Well I'm excited today. This next guest is someone who has built her voice completely on her own terms. She is unapologetic, confident, and real, watching her evolve from music to culture and creating a platform where people are not just watching her, but they're really connecting with her. From Kresha please to acting to thriving businesses. Businesses as implural because this is handling her business, okay, now stepping into her own solo era, this new chapter, and from everything we're seeing, this is her most authentic yet. Beyond all of that, she is building something bigger than just moments. She is building legacy. Can y'all please stand to your feet? Everybody get up and give a very warm atl welcome to my girl, Young Miami. Yes, honey, you are so beautiful.

00:01:34
Speaker 2: Atli's up. Yes, I hope I kind of have a good time because I did.

00:01:41
Speaker 1: We are gonna have some fun. Listen, this is my first time being live here of Black Effects, so I'm excited.

00:01:48
Speaker 2: It's my first time being live as a guest. So I'm gonna the nervous.

00:01:52
Speaker 1: Telling y'all she in good hands, right.

00:01:55
Speaker 2: I'm gonna nervous or nervous.

00:01:58
Speaker 1: Don't be nervous. I want to know before we get started. How are you doing? I'm doing good.

00:02:02
Speaker 2: How you doing? I'm good.

00:02:03
Speaker 1: I'm tired girl, I'm filming right now. To listen, we're working.

00:02:08
Speaker 2: That's right. That gramagy, that's right.

00:02:11
Speaker 1: That is right. So we're gonna break the ice with something you are very comfortable with.

00:02:15
Speaker 2: Okay.

00:02:15
Speaker 1: You know how you used to go live on Instagram. Yeah, you would just talk about whatever it was on your mind. You would answer questions.

00:02:21
Speaker 2: Ah.

00:02:21
Speaker 1: So we're gonna do our own version of Krisha Live. All right, So all I want you to do is say the first thing that comes to your mind. Okay, your first real reaction. A fan asked for dating advice, What do you tell them? I don't like to.

00:02:34
Speaker 2: Give dating advice because I feel like, as individuals, we all like, well we like and what may work for me may not work for y'all. So do whatever makes you happy, and that's my day. And advice.

00:02:45
Speaker 1: That's good advice, right, do what makes you happy? Okay, you are cooking your go to meal on live. What is it that you're cooking right now?

00:02:54
Speaker 2: I'll make some honey baked chicken, rice and asparagus.

00:02:58
Speaker 1: Oo were coming to Cracious with dinner, y'all. What's one time that you went on live and when you got off you said to yourself, Oh, I probably shouldn't have said that. All the time.

00:03:10
Speaker 2: My mouth is unfiltered every time I go live, I'll be like, girl, you gotta start going live.

00:03:18
Speaker 1: But that is what people love about you. They love your authenticity. They love that you are unapologetically yourself. Now, I think that's what's strong so many people to you outside of your artist's career. Thank you so we love that. And speaking of your care free energy, I'm sure that is what set you up for your hit show Kresha, Please, y'all. Did y'all know that she had over forty five million plus views on YouTube, nine million social media followers, a BET Award winner. You are doing all of the things. A lot of people are here because they're interested in getting into the podcast space. I want to know what made you step into podcasting in the first place.

00:03:57
Speaker 2: I think, you know, she's my personality. Yes, like going to life, it was kind of like, you should do a podcast because you are very entertaining. You ask a lot of questions. Because whenever I meet somebody, I ask a lot of questions. I interview people are like, so it's like, why not take it on a bigger form and do a podcast. I love that.

00:04:15
Speaker 1: Did someone had to talk you into it? Or was this your idea? Now?

00:04:19
Speaker 2: Somebody taught me into it?

00:04:20
Speaker 1: It was the same for me because I really wasn't ready to open up.

00:04:22
Speaker 2: No, was like, you should get a podcast. You ask good questions, and I was like, okay, why not?

00:04:28
Speaker 1: Come on? I love that. What did have in your own platform give you that? Music did not?

00:04:36
Speaker 2: I think music give me a voice. But I think that like having my podcast, it just separating me. It just put me in my own lane and it just made me special. I think that it just made me be a bigger voice for the culture.

00:04:49
Speaker 1: I love that. Yeah, and it has I love that. Was there ever a moment that you realized that people are really connecting to you, not just for what you did. But like, actually, Kresha, I think.

