Now Here's Matt Jones. 00:01:08 Speaker 5: Welcome back, have number two Kentucky Sports Radio A fe' nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. 00:01:13 Speaker 4: Here at the KS Bar and Grill. You can give us a shout. 00:01:16 Speaker 5: We've got a couple op the lines af' nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, So please if you want to get in and join us. 00:01:22 Speaker 4: Let's talk about a couple other things the weekend. 00:01:24 Speaker 5: I think the big story of the weekend was probably Jake Paul Mike Tyson. If you saw it, A lot of you are still buffering trying to get the stream to work. They claim sixty million people were watching it. That feels high to me, but I would say a lot of people were watching it. I think everybody wanted to see it. We ended up having a great crowd here at the bar because ours worked. We we got it from the satellite instead of the streaming, so it actually so it actually worked, uh for the for the fight, it was it was a circus, which shouldn't be surprising. You had Rosie Perez, you had Cedric the entertainer looking like he was going to sell you something from uh you know, it was some sort of scammer. 00:02:09 Speaker 4: It looks like a genie. 00:02:10 Speaker 5: He did look a little bit like a genie. You had Mike Tyson's butt cheeks just make an appearance, which I don't know that people thought would happen. I found the fight drew actually kind of sad. For thirty seconds, it was cool like Mike Tyson came out. For thirty seconds he looked like Mike Tyson, right moving his feet, and then it was clear he was really tired. And uh, I just the last three or four rounds, I actually was kind of uncomfortable. 00:02:35 Speaker 4: I didn't really enjoy it. I was like, just don't hurt him. And uh. 00:02:40 Speaker 5: But as I said, I didn't think there was any chance that Jake Paul wouldn't win, and then he did. You weren't allowed to bet on it in Kentucky. We were one of six states whose commissions did not allow them to take bets on it. 00:02:53 Speaker 4: So everywhere else. 00:02:54 Speaker 5: You could, but Kentucky you couldn't, or else I would have broken the bank on Jake Paul. 00:02:59 Speaker 4: But what do you think about the whole spectacle? 00:03:02 Speaker 6: It shows our local commission knows a stage fight when it sees one that went exactly like I thought it would. Outside of the buffering that added some drama, but there was never a world where that was gonna be a real fight. I mean they weren't even punching for the last four rounds. That was a money grab, but it was still entertaining with its moments. 00:03:21 Speaker 4: Like I thought we might see one but cheek didn't expect to see both buttcheks. 00:03:25 Speaker 6: Really the fight before it made the whole night work with the women fighting, but the Paul Tyson thing, I never had faith in that, and it proved to be exactly what this. 00:03:35 Speaker 4: I don't know. 00:03:35 Speaker 5: This may be controversial, but I appreciate that women box, and I think they should. I think they should go do your thing, girl, But I don't like watching women box. 00:03:47 Speaker 4: It's the same thing. 00:03:47 Speaker 5: I don't want to see people get hurt, and even though I know they don't need me to protect them, like I mean, I know they're fine, I just don't enjoy it. And if I don't know what it is about that, I just don't, you know. 00:03:58 Speaker 4: So I was awesome quit buffering. That was where I was getting back. 00:04:01 Speaker 5: I don't like let me be clear, I don't like fighting, period. I don't like UFC. I don't really like boxing. So it's not just the women part. It's just I don't I feel like, I just don't want to see people get hurt. And I feel like when somebody gets like a big punch of the head, I like to see their future. 00:04:20 Speaker 4: Was hanging off. I just it's just not just I don't like. 00:04:23 Speaker 2: You say, you don't like fighting, but you own a wrestling company. That's interesting, that's true, but that's that's different. 00:04:28 Speaker 5: Wrestling's different, Wrestling's better, you know, But like, I just don't want to see people get hurt. 00:04:33 Speaker 4: But I believe that as it may, the it was a spectacle. 00:04:38 Speaker 5: It also goes to show how much America Brian yearns for collective moments, like I think in that we've gotten so separated in this country, you know, because of all of our options on things to watch, because of our various interests, because politics, Like there are very few things where people come together and they all watch an event at the same moment. I mean, think about what are those events? The super Bowl is certainly one, huh, but what else, Like are there things that everyone watches. 00:05:10 Speaker 4: The Olympics felt like that. 00:05:12 Speaker 5: This year, Yes, you know, for the first time in a long time, the Olympics felt like that this was one of those kind of things. 00:05:20 Speaker 4: It did feel like everybody had it on. 00:05:23 Speaker 3: I'm one of those people, Like a lot of people hadn't watched boxing in over twenty years. I made sure I wanted to watch every second of it, just because of the spectacle of Mike Tyson. 00:05:33 Speaker 5: But do you think some of it is we do enjoy this kind of collective moment. 