<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, welcome to Game Mess Mornings with Me Jeff Greb,
<v Speaker 1>your host from GiantBomb dot com. Thank you for tuning in.
<v Speaker 1>In this episode, we're going to be talking about you
<v Speaker 1>be soft bursting at the seams, and we also have
<v Speaker 1>the top twenty best selling games of last year. It's
<v Speaker 1>gonna be a good one because we have Sean Turbo,
<v Speaker 1>Sean McDowell on the show.
<v Speaker 3>Sean, how are you doing?
<v Speaker 2>I'm doing as good as it gets right now, Jeff,
<v Speaker 2>as good as it gets.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, Look, we don't have to talk about what
<v Speaker 1>it gets means, like it's said, only gets so good, but.
<v Speaker 3>As good as it gets us the best we can
<v Speaker 3>ask for. Sean. Yeah, it's at the very least it's going.
<v Speaker 1>To demolish all of us, but I think especially you
<v Speaker 1>with cold although I think it's like Texas is freaking
<v Speaker 1>out right now because they are going to get some
<v Speaker 1>snow and I'm always like.
<v Speaker 2>Look have exploding trees, man, That's all I'm saying.
<v Speaker 1>That it's so insane that that's real, Like, uh, have
<v Speaker 1>you ever heard of that before?
<v Speaker 3>Now?
<v Speaker 1>So like there warning there's gonna be exploding trees in
<v Speaker 1>the up like the northern regions where we got a
<v Speaker 1>couple of folk.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I've never heard of that.
<v Speaker 2>The TV in the living room was on. I just
<v Speaker 2>walked in there to like make some launch the our day,
<v Speaker 2>I heard the phrase exploding tree warning. I did double take.
<v Speaker 2>It's one of those things to hear on the news
<v Speaker 2>where you're like, wait, that's a SKO band.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's that's yeah, that's not real what you mean right,
<v Speaker 1>Uh huh, it's that's a nuts out.
<v Speaker 3>It's yeah. I so looking forward to that. I actually
<v Speaker 3>I do like it when it's.
<v Speaker 1>Like really cold, but it's then it's like when it
<v Speaker 1>gets back up to like thirty and it feels like
<v Speaker 1>summertime somehow, that's like even better.
<v Speaker 3>Like I just went outside and didn't feel anything.
<v Speaker 2>Uh swearing weather right there.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it really does.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like uh kind of ball me almost at
<v Speaker 1>thirty five now, all right.
<v Speaker 2>I'd kill for the thirties right now I have. I
<v Speaker 2>will say I've been taking advantage of things a little
<v Speaker 2>bit slower, to catch up on some things, do some
<v Speaker 2>cleaning since I'm not outside as much. Yeah, night gain
<v Speaker 2>cozy with some some retro games and stuff while we
<v Speaker 2>wait for more big releases. This year. It took the
<v Speaker 2>time to finally get that monster, that behemoth of a
<v Speaker 2>GPU that you gave me into a new case. Did
<v Speaker 2>you actually in the old case?
<v Speaker 1>It's the last time we talked, it wasn't in there.
<v Speaker 1>Since then you you've got it into a new case.
<v Speaker 2>That's why I did all day yesterday. I was a
<v Speaker 2>little offline yesterday again. This all set up, but yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's in a small form factor case too, which I appreciate.
<v Speaker 2>That's you know, that's why I had my old build in.
<v Speaker 2>It's a let me see right here on the Amazon order.
<v Speaker 2>It's like this Chinese brand that's sort of like up
<v Speaker 2>and coming Don's Bow. Where are they just you know,
<v Speaker 2>kind of no name. But the cases are pretty solid.
<v Speaker 2>I got one of those, same size as the old case,
<v Speaker 2>but it because of the weight's laid out. I can
<v Speaker 2>get this gigantic ass forty ninety you gave me. I
<v Speaker 2>had to transport in my actpack from when you gave
<v Speaker 2>it to me, a game of the year, but's in
<v Speaker 2>there now. Got a bunch of fans in there, so
<v Speaker 2>like the airflow is good and everything. I'm happy how
<v Speaker 2>everything's set up. I think it's stable, you know, I
<v Speaker 2>had to install a thousand watt our supply is Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>which I looked. I looked at that thing. I'm like
<v Speaker 2>a thousand watts oh god.
<v Speaker 1>Right, Yeah, there was a time when that was like absurd,
<v Speaker 1>like completely absurd, and now it's like maybe that's what
<v Speaker 1>should be the baseline, like for these new high gps
<v Speaker 1>you use.
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna use that to charge a car or something
<v Speaker 2>a thousand but I got them there. Now it's nice
<v Speaker 2>having an overkill computer just because I know there will
<v Speaker 2>be no bottlenecks. Hopefully this will just be my rig
<v Speaker 2>for the next like ten years or something.
<v Speaker 1>Hey, and it's like all that extra RAM in that
<v Speaker 1>the v RAM and the GPU is gonna help with
<v Speaker 1>your workflow and stuff like that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that reminds me if you still got that RAM.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I got to get this computer.
<v Speaker 1>Yes I will, but once I get that done, I
<v Speaker 1>got to finish James Bond and then I'll once I
<v Speaker 1>get down look at I can get a few more
<v Speaker 1>files off there, and I won't use that computer again.
<v Speaker 2>Probably last thing I christened the new machine since there
<v Speaker 2>is a forty ninety in there. By playing the Pragmata
<v Speaker 2>demo like maxed out with Rage Racing and everything. Fourteen
<v Speaker 2>forty p one twenty. Oh, that game looks gorgeous. I'm
<v Speaker 2>curious to see how they translate, especially since they announced
<v Speaker 2>it's getting path tracing. I'm curious to see how that
<v Speaker 2>scales down to like the console versions and everything like that,
<v Speaker 2>because Catcom is usually good at like scaling down the
<v Speaker 2>orientine experiences. Yes, when they already run well elsewhere.
<v Speaker 3>Of course.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, last thing, that forty ninety is kind of
<v Speaker 1>handed because you were you're running a fifty seventy before, right, and.
<v Speaker 3>I know you, yes, you sat on You don't have
<v Speaker 3>to get in that if you don't want to.
<v Speaker 2>But and Vidio kind of sucks. My forty seventy just
<v Speaker 2>or sorry, fifty seventy just died sitting in the box
<v Speaker 2>on the shelf while I was trying to get this
<v Speaker 2>forty ninety in a different case. It was just like
<v Speaker 2>out of the machine for two days. I put back
<v Speaker 2>in nothing else about the machine has chain changed and
<v Speaker 2>it just doesn't work. I tried with a bunch of
<v Speaker 2>our stuff and just doesn't work. So cool. It's getting rmad,
<v Speaker 2>So I'm not like Superman in the long run, but.
<v Speaker 3>Like at the very least.
<v Speaker 1>This this jump back from fifty series to forty series
<v Speaker 1>has like a small benefit, Like forty ninety still has
<v Speaker 1>physics in it, so if you want through your system forever, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it's like, okay, cycle back to Arkham. Yeah, and you
<v Speaker 1>don't need like a fifty to fifty or like a
<v Speaker 1>thirty fifty in there to run physics for you, which
<v Speaker 1>is a funny thing I kind of want to do.
<v Speaker 3>Still.
<v Speaker 1>I want to put like a tiny little GPU in
<v Speaker 1>there just to handle physics.
<v Speaker 2>Fund thirty or something.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, exactly. Yeah, I've heard.
<v Speaker 2>Some people have had issues with the fifty series beyond that, though.
<v Speaker 2>I was watching Maximilian stream the other ninety. He said
<v Speaker 2>he actually went back to his forty ninety from the
<v Speaker 2>fifty ninety he got through a partner or bought or whatever.
<v Speaker 2>He's like, I was having troubles with the fifty ninety.
<v Speaker 2>So I just I'm I'm going to sell it.
<v Speaker 3>Shuck up the drivers.
<v Speaker 1>I want to say it's drivers. I hope it's drivers,
<v Speaker 1>because that feels like they could fix that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I know, right, my my fifty seventy failing for
<v Speaker 2>no reason doesn't leave me hopeful.
<v Speaker 1>But whatever, Yeah, we don't need another headache of like,
<v Speaker 1>oh no, all these Intel chips are just gonna die pretty.
<v Speaker 3>Soon, the ones that everyone thought why not. Yeah, let's
<v Speaker 3>hope it's not that.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's explain ourselves, Giant Bomb Independent Games Media.
<v Speaker 1>We have you at our backs, though, ensuring that we
<v Speaker 1>can continue doing what we're doing over here. That's what

<v Speaker 1>the world to me. Thank you so much. It means
<v Speaker 1>the world to the entire team. If you want to join,
<v Speaker 1>if you want to be a part of that, Giant
<v Speaker 1>Bomb dot com slash join become a premium member, gets
<v Speaker 1>you ad free shows. I put up a grub snacks
<v Speaker 1>again this week, was having a lot of fun. I
<v Speaker 1>accidentally checked out Plock during that grub Snacks with like
<v Speaker 1>no purpose of doing that or no no intent to
<v Speaker 1>do that when we started, and then someone asked me
<v Speaker 1>about it.
<v Speaker 3>I'm like it had been a minute since I checked
<v Speaker 3>in on Plock. Let's do that.
<v Speaker 2>In soundtrack that was Tim Follam.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, yeah, right man.
<v Speaker 1>Every single track they did was just the meme of
<v Speaker 1>the piano on fire.
