is so big. [SPEAKER_01]: It's its own town that runs around. [SPEAKER_01]: It's gigantic. [SPEAKER_00]: And the war hat is also really big and Brad and I spent six or 10 minutes before the cast that I'm trying to convince him, I think I could run one and him getting mad at me and pointing out it has no strategic value to get at all. [SPEAKER_00]: still work. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, but since the things since the arrival of chaos in the last shock, 88 had been losing ground all over the place. [SPEAKER_00]: Fronts were collapsing. [SPEAKER_01]: If they were at, hold on. [SPEAKER_01]: You make it sound like you really were losing ground. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, we haven't really gained any ground. [SPEAKER_01]: No, they were any. [SPEAKER_01]: How can we not get eliminated off this planet moving back, but the ADA was made up of creeks. [SPEAKER_00]: So while yes, they were losing ground, they were not losing morale. [SPEAKER_01]: So even though they're getting routed, every creeks been like, we did win that one guys, but we're going to win the next one. [SPEAKER_01]: Or even that. [SPEAKER_00]: They're just like, [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, hey, everyone died. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to, so we just, we keep shooting, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I'm going to keep shooting when I'm shooting. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, why are you giving me this update? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like, I see the enemy too, shut up. [SPEAKER_00]: So Kagori comes down and he decides, screw that. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not only am I going to reset the battle, I'm going to regain it. [SPEAKER_00]: And he lands all these forces and just opens up massive artillery of the forest. [SPEAKER_01]: Because he, he doesn't have that, like, [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do this slow grinder work as the slow grinder where it wasn't working. [SPEAKER_01]: He needed to slice the faction. [SPEAKER_01]: He put on the boots of my diaskaking and starts rocking like immediately. [SPEAKER_00]: And Kagori is a very good gentleman. [SPEAKER_00]: What he realized was the two main chaos warbands are Nergal and corn. [SPEAKER_00]: neither of them have fortified any positions. [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, they're killing stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's actually all exposed land. [SPEAKER_00]: So effectively, we just take us all back. [SPEAKER_00]: And so he does. [SPEAKER_00]: So massive artillery bombardment, and then a full assault with the knights and aircraft. [SPEAKER_00]: And so no one's prepared for this. [SPEAKER_00]: And he just, it's a blitz. [SPEAKER_00]: He does this is traditional blitz-cree battle. [SPEAKER_00]: Runs in full blitz-cree, and they start just making gains. [SPEAKER_00]: then the defenders do get a little uppity and go, well, you brought Knights in their craft, then we'll bring Knights in their craft, and like they two to three are pretty rough, where it's turned through a night fight, but the loyalist forces were better organized and better prepared for the fight. [SPEAKER_00]: So after about a week or so, [SPEAKER_00]: the rebels break, always forces start pushing even further, the defenders night start taking too much damage, and they're actually to the point where the loyalists lost four Titans to the enemies 12. [SPEAKER_00]: This is significant games. [SPEAKER_00]: That's happened. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's huge. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So now the war is they're winning the war again. [SPEAKER_00]: And the [SPEAKER_00]: they push up and they get basically all the way back to where they were before chaos arrived. [SPEAKER_00]: So here they are, they're standing outside the walls. [SPEAKER_00]: Issue is, hold on, again. [SPEAKER_00]: Again, so we're back to the walls. [SPEAKER_00]: Problem is, pretty big walls, and there's a void shield. [SPEAKER_01]: So, here there's also void shield. [SPEAKER_01]: There's trenches everywhere at this point in time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not ideal. [SPEAKER_00]: So Kagori implements his next plan. [SPEAKER_00]: And his next plan, because again, this entire siege of Rax is based on World War I, decides sapping. [SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna start sapping. [SPEAKER_00]: And, [SPEAKER_00]: And the Kriegsman can dig tunnels too. [SPEAKER_00]: So they're also like lemons. [SPEAKER_00]: So he sends them, it's all I ever think of, but I think of Sapping as I think of Lemmings. [SPEAKER_00]: So he sends the Kriegsman to start digging tunnels. [SPEAKER_00]: And like, there's, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's two stories in the book. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but one of them is the longer story. [SPEAKER_00]: It goes so bad. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so bad because the defenders know they're coming and they go, hey, I don't really want my wall sat and they're digging a small hole. [SPEAKER_00]: Just send the zirkers down there and see how they're doing. [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't the wall, so what happened was, first they started taking a tunnel into where they were keeping all the munitions, because when you have all of your trenches and whatnot, you keep your munitions below, because people are firing artillery at you, so it's not going to fit hits the munitions. [SPEAKER_00]: So they had this great play, we're going to dig a hole all the way down the munitions, and we're going to surprise attack them. [SPEAKER_00]: And the defenders went cool, why don't we take all the munitions out of them and just put a bunch of berserkers in [SPEAKER_00]: So the Kriegsman cut a hole in a wall, you know, haha, we're here, and then here's a sound of chainsawords and go, ah Not ideal. [SPEAKER_00]: They dug holes to be zirkers and just added and so that's like the entire, by the way, it's like three pages of this is just that whole story to then get killed by bazirkers But the other one in sector fifty seven forty four goes great this one. [SPEAKER_00]: They did go on time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah [SPEAKER_00]: right under the wall, pack it with all of the explosives and blow a giant hole in the wall. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that they kept doing the same plan and doing this. [SPEAKER_01]: What's going to work, guys, dead, yeah, just dead. [SPEAKER_00]: But eventually, but I feel like the same blow this giant hole in the wall, which is cool, except there's one problem. [SPEAKER_00]: The entire fortress has a wall around it, except for one spot now, has a hole in it. [SPEAKER_00]: So now both sides know what's going to happen next, everyone's going to go at that hole. [SPEAKER_00]: And so the 88th start pouring troops at a Gorgon transport start going everything. [SPEAKER_00]: It's really at close artillery barrages, lascans, heavy bolters, but they keep coming, and then they get there and the ramp goes down and the Kriegsman with fixed bayonets come running out. [SPEAKER_00]: into Ogrin who is waiting there chemically infused and chaos corrupted Ogrin and they do this for like three days before Kagori goes, all right, this isn't going to work. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're losing wild amounts of forces. [SPEAKER_00]: because it's just a kill zone. [SPEAKER_00]: Luckily, around the same time that Kagori was doing all getting the forces, he also, you know, sent out a request to, hey, does any space marine want to help us out? [SPEAKER_00]: Because like, this can't house here. [SPEAKER_01]: This is wild to me because it's described as they were negotiating with space marine chapters. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, what were they going to do? [SPEAKER_00]: It kind of makes sense. [SPEAKER_00]: So the idea is that so post-chorus heresy and the creation of the Codex authorities, which was a great idea, thought up by a wonderful, the greatest of the crime. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's literally never followed it, even for a second continue. [SPEAKER_00]: Because he didn't have to. [SPEAKER_00]: The rules like this are for the lesser chapters, they know for this. [SPEAKER_00]: not as I do. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, it's not the, no, it's for the lesser chapters. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all it is. [SPEAKER_00]: It's okay. [SPEAKER_00]: It's some not all chapters. [SPEAKER_00]: The lesser chapters. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Not all chapters are created. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, why? [SPEAKER_01]: You're, I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: I get flamed for this every time I do it. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not going to stop. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to talk about it. [SPEAKER_00]: I had a fake and now I'm flustered because of that nonsense state that, anyway, post-Codex of star days, what happens is a lot of the chapters, basically wander the galaxy on ask-kicking missions, looking for Zeno's chaos, et cetera, encourages to involve themselves with, because they don't interact with the lords of terror, they don't interact with the imperial forces, they just kind of look for things to do. [SPEAKER_00]: They're almost like the good mercenaries, or [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're meant to be, it was nice. [SPEAKER_01]: They're supposed to be like, hey, this is happening, go fix it. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's most of the stories, and this one, they're just like, hey, we asked for some help, and they were like, ah, that sounds like. [SPEAKER_00]: But hear me out. [SPEAKER_00]: I actually I like this because like this to me felt more like how it should function that you have these space main chapters who are going like in a galaxy that is at war everywhere the space marines go there is a need for them so they kind of need to be is it's a three 1613 65 [SPEAKER_00]: like, every year. [SPEAKER_00]: So everywhere they go, people are going to be petitioning them for hey, and he's up. [SPEAKER_00]: And this happens in the Eisenhorn books where they have a petition them for support, right? [SPEAKER_00]: So that's what it is, like moving around. [SPEAKER_00]: He's just got an open petition for it. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's like, it's like the question, it was the negotiation thing they got. [SPEAKER_01]: It was that's very. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, what are you negotiating with? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm going to give you a bag of fish. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, what was the negotiation? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, it's space marines. [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we have something else to do. [SPEAKER_01]: I get it, but the negotiation thing got me. [SPEAKER_01]: But whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: I digress. [SPEAKER_01]: Eventually, Cagori starts just looking for, is there anybody around here we can get to come in? [SPEAKER_01]: And the red scorpions went, I'm your Huckleberry and decided to rock out. [SPEAKER_00]: And so the red scorpions show up and this is pretty bad ass. [SPEAKER_00]: So the red scorpions come in and they say, look, this is a worthy cause for us. [SPEAKER_00]: Chaos is there and we're going to, but we do have one condition. [SPEAKER_00]: And the condition is we're in charge of ourselves. [SPEAKER_00]: No star taste is going to be under the command of the militant. [SPEAKER_00]: And Kagori, being a veteran of the war, goes, yeah, obviously. [SPEAKER_01]: So you guys aren't going to show up if I don't agree to this. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, I've been doing this for a while. [SPEAKER_00]: I've never seen the start. [SPEAKER_00]: It's taken order from any of our guys. [SPEAKER_00]: So I wasn't going to ask you to do that anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not stupid. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get into the red scorpions. [SPEAKER_00]: So Captain Iina, Aina, that's too many vows guys. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't give me four vows in one continent. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: This isn't freaking real cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I do love the fact that you put that. [SPEAKER_01]: with a question mark at the end of it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Amia? [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: So their plan is basically, because there's not enough of them. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a chapter. [SPEAKER_00]: There's only a hundred of them. [SPEAKER_00]: So they can't do a much, but they're all right. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to help you guys capture the breach. [SPEAKER_00]: That way you're in a position to win the war. [SPEAKER_00]: It's there. [SPEAKER_00]: So we've got this and this is how Space Marines tend to interact. [SPEAKER_00]: They can't come in and win a full war. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, the Space Wolves can because they didn't listen to Gilliman and they're not going to be there. [SPEAKER_00]: They're a full agent or the Black Templars who also are not. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't follow anybody's stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: They just show up in your toes. [SPEAKER_00]: And this plan is epically awesome and super space marinated. [SPEAKER_00]: They bring their cruiser basically down in the orbit, so it's sitting pretty close to Citadel and puts it in range of the guns. [SPEAKER_00]: They're by making the entire Citadel shoot up at it, because they're assuming that they're about to get dropped potted by the space marines. [SPEAKER_00]: And while, but before they do this, a single thunderhawk. [SPEAKER_00]: I took off, hold on. [SPEAKER_01]: I just, there's no way that I'm not calling this thunderhawk to Millennium Falcon, because it is full of only name characters, and it's going down. [SPEAKER_00]: It is today. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: And it comes in, by the way, because remember, scanners don't work. [SPEAKER_00]: So this is a thunderhawk that comes in low and fast, because that way they can't see it along the horizon. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess it's probably also got the sun behind it. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's the dumbest thing, but we'll skip that. [SPEAKER_00]: So and the idea is as the cruiser is drawing all the attention of the defender is this thunder Hawk comes in super fast and then just opens the front and a single squad jumps out into the into this breathe Yes, because it does awesome [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and does he's who thing for the Star Wars people if you've ever played Old Republic it is when they bring the transport crash into the Jedi temple and just have a bunch of Sith Papa That's what I thought. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they were doing here. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, they had a better plan because on the tabletop This is lame because the beacon a teleport Homer is like, yeah, whatever [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, but this is, okay, more about to as usual talk about terminators in a second guys and yeah more terminators they're going to be awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: So this parts cool is crap. [SPEAKER_00]: These guys jump out and they have a beacon. [SPEAKER_00]: The beacon does two things. [SPEAKER_00]: First off, the beacon allows the ship above to drop an orbital bombardment very close to them, but not on them, meeting every rebel defender around them, just dies, because they fire just aim for the beacon, but like, you know, 30 meters to the side. [SPEAKER_00]: And so this massive bombardment hits. [SPEAKER_00]: Then as a defender has come out after that part two happens, which is just drop in with holy ass, because when they teleport on a beacon, it is perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: They are exactly where they want to be. [SPEAKER_01]: And the stupid Ogrin that we're kicking everybody's butt before, well, they just started getting golf swing by thunder hammers. [SPEAKER_01]: And right next to us. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the next dimension as these terminators just go, yeah, man, I'm a terminator. [SPEAKER_01]: You're an ogre and pound sand dude, it just start rolling through these guys on the table top which one wins. [SPEAKER_01]: The point per point. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just pouring it out definitely squat a vote definitely terminators win minus one damn full squat That's being terminators would win that fight for sure if the yogurt have a have the commissar Still because definitely terminators wrath of the rock. [SPEAKER_00]: They'd be minus one the wound Minor or over damage over the mass one damage Ogrina minus one damage. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they got a two up save them to no I just I'm just they're winning it. [SPEAKER_00]: It also pop I'm just saying it's an annoying thing that they will talk [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, always in everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: It shouldn't be discussing this. [SPEAKER_01]: That's my point in the story, however, the terminators are just pop and dandelion heads off. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, this is wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: Roodle, I mean, they talk about them taking thunder hammers that chest and just flying. [SPEAKER_00]: And all of the chemical augmentations doing mean nothing for me. [SPEAKER_01]: I love this because the red scorpions then lightning respond to this so that they can set up [SPEAKER_01]: all their defensive forces. [SPEAKER_01]: They basically put down the divestator squads. [SPEAKER_00]: They put the heavy equipment here at the same time, dread bunch of rhinos start coming in blinds or dreadnotes, dreadnotes are wanting and running. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, all of it, and I love this, too, because they grab the breach, because there's some decrement couldn't do. [SPEAKER_00]: And again, another unit that is nearing dear to my heart that has sucked in a tabletop for multiple additions, a divestator squads come in. [SPEAKER_00]: And divestator squads are space Marines holding heavy weapons. [SPEAKER_00]: And they, when they hold a position, [SPEAKER_00]: you don't get it back. [SPEAKER_00]: And so the rebel start coming at them. [SPEAKER_00]: And then just like last canning every single vehicle, like a nope, also nope. [SPEAKER_00]: That one's also no job marines, the dreadnets, and they start just all. [SPEAKER_01]: They basically just immediately push everything now. [SPEAKER_01]: They got that that initial boom. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we got in, then we some of the Terminator's Terminator's pushback and then area that they got for themselves, they just jammed full of everybody's space-marine and go, we have a fortified position. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to wreck this shit. [SPEAKER_01]: I love this part. [SPEAKER_01]: This is how Marines should feel. [SPEAKER_01]: I love it in the books on this because they just come in and they do that two or three layered offensive and just push in. [SPEAKER_00]: And then as soon as they do this the 88th comes pouring through and now the issue for the defenders is now they've lost the wall because now that they've got this breach they're through it and the defenders now have to retreat all the way back to the citadel because with their exposed and. [SPEAKER_00]: Now that's it. [SPEAKER_00]: We've got this. [SPEAKER_00]: We've pushed our whole way all the way through the breach. [SPEAKER_00]: We are now looking at our final goal and the red scorpions go, they did take some serious losses. [SPEAKER_00]: They lost 60 battle brothers. [SPEAKER_01]: They went into basically a kill zone and went, [SPEAKER_01]: cool. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to lose some guys, but it also took us about 15 minutes to clear this out. [SPEAKER_01]: And so it was pretty. [SPEAKER_01]: This is one of my favorite marine fights because it wasn't just one guy holding the line or anything. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a coordinated, multi-layered. [SPEAKER_01]: This is how marine's fight and it feels great. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the utilize super lightning strike, heavy defenses, fast troops and dreadnots, you know, to secure the forces, they're talking about the jump troops literally taking people out in the walls and stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: I just, I don't love everything about this, but it looks really great by things. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Super great. [SPEAKER_01]: And at this point in time, we should probably set it up and then [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So with that action with a break and the reason we're going to break there is because with the 88 siege right at the edge of the gates, it looks like it's going to go to their side. [SPEAKER_00]: There's actually a whole other book that we're going to get to now. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is because the forces of chaos are not done. [SPEAKER_00]: They've got another, I'd say trick up their sleeve. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just another massive offensive coming back. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's because the amount of death and destruction that's [SPEAKER_00]: that they're now able to bring something else in. [SPEAKER_00]: The good news for the imperial forces is that they're also aware of this. [SPEAKER_00]: And so the inquisition of the Ordo Malias are aware of it. [SPEAKER_00]: The gray nights are coming. [SPEAKER_00]: We're actually going to bring the red hunters. [SPEAKER_00]: We're bringing a lot more to this battle. [SPEAKER_00]: And this war is going to take its final turn. [SPEAKER_00]: of going from a, oh yeah, it's a war we should win to, all right, we should probably take care of this to finally. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, this is actually a catastrophic problem. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's where we're going to get to. [SPEAKER_00]: So next week, we're going to cover the end of the war. [SPEAKER_00]: And also talk about really how this war, why this is such a kind of a good homage to a lot of traditional 40K conflicts where they start soft as not that big of a deal and ends up being a huge one. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'll tell them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because it's like, this thing started off is like, all right, there's a just creague versus local rebels. [SPEAKER_00]: And now we've got seven chaos war bands. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, where I'm telling like six different starlies chapters, this thing's getting big. [SPEAKER_00]: So until then, John Barsotti, Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_00]: This cat. [UNKNOWN]: Thank you very much.