00:04:59
Speaker 2: That when every person that I interview on the show, they all open up to me, like they all it was like, I never did this before. I never told nobody this, so I never had this conversation. I was just like, but you're doing it with me, and they always tell me like my energy, just give a safe space. How they felt safe with me. So I think that, like probably after my third interview, I was like, oh, these people really feel comfortable with me, and they made me feel made me feel really good about myself.

00:05:25
Speaker 1: You have a very calming spirit. I just meant her for the first time backstage, and immediately it was like, you have a very peaceful energy. I love that.

00:05:34
Speaker 2: I mean, I'm a lady. I'm a woman, you know, I'm a lady.

00:05:40
Speaker 1: I love that. Did podcasting change how you saw your inner voice and the influence that you have?

00:05:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, because before I'm not gonna lie, I was like, I'm really good at this. I never knew like how much I connect with people because performing it from a crowd and like really sitting there having a conversation with somebody's for sure.

00:06:02
Speaker 1: Now a lot of people see the clips they see everything on the outside, but they don't see what it takes to make it all happen. There is a business behind podcasting, So I want to ask you what did you learn about ownership and control when you start your podcast.

00:06:15
Speaker 2: I would say it's like this. It's like owning a house and renting a house. When you own a house, you could sell your house. When you're renting a house, you can't sell it because you're reading it. So ownership is very important. Like owning your house, you could always you know, build it up and sell it. It's worth something. But when you just renting it, you're paying somebody else mortgage, right, And that's that's how I look at it.

00:06:38
Speaker 1: I love that. Now is this something that you got into it knowing this is a business, This is your image and your likeness. This is something that could turn into something bigger. What are your aspirations for the podcast? My aspiration for the podcast is continue to grow it. It's like a baby I gave birth.

00:06:53
Speaker 2: I gotta build it up, raise it, get it at a place where I send it off the college and graduate and like now we're here. So I think, you know, starting to building the foundation. I want to keep it going. I want to go on tour, I want to do you know, live interviews, and I want to just continue to grow it.

00:07:08
Speaker 1: I can't wait to see that. Gonna kill less this now? What is something about the business side that surprised you where you were like, oh, I didn't know all this was going on in the seconds? Everything about it? Yeah, it's tiring. Listen, let's talk about that. Do you like Backstreet like where you shoot like the multiple episodes in a day, or do you like do one at a time.

00:07:26
Speaker 2: I was doing tour day at one for my second season, I was doing too at a day. But it's like for me, I want to do too looks two weeks like I want to Yes, it's the whole production. And it's also you gotta study. You gotta study the person that's coming on your podcast. I know a lot about them. It's just a lie.

00:07:44
Speaker 1: It's a lot of time you know that you're putting in to this. I love that because it is a former journalism. You have to know the person, know about them so you can carry on the conversation. Right, That's so true. People don't see the prep work that goes into these interviews. We don't just sit down on the right, hey girl, So let's chat. It's not that at all. Was there ever a moment in your podcast where you felt like, Wow, this is bigger than just entertainment. I'm changing lives.

00:08:12
Speaker 2: The first time I sat down and filmed my first episode, I was like wow. But when I did season two and it was just like a whole big production and I had like it was just so much going on. I'm looking around, I'm like, this mine, this Caresha, this is me. This is a little girl from Opa Laka. I think, you know, just transitioning out of music because people love to box me in and just be like you're a rapper. You can't do this, and you can't do that. You can't do that. So when I did my first episode and I saw that attic, I said, Mama, I made it. I love that.

00:08:51
Speaker 1: I know you had a bunch of amazing guests, but out of everyone and not slighting anyone, who is your favorite? And if you can't name it one, you can give me three your top three.

00:09:00
Speaker 2: I'm gonna say Kevin Gates. Kevin Gates brought the energy and I also felt like he set the tone, like he literally set the tone for Krisha Please, because he came and nothing was off limits, like he was answering everything. He was like, I don't even my second favorite person was she herbo in my third persons, I like the summer Walker sum Yeah.

00:09:25
Speaker 1: You're one with g Herbal went viral because he interview with me.

00:09:29
Speaker 2: He put me back in the hot seat. I'm like, hey, this my this is my podcast, the only one that's interviewing, not you.