<v Speaker 3>Absolutely.
<v Speaker 1>As far as this show goes, most weekdays, I Jeff
<v Speaker 1>Grubb will help piece your gaming life back together. That
<v Speaker 1>includes breaking news and maybe even some of our own
<v Speaker 1>original reporting. For all these topics, I'll get the input
<v Speaker 1>of a bona fide expert who will make me look smart.
<v Speaker 1>If you are watching live on twitch welcome, You can
<v Speaker 1>always listen to the show later on podcast feeds by
<v Speaker 1>searching for Game Mess Mornings or find the RSS feed
<v Speaker 1>on giant bomb dot com. You can also catch the
<v Speaker 1>show later with chapters and timestamps on YouTube.
<v Speaker 3>Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 1>let's start the Morning Mess here with the December twenty
<v Speaker 1>twenty five video game market report from Sircana from Matt
<v Speaker 1>Piscatella on Blue Sky. He has some like breakdown stuff here,
<v Speaker 1>but let's go over the top line information. First, sales
<v Speaker 1>were up in December, and that seems to be actually
<v Speaker 1>one of the main things he does point out here
<v Speaker 1>is there was some concern going through Black Friday that like.
<v Speaker 3>Man sales are down.
<v Speaker 1>He points out here people did show up, They just
<v Speaker 1>showed up late. Everyone was just holding onto their wallets
<v Speaker 1>until the last minute, and in that last minute, everyone
<v Speaker 1>showed up and actually did quite a bit of spending. Now,
<v Speaker 1>increased prices represent the bulk of the reason that spending
<v Speaker 1>is up three percent for total video game sales, video
<v Speaker 1>game hardware up six percent, video game content up three percent.
<v Speaker 1>He chalks up almost all of those increases to Battlefield
<v Speaker 1>six has something to do with it, but increase prices
<v Speaker 1>that we've all become very familiar with are the biggest
<v Speaker 1>reason there. However, like at the very least people can
<v Speaker 1>look to, people are still showing up to spend that
<v Speaker 1>more money that is required of them, at least in
<v Speaker 1>the United States at least. When it comes to the
<v Speaker 1>Sircana report, we do have the top best selling games
<v Speaker 1>of December, but for the year as well.
<v Speaker 3>Call of Duty Black.
<v Speaker 1>Ops seven was number one for the second month in
<v Speaker 1>a row. Only new game on the chart was Metroid
<v Speaker 1>Prime four at number seven. As always, Nintendo is physical only.
<v Speaker 1>You can probably almost usually double that and move it
<v Speaker 1>a little bit higher, although you know it's going up
<v Speaker 1>against Pokemon Legends ZA at number six, and then a
<v Speaker 1>bunch of EA sports games that are everywhere. I guess,
<v Speaker 1>what do you think like Nintendo feels about the performance
<v Speaker 1>of Metroid Prime four. We don't have a ton of information,
<v Speaker 1>but it probably did okay ish all things considered, right.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, Nintendo's never happy, right Metroit. It's why we
<v Speaker 2>don't get many Metro games. It's a circular chicken the
<v Speaker 2>egg thing.
<v Speaker 1>I guess that's kind of like, you know what, I
<v Speaker 1>was kind of hoping this one would do really well
<v Speaker 1>in Japan, just like take that off the table and
<v Speaker 1>be like, oh, Jaman got on board with Metroid but
<v Speaker 1>it's now, of course not.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's usually not their style of sci fi.
<v Speaker 3>I mean that's it's been that way for a long time.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's that's why we got other m The way
<v Speaker 2>it was is because they went with, you know, a
<v Speaker 2>Japanese team making a Japanese centric Metro game, a little
<v Speaker 2>more anime and stylings and stuff, and just that didn't
<v Speaker 2>hit either. I assume that the performance of Metro Prime
<v Speaker 2>four wins also and then will be under par and
<v Speaker 2>that's kind of just far for the series. So yeah,
<v Speaker 2>probably not great.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you know, I just hope it reaches this whatever
<v Speaker 1>threshold it is to justify that team sticking together, even
<v Speaker 1>if it's not to make another METROI Prime, but just
<v Speaker 1>kind of keep doing things the way they did for
<v Speaker 1>METROI Prime. Now that they've done all the work to
<v Speaker 1>set it up. It would be I would imagine very
<v Speaker 1>frustrated for the people at Retro to do all that
<v Speaker 1>work and then only kind of get one game that
<v Speaker 1>wasn't even theirs to start with out the door, and
<v Speaker 1>now it's like, can we do our own thing? And
<v Speaker 1>now they reach a bunch of roadblocks with Nintendo because
<v Speaker 1>it's hard to navigate any carpet structure, but especially.
<v Speaker 2>Hopefully they can have a chance to make another original
<v Speaker 2>project rare than trying to fix one that was apparently
<v Speaker 2>floundering the entire time.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, okay, the top twenty best selling premium games for
<v Speaker 1>the year.
<v Speaker 3>Number one was Battlefield six.
<v Speaker 1>That was kind of going to be expected after we
<v Speaker 1>did not get any word from Activision or Microsoft about
<v Speaker 1>the success of Call of Duty and so we got
<v Speaker 1>an apology. But Call of Duty Black Ops seven all
<v Speaker 1>the way down at number five. I you know, usually
<v Speaker 1>it's number one and then when it's not number one,
<v Speaker 1>it's like number two behind a rock Star game. Here
<v Speaker 1>ahead of it is NBA two K twenty six, Borderlands
<v Speaker 1>four at number three.
<v Speaker 3>It looks like that had a pretty good holiday and
<v Speaker 3>jumped up to number three.
<v Speaker 1>Monster Hunter Wilds of you know, started number one for
<v Speaker 1>the year, eventually only dropped down to number four for
<v Speaker 1>the year. So you know those when it ran till
<v Speaker 1>it rushed to ten million sold, that was great. We
<v Speaker 1>know the story there is people aren't really picking up
<v Speaker 1>that game just due to the word of mouth around it.
<v Speaker 1>But then after that Call of Duty Black Ops seven
<v Speaker 1>at number five. Number six is Maden NFL twenty six.
<v Speaker 1>Number seven is EA Sports College Football twenty six. Number
<v Speaker 1>eight EA Sports FC Football Club twenty six. Number nine
<v Speaker 1>The Elder Scrolls four Oblivion re Mastered. I always forget
<v Speaker 1>how well that did. And then Call of Duty Black
<v Speaker 1>Ops six at number ten. Let's go through the rest
<v Speaker 1>of the top twenty here, I'll just go in order.
<v Speaker 1>Ghost of Yota MLB, The Show twenty five, Minecraft, Elden Ring,
<v Speaker 1>Night Rain, Kingdom Come, Deliverance two at fifteen, Forts Horizon
<v Speaker 1>five at sixteen, Pokemon Legends ZA WWE two K twenty
<v Speaker 1>five split fiction of course, Grand Theft Auto five at
<v Speaker 1>number twenty. Not too many surprises, you know. It's the
<v Speaker 1>familiar things, especially the familiar sports games kind of always
<v Speaker 1>dominate this list. I don't know any glaring omissions in
<v Speaker 1>your opinion.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I think the biggest surprise if you don't
<v Speaker 2>know the situation would be Call of Duty being only
<v Speaker 2>on number five. But yeah, yeah, I think if you
<v Speaker 2>do know the situation is just bad word of mouth
<v Speaker 2>with that game, because it's kind of a bad video
<v Speaker 2>game at the very least, it's a mess of video game.
<v Speaker 2>That's you know, stats quo multiplayer come I with a
<v Speaker 2>bad single player campaign? Consumers are The Internet has made
<v Speaker 2>word of mouth even more important, just because the sentiment
<v Speaker 2>around a game is more important than ever before.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, fomo is a tool for people to save money,
<v Speaker 1>oric like foemo is a tool for them, and then
<v Speaker 1>the negative word of mouth is a tool for us
<v Speaker 1>to be like, great, I have an excuse not to
<v Speaker 1>spend money on a new game, and we're I think
<v Speaker 1>we're all constantly searching for that as we like want
<v Speaker 1>to keep up with the fomo and then also have
<v Speaker 1>this deep desire now to save money because times are
<v Speaker 1>so insanely tough.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. I think I mentioned this on BombCast or something.
<v Speaker 2>But my friends who usually would like get in there
<v Speaker 2>and play the new All of Duty game, they just
<v Speaker 2>don't care about this one because they're like, wait, black
<v Speaker 2>Ops seven. I literally just bought black Ops sticks? Why?
<v Speaker 2>Why is why? On two beat back Black Ops games?
<v Speaker 2>And then they see on TikTok or YouTube shorts or
<v Speaker 2>something like that, just even if they don't look at
<v Speaker 2>the video, just in passing, Hey, the new Black Ops sucks,
<v Speaker 2>here's why, and they're just guess a new one sucks. Well,
<v Speaker 2>now I can save money, so they just pass on
<v Speaker 2>that one. Going down the list, those sports games don't
<v Speaker 2>hit as much with these new names I did. That's
<v Speaker 2>just something noticeably right. It's uninspired football and sports FC
<v Speaker 2>sound like Atari twenty six hundred games.
<v Speaker 3>They do.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, I wish that they had the cover to match
<v Speaker 1>the the you know, the old style like painted covers
<v Speaker 1>of an Atari game. But no, it's just kind of
<v Speaker 1>boring all across the board. Yeah, it's it's kind of
<v Speaker 1>absurd at this point.
