M hey, it's Tuesday, June the fourteenth, twenty sixteen. E three is upon us on the Giant bomb cast show is raging. I am Brad Shoemaker. Jeff Gersman, how is your show going? It's gone great. I am off to my first appointment as we speak. I have fun, Yes, I later, have a good time. See you later, Alex show Navarro. Yes, how many ham duets have you eaten? Not enough? No? Never enough? I mean I should like if if I if there is a minute spend at E three, then I'm not eating a ham duet. It is a minute wasted stuff. A few in your back pocket? Yeah, they keep well, I find Yeah, No, those things will survive a fucking nuclear explosion. Yeah, Drew Scandaling. Yes, E three is upon me and I can't breathe. Yeah. Are you drowning? Yes, it's suffocating. It is sitting on my chest. I woke up there was this E three looking creature sitting on my chest. E three is filling your nostrils, yes, flooding out your lungs. It's Graham Dan. Happy flag day, is it? Yeah? Okay, alright, let's wave a flag. Then what's a ham duet? Oh, you'll find out. Okay, I like Ham. I don't know what it is, but that's two. We'll give you the hands two hams, all right, I like one ham. Two's gonna be better stible to Ham. Jason, Ay Striker. I'll meet you guys back at the hotel. Okay. Actually, I don't know if I'm gonna get to see three. We're gonna be setting up for the night show. Oh yeah, right, Yeah, there will be a lot to come tonight, yes, starting tonight, starting tonight, well, we'll have done a munch a lot of stuff already, but yeah, the official guest schedule will be in full swing as of tonight. And what a schedule it. It's gonna be yeah, totally Wednesday and Thursday, indeed, yeah, throughout the way, those are all right, but Tuesday, back tonight, Tuesday. We're actually recording this several days in advanced V three. Sorry to spoil the magic June. It's the ninth. It is the ninth, Thursday, Thursday. There's a Destiny live stream happening right now. Yeah, leaks are continuing to leak. I don't know that there's much left too, Yeah, I don't know. I think there's there's something. I mean, at least there's very little that I know about that has not Yeah, same already leaked. I mean, obviously there will be stuff at press conferences that we don't are Privy two just yet. Sure, but yeah, it seems like a dwindling amount of stuff, right, Yeah, I mean, you know, leaks are you know, happening every year. It's just that it seems like there's maybe not so much stuff going on this year. Maybe they'll advertise your game on Snapchat, sure, or Twitch or anywhere if you wanted to remain or sell it at game Stop. Yeah, if you wanted to remain sec a Singapore based retailer. Uh So this is a sealed endless podcast, So we're gonna record this. This is our traditional d This is our traditional sealed envelope podcast in the ground, which in the past was sealed up because Jeff would see a bunch of stuff at the E three Judges week, right, which the embargo on that would lift the show open. Yeah, that would be kind of the last, the last possible last of the rolling embargoes. So we just kind of hold everything until then and then you'd be like, hey, this is what I've spent five days seeing right as opposed to the like what would you say? Like it was a little it was slightly over one day and most of the events were centered around one game as opposed to a full company's full lineup. M Yeah or or yes, a robotic arm. Yeah, that's I mean, that's something like. The video might not explain it because it is just video of manipulating an arm with with a webcam. But that is for people who need an arm attached to their body, a real arm, the real Yes, a proper arm. Then I could use another arm. Yeah, I'll take one and that that company also makes like iron Man licensed arms and a bunch of other stuff. So it's a licensed DSX arm that you can attach to yourself. If you're in the business from needing an arm, what if I have an arm? Can I have that? Still? You would need to get rid of that arm. Elective bionics is not really a thing yet, and you might want to wait for the tech to get a little bit better. So I might want to wait for the big boss arm. They're they're yeah, they're three D printing these arms. So it's actually is a lot cheaper and more affordable for people than than a lot of prosthetics have like a lot of bionics have been in the past. But we're getting there. But we're not at the body replacement stage yet. Can I get on a waiting list for that? Can I be the first too to get on there? Because that's how I mean, you can get on my list for that. You can literally three D print these arms so you can make your You could print out your own DSX arm and attach it to yourself, should you have the ability to do that, which you probably don't, but I'll figure it out. Some people get a like hip replacement before they even need it, just in case. I think that might I think that, Yeah, I think I think that there's like risk factors though, that are involved in making that choice, as opposed to something you just do kind of Willy knew it because like, I don't know, I can make this hip. You might need to punch through a wall. Yeah, I mean, I definitely right. So why not just get that big boss arm on? Ye yep, yeah, that sound built in. Do you want to start with DX or do you want to just take it from the top of the week that is the top of the week? Actually, yeah, So that was the first event was Square, and Square had the largest lineup of anything that I saw prior to the show. And it was a pretty solid looking lineup. Uh not that I I did not take a look at every game there honestly, but uh, what were the high points das X certainly they they that's where they showed that, so that they have since announced all this stuff like the you know, like the week before you three they had their their live stream where they showed a lot of the same stuff. So they have a mode called Breach in that game, which is a side mode that is like a score based like level up kind of arcady, uh cards one time use cards to give yourself like things in the you know, as you build load outs and so it's like this, it's like a VR mission, so you kind of you can run through, collect data from these servers and then escape. Yeah, and it's the same basic gameplay of Days X, but with you know, some different options and items and stuff like that. Yeah, it is at least what they showed was solo. So they showed the trailer and it was the same trailer they showed it their their live stream, and I kept waiting for it to be like and there are four of you, but it never did. So it seems like it should definitely be this co op mode, but it's not that. Almost that almost sounds more like a daily to me, in like a Splunky context or something. It's like, here's these missions that everybody competes in, right, here's your daily challenge, your leader Well yeah, but I think it's just leaderboards for every mission and you you are playing through a set progression of things, and you know it's a live game, so it's like, you know, that was definitely like I get the impression that'll be the the buzzword type thing you hear for the next year or so. It was like, hey, this is how we're making our single player games something that you won't sell back by adding this thing to it that will change and give you like like ongoing challenges. Frankly, for some games, that's a better option than cramming in a multiplace. Yeah. I mean it's it's it's really working for that new Hitman, except for when it boots boots you off the server in the middle of the mission, well yeah, there's that, but otherwise pretty good. Yeah. I think my thing with this is, you know, they had their whole presentation, they showed the main game, Adam Jensen doing his thing obviously, and I think that looks good, uh, and and I want to play that game. And then they talked a lot about like, oh, you know, the the present, like when we built this D S X universe, like we thought we wanted to go far flung future, you know, but like still grounded in some kind of reality, and we're finding that, you know, uh, technology is catching up with our vision of the future faster than we thought. And here's this DA SX bionic arm that they're literally making, and all this other stuff. So it's like this this So they have like that story, which I think makes a lot of sense as they talk about their game, that the game that they're making and all this other stuff. And then they're like, now here's this breach mode and it's it's like in VR, but like everything is like super polygonal fucked up, looking like deliberately low poly low rez. Does it actually look like VR? The ms it's like old conception of VR, old conception of VR that like when you when you take it, when you take what they just finished had finished saying about like their universe and technology catching up at face value VR. If you if you were a character living in the world of DSX and you were going into VR to steal money from banks, that VR would look way better than this. So it's really it's it's it clashed for me in a way that kind of doesn't matter. Maybe ultimately, maybe the premise is that in the DSX world, the video game industry did not catch up in the way that it did in real life. Maybe, but anyway that that that's that's a dumb, minor gripe about it. The thing I think it the mode seems okay, it's not. It didn't seem like something that I was want to really dive into compared to actually playing through the story in the campaign and doing all the stuff that that looks good. Yes, that looks like a d SX sequel. Adam Jensen doing his thing, and they keep talking about this mechanical apartheid thing, which I think is still a really shitty way to market that game. But oh yes it is. But you know, did they show the single player? Yeah, Okay, I think there's some footage out there. I think they put out a big yeah they they they the demo that I saw like back in Santa Monica is this is the thing they just put out this week, so so that stuff's all out there, and then they're putting out a benchmark tool some time before the game comes out to so people can test out if they can run it or not, and that will come with a that will come with a VR enabled thing that is just you being able to walk around some environments from the game. That sounds fun. I want to do that. I did it. It didn't seem that great. You know, you can't do anything there. It's just like walk around this thing, like, all right, this is certainly a level you built for your video game. Yeah, but you know, there's not a lot of VR was getting made with that kind of fidelity. Can you expensive assets like that? You're just just getting to walk around it? Can you do the old VR in that VR? No? Oh man, that's kind of VR. Want Yeah, I want like reboot VR, yeah totally, then breach VR then breach mode is well, no, that you can't actually play that in legit VR. Yeah. So I asked specifically because it just seemed like such a weird thing, and they're like, oh, and you can walk around the advice like five of these environments and VR, Like, well, okay, okay, can is this you saying without saying that the final game will support VR? And they're like, no, absolutely not, Like the game will not be a VR game, Like all right, uh so that seems like a strange thing. It feels like testing the waters more than anything else. Yeah, they showed Final Fantasy fifteen off, which you know, I think that game, you know, good looking, looks better every time they show it, and and like that's a fascinating game for them because they're they're pretty open with the idea of like, we need to make a game that appeals worldwide, and we're trying to make a game like like they're they're pretty naked about like trying to make a game that can appeal to like a larger Western audience, right, And normally I'd be like, man, they're really fucking up their vision for this thing, But I actually think it looks kind of looks kind of cool as someone who could not give a fuck about a Final Fantasy anymore, right, Yeah, I mean look at this and go like, maybe maybe fans that that might not take too well to them. Sure, uh So, at the same time, like I could not care less about anything in Final Fantasy and the idea period. Yeah, and the idea that of a road trip JRPG. That sounds kind of weird to me. Yeah, Like I don't feel like Final Fantasy has really had much of an identity for the last eight ten years anyway. Yeah, it's like there was and then there was another thing, and there's there's a vaguely consistent aesthetic between them, and that's kind of it. There's sid Yeah, that's about it. So whatever. Yeah, they're all standalone. But I mean, yeah, anyway, I think that looks interesting. If nothing else, Dragon Quest Builders was there there, they were showing that off before they had confirmed it was coming here is it? Is it just Dragon Quest plus Martin? Kind of Uh, it seems great. It seems very charming like that. You kind of So I played the from the very beginning of the game, and you know, they translated into English at least that part of it, and yeah, you're starting a whole you dig your way out of it and kind of go forth. Like the premise is that you're the only character, You're the only person in the universe who understands how to make things out of other things. That is something that has been robbed from other the other people a story like it's not just sandbox. Yeah, Like you're talking to your ghost father who is telling you how to save the world by building things. The concept of invention is gone. The concept of invention, the concept of taking a thing and another thing and putting it together to make something else. Secrets of three wood and two Stone make a Workfitch. Yeah, all that lost of time and then you find the stick in the rock and then suddenly everything's okay. That's kind of an amazing premise. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you find I did, Yeah, yeah, I found the bat the bats and ship too. Okay, it sounds great. You and they dropped materials that you will need. You know. What's the combat like craft torches? It's uh, it's you know, like the game's kind of top down. You can rotate the camera more or less however you want, uh, and you just kind of run up and swing your sort of it's all yeah, And it just seemed really charming. Like I encountered the first character and she was bewildered as I as I would say things like I'm gonna go build this thing, and she's like build what do you mean? Uh? So yeah, I don't know. I all right, that sounds awesome. There was a lot of positivity around that game after it's Japanese release, and I totally get wild. It seems cool. Have they been sort of tongue in cheeky with that franchise? I don't know that franchise for I didn't seems sort of like Mark and Luigie. It's been up and down, always jumped, that's it's always lighthearted. