Yeah. Wow, when somebody walked by James Bonds, because you know, you'd always believe that song would be some woman would be gripping on James Bond. Guy walked by him. Then he followed the man making this guy making out and making out with a beautiful lady. Sean Connery, fucking asshole. Which one was it? I think it was the last Sean Connery one. So it's this Thunderball League of Extraordinary Gentleman. Yeah, yes, the Dragon Heart, the Rock too. April is almost over. It is very nearly May. It is Tuesday. These are all facts. This is have subtns frost poem or something. Yeah, that's this is a fact based podcast. We deal in facts here. April is almost over. April is almost over. Last day. I can shower. Fact, that's right. For get those showers in w you need them or not? Yeah, rubbing flowers all over my body. Muh hello, I'm Jeff Kersman. It's Tuesday. What is it the twenty nine, which is very nearly the end of April, and we're here for the Giant Bomb Cast, which is a podcast. Uh that is part of giant bomb dot Com. Is the podcast portion of Giant Bomb dot com the website. Is that why it's called the bomb cast? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I'd call it a media empire. Yeah, part of the excellence bomb casting, Yeah, empire. It's not like an RPG character trait. You don't cast bombs. No, no, the bombs don't get cast. It's not a spell like bombs are an item that's a physical like you have a thing, and I mean you could use a spell to light the fuse on it. Maybe could you cast it? I guess that's a fireball. You can't really cast a fire bomb. I mean if it exploded, I think you could get away with calling it a bomb. You could conjure a fireball. I see you couldn't cast it, yeah, okay, yeah yeah, conjuring then throw it. Could reu conjure a fire bomb as a wizard. As he is a wizard, he can cast a spell as a conjurer. He casts the conjuring spell and then is able to conjure one item at level five, but then at level six it's two items. Unless you want to pay now you can reset that timer, and then at level seven it's two level one items and one level two item or three level one items. I think you have that right, Yeah, I think you got it. Okay, so welcome to the giant bomb conjure. Yeah exactly. But when Ken does it, he just he conjures a little further. But it's like a little less yeah conjures. The channeling time is faster, faster, and a little more aggressive, and there's fire on some of it. Like I think Rio has a sick overhead conjure. Yeah, ye, forward and medium conjure. To have this downward punch that is just really it's devastate. Yeah, you got it, you got it. Forces you'd have to think up close, you know. You can't just handle all that one way. A lot of people think they're the same. They're not. It's true of any Caravella. A lot of people think they're the same, but they're not. They're not. Hi Hi, yes, I and Ryu can three different original famous for you all show too, scrubs. But but we got a lot to prove, a lot of heart. Yea, which one to use the dan of this trio? Uh no, I see they don't talk about me yet. They're waiting. Okay, every question, what color is your gee? I'm sorry, that's a personal question. Blood type be positive? Okay, does Does the carpet match the ge always only if you hold down start button for two seconds then you get it? Yep. Yeah, Drew Scanalon's here as well. Yeah, hello, how are things? I pronounce it? G okay? Yeah, Brad Shoemaker graphics, Yeah, go go graphics, Griff Brad Shoemaker posting him and just tumbler or trying to trying to post him and just to tumbler over there giving the people what they want. That's right. They came to me asking for it. What are you tumbling? Straight? Tumbling son? What you're doing? I'm not at liberty to say have to visit my tumbler to find out that's right. That's well, I couldn't do it. You know, we're we're promoting you know this the empire. Yeah, we've got to promote different parts of the empire from the podcast, like Brad's tumbler with satellite satellite brands. Yeah, of the well, it doesn't it doesn't matter because the stupid phone app doesn't let you post pictures as far as I can tell, it does, just not the way you're trying. That's part of an answer, right, which is done too much flesh. They know what you're trying to post. Oh yeah, and browsing tumbler on a bus is a dangerous I'm like navigating my field. Tumbler's not a bus. What's that tumbler called bust tumbler? Yep, yeah, my Google glass. It's just NonStop bust tumbler. If you're if you're a person who cares at all about other people seeing what's on your phone and whether or not it may be offensive, maybe not look at tumbler or on a bus. M okay, because it's dangerous. There's a lot of stuff out there. Speak for yourself. Man, Hi, everybody, Hey here, it's Tuesday. Video games are still happening somehow. This industry is trucking along and growing. It's a rate of speed is damn near unmanageable. Every day, nine new games every day. Four of them are free to play mobisp. Two of them are for phones early access, Yeah, one is early access. The rest of them no one will ever actually see. I feel like four out of five games hitting Steam right now are android ports. Yeah, Like, there are an insane number of games coming out on Steam right now that are like two forty nine an important storm and have that. Look, what's that look they got that look you know what, you know what I'm talking about, Like they've been in the ship and yeah that thousand Yard Androids. They might they might also be iOS ports. I don't know. I remember they all have that kid cat it was, you know that that super bright saturated clash clans. No, you're on iOS huh like that? Look you aren't a fucking cream yogurt. When ship was breaking left and right, people were pirting you and you didn't know if they were gonna get supported or not. I whatever, man, iOS games are broken all the time too, we got it's like the big ones too. Think you're broken to the time I spent playing Dungeon Keeper. It's like you every fifty fifty percent of times launching Dungeon Keeper, it crashes. Do you ever serve on a new yea son? No, Yeah, no, that's what I know. That's I don't school hard knocks. Yeah, serves no one, no one. I was reported. Yeah, all right, well congratulations on that one. No respect for making it out alive. Serve served out of mind Sweeper in the South Ucas. I mean, if you think about a tower Fall is technically one of those games. Yeah, it was an Android, highly decorated, graduated out of that powerful sales data just came out. Yeah, I can't remember the numbers. No, it was I don't want to quote it without exactly what they were, but they sold very low number on UYA weird. Yeah. I think the story mainly was that PS four was out something PC for twerfall, which I think makes sense. I think PS four is a spot where you're more likely to have people, four people and four controllers and all that other stuff, so people feel, Yeah, ideally PC would be the place because everybody's had a lot of time to accrew three like old three sixty controllers. Yeah, but PC's are still on desks largely, and no a lot of no one wants to get like that's not a party, Like, hey, guys, let's come over and hold on around my monitor. Even though it's still big, it's not as big as my TV. Like, we just took the PC up to your TV. We just tipped a prominent in the video game industry figure off to the little three sixty control dongle list Thursday when he came by the office. It's true. I don't know how anybody doesn't know about the PC dongle. Seriously, yeah that dongle. That dongle. No Xbox one controller dongle. Huh uh No, it's but there are hacked together drivers to get an Xbox one controller on a PC. Similar for PS four like weird ship, you can run to make it go if you if you really need no, no, no, I think you just uh yeah, that has to be wired for Xbox one right now. The PS four controller is just Bluetooth, so it can be wireless. That's it's quite nice. I don't do it because the drivers stuff is a little hacky kind of just it's pretty yeah, like I have to exit Steam before I sink the dual Shock four with PC and then restart. Seem well, that just sounds like you should just buy another dual Shock four and stop sucking around and just have it. I mean, it will not sync with the PC and find the drivers. Steam is already using the controller, so the drivers cannot access it. Yeah yeah, yeah, well but if you tick that hide controller off on that all well in fact, and I think having that ticked is what's making that happen dark the Darsenuls games don't work with that controller unless you have that ticked like, well, this is you know, it sounds like you should just not many many fine examples of why this is kind of pain in the ask. You know, someone forked that that stuff is that one is the forth better? Some would say the fork was better. I haven't tried that new version from that other guy. Yeah, fork prefer shop sticks. I still like at three sixty control. It's fine, cool with I have one that's not. I've I like, somehow came into possession of a wired three sixty controller that was brand new. I refused to believe that. But I've gotten brand new three sixty controllers that were shitty you know. Well, no, this was one that I had like in my things four years. Apparently it was a it's a black wired three sixty controller. I don't I didn't even know they existed, Like, how did I well cool? My other ones all fucked up? Someone plugged this one in yea, and I want to play some Trials Fusion with it? Uh and hated it? What Trials Fusion? The three sixty controller is not is not my controller of choice anymore. You've moved on and playing games on it. It feels mushy and weird in a way that it used to not, and I hate that I changed the controller still, Like when you go back and play a dreamcast, right, yeah, like what is that? What is that controller? Everything's changed? You gonna try that grab a Jaguar controller. Sometimes those were because those were never good, and then now they're even weirders. You've seen the light of that, that's right, stared right into the light of controller, the kindle fire controller. Weird. I haven't hooked that thing up since I brought it in for the show. Yeah, I don't know why, you know, it seems I mean, such a powerhouse. Uh hey, hey, hello, it's Tuesday. That's right, it's almost the end of May. It is, this is what I hear. Yes, I think I might have allergies. I don't know. It's allergy season, right, Brad, you're our resident allergy haven't allergy? A little allergen Incubator had very trouble with this year. Since you asked, its usually rough for me. Yeah, really it was always. It was always into March most of April for me. But yeah, I don't know, man, I have no idea what changed this year. Yeah, I don't know. I you know what I suspected. This is totally my own speculation, but the drought may have had something to do with the Sure I wonder, I wonder if there was just less less flowering plants games I spent. I spent Monday of this week driving back into the area from being out of the area. And that's usually like the time when it's like, do I have allergies? Because I get back here and then it's just like, well, you're allergic to San Francisco. Yeah, well yeah, that's you. Ever done an allergy test? No? No, I never have. They're kind of hold your breath. I right, I know somebody you Yeah, the whole hundred needles thing. Oh man, I knew somebody else that did that. It sounded horrible. I did as a kid, really, and they said with the needles, No, wasn't that painful. They did it. It's more a scrape. Yeah, it's like a scratch. But they do hundred pricks. Yeah, one hundred little pricks. They that's my new play, and I'm on it's opening. They have to do each one in a different spot, right, Yeah. But it's just like a grid of you have, like yeah, so you have a giant grid of like reactions going on, right, on my back. Do they tell you before each one, like all right, this is peanut. I imagine they what if you want? And then this one is the mint mocha, and this is the oprah chi. These different ones for like airborne stuff, and then a separate one for for food. I well, as a kid, I did the airborne one. So it's like mold and pollen and dog hair and whatever. And then because they're pricking you with that, I mean, the thing that they happens is like they they must have a Petrie dish of the stuff. They look at you and go like, okay, you're no, you're good. You're having a reaction. Look at that you be six. Yeah, you're allergic too. Oh that's not your water. That's not good. You're really allergic to made of a lot of that. Allergic to the last thing we stuck you with. So I don't know what that was. Actually dropped this one on the floor and then stuck you with it. And you're not looking so good. I found this fork in the cafeteria. Let's try that, all right? Fuck, Jenny, come in here and see the you gotta no, that's an arm No? Uh yeah, they did to me and I was. They were like, you're allergic to dogs and cats, pollen, mold, spores, fungus, the whole thing. And I think it was like my mom was like what then was there, Well, you can come in, you can get like the allergy shots or something like that or you know whatever. She's like, not thanks, and we just left. I had a dog and a cat at home. And did it ever cause you problems? No? Yeah, that's never Missus Carovell didn't raise no bubble boy a symptomatic allergies. They get home, go take the dog and the cat, Go script the mold off your bed. Allergic, roll around in the yard for an hour. You could eat it if you want. I think it's penicillin. Damn. Got a blood test about a year ago for food allergies. It took like a liter of blood. You could do that, Yeah, so determined food allergy. Huh. It took so much blood. It was like nine vials. Jesus. Yeah, well I supposed to take a while. What they come up? Did you get at the end of that process? I didn't. I wouldn't got like a big greasy breakfast. Okay, yeah, so I uh, let's see. I think that I don't know what the number is that they're measuring, but I think around fifty is normal. So for for gluten, which is what I suspected. Yeah, I was like one hundred and sixty hundred and eighty range. Yeah, but then I also found out that I'm allergic to soy and for egg whites and egg yolks. It just said greater than two thousands. Wow, who's off the charts? And does anything happen when you eat eggs? Yeah? So well, all those things just like upset my stomach. Like it's not a it's not like break out, break out in hives or anything. It's just like, so if you just feel horrible, took a little egg white and like dropped it in your blood, it's just your old thing. It's just like, yeah, yeah, try to light Yeah huh, I feel like I should go do that. Yeah I could do it for you. Yeah you got blood? Oh yeah, okay, I'm full of it. Okay, I need like a gallon, Okay, I can hang on, let me just do you have a trash can there? No, you know they took the trash can out of this room, as if to finally double down on their like no food and drink policy in the podcast studio. Uh, given blood's weird? Have you given blood? Have I given blood? No, it's a fantastic process when you give check. I checked the donor box on my license. Figured that. I was, okay, so you're going to someday, Yeah, someday they can have it all. Okay, I won't need it anymore. That's what my wife said. She's like, you should check the donor box in your license. And I was like, but then they won't resuscitate me because they're gonna want my organs. She's like, you're an idiot, Uh, and you should. I'll check it for you. So the little pink the pins out here, Yeah, yeah, yeah, pink dot, that's definitely. I just did my I thought I thought I had done mine a while ago, and it was just the last time I got my license renewed, like two years ago or something, that I got it finally all pink dotted. They're gonna steal my corns. They can fuck have them. You're you're wearing glad. They don't want your Corny Is doesn't say that on my license. His corn is get them. I mean it's still fresh, you know, when when we get to a point where they're you know, the body part bounty hunters and all the black market organ stuff is happening. They're not gonna look, They're not gonna look at your fucking license first to go like, is he okay with this? Yeah? Or does he need his body to be whole for some ritualistic ceremony later I do. I think he's gonna come back. Then we're gonna need to keep this body. Oh no, no, okay, then I guess we can illegally steal his liver is a Mark two omnicore. Yeah, we're taking that back. We're taking back his Mark two liver and damn average gonna cut off his legs for fun. That's what I do. Yeah, that's how I get mine. Uh yeah, I think I think given blood and the donation stuff is pausy man. Yeah, I can now give blood again. Oh that's right. Yeah, North koreatric it was a red zone. They test you for that during the allergy thing. They test you for Korea. Yeah yeah, oh yeah, you're deep. You're just like off the charts. Yeah, I believe I believe red. Yeah that was the test. No, still communist. Apparently, Vinny has the last week been for you. Let's get into it. Let's get into the talk. Well, yeah, I want to get I want to get deep. You get deep inside Viny Caravella. Okay the film Okay, part of the long running series Para Medical Procedures for that too. Ask me anything, okay, Question number one, wide open, Vinny Caravell's wide. Question number one? What's up? You know? I think given blood is great. Yeah, I think donating your body to science it's great. Just don't take my corners. Yeah, ask me another question. Uh, this is this is all good stuff? Why? Why do you think that's all good? But that's what's not question number two. It's more like a question one A. Ok, explain your position? Uh, all right, great? Question number two? What's happening? So I finished fract Yeah, finish? I saw I saw credits on front Okay, Yeah, how long is that? I found it to be longer than I thought. But I had a lot of trouble at the last uh rodeo and the last little puzzle spoilers, man, Yeah, what is the last rodeo? Is it? The drum sequencer? You have to stay on for eight seconds? Yeah, you gotta write a beat. You have to write more than two measures. Nobody gets past it. Yeah, without copying and pasting. Uh no, it's the last thing is basically you unlock all the advanced controls. So what they show you in that studio, it's like those are the simple controls, those are the Fisher Price control. Oh no, oh yeah you want. They start calling things about their real names when you open it's no longer gravity. You know. It's like they call you know, the oscillator and the you know, frequency modulator, and they gets bananas when you unlock the advanced controls, actually makes things sound awesome. But that whole puzzle is I don't know what happened. It's something happened. I spent like three hours on that one. It was a lot of stuffs moving around, you know, when you go into that visualizer when we could touch stuff and visualizer mode and everything when you write click, so like in that area it's huge, and you just unlock different things to move. So when you click that button, eventually everything's just overlapping. You can move every single thing around and you're just trying to navigate up. Yeah. I had a lot of trouble with it, and I think the game is pretty freaking awesome. Yeah, cool, Yeah, I liked a lot. I want to play that. I will play that in the in the game. Can you see what other people have done or do you have to go to YouTube for that? I think you have to go to YouTube. There was a threat on our side of people posting