00:05:38 Speaker 3: You're trying to think about the O J. Simpson Bronco Jay. 00:05:40 Speaker 5: I mean that was thirty years ago. I'm saying now, not now, are are there? 00:05:44 Speaker 4: Oh? 00:05:44 Speaker 3: I know one like when there's a royal wedding, but there was one not that long ago. 00:05:50 Speaker 4: I didn't want Like did you watch Queen Elizabeth's funeral? 00:05:52 Speaker 3: I don't, but a hundred million zion people, yeah, that. 00:05:56 Speaker 4: The Royal wedding was tenue, Like that was a long time go. 00:06:00 Speaker 6: Like it's getting harder to do these things. There's so many options and so many events you can now watch like it used to be if something was on TV, like the what was the Friends finale? Like the whole World Watch Now there's so many options. 00:06:11 Speaker 5: I remember, like those final like the first couple seasons of American Idol, like when it was Ruben versus Clay and the first finale of Survivor. I feel like everyone watched, but I don't feel like you get those things very often. And Shane and I kind of felt like Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, maybe not for people like my mom, but like for for our age. 00:06:34 Speaker 4: Wasn't that kind of one of those things? It was? 00:06:36 Speaker 2: And who thought Jake Paul and Mike Tyson brings the world together? 00:06:40 Speaker 4: It's just weird because it was. It was. 00:06:42 Speaker 5: It's a circus. But I do think that I will tell you every part. 00:06:46 Speaker 4: Did you all watch it? 00:06:49 Speaker 5: Well, it's a yes or no question, Like it seems like a lot did you you watch Buffery? Did you try to watch it? Okay, so look for people here to watch it. This gentleman's a little older. You didn't want to watch it, but but I think a lot of people were trying to watch. 00:07:06 Speaker 3: So now it'll be a rematch. 00:07:08 Speaker 5: I wouldn't watch a rematch. I just I feel like I know I've seen it. 00:07:13 Speaker 2: What's the point of it? I mean Tyson didn't even throw any punches. 00:07:17 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, Tyson's just gonna. 00:07:18 Speaker 2: Stand there and got twenty million dollars. 00:07:21 Speaker 3: One rowdy threw what seven punches in a whole round. 00:07:24 Speaker 5: I mean, I just Shannon, I wouldn't watch another one, would you know? 00:07:28 Speaker 2: Not at this point. I mean clearly he was just there to stand there for sixteen minutes, collect twenty million dollars and walk out and you know, put Jake Paul over as a good fighter. That was the plan I think from the very beginning. 00:07:39 Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think it was staged, meaning I think that's what would happen when you have a fifty eight year old man fight like. 00:07:46 Speaker 4: It didn't need to be staged. 00:07:47 Speaker 5: That's the exact result that would occur if you did something like that. The only difference is if it was Maybe it was staged in the sense that if it was real, he would have knocked him out. 00:07:56 Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought it was staged. 00:07:58 Speaker 6: Going back to the slap to sell, it was just like, hey, I'm not knocking you. 00:08:02 Speaker 5: Out, but do you think okay with that? You agree with me the knock out, but Mike Tyson couldn't have won. 00:08:07 Speaker 6: No, it was like, hey, I'm gonna pay you twenty million dollars. I'm gonna beat Mike Tyson by decision. If it goes well, we'll have a second one. Mike Tyson went bankrupt two months before this was announced. It was pretty clear what we were about to get. That's why I think we'll get a part two. I think we showed how gullible we are as a nation to tune into that, and we'll do it all. I won't watch part two. I'm going on record. If they're wondering, I'm out on part two. I I enjoyed part one. 00:08:31 Speaker 4: Now. 00:08:31 Speaker 5: It led to a conversation that I want to bring up here. Okay, so somebody brought this up Saturday night, and this is a question for the four of you. I want you to think of what's the youngest. 00:08:43 Speaker 4: Age but old? Okay, so think of older people. 00:08:47 Speaker 5: What's the youngest age that you think you could beat in a boxing match? Anyone that age? So like clearly like I still would take Mike Tyson over all of us. Oh yes, okay, do you think you could beat in a boxing match someone that is seventy Do you think you could beat the like best seventy year old fight? 00:09:12 Speaker 6: I want to say yes, but there could be one out there walking around. 00:09:15 Speaker 5: Robert Kennedy Junior, have you I don't know. I don't like him. But he's ripped. Do you think you could beat him in a fight? 00:09:24 Speaker 2: You gotta think about all the seventy year olds. 00:09:27 Speaker 5: Yeah, it's all about the endurance. Ric Flair, do you think you could beat up Ric Flair in a fight? 00:09:34 Speaker 2: Probably? 00:09:34 Speaker 4: Now? Yeah, I probably can take Rick Flair. Do you think you could take Ric Flair? Now? 00:09:37 Speaker 6: People are old. Mike Tyer could barely walk three rounds into that. You just gotta dance around. 00:09:41 Speaker 4: A little bit. 00:09:42 Speaker 5: So you think tomorrow I put you in a boxing match with Rick Flair you could beat That's fine, that's fine, But I'm asking you. I mean, you all act like we box. Not one of us has ever boxed. 