<v Speaker 3>EA.
<v Speaker 1>Sports FC twenty six that's just sports and then some
<v Speaker 1>letters and some numbers after that. Yes, that's pretty stupid, guys.
<v Speaker 1>All right, there's a bunch of hardware information here. December
<v Speaker 1>hardware spending increased by six percent when compared to a
<v Speaker 1>year ago, to one point two billion dollars. That seems
<v Speaker 1>to be like the oh, people showed up late for
<v Speaker 1>the spending money, especially on hardware. Unit sales in the
<v Speaker 1>month fell by eight percent versus December twenty twenty four,
<v Speaker 1>while the average sales price increased by eighteen percent. Annual
<v Speaker 1>spending finished nine percent ahead of a year ago at
<v Speaker 1>five point four billion dollars.
<v Speaker 3>And again, I think that's for hardware real quick.
<v Speaker 1>Apparently the PlayStation five got some pretty effective discounting in
<v Speaker 1>December and that made a huge difference. Like that really
<v Speaker 1>got people moving. Yes, that seems to be. That's one
<v Speaker 1>thing he points out as well. Nintendo switched To led
<v Speaker 1>the hardware market in both unit and dollar sales during
<v Speaker 1>December and the twenty twenty five year as a whole,
<v Speaker 1>helping offset year on year declines across other platforms. PlayStation
<v Speaker 1>five placed second across both measures and time periods. Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>switch To finished it's seventh month in the market with
<v Speaker 1>a life to date US installed base of four point
<v Speaker 1>four million units.
<v Speaker 3>How does that like rack up Sewan?
<v Speaker 1>Because there's been all those conversations about Stintendo worried about
<v Speaker 1>the switch it had that like, it sounds like its
<v Speaker 1>slipped on Black Friday. What happened based on this still
<v Speaker 1>sounds like it's keeping up with things. Four point four
<v Speaker 1>million units nearly doubled the installed base of the original
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Switch on a time aligned basis.
<v Speaker 3>That was expected.
<v Speaker 1>There's a lot more switch toes out there, but Nato
<v Speaker 1>switch To also remains the fastest selling video game hardware
<v Speaker 1>platform that's home hardware platform in tract history. Unit sales
<v Speaker 1>of the switch to are thirty five percent of the
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation four's sales pace after seven months in the market.
<v Speaker 3>Obviously there's launching in different times of the year, but.
<v Speaker 1>Right, that's the one where I'm like, okay again, the
<v Speaker 1>switch To is far less supply constrained than any of
<v Speaker 1>these previous consoles.
<v Speaker 3>They just had so.
<v Speaker 1>Many more of them compared to what we can remember
<v Speaker 1>with any of these other devices, right, and yet still
<v Speaker 1>they had to sell all these things and they're doing that.
<v Speaker 1>It sounds like this thing is still on a pretty
<v Speaker 1>decent pace.
<v Speaker 3>And it passed.
<v Speaker 1>The next test that we kept talking about, the launch test,
<v Speaker 1>will do freak show up?
<v Speaker 3>We did? Will people show up during the holiday? They did?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, the availability is huge, because that's the biggest factor.
<v Speaker 2>Whenever I go Walmart just to pick up you know,
<v Speaker 2>groceries for the week or whatever, I do walk pat
<v Speaker 2>walk through the video game section to see, like what's new.
<v Speaker 2>It's different that the Xbox section is empty and there's
<v Speaker 2>just Goku figures there nowadays, right, wild, but switch Tos
<v Speaker 2>are just always in stock like there was for the
<v Speaker 2>first few months there. You know, the entire section of
<v Speaker 2>switch To everything was cleared out except for like you know,
<v Speaker 2>the switch To edition of Breath of the Wild, but otherwise, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it was always cleared out. And now things are constantly
<v Speaker 2>in stock. And I think that's really going to help
<v Speaker 2>them with keeping this pace because you know, I look
<v Speaker 2>at four point four million years, I'm like, I expect
<v Speaker 2>it to be more. But Okay, it's been like six
<v Speaker 2>months or something like that, so that means like first year,
<v Speaker 2>like approximately, you expect like eight to ten million.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it was just to put them at the perspective
<v Speaker 1>mapis catel is like when they made their prediction before
<v Speaker 1>the launch of the switch. They at this point they
<v Speaker 1>were predicting four point three million switch toes sold at
<v Speaker 1>this point, so it's just.
<v Speaker 3>It's right ahead of that. So yeah, right, okay, it's good.
<v Speaker 2>It does take me just wondery off the top of
<v Speaker 2>my head. Does that mean that like console sales have
<v Speaker 2>like a slight belk to them then if it's like
<v Speaker 2>on pace to be the bestest selling, if it keeps
<v Speaker 2>them yes.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, I mean you mean like over the over its lifetime. Correct,
<v Speaker 1>So this is this is a good point. Yes, there's
<v Speaker 1>a huge bell curve for console sales first couple of years. Now,
<v Speaker 1>real quick, though, we should plan out that might be
<v Speaker 1>a supply thing. Right in the early years, it's selling
<v Speaker 1>every console they possibly can, and so the bell curve
<v Speaker 1>is a little bit lower when they have more supply
<v Speaker 1>and people, you know, it's accommodation factors. There's more supply
<v Speaker 1>in later years for these other consoles when they have
<v Speaker 1>the heftier part of the bell curve, and also there's
<v Speaker 1>more games for people to justify making the purchase, so
<v Speaker 1>that there will still be a bell curve for the
<v Speaker 1>switch too. I would expect where in your two, year three,
<v Speaker 1>it continues to sell more than it did in year one.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I wonder how, but I assume that would mean
<v Speaker 2>that year two, year three have more sales because of
<v Speaker 2>a potential price cut or better discounts around the.
<v Speaker 3>Holiday case in the past, for sure, Yes.
<v Speaker 2>And we're probably not getting that this time. We're probably
<v Speaker 2>getting the opposite of that this time, So it'll be
<v Speaker 2>interesting to see how that affects it.
<v Speaker 1>I think, you know, Nintendo's probably trying to like psych
<v Speaker 1>themselves up and say, well, you know, we haven't really
<v Speaker 1>dropped the three D Mario, you know, the new Zelda,
<v Speaker 1>we haven't dropped Smash Brothers, the next new Animal Crossing,
<v Speaker 1>all these other things. You know, there's still the next
<v Speaker 1>big Pokemon generation coming. I think they're kind of saying, no,
<v Speaker 1>we have plenty of stuff to sort of get over
<v Speaker 1>that hump. Regardless of what we do at the price.
<v Speaker 1>Price is still going to be a huge factor, Like
<v Speaker 1>it really could be the thing that kind of spoils
<v Speaker 1>this for them. And if we reconvene here the next
<v Speaker 1>time at is Katila has numbers or this time next year,
<v Speaker 1>we could easily be saying, oh, yep, things slipped and
<v Speaker 1>predictably so because everyone was screaming, this is too expensive,
<v Speaker 1>and then finally they reached the point where they're like
<v Speaker 1>the only people left, where those people who were like
<v Speaker 1>this is I cannot in any way justify purchasing this console.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, the library is good to bring up though,
<v Speaker 2>because I think, regardless of if it was intentional or
<v Speaker 2>if it was just happenstance, because that's what they had
<v Speaker 2>for a year one, I do think it was a
<v Speaker 2>smart lineup to have the lead with family friendly titles
<v Speaker 2>with Mario Karrat World and then Donkey Kong Bonanza, then
<v Speaker 2>have you know, at least a blockbuster brand in Pokemon
<v Speaker 2>closer to the holidays, and then you know, having the
<v Speaker 2>hardcore game in Metroid. That's a good lineup of titles,
<v Speaker 2>especially leading with the Mario Kart. Regardless of pile, everyone felt.
<v Speaker 2>It's kind of mixed reception, but generally strong overall. I
<v Speaker 2>think then, yeah, like you said, they can still have
<v Speaker 2>those huge titles in their back pocket, like a three
<v Speaker 2>D Mario, to try to offset Yeah, any potential issues
<v Speaker 2>from prices climbing up or something.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you know, it's funny, like I think we were
<v Speaker 1>kind of spoiled by the Switch a little bit. That
<v Speaker 1>first year was so good, and it's like this Switch
<v Speaker 1>was great, immediately justified itself. Every console before that was
<v Speaker 1>like kind of a slow start, like man, maybe one
<v Speaker 1>great launch game maybe, and then we're.
<v Speaker 3>Kind of waiting for everything else to slowly trickle in.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like a normal console generation as opposed to
<v Speaker 1>the sort of blessed generation that was the Switch. And
<v Speaker 1>that's making I think kind of the price hurt even
<v Speaker 1>more for some people. But yeah, once that library gets
<v Speaker 1>figured out, as long as those games deliver, Nintendo will
<v Speaker 1>have a pretty decent argument.
<v Speaker 3>All right, let's get to this next story. Oh real quick.
<v Speaker 1>Just I did mention that the fastest selling video game
<v Speaker 1>console platform was for home consoles.
<v Speaker 3>The fastest overall was.
<v Speaker 1>Game Boy Advance, doing even more than anything else in
<v Speaker 1>the first seven months, which, yeah, that was Pokemon Fever,
<v Speaker 1>like everyone was getting very excited for that next game.
