Episode 15 - The Scouring.... well really just the start of the Imperium going to hell in a handbasket trying to kill everyone and everything associated with Chaos

[SPEAKER_01]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, thirteen episodes in Brad and now we're moving into what we call the free form version of this where we're going to bounce and round a little bit.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're now going to do thirteen through saves for the next twenty five years.
[SPEAKER_01]: Please know.
[SPEAKER_02]: What it worked for Brad.
[SPEAKER_01]: It did work for Abidon.
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, no, it didn't.
[SPEAKER_01]: It hasn't succeeded at one of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: He just he did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now he has kind of a blue, Katie again.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's Katie getting blown up.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's definitely one of the crutches of GW, but
[SPEAKER_01]: On today's episode, we're going to kind of start setting up some future stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: We just don't want to have to do a bunch of spoiler episodes.
[SPEAKER_01]: So today is going to be post horrors, heresy, the scouring, what it's known as.
[SPEAKER_01]: I like to call it revenge.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, a bunch of stuff that we're not a lot of sand.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's because he's heating.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this, this got ugly.
[SPEAKER_01]: So for those of you who don't understand, we're talking about
[SPEAKER_01]: Horace, after he dies, the force of chaos, the trailer legions, that quickly break up in you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they were, let's set back, go back.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's rewind this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because what happened is, Horace was already having trouble keeping chaos together.
[SPEAKER_02]: Weirdly enough, keeping chaos together.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was hard.
[SPEAKER_02]: So wrangling cats didn't seem to be the best thing, but he was doing it by the power personality.
[SPEAKER_02]: He was the most powerful besides the Emperor personality.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe besides the Emperor to be honest with you, because that was his jam is just, Horace was a good doctor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, to be honest, I think people liked Horace more than they liked the Emperor, just the Emperor, they were just more powerful.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, when you were in the Emperor's presence, you felt guilty to him, where is Horace?
[SPEAKER_01]: True.
[SPEAKER_01]: He tricked you into that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, the Emperor's cheer.
[SPEAKER_02]: But the thing is, is that Horace was already having issues because of the more that they fell into the into chaos, and were powered by chaos,
[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, the more influenced cast has.
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're looking to get a nice regiment and structured thing going on, powering it through chaos is not the best way.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it was already fracturing.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so when you take away the figurehead, which is literally how all chaos, since then, and forever is led by
[SPEAKER_02]: powerful personalities when you took away that power of personality, something that was already hanging by strings, it didn't just fracture, it exploded.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we already covered it in the during the horse heresy that the Emperor's children had already run off, that just go do Emperor's children stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Iron warrior is bailed and grown.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, all these guys, even even the death card that they were caught, they were all already fallen apart.
[SPEAKER_01]: Whole race goes and they all fall apart.
[SPEAKER_01]: The problem for Chaos this one is the other side was very singular.
[SPEAKER_02]: They were not.
[SPEAKER_02]: They were also not done.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Chaos said, hey, guys, I'm pretty tired now, I'm about to go home.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they were like, we're not done at all.
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't hear no bell.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and more importantly, Ultramarines just showed up at the end of the party and went.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, indeed you also have which we'll get into our next episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have an angry lion with dudes that are already mad and he's been setting shit on fire.
[SPEAKER_02]: if you met chaos in passing on the expressway, the lines like we should probably burn that down.
[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the situation of your right, the white scars, the Ravencrisole and the recovered, the lay angels have lost their primarque.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're all struggling, but you just got full force, all tremorines, full force, dark angels.
[SPEAKER_02]: And actually, full force.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and a good chunk of what's left of its base walls, all just showed up.
[SPEAKER_01]: and they missed the party and decided to make their own.
[SPEAKER_02]: And to be honest, I don't know who's more angry about it, Lehman Ross or the Lion.
[SPEAKER_02]: like both of those guys are bent and they also kind of got tricked by Horace, which is making them even more and more bad to that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we got duped and I'm on the other side of the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna ruin this guy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also he's dead.
[SPEAKER_02]: Can we provide him so I could kill him again?
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I'll just murder everyone he knows.
[SPEAKER_01]: And an important piece here is that the last thing the Emperor said before being entombed was you have to destroy chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's talk about that.
[SPEAKER_02]: So what I'm saying what he wanted is
[SPEAKER_02]: a free impure.