00:09:35
Speaker 1: He tried to turn the tables real quick. I also want to know, are you thinking about relaunching it? We would love to see it come back because it's been a while. We want do.

00:09:44
Speaker 2: We want to know, y'all, Krisha Please is coming? It never left? You know, sometimes you have to like reset. You gotta reset, you gotta have a vision, you gotta clean up, and sometimes you gotta up the house. So I got an episode coming real real soon.

00:10:04
Speaker 1: We're excited about that. Y'all ready for that job? Yes? Now? How involved are you in the creative me? I'm involved in every single thing from what I'm wearing to have my hair, is makeup, the guests, the set, everything. How hands on are you?

00:10:19
Speaker 2: I'm a creative I'm a creative director. I literally kind of create director everything I do, like nothing is moving without me because I always have a vision, Like I know what I want. I'm a girl that knows what I want in my business, personal life, relationship. This is my life. So I'm the one that travel my car. I know what when I get in a car, I know my destination. So I operate everything. I love that.

00:10:44
Speaker 1: I'm the same way. Now do you ever feel like that gets exhausting?

00:10:49
Speaker 2: It do because it'll be like, girl, let somebody else do it. It is exhausting. But I'm very passionate, you know. I feel like it's you only get one life, you only get one chance, and it's this my chance. And I'm not playing around like I'm not. I'm not. I'm gonna take advantage of this. I'm not gonna see the play around. And I'm a person I get up early, I go out. I'll be up at eight o'clock. They be like you up, Yeah, yeah, I love that.

00:11:16
Speaker 1: On the way here, I was answering some questions on Instagram and someone asked me how do I keep my passion alive? And I said, I don't keep it alive, it keeps me alive. And talking about when something is a passion. It's the thing that's driving you. So you you just keep going.

00:11:30
Speaker 2: I love that because you love it like it's your job and it's like you gotta you gotta want it for yourself. You know, nobody can't want it but you. So that's how I look at it.

00:11:41
Speaker 1: I love that. Now, what did the first run the podcast teach you that you didn't expect about yourself?

00:11:54
Speaker 2: I guess I'm gonna say, I'm anna safe space, that people really love me, people really connect with me. It taught me that people really really connect outside of like being a public figure, like as a person on a personal level.

00:12:06
Speaker 1: You talked about being boxed in and how people trying to box you in because you are a public figure. We were introduced to you through rap. How do you break out of that box and let people know, hey, I'm not a monolith. I can do all the things.

00:12:20
Speaker 2: Every time somebody tell me I can't do something, I do it. I'm like one of God's favorite Like when they say no, people be like in another one, in another one. Now you in BMF, Now you're doing this, Now you're doing that. So I think that it's like I don't even look at it no more. It's just like my God got me, big God. It's like watch this, Yes, watch this.

00:12:42
Speaker 1: I love that. I love that. Now we mess you through City Girls and now you are walking into your solo era. And you were saying, this is the most authentic that people have seen you because this is your time. How did you know that it was time to go solo? And how are you walking into that space? I know? Sometimes like even from I'm on Sisters, which is an ensemble cast with a lot of women, and then I got my Spindo off show, which is just me and my love interest, I didn't have that support of all the girls, and it was a different time navigating that space. How are you walking into this new era?

00:13:14
Speaker 2: I need new energy, a new frequency, you know, just positive, just happy, just focusing on me. I think that when you focus on yourself, that's when you're the best version of yourself. Because it's like when you're in a group, it's like being in a relationship. Sometimes y'all don't always see eye to eye and it's just like when you finally lead that relationship, it's like damm I hair getting on my skin going because you're focusing on yourself, right, So That's how I look at it. I'm focused on myself. I love that.

00:13:42
Speaker 1: So what are you loving about this new creative process as you're working on this new project.

00:13:46
Speaker 2: I love that people get to see me as an individual now. They know like, Okay, the songs that I picked, the beat selections, my visuals, the content that I'm creating. They can understand me now as a solo artist, as an individual.

00:13:58
Speaker 1: Choys, Yeah, what is your creative process like, like, take us to the moment when you feel like I'm ready to start a new album to getting in the studio and creating.