<v Speaker 1>The Game Boy Advance was a big leap forward. I
<v Speaker 1>think that that.
<v Speaker 2>Didn't come out until the second year of the system.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, what was year one GBA?
<v Speaker 2>Like, wait, game Boy Advance launched at the was it
<v Speaker 2>the end of two thousand and one or one day launch.
<v Speaker 1>It was very quickly after the Game Boy Color, right,
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, that sounds right. Two thousand and one, has
<v Speaker 1>I know it?
<v Speaker 2>Two thousand be sure too. I'm just trying to think
<v Speaker 2>of when exactly it was. So it may have been
<v Speaker 2>within the first calendar year we got Ruby and SAP,
<v Speaker 2>so you may be on something there.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I can't imagine anything else having that effect,
<v Speaker 1>especially back then.
<v Speaker 3>There has to be Pokemon, but maybe not. I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>You'll have to forget me, Jeff, I was six. It's
<v Speaker 2>a little hard to keep that straight.
<v Speaker 1>No, no excuses. I expect that much of my six
<v Speaker 1>year old sean. Next story, official Pokemon is coming to
<v Speaker 1>Universal Studio speaking of This is from Jordan Midler at VGC.
<v Speaker 1>Of course, it is a permanent Pokemon attraction is officially
<v Speaker 1>coming to Universal Studios, and a press release, e Pokemon
<v Speaker 1>Company and Universal Studios announced the multi billion dollar franchise
<v Speaker 1>will join Nintendo, Harry Potter, and other properties at the
<v Speaker 1>Japan and US theme parks in the form of an
<v Speaker 1>interactive experience and that's a quote based on a hyper
<v Speaker 1>realistic experience that similar stimulates all five senses. It will
<v Speaker 1>bring the Pokemon World to life in an unprecedentedly, unprecedentedly
<v Speaker 1>interactive and rich way.
<v Speaker 3>And announcement reads.
<v Speaker 1>The Pokemon Experience will appear first at Osaka, Japan Universal
<v Speaker 1>Park before rolling up to the United or Universal Studios
<v Speaker 1>US based Park in Orlando, Florida at a later date.
<v Speaker 3>No timeframe on exactly when the suck can happen. Is
<v Speaker 3>this what you guys want?
<v Speaker 2>Guys?
<v Speaker 3>You you people? Is this what you people want? Explain yourself.
<v Speaker 3>I know there's the life size of a poorian. I
<v Speaker 3>know what you guys really want.
<v Speaker 2>This is the kind of thing that you know, I'm
<v Speaker 2>not necessarily big into theme parks because of accessibility, you know,
<v Speaker 2>living in Wisconsin and then not having a lot of money,
<v Speaker 2>It's never been like a big part of my life.
<v Speaker 2>I think this is the kind of the kind of
<v Speaker 2>thing where like, if you are planning a trip to
<v Speaker 2>that area, though, it is like a big attraction, and
<v Speaker 2>some people will go out of their way to get
<v Speaker 2>over there, you know, but I don't think of I
<v Speaker 2>just heard you say all five senses. I'm like, mel
<v Speaker 2>I guess is like maybe the one that gets me there?
<v Speaker 3>Why you mean smell? I bet? I bet smells like shit.
<v Speaker 3>I bet that.
<v Speaker 1>Broad rat ass you can't get in there and clean himself.
<v Speaker 2>He's like goblin. Yeah, I assume they're talking about like
<v Speaker 2>there's gonna be Pokemon food and everything like that. You
<v Speaker 2>know me, You and Mike went to Universal that one
<v Speaker 2>time when we were in person, and that was a
<v Speaker 2>really fun time hanging out in what do they call it,
<v Speaker 2>Super Nintendo World?
<v Speaker 3>Yes, super Nintendo World, that's right.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that was a really fun time. And I think
<v Speaker 2>if that's the style of film bringing Pokemon to Universal
<v Speaker 2>where sus yeah, a lot of big, well made plastic
<v Speaker 2>objects and then some interactive things music from the games
<v Speaker 2>that are playing all times. I think it'll be a
<v Speaker 2>fun addition to the park. It's not something that I'm
<v Speaker 2>going to go out of my way to visit necessarily,
<v Speaker 2>but hey, yeah, next time I'm near one of the
<v Speaker 2>parks and I definitely want to check it out because
<v Speaker 2>it is cool to be immersed in all this stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Right, it's the theming is, yeah, exactly, just being surrounded
<v Speaker 1>by people who are you know, objects that were created
<v Speaker 1>by people who are like trying to transport you somewhere
<v Speaker 1>through theming.
<v Speaker 3>That's always fun.
<v Speaker 1>I enjoy that, and you know, I do wonder it's like,
<v Speaker 1>what is what do they mean exactly by interactive experience
<v Speaker 1>all five senses stimulated?
<v Speaker 3>Are you going to be.
<v Speaker 1>Replicating the act of of capturing Pokemon? I so someone
<v Speaker 1>chat say you're gonna throw baseballs at live animals.
<v Speaker 3>That's very funny to me.
<v Speaker 2>I wouldn't be surprised if they have something akin to
<v Speaker 2>like a pitching game. Uh there. Yeah. Something something Kitchy
<v Speaker 2>Jordan does mention later in his article though about this
<v Speaker 2>being separate from Poke Park conto, which is that that's
<v Speaker 2>that's something that I'm more interested in, sort of a
<v Speaker 2>more immersive experience in the sense of, this is what
<v Speaker 2>it would be like to be a kid on your
<v Speaker 2>Pokemon journey, like going through the woods deemed the Pokemon
<v Speaker 2>scurrying around. It's probably gonna be amatronks and then going
<v Speaker 2>to a town and then like interacting with the Pokemon
<v Speaker 2>Center and the bows and everything like that. That's a little
<v Speaker 2>more of my alli than maybe the more bomb bastic
<v Speaker 2>theme park stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and then like they'll have to make it a
<v Speaker 1>little bit more bomb bast I feel like to really
<v Speaker 1>to justify all the expense they're putting in there, But
<v Speaker 1>I do not know what to expect from any sort
<v Speaker 1>of ride. They're talking about interactive experiences, which is fine. Again,
<v Speaker 1>it could just be a bunch of themed, fun little things.
<v Speaker 1>But what I guess should I be expecting, you know,
<v Speaker 1>those little distractions off to the side in Super Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>World where it's like there's the Mario Kart ride, and
<v Speaker 1>there's the restaurant, and then you can go to all
<v Speaker 1>these little stations and sometimes they have really long lines.
<v Speaker 1>You get all these little stations and do a quick
<v Speaker 1>thing with like Bowser Junior or something.
<v Speaker 2>Well, so many of the rides we went on were
<v Speaker 2>like you know, and it goes from the older ones
<v Speaker 2>to the newer one, with Mario Kart in Super Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>World being like an on rails you are in a
<v Speaker 2>car and maybe the car turns and like my ramp.
<v Speaker 2>I wouldn't be surprised if it's like a Safari type thing,
<v Speaker 2>maybe like Pokemon Snaps, I'll experience.
<v Speaker 3>Fun of sense.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think if it is literally just Pokemon Snap,
<v Speaker 2>that would make all the sense in the world for
<v Speaker 2>a for a ride says literally what you do in
<v Speaker 2>the games. You can down a little cart and you
<v Speaker 2>look around and you take pictures of Pokemon, and.
<v Speaker 1>There you could do You could easily see how they
<v Speaker 1>would be able to accomplish the All five Census thing
<v Speaker 1>on something like that.
<v Speaker 3>You just pump in some artificial smells.
<v Speaker 1>You you get like one of the flying Pokemon and
<v Speaker 1>they flap their wings and they hit you with some
<v Speaker 1>breeze and stuff like that, and there's touch. You could
<v Speaker 1>see how that would work. Hey, that sounds fantastic. Actually,
<v Speaker 1>I would love that. All right, plenty of more headlines
<v Speaker 1>to get into, but we are going to take our break.
<v Speaker 3>When we get back, we'll get into stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Like what's going on with that Super Mario or Super
<v Speaker 1>Mario Wonder update.
<v Speaker 3>If you want to skip out on these ads.
<v Speaker 1>Though, we put out ad free versions of the audio
<v Speaker 1>and video show. You can get those by going to
<v Speaker 1>giant bomb dot com, slash Join become a premium member.
<v Speaker 3>We will be right back. We're back.
<v Speaker 1>Game Mess Mornings, Jeff Grubb, Turbo Sean. Let's get into
<v Speaker 1>the rest of the stories here. We have Super Mario, Brothers,
<v Speaker 1>Wonder Plus meet up in Bella, Bell Park, arrives on
<v Speaker 1>switch To in March. This is from Jim Norman Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>Life after it's rating earlier this month. Nintendo Is today
<v Speaker 1>given us another look at Super Mario Brothers Wonder Intend
<v Speaker 1>to Switch to Edition plus meet up in Bella Bell Park.
<v Speaker 1>Their names have gotten ubsurd a company by a release
<v Speaker 1>date of the twenty sixth of March.
<v Speaker 2>I think you're probably missing a TM at reds or Trade.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, exactly, I'm missing some legal leads in there for
<v Speaker 1>sure that I just my eyes glaze over.
<v Speaker 3>They showed some aspects of it.
<v Speaker 1>I think, you know, there was still quite a bit
<v Speaker 1>of emphasis on those like multiplayer mini games. I want
<v Speaker 1>to say that seems to be the big thrust still here.
