<v Speaker 1>big over there, screeching and jumping out. You could feel
<v Speaker 1>the grown chicken. And I was like, finey, I'm like
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to go around a tree and cut and
<v Speaker 1>or those bushes and see what this thing is. Well,
<v Speaker 1>my mom did other flots, you know, She's like grabs
<v Speaker 1>my hands like we're out of here. Yeah, So we
<v Speaker 1>all took off through the car and that was we
<v Speaker 1>were going well on the paper, you know, through the apple,

<v Speaker 1>break a leg. Go yeah, And I followed them as
<v Speaker 1>the skin looked like so when they tried to grab it,
<v Speaker 1>and then I was the hind quarters and grab you know,
<v Speaker 1>on and the deer took off like you know, big
<v Speaker 1>chunker like height you know there. Yeah, so I think
<v Speaker 1>give me. I got one there by a bunch of tracks,
<v Speaker 1>you know, just single they went again, just a single
<v Speaker 1>one fifteen stride and tracks all over the place, so
<v Speaker 1>you know, him going through and he just took off somewhere. Well,
<v Speaker 1>that was interesting, and then I got to know that
<v Speaker 1>it's up. He's a professional diet used to be up
<v Speaker 1>on like Alaska stuff. I got to know him on Facebook,
<v Speaker 1>you know, and he's really good. He used to have
<v Speaker 1>a keep echail or something. My knee is that good?

<v Speaker 1>sand and made a little sand puddle. I guess it
<v Speaker 1>cause you know water and sandy area. And there was
<v Speaker 1>another thirteen inch I'm puous the same one. I about
<v Speaker 1>a five inch trough aile print too clear prints and
<v Speaker 1>a couple you could see it just dragged and you know,
<v Speaker 1>went back up more on the road and you couldn't
<v Speaker 1>see anymore of a good go on. Then the grand
<v Speaker 1>f Now he told me the golden nugget was. And
<v Speaker 1>so there was a big one out there, twenty three
<v Speaker 1>inch sprinked. You're gonna think somebody's spring a joke, as
<v Speaker 1>is like beyond words, but it's real. You'll find him.
<v Speaker 1>There's another location. You know, we're deep in the wilderness area.
<v Speaker 1>And sure enough where he decaid to go and go
<v Speaker 1>into swamps. I worked, went to night shifter, this, that
<v Speaker 1>and there. I think that's pretty white. So and I
<v Speaker 1>missed the little slide where you wanted me a little
<v Speaker 1>clothes scary nut to open. But we ended up about
<v Speaker 1>half mile from where ideally I wanted a camp. And
<v Speaker 1>I was tired after much of mid nights and driving
<v Speaker 1>for hours, and and and and so we set up camp.
<v Speaker 1>There's this little like a peninsula on a little pond,
<v Speaker 1>boggy pond, and he's you know, you see it. Some
<v Speaker 1>me cleared it out and up row camp. Are you
<v Speaker 1>there was fire a bit. Well, we stayed there, and
<v Speaker 1>I'm next morning we went out and looked, or I
<v Speaker 1>went out and looked. He's he was scared, I was,
<v Speaker 1>And he heard stuff in the swamps that night. I
<v Speaker 1>slept through everything. So in the morning he's because he
<v Speaker 1>was up all night scared. I went down walk that
<v Speaker 1>area and they had been walking on the shoulder, but
<v Speaker 1>the big one walked into the main and rode and
<v Speaker 1>taken about four steps and back onto their shoulder, that
<v Speaker 1>big twenty three incher. And there's hundreds and hundreds of
<v Speaker 1>print that I went back and I should have woke
<v Speaker 1>him up. He was out, you know. There was a
<v Speaker 1>seventh or was the twenty three, and I would pick
<v Speaker 1>up about seventeen and then that nineteen eighty from the
<v Speaker 1>guy told me it's like there's the male, the female,
<v Speaker 1>and a large to be there. So I found hundreds
<v Speaker 1>of prints to that on that location, and I'm trying
<v Speaker 1>to think what else has happened, like fixed her upper house.