00:14:07
Speaker 2: What is your process Like, I'm not gonna lie, I'm on moody. I'm so moody. I don't know however I wake up that day, it's how I feel. But most of the time I wake up in a good mood. I wake up I just like the vibe I need, like trying to think. I need time to get myself together, Like I need to wake up and I need to think. It's like, give me a minute, let me the day Tuesday, it's three o'clock, okay, let me just let me just digest its real quick and then I go with the flow.

00:14:35
Speaker 1: I love that so when you get in the studio and you're picking the songs and you're creating, are you going off your real life experiences? Are you like waiting to see if something really resonates with your soul?

00:14:46
Speaker 2: I just going for like whatever mood I'm in. Like if I'm in the studio and I'm just sitting there, I'm like, play this song for you real quick, or pull up a song. And then I got to hear some music and I'm like, Okay, I'm in this bag. I want to go how tempo I want to go? You know, mellow, I want to do this, I want to do that. So it depends on my mood.

00:15:04
Speaker 1: Okay, is there anything that you can let us know what to expect from this new album?

00:15:10
Speaker 2: Fire?

00:15:11
Speaker 1: Come on Johnson Fire. In the chat, she said, Fire, I love that.

00:15:16
Speaker 2: Now.

00:15:16
Speaker 1: Do you enjoy being live on stage performing or being in the booth?

00:15:21
Speaker 2: Both? Really? I enjoy both?

00:15:23
Speaker 1: That's good. I feel like the songwriting process and the recording process is therapeutic.

00:15:28
Speaker 2: Is that like that for you? Yeah? When I'm in the studio, I mean having fun. It's like I'm in there. I feel like it's my safe space, Like I'm just in here, like i'm working, it's like I'm at right, so I be having fun. But then when I'm on stage, I'm like, I'm with the people now, it's kind to connect. It's kind of put on the show.

00:15:46
Speaker 1: Yes, I love that. How do you turn that on? I'm interested? Are you like be honest with you have Sasha fears and then Kreshia. You know how you have an alter ego? I got a yeah, Patty, tap into that? How do you tap into your alter ego?

00:16:02
Speaker 2: I gotta play some music that made me feel good. Take me a shot, have me a drink, put on my wig, get my makeup done, look nice in it's own.

00:16:12
Speaker 1: It's almost like getting into character because you act as well. Yeah, so like once you get into character, she just kind of.

00:16:18
Speaker 2: I love myself in the mirror. I'll be like, it's on a night. You gotta give yourself a pep talk.

00:16:24
Speaker 1: Sometimes it's just on a night. I love that. What part about you? Do you think that people never really hear about.

00:16:36
Speaker 2: I don't know, and I really don't care, Like I just I'm just so over people. What they think, what they know about me, what they don't know. I don't care.

00:16:45
Speaker 1: So there's nothing that's just like, just love me for who you don't here like I don't.

00:16:51
Speaker 2: I don't care about what they don't know, what they do, know what they think. I love the people that support me, of course, like I love my supporters, but I'm over like caring what people think and being a people pleaser because you cannot please nobody and that shit would drive you crazy. And I'm all about protecting my peace. Yes, And I'm like, I'm in my thirties now and I just want to feel good, like life is about feeling good. Life is short. It's short, It's very short. So I'm just pouring to me. I just want to grow, evolve and just have fun. I don't care why what people think about that, I don't care.

00:17:26
Speaker 1: I love that. Was there ever a thing yead? Was there ever a time I know for me, like when I was thrust into this industry, I wasn't ready for all that came with it, you know. And it's a lot of people don't understand how heavy the crown can really be.

00:17:44
Speaker 2: You know.

00:17:44
Speaker 1: And was there ever a moment where you were like, man.

00:17:46
Speaker 2: This is a lot. I'm not gonna lie. It been a lot since I got on the scenes, Like you said behind the scenes, it's a lot, and especially being a woman, it's a lot. It's so much. But it's like, you gotta you know, that's what life about. You gotta like it. Come with punches. You gotta learn how to roll with the punches. You gotta stand for something because you're gonna fall for anything. I gotta have a voice.

00:18:11
Speaker 1: Yes, you gotta have a mind.

00:18:13
Speaker 2: You have to be strown, you have to be vocal, you gotta have a team around you. So I think that, Like, once I really really got into Indu Street, I was like, I see what people were talking about. But one thing about me, I was born and raised in Opa Loca and I ain't going for nothing.