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but there's just this is maybe a little more knowing and a little more knowing, like like you know, hey, we have to justify the mechanics of this thing, we have to give this thing a premise, and and they're doing it in that in that very Okay, yes it was cool that way, but but I don't think a lot of the other games get too. They're not super self aware far down that road, Like the last couple have been Dynasty Warriors games like made made by those people, right, Omega Forrest made made those, So there hasn't really been a When was the last proper Dragon Quest? It was at ten I think so, and that was on what three? I think? So that's that sounds right anyway? Uh, yeah, they had some racing games with the publishing with Milestone, uh, and a handful of other things there, like you know, but it was like Kingdom Hearts and I was like, okay, I'm still not going to I'm still okay on the Kingdom Hearts. That series is yeah, way too dense for me. But I like the combat in the more recent ones. But isn't that the thing with Final Fantasy fifteen is that it seems like it's kind of pulling for with from some of the Kingdom Art stuff. Yeah, yeah, I guess I could see that. Yeah. So that was Square. That was the first event, and then the next day was just day after day of single games. All right, let's run down the list. Lawbreakers, Yeah, that's Boss Keys game. That's Cliff Pazynski at all, from one Clifford b. Yeah, and Lawbreakers seems all right. Uh, it's a team based shooter. They've tried to come up with their own spins on shooter modes. Uh. So they showed a mode that is like domination, and they're like, there are three control points on the map, but once you capture one, it is locked. So basically all once all three points are captured, the points go into onto the scoreboard, and the first team to eleven or thirteen or you know whatever ended up being the cash in after the three and then it's three new ones. Yeah, okay, it's the same three points. So they have like intermissions between the time where it's like once they're locked, like I didn't know, the action does not stop, so it's not like rounds. Uh, like they lock and then it's like okay, in thirty seconds they will they will unlock again. So is there anything to stop people from just camping each point? You are murdering each other as to create the respawn time that prevents them from home. So you're trying to time your murder. Yeah, exactly, kind of timed murder. And that games so that game does stuff with gravity basically where there the characters have abilities like an Overwatch. It's class based, but there were only four characters like four classes in the game. It's symmetrical across the two sides, so there are like different characters, but they have the exact same abilities between the Law and the Breakers. And so the center of the map we were in was basically like there was no gravity there, so you could kind of float around there. You see the bubble of low gravity. Once you enter into it, you can kind of you know, make your way up and down and kind of float around like the specialists. Anything that's like the specialists sign way into it was one of the points in the gravity bubble. Okay, yeah, uh yeah, so like the center point in that mode wasn't was in the coubble. Yeah. And then the other mode was like a one flag CTF. But it's a battery, so you have to get the battery back to your base to charge it up. And then once it hits one hundred percent and it maintains its charge. So someone steals it when it's at eighty percent, gets it to their base, they're that much closer to winnings. So it's like a control point with like a percentage of tick step but then that doesn't go down. Yeah, pretty good, okay uh and so that yeah, those are the two modes they showed. Uh, they showed a couple of maps. It's got a fidelity to it that I think is is fine. It looks nice. Uh. The one like mechanical mechanically interesting thing I think it has is that you can shoot behind you, So if you hit control, you just fucking take your gun and put it behind your back and start pulling the trigger, which I admit like talking to them about as like, you know, you're probably not going to get a lot of kills with that, but when you do, be awesome first person. Yes, Also, the that has a use when you're in low gravity because when you shoot behind you, you will propel yourself forward. So there's kind of a movement aspect to its gun repellent. They've got ideas, yes they have, they have some ideas that are making that thing, uh stand out a little bit. But but at the same time, like you know, coming away from that, you know, this was we saw it in the in the point between the Overwatch Open Beta and the release of Overwatch. So having coming off of playing a fair amount of like Overwatch and as well Doom as well, like there was, I had this feeling of like, this is perfectly acceptable. I don't know that it is something that is going to stand out when compared to a lot of the games that are you know, competitively up against it or whatever. You know, what kind of aesthetic are they going for? Is it? Is it cartoony, It's a lot of it's very cursy, it's very sweary bullet storm. It's a lot of no, no, not not in that kind of shitty way, but it's a lot of just like motherfucker like like that type of stuff gears more than that. What does it look like though? Is it it's a realistic aesthetic. It's it's it's not like gritty or anything like that. But you know, so the Edge of five, but it's not sup Yeah. Yeah, okay, it's not like super cartoony or anything like that, but you know it is this kind of fantastical class based thing of you know, these characters with different powers and stuff like that. Got it. Then from there we went to see Namco, which on my schedule said Tech and seven. Yeah. I was pretty excited to finally see Tech and seven. And then we walked in and it was a game called Tech and Sevenpolis. Yes, yes, Necropolis is not Tech and seven. I've got some Necropolis assets in my inbox. Uh, Necropolis is not Tech and seven. No, it's pretty so that was not that it packs very disappointing. Yeah, Necropolis it's been in development for a while. Yeah, it looks like so you saw it on a PC, right, I believe so. Yeah, so I saw it on PS four and the frame rate was you know whatever, it's a work in progress, so that's it's a procedural rogue lie kind of thing with which dark souls ish sort of stamming a meter and swing times and stuff on the weapons. Kind of cool like subdued like Chris Tuney. Yeah, aesthetic too. It looks good. Is it the bit trip people? No? Well, why who am I thinking of that? I can't remember who. It's a studio to Seattle. I feel like I feel like they've made something else before, though it might be wrong. Yeah, anyway, it seemed okay. You know, it's run based, so you're kind of you know, you're making your runs, you're fighting skeletons, you're picking up swords from their courses and and doing that sort of stuff like it. It seemed all right, but the build was was pretty rough like frame yeah yeah yeah. Even yeah PC version that I saw like a year or two ago that was running pretty rough. Yeah. It's polical, yes, yeah, yeah, behind the back you know, camera control of that type of stuff. Sure, it's it's that game. It seemed okay, Yeah, I'm curious to try that. It was It was absolutely not teching. Did they all for any sort of explanation? I had the absence of Tech. I had a conversation about the lack of techn and my understanding is that we will see techn during E three. Okay, playable? Yeah, I think I will be able to play it. I don't know what the I have talked some people coming with the techn is all over that show, Okay, I am I am told that techn will be playable on the show floor. That game has been playable in several differents we have It's always been arcade versions, right right, yeah, so that's you know, this will be the first time it'll be running on consoles. I was. I was told it will be widely available at the show. All right, Okay, I'm extremely ready for some damn Tech. I want to play the Tech. Yeah, yes, I think I'm ready to play a tech and game. When did six come out? Like they did Tech Tournament too, But it feels like it's been forever since a numbered techn Yeah techleven. Yeah, it's it's been a while. Uh. From there went to Harmonics, who was just showing Harmonics Music VR, which is like a mini game collection or it's it's a collection of miniature activities. I wouldn't even say any game in a lot of cases here that will sink to music. It'll come with some music, but it's really based on you providing your own m P three's and stuff like that too. It's it's a set of interactive visualizers that's like a winamp. Yeah, yeah, okay, I'm kind of so some of it. You can see a little bit of Fantasia in it. So there's one that's like a you know, like you're kind of sitting on a beach and if you look at the sun for a couple of seconds, it will kind of activate and something will happen, or you know, you'll see these kind of interactive areas that if you look at them for a little bit, they'll pop and do something for a while. You're supposed to look at the sun in real now you are thanks to Harmonic's music. Fr thank you. There was another one that was tilt brush, but the things you were painting would kind of pulsate to the music. Uh, there were there there were some brushes that would pulsate more than others, so you kind of, you know, just listen to music and paint the thing. There is I that thing seems fine, but at the same time it left me wondering about PlayStation VR a little bit. And also it doesn't seem like what I would want out of a painting thing like the tilt brush one that they had in there, especially because I just decided I was gonna see, I was just gonna paint. I was just gonna go nuts. So I I was, you know, you're standing up to move controllers, and I just started moving one in a circle as fast as I can because I just want to paint this big tube. And I was moving faster than the PlayStation camera and move controller could track. Okay, so that made it weird. Uh. And you know these are not final products, so I don't know, but but that was a bummer. I was just like I was moving, you know, a fast clip. Uh. Did you try a similar thing when you did a tilt brush with the vibe and it was fine with that? Uh tilt the Vibe controller's track better, Yeah, which which would make sense, you know, more capable than the move Uh. Yeah, I mean there's you know, the reasons are not impossible to discern. But the larger thing is I did that for a while and then painted some more and then reached a point where it was like, all right, you have painted all you can paint. You've filled up filled up memory. Yeah, basically there was a pretty low budget for what you could do, and so I had the delete stuff to do more painting, which sounds like a bummer. Was a bummer. Yeah. There's another one that's like they have all these crazy characters that will dance and you can kind of basically record the dance moves, so you you grab their their joints with the move controllers like their arm, their hips or whatever, and then it'll record in a loop you doing stuff, so you can kind of make different dances for them to do. That one was fun, and then there was one that was just you traveling through a fucking crazy kaleidoscope tube while the music plays. Uh. And yeah, I think they've got like some more in it that they didn't show, but yeah, I don't know. Like it's one of those things that I was like, man, this seems very rudimentary, but then you step back and remember, like, oh, the vast majority of people have done zero things in VR, so those sorts of things are still valid at the right price. Uh, And it seemed like a good introduction to VR, so the questions will it be at that right price when yet around? Yeah, yeah, that's that's the that's definitely the question. But it seemed neat for what it was. Uh. Then we saw DONNIV War three, which was a short presentation, uh, followed by me not telling you about playing the game. Ever for whatever reason, then and Austin are going to see that game? Yes, they show here. So yeah, the demo that they showed didn't seem like it was a real mission from the game, or it seemed like it was very much like, hey, here's you know here, here's some real time strategy game stuff of click on these units and there are some hero units with abilities and stuff. So it was not a great presentation. Like I didn't feel like I came away from it knowing too much about that game. When I when I book the appointment, they were making a big deal out of base building being back right. I don't know if because we was in one, but it was not in two. It was very much like your team of four goes do this mission, so this is more about you deploying units and you know, like that sort of stuff calling in you know, dropping marines into combat. And stuff like that. It looked nice. Space Marines, yes, space space Marines. Okay, it looked nice and it certainly has some potential. H Then there was a bunch of independent games, so I got to see, gosh, a little bit of Headlander. I'm excited for that, which is ridiculous. Yeah, double fine. Yeah, that's that's the Double Fine game. That Adult Swim is his publishing. It's directed by the guy who directed Stacking. You can see a little bit of stacking in the same love stacking because it's you are you are just ahead in a jar. Basically you're an astronaut head and you can you know, land on other bodies to take their abilities, and it is literally just possessing people to get their abilities. Yeah, it's pretty much what okay, you know in a two D metroid is kind of perspective of that sound Metroid Venia. Perhaps there's an element of like key cards and you know, getting around obstacles by you know, launching off of this body and you know doing other stuff. You ever just a head bouncing around. Yeah, you are frequently ahead just bouncing around with the field. Can yea you attach yourself you rockets rockets, so you are as rockets fly around, Okay, as just ahead. Cool, that's a good it's a good dumb idea. Yeah, that that seems fun. Uh strafe was there? Okay? Which is you know kind of going for this mid nineties aesthetic is procedurally generated uh you know, procedurally generated rogue like like kind of thing where you are, you know, upgrading weapons along the way and and finding different stuff as you are shooting your way through this stuff just very very fast, any rocket jumpy, I believe so, but you might not want to. You know, it's pretty damaging. But you know there are elements in that game where like as you murder things, the blood just splatters everywhere. So it's like in lou having a map, you would just have this trail of carnage that you said, I, oh, well I've clearly I've been here. And there's kind of a weird element of strategy of like sometimes you'll find enemies that will spit acid all over the floor, so you need to kill them quickly. But if you don't, you can kill other enemies to spill their blood where the acid is to cover the acid so you can safely jump in the Yeah, that is exactly that's science. All right. Yeah, that game seems really cool. Okay. I am glad to hear that, because I have been looking at it going like, okay, this is either gonna be really good or they are trying too hard. Yeah. No, that's the there's a The tutorial has some fucking fantastic FMV in it. Uh, the tutorial is fantastic. That's really encouraging. That game seems very nice. From from top to bottom. Pire was there, super Giant was there? Just going the build a pire that was at Pack. We've already talked about that. Everything was there from the David O'Reilly They yeah, Maker of Mountain. Yes, you can be everything. Okay, is it a game? You could be a camel experience, you can be a building. You could be a traffic light. Does the building have controls? You could be a tree? Yeah? What are the controls? You move around? Oh okay, there's everything just move Yeah. But also everything moves crazy. So when you are camel, it doesn't move its legs, it just rolls forward. Yeah all right, okay, all right, So it's like you kind of controls that are like go bigger or go smaller, so you can kind of like go up, and that's how you eventually be like I'm a planet now. It's like a Katamari thing sort of. But you're not really rolling things up right. You're kind of looking