<v Speaker 1>Although there were clearly levels that you are just going
<v Speaker 1>to play through. There was a new power up at
<v Speaker 1>the end of the trailer where Mario turns into to
<v Speaker 1>a flower himself. Yeah so yeah, Like I don't remember that.
<v Speaker 1>I guess that maybe that's a Wonder upgrader or something
<v Speaker 1>like that, where it's like a one off.
<v Speaker 3>I suppose, I suppose that's possible.
<v Speaker 1>I continue to be excited for this as someone who
<v Speaker 1>really likes the feel of this game. It's one of
<v Speaker 1>the better feeling two D platformers i've ever played, I
<v Speaker 1>want more of it. What I really want is more
<v Speaker 1>challenging levels. I am not expecting that from this in
<v Speaker 1>any way, but if it gives us an excuse to
<v Speaker 1>go back and do the multiplayer, which I thought was
<v Speaker 1>also fantastic, a really good time, I won't be complaining
<v Speaker 1>because it's like, oh, I can kind of tell everybody,
<v Speaker 1>let's go get back in that game I really like.
<v Speaker 3>And I'll use that as an excuse. Any excitement from
<v Speaker 3>you for this.
<v Speaker 2>Not a ton because like you're sort of alluding to,
<v Speaker 2>I didn't love Super Mario Brothers Wonder, which, by the way,
<v Speaker 2>it should just be Super Mario Wonder. I didn't love
<v Speaker 2>the game because it was pretty easy overall, which I
<v Speaker 2>know Nintendo they need to strike a balance there for
<v Speaker 2>the families, but it felt like there wasn't even anything
<v Speaker 2>towards the end of the game for you know, players
<v Speaker 2>like me and you and everyone else here who have
<v Speaker 2>been playing these Mario games for so long that at
<v Speaker 2>least give us something in the back half of the
<v Speaker 2>game or like that final world, Yeah, is more challenged,
<v Speaker 2>and they kind of just had one level. Really, I
<v Speaker 2>forgive they updated it all, but at least when I play.
<v Speaker 2>It was just one level, honestly, still pretty easy. I
<v Speaker 2>felt at least it was like maybe what the challenge
<v Speaker 2>should have been starting like two thirds of the way
<v Speaker 2>through the game or something. So I'm not I'm not
<v Speaker 2>super interested in this one. If if everyone else plays
<v Speaker 2>in and they're like, oh no, this is actually really
<v Speaker 2>good and there are more challenges in like the second
<v Speaker 2>half or something like that, then I'll definitely check it out,
<v Speaker 2>because yeah, the style of Wonder and the feel and
<v Speaker 2>everything is fantastic, and I do love the whimsy of it.
<v Speaker 2>I thought that the uh yeah, the sorry what were
<v Speaker 2>they called the the.
<v Speaker 3>Just they're Wonder Yeah, Wonder Stars.
<v Speaker 2>Wonder, Wonder's something or other. But yeah, when when you
<v Speaker 2>hit those areas of the game, they felt a little
<v Speaker 2>forced after a certain part, like oh, we need one
<v Speaker 2>for every level, so we gotta keep awesome stuff out there.
<v Speaker 2>As certain point, it felt like they were maybe putting
<v Speaker 2>in ones that wouldn't have made the cut normally because
<v Speaker 2>they want one every well, well.
<v Speaker 1>The gimmickiness of it was like a parent at a
<v Speaker 1>certain point.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's still much presser underseed, That's what it was. Yes, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's underseas I'm just trying to think. I thought there
<v Speaker 2>was a different name for like this segment or something,
<v Speaker 2>but yeah, hey, I'm wrong. It's definitely preferable to New
<v Speaker 2>Super Mario Blars, though, so I'm glad they're sticking with
<v Speaker 2>at least.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm with you.
<v Speaker 1>I always like I want both things, and both things
<v Speaker 1>being I can often find ways to make my own challenge.
<v Speaker 1>I'll run through these levels as fast as I can.
<v Speaker 1>It's great as the multiplayer. Multiplayer is its own hard
<v Speaker 1>mode always because you can always just play against more
<v Speaker 1>difficult human opponents or try to have faster times and
<v Speaker 1>stuff like that.
<v Speaker 3>I love that sort of thing.
<v Speaker 1>But I do want the designed you know, the masters
<v Speaker 1>of making this game have designed some challenges for you,
<v Speaker 1>and that goes back the tradition of that, and these
<v Speaker 1>Mario games goes back to Super Mario World with you know,
<v Speaker 1>our Road and stuff like that, and then going to
<v Speaker 1>the Special World and those levels were extremely difficult, and
<v Speaker 1>there was you know what, like eight of them, something
<v Speaker 1>like that, maybe ten, and it was they just kept
<v Speaker 1>getting harder and harder, and they started off very difficult
<v Speaker 1>and they were all optional.
<v Speaker 3>It's like, give me that that would be fantastic.
<v Speaker 2>But by the way, I did read to the end
<v Speaker 2>of this article, I remember that they are finally adding
<v Speaker 2>Rosalina as a playable character and you can even control
<v Speaker 2>a Luma in the co op mode using a mouse.
<v Speaker 2>You use the mouse on their Day one, like you
<v Speaker 2>were saying, yeah, I've always been a huge fancy for
<v Speaker 2>Marier Brothers.
<v Speaker 1>Wonder never wait, yeah, I was gonna mention Rosaline is
<v Speaker 1>in there. They made a big deal about the mouse
<v Speaker 1>control for the Luma. It's like, so someone who doesn't
<v Speaker 1>know how to use a controller can play. It's like,
<v Speaker 1>I bet if they don't know how controller or a
<v Speaker 1>mouse is going to scare them too. But whatever, have
<v Speaker 1>have fun that. It looked really cute and I like
<v Speaker 1>the idea of them including Rosalina. This is a good
<v Speaker 1>kind of update thing that they're doing, of introducing characters,
<v Speaker 1>new characters to these games that they have been established.
<v Speaker 1>You know, Dixie being in Donkey Kong Country Returns as
<v Speaker 1>part of that update was surprising.
<v Speaker 3>This is cool too, all right. Bubbzy four D launches
<v Speaker 3>in May.
<v Speaker 1>Physical release confirmed for Switch and Switch to Olie Reynolds
<v Speaker 1>and Nintendo Lifetaria. Taria has announced that Bubbzy four D
<v Speaker 1>will launch on the Switch and switch To on the
<v Speaker 1>twenty second of May. The new sequel, developed by Fabraz,
<v Speaker 1>who previously did Demon Turf, a really good three D platformer,
<v Speaker 1>will also get a awesome addition physical release on both consoles,
<v Speaker 1>containing the game itself, a deluxe box, a poster, an
<v Speaker 1>art book, and a manual. Ataria is seemingly implying that,
<v Speaker 1>much like Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection, the physical release on
<v Speaker 1>switch To is not a game key card, but rather
<v Speaker 1>a full on cart release. Good for them. We played
<v Speaker 1>this game on the site. It is surprisingly very good.
<v Speaker 1>I guess it's not that surprising when you look at
<v Speaker 1>the pedigree of for bras, like they know what they're doing.
<v Speaker 1>But I think it's I liked it even better than
<v Speaker 1>I like Demon Turf. It immediately felt even better than that.
<v Speaker 1>And then you know the fact that it is Bubbzy
<v Speaker 1>and people are kind of treating Bubbsy with respect. That's
<v Speaker 1>new for us as a society.
<v Speaker 3>This is for you, and.
<v Speaker 2>They are out there and they love they love. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>this game rules. I play that demo myself too, and
<v Speaker 2>I was like, oh no, oh, it's it's bubbzy. Odyssey.
<v Speaker 2>It's got the juice. Bubbsy's good. Oh God, Jeff, is
<v Speaker 2>gonna you get to come to terms with this one man?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's uh, if this game is good, it'll be
<v Speaker 1>a relief when everyone tags me anytime anything with Bubbsy
<v Speaker 1>forty happens, that'll be fine.
<v Speaker 3>Uh. It's it's anything.
<v Speaker 1>Bubbsy of any stripe at this point, and it's your
<v Speaker 1>your old boys inbox gets full real fast to people
<v Speaker 1>being like.
<v Speaker 3>Yo, check this out. Grab. I know you're the Bubbsy guy.
<v Speaker 3>It's a burden we have to carry over here. I guess.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's get to this expanded story that we
<v Speaker 1>kind of touched.
<v Speaker 3>On yesterday as it broke live while we were on
<v Speaker 3>the show.
<v Speaker 1>You'd Be Soft canceled six projects projects including the previously
<v Speaker 1>thought imminent Prince of Persia's Stands of Time remake, It's
<v Speaker 1>closing two studios, and confirms further layoffs in major company restructure.
<v Speaker 3>This is from Tom Phillips at IGN.
<v Speaker 1>Ubisoft has announced a sweeping company restructure that will result
<v Speaker 1>in the cancelation of six games, including its Prince of
<v Speaker 1>Persia Stands of Time remake, and a delay to a
<v Speaker 1>further seven titles. Two Ubisoft studios will be closed completely
<v Speaker 1>as a result of the changes, while others are subject
<v Speaker 1>to further layoffs. Of the half dozen games that have
<v Speaker 1>been fully scraped scrapped, excuse me, Ubisoft is only publicly
<v Speaker 1>naming one today. It's the long awaited Stands of Time
<v Speaker 1>remake that was rebooted once already. Three of the canceled
<v Speaker 1>games were new ips, while one was a mobile game.