00:18:29
Speaker 1: I know that's right. I love that. You listen, she is so unapologetic about who she is and I love that. Well, let's get into this fashion, okay, because sis is always fly. I want to know, like how to just styll evolve where they come from? Because I feel like girls in Florida like have their own style, they just own energy.

00:18:49
Speaker 2: Where did that come from? My mom? My mom have always been like my inspiration. She just always was like fly all dressing me up. She thought I was her love baby.

00:19:02
Speaker 1: Doll.

00:19:03
Speaker 2: So she always kept me in the latest and she was the one that taught me what fashion is. You know how like you, I have a daughter, so she always see me in hair and makeup, a g lown just like MoMA, you look so cute. I want to wear heels, I want to do my makeup. I want to do this, So I say, my mom, she aspired, like my style.

00:19:20
Speaker 1: I love that. Do you ever feel like people look at your fashion and think that's what defines you?

00:19:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, how do you feel about that? I love it.

00:19:32
Speaker 1: Because I just.

00:19:33
Speaker 2: Say, yeah, I love it. I'm not gonna lie because when it comes to fashion, I really feel like I got my look, Like I just give sexy. I'm gonna give you a two piece. I'm gonna give your body suit, and I'm gonna get your body if people always say that, and I'm like, I'm glad it ain't not my style.

00:19:50
Speaker 1: Yes, I feel like you have a star, like, oh, that's crucial where it like, that's right. I love that, That's why. And I love also that you don't care about what people think, you know, Like it's like if I like it, I like it. I've been like that since I was a kid. My mom would be like, I don't like that. I'm like I do. I just never cared. But I've always been into fashion. Could we ever see like a line from you? I know you have your merch line, but would you ever do like a fashion line.

00:20:17
Speaker 2: I've been thinking about it. I'm ready into heels like I'm a heel girl. I love heels like I well heels. If I could wear heirs to the gym, I wheel, are you? I just love a sexy shoe like so yeah, I love that.

00:20:31
Speaker 1: I don't listen, don't what listen? I have to wear heels all the time on set. So the menu I can put on a sneaker or a flat I'm like, give it to me. I love it, but if my feet be hurting me. So people see the success, they see the confidence, and we kind of touched on this, but they don't understand all that comes along with it. You have a testimony with your upbringing in itself, you know, helping raise your children, I mean helping raise your brothers and sisters and then also being raised in Miami. Tell me about your childhood and what that was like coming up.

00:21:03
Speaker 2: I had kind of like a pretty Norman childhood and to my mom with the prison I had to raise her kids. But I feel like that's what made me the woman I am today. That's why I'm unbreakable because I don't went through the hardship at a young age and it built care to me. So that's why I'm like, I'm the woman who I am today because of you know, my upbringing, and I love it. I needed that because you got to have like you gotta be shrown these days, and a lot of people are not shrown, Like a lot of people mentally are going through it and they don't have nobody to talk to. They don't know how to overcome it, you know, and it's really it's hard, and some people don't know how to get through life. And I'm just proud of like where I came from because it built this woman who I am today. And I don't care how many sticks stones get thrown at me. You can't break me, that's right.

00:21:54
Speaker 1: I love that.

00:21:57
Speaker 2: They are here for it.

00:21:59
Speaker 1: No, I've heard your story and I know it resonates with a lot of people. As a child having to go through that, was there ever moments where you're like, dang, like I just want to be a kid.

00:22:09
Speaker 2: I just want to do what I want to do. I mean, I was like twenty in my mid twenties, so I didn't ever look at it like that because I feel like I was. I was glad that I was able to do that for my mom. Like I'm glad that I was able to raise my mom kids and they didn't have to split up and go here and go there. So I look at it as a blessing. It's like, I'm living my life now. Yes, I'm having fun now, I'm taking kill my mom, taken, kill my brothers, my sister's like. I don't look at it like that. It is what it is.

00:22:42
Speaker 1: That's a blessing, big blessing. I love that you should be proud. Yes, you really shit, I like her. I love that. Thank you.

00:22:55
Speaker 3: Yes.