around at other things that you can possess and then moving to that object. Scribble knots No, Yeah, you're not, like you know, you're not. You're not spawning these things, Okay, You're finding them and possessing them and then going to a different planet and going like this is an ice world? What's here for me to possess? Uh? And there's a little bit of there's the dance buttons. You can kind of spawn other like typed creatures or buildings or whatever and then kind of make things dance and I fucking I don't know, man, it was really neat. It's as weird as hell, but like my kind of weird, like I don't know, experientially, that could be really cool if there's If the variety is actually good and they give you enough different scenarios to play around with, Yeah, does it feel like a game or just something to suck around with? It feels like something to suck around with, But I don't know if it reveals itself to be more than that at some point or not. But but even at that base level, it was interesting. It was fun to fuck with in like almost like a ho hokum kind of way. Sure, but maybe a little less directed, I guess. Yeah, it seemed neat And then yeah, the following day was a SIEVE six events, but I ended up my flight conflicted with that. So, knowing that we were going to send people to c SIVE at the show, I had not CSIV. Everything I've heard about SIV six going into the show h has me pretty excited about that game. You would say that, well I would, but also, you know, I mean there are there are things I am hoping they are going to fix, like AI stuff that they have not talked too much at length yet, but they start of saying the right things. Yeah, So that that's it. That's all I saw. Usually there are you know, and it's it's been a mix of things and during the pre show phase over the years, it's the nature of that has definitely changed. Like you know that there are some people that always go like, oh, man, would you think of Microsoft stuff? Like trying to like like as if I'm going to answer that question if I did, But like the first party's rarely show if Sony used to occasionally show stuff. I saw somebody the other day saying, like you probably had seen everything from the press conferences at E three. You almost never see anything. That stuff is incredibly buttoned up with that stuff, especially now. Yeah, yeah, so so, you know, but in the past, like Ubisoft has shown stuff, Warner has shown stuff, none of them were there. You know that Microsoft showed that top down Halo Shooter once the tablet game Ye Spartan Assault was there. They showed that like a couple of days before they announced it one year and that's the closest Microsoft has ever come to, you know, showing anything off you know, in during this week prior to two three, when Sony would do stuff, you know, it was like largely focused on some of the independent games that were coming to their platform, and not necessarily like the big announcements from them, but that they did have like Drive Club there before that came out and the order. I played the order at that prior to release, but sign of the times. But yeah, generally speaking, there was there was not a lot here, uh And I came out of it going like, man, okay, does that mean that a bunch of people are holding things for the show or is something else going on? And I'm you know, I think that's that's I We have booked appointments and looked at you know, what other companies are kind of showing at the show and stuff. It just doesn't seem like there's a ton of stuff in terms of traditional ass video games. If I think, if you like VR stuff, this is going to be a big show for you. That's my guests. You know, the PlayStation VR comes out in October. Yeah, this is their chance to make a case totally. So so I think Sony is I expect Sony will We'll put a large chunk of VR stuff into their press conference and so on. Well, we are going to go through all that stuff, go through the various major companies, yeah, and say what we think is going to happen. Uh, let's predict. So let's uh, let's kind of go through the you know, we know which companies have major press conferences, right, so let's kind of go through those in order first and get those out of the way, and then we'll kind of look at the other major exhibitors at the show and see what we know and what we think okay about each of those. Yeah, so E's kicking stuff off at one pm on Sunday. You know, granted all of this has happened at the point, right, so I hear this, but yeah, this is our chance to say what we know and make some wild predictions here, Uh, skate four? What do we want to put it over under? That was that was my guess if they you know that they would only get out on Twitter and shoot it down if they were secretly really working on it, right right? That's yeah, yeah, you know I love that line of thinking. But as much as I want to believe that the hashtag movement will wild this thing into existence, I don't stay it in the race. There's always the chance the super delegates will flip at the last minute's Skate four we'll get made. I'm trying to think if they've really they haven't. I mean Battlefield obviously, right, Battlefield one time, Fall two Sports. You know they've they've come out and put out press releases in recent days for FIFA and NHL Madden. They announced the new commentary team and that stuff that they're doing for that Madden. Yes, who is it? It's it's a couple Madden and John Madden doing an accent. It is a couple of unknowns who are like one is on Fox Sports, the the one. I'm not sure where he came from, but basically they decided they wanted people they could get for a couple of months to come in and do a lot of commentary, as opposed to Phil Sims showing up for a week and that's it. Okay, the fuck does Phil Sim's doing the off season that he couldn't do that? It's probably best we don't ask that question because the answers would disturb and alarm. You know, he's got a lot of people to choke to death. We love our our friends at CBS Sports anyway. Yeah, so, so EA is a as usual as a tight hour and they always devote an alarming amount of that hour to sports and Sims add ons at Star Wars and mobile games and the Old Republic. How much time until Battlefront? Uh? How many? How many months left till eleven million minutes? Uh? Yeah, so I think they've got some Battlefront DLC to talk. Yeah, well they I mean that Earrings report said something big from Battlefront next year or so, who knows, wonder he's gonna be tied, like could they announce the new battle front at this I mean it could be like Rogue one next years. They have already said, you know in earnings calls that they have a new battlefront for next year. So there's not much to announce in terms. Well, I mean they could say exactly what it is, sure, but I would think if they if they were gonna, if they were gonna show Star Wars stuff, I think they would show the story based stuff that you know, Visceral or you know whatever whatever. But they also said that's a twenty eighteen games. Yeah, you're right, definitely right, and the respond possibly be far It sounds like they are just hiring for that one, right, yeah, so may maybe that stuff's not in a position to really show. But also Mass Effect has to be part of that, like it's coming out before another E three, right, so this is their last E three to show the new mass fact that is in fact going to take place, Like if that if that game is going to actually come out before E three, well as of right now there, so yeah, it will be out. In the Earnings they positioned it, they gave it a window. I think, so Q one next year, right, so see I feel like that's got to be the big thing, if there's going to be a big new thing there. Yeah. Yeah. We were also talking in the car about the Criterion thing that they showed a couple of years ago. It was like the we're experimenting with helicopters and shit, I don't know. So apparently that was at GDC this year. Oh I saw a cop of people mentioned that, So maybe that thing is further along than we think. Maybe that haven't is skate four all these vehicles and then they said skateboards. Yeah, that's the right answer. Yeah, Uh, that's uh. That unnamed but new BioWare IP has been in the hopper for quite a while, right, been like two years since they announced that and showed a picture of a trailer in a desert. Maybe that's gonna get announced, Yeah, I mean yeah, they they've they've got studios that are kind of unaccounted for right now, so you know, they've they've probably have some projects to talk about, but yeah, I can't. I'm having a hard time pinning anything down. They've already said that no Need for Speed will happen this year, so Ghost Games is kind of working on the next Need for Speed or the next car aim from them, probably almost certainly the next name for you that came out next time. No, no, this is the next next bargain. Uh no, NBA this year. Yeah, but but NBA next year, rightly next year. But I don't think that'll be in their presentation in a significant way. I'm guessing if they're delaying that thing to early next year, like that's not that's not gonna be a big factor. Sure you're rebooting it again or is it live? I think they're just calling it NBA live like without a year, okay, but who knows what it'll be about. It is untethered by time. Yeah, it's going to become detached from time. Yeah, yeah, I don't know. Eas he is kind of in a weird spot or EA has changed their business a lot, and now they are they are weirder and like harder to predict because you there's a lot of stuff they certainly could be doing. What if they'll have golf Rory McElroy two two times the battleships. You think get rid of Roy McElroy, like it's it's you don't you don't go back to the well just that first one was really bad. Yeah, yeah, I don't know, Golf Masters whatever, Golf Golf Masters, yeah there, I mean dangerous Golf has already roped in the superior McElroy. So like at this point that robot golf that has right, Sorry, yes, my bad. So many golf games golf showdown this fall, that's true. Yeah, Like titan Fall and Battlefield clearly are going to be the big Like Peter Morrow's out there on Twitter saying like we got a big sixty four player demonstration coming at the DA Player or whatever, like and and titan Fall. They are gonna announce a new mech at some point during the show I think is separate from their press conference they said anything about that having a full campaign titan Fall two, they haven't. Well, I don't know. I think that's the plan, the indicatory. I would love a campaign trailer or something. They probably need something more than what they have. I like titan Fall, but I would love a single player campaign for the second one. The radio play thing didn't really do it, or something more, you know, if it's not necessarily a single player campaign, like some something more constructed, something more, something meatier than just like fighting bots. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and better progression. It seems kind of limited the first time. Oh yeah, just not enough gear. It's not enough stuff to not not enough options. So you know, if the stuff that leaked out about, like grappling hooks and stuff like that, like that, you know, opens up a lot of movement options and stuff like that, that that could be really nice. But higher level metagame stuff might be nice, like some kind of faction persistent warfare taking planets back and forth and stuff might be cool. Yeah, that'd be neat, but I think that'll be the big stuff at the A yeah, is my guess. Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. Something crazy out of left field that we don't know about Bethesda is that evening it is? And I don't we have a leaked notion? Yeah, they recorded last week's podcast two days ago. Yeah, and I don't think we don't know anything new since then other than that leaked lineup that got out there. You want to just quickly run that down. Supposedly New Wolfenstein, New Evil within uh Sky remaster, Dishonored Too, which is potentially Pray maybe a like fully reworked Pray Too no way, Yeah, which yeah, fully reworked, meaning like it's a different game at this point. That maybe is it maybe just pulling from some of the elements of that demo, but it could it would be something totally different. Yeah, that's like the first part of that up until Pray Too, sound really really plausible. Yeah, honestly, they I'm you know, I'm sure that I assume they own all the work for the human Head dudes, so they could be building off of that. Yeah, yeah, you're right, don't get me wrong. I would love to see whatever they have for Prey Too, right, Yeah, and then mixed in there presumably more fall Out, more Doom content, yeah, DEALC stuff for that. Yeah, but if that's stuff seems pretty well known. Yeah, I wouldn't I said. I'll say it again. I would rather see Wet two than I Pray Too. I mean that Pray To demo's amazing. Great. That was like five years ago. Man, that looked cool. I really like to pray So, yeah, I want to see another one. I would Doom be anything about single player DLC or they sold a season past that I think was on the on the basis of other being more multiplayers submitted to a bunch of multiplayer content. I would love to see a single player out on but I don't know. Yeah, see, yeah, I would. I want to see them make a sequel to Doom Doom if we got both. Yeah, yeah, that'd be yeah, that'd be great. But we're not thinking there will be any big surprises beyond what possibly has leaked here. People seem confident enough in those reports that that's there was a Skyrim definitive edition thing that just popped up on a retailer really after after those other reports. I mean, you know, they've said last year that they poured Skyrim to the Xbox One as a technical right, right, you know, just part of the process of getting up to speed on those consoles, and you have to expect that this will be them rolling out the console mod stuff into Skyrim. Uh yeah, that stuff seems like it's been successful with Fall at four. I just him, like, do moral wind I know that, I know that that point I'm making away way more word It's like, I get, I get why you don't do moral wind. That's not moral. It's not the mostly free money that this is. Yeah yeah, but dude, yeah, well yes, although monkeying with moral winds seems like a real dangerous That sounds like a video series, our regular video series monkeying with moral win. But I mean like it's, you know, this fifteen year old game, like like you want to punch those fucking giant birds. Do they go in there and rip out systems and streamline it in such a way that the now like mass fucking audience for Skyrim can deal with it. You are making the morol wind story content and world with the with the consoltification uh and and streamlined gameplay the modern That's that seems like it would greatly anger a vocal minority of people. That's fine. They whether they probably don't fall out, They probably okay there, So yeah, I don't know, a lot of people got a lot of fun feelings about more Wind. Uh yeah, But anyway, I don't know that would be more interesting. I think I don't know. They'll probably have some more elder Scrolls online stuff to talk about. I think they've talked about like Fallout Shelter updates or something. Maybe not yeah, or maybe there will be another mobile game that we'll launch at the end of the press conference. But there are silently millions of people playing. Yeah, I bet it's still yeah. It did. It did well when it came out. My brother is one of them. Yeah, constantly would get hit this podcast. Liked it until I didn't. I