285. The Boys of Summer

The Grade Cricketer

Australia win the Border-Gavaskar in Sydney thanks to a man named Barrel and a thing called Slug. It’s the perfect end to a summer of chaos, calmness, controversy, Konstas and karma. The numbers falling in front of our eyes are as mysterious and wonderful as figuring out what day it might be. We discuss India’s behaviour on and off the field, the lack of repercussions or leadership shown by anyone and what the future might look like for an Indian generation that failed to deliver as much as what it once promised.

There’s also a complete sweep of the BBL, the Bancroft/Sams head clash, Dan Christian going from assistant coach to into the playing squad, the Test players returning (haha.. ok), the Stars winning 2 gams in a row and Hilton Cartwright hitting a 121m six.

The women’s Ashes starts on Sunday, so Higgos ponders if it is indeed the most fulfilling dessert to a summer that has given us a main course to die for.