stuff. Yeah, I have an export in my jams yet, still working on that. Yeah, you played on a controller at home. I did. It's probably slower, That's what I expected. Yeah, some of the puzzles get a little tough. Some of the puzzles get really tough. Some of the puzzles are like, oh, you know, like you guys saw on the quick click where you're kind of like mapping the MIDI points and stuff like that. Then there's puzzles where you're like, oh, you gotta dial in the right settings for all these knobs, and the clues for that are spread out all throughout the environment. So hopefully you saw those or you know at least what we're looking for. That's where some of the stuff got like pretty rough. But I think that game is is pretty neat. It's a great concept. Yeah, uh cool, is this are we previewing your song? Now? That's that's the intro. Yeah, and then somebody's gonna come in and gonna try and get some hired guy or something. But back again caravel right open, Yeah, and then yeah sick drop. Yeah. I didn't really play anything else. Let's talk about hacket Slash. Okay, let's talk about hackens What is hacken I'm glad we finally got through the real part of the interview. Thanks you number three, Thank you. The fuck is hackenslash. That's a genre name. It's not a game name. This seems illegal. This is in a hackenslash is a hackenslashion to our database, so I had know. I had no idea what the hacken slash until they came and showed us what Hackenslash was. The game is crazy personal. It's a personal game for the computer game. Yeah, okay, it's a Zelda like game, all right, Zelda or Zelda like like, because it'll like your shield. It is Zelda esque and all the way down to your character is Elvin looking and has a green tunic. I gotta say Zelda inspired. Point of yo. I'm mostly talking about the main character. Okay, bank character looks like something I was Zelda. You get a sword at the beginning, and the perspective. Yeah, it's an overhead. Yeah, you get a sword at the beginning, the sword breaks open and it turns out there's a USB stick in there instead. And what everything in this world has a USB port in it? Okay most things, well, okay, everything you can interact with, which is most things anything and you can interact with You run up to it and stick that thing in, and then you can manipulate like all the variables that are actually in the engine for that object. The true variables are surfaced for what that thing like, even what they're named in the code and stuff. So like when you slat when you were if you were to slash a bush, let's say, and hearts were to come girl and set, you can set that bush on fire. You can set on fire to one. You can set like the number of hearts that will come out of it when you break it. Like the they're straight up is all to block pushing things, but you can set how many spaces will it push when I push it? How long does it how long does it take to push? Yeah? So what so using this to kind of manipulate the world and solve puzzle in some really fucked up ways, like so it's not really combat anymore. At that enough, there's no combat. Okay, you're just walking up and sticking stuff and changing what it does. Okay, you're hacking all right, enemy hit points to zero, that's right. So you can make guys friendly by giving them like a different alignments, like you can you can run up to an enemy and change the amount of damage it does to you to negative one, and then it'll heal you for one every time it hits. It's crazy, it's pretty bananas. They were they have like enemy uh spawns, and he just like said it to like nine nine nine. Yeah, I mean pretty much crashed. He pretty much in the quick look actually we put up he like, yeah, he set some enemy and generator to so high that the game was just like melting cool. So that's the pitch for level one. Then level two you can see the code basically, you can see hip box you get like this hat and you can see hip boxes and lines of division cones and all the like, uh physical things that are in the game that the program is using. Determinan's episode. And then I think three was you actually go You're actually going and started fucking with the logic of this. So this was not in the quick look. He showed us this later, but you can go into these what they call code rooms, which are visual representations for like actual functions in the game code Like basically you see a bunch of machines changed to get chained together, and those are that's like the logic flow of the function, like Rocky's Boots. I haven't seen that, but maybe okay, probably, I don't know if that is. It looked like a flow chart kind of. Well, I mean they are they are literally physical manifestations of what's going, like the air machines, and then you're running running around, yeah kind of, and you're literally moving those around and rewiring things to change what the output is gonna be. Yeah yeah, but it's crazy. Okay, yeah, so like you know, this gates locked with this like Rocky's Boots. Let me let me give you a sense of Gertrude's how this game was inspired or where they're coming from with this. He was telling us after the video was over. He wanted the original inspiror, he wanted the original objective of the villain to be that he was somehow like hijacking you to mind his own bitcoins. Okay, they actually got like whatever the Bitcoin mining engine or API or whatever he is, and hooked it into the game so that he was actually so that as every time you booted the game and we're playing it, you were literally mining bitcoins. But he said it was too but it was it was taking too much of the PC performance, so he had to pull that out. But that seems to be the ridiculous free wheeling philosophy that they're coming at this from. Sure, and if all that sounds insane when he jumped into that that you know, the room, yeah, it was incomprehensible, all right, But you know, I hate to fucking do this because I mean, this isn't we deal in audio here a giant bomb cast. But I need to show you guys some Rockies Boots material here so that you can say yes or no on it. So in this screen shot, that's a man and a woman. Okay, yep, good, that's not Rocky Okay, Rockies boots. Now I see where you're getting at in this. In this, so you you are building a machine that I'm showing a screens Roy's boots. You're building a machine with these wires here, and like that's a boot that when the boot gets power, it goes and you build logic gates Vender and ore and then these are the sensors and then it knows it triggers the boot to kick certain colors of things to get the points. Unlike that, but way more complicated. Fucking yeah, all right, cool. Yeah. What I was gonna say is that, like, at least for the first part, it ramped up pretty slowly so that you could still kind of follow it. It doesn't drop you just into that stuff. Rocky's Boots is an educational game from the eighties for the Apple two. Is this the one where that guy spent like ten years and he couldn't be and then he maybe finally or like it was. It was programmed really quickly by some programmers, and uh, the last level is like ridiculously hard, and if you pass it, you're pretty much a programmers. It might I read some art that might be that might be the case. That might be the case because it was one of those things where like the processes be to the Apple two was such that, like you know, the juice would flow through the wires at a certain rate and it was just hard to Yeah, it was hard. So I would say the difference between that might be what you're describing and what this game is. At least what it sounded like to me is it would be like Rockies Boots if you are actually manipulating that stuff to reprogram Rockies Boots. Okay, yeah, yeah you are. You are actually changing the game at the point where you have roll back to like save states, because you could pretty fucked it up. They built save states in the game, yeah, because it's possible to break the game, all right. One of the coolest things I thought was that when you go into the game directory, it's all unpacked like like the so you can hack it that way if you want. It's all all the graphics are all like raw files, and I think it's all like la like unencrypted Lewis scripts and stuff like that. You can literally just get in there and poker and they're building full full steam workshop support into it so people can make whatever they want. It was weird. So is this thing available? It's coming out on Early Access in a week, I think, said, it's very much in flux, like they have to test it out and they're just hoping that someone will finish the game. The last act. I kind of like this trend with early access. The last act is not going to be in the early access version kind of gives people a reason to come back when it's final and see the end of it. How do you enter bugs? Right? What was it? What was it? He said? Like when they were filing bugs and saying like, hey, this is possible to break the game like this? Like what was he was? What he said his solution was, he said, but it'll break kind of. I know. It was more like he said, instead of having the game crash, uh, they worked it somehow so that the game just slows. That's that's what it was. Yeah. He was trying to keep it from ever actually crashing. It would just basically bog itself down, and was trying to trap errors basically into oblivion or something. Well, and to just show you that like this is this is slowing down the result of what you did, right, you know. Yeah, like when you had that thing generate like what was it, nine hundred ninety nine turtles and they just like filled the screen and the game got really slow. I was like that was the proof concept for me. It was like, oh, they're serious about this, Okay, there are no training wheels on this. I tell me needs to have like a mister Rosette that comes up if the game crashes and yell at you for fucking it up. Yeah, look, Jack, you went too far. Kid, wheel back a bit. You don't need that many turtles. Those turtles. Those were a lot of turtles, a lot of turtles. That was really cool, but it broke it yeah quickly. Yeah on the side. Yeah, if you haven't seen that, highly recommend it. Yeah. It's really weird. I'll it's really like, I hope it all works out. It seemed like it was real ambitious and like crazy, like you're just opening up these dialogue manus that have like raw variables like this, underscore this, and you're just changing numbers on yeah, like diving into those weird. Yeah, that was hackened slash. That's a would you say end of May no next week? Sixth? Okay, yeah, I'll totally check that out. That sounds cool. Yeah. The only thing I watched on the site while I was out of town there for a little bit was the Bounding. Yes, I had to see Drew and Brad dance. Yeah. Yeah, that looks fucking awesome. It's cool. Say that control room got a little switch I bet Yeah, how are you? You were using an Apple TV to get that feed? Right? Okay, all right? I had that moment of like, there are no wires. How they do it's gonna be we coated them in green and just keep them up. Yeah, screen screen all right, professional professionals, Uh, anything else for any I was playing some of that FTL advance. I still have not touched that. I don't know if I will. I think I think Brad mentioned it. I don't know on the are off there, but it is an amazing uh touch screen iPad. It's very fun to play, very TecTile. They did a good job, probably a definitive version. I didn't play. I didn't spend that that much time in their versions. There there are things in that that I think don't exist as far as I can tell in the PC version, Like that part of the quick look we did where I was trying to vent certain doors. You can just swipe over him. Yeah, so like a bunch of people were yelling, I was like, oh, the open all doors buttons right there, Like I don't want to open all doors that will vent my entire ship. But in the iPad version, you can trace your finger along these specific doors you want to open, and they all just opened in real time as you move your finger super efficient to like vent just the rooms that are on fire or whatever, you know, stuff like that. Like just tons of a great little interface improvement. That's cool. You know, it's not fun though, what animal crossing? Yeah, that's not out of game. No, I feel like I was. It's not a game, it is real life. Didn't you guys say like this is fun, it is real light didn't say that. Maybe the internet did. Okay, have you been playing it every day? I've been trying trying to. The game doesn't want to work with me. No, it's every day. You just play it every day for a little while, tom nok. Don't work on your schedule, yeah, tomnok. Apparently when the shops are open. So the first day you got a tent, yeah, not even a fucking house. Yeah, I just bought this game. I got tent, of course, and then I was like, I owe you like ten thousand bells. The real Dark Soul starts here. And then it was Easter because that's the day I was like playing it. Oh yeah, okay, and it's an Easter bunny who's like find all this shit? I was like, great, where's the shovel. You don't have a shove. You gotta buy a shovel. Where's the net you don't have a net? Yeah, you will go fit, go fucking fish. I don't have any of this stuff. Easter's over, Like, well, fuck you, Like I couldn't get any of your eggs because I don't have any of the stuff. Don't work about it. And then I'm like making at the minute, don't worry about it. Easter happens once a year. And then I was like, wildy, I'll play in the morning before I go to work. Everything's closed. Then I was like, okay, I think I know what I'm doing. Now I'm all set. I'm ready to pay off. I'm ready to get some tasks from the dog lady who runs animal crossing. She's the mayor's assistant or whatever. Yeah, and she's like been hooking me up, right. I just I don't think if her as a dog lady. Yeah, I don't know that. That doesn't sound like an attractive way to describe as a dog lady. You know, you know why she fucking took the day off for Earth Day. The motherfucker office was goddamn closed. I'm sitting out there with nothing to fucking do, and every time I talked to her, she's like, it's Earth Day, Man, go outside and chill. I'm like, no, I gotta fucking make a town tune. Whatever you told me to do, or like you were gonna tell me about catching bugs, remember that you're like, go catch some bugs, have a good time, and then talk to me. I'll give you something. All day waste, waste the time, a fucking nightmare game, like I actually find it, wind up having to go online and like look up and be like, what am I supposed to be doing here? Whatever you want? Man, your first animal crossing, No, I played it on the game cue. So it's been long enough that you forgot what animal crossing is. No. I thought the animal crossing was like, yeah, plant trees and then chop them down and get them, get cherries and fruit and go sell plant a bunch of fruit trees and sell them drilling the video game. No, it's playing a fucking perfect pair and then wait four days. Well, yeah, I mean trees to take time to grow. I'm noticing a theme on this podcast. Impatient animal crossing didn't change? I think you did. No, because you know what changed online. They want you to play with friends. They don't. I mean you can, but no they don't. Actually it's really not cherries. Uh that you may find them in the shop. I think if you go to the island you may find additional hole. I just got to the fruits. Got to the island, still place the dream I'm sorry. Uh, there are later buildings you can build that. I believe you may be able to get fruits that way. But I thought the dream stuff was only to visit people's houses. Yes, but I want to say that while you're there, you might be able to acquire off rut Is that the dream committee that? No, no, no, it's not the different. So also you could if someone had set a fruit out in their home, you can potentially swipe it, buy it. That way, we'll report it. Loop. Let me give you a little piece of life advice. Okay, if you never get your hands on a cherry, yeah, it's gonna be okay. How do I make my bells? It's gonna be okay. What's the best way to make bells? Uh? Fishing works really well. I keep catching sea bass. I want to say. I want to say the gets the sea bass sell those sea bass man wasn't well, not notwithstanding the actual exploit. But aren't the bugs on the island just in general worth a lot? They are? Wouldn't get to the point where you can get once you get to the point where you can travel to the island. I got through the island. Okay. You get to the island and borrow a net there, yes, and catch some fucking bugs. The beetles that are live on the trees, you can hear them. Yeah, you want to catch all these jewel beetles. Yeah, you want to catch all beetles. You want to go at night a lot of money and you want to catch night for you. I forget what the exploit is. The exploit is that you just you craft the island in a certain way so that there's not a lot of other bullshit in your way. You can just get to the trees and get what you need. So what uh and and kind of just walk around in a loop that gets the trees off screen that back on screen so that you are respond yeah, how do I all? Right? So I got to the island and I was on the train and I was like, cool, I got all this stuff. I'm ready to save this game and close it. I can't save on the island. No, you don't leave the island. So I gotta put everything in that little fucking east the basket and then leave the island. Try to come back to the island the same day. Yes, okay, So I can go back and forth as many times as they want. Yeah, okay. I was afraid once I left the island they'd be like, boat's gone for today. You can come back tomorrow. No, I think I've made two trips in a day. Okay. But it's one of those things where you have to go late enough that like the shops not be open. You gotta hustle, catch fucking shit, get all your bugs back, sell them all, and then go like, all right, we're gonna get back down and I can get another load. I can get another the load, make another run. I got a cop. I got a cop of brick on the island, and then get back and flip that shit in town. But it's really just about of the college kids to pay your mortgage, or you know, to buy awesome matching furniture that looked or a Japanese arcade machine. Yeah, I mean, does it end? No, I paid money for us. I'm gonna keep going, Okay, I mean I can. I can dig my copy out and maybe play a little bit, and if you want to come to my island, I have a bunch of fruits. Or at least I did you know six months ago or whenever I played it last I just I feel I felt so bamboozled. It's the It's one of those things whereas someone who like Marathon's the fuck out of games in long sessions, that game is frustrating to me generally speaking. Yeah, at the time that I was playing it, it was nice to have something that I could just kind of like breezily fuck with. I'm like, yeah, man, I'm just gonna fucking I'm just gonna do this. No, even even if someone who rarely plays games for more than like an hour or two, I find it horribly tedious and frustrating. I thought it'd be fun to play on the train, but apparently my train rides more than thirty seconds, so apparently I don't have enough to do. Maybe with this island thing, things will get. Things will also also well, depending on when your train ride is or any of the shops even open at that point. Yes, Okay, yes. When the game first came out, I was taking the early bus in here, and like I couldn't do any business on the way in fucking nooks. Like he's just a slacker. And there are are town things you can enact later to like if you want the shops to remain open later, you can do that. Why am I the only human in a town fell animals? That's again, these are you don't want the answers to these questions anymore. Why can't I just put everybody in a cage and invite you over and say, check out this freaky fucking town I fell into. They made me the mayor. It's thirty bells to visit. Look at this dog lady in a cage. She can talk, because I have a dog lady of my own, and that's not impressive to me. I've got a a penguin wearing goggles, all right, How twenty five bells you could have them? Do you get a traink gun? That? No? That existed for like that that was the thing that you know, people had found a way to get ship people, Yeah, to kind of get people to leave town or kind of manipulate the the towns and stuff. And who goes where and win, and there would be like, you know, hey, for this much real money, I will slave trade this animal to your town. H yeah, there was. Animal crossing has always created a lot of weird It's a weird situation, especially in this one where it's like dude gets off the train and they're like you're the mayor, Like no, not well, who's wear too dumb Bordomer's not here and who knows what that fucking old ass turtle wants anyway? Yeah, yeah, I don't know. The game's weird. I'll keep going. I get my money's worth, I get my bells worthing them bells out. Wasn't a cheap game. I wouldn't advise you don't to buy that game. If you would ask, I would have said you don't want that should have gone with bravely default. Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh my god. You would have spent the entire flight on that game, I know, instead of the entire flight running around in circles waiting for fish to respond until I mean you could have you could have changed the clock on the system that says it will mess things up. They warned me about that. It only messes it up when you set it back to real time and then yeah, then but I think they'll come up and go like they stop fucking doing that. She said the turnips would go rotten if I did that. Well, fuck the turnips. Okay, I don't know. Like some people make it much money on turnips. I can't deal with the stock market. And nobody likes to eat him. They like to trade him. Yeah, it's the stock market. Yeah, it's a horrible things are turning up. No, I don't know. I think she said something anyway, that was my game experience, the animal crossing. Yeah, relaxes me. Yeah, that's exactly. Yes, just fishing, just fishing. Even Max got bored of it. He's two, Yeah, catch a fish, sure, catch a fish, sure, put it away. Okay, okay, you're the boss. You're the boss, buddy. Let's go play Monster Trucks. Oh you didn't unlock the monster trucks. Not in the game. Okay, all right, Drew, you unlocked the monster trucks. If monster trucks, uh are the same as ballet moves, then yes, yeah, pretty much. They called the ballet on dirt m dirt ballet. I've heard that, uh yeah right, And I played Bounding Yeah, that's uh that they maybe you did. It's pretty cool. Do you feel like he's bounding was pressed upon you? Yeah? Uh, that game is I was promised dips. I think you just assumed that maybe maybe I got dips two of them boom, maybe in the later levels. Going with that was a really early going with like fifties puns now, okay, all right, yeah, okay, yeah, all right, blockhead whatever, daddy, keep it cool. Yeah, we're just like residing scripts from the sean on On TV show at this point. Is that how this is going? Uh? That game is, uh is really hard. I feel like that's one of those things that you and a friend will play over and over to try to nail be and a friend. Yeah, you like I'm trying to nail our friends and well yeah, okay, all right, no, I got it. Uh, So you basically describe it, It's it's hard to describe. We described We talked about it after the Pact show. Yeah, we describe videos already, so I think videos up. Check out the video. You're basically both two people are holding a cell phone trying to coordinate their movements, and it looks like dance if you don't dance if you're doing it right. Yeah, it uses the drivscope. Yeah. Uh yeah, so we played that. I played some titan Fall three sixty Yeah, what do you think it is? All right? I kind of want to see that because I was out when I showed up. So you guys did the quick look and oh yeah, I really don't know this much. I haven't seen any of it. I mean, I'm just curious. It's not like I'm not like y'all want to play it. Yea, it is not sixty games a second, sure, it's okay. Uh. And then I also played we just got done with a quick look of war game Red Dragon, which is the sequel to war game AirLand Battle and war game European Escalation. Okay, it's like a Cold war thing, right. These are Cold war RTS games that have both a strategic and a tactical element. These are the guys who made Ruse. Oh okay, there's a lot of weird Okay, way out man waves right. Yeah. I feel like Microsoft Surface, yeah, table out or Intel graphics. That stuff works great, like the zooming in and out and even just as a means of like moving around a map and seeing what's going on. That it works great. But yeah, I feel like RUS was their Ugen Systems is the is the developer think it was their stop gap between like just figuring out that technology and making a good game with it, right because because RUSE was very much just the strategy, the real RUSE was getting Ubisoft to give them money to make it. Okay, nice, Yeah, likes not publishing this one. Yeah, but it's it's very complex. This one does not really have a tutorial. Per Se has like some text documents you can read, right, but there's a really good guide on the forums. True answer me this question? Yeah, how did we get to the end of April twenty fourteen and we're just now getting to a point where there's a video game series called war game? Granted has been around for some years, but war game, Yeah, I don't know it's war games. I think there was war games. Yeah, so I think that was a misdirection, like, oh, war games, we can't just put a S. There's already an S so that's great, okay, all right, And someone was like, oh, war game, isn't that a little on the nose? I mean, it's a game they do. It's about one word, right, yeah, one word? Okay, But it really is. It is. Uh, it kind of inhabits the name. I would say, there's a lot of like this. I wish it looked more like a sand table, but it kind of looks like that in the strategic view, so you move around board pieces like a like on a board game. Yeah, on a real map, like we were in the Korean peninsula. And then based on where your chess pieces move, you zoom in to an RTS fight, an RTS fight on that area. So it's like our con but with command and conquer our concker or man in our conquer there you go, a million dollar idea, just spit that out there, boom, and then conquer. Yeah, like a conquers bad for a day, but you right click on his nuts. Yes, and then and then and then, like a half asked move, the parody appears. I'm sorry. War game yep. What do you think about it? I like it. It is perhaps dense, would you see? It is very dense. Yes, A lot of numbers to keep up with, a lot of stats, yeah, a lot of interrelated systems. I think it's one of those things where you can kind of do some guesswork and achieve decent results. But if you really want to squeeze everything out of your forces, then you're gonna take a deeper dive like I like this. Yeah, all right, but yeah, I'm not sure that game is for me. I enjoyed what I did play of it, but it is a very complex. Okay, and Brad, how's about you? Hi? Hello? Talk to me about Child of Light. I started playing that this and S remix too. Okay, well that was that was gonna lead with that. Yeah, okay, Well, let's let's talk about it. Hottest of retro bangers. I heard I read on the internet that you don't like Kirby. It's not that I don't like Kirby. I had never played it before. Well, I don't like the way it plays. How about that? You're talking about first original n S Kirby or just Kirby and Gen Well that first. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, as Brad's attorney advise him not to talk anymore, Okay, we'll just move on to the next question. Please, I got let me set the record straight here. Listen, Brad, listen, people need to hear this. I got none to love for kourage me. We'll be back. Thank you. Don't you say anything you just shot the buck up on the analysts. Okay, you want to serve gap shot the buck up one? Uh? Next question please all right? Uh? Of the games contained in any s remix too, would you say that Kirby is one of your favorites or one of your least favorites. My attorney has advised me not to speak on this matter. Next question, please all right? I actually, I actually think that NIS Kirby was not not one of my favorite games, but it also came out so so so late, didn't really didn't really. Yeah, that seems extra crazy then, because like, never having played it, I didn't realize this, but going from games that run well, like say Mario three, to that game which has all kinds of slowdown and like Sprite Flicker and just kind of not great controls in general. Yeah, like it made it seem like a super early jankie, just like poorly made game in comparison to some of that other stuff, Which is a really interesting observation because I'm not sure that that, you know, aside from emulators, that going so quickly between those games has ever really been possible. Yeah, Kurby Kirby's Adventure was released in nineteen ninety three. That's the very first one. Yeah, okay, so think about that. It's a sound concept, you know, it's like it's cool. You know, it's like eat enemies and get their powers like that's yes, yeah, no, nothing wrong with that idea is And I'm sure I'm sure subsequent Kirby games have been great, but I didn't. He was pin you know, pinball game, and that was awesome. He's been a golf ball. I heard that yarn heard that yarn based game was pretty good. Yeah, you know, it's not for me, but people seem to really like four Alex Navarro, Yeah, because that too is solved. I would say that that game and Warrio's Woods or the two. I don't much care for that collection. Yeah, not a big fan of Warriors. And I also had ever played that one before this. Yeah, but the rest all right? Son, he has remixed two, So is it just any of remix different games in it? Absolutely that first game with different games like same same minu graphics, same musical cues, same like same everything around the games that you're playing, Right, I thought the games were better, more fun, better games, but but also but also the same issue in there. What else is in there. What else is the Metro Mario too, Mario three, Jeans, Mario two US Mario two, well actually all three sorry lost, although they call it lost levels, So it's the US branded one, but all three of those Mario games, Zelda two, The Adventure of Link. Yes, punch Out. Did we say that Mike Tyson's punch Out? Uh? I don't know. I don't think they can. And they stop at uh bald bull or No? Who's who's higher in the Who's a higher tier? Is a Piston Honda or bald Bull? I think it's Piston Honda, right ball, isn't he on the last circuit? No, Piston Honda? You fight? We find him like twice, I think him twice. Anyway, those are probably pretty early. Those are Oh wait, actually you're right, he's like third or fourth and then he shows up again later, right, so he's he's he is below bald Bull. So like the hardest guys you see in the there's only seven levels of punch Out, which is really sad to me because I blew through him all in like five minutes. But yeah, it's like king, how do they remix punch Out? Like? I haven't I haven't hit I haven't hit a stage that has any punch out elements black and white. Actually, you know what, I've almost got pixelated. I've almost got all the levels of Remix two opened up at this point, and I just saw like the little portrait and some of them show who's gonna be in there, and there is a punch of character in one of those, so I'll find out. But it's Christmas kidd Chris. Yeah, uh kidda Chris is a weird fucking game. Yeah, It's it's fine. I guess I just don't have any yeah already. Yeah, it's a weird fucking game. Yeah, like you've got a credit card? Is you turned everybody into hammers? It's it's a yeah, like it's it's forced scrolling, but you run through one side of the screen and out the other. Like it's just makes sense. Yeah, I feel like we're missing one or two. Yeah, it's not coming to me right now. Anyway. I think it's a better it's definitely a better lineup of game Doctor Mario. Yeah. But uh, in addition to looking exactly the same as that first one, it has the same problem of you are going to play at least an hour to an hour and a half of this before you get a bunch of the good remix stages in ice hockey an it's open tournament, golf ship. Yeah, none of those are open for me yet. Also, there is Super Luigi Brothers. Did you see that? Yeah, we've played that. All that is is Super Mario Brothers scrolling like a levels reversed and scrolling right to left and you play Luigi with his big floaty jump. So yeah, I played it once like I'm good. And then it's got the it's got the in the World Championship mode in it, which is, oh yeah, the same through challenge. So our our understanding of it when we did the quickly because yeah, the three challenges in that never change. Yeah, but it doesn't say but that seems crazy because it seems like you'd get tired of Championship was a specific right, It is these three games, but it's you play it for each game for this long. But it's not those score it's not those, it's games from this collection. But like Doctor Mario is one of them. Uh, because it wasn't a Tetris in the original Yeah, what was a Tetris? Was it? Mario three? Mmm? That sounds right. Like Mario three, Tetris, and one other thing I can't remember. The three were in this one and this one. It was Mario three was one of them something else and then Doctor Mario was a rad racer that might so maybe it was Mario one. Actually, yeah, it's Super Mario. It's it's yes, it's Super Mario Brothers rad Racer and Tetris. Okay, this is Mario three, was something? Was it Mario one as well? Did you get like ten coins twenty coins? And maybe well I think it was Mario three, Mario one, Doctor Mario in this anyway, point is like it didn't seem like those challenges we're ever going to change because they had leaderboards for him. Yeah, although it's possible they'll cycle them in and out, who knows. But that was another thing I wasn't gonna spend a ton of time with. Like the the main mode is still the reason to be here. But although if you really didn't like the first s remix, you're probably not gonna be into this either. Yeah, that sucks. I still think that there's a great concept there to doing things with those old games to change them up. They're just not going far enough, and it's super fucking boring. I also think I maybe had more patience for this one because I knew what it was getting into it, as opposed to that first one. They didn't they announce and release it on the same day. Yeah, so it was like the trailer and you're looking at it going like, oh dude, they're making like a like they made warrior Ware four years We're crazy. It's like the eight bit warrior Ware, Like the best part of Warrior where built into a full game, and it turned out to not be that all. They just have incredible pacing problems with that game. Yeah, not being able to move directly to the next challenge slow stuff. That's just like when you started playing Metroid the first challenge was like get the ball and then like open a door. That open the door with missiles. Now like jump and it's like, come on, man, do all the way back down to the next one. You can't, just for the most part, if you don't unlock any levels, because it'll scroll over to those and show them unlocking. You can just pop down one to the next one, but it still kicks, but you still have to go back to the menu to start the next level. Yeah, you should just cruise and like tally it up at the end. Man, I'm moving. I will say I didn't clear out any one game and the first one and I've done several in this one, and they get pretty hard, like they find ways to make so I'll give them that, even in the ones where they're not remixing a game, you're just playing the game. Yeah, some of the some of the balloon was that Kirby the parasol. Yeah, apparently that it sounded like there was an entire mechanic around that parasol I was missing. Oh that would have made that way more manageable, but you know, never play Kirby. I don't know what that was. But like there's all the two one makes beats all the two look like, yeah, like you beat, you end up beating like the last three bosses, including shadow Link at the end. One of them is to play through like two pretty hard stages of a lot of dodging and stuff with one sliver of health, like one hit and you're great. Yeah, that one's pretty tough. A lot of stuff like that, so it's at least challenging. Yeah, the games seemed more up my alley. Yeah, yeah, I would be really curious to see if they ever do a super in the US one of these. That was the story going around as they said, if you know, fan reaction is positive, they could do Snatch, they could do GBA. They also they released these on disc in Japan, like one and two on the same disc. Interesting, Uh, just came out or is coming out? I feel like it's still sound. They just really need the tweak they're pacing. They just need to make you know. But they did it with like they Wario, where such a weird thing like siloed the way off to the side of like feelings picking and yeah, but it just needs that where got developed in a broom closet somewhere where nobody knew what was going on that wire. He's crazy, you know. Most Nintendo games are so tutorial heavy and like so much force. I mean, you're playing Animal Crossing right now, am I? How many times do you have to talk to that owl every time you go in the museum before you donate a bone? Every time? Every every time, every time he says, hey, you know what that reminds me of when I was in my bird Baby feathers, Like you could probably recite that whole thing verbatim. At this point, he goes who who, because usually in the morning and they wakes up, and then he goes, oh no he sleeps at night. No, he's like And then he says, what would you like to do? And I say make a donation? And he says, you don't have anything to donate and said, I thought I had a fish in here. Fuck I left that in the cabinet, got a bail out of three more conversations with him. Run back to the train station, whereas my only cabinet I have so far, Go find the fish that I didn't bring in, bring it backs that who who? I'd like to make a donation? And then he says, oh great, can I go inmentry to find a fish? And they fucking goes on for like four screens about how this is so great, this is the greatest thing ever. Reminds me when I was a baby. And then I get out, Yeah, thanks me at twenty minutes. Yeah, anyway, that's a face out and that is just incredible. It's like a half orgasm, half he's diet. I've tried to that's those are the best ones. You know what you're trying just ease, you just Hey, Okay, I think I'm good. You have to just kind of let your face go slack. Holy yeah, is that what it looks like. I hope that it hope that it just like goes away. Holy yeah. You made your face muscles just give up. Really didn't want to sneeze on this podcast? Wow sneeze earlier. Man, it's I broke the cheese steal. Should have just gone for it anyway. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I think you're you should not hold your breath for those games to get faster for you know, maybe they'll hack those and he anathetical they would make a new another New Warrior Wear, like I don't know three s wirior work. Well no, actually I take that back, because the touch is on the bottom of the three D is on the top, so you can't even use both of those at the same time. Are stuff they could do weird three D trickery, They could do some stuff they could do for new Warria Wear. I'd like a new rhythm heaven. Also. I mean that's really I feel like that's that's what's coming down to is when it comes to Nintendo. If it's just like these guys just made Warrior wearing Rhythm Heaven every couple of years. Just put that on your alternating schedule, Warrio Ware every two years, Rhythm Heaven every two years. Eventually I would not want to play any of those, but it'd be a little bit. Yeah, those games are fun. What else? Brad Child's Light seems pretty cool so far. Yeah. I just managed to snag that this morning and start playing. But it is a side scrolling role playing game made with the Ubi Art stuff that you know from the ray Man games. Wait, it's right, man, So it's that engine. Yeah, so they can be used to make art of that quality. And it's not so imagine imagine, you know, it's a lot more. Uh, there's more of a melancholy to it. You know, it's kind of a somb It's got a somber tone. How much sadness is very story bookie. You're a little girl who dies in the intro. So yeah, all right, that's that's the start of the game. Yeah, well, you you die and enter this fairy tale realm three world. I don't really say. You were in your bed one night and caught a chill and then you're dead. I imagine the game is probably I'm sure that you know, is it like old old times? Probably questioning to someone got a dryer vent hose and hooked it up to their car and then put it in her window. Actually, actually they left the ceiling fan on. What does that do? Don't you know? No, don't ever go to sleep the ceiling fan on. Jesus Christ. What happens? The monsters that are sitting on the top of the blades jumps off? True, so does everyone in South Korea. It's uh, it's just life advice. It's said in eighteen ninety five in Austria. Okay, you're like that, you're the princess or the daughter of the I'm the prince as lord of the land. I don't know that you call him became a you can do a German accent, yep. And what do you do once you're side scrolling? So, I mean it's got platforming. You run back and forth and jump up on the platforms to get things as you would in a platform. But the combat is all turn based. It's like Chrono Trier style, like you see enemies running on in the world. Yeah, but when you touch him, it transitions, yeah to a battle screen, and it's all it's all turn based combat. It's Combat's pretty cool. It's got like a little timeline at the bottom where like icons and all the characters are moving toward like an action point. Like when they get to that point, that's when they'll use the ability that you've got qued up. Yeah, but there are ways to slow them down so that you can overtake them on that bar and get to act before them. Is is there any puzzle element default I've been braving pretty much like if you're if you're pretty and so, you've got a You've got a little firefly dude like spirit that you control with the right stick as I do basically like a cursor. It's basically a mouse cursor that you moving around the screen, but you can do things with him during battle to like put him on top of enemies to slow them down, or pick up health that spawned on the side of the screen, like for a co op partner to do. There is a second player can grab a controller and do that asynchronously. Can you use a move controller to do it? Doubt it. You can use the touch pad though, if you like. There's a little bit of a puzzle solving. I'm like an hour and a half into it. So I can't say for sure, but there's a little bit of puzzle solving in the world, but it's mostly of the like, right this elevator up and pull a switch to open the door down their variety. It's it's, you know, real rudimentary progression stuff so far, but it might get more interesting than that. The RPG mechanics are very superficial, like there's no gear to equip, Like, no, you don't get new swords and armor and stuff like that. You're just allocating skill points. Ever, as far as I can tell, there's nowhere in the menus for you to equip new stuff. You do get gems that you can put on your sword and shield. They give it differently. I've got a fire gem on my sword right now, and there's magic spells, but pretty pretty streamlined RPG stuff making this Yeah, I came out of Montreal interesting. It's it's pretty neat. Yeah, we'll do a quick look after I play some more of it, alright, anything else? Uh? Great gray wolf Siff, I'm sorry, great gray wolf Siff. What do you thank you? You're running up against the wolf. I got to him. You're running with the wolf. Fuck man, So I hang on, actually, yeah, I got the framped. Yes, So I put this game down for like the last three weeks. Peter Frampt Ye, Peter Frampt Man, you don't, Peter frampt kindle and come alive, man, You have no idea. So yeah, I started a new character for a while back and was making really good progress, and then put it down again for various reasons. So I picked it back up a couple of days ago. Yeah. Uh, forced my way through Blacktown hug In Okay, met Frampt Yes, I thought the game was fucking with me. I was like, what, Yeah, Like, it's a pretty weird game to begin with, right, that thing is a whole other level of weird. He's pretty weird, dude when you see that. Yeah. Then I went to the woods in the dark Root area and I saw the giant mushroom men. Yep, I said, what the fuck is going on here? What is that? I don't even know what you're talking about anymore. And then I got to sif last night, Yeah, and I said, that's a giant wolf's big with an even giant or sword in his mouth. Maybe you're just really small. Maybe I don't know. Then I found the talking cat and I joined her covenant, but then she immediately accused me of betraying them and because you killed one of the dudes disappeared. Is that what happened? Yeah? Probably Did you beat Siff? No? No, sad No? Did you find that out? A bunch of people on Twitter today we're being like, yeah, that's like the saddest boss fight ever. Yeah, it's like it's just a giant wolf of the giant saur who murders me every time. Like, oh, you just seem so sad. You just wait? Am I gonna find out even without having done the DLC? Yes, okay, but doing the DLC, he's in some of the DLC. All right, Should I try to beat him? Or should I just go do sins again? You can beat him? Do you remember? Am I equipped right now? Did you sins Fortress? No? No, no, I've done that on my old character. Like that's where I need to go to get back to where I was. Yeah, Like, should I finish up this detour and try to beat him or just shut Yeah? I don't give a shot. I don't know where your characters at all? Right, Okay, aren't your fucking mom. I can't handle I can't handle it. Yeah, you want this. This is a cifilist pod, sif list, sifflist podcast. This is a sif list podcast. Okay, survivors of I should really get a wind scream with this mic. Yeah? Anything else? Anything else? Nope? All right? Going to patches out? Yeah, a thumbs up, thumbs down. I know it came out like an hour ago. Okay, I don't know yet. Changes seem in sane Okay, big big changes, patches, big changes, big change, dontus charging? Yeah, I was if I interpreted some tweets correctly. There was a big tournament going on, and the patch came out the tournament, and I think, if I'm not mistaken, like there was a fight like a series that had gone to five games, and I think they were only going to play their final game after the patch come out on these new changes. I might be wrong about that. Crazy. Well, I played some amazing Spider Man two this morning. It's not amazing. Well, it's amazing, yes that it exists on which platform? Jeff? I played the Xbox one version? Really, you remember, correctly? Was the version that was not coming out. Yeah, I'm gonna go buy that right now. Yeah, don't go to a store it's only available digitally, which till they pulled it down. No, as of this I bought it hours after. Yeah, not as of this recording. I bought it a couple hours after, like it had been discovered and like, you know, Microsoft employees were on Twitter talking about it. So it's yeah saying like, hey, this is out. So it seems to just exist. I don't know, we don't know the story there, like why the game got delayed, if there was some issue that you know, maybe maybe they could impress it. Maybe maybe, or maybe it's just a business thing. It's like some sort of contract thing got sucked up. You know what, way did all the versions come out today? All the versions came out today except yes, except for Xbox one, Like it came out of Xbox three sixty today, right, But but you played it. The story a couple of weeks ago was like it kind of just vanished, and there was a statement from them saying we're working with Microsoft to get this game out there. And then yes, it came out today. I purched it for fifty nine and ninety nine cents nine dollars and nobody's faces are upside down. No, No, it has not seemed broken yet. It just doesn't seem like a very good game. But I briefly spoke with someone who played the PS four version and they said, this doesn't seem like a very good game, So you know, maybe this isn't unique to the Xbox One version. H Yeah, I don't know. You swing around the city. It's an open world game, and it is exceedingly dark. I had to turn the brightness and most of the way up to make it work, to make it make it viewable. It has a really janky camera when you're kind of moving around the city. Like the swinging is supposed to be kind of more real or whatever, like it's attaching to stuff and you're doing left arm, right arm and also stuff, which I didn't find to be like a particularly enjoyable mechanic. But when you're swinging, I mean, if you're the sort of person that only judges a Spider Man game by like how does the swing look, then you know it can look pretty good. I feel like that's kind of the only metric I would have. Yeah, it is the triple hious hair of comic book video games. Yeah, well, what are you doing after you get to a point? You have Batman combat but really half assed, like counter you know, punch counter, signature move when you get your combo up to a certain number, or get a guy dizzy or something like that. You're collecting comic book pages in the world and navigation sort of sucks and the camera's really jankys. Yeah, you were taking pictures. I had to take a picture of a laptop that was on top of the hood of a cop car and of Coppa stand next to it to get some data. And that was just in the world. Didn't make a picture sound like, yeah, yeah it did. Like Yeah, that Genesis Spider Man game is pretty good. Yeah, it really was. It really was. That was a pretty good one. Yes, that is a fantastic fucking game. It was a pretty good Spider Man game on the Comer sixty four. I jumped over like Ryano. I disagree, he was fantastic. Disagree. That's not a good game. Uh. There was like an infocom text adventure Spider Man game. Yeah that's right. Yeah, so I saved Stanley from a burning building and he runs a comic book shop. Yeah is her voice acted? Uh huh, getting his ching and likeness and the subtitles just like he his name is character name is just stan Okay, wow, I didn't know he had a gambling problem. Yeah, uh, you know he's he's about his old as are older than those guys in The Hobbit that we were talking about. He sounds way younger Stanley. Yeah, he sounds he's doing really well for his age. Then his brother christis pushing Yes, exactly. M yep. The Lee brothers separated at birth. Yep, save Marriam, but then she got shot at the start of the second one. You're like, whoa, yeah that we played the Hobbit as well, not the Station two. Rarely from Spider Man. M Hobbit. What Lego game Boy, Lego the Hobbit that they made a Lego game really complicated? Really, theyve been go in that direction for a while. It was like this one's got crafting and weird mini games and side quest if you think about it, all legos crafting. Well, don't get me wrong, Brad and I are idiots, all right, we're not five year olds could take us to school, but we were how like drive a car like five year olds are pretty sure, probably have to like walk us in on the box and probably hold our hands. Don't cross, Okay, streets, the black ones. He would know not to talk to strangers. Yeah, and we would just be spinning in a circle, rolling in the grass. I'd I'd be eating some Uh but yeah, I think it was weird anyway. It's yeah, it's like the textures. So, I mean, this is a game that's on you know, it's straddling generational lines and all that sort of stuff. But you look at it and it looks grungy, like the and the menu UI and stuff like that. Like all the text is super big, like it just has this real like almost PS two look to the UI uh design h They're just like, well, how did this fucking happen? Like, what does be enox doing? How does this occur? Yeah? Who's how snarky? Is a spider Man? It's just modeled after it's a movie spider Man. It is. I think this is based on the movie Andrew Garfield Spider Man. I don't know, Uh, I don't know. Uh. He was a little snarky, he was at one point. Yeah, you know, it's pretty edgy. You know, I don't know if you're ready for this level of attitude, But at one point he said something and it was like you were like, wait a minute, that doesn't seem like it'ld be true. And then after that he was like not and you're like, oh, and he didn't even mean what he said. That's foe so crazy. He didn't. Yeah, he gave you like a whole two seconds where you were Yeah, you were like, yeah, you were hanging. You're like, but that doesn't sound like I think Spider Man would say, and he was like not, Like fuck, dude, Spider Man, that's fucking crazy, and then he swung out of there. Yeah, it's a picture one for JJ. Yeah, like shitty looking blur effects like I thought the game looked real bad, can't wait to see it. Yeah, we'll do a quick look at that. I've, you know, kind of got out of the tutorial and and haven't played too much more. Kind of got to the open world and went like, man, this looks ugly, so can a lot to do here? Yet? Can you have player control? When you're interacting with Stanley? He shoot webs in his face and I ran up and picked him up, and yes, I could have shot webs in his face. Actually now mentioned I probably could have probably could have shot webs in his face. But he runs the Comic Book Shop, which is where they hide all the concept art and ship there'll find statues that you can look at it. It actually says like the tool tip was, like, you'll find statues and you'll say cool things like I doubt that very seriously amazing Spider Man too, But I bought that version, and we have the PS four version. You know, we'll probably just yeah, I don't know, we'll do something with that. At some point, it just seems kind of amazing. It seems kind of rotten, but rotten. Spider Man two just doesn't roll off the tongue quite so well. And at some point I played some leisure suit Larry uh commagna come loud, that's what sure minigame collection for original Xbox Yeah. Yeah, I had that wind up on here TV. Yeah. Things happen. I don't know, it's a life happens. Yeah, life happens. And then you find yourself enough enjoying some leisure suit Larry. It's enjoy it, it's taking it. It's got it's got it's appeal. Okay, ten years after the fact, you look back on and go, like, man, all these mini games are fucking terrible, But holy shit, what a weird fucking thing. Uh and uh yeah, I think that's that's about it. I think yeah, tross Fusion. I played some of the PC version of that and turned it up to Ultra and the framework out real bad and I was bummed out. And yeah, what do you say we get into some news, you guys, there's news. There is news. I've got some news here. Let's hear it. No, okay, because first, yes, there's this. Now we're back with news. Oh so much news? Yeah, so much news? Is there? Well? I saw a story that I thought was interesting. All right, Well, you know, we're gonna play a fun game where you know, I got us some stories over here, and if it's one of those stories, then great, and if not, then you can bring it up a buzzer or something like that. I think you hit the news buzzer. Okay, let's hear your first what's your first story? Nintendo? What's sex story? Platform? Excusive z Mark? Okay? All right, well, I'm just gonna go back at the top, and you know, you just you just tell me this game sex is Worsted Animal Crossing. Yeah. Nintendo has announced their E three plans and it sounds very similar to their E three plans from last year. I e. There's no press conference. They're doing a awesome thing where an animated character yells racist comments at me. Yeah probably eventually, Yeah, animated Mario will say, Hey, forget about it. Hey, you'll look at Italian You want to eat spaghetti with Mario? Come to old famous Mario's Jesus Christ. Yeah, uh yeah, No, Prescott it's again. But they are going to be streaming from the show to get there, just bypassing the press step and bypassing the part where they get a bunch of people in a room. No, kid, they don't need it. They didn't do that. They had a little best thing that they did not stream out. But then they had a Nintendo direct or whatever you call that was aimed at you know that that was out there around the same time. Is that what they're doing this time or is it a stream from E three. They're running a stream from ME three, so I think that's new. But they are gonna run some stuff. They're also putting a Smash Brothers demo in Best Boys that week, so you can go to a Best Boy during the week of the three I guess and play some Smash Brothers. If you're into that, that would be that's requires too much Internet, too much understanding. Absolutely cannot do that. Don't back off, fucking crazy kind of monsters downloaded a software pirate? Yes, with your internet? Yes, No, much better to put this in the best Yeah, exactly, all those best buys that are open. It's not like the one that I went to most frequently just closed down or anything. It's a booming business, totally perfect to associate yourself with that amazing brand Nintendo. Uh. Yeah, So they'll they'll bypass the part where everyone gets in a room and they will just put a video up on the internet that says the exact same stuff as the press conference. And this is not that big of a deal. Like people are all like, oh man, you can tell that they're fucked because they're not having a press conference, but everybody says that about everything. Yeah exactly. It's like what I mean, they have information. They get the information out there, whether or not people have to go sit in a room to get that information or they just put it up direct on the internet, Like really, who fucking cares. It's probably smart of them to do it. Yeah, and it lets me sleep in in an extra hour or two on that Tuesday, the first day of God more power to them has been ahead of the game for years. Yeah, exactly. You just have to get up at like quarterle six on Tuesdays. And it was nice to get out there. You know. It's like a lineup in you know whatever. It was. It was fun. It was a fun start to the day. But but that's a long day. They don't need it, as it turns out, you know, and I don't you know, you could argue that a lot of the three is perhaps unnecessary and it's just a big dog and pony show and dick waving competition and stepped out of it and