enjoyed it a lot for two or three weeks, and then just like hit a Wall, I like it as a thing. I was occasionally looking at during E three, and then as soon as I got home from ME three and had real time to look at it, I was like, oh this is terrible. Yeah. Well it had no end game like you Hit a Wall, where it was just like now what. It also had some weird bugs and yeah, and there were some really unwieldy interface things. But man like the the the announced to hey you can go download it of about ten minutes. Was that had a great time, great time to be alive. Yeah, that's neat. It was a good stuff. So yeah, that's you know, we think we know what's gonna happen at Bethesda. We may be proved wrong. I hope, so, I mean I always hope we're wrong. You know, like I want curveballs, I want crazy shit, you know. Yeah, there's nothing, nothing wrong with the stuff that that they've leaked, you know, like that all sounds totally feasible and plausible, and some of those games will certainly be good. I'm sure something super surprising. But I would love to see something real crazy too, an Oblivion remaster. No, No, that'd be fun. That would be neat too. Yeah, it would weirdly be more into that, I think than a sky like I mean, that's that was my first Eltrit scrolls. Yeah, I have a sneaking suspicion that Oblivion holds up probably worse than more. Well, I'm sure it does. I'm sure it does. Do you think you're establishing an annual press conference now? Oh yeah, it was a one off last year so much, I think as they have stuff. I thought last year was there there was the first I guess it was, yeah, yeah, okay, all right, I mean they are a major publisher. Yeah, I would say yeah, but they always have. But the thing with them was like they never had that like large diversity of games to show. Yeah, up until it's only you know, it's only been six seven years since Bethesda was a publisher of games that they didn't also make, you know, yeah, or that you know or that like weren't just the Key franchise. They just used to put out the Bethesda Game Studios games like that was it? So? Yeah, and maybe we'll see battle Cry a revamped, tooled, rebuilt battle Cry or maybe almost put money on battle Cry not getting mentioned at this thing. If it doesn't, I feel like, if it doesn't get mentioned here at all, it's probably not happening, right, I mean, maybe did it never go like open beta? Like no, oh really now that they have, like if you go to their website, their last update was shortly after the three last year. I mean they showed it last year and it did not get a good response. I played it. Maybe it did not seem particularly but just even just even like kind of the social media buzz when that thing was on was like, all right, let's move on next game. And they've only got an hour or two. And if they've got like six games sure from this week, then they've got a lot to pack in. Brad. Remember when you and I went to Vegas? Yeah, yeah, god, yeah, that was a long time. I killed that guy. Yeah, and we saw rage, yeah, rage, and there was we drove a dune buggy. We drove dune But that was sweet. You took it. You took one of the expensive cameras in that dune buggy. I can't believe the man. Yeah, that was that was brave. There was some other like dark looking game that they showed that came out and did the Demon's Forget Hunted. Yes, it was, it was. It was a it was a fantasy Gears of War type game. I have zero recollection of that even existing. That's a real game. It kind of came and went. But yeah, that was like kind of the beginning of the thousand of becoming like a you know, they're really doing it as a publisher. Uh say, they've built on that, I would say so too. All Right, that brings us to Monday morning, which is hell yeah, probably the biggest wild card of any three company at this point, which is Microsoft. Yeah, they've they've got it seems like that they would probably have a lot of stuff in the works and we don't know what the will say and what they'll hold. Yeah, and we don't know. Yeah, they've got a ton of about how aggressive, Like I feel like they need to be aggressive here and and try to try to get some momentum going. Yeah, I just don't. It just doesn't seem like they have much. I mean, you know, it's god, it's been what over a year since they stopped reporting Xbox One sales figures. Yeah, so you think we would it take for you guys to get them, you know, back in the race. I mean, you know, the elephant the room is those leaks from like a month the Scorpio scoring Like, like, if they more powerful console that will go beyond you know, Sony's upgraded console, then that's an exciting box. I mean it is. But I also feel like they have to be able to spell out at least a little bit like what they plan to do with that box, Like even if they're not going to show games on the floor for that thing, because it's just not going to be at that point, I don't think they'll talk about I just don't think they'll talk about the Scorpio specific stuff in any kind of great detail here. It would just be nice to know, like who was developing stuff with that in mind coming down the pipes, like like, well, who do you have on tap to build stuff for that thing? But if if everything works with that thing to a certain degree, then it just becomes a like, well, everything's going to take advantage of it by the time it comes out, you know. I'm just saying, I like, if you want to implant positive impressions right out of the gate, like saying like, you know, these are games we've got coming down the pipes in this diver being you know, Scorpio ready. Yeah, but I think, you know, if you look at the too fasted, the two pronged nature of that leak of there being a redesigned base level Xbox one and then you know the upgraded box code names Scorpio coming next year sometime, I think that they would probably, yeah, they would probably focus on the redesigned, cheaper Xbox. So this is probably a good time for them to announce that, start talking about a price cut for the existing inventory as they prepare for that redesigned, streamlined box to get on shelves and really focus on that. Yeah, the story I think the initial Scorpio leaks said they didn't plan to announce the more powerful thing at E three this year until the leaks happened. Right now, Maybe maybe that's the rope a dope, right, No, I don't know, you know, you could make a case for I think it depends on like how how dire things are for them. If they're not very dire, then they don't need to say that sort of stuff and they can kind of just focus on software. We're at a point in the normal cycle where this should be a very software heavy show and getting into the natural progressions of like, hey, here's a cheaper version of our existing box. That would be a very sensible show for them. But at the same time, like, I think that I think that they you know that, I think their software that they've been putting out has not been doing it for them. Uh, you know, Quantum Break certainly not. And you know, just the the stalwarts of the Xbox brand I think have not been bringing it in, have not been been bringing people in the way that they did in the past. Plus, they just have a lot of stuff on the books right now, but it has been announced and not shown recently. Crackdown, scale Bound, Yeah, we don't know what's up with either of those games, because they did not book meetings for us with those and Scaledown did get definitely pushed a twenty seven. Yeah, So I tried to ask them about what was up with those games and was summarily ignored. Yeah, Crackdown. I talked to someone who was in marketing who was on Crackdown at the Spring showcase and just got the answer like, well, we're focusing on stuff that's more near term here, that's why it's not here. Yeah, which HaLow Wars, that's Halo Wars definitely better the stuff, the stuff we have meetings for that we definitely see at the show, or Halo Wars too, recorps see if Thieves. I'm super fucking excited about hire Pirate game, which nice they're saying is kind of like Destiny Destiny. Yes, yeah, it's like it's like a it's like a multiplayer loot game, all right, but made by Rare with pirate side, real loot. It gonna be interesting. That sounds cool. All loot, all loot. And then for as the Horizon, it has been strongly suggested that yeah, there was a new forts A game at the show, which you would think is Horizon three. It's gotta be. I think if it's I have to imagine if it's somehow not Horizon three. It is just another forts A game from the Horizon team that they have rebranded for some weird reason. But but Horizon has done Horizon three. Yeah, and then Microsoft also booked a meeting with US for Tacoma. That's weird. Well, Steve Gayner was on there for Prescottifer stage. Was it last year or two years ago. I think it was last year. I think it was last year because they hadn't really shown much of Tacoma prior to that. Yeah, but right as a yeah, as a as a console partner, they seem to be getting that pretty big and yeah, talking up some something new about that game. I don't know what it is. Yeah, we'll see VR. That's that was my first take home Cinematic Universe. If it was if they if they go all out with announcing the new box that then would be presumably powerful, powerful enough to do VR stuff, then maybe the game seems like a great candidate for that because it's first person and you're on a space station and there's weird gravity shit where the floor becomes the ceiling and stuff worked for a drift. Well, it seems like there might be a little more going on in this one than a drift tad. Yeah, there were some weird annotations around the meeting booking for this suggesting there was something new with it. But I could be reading way too much into that hollow lens that would be something. I don't know that we'll see any hollow lens. I think I really want like a hollow lens right now. Is something that they're going to pitch at enterprise like, yeah, it's not it's not a gag things like such a weirdly unfocused product right now. Yeah that I if they do show it, it's not in the context of now it's coming and now it's going to be a game thing. It'll be like, hey, we still have this thing, and here's a game you could theoretically use on it, but it's not for that. Also, that that is an AAR device, like how it works with a full screen video game. I couldn't say, yeah, connect support you could put you could play a great laser tag game. If everyone was winking hall under sure, Yeah like that that would be there's some neat stuff you could do with that. Yeah, let's bring back laser Tag. Yeah. It never left with or without r let's just got it's true. Yeah, that's fair enough. So beyond that, I mean Battle Toads, there was that Dead Rising league. Yeah, that stuff is leaked. I mean, yeah, there be attached to Microsoft four probably is going to be at that we're going around. We talked about some of those leagues on the last week's show. On the indie side, I mean they're they're probably gonna show something for Cuphead. They just but I don't think they're They're not They're they're not there. But like I just ran a Cuphed trailer today that I suspect is probably most of what we'll see from and they'll probably just have like a station on the floor. No, I don't think they are. That's what I'm I really where I saw they were skipping you three so entire look on the game. It was playable last year, but if you remember, like it was only boss fights that well, so that's what it was. Basically came to light that that's what the game was. Yeah, and they said they fleshed it out. The trailer that Ijan has today is not a boss fight deliberately the other part of the games and it seems like there was enough feedback from people going like there, I which there was more than boss fights that they went and more than boss fights and then below has got to be coming down the pipes here at some point, I hope. So yeah, yeah, it's coming out this summer, Okay, I believe that is what they said, so it'll probably be at their booth. Yeah, was the game from the limbo people at the Microsoft play did last year. Yes, snow Inside is the name of that. Uh, yeah, that'll be there, Okay, I have a preview code for that. Okay, I don't even know what it is. We need to we need to cash that in and see what that is. It's it's like a build of part of the game, okay, which is embargoed until now. That is the thing I basically sembargo for. That is like the minute that their press conference ends, So you could probably bet that they're going to show like a gameplay demo from that. I want that that that looked like limbo, Yeah, all right, any other big stuff we're thinking could make some kind of I mean Gears for Yeah, that's kind of very I thought it was a little well maybe it's just you know, it's far enough along that it'll just be out on the floor and playable. But when you look at the games that they were booking meetings for and the games they were not booking meetings for, no Gears for meetings, seems strain god, right, But it might be all over the show floor, right, and they will certainly have to show campaign stuff in the press conference. But I mean that multiplayer beta was free for everybody at a certain point, so everybody has played that. I'm excited to see that. Yeah, yeah, me too. I'll just see the campaign. I'd like to Seymour Killer Instinc stuff. But I mean season three just came out. That's still pretty new. I don't know what I feel. But they do have that weird new single player mode, so maybe they would show that in some form. And I'm sure they've got characters more than likely. I mean half most of them are leaked by now, though, so they still have like was it like General rom or whatever was part of that league. So if they're going to start talking Gears stuff, I wonder I wonder if else the rest of the rest of the Battle toes at this press conference. I mean they've been, like you said, they've got so many announced already that need to get put out. Like I wonder if between between all the games they already have announced and like all this console stuff they may have to address, right, it may not be a lot of room for new games to get announced by them. But yeah, yeah, and you know what what would they show there was you know, it's hard to know. There's so much loose talk going around right now that you know you can't chase every single piece of it back to the source. There were some people trying to say, like, oh, man, Sunset overdrives come to PC, Like what all right? What I mean that would be in keeping with their their current model of sort of floating things in that direction and weird intervals. Yeah, but I think that's it's more like I have to imagine that's more of a go forward thing of like at some point any first party Microsoft game will just end up on both, right, But but every team's got to test it, right, every every team hit has to cut their teeth on the right on the Ask store. Yeah, whatever that is. Yeah, you know, there's rumors about Halo five PC, even though Frank O'Connor came out a month or two ago and said that's not happening. So like, who knows what will happen with their PC spe Yeah at their Forge things, right, that's so weird. PC announcements might might who knows. Yeah. I hope they make a big you know, push forward you know the Windows ten and uh Xbox one compatibility. I also want to see backwards compatibility. Like I think it would be great if they're just like, hey, fuck it, all of the three sixty games are now backwards. That's that's gonna be a tough proposition concidering number of third parties. They'll have to work with a lot of business. But