<v Speaker 1>woods all around it one thing. They're coming in. Rocks

<v Speaker 1>other side of the drivers, an old sister and the
<v Speaker 1>types and they were just looks like a cannonball with

<v Speaker 1>back in the day for like road construction when you
<v Speaker 1>you know the fild, it looks like a canniball's little

<v Speaker 1>the road and maybe a hundred feet in front of
<v Speaker 1>her right now. They seemed across that one spot between
<v Speaker 1>the swamps the roads on you know, swamping east side.

<v Speaker 1>when I phone those tracks that morning, the big twenty
<v Speaker 1>three in that when I was walking back where my
<v Speaker 1>kid and the van because we slept in a mini
<v Speaker 1>my mini van. Right when I was leaving, I heard

<v Speaker 1>there with eleven o'clock, I heard one tree knock way
<v Speaker 1>across the way into swamps trying to sinkle backers anymore.

<v Speaker 1>a tree stumped. It got up a lot wait and
<v Speaker 1>the dog went with it. And then the dog was
<v Speaker 1>never seen again. And then it really wanted to tell
<v Speaker 1>what over his dog it was, Oh, this is well,
<v Speaker 1>But that was another one I know of. And in
<v Speaker 1>that little Lotle cow more towards town there was a
<v Speaker 1>when you were kids. They're probably you know, mid teens

<v Speaker 1>MUD's dog can come lunch. Another guy I know just
<v Speaker 1>throw him onund about a half hour west to meet up.
<v Speaker 1>Was called Champion Area and he is go up to
<v Speaker 1>high lean back maybe a half a mile and I've
<v Speaker 1>been back or went or twice. I don't really know
<v Speaker 1>the area. But his neighbor had three pit bulls fast
<v Speaker 1>stand just sort of mean up maybe two summers ago,
<v Speaker 1>and one's missing, one was dead in the backyard. One
<v Speaker 1>they phoned half of it. But a block away. Oh wow,
<v Speaker 1>you know what would take out three pit bulls? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you know, and have his strength to rip really rip
<v Speaker 1>one and half. But they phone half the dog. You know,
<v Speaker 1>there's been dog, a couple of reports the dog man
<v Speaker 1>fur the rest of there just scattered up here, a couple,
<v Speaker 1>but you always one of the two. You know, no
<v Speaker 1>person's going to do that, you know, and one's missing,
<v Speaker 1>one's dead, and you know no obviously a gunshots, snap
<v Speaker 1>neck or some one's a blockwave ripped in half fucking
<v Speaker 1>do that. But those are the big ones that come
<v Speaker 1>to mine abort, you know. Various the guy, the professional guy,
<v Speaker 1>I know, he's had rocks chucked at him. He was
<v Speaker 1>a guy that gout on Alaska and stuff. He's really good.

<v Speaker 2>stories where rock throwing resulted in someone actually being hit.

<v Speaker 1>that severe. But you know it isn't a huge rock.

<v Speaker 1>see when he ran from one hind from one side

<v Speaker 1>the edge of it. I'm not really sure once I'd

<v Speaker 1>was a rock that must have been like, no it
<v Speaker 1>can you know, something you could pick up and toss
<v Speaker 1>maybe fifteen twenty feet if you're really good. But you know,
<v Speaker 1>it came like from the other side of the yard,
<v Speaker 1>you know, maybe over the house or maybe over there's
<v Speaker 1>a little back porch, or probably over the quart but
<v Speaker 1>huge distance and it landed you know, the distance to
<v Speaker 1>the house, the distance of the driveway which is an
<v Speaker 1>old street, and landed on the camp or on the
<v Speaker 1>other side. It took an arm to do that. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>And so he got that one kid got nicked and
<v Speaker 1>Henry's bleeding. My kid got nicked with got you the
<v Speaker 1>pro rock thing in the head and he was bleeding.

<v Speaker 1>other two came running up, the older ones. There's a
<v Speaker 1>guy and his girl open there about twenty They came
<v Speaker 1>running up like what's going on? And they ended up
<v Speaker 1>hiding udar, their thrill heighten under that camper, and then
<v Speaker 1>you decided it was better to run down hill to
<v Speaker 1>the coldy sack where you know there's a couple of hogs.
<v Speaker 1>But they did that, and they consider it was skilled
<v Speaker 1>stuff coming down at them, and that's sort of where
<v Speaker 1>it ended though. I mean, you were down close through
<v Speaker 1>to Hollis and stuff or they didn't you know, whatever
<v Speaker 1>was going after him deciding up it isn't took off. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and since they're multiple location, there probably would have been
<v Speaker 1>two or three of them.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that that sounds like something pretty intense. You know,
<v Speaker 2>you don't really hear about you don't hear about rock throwing,
<v Speaker 2>but uh, that seems pretty severe, especially on kids like that.