00:09:54 Speaker 2: It would only take one punch. 00:09:56 Speaker 4: Ye, one punch away knocking these people from. 00:10:01 Speaker 2: Rick Flair right now in his condition, Yes, the guy who's barely. 00:10:05 Speaker 4: Alive, kick him in the knee. 00:10:07 Speaker 5: I will say to you, I think there're seventy year olds that could whip all four of us. 00:10:13 Speaker 6: Oh, there's probably something that exists. But seventy I think I could beat someone up that can barely walk. 00:10:18 Speaker 5: Take the best vert, take the best seventy year old. Do you think you could beat up any seventy year old? In a boxing match. Yeah, I don't think any of us could. 00:10:28 Speaker 3: I was going to say eighty. 00:10:31 Speaker 4: I was gonna say eighty five. 00:10:34 Speaker 5: I think there's an eighty year old that could take my dad's eighty three. I'm scared of my dad. Maybe I should go eighty five. I mean, being seventy. You all are like being. 00:10:46 Speaker 2: Yeah, seventy, I mean you still got old man's strength, You've probably still got your balance somewhat. 00:10:51 Speaker 3: Okay, seventy still is twelve years from me. I'm twelve different agent in between you guys, So that's not a lot. That's not a huge difference. 00:11:01 Speaker 5: I want you to go look at a picture of Robert Kennedy with his shirt off. 00:11:07 Speaker 4: You know, ain't beating that dude though. 00:11:09 Speaker 3: I don't know. 00:11:09 Speaker 4: I bet there's plenty of seating him up. 00:11:11 Speaker 3: Oh, and there's no way I'm beating him up. And he's seventy. Yeah, I'm going eighty. There's probably eighty five. 00:11:17 Speaker 5: I'm right. I'm with you. I'm going eighty five. Like these two, Shannon and Drew may be out here. 00:11:27 Speaker 4: Changing. 00:11:27 Speaker 5: Okay, So pick the age. What's the age you think you could take somebody? 00:11:32 Speaker 4: I think eighties about right to be safe eighty Yeah. Okay, Shannon, you're gonna go younger than eighties. 00:11:37 Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean probably somebody in their late seventies. 00:11:41 Speaker 4: You think you could take somebody like seventy seven. 00:11:43 Speaker 2: But you gotta think about guys like the wrestlers in their seventies. Okay, Hulk Hogan, could you beat him up? Hulk Hogan, he's I think he's in the seventies. 00:11:52 Speaker 4: Okay, we're not beating Hulk Hogan up. 00:11:54 Speaker 2: There's uh you know McMahon even, I mean think about Vince. He would beat he would beat all of us up. 00:12:01 Speaker 5: It's McMahon would pulverize all of us. 00:12:07 Speaker 2: He would beat us up. 00:12:08 Speaker 5: Rememberan, I would say, if you fought a ninety year old, that would be that would not be nice of you. 00:12:14 Speaker 4: If you were out there, we could set this up, you know, if. 00:12:17 Speaker 5: You were to go challenge any nine year radio RN radio arm was at that remote and he's ninety, he's ninety. 00:12:25 Speaker 4: I'm not sure you could take him in a five K. 00:12:28 Speaker 3: I believe that, no doubt. 00:12:29 Speaker 2: I mean, I'm squared for a sixty year old. Al Snow. 00:12:32 Speaker 4: I didn't beat him, Okay, forget Al Snow would would kill us. 00:12:35 Speaker 2: Yes, Lawler was seventy something when I faced off with him and Owen's brow. I didn't beat him up. 00:12:41 Speaker 4: So ninety you think you could beat up Radio RN. 00:12:45 Speaker 3: No, No, Ryan Good, I could beat him up. 00:12:50 Speaker 2: I can beat him Radio Run. 00:12:53 Speaker 4: Who's up next? 00:12:54 Speaker 2: Let's go to Heaven? 00:12:55 Speaker 4: Heaven? Go ahead, Heaven. 00:12:58 Speaker 7: Hey amen, I just want to talk about Mark Pope for a minute. One of the things that struck me watching that Journey video is just how engaging he is with the players. I mean, he walked into the locker, he walked in the locker room at halftime, and the first thing he does is ask the team, Hey, guys, what are we doing well? What are we not doing well? 00:13:17 Speaker 4: You know? 00:13:18 Speaker 7: And we're getting killed in isolation ball screens. They're all on the same page, you know. And and then if if you go out there and you know they know how to fix it, and if Duke still beat you and there's so much better than you, then I mean you can live with it almost, But you know, it was so refreshing to see is them all on the same page. And then I mean there's been years, there's been games the past few years where it didn't look like we knew what a ball scream was. I have to say if if cal I mean, KL talks about players being empowered, but I feel like Mark Pope takes it to just like a whole other level. 00:13:52 Speaker 4: I think all of that is. 00:13:55 Speaker 5: I think that's a good I think he does empower the players, but he also he doesn't empower them on their own. He gives them tools to be empowered, and I think that makes this team is gonna be fun to watch. 00:14:07 Speaker 4: Let me ask you a question. 00:14:08 Speaker 5: We talked about thirteen non conference games we picked at the beginning of the year, how many we'd lose. We all kind of thought they'd be like ten and three. Now they've beaten Duke, who I think we thought they would lose two. Ohio State hasn't looked quite as good as we thought they would. Clemson lost by twelve to Boise State. Louisville lost by twenty to Tennessee. With their non conference record, now. 00:14:32 Speaker 3: Right, I thought they'd lose to Duke, did Clemson and Gonzaga? I think now that Clemson Gonzaga week, they probably split. I want to say, ione gonna. 