00:22:56
Speaker 1: I know a lot of people in the audience are wanting to get into this world entertainment industry, podcasting, music. Is there anything that you could tell us about how you stay grounded and what they can look forward to or not look forward to if they really want to get into this.

00:23:11
Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie. How stay grounded is here? My kids call me mommy. Whenever my kids say mommy, you gotta keep going. You got these kids like it. It's my family. I just feel like I gotta just That's that's how I stay grounded. Like everything else is noise. With my kids and my family. I gotta keep going. I gotta get this money. I gotta get this out the hood baby for real real.

00:23:38
Speaker 1: They always say, hearing mama will humble you. It's like, oh, I got a responsibility. Yes, and I'm sure that's something that you look forward to.

00:23:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, I love my kids, love my family.

00:23:48
Speaker 1: I love that being a mother. How do you balance it all because you're so busy.

00:23:51
Speaker 2: I got a great support system. So now my mama got my kids someone else. So that made me feel good and I'm at peace knowing that my kids is somewhat comfortable with my mom. They good, they fed, they got they they comfortable, they safe. I could do whatever I want to do because my kids safe. I'm fine.

00:24:11
Speaker 1: I love that and that's very important. A lot of That's another thing that people should think about when they're wanting to get into this industry because it does pull you into so many different directions. Yes, you need that support system. It is so important. The right team. We talked about having the right team but family and making sure you have the right people around you.

00:24:28
Speaker 2: You got to have the right people around you, because this industry will break you. If you don't have the right people around you, go end up in the middle of the ocean by yourself.

00:24:41
Speaker 1: That's a word no for sure. As you're growing closer to God, has there been instances where you're like where you felt like this is this is between me and him? Because I feel like that, I get that all the time, like this is not your relationship.

00:24:52
Speaker 2: This is us now everything. I feel like every day I wake up, I promise i'd be like, you know what, let me is breathe because God always got me even times when I want to give up, and right when I feel like I want to give up, he show up every time every time. So it's like sometimes you gotta give yourself grace. You gotta give yourself grace, Like you gotta give yourself grace. So I just think that whenever I'm just being hard on myself, I'm like, God, be like, girl, girl, I got you.

00:25:26
Speaker 1: He always does.

00:25:28
Speaker 2: So I feel like every day I wake up, it's between me and him.

00:25:30
Speaker 1: That's the same.

00:25:31
Speaker 2: I don't do nothing without God. I wake up and praise God, go to sleep, pays God like I love God.

00:25:36
Speaker 1: I love that, Come on, y'all, give it up. I love that. I know that we go through hardships, we go through different circumstances, and people look at our lives and be like, man, I want that. Has there ever been moments where all you had to lean on was your faith?

00:25:53
Speaker 2: Yes? Yes, yes, I don't think nobody in life ain't never had to depend on their faith.

00:26:03
Speaker 1: Yes.

00:26:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll be for my life every other day. It's shit. Life hard. It is.

00:26:11
Speaker 1: If there's someone out there right now that is trying to figure it out and they feel like that's all they have. If do you have any advice to them?

00:26:18
Speaker 2: Keep your head up, keep going, pray about it. It's just you gotta believe. Like sometimes when I just be like this shit ain't gonna work, I be like, why I'm being negative instead of being positive, Like, let me be positive, let me think, let me speak positivity into me. So whenever I be negative, I have to correct myself. Stop. Yeah, let's say it's gonna work. Let's say this's gonna happen. So I like to manifest, So I manifest a lot. I love that.

00:26:45
Speaker 1: What are some things that you're manifesting right now that you want to happen a successful, peaceful life, like I just want to like forifer real, for real, retire song, like I don't.

00:26:56
Speaker 2: I just want to be at peace with my kids, Like I want to travel the world my kids. I don't want to be an entertainer because they get tiring. Like these people were, they will really like drive you into a mental state, Like it's a lot to deal with. You know, we're human and we go through personal shit. We got kids, we got family, and it's like gotta deal with these people and then the shit I got going on home. It's too much to deal with. So I just want a successful, peaceful like if I want to give my kids everything I didn't have and I just want to live my life.

00:27:28
Speaker 1: I love that. What do you do in those moments where this is a lot, How do you pour back into Koreatia because you give a lot.