it would be nice if they did a real significant chunk during the three, like just announced that a bunch of stuff for that cool. It just occurred to me, like the Take two stuff, Like Take two flat out said rock Star is preparing to announce something soon a month or two ago. Agent maybe and you know the reds one exclusive red debt excuse me, red debt three? Yeah, Red three. Then they've been going around for a while. Yeah, that could show. But confidence that could that You would think it would be in one or the other. Right, if it's gonna show up at all, it'll it'll be a table tennis too. Yep, Warriors, that's a fun I'd be stoked about a table tennis too. That'd be awesome. GTA five was your table tennis too. In terms of them like getting their engine up on the new consoles this time. Uh but yeah, that Red Dead leak, that all seemed pretty solid back when it happens. Oh right, that map stuff, Yeah, yeah, that's that's probably that's probably a game it'll be Microsoft or Sony, let's say, and Rocks are San Diego or whatever. They've been pretty quiet for yeah, yeah, anything else since twenty ten, since Red Dead did the map hinted it being a prequel. That's that's the word. Yeah, that was the word going around. All right, let's say, I guess kind of for Microsoft, that's yeah, But I think I think a price cut makes sense. I think talking about a redesigned base level box makes sense. But as as yeah, especially as as aggressively as they are getting away from the media and TV stuff right, Like, I got a statement from them yesterday that they are officially tabling the goddamn DVR stuff that I was waiting for, like they are. They are. They are literally no longer working on announced features for the TV stuff that they had out there. So okay, wow, that's how hard. That's how hard they're getting away from that stuff. So yeah, if the smaller box they're gonna put out is that's got to only have one HDMI poured on us at that point, is that a game machine that they have exercise exercise the matric from all that box? Uh? So yeah, that happens Monday morning and then there's Xbox is clear A couple hours later, is you be Soft? I believe, isn't it is? Yeah? Watchdogs too fully out there? Yeah, yeah, that's out there. You could get uh breaking news, and I feel like, you know, like with the way Watchdogs two informations have been leaking, they'll be a build out by the time. Yeah, it's yeah, it's like oh whoops, no, but like it's go to fucking Mega and download to build a fucking Washdogs. H probably won't happen with Watchdogs, but actually, like that has totally been a thing at the last couple of E threes, you know of like games that are big at E three also having like some kind of beta out for Destiny, the Destiny beta. I was watching the thing yesterday about the through twenty fourteen where like there was a Battlefield Hardline yep demo out there, there was a Destiny beta. Like games that are at E three also just playable for everybody, So that kind of kind of thing could happen. But Washdogs two Wildlands, yeah, ghost Freak on Wildlands seems like so then those are both games that we have, Like so youb Soft also decided to have like nine events prior to the start of the show. Yeah, it's more like three, but it's still a lot. Uh and each one has different games at it, which as someone who's trying to schedule stuff is a little frustrating, especially when there's like press conferences and stuffing. Yeah yeah, yeah, so yeah. Ghost like literally one of their events overlaps with the Sony press conference, which I'm surprised at some point that the ESA didn't like step in and go like, fucking what are you doing? But I guess maybe that's something. Right now, Hey, what wild sumably wild would show up at this thing? I want to see more of that. Yeah, I think it was last It was the last year. It was two years ago that that first Ghost free count trailer ended their press conference, right, I thought it was last year. It might have been four player states these white lines. So okay, let's see, there's the one event that will happen. So there's the one event that you and I are going to try to go to. It is that they build as wild Lands and a as soon to be announced game that I imagine is Watchdogs. And then there's the Monday night thing that Alex and Dan are going to go to that is four Honor, South Park, Eagle Flight and more for Honor. They're having some they're having some other event that is like Investor focused and a new VR game I think is going to get announced there, okay, And what else do they have? Is that everything that sounds pretty much like the announced lineup, but you know, like a new Just Dance would make sense if they Yeah, I think that that's like one of those over under Like it's one of those bets like this, it's going to be the year for Beyond Good and Evil? Is like that is like logistically impossible because Ancel was working on Wild right sure like and he's not even fully employed by uvsoft anymore. Like whatever time he's giving them is going into that game. Yeah. So okay, So there are two questions. One, will Beyond Good and Evil to show up at this press conference? No? No, will it ever be a video game? Yeah? Once Vendi gets in there and we started calling the shots death end, that's why they're buying the y who made that joke on the podcast, I did, okay, all right? Uh, I am in the camp that that game is never going to occur. I feel like all those never gonna happen games always happen, Dude, Nukem forever in a new mirror. It does on the Sony stage, because Sony will have paid for it to have to like, you know, try it. Yeah, exactly, they'll grab some hearts and minds. I mean that's the way to do that one. Yeah, actually it probably is. Ubisoft always has a game or two up their sleeve. Yeah, like Watchdogs was the big announcement, wild Lands was that last year big announcement. They always have one or two big things. They'll probably talk about the Assassins Creed movie. Yeah, here a little bit. Do you think they will run even a teaser for their thing next year? Oh, the game for the new game next year? Maybe even like a real brief like you know, hey, here's here's a damn bird flying over Egypt. Yeah. That leak that's supposed to leak sounded really cool. Acient Egypt. Okay, it's ancient eveshipt and and apparently there's a little It sounds like they're they're focusing on some modern day stuff like trying to tie all that stuff back together again. Also, also the leak said that they were looking at the Witcher three as inspiration for like doing a bigger Live or World. That sounded it sounded awesome. That that sounds cool. Yeah, I mean changing up the formula that would be great. I think they're gonna climb a pyramid, you can, you know? No, they got like it's like there's it's all bricks, so you just like climb the little handholds, so it's not just straight diagonal. Yeah, I know there's there's not smooth like the Luxor Yeah. I was just picturing the Luxor basic on pyramids. There are other pyramids. You could see one yan, Yeah, you could. You could maybe see a new assassin's creed here. Like I'm trying to think what else would be like a maybe we're due for a splinter cell. Maybe feels like the impression the last couple didn't conviction, didn't didn't do Gangbusters. I think you're probably right, but I don't think that's enough for them to walk away from it. I think that feels like a backward compatibility announcement, like here are some of the old good stuff is available now measure. Yeah. Do you think they go back to that other Rainbow six game that they canceled, which was like Rainbow six Patriots Freedom. Oh no, Patriots became Siege. Ok. Yeah, like Sieges is what was salvaged from that project? Show any new Siege content? I don't know that games but out for six months. That's not a They're selling their starter addition on Steam for a few days, just like they did with Call of Duty. So that's not a big splashy press conference thing. But you know, they've got time. But yeah, I don't know. I think they would probably have a just dance along, Yeah, just dance VR. No one wants to dance wearing a headset, you, I mean you almost can't with that cord tethering you. That doesn't mean they won't do it, but yeah, I want to watch other people dance. Yeah, well you're in luck. So it seems like they've got enough games out there that you know, like you could probably see one or two announcements, but hard to say. Yeah, you'd be nice to see something brand new. Yeah sure out of them, Sure, I think that they're probably do well. I mean they have they're for honor, they have you know, wild Dands is technically yeah, they have a newish announced, even though it's you know, in the clients at Universe M we will see Yeah, as as usual, we don't know what we don't know planar costplaying attendees always. We will see how that stuff goes, and then we move on to the evening when Sony rounds out the day. Indeed, and I think we can assume that the the VR headset is going to be a big thing, yeah for them, Yeah, yeah, I think it has to be. I think the question there is what percentage of that thing do they dedicate to that presentation? Is that a third of it? Is it less? More? Well, you have to look at like what do they have left to show? Right, So they've already gotten out there with the price, with the availability, you know, I think so they have a day or just a month. Oh, I think it's still just a month. So maybe they name the day. Yeah, I'm going to just show a big game for yeah, software lineup, it's just the key thing now. Yeah. Yeah, and they've got a bunch of Yeah, they have a bunch of smaller games for it. But yeah, if they had one big marquee thing. Maybe they've they've even been announcing some games for it this week, the last just a little indie games here and there. Yeah, I would probably keep the last Guardian off that stage. Yeah, I think yeah, yeah, they showed it last year like that game like to you have to make good on the promise of that game by shipping it, yep. At this point, you know, yeah, I think the only way you do an on stage demo is if you have an actual release date to attach to the end of that. Yeah, yeah, you're probably and they didn't know they did it last year and another yeah yeah, yeah, I think I could see that. Yeah, the dating that thing is about what you get out of that. You know. No, Man's Sky probably doesn't doesn't show up here, not after the way they handled that the lay announcement. If they tried to bury that, so uh, maybe it makes it into a montage or something, the pre press conference montage. I'm sure. I would also say the general tone of those demos kind of sliding the way it has like that, it's a dispoint. It would just be Sean Murray coming over there, kicking over the podium and that would be the end of it. I would watch that sure, trying to think if anything is leaked. There's there's been a lot of talk about God of War. Yeah, yeah, Norse mythology. That's well, that was the leak a couple of months ago. What's what are the big Norse gods who can say, yeah, it's Odin, Yes, okay, we got to murder some different trickster god IDRISI yeah sure, so hey, look, I'm as generally tired as anyone of the the God of War universe. It went on, went too long, But the idea of Credos just hopping and skipping around different mythologies just to murder more gods, like, that's funny enough to where I can I'm least need to give it one show. If the leak is to be believed, it's like a redesigned, rebooted character. Yeah fine, okay or whatever. It was as self aware as just like original Greek Credos, just as fucking every god has to die. I'm pissed off in some vikings as I'm gonna go kill your god. It starts out out and it is original Greek Credos, but then he morphs into Norse Credos, and there's him with a Viking helmet. Yeah, okay, I think I would have been a beard. Yeah, and Beard just grows onto him, belashing his way across Valhalla while aiming a marth plays like, yeah, fucking ay, let's do that. Let's do some Viking ass metal credos. I would love a new Gotta War, especially like I won't go that far, but I'm willing to entertain this. Yeah, it's it's so totally not it was no, it was not only is it play out, but they made three of them and multiple spinoffs, Like, I just don't it doesn't three incredible even tho they got a War reboot that has this new universe thing. Wait, I'm sorry they made four of them. Yeah, that's that's how played out of how many you want to be technical about it? Well, the x car got a War four right right, Yeah, that one was I was excluding there's a portable games, but I forgot about ascension completely but not by multiplayers still, Like, I just don't understand how you want more of that. It's cool, it's it was cool. It definitely was cool. It was what if it was the Lady got It War? I don't think that really matters. But Bayonetta is a good, very good. Yeah, like my my my issues with that series have a lot more to do with just it's just been done. It's just been done spectacles, so well, it takes it. Well, let's see what this spectacle looks like. I'm at least willing to entertain what they're doing, and we'll see they make it super metal. I'm into it, sure, Okay. Uh, there's some leak going around this morning. I don't what else could so would would destiny stuff be here because they just had their their announcements. Maybe there's nothing left. The stream has taken place as this is being recorded, right. Also, that leaked like a mother, but we'll get to that. Uh. There's a Singapore based retailer or that has a Skylander's pack that is PS four exclusive that says Crash addition. So is it crash and then the rest of the pack is ladies Yeah, okay, yeah, it could be burnout crash Mode. Yeah, it's burnout crash Mode coming to So one one might look at this and think that there could be a crash Bandicoot Skylander, which we're considering. Activision owns crash Bandicoot. Yeah, it all fits together, makes some sense. It looks super weird, like that Spiro Skylander. That's Spiro Skylander was the one that started at all Matt, But it looks super ugly and stupid. It's where you dump all your characters from the PS one two era. I guess if if Activision really wanted to will a new Crash Bandicoot into existence, like, why would they give it to Sony. They don't want to will a new Crash Bandicoot into existence. That's it's a skylander and not a video game. No, I'm saying, if, like you know, the speculation is rampant, maybe it shouldn't be about there being a new Crash Bandicoot game. I don't know, dude, wore a shirt to a press conference and then now a bunch of people have you know, are are making some loose Crash stuff, right, that's what That's what I mean. People keep banging the Sony will have a new Crash Bandicoot game or hashtags we'll say crash and I just I just don't see it. I think that's a super dumb. I think making a new Crash Bandicoot game is actually a really dumb ideas completed uncharted. Yeah, I mean, I means it's coming back viral marketing. I actually think Crash Bandicoot would make a better amibo. Oh you're not wrong, Oh yeah, but you think of Crash Bandicoot as like a dude on legs walking around like a person. Yeah, I mean the Skylanders don't really fish. Yeah, he doesn't have a car. You know that he had a car on a motorcycle too. Then they're past the vehicle thing like the Skylanders thing this year is making your own Skylander. So a crash thing seems even weirder in that context too. I think it works. Uh, yeah, it work works in a business sense, I guess if it's but yeah, well we'll see elsewhere on Sony, I can't I can't think of