00:14:41 Speaker 4: Say one, So you're gonna say twelve and one. 00:14:43 Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna go one. 00:14:44 Speaker 6: Okay, what about you? I think I had them losing two of these. I'm moving it to one. They'll lose one of Clemson Gonzaga. I mean, maybe Louisville start looking a little better. I don't see them losing the Louisville at home, and I would have had Ohio State a little closer until I saw them lose by fifteen. So I think they beat Ohio State and Louisville and then drop one one of the other two. 00:15:02 Speaker 2: Channing, I'll go eleven and two overall. I think probably Clemson and Gonzaga back to back. There's a good chance you dropped those two. 00:15:10 Speaker 4: I'm gonna say twelve and one. 00:15:11 Speaker 5: I mean, I think I think they I think we're driving all the way out there, but I think we probably lose to Gonzaga. But I think I kind of think we're gonna steal one at Clemson. Now, I mean I think that you know that's twelve. 00:15:26 Speaker 4: Why not? 00:15:26 Speaker 5: I mean that'll be the week right before the ACC Championship, which they are gonna be playing in. 00:15:30 Speaker 4: Maybe they don't five, maybe they don't care as much. 00:15:33 Speaker 3: In Gonzaga Football Championship, the Gonzaga game, the one that scares me. I think they're really good and it's out there. 00:15:38 Speaker 5: But if I thought it was gonna be ten and three, yeah, and if it ends up being twelve and one, now all of a sudden, you're sitting there going, why can't we be a two seed or a three seed, you know, instead of a four or five, which is kind of what I was. 00:15:50 Speaker 4: Looking at before before the season. 00:15:53 Speaker 5: If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, tell me about Stocktor Morton. 00:15:56 Speaker 3: Let's just say, for example, you know somebody who's kind of casually looking at houses, and you send them a listing over the weekend for them to look at, and maybe they kind of like it. So I would think that person probably should call Stockton Mortgage, you know, anybody like that. 00:16:08 Speaker 5: I didn't love their choice, but nevertheless I do like the idea of it. 00:16:12 Speaker 3: Uh so, yeah, so stock to market would be your next step. If you're that person, you talk to a loan officer, and you can keep that same long officer throughout the entire process. They get to the closing table, and that's what's all about. So good a try Stockton Mortgage in MLS A two five nine equal Housing lender. 00:16:25 Speaker 5: By the way, people are telling me that Good's nickname is not automatic Evan, what is it money mcferce, money, macnei mac. So not quite the same as automatic, I mean actually not even close. We'll take a break and be right back the SCSR. Yeah, well, a lot of people watched that and thought they could beat Mike Tyson. People forget Jake Paul like his trade is a train box, Like it's not the same as just us, right, you know, but I don't know that I could take any of these people. One person rights Matt. I know, Ambient Matt could take on an old amb Matt. It can do all physical feeds. 00:17:05 Speaker 3: Ambia Matt has beer muscles. 00:17:07 Speaker 5: No amb Matt just he just knows how to do his movie. 00:17:11 Speaker 4: Okay, you don't understand. 00:17:13 Speaker 3: There's a lot of people sending his name like Chuck Norris is in his eighties. There's no way we could beat Chuck Norris. 00:17:18 Speaker 5: No, Sylvester Saloon and Tulsa King, he's seventy eight. No, he's you're not taking him. 00:17:24 Speaker 3: No. 00:17:25 Speaker 5: Even in that show he slaps people left and right, So you're not gonna do that. One person rights. How's Drew gonna bring up. Maybe Louisville. They lost to Tennessee by twenty in Tennessee's point guard had eleven turnovers. I need more confidence from Drew about the Louisville game. Well, I predicted a win. What do you want from me? I think it'll be a big win. Ken Palm has it as like a double digit victory if it were played tomorrow. Yeah, I think we I don't think Louisville's good and I'll be on I have not watched one minute of Louisville. 00:17:53 Speaker 6: I cannot name one player on Louisville. I do not know how they play, and I probably will not watch louisvill until we play them. 00:17:58 Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm I enjoyed. 00:18:01 Speaker 5: I mean, once I saw their team picture, Shannon, I felt like I need to see that team on a basketball court as much as possible. 00:18:06 Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like if we lose to that team, maybe we should just pack it in for the rest of the season. You can't lose to that team. 00:18:11 Speaker 4: Let me go over a little bit of a schedule here. So tomorrow Kentucky. 00:18:14 Speaker 3: Plays Lipscomb, Yeah, David Lipscomb. 00:18:16 Speaker 5: Lipscomb has lost to Arkansas, they played somebody else. 00:18:20 Speaker 4: Decent things We had Belmont beat and blew it at the end. 00:18:24 Speaker 5: Yes, so we play them on Tuesday. Should be a nice battle here. We'll be doing the pregame show here at the bar. Wednesday, I host my trivia. So get all your get all your your trivia heads together and get ready, get your team together. That's Wednesday night is our November. I host the trivia. I'm glad you told me that because I didn't know that. So I have my team ready. Yes, the Dream Team, it's the Dream Team comes out and then we play again on Friday. 