00:27:35
Speaker 2: I go to sleep. Listen, baby, I'm gonna sleep through the bullshit. Wave me up tomorrow. I don't give a funk. I'm going to sleep. You'll call you a bad and I be like, baby, I'm finna go to sleep. Bring me up. Tomorrow, I gotta take a nap, and hey, I want I sleep through the bullshit. I'm telling you, I go to sleep. I just be waking up for real, Like I go to sleep, like I gotta go to sleep, Like I'm gonna get me a nap. I'm gonna go to sleep. I'm going to sleep. I'm gonna deal with that shit tomorrow because it be a new day. Every day. You ain't come to be a new day. And it's like being in the heat of a moment, you know, it's very important, Like bad news is in the heat of a moment. Something happened. I'm going to sleep. Listen, I'm out and night take care.

00:28:20
Speaker 1: Of going to sleep. I'm gonna tell y'all something. I will take a nap in a minute. I was like, y'all give me a second. Fifteen minutes and I'm back. But I gotta go to sleep. And there's sounds where like tomorrow, that's my day off. I'm gonna sleep.

00:28:35
Speaker 2: I caid it.

00:28:35
Speaker 1: I had to like literally write those days in sometimes because our schedules get so busy. Yeah, and sometimes I feel like the months are flying and I'm like, when is the last time I had just a minute, so I have to like literally say hey, these are my blackout dates. Don't call me, don't book nothing one.

00:28:51
Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna sleep, even if it's for five minutes, an hour, thirty minutes, I am going to sleep. I'm the same break me up. When it's over, y'all gonna deal with that shit. I can't do it like, I just can't.

00:29:06
Speaker 1: I can't. I love that, and you have to have boundaries. Let's talk about boundaries. I think that is one of the main ways to survive in this industry is to set real boundaries with people.

00:29:16
Speaker 2: And be like no.

00:29:18
Speaker 1: I've learned that no is a complete sentence. I don't have to do it if I don't want to, if I'm tired, the answer is no.

00:29:24
Speaker 2: I think that boundaries kind of maturity because I wasn't never this mature to say no. Now it's absolutely not. I don't care. I don't care how you feel like because at one point in my life I cared about how people feel and how they felt. So it's like, I'm gonna just do it because I don't want them to feel like this. I'm just do it now. I don't care. Rabe, go write a book. About it, bye, taking a book? Would you ever write a book? I don't know. I don't know. Maybe, but it's it's gonna be spicy though. I know, honey, I got a lot of stories to tell now.

00:30:05
Speaker 1: It's gonna be a page turner. They're gonna be like, I read this book in eight hours.

00:30:09
Speaker 2: Like, I don't know if I will ever write a book. I don't know.

00:30:12
Speaker 1: I get asked that all the time, and I'm like, I don't know. Sometimes I feel like for me person like the things that would probably sell would also impact other people, and I respect other people, and I'm like, I don't know if I want to write about everything.

00:30:25
Speaker 2: You know? So I get that. Yeah, yeah, it's like write the book.

00:30:33
Speaker 1: I want to ask you before we get out of here, what else do you have coming up with? We know you have a solo project. Is there anything else we could look out for? Any new acting projects that you can tease? So?

00:30:42
Speaker 2: I just shot a new song yesterday. It's called spin It. I don't know y'all heard or not, but I'm gonna need y'all to go download it screaming and let me know what y'all think. Watch my video. It's on YouTube and I got an album coming this summer.

00:30:54
Speaker 1: We cannot wait. Listen. I'm so proud of you. I'm proud of you for being un a apologetically.

00:31:00
Speaker 2: You say this, but you have. I'm telling you have a really beautiful spirit.

00:31:04
Speaker 1: And I love how she just don't care. I'm like, because I'm a people pleasing sometimes you gotta stop that.

00:31:09
Speaker 2: I'm getting better being the people please to get you no where.

00:31:12
Speaker 1: But yes, listen, my heartbroken.

00:31:15
Speaker 2: You know that. I'm telling you, do not do that. You gonna look up and then people gonna be gonna drain you.

00:31:23
Speaker 1: Girl. Listen, talk about it. So I'm working on that because I just want to see everyone around me happy.

00:31:28
Speaker 2: But also, you gotta make yourself happy first.

00:31:31
Speaker 1: I'm very happy.

00:31:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, but you gotta be happy first.