<v Speaker 1>local vermin. I've had breakings from local vermin, but nothing

<v Speaker 1>slow life here. So if there's something to see, you know,
<v Speaker 1>the kind of stuff storing there, you know, probably end

<v Speaker 1>said he saw the sort of glowing red eyes. Oh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>my friends was up there. You after, I had its
<v Speaker 1>own lock cat. I was hoping you get more done.

<v Speaker 1>kids over that no like for you know, kid toys.

<v Speaker 1>she saw one crossed across the road, you know, from
<v Speaker 1>one side, just rode swamp at the other and she here,
<v Speaker 1>he lives on the other side of the hill. He
<v Speaker 1>hears a lot of noise in other swamps. So you know,
<v Speaker 1>I think they might be going in there looking for
<v Speaker 1>food of some kind.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of the things that you've mentioned involved dogs.
<v Speaker 2>What do you think is going on? Do you think
<v Speaker 2>they see dogs as like a potential food source or
<v Speaker 2>a threat or what do you think there deal is

<v Speaker 1>From what I've had, sort of a combination of the two.

<v Speaker 1>they don't like dogs, consider h a threat, and you
<v Speaker 1>consider him food too. So it could have been you
<v Speaker 1>know that one, the one where the guy saw it,
<v Speaker 1>you know, he thought it was a stump and it
<v Speaker 1>I was just running around, you know, the dog had
<v Speaker 1>been missing for a while. Who knows when he ran
<v Speaker 1>into that squatch glad he thought it was something to
<v Speaker 1>play with, and yeah, you know, or who knows they
<v Speaker 1>had just encomorded each other for the first time. Who knows.
<v Speaker 1>You know, you're just happening in the right place at
<v Speaker 1>the right time, and you're you know, two teen years
<v Speaker 1>smoke a cigarettes, talking about girls or whatever, and way
<v Speaker 1>across the swamps, he just you know, they wrote, oh, look,
<v Speaker 1>did you missing dog running around a stump? And you know,
<v Speaker 1>not too long. I don't know how long he sat
<v Speaker 1>there went on, but the dog, this stump stood up
<v Speaker 1>and locked away. You know it was this. It wasn't
<v Speaker 1>a stump, was a squatch and the dog went with it.
<v Speaker 1>And the dog was never seen again. You know, it
<v Speaker 1>could have just been at The dog just happened running
<v Speaker 1>to him at that time, who knows.
<v Speaker 2>And got lucky and found a friendly squatch.
<v Speaker 1>Who might have decided to do with stasty later the
<v Speaker 1>dog was never seen again.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it might have something to do with how
<v Speaker 2>the dogs react to them too, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Right right, you know that location an. The other one
<v Speaker 1>was the pit bulls. There may be thirty miles apart,
<v Speaker 1>roughly at twenty thirty. I know there's camp be a
<v Speaker 1>ways from us, so you're some disitions. You know. It
<v Speaker 1>was probably a different clan I've heard of, you know,
<v Speaker 1>it seems to be different clans up hearing different locations
<v Speaker 1>further south of there. When of my friends were a
<v Speaker 1>kid and a couple with friends where that would have
<v Speaker 1>made the ten miles south or something. They were out
<v Speaker 1>riding or four wheel there's dirt bikes whatever, and they
<v Speaker 1>stopped in there is this big you know, something big
<v Speaker 1>shaked in a tree in addistance, and they took off
<v Speaker 1>you know, they's like some big shake in that tree.
<v Speaker 1>It must have been not too happy, but I'm and
<v Speaker 1>they just took off. I remember hearing a story years ago.
<v Speaker 1>I remember all the details, and not too too far
<v Speaker 1>from that, there's a camp on a river out in
<v Speaker 1>the middle of nowhere, and they like, you know, people
<v Speaker 1>swim in the river and common rock tosses out there
<v Speaker 1>and various other things. I've heard various stories, so they're
<v Speaker 1>commonly seen in that area, and it's not uncommon for
<v Speaker 1>far side the river. People are just swimming at some
<v Speaker 1>weird hour and boom, big old rocks complaining. And there's
<v Speaker 1>no camps or something that crafts from there. It just
<v Speaker 1>would it's like private. I saw our of privates. They
<v Speaker 1>got a little bit of the area, but it was
<v Speaker 1>almost too many private signs or maybe camps further up.
<v Speaker 1>But I've looked on the maps. Nothing right across from there,
<v Speaker 1>but woods.
<v Speaker 2>Now are all these different areas connected by that river
<v Speaker 2>that you talked about.
<v Speaker 1>Well, there's a couple of different rivers there. That one's
<v Speaker 1>that would be a different river Oka, but that location
<v Speaker 1>right there would be I don't know, ten twelve miles
<v Speaker 1>for my fixture up or house where you know, they
<v Speaker 1>just like a crew were going to cover a good area. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>even kayacha to move around because they can't see and
<v Speaker 1>when spot all the critters will leave, you know. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>so I'm assuming they cover up there. The good territory
<v Speaker 1>of a clan coup a pretty good territory, I'm guessing.
<v Speaker 1>But those are close enough. I think it's all the
<v Speaker 1>same plan. I'm not sure.