<v Speaker 1>Ubisoft's core focus going forward, the company has said, will
<v Speaker 1>be on open world games with live services.
<v Speaker 3>What's the fucking difference? What are you talking about?
<v Speaker 1>That's what you've been doing anyhow, I'm so baffled by
<v Speaker 1>this company. Ubisoft Stockholm will fully close as a result
<v Speaker 1>of the changes, having previously elaborated on Avatar Frontiers of Pandora,
<v Speaker 1>alongside mobile studio Ubisoft Halifax, which.
<v Speaker 3>They had previously already talked about closing.
<v Speaker 1>Our restructurings have also taken place at Ubisoft offices in
<v Speaker 1>Abu Dhabi, at trial studio Red Links, of course, and
<v Speaker 1>at Massive.
<v Speaker 3>Hope, which is home to the division.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, there was like they kind of like continue
<v Speaker 1>to explain what they're doing, and we got an update
<v Speaker 1>on the five creative houses that are inside of Ubisoft
<v Speaker 1>still as they view them, and Darren bontiusover at GameSpot
<v Speaker 1>has more details on that. I'm going to go down
<v Speaker 1>here to where he describes the state and like the
<v Speaker 1>going concerns are at each of.
<v Speaker 3>These creative houses.
<v Speaker 1>So Creative House one also known as Advantage Studios, which
<v Speaker 1>is the subsidiary subsidiary that Tencent has a stake in,
<v Speaker 1>which is still part of like this overarching broader Ubisoft,
<v Speaker 1>despite the fact that it's also separate in some ways.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, known as Advantage. Creative House one will handle
<v Speaker 1>several of Ubisoft's biggest franchises. This is the one we
<v Speaker 1>talked about that will do Assassin's Creed, Rainbow six and
<v Speaker 1>Far Crime and Seeing Ghost Recon It's Rainbow six, and
<v Speaker 1>then Creative House two the hub for Ubisoft's competitive and
<v Speaker 1>cooperative shooter experiences, including the Division, Ghost Recon and splinter Cell.
<v Speaker 1>Those will be handled by this team. They are still
<v Speaker 1>saying splinter Cell although this is the cooper competitive and
<v Speaker 1>cooperative shooter experience, so huh. Creative House three is dedicated
<v Speaker 1>to live service titles. It will operate a roster of
<v Speaker 1>select sharp live experiences that's a quote across games like
<v Speaker 1>for Honor, The Crew, Writer's Republic, Bralhala, and of course
<v Speaker 1>can't get rid of this one, Skull and Bones. Creative
<v Speaker 1>House four focused on building immersive fantasy worlds and narrative
<v Speaker 1>driven IP the development of games like Ano, Might and Magic, Rayman,
<v Speaker 1>Prince of Persia, and Beyond Good and Evil, which they
<v Speaker 1>are still to talking about.
<v Speaker 3>There's more like that. There's more to that, Sean, We'll
<v Speaker 3>get to that here pretty soon. That's Creative House four.
<v Speaker 1>In the Creative House five has been tasked with developing casual,
<v Speaker 1>family friendly games. These include IP like Just Dance, Idle Minor, Tycoon,
<v Speaker 1>Catch App, Hungry Shark, Invincible, Guarding the Globe. That's the
<v Speaker 1>one of their mobile game I think you know, and.
<v Speaker 2>Mobile games if you don't recognize them, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Right yes, and Hasbro licensed titles Where are the Rabbits? Okay,
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, that's let's just do. Let's let's get all
<v Speaker 1>this done and then we'll have the conversation. Beyond Good
<v Speaker 1>and Evil to survives Ubisoft's Project Purge.
<v Speaker 3>This is from Insider Gaming.
<v Speaker 1>Insider Gaming has learned that that one of Ubisoft's a
<v Speaker 1>long longest in development projects. Beyond Good and Evil too,
<v Speaker 1>has survived Ubisoft's latest round of project cancelations. Beyond Good
<v Speaker 1>and Evil two continues to make headlines as the longest
<v Speaker 1>in development title ever, having in development since it's revealed
<v Speaker 1>on May thirtieth, two thousand and eight, with a total
<v Speaker 1>of six thousand, four hundred and forty five days at
<v Speaker 1>the time of this writing. Or for those who hate math,
<v Speaker 1>seventeen years, seven months and twenty two days, and they
<v Speaker 1>still claim this fucker's coming out.
<v Speaker 3>What is happening?
<v Speaker 1>I guess they're claiming internally, but they also mentioned it
<v Speaker 1>as part of their creative house.
<v Speaker 3>For that, Beyond Good and Evil is still a thing.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, you know, how do you feel about
<v Speaker 3>all of this? How do you feel about that? Sean?
<v Speaker 3>What are you thinking?
<v Speaker 2>Duke Nuko main got shit on this month?
<v Speaker 3>Yes? Really? For so damn long just goes goes watching
<v Speaker 3>a lot.
<v Speaker 2>It's unpack here, Jeff, I don't know what the hell
<v Speaker 2>is UBI Soft doing? Is the first thing that comes
<v Speaker 2>into my mind. So okay, So first of all, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>Prince of Persia the remake getting canceled. I think it
<v Speaker 2>was Matt Piscatella who pointed out on Blue Sky, like
<v Speaker 2>or it might be grass math thingk if if the
<v Speaker 2>studio that like put out Skull and Bones cancel this,
<v Speaker 2>you know it's fucking bad, like something's wrong. But this
<v Speaker 2>feels like throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.
<v Speaker 2>This feels like new management, new something in addition to
<v Speaker 2>like whatever else is public, Like some someone got a
<v Speaker 2>new title and it's like, all right, I'm coming in here,
<v Speaker 2>I'm cleaning things up, and we're gonna do it by
<v Speaker 2>completely changing everything we've ever done. And they don't actually
<v Speaker 2>have a plan. It's like, well, let's just do basic
<v Speaker 2>human instinct and try to categorize this stuff and then
<v Speaker 2>maybe this will all work out. And oops, we have
<v Speaker 2>quote unquote extra to shave away, and that's how people
<v Speaker 2>lose their jobs.
<v Speaker 3>Yep.
<v Speaker 1>And it's like it's interesting that it's not just at
<v Speaker 1>these other UBI SUS studios, it is also at advantage
<v Speaker 1>the ones that are handling handling Assassin's Creed. Reportedly, one
<v Speaker 1>of the delayed game games is Assassin's Creed for Black Flag,
<v Speaker 1>the remake slash remaster that they're dealing with that that
<v Speaker 1>was also you know, seemingly imminent Nope, not anymore.
<v Speaker 3>That's going to the next fiscal year.
<v Speaker 1>That there was one game out of those several that
<v Speaker 1>were delayed that they were like, that was a previously
<v Speaker 1>announced are previously unannounced, but one that we mentioned in
<v Speaker 1>our earnings report game that was due out for your
<v Speaker 1>fiscal year twenty six.
<v Speaker 3>Now that's fiscal year twenty seven.
<v Speaker 1>So it's like just across the board, they're like, they're
<v Speaker 1>just we're not happy with any of this quality, And yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you're right. The strategy is what they've done a couple
<v Speaker 1>of times before, delay everything, cancel bunch, cut a bunch
<v Speaker 1>of costs by restructuring these studios, which means layoffs. And
<v Speaker 1>then what is the next thing you're doing to make
<v Speaker 1>sure that this doesn't happen again, because you've already done
<v Speaker 1>it several times and it doesn't nothing you're saying here
<v Speaker 1>other than we're going to take more time.
<v Speaker 3>What are you going to use that more time to
<v Speaker 3>do differently?
<v Speaker 1>And I do not think that this Ubisoft has the
<v Speaker 1>capacity to solve that because the people that might be
<v Speaker 1>able to are going to be the people who are
<v Speaker 1>actually in the trenches, and there are a lot of
<v Speaker 1>them are leaving or they're just straight up getting laid off.
<v Speaker 1>So I don't think the Ubisoft management team has the solution, right.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it feels like managing a different type of business.