[SPEAKER_02]: Again, the Emperor while being a terrible English dad has a vision of no chaos taint, a free world that is not infringed by chaos and that's what he's going to and his sons went
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so should we should go on a genocidal look to take rampage to be to be perfectly fair here.
[SPEAKER_01]: His words were worth it.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he said.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, we should remove that the team to chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: We, I don't want chaos around.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get rid of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: But he said it to warriors who are going to take that one way and when my only of, oh, go kill all the guys who were on chaos on my way, Dad.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they took that literally, and just went, oh, so we should kill all of the chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And what is chaos?
[SPEAKER_02]: What is chaos?
[SPEAKER_02]: This is also the beginning of the Imperium turning to shit to be perfect.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're going to do an entire episode and not to dismiss the future on the inquisition and its origins.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they had a very broad definition of who is chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would even say they didn't know who was cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say it was even broad definition.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would argue they didn't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: They were kind of like thinking which trials.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, if you think you're innocent, if you feel you're.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone who doesn't make eye contact were shooting.
[SPEAKER_01]: And if they don't like their eye contact, I'm also.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're like, I don't really like, I'm not cool with this color.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I see there.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it was a big deal.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they, they effectively all meet.
[SPEAKER_02]: They meet at Tara.
[SPEAKER_02]: They, you know, do the Thundercats go put the hands in.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they go buck wild and they have a, they have new, great crusade energy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I believe what we should discuss is the situation that they've come in.
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, the Emperor is talking about, and this is really, this is important for shadowing for what ends up happening to the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: Tara just got bombed to oblivion.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're our, it wasn't just terrible.
[SPEAKER_02]: He got to figure that the, the, the Imperium is shredded.
[SPEAKER_02]: You, you don't really know who's casting.
[SPEAKER_02]: Who's not.
[SPEAKER_02]: And also, it's a galaxy literally at war.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what I'm even thinking.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm even talking about outside.
[SPEAKER_01]: And not like at war, like we've declared war and you want me to come get you.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's on fire and burning.
[SPEAKER_01]: The numbers that I was able to find were over three trillion or dead, at least, probably more than that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I only think, I think they would say three trillion, because I don't think GW knew the number above that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's also three trillion, but they're talking about the fighting forces.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then we're civilians are off.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no number.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's very fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: The issue that survivors have is, well, what is, what is chaos?
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we know the trailer legions.
[SPEAKER_01]: What do we do about Mars?
[SPEAKER_02]: Which is effectively fifty-fifty right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we've got an imperial navy that everyone, every single element that exists within the, within the, within the imperial.
[SPEAKER_01]: is X percent is chaos, and we don't know which ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have a world that went dark.
[SPEAKER_01]: That world go dark because it turned the chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: Did that world go dark because chaos attacked it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Did that world go dark because all their astronauts got shot?
[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, one of the biggest things on that is you do have to ask yourself, I think that they almost gave Mars a have pass because of the fact that they went
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we think that some of you guys might be cares.
[SPEAKER_02]: At a lot of you guys did some sketchy things.
[SPEAKER_02]: but also kind of, hey, we're at the end of World War II.
[SPEAKER_02]: You guys are bad guys, but also I'd like you to run half of this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just be honest.
[SPEAKER_01]: How do you tell the difference between a mechanic and a dark mechanic?
[SPEAKER_01]: If you look at, because the guy just tells you he's not that bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's a deep by actions.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, hey, this guy just cut the guy's arms off and put robotic arms on him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's totally dark mechanic.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, he's actually regular ad max.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's Ted.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's Ted.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ted loves him.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like an emperor, Ted too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the biggest thing is, like I said, they literally treated like World War II scientists.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, well, you were on the wrong side, but now you're on the good side.
[SPEAKER_02]: And also, we really need you guys to make stuff so that we can go get the bad guys quotation marks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Tell more Hall is dead.
[SPEAKER_01]: That guy's gone.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody has to be made an example of.
[SPEAKER_01]: Someone's someone's getting.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure there's some other bad guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I know that you guys are all good guys now.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, oh, yeah, please just leave us a little.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're definitely good guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: Another problem you have is chaos is now everywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: We went from and seven, eight and seven years.