said, like it you missed the competition. They hold it out back South Hall. You know, it is the outdoor stretch that connects the two halls. They said, of the food trucks and stuff that's behind that little tent. Uh, it's usually where the dick waving contest is. I mean, I need like a direct feed drop over there or like it's just film, it's just film off the screen. Yeah, we can probably Game Spots got the exclusive on that, so they'll be filming that, I think. Yeah, anyway, that doing that this year. Yeah, Okay, yeah, that's still happening. It's still E three. But no Nintendo presser. God damn it. They always had coffee at there, they did. Yeah, that was that coffee and you know, and good people. Yeah, it was. They actually were super nice. Was actually always one of the easiest ones to cover. I like that. I like that theater they always had it in La Lives. It was right next to the convention center. Had some fun trivia on the screen before the press conference. A lot of blue a lot of blue lights. Yeah, a lot of blue lights. I would usually get a pretty decent seat, and then we would sneak Brad into the section that he was not supposed to be in so we could sit together, and then the people with Nintendo hardware strapped to them would oh, oh that's right. Yeah the dark phase. Maybe it was pretty bad. Yeah. So they'll be streaming stuff at during the show and getting the news out there. It's cool and probably saving some money in the process. It's I bet it's an expensive thing to put it on a press conference, I would have to guess. And even if it's not insanely expensive, if that's kind of be a logistical nightmare. Yeah, that's just gotta be that's gotta be all hands on deck putting that show. Yeah, it's one of those appearance things that I think, you know, like people look at it and go like, oh, you know, there's there's obviously a problem here. But you know, and you know, hey, guess what, there's obviously a problem there. But I don't think that this is the thing you look at to say, hey, there's a problem. You look at it and go like, well, meb E three should be a lot smaller and we should all get into these sorts of tactics instead and all that stuff, instead of like, instead of like the idea that like we're putting a press conference onto television, think about that. What I mean, it's interesting, you know, people want to watch it absolutely, But what was it two years two years ago when when it just started becoming an apparent, when when it was addressing the crowd all you hear and all on Facebook and Spike TV. Yeah, Santa Monica was going way too far. Yeah, but there's some merit to the idea of reducing E three to the important part. I think it's just, you know, it's focusing on E three for what it is as a you know, as a trade show and maybe like the consumery aspects of it, I think, just get a little weird aspect to it of just like all right, this is a this is a press conference, and you know there's fascinating details and stuff like that, and obviously the people that are extreme fans of video games will want to watch press conference. Well whatever Apple does it too, Like culture has changed, I guess is the things. But maybe it's not that big of a deal. But I think the part for us, or the part for the industry covering it, is that everything's gearing so much towards it all being recorded, and the way there's structuring stuff is so that it's they all know it's recorded and then they're releasing all that's releasing it all themselves and broadcasting it themselves. So the idea that like that, like you know, outlets like ours are still like, oh, we need to go negotiate for can we get a direct feed drop at your press conference broadcast online? What are you doing? Like so that the part that's becoming more and more apparent is that it is becoming easier to cover that show with without attending, almost like you almost are better off just being like I'll just watch everything and like people at home have direct access to the trailers while we're on the show floor. They see the stuff coming, the differences. You know, we're playing stuff and there's some hands value there. I'm not you know, don't take this to say that I'm saying E three is dead. Were like, I fucking love either. Well, I mean more of the press conferences. Yeah, the press conferences are a little weird because like that stuff is getting released simultaneously all over the world. There's no longer like, you know, you gotta be here live blog, Yeah, exactly, you have to beat in the building to run a live blog, right, No, right, Yeah, the hands on stuff is still amazing and the access is awesome. Yeah, being able to talk to people like after the fact and get some clarity like the hang on, I gotta cram this video card in my laptop and juggle all the markup tags in the back end of our thing. Juggle the back end. And I'm not saying like there there's definitely an energy to being in a room for a press conference and stuff, but I don't know, Yeah, it's fun to be there, but like we you know, this question, we've been stepping back and asking ourselves this year, right, Yeah, yeah, a little bit a little fun to go to those things, but like, what what inherent value are we actually getting out of it? Yeah, it's it's yeah. I think it's something that you know, I think the industry should ask, and I think Nintendo is is. I think Nintendo is definitely doing the right thing for Nintendo with a lot of this stuff and by speaking directly to its biggest fans and just saying like, look, we're gonna try to sell these products the people that already know what we're doing anyway, so we don't need you to do that. So uh yeah, more power to them, I guess. Uh, Metal Care, Solid Ground Zeros. Oh, I'm sorry, Wait, did you have a date? Is? Are they gonna still do it on Tuesday morning? Yeah, it's still the same time. Yeah, it's still Tuesday morning. And you know, last year they had an event which is where we got all that play the game stuff out of Reggie that was that was creepy as fuck. They might I don't know. I don't know. That's that's we haven't gotten invites to stuff yet. Like E three is still far enough away that we don't know. Patrick's headline said something about a robo Reggie. Yeah, there was a Mega sixty four video that had a thing and and like so like the whole thing was like robo Reggie's taking over our Twitter for a while on the official Nintendo account was posting stuff in all caps for a little while, and one of them was there will be no Urban Champion two. And I got bummed out because I'm like, you know what, I'd be the one fucking exciting, weird side step, left turn, crazy shit you could do that. I would be like, fuck, yeah, man, do it, so let's see what you can do. It's like nah, nah, no, we're not doing That's like Nick, guess what we've got? What na Mario Zelda smash Brother. I think they'll announce that we use Zelda. I mean they have that Dynasty Warriors alda game that still isn't out yet, so yeah, but I mean those could co exist, right. No. Also, I'm gonna say probably not. It doesn't mean it would come out this year. I'm gonna say that if they want to give that Dynasty Warriors Zelda game the time of day and get people to like pretend to care about it, they need to not announce a full Zelda game. Oh no, really, do you think that they would really make room for that? I don't know. I mean, they're in such a weird spot right now. It's I think it's kind of impossible to predict what they will do. That's what I'm saying on the software side, So maybe you're right. What else they have? I mean, hopefully they have something, something fucking new, because if we go to E three and they're like, hey, we're making a new legend of Zelda, yeah, like, okay, of course you are. I want to see what it looks like. Yeah, I want to play, Yes, I want to get a boomerang. I want to know if it's more. I want to know if it's more of the same ship or not. All right, what have I told you that? You get a boomerang, all right, and then you up upgrade it to a magic boomerang and win. They've said, what if you could draw on the WU screen? It would make the boomerang travel on a specific path, and then you Yes, the only thing that would be better than that it would be a hook shot. Brother, We've got a hook shot best Buy now? Yeah? Yeah, man, I don't know, that's I I'll take it. I own a wee. You give me something. Yeah, I would like to like Zelda game enough that I want to see what they're gonna do with it. That's it. I played. I played one Waker last year. What if it's Adventures of Link two? Okay, side scrollers, that'd be weird, that would be really weird. Yeah. Uh, Mental Gear Solid Ground Zeros had a platform exclusive content in it. That stuff is opening up to everyone on both platforms, made first, So do you get it? Everybody just gets it. Everybody gets both, like everybody gets both. So that happen. Cool? That game out this year fans No, no, or it could be but they have but no, no, but no, they said by the end of twenty fifteen, so no. Uh, Plants Versus Zombies. Garden Warfare is getting an update. They will add micro transactions. You can buy coins. They launched it with none of that stuff and kind of said, like, well, updated wc fit apparently they're seeing fit was to let people buy coins to buy the packs. I can't even buy the stuff that you want directly. It's you're just buying the currency to play the slot machine and open card packs. Yeah. The progression in their games a little unfortunate, but they've been putting out like actual free DLC though, with new maps and stuff, and so it's hard to knock them too. Really like that game. I would like to go back to it if I ever had time. It just seemed like the sort of thing that's like the I questioned the logic of putting that out, like EA putting that out so close to an EA published and distributed Titan Fall of just like, there's another competitive shooter on the exact same platform. By the way, uh z Mart Games, which is a Chilean retailer in Chile, Chile, Chile, Left Yeah, Chibos and Left Eye and Chile got together and decided to put up pages for something called Mass Effect Trilogy for the PlayStation four and Xbox One on this Chilean video game retailer website just yeah, just only come in there. Those pages have since been removed, but not Yeah. They waited a couple of seconds, and we're like, whatever, not is in Chilean? What are they speaking? Note? I don't think nine nine yeah speak German. Would you guys be at all interested in the three Mass Effect games coming to those platforms? Depends where they wear, Wait, what would they what else would they be? Are they touched up like mass effect one? It's pretty old? Does MAKEO control any better? One? The textures they actually do work exactly the same, right, And those games are like yeah, those games are between one and two are so different, Like do you just do you do anything to streamline one? Do you make people super angry for fucking with one? I doubt they make any major design changes. Did the textures still pop in? Because if not that I'm out film grain across all games, add film grain, I'm in. Finally the generation is here, Yes, and we can add film grain back to three? Can you make it so you can't import your character from two to three? Ye, even though they're even through the same disk. Sure. Yeah, that seems like a logical thing that they would conceivably that SI. So yeah, I did they include all the DLC in it? That's the big question. Let's say probably. Let's say, of course they wouldn't better a lot if it had a that is, for I assume it would be sixty bucks. Probably still, that is, man, that is like a lot of game, that's like one hundred, one hundred and fifty hours of stuff. Probably, Well, no way to know for sure that this thing even exists, but why would you make that up? So let's say it probably does. Apparently they found et Cartridges in that day. That was the one. Yeah, that was the story in that landfill in New Mexico. Yeah, I was really surprised. Yeah, that was a news story I saw that was like, wow, I really did not think they were gonna find it. Was Mike Micah there, he was really Chris Kohler went to that's awesome. Yeah, uh yeah, and a lot of people showed up. We actually got I'm gonna I'm gonna get into a brief uh electronic m here from Rob who was there. So let me before you do that. The story I read said that there a bunch of people showed up and then by the time they like unearthed them whatever, they were like four dudes there. Yeah, I would like it to be Rob, Mike, Micah Cohler and maybe one of their friends. He said they were in a tent playing et fun. So Rob writes in, say, just came back from the Alama Gordo landfill in New Mexico where they dug up the supposed mass grave of Attar of the Atari Cartridges. For the Horrible et game from nineteen eighty three. I drove down from my home in Santa Fe, which is about three and a half hours north of Side. I decided to wear a video game shirt. It was down to either the GTA tenth anniversary, the John Bomb twenty twelve, or Flynn's Arcade logo from Tron. I went with the Tron reference does it seemed more appropriate for the time period. Sorry. When I arrived in the general vicinity of the dig around noon, there were no signs pointing to the landfill. Either they put no effort in advertising the actual location, or all the signs blew away in the horrible winds that plagued the entire experience. I finally spotted a group of cars parked some distance off the main road and found the landfill. The person at the signing table informed me there were about three hundred and fifty people there, which was odd since the camera waiver I had to signed clearly informed me I was number four eighty one. As I mentioned, the winds in the entire state were vicious that day, exactly what you want when standing around a toxic landfill for hours. Thankfully, I had the presence of mind to bring along, wrap around sunglasses and the filter face mask. I was surprised at the number of people, including children, who wore nothing to protect themselves. There were numerous news and film crews. They're all surrounding a hole in the ground being dug up with a giant excavator. Someone brought a DeLorean like the one from Back to the Future and had filled it with a life size ET doll, a mister Fusion, a speaking spell, and numerous other eighties artifacts, including the fake sports almanac from Back to the Future Part two. Then Marty seals in twenty fifteen, So he plays bets on sports games back in nineteen eighty five. Yeah you might. It's easy to miss that little subplot in the Back to the Future trilogy, but that is what he's doing. There were two old TVs hooked up to play the ET game and a food truck. How anyone could eat food soppost to the landfill was beyond me. Howard Scott Warshaw was also there. Saw the game designer who unfortunately made ET but will hopefully be better remembers as the man who also made Yards Revenge, which is a great game. After about an hour, I've arrived, then made an announcement over a loudspeaker. They had uncovered the first ET cartridge. The urban legend about a tari burying cartridges into New Mexico landfill, you know, the story that it had been reported in the news back in nineteen eighty three, was apparently true. Go figure anyway. The crowd voiced their excitement with hoots and hollers. I stuck around to watch them dig up even more a tardy castaways, including numerous smashed boxes of Et Defender and Space Invaders. After an hour of standing in the landfill with clouds of dust coating my body, I left. Don't worry, you didn't miss the thing and probably avoided getting cancers. Yeah, did anybody hop in the cartridges? And I assume my understanding is they didn't find any playable cartridges? I heard they were. They were smashed, but playable. It might be wrong. The other thing I did not realize was that it was a landfill, right. I thought it was just gonna be carts buried in the dirt, not just garbage. It just took him to the dump. It's a garden somebody somebody dug up. But you know, the New York Times has like all of its old news stories archived on in sight. Somebody found a story from nineteen eighty three that's where they reported exactly this happening. But it was just all it was was like they were just they were getting out of the business and like clearing out of their warehouse because they you know, they were they were working and storing all those games that we're going to sell. Well, the thing I read too is there was nothing shady or shameful about it. Somebody was like, uh, somebody out of tari. I don't know if it was designer or what. It was like, Yeah, I know, we dumped them into landfill. And then was like, how came we never said anything to anybody through it over the last thirty years. It's like and he's like nobody asked. It's like, really, nobody ever asked like is this true? And no, I don't know. Yeah, I know that's what we did. Yeah, it just kind of became the Serban legend. But I didn't believe it. There is that New York Time story that Yeah, I wasn't sure they were gonna find anything either, because I figured, you know, like i'd heard some alternate theories about what actually happened to that stuff. That made some sense too, that that came it was apparently covered over and cement. I guess when they first did it, kids were going over there and digging them up, and then so they just put cement over the whole thing. I did not realize it was just fucking raw garments. So yeah, gross, gross, right, gross, that's not the dream I had thirty years old. Toxic gross, real crazy good little time costsle So somebody's making a documentary, right, Yeah, so they are shooting a documentary that is being funded by Microsoft. That's what I thought. So it's going to be one of the things like they announced a slate of programming that'll live on the Xbox One, like the Halo TV show. Yeah, like all of it looked I don't know, like reading the kind of log lines and just various descriptions for the shows, like a lot of it looked pretty bad. They should have kept this private then, I know, right, Like that's the thing. It's like, yeah, I might I might have watched that, but now it's like, oh, they found them, Okay, Like answer Skylanders is back, fantastic? Was that buried next to the other garbage. No Skylanders Trap Team. I watched that t Was that a trailer you posted or was that a documentary? A documentary of the real, real life Skylanders. It's toys to life but now it's real. Yeah. It was like four and a half minutes of like kids talking to Skylanders in a very weird Yeah. Who did they find? Where? Where are the trap masters? I don't know. The prison gets a prison gets blown up and a bunch of Skylanders escape and the prison is made out of trapptanium. Oh and so you have so you have to buy a new fucking portal again because because now so the hook in this is our traps. So you will fight villains, weaken them, and then store them in traps, which are physical totems that you stick on the portal. Yeah, and then they will it'll make noise like I guess the trap we'll have a speaker in it or the bass will or something and they're like, let me out of here. And then when you put them back in there, then they're good guys. So it's like a little figure, a little thing, a physical object. It doesn't even look like the figure you're controlling. Yeah, that you will put on and be able to unlock story or new characters in it. I guess, yeah, I don't. I don't know. Like this seems lame. This doesn't seem like a cool addition. This seems like a bad idea. Dark chapter in the Wan to make Giants was even