<v Speaker 2>Like it reminds me of you know, I was like
<v Speaker 2>assistant manager at grocery store after working there a couple
<v Speaker 2>of years, and so I heard some of how like
<v Speaker 2>the higher ups there talked about the franchising, and this
<v Speaker 2>reminds me of that, like sure, figuring out how to
<v Speaker 2>shuffle around assets, how to slim down, how to cut
<v Speaker 2>out some of the franchises that aren't making the money
<v Speaker 2>they want. That's how it feels like they're trying to
<v Speaker 2>run a creative medium like video games of like this
<v Speaker 2>isn't working out, that we need to trim the fat
<v Speaker 2>and we need to like, you know, take these people
<v Speaker 2>who are doing well, put them over here and like
<v Speaker 2>shuffle things around. That doesn't really work. When you need
<v Speaker 2>to put out a product that is creative that people
<v Speaker 2>are going to want to buy, you can't just upend
<v Speaker 2>everything and say all right, let's kind of start from
<v Speaker 2>square one again. And like whoever it was in development
<v Speaker 2>that we do think is salvagible. You know, you keep
<v Speaker 2>trucking along and oh you know you got you got
<v Speaker 2>shaken up with the restructuring. Oh well, keep going. It
<v Speaker 2>just feels like they don't they don't want to run
<v Speaker 2>it like a video game business, and it's baffling to me.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think that a lot of that stuff is
<v Speaker 1>like their problem to figure out. But then our problem
<v Speaker 1>is like, hey, occasionally they'll try to get me to
<v Speaker 1>buy one of their video games, and every time I
<v Speaker 1>think about it, I'm like, my opinion of you be
<v Speaker 1>soft overall is pretty low. Unless it's something that sort
<v Speaker 1>of gets my goat, like Star Wars Outlaws, I am
<v Speaker 1>very likely going to just look the other way and
<v Speaker 1>look for entertainment elsewhere, just because I don't believe in
<v Speaker 1>you be soft. And I think that that feeling, that
<v Speaker 1>sentiment is pretty widely held by people who spend money
<v Speaker 1>on video games. At this point, Ubisoft's reputation is in
<v Speaker 1>the go with everyone, investors and people who actually play
<v Speaker 1>video games, and they've had a bunch of opportunities to
<v Speaker 1>sort of change that. Again, we've talked about they delayed
<v Speaker 1>several games multiple times now with this exact problem in
<v Speaker 1>mind that they needed to solve. They didn't have a
<v Speaker 1>solution so I just I think you'd be Soft is
<v Speaker 1>a little bit spoiled at this point in terms of like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>they've gone bad and they're not going to be able
<v Speaker 1>to rep to fix that reputation and sort of like
<v Speaker 1>get back on the good side of being able to
<v Speaker 1>convince people to actually spend money on their video games.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, Yeah, it feels like the flip side
<v Speaker 2>of something like an Activision, where when you commit to
<v Speaker 2>this style of game, things can go horribly, horribly wrong,
<v Speaker 2>and Activision has skated bye for so long because people
<v Speaker 2>love the feel of Call of Duty and the game play.
<v Speaker 2>It's the place where they can feel this is my
<v Speaker 2>gaming home. I come home after a long day of work,
<v Speaker 2>I sit down with my friends and we play some
<v Speaker 2>Call of Duty and we have a good time. And
<v Speaker 2>you be Soft. Maybe because of their emphasis on single
<v Speaker 2>player games, it feels like the opposite of that, where
<v Speaker 2>they really did double down on their open world games.
<v Speaker 2>They're checklist games as they started to be called as
<v Speaker 2>a derogatory term because we all kind of got tired
<v Speaker 2>of that, and so I think that reputation slipped and
<v Speaker 2>like you've talked about a lot on the Show of
<v Speaker 2>sales slipping and how people expect ubi Soft games to
<v Speaker 2>be those twenty dollars bargain bins Steam sale games right
<v Speaker 2>then going on buying right away. And yeah, like I said,
<v Speaker 2>it feels like people are kind of just over ub
<v Speaker 2>Soft and we're at the point now where it's instead
<v Speaker 2>a pleasant surprise when a ubi Soft game is really good,
<v Speaker 2>and that's not where you want your company to be,
<v Speaker 2>when it's something like Prince of Persia Lost Crown comes
<v Speaker 2>along and we say, oh, yeah, this is fresh and
<v Speaker 2>different from a company like this, And even I don't
<v Speaker 2>know what else the studio has done, but this type
<v Speaker 2>of Metro Advanas style is not what we expect out
<v Speaker 2>of the series necessarily. This feels interesting and I want
<v Speaker 2>to be there, but I don't necessarily want to be
<v Speaker 2>there for bar Brye seven, eight, whatever the hell we're
<v Speaker 2>on now.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, seven I think is next.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, although like the fiftieth one because of all the
<v Speaker 1>spinoffs and.
<v Speaker 3>Stuff like that. Yeah for sure.
<v Speaker 1>All right, last couple of stories here. METROI Prime four
<v Speaker 1>was Kinsuke Tanabe's last game at Nintendo, according to him.
<v Speaker 1>This is from Instant Gaming News after joining in nineteen
<v Speaker 1>eighty six. He has now told in an interview with
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Dream magazine in Japan that Metroid Prime for Beyond
<v Speaker 1>was his last game at Nintendo, so he's retiring. It
<v Speaker 1>sounds like Tanabe has been doing this role of like
<v Speaker 1>working basically being the main person at his EPD studio
<v Speaker 1>and working with a lot of external studios to get
<v Speaker 1>games like Metroid Prime made. He's been, you know, super
<v Speaker 1>important to the METROI Prime series from the beginning, but
<v Speaker 1>also he was like the director on Super Mario Brothers
<v Speaker 1>two USA. He was integral to the Paper Mario series.
<v Speaker 1>He has been hands on and one of the key
<v Speaker 1>people for a lot of the great video games. I mean, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>he worked on Link to the Past and Leak's Awakening.
<v Speaker 1>He's just had a sort of a legendary career and
<v Speaker 1>it's one of these people who had who had been
<v Speaker 1>at Nintendo forever, and that's why he had this such
<v Speaker 1>a crucial role kind of the it's an end of
<v Speaker 1>an era in a lot of ways because he's again
<v Speaker 1>key to getting Metro Prime made and that's so important
<v Speaker 1>to me and I noticed to you as well, what
<v Speaker 1>does this make you feel?
<v Speaker 2>First of all, before anyone Roasty too hard, kens ke
<v Speaker 2>get all right, but he was in the middle.
<v Speaker 1>That's this is yep, yep. I'm never gonna remember. But yes,
<v Speaker 1>thank you. I appreciate you could continue to try to
<v Speaker 1>educate me.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, like you said, he's been I looked at
<v Speaker 2>his I just brought Wikipedia for a second convenience to
<v Speaker 2>see like what he's worked on. Yeah, and uh, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>he has been producer, like he was co producer on
<v Speaker 2>Prime one. But I'll say that he's been producer of
<v Speaker 2>all the Metro Prime games specifically. I want to see
<v Speaker 2>if he was producer on anything else Metroid, but no,
<v Speaker 2>very spritically Prime. He sort of shepherd that series best
<v Speaker 2>he could. It seems like I know there's been more talk.
<v Speaker 2>I haven't had a chance of reading of the interviews
<v Speaker 2>or stories I've come out post Metroid Prime four, but
<v Speaker 2>I'm curious to see people were talking about what his
<v Speaker 2>views of the series should be, and like what other
<v Speaker 2>people's views of the series should be, and how they
<v Speaker 2>some kind of sometimes conflict. I believe it was Tanabeu
<v Speaker 2>had that issue there Metroid specifically as Ali issues there
<v Speaker 2>with like producers and directors having a different idea than
<v Speaker 2>what the fans do. It's a whole thing. But regardless, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>like I said, end of an era, because he's done
<v Speaker 2>so much for Nintendo. Just scrolling down this list, he
<v Speaker 2>is a producer, supervisor or advisor on so many games.
<v Speaker 2>Like every single year there's like three or four games
<v Speaker 2>that he has worked on in some capacity and Nintendo.
<v Speaker 2>I think that happens a lot. Is people float a
<v Speaker 2>little bit at Nintendo, but especially once you get higher
<v Speaker 2>up in the ranks, But it is it is cool
<v Speaker 2>to see how much he has worked on, how many
<v Speaker 2>incredible games he has worked in some way on, Like
<v Speaker 2>from two thousand and five to twenty ten, there's this
<v Speaker 2>block of Wikipia just as producer because he produced just
<v Speaker 2>a crapta Nintendo games. So yep, end of an era,
<v Speaker 2>end of a good era, I would say overall because
<v Speaker 2>of how many excellent games he got out the door.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah he did Pick Cross three D That's right, Yeah, exactly,
<v Speaker 1>banger after banger.
<v Speaker 3>Just like it's worth pointing out.
<v Speaker 1>Producer, especially at like Nintendo, means a lot means you're
<v Speaker 1>doing a lot of work, means you are like the
<v Speaker 1>de facto sort of last word, even more so than
<v Speaker 1>the director in a lot of time cases.
<v Speaker 2>So rule of thumb in Japan is like, this isn't
<v Speaker 2>you know necessarily Sendstone. Rule of thumb is that director
<v Speaker 2>and producer in Japan so at flipped from how we
<v Speaker 2>think of it where the producer ultimately has like more
<v Speaker 2>say in the project than director, who is actually sort
<v Speaker 2>of just directing and telling people what to do.
<v Speaker 3>Yep, all right.
<v Speaker 1>Then finally, Final Fantasy seven remake Integrate Switch To reviews
<v Speaker 1>came in over this week. It has an eighty eight
<v Speaker 1>on Metacritic for just switch To. Overall, people really happy
<v Speaker 1>with especially the technology. Obviously, the you know, people's opinion
<v Speaker 1>on the game is pretty well document at this point.
<v Speaker 1>Everyone's sort of echoing all of those conversation points. A
<v Speaker 1>lot of the reviews, though, do touch on how it performs.
<v Speaker 1>Got five stars from Daily Star, which says, well, it's
<v Speaker 1>not a new game.
<v Speaker 3>The love put.
<v Speaker 1>Into this version of this of the third of the
<v Speaker 1>Final Fantasy seven. You know this little confusingly written. It
<v Speaker 1>makes it a brilliant addition to the slowly growing Switch
<v Speaker 1>to library. Gamers will be as addicted as ever, And
<v Speaker 1>for forty pounds, this feels like quite the bargain compared
<v Speaker 1>to some of the more meh full price titles nowadays.