[SPEAKER_01]: We went from there was no chaos or there was chaos, but no one really knew about chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's popping up all over.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's also there's cults and the thing is is that all there is just, remember the horse did a great job of
[SPEAKER_02]: propaganda misinformation.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is all the Imperium's fault.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you have these cults that took place because guys, your terrible suffering is for sure the Imperium's fault.
[SPEAKER_02]: And your life sucks and we'll get into this because it got stuck here.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: But that's all you know.
[SPEAKER_02]: So like, well,
[SPEAKER_02]: Now you did mean to, but you just joined a cultist squad, you know.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now they're the, and I, we covered this on the Elder episode about, you know, the birth of Sloan Ash.
[SPEAKER_01]: Once chaos gods are getting a taste of the depravity that the Elder put forth, they got empowered.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, as we just said here,
[SPEAKER_01]: at least three trillion no way more than that are dead.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they didn't die of old age.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they died of in ways that feed, nirgot, feed, zinech, feed, slonech, and feed corn.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_01]: So all those gods are more powerful.
[SPEAKER_01]: They've now also been breaching the material from the immaterial in taking over the trade allegiance.
[SPEAKER_01]: So chaos is also just popping up everywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not, the, the, the, the impereant doesn't know this.
[SPEAKER_01]: The problem is as they, but they're going to go out and wage their crusade back.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have no idea.
[SPEAKER_01]: They do a world though pass over.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's totally cool in two years might be pure chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they also kind of, in a dependent religion, and it also depends on what Lori you look into.
[SPEAKER_02]: Some of the legions still kind of thought the cast was just something that their fallen brothers found and utilized.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that was it.
[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't realize that this thing is insidious tendrils everywhere now.
[SPEAKER_02]: You open the Pandora's box and you're not getting it back in.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just everywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and that's why I like this idea of a world that you look at today to, oh, they're good.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're totally fine answering and move on because you remember we still have to move linear.
[SPEAKER_01]: These guys have to leave to come out of the galaxy and start moving in a straight-ish path away.
[SPEAKER_01]: As you go, you're going to check on a world in the world's totally cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to move forward.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to fall the chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't realize it's falling the chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I have to double back and do all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this what they're about to step into.
[SPEAKER_01]: really does set the stage for the inquisition, sisters, all this stuff that are coming up.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because you're getting bit literally bit in the ass because of a world would fall to chaos when your ten systems away and that was the logistics.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, since place all you have is shipping you all your food.
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually it was a hub for all your food now is nirgot.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then you have to go back and that's happened multiple times now.
[SPEAKER_02]: And now you don't even have that not only did you not you were you're not even able to recapture it now you eliminated that and now you don't you need another one.
[SPEAKER_02]: So now they kept going well if we were to done this right the first time and you would have just accepted acceptable losses of
[SPEAKER_01]: every one of you so but this is I want to cover this way because one thing I didn't like when I kind of do some research into the scouring as we call this is we refer to scouring as a period of time the scouring has never ended my first time considering that the scouring began when horror is died and we are in the forty first millennia now and it's still going on this is the scouring to be more of a secret though because they still
[SPEAKER_02]: Pretend that chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: People don't know about chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: The average imperium citizen still does not know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what I'm talking about is that when you look at it from an imperial history standpoint, they refer to it at this period of the scouring in my life.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, this is forever.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're a hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is this is just what we do now.
[SPEAKER_01]: We just we just renamed it a few different times.
[SPEAKER_01]: The reason I've been up is that when we're going to cover today is kind of the earlier part of the scouring person, this doesn't end.
[SPEAKER_01]: The plan was to wipe out chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you played the game, you're aware that they didn't.
[SPEAKER_02]: One of my favorite parts of this is Bobby G comes up with amazing plans and nobody pays attention to them.
[SPEAKER_02]: They all agree, everybody high-fives Bobby G. It says you're right.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a great plan.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then they go yellow swag.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm not ever.
[SPEAKER_02]: They go, hey, I'm going to make a bunch of twelve inch charges.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and that's, so let's go into kind of that exact piece.
[SPEAKER_01]: They all get to Tara.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he said they have their discussion and everyone agrees with the Amperes at White.cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go White.cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: Bobby G. Offers up a plan.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, he, well, it's not like he gives a plan.
[SPEAKER_02]: He, it's not like he has a manifesto.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was writing the whole.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, this is, this is good job.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's got everything.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is how it's going to go.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is the perfect way.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is how we stamp out chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: And everyone goes, we hundred percent agree.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then they leave.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he goes, but that wasn't part of the plan.