00:18:50 Speaker 4: Basketball. 00:18:51 Speaker 5: We play Jackson State on on Friday. This is the BBN Invitational. It starts Ola, OH Western, Kentucky, Lipscomb and Jacksons eight oh. 00:19:00 Speaker 4: This is our tournament. 00:19:01 Speaker 6: Yes, Lipscomb already lost to UH Western yesterday to lead off. 00:19:06 Speaker 4: That was so what invitational has already begun? The Kentucky Invitational has already started already yesterday. I'm surprised you weren't there. 00:19:14 Speaker 2: I didn't get the invitation. 00:19:15 Speaker 4: I didn't get the invitation for the Kentucky Invitational. 00:19:19 Speaker 3: Did you know it started? I didn't even know that thought it was called. I thought it was the Bill Kitely Invitational. Kawood Ledford Invitation between changed the name like every. 00:19:26 Speaker 6: Year Western beat Lipscomb by five. So Lipscomb then Jackson State Friday than Western, and please. 00:19:33 Speaker 4: Keep the bracket for me of the Kentucky Invitation. 00:19:36 Speaker 2: Way better on the promotional stuff here for this Kentucky tournament. 00:19:39 Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, I will say the Kentucky Invitational is not getting Jake Paul, Mike Tyson. 00:19:46 Speaker 4: Oh, it's the Bbing Invitational. 00:19:48 Speaker 5: They should have had Mark Pope slapped the coach at Western to get it started. Could anyone name the coach at Western? No, I bet Billy can't name it either, But no, I don't know them either. Well, the lips It's two tomorrow night. I will say Hank something. I have more people asking me about tickets for games like this than I have in a long time. I think we're gonna see crowds for these next few games. After the Duke win. I think people are like, I got to go find a way to go and get into that ren. 00:20:20 Speaker 3: I think we'll have a big crowd tomorrow night because's coming off the Duke win. We haven't played in a week. People are so excited about this basketball team. We'll know during the pregame show. If this place is full at four thirty, it's gonna be full of roupy in it for tip off. 00:20:31 Speaker 4: Who's up next? 00:20:32 Speaker 2: Let's go to Joe. 00:20:34 Speaker 4: Joe, Go ahead, Joe. 00:20:36 Speaker 8: Yeah, thanks Matt. Earlier in the show, y'all were critiquing our offensive line, and Matt, I'll be the first to admd our five material alignement have not been really great, and we'll be honest with you, not even good. But Matt, on a football play, there's wide receivers, there's running backs that also have to block, and I think Ryan Levin sometime overlook that maybe Dane don't get it. He ain't the greatest block. 00:21:03 Speaker 3: In down No, no, no, no, you're not watching the same game. 00:21:08 Speaker 4: I would say this, though I agree with you. 00:21:10 Speaker 5: Our wide receivers may not be the best downfield blockers. But the reason we're getting sacked is not the wide receivers. We're getting sacked because the offensive lineman. You're right, the tight ends get beat. I'm totally with you on that, But Dane or berry on missing a downfield block has almost nothing to do with getting sacked. 00:21:31 Speaker 8: Okay, I'm talking mainly like our young running back breaks loose or maybe don't get that down. 00:21:37 Speaker 5: To be fair, Yeah, but that's not the same as the quarterback sacks. 00:21:41 Speaker 4: I agree with you. 00:21:42 Speaker 5: They do have receivers that miss downfield blocks on runs. 00:21:46 Speaker 4: But our problem is not those plays, sir. Our problem is the quarterback getting no time. 00:21:53 Speaker 8: Well, first of all, we're more of a run teams passing team. And my last question is of misterry Levin. Is our young man going to come back and show he's the best receiver in the SEC or is he gonna go pro? Thank y'all. 00:22:04 Speaker 5: You seem like a ball of joy today, by the way. I mean, I just want you to think about that call. You call, you blast the kid, and then you passively aggressively. 00:22:13 Speaker 4: Ask if he's gonna come back. 00:22:14 Speaker 5: I think that's a That was a pretty you're You've called us for many years and I like you a lot, but that was a pretty unnecessary tone on those two. You can answer the question about whether or not you think he's gonna come back. I did see he's now projected as like a fourth round draft pick. Do you think if he were to be a fourth round draft pick he would go? I mean, I think he'll just do like every player does you know, But what do you think he would do if he was projected as that? I mean, because that's kind of where he's projected right now. 00:22:42 Speaker 3: I would think if it was me, I would I would go if if that was me, I'm but if you. 00:22:47 Speaker 5: Were a fourth round draft pick and they said, if you come back and dominate, you could get in the first or second. 