<v Speaker 1>was like cat night or something. But one single knock

<v Speaker 1>I've seen ban over trees, but sometimes it's hard to
<v Speaker 1>tell if they're natural because we get a lot of
<v Speaker 1>heavy winter up here and they'll bench stuff over or
<v Speaker 1>if it's you know, not natural. Some I think appeared
<v Speaker 1>like over a trail or something review just one. I've
<v Speaker 1>seen something like a tripod that could have just been formed,
<v Speaker 1>you know, trees coming down, but it was or could
<v Speaker 1>have flif a clant. Sometimes you don't know right, you
<v Speaker 1>know it is it real or distant from ri sclatch
<v Speaker 1>or just nature just landed that way. You know. It's
<v Speaker 1>hard to tell. Yeah, but stories of people seeing one
<v Speaker 1>across the road or driving along they see one running
<v Speaker 1>in the woods, you know, and then like a more

<v Speaker 1>lucky eight or ten feet I mean and went green

<v Speaker 1>it sat before even if they've carried it, you know,

<v Speaker 1>probably a good one hundred fifty feet, i'd have to

<v Speaker 1>a huge distance that I couldn't even imagine doing.

<v Speaker 1>a huge, huge, huge, huge hwan. You know they decided
<v Speaker 1>to go wrest some little kids. Yeah, it's just it

<v Speaker 1>should have traded it, it got any princh off or
<v Speaker 1>I didn't even think of that, but I still got
<v Speaker 1>I kept it after that, whatever it was in it,
<v Speaker 1>you know, I don't know if the kids drained it
<v Speaker 1>or whatever. It was heavy at the time. Yeah, but

<v Speaker 1>about them sort of grolling of I remember hearing the
<v Speaker 1>perims that seame area. I'm trying to remember all the
<v Speaker 1>who told well when it's been forty years, you know
<v Speaker 1>where the team named like glowing or shimmering. Now what
<v Speaker 1>I've read, I think they're they're they're here and might
<v Speaker 1>have like are okay, almost like it all blend into
<v Speaker 1>the colors around it, and well if those lights are
<v Speaker 1>that bright, ringing, you could see it you know, and
<v Speaker 1>the nice sky is all that help under third conditions,
<v Speaker 1>maybe there's enough light where you're that that fur or
<v Speaker 1>hair where we're gonna call it with that howl shaft,
<v Speaker 1>would you know, absorb some of that light and help
<v Speaker 1>where it looks like almost like almost like that a
<v Speaker 1>little glow to them, you know. Yeah, And that's just
<v Speaker 1>my theory of it because I normally don't hear all
<v Speaker 1>things like that, you know. I think that that it
<v Speaker 1>does help them, help them the camouflage and blend into
<v Speaker 1>this into the background better almost like a natural camouflage.

<v Speaker 1>and greatious enough where you get that chimming effect. You know.