[SPEAKER_02]: They goes, no one's following this plan.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because they all, especially the Lion and Lehman.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, very strong opinions of what they were going to ask Bobby G's presentation.
[SPEAKER_01]: Five stars.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good job.
[SPEAKER_01]: A hundred percent totally.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it also should do to have made a wildly better impure him because his was a conquer rebuild refocus, basically reeducate the populist and move on.
[SPEAKER_01]: and laying the line in the line basically with, I'm down for vengeance.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I need to go hit somebody now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what happens if you're hitting them?
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to find someone else to hit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what happens then?
[SPEAKER_01]: See part one.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, what about that rebuilding effort?
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, I forgot about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't, someone will do that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, I'm pretty sure it's just gonna make more chaos happen.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, nah, I don't probably work at South Island.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll punch that chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: But by the way, foreshadowing did not, did not, did not, did not, did not.
[SPEAKER_02]: Weirdly enough, if you beat the crap out of somebody and you leave, they're not super cool with that.
[SPEAKER_01]: The other problem though with this is chaos and we're going to get to how fast they did this did have a place to flee that made this whole process effectively impossible, which was the eye of terror exists.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they all could just go into the eye of terror.
[SPEAKER_02]: They took the most odd roots though.
[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm getting at is that this whole plan of like, I'm going to go hunt them down and kill them all.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, well, then you're going to have to go into the place.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's an infinite number of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not really going to work.
[SPEAKER_01]: And also the laws of physics don't actually like this doesn't make any sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you're not works.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't make this happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: In some of them, the works could have wiped out case.
[SPEAKER_01]: I will say that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm saying that as a work player and that I know I'm right, the orcs could have with through power of belief, just by the app.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he could have just said, I'm going to kill corn and then corn would appear in via a war boss, the war boss would kill corn and corn, stop to exist because the, that's just how that works function.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have no idea why.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no one knows how it happened.
[SPEAKER_02]: But if you have drops, let's talk about some of the things that happen because a couple of allegiance won.
[SPEAKER_02]: Embers, children, have been read kind of at twenty two times before what they did.
[SPEAKER_02]: The after they went to the after they went to gap and rounded up the employees and took them to the eye of tear.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they kind of just went to different places and did raids, start elder style among them.
[SPEAKER_02]: And just kind of made their way and didn't get into a ton of skirmishes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Their legions, fairly intact, comparatively.
[SPEAKER_01]: What I think that that's also because of their slenesh, slenesh is not really slenesh is not an enemy yet, shit from demon players here, but slenesh is not a combat god.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, nesh really seems to only love overwhelming odds in her favor.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a success.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's all it's all it's all success.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not this is the opposite of a corn or an orc.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, where they actually are trying to really take on the biggest battle.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm going to show you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Biggest in the bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're more than happy to raid the planet of all farmers and just take the farmers back to tortureville and have one in torture.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so they get back to the I tear semi quickly.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, when we say semi quickly, the I tear is again.
[SPEAKER_02]: far away.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it's a galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was in the dead center of the Eldar galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: In the Eldar Empire was so far away from humanity that they didn't think that humanity, even though they were taking literally millions of planets was worth bothering with because it was far away.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's how far they were away.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they go away.
[SPEAKER_02]: The island warriors make a bunch of weird stands for
[SPEAKER_01]: kind of no reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they just, well, it seemed like they just went to build forts, which we've already established to not as good as other.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but the, the, none of their stands make any sense.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, but like most of the reason they took made a stand is because someone wanted to write a story about another chapter.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, but guys, that's just, that is, let's, sorry, I had warriors, but they, they literally just use them as the foil to tell a story about how cool X chapter was in winning a story, a battle against iron warriors who were just stopping at random places.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, hey, we got to stop here.
[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
[SPEAKER_02]: Because we got to lose later to so-and-so chapter.
[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
[SPEAKER_02]: It says here in the script.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's where I'm just following the script.
[SPEAKER_01]: What's the script?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not important.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're like we're basically WWE wrestlers, but I don't know this.
[SPEAKER_01]: What can what Legion?
[SPEAKER_01]: So which which chaos god or iron warriors attached to?
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're identified at the end of my thinking.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I thought.