00:22:52 Speaker 3: Round, it'd be tough, Yeah. 00:22:56 Speaker 5: Because there are guys who their their their skill set will not allow him to move up. Yeah, but he's a guy based on heightened speed that couldn't move up. 00:23:04 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:23:05 Speaker 3: Him, him and bury On both I think have that. 00:23:06 Speaker 4: A Barryon is not projected in the draft right now. 00:23:08 Speaker 3: No, but he's got that speed that but he's. 00:23:11 Speaker 4: Not gonna grow. No, So I don't know. I mean, Dane's an interesting case to me. 00:23:18 Speaker 5: Yeah, because Dane has the build to be a first round pick. 00:23:21 Speaker 3: And he's proved this year he could be an NFL receiver. 00:23:24 Speaker 4: But he's projected like now, right in the fourth. 00:23:26 Speaker 3: Yeah, So what do you think he would do? I mean, I wouldn't go. 00:23:29 Speaker 4: Okay, well that's probably what he would end up doing. Then we'll take a break. Very back. SCISR. TJ. 00:23:35 Speaker 5: Smith personal injury attorney called TJ He'll make them pay. 00:23:39 Speaker 2: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:44 Speaker 5: Welcome back, Turkey Sports Radio five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, Text Machine seven seven two seven four five two five four. They give a list plays all right on the sports media members. 00:24:17 Speaker 3: Sports media. 00:24:18 Speaker 4: Okay, some of them want this opportunity. 00:24:20 Speaker 5: Look, let's just say we would never want to do any of this. Okay, we like all of these people. This is just hypothetical. Okay, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go through the list as they have them. 00:24:31 Speaker 4: Are you ready? I'm ready. Do you like house full or whatever? In Club Blue? 00:25:04 Speaker 4: Yeah? And Club Blue. 00:25:07 Speaker 3: I think I can take Tom. 00:25:08 Speaker 4: All right. I think I could take Tom. Shannon. You think you can take Tom? 00:25:12 Speaker 2: I am wearing him down. 00:25:15 Speaker 4: Take it down for sure, all right. 00:25:18 Speaker 5: Jeff Pecorro, Oh he'd kicked my butt, he killed me, He would kill me. 00:25:23 Speaker 4: I wouldn't he killed me? Shannon? 00:25:25 Speaker 2: Would you? 00:25:27 Speaker 3: Oh you think you could beat. 00:25:30 Speaker 2: W getting live for the Radio Championship. 00:25:34 Speaker 4: Jeff would absolutely crush you. 00:25:36 Speaker 5: Dick Gabriel, Oh yeah, it's like a black belt in like, oh he's a black belt. 00:25:44 Speaker 2: This is this is boxing. 00:25:46 Speaker 4: Yeah, but this is boxing. He's not allowed to kick. 00:25:50 Speaker 3: I don't Dick Gabriel beat my ass. 00:25:52 Speaker 4: See I was gonna say. 00:25:54 Speaker 5: I was gonna say I could beat up Dick Gabriel, But if he has training, then I'm gonna leave to. 00:25:59 Speaker 4: So I'll give Dick. Oh yeah, I just google he's a six degree black belt. 00:26:03 Speaker 5: He's a sixth degree, sixth degree black bear. 00:26:08 Speaker 4: Unless I have a different that happened. 00:26:10 Speaker 3: That's right. 00:26:11 Speaker 4: I knew. 00:26:11 Speaker 3: I knew he was an a black belt. 00:26:14 Speaker 4: That's a different one. I don't know. But regardless, if there's any chance this is true, I'm out. 00:26:18 Speaker 5: That's amazing, Shannon, You're gonna take out six degree black belt Dick Gabriel. 00:26:22 Speaker 2: I was just producing a show about two hours ago. I could do it, though, face tomorrow morning. 00:26:30 Speaker 5: You're telling Gabriel would destroy what's. 00:26:35 Speaker 3: The one for? 00:26:36 Speaker 2: Ryan? 00:26:36 Speaker 4: Ryan? 00:26:36 Speaker 2: Could you beat up? Beat up Jim Host? 00:26:39 Speaker 4: Jim Host? 00:26:40 Speaker 3: Oh, I would take up. 00:26:41 Speaker 4: I could take a die. I think everybody could take out Jim Host. Okay, Cameron Mills. 00:26:48 Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, younger than me, yeah, I think we could take Cameron. 00:26:53 Speaker 6: I gotta go backwards for a second. I found a website. It says Master Dick Gabriel is a six degree black belt who has been still chun yin Shallon martial Arts since nineteen seventy seven. 00:27:04 Speaker 4: All of us Master Dick Gabriel. 00:27:06 Speaker 5: That's what they call him that They call him Master Dick Gabriel. 00:27:10 Speaker 4: On this website. 00:27:11 Speaker 9: We're going to. 00:27:14 Speaker 4: All right, all right, Alan Cutler, Yeah, I feel like we could. 00:27:19 Speaker 5: We could take Alec take out. Hey, this is unfiltered now, and I could take you. 00:27:23 Speaker 2: He does have good cardio, though he hushed you down. 00:27:25 Speaker 3: He does. 00:27:26 Speaker 5: He does have good cardio. You have to work we work it out. We could take We could take al. 00:27:31 Speaker 4: Colk must Off knocking out, didn't find himself. Rob Bromley, Yeah, come on, man, we can take it off. I haven't seen Robin. You can take Rob Bromley. Yeah, okay, just the I they got a little age on. Okay, I got one for you. Okay. Jack Gibbons, Jack Gibbons, No, Jack. 00:27:52 Speaker 3: Jack could definitely take it. 00:27:53 Speaker 4: Jack definitely could take me. Wait for sure. 00:27:56 Speaker 6: Yeah, and I'm not capable of even lifting my arm to throw a punch of Jack Gibbons. 00:27:59 Speaker 4: One Jack Jack Gibbons. 00:28:03 Speaker 3: John Clay, I've never met him. 00:28:06 Speaker 2: I don't even know what he looks like. 00:28:07 Speaker 5: I think you could take John. Okay, here's a good one. He's not with u K anymore. But Kyle Tucker, Oh we almost found out a few times. 