<v Speaker 1>we didn't see anything. He wasn't gonna go stick this
<v Speaker 1>set out. Another time I was out there, I didn't
<v Speaker 1>find any tracks. But I didn't have my phone with

<v Speaker 1>he changed his underwear crunting beal and he los his

<v Speaker 1>leg and or maybe a broke neck or whatever. None's
<v Speaker 1>been taken out, but somebody rip your rip it got

<v Speaker 1>which would make sense that you know, that's what would
<v Speaker 1>have the nutrients. You're yonder hanging on by a thread
<v Speaker 1>with these kind of interests and they need that nutrition,

<v Speaker 1>pretty much use as except for the liver, no even
<v Speaker 1>but stept for at one time I've read about it.

<v Speaker 1>anything into swamps, beavers, muskrats, turtles, eggs from like you know,
<v Speaker 1>bird ducks or whatever. You know thing cut to duck
<v Speaker 1>or duck eggs, I mean different frogs. I your broom
<v Speaker 1>had tails. There's but I think a couple other things.
<v Speaker 1>Any swamps that are eatable, I mean where rex. I
<v Speaker 1>think they use the swamps for a lot, but in
<v Speaker 1>like early spring. And that's one of the things I
<v Speaker 1>realized is I don't think they use them much in
<v Speaker 1>early spring because you think about it. Okay, if you're
<v Speaker 1>gonna get wet, what you know, when you get you stay,
<v Speaker 1>you're waiting around. It's in a swamp and it's cold out.
<v Speaker 1>Number one, there aren't get me much. You're gonna flying.
<v Speaker 1>Number two, you're gonna your your your water around and
<v Speaker 1>you know we mighty. Or you're gonna get wet, you're
<v Speaker 1>gonna borrow on energy. You might take a risk get sick,
<v Speaker 1>you know, so I don't think they would use the
<v Speaker 1>swamps so much an early cold weather, but maybe like sprint,
<v Speaker 1>you know this the fish runs the you know, the
<v Speaker 1>deer yards, like I said, going after the deer just
<v Speaker 1>sort of liver stuff like that. And when summer sturts,
<v Speaker 1>you know, the more you learn about who the tribe.
<v Speaker 1>Then when you said that, how the tribes the local
<v Speaker 1>tribes there are you know, different areas that you know,
<v Speaker 1>you know up here they weren't hunting buffalo out on
<v Speaker 1>the planes they were they were hotting deer ear and
<v Speaker 1>buffalo out now in the plane states and up in
<v Speaker 1>the mountains, you know, different different locations and you know,
<v Speaker 1>you look at how the tribes are dipped through that
<v Speaker 1>area you know before you know, over the centuries before
<v Speaker 1>the white man came and change everything, and you would
<v Speaker 1>learn a lot about that. I do wonder how much
<v Speaker 1>of their knowledge of fire is. You know, there's the
<v Speaker 1>tribes that some of me. It was a great responsibility
<v Speaker 1>if you were the fire keeper, because you always had
<v Speaker 1>to keep some ashes and stuff where if the fire
<v Speaker 1>went out, you always had a way to restarted because
<v Speaker 1>they have a big layer to start it. If they were,
<v Speaker 1>and they did have ways that you're starting with moss
<v Speaker 1>and afters are kind of rocks. They would the party
<v Speaker 1>used to start fire with a lot of stuff back
<v Speaker 1>where they would you know, to keep they use the
<v Speaker 1>rocks they have like go pockets and they put moss
<v Speaker 1>in there and putting next to the fire to dry

<v Speaker 1>sacks that you know, this stuff will start easy with.

<v Speaker 1>and you put this on it boldly. You'll get her

<v Speaker 1>squatch doesn't know how to do it or not. They
<v Speaker 1>they have someone might have some knowledge of it.

<v Speaker 1>they don't really understand it. What sort of a monkey

<v Speaker 1>learn how to build a basic dam on the river

<v Speaker 1>things they could learn from human And if they stole
<v Speaker 1>a couple of tools from a human, like an axe
<v Speaker 1>or something, they could figure it out. If they watch
<v Speaker 1>the humans. Who is sitting that guy left in planes
<v Speaker 1>like boom. They do tend to steal soft I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I think they have a limited knowledge. They're not brilliant,
<v Speaker 1>but they understand some things, and they have a place
<v Speaker 1>that sends the language or like the tribes, they know
<v Speaker 1>how to live off the land. But I'm looking forward