<v Speaker 1>Nine point five from Critical Hits, which says Integrate remains
<v Speaker 1>one of the best games of its generation and the
<v Speaker 1>switch to port is highly competent, offering a great opportunity
<v Speaker 1>for those who haven't played yet or want to revisit
<v Speaker 1>the story of cloud Ra Atifa Barrett and the fight
<v Speaker 1>to save the planet from Schenra and Sephyroth. And then
<v Speaker 1>it got A nine from the Sixth Axis, says the
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Switch to version of Integrate arrives in stunning form
<v Speaker 1>with very few compromises made bringing it across to Nintendo's
<v Speaker 1>newest hardware.
<v Speaker 3>I know Digital.
<v Speaker 1>Foundery did a report on it and seem prett happy.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't get a chance to watch it or read
<v Speaker 1>any of what they wrote so far, but they talked.
<v Speaker 1>I think they mentioned that there's obvious DLSS, which I
<v Speaker 1>don't think is too surprising.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, they've talked about that one in the past
<v Speaker 2>when they've been able. Yeah, that's true review events and stuff.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, basing off of that because we haven't had
<v Speaker 2>a chance to watch the video yet either, it seems
<v Speaker 2>like it's just a good quality part. It is maybe
<v Speaker 2>more in line with what you get off like PS
<v Speaker 2>four PS four Pro in terms of image quality. That's
<v Speaker 2>also what we should expect out of the Switch too.
<v Speaker 2>And I think if it's matching those last generation consoles
<v Speaker 2>for experience that still feels pretty modern, I think that's
<v Speaker 2>where the system should be in. I think that's awesome
<v Speaker 2>because this is my like, this is sort of a
<v Speaker 2>weirdo one for me. This is my fairy final fantasy game.
<v Speaker 3>I love Street Make.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, because it's just everything that I wanted to be.
<v Speaker 2>You know, it is a more focused experience. I'm okay
<v Speaker 2>with RPGs being more linear. You know. Rebirth actually turned
<v Speaker 2>me off a little bit because of the open world
<v Speaker 2>stuff and how much there is to do. I prefer
<v Speaker 2>that in like old school RPGs where the you know,
<v Speaker 2>they're just shorter in general. And this was like a
<v Speaker 2>thirty five hour experience that I think is still really fun.
<v Speaker 2>It's a great action rpg. The at the action combat
<v Speaker 2>system is amazing. It's nice to see more people you
<v Speaker 2>all get to play. And this is a game where,
<v Speaker 2>like if it goes down price, I might just pick
<v Speaker 2>it up on Switch to to just you know, see
<v Speaker 2>how it runs and play it horribly and stuff. I
<v Speaker 2>think it runs fine on the Steam deck. It's been
<v Speaker 2>a while since I checked in on that. I don't
<v Speaker 2>know if they updated that at all since the initial release.
<v Speaker 2>But if you'll helps it be a solid experience on
<v Speaker 2>switch to, then I think it's a really appealing product.
<v Speaker 3>All right. That was the last story I've written down here.
<v Speaker 1>Someone did share this story from Kenne Shepherd over Kataku
<v Speaker 1>about anime Gotcha game had to shut off PayPal purchases
<v Speaker 1>after charging random amounts up to three three hundred dollars.
<v Speaker 1>So people are getting hit by a bug where it
<v Speaker 1>PayPal just keeps charging them. Yeah, it's it's wild. This
<v Speaker 1>is what's the game? It is arc Knight's Endfield.
<v Speaker 2>Oh no shit, Okay, well I don't spend money on Gotcha's,
<v Speaker 2>but I was gonna fire that up today because it
<v Speaker 2>watched today.
<v Speaker 3>Do not connect your PayPal to it is what it
<v Speaker 3>sounds like. Here's the thing.
<v Speaker 1>PayPal is a terrible service, as terrible like customer support.
<v Speaker 1>The bugs are that they did, just don't fix them.
<v Speaker 1>But at the very least, all the people who got
<v Speaker 1>rich from it are trying to destroy the fabric society
<v Speaker 1>so we have that at least so great stuff.
<v Speaker 2>I think I think this was on the end of
<v Speaker 2>the game. I'm pulling out the article here real quick,
<v Speaker 2>and it seems like it might just speed continuously sending.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, it's It does seem like it's a bug with
<v Speaker 1>them trying to do something on PayPal, yeah, or with PayPal.
<v Speaker 3>The point is we've had problems with PayPal, so I'm
<v Speaker 3>a little salky.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's see here I have the pole question,
<v Speaker 1>and let's get to the pole question from yesterday. Let
<v Speaker 1>me go ahead and refresh our post here and see
<v Speaker 1>what the most recent results are. Have you played Donkey
<v Speaker 1>Kong Country returns fifty said no percent said yes. That's
<v Speaker 1>due to no faulting Nintendo. They've made that game available.
<v Speaker 1>They have made that game available on several different platforms
<v Speaker 1>now and if you don't want to, if you're not
<v Speaker 1>playing it, I bet it's because you just don't want to.
<v Speaker 3>Maybe this latest update will finally change your mind. It's
<v Speaker 3>a good game.
<v Speaker 1>I just, uh, I don't think it's a great game, person.
<v Speaker 1>I just I like Tropical Freeze more. And even that
<v Speaker 1>I like, I don't like it as much as some
<v Speaker 1>people do.
<v Speaker 2>I really like returns. I first played it on Did
<v Speaker 2>you ever.
<v Speaker 3>Play the three D version that's the one I primarily played?
<v Speaker 2>Actually, yes, okay, okay, yes, And I know I didn't
<v Speaker 2>like it because of like the the wiggle waggle on
<v Speaker 2>the Wii. I'm like, no, no, play three DS version, like
<v Speaker 2>they fixed all that, and I think I think it's
<v Speaker 2>a very enjoyable game. I think, yeah, Tropical Freeze is
<v Speaker 2>a better platformer overall, probably, but yeah, like you and
<v Speaker 2>Mike always say, they're just not as good as the
<v Speaker 2>original country games, but still fun video games, exactly.
<v Speaker 3>New Pole question. We'll get to you here in a second.
<v Speaker 1>Before we do that, Sean, you want to tell people
<v Speaker 1>where they can find you on the internet, plug anything,
<v Speaker 1>all that good stuff.
<v Speaker 2>Go ahead, Yeah, you can find me everywhere, Turbo Sean
<v Speaker 2>s h A W N like still probably just like
<v Speaker 2>plug it away on my retro achievements stuff, and I
<v Speaker 2>occasionally post about that I got. I'm just shy of
<v Speaker 2>Achievement of the Month in GTA three. It's cool. It's
<v Speaker 2>cool to go back and like play GTA three and
<v Speaker 2>Dark Cloud and stuff like that. It's it's been fun
<v Speaker 2>to keep up with that. But otherwise, Yeah, help out
<v Speaker 2>around here editing stuff usually behind the scenes, and.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, good deal.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's see here new poll question. Do you
<v Speaker 1>still want Beyond Good and Evil too? From Ubisoft? I
<v Speaker 1>got a bunch of options here for you. I do,
<v Speaker 1>I don't, I never did, and I don't want anything
<v Speaker 1>from ub Soft.
<v Speaker 3>Get the results of this pull.
<v Speaker 1>And talk about it on Games Mornings here on Giant
<v Speaker 1>Bomb tomorrow. Speaking of Giant Bomb, there's some stuff's happening today.
<v Speaker 1>Let's see here. Make sure I have at all. I
<v Speaker 1>don't have a good look at the calendar.
<v Speaker 3>There it is.
<v Speaker 1>We will be talking over the Xbox Developer direct here
<v Speaker 1>pretty soon. We'll get set up for that voicemail dump
<v Speaker 1>truck will take place. After that, there might be we
<v Speaker 1>might need a little bit more of a gap, so
<v Speaker 1>but generally that should be at two pm Eastern, but
<v Speaker 1>might be a little bit later if we need more time.
<v Speaker 3>And then, yeah, we'll.
<v Speaker 1>Have some more fun stuff popping off tomorrow. We're gonna
<v Speaker 1>do Monday Mornings. Missed with Mitch tomorrow on Friday, everybody,
<v Speaker 1>because we missed it on Monday due to the holiday.
<v Speaker 1>And then we'll do our upf which is fantasy critic Sean,
<v Speaker 1>I again I ask you every time. I need to
<v Speaker 1>go in there and set up my team, right, and
<v Speaker 1>you just go in there and set up my team.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. I didn't have a chance to yesterday because I
<v Speaker 2>was working on the computer. But yeah, today I'll go
<v Speaker 2>in there and see exactly what you guys need to do.
<v Speaker 2>I think you just need to, like, yeah, set up
<v Speaker 2>a team for the new year, and then set up
<v Speaker 2>your watch list if you want to to make drafting easier.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, sounds good, Well we'll make that happen tomorrow. I'm
<v Speaker 1>getting excited. It's we did some fantasy critics stuff over
<v Speaker 1>a game mess and now it's like, oh yeah, I'm
<v Speaker 1>gonna go against you guys.
<v Speaker 3>It's a good time.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's see here, everybody. The guy's going to
<v Speaker 1>do it. Sean, thank you so much for hanging out
<v Speaker 1>with me today and talk about video games. Man.
<v Speaker 3>I always appreciate it.
<v Speaker 2>It was a fun time.
<v Speaker 1>Jeff absolutely, thank you all for watching and listening. You
<v Speaker 1>are the best audience in gaming. Until next time, have
<v Speaker 1>a good one, take care of yourself, and goodbye.