bigger? Giants was not a very good game, Giant. Would you like the twist the Force? Right? It was a cold swap. Force was a cool idea. This just I don't. I don't see the appeal. I mean, maybe, you know, I guess little kids are fooled by shit that makes noise, So I am what if you could put it in like a VMU? Yeah take it with you? Yeah? Okay, how that might be? Yeah that might be interesting. Nintendo just non in on the is there some they missed the train too with the hardware too much? Like this is just Pokemon at that point, right, you're just capturing dudes. Yeah, you're catching them? Yeah boy? Yeah. So they'll be sixty new Skylanders and yeah, a new portal, which I thought that was done. I thought that they would have like but like this one. Now, the portal makes noise, so surely there's nothing else they would ever need The portal's done. They'll never have to sell another portal again, right, surely, right, right, right, you're secure, go for it all right, last port whatever need? Yeah. I don't know. It's that I've not seen the game in person, but watching that four and a half minute thing, it was psyched. It just that doesn't seem like a cool idea. I don't know. They seem like they're fucking grasping. It's like stuff here, uh on the competition and uh you know tomorrow Disney is announcing Infinity two point zero. Is that a new portal? I bet it will be. Yeah, well I bet that they'll be putting that stuff out on new platforms also, so if you want to move to PS four something that you would obviously need, they'll have a wireless portal. This is the thing with Captain America's Shield Invite. Yeah, yeah, the thing where they they put out a video that was like Infinity, but then there's a Captain America's Shield and you're like, well, what's gonna happen? Oh right, they're gonna put Marvel in it. Okay owns everything there. Yeah, yeah, promotion, it's going to happen. Extra's game will have Star wars. We can probably assume. Sure, yeah, that'll match up with the release the movie or something, right, Yeah, that makes sense. So yeah that that genre still trucking along, still making assloads of money in its own weird way. We'll see, Uh, game Stop is going to close one hundred and twenty stores of this fiscal year that I guess. I don't know. I don't know that. I saw the other Every town has two at this point, and they are getting deeper into other Yeah, other stores that they apparently own, like the same company owns spring Mobile, which is like owns and simply Mac, which is like an Apple store that doesn't run by Apple. That is, that is where they see growth coming from. And they're you know, kind of moving out of the games, moving out of games a little bit or shrinking their their their risk I guess in the shifting market. Yeah, I mean it only makes sense, you know. I only I only bring this story up because it looks like one of the things you'll get and go, well, yeah, digital sales. Why would there be a game Stop in ten years? Yep, in five years, in two years, PlayStation four firmware at one point seven, we've talked about it. We all know about it. It's been in the works for thousand years. Yes, this will remove HDCP. It will also add the ability for preloading and auto downloading and some other stuff stereo hopefully. Well don't don't hold on on the audio option. Uh. And also the share Factory Share Factory Video Editing suite, so you can cut together whatever the fuck it is you're recording. Let's also have the thing where you can just get the files off with USB. I think so, I think that's all part of this update. This coming see that tomorrow. Whoa, yeah, no, yes, that is in there. Well, I mean, keep like they detailed this stuff like what seems like a thousand months ago, so it doesn't it's like crazy that it's finally fucking out. That's what I'm saying. Here we go. You can also you can also stream games and actual seven twenty can I suspend? I mean no, boo? Yeah another Sony News Drive Club will be out October seventh. Bullshit, Okay, yeah, that's the right reaction there. Uh. Sports Friends is coming out May sixth on p four and three frost by fifteen bucks. Great Sports Friends. There like a move bundle with eight controllers in there. Seven controllers. Yeah, it's you're going to Amazon and clicking add to car eight times the most expensive game and going yeah yeah uh And that's all I got for news. Just talk about the ET thing. What Ete thing? Yeah, they found the et They found et what? Yeah? Where was he? He was in Brooklyn in that girl's closet and that well he had set up in the closet and then he had to expand his dealership outside. Okay, h yeah, so don't Jamaica Queen's kind of you know, he's not admitting fund found a pile of Reese's Pieces paraphernalia. They just followed the window. They just followed the Reesa's pieces. Yeah. Yeah, you don't they cook those You don't that ship those kids. They cook it down, They cook down the rees pieces. Not allowed to buy more than a bag at the time, exactly. Yeah. They if you look at your license all this other stuff, looks for that pink dot hi corneous. Yeah, they will steal your corneas. That's what that's what Ete's want. Yeah. They still make ess pieces, Yes, I had some recently. Things are good. That was the only Easter candy I got into. Was a friend of mine bought a some kind of Reese's peanut butter cup pack that was like the eggs Resa's eggs, which is nice because it's got more peanut butter than a regular cup would. No peeps, No, no peeps, fuck that ship. No cream eggs. That stuff's gross. Caramel eggs, orange egg No, that's the one you whacking fruit flavored chocolate. I don't know what that's what's that's about? Chocolate with liquor in it? Not a fan? Yeah, not really? All right? Uh And that's all I got for news. But I do have some emails. Emails positive, who's positive emails? Every email is positive. I'm positive that I got emails. Yes, emails, I'm very excited. More positive, bobcat positive email. Yes, I was looking for bombcasted Giant bomb dot com is the email address if you want to send it in emails, that's where you send them. Okay, who I mean, no one, that's it CC whoever you wants, sc your entire address book if you want. If you're a fucking weirdo, that's what company to do. Every single I'm sending information. I'm sending you this question to every video game website, imaginable and see seeing them all here so you can all see it's I got. Well, you're a nutcase. Thanks for letting us know off the top of the fucking email. You're weirdo anyway. Anyway, Sean rites in uh and as says, I was going through a box of my old nes games when I picked up one I had never given much attention to before. It's a copy of Total Recall, but it's got a generic white label with the game title and text that says please return to Acclaim seventy one Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay, New York, one one seven seven one Bay. Yeah, I haven't noticed anything dramatically different, but I haven't played it for all that long. It was given to me by by my stepfather, who lived in White Plains, New York at the time, which isn't too far from Oyster Bay. But he has never worked in the games industry, so I'm not sure how he came across it. Any idea what this might be. I haven't been able to find anything like it online, but my guess is it's an earlier, probably probably crappier version of an already bad in Yes game. Thanks guys, love the show. This is the point so Sean should go to Lost levels dot org and or just get on Twitter or something and get ahold of Frank Siffaldi. If you got prototype stuff, you should send it to him and he can make sure it gets properly preserved and stuff. It may very well be identical or super late beta and not noticeably different, but he will find out. Yeah, that have the tools. Yeah, you want to talk to him and ask him about I darbies. He works at other oceans. Talk to him about Oyster Bay. Talked about Oyster Bay, Yeah, Stewart and East Central Indiana rights, and it says, I hope you can help me. I'm trying to remember a game console that a friend of mine had back in the day. I know the console had to have come out before nineteen ninety five. I remember the controller had three buttons on the face and dpad genesis. Don't know if it had shoulder buttons or not. I know that it had a really good looking version of road Rash. I also remember an early childhood game. Were they talking Teddy Bear that had something to do with the birthday party? Nady no m Teddy Repskin. I also remember a Star Fox X Spaceship Shooter and a side scrolling Western Shooter, but nothing more than that. I know that's not a lot to go on, but I was like five or six when I played these games, so more than twenty years now. If that was enough to help you, but great. If not, maybe another listener will know what I'm talking about. Is it a Jaguars three D that's Fatty Bear? Probably probably only Western Fatty Bear got Fatty Bear's fun pack. I don't know what the side scrowing Western shooter or the star Fox esque shooters are, but oh wait, it could be like total Eclip Now Total Clips? Was that a space? Was that a ship game? Was on the top of my tongue for a second. It's not no, it's not. Well anyway, that's a three DO. The only the only other system that had a system that would have a really good looking version of road rash uh and and that's maybe being charitable these days, is the three D O. And it did have a three button controller, and it did have shoulder buttons. I was gonna say it did. Uh. Khalil writes in it says, what up, Giant bomb? I'm Khalil from Jamaica, Queens. All right, straight, I heard last week podcast about you talking about New York and our boroughs. As a Queen's native, I can say Jamaica and South Side Jamaica have gotten a lot better over years, not as bad as fifty cent and g unit Rise Up Era. I still wouldn't recommend walking outside solo late night in Rosedale. People still be getting robbed from time to time, but I doubt they would want to mess with doctor tracks suit That dude crazy. The absolute worst part of Queens is far rock Away. That place is fucking rough. Thanks for reading my email. Keep up the good work alright, thanks are Rockaway Queens? Yeah, I don't passed through. Have you been there? No? No, no, never? No island email. Yeah, let's hear it. Get our New York stuff from one Pat Bear. Oh yes, hello Drew on the bomb gas. You were curious about Roosevett Island. In two thousand and nine, I dated a girl who lived there. Here are some facts about Roosevett Island. All right. While you can take the air tram there, most people commute by subway or bus. Almost no one has a car on the island. Roosevelt Island has been called Welfare Island and hog Island. Before they built apartments, NYC housed a prison, a hospital, and an insane asylum on the island. The prisoners built the hospital. The hospital is abandoned and there are a bunch of greenies outside. In the first Ninja Turtles movie, the Secret Layer of the Foot Clan is on Roosevelt Island. Fun fact, there's only one grocery store and my girlfriend got banned for swearing at a cashier. She had to get groceries in Queens and we broke up on the air tram. Those are just some facts about Roosevelt Island. Well, it's a shitty place to break up. You're kind of trapped on that thing for yeah, well stand over here this part of the tram and yeah, that's a tram. Sounds generous for skybus what looks like what I Also, I found out the leper colony was not on Roosevelt Island. It was on North Brother Island, which is right by Reicheth oh Recketh. Okay, all right, good enough, yeah, thank you. Pat Beer farmer Ben writes in it says, the other day I was at work driving some farm machinery for extended periods of time, and my mind begin to wanders Obviously, I get to ponder of the meaning of life, my own existence, the nature of control devices and gaming within the gaming world versus the real one. The hydraulic controls and farm equipment typically are set up in an inverted fashion. For example, in a giant combine used to harvest grain crops, the main interface is essentially a joystick. The controls the level of the header at the front of the combine. Forward on the joystick lowers the header towards the ground. Pulling back raises it. Likewise, an attractor with implements pulled behind like a plow. Pressing forward on the hydraulic control level lowers lowers the plow. This seemed perfectly acceptable, natural to me, as someone who also switches video game configurations to invert it without fail. Has anyone ever had any similar non game control experiences or issue. Obviously not much farming or other heavy machinery operating can be done running a modern videoing a website. But I was quite curious by the other control interfaces that have been experienced. Were a problem for you, inverted or not inverted? Guys? Hmmm? Anything? Uh? I have always wanted to operate a jetway m M so whenever you pass that control pad, there's always like a joystick, a bunch of awesome looking buttons. Yeah, they're all like light up and huge and different colors. Yeah yeah, I really like the trycasters control surface. I have just fun to use. Those controls are not inverted. It just looks awesome. You're right, it's it's a it's a coordinate plane. It's true, just like a the grabby arm in when you get Teddy BEARSFO catcher. Oh yeah, yeah, a UFO catcher, okay, because oftentimes it would look like a UFO at the top of the claw a claw game, claw game. Okay, yeah, uh, I know if any like for you, it was a lot of like camera control versus like moving a camera on a tripod. Yeah, you tilt down, and like also kind of how you think about your head when it tilts, Like when you have the arm the boom arn arm on the tripod you are pushing down to push the camera up. Yeah, and you know, pulling up to push it down. I see where you're coming from with that. But follow the analogy all the way. Wouldn't you also have to invert your horizontal pushing right to move the camera left? Yep, see is that not how where where it all breaks down? For me? That's where so Leaga suit Larry, I'd invert the axon because it was like ratchet and clank, it was backwards. It's like, what the fuck is wrong with you people? But like when you guys invert a stick or a mouse for a first person shooter, you're only inverting the vertical. You have to think of inverted axes for I mean, like, look, like I know we have fun around here. Okay, like we're looking pranksters of the Internet. We're video game Empire blah, yeah, a bunch of nutcases out here. We like to have fun about the inverted controls and the inverted why uhted inverted X is seriously like that is that's the That's the like Liverpool Manchester of fucking control option the fuck that shit. I don't know when it's I don't know what I use, but I know when it's wrong. Yes, So I'm not sure I can't even answer your question, brad of like which way I turned to look, but I know when it's wrong. The the Beyond Good and Evil HD thing that came out recently, Yeah, could have either X or Y inverted but not both or if it if you inverted one, it would invert they could Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, you don't want inverted When I inverted, why it also inverted X. That that's terrible, that's terrible. Inverted X is like seriously a fucking crime. Yeah. And I remember Ratchet and Clank be in that way, uh originally and just being like why who would fucking do that? And yeah, that leisure sit Larry game, I know that that one does that. Trying trying to think of other games that do inverted X and like by default, and you're like, what A lot of games don't even have the option. Exactly they shouldn't because who would do that? You would have to be fucking out of your mind to use that. That's oh, but also fucking inverted why? I mean in real life I understand it. And obviously, like if if you are flying a jet, they would have a joystick, they would pull a certain way. I want it to be like that in video games as well, to be realistic. But once it's removed from that, like limited case, no, it's weird. It's like I I will not invert it if it is kind of like you were saying, like a flat screen, if you ever, if I'm ever controlling a mouse cursor on a screen, yeah, like a light gun game or something something like that, that I can't have it inverted. But as soon as it's in three D space and it's a tilt that I that I as soon as it's like an up and down like moving your neck, that I have to. I don't have to have actually gotten used to doing it the other way as well. Yeah, come on over man, it's great over here. But it's just it's just you just get to pick up games and start playing them. Yeah, it's great. I can play games with my feet as well, but I don't want to another great experience. Don't do that. Uh, let's see. You know what the problem is what they call it inverted. They make it sound like the thing that is the opposite of what it should be. They should have they should have called the other one inverted. No, because the other one is normal, and that the one is inverted from normal. They lost it at the beginning. They lost it at the branding perverted. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they could have called it perverted. If you want to pervert this view, can uh. Barrett writes in I don't. I don't even know what emails are anymore. He says, Hi, this is Barrett from Boulder, Colorado, and I have to say Colorado. All I have to say is weed is legal. I was listing Brad's adventure to some weeds smoke out and had to comment, you can totally get vaporizing pens. They are the ship almost as cool as the site. And fuck Dave Lange. All right, thank you, Barrett. That's what was my adventure, your adventure. I was listing Brad's adventure to some weed smoke out. Oh okay, duh. Thanks clearing that up. Jay writes in I don't think this email is related, but one can never tell. Jay writes and says, hey, this is Jame alone from Knoxville, Tennessee. Arby's has consumed my life. Stay safe? Who like literally like he became the roast beef. I have no additional information at this time. I'm just I'm just spitballing here. I would give my life over to Arby's, my life for Arby's. Yeah, well maybe that's actually a realistic trade. They would eventually take it. They would eventually take it. Uh Tommy rights and it says I am from New York, specifically the Long Island area, home of such degenerates as myself and your co worker Vinny Caravella. Hello. Recently, Vinnie brought up the current state of his hometown and a few NYC neighborhoods without directly pointing out his hometown for safety reasons, which I'm pretty sure you've said before. But let's let's yeah, let's just go yeah, No, I'm protecting it. I'd like to point out how much of a ship hole it's become. The local burger joint has raised its prices again, and we have the most red lights in Long Island because the town is now filled with with wanna be Guido's what they're not want to bees? They are, yeah, who drive infinities at high speeds to red lights for no reason. That's funny. They used to be I roxs. I'm glad they've opted. In addition to the high school that both Vinnie and I attended now features thing such as metal detectors, security guard, and a no smoking monitor who shooes dirty students away from the area behind the gym where kids have huddled to smoke together for years. I remember the days when we'll be able to smoke outside the doors and cut class at any time with no penalties. This all check out to you is campus. Also, we could eat at the deli's and pizza places across the street. None of this is allowed now what It's a police state according to my according to my cousins who work there currently. Shit. Suffice to say, our town has become a pussified red light landmine. Damn. That also features a current youth base that dabbles in heroin secretly as a medic for the county's police department. I've learned this all first hand since being assigned to this suburban garbage dump of a hometown three years ago. Do not come back. You will have an aneurysm. Do not show Max this godforsaken place. Shit man. Ps. You guys have helped me pull through thirty six hour shifts and kept me focused to save an money from my wedding. This fault you guys the best. Don't stay in Long Island if you don't have to. Oh, the high school stuff is that's terrible. I wonder if that's like all high schools now, Yeah, I think my high schools it's still open. Like I'm actually pretty close to it, and I went and think, like metal detectors. No, it's like it's an outdoor campus pretty much with like kind of separate almost portable buildings and stuff in a lot of cases, so there's you wouldn't be able to put metal detectors there because you can just walk onto the campus so many different ways. Man. That's that's the pressing man, the speeding and the traffic lights whatever. It's yeah, that's kids be kids, right Grant in Glasgow, which is in Scotland. I think, uh says. With the release of Watchdogs next month and being of a limited income, I'm finally being forced to double down on my choice of next generation console. I realized working in video game journalism makes this is one of the most irritating and frequently ask questions for you. But personally, the choice seems far less black and white and the information a lot more circumstantial than it has in generations gone by. Resolution disparity, load times as well as sales figures seemed to point to the PS four as being the better investment, but this early into the generation, I'm hesitant to write off the Xbox One. Do you think the issues between the two consoles are down to Sony's production strategy of being developer friendly, causing Microsoft to play catch up, teething problems with Xbox one software subpark communication between Microsoft's tech department developers, or is there really such a hardware and design gap between the two companies? Trying to predict the outcome of any console war as a pointless endeavor, but which do you believe to be the better investment several years down the line? Ps please give a shout out to my former colleagues at Odeon Cinema. They are regular listeners and avid fans. Okay, hello, so what how are we feeling about the console fight these days? I mean put out of the picture? Right, Yeah, let's I mean, he says he's of a limited income, so he's looking to choose between these two consoles specifically play watchdogs which but also to you know, for an investment for years to come. That's that's where it's it's really tough because who knows. Yeah, I mean has a clue that's happened years from the PS four jumped out in a good early lead because it is a better platform right now, and like I would, I don't know, and I'm not I'm not trying to lead cheaper. Mean, yeah, it's cheaper, and I think if there's an install based on the PS four, I think people will lead on the P four for development. I feel like we're already seeing people leading on PS four for over development and a lot of PS four games in Yeah, and that's something that would be tough to change in terms of like a workflow for a studio. I feel like it's it's stuff that like, once it starts happening, it all starts to snowball. They spend more time on that version of the game, so that version is you know, perceived to be better and oftentimes actually is so far so even if Microsoft catches that. I mean, this is what we saw with the PS three last time, where all the early PS three ports of Xbox three sixty games, we're shit and it just snowball over time. To be fair, that was a really exotic thing with the PS three. At least the architectures are the same this time, but you're still working with different libraries exactly. I mean, yeah, they're they're the two platforms are a lot more similar than they were last time around, but you know, still still are still plenty plenty different. I think PlayStation Plus is pretty cool. I think that's a better offer right now than Xbox Live. I think with the free games and stuff like that, they've been keeping up with it, especially if you're you have a Vita as well, Like that stuff seems to pay dividends. Yeah, I think PS four is. It's kind of what I've been recommending to friends and family for like if you have to have one nail, yeah, like this one's cheaper and and like has like we're being like the ninety percent of the same games, like do you want to plays? Like yeah, exactly, Like do you care so much about a specific franchise that's only available on one platform or the other and that could sway you and the differences are minor enough that you might not care. I think the controller is really good. Yeah, but yeah, I think that's looking at it right now. PS four is. I think it's it's the console down the line. I do have confidence that both will be able to hone their dev cycles to squeeze out as much uh processing powers they can at the end of the age of you know, PS three, Like, yeah, last it seems like the s RAM situation on the Xbox one is still popping up as an issue here and there. So I mean there's there's just stuff that Microsoft needs to get better at telling developers how to work with or developers need to figure it out or whatever. So like that gap may be closed a little bit. We're gonna be in this, yeah, exactly like this, we're less than we're less than a year into something that's going to take six seven years to unfold. But you look at it right now and you kind of look at past history, you're like, oh, you know, PS four doing all right, doing it all right. But I still think the So that being said, I think PC is a really strong platform this generation. I think even stronger than the beginning of last generation for sure. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. It's one of the things where you know, it was not even a factor at the beginning of last year, Yeah at all. It was like it only Steam was like a year and change all the last at that time end of that general, last generation, PC was the way to go, and I think still is the way to go. If you have unlimited funds. Yeah, well helmited funds. I mean but he said, well, he says he has for this scenario. He says, I mean, you don't even need unlimited. You just need a fairly bigger initial outlay. Yeah, like you need you know, you don't need to spend three grand on a good computer, but you do need to spend significantly more than four hundred dollars, right, And you'll probably spend four hundred dollars and four years again for another video card maybe yeah, well maybe maybe. But you know the other the flip side of the PC is you're not paying fifty bucks a year for online You're getting a lot cheaper games. I mean, amazing Spider Man two is forty dollars on the PC. Yeah, like the Hobbit's only thirty. Yeah, So I mean all these hot games add hot deals and what whatever, like well, no, I mean, I mean everything's on sale all the time. Well that's what I mean, except the Castle doctrines, the seasonal rights. It's mainly the seasonal sales, and also, like if you're really willing to hunt for like day one deals on you know, yeah, buying codes from other places besides the valve, you can do that. You can get stuff. I would say, the Steam download always seems faster than either PlayStation fours or Xbox ones. Network stuff like they just always matches out. It just seems fast my cable. Yeah, I don't know. Well, we'll find out a lot more. I think I E three to see what the lineups are. Yeah, yeah, I think that's that's when you're you know, you'll start to see like what the difference really is. You know. It's like you see Microsoft announcing all their like entertainment, like their TV like this documentary and other stuff like I just look at that, you know, like that's you should spend that money on games, Like I know you have a lot of it, So maybe it doesn't really work that way, and you know you're hoping to bring people in a different way. I guess that makes sense, But fuck that. Do you use that TV stuff anymore? On Xbox One? I still have my TV stuff running through it because at this point I'm was too lazy to disconnected. But I mean, I'm pick up my remote from my direct TV box the second that it turns on, it's not it's yeah, and turning everything on with my Xbox one is still a hassle because it, uh, it turns on things in the wrong order, so the audio doesn't work. So it's like I have to turn everything on by voice and then go over and turn the receiver off and back on connect. Uh yeah, that Connect Sports Rivals digitize Me thing was interesting. That's that's a word you could use. Yeah, interesting. Uh yeah. I think Sony's made grand strides this time to prevent the horrible situation they were in with the PS three, and it's been paying off form pretty well. Yeah, that thing's not perfect, but it's gone far enough. Oh yeah, compared to what Microsoft does, Like, I feel like at this point, like, you know, that's what I'm spending more time on. At this point. I look at it and think, like, you know, like Microsoft's is just about in a position where they have to like actually react. Almost any three could be a situation where they're like like, okay, we're taking the connect out of the box because you guys fucking hate it anyways, a gamer addition or you know whatever, or shit excuse they want to gin up to get the price in line, or just bite the bullet and say fucking we'll cut the price. It was. It was weird going for trials on the PS four and then having to care about my PSN friends list, like for real, finally, like finally, yeah, like I mean, like I tried. I kind of half heartedly tried to fill it out more when I got the PS four, But at that point I was like, all right, I need people that I know on this list. I really wish you could elect to opt in to have it send your real name immediately immediately. Yeah, because there are people on my friends list that I've gotten request from. I just don't know who they are. I just wish it would just like say like, yeah, this person. It's been weird going through like friends of friends lists. I'll just say like, oh, we have a lot of mutual friends. I'm sure I'll find other people I know on their list, and like realizing I know a whole lot of people by the handle they use in a really weird way, you know. Yeah, it's like, oh, there's Delicious Bees. I'll add him, right. I don't even think, but like consciously like, oh I know who that guy is. Don't add delicious be well delate uh. Jazz right. Sandah took this email because again, you know, it's related to video games in its own weird way. Jazz right. Since I would like to apologize on behalf of the population of Bexhill on c for the obtuse and inflammatory nature of Matt the Banker's email from last week. In the UK, bankers are currently viewed only slightly more favorably than child murderers and people that drink their own urine for health reasons, and rightly, so fuck that guy. I now work for PlayStation in London and consider my escape from the turgid cultural and intellectual wasteland that is bex Hill the sort of epic triumph that goes down in song or gets made into a Kurt Russell movie. So fuck all the London haters. To fuck them. Ps. If you think bexellon c sounds stereotypically English, check out these genuine place names from around the UK. Ready for these, I'm ready yep. Lower dicker, upper dicker, Pratt's bottom, sandy balls, crapstone balls, cross Shitterton, there's let's just making stuff up man Cox. Okay, I believe that one, not with the next. Okay, upper Cox, yeah, lower cox yeah, lower lower shaft, crap stone, crapstone. I mean I'm not going to vet that to actually check and see if those places are real. We're just gonna take that a face value and move on about that. Send me a postcard from Crapstone. Yeah, uh, here's an anonymous email. Given that everything about E three has posted online, anyway, couldn't you do your coverage without having to go there? That's funny we just talked about it. Seems the experience consists of yet another flight, then sitting through some hype presentations of buzzwords and vague information, then trailers that don't tell all that much about the game. Then Reggie yells at you for sitting on your backside than hours of waiting in lines. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's E three is something you actually want to go too, well, I think like you. Yes, yes, The hands on stuff is just a matter of how you spend your time there. And we don't really wait in lines. We make appointments and go around and see stuff. It's not yeah you know. Oh yeah, there's a lot of stuff you can only see by getting in some back room. Yeah, or you can only see more of I mean, the bulk of E three is appointment only. Like if you went there just like somehow got a pass and walked around like you could play some games. But yeah, it'd be a fucking hassle. You wouldn't see half the stuff. And I mean that's how I started out going to E three and it was fine. The three has changed well, also has greatly changed. I feel like there used to be that everything was out on the floor and there were tons of kiosks for everything. Three was the only thing you needed was to get in the room for I played GTA three in a like out on the floor the first time. They showed it right next to State of Emergency. Yeah, huh man, that that was the thing, because State of Emergency showed way better and they were right next to each other, and you're like, GCA, it looks a little rough, but State of Emergency crazy. Somebody told me some story about they also, I mean they also showed it off in a back room and something like that. But at one point it was out. The mandid for for us for a game spot when I started here was to go take that camera and like, your first day was just go film off screens on the floor all day. And then that footage got turned into gameplay footage. Yeah, did you have any accountability, Like here's your game list, just go around film and stuff. But it was both. Yeah, it was booths, it was hit lists of big games and then somebody would like you get back to the booth and they're showing a trailer on the screen at this jumbo tron like right over there. Make sure you get the whole thing, and then like run back and try and snip that thing out and pin the corners so it didn't look like it was filmed off screen. Yeah, I think I still considered it. You know, I think it's a privilege to go to E three and see that stuff and get hands on. Yeah, and I think that's very cool. I think more and more now though some of that show, I do, you know, I don't see everything because we're running around with cameras, we have different appointments. I think I could ingest more if I were just home watching trails in the case. Yeah, I mean I never get a lot of hands on an E three anyway. It's like, you know, I get a little bit of hands on cameras camera only once every couple of days. Maybe you get hands on the sandwich, hopefully not after and that definitely don't touch a controller in the sandwich. But I think for me that we got an appointment. For me, the part of E three that's still very special is just talking to the developers and people like, that's the part that is without here in this industry. Packs is close though, Yeah, PAX is a little better just to talk to the people who are playing the games like everybody else. Yeah, no, I love going to E three. Like, Logistically it's a fucking hassle. There are parts of it that are exhausting, but that's whatever. It's comes the territory. Fuck it is what you make of it. Yeah, Like you can make a dungeon of your own design. Yeah, Like that's the thing I feel like people like you know, there are plenty of things to complain about, but at the end of the day, like if if you are in this line of work and then are looking at E three and just like one of you is like, man, fuck that shit, Like you should probably not do this anymore. Gotta love it, Yeah, Brendan writes and says, recently, the news has been making much to do of a potential conflict between major Asian powers, particularly the Chinese and Japanese. Japan has responded by building their military and attempting to change of the direction of their economy. If a crisis does break out, forcing Japan to arms. Do you think this could halt or alter production by Japanese games companies such as Nintendo, perhaps even permanently Nintendo. That's that's a weird question. Yeah, I mean it's it's I mean yeah right, yeah, yes, I mean someone could blow up Nintendo. That would that would that would cause problems, like they dropped bombs. That would be bad. I don't think they're gonna to the draft in Japan or anytime soon. And like I got the workforce, like they would conscript Nintendo into making munitions, right, yeah, now we're probably they're probably not up to that point. I mean that's yeah. I think major, a major armed conflict would definitely disrupt production of a lot of the cultural things she manufactured. Zero. Yeah, I would be a downer, but probably wouldn't be the first thing to cross my mind of a major armed conflict broke out over there, right, no fucking smash Brothers, God damn it. Yeah, I bought this console. You have to go play that best buy demo. I guess, sign me up. And this thing. That's right, and I'm entering the war. It's got to make sure that I'm joining the foreign legion to go fight this war and and make sure the Smash Brothers is eventually released. Stand up, hold up a copy of Yoshi's Island and say you see what you're doing, See what you're doing. Maybe blow it up, Maybe blow it all. If Yoshi's Island is the thing we're looking at it, Yeah, Ken writes in and says I work with companies in the commercial space industry, and I just want to say, fuck Russia. We don't need their vodka fueled death trap rockets anymore, and we definitely don't need their smug, fucking comments about fuzzy Russian engineering saving the day. We're taking back the space station in twenty sixteen with a new strike Fighter shuttle called Dream Chaser. Motherfucker's but I'm going to personally peel their cold dead fingers off the robotic arm controls and then rip the duct. Is a new asshole, thanks Ken Man. That is a next level beef. It's looking up the dream Chaser right now. Yea, space Fights. I sat next to a NASA engineer that worked on modules for thiss on a flight one time. That was a great flight. I have a related email. All right, let's hear it. This is Rick again from Manchester, following my previous email Brad mentioned the different railguns that are currently being tested for the deployment on US warships, and Vinny jokingly suggested that he'd like to be used. It's one of the projectiles. As it happens, Vinnie's suggestion was not that far from reality, albeit in a slightly savor. Matt Manner emails or Electronic Aircraft Launch System is currently is a system currently being developed by the US Navy that uses electromagnetic force similar to the rail guns being developed by BAE Systems and General Atomics, who launch aircraft off the deck of an aircraft carrier like the catapults exactly. Yeah. Depending on the final cost and complexity of the system, there may be scope to use it in civilian contexts, such as launching vessels or payloads into low Earth orbit and even possibly launching civilian aircraft from shorter runways or