any like big outstanding franchises they have that they haven't revisited an all. They've got stuff in the works. You know, they've got Detroit, They've got uh, you know what we've we've got I booked meetings for two unannounced games with them, so they're are guaranteed to be two things that we don't know about right now. Yeah, so God of War probably very well be one of those. Something else I really want to flash and they are not VR games. I am fascinated by Detroit. Yeah, we've got Yeah, we will see Detroit mag two. It's the new so com. It's finally happening getting Zipper back together. Uh, yeah, that's probably a lot of your stuff with them. And then the big question is if there's any neo stuff mixed in there, do they address it? They I think they address it, but I don't think they go into any real detail. Yeah, I think that is a you know, we will be building out the breadth of PlayStation four products in the future. We're very excited about what's coming down the line. They obliquely kind of address that it exists without really going into details. That's my feeling. Yeah, they kind of like maybe this like nod of like heay, we'll have more to say about this in the future. But but I don't think this is the spot for them to get into like grand detail. What are they priced at right now? Forty nine Mmm sounds about right. There are so many bargains around both of those consoles out there these days that it's hard. It's hard to keep your finger on what the actual price is because bundles with like two games. Yeah, Like I constantly ceps fours with like two good games for two nine out there, Like it's it's crazy. Yeah, I could maybe see them like if you if you, if you assume that they will have a new version of the console out over the next let's say twelve months. Yea, then it probably makes sense for them to start moving like clearing out inventory. Yeah, so that's what two ninety nine probably if they do that drop right. Hard to say. Depends on what the new one would be, probably how they bundle it, how they bundle it out, like how they what sides hard drive they go with, Like there are options that would that would kind of change that a little bit. I think do you think they'll shrink the assuming the NEOs is real, Like, do you think they'll shrink the existing like kind of slim ify the old version. I don't think they'll bother. I think they'll I think they'll move out what they have and I mean it's and move over to Neo. It's not bulky the way the Xbox one. So I feel like there's people clamoring for that as much, unless they just want to visually differentiate it from whatever the new one is, which will probably be about the same size this one will be. I would guess just a big triangle for some reason. Yeah, but yeah, if there at three forty nine, now, I mean you could almost see them hitting two ninety nine maybe here and then again maybe another cut alongside the launch the rollout of the neo. But they just passed forty million units, so it'll have a lot of incentive to drop the price. But that's the thing you'll have to if they're if they're hitting forty million now, like they're going to bump up against the more price conscious consumers here sooner or later. So like those cuts, like you know, help them hit fifty sixty seventy million, and that helps them move a lot more consoles. So I don't know, yep, over under on like Vita being mentioned at all here, extremely under outside okay, okay, but outside of the context of this is an indie game we're showing that will come to PS four and Vita then nothing will the word Vita be said during the press conference. Yeah, it might be uttered, but it will be uttered in a very offhand, not even like we're talking about the Vita right now. Is via? Yeah exactly. It will be an and Vita mentioned once or twice. I okay, that that sounds right to me. Yeah. Sure. Any kickstarters we think will be announced during the show, Yeah, do you think they'll address any of the stuff from last year. We will be there at all. I totally doubt. I'd like to see, uh like sort of documentary check in with how that's gone. Maybe not even show that contentious enough. I think that they will steer away from that. Yeah. Yeah, I could maybe see something from the Final Fantasy remake. Yeah, footage to show of that game, like that's actually that's a that's a real video and that could make some sense see some footage from that being there. Yeah, and uh, I was just thinking to something that I forgot those of those think third party stuff, so like Call of So Call of Duty is bringing back Call of Duty XP this year their own event. Wow, And they are doing the multiplayer reveal there in like September, So if they're showing anything here, it will probably not be a multiplayer So I that'll definitely be in the in the Sony press conference, and I bet that that'll be single player focused. Yeah. Yeah, is too showing up anywhere? Maybe I think it's been announced. Doubt that was due to a leak. Perhaps they may have moved up the timing and the announcement because of the league. I feel like if you're if you if you are locked in for a press conference slot and your game leaks, you stay quiet because because otherwise you're not in the press conference anymore. So I'm guessing that that that's I'm guessing that that's not going to make it into that any of that stuff. Uh, I can see I could see Warner's other game making it into one of these. Yes, yes, but yeah we will get to that. Yeah, Sony's a weird one. How much VRD do they show do they talk about the New York console? Have they figured out a good way to show VR like, well, you know they at least they brought it on stage at the PlayStation Experience its last year or so, right, they've got some experience with that. Yeah, some some mix, some some kinks may have been worked out since then. Yeah, any sense of like what kind of indie stuff might show their face on the stage. They didn't really do their like kind of indie developers in the round last year like they I think they've done that, you know, like that's well established, like it's not people not people know you can get indie games on the PS four. Yeah. Uh did they bring miss out in the suit m Ken? That'd be cool? Yeah, maybe I don't know, but I don't I think they've they've done that too, ye don't. I don't think it makes sense here. Uh yeah, that's I think that's kind of what we know and can predict about Sony. Yeah, I mean, unless you want to start like shooting aiming for the fences and just like, okay, what's some long dormant franchise that you can see them putting the business together on cos there it is PlayStation All Stars, Carnage Heart wipe Out. They maybe distraction Derby, that's that's the thing. You know, you can throw ips at the wall to sticks, but we will not know until we get there. Yea, nothing like no way Naughty Dog would have anything, right, No, No, I mean they've got you know, they're putting out a bunch of free multiplayer stuff for that, and there's also a single player add on coming. But so they might give it a second just to have their victory lap moment of hey there's great games. They'll maybe they'll talk about it and maybe mention something about that add on. I don't know, we will see u. And then lastly, the next morning, as was the show in this fact, in fact, this was like three hours before you hear this. Yeah, and then sody, we'll start their treehouse stream just as a formality, we will talk about it, even though I think like it's Zelda, and then you know they're just But that's the thing is I got an email from them that was like, tune in at nine, we'll kick it off with Pokemon's Sun and Moon and then talk about the legend of Zelda. So yeah, we're all set to be like, yeah, well it's worth doing Nintendo if they're gonna show Zelda for an hour, and then we find out no, they're gonna start with Pokemon. You want people to stick around. We'll see how that stuff goes. But you know, they did. They did say that they have expanded a little bit on the stream front. Yeah, with with Pokemon, with that weird fire England mash up. I'm trying to think what else they mentioned. I really want to see Pokemon go. Yeah, well maybe maybe that'll be part of it, but it's not like going anywhere. It's still sounded like it's still sounded like their treehouse stream is mostly Zelda with a few other things thrown in. Yeah, they have a paper Mario game on the books that they do. What is the color splash Yeah, I think that's right. I could see a bunch of new amibos being announced. Sure, I don't I don't know, I don't like what games you time to, I don't know, whatever you have to yes, really yeah, uh people care. That's because it's the game. The amibo work with the games. So like I mean, if you if you just announce of a bunch of new amibo, then it's like, okay, are these going to work with Smash Brothers or like Bayonetta and Cloud Like did that ever happen? Genuine rics are out? Yeah, I genuinely believe we are past the point of them even caring what they actually those things actually factor into. They just want to get more on Damn shelves, on dance shells. Yes, on Dan shelves single handedly propping up the business at this point, he's putting our kids through college. Yeah, so I think that any like like a harder push into amibo, like a large scale push waits for NX. Sure I can see a bunch of Zelda ones, Like if they show a bunch of new characters the stream of that. I think that's the when you look at like the games they have left, you could make some assumptions that like some of those will have a meibo like a paper Mario amibo probably makes yeah, like mister gam and watch basically yeah, and like yeah, like here's here's a new link in the style of you know, if if Lincoln shows up in that new game, maybe your Lincoln Amibo and a new gant you know, like how do they not have a tingle yet? Yeah, so maybe this tingle makes into that game. Maybe this is time for maybe it's time for Tingle. Yeah. But I think I suspect that any kind of larger like revamp of Amibos waits for the NX, and I bet that there will be like internal changes to the way Ambo work. I could see that to stop the cloning of Amibos. Is that a rampant issue right now? It's it's a possibility of an issue, so you know, like how rampid it is, I don't know, but like they will I suspect they will get away from straight NFC and like or or you know, make backwards compatible ambos, but here's you know, they work generally or you know, or forward compatible. Your old Ambos will work on the NX, but new Amibos, I bet will only have some additional security to keep you from copying them. Okay, that's my guess. What a world will we live in? Yeah? Uh, that's it. But that but none of that will be at E three because that's the next shit it brings us up to out. That's all the press conferences and major stuff. As of as of this moment, you pretty much know everything there is to know out of E three this year. But let's talk about publishers. The exhibitors of E three. I've got the list in front of me here on the very website. I will be exhibiting a D three now showing drunk and disorderly Conce's what I show up for my new game. It's a match three and bring your compadre with you. I hope that, I hope that I forget exactly what it was called. But that vintage game thing from last year, did you see that? No, I don't think it's like some museum. It's so yeah. They just had a bunch of old arcade machines and stuff. It was beyond that. They had like, they had notebooks. They had a tary engineer notebooks from the seventies and eighties of like just like like like you know, circuit circuit diagrams and notes and stuff they had made as they were working on and building the machines and just all kinds of I mean, it seems like plenty of room on the show floor for that sort of thing. That was That was one of the big moments for me last year of seeing that, going like, these are old games. This seems like it belongs at packs E three is for games that are coming out. Yeah, but yeah, I don't know, we'll see it anyway. Let's go through some of the big companies here and just kind of see see what we got going on. I'm gonna start alphabetically. Okay with two K, Alex. I know you've been talking to them, I have. They just announced that x com is coming to consoles. Yes, in like September, I believe, Yes. Yeah, but two K doesn't really show a ton of stuff at either. Usually, yeah, they'll they'll skip like wrestling is almost never there. So what they've announced for wrestling is that they will have they will have a portrait artist painting members of the roster from the new WWE game on the side of their booth. First the first non Goldberg announcements. Yeah, so they will be announcing that way some of the roster and that sounds like that be it so slow motion announcement over the course of the show. Yeah, So here's a guy painting John Cena on the side of a booth yep, and you're like, oh, Johnston is in the game. That's really crazy. Can't wow, whoa whoa, whoa whoa. I can't see him, So it'll be it'll be that an NBA won't be there either. It's almost never at the show, especially you mentioned Seve. Yeah, so SIEV and Mafia three. They've got Mafia three ann That sounds kind of cool. Yeah, un tentatively. The premise of that game looks great, even though to New Orleans, right yep, Well, it's it's an amalgamation of New Orleans and some of the Louisiana like Bayou backcountry stuff. It was also city but also especially said in the sixties, like full of sixties and political turmoil. Yeah, hot, it hot in the middle of the Vietnam conflicts stuff, all that stuff going on. Like that sounds like it could, but then I don't know. Then again two was like pretty disappointing. This is this is a different team. It's it's it's Hanger thirteen, like it's the former two K Marin and some other stuff. Kind of really did not realize that part. Yeah, so or I don't know the exact extent of who is from what studio, but like that is a new thing that they formed not too long ago, and this is the fun. Imagine that some of those people are people that came off of the Bureau, which was also made here in Nevada. Yeah, but who knows, Uh, do we know anything else for two K? I think that might be it if they're showing anything. There might be some mobile stuff that they're showing behind closed doors, but it's the only thing they have us on the books for is is Mafia? And how about some battle Born deals? Anybody is there a season paths for that? Yes? Yeah, we heard anything about sales for that? Or was that just like a mass we've seen like Steam numbers and stuff. And also if Steam concurrent players or anything to go by, not great. There are not a lot of people. It's on its way to evolve territory. Oh okay, yeah so esports there was Yeah, someone I know we last week tweeted at one point that they had looked at the Steam player base, and there were more people playing Call of Duty World at War than there were playing at that moment, that's right. Yeah, And I was like, who yeah, not not doing great, so probably not gonna hear a whole lot about that, yeah A three. Yeah, And it doesn't seem like this would be the time to have some anything in place for a Borderland's three, Like Gearbox is more or less said that they're doing it, that they're they're getting underway with that, but next year for that yeah yeah, so that's that's unless they get back into some other sports and they could announce like, hey, we're gonna do another unlicensed football game. Bring they could bring baseball back to other platforms, non Sony platforms. Doke Duke NUKEMB technically possible, right, yeah, I