<v Speaker 1>And we're back. <v Speaker 2>It is the Lapsed Fan Wrestling Podcast, celebrating ten years <v Speaker 2>of penetration from every angle, and you've got a service. <v Speaker 1>We're inside it. <v Speaker 2>Plenty of angles to talk about as it regards Clash <v Speaker 2>of the Champions twenty three, Norfolk, Virginia, Norfolk Scoop seventeenth, <v Speaker 2>nineteen ninety three on TBS. <v Speaker 1>The Norfolk Scoope. Right, Yeah, nor Fork, nor Fork. Hey, <v Speaker 1>we're in nor Fork, Virginia, live in direct. Jesse's back. <v Speaker 2>Do you want to talk about serendipity? We do a <v Speaker 2>Jesse pape, we do a jesseww show and he shows <v Speaker 2>up at Raw. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, did he do anything besides just walking the back <v Speaker 1>and get hugged by Triple Ah? Did he go on TV? No, <v Speaker 1>he did not go on TV. <v Speaker 2>He was He did send a tweet I saw at <v Speaker 2>Kerry and Cross, the guy who's got a great Jesse <v Speaker 2>Ventura imitation sort of like playing along with that. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, but no, I don't think so. I think he <v Speaker 1>did anything on TV. <v Speaker 2>So here we are. The Serendipity rolls on and we've <v Speaker 2>got a clash to talk about. We've done a few <v Speaker 2>clashes before. Yeah, you know, he's done a couple, But <v Speaker 2>it's always always fun to have this sort of like <v Speaker 2>abbreviated show run length. You know, it's not like a <v Speaker 2>three hour let's talk about every move Nova did kind <v Speaker 2>of deep die. Not to say I'm st scarred from. <v Speaker 1>That, I am. Well, Unfortunately Nova can we can? We <v Speaker 1>we not Nova ever again. <v Speaker 2>Fortunately we can't bring you the blow by blow of <v Speaker 2>the Dark Match, which is mentioned in part one, was <v Speaker 2>Jim Knightheart pitting Shanghai Peers. The former things Godwin or Shanghai. <v Speaker 2>The other one, Oh no, no, Shanghai is guy was <v Speaker 2>Henry go tech Slazenger is is uh is Phineas. <v Speaker 1>You know that Phineas is a gourmet chef in Florida. <v Speaker 1>I did you know? And it makes sense because apparently <v Speaker 1>these days, to be a gourmet chef you have to <v Speaker 1>be completely tatted up. <v Speaker 2>I know he's got that fucking box check, doesn't he. <v Speaker 1>It's like, I think I'm always fascinated by by all <v Speaker 1>these you know, and I'm I'm not saying a judge, <v Speaker 1>It's just it's just funny to me, how you there <v Speaker 1>are certain things that all of a sudden it becomes <v Speaker 1>kind of like rock star type of thing where you <v Speaker 1>kind of yeah, it's like punk yeah, yeah, like you know, <v Speaker 1>and and and cooking is one of them now, Like <v Speaker 1>you know, being a chef, you gotta fucking you know, <v Speaker 1>you gotta be all tatted up. That's the best. <v Speaker 2>Chefs did heroin, you know at one point and now <v Speaker 2>they don't do heroin anymore. <v Speaker 1>I'm not saying that they fucking were clean or you <v Speaker 1>know whatever, but like it's just it's just kind of funny, <v Speaker 1>Like it's just I love seeing how the the the <v Speaker 1>kind of the world's kind of you know, can can <v Speaker 1>clash championship. <v Speaker 2>Like yeah, you know, it's a it's a night owl business, <v Speaker 2>right and it is it is. It does make sense <v Speaker 2>that a crew that you know stays up late and <v Speaker 2>goes to bed late and would find a calling in <v Speaker 2>the restaurant industry. You don't have to do anything till <v Speaker 2>like two o'clock in the afternoon, and then they get <v Speaker 2>to fuck be around booze all night or you know, <v Speaker 2>when they get really intense, be around like, you know, <v Speaker 2>people who are artistic and judgmental about food. You know, <v Speaker 2>there's nothing that crew loves more than like people that <v Speaker 2>have taste, you know what I mean. Just certain people <v Speaker 2>who say that sucks. <v Speaker 1>You know, people who can critique m exactly exactly. You know, <v Speaker 1>really the flavor here is really really good. It's just <v Speaker 1>it's uneven. Shut. <v Speaker 2>I can only watch so many like Food Network shows <v Speaker 2>before I realize it's basically an AI engine spitting out <v Speaker 2>balance between sweet and salty. We've we've done this one <v Speaker 2>hundred times. Yes, flavor profile nut. There's always nuttiness where <v Speaker 2>there isn't supposed to be nuttiness. <v Speaker 1>There, there's you know, I'm looking for a starch here. <v Speaker 1>I don't see really much of a starch. And there's <v Speaker 1>a kick of spice. <v Speaker 2>You put spice and things that aren't supposed to be spicy, <v Speaker 2>like a spicy marshmallow. Close, close down, close down everything <v Speaker 2>in the neighborhood. The spicy marshmallow is here. <v Speaker 1>You know. It's not really a good marriage between sweet <v Speaker 1>and savory. Do you have it? You know? I think <v Speaker 1>it's season it better right under? <v Speaker 2>Things are undercooked, things are overcooked. Things aren't cooked. Things <v Speaker 2>shouldn't be cooked. Uh, cuts of meat should be what's <v Speaker 2>that said? <v Speaker 1>British bulldog is cooked? <v Speaker 2>Cuts of meat should be coated and breakfast cereal. <v Speaker 1>For some reason, I like how you use the corn <v Speaker 1>flakes with this stay Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm sure you do, <v Speaker 1>looking at your fucking waistline, I'm sure you love that <v Speaker 1>he used the corn flakes, or you got the jeff <v Speaker 1>Jeffrey z of Carrion that has two bites of food <v Speaker 1>a year. <v Speaker 2>He doesn't need a lessons on TV. <v Speaker 1>You know that's exactly right. You know that he like <v Speaker 1>he lives in like a like a like a cryogenically <v Speaker 1>frozen Yeah, you know, stasis, a world. <v Speaker 2>A world renowned five star chef, a national television star who's. <v Speaker 1>Fasting, who fast the majority of the year, but when <v Speaker 1>he has to be on TV, he comes out of stasis. <v Speaker 1>I wish those who fast would taste. <v Speaker 2>For this stasis Keebler. Sometimes I just both wish those <v Speaker 2>who fast would slow. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, yeah, those who intermittently fast, I wish I <v Speaker 1>wish they'd intermittently die intermittently. Stop telling me about it. <v Speaker 1>That's it. <v Speaker 2>That's definitely a category of things where I know for <v Speaker 2>a fact that I've never asked someone in there in <v Speaker 2>my life if they fast. Yet anyone who's ever fasted <v Speaker 2>that I've known has found a way to tell. <v Speaker 1>Me it has been offered up to you more times <v Speaker 1>than than like, uh, the percentages you've asked zero percent <v Speaker 1>of the time, but you have been told about it <v Speaker 1>one hundred percent of the time. Funny how that works. Yep. <v Speaker 2>So it's Clash of the Champions twenty three and we <v Speaker 2>start with that nineties w CW voice Scott. <v Speaker 1>It's a car so they're camp I can't do it, <v Speaker 1>but you know what I mean? Should be are on the. <v Speaker 3>Line to line with nature Boy, Rick Flair and Arn <v Speaker 3>Anderson challenged the Hollywood Fland for the World Tagzine titles. <v Speaker 3>In W eight, Champion Barry Wyndham is tested by high <v Speaker 3>flying challenger Too Cold Scorpio and All American. Ron Simmons <v Speaker 3>aims to strip the World TV Belt from mister Wonderful <v Speaker 3>Paul Orndorffwomp Justin Rose, Dad Boy, Smith, Van Stek, battle <v Speaker 3>Rick Rude, Big Van Bader, and Sid Vicius in an <v Speaker 3>incredible six man explosion pass World Championship Wrestling Presents Clad <v Speaker 3>Oh Dog. <v Speaker 2>Champions got to see that guy in the. <v Speaker 1>Booth six man Explosion either a match in this card <v Speaker 1>or a messy piece of pornography. <v Speaker 2>Six man Explosion featuring Patterson, Garvin and. <v Speaker 1>Friends and vinjick Mann. Yeah, you tell me six men <v Speaker 1>altogether and just by me. <v Speaker 2>You picture that guy, that voiceover guy in the booth, <v Speaker 2>passionately reading that copy into the mic. <v Speaker 1>Championships are on the line as a WCW tag team champions, <v Speaker 1>the Hollywood Blondes take on Rick Flair and arn Anderson <v Speaker 1>in a Death Divine main event. <v Speaker 2>You always talk about how TLF as we watch shows <v Speaker 2>reminds me of, like where these brain worms I have <v Speaker 2>come from? <v Speaker 1>Yes? <v Speaker 2>Like where'd I get this phrase in my head from <v Speaker 2>when I watch wrestling to call a match an explosion? Yes, <v Speaker 2>that's been in my head forever, And like, where the <v Speaker 2>fuck did that come from? There's no way I don't <v Speaker 2>imagine it's been referred to as an explosion on wrestling TV. <v Speaker 2>You got it from the w CW guy to check <v Speaker 2>that box as well? Was that not delightfully nineties? That <v Speaker 2>whole sound? <v Speaker 1>God, I mean everything about it makes me like, to me, <v Speaker 1>that is TBS. That right there, that is what I <v Speaker 1>think of when I think of TBS, and it's it's like, God, <v Speaker 1>there's I think of think of dinner in a movie? <v Speaker 1>I think of movies for guys who like movies, yep. <v Speaker 1>Think of all that shit and it's like, that's that's <v Speaker 1>some fucking warm and fuzzy. It's weird. It's it's weird. <v Speaker 1>Like I've told you, it's weird. How w CW can <v Speaker 1>can bring out more warm and fuzzies sometimes than WWE <v Speaker 1>stuff does. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>I feel like I watched TBS when I was in <v Speaker 2>the state where I was really relaxed and had like <v Speaker 2>nothing to do and I was really chill. It wasn't <v Speaker 2>really appointment viewing. I feel like, you know what I mean, <v Speaker 2>When I watched RAW, like I sought it out and <v Speaker 2>I just watched that one hour window. TBS was like <v Speaker 2>I found myself stumbling on that channel more. <v Speaker 1>Yep, yep, because there was because there was always something <v Speaker 1>on movies I would catch your eye, you know, movies <v Speaker 1>or TV show reruns. You know, there was always something. <v Speaker 2>I do remember watching the Braves when they had to <v Speaker 2>think it was that ninety one World Series season. <v Speaker 1>Okay, I don't know how I watched two over the <v Speaker 1>Hawks were on that channel. <v Speaker 2>So it's like, you know, if there were no sports on, <v Speaker 2>basketball would suddenly be on TBS. <v Speaker 1>And yep. <v Speaker 2>That sort of continues and will end soon hilariously on TNT. <v Speaker 2>But and I remember tuning in and hearing the tail <v Speaker 2>end with the Andy Griffith theme song. <v Speaker 1>That's right exactly, Like why do I know that? Sure? <v Speaker 1>The only reason I know that is because of this <v Speaker 1>era pro wrestling. Yeah, you know, whenever we got to <v Speaker 1>that point during summertime, you know, there there was it <v Speaker 1>was always kind of like a fucking Andy Griffith. All right, <v Speaker 1>I guess I'll watch it and nothing else. There we go. <v Speaker 1>Championship tonight. Could never get into fucking Andy Griffith. Just not, <v Speaker 1>you know, not my speed. Major Dad absolutely Three's company <v Speaker 1>absolutely always watched that when they were on you know, <v Speaker 1>during the day, Gilligoth Island. Absolutely Andy Griffith. Yeah, it's <v Speaker 1>what he built a network on it, you know, I <v Speaker 1>know that. So it's a still graphic of Flare and <v Speaker 1>a T shirt and arm doing the four Horsemen hand <v Speaker 1>signal and a wrist watch while we're hearing all the <v Speaker 1>things we just heard in the production. I'm talking about <v Speaker 1>challenging the Hollywood Blondes, Austin and his curious what was <v Speaker 1>the do we know what the theme? <v Speaker 5>Was? <v Speaker 1>There a theme to this one? I know, I know <v Speaker 1>they used to have. Yeah, No, I don't think so, <v Speaker 1>because what I the only reason I ask is because <v Speaker 1>they're like the the the name plates where you know, <v Speaker 1>when when the when the stills come out, when they <v Speaker 1>kind of scroll in. Everyone has a name plate and <v Speaker 1>it's on a big piece of wood, like a two <v Speaker 1>by four. Oh, yeah, you're right. And I was like, <v Speaker 1>that's so weird, like it makes me wonder, but I don't. <v Speaker 1>I think you're right, and I think, yeah, no. <v Speaker 2>There was no like a spring stampede looking piece of wood. <v Speaker 1>The last yeah, right, or a or a fall brawl <v Speaker 1>type of wood, you know, something that makes me think <v Speaker 1>of warfare seasonal activity. <v Speaker 6>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>The last one, the last one to have a subtitle <v Speaker 1>and was well after the subtitles kind of ended, was <v Speaker 1>the twentieth Annimursery in September, which is not really the <v Speaker 1>twentieth anniversary at all. It's the twentieth class of champions, <v Speaker 1>but it certainly wasn't twenty. It was actually four years after. <v Speaker 2>That's a really weird way to use the word anniversary. <v Speaker 1>It really is it really. <v Speaker 2>And I mean it has to be annual. There's no <v Speaker 2>way to reinterpret. <v Speaker 1>That, right, But they call it clash of the Champions <v Speaker 1>twenty twentieth anniversary. It's funny how it's it's funny how <v Speaker 1>clash the Champions had their twentieth anniversary despite starting in <v Speaker 1>nineteen eighty eight, and at this point, at that point <v Speaker 1>Star Kate hadn't even had its tenth anniversary despite starting <v Speaker 1>in nineteen. <v Speaker 2>Eighty Apparently they're counting in David von Eric years. So <v Speaker 2>this is a very purple clash of the Champions in <v Speaker 2>terms of graphics package and color scheme. And we get <v Speaker 2>a beautiful shot of that Norfolk Scope ceiling to kick <v Speaker 2>it off. <v Speaker 1>Do we not. I'll tell you I adore it. I <v Speaker 1>absolutely adore it. That's the word force cool. It's such <v Speaker 1>like it. I know where I am, I know exactly <v Speaker 1>where I am. I don't need not just. <v Speaker 2>I know what city I'm in, I know what headspace <v Speaker 2>I'm about to be in for the next hour or two. <v Speaker 1>And it's like I don't even like I can like <v Speaker 1>the building. I know the building just by seeing the ceiling. Amazing, <v Speaker 1>And you can't do that anymore. They don't, they don't <v Speaker 1>want to do that. <v Speaker 2>Anymore because it didn't used to be better, right, the <v Speaker 2>homogenization of every single thing that we lay eyes on <v Speaker 2>in our daily lives. Is just the natural evolution. It's <v Speaker 2>not any better or worse. That's what I'm being told. Yeah, right, <v Speaker 2>So Tony Shiavanni welcomes us in. Looks very lively and <v Speaker 2>well lit. I'll give that to Eric. Yes, they're holding <v Speaker 2>those classic WCW purple nose, purple clown nose microphones and <v Speaker 2>yellow clown nose microphones. Jesse's bald, but he's got the rattail, <v Speaker 2>and he's got a jacket on a leather jacket. <v Speaker 1>It is maybe one of the most offensive looks he's <v Speaker 1>ever had. Yeah, that rat tail like that, that kind <v Speaker 1>of that weird I don't even know what. I don't <v Speaker 1>even know what to call it. Like why why Jess, <v Speaker 1>why leave that little patch of hair in the back? <v Speaker 1>I mean, what is that? I mean, I can't imagine <v Speaker 1>anybody in your you know, I can't imagine he would <v Speaker 1>think that's a good idea. <v Speaker 2>He'd already been mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, so the <v Speaker 2>voters of that city didn't have a problem with that. <v Speaker 1>The voters appreciate my rat tail, right, and you know what, <v Speaker 1>they also appreciate Tyrell. <v Speaker 2>I heard a couple of rat Tails on the Living <v Speaker 2>Dangerously episode Heyo, So tonight, Nature Boy returns and the <v Speaker 2>injury to Orndorf is disclosed right off the top. They <v Speaker 2>say he will not be able to wrestle tonight. As <v Speaker 2>you heard mentioned. <v Speaker 1>Therein couldn't change the opening graphic kind of you knew <v Speaker 1>how how far in advanced, and you couldn't fucking change <v Speaker 1>the graphic. <v Speaker 2>But stuff's in the can. He had been injured, by <v Speaker 2>the way, so they announce he won't be able to wrestle, <v Speaker 2>but he will be at ringside and thus a dirty <v Speaker 2>dick slater to take on Simmons in a non title match. <v Speaker 2>So this is two straight weeks here on TLFO we're <v Speaker 2>talking talking about dirty dicks. If you call the chicken <v Speaker 2>skin balls of the sandman, Oh God, still thinking about that. <v Speaker 1>Just you know, you can, like you think of any <v Speaker 1>of be a pull like the skin of like a <v Speaker 1>of like a you know, like a chicken. You know <v Speaker 1>when you're about to cook it, you know, you pull <v Speaker 1>it in His slaps back. What do you want me <v Speaker 1>to say? I want you to say it excites you, <v Speaker 1>it excites me. Can we move on? I don't know. <v Speaker 1>I don't know if we can. I don't think that's <v Speaker 1>a good point. I think there's a there is a <v Speaker 1>a pre Sandman scroted him in a posts Sandman scroted. <v Speaker 2>Him, right, there's it before and after? Yeah yeah, so <v Speaker 2>later to take on Simmons non title match now of course, <v Speaker 2>and they say Simmons will get a shot at Paul <v Speaker 2>od or Stevie title sooner rather than later. I don't <v Speaker 2>think you ever actually did, Gary Michael Kapetta, Ladies and <v Speaker 2>Chan from one of Robins Georgia front same hand with <v Speaker 2>the Yellow. <v Speaker 1>Head Band GMC and and as he's coming down, we <v Speaker 1>get this, uh we we Tony. Tony talks about the <v Speaker 1>the the the his entrance theme, Ron Simmons entrance theme <v Speaker 1>has Ron. <v Speaker 7>Comes down to his song that's a bit him on <v Speaker 7>the Slamjam album Don't Step to Ron no former World Heavyweight. <v Speaker 1>Shit slam Jam any thoughts I can snap into a <v Speaker 1>slam Jam that was their music CD. I know, I know, <v Speaker 1>don't step to Ron, Okay, I won't done. <v Speaker 2>He's got the w W logo with a purple draped <v Speaker 2>sort of tassel curtain in the aisleway and a blue ramp. <v Speaker 2>We got a ramp still and a fan of the <v Speaker 2>crowd of the ron. <v Speaker 1>It's not a ramp, it's a runway because the ramp <v Speaker 1>is what goes it's slanted. The runway goes straight across <v Speaker 1>like you're at a like at Ah. That's true. They <v Speaker 1>always call it a ramp in wrestling, but it's not. <v Speaker 1>The ramp is what is like what we have at <v Speaker 1>raw right. See, that's a ramp because it's slanted. This <v Speaker 1>is a runway because that's like what they do at <v Speaker 1>fashion shows, you know, they walk the runway and it's <v Speaker 1>just like that. It's flat and I love it. I've <v Speaker 1>always loved it. I think it's such a great it's funny, <v Speaker 1>it's it's It certainly takes up a lot of space, <v Speaker 1>yep at ringside, but I'm fine with it, totally fine <v Speaker 1>with it. It adds it adds a unique element when <v Speaker 1>people get tossed over the ropes on on the ramp. <v Speaker 1>On the runway, you can do so much there. <v Speaker 2>You know, It's like if you bump the floor, no <v Speaker 2>one in the building can see it, and so the <v Speaker 2>reaction is always unerwhelming when someone gets back dropped on <v Speaker 2>the concrete. But if you have backdropped on the ramp. <v Speaker 2>It's like happening in this like you know, lem a <v Speaker 2>posture where everybody you know observes it. There just seems <v Speaker 2>to be a lot more oohs and ahs when guys <v Speaker 2>bump on the ramp. <v Speaker 1>Even in Japan, it's it's unfortunate that it's unfortunate that <v Speaker 1>you know, they never were they they they This is <v Speaker 1>one thing I don't like about and I know it <v Speaker 1>will will require a ton of like you know, uh, <v Speaker 1>I don't know, graphic design or animation or whatever the <v Speaker 1>fuck they do to to make video games, and nobody <v Speaker 1>wants to work more than they have to. But I <v Speaker 1>would love there to be legit different entryways, yes, you know, <v Speaker 1>like you've got, and that also react to your surroundings, <v Speaker 1>Like there's there should be an option for a WCW <v Speaker 1>like runway. Absolutely, I'm shocked to hear. Yeah, no, they're not. <v Speaker 1>I mean it's usually you either get a ramp or <v Speaker 1>you get a plane floor walkway. But they don't have <v Speaker 1>a runway like this, and they probably that probably wouldn't <v Speaker 1>be too hard because they do have, you know, in <v Speaker 1>regards to to the the environment they do. You know, <v Speaker 1>you can the wrestlers can go up and down the stages, <v Speaker 1>you know, like on a raw or any WWE set, <v Speaker 1>you know, they can go up and down the stages. <v Speaker 1>So you could just do have a runway. I bet <v Speaker 1>it wouldn't be too crazy. And the other thing that <v Speaker 1>I wish they would do is I wish they would <v Speaker 1>have the Nitro set like it really was. They don't <v Speaker 1>do that. It's because the one thing that was unique <v Speaker 1>about the Nitro entry and the stage and stuff was <v Speaker 1>that it was at the corner. You know, the set <v Speaker 1>was at a corner. Wasn't at the the a at <v Speaker 1>a flat side of the ring. It was on the corner. <v Speaker 1>Always was there. And then they come down. But they <v Speaker 1>make it, they WWE it when they put it in <v Speaker 1>the games. But you know, again it might be it <v Speaker 1>might be too hard, it might be a very complex thing. <v Speaker 1>I don't know, but I would like to see that same. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>I assume they did that, honestly. No. No, it's like <v Speaker 1>the the Nitro sets are just like regular w sets <v Speaker 1>where it's a giant stage, it's got the ww things <v Speaker 1>on it, but you know it's not really you know, <v Speaker 1>it's it's WWE homogenized. It's not like what it was. <v Speaker 1>And it's also too big, like it's huge, huge, And <v Speaker 1>the Nitro set wasn't that big. It was it was <v Speaker 1>kind of small. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it was brilliantly small. I remember those arenas seeming <v Speaker 2>so big on Nitro because the set was reasonable, you know, <v Speaker 2>that Tony Shiavanni table where they would sit. It seemed <v Speaker 2>like it seemed like ww arenas had like so much <v Speaker 2>more square footage than WWF arenas. Yep, where would you <v Speaker 2>put that announce position on a WWF ross set? There's <v Speaker 2>nowhere to put it right. <v Speaker 1>And also the fact that they were not facing they <v Speaker 1>were not facing the ring, they were facing the other side, <v Speaker 1>like that was such a cool thing. <v Speaker 2>I agree, because even if they face the ring, I mean, <v Speaker 2>any announcer will tell you you're watching the monitor the whole <v Speaker 2>time anyway, because youve got to watch what the people <v Speaker 2>are seeing, right, What difference does it make? <v Speaker 1>You know? I still love that Nitro setup, man, Yep, <v Speaker 1>me too. <v Speaker 2>It's the best. It was the best one ever. I <v Speaker 2>don't care how much Kevin Dunn jerked off on the screen. <v Speaker 1>Yep. He never matched that Nitro set ever, not even close. <v Speaker 1>There was something so you know, the the kind of <v Speaker 1>the the juxtaposition of where of the commentary team and <v Speaker 1>the entrance and everything like it just it felt more. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it felt like there were different areas. Yes, they <v Speaker 2>were different places. Things were happening, even. <v Speaker 1>Though they were all very I mean, it's like a <v Speaker 1>it's like a talk show set. You know, you look <v Speaker 1>at a talk show set and it always seems like <v Speaker 1>a talk show set is huge because they have the <v Speaker 1>curtain side and they got the desk side, and it <v Speaker 1>seemed like this massive thing. <v Speaker 2>But it's tiny. Ye it's tiny jay Leno taping and <v Speaker 2>I was shocked. I was like, oh my god, this <v Speaker 2>is this is how much space they actually need to <v Speaker 2>pull this off? <v Speaker 1>Yep? Nothing, nothing at all. <v Speaker 2>So there's a fan in the crowd with the picture <v Speaker 2>of Ron Simmons on it with the world title. I <v Speaker 2>mean Ron Simmons of course had gotten that brief nineteen <v Speaker 2>ninety two world title reign beating Vader under Bill Watts, <v Speaker 2>and then Vader got it back at the end of December, <v Speaker 2>and then Ron simmons w W career essentially fizzled from there. Yes, <v Speaker 2>don't step to Ron indeed, yep, but they're waving their <v Speaker 2>arms to the song. Apparently that was a thing wave <v Speaker 2>your arms around along with the the awkward Ron Simmons. <v Speaker 1>I don't know. I mean, how long when did he leave? <v Speaker 1>When was he gone WWF? In ninety six? <v Speaker 2>He went to ECW for a minute, did he? Yeah, <v Speaker 2>he was one of those guys that stopped over there <v Speaker 2>before going to the FED. <v Speaker 1>Let's take Faruke Assad. What a home run that was. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, he left in ninety four, Okay, do men ninety <v Speaker 2>one he became a single who won the title, and <v Speaker 2>then he he did eventually wrestle Paulo and er If. <v Speaker 2>I take that back spring ninety four according Wikipedia, all right, <v Speaker 2>it was managed briefly by Sherry Martell. <v Speaker 1>I don't remember that at all. I don't remember that <v Speaker 1>at all either. <v Speaker 2>They had a European Cup tournament he was in, and <v Speaker 2>then he feuded with Stinging Bagwell and tag matches and <v Speaker 2>he beat Scar Armstrong in his final w steppy match <v Speaker 2>September tenth, nineteen ninety four. <v Speaker 1>Worldwide. That's much cheaper into ninety four than I thought. Actually, yeah, <v Speaker 1>I didn't know he was. I really didn't picture him <v Speaker 1>being in ww during the Hogan era. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's very that's an exact example the kind of <v Speaker 2>thing we talked about in part one, where like you <v Speaker 2>actually look at the years and play you're like, oh <v Speaker 2>my god, that overlapped. Yeah, those don't overlap in my mind, <v Speaker 2>but they did overlap on the calendar. So Randy Anderson <v Speaker 2>presiding on the contest stick Slater with the world Television champion, <v Speaker 2>and Paul's there Orndorf with a blazer tucked into jeans. <v Speaker 2>Of course the blazer isn't tucked into jeans, but he's <v Speaker 2>got jeans on tucked in shirt and a blazer and <v Speaker 2>the sign PAULA and they used to taunt him with <v Speaker 2>paula Chance back then. He was also office as we <v Speaker 2>know it at the time as well. <v Speaker 1>Hey, why are they making fun of Paul Orndorf. He's <v Speaker 1>a great athlete. <v Speaker 2>At least the champions entering second athlete. So what Jesse says, <v Speaker 2>he doesn't understand the jeers, Like you said, I got <v Speaker 2>a groin pull and all the effort he puts in. <v Speaker 2>I put a lot of effort in a groin poles <v Speaker 2>as well. You're hear me complaining. <v Speaker 1>Usually I do it for pleasure. But these people thinking <v Speaker 1>he would duck Ron Simmons. He's not gonna duck Ron Simmons. <v Speaker 1>He's got a step to Ron Simmons. <v Speaker 2>Right, so he sinks Jesse he better not. So Jesse's <v Speaker 2>trying to get across this idea that people are booing <v Speaker 2>Paul Orndorf because they think he's ducking Ron Simmons and <v Speaker 2>faking his injury. And Tony's just like, no, there is <v Speaker 2>getting on him. <v Speaker 1>That's what. He's a heel. <v Speaker 2>He almost says he's a heel. <v Speaker 1>Right, he should have said that. Hilarious, He's a heel, Jess. <v Speaker 1>I don't know what that means. Shavami. And you know <v Speaker 1>what's great too, You know what is always it's always <v Speaker 1>something to look out for, especially on WCW shows. He's <v Speaker 1>looking at Jesse Ventura while he's doing his commentary and <v Speaker 1>he's rocking back and forth, always rocking back and forth. <v Speaker 2>Count me is fascinated by the things announcers do while <v Speaker 2>they're calling the action, but you never see on camera. <v Speaker 1>That's a fucking that's a cameo question right there, Jeff, <v Speaker 1>I notice in a bunch of w CW shows you <v Speaker 1>keep rocking back and forth. What's the purpose of that? <v Speaker 1>Are you thinking about enchiladas? <v Speaker 2>Well, you know, I guess enchiladas are very good. I mean, <v Speaker 2>first of all, I. <v Speaker 1>Guess enchiladas are very good. <v Speaker 2>I guess they're very good. It's the greatest cameo we've <v Speaker 2>ever done. <v Speaker 1>It's so true. <v Speaker 2>Every time a very good every time he comes up. <v Speaker 2>That's how you know it's a great cameo. Every time <v Speaker 2>he comes up, someone quotes that. <v Speaker 1>Without it, I realized, and I've done marijuana. Of course, <v Speaker 1>wasn't a cameo but a testimony. <v Speaker 2>People pointed out how funny it was. <v Speaker 1>He posted that picture of him with cmpunk, who does <v Speaker 1>not do alcohol or marijuana. Yeah she a punk? Have <v Speaker 1>you ever done alcohol or marijuana? I've done both. Does <v Speaker 1>seem stand for Timmy Changa's and Margarita's. I love a <v Speaker 1>good Chimmy Changa with a marg oh a marg oh god, <v Speaker 1>superfly Chimmy snooker or just superfly Chimmy Changa? Brother? What <v Speaker 1>ye Look? <v Speaker 2>What I put it past WCW to put a jobber <v Speaker 2>in the ring called Jimmy Changa. <v Speaker 1>No, I wouldn't they. Honestly, I'm surprised that they didn't <v Speaker 1>do like a Jimmy Jonga. <v Speaker 2>Yeah yeah yeah, like Olie like his Mexican Yeah right, <v Speaker 2>that's that's why you don't call him Jimmy Joga. <v Speaker 1>What is Mexican? Okay, just go sit down again. Of <v Speaker 1>course he's a Jimmy Jonga. So uhl. <v Speaker 2>Blue black and yellow ropes, Hello, glorious light blue canvas, <v Speaker 2>blue rape, and I'm totally fine with it. Yeah, opening contest, <v Speaker 2>Ron Simmons vers dis Later they lock up to the <v Speaker 2>corner and Dick's later puts the fist out, but Ron <v Speaker 2>Simmons hits him before he can swing. Jesse Ventura calls it. <v Speaker 1>A cheap shot. Yes. <v Speaker 2>Then Ron hits the atomic drop and Ventura to cries <v Speaker 2>the lack of a clean break there from Simmons. <v Speaker 1>M that's not like. <v Speaker 2>Him, he says, so apparently, Yeah, Ron Simmons bending the <v Speaker 2>ethics and the rules more than w w nuncs are <v Speaker 2>accustomed to. <v Speaker 1>In the early going. <v Speaker 2>Lock up at a single pick up by Dix Slater <v Speaker 2>twisting at the ankle of Simmons, Simmons slaps the mat <v Speaker 2>and taps because this is before tapping signal bard mission <v Speaker 2>meant anything, kicks him off, and then Dix later comes <v Speaker 2>off the ropes into a monkey flip by Ron Simmons, <v Speaker 2>and there's a one armed body slam by the Floridian <v Speaker 2>and then a flying shoulder tackle for two, and Dix <v Speaker 2>later takes a powder as Simmons is starting to really <v Speaker 2>pile on the punishment. Tony says, Ron Simmons beat paul <v Speaker 2>O and doorf on WCW Saturday Night simply after a <v Speaker 2>ten minute time limit ran out. He got the pin <v Speaker 2>and Jesse just jumps right in. That's so, that means <v Speaker 2>he really didn't lose. <v Speaker 1>Because Hevanni, because you never got pinned during the time limit. <v Speaker 2>Time limits exist for a reason, Shavanni, Are you gonna <v Speaker 2>say they don't matter anymore? <v Speaker 1>Hey? Do you want me to kick you in the balls? <v Speaker 1>That was Oney to note to say, well, he also <v Speaker 1>didn't know well, Jesse also kind of didn't know how <v Speaker 1>to pronounce the town that they're in when Dick Slater <v Speaker 1>took that little powder his way. <v Speaker 6>Inside the regular it's all going for the Florida State <v Speaker 6>former football sty Ron Simmons kick Slader smart enough to <v Speaker 6>jump off in the floor, talk a little bit with pistol. <v Speaker 6>Wonderful and take some abuse from the fans here in <v Speaker 6>nor Fork. <v Speaker 1>Here at nor Fork. That's awesome, I mean, was he was? <v Speaker 1>He eating a slice of pizza or turkey leg or <v Speaker 1>something almost definitely Shavadi, I got you know what, here's <v Speaker 1>the problem. I'm eating food with nor fork. They said <v Speaker 1>your fork. If it was the impact zone, he'd be <v Speaker 1>eating a turkey leg. I can tell you that, you <v Speaker 1>know what, I don't have a spoon nor fork. <v Speaker 2>Sounds like you're not eating, Jess, So I wonder if <v Speaker 2>kept getting. <v Speaker 1>Hey, being born in Minnesota, sometimes I get down and <v Speaker 1>dirty with my hands. <v Speaker 2>Do you know the Somalian cuisine is eatable for your hand? <v Speaker 2>Do you know anything about Somalia? Do you know anything <v Speaker 2>about the United States government's intrave in Somalia? Have you <v Speaker 2>ever seen Blackhawk down? Well, that's just the tip of <v Speaker 2>the iceberg in terms of our interventions. <v Speaker 1>Hey, that's just the tip of the iceberg. <v Speaker 2>Lettuce, Iceberg and Somalia, Huh they go together, Jess. Do <v Speaker 2>you know that our government basically installed a Patsy leadership <v Speaker 2>regime in that country? Do you know that there are okay, Jess, please, <v Speaker 2>why I find this. <v Speaker 1>Guy to raws? Hey, triple h Do you how familiar <v Speaker 1>are you with politics? <v Speaker 2>I'm really afraid to answer this question, Jess, I don't <v Speaker 2>know if you know about my father in law and <v Speaker 2>my mother in law. <v Speaker 1>But do you know what kind of do you know <v Speaker 1>that they don't serve real food? And certain governments across <v Speaker 1>the United States? <v Speaker 2>What you don't serve food in any government? What are <v Speaker 2>you talking about like school lunches? The government doesn't serve food? <v Speaker 1>What does that even mean? They don't serve food that <v Speaker 1>you can be with. Why can't Why doesn't the government serve? <v Speaker 2>Now that's a platform he can win on by fellow <v Speaker 2>Americans to get government sponsored entriladas. I had to move <v Speaker 2>to the Baja. I could have been kept right here. <v Speaker 2>We talk about tax breaks for billionaires. We talk about <v Speaker 2>relocating and redomesticating in Texas to avoid taxes. I would <v Speaker 2>have stayed in this country altogether if I could have <v Speaker 2>gotten some free chimney changas from the government. <v Speaker 1>If I'm elected president of the United States of America, <v Speaker 1>I promise this that the government will indeed provide cuisine <v Speaker 1>for every single person living in this great country of ours. <v Speaker 2>A chicken in every pot, just updated, A chicken in <v Speaker 2>every pot with guac. <v Speaker 1>A chicken at every pot shredded with guacamole. A shredded <v Speaker 1>chicken in every pot. That's right, That's exactly right. Uh, <v Speaker 1>can I have the salad bowl? Can I have a <v Speaker 1>rice bowl with chicken? The this is my wife. I'm <v Speaker 1>gonna have the chicken. Yeah, I always get the chicken. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>fuck off, get the steak. So Loren Dorf kept getting <v Speaker 1>decued trying to keep the title. That was his bag <v Speaker 1>at the time, and Jesse Ventur justifies that because that's <v Speaker 1>the champion's prerogative, right, that's the hout the champ gets. <v Speaker 2>You gotta beat him in the first ten minutes. If it <v Speaker 2>goes ten minutes and three seconds, you don't get the <v Speaker 2>TV title. <v Speaker 1>He says, being the champion, the idea of being a champions, <v Speaker 1>You've got a few more luxuries in life. Exactly, that's <v Speaker 1>an advantage afforded the champion. Trevan, I'm living high as <v Speaker 1>the champion. I'm the champion of the commentary team. How <v Speaker 1>does that make you feel? <v Speaker 2>Chevani He automatically as he automatically lays down a fact <v Speaker 2>pattern and then ask someone how it makes them feel. <v Speaker 2>It's like it's a fantasy fact patter. So I don't <v Speaker 2>know how it makes me feel because it's not true. <v Speaker 1>And he goes. <v Speaker 2>Like well, if you were the tell you mean to <v Speaker 2>tell me? Tony doesn't say this, I'm making this up. <v Speaker 2>Do you mean to tell me, Tony that if you <v Speaker 2>were the World Television Champion, you would exempt yourself from <v Speaker 2>the advantages afforded a champion. You would allow your title <v Speaker 2>to change hands on a disqualification. <v Speaker 1>Do you know what that would do to the entire <v Speaker 1>platform that we have for all the champions here in <v Speaker 1>WCW platform. <v Speaker 2>He's insufferable and he says a lot of people are <v Speaker 2>ornery over Piro. <v Speaker 1>I got this because this was fucking hilarious, especially because <v Speaker 1>Shavanni's an idiot here. It's never heard of this word. <v Speaker 6>You're gonna beat a champion. In the case of mister <v Speaker 6>wonderful Paul orn Norf, you gotta beat him in the <v Speaker 6>first ten minutes of the match. If it goes ten <v Speaker 6>minutes three seconds, you don't get the TV title exact simple, <v Speaker 6>And a lot of people are ornry over that. That's <v Speaker 6>the rules. <v Speaker 1>Ornery. <v Speaker 7>Where'd you come up with that word? <v Speaker 6>You've never heard of the word ornery, Not from. <v Speaker 2>You, Tony. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, Jesse. That's another way of him saying, no, I've <v Speaker 1>never heard the word ornery. Yes. By the way, Ron. <v Speaker 2>Simmons tries a sunset flip and Dix later slaps him. <v Speaker 2>Simmons comes up swinging and just even tared to cries <v Speaker 2>the closed fist of Ron Simmons. Simmons goes for a <v Speaker 2>three point stance, but Paul Orndorff grabs his ankle from <v Speaker 2>ringside and then allows Dix later to blindside him. Dix <v Speaker 2>later now popping the jab and a right hand, drops <v Speaker 2>to Ron Simmons. Now Dix later with a swinging neck <v Speaker 2>breaker that gets what's that far? Quad's hurting? Yeses on <v Speaker 2>the defensive here as Dix Lader gets a two count. <v Speaker 2>Paul and Dorff now jumps up in the apron, protesting <v Speaker 2>the cadence of the Count. I suppose whatever he's doing, <v Speaker 2>he's providing a distraction. <v Speaker 1>That should be the name of a fucking like a <v Speaker 1>like a WWE Network special or Cadence of the Count. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that sounds like something Matt Camp would have hosted. <v Speaker 2>Absolutely welcome to Cadence of the Count. So Ron Simmons <v Speaker 2>throws a bunch of punches. It goes for a body slam, <v Speaker 2>but Dix later drops behind Simmons ducks the line of <v Speaker 2>of Dix Slater and then lifts and drops him with <v Speaker 2>a big power slam. Of course that was his Patenton move. <v Speaker 2>The movie used to take this strap off Vader one, <v Speaker 2>two and three. Ron Simmons defeats Dix Slater in three <v Speaker 2>minutes and fifty six seconds to get us started here <v Speaker 2>at Clash of the Champions twenty three, does that little <v Speaker 2>football run in place that drill you do? <v Speaker 1>You know? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, remind you that he's a man of the gridiron. <v Speaker 2>But without number one football Mark Bill wattson number two <v Speaker 2>football Mark Jim Ross in the corner office, it doesn't <v Speaker 2>means much anymore. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>If you want to win over Eric, like football one, <v Speaker 2>over those guys, you gotta have like a a kmart, <v Speaker 2>karate black. <v Speaker 1>Belt actually martial arts. Right, just take a yeah, go <v Speaker 1>buy go buy a robe right at uh you know <v Speaker 1>wall and just take the belt off and put it <v Speaker 1>around your waist and Eric and Eric Bischoff will will <v Speaker 1>have an orgasm. You're tough guy. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>At this point, Ron simmons hair is frayed at the <v Speaker 2>sides and it's problematic, makes it look ridiculous. <v Speaker 1>I mean Ron Simmons' hair in WCW at this period <v Speaker 1>was problematic in general. <v Speaker 2>Did we play the finish? I think Jesse says legal <v Speaker 2>press as he watches Ron Simmons, get the cover. <v Speaker 1>Get the legal press. I've seen people do illegal pressures <v Speaker 1>and still get the wind Chavani legal press. Would that <v Speaker 1>be what Lawyer's Weekly? I heard Vince McMahon's taking a <v Speaker 1>legal press as we speak, speaking of a paid media <v Speaker 1>hotlines on the Oh Boy on Order, although the phone <v Speaker 1>number is no longer active according to Peacock. So so <v Speaker 1>I love this. If you if you call the hot line, <v Speaker 1>you can listen to the recap of the Class show, <v Speaker 1>which is It's like, but you're watching the show already. <v Speaker 2>It's not hard to just say hear from Sting. You <v Speaker 2>have to That's all you have to do, right like <v Speaker 2>he could record it four months ago. Don't just say, No, <v Speaker 2>one's gonna call the recap a show they watched obviously <v Speaker 2>to know to call what were we talking about? Recap <v Speaker 2>the show? <v Speaker 1>Why? Why would I be interested in recapping the show? <v Speaker 1>I mean, yes, I suppose that there may be there <v Speaker 1>were certainly some people who watched the first couple of <v Speaker 1>matches and then you know, maybe they had to go <v Speaker 1>you know, to bed or something I don't know, or <v Speaker 1>or they had an emergency call, or I don't know, <v Speaker 1>they were making dinner. I don't know. But it's like <v Speaker 1>the majority of people are watching the show from beginning <v Speaker 1>to end. Who gives a shit about the recap? <v Speaker 2>So stupid, and they're not even offering value. Add they're <v Speaker 2>not even offering like you know, hear from the wrestlers <v Speaker 2>after they win. <v Speaker 1>Or lose or something like that. It's so poor. I <v Speaker 1>don't get it. <v Speaker 2>You know what they should have done is put Brian <v Speaker 2>Pillman in coitus on on the hotline. <v Speaker 1>Yes, yes, I think that would have been fantastic. So yes. <v Speaker 2>In nine cents a minute, kids get your parents' permission. <v Speaker 2>Beach blast, big gnarly graphic with waves and Bischoff talking here, <v Speaker 2>and we see that Bischoff is along with Larry's Abisco <v Speaker 2>and that old gen Oakerland marathon taping stage area. <v Speaker 1>Can I tell you for some reason for the first <v Speaker 1>time ever? And I don't know, maybe I haven't seen <v Speaker 1>too many too many WCW shows where Bischoff and Zibisco <v Speaker 1>are side by side, but Larry's Abisco could be Eric <v Speaker 1>Bischoff's uncle. Yeah, easily like his dirty uncle. Fascinating. I <v Speaker 1>never thought of that, you know, like just the way <v Speaker 1>they they have similar kind of voices and you know, <v Speaker 1>like like the vocal quality to their voices, like it's <v Speaker 1>very it's very bizarre. Like I was like, holy shit, <v Speaker 1>they really seem they feel like they're related here. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that was a relationship that paid off for Larry Man. <v Speaker 2>I mean that extended his earning years by like ten years. <v Speaker 2>He obviously befriended Eric when he was working ABA and <v Speaker 2>was married to Verne sis Vern's daughter, and Bischoff is <v Speaker 2>working as an announcer. Bischoff comes over, Larry kind of <v Speaker 2>comes separate from him. But Greg was there. Greg Gania <v Speaker 2>was there at WCW's as an office guy and an agent. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>he's just hitting around running from there and of course <v Speaker 2>became a voice of Nitro. Bischoff really liked him as <v Speaker 2>a broadcaster Zibisco and looking ahead to the show, says <v Speaker 2>that two Cold Scorpio is an amazing athlete. Here, I've <v Speaker 2>got this, I've got this leading into Buffer. So I <v Speaker 2>don't know if you have anything to say about Buffer <v Speaker 2>before I play the hole. Oh go right ahead, all right, <v Speaker 2>here we go. <v Speaker 1>You know, two. <v Speaker 8>Cold Scorpio is an amazing athlete. Eric, He's got everything <v Speaker 8>it takes, very. <v Speaker 1>Which also has a little bit of Donald Trump quality <v Speaker 1>to his voice. <v Speaker 8>Sure, and them has one attribute this young man does not, <v Speaker 8>and that's experience. <v Speaker 1>Now that reminds me of. <v Speaker 8>An old Polish proverb, which translated basically says, as the <v Speaker 8>young and the useless ride that wave of life to destiny. <v Speaker 8>They realized they're merely a first class passenger on the <v Speaker 8>ship of fools. <v Speaker 1>Can you stop this? <v Speaker 2>Stop that tactic title that, Larry, have some respect for yourself? <v Speaker 2>What the fuck is that supposed to mean? <v Speaker 1>There's an old Polish proverb? <v Speaker 2>No, there's just an old Polish man in my television. <v Speaker 2>I know you think I'm just a dumb pollock right right? <v Speaker 2>Only with that, I mean what as the young and <v Speaker 2>the useless, which it was supposed to be funny because <v Speaker 2>it's young and the restless, right, yes, so he's trying <v Speaker 2>to say what that too, Cold Scorpio is the young <v Speaker 2>and the useless ride that wave of life to destiny <v Speaker 2>just makes me throw up in my mouth. <v Speaker 1>Yeah it should. It should. They realized they're really a <v Speaker 1>first class passenger on a ship of fools. Well, I <v Speaker 1>mean it's WCW nine ninety three, So yeah, the ship <v Speaker 1>of fools. <v Speaker 2>Indeed, does it mean to be at first class passengers? <v Speaker 2>You don't ride a wave on a ship, I guess you. <v Speaker 1>Well, yeah you do kind of ride away. Yeah, I <v Speaker 1>hate it. I don't know. They just pissed me up. <v Speaker 1>It was so it was so fake, like profound. You know, <v Speaker 1>I'll guarantee you it's a bullshit thing. Anyway, I wouldn't <v Speaker 1>might know. I don't. <v Speaker 2>I think it's an actual proverb at all. But what <v Speaker 2>he says has no applicability to what is being talked about. Like, <v Speaker 2>I don't know where in his mind he connected that <v Speaker 2>word salad with two gold scorpio versus Barry Windham. <v Speaker 1>I don't know. I guess, I guess maybe because I <v Speaker 1>think it's I think I think what he's getting at <v Speaker 1>is the youth versus the experience. <v Speaker 2>That's a hell of a way to get there. Man, <v Speaker 2>Sometimes you need polish proverbs. That is a circuitous route. <v Speaker 2>I'll take the gumpky instead, thank you very much. So that, <v Speaker 2>like you said, now, at this point, Eric Brushoff brings <v Speaker 2>Michael Buffer onto the screen for what we believed to <v Speaker 2>be the first time. Yes, WCW up near the announced <v Speaker 2>position and a bow tie. <v Speaker 1>This is like rare. <v Speaker 2>Michael Buffer, as you know, a human right as a <v Speaker 2>guest on the show is supposed to just the right announcer, right, <v Speaker 2>a character almost They talked about how he's fresh off <v Speaker 2>the Morrison versus Foreman fight and he's asked to compare <v Speaker 2>boxing the WCW and of course. <v Speaker 1>I got it for here. <v Speaker 2>Michael Buffer has a lot to say about that, Yes <v Speaker 2>he does. <v Speaker 1>Should I want to. <v Speaker 6>Bring in the man that is going to be the <v Speaker 6>guest ring announcer. <v Speaker 4>Good friend of mine, mister Michael. <v Speaker 8>Glad to have you here, Good to be here, Michael, <v Speaker 8>you're fresh off. <v Speaker 6>The Morrison Foreman fight just about a week and a <v Speaker 6>half ago. <v Speaker 2>If you've had an opportunity to call some of the <v Speaker 2>biggest professional. <v Speaker 6>Boxing, how would you compare boxing to the action here <v Speaker 6>in WCW. <v Speaker 5>I think the action here and the fans here. The <v Speaker 5>fans are part of the action, the fans especially right <v Speaker 5>here at the scope. <v Speaker 1>And so what are fans when it comes to boxing? <v Speaker 1>I don't understand they don't cheer the. <v Speaker 2>Part of the action, Okay, because the action's real codered <v Speaker 2>have to. <v Speaker 1>Uh, I suppose that's true. <v Speaker 2>Whose crowd response is is a litmus test for success. <v Speaker 5>Or Folk Virginia. I've worked here before when Brunell. <v Speaker 1>Whitaker was there. They're the best fans in the world. <v Speaker 6>All Right, we talked a little bit about the NWA <v Speaker 6>title match. <v Speaker 8>I want to get your opinion on the World Tag <v Speaker 8>Team title contest. <v Speaker 5>You've got Rick Flair, arn Anderson taking on the Hollywood Blondes. <v Speaker 1>What's your opinion. <v Speaker 5>You've got the Hollywood Blondes. They're young, they've got speed, <v Speaker 5>they've got strength. <v Speaker 1>Strength. That's s t R E N T h H. <v Speaker 2>He can pronounce it whatever way he wants. He's Michael Buffer, <v Speaker 2>for God's sake. Strength strength, strength, strength. <v Speaker 5>But I think I'm going to have to go with experience. <v Speaker 5>You've got that wisdom, the power that the two men have. <v Speaker 5>Arn Anderson a legendary family, and you've got that nine <v Speaker 5>time world champion and Rick Flair. <v Speaker 4>I got to go with the veterans. <v Speaker 1>Good for him for knowing that Flair is a nine <v Speaker 1>time champion. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, he actually came out there and said some things <v Speaker 2>that would make the wrestling fan think he might actually <v Speaker 2>I don't know deserve to be here. <v Speaker 1>Actually serve is the wrong word. Well, well it might <v Speaker 1>actually be interested in the product. <v Speaker 2>Right that he's not here to collect a paycheck, that <v Speaker 2>he's here because he kind of likes wrestling and that's <v Speaker 2>really why he's doing the job. So yeah, I think <v Speaker 2>a good first appearance here for Michael Buffer in a <v Speaker 2>wrestling contexture and again a move I really liked that <v Speaker 2>Eric made. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, definitely, I mean, despite whatever the you know, this <v Speaker 1>rating was, it definitely added. Buffer being on the show's <v Speaker 1>added quite a bit. <v Speaker 2>And of first, right after that they switched to Garry <v Speaker 2>Michael Kapetta, who, of course, as we already read, noted <v Speaker 2>that he started to notice Bischoff setting out direction that <v Speaker 2>would significantly cut down the amount of times you would <v Speaker 2>see competit. I don't think we even see his face <v Speaker 2>once on this broadcast, which is so telling it being <v Speaker 2>the one we first see Michael Buffer. <v Speaker 1>But do we want Michael No? <v Speaker 2>No, I mean, the only person that would care as him. <v Speaker 2>But to him, that's like a signal that you know, <v Speaker 2>he's being phased out, which is a fair read of <v Speaker 2>the situation and turned out to be accurate. <v Speaker 1>Took a while, but he's not really being phased out. <v Speaker 1>I mean, it's just that Buffer's there for main events. <v Speaker 1>Buffer's there for main events, That's right, you know, I <v Speaker 1>was telling Buffer calls the entire show no, not. <v Speaker 2>Even close, and he stays around long enough because they <v Speaker 2>still need somebody. And then Penzer comes in, but the <v Speaker 2>next match is set for one folly lets us know, <v Speaker 2>and coming to the ring boss for how many more <v Speaker 2>times have to hear this? Watching a WCW television from <v Speaker 2>back then, the WCW magazine Rookie of the Year Marcus <v Speaker 2>Alexander Backwell. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, so so okay, So he debuted in ninety one, <v Speaker 1>it's ninety three, so he's been Rookie of the Year <v Speaker 1>for fucking two years, it would appear, so, I mean, <v Speaker 1>I don't don't understand how he used this perennial Rookie <v Speaker 1>of the Year. <v Speaker 2>They did a WW magazine nineteen ninety two awards and <v Speaker 2>they they christened him Rookie of the Year. <v Speaker 1>They did his rookie year was in ninety one. That's funny. <v Speaker 2>I have the article here from the magazine a rookie. <v Speaker 2>A rookies year can't necessarily be measured by the titles <v Speaker 2>he's won or the wrestlers he's defeated. I thought I <v Speaker 2>was going to say a rookie year can't necessarily be <v Speaker 2>measured by twelve calendar months. In most cases, a rookie <v Speaker 2>must be measured by what he attempted, the courage he displayed, <v Speaker 2>and the potential he showed. Over the past twelve months. <v Speaker 2>Marcus Alexander Bagwell went up against the top wrestlers in <v Speaker 2>the world, aligned himself with the right people, and set <v Speaker 2>himself up for a tremendous future. <v Speaker 1>A Russian gohead. What I don't understand. They literally just <v Speaker 1>said a rookie doesn't need to be A rookie year <v Speaker 1>doesn't need to be What did it say at the beginning? <v Speaker 1>I made that up? Oh, okay, all right. <v Speaker 2>What it actually says is a rookies year can't necessarily <v Speaker 2>be measured by the titles he's won or the wrestlers <v Speaker 2>he's defeated. <v Speaker 1>That's what it says. And then I. <v Speaker 2>Added, oh the time, yeah, okay, to speak to what <v Speaker 2>you were saying. Quote, a rookie can really get lost <v Speaker 2>in WCW unless he asserts himself, wrote insightful WSW fan <v Speaker 2>Terry Brennan of Jacksonville, Florida, who I'm sure exists. The <v Speaker 2>trick is not to bite off too much, but to <v Speaker 2>still do enough to get yourself noticed. Look, by the <v Speaker 2>end of the year, Bagwell was ten times better than <v Speaker 2>he was at the start of the year. <v Speaker 1>That in and of. <v Speaker 2>Itself is amazing and amazing accomplishment. So that is the <v Speaker 2>fans are voting, so that you like interview the fans <v Speaker 2>about why they voted. <v Speaker 1>For But again, he debuted. You can't be Rookie of <v Speaker 1>the Year in ninety two if you debuted in ninety one. <v Speaker 1>Absolutely agree. It is disqualifying. If you ask me, I <v Speaker 1>don't care, you know, because yeah, sorry, it's just not <v Speaker 1>It's just not. <v Speaker 2>Bagbell's schedule of opponents would impress anyone. And one recent <v Speaker 2>and difficult week, Bagwell lost to Vinnie Vegas, the Barbarian <v Speaker 2>and kens Kai Sasaki. In each match, however, Bagwell wrestled <v Speaker 2>well enough to win. He didn't win, but that's part <v Speaker 2>of the learning experience too. What so wait, so he <v Speaker 2>lost and so the game Rookie of the Year. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>essentially he wrestled well enough to win. Well, you tell <v Speaker 2>me the difference between losing and wrestling well enough to <v Speaker 2>win I mean, wrestling well enough to win actually isn't good. <v Speaker 1>Enough, right, It's called losing. You got to wrestle to win. <v Speaker 1>You actually have to wrestle and win, not wrestle good <v Speaker 1>enough to win to potentially win. You wrestle and you win. <v Speaker 1>That's what That's what separates the men from the boys. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, can we at least decide that a baseline criteria <v Speaker 2>for Rookie of the Year is a guy who won <v Speaker 2>matches in the year. <v Speaker 1>Right, one more and he lost? Perhaps that would be insane. <v Speaker 1>What do you think you were? You a mark for <v Speaker 1>like statistics? Now, well, I'm a mark for for for <v Speaker 1>actually getting their fucking Rookie of the year correct and <v Speaker 1>not calling somebody also rookie of the year, you know, <v Speaker 1>the year after. Anyway, keep going. <v Speaker 2>I may not have won any titles so far, but <v Speaker 2>I really feel I've had a great year. Bag wells, <v Speaker 2>and I want to sincerely thank the fans two years <v Speaker 2>for acknowledging my efforts. I made a big decision when <v Speaker 2>I came to this federation, a big gamble, but I <v Speaker 2>think it's paid off. I guess the most gratifying part <v Speaker 2>is the support I've received from the fans Heck, I <v Speaker 2>couldn't have gotten through this year without them. The best <v Speaker 2>part about Bagwell was he was that he wrestled, wrote <v Speaker 2>Dina James of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He decided to get his <v Speaker 2>experience in the ring, which meant there were some difficult nights. <v Speaker 2>Hey I saw where no one says hey like that <v Speaker 2>in a letter or in a quote, like they're clearly <v Speaker 2>making these up. Hey, I saw where one night he <v Speaker 2>teamed with Robbie Walker against the Barbarian and Tony Atlas. <v Speaker 2>That's a tough task for an inexperienced kid. I guess <v Speaker 2>the fans got behind him because we knew he needed us. <v Speaker 2>He didn't let us down. This guy's going to be <v Speaker 2>one of the great ones Championship gold and all. I <v Speaker 2>don't think it's going to take him too much longer <v Speaker 2>to get there. <v Speaker 1>Uh, that's true. He'd be champion by the he'd be <v Speaker 1>tie champion by September. <v Speaker 2>I think, and this this whole thing, we joke about it, <v Speaker 2>but it would define Marcus Bagwell's wrestling career. This idea <v Speaker 2>that he was the rookie of the Year, and that <v Speaker 2>that implanted in him a certain sense of like where <v Speaker 2>his trajectory. Yeah, and he'd first he'd voiced frustration when <v Speaker 2>he felt like, you know, he was coming off that <v Speaker 2>course because they were telling him from the beginning that <v Speaker 2>he had it made. And then all of a sudden, <v Speaker 2>you know, something would happen where he'd be booked unfavorably. <v Speaker 2>We're booked to lose in a situation where he thought <v Speaker 2>he was finally going to take a springboard up the <v Speaker 2>card and he complained about it. Then he got the <v Speaker 2>attitude of being a pain in the the reputation I <v Speaker 2>should say about being a pain in the ass from <v Speaker 2>an attitude perspective, which he was, but you know, even <v Speaker 2>talked about it in the Greed episode and how that <v Speaker 2>led to the temper tantrum agains Shaan o'haron Chuck Palumbo <v Speaker 2>that the temper tantrum that wasn't, of course right in <v Speaker 2>all fairness to him, But yeah, that's the story of <v Speaker 2>his whole career. Remember, I was a Rookie of the <v Speaker 2>Year and look where I am now. You know, Marcus, <v Speaker 2>it's a fake thing, right, it doesn't matter. I mean, <v Speaker 2>they bought the world title on you. The company would <v Speaker 2>have shut down, right, And I also think I could <v Speaker 2>be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that there was never <v Speaker 2>any other Rookie of the Year award. I don't know <v Speaker 2>about that, because again I've never heard them. I only <v Speaker 2>hear them talk about him being a rookie year. It's <v Speaker 2>like it's his gimmick. It's it's not a WCW magazine feature. <v Speaker 2>It's a gimmick for a wrestler. So they put it <v Speaker 2>in the magazine, right, exactly, the Rookie of the Year <v Speaker 2>a gimmick. <v Speaker 1>So it's fine, right because again I feel like it <v Speaker 1>lasted until like ninety five, right. I know that we've <v Speaker 1>heard them talk him being called the Rookie of the <v Speaker 1>Year beyond this, Yeah, like it's ridiculous Tai comedy that <v Speaker 1>he debuts in ninety one and they're talking about his <v Speaker 1>ninety three Rookie of the Year award in ninety five. Right, <v Speaker 1>But now that we've gotten that out of the way, <v Speaker 1>I think you know what time it is because his <v Speaker 1>opponent is also a debuting Lord Stephen Regal, And my god, <v Speaker 1>I mean, we did it on stage in Philadelphia, or <v Speaker 1>you did it more accurately on stage in Philadelphia, and <v Speaker 1>I think it's you don't talk about Regals w W <v Speaker 1>TV debut, or at least his live TV debut. I mean, <v Speaker 1>I think it's important. What don't love anything on the table? <v Speaker 9>Yes, boom boom. <v Speaker 1>Let's go. <v Speaker 2>In my notes it says Regal theme music, and under <v Speaker 2>there in all caps it says, let's fucking go. <v Speaker 1>I'll tell you it's so funny. Yeah, it is one <v Speaker 1>of like the great w c W themes. It really is, <v Speaker 1>it really is. It's so it's it's it's so awesome. <v Speaker 1>I oh god, it's so great. So Regally. <v Speaker 2>Like they ted Regal into the music generator, you know, right, <v Speaker 2>residing in a summer home in the town of Blackpool. <v Speaker 2>We're told winging an eighteen stone with Sir William. Of course, <v Speaker 2>Bill Dundee, who worked in the office as an agent <v Speaker 2>at the time with Cape on Lord Stephen Regal jesse <v Speaker 2>Mentor absolutely loves Lord Stephen. He's got clean fingernails. <v Speaker 6>Right, I love this guy, Shavanni, Lord Stephen. <v Speaker 7>Why but he turned his nose up at everyone. <v Speaker 6>No, because he's got clean fingernails. That's hard to find <v Speaker 6>in Virginia. <v Speaker 9>That was really cheating. <v Speaker 1>That was really cheap. It's hard to find clean fingernails <v Speaker 1>in Virginia. Okay. <v Speaker 2>Every now and then Jesse will say something he sounds <v Speaker 2>ten years outdated, you know what I mean. <v Speaker 1>Yes he does, Yes, he does. He's got like a <v Speaker 1>he's got like a book you know of and it's like, <v Speaker 1>you know, you got a you gotta rip some pages <v Speaker 1>out there, Jess. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, like insulting, like the fans as being like dirty. <v Speaker 2>It's like that's kind of I don't know, that's kind <v Speaker 2>of over by now. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, the uh I love that they go in the <v Speaker 1>story of I guess I didn't. I didn't know this <v Speaker 1>that that that Regal was a baby face when he <v Speaker 1>first came in like just a few months prior. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 1>it's kind of weird. And then he turned into this <v Speaker 1>not too not too long before this show. I guess, yes, <v Speaker 1>it was. <v Speaker 2>He was part of a wave of guys that they <v Speaker 2>brought in Finlay To and others that they started a <v Speaker 2>source as they went over to Europe for some of <v Speaker 2>those successful tours we talked about, which they kind of <v Speaker 2>kicked in a gear in ninety two and ninety three, <v Speaker 2>and pretty soon they would have so many guys with <v Speaker 2>like this style that they were talking about a tough <v Speaker 2>man division. Yeah, with guys that could, uh, you know, <v Speaker 2>exchange toe holds and things. So Ventura says that look <v Speaker 2>at the specs on Sir William, are those reading glasses? <v Speaker 2>He says, Regal didn't tell anyone he was a blue <v Speaker 2>blood when he came in here. He wanted to see <v Speaker 2>how the commoners lived at first. That's a reference. What <v Speaker 2>you're saying, yeah, take a break, we come back live <v Speaker 2>is underlined. What a feeling man, Uh huh when you <v Speaker 2>could sit down and watch live wrestling on cable in <v Speaker 2>nineteen ninety three, Jesus Christ, take me so great? Give <v Speaker 2>me my kid cuisine please? <v Speaker 1>Oh seriously? Or pizzao? Sure? <v Speaker 2>Where's that piping hot apple sauce? That fucking smoking brownie? <v Speaker 1>That's right, that's rights Bagwell? Can I ask you something? Yeah? <v Speaker 1>Is that Marcus Bagwell or is that Ben Affleck? <v Speaker 6>Oh? <v Speaker 1>Fuck, you beat me? <v Speaker 3>Do you set a bit? <v Speaker 1>Fuck? Is that Marcus Alexander Bagwell? <v Speaker 2>Or is that Ben Affleck getting duncan door dash from <v Speaker 2>his front door? I mean the guy, the hair, the <v Speaker 2>fate it is, did you say from. <v Speaker 1>Something in. <v Speaker 2>The guy looks exactly like Ben Affleck back. <v Speaker 1>Then he does? I mean, you know, like the fucking <v Speaker 1>hair and everything. It looks just like Ben Affleck in Marat. <v Speaker 1>We had to have told that joke before. I'm sure <v Speaker 1>we have, because he just looks exactly like they really does, <v Speaker 1>he really does. Like I just think about him and <v Speaker 1>Shannon Doherty and fucking Jason Lee and elevators. Ye. <v Speaker 2>I just want you to know that if you don't <v Speaker 2>go to LA, I'm gonna kick your ass. Kids are <v Speaker 2>gonna play Little League together. <v Speaker 1>No, no, no, you know what I dream. That's it. <v Speaker 1>I dream every day I go to your house, an <v Speaker 1>can you put that under the cinemat? Please? Can you <v Speaker 1>find a way? But I wonder if it's on we really, <v Speaker 1>I mean, if there's a movie that needs to be <v Speaker 1>on that's like my favorite movie. Seriously, it's so great <v Speaker 1>and it's so like and it's such a movie that <v Speaker 1>you know obviously hits close to home for New England. <v Speaker 1>Does Yeah, I have a whole story I can tell <v Speaker 1>about that movie. Really. Oh my god, it's not there yet, <v Speaker 1>but it's gonna be a way. I'm sure that they have. <v Speaker 1>Fucking somebody you heard a solar system. <v Speaker 2>The call is out. Find a wrestler in the movie <v Speaker 2>or wrestling connection to the movie and we'll be well <v Speaker 2>in our way. <v Speaker 1>If some indie promotion did a character that was like <v Speaker 1>that was Matt Damon and Goodwill Hunting, that'd be. <v Speaker 2>A that would be a very subtle presentation and take <v Speaker 2>people a long time to figure out what's going on there. <v Speaker 1>But you could do a heel. You could do a heel. <v Speaker 2>The guy that says you're going to be giving my <v Speaker 2>kids fries on our way to Aspen. <v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, oh for sure, that's a great heel right there. <v Speaker 1>That fucking I don't know, did Gus van zand ever <v Speaker 1>you know, do anything wrestling related? I don't know, did <v Speaker 1>you ever get in the ring? <v Speaker 2>So, Lord Stephen, this is his first live appearance in <v Speaker 2>the US, Tony Schavanni says, and so Ventura says, speaking <v Speaker 2>of dirty fingernails in Virginia, this is your former home state. <v Speaker 2>What town did you grow up in the hills? Was <v Speaker 2>it po Dunk? And Tony says, no, he grew up <v Speaker 2>in Craigsville, Virginia. As a matter of fact, there we <v Speaker 2>go lock up Stephen Ringle a single leg trip goes <v Speaker 2>to work on the arm, of course, But Marcus bag <v Speaker 2>Well quick to answer that Jase Ventura says he's an <v Speaker 2>aristocrat and he can't be something that way, he can't <v Speaker 2>be fighting him that way. I'm not sure what he <v Speaker 2>says here. Anyway, they exchange arm bringers and wristlocks and such, <v Speaker 2>and there are ringers and locks. Sounds like a British <v Speaker 2>dish that does indeed goes well with blood pudding. Briegle <v Speaker 2>does the thing where he rolls and uses his foot <v Speaker 2>to break free from the grip. Instead of you know, <v Speaker 2>wrenching his arm away, he kicks the hand off. <v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, yep, yep, I like that. <v Speaker 2>That's always always a good thing that he did that. <v Speaker 2>Others never really try to incorporate. Marcus Bagwell sticks with <v Speaker 2>it though into the hammer lock, but a regals able <v Speaker 2>to elbow out and hit a European uppercut. Johnny b Bad, <v Speaker 2>We're told once is bad Blaster back that story at nine? <v Speaker 1>What if what if a guy who did I mean <v Speaker 1>apparently there were stunts on Goodwill Hunting played a character <v Speaker 1>in a different movie that would eventually be inspire a wrestler. <v Speaker 1>Does that count? I mean, I think if you have <v Speaker 1>to ask me that, that's always the answer. Yeah. Well <v Speaker 1>sometimes sometimes sometimes, like I'm like, I don't know if <v Speaker 1>it's too loose or not. But you know, sometimes you're like, no, no, <v Speaker 1>that definitely, that definitely qualifies. <v Speaker 2>There's been a couple of times, but I don't know. <v Speaker 2>I leave it up to the solar system. I leave <v Speaker 2>it in their capable hands. If we figured out Eddie Coyle, <v Speaker 2>if we figured out It's a Wonderful Life, if we <v Speaker 2>figured out so many these hopeless movies, I have. <v Speaker 1>Faith there's gonna be something somebody, somebody here. <v Speaker 2>It had to have been something like an indie promotion, <v Speaker 2>did like like you said, yeah, some kind of character <v Speaker 2>that's inspired by the movie or something like that. <v Speaker 1>It was a manager who was based off the Robin <v Speaker 1>Williams character, or. <v Speaker 2>Even like maybe someone used one of the lines from <v Speaker 2>the movie It's not your fault, you know, yep in <v Speaker 2>a promo. <v Speaker 1>I mean I'm willing to take anything. Basically, Wait a minute, <v Speaker 1>didn't didn't Edge do something like that it's not your fault? <v Speaker 1>That was Jene Snitsky. Well, no, but I fucked I <v Speaker 1>thought Edge mimicked that whole scene for something really. <v Speaker 2>Like made somebody cry saying it wasn't their fault one <v Speaker 2>hundred times, or or. <v Speaker 1>Or or he was playing back he was playing Matt Damon. <v Speaker 1>I could be wrong. I feel like I remember so. <v Speaker 1>I don't know why I remember that, but I just <v Speaker 1>suddenly got the thing. Anyway, we'll get there going. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Maybe who's the British girl in that movie what's her name? Driver? <v Speaker 2>Maybe mini drivers? Like dad was a fucking Cumberland lawn <v Speaker 2>wrestler or something. <v Speaker 1>Maybe she was a valet in the There had to <v Speaker 1>have been a move in Japan called the mini driver, <v Speaker 1>and then but that was done by a little person wrestler, <v Speaker 1>and then the big the big person version had the <v Speaker 1>maxi driver. <v Speaker 2>Now the male wrestlers had the Mickey driver. All right, <v Speaker 2>Oh god, Marcus Bagwell an armoringer that sends regal flipping. <v Speaker 2>I don't know if you know this, but when you <v Speaker 2>twist William Rerigle's arm at the shoulder, it causes him <v Speaker 2>to do a spontaneous front flip. Of course, and that's <v Speaker 2>not the case with all wrestlers, no, but there's something <v Speaker 2>just about the kinks in his arm and the way <v Speaker 2>his musculature and sinews are connected that causes him to <v Speaker 2>flip forward. Yes, I love the idea. <v Speaker 1>You can twist on his arm so hard that they <v Speaker 1>front flip. It's just, yeah, they can't help, but like <v Speaker 1>they it's a it's a just a reaction from it. <v Speaker 1>Like not the only joint that Bagwell was going to <v Speaker 1>work on, from what I understand, No, especially when he <v Speaker 1>got with scorpio. The highest fly hair W's W had, <v Speaker 1>that's for sure. So Stephen Regal takes over on the <v Speaker 1>ropes with the European uppercut and then takes out the <v Speaker 1>knee with a chopped block h jesse Ventur says, he <v Speaker 1>can there's reference to a move called the Regal role, <v Speaker 1>and I don't remember what the Regal role was, but <v Speaker 1>they kind of make reference to it as if it's <v Speaker 1>his finishing move at the time. I think it comes on. <v Speaker 1>It comes with a side of on beans and toast <v Speaker 1>a sausage, Regal sausage role, that's right. Jesse Venturi says. <v Speaker 1>You can tell that Regal doesn't know anything about American football. <v Speaker 1>He doesn't know that was a clip in American football, <v Speaker 1>and that's because that's because American football is What's that? <v Speaker 1>That was a clip? Is that Vince saying that? When <v Speaker 1>did he say that? That's from Rumble ninety five? Play again. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>well we call him bite Vince. But I remember that <v Speaker 1>was like the as the remember road Dog did that <v Speaker 1>to raise Ramone and vinc mic Man acts like it <v Speaker 1>was the most dastardly deed ever done. You know, it's <v Speaker 1>so true because in football it is the most dastardly deed, <v Speaker 1>you know, sure, but the rest someone's knee like that. <v Speaker 2>How about a chair to the face, right, I know, <v Speaker 2>kind of a little worse. Yeah, I think what Max <v Speaker 2>Pain does to Johnny be Bad later is worse. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, for example. <v Speaker 2>But then Jesse goes into this whole thing about how <v Speaker 2>American football is a whimp game compared to rugby in <v Speaker 2>the UK anyway, and they have more pads in American <v Speaker 2>football than they do in rugby, and rugby's for rugged people. <v Speaker 2>And even Tina Turner said that, he says, she said <v Speaker 2>rugby's a real man's game apparently an interview about rugby. <v Speaker 1>Don't ask me, Hey, you know what, Regal's a real <v Speaker 1>man's man, Yeah, right, exactly. <v Speaker 2>So it leaned into that to say the least, so <v Speaker 2>a rego with a snap mare on Marcus Bagwell, and <v Speaker 2>while he did it, he did it so close to <v Speaker 2>the ropes that Marcus's legs slapped off the rope, which <v Speaker 2>was a sound psychology. We we, for some reason, really <v Speaker 2>like it in wrestling when someone is working the legs <v Speaker 2>and slammed someone when their legs hit the ropes. That <v Speaker 2>always works. Yes, working the leg over driving the knee. <v Speaker 2>Of the matter is Regal. Uh Tony talks about the <v Speaker 2>first time he saw Steve Regal on w W Saturday <v Speaker 2>Night as a Regal goes for a low ankle pick <v Speaker 2>in the middle of the ring and cranks it. They <v Speaker 2>make reference to this, but it doesn't really thread through <v Speaker 2>the episode. There waste in this. The search for Cactus <v Speaker 2>Jack is on boss Oh, yes, not to go, and <v Speaker 2>a diversion about this because that the time will come eventually. <v Speaker 2>But you know what this is, right, I. <v Speaker 1>Know about it. I don't know. I'm not like two <v Speaker 1>from I'm not crazy familiar with it, but I'm I'm <v Speaker 1>I'm somewhat familiar with the whole deal. <v Speaker 2>He's lost in Cleveland and he had amnesia because Vader <v Speaker 2>power bombed him on the concrete. <v Speaker 1>It was. <v Speaker 2>It's sort of the same category as like the Sharon <v Speaker 2>Sidelo directed Exploding Boat mini movie. <v Speaker 1>So it's quality that's what you're saying, right, It's. <v Speaker 2>Just these total like diversions where they try to be <v Speaker 2>bring movie magic to w CW, and it's it goes <v Speaker 2>down in infamy. People made fun of it then and <v Speaker 2>make fun of it to this day. So stupid it is. <v Speaker 2>It's shorthand for wrestling. Stupidity lost in Cleveland. But at <v Speaker 2>the time he was still missing, still wandering the landscape <v Speaker 2>because he had hurt his head. And and Ventura says, <v Speaker 2>who would go to Cleveland of their own free will? <v Speaker 2>And I'm thinking WWE. Yeah, a lot of a lot <v Speaker 2>of companies do. Went up at SummerSlam. So Marcus Bagwell <v Speaker 2>builds up to his feet one foot, gets caught on <v Speaker 2>a kick attempt. Then he throws an inzaguri and that <v Speaker 2>clip's Regal and gets a pop irish. <v Speaker 1>Whippon clip you see Tony. Tony calls Regal one of <v Speaker 1>the most accomplished wrestlers anywhere. You know, he hadn't won <v Speaker 1>any championships at all. He hadn't doed a live match <v Speaker 1>yet in America. But not only that, but even in <v Speaker 1>in the UK he hadn't won anything. He was I mean, <v Speaker 1>he wrestled for a while. You know, but he hadn't <v Speaker 1>accomplished shit. So what did he accomplish? How's he accomplished? <v Speaker 1>I guess maybe he had a good win loss record. <v Speaker 1>That seems stupid. <v Speaker 2>That's thing about a international star. You bring him in <v Speaker 2>or international wrestler, you bring him in, you can tell <v Speaker 2>the people anything you want about what they achieved back home, <v Speaker 2>especially back then. Right, so this history lands it's all bullshit. <v Speaker 2>I writ you at bagwell drops or a backdrop, but <v Speaker 2>knows Steve Rigal dives on the ankle again and goes <v Speaker 2>right back to work. <v Speaker 1>Great spot there. I love. <v Speaker 2>I love going for the leg when a guy, yes, <v Speaker 2>you know, exposes himself trying to a move. <v Speaker 1>I've said it. I've said it a million times since <v Speaker 1>we've been doing the laps fan. But ever since I <v Speaker 1>heard and this is years ago now we're talking probably <v Speaker 1>I don't know, eight seven, eight years ago when I <v Speaker 1>heard Regal go on Jericho's podcast and hearing him, hearing <v Speaker 1>how he would decide, how he would listen to the crowd, <v Speaker 1>look at the crowd, see what the audience was, and <v Speaker 1>help that determine what his match was going to be <v Speaker 1>like and how he would perform. I have so I <v Speaker 1>mean it literally was a light switch in terms of <v Speaker 1>my respect for Regal. Wow, completely changed. Like I used <v Speaker 1>to get kind of bothered by him and not interested <v Speaker 1>in his match, like he was like, oh here comes <v Speaker 1>Regal again. Yeah, but after that, it's like anytime he's there, <v Speaker 1>I'm I get very excited. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Sometimes it can seem like he's doing a match that <v Speaker 2>like is irrespective of the crowd, is like just a <v Speaker 2>technical display that that if it's going to be boring, <v Speaker 2>oh well you're gonna have to deal with it because <v Speaker 2>this is what I do. But you actually realize as <v Speaker 2>you watch a lot of his matches that he does <v Speaker 2>switch it up, you know, based on what's going on. <v Speaker 1>But that and the beauty of it is is that <v Speaker 1>he does it in a way that almost seems like <v Speaker 1>he's not changing. You know. It comes across as being <v Speaker 1>very like, this is what he does. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it comes across as him sort of stubbornly insisting <v Speaker 2>on a match playing out this way. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, like over the object. But the key is. <v Speaker 2>How he gets to that by stopping his opponent's ability <v Speaker 2>to flurry. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. Yeah he does. <v Speaker 2>He does slow things down, but he does it in <v Speaker 2>a way that it really drives you nuts because the <v Speaker 2>guy was just starting to come back. Yeah, then this <v Speaker 2>son of a bitch like does a drop toe hold, <v Speaker 2>and all of a sudden we're back on the mat <v Speaker 2>again for a while. <v Speaker 1>It's great. <v Speaker 2>It kind of foreshadows like a what they call an MMA, <v Speaker 2>a lay in prey strategy, where like a guy who's <v Speaker 2>a really great wrestler will just take guys down and <v Speaker 2>hold him there and win the match, you know, not <v Speaker 2>really have to do much else, just stay active enough <v Speaker 2>to not get stood up. But he's such a dominant <v Speaker 2>wrestler that the other guy, no matter how talented a <v Speaker 2>striker he is, he's hitting the floor and he's going <v Speaker 2>to be suffocated down there. He can't do anything. And <v Speaker 2>it's kind of like regal, you know. It's like a <v Speaker 2>guy starts building like momentum and building you know, high <v Speaker 2>octane offense, and he just shuts him down and drags <v Speaker 2>him to the match again. <v Speaker 1>Yep, count me in. Yeah for sure, I'm a fan, <v Speaker 1>all right, He's going to work. <v Speaker 2>He's going to work. Doesn't drop to hold is mentioned <v Speaker 2>after a nuppercut. It goes back to crank in the ankle. <v Speaker 2>Marcus Bagwell spins around in his back and Regel does <v Speaker 2>another flip on the cell. Bagwell, now with a running forearm, <v Speaker 2>puts down Stephen Regel Iris ship in a big backdrop <v Speaker 2>and then an Iris ship and a hip toss and <v Speaker 2>he falls in away crossbody while doing the hip toss. <v Speaker 2>It's kind of an interesting combination move that gets too. <v Speaker 2>Nice execution there, Bagwell with the backslide gets too and <v Speaker 2>then Bagwell hits the ropes and he runs over Regal <v Speaker 2>with a big lariat, building up nice momentum here Regel <v Speaker 2>making him look good. Whip is reversed, Bagwell to the <v Speaker 2>back tries the O'Connor roll out of the corner. That <v Speaker 2>gets too but Regal reverses that position and falls on <v Speaker 2>top of Bagwell stacks him up, grabbing a handful of <v Speaker 2>tights one two three. Kind of sloppy at the end. <v Speaker 2>Regal had trouble getting his footing on the reverse and <v Speaker 2>grabbing the trunks at the same time, so he kind <v Speaker 2>of just falls on him with a second to spare <v Speaker 2>and Bagla tys to take the fall. But six minutes <v Speaker 2>eighteen seconds, Lord Stephenriggle defeats Marcus Alexander Bagwell here had <v Speaker 2>Clash of the Champions. <v Speaker 1>It's a significant time for Regal. <v Speaker 2>We turned quickly to his book Walking a Golden Mile, <v Speaker 2>as he talks about where he was in his WCW <v Speaker 2>journey at this point in time. He writes, Lord Stephen <v Speaker 2>Reegel debut on TV at the end of May, so <v Speaker 2>there you go, may ow Okay. Virtually everyone who would <v Speaker 2>ever come from England and played lords or tops, and <v Speaker 2>that would be no different. They wanted me to have <v Speaker 2>a manager. Originally Dusty was going to put Larry's a <v Speaker 2>bisso with me. Whyley's real surname was Whistler, and for <v Speaker 2>some reason Dusty thought that was a very English sounding name. <v Speaker 2>But Bil Dundee saw his chance to get on TV, <v Speaker 2>so we got the job instead. He played my Butler <v Speaker 2>and was called Sir William. Pretty daft when you think <v Speaker 2>of it. Why would Butler have a knighthood? <v Speaker 1>Oh maybe he's on his way down and maybe he <v Speaker 1>was at night and then you know now he loved <v Speaker 1>day yeah exactly. <v Speaker 2>But it worked well for American audiences. Regal says, my <v Speaker 2>first night of TVA came out and did a promo <v Speaker 2>and it just clicked. It worked great from day one. <v Speaker 2>After a month to six weeks off TV, I was <v Speaker 2>back and being used plenty. My debut came in the <v Speaker 2>WCW Saturday night show six pm on TBS, which had <v Speaker 2>been running for about seventeen years at the time. The <v Speaker 2>following Wednesday or Thursday was one of their TV specials, <v Speaker 2>a Clash of the Champions m I beat buff bag <v Speaker 2>Well and everything fell into place. I couldn't do anything wrong. <v Speaker 2>I find the interview is difficult to watch now because <v Speaker 2>they seemed so old fashioned, all tea and crumpets, but <v Speaker 2>they were effective at the time. I was using my <v Speaker 2>posh voice and a lot of Terry Thomas. Excuse me, <v Speaker 2>I don't know Terry Thomas is with the hyphen between <v Speaker 2>the two must be a reference to something British. I've <v Speaker 2>been watching British comedy all my life, and it became <v Speaker 2>a mind of material. Okay, it's a comedy show, a <v Speaker 2>mind of material I could adapt and borrow from whatever <v Speaker 2>I needed. Films, shows and comedians i'd watched all became <v Speaker 2>great ammunition. And soon I worked in a program Againsteamboat. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, that's pretty great. So if ever, you might <v Speaker 2>want to take note of Terry Thomas, the British comedy <v Speaker 2>show because anybody associated with that show, uh qualifies because <v Speaker 2>Regal studied them for his WCW. <v Speaker 1>Character and Good Wile Hunting there they are. Yeah, you <v Speaker 1>have you ever see good Will Hunting? <v Speaker 2>Well, Steve whatever your name is, Darren, we just send <v Speaker 2>a hundred cameos out and just see if anyone has <v Speaker 2>a good Will Hunting story that make then we're good. <v Speaker 1>That's it. <v Speaker 2>So that's that crowd kind of flat for the finish, <v Speaker 2>But nonetheless, Steve Riglebat's bagwell here Bagwell went for a <v Speaker 2>roll up, so him in Vader had something common on <v Speaker 2>this night. There's a break with some great music to <v Speaker 2>come back to order a video cassette of tonight's clash? <v Speaker 1>Do you want a videotape of tonight's show? <v Speaker 4>I do? <v Speaker 1>I love that. <v Speaker 2>That's kind of like how they would you know you <v Speaker 2>could buy transcripts of CNN shows. <v Speaker 1>You better be a credit card holder. Well, of course, I. <v Speaker 2>Mean I was going to order over the phone. They <v Speaker 2>did accept checks though at a money dress damp. Yeah <v Speaker 2>yeah they did. But yeah, I love that. That's like <v Speaker 2>I said, they able to sell transcripts during like Larry <v Speaker 2>King to order a transcript of this show, like. <v Speaker 1>Yes, yes, Like where do you do that? Like why <v Speaker 1>do you even sell that? <v Speaker 2>Right, I'll take it, But I like that by the <v Speaker 2>tape of what's happening as it's happening, that's fucking genius. <v Speaker 2>It is like why don't they why didn't they sell <v Speaker 2>the WrestleMania home video? During the live WrestleMania broadcast. You'll <v Speaker 2>get your order in now, you know, and the first <v Speaker 2>the first ten thousand people or whatever, we'll get an <v Speaker 2>extra interview on there or some extra backstage footage or something. <v Speaker 2>But that that's when you want to capture that that <v Speaker 2>feeling of like I want to memorialize this thing, not <v Speaker 2>after the fact. Then it kind of fades, you know, <v Speaker 2>and by the time you get the order, you're probably <v Speaker 2>ready to start fulfilling them. <v Speaker 1>I don't know. That's great. I loved it. Yep, agreed. <v Speaker 2>They come back in a voiceover, guy says n WA <v Speaker 2>and ww TAG title that's just coming up, and then <v Speaker 2>he pitches to Max Pain. Eric Bischoff is with Matt <v Speaker 2>Max of course, the Future a Man, Mountain Rock and <v Speaker 2>WWF as well for a partner of Cactus Jack and <v Speaker 2>ww Max Pain Indeed, Bossy. <v Speaker 1>Like that Pan Fountain of Croc. <v Speaker 2>I will tell you he belongs in the pantheon of <v Speaker 2>guys who are sour sons of bitches and are awesome <v Speaker 2>on shooting interviews because they saw the top guys operate <v Speaker 2>and did never get to be one of them, and <v Speaker 2>they're pissed off about it. Yes, he actually was infamous <v Speaker 2>for bringing a personal video camera backstage during nineteen ninety <v Speaker 2>five WWF and getting the click on camera and getting <v Speaker 2>a lot of things on camera that he's always hyped <v Speaker 2>or things that people would not want you to see, <v Speaker 2>and he's bled out a little bit of the footage. <v Speaker 2>You can find some of it, but that's one of <v Speaker 2>his that became one of his claims to fame. <v Speaker 1>He's pretty good. He was. <v Speaker 2>He was good for size, he was a good promo. <v Speaker 2>This gimmick worked, but the Man Mountain Rock thing just <v Speaker 2>buried him. It was just too goofy awful with the <v Speaker 2>WWF guitar and all that shit. But he's aid legit guitarist. <v Speaker 2>He's not like a Jeff Jared or honky Tonk could <v Speaker 2>carry the guitar route and couldn't play a single song <v Speaker 2>if he asked him to. But he has the bad blaster, <v Speaker 2>which was that big T shirt gun thing, or it <v Speaker 2>wasn't a T shirt gun, but it was like a <v Speaker 2>T shirt gun, but it blow confetti. <v Speaker 1>It was like a confetti yeah, I mean like almost <v Speaker 1>like the bazukahs that China used to have. <v Speaker 2>Exactly, but instead of shooting piro, he would shoot fucking <v Speaker 2>confetti confetti. And he's stolen it from Mark Merrill, so <v Speaker 2>he has it. It's a big fucking dildo in his hand. <v Speaker 2>These guys put the con in confetti, that right. So <v Speaker 2>he's got this big dildo in his hand and he <v Speaker 2>cuts off Eric and he says, I've bet in the layer, <v Speaker 2>and I've been thinking about it for a long hard times. <v Speaker 2>I said to myself, Max Pain, there's only one thing <v Speaker 2>to do. I tried to teach Johnny be Bad a <v Speaker 2>little respect, and that's all I wanted out of the deal, <v Speaker 2>to be honest. So Johnny, if you come out right now, <v Speaker 2>I'll give you your bad blaster back. Bishoff is incredulous <v Speaker 2>at the softfer in this seeming change of heart from <v Speaker 2>the mania called Max Pain. So a minor pop is <v Speaker 2>Johnny b Bad steps into the frame. He had been hurt, <v Speaker 2>so he's out of the match tonight, Paine says, you know, <v Speaker 2>and he's he's been thinking in the layer and there's <v Speaker 2>only one thing to do, and that's give you back <v Speaker 2>what's right? <v Speaker 1>Full of yours? And would that? <v Speaker 2>Max Pain shoots Johnny b Bad in the fucking face? <v Speaker 2>Well with this whatever it is, nitrous oxide powered fucking <v Speaker 2>uh gun, a nitrous oxide whatever the whatever they call <v Speaker 2>those things you put in like a yeah, a Seltzer <v Speaker 2>water thing. <v Speaker 1>Oh no, it's ridiculous. It's really shot him in the face. <v Speaker 1>He does. <v Speaker 2>He shoots him in the face. I mean, what what <v Speaker 2>is that about? Accept the co two cylinder is going <v Speaker 2>to blow up in his face? Yes, and he's not <v Speaker 2>going to like die, you know, I don't. <v Speaker 1>I don't know. <v Speaker 2>They sell it great. I mean, well, yeah, I hope so, yeah, exactly. <v Speaker 2>It's not like he doesn't come back from it, Thank god. <v Speaker 2>Johnny Bad goes flying off the stage. Eric Bischoff completely <v Speaker 2>has a conniption, Max Pain, what have you done? <v Speaker 1>Screen? <v Speaker 2>And they showed Johnny be Bad on the concrete absolutely <v Speaker 2>writhing from this, with Tom Sank and other WCW staf <v Speaker 2>huddling over him too to attend to him. And on <v Speaker 2>the two Man Partrip podcast with John Pause. Max Bain <v Speaker 2>talked about what stands out to him about this this <v Speaker 2>episode in his WCW career, Boss, if you could hit <v Speaker 2>the sound. <v Speaker 10>And then I gotta tell you, man, Johnny be bad. <v Speaker 10>He was amazing. I loved Johnny and we had so <v Speaker 10>much fun. Everybody watches. You know, I'm the first fucking <v Speaker 10>dude that ever shot anybody in wrestling. To this day, <v Speaker 10>it blows me away. I will tell you this about <v Speaker 10>that now. Johnny and I practiced that in a parking garage. <v Speaker 10>We lived in the same apartment complex in Marietta. Would <v Speaker 10>practice that in a parking garage, and he'd filled it <v Speaker 10>with jello so it wouldn't kill him. So I didn't <v Speaker 10>have confetti and all that shit in it. It just <v Speaker 10>had jello. But it made such a beautiful fucking, you know, <v Speaker 10>splash radius. It was great. <v Speaker 1>And uh. <v Speaker 10>Then one night I was working with Johnny and we <v Speaker 10>had some we had some fun, and one night I <v Speaker 10>told him, I said, Johnny, duck, and I fucking pulled <v Speaker 10>back and threw a punch and I ain't shit. And <v Speaker 10>you I, if I told you to duck and you <v Speaker 10>didn't duck, you're getting hit because I wouldn't pull a punch, <v Speaker 10>wouldn't do it. And I threw this punch and I <v Speaker 10>told him to duck and he didn't hear me, or didn't, <v Speaker 10>whatever the case may be. And I hit that fucker <v Speaker 10>so hard and he didn't go down, and I gotta <v Speaker 10>tell you, he had my respect instantly. <v Speaker 1>Right then. <v Speaker 10>I spent the next two weeks every night in the <v Speaker 10>dresser and apologizing to him for he because it's sucking <v Speaker 10>my fault. Shut up, and I'm going, yeah, I said, <v Speaker 10>give me a receipt on that potato. If he'd gave <v Speaker 10>him me or give him a receipt, it probably would <v Speaker 10>have knocked me out. <v Speaker 1>He was. <v Speaker 10>Right. Yeah, God damn, he would have kicked my ass <v Speaker 10>in boxing because I ain't worth a ship as a boxer. <v Speaker 1>I'll tell you that, right. <v Speaker 2>I don't know why he'd be interested in potatoes, but <v Speaker 2>I mean, okay, they practiced it in a parking garage. <v Speaker 2>Now I adore this thought. Can you imagine coming upon that, <v Speaker 2>you know? Oh god, the rehearsal of this in a <v Speaker 2>parking lot. Love it? I love it. But yeah, Max <v Speaker 2>pain pissed, felt like he never got his just due, <v Speaker 2>felt like he was sabotaged. <v Speaker 1>Awesome. <v Speaker 2>So the search for Cactus Jack continues and we go <v Speaker 2>to a break and back Gary Michael Kopetta talks about <v Speaker 2>I understand because the injuries just sustained that Johnny B. <v Speaker 2>Badt will not be able to compete and therefore Max Pain. <v Speaker 1>Max scribes the microphone that wasn't even on the fucking <v Speaker 1>docket the match. I know they didn't promote it. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>so like it wasn't even on the opening thing, Like, <v Speaker 1>who was expecting that? I don't know. That's a good point. <v Speaker 1>They must have promoted it on television ahead of time. <v Speaker 1>I don't remember. <v Speaker 2>But he says bad has forfeited to Max Pain, and <v Speaker 2>then zankin street pan and a shirt runs in the <v Speaker 2>ring and my microphone, What a fucking idiot. He almost <v Speaker 2>took his head off. Pain, blew his head off, you <v Speaker 2>sick ego maniac, and Pain swinging at him, and zenc <v Speaker 2>ducks and throws some right hands whips reversed, and ze <v Speaker 2>Man ducks the line and hits a super kick and <v Speaker 2>a drop kick and puts down Max Pain and the <v Speaker 2>crowds with that now Nipolo know less, Tom z inc <v Speaker 2>to save the day for Johnny b. <v Speaker 1>Bad. Well it doesn't though, because then then then uh <v Speaker 1>Pain gets a Fooji are arm bar on on Zankin. <v Speaker 1>That's it. He absolutely does. <v Speaker 2>The match starts apparently if you run and start beating <v Speaker 2>a guy's ass. The ww Championship Committee to considers that <v Speaker 2>the beginning of a sanctioned matchup all of a sudden, <v Speaker 2>Max Pain did not have to agree to zinc Johnny b. <v Speaker 2>Bad bell sounds into the buckling after a drop kick <v Speaker 2>from zenc Goes, Pain reversed, whips man hits the buckle, <v Speaker 2>and then Pain, as he said, snatches the pain killer, <v Speaker 2>as he called it, fuju are arm bar. <v Speaker 3>Now. <v Speaker 2>Now, Max Pain did train in the New Japan dojo <v Speaker 2>system along with his country him and Chris Benoa. He <v Speaker 2>was very close with actually and roomed with and helped <v Speaker 2>get a WWF try out when he was there. I believe, okay, <v Speaker 2>so so food you are arm bars. We're talking, you know. <v Speaker 2>I was taught that guys who wear kickpads and MMA <v Speaker 2>gloves do the food. <v Speaker 1>You are arm bar kind of training. <v Speaker 2>And Randy Anderson out begging Max Pain to break the hold, <v Speaker 2>but he's not letting go. Ventura says he don't have to. <v Speaker 2>This ain't a match. This ain't a sanctioned match, so <v Speaker 2>I guess it isn't a sanctioned one. He releases the <v Speaker 2>hold as the ref stend to zenc what are they doing? <v Speaker 2>We take a break, we come back. Two cold scorpios. <v Speaker 2>Music also off with the slam jam pung pong pom <v Speaker 2>pong pong too cold. And he's dancing on the way down. <v Speaker 2>And that's real dancing, not like whatever the fuck Ron <v Speaker 2>Simmons was doing before. <v Speaker 1>That's right. If I had his suit, who's going nuts? <v Speaker 1>Looks like a fucking uncle at a wedding. He sure <v Speaker 1>test he's dancing. <v Speaker 2>He shirt does, and a guy in a sting shirt <v Speaker 2>definitely paid to dance as well. <v Speaker 1>Indeed solely is. <v Speaker 2>On the hot line, we're told. So we're finally given <v Speaker 2>something more than a recap to dial in for. <v Speaker 1>Barry. <v Speaker 2>Wyndham comes out. He's big and tall and lean and mean, <v Speaker 2>a fighting machine. This is his fucking. <v Speaker 1>Barry Barry. I suppose blow pork, or I suppose his <v Speaker 1>name should be Barns blow pork. <v Speaker 2>Oh shit, Barrence, isn't that a investing trade publication? But <v Speaker 2>he also had a song on the w Stebby Slam <v Speaker 2>Gem album and it says he's big and tall and <v Speaker 2>lean and mean. He's a fighting machine. He likes to <v Speaker 2>have fun. You know, I'm talking about Barry Windom has <v Speaker 2>to be heard to be believed. <v Speaker 1>Baron's Windham. <v Speaker 2>Michael Buffer, Welcome to perhaps the lowest profile pro wrestling <v Speaker 2>match you've ever done. Barry's too cold for the world title. <v Speaker 1>So here's the thing though, let me ask you this though, <v Speaker 1>is this his first WCW match or is it an <v Speaker 1>NWA match? <v Speaker 2>Great question? The match is brought utter the auspices of <v Speaker 2>the National Wrestling Alliance. <v Speaker 1>I think I don't know. I don't know. I don't <v Speaker 1>know what's going on here. <v Speaker 2>Of course I put the bell back on Flair without <v Speaker 2>consulting the NWA, and then say go fuck yourself, like <v Speaker 2>we don't need to consult with you on changing this belt. <v Speaker 2>Its like, actually you do. And so that led to <v Speaker 2>them calling at the International Belt for a while and <v Speaker 2>then phasing it out with Sting and Flair. Right, yes, yes, <v Speaker 2>clash be where Hogan came in. Not now Hogan's there? <v Speaker 2>How Hogan care he's at that show? He said he <v Speaker 2>doesn't wrestle. <v Speaker 1>They have to set it up so that Hogan wins <v Speaker 1>the unified belt. Yeah right right, He's not going to <v Speaker 1>be in a court in the company that has two belts, no, <v Speaker 1>because he's going to have to win two. Ladies and gentlemen, <v Speaker 1>we got a one fall match sanctioned by the National <v Speaker 1>Wrestling Alliance. So man your battle stations, he literally says, <v Speaker 1>for the NWA Heavyweight Championship for free. For this bout. <v Speaker 2>Is Nick Patrick introducing first wearing the orange and white <v Speaker 2>and weighing two hundred and thirty two and one half pounds, <v Speaker 2>he's ranked number three in the world. Okay, along with <v Speaker 2>his partner Marcus Bagwell, for a shot at the world <v Speaker 2>tag team title. With six years experience, he's had over <v Speaker 2>four hundred professional wrestling matches, and tonight, after just returning <v Speaker 2>from a tour of Japan, he's got a shot at <v Speaker 2>a heavyweight title. Ladies and gentlemen, the diss that Don't miss. <v Speaker 2>Oh man, he's the challenger from Denver, Colorado, the high <v Speaker 2>Flyer two Cold Scorpio, and there's some booze smattered in <v Speaker 2>there because he's a fucking cheesy This introduction, the disc <v Speaker 2>that Don't Miss, I mean, what what do you want <v Speaker 2>the Swiss that don't miss? I mean, what's going on here? <v Speaker 2>Here we go and his opponent wearing black and red <v Speaker 2>and two hundred and sixty one pounds. This second generation <v Speaker 2>professional from Sweetwater, Texas has four times but a World <v Speaker 2>Tag Team Championship. Okay, I repeat, he has been four <v Speaker 2>times a World Tag Team Championship. He has been the <v Speaker 2>Physical Belt, and twice he's held the United States titles. <v Speaker 1>What I mean? You keep saying stuff like I'm supposed <v Speaker 1>to be what disturbed or whatever? Or no, no, just <v Speaker 1>just upset. Nothing but the facts here regards mister Buffer. <v Speaker 1>He won his NWA title by defeating the Great Mudha <v Speaker 1>in Super Bowl three. Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting the new <v Speaker 1>heavyweight champion, the Lone Wolf Berry windows, fuck my life <v Speaker 1>doesn't need the horseman, he doesn't need anybody, and he <v Speaker 1>flashes the big gold in the camera with his name <v Speaker 1>on the name plate. They were already named plating that thing, <v Speaker 1>and it's Berry winnhim versus two Cold Scorpio for the <v Speaker 1>NWA Championship Here at Clash of the Champions twenty three. <v Speaker 1>You didn't like this one? No boring as hell awesome match. <v Speaker 1>This is that's called being wrong. Boss' now listen, I <v Speaker 1>can't get behind Baron's. I'm sorry, I I really don't. <v Speaker 1>There's there's not much upside to Baron's. It's it's a <v Speaker 1>block for you. Tell you what the the the the <v Speaker 1>end is, you know, like the last maybe five minutes <v Speaker 1>is great. The beginning, like the rest of it is <v Speaker 1>just it's just bored me. I found itim boring. <v Speaker 2>It was wild that they put Scorpio in this position. <v Speaker 1>It is, it absolutely is. <v Speaker 2>I know he was held in somewhat high regard by <v Speaker 2>Brass over there, but not to the point that they <v Speaker 2>would take up primetime TBS Live to put it to <v Speaker 2>put him in a match like this. <v Speaker 1>It's so weird. <v Speaker 2>This is probably left over for the Bill Watts, you know, <v Speaker 2>playbook around this belt. Not so much a Bischoff thing, <v Speaker 2>because yeah, Bischoff basically showed Scorpio the door. Really because <v Speaker 2>you just got so fucking high that it's just like right, you. <v Speaker 1>Know, impossible. The end is I mean, the end is great. <v Speaker 1>I mean, they definitely have some there's some there's some <v Speaker 1>are some legit great near falls, but and the beginning <v Speaker 1>and in the middle, I just I don't know. I <v Speaker 1>it Wyndham does not feel natural in the ring. Everything <v Speaker 1>he does feels forced, which. <v Speaker 2>Is funny because he's always called like the such a <v Speaker 2>natural for the business. <v Speaker 1>I know, and I know that I'm a rarity. I <v Speaker 1>know that I am probably the only person in the <v Speaker 1>world who just does not like Barry Windham. But I <v Speaker 1>just who's repelled by Barry Windham? Yes, yes, yeah, repulsed <v Speaker 1>by Barry Windom. <v Speaker 2>Well, I'm not sure you're the only one that's repulsed <v Speaker 2>by him, but not for reasons that everything to do <v Speaker 2>with his wrestling skills. <v Speaker 1>I mean again, I'll take the stalker, so well will <v Speaker 1>you take the strap? Is the question? <v Speaker 2>Nick patrick hoy said, high here in Norfolk and Taur <v Speaker 2>says Marcus Bagwell knows how to set the. <v Speaker 1>Table, doesn't he. <v Speaker 2>You should see Vader, he says, I must have mistick <v Speaker 2>with that meant they circle around very woodhim in a ponytail. <v Speaker 1>Now here's that's right? Uh he's This is where Jesse <v Speaker 1>get by the way, he gets confused about the uh <v Speaker 1>the building and why it has its name the Norfolk Scope. <v Speaker 6>Why do they call it a scope? <v Speaker 1>It's Norfolk, It's not nor Fork. <v Speaker 6>It's nothing whatever. But why do they call it the scope. <v Speaker 6>It's an auditorium, it's a civic center, a scope, the <v Speaker 6>scope Colisea. All one thing good about it? <v Speaker 1>Here? You got all navy. <v Speaker 6>You ain't got any jar heads. You ain't got no <v Speaker 6>army dog faces in this town. <v Speaker 1>Maybe I was a navy shield. <v Speaker 2>How does Jesse say army jar head? <v Speaker 1>By the way, army jar head? <v Speaker 2>Shut the fuck up, Jesse, Seriously, Oh what what mouthwash <v Speaker 2>would you prefer it to be? <v Speaker 1>If not scope? I'm a Listerine guy. The Norfolk scope, <v Speaker 1>the Norfolk, the Norfolk scope. <v Speaker 2>And you know, Tony, there a little bit of twang Norfolk. <v Speaker 2>No one says it like that? What what was that? <v Speaker 6>That was? <v Speaker 5>Like? <v Speaker 1>Stay? He said? Played again. Listen to how he says it. <v Speaker 6>The norfk Scope. Why do they call it a scope? <v Speaker 1>It's not nor Fork. It's two different ways. <v Speaker 6>It's an auditorium, it's a civic center, a scope, the <v Speaker 6>scope Colisea. <v Speaker 1>He keeps, he keeps, He says it again and again, <v Speaker 1>like that explains it. He doesn't actually explain why it's <v Speaker 1>called the scope. Either repeats the name of the building. <v Speaker 1>He keeps and like and and then changed the name. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>well right, he just changed the name of Norfolk too, Yeah, Norfolk. <v Speaker 2>I don't know what's going on here in this circle <v Speaker 2>window of the pony tail to the corner that go <v Speaker 2>in the lock up, clean break. <v Speaker 1>Why they called it the scope too? Hold on, like <v Speaker 1>a scope on a gun. The idea, Okay, this is <v Speaker 1>what it is. No, they call it the scope because <v Speaker 1>it's because if you look at the logo of the scope, <v Speaker 1>there's a kaleidoscope, and the idea is that the the <v Speaker 1>this venue the scope has uh can be reconfigured for <v Speaker 1>any event. I see. So it's a kaleidoscope of possibility. <v Speaker 1>That's a very good answer. I wish Tony would have <v Speaker 1>known that. Yeah, I know. <v Speaker 2>Idiot Venturis says, go with experience, go bury window. But <v Speaker 2>if you go with who's hot, you gotta go too cold. <v Speaker 2>If you got to go with Who's hot, you gotta <v Speaker 2>go too cold. I don't know what you do if <v Speaker 2>you have to go who's too cold? I mean too <v Speaker 2>hot scorpio, I guess. <v Speaker 1>But if he became a heel, that's what he should <v Speaker 1>have been, absolutely hot scorpio or maybe yeah. <v Speaker 2>Gotta set the pace. It's all about the pace, Too <v Speaker 2>Cold tumbles under a pickup and drop kicks Berry Windham, <v Speaker 2>and Ventura says, that's what the cold man has got <v Speaker 2>to do. <v Speaker 1>Okay, cold man. <v Speaker 2>He says it, He says, Scorpion has Scorpio has nothing <v Speaker 2>to lose here, so we can turn it loose. We'll <v Speaker 2>see about that. Barry Wyndham to the hammer lock and <v Speaker 2>an arm ringer. Barry Chant breaks out very faintly. But <v Speaker 2>there's kind of a backlash against this smile and jive <v Speaker 2>and dancing, you know what I mean, too Cold. <v Speaker 1>They don't really love it. He got no respect as <v Speaker 1>he takes flight. But no, they don't. They're not They're <v Speaker 1>not fans right from the get go. Yep, sorry, sorry, <v Speaker 1>too cold. <v Speaker 2>Scorpio uses a body slam to get out of the <v Speaker 2>hammer lock of Windham, and Ventura questions why it's called <v Speaker 2>a scope, like you said, and then Tony even says, <v Speaker 2>you make enemies everywhere you go, don't you. I'm thinking, ah, Yep, <v Speaker 2>he does actually what he's kind of known for. <v Speaker 1>Over in the corner. <v Speaker 2>There's a corner to corner of Lariat by Wyndham, and <v Speaker 2>that gets a pop, Tony says, Berry Wyndham refused to <v Speaker 2>comment on the return of Riclaire to WCW, and he <v Speaker 2>made it known he's a lone wolf, not a horseman. <v Speaker 1>So the dingeon bubbling there. Lone wolf, too. <v Speaker 2>Cold kIPS up. Barry Wyndham goes under, but two cold <v Speaker 2>missed the roll up and kind of does a sloppy <v Speaker 2>ass shot on the legs and a half crab or <v Speaker 2>something trying to recover from what was a blown spot. <v Speaker 2>Barry Winndham gets to the ropes into the floor and <v Speaker 2>Jesse Ventura sidling his scope. Well, what's named after the <v Speaker 2>mouth wash? I can see that here in Virginia, of course. <v Speaker 2>Berry Windham back to the hands now throwing rights. Corner <v Speaker 2>of the corner is reversed and Berry Wyndham hits and <v Speaker 2>fires out with the lariot, but it's a ducked and <v Speaker 2>then ducked again, too cold, A duck two duck two, <v Speaker 2>you got it. And then Barry Windham fakes with a <v Speaker 2>right and two cold ducks again and Berry Wyndham boots him. <v Speaker 2>I always love using a fake right hand to draw <v Speaker 2>reaction from the guy and then do something like a <v Speaker 2>DDT or a kick. Berry Winndham goes up top does <v Speaker 2>a flying alreadt that scores to a big pop. People <v Speaker 2>way behind Barry Wyndham taking it too cold scorpio here <v Speaker 2>And of course they love Wydom because he's a Virginia guy, <v Speaker 2>right that? No, that was that was a magnum ti <v Speaker 2>he was, I say in mid Atlantic eye, Oh I <v Speaker 2>see this or these crowds were used to receiving. Berry <v Speaker 2>Wyndham is a big deal, sure, and you can tell <v Speaker 2>he's feeling it. Ventoris is Berry Wyndam is no slouch <v Speaker 2>when it comes to doing aerial maneuvers, which is news <v Speaker 2>to me. <v Speaker 1>I heard it was quite a slouch. I heard it <v Speaker 1>was a slouch when it came to aerial maneuvers. I <v Speaker 1>heard the opposite. <v Speaker 2>Yep, no one ever, No one's ever called a slouch. <v Speaker 2>Everyone's always called no slouch. Yeah, right, why the word exists? <v Speaker 1>I know, right exactly? They like, what is a slouch? <v Speaker 1>If if nobody is one? <v Speaker 2>Right, Ry Wyndham with a big body, slam out of <v Speaker 2>the corner with a limp to sell his his his <v Speaker 2>his damaged wheel before he drops a big knee and <v Speaker 2>then he shouts at the raft asking him if he <v Speaker 2>quits after that? Yeah, he's just gonna quit after getting <v Speaker 2>a knee drop. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that happens in wrestling. You never know a guy <v Speaker 1>quits due to a low as opposed to a submission. <v Speaker 1>I think it'd be great ground and pound of sorts. <v Speaker 2>It just turns out on a shell, you know. <v Speaker 1>Yep. If you weren't at CrowdStrike, you'd been two code scorpio. <v Speaker 1>But that's neither here. <v Speaker 2>Arthur Hi delayed vertical suplex by Barry Wyndham and a floatover. <v Speaker 2>That floatover gets a plus one hundred for me, and <v Speaker 2>it gets a one to two as well as is. <v Speaker 2>Wyndham kind of shows you how to do a vertical suplex. <v Speaker 2>I mean textbook. <v Speaker 1>Stuff here, fine if you say so. <v Speaker 2>And to a falsehom first loppy cover two cold comes <v Speaker 2>up firing. Tony says, this is not the This is <v Speaker 2>not the NBA where we find people for talking to reporters. <v Speaker 2>I don't know what he's talking about there. What the fuck? <v Speaker 2>Who was talking to reporters. <v Speaker 1>Or not talking to reporters? So the NBA finds people <v Speaker 1>for not talking to reporters. <v Speaker 2>Yeah apparently, Yeah, yeah, pro athletes do have to talk <v Speaker 2>to the media or suffer contractual ramific. Yes, that's the <v Speaker 2>only reason they sit there and fucking take questions. You <v Speaker 2>know they have to. It's like, how, well, it's because <v Speaker 2>you know, you want the media to cover the team favorably, <v Speaker 2>and you want to be able to control what the <v Speaker 2>media rights about key points in the game, or at <v Speaker 2>least have influence over it. <v Speaker 1>Who cares what the fucking media as long as their <v Speaker 1>fans are paying tickets. <v Speaker 2>I know you're right, but don't discount how much the <v Speaker 2>media coverage causes the fans to buy tickets and draws <v Speaker 2>their interest. <v Speaker 1>I thought, in terms of legitimate sports, it was the <v Speaker 1>the team was winning. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, the team's winning, sure, yeah, But when they're not winning, <v Speaker 2>there's got to be another storyline that keeps people interested, <v Speaker 2>and that's when you turn to the papers. Perhaps the <v Speaker 2>way it goes, they want to cover the show, you know, <v Speaker 2>they want to cover it, and they show up, So <v Speaker 2>why make it difficult on them to get access. <v Speaker 1>To the Why do you guys suck so hard? They <v Speaker 1>don't like those questions? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, but if they didn't have to, they'd be fucking gone. <v Speaker 2>You wouldn't believe how fast, And then, like one enterprising athlete, <v Speaker 2>would figure out how to work in the media to <v Speaker 2>his advantage, and then everybody else would try to try <v Speaker 2>to figure it out. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, so they get what they want in the long run, <v Speaker 1>you know, Oh they do. <v Speaker 2>They get what they want in the long run. That's <v Speaker 2>for damn sure. Venturia says, who's Michael Jordan betting on tonight? <v Speaker 2>I heard Jordan's given two to one on the Hollywood <v Speaker 2>Blonde Later. This is a time when Michael Jordan was <v Speaker 2>kind of outed publicly for doing a lot of gambling, <v Speaker 2>and we sounded like the the last ride and stuff, <v Speaker 2>where the what was it, last dance? <v Speaker 1>Last ride? Fucking undertaker. One should be ashamed of myself, <v Speaker 1>you should be actually really, she was out. <v Speaker 2>There talking about how he gambles as part of his <v Speaker 2>competitive nature, and he was doing a lot of interviews <v Speaker 2>getting grilled about that in nineteen eighty three. So there's <v Speaker 2>Jesse ripped from the headlines reading USA Today, no doubt <v Speaker 2>in the locker room for the show. <v Speaker 1>Hey, I'm going to read USA Today, get the inside <v Speaker 1>scoop as to what's going on in the news. <v Speaker 2>There's one thing I've always thought about ten ninety nine contractors. <v Speaker 2>They need to be better informed about world affairs. <v Speaker 1>What are you going to do to prepare for the <v Speaker 1>show for the Clash of the Champions. <v Speaker 2>Shavani h I'm gonna sit in my car and hope <v Speaker 2>nobody wonders where I am gonna. <v Speaker 1>Sit in my car with a gun in my head. <v Speaker 2>Figuratively, of course, Irish whipping two Cold does for dropkick. <v Speaker 2>Barry Wham holds on. So two Cold crashes into the <v Speaker 2>canvas and then a DDT with a nonchalant body language <v Speaker 2>from a Bury Windom who gets a two count. Tony <v Speaker 2>called it leaping and then takes it back. <v Speaker 1>Yes, it didn't leap at all. So when when Scorpio <v Speaker 1>was making his comeback there and he was hitting Barns <v Speaker 1>with some some elbows to the midsection, Wyndham's response, sound <v Speaker 1>is that's a good one. I like your Burry Windham. <v Speaker 1>Now that is that is the noise he makes? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, and there's something here after Tony takes back calling <v Speaker 2>it a leaping DDT. That pops Jesse. You can hear <v Speaker 2>him kind of chortle and laughter, but I'm not sure. <v Speaker 1>What it was. <v Speaker 2>Maybe just looks at it or something. Action stands up <v Speaker 2>inside cradle by two Cold. <v Speaker 1>Scorpio gets too. <v Speaker 2>Berry Windham the right back on him with the right hand, <v Speaker 2>and then a gut wrench suplex stump scorpio for two <v Speaker 2>and now some mounted punches on the mat, and Tony <v Speaker 2>calls back to the Johnny b Bad injury and that <v Speaker 2>they didn't want to mention all this time. They didn't <v Speaker 2>mention all this time, the didn say a single word <v Speaker 2>about it until now. Guess what you got to do <v Speaker 2>to find out how he's doing. Call the hotline. There <v Speaker 2>we go, and Tony doesn't promise that. He says, you <v Speaker 2>may be able to hear an update. <v Speaker 1>Can you imagine the consumer fraud that that is? I <v Speaker 1>know hal and you may be able to hear an update. <v Speaker 1>You never know? Could be could not. <v Speaker 2>Back up now? And too Cold gets off a dropkick, <v Speaker 2>but Berry wind and lunges forward with a tackle to <v Speaker 2>stay ahead. <v Speaker 1>Let's fuck yourself, but could be could not go fuck yourself? <v Speaker 2>Could went him hotshots? Too Cold on the rope's throat first, <v Speaker 2>and Tony speculates that a Japan trip for two cold <v Speaker 2>scorpio cost him as far as jet lag goes, and <v Speaker 2>Ventura says, why did he take off to Japan knowing <v Speaker 2>he had this match? Thinking what are you think? Eating <v Speaker 2>raw fish would make him stronger, yes, Jesse, because you <v Speaker 2>can't get raw fish anywhere but Japan. A fly to <v Speaker 2>Japan to eat raw fish, that's all. You don't even <v Speaker 2>have to cook it, you buy it and need it. <v Speaker 1>Right. <v Speaker 2>Verry Windham dumped too cold to the floor. No, I <v Speaker 2>didn't think, so I knew I was wrong on Verry <v Speaker 2>Windem dumps two cold to the floor. Too cold gets <v Speaker 2>up to the apron to Barry Wyndom clubs into the <v Speaker 2>chest in front of the announced desk position. Two cold <v Speaker 2>comes back up shoulders from the apron. Now from scorpio. <v Speaker 2>We slingshot in lands in the press. I like that <v Speaker 2>instead of a sling shot summer sunset flip. Yeah, sling <v Speaker 2>shots press. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think it's great. <v Speaker 2>It only gets one. Berry Wyndham in mid ring hits <v Speaker 2>a big drop kick that scores and puts them back <v Speaker 2>in control, whipped to the shoulders and a great samo <v Speaker 2>and drop by Berry Wyndham, which Tony calls a crucifix <v Speaker 2>that's also good for two called the crucifix really yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I mean at least that's what I remember. I remember <v Speaker 2>a crucifix was a mix of two things. <v Speaker 1>It was because I mean it, look at look at <v Speaker 1>it when he's got when he got you up there <v Speaker 1>in that hole, it does look like a crucifix absolutely <v Speaker 1>on my person's shoulder like that. So I thought the <v Speaker 1>crew fixes the roll up it is now, But back <v Speaker 1>then I'm pretty sure it was one or the other. <v Speaker 1>At least that's how Grilla Monsoon would fucking just call it. <v Speaker 1>That's interesting. Do you remember that you do both? You know, <v Speaker 1>but I don't know. <v Speaker 2>Barry Wyndham lends a big right hand and two coles <v Speaker 2>out on his feet Barrywood and then floors him with <v Speaker 2>another one, and Jesse Venturis is after this you might <v Speaker 2>call him a uh call him out cold Scorpio. <v Speaker 1>Yes, I like that. <v Speaker 2>Win him with the great lifting and delay in a <v Speaker 2>back suplex lateral press gets to back up Barry Wyndam <v Speaker 2>love tapping him and then Scorpio tries firing back, but <v Speaker 2>Wyndham goes to the eyes whip up to the shoulders, <v Speaker 2>but Scorpio drops down into a sunset flip for two <v Speaker 2>back up. Barry Wyndham runs him over with a lariat. <v Speaker 2>Then Barry Wyndham tries a back suplex, but Scorpio back <v Speaker 2>flips out and hits one of his own. Barry Wyndham <v Speaker 2>breaks the eyes though to try to stay in control <v Speaker 2>purchase Scorpio open the top rope and then climbs up himself. <v Speaker 2>Scorpio comes a live with a gordbuster that puts down <v Speaker 2>Bury Wyndham and the crowd explodes and then some great <v Speaker 2>hangtime no hands top rope splash by two cold Scorpio <v Speaker 2>lands on Wyndom that gets one two. Crowd going nuts. <v Speaker 2>At this point, Tony did a great sale job on, <v Speaker 2>saying I thought that was three. It did look like <v Speaker 2>it was three. Great in ear fall there whip an <v Speaker 2>a leap frog, and then he tries it again and <v Speaker 2>hits a rana into a victory roll Tony, or a <v Speaker 2>victory role, as Tony calls it. But it's a hurricane rana, <v Speaker 2>which we didn't see so much in nineteen ninety three, <v Speaker 2>especially for in world title matches. Scorpio stands up instead <v Speaker 2>of using that move for the cover, though, hits a <v Speaker 2>super kick in the right hand and runs into a <v Speaker 2>forward roll trying to pin Windom, getting two. Tony says, <v Speaker 2>that's the first time I saw a slide out of <v Speaker 2>a pinning predicament. That's how he phrased it. The first <v Speaker 2>time he saw a slide out of a pinning predicament doubt, <v Speaker 2>I don't know. Instead of kicking out, you slide out. <v Speaker 1>I don't know. I don't know what that means. <v Speaker 2>Scorpio slams and goes to the apron sling shot four <v Speaker 2>fifty splash here on TBS. That gets too. <v Speaker 1>It's pretty quiet where where this is where it picks up. <v Speaker 1>Kind of was like, oh, this is actually interesting. <v Speaker 2>Ventura loving the action, he says as much. Too cold, <v Speaker 2>goes up top and he hits a great seated missile <v Speaker 2>dropkick and that scores. <v Speaker 1>It gets too. Yes, that was actually that was actually unbelievable. <v Speaker 2>Ventoris is only in WCW one on TBS. Do you <v Speaker 2>see this kind of wrestling Tony and you know when <v Speaker 2>Jesse has like a an eruption like that, you know <v Speaker 2>that's not heel, not a heel line. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, he's excited. <v Speaker 2>He's excited, right, I wouldn't have side steps. Scorpio tries <v Speaker 2>to use the sling shot back in, but Barry Wyndham <v Speaker 2>swats him out of mid air with that devastating right hand, <v Speaker 2>basically knocking Scorpio out in mid flight and then he <v Speaker 2>hooks him up hits the impaler DDT, but instead of <v Speaker 2>falling to his back like Edge would do or Gangrel, <v Speaker 2>he drops to his knees, which is kind of a <v Speaker 2>different way of doing it. Smash, but I'm not a <v Speaker 2>fan of It doesn't look good to me. It looks <v Speaker 2>like he sucked up the move. But that's what he did, <v Speaker 2>and it's good enough. Smatching Scorpio's head into the canvas <v Speaker 2>for the one the two. In the three, twelve minutes <v Speaker 2>and fifty three seconds, Barry Wyndham defeats two Cold Scorpio <v Speaker 2>to retain the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Here at Clash <v Speaker 2>of the Champions twenty three. <v Speaker 1>There we go, that's great. <v Speaker 2>They can pretty come back. Beach blast ad Tony voicing <v Speaker 2>it over the second one. He says, the second beach <v Speaker 2>blast and it did it. <v Speaker 1>Would be And then I guess Jesse does a he's <v Speaker 1>doing a Stallone impression, but it's Jesse wearing a hat. <v Speaker 2>There's a story behind this. Have you ever seen the <v Speaker 2>clip where he puts the hat on? <v Speaker 1>No? <v Speaker 2>So Stallone's filming Judge Dredd okay, and they're on set <v Speaker 2>because they're Barry Bloom is Stallone's agent and Jesse's agent. <v Speaker 1>Ah. Sure. <v Speaker 2>So they get invited on set, and Stallone does an <v Speaker 2>interview for WW Saturday Night, and he puts a wsw <v Speaker 2>hat on during the course of the interview as a <v Speaker 2>favorite to Jesse. And so Jesse puts a WW hat <v Speaker 2>on here in this broadcast and says, I'm numb. You <v Speaker 2>want to see my Stallone and Russian And that's the story. <v Speaker 1>Okay, I mean, I'll I guess that's that's all right. <v Speaker 1>I'm glad that there's a story there, because I had <v Speaker 1>no fucking idea of what they were he was talking about. <v Speaker 2>I know, I know, out of contexts, it's hard to <v Speaker 2>what the hell is he doing? Is he having like <v Speaker 2>an episode here? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, exactly exactly. I was like, I made me think <v Speaker 1>that Stallone did something stupid and uh, and so he <v Speaker 1>was making fun of him. But that makes more sense. <v Speaker 2>Even though he going to hate him, you know, Bischof's <v Speaker 2>eyes at this point kind of lit up when he <v Speaker 2>realized he was dealing with Stallone's agent. Of course, smells possibility. <v Speaker 2>Of course, pitches him the game show. Oh fuck yeah, <v Speaker 2>Tony says, you can order the video and they flashed <v Speaker 2>the info of a California residence out an eight point <v Speaker 2>two five percent tax. <v Speaker 1>Thank you very much, it said too. Here's this is <v Speaker 1>that little bit, the ability to buy a video cassette <v Speaker 1>of the evening's clash. <v Speaker 7>We told you earlier. You saw earlier that you could <v Speaker 7>order a video cassette up this class of the checks. <v Speaker 7>Here's the information. <v Speaker 1>Call on one hundred and. <v Speaker 7>Seventy three two zero seven zero zero for credit card <v Speaker 7>orders or send nineteen ninety nine plus four point fifty <v Speaker 7>shipping and handling check her money order to this address <v Speaker 7>to order a video cassette of tonight's Clash of the Champions. <v Speaker 1>To Clash of the Champions ninety seven. <v Speaker 7>Ten to Soto Avenue, Chatsworth, California, nine one three one <v Speaker 7>one four four oh nine. Make the checks payable to <v Speaker 7>Aims Media to order Class of the Champions. And what <v Speaker 7>a match we have with Barry one of a two <v Speaker 7>cold scorpio to have on video cancides. <v Speaker 6>Tremendous matchup. Where's your checkbook? I want to send off <v Speaker 6>with your money. You hit your check book, Tony. <v Speaker 1>Eric would take care of that. Yeah, he would never <v Speaker 1>hide his checkbook. It's funny I love the idea and <v Speaker 1>I wish that. I can't believe that WW didn't do <v Speaker 1>this as well, the idea of of the you know, <v Speaker 1>like we said earlier, just selling you know, selling these <v Speaker 1>shows if you want to order it, because like that's <v Speaker 1>just fucking amazing. And I mean, granted I would be <v Speaker 1>taping it. I taped every piece of resting I could. <v Speaker 1>That was like I felt like a major show. But <v Speaker 1>it's like I for the shows that I didn't see <v Speaker 1>or that I missed, I would you know, the these <v Speaker 1>it's something to put Clash of the Champions or Saturday's <v Speaker 1>main event on on on video, right, you know they <v Speaker 1>were never available? So true. <v Speaker 2>I mean to me, like you're already gonna if someone <v Speaker 2>who missed the show and wants to see it, they're <v Speaker 2>gonna buy the tape. You got those guys already, but <v Speaker 2>this is a chance to sell the tape to people <v Speaker 2>who did see the show right on top of it, <v Speaker 2>which which you know wasn't a number to shake a <v Speaker 2>stick at. We're talking north of a million people here <v Speaker 2>watching the show. So Eric bischoffics with Davey boy Smith <v Speaker 2>and staying in Dustin Rhodes, sequence everywhere and Davy Boy <v Speaker 2>is wrapped in the union. Jack, Dustin Rhodes is Rude. <v Speaker 2>Your number is up tonight, you and I face to face, <v Speaker 2>and I want you three to know one thing. Looking <v Speaker 2>at the possible greatest three ever teamed up here tonight. Okay, <v Speaker 2>Davy Boy has something to say. You know, Eric Bischoff, <v Speaker 2>Big Van Vader is a big man. Sid is a <v Speaker 2>big man. Rude is, but right now, Rud is a man. <v Speaker 2>You're looking at a triple threat. What triple threat? Well, <v Speaker 2>we mean business tonight. Come on, step in the square circle, <v Speaker 2>each one of the Sting big pop in the in <v Speaker 2>the in the crowd because it's on the big screen. <v Speaker 2>Masters of the power bomb, which is what they were <v Speaker 2>calling Sid Invader. Well, I'll be damned if I let <v Speaker 2>somebody master me. Sting says, we don't want to talk <v Speaker 2>about it, think about it. We just want to do it. <v Speaker 1>I thought, he said, Master bait me too, the masters <v Speaker 1>of the Basin, the masters of the power BASI right, <v Speaker 1>So take a break, we come back. Ruder Vader, Rude <v Speaker 1>Vederan sit her there by the way, trying his absolute <v Speaker 1>hardest to be his dad. Who's trying to be his dad? <v Speaker 2>Dustin Oh yeah, Yeah. The hare is kind of like <v Speaker 2>that length, and. <v Speaker 1>He's trying to talk like him and he just can't. Dustin, <v Speaker 1>don't don't. You can't do it. Pal just become a <v Speaker 1>you know, just become a a gold homo eotic individual. <v Speaker 1>He went for it. Yeah, he went for it. The <v Speaker 1>man who said he never lost the US title ravishing <v Speaker 1>Rick Rude. Isn't it funny that that was what, you know, <v Speaker 1>kind of took him out of the shadow of his dad? <v Speaker 1>Makes sense? Yeah, I mean, it's just he does it, <v Speaker 1>does it? I mean, he actually does something different, but <v Speaker 1>it's it's really it's he really went astray. Was trying <v Speaker 1>to do the lisp, trying to do the accent. It's like, stop, Well, <v Speaker 1>you're only as good as your dad, Dustin. I'm sure <v Speaker 1>he was told that many times. He was he was <v Speaker 1>better than his dad in the ring, that's for sure, absolutely, <v Speaker 1>But I mean, and hilariously, he's better now. <v Speaker 2>Here is that his dad was at that age. Forget <v Speaker 2>about his dad couldn't fucking move. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, his dad's fucking, you know, wearing knee pads over <v Speaker 1>his jeans. <v Speaker 2>Say what you want about w stew this point in time. <v Speaker 2>But Rick Rude, Vader and Sid is a pretty badass fucking. <v Speaker 1>Team, you know what I mean. I mean, the greatest <v Speaker 1>thing that Rick Rude ever fucking did for his career <v Speaker 1>was jumped to w CW in nineteen ninety one. Wow, <v Speaker 1>because he just became even to me as someone who <v Speaker 1>wasn't too familiar with him at the time, he came <v Speaker 1>across as a fucking main eventor yeah, and he never <v Speaker 1>came across like a main eventor in w W. He <v Speaker 1>was always a fucking side show, you know, yeah, mid <v Speaker 1>card at best, see title. But when he went to <v Speaker 1>w CW, it was like a real fucking game change <v Speaker 1>for him. It's amazing. Mm hmm. <v Speaker 2>I remember when he came in, he was cutting promos <v Speaker 2>about how like, you know, I'm too dangerous for this industry. <v Speaker 2>It was kind of he's kind of shooting at first, <v Speaker 2>this fascinating stuff. The way they kind of framed him up. <v Speaker 2>I think it was Starkade. It was ninety two, right, <v Speaker 2>he came in. <v Speaker 1>Ninety one, he came in and Havoc he was the phantom. <v Speaker 2>Oh, I'm thinking of Bill Wats hero that's right, ninety <v Speaker 2>one and Bill Wats was already in play heard had <v Speaker 2>been pretty much exiled by then, so it was I <v Speaker 2>remember Bill brought him in. <v Speaker 1>Wats wouldn't No, Bill was wouldn't be there because because <v Speaker 1>Kip Fry was. There is a Fry that brought him in. <v Speaker 1>I think it was heard. I always remember associating that <v Speaker 1>first cut. Maybe Hallween have a ninety two. I thought <v Speaker 1>it was ninety one. No, it's ninety one because he's <v Speaker 1>in the UH war Games. He's in the and he's <v Speaker 1>in the Star kate At Yeah, right, he's in war <v Speaker 1>games in February or March or whatever. It was ninety one. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I just had the only said ninety two <v Speaker 2>is because I think of ninety two as the Bill <v Speaker 2>Watts year. But I think he did start in late <v Speaker 2>ninety one. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>So he did a promo about how like, you know, <v Speaker 2>I'm like, I don't actually work here, so he was <v Speaker 2>invading almost so it's kind of like the Scott Holland <v Speaker 2>promo kind of yeah, and that automatically is like, wow, okay, <v Speaker 2>he's actually this isn't just Rick Rude. This is a <v Speaker 2>Rick Rud who's pissed off that WWF didn't give him opportunities, <v Speaker 2>you know, right, that came across when he made the jump. <v Speaker 2>They didn't they leave into. <v Speaker 1>That Owen ninety one, the phantom, the Hellowen Havoc Phantom. <v Speaker 1>Where's Rick Rude? Absolutely yes, we've covered that Rude yep, <v Speaker 1>way back when, way back when. <v Speaker 2>So Rude has a briefcase and Harley's there in Vader's <v Speaker 2>World Champion of w CW and uh Vader poster in <v Speaker 2>the crowd, and Colonel Parker's with the man who rules <v Speaker 2>the word so vicious and the briefcases of the US <v Speaker 2>title belt. We're told Rick is holding on to it <v Speaker 2>and refusing to give up the championship belt. W W <v Speaker 2>says he has to give it back, we're told, and <v Speaker 2>he says, well, come and get it. Here comes Sting <v Speaker 2>and the slam gems. <v Speaker 1>On the shelves. It's Perner Sting Cakank. You know that <v Speaker 1>they said that they said Sid was from Memphis, Tennessee. <v Speaker 1>Now he's from West Memphis. Ar is Arkansas, right, Yeah, <v Speaker 1>no one knows we're West memphisis Sid. <v Speaker 2>We're just going to say from a totally different state. <v Speaker 1>How about that? This is sname? <v Speaker 2>We do get that because they don't use buffer for this. <v Speaker 1>You know what's nice is that the baby faces almost <v Speaker 1>same page because they're all wearing red. Yes, the heels <v Speaker 1>were all wearing different outfits. <v Speaker 2>Cat so he tossed his jacket up in the air <v Speaker 2>and it still lands on his head. Fucking sting. That's <v Speaker 2>a bad omen. He's such a goofball staying Davy boy <v Speaker 2>Smith and Dustin Roads versus Vader Rick Rude and Sid <v Speaker 2>Vicious Here at Clash of the Champions twenty three, Tony <v Speaker 2>says there's an offer to retire. They will answer on <v Speaker 2>WCW Saturday Night. An offer to retire. I don't know <v Speaker 2>what he's talking about. I don't know an offer to retire. <v Speaker 2>What they're calling him Davey boy Smith but not British Bulldog. <v Speaker 2>I've noticed that. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, they can't call him British Bulldog. That is a <v Speaker 1>That is a trademark owned by Raising Entertainment Incorporated with <v Speaker 1>a touch of Titan Sports, principal business address of twelve <v Speaker 1>forty one. He's Main Street, Stanford, conneta business of entertainment <v Speaker 1>properties and content building. <v Speaker 2>Ventora said he'd picked Tahiti if offered plane tickets to <v Speaker 2>go anywhere in the world, but he says Tony's first <v Speaker 2>choice would be POK Virginia. Tony says Colonel Parker and <v Speaker 2>Sid planned to be on the wrestling hotline. Boy, what <v Speaker 2>that would found? <v Speaker 1>Bike? You know? Ah? Option one and Sid? Are you <v Speaker 1>not doing Sid too? Because he no showed Sid wasn't there. <v Speaker 1>Sid didn't fucking do anything on me on the hotline, <v Speaker 1>And so you just get you just get Rob Parker grunting. <v Speaker 1>You call it hotline. <v Speaker 2>Five options, five different wrestlers, one Colonel Parker, two Staying, <v Speaker 2>three the number four Sid. You dial it and it's <v Speaker 2>silence for in two minutes. <v Speaker 1>I would love it too, if like if they, if they, <v Speaker 1>if they are, Like you had five options and three <v Speaker 1>of them are Rob Parker Parker vision. It's like it's <v Speaker 1>the same fucking thing. Like it wasn't a five of <v Speaker 1>your favorite ws WSW wrestlers and like one, one, two, <v Speaker 1>and five are Rob Parker. Oh my god, would do it? <v Speaker 2>They would ask for forgiveness instead of permission, for sure. <v Speaker 2>On that hotline stuff Sting and Rude. Get A started <v Speaker 2>Sting with a red white paint with a black around <v Speaker 2>his eyes. <v Speaker 1>Three would be Sting and then four would be Rick Rude. <v Speaker 1>But they they didn't record the actual what he was <v Speaker 1>supposed to say for the thing, and instead they got <v Speaker 1>kind of the it was all pre roll ship. <v Speaker 2>Yeah right, completely dis disassociated from what happened at the. <v Speaker 1>Clash, right, And the last thing you hear is all right, <v Speaker 1>you're aready record this rick? All right? And three two, <v Speaker 1>and they starts and then it's over. No, then it <v Speaker 1>cut off because it was recording. And then what fuck? <v Speaker 1>I get what you mean? He went to record? They <v Speaker 1>turned it off. <v Speaker 2>And I think I think there's a market for like <v Speaker 2>a fake hotline, you know, or like you bring the <v Speaker 2>concept back, people can call it up and it's it's <v Speaker 2>all satire, like it's. <v Speaker 1>Like, yeah, oh my god, it'd be fucking great ideas <v Speaker 1>like that. I don't know. Maybe that's a lapsed fan <v Speaker 1>extension at some point. I don't know. I'm just saying <v Speaker 1>I could hear like almost like you could you could again, <v Speaker 1>like you have these things where these accidents like that <v Speaker 1>where oh yeah, and no one cares enough to correct him, right, <v Speaker 1>like you're supposed to have. You know, I don't know <v Speaker 1>Steve Austin in character, but instead all you hear about, <v Speaker 1>all you hear are Vince Patterson and Austin arguing over <v Speaker 1>what he should say on the piece exactly. You never <v Speaker 1>actually get the piece. <v Speaker 2>It's like a disco's idea of the baby face who's <v Speaker 2>actually a heel, but you accidentally catch him saying like, <v Speaker 2>do I have to do say this fucking awful shit <v Speaker 2>to these fans? I hate these people? Go and then <v Speaker 2>he like puts a big smile on yep, yep, so <v Speaker 2>sting again with a red white paint with the black <v Speaker 2>or ringed around his eyes. Here some little stingers in <v Speaker 2>the crowd gets them up big for the lock up, <v Speaker 2>and then Jesse says, O maha, that's where you'd go, <v Speaker 2>O maha. I mean, this guy is on a fucking <v Speaker 2>planet of his own on the show. He's got to <v Speaker 2>be smoking over there. <v Speaker 1>What if he fucking Peyton Manning? I don't know what <v Speaker 1>are you? Yes? <v Speaker 2>Sticking with head lock. Rude tries to muscle his way out, <v Speaker 2>but it's not happening. Rude goes to the hammer lock <v Speaker 2>stinger versus slow and methodical pace. <v Speaker 1>Early, complete complete break here. Did did you see Peyton <v Speaker 1>Manning at the Olympic opening ceremonies? By the way, not know? God, <v Speaker 1>just so fucking weird that he was a commentator for <v Speaker 1>the opening ceremonies the Olympics. Yeah, that so fucking Snoop <v Speaker 1>Dogg is like next to all the athletes parents. Smokes <v Speaker 1>is the spokesperson for the Olympics. <v Speaker 2>Basically, like he's like sitting next to Simone Bile's parents <v Speaker 2>and what is this. <v Speaker 1>Whoever whoever's got there, you know, up next, Like he's <v Speaker 1>always by their parents like they you know, yeah, they <v Speaker 1>have to pretend they understand while he's there, right, And <v Speaker 1>and what the funny thing with Peyton Manning is that <v Speaker 1>he had he was wearing his his you know, his <v Speaker 1>wrist notebook, his quarterback wrist notebook thing, right, and he's <v Speaker 1>like going through like you know, he as a joke. <v Speaker 1>He's going through and saying he has all the information <v Speaker 1>on all the athletes and all the countries. That's a lot. <v Speaker 2>That's a long note to self in there. <v Speaker 1>Big ass fucking Wristbam there. Wow. Peyton so rude to <v Speaker 1>the hemlocks. <v Speaker 2>Sting reverses low methodical pace, early rude, tucks in a <v Speaker 2>back elbow in the corner and Venturi says, good looking elbow. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>Rick rude with some elbows again. Whips reversed and Sting <v Speaker 2>backdrops Rick Rude up into the lights, Jay Jesse Ventury <v Speaker 2>going on about who has the belt At this point, <v Speaker 2>Sting then with a girl of press on Rick Rude <v Speaker 2>into the Masters of the power Bomb. They catch him <v Speaker 2>but drop him in the process, but still looks great. <v Speaker 2>A Sting has taken all three by himself. Sting is <v Speaker 2>swinging in all three and then Sid doing the Terry <v Speaker 2>Funk selling the ropes. I shit you not. Your eyes <v Speaker 2>do not deceive you. That is Sting a part of me. <v Speaker 2>That is Sid sitting on the middle rope, rocking back <v Speaker 2>and forth like Terry Funk used to do. He's such <v Speaker 2>a goof he's selling and there's not we're supposed to do. <v Speaker 1>It's this crowded. <v Speaker 2>Norfolk ready to go when Sting lands. Yes, you know <v Speaker 2>the answer to that question. <v Speaker 1>It is you know, I say it every time, But <v Speaker 1>it is so amazing how forgiving. Yes, the wrestling fans <v Speaker 1>of the ww wrestling fans were for Sting, like, you know, <v Speaker 1>he he could be. He really could be just not <v Speaker 1>I want to say slobby, but his his moves weren't <v Speaker 1>always that interesting, but he he he just they just <v Speaker 1>always were behind him. They never bored ever for him, <v Speaker 1>never bored. And you know it's true, Like you think <v Speaker 1>about how there aren't many babyfaces who are just really <v Speaker 1>career long babyfaces. <v Speaker 2>And what was remarkable to about him was like business <v Speaker 2>was not doing well, Like yeah, you would not look <v Speaker 2>at the metrics and say that Sting was a successful <v Speaker 2>top guy in WSW, but it didn't matter to those people. <v Speaker 2>It's not like it didn't ever reflect you know, the <v Speaker 2>state of the business was never reflected in the crowd's <v Speaker 2>reaction from the people who did show up to Sting <v Speaker 2>other champions like you know, Kevin Nash and WWF, Like <v Speaker 2>you could tell this isn't working, like this crowd is <v Speaker 2>not matching the enthusiasm that they're expected to have. I <v Speaker 2>cheered for no, oh, I'm sure you did, but you <v Speaker 2>could tell it wasn't the level of cheers they wanted <v Speaker 2>and that and therefore didn't feel like a surprise when <v Speaker 2>you found out how soft business was at that point <v Speaker 2>in time. But here it's like, you watch these shows, <v Speaker 2>the thing seems like the most popular wrestler in the <v Speaker 2>planet based on decibel level. <v Speaker 1>You'd almost like he should be carrying these shows on <v Speaker 1>his own, Like yeah, it didn't fucking matter what the <v Speaker 1>main event was, Like, people should be here to see <v Speaker 1>Sting based on the reaction. <v Speaker 2>Right, And it was amazing that intensity and that that <v Speaker 2>connection didn't grow the audience. It just shrunk and trunk <v Speaker 2>and trunk yep. But yet the energy in the building <v Speaker 2>when he did his thing never never dissipated, So. <v Speaker 1>Now he was always just yeah, so wacky. <v Speaker 2>Really was like just the people who still cared about <v Speaker 2>coming to WCW wanted Sting, and the people who weren't <v Speaker 2>watching w CW weren't going to be drawn in by Sting. <v Speaker 2>It was really weird, right, So he's swinging on everybody <v Speaker 2>and Sting is doing the Terry funk, A part of me, <v Speaker 2>Sid is doing the Terry funk. Like I said, he <v Speaker 2>does an inside critole in Rick Rude for two tag <v Speaker 2>two Davy part of me to dustin Roads that gets <v Speaker 2>no pop whatsoever. But he comes in throwing in volume <v Speaker 2>and does an elbow for two and he moves as <v Speaker 2>Vader goes for the splash, and Vader splashes Rick Rude. <v Speaker 1>They did like to see that. <v Speaker 2>David boy Smith then gets in and Sid and his <v Speaker 2>body glove. <v Speaker 1>Elbow pad era forget that. Yep. <v Speaker 2>Steps in. Harley screams near Jesse's You can hear him <v Speaker 2>on the headset. <v Speaker 1>This ain't supposed to be happening in this way, yelling <v Speaker 1>at me. Come on, Jet, you said of a bitch, <v Speaker 1>bump me, you fucking pi. <v Speaker 2>He's slapping Jests in the back of the head, trying <v Speaker 2>to get a rise out of him. <v Speaker 1>Come on, yes, come on, you dum fucking he's trying <v Speaker 1>to work. Come on, come on, hey, hey, hey, hey, <v Speaker 1>that's good. What's going on, Harley? Get the fuck I <v Speaker 1>got it here. I'm trying to call the match. You're cheating, <v Speaker 1>I mean. Harley comes over and starts slapping Jesse maniacally <v Speaker 1>in the back of the head like I'm rack of fire. <v Speaker 4>You think you're the fucking mayor of Brooklyn Park're a <v Speaker 4>bump park butt me? <v Speaker 2>Fucking awesome, fucking awesome Class twenty three. <v Speaker 1>That's the highlight. <v Speaker 2>Harley working ringside, going up to Jesse and smacking him <v Speaker 2>on his rat tail. <v Speaker 1>Hey, hey, leave the leave the rattail alone. What do <v Speaker 1>you think you're doing, Harley? Race? Look, I'm not in <v Speaker 1>the match. I'm not in the match. <v Speaker 2>Of course, this is all going over the air. He <v Speaker 2>doesn't take his headset off to say these things. <v Speaker 1>Awesome. <v Speaker 2>I do love an announcer under siege. <v Speaker 1>Man, I'm here calling the match. I'm not here to <v Speaker 1>be involved. I'm not working it. I'm not in the script. Dammit. <v Speaker 1>He's just exposing the business too. <v Speaker 4>Of course, gone, gone, bught me, you fucking maggot. <v Speaker 2>He wants, he wants Jesse to give him a reason <v Speaker 2>to flat back. I love how he can't just bump <v Speaker 2>on his own. He needs somebody else. <v Speaker 6>You know. <v Speaker 2>It's because well, he needs to feel the sting of <v Speaker 2>the canvas on his back exactly. He's not willing to <v Speaker 2>just take a phantom bump and expose anything. So he's <v Speaker 2>the ultimate codependent, you know. <v Speaker 1>It's like he needs a fucking you know, he needs <v Speaker 1>his fix. He's like, right, he's going through withdrawal, so <v Speaker 1>he needs somebody to fucking bump him. I'll tell you <v Speaker 1>there's no greater drug I'm getting in that ring and <v Speaker 1>bumping and feeding. I'm all about the bump. The bump <v Speaker 1>feeds me. That's the bump and feed that I take <v Speaker 1>care of that. I involved myself in bump. <v Speaker 2>I think if they would have put Matt camp with <v Speaker 2>Mark Henry instead of those other guys. They could have <v Speaker 2>called it the bump and feed damn right. Davy boy <v Speaker 2>Smith comes in against Sid Harley, screaming like we said <v Speaker 2>the bumping trough bump and troll shit Sid and Davy <v Speaker 2>boy Uh, there's no which whip. Davy boy leap frogs <v Speaker 2>over and throws some right hands said his ping ponged <v Speaker 2>in the face between the baby faces in the corner, <v Speaker 2>and then Davy boy Smith slams Sid slid. Sid climbs out, <v Speaker 2>but Sting pulls the ropes up into his nuts and <v Speaker 2>close lines him down. Dustin hits him too. It's amazing <v Speaker 2>as he Sid like this just like yeah, kind of <v Speaker 2>like you know, bumping around like a fucking goofball for <v Speaker 2>three baby faces. <v Speaker 1>Like exactly like he's a fucking chicken shit heel instead <v Speaker 1>of the the the unbeatable monster. Uh. <v Speaker 2>Sid cuts off Davy boy Smith, whipp Davy boy ducks <v Speaker 2>and just jumps it said and knocks him down. <v Speaker 1>What that was supposed to be? <v Speaker 2>And then Dustin Roads comes in, Sid comes the cuts <v Speaker 2>him off. Vader comes in. Dustin is swinging like crazy <v Speaker 2>on Vader and later fox him up punches and kicks. <v Speaker 1>In the corner. Nightmn. This just falls apart. <v Speaker 2>This is a fucking beat down. This is fucking Vader <v Speaker 2>right here. Ye, Babyface is looking awesome in this match. <v Speaker 1>Just the fire. <v Speaker 2>And then Day and then Dustin hits a vertical soup <v Speaker 2>plex on Vader to a big pop, gets the big <v Speaker 2>man over. <v Speaker 1>Massive, yeah, massive. <v Speaker 2>Definitely a hero spot there for dust and he drops <v Speaker 2>an elbow three times and then one of the nuts. <v Speaker 1>As well as Daddy work in the back. I think <v Speaker 1>we can yes ascertain that. I'm thinking, Daddy, you know what, <v Speaker 1>Maybe I think it's about this time that we have <v Speaker 1>Dustin give the leon. Baby. I want you to fell <v Speaker 1>for for Dustan Daddy. I want you to take a <v Speaker 1>suplex from Aprin into the ring. You see what I'm saying, Baby, Yes, <v Speaker 1>and no, no, no, no, no, no, no no. You <v Speaker 1>gotta calm the fuck down, all right, I'm talking about <v Speaker 1>felling for for dusting baby. All right? You need you <v Speaker 1>need the good rubeah on ribs on my meat. I <v Speaker 1>need a rub, all right, babe. <v Speaker 2>Okay, okay, most guys looking for the rub, Vader's looking <v Speaker 2>for the dry rub. Let's speak clear, Okay, I want to. <v Speaker 1>Dry, rub, rub, fucking hug? What is it? Go ahead? <v Speaker 1>You got it, You're You're on it, fucking hung. <v Speaker 2>Try it again. I didn't follow go ahead, start from <v Speaker 2>the top, and then I shit you not. It just <v Speaker 2>caught my eye because I glanced at my phone quickly. <v Speaker 2>This comment on Atreon from Chocolate Egals Detriment Abdul the <v Speaker 2>Butcher one minute, fifty seconds thirty eight fifty minutes thirty <v Speaker 2>eight seconds of this episode, the quote, can I can <v Speaker 2>I just eat something, even if it's just a piece <v Speaker 2>of paper. <v Speaker 1>Part of it? Do you? You know you do miss <v Speaker 1>out on a little bit because you don't see how <v Speaker 1>I'm how I'm moving is Vader? You don't know. That's <v Speaker 1>live show only. I'm doing the move like as he <v Speaker 1>as he would do with his hands like a fucking <v Speaker 1>hungry Oh my god, it's a fucking riot. We should <v Speaker 1>do a brunch with him at the next WrestleMania with Vader. <v Speaker 1>He's dead, that's my point. So we have full rain. <v Speaker 1>Can you imagine if if like, all right, we do <v Speaker 1>we do that brunch, okay, and we say we say <v Speaker 1>Vader is going to show up and just every now <v Speaker 1>and again I'll put on a Vader mask. Don't you <v Speaker 1>in a Vader mask is hilarious. Don't change clothes, no, <v Speaker 1>nothing else. Just like then, I'd talk in Vader for <v Speaker 1>that take it off, I talk normal, and. <v Speaker 2>Then I can play the Kuwaiti reporter that he slaps around. <v Speaker 1>Huh. The fucking fake that feels stake to you. My <v Speaker 1>fucking appat. <v Speaker 2>Taking resumes for the person who wants to play Undertaker, <v Speaker 2>sitting there motionless the whole time behind the sunglasses. <v Speaker 1>Like a scarecrow. <v Speaker 2>Right, yeah, exactly, Yeah, that's a budget, budget conscious way <v Speaker 2>of doing it. <v Speaker 1>You're absolutely right. Just Stephen thinking about that, him just <v Speaker 1>sitting there, he's in character. He doesn't know what to do. Oh, <v Speaker 1>he's not even in character. He's wearing sunglasses and his <v Speaker 1>stupid uh, his biker bandana. Fucking moron. <v Speaker 2>He's never had a character in the back then, even <v Speaker 2>if he wasn't wearing the outfit. I guess he would like, <v Speaker 2>you know, like fans approached him for a picture, he'd <v Speaker 2>like act like he and talk you know so what? Yeah, <v Speaker 2>Dustin taking over with the big vertical superlex and Melbow <v Speaker 2>drops on Vader a clothesline on Vader when he tries <v Speaker 2>to sit up. He's kind of the most I've seen <v Speaker 2>Dustin Rhodes cook before, Like he is fucking going. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>Dusty goes up top. He misses the big elbow drop though, <v Speaker 2>and he knew how to fly on that elbow drop. <v Speaker 2>He crashes the canvas, though. Vader turns Dustin inside out <v Speaker 2>with a huge lariat and it dusn't takes a great <v Speaker 2>bump for that. Vader goes to the middle rope and <v Speaker 2>hits the Vader bomb and that gets to He had <v Speaker 2>just done the moon Salt for the first time at <v Speaker 2>Beach Blast, by the way, or was about it was <v Speaker 2>about two. <v Speaker 1>Yes, wow, he. <v Speaker 2>Had a scorpio show it to him on a trampoline <v Speaker 2>in his backyard. <v Speaker 1>That's wild. <v Speaker 2>And he unveiled it and he has great stuff in <v Speaker 2>his book about fighting with Ollie Anderson about it because <v Speaker 2>always like a big man should not be flying. It <v Speaker 2>is before he did the moon Salt, when he's just <v Speaker 2>coming off the ropes with the splash, he didn't want. <v Speaker 1>Him to do it. He's like, are you serious, Like <v Speaker 1>that's a big guy doing that? Is is where you <v Speaker 1>call money? Yeah, it totally just couldn't. Green comes from it. <v Speaker 2>Was so antithetical to Olie that like it actually it <v Speaker 2>actively bothered him, Like you could ever make the case <v Speaker 2>that it was a negative for WCW that Vader could <v Speaker 2>fly like that. <v Speaker 1>I mean, it's like but like that, that's exactly why <v Speaker 1>he should do it, because nobody else his size does <v Speaker 1>do it. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, of course you like and to him always <v Speaker 2>probably telling himself the reason no nobody else can do <v Speaker 2>it because nobody would ever try because it's fucking stupid. <v Speaker 1>It's like, actually he does it. It's awesome because I <v Speaker 1>wouldn't because he wouldn't do it. <v Speaker 2>Only fire to that road though, because when you get <v Speaker 2>to the point where like the modern style, it's like <v Speaker 2>the same thing. He's the same thing, I know, same <v Speaker 2>same same ethic. <v Speaker 1>Listen, that's the thing, like you have to but as <v Speaker 1>as a as you know, you have to protect it. <v Speaker 1>You can't have every big guy doing a fucking moon salt, <v Speaker 1>whether or not they can get to save it for <v Speaker 1>the one guy who can or now that he's dead, somebody. <v Speaker 2>Else and then the one match it really matters, right, <v Speaker 2>That's why we have to have some fucking moment and <v Speaker 2>people so absolutely Vader bomb scores but only gets too. <v Speaker 2>It's like a transition move. The Vader bomb was not <v Speaker 2>a finisher here at all, not even close. <v Speaker 1>I guess he was working on the power bombs. He <v Speaker 1>was more than anything else now. <v Speaker 2>And it's weird that it was a finishing WWF. But <v Speaker 2>before that in WCW it wasn't. The other way would <v Speaker 2>make sense. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it was, it was at times at times, yeah, <v Speaker 1>not ninety three, I guess. Dustin kicks out like it's nothing. Wow. <v Speaker 2>And then let's see Rick Rude gets in, goes to <v Speaker 2>town on the small the back of Dustin, hooks a <v Speaker 2>high gordbuster on his face and shouts, you ain't shit roads. <v Speaker 1>Awesome, right on, DBS. Let's do it again, Oh fucking <v Speaker 1>rick Rude? Okay, ah, he rude all right. <v Speaker 2>Indeed tries another one, but Dustin blocks it and hits <v Speaker 2>a gordbuster. <v Speaker 1>Rude tag. <v Speaker 2>Sid Sid rakes and kicks and tries to stop a tag. <v Speaker 2>He throws Dustin back into the corner by his throat <v Speaker 2>and again does the arms outstretched thing. Then you know <v Speaker 2>who's the man. I'm the leader of the world or <v Speaker 2>all that stuff. Dustin starts fighting back and Sid catches <v Speaker 2>him coming into the boot and puts the side headlock <v Speaker 2>on your time it is. It's time for Sid to <v Speaker 2>show that he can kip up, even in the middle <v Speaker 2>of a red hot match. <v Speaker 1>For no reason. <v Speaker 2>Sid's going for a headlock takeover so there can be <v Speaker 2>a head sissor counter and then he can kip up. <v Speaker 2>He does claps and close lines sick. <v Speaker 1>Did you do that? Did he ever do that? At <v Speaker 1>in WW at all? That's a question. <v Speaker 2>I don't think he ever did whenever I picked him <v Speaker 2>doing it, it's in WCW. I'm sure he did maybe one. <v Speaker 2>I feel like once he went baby facing, like ninety <v Speaker 2>six and seven. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, and I feel like you would have done it. <v Speaker 1>I don't think ninety six. I feel like ninety six's <v Speaker 1>legs couldn't handle it. <v Speaker 2>Okay, yeah, well yeah, well we learned about what it's <v Speaker 2>legs can handle. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Right, And as Sid, big time clap before you close line, Yes, <v Speaker 2>bring those palms together and then throw. <v Speaker 1>Yes. <v Speaker 2>And he does here against Dustin and gets two off <v Speaker 2>the clothes line. So funny how he insisted I'm getting <v Speaker 2>the clap in just all of a sudden the headlock, <v Speaker 2>so we can do that deep into the match. And <v Speaker 2>then here comes Vader, and I want you to think <v Speaker 2>about this, Okay, just find the point in the match <v Speaker 2>where Sid is the kip up and then the tag Devader. <v Speaker 2>What follows is the ultimate eight to corner blitz, the <v Speaker 2>ultimate one. This is the one. Hi Lo Lo Lo <v Speaker 2>Hi Hi Hi Lo Hi low left right left Hoi <v Speaker 2>and Dustin is getting lit up by Vader. Because this <v Speaker 2>isn't bullshit anymore. Okay, we're to lay him in. The <v Speaker 2>crowd's too hot. I mean a symphony of grunt grunts <v Speaker 2>from Vader. <v Speaker 1>Here. He's just, he's just, he's he's hungry, all right, <v Speaker 1>he hasn't eaten. <v Speaker 2>And another bump Vader he used to do brilliantly. He <v Speaker 2>jumps off the middle rope and lets his opponent power <v Speaker 2>slam them in mid air. Yes, and he does that <v Speaker 2>for Dustin here for the business. <v Speaker 1>My favorite one of that was Owen Hart doing it <v Speaker 1>at One Night Only. <v Speaker 2>That was one of the best bumps of the nineties <v Speaker 2>to me, was Vader jumping into a power slam like that. <v Speaker 2>Tony tells us the hat came off the kernel on <v Speaker 2>that one. I already shited his pants. <v Speaker 1>Tagged a rude ah. Oh no, the plants are on again. Oh, <v Speaker 1>they're wearing down on the backside. <v Speaker 2>Now Rude is going for a tombstone and Dustin reverses it, <v Speaker 2>and what happens. Then the legs are out of Dustin <v Speaker 2>and he Dustin drops Rude so nasty. Oh does I <v Speaker 2>didn't even see that. I his legs are flying out <v Speaker 2>of both sides, hugging, not even hugging his hips. These <v Speaker 2>guys don't know how to do tombstone. Oh it's awful, <v Speaker 2>and it's exactly the kind of tombstone that fucked up <v Speaker 2>Masacono's neck when Steve Austin tried to do it in Japan. <v Speaker 2>So attack to Staying refsteps in, doesn't allow it, heels <v Speaker 2>triple team m Sting still slips in and does David <v Speaker 2>boy Smith, as does Dave boy Smith. So we get <v Speaker 2>a pair of six brawl Sting Invader fighting on the outside. <v Speaker 2>Davy boy Smith and said, on the inside. <v Speaker 1>What's great is that this is one of the funniest <v Speaker 1>fucking things ever because the match completely falls apart, all right, <v Speaker 1>and we know that it was Dustin and Rude in <v Speaker 1>the ring, yes, and may be thirty seconds pass and <v Speaker 1>Jesse loses it and doesn't know who the fuck is legal? <v Speaker 1>Who's legal? Yeah? You did? Nobody fucking tagged? Nobody tagged Jess. <v Speaker 1>It's still rude in Dustin. <v Speaker 2>Get ready for get your finger on the button again. <v Speaker 2>Cant get your finger on the button? What is h <v Speaker 2>What does Jesse say? During a trip to the US border, <v Speaker 2>he went down there and inspected fro himself, sting sores. <v Speaker 2>Actually he went up there up Okay, so the northern border. <v Speaker 1>Okay. I was coming from Mexico. <v Speaker 2>I see all he's coming from, right. <v Speaker 1>I want to know exactly which which person from the <v Speaker 1>United States is legal. I was seeking asylum. I sought <v Speaker 1>asylum in Mexico. I have asylum rights. I live in <v Speaker 1>an asylum. <v Speaker 2>Now we're getting somewhere under international law. I have the <v Speaker 2>full and unadulterated right to declare asylum. <v Speaker 1>As as the former governor of Minnesota and former Navy seal, <v Speaker 1>I have the right to declare asylum in any country <v Speaker 1>I want. Where is that written down? If you become <v Speaker 1>a Navy seal, you can Minnesota constitution. <v Speaker 2>As a former Navy seal, I claim asylum here in <v Speaker 2>Laos Okay, fine, as long as you can prove you're <v Speaker 2>a US Navy seal that carries. <v Speaker 1>A lot of way. Here here I am here, I <v Speaker 1>am Jesse the body Ventura, he says, not his real name, <v Speaker 1>declaring Asylomon Bucharest. That's awesome, Oh, bok arrest is the <v Speaker 1>money one. I am its declaring declaration when he goes <v Speaker 1>the fucking place. So sting Sores and what's that? I said? <v Speaker 1>Who's legal? <v Speaker 2>It's uh like you said, Dustin and Rude, right, huh? <v Speaker 2>Not's that hard to keep track of? And then Sting <v Speaker 2>Sores and missus a splash in the guardrail at ringside. <v Speaker 2>Back in Vader, with the briefcase that Rick Wood brought <v Speaker 2>the US title in. He dings Dustin on the head. <v Speaker 2>With that that allows Rude to fall on top of <v Speaker 2>Dustin Rhodes. For the one, two, three, ten minutes, fifty <v Speaker 2>nine seconds, Vader, Sid and Rick Rude beat Dustin Rhodes, <v Speaker 2>Sting and Davy Boy Smith here a Clash of the <v Speaker 2>Champions twenty three, thus setting up obviously future US title action. <v Speaker 2>Yes indeed between Rude and Dustin a right, So it's <v Speaker 2>Davy to make the save. <v Speaker 1>He's a bit late. <v Speaker 2>Sid grabs him by the dreads and they double team <v Speaker 2>Davy Boy Vader power bombs Davy Boy in the ring <v Speaker 2>and they somehow miss that Rude was going to use <v Speaker 2>the briefcase, but Sting snatches it from him and they scram. <v Speaker 2>Race is standing on the ramp looking around for an <v Speaker 2>excuse to bump. <v Speaker 4>Yeah he is, he's gone, brude, butt me? Got hit <v Speaker 4>me your fucking piece of shit Beta later, but. <v Speaker 1>Me pulling the people for reasons to bump? Gone, would <v Speaker 1>you butt me? How do you want me to bump? <v Speaker 1>I never never agreed to bumping you. <v Speaker 4>Ah. <v Speaker 2>He jumps right into how do you want me to <v Speaker 2>do it? <v Speaker 1>That's the thing. <v Speaker 2>Harley doesn't just have to bump. He has to have <v Speaker 2>someone instruct him to bump. <v Speaker 1>And he needs to have some kind of you know, reason. <v Speaker 1>There needs to be a motivation to bump. Yes, you know. <v Speaker 1>It can't just be him falling. <v Speaker 2>There needs to be a constituent for his bump. There <v Speaker 2>is to be somebody who's waiting his bump. <v Speaker 1>You you how much you pay with your chicken twenty <v Speaker 1>five dollars, sir? A bump? <v Speaker 4>Bump me? Tell me how to bump? Tell me how <v Speaker 4>I know what to me what I need to do? <v Speaker 4>Rationalize my bump. <v Speaker 1>Okay, and just imagine Harley Race going up to a fan, <v Speaker 1>grabbing them by their collar and demanding that they rationalize <v Speaker 1>his bump. <v Speaker 2>That's so money, so money, He's. <v Speaker 1>Such a fiend. Rationalize my bump. <v Speaker 2>Rational justify my thug, right right, exactly, rationalize my bump. <v Speaker 2>And he's grabbing people with his blonde, blonde, short hairs, my. <v Speaker 1>Bump, slapping the fans. Guy, rationalize my bump. Come on, <v Speaker 1>come on, oh my god, he's really fucking foment. Come on, <v Speaker 1>he I love it. <v Speaker 2>I love somebody who doesn't need to fight someone. He <v Speaker 2>needs someone to fight him, you know what I mean. <v Speaker 1>He's so fucking like, he's so programmed, he's so deprived <v Speaker 1>of his of his of his program like he needs <v Speaker 1>he needs someone to hit him so he can fall <v Speaker 1>and get that get that fucking hit of of of <v Speaker 1>his of his uh dopamine from hitting the ground. <v Speaker 2>How fucked up pro wrestler mind is that? Like to <v Speaker 2>feel like a man, you need someone to knock you around, right, <v Speaker 2>daring to knock somebody around and needs someone to knock <v Speaker 2>you around. <v Speaker 1>I need someone to throw me into the into the <v Speaker 1>turn buckle so I can fucking soar over it and <v Speaker 1>get my hit of dopamine. <v Speaker 2>Colonel Sanders panic stepping all over the place, Colonel Sanders calonl. <v Speaker 1>Parker, Yeah, oh it's all squish it's squish it. <v Speaker 2>And Sting stands over his fallen comrades as we go <v Speaker 2>to a break come back bishoffen Liz in the gene position, <v Speaker 2>the one everyone's waiting for. A what's that bish off? <v Speaker 2>And Liz, Yeah, Liz, Larry's abisca. I got LZ written down. <v Speaker 1>Liz tis Liz is I think is what shit? Oh shit? <v Speaker 2>Age is a factor. We're told that the blonds are <v Speaker 2>pointing that out, and they're discussing that, and Zubisco says, <v Speaker 2>this is the match I've been waiting for, summing up <v Speaker 2>one short sweet witticism to be the men, you have <v Speaker 2>to beat the men. Sounds like he said, thanks, Larry Sky, <v Speaker 2>I can't. I'm so glad he's providing perspective here. Sounds <v Speaker 2>like he says, you have to beat them in, like <v Speaker 2>beat their heads in them. <v Speaker 1>You're not you're not You're not wrong with that assessment. <v Speaker 2>And here comes the enterance music that we hate, Flare <v Speaker 2>and Arn Flare in a purple robe and Arnt in <v Speaker 2>the bomber jacket. <v Speaker 1>You know, I don't understand why they can't just have <v Speaker 1>how you miss this? Really? Yeah? I mean this just <v Speaker 1>makes it all. It makes them all bush league. You know, <v Speaker 1>this is why they didn't get the fucking rating. Somehow, this, somehow, <v Speaker 1>this this music took viewers away. It didn't help. It <v Speaker 1>couldn't help. Like like they if they, I would guarantee <v Speaker 1>they probably had like a four point zero rating at <v Speaker 1>this point and then somehow, somehow because of this music <v Speaker 1>it went down to two point Whatever is. <v Speaker 2>The original leave the memories alone moment for a nature <v Speaker 2>Boy members of the Horsemen, they have five each other. <v Speaker 2>On the way down to their baby Faces, Ventura talks <v Speaker 2>about the two thirds rule that the match is going <v Speaker 2>to be contested under and how that goes back to <v Speaker 2>a number goes back a number of times in wrestling, <v Speaker 2>a number of years in wrestling, and Tony says the <v Speaker 2>first world title that Rick flaer one was in nineteen <v Speaker 2>seventy nine. It was not, it was an eighty one. <v Speaker 2>There's a dot matrix print out banner in the crowd <v Speaker 2>from a print shop. <v Speaker 1>Okay, oh my god. To be the man, you have <v Speaker 1>to beat the men at Reids didn't, didn't he He <v Speaker 1>won the US title in seventy nine, and he he probably, Yeah, <v Speaker 1>I think you won it first time in seventy six. <v Speaker 2>I think five. I think it was five. That's when <v Speaker 2>he first started feuding with Steamboat. And here they come. <v Speaker 2>It is King, King, King, k k k kank kank <v Speaker 2>kN king, and they would repurpose that music. <v Speaker 1>Kink kink It's great, Yeah, I really really is. It's <v Speaker 1>such as what you want. Yeah, yeah, it's good. It's <v Speaker 1>good music for them, I remember who. <v Speaker 2>But they would repurpose that years later for like meaningless <v Speaker 2>heels during the nWo era, A lot of these songs that. <v Speaker 1>Like they did do that. You're right, you're right. I <v Speaker 1>do remember that. <v Speaker 2>The blonde cotton jackets with a star in the back <v Speaker 2>with the camera rolling the hand gesture. The Battle of <v Speaker 2>the decades were told us the nineteen nineties versus the <v Speaker 2>nineteen thirties, Austin with that hard part man, that hard part. <v Speaker 1>Oh, I mean, it's it's just it's so funny how <v Speaker 1>he by the way, he won it seventy seven the <v Speaker 1>first time, did their best title? Yeah, yeah, he did <v Speaker 1>win in seventy nine, two he came in in seventy five. <v Speaker 1>I think it was. <v Speaker 6>The Uh. <v Speaker 1>It's just such a weird thing because like you had, <v Speaker 1>it's not like again, he can't part his hair any <v Speaker 1>other way. It has to be parted that decide, because <v Speaker 1>on that on my whatever side, the left or I'm <v Speaker 1>gonna say the left side, all that here on the <v Speaker 1>other side of the part that would go down the <v Speaker 1>side of his head is all short, so funny, I'm <v Speaker 1>the same length, and so it's got to go. It's <v Speaker 1>like a weird co mover thing. It has to be <v Speaker 1>parted that way. Such a great thing to say about. <v Speaker 1>Stunning Steve Austin. <v Speaker 2>He still has the laugh face, the open mouth laugh. <v Speaker 2>He's got that already. Ah and Pilmo the scruffy beard <v Speaker 2>now in the flowing hair buffer. Ladies and gentlemen. This <v Speaker 2>is the best two out of three falls. Once again, <v Speaker 2>your referee is Nick Patrick. And now the Clash of <v Speaker 2>the Champions. <v Speaker 1>I do we know it's the best two out of <v Speaker 1>three falls? We don't. We haven't even seen the match. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>let me be the judge of that. And now the <v Speaker 1>Clash of the Champions continues. This contest is for the <v Speaker 1>tag team Heavyweight Championship of the World as opposed to <v Speaker 1>the Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship of the World. You can <v Speaker 1>hear him kind of pause. How do I do this <v Speaker 1>for two title holders? <v Speaker 2>Like, yeah, the first time I've ever had to call <v Speaker 2>a match with two champions or announce a match with <v Speaker 2>two champions in it. From Norfolk, Virginia, let's get ready <v Speaker 2>to rumble, big fight feel all four in the ring <v Speaker 2>pacing introducing first the challengers, two members of the Horseman <v Speaker 2>First from Minneapolis, Minnesota, weighing in two hundred and sixty <v Speaker 2>one and one quarter pounds and one half pounds, and <v Speaker 2>we're in the white colors. He's a four time tag <v Speaker 2>team champion with four different partners. Flair starts clapping. He's <v Speaker 2>a former world television champion who has ten years of <v Speaker 2>experience as a pro Ladies and gentlemen. <v Speaker 1>I thought everybody say, he said, who has tenure. <v Speaker 2>Well, it's tenure at the University of Georgia Macon. <v Speaker 1>Professor Anderson. Oh Jesus, Now, there's a lot of things <v Speaker 1>about the psychology the business I can teach you about. Well, <v Speaker 1>we're going to start with the basics. You got my spot, <v Speaker 1>I got your spot. Uh, I thought this was psychology <v Speaker 1>one on one. Well, it apparently I had a misunderstanding <v Speaker 1>of what we meant by psychology. <v Speaker 5>It is. <v Speaker 1>It's ring psychology one on one. <v Speaker 2>Oh shit, that would be a class Emerson would offer. <v Speaker 2>Oh could be tricked into intellectualizing it. Yeah, ye, bring <v Speaker 2>psychology one. <v Speaker 1>On one by uh, taught by doctor ken File. <v Speaker 2>Like another one of these things pieces about how actually <v Speaker 2>Trump took everything from WWE though you know, you know. <v Speaker 1>They're just like they need they're like trying to figure <v Speaker 1>out a way they can do a class that compares <v Speaker 1>professional wrestling with the current political climate, absolusolutely absolutely the <v Speaker 1>class professional wrestling and the current political climate, Well, there's actually. <v Speaker 2>A lot of crossover there, So hey, you probably teach <v Speaker 2>a hell of a class about that. <v Speaker 1>Taught by doctor ken File as he goes over the <v Speaker 1>postmodernity of of it all as well, right. <v Speaker 2>And how the signifiers have now been detached from the <v Speaker 2>signified God. And we can get Fuco in there too, <v Speaker 2>Yes we can, Ladies and gentlemen for the legendary Anderson family, <v Speaker 2>introducing the enforcer Arn Anderson Flair high fives and his <v Speaker 2>partner wearing purple and weighing into two hundred and thirty <v Speaker 2>six pounds from Charlotte, North Carolina. We have one of <v Speaker 2>the legends of pro wrestling. In almost two decades of competition, <v Speaker 2>he has over six thousand matches, making him one of <v Speaker 2>the all time superstars of the sport. Ladies and Gentlemen <v Speaker 2>presenting the nine time professional Wrestling Heavyweight Champion of the <v Speaker 2>World on and Only Nature Boy rock Flair. I like <v Speaker 2>that thing about how many matches you've had. I think <v Speaker 2>that's a good stat I do too, not wins or losses, <v Speaker 2>just put over how long they've been doing this. <v Speaker 1>Yep. I agree. <v Speaker 2>It's greats him seem special that they've had that many matches, <v Speaker 2>you know, and their opponents weighing in at a combined <v Speaker 2>four hundred and seventy six pounds. Wearing black and silver, <v Speaker 2>they have over one hundred title defensa sy it works, <v Speaker 2>and they are the self proclaimed tag team of the <v Speaker 2>nineteen nineties Ladies and Gentlemen from Hollywood, California, undisputed tag <v Speaker 2>team Heavyweight Champions of the World, Flying Brian and Stunning Steve. <v Speaker 1>The Hollywood blond They hoist the straps with smiles. Signed <v Speaker 1>Stunning Steve stud. <v Speaker 2>Yes, imagine that person who was so excited by Stunning <v Speaker 2>Steve and then watching the Rise of Stone Cold Steve <v Speaker 2>Austin years later. <v Speaker 1>Oh okay, I I I love that's the stunning Steve guy. <v Speaker 1>I loved him. Yep, I I you know, I can <v Speaker 1>honestly say I was not that person. But yeah, like <v Speaker 1>cheering for him. But there was a you know I've <v Speaker 1>said I did. I was a a a fan of <v Speaker 1>his in a way. And to be clear, this isn't <v Speaker 1>a this isn't a male fan. It's a female fan <v Speaker 1>calling him a stud. Right, Oh yeah, for sure? Uh yeah, <v Speaker 1>Well she was. <v Speaker 2>Holding the sign at least I don't know it was <v Speaker 2>her sign, but she h. She went on to watch Austin. <v Speaker 2>Is he still hot? <v Speaker 1>You know what I mean? When he goes bald and <v Speaker 1>he's totally different, fascinating to think about. Or how about <v Speaker 1>when it first comes up to you, when you get <v Speaker 1>the buzz cut? Right, you know all these things. <v Speaker 2>So Nick Patrick hoist the straps and they pace and <v Speaker 2>mad dog each other and here we go made event <v Speaker 2>time Clash the Champions twenty three Hollywood Blondes versus Rick <v Speaker 2>Flair and Arn Anderson, Arn and Pilman start off. Pilman <v Speaker 2>does the hair slick back and shows the wild eyes <v Speaker 2>at Flair mark mocking and uh and it gets gets <v Speaker 2>a rise out of Flair and pops Jesse as well. <v Speaker 6>And look at this flying doing his mimic of the <v Speaker 6>nature Boy. He gets a smile out of the nature <v Speaker 6>Boy on it. <v Speaker 1>That's really good. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, And Double A slaps the arm before the lock up, <v Speaker 2>thank God, to warm it up. To the corner they go, <v Speaker 2>Brian separates and does the crank all about communication indeed, <v Speaker 2>and and and equipment too indeed. <v Speaker 6>Uh. <v Speaker 2>When they separate in the corner with a clean break, <v Speaker 2>Brian just does the slow camera crank in Arn's face. <v Speaker 1>It's pretty awesome. That's fantastic. <v Speaker 2>Lock up in a headlock and Double A gang some <v Speaker 2>down flare it is on the apron and does the <v Speaker 2>the Rick Flair strut and the hair strut or whatever. <v Speaker 2>And again Brian Pillman he comes up and chops Double <v Speaker 2>A hard in the corner. It's awesome. He slaps his <v Speaker 2>face and I swear to god, Brian Pillman slaps Double <v Speaker 2>A in the face and goes, you fucking bitch. And <v Speaker 2>then when he does that, Arn goes totally nuts out. <v Speaker 1>Of the corner. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, as you should, Yeah, exactly, big right hands, until <v Speaker 2>Pilman finally bumps and begs off. Pilman though he thumbs <v Speaker 2>the eye yes, and then start throwing some chops. The <v Speaker 2>corner to corner is reversed and Pillman does a kip <v Speaker 2>up in his cot and hot shot it on the <v Speaker 2>top rope. <v Speaker 1>And there is there is such incredible money when it <v Speaker 1>comes to you've got popular legends against cocky heel youngsters. Absolutely, <v Speaker 1>and there is something it's just like the perfect distillation <v Speaker 1>of it in pro wrestling. <v Speaker 5>It is. <v Speaker 1>It absolutely is because because Ron and Flair are just <v Speaker 1>at that point, yes, where they can be considered old, <v Speaker 1>you know for the sport, because they've been there for <v Speaker 1>a long time, right, And Pilman and Austin are just <v Speaker 1>young enough to. <v Speaker 2>Say the quiet part out loud yep and then get <v Speaker 2>stomped on because the guys aren't so old that it <v Speaker 2>isn't believable when they whip that ass. <v Speaker 1>Right. <v Speaker 2>It's like the dad whose teenage son thinks he can <v Speaker 2>kick his ass but he finds out not quite yet. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, you had to wait a few more years. <v Speaker 2>Right, So good. This is such good stuff. So Pilman <v Speaker 2>thumb's the eye chop corner to corner whip is reversed. <v Speaker 2>Pilman kIPS up and gets caught and hot shotted on <v Speaker 2>the ropes and then he starts kicking him in the ribs. <v Speaker 2>Tag to Austin, and Austin makes the tag. He comes in, <v Speaker 2>makes fun of double A, calls him a fat gut boy. <v Speaker 2>He makes the hand gesture ru on his stomach. <v Speaker 1>I love that he's fucking making fun of his belly. <v Speaker 2>Walks around like a fat guy. <v Speaker 1>It's hardly there, like he's just the fattest guy in <v Speaker 1>the ring. But it's like, I know, it's not fat <v Speaker 1>at all, so unfair. <v Speaker 2>Arne used to say, you know, here's the key. If <v Speaker 2>you got a belly, tan it because fat looks better tanned. <v Speaker 1>He's right about that, all right, all right, And I <v Speaker 1>write that one down. <v Speaker 2>Legitimate pop from a Ventura. By the way, when he <v Speaker 2>he balks Flair like you played lock up in Austin <v Speaker 2>with the headlock push off tackle, Flair takes it back <v Speaker 2>elbow by Steve Austin. By the way, it's Wick Flair <v Speaker 2>versus Steve Austin. Okay, can we can we we appreciate <v Speaker 2>what we're seeing here. <v Speaker 1>No, we can't, actually, wow, we can't. It's too it's <v Speaker 1>too it's too much, too much to handle. <v Speaker 2>It takes that back elbow from Austin. Arn sweeps the <v Speaker 2>leg and we want flair chance and boom there's the <v Speaker 2>tag flares and they're strutting with stone cold. He puts <v Speaker 2>a hand out and does the hair thing and woos <v Speaker 2>in Pilman's face and then poke Steve Austin in the <v Speaker 2>eye to a huge pop. And then he starts throwing <v Speaker 2>the chops. What a baby face flair could be? I noted, <v Speaker 2>mm hmm maam big chick weapon a backdrop. Austin goes <v Speaker 2>up is only he can tucking the head of the <v Speaker 2>last second, Flair drags Pilman into the ring and kicks <v Speaker 2>his ass. Double A stumps Steve Austin. It is chaos, <v Speaker 2>Flair chopping and fish hooking Austin out to the corner. <v Speaker 1>Chop right. <v Speaker 2>Austin goes down. Flair's just you know, dancing around, grabs <v Speaker 2>Pillman as Double A ram Steve Austin into the post. <v Speaker 2>There's a corner to corner. Irish whip in at back <v Speaker 2>elbow by Rick Flair that drops Brian Pillman. Steve Austin <v Speaker 2>comes in on his knees and Flair is ripping at <v Speaker 2>the mouth, pulling the insides of his cheek, just going nuts. <v Speaker 2>This is a babyface Rick Flair. And then Steve Austin <v Speaker 2>thumbs the eye and hits the floor and does that <v Speaker 2>stuttering around fall against the rail that he did such <v Speaker 2>a brilliant job with, like he couldn't keep his footing. <v Speaker 2>And then Buffer just sitting there next to Gary Michael <v Speaker 2>Kopetta and GMC has to sit there and just. <v Speaker 1>Look and just get bigly, just look at the guy. Yep, <v Speaker 1>why couldn't he go to the back. Nope, he's not needed. <v Speaker 1>He's like, yeah, I gotta stand out here. I gotta <v Speaker 1>try to matter. Unreal. <v Speaker 2>Austin slides into the ring and shoots a double and <v Speaker 2>starts pummeling Flair. <v Speaker 1>Guarrants it don't matter when Buffer's up there, isn't. <v Speaker 2>That bitchoff's son. Austin slides in, shoots the double on <v Speaker 2>Flair and starts pumbling him. A Flair slips out of <v Speaker 2>control to the to the corner. They go bam, chops <v Speaker 2>are flying, and this is where I determine the chops <v Speaker 2>are better as a baby face if you can believe it. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, I can see that. <v Speaker 2>To the corner, Double A dragged in and stomps Steve <v Speaker 2>Austin tagged and I should say and stomp Steve Austin. <v Speaker 2>Austin pops Jesse by trying to sneak in a timeout <v Speaker 2>call while he's on his ass getting stomped. You can <v Speaker 2>call a time out while you're getting the bootsticking. Yes, <v Speaker 2>Double A with an arm ringer to the left arm <v Speaker 2>and then slams them down on the hammer lock. Jesse <v Speaker 2>Ventura says they last remember Tony that Rick Flair and <v Speaker 2>Double A uh don't have age on their side. And <v Speaker 2>the longer the match goes, jesse Ventura has to say, <v Speaker 2>advantage Hollywood blonds. Flair comes in the snap there and <v Speaker 2>a knee drop on Steve Austin and he knocks Pilling <v Speaker 2>off the apron tagged to Double A, who's cranking the <v Speaker 2>arm talk about there's there's a discussion on the air <v Speaker 2>about Flitter's new gym and Charlotte for some reason. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, this is all It's funny because they they talk <v Speaker 1>about well because it's uh, they're talking about the age <v Speaker 1>and and and and Tony disagrees to that because of <v Speaker 1>because uh uh uh you know, because they work out <v Speaker 1>and there and there and they're whatever here Listen. <v Speaker 7>Eric Claire has been known as probably the most the <v Speaker 7>finest condition athlete. <v Speaker 6>The sport has ever seen. The longer goes, the stronger <v Speaker 6>he gets. <v Speaker 1>That was the old days. <v Speaker 7>That wasn't that is now. <v Speaker 1>Talking? <v Speaker 6>You're sayings now when it's his first time back in <v Speaker 6>the rage was he in the greatest shape of his life, got. <v Speaker 1>A brand new gym and Seanta, North Carolina, always an <v Speaker 1>immecula condition. <v Speaker 6>And what's that called flair for the golds? <v Speaker 1>Jesus, he's on fire. He took that one right out <v Speaker 1>of my mouth. Not fair. Oh my god, he's so <v Speaker 1>fucking he's he's awesome. Pilman with that terrible towel, Maybe <v Speaker 1>the age is gonna be a detriment, just like chocolate. <v Speaker 1>Chocolate equals detriment. <v Speaker 5>Uh. <v Speaker 2>Pilman with that nasty towel from the apron tries to <v Speaker 2>use to choke the guy grabs double as he hits <v Speaker 2>the ropes and wraps it around his throat. Double a <v Speaker 2>with a jawbreaker gets free, but Austin's on him like <v Speaker 2>a rabbit animal with stomps. So mission accomplished. Nick Patrick <v Speaker 2>presiding by the way he gets in Steve Austin's face <v Speaker 2>for choking while Pilman actually chokes behind the referee's back. <v Speaker 2>Pilman comes in at the jawbreaker and chokes double a <v Speaker 2>on the canvas. Tony talks about the Flair cousin to <v Speaker 2>the Anderson's thing and how he's actually family in a way, <v Speaker 2>which is just a hilarious cave thing that survived forever. <v Speaker 1>That actually it always bothered me for some reason, like <v Speaker 1>I don't I don't want Flair to be for some reason, <v Speaker 1>Flair being a cousin of Arna Anderson and Olie Anderson <v Speaker 1>makes me think of incest. Really, yeah, it just makes it. <v Speaker 1>I don't like it. I don't like it at all. <v Speaker 1>It does to me bring down Flair a notch. I <v Speaker 1>want that. I want him to be I want them <v Speaker 1>to be hired guns for Flair. It like he's not. <v Speaker 1>He didn't. He didn't team up with them because they're <v Speaker 1>family or whatever, because there they have that bond. He <v Speaker 1>teamed up with them because they're the ones who can <v Speaker 1>take care of business for Flair. <v Speaker 2>Really interesting, really interesting. I wonder if people share that <v Speaker 2>I don't know that sentiment. So now you have Pilman <v Speaker 2>biting Double A. DAGs Austin mentor says, maybe the arthritis <v Speaker 2>is bothering Arnie Hurson a little bit. Tony says, did <v Speaker 2>you read some medical report that I'm not reading? Tony <v Speaker 2>of course nervous that there's an info out there that <v Speaker 2>he doesn't have. <v Speaker 1>Hoard from his partner. He's sitting there saying, shit, I <v Speaker 1>should I should wear the Wall Street Journal, just like <v Speaker 1>or USA today, just like just did. <v Speaker 2>Seve Boston lanying and knees on the mat to the <v Speaker 2>corner they go and Double A fire's out with a <v Speaker 2>head butt, but still kind of loopy as Anderson is <v Speaker 2>slammed into the boot of Brian Pillman by Steve Austin. <v Speaker 2>Pillman gets in and slams Double A's head into the canvas, <v Speaker 2>and Rick Flair is wooing trying to get the crowd <v Speaker 2>support behind Double A. Pilman steps to Flair with that <v Speaker 2>psycho face he has. You're like, come on, you know, <v Speaker 2>like you know the face yep, tags in Steve Austin, <v Speaker 2>we want Flair, chance, No one cares about Double A <v Speaker 2>at all. <v Speaker 1>They want Flair to go. Sorry, dude, Steve with a <v Speaker 1>great vertical good second, he's a good second for for Flair. <v Speaker 2>I want to see a fucking vertical supplex. How about <v Speaker 2>Steve taking over Double A here, Oh Jesus, perfection, just <v Speaker 2>like he had to lift like a big heavy load <v Speaker 2>to get it over, you know. <v Speaker 1>And and when you have that and you can actually <v Speaker 1>sell that, it's it's just it's it's incomparable to the corner. <v Speaker 2>Double A starts firing out headbutt falls in his ass <v Speaker 2>in the corner as to Steve Austin, and Double A <v Speaker 2>sits there and waits for the colaps to start, you know, <v Speaker 2>to get the crowd and it win. Steve Austin leaps <v Speaker 2>and misses and then does the camera thing and but <v Speaker 2>no he doesn't, he doesn't miss. He does the camera <v Speaker 2>thing instead of missing. Yep, so good, and Anderson d <v Speaker 2>D tease him. <v Speaker 1>I mean. <v Speaker 2>When he does that, they're on their fucking feet. <v Speaker 1>Ye, it's the The timing of all four of these <v Speaker 1>men is unparalleled to to anybody. <v Speaker 2>I mean, to think of the d d T. You know, <v Speaker 2>how Arn would sneak in that d d T to <v Speaker 2>think of the spot that I'm gonna do it when <v Speaker 2>when Steve is doing the Hollywood blonde camera crank thing, <v Speaker 2>the taunt is just so brilliant. <v Speaker 1>It's it's it's and it's great. Yeah, because they've they've <v Speaker 1>they've sold the camera crank as being this, you know, <v Speaker 1>this just insufferable taunt. And so for arn to come <v Speaker 1>in there and he is I'm gonna say this, okay, <v Speaker 1>and so and and given how we feel, this is <v Speaker 1>gonna this is gonna be very very It's a bold statement. <v Speaker 1>I think. Not all the time, but there are times <v Speaker 1>and this one is one of those times where Arn't <v Speaker 1>Anderson's stealth like explosion I wouldn't even say explosion, but <v Speaker 1>just the way he is able to to fire off <v Speaker 1>the DDT is better than Jake. Wow. Not all the time, <v Speaker 1>but when he does that surprise out of know where DDT, <v Speaker 1>because he is so fast, the way he drops with <v Speaker 1>the move, Okay, so fast, I. <v Speaker 2>Mean, these people are losing their minds when he does this, <v Speaker 2>losing They involuntarily rise to their feet. I feel like, yeah, right, <v Speaker 2>they don't even have a control over their bodies. That's <v Speaker 2>how fucking awesome it is when he does this DDT <v Speaker 2>like this, fucking hell man, where's that the next time <v Speaker 2>you see a pop like that? <v Speaker 1>For a DDT? Nowhere? And all the pieces are there <v Speaker 1>because because of the build up of the haunt, because <v Speaker 1>it means so much, because double A has to dig deep, <v Speaker 1>and he has to dig deep. Double A's on his <v Speaker 1>last legs, and so all of that is just the <v Speaker 1>story is there. The story is there, and they're using <v Speaker 1>every bit of information that the fans have, and it's <v Speaker 1>so brilliant. It's so brilliant, so awesome. <v Speaker 2>So I say one of those clear the decks moments <v Speaker 2>like nope, now it's now, We're now, we're fucking on <v Speaker 2>a whole. <v Speaker 1>New level totally. And here by the way, uh so <v Speaker 1>Jesse also right before this, he assumes that makes the <v Speaker 1>assumption that Tony would compare flair and on to you know, <v Speaker 1>fine wine and cheese. <v Speaker 6>I guess you'd have to say about flair and iron, <v Speaker 6>they're like pin pitch wine, Tony right verse, they get <v Speaker 6>better with age, absolutely, But right now Arn's looking like <v Speaker 6>a bottle. <v Speaker 1>I'm a ripper. <v Speaker 6>Ricked across the colorhead. <v Speaker 1>Jesse, would you please what get you one? <v Speaker 5>No? <v Speaker 1>Would you please stay off of us. <v Speaker 6>What do you prefer pagan pink. <v Speaker 11>Uh okay, jess oh Man, you prefer pagan pink. <v Speaker 1>Chev on me? <v Speaker 2>After that, DDT Double A is trying to get to <v Speaker 2>Flair and Pilman chop blocks him, but arn still falls <v Speaker 2>into the tag and Flair comes off the top of <v Speaker 2>the double axe handle. He's chopping and throwing in the <v Speaker 2>crowd's like whoa, whoa, whoa everything he does. Pilman into <v Speaker 2>the corner all Rick Flair with an inverted atomic drop <v Speaker 2>with Steve Austin now as well back elbow, and Steve <v Speaker 2>spills out of the ring beautifully. <v Speaker 1>Yes he does. <v Speaker 2>And then Pilman's begging off and Flair goes to the <v Speaker 2>corner mounted punches, and then Steve Austin slips in and <v Speaker 2>nails him from behind. The Blondes are double teaming on <v Speaker 2>him double with Flair ducks the double line and then <v Speaker 2>Double A enters the frame and pulls down Steve Austin <v Speaker 2>and Flair does a flying forearm. He does like he's <v Speaker 2>Tito Santana fucking El Burrito whatever the Norfolk Norfolk. <v Speaker 1>Uh to to. <v Speaker 2>Pillman slamashes him in the face with the forearm one, <v Speaker 2>two three, it's over for the first fall. This is <v Speaker 2>the closest I've ever seen to Flair using his WCW <v Speaker 2>Nintendo game finisher. <v Speaker 1>I know which uh by you know anybody who knows <v Speaker 1>how two out of three falls matches work. It means <v Speaker 1>the Horsemen will certainly lose, right if they win the <v Speaker 1>first fall. You don't win the you don't win the <v Speaker 1>entire match. Not just a guarantee it goes three falls, <v Speaker 1>it's a guarantee that Babyface is winning the first fall. <v Speaker 1>Don't win? Yes, fascinating, Yes, uh so? Then Buffer grabs <v Speaker 1>the mic and starts saying, ladies and gentlemen, unbelievable. The <v Speaker 1>winners a new heavyweight tag team, and they face such <v Speaker 1>a fan that he forgot what two out of three <v Speaker 1>falls were. Yeah, even though he specifically emphasized it on falls, <v Speaker 1>he you know, he wasn't even fucking he was doing <v Speaker 1>the nineteen ninety three equivalent of scrolling on his phone. <v Speaker 2>Exactly nailed it, and he's acted like the titles have <v Speaker 2>changed hands. God, that must have taken the fucking steam. <v Speaker 1>Out of the building. You made. <v Speaker 2>They couldn't go to commercial fast enough. <v Speaker 1>Bischoff must have been pissed. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, because that's on him right to bring this guy in. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>and hand him the reins for such an important moment. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>they've got a break. They come back and there's another <v Speaker 2>ding and we continue and Tony's sister and the whole break. <v Speaker 2>Flair is tending to double A's hurt knees, so that's <v Speaker 2>the psychologist. Double A goes to the Apron. They mentioned <v Speaker 2>he'd had a knee injury earlier in his career, and <v Speaker 2>now it's acting up again. As Flair mixed it up <v Speaker 2>with Pillman. There's a shift in the corner and Pillman <v Speaker 2>now is throwing the hard chops, but it's Flair reversing <v Speaker 2>and nailing him. They're exchanging intensely here on TBS or <v Speaker 2>Brian Pelman and Rick flairquner to corner Whip. Flair goes <v Speaker 2>inside out to the Apron because why not another half star, right. <v Speaker 1>I mean, hey, you know, you might as well just <v Speaker 1>take them take him add more, get it done. <v Speaker 2>I mean, now, when Flair goes inside out of the corner, <v Speaker 2>he likes to land on his feet in the apron <v Speaker 2>and then take off running. What if he takes off <v Speaker 2>running and chops two people on the way. That's what <v Speaker 2>happens here, that's what you should do. Takes him both down, <v Speaker 2>but Pilman knocks Flair off the apron and he leaps <v Speaker 2>into the outside. Steve Austin suplex is Ric Flair down <v Speaker 2>on the ringside, Blue mats Flair with the O gods, <v Speaker 2>cell I'll give out there at all, just even to <v Speaker 2>or clarifies, Oh gives Ric Flair, picks the ankle from <v Speaker 2>the floor and drags out Pilman, but Pillan throws hard <v Speaker 2>chops at him like crazy and rakes the eyes. Flair <v Speaker 2>puts him into the rail in a great fall by <v Speaker 2>the nature boys. He eats the steel. Austin then hot <v Speaker 2>shots Rick Flair on the rail and he flare flops <v Speaker 2>on the mat for the industry and to ensure that <v Speaker 2>televisions stay tuned to WTBS. He pulls Ric Flair back <v Speaker 2>in and he's held open for Steve Austin. The chops <v Speaker 2>are not so great here for a moment, but then <v Speaker 2>the Steve Austin's chops were never the best. No, Pillman's <v Speaker 2>were way better, and Flares, of course were premium. But <v Speaker 2>I was like, whoa, his chops are a fucking not <v Speaker 2>rising to the occasion here, he should not throw chops. <v Speaker 2>Pillman then chokes Flair with a towel kind of thing. <v Speaker 1>I don't think I agree. I don't think uh uh uh. <v Speaker 1>Austin never had decent chops. <v Speaker 2>No, he really didn't, like you picked him throwing him <v Speaker 2>and it's like, oh, that was kind of like limp wristed, <v Speaker 2>you know. Yeah, he just didn't have the the he <v Speaker 2>didn't have the hip turn for it. He would just <v Speaker 2>like throw all arm right. I feel like Pillman chokes <v Speaker 2>Flair of the towels, the ref distract the double A <v Speaker 2>protests and that allows Steve Austin to double team him <v Speaker 2>as well. Jess a Ventura doesn't do says it doesn't <v Speaker 2>do double A any good to come in the ring <v Speaker 2>at this point, just stay out there. As Steve Austin <v Speaker 2>purchased Flair up the top, he goes up to the <v Speaker 2>door rope and hits a middle rope superplex on the <v Speaker 2>Nature Boy. Very nice execution here from Steve Austin. Flair <v Speaker 2>with the O Gods sails Steve Boston covers gets one <v Speaker 2>two and Ventor tells yells at Tony for not being <v Speaker 2>as excited because the blondes are winning as he was <v Speaker 2>when Ric Flair was dominating and accuses him of you know, <v Speaker 2>partisanship yep. And then Steve Boston corner to corner on Flair, <v Speaker 2>who hits the bucklet hard. Austin digs in the shoulders <v Speaker 2>in the corner. Flair goes for the eyes, biting between <v Speaker 2>as best he can between the two. Great desperation coming <v Speaker 2>across here in Ric Flair's cell job and then for <v Speaker 2>absolutely you know what I mean, he's like he's about <v Speaker 2>to die, basically. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, it's great. Claire of the Boot. <v Speaker 2>Starts chopping out of the corner, Tony calling him legendaries. <v Speaker 2>He goes to work. He collapses. Steve Austin on him <v Speaker 2>with elbows immediately, and then Pilman comes in with some chops. <v Speaker 2>Flair reverses and lays him in side headlock push off <v Speaker 2>Pillman Duck's mid ring collision. Both he and Flair go down. <v Speaker 2>Both begin to stir attack to Steve. Austin tag too <v Speaker 2>double A that gets a mild pop whip in a backdrop. <v Speaker 2>Austin goes up and over nicely for him. I'm not sure, Steve, <v Speaker 2>I'm not sure. A double A hot tag was in <v Speaker 2>the on the bingo card of these fans, but yeah, <v Speaker 2>they go with it. Whipping a right to the gut, <v Speaker 2>boot to the head and he drops Brian Pillman in <v Speaker 2>the left hand as double A whip up for the <v Speaker 2>spine buster on Steve Austin and he absolutely scores. He <v Speaker 2>fucking nails it an offense of Dynamo. <v Speaker 1>He was, he really was. Tell you he gets uh. <v Speaker 1>I mean, he gets a lot of credit, but I <v Speaker 1>still think he's underrated, honestly as an interning performer. I <v Speaker 1>think there's there's a lot that he uh that he <v Speaker 1>had to offer that I don't think people really recognize <v Speaker 1>and as much true or at least as much as <v Speaker 1>they should have. <v Speaker 2>So a spinebuster on Steve Austin lateral press, but Pillman <v Speaker 2>makes the same flair, gets in the ref grabs ric <v Speaker 2>Flair to stop him from interfering. That allows Pilman to <v Speaker 2>chop block double A behind the referees back. Steve Austin <v Speaker 2>covers for two great kickout. <v Speaker 1>Thought that was it. <v Speaker 2>Thought that was going to be the second fall YEP. <v Speaker 2>Then Ventura mentions Sam White of the Bengals, who apparently <v Speaker 2>is the guy who did the chop block. Pilman gets in, <v Speaker 2>dropping bows on the knee, drapes it on the rope, <v Speaker 2>and sits on it. Tony references the t Rex in <v Speaker 2>Jurassic Park. <v Speaker 1>Oh here, listen, listen is yeah, I got that. <v Speaker 7>Source wreck a Terrissic Park when they smell blood. <v Speaker 10>Big and wild. <v Speaker 1>Uh, that's not he's I mean, I know he's making <v Speaker 1>a a a contemporary hot contemporary reference, but there was <v Speaker 1>never that was never the thing smelling blood with the <v Speaker 1>t Rex. It's jaws that you get the wrong spiel bird. Yes, <v Speaker 1>that's right, Okay, Tony when he said that it's a <v Speaker 1>weird and I don't I don't think they frenzied. Did <v Speaker 1>t rexes ripped from the headlines here by Tony Schiavanni. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Double A to the corner, trying to fight out of it, <v Speaker 2>but Pilman is staying on him. He drapes the leg <v Speaker 2>and I'm gonna rope and laze him and he tries <v Speaker 2>to whip double out of the corner and Double A collapses. <v Speaker 2>He can't even run the ropes. Pilman tries to capitalize <v Speaker 2>with the cover, but it only gets too tagged. Steve Austin, <v Speaker 2>who digs his knee in the leg of Double A. <v Speaker 2>He's cranking on it. Double A turns over and flips <v Speaker 2>Steve Austin and bit of ingenuity. But Steve Austin is <v Speaker 2>still clutching the ankle on the mat, refusing to let <v Speaker 2>Anderson drag himself to the corner. Yesble, he's trying to <v Speaker 2>kick Austin's head to get free. And Touris says, who <v Speaker 2>called two out of three falls would be the champions? <v Speaker 2>Tony says they wanted it. He says, about your second guess, <v Speaker 2>and it right now, because I would be the champs if. <v Speaker 1>It was one fall. <v Speaker 2>And so Flair and Anderson are basically idiots for insisting <v Speaker 2>on two out of three. Of course, Pilman applying a <v Speaker 2>half crab to the damaged leg of Double A, and <v Speaker 2>then Austin comes in and touches Pilman's forehead like that <v Speaker 2>adds to the pressure. He just he literally reaches from <v Speaker 2>the apron touches Pilman on the forehead like he's baptizing him. <v Speaker 2>I hate that that's supposed to add torque to the <v Speaker 2>half crab. <v Speaker 1>I hate that when when just a simple touch of <v Speaker 1>something looks so stupid, it's always such bullshit. <v Speaker 2>And then Pilman with a single leg pick up double <v Speaker 2>A fires off and in zaguri and that's enough to <v Speaker 2>drop Pilman and give him some time. Double A brilliantly <v Speaker 2>pulls himself along the ropes because his leg doesn't work, <v Speaker 2>so he's got to use the bottom rope to basically <v Speaker 2>climb to the corner. But Austin is too quick and <v Speaker 2>goes off on the leg and stops the tag. He <v Speaker 2>pulls Douba back to the blonde corner and sits down <v Speaker 2>on the leg and Pilman rams it under the apron. <v Speaker 2>Then Pilman, with a snapmare, goes to the middle ropes <v Speaker 2>and leaps into the extended foot of Arn Anderson Pilman <v Speaker 2>eating the boot there and then Anderson milk and the <v Speaker 2>tag he can't stand. He falls into it and he <v Speaker 2>makes the tag flares in and he lunges at Steve <v Speaker 2>Austen and goes off with hands on Austin in the corner. <v Speaker 2>Rapid chops with hands and hams oh Irishib drops Steve <v Speaker 2>Austin with a chop. Brian Pillman comes in, he tosses <v Speaker 2>him over the top rope and Ventor immediately protests that <v Speaker 2>that's a DQ in WCW can't intentionally throw someone over <v Speaker 2>the top like that, So that's being put in the <v Speaker 2>bank for future excuse making if they decide to push <v Speaker 2>the Blonds more, which they didn't, and so Flair hits <v Speaker 2>a delayed back suplex on Steve Austin. He signals for <v Speaker 2>the figure four, and just as he's about to put <v Speaker 2>the finishing touches and win the tag titles, Barry Wyndham <v Speaker 2>yes hits the ring, climbs and comes off the top <v Speaker 2>and the lands on Flair and pummels him, and the <v Speaker 2>referee calls. <v Speaker 1>For the bell. <v Speaker 2>As you've finished, barrens Ric Flair and Arn Anderson defeat <v Speaker 2>the Hollywood Blonde two falls to none, but the second <v Speaker 2>one via this qualification. Therefore, they do not become w <v Speaker 2>W World Tag Team Champions, and the bout is over <v Speaker 2>in twenty minutes and forty five seconds, the longest bout <v Speaker 2>of the card, as it should be, Yes, Michael, Butfer <v Speaker 2>makes the announcement that the bout has been stopped under <v Speaker 2>his qualification. Flair Anderson to the winners, but the title <v Speaker 2>doesn't change. <v Speaker 1>Hands, all right, Michael, listen? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, please don't funck this up. Okay already announced that <v Speaker 2>the titles changed hand hands once right, and the fracas. <v Speaker 2>The assault that Flair is under while Anderson is immobilized, <v Speaker 2>leads Paul Roma, the brand new freshly minted horseman the <v Speaker 2>ring and a tie throwing on Steve AUSTINBA working his <v Speaker 2>way back into Barry Windham continues to assault Ric Flair. <v Speaker 2>They grabb him to awesome out of the ring, and <v Speaker 2>Tony's there at ringside with Jesse. They're talking and Barry <v Speaker 2>Wyndham comes over and says, that shows how much you <v Speaker 2>want to me. Rick Flair never wanted any of me. <v Speaker 1>Rick Flair. <v Speaker 2>I'm the world heavyweight champion. You walked away from it <v Speaker 2>and I took it. You've got no guts and you <v Speaker 2>certainly will never be world champion again because I'm the <v Speaker 2>one that took it away. Flair then flies into the <v Speaker 2>frame and starts attacking Wyndham, very reminiscent of the way <v Speaker 2>he brawled with Terry Funk after. <v Speaker 1>The eighty nine. <v Speaker 2>As it really is, it really is baby face flare <v Speaker 2>stuff here flies in a frame, beating the shit on him, <v Speaker 2>beating the shit out of him. They're brawling Doug Dillander's <v Speaker 2>in there. <v Speaker 1>Break it up. <v Speaker 2>Colonel Parker too, I think somehow ends out there, not <v Speaker 2>Colonel Rob Parker, Colonel Buddy Lee Parker. Oh yes, And <v Speaker 2>it's just a frakus. They're throwing, they're throwing, and the <v Speaker 2>fight's going on, and we're out of time. We're at <v Speaker 2>a time it Clash of the Champions twenty two, boss, <v Speaker 2>we're at a time for this week's show twenty two three. Rather, <v Speaker 2>you're in the lapsed fan And I bet Clash twenty <v Speaker 2>two is going to come out of the hopper. Now <v Speaker 2>that I said that, I know right what is next. <v Speaker 1>Here we go, Here we go, hold on, let me <v Speaker 1>grab the damn thing here so uh wait a minute, <v Speaker 1>all right, here, I got it. Now here we go. <v Speaker 1>Unscrew the damn thing. Kind of nervous, gotta say, Okay, <v Speaker 1>here we go. Wweka in your house? Eleven buried alive. <v Speaker 1>Oh my god, you've got to be kidding me. <v Speaker 2>Buried alive, buried alive. You'll be able to say that <v Speaker 2>about your coach hears in the spirit of TL effects. <v Speaker 2>Who's that coming in the mask? Is it Terry Gordy? <v Speaker 1>The other Terry the third Terry, protect your neck next <v Speaker 1>time on that fucking cast. We'll see you