[SPEAKER_02]: because they never, he finally, he wasn't even a demon prince for like a forever.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: That he's just, they, because again, he just was full of furious anger to go screw your robot on.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just true curry, but you also do have Eldar who are now kind of, you know, the craft world.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the craft ones are like doing Eldar stuff, which means that they're looking into the future and going, if we prune this branch, and sometimes you live on that branch.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they go, yeah, but you're eventually going to be chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're just going to kill you now and you're like, but I'm not chaos now you're like, yeah, but I'm like a hundred years you'll be you're like, I will live on.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're a fifty.
[SPEAKER_02]: This time.

[SPEAKER_01]: So a world that would say, hey, you have to produce a thousand bushels of, hey, I'm using a very incorrect term here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now you're going to them and saying, hey, I know you're doing a thousand bushels of hay, and I know a bunch of you were dead, but we get fifteen hundred or two thousand bushels of hay now.

[SPEAKER_02]: You were isolated from information for somewhere between five and ten, fifteen, some of these more.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, years, the whole thing was semi-longer for some people.
[SPEAKER_02]: Again, we also have warp time, you know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so, but the big thing is it's like, you may or may not have been conquered, you may have not have been isolated.
[SPEAKER_02]: You don't know what's going on.
[SPEAKER_02]: All you know is that
[SPEAKER_02]: Terrible shit might happen to you tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what you should do?
[SPEAKER_02]: Let whoever it is make that stuff not happen.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and the thing is, I want to go on to one of the notes that John has and this is why I kind of went and branch on this is
[SPEAKER_02]: The Emperor is dead, but the Emperor is not dead.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Emperor tried to put it in quotation marks.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, but this is where it becomes terrible because the Emperor becomes literally the thing that he was fighting against.
[SPEAKER_02]: because the emperor died and effectively for the populist, which is what the inquisition says, the emperor died but was ascended to better the emperor
[SPEAKER_02]: is a god now.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Emperor is defeating chaos personally, which now he kind of is, but at the time, the time, the Emperor is just holding it bay, the problem, sorry, the Magnus, you didn't do anything wrong, but you did ruin a lot of things.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Emperor is pretty busy.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's a, he's a carcass on a throne and he's got some shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's got to take care of.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he's also fragmented with his psyche and he's everywhere.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You like, hey, man, you have to make sure the cast doesn't destroy the entire galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And also you're going to take care of what twenty two thousand other things.
[SPEAKER_02]: And also your personality got shattered into a billion shards.
[SPEAKER_02]: Can you take care of all that tomorrow?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's the thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as a citizenry, what do you do?

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, think of it this way.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you're, if a space Marine ship appears or a fleet appears in orbit.
[SPEAKER_02]: You don't know whether you're getting killed or whether you're getting saved.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing is, is that that's why the inquisition now becomes the shining light, because they said, the Emperor protects the Emperor saves.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's all you need to have.
[SPEAKER_02]: You need to take everything you had to think about and condense that into the Emperor saves.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and or just the Emperor?
[SPEAKER_02]: blank.

[SPEAKER_01]: What this leads a rise to is a term called the Imperial Truth.
[SPEAKER_02]: Which is where I can already win.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which is literally you and this is I mean Stalin asked I mean it's I mean it's If you want to go real things you have to swear a legency to the state in a Comical way but like it's it is you have to be all encompassing in the third problem is is this becomes it doesn't become the norm right away, but it becomes the like

[SPEAKER_01]: This whole face is setting the stage for what is modern forty k of, you know, everything is about the emperor, you worship the worship that the god emperor, all these things, because as a member of the imperium, I have three choices.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, every herding.
[SPEAKER_01]: And choice three is to declare, feel tea to the imperium and hope that they put it.

[SPEAKER_02]: What the thing is is that you're you're you're down selling out because declaring field he isn't just Hey man, I'm on your side right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm a friend of I'm a big fan of living in the United States You know what I did not have to do declare my body and soul to the United States and also sign something that says if I ever go against

[SPEAKER_02]: And every imperial citizen knows now that, well, in the modern world of Forty-K, that's just how it is, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: Those are kind of yours, but otherwise, if you're just kind of on the northern fringe, man, and also for those of you who don't realize the neck runs haven't come back yet, and the tear and it's haven't hit the galaxy.