Vinnie. So, Vinnie's wish could actually come true one day. That's awesome. I have breaking news of my own all right, let's hear it if my cursory Google search is to be believed, and it is our own justin Calvert hailes from an area very near Crapstone. Yeah, I think he's from Devon. Yes, Crapstone is a village in the County of Devon. That was maybe that He's just like never wanted to say Crapstone. So just like Devin kind of thing in New York Times. I got sent to text Mush, I feel like I've heard of Crapstone before. Also Capstone they put out the Wayne's World game. Okay, I feel like Crapstone just sounds like a place from Fable or something. Yeah, I mean that's yeah, sure, Fables real, go to craps. The struggle is real? Bowery. Where was i? Francis and Connecticut rights in to say? I recently made my year yearly pilgrimage to San Francisco. I was staying with one of my friends who was too poor to move outside the mission, so I ended up eating a lot of burritos. Is the mission cheap to live in? I thought? The mission mission, Well, I mean it's it's got its stabby your parts transition. Well, it's getting heavily gentrified. If you're in the mission, you can't move anywhere. It is expensive to move, right, Yeah, so the cheapest option is to stay puss and hope your rent controlled Yep, Yeah, I was wondering what your guys opinions are on which tak area is best in the miss San Francisco. Yeah, probably in the mission. In the mission, I'm a CaCO man. There's caccoon Patricks, but El far Alito, El far Alitos the spot one of those. There's one of those up near me. Uh is also awesome. Sure it's the same people. It's called El Favarrito, but yeah, they are calendars that we get from We got from them, had both locations listed. Good. I only had. I've only had nachos from far Alito one time on Andy Deemer's front doorstep because when he's having that yard sale, I was drinking forty takati yep with Ryan nachos. Yeah, the nachos, I mean, the nachos from those are far Alito are fucking That's what I can't actually get that instead of a burrito. Those motherfuckers are serious. Those are legit. There's one of those in Murder Park up near me and say murder Yeah, okay, uh and it is. Uh. It's fucking just crazy. The just especially you go late and they're just like, I don't know, here's like nine fucking pounds of meat on top of some chips and beans. Here you go. Those are serious. I used to live right near that place when I was living in Katati, and yeah, we would, we would drive up there to that place. I'm I'm with supernachos, I'm with Patrick and burritos. I go to Cancun for that only I haven't really in the mission. I haven't been to Cancoon very long time. Only in the mission, though, the one on Sixth Street is has gotten to be garbage. That's right. I guess they went to like it was last g DC. When we were at that that bar fifth Shady Katie vanished for like twenty minutes and came back with like ten burritos. Yeah, yeah, that was Wait, there's one six because the kitchen had just yeah sixth and sixth market, make no kids. In fact, actually it's on market right at six. Yeah. Uh, it's gotten worse since then. Somehow those burrios were of course scraned. We're very drunk. I was not that was I was not sure those are good burritos. And then I think the best the best case of is it a lattak area in the mission. I think it's burrito truck up the street from US is pretty okay's pretty good. It gets the job for close burritos, good tacos. Does the mission burritos just have to be big? Is that thing? I guess. I think that's probably the most important aspect. I think, you know, what goes in it is kind of everything kind of clearly different. Mean, the stuff that I get on a burrito is so stripped down anyway that like I can kind of get a burrito from from anywhere. That's what the mission is good at, though. Yeah, is just the nuts and bolts, real basic stuff. It's like, yo, this is about rito. Well, there's a lot of fancy stuff popping up in the mission. I know that's why it's Yeah, but can coon they're just legit, you know. It's like here you go, yeah and it'll be good. There's some good spots up where I'm at. You They're they're solid, little with their fucking burrito worked. Man, if you want to get to the suburbs and still live, yeah, living in a neighborhood with Mexican food's really bumming me out. But you got plenty of Korean food and it's true pretty good Chinese and best Italian restaurant in the city. Yeah, it's true, there's that weird I left that there for him. Nick writes in from underwater and says, hey, bomb cast, I'm Nick and work on a submarine. WHOA emailing from the submarine? Hence the craziest email address this is coming from. Also, the system we used to type these is void of a spell check. So whatever is it? Dot sub It was dot mill. It was like Navy dot mill. Awesome. Yes, it was dot water. I've talked to Drew before this. Yeah, this, this email seems Yeah, this seems like real, like hastily punched out on a on a system. I've talked to Drew before via email. I've been stopped. Yeah, I've been listening to old episodes of the Bombs because this is the most we can do with the Internet while we're underway. If you guys have questions, I can answer them. Although I am a cook, so I don't know what I really know. That's the best questions everything. The Navy cook is a raw motherfucker. So if I could have a shout out, that be cool. Hello, Nick, there you go. I've been out for a while and have a large bit to go. Before I can listen to the show and he responsibly be amazing. Give me something to look forward to when I pull back in and make through months and months and months and months of shows. Love the show, even if I can only listen to old shit. So that's funny, that's yeah. I want to know what he's out there underwater right now. I want to know what he's cooking up. What do you serve? What's day one? What's Tuesday? I've heard food on submarines is pretty good. What do you do with your waist? Where does it go out there? You launched torpedo tube number two, it's froll et, cartridges and bad food. Wait, where does the garbage go? Where does it go? Torpedo tube number one? We're gonna blow ballast at number two and number one? Gray Lady down? Okay, got it? Yeah? Anonymous rights in to say please don't say my name on the BombCast if you read this. Although I never signed an NDA, I work for post production for the company that makes Amish Mafia. Okay. Wait, and if I think I decide to stay here, I'm going to be working on its third season. From my understanding, the vast majority of the show is fake and staged. Apparently, there are scenes in the show in which crew members are acting, sometimes even playing more than one person in the same scene. There's a good chance if a crew if a face is blurred, it's a crew member or actor. I'm working on another show for them right now. I'm not going to name it for if you're avouting myself and it's totally fake. However, people in both the production company and the network are watching cuts and complimenting how real and raw it is. I can't tell if these people are in denial, are lying to themselves to cope with the sacrifice of their creative souls, or if they genuinely believe this nonsense to be real. I'm pretty sure it's the former. Reality television is a grueling and soul this juggernaut. Can we as a people stop making get a profitable business? You guys are the best. Thanks for everything. PS Are you guys looking to hire anyone with three years of production post production experience? You know, I honestly think like fucking production post production on a reality show? Yeah, like it's You've probably a pretty good crash course dumb fucking shit that you know that we end up doing. Keep an eye out for any job listings on the site. Yeah, that's fantastic. Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, I think I think reality television has just gone so far but its own ass. It's just it's Yeah, I've gone from hating everything about it to just like I remember watching the original Real World and being like, this is fucking garbage. I'm still watching it, but it's garbage, and I didn't I didn't watch any of it after that. Really, I was just like, fuck all that shit. It's not as good as the original Real World. Eric from The Grinds not on it. But now it's it's so like inverted and on its head. And like I watched Cheaters for a while because that's real real television. That was part of their pitch. Really all reality television. Yeah, that's stuff that's fascinating. And also Joey Greco was like the Devil personified, like is literally Satan walking around trying to catch people cheating. Guess my opinion deserves it. All Right, that's harsh, but that's you know, with Joey Greco being a fucking demon, it's not going to affect him any pretty wish dart souls. Yeah, that's pretty much. Yeah, exactly what did he do everything? It's just a fucking monster, Okay, Hunter from Greensboro, North Carolina, right, Sam says I was flipping through the latest issue of Wired and landed on an interview retrospective with Mystery Science Theater three thousands Joel Hodgson, Mike Nelson and the crew and impact the show it had on satirical comedy. That got me thinking, Yeah, it's kind of like there they are brought it back, or bring it back for a couple of episodes on the National Geographic Channel, like they're coming to lasts of real TV, but they're gonna be watching animal specials and talking over so it's like kind of a one off thing. It waited Joel and Mike. I don't think it's Joel an Mike, but there was that that was gonna happen ear. I guess that's that might just be cinematic Titanic or riff tracks or one of the weird splinter groups that have happened in the wake of that, but there's been a lot of stories about m ST three k kind of happening recently. This got me thinking about the quick look format popularized by Giant Bomb Obviously MST three K was a scripted affair, but it came off as an honest approach to looking at trashy B movies. The quicklo features multiple people riffing either positively or negatively at a video game while openly discussing their unscripted reactions to that section of gameplay. Uh. Did MST three K have an impact on any of the crew growing up? If so, it was a conscious idea to emulate that set up for quick Looks, which would then evolve into the more comedic, unprofessional Friday segments. No, No, Well as far as an influence, like, I think we uh, I think we definitely acknowledge that, like we're doing Mysteryceiter, mystery theater sciences. It was very big in my life sound MS MS three K, Yeah, MS three K, it's the new MS old MS whatever. They cured that. I think we definitely talked like, hey, you know, this is what we're doing. Uh, not on that I've explained it to people. Is that? But like for me, I used to watch that show. It was funny. I never watched it regularly. I watched it a lot. I watched like bits and pieces. Uh, Like I don't know the names of the guys or I know the one world about that looks like the roundhead and the beak. Yeah. Yeah, but I think when we did the quick look, it was just like we can't edit. Yeah, we don't have the people putting picture and picture and picture is too much processing. And they exhaustively watched those movies over and over again to like hone the material. I mean when they first started doing it, uh, they were doing it unscripted. Uh and and it was not very good. So they learned that about themselves very quickly and fix the problem. But yeah, I kind of obsessively watched that show for three or four years, like kind of in high school, getting out of high school. And then when Joel left, I was like fuck this for a good long time. So I thought it was so it was more than just there were two humans on it. Joel left and was replaced by Mike. But then also there were the mad scientists back on Earth that they would you know that they were ostensibly running the experiments sending the movies up to space. I think the two robots were the same people. Yes, though the voice has changed over time. Oh did that? Yeah? Yeah, the yeah, the voices of the robots changed as people kind of left the show and and all that sort of stuff. For my money, I think it's like season two and three and basically whatever season they were watching, all the Sandy Frank stuff was was where it was at. For me, how did they mix the movie audio they'd ride it up and down or did they just kind of keep it out of steady. I think they would kind of keep it steady, okay. I think they maybe eventually would ride it up and down a little bit, okay, depending on you know, if they needed to duck something to hear a joke, they would probably do it, or to hear diogue a bit, turn it up, okay, Yeah, speaking of robotic co hosts, kind of boem See this Craig ferguson the news he's leaving. Yeah, end of the year for Letterman. Even hey, it was in response to Letterman. I mean, he didn't come out and say it. But it's produced that show is produced by Letterman's company, So I don't know if that hasn't anything to do with it. I thought I thought you didn't. He's just like, maybe he's just affronted by not getting the seat. Look, yeah, I thought we gotta be pay out, apparently by not getting picked for it. I don't know if you saw that. He no, no, it is supposedly got somewhere between eight and twelve million for not getting the oh weird not being the successor letter fucking crazy thing. But I don't know. I just thought, I always every time I've seen his show, I think he's like the best thing on late night. Why did you call him robotic co host? Man? What that's what you said? It's speaking of robotic co host. He's the host. Have you seen it? It's Craig Ferguson. His co host is a robotic skeleton. Oh no, okay, even better segment of that show. It's very good, it's very deep. You know where I heard that news In the forty five minutes that Drew and I spent doing sync test for our audio. Drew was reading off an r S feed or a Twitter feed, and that came up as we were doing it. That's alright, got all my news recording Drew to look for lip slip. Lay, okay, good lip slip. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm pretty excited. I mean, you know, like I missed out on the Letterman job of the Letterman gig, and I'm pretty fucking bummed out about it, So, yeah, you know it'll be good. Are you leaving CBS as well in retaliation? I mean, if I don't get the Ferguson job done, anything's possible, Anything possible, NBC man, Yeah, that's We've got a great demographic. They're looking to start a video game website. I think I saw they were looking at Chelsea Handlers. So sorry to burst her bubble. Yeah, I guess she did announce that she was leaving her show too already. It's weird. I got the production gig, so I'll be taking over that Letterman production stuff. Yeah, it's gonna be weird. They're a little They have like more than one camera, so what does that would what they do with it? Are you thinking shows the other camera? I think they just wanted to back camera the camera like a backup thing. Think so, I don't know, And like their control room has like two more than two people. I don't know. There'll be a lot of changes happening, huh. And then we're gonna do it at like four in the afternoon, weird. Yeah, four o'clock, it'll say it's the evening. The three thirty four on Friday. Seems like a good spot to me. Sure, yeah, yeah, it's always always been happy with that time. Yeah, two hours, it'll be great. Yeah, all right, So start those letter riting campaigns to get us into those ridiculous CBS jobs. It'll be it's happening and uh yeah, and we'll we'll get on television and still do you know who's doing it? It's Colbert. Yeah, Colbert took the letterman job, which I wonder at that point if he just goes back to Colbert, is that what he used to use? That is? Yeah, that is how his name is pronounced. It is. The character is Stephen Colbert. I think he might really, I think he might be more than that. I don't know. I think I when I remember reading about his family, half of them were okay. Maybe maybe it is more than that. But I mean, obviously he would not play the character on that show he was taking over the Colbert Report. That was not even a question like that's the way that would fly on. I mean, I bet they're bummed that. What's his face? Like? Yeah, because John Oliver is great? You really finded John Oliver did the Colbert Report. Yes, he just came back it was just because that's the thing, like his HBO show is starting soon starting, No, no, okay, I think it's starting. It's not this week, it's next or real soon and maybe maybe maybe this weekend was the first one. I don't remember that show, right, Yeah, yeah, I because the little British guys just fighting and killing each other and fucking and whatever it is, and everything's shaking up. Yeah, I don't know what to watch. The only thing that's a constants John Stewarts my rock, Yeah, John Stewart and South Park. John Stewart went around enough like he fucking made the rounds already and fucking did a bunch of bullshit and knows better. He's like, no, I'm I'm here. But even he took that like whole summer to go film a movie. Everybody's just getting tired. Yeah, do what you gotta do. Yeah, that's the thing, you know. I don't know, And yes, people gotta do what they gotta do. Yeah, that's at the end of the day. I don't know anything about late night TV anymore. Who knows who's the who's the tonight show? Fallon? Okay, Jimmy Fallon? Who did Fallon show? Seth Meyers it's true, okay, and then Colbert will have a Letterman slot yep. And then they don't have some first shot the Ferguson slots open okay, So those let's take that and put a video game show in there? Are those the four big ones? Sure? I mean still coning on TBS somewhere like when Braves games aren't happening, it's Conan, and and then everybody else is just a daytime talk And then Jimmy Kimmel is on ABC. They don't have a follow up like a Late Lady. I don't think they do, and they turn it over to news like kim Yeah, Kimmel got kind of big. It's never he's never been my thing. Yeah, just so late yea, and so many celebrity interviews like that was my thing. Like like when all the Tonight Show stuff started happening around Conan, I kind of got back into it and got really invested in a lot of that stuff and then realized that, like I just want to watch the comedy bits like the monologue and then and the whatever, like after the first interview there, They'll always be another bit somewhere around there. Like I was just watching those parts of Conan and then not watching any of the celebrity interviews and it's just like who cares. That's kind of like you got a movie coming out like that's it's it's like why the Colbert move actually kind of bums me out because he's gonna have to do that stuff for real zies. Yeah, Like I think it's way more like he's what he's doing is so much more interesting and has so many more possibilities. But whatever the format is, like, obviously he needs a huge shake up. Yeah, no one else is doing it, so you know, maybe someone can step in there and it'll be super interesting to see him doing without his character, like to just be like, who is saying Colbert at that point the talker. And then it's like I have nothing to talk to you about you're an actor from pitching your show and let's talk about It's basically what I think, like our interviews turned into just talk about food or something else. I'm not gonna talk about your new release, your movie, your book, your fucking book on Abe Lincoln. I don't care, like we're just gonna talk about some other random thing.