mean, but anything as possible, But I think I have to imagine that like Gearbox will be largely focused on on Borderlands, and probably rightly so yeah, yeah, I appreciate your optimism though, Yeah that's not optimists. Imagine a world where like that Duke Newkeambe game was as good at doing what it was trying to do as Doom was, Like, is that even possible? With Duke. I don't think it is that even possible. Yeah, the name of that game, the Sinth of Humor, is anything like who knows how, who knows how radically you would have to change what Duke is to make it work kind of everything. What about a BioShock something? No, there is like whatever Ken Levine's doing. I mean that's true, you know, I guess there's always but it feels like whatever he's working on is far enough off that we're not going to hear about it for a while because, I mean, he's off doing his side project with the people now and it's been riding Logan's run. It's been over three years since then we came out and came together or not not sure. I mean that that process moves so slowly. Yeah, but it's been a while, yeah, since Infinite So maybe maybe he thinks about what he's doing. He's still with two K. He is still officially like like the studio, Like I think they were saying, was like what it doesn't right after? Right, very very small thing. Yeah, uh yeah, maybe we'll see Activision next on the list. I'm looking at looking at this booth thing. Are they just in meeting rooms this year? You you weird booked to that appointment. I did, but I never look at where the appliants are actually, I just clicked through they right, they announced that, the right announced that they don't have flo that's right there their show floor of presence last year, like like in terms of like what was just sitting out there was a guitar hero right right right, but it was still a lot of floor space. It was just it was nothing but meeting rooms, but it was still they had one of the giant booth spacing rooms. Yeah, that was to go upstairs. Right, They've got Call of Duty Skylanders and like they'll talk about some of this destiny stuff, but I don't even think they'll have anything to show more than what they were showing. Yeah, they already stood a stream which I haven't got a chance to see you, but that that got blown wide open. Yeah, I think first Overwatch characters or anything. No, not, that's a blue Blizzard doesn't like October November Blizzard doesn't really They were all out sooner than that, and it just happens on the time, kid. Yeah, Blizzard does not need the three Yeah, uh, I guess we don't need to go through all the destiny stuff here, but that stuff is fully out there at this point. Yeah, but I'm pretty just yeah. I was just guy, like just top level, like, do you think it sounds interesting? I I had heard two or three months ago, like not to get my hopes up about how much would be in this thing. So in that light, like seeing the list, I was like, Okay, there's some stuff. It's it's a it's a it's a ray to strike a full like a new zone with a new social area, a new faction of enemies. It's on Earth. It's like kind of been there. It's uh, it's kind of attached to the Old Russia stuff. Damn, like geographically attached. I don't, I don't. I don't think that means that you load into Old Russia and then run there. But like it's the setting wise, it's like I'd like to see like somewhere completely different. Yeah, well, I'm sure it looks somewhat different. It's like it's the plague Glands or something like that. There's some kind of awful plague there. So is the new faction just going to be the existing enemies with poison? I don't know that's possible. I think I think they're like plague fallen. Actually, I mean it's all like a fallen theme. Yeah, I mean just like a green about that. But like it's it's kind of dumb to get hung up on those Taken enemies looking the same because they played completely if you're right, like they used the same models. Yeah, like it could have been better, but like gameplay wise, it was fun. It's thirty bucks, right, thirty dollars, which is cheaper than Taking King. And then you said you have to have everything up to now. That's from the sounds of it, it is only Xbox one and PS four. Oh okay, okay, we'll need to own Taking King and base game. But how much is that like pack that has both of those now right now? I think it's still sixty yards maybe discounted by it. I mean when by the time this thing comes out, maybe they'll have another like Skew that is, yeah, you get it for sixty bucks. You could see it being sixty again next year for everything up to now, that's thirty bucks seems reasonable. That's cheaper than Taking King. And also I have heard some severe things about how much those last Gin versions are holding that game back. Yeah, so hearing that they're finally making content that is free of those restrictions. That could be cool, but I imagine it would take larger engine, like a large scale replatforming, re engineering or whatever to actually actually make the changes that you're talking about. Yeah, probably talking about that next year, yes, probably hopefully. Yeah. Uh, let's see. I think this is worth talking about Persona five Yep, you think it'll be there? Yes, they said it's going to be there. Yeah. They announced the US release date two, which we didn't get a chance to talk about on the West. Yeah, it's February fourteen, twenty seventeen. Awesome, what is that a good six months later than about that. Yeah Valentine's Day baby, yep, grease up your ice links. Yeah. So they'll be showing some new stuff for that of that game. That'll be exciting. Yeah. Uh, we kind of talked about Namco already. Namco's got you know, this Universe two the University. Yeah, they've got it's their lineup as mostly anime games. Let's be most tech in an anime, most mostly Jason oriented game. Yeah. Jason. Jason then will be visiting Namco, but you guys will come with you and you see tech in and leave. I'm playing some God Eater two. Yeah, that's that's I believe that will be there. Uh, let's see, we talked about Bethesda pretty much already. Uh, there are a lot of exhibitors at E three. There's not a lot that quite a bit fewer than normal though. Yeah, like that VR Porn Company has a yes, you know, like like E three's gotten to that point. The lens the lens maker will be there. Why not? Uh? Here is Clapper has a booth, so you know what what turn on your Xbox? But no, I don't. I don't know why. Uh, I don't know if it's actually that doubt it. Uh. Is there anything I'll say about Capcom? Yeah, I guess it's Stree fight or five story modes, story modes you saw that stuff. Yeah, we want to talk about that now are quickly briefly real top level stuff. So this is the cinematic story expansion that they had. You know, they actually just put out a big, like detailed list today, Like that's three or four hours and yeah, three to four hours of consent bust out to like five different chapters. You'll get a taste of the remaining delC characters. Yeah, that was the big thing, jury Urian, yeah, Bell Rogue. Yeah, and some some NPC's as well, So that's interesting. They're altill getting ready. Yeah, NPCs like like some of the Shadowloo. There's also some other characters that I don't think I'm able to talk about, but yeah, not characters that are announced for the game, but these are characters that they've made a move list for. So take that fair enough, We got it not confirming as to whether or not that's you know, they're actually gonna be playable at any point, but that's all I saw. That eighty thousand fight money is the number that you will be able to get out of the story mode that well, yeah, you can actually go through wwice. Yeah. So yeah, once through and then like an extra hard mode afterwards. But yeah, these are still just the one round fights. Also, did you see that they've done away with the concept of his any he's gone and he's gone, rather than actually make their shop work. And I said, you know these consoles have shops in them. Yeah, right, we're going to charge you real money directly. A lot of the stages are getting like a you know, a night's Day okay, and they look really good. Yea but yeah, other than that, they have some some more surprises. Okay, are we thinking they'll have more than just street fighters? Like I mean, the big question is where is already It would be about time for a new like big one, right, ye six, But if they've got Dead Rising four like Problem roll Out already seven and Dead Rising four at the same time, yeah, or teaser or anything, I would one thousand percent and take a new Dead Rising over a new Reside Evil. So if that's yeah, fine, one billion for cents. Okay, the Stable kind of a like reboot of what Resident Evil was, it'd be more interested. But if it was if it was Resident Evil but it was set in a mall, Okay, and you're a photographer, Yeah, you're a war time what if you had covered wars? If it's anything like six, we don't want to talk for Leon S. Kennedy Okay, alright, alright, no. Back in Yeah, six I thought was just terrible. So if it's anything like that, if they once a new one or whatever, I would hate that. Yeah. Capcom kind of been taking a beating lately. Yeah, I think I thought it was kind of even money on whether Ari would be there or not until the Dead Rising League. It's like maybe that's their big game. Yeah, they probably won't have anything with Umbrella Corp. Right, because that's coming out fairly soon. I'm sure they'll have it there. Ye. But yeah in terms of like what's left to say about it, Like that game is thirty bucks or forty bucks? Yeah, yeah, okay, esports esports, yeah, right, like the sports Z sports U sports. Let's see CD Project Red is on this list. And that Gwent card game has gotten leaked. Yeah, we have. I been to see that. That seemed like when I the stuff I played in the Witch or three and got to Gwent, I was like, they should probably spin this out into a game of its own. As people started talking about how much they liked Gwent, is it physical cards? No, I think it's like a video game start Stone style. Okay, she said, all right, Fable pub game style. What if that helps you? I like that. It seems like that they're not gonna have cyberpunk here. They just said like two months ago that they've barely started on it. Like that, they because you know, they may even working on They made two large Witch or three expansions, and then after they finished that stuff, they said like yeah, we need to like improve our engine and tools before we really get going on cyberpunk. So okay, that game is probably years away, and as far as I know, that's all they've got the show. Okay, Deep Silver. We talked about Agents of Mayhem quite a bit on last week's podcast. Is there anything else from them? We booked for two? No, they had two games. We booked Agents of Mayhem. Okay, they also have an F one game. Okay, I think I'm going to try to piggy. You should you should try. You should try to go with cam Spot one game, maybe an appointment. They had appointment slots left for Agents of Mayhem, but not one was all booked. One was book solid and they said to blame Europeans, Yeah, which which is always good advice. No dead island on that web. Yeah, well but they just so they just yanked or publicly announced that they had yanked Yeager off of that. Feel like that was months ago. This was it was It was last summer, I think it was, But then I think the Sumo Digital announcement was just a couple of months ago, right, three. Yeah, it's probably always away. I'm probably not much to show there. Yeager, makers of spec Ops the line, right, I think they were gone. They have sense announced like kind of financial difficulties. Yeah, so I'm not sure. Was the Specops the last game they made, but they released as far as last shipping game. Yeah, yeah, the game. It's cool. Yes, Okay, keep going on the line we talked about EA. Epic Games is on the list they have. They have a meeting, they always have a meeting room there. Yeah, this is but but like I've seen, I saw a demo of a real engine four three times. It's like half shopping engine licenses around. But you know, and and at this point, Unreal Tournament is out there for free. Uh, Paragon is out there in its many weird forms, and the Fortnight I suspect that that game will just that that game is in a closed beta that you could sign up for uh and sign the NDA and never talk about or scream or anything like that. You could be playing Fortnite right now while listening to this. I don't know, And you can't tell me if you are, are you? I can't tell you? All right then? H but fucking I don't is that ever going to be anything more than that? At this point? Like I played that game as part of like the Pree three Judges Week last year, no idea, and thought that like that would be a push to it kind of getting out there a bit more, maybe in a more formal way. But it hasn't, and that's really crazy. I just I wonder if they're like retooling major parts of it, or parts of where they just aren't happy with, or maybe it just doesn't make business sense. I can't I don't know who can say, who can say? I can't tell you. Yeah, I'm gonna bring out Focus Home Interactive. Yeah, only because I could not find I could not believe that. I found myself booking an appointment for the Focus on I'm Interactive until I saw interesting that line up and I was like, h Alex is going to see them? Hell yeah, I am, and I kind of wish I was going with you. So they got they got that dam here game. Yeah, you're going to see the new uh don't no, don't know. Okay, I was gonna say, I'm I'm quite sure how to pronounce that. Yeah, the life is strange. People are making some kind of vampire action RPG. Okay, and you're going to see that the new Deck thirteen game. The Lords of the Fallen developers, Yes, have a sci fi game which apparently is also Dark Souls. That sounds great, but sci fi all right now, I'm like, that sounds kind of cool. With the New Space Hulk, yeah, which I saw a trailer four and looks amazing and also apparently is made by the developers of I. Oh. Fuck, yes, that's what Austin said. Dude, I don't know if that. If that's not accurate, blame it on Austin, but holy shit, dude, Okay, guys, whoa I know. And then the end of the appointment booking for that was and you can choose your fourth game between Sticks Too and Farming Simulator seventeen. I guess what I picked? Yeah, yeah, we would. It sounds like a great appointment. That might actually be the appointment of the show. And that's why I snatched it up immediately. Uh, looking forward to that. That'll be interesting. Yeah. Game Informer has booth okay to this list. Let's go see. I mean they always did this game. It's a meeting. I mean that was the war room essentially. It was close. Yeah. Yes. Game game Spot is also listed on this list. Oh so that they Activision has just put out of press release about uh their E three presence and yeah, call of duty Destiny Skylanderson Okay sounds about right. Yeah, and players are thrust into wartime leadership as Captain Yes, a Tier one Special Operations soldier who takes the Helm of the Retribution, one of Earth's last remaining warships. Oh right, it's in space. I forgotten a bunch of it is. Yeah, it is a sick beard. He's Tier one, so he would obviously have a sick beard. September twentieth for the Destiny thing. Oh oh, Captain regas Skylander's creation crystals, damn you on this dangerous scandlet yeah, uh yeah, I don't know. All right, keepboarding down the list here. Anybody have anything to say about Coe Tecmo Warriors will be there, We'll be actually, I believe I believe Austin