00:28:17 Speaker 3: That almost happened. 00:28:18 Speaker 4: That's one that was probably close to occurring quite a bit. 00:28:21 Speaker 3: I'm taking Kyle Tucker's gonna he beat me. He'd take me. 00:28:25 Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a good tough I could see him going either way. He could be sneaky, good fighter, or he could be terrible. I don't know what Kyle Tucker would we'd get in the ring. 00:28:34 Speaker 5: Yeah, you know he's he's uh, he's liberal, so I'm taking. 00:28:39 Speaker 4: Liberals. 00:28:40 Speaker 6: It's not like his Twitter mentions would get behind me and we gang up on him and take him down. 00:28:44 Speaker 4: Yeah. I think I think, I think we I think we could get him. Seth Greenberg. 00:28:49 Speaker 10: Wear that little ball man out, but you know he could have target, he could have that crazy what did you just say. 00:29:03 Speaker 2: To wear that little bald head out right on that head. 00:29:15 Speaker 4: Something? Let's go to Clay Clay go ahead, Clay. 00:29:20 Speaker 9: Hey just wanted to go back to that halftime speech by Pope. He said something in there that h that I really I really liked. I'm gonna paraphrase, but he said something like, they'll want to be where we're at, but they won't want to do what we did to get there. And I think that's kind of like just like the theme of the season, like these guys like they never expected to be here at Kentucky Pope. I mean eleven years ago he was in medical school, so I don't think he ever really expected to be here. And it's just like this believe, you know, like Ted Lasso and uh. I think that's the kind of thing. 00:29:59 Speaker 5: I appreciate the ca Mark Pope said in that video, the want to be where we are, but they won't want to do what we had to do to get there. I love that quote and I felt like it was especially opera pos about this group, right because this group is work Like. 00:30:16 Speaker 4: For this group to. 00:30:16 Speaker 5: Reach their goals, it ain't gonna be just on sheer talent. They're gonna have to outwork to get there. And I love that quote. I thought it was such an emblematic quote Ryan, of what Mark seems to be about. 00:30:28 Speaker 3: I totally agree with that. You know, coming from Fairleigh, Dickinson and Drexel and Dayton, these guys didn't expect they were gonna end up playing at Kentucky and playing on a team now that we all think can make a big run in March. So I love that quote. 00:30:39 Speaker 5: And there's something awesome about I mean, look, if this team again, they've got to win, and so far they have, but if this team if we take a group who the starting lineup and I know they went to the national championship, but the starting lineup is San Diego State, Oklahoma, but not even one of the best players in Oklahoma. B Y, you wake Forest Drexel coming off the bench with Fairleigh Dickinson, West Virginia Dayton a Mormon mission like that is there's just something Drew kind of special about winning that way, because I don't think in the rest of the Mark Pope era that's how we're gonna be winning is with a group like that. 00:31:25 Speaker 6: And even what's considered on paper, your star was a sixth man at BYU. Oh wait, wasn't even one of the main guys in Oklahomas you're saying. So it's not just the randomness of the schools. Some of them came from smaller roles at these smaller programs and they stepped up. 00:31:39 Speaker 5: I just I mean, I love that. And then even our two high school recruits are two guys from Harlan and Eddieville. I mean, it's not like they were walking the streets of the biggest cities in America. They were in the second region, in the thirteenth region. Like for that team to have success. It's just it will be very special special if they're able to do it. 00:32:04 Speaker 4: Who's next, Sam, Sam? Go ahead, Sam? 00:32:09 Speaker 7: Hey, Thanks Matt. 00:32:10 Speaker 9: Watching that Journey video just actually brought tears to my eyes seeing Andrew Carr kind of step up with his word of my I think all of them just stepping up. Its huge. But as I was listening to Countdown to Kickoff yesterday, I felt like you and Myron were getting a little bit fiery there. I was getting a little a little worried. 00:32:29 Speaker 4: Oh, Myron and I have fun. We were talking about milk. 00:32:32 Speaker 5: I said, anyone who drinks milk as an adult is a psychopath and uh, and Myron claimed he loved milk. And then we realized it was almond milk, which is not the last time I checked an almond is not an animal. 00:32:46 Speaker 4: So I didn't say that. I didn't believe that was real milk. 00:32:49 Speaker 5: And it just led to, you know, a strong argument on Countdown to Kickoff you can get on podcasts Sunday Mornings with Matt Myron. 00:32:55 Speaker 3: Right, I feel horrible. I had two glasses of milk last night. 00:32:58 Speaker 4: Me too. 00:32:59 Speaker 3: Yeah, you gotta have milk, gotta have milk. 00:33:04 Speaker 4: Shan and I rest my case. 00:33:05 Speaker 3: There you go, crew drink milk last night? 00:33:10 Speaker 4: How do you eat a chocolate chip cookie and not have milk? 00:33:13 Speaker 5: Well, okay, fine, but I'm just asking you. You're sitting down at home, it's nine o'clock at night, you're just pouring a glass, a glass of whole milk into a into a glass and drinking it. 00:33:28 Speaker 3: No, not in that scenario exactly. 