is going to see them. Yeah, I know they have Neo right man. Yeah, and I hyphen Oh yes, that one the hyphen has come out. Oh yeah, yeah, but yes, that game. It sounds like they're changing that game up significantly. Took a lot of player feedback. Hear seven different Dynasty Warriors games. I'm sure at least and horse Racing. I would not be shocked to see them bring d OA Extreme three over. Oh really, Uh you say that the PlayStation trophies for that game have been translated into English in a way that they were not upon launch. Sometimes that stuff just happens and it's weird and all other stuff. But I guess with that in mind, there's at least a shot of it. Did they put out an Asian version of that? They did, like already translated, Yeah, but those trophies were not. I bought the Japanese version. Okay, so I don't know what the real ship, but there are English trophies out there. I wanted the real shit, and I already had a Japanese psent account, so it was just easier to spend that wallet money on that. Sure. Big news as we moved down the list here, Konami has given up their booth. They are reduced to meeting rooms this year. Yeah, they made that metal gear pachinko machine. I know, remake well, but I mean if you also, but just also like the Konami booth last year, it was one of the more surreal things I have seen a three. It was mostly well yeah, wait, it was two years it was like there was a giant carpet. Most of their booths, yeah, most of their booth foot footprint was just a big red rug. Last year's is actually pretty cool. I'd go with a balloon, Okay, I didn't. I didn't see that one. I think they're still gonna make soccer. Okay, okay, that makes that meaning room is just going to be a lawyer with a gun who's just gonna point at anyone who dares walk in there. What are you doing here? Get out of my office. I don't know about you, guys. I did not get any outreach from phonomen I made the Fox engine me. It was all me, get in here, turn the lights off, and tell your story. Other name, the other name I go by today, Okojima. It's been me the whole time. That guy, I don't know what he's doing. We talked about you put out his poster that just says I'll keep coming, and I'm like, that's sick. I'm here, I'm Kanami. As you said, Naught America is on this list. Okay, Nintendo a lot of exhibit or, but it's a lot of peripheral companies and and and smaller, smaller operations here. Uh, perfect world land Tronics. Anybody headphones? Ah? Yes, go check out some strategy guides. Uh. I think if they're doing with their digital stuff, like you get a digital version of their state. Yeah, like you log into their site and there's an app. I don't know, it's kind of cool. Uh. It seems like, yeah, you would want like a searchable app instead of liked next to my computer when I'm playing. It's just sell sick ass art books that then have a code for the strategy GUI digital format, because then you would you would want prints of the art, but a PDF of the strategy would make sense. True, Dad, that's my prema strategy guide for their business strategies. Uh, say it's on the list. I think that's just Don of War three as far as I know. So we talked about how crazy is it though, if we could just talk about Sega for a brief moment, that Sega seems to just be Dawn of War three. Yeah, Like what a weird company. I mean I know that that stuff has been you know, the the PC side, the western side of Sega has been you know, more prominent. Yeah, and and probably doing Okay, does that mean no Sonic game. Something, there's a new Yeah, is it three DS Sire and Fire and Ice? Yeah? That didn't did that come out? I thought there there is a thing in an email I got that said there will be something that related to Sonic Boom there, right, I couldn't quite pars what it was the cartoon? Is it just a game thing? All right? Okay, all right, I feel better, yeah you in some sick way, I feel better knowing there's a Sonic game out there. Yeah, it's the Devil, you know. Uh again, we like we said, we don't think SHMU will be prominent at the show. But even if it were, would he could show it? No, they're not showing it well, or or that developer shown on its owner would show it independent on Sony would show it, but on behalf of the developer, right, And I don't think they will show it. Yeah, Sega did say that they were looking at doing HD remasters of the previous Gen Move games. I mean, might as well piggyback onto that thing. And yeah, didn't they They put those out on XBLA, didn't they. I know they put the first one out. I thought I was never actually shipped. I'd swear I don't think I swear to Maybe I'm wrong. I'm pretty I don't think it actually never maybe right, the trophy of the achievements showed up on partner Net or something like, I'd like there was some partner in that entry for it at one point. Maybe you're right that I remember doing a shin move video in Saucelito, but maybe that was was that just the Dreamcast game? Maybe maybe it was no way I'm going Yeah, you never know. Yeah, Take two is on the list, but I mean that's kind of just two K right, like if he has something that will be at a press conference, like between the rock Star style of like we drove a bus onto the show floor and then surround it with chain link fence. Come on this bus and watch us play the Warriors. Okay, my favorite rock Star appointment Ever's pretty good on this bus with Geronimo, Like, this is great, this is super weird. It's pretty good. Let's see, you'd be soft has been pretty thoroughly covered. Yeah, on this show. There's not a whole lot else. We're working our way up to Warner Brothers, which we have not talked about yet, Yeah, which has some stuff, and Justice got announced after it got leaked. They've got their three Lego games dimensions, the Star Wars game Force awakens, Lego Worlds, you know, which is in early access now I think has been for years. Yeah, yeah, and then yeah, and Justice has been announced, and then we're I am mostly certain that that game is Shadow More War two. Okay, that would make sense. Yeah, that's something that we don't know one hundred percent here, but coming up on coming up on two years since I think yeah, I mean, you know, Model doesn't to be working on anything else, and you knows Game of the Year twenty fourteen, right, uh so, and and and I think at the time we said, man, everyone's going to steal this Nemesis system stuff, and no one did. Nobody has well, they just might not have had time to implement it in a way yet. You know, it takes time for that stuff to to filter its way into other developers. Maybe next year there will be like four games. Yeah, that's that's kind of what I'm thinking on The game wasn't perfect, but it's so much fun with it. Yeah, and the parts that needed to be well done were so well done, damn right man. But there's room for it to grow. Yeah, that's game that's what I mean, like a more fully fleshed out, like like kind of more realized version of that could be incredibly exciting. Yeah, that is like quietly one of the things I'm the most excited to see at the show Injustice was mine for surely. Yeah, really, what do you think about the what they've said about it, like the I mean not details like you can I can street this as like a gem system from you've had across techn or just like gear stuff, but it certainly seems to be a way where you can take a lot of the single player contents and you know, have it factor into like multiplayer stuff, not necessarily online. Yeah, we'll see, I guess like that's the thing. But I would I bet, I bet they would absolutely try to make it work across the board and try to actually balance that, which sounds is real hard. It's super ambitious, and I didn't think they'd be able to do it with like a Mortal Combat and three three different styles and stuff, But yeah, they totally made that work. So it's entirely possible. Like maybe they put a point cap or something, right, yeah, two knows get your loot boxes or or it's like tiered, so it's like, if you have this this range of loot equipped, you're only going to get matched with people in that tier. Totally could. Yeah, there's there's ways of making that work. I thought. I wonder like how much the impact. So the game is gonna have loot boxes. You will you will get items that will change the way you look physically, but also have like gameplay differences on your character. Right, that's a scary part. But I'm totally all about the cosmetic stuff. Yeah, bring it on. But yeah, it looks like everybody's going to have that. That's the sort of system I guess. But we really just saw like a trailer so and then yeah, like bullet points on retail sites and stuff kind of getting into some more of that stuff like handful of characters, Supergirl, Gorilla, Grod. Yep, no swamp thing yet, Tracitus, Sure, did you say swamp thing? I want swamping swamp thing. It is really till I have only seen the movie, oh from from decades ago. I had no ideas. Okay, all right, now I'm in. I'd also love to see bat Zarro and Bizarro. I want them to get just weird and whacky with this one. Totally it was fun. I like, I wonder, I wonder how we talked about this some the other day. I wonder how that ties into the current state of DC movies. I'm guessing I was at all, Yeah, I was, I guess the first maybe thinking like a suicide Squad game. I don't know how that would work. I my guess is what they would do is they would probably put in some character skins that looked like the movie character the extent of Yeah, that's kind of how they've handled it in the past. But I want to say that, like the Injustice comic book line is still ongoing, yeah, and still doing well if that's if that's its own successful, ongoing thing. And I don't know how goofy it's getting sure respond off. The game just launching it was like a co marketed thing. Yeah, So I don't know if we're gonna see bat Might, but that would be cool too. At what bat Might. He's just a little Batman, tiny Batman. I can't man, but Batman sure, okay, sure, that's that's ald me close or tiny Batman. That's for bats Cross, Yes, all right, that's uh, that's pretty much like all the heaviest hitters at E three. Yeah, and then there's you know the other open to the public end of the show, which across the street or three live hot Pockets and what the Dorito's music venue. Yeah, are they going to be giving out to Rito's and hot pockets. There was a hot Pockets van there last you know what, Dan, We'll send you in there to find out. Okay, I do remember the Hot Pockets van last year. I got a lot of hot pockets from there. But it'll be our man on the street for the open to the public thing is straight up fried to lay across the back. You're back on the ham duet. It'll be a lot of I gotta find out what I do it is, but it is some big fake Derito's arcade machine that Steve Aoki will play out of stoj. Okay, what are the musical acts of E three that we know of? Blank? One of these two is playing, Yeah, but that's a press conference, will be blank. There are other acts. There are other acts that were announced that for that Doritos to believe. I believe Little Wayne will be appearing on the YouTube gaming Jeff Keiley will have Tony Hawk's pro skater fives Little Wayne. That's all I know of. There was a list of other people that were playing on that stage, but Deritos. I'm just about Deritos E three A big boy, big boy was right, yes, okay, the Burger guy. Yeah yeah, Burgers. I just doesn't have morphn Andre Man myself. Well sure, big boys. Yeah, they worked well together. Whiz Khalifa. Uh yeah, it just says Steve Aoki was Khalifa. And well that's gonna let me take into this press release. Uh yeah, it just says and Moore. Oh hey, no, here we go. Uh. Bold Orchestra a non traditional orchestra made of a bold mix of instruments and performers, which I think is just a like Dorito's Bold to the Doritos thing. Zane Low will be their mixmaster, Mike DJ Jazzy Jeff but not Fresh Definitely not the Fresh Friends. Definitely not the Fresh Prins. No, Jazzy Jeff does his own thing. Uh. Empire of the Sun will be there, which is a band. Okay, okay, all right, Yeah, it's still kind of weird because it's, you know, a public thing, but they sold free tickets to it. Yeah, the ticket free, So it's you know, the Derritos this Derito stage is how they're paying for that thing, right, is by making a six story Derrito Monster or whatever the fuck they're doing. Yeah, and then it's like weird time slots as well, so you can't just like book like you're going or skating. You go in from like ten to five, five to or it's nown to five or five to ten pm. That's how they did like Summer Slam access in that same area, like outside the Stable center. You forgot the roller DJ right, roller DJ Vining Caville spinning spinning on the ones and twos, not the threes. But yeah, that list of exhibitors that they have for the public thing, it's like Warner and ub Yeah. But then it's like Monster and Switch and Share all this other stuff. Yeah. You kind of wondered if more publishers would come out and say, yeah, we'll have games there too, but this this to make change and music experience. Man oh man, this to me seems like them sons like something we should check out. Yes, hey what if ea, hey what if you showed your games here too? And sure enough, like tight, there will be a titan Fall events as part of this Doritos thing, And that's where the mech unveil is going to happen, but I don't know. Yeah, I don't know who day, We'll have to check in on it. Yes, somebody should go over there with a camera. And I think they if they want you three to remain viable to publishers, they have to make changes, and this is them attempting to make those changes. So we'll see. Yep, let's do a video, Drew. Why you looking at me? Because you have a camera and I like doritos. I'm perfectly looking, perfect logic. Can't fault it. Yep, I don't. I don't want you. I don't want you making their sponsors successful sponsorships. So if you do go over there, no doritos, I can't eat doritos. So doritos. That's only I don't care run some dtail. I want you to go cover. I want serious coverage of the public of n E three. You're a journalist, God, David, it doesn't. That doesn't play into the any of their bullshit. You're not a journalist. But for the sake of argument, for one day only, man, if you do find yourself with I want you to talk about these tortilla chips that have been sponsoring the show. I don't want to get word. I don't I don't have to show their brand or anybody. As long as I can put them in my face, that's all I care about. Okay, Okay, yeah, that's about that. You can put them in your nose, you can put them in your ears, you can rub your eyes on them. You cannot eat them, but don't tell us that's close enough. Yeah, it'll get in there somehow. Yeah, probably. Okay, that's what we know about E three. Just like E three, you'll get in there. Anything outside the convention designs. I mean, it's you know, it's it's a weird year with like Devolvers. Usually. Yeah, the Volvers got their parking lot. They'll have their barbecue, cool tim live streams. Yeah, yeah, our night shows. But but yeah, in terms of company events, like you know, it's all these big companies pulled out and don't have boots anymore. It's a lot of trying to get across town and see their stuff there instead of in the LACC. But's uh, yeah, yeah, we'll get out there. We'll do it. Yeah. Uh, we're off the three. We're gonna go see some games, tune into our night shows. Yes, and whatever the hell else we got going on. Yeah, it'll be on giant bomb dot com. Checks out on the internet, Yeah, check it out video games dot com.