00:33:30 Speaker 5: That's what I'm talking about. Dipping a cookie into it is a different thing. I'm saying to you. If you just drink as a pleasure, full drink a glass of milk, that is psychotic behavior as an adult, as an adult. 00:33:44 Speaker 4: What if it's with your breakfast, Okay, with cereal, perfectly reason. What about pancakes, baking and eggs and a big glass? Weird, but I'll take it. Okay. 00:33:54 Speaker 5: But if it's eight o'clock, your feeder up, I'm watching the game, and you pour a glass of milk into a glass and drink it, that's the kind. 00:34:02 Speaker 2: Of whoa hang on, dump dump I hit both dump buttons just before Lamb and Marcus T. 00:34:13 Speaker 4: Holy cow, did I just do that? 00:34:16 Speaker 3: Yeah, it's only like the second time ever that I've been with you. 00:34:20 Speaker 5: Wow, you got a round of the pause here. I think I just got into his zone. You did, okay, this guy dumped. Yeah, you did, only. 00:34:29 Speaker 3: For like the second time. 00:34:31 Speaker 2: You wash your mouth out, remember one other time. 00:34:34 Speaker 5: I don't think I've ever been dumb before one other because I've never been rubbed in the fact that you have one, and I don't. 00:34:39 Speaker 2: You were quoting the woman at the McDonald's. 00:34:41 Speaker 4: Drive through, at the McDonald's drive but. 00:34:45 Speaker 2: That right there was not quoting anybody. 00:34:47 Speaker 4: That was just that is I don't even talk like. That's the thing about milk. It causes you to go out of your celf. 00:34:55 Speaker 3: Wow, I didn't know that. 00:34:56 Speaker 4: Wow. 00:34:57 Speaker 5: These people sitting right here, you're the only ones that have ever seen that happen. 00:35:00 Speaker 4: They started clapping. 00:35:01 Speaker 3: So if you drink milk, you cussed like a sailor? 00:35:04 Speaker 4: Wow, jeez, fight media members cussing? Would you at home? Amy and Matt the host of you at home? No, you would have never. Wow, we know. 00:35:13 Speaker 3: What's what you know? 00:35:15 Speaker 2: What was the rest of the sentence. 00:35:17 Speaker 3: I don't know. 00:35:17 Speaker 4: It's like I was taken over by cussing monster. 00:35:20 Speaker 3: The look on your face is what I was wishing. 00:35:22 Speaker 4: I couldn't believe I said it. 00:35:23 Speaker 3: Did you get it? Will you recording when he did that? 00:35:25 Speaker 4: Mario, No, thank you for not recording. You're looking at the official credit union. 00:35:30 Speaker 5: The University of Kentucky is UK Federal Credit Union. They are the no I'm just kidding, the usual official credit Union of UK since nineteen thirty seven and supporting the educational community from students to graduate, employee and beyond. 00:35:42 Speaker 4: It's UKFCU dot org. 00:35:45 Speaker 5: Stop by today or go online at uk FCU dot org. Open a new checking account, visit a branch. They are all over the place, including a new one on Bryant Driving, Nicholasville. It's UKFCU FCU dot org, UK Federal Credit. 00:36:00 Speaker 2: You right, let's get the letters right. 00:36:03 Speaker 5: Yeah, we gotta reset and take a break. Very backs, R wow, welcome back. Take you sports radio. I do agree with this statement here on the text machine, Shannon, you have to your line about Seth Greenberg. 00:36:20 Speaker 4: You need to make a drop like you need to make that a drop for you. 00:36:25 Speaker 5: Know, for for j billis or yes, that that is that was That was a great shanded line. 00:36:32 Speaker 4: One person writes, Matt. 00:36:33 Speaker 5: I'm not sure if I've heard a more or less manly segment in the history of the show talking about beating people up and then you dropping a cuss word. It wasn't as bad like those of you that didn't hear it. It's not as bad as you think. No, but it was one that you But that will always be a mystery to the listeners because they're never gonna know what I was. 00:36:51 Speaker 3: What I said, just the people sitting here. 00:36:53 Speaker 5: Yeah, you guys have a secret for the people sitting here for for all times. My point was if you watch television and movies and they show people who are crazy, oftentimes the way they show you that they're crazy is that they drink milk. Okay, Domer Bundy in No Country for Old Men, Before he kills somebody, he drinks a glass of milk, inglorious bastards in the beginning Silence of the Lambs like those. One of the ways you showcase that a person is crazy is you have them, as an adult, drink a glass of milk. That's what I was trying to say. Uh, it didn't come out like that, but Ryan, that's what I was trying. 00:37:38 Speaker 3: I didn't know milk was in correlation with crazy people. Yes, I enjoy a good glass of milk. In a glass glass A. 00:37:46 Speaker 4: Couple of things. 00:37:47 Speaker 5: I have my new favorite two new favorite college basketball player. Shit, I have two. Would you like to know to they are? He's like hitting step back threes with a hen in his face, so at pounds. 00:39:47 Speaker 5: I am going to be finding their games on ESPN Plus during the course of the year. 00:39:53 Speaker 4: Who's next, ship or Junior? It will be made by. 00:41:32 Speaker 5: Tn T and in exchange, tn T gets college football and college basketball games from ESPN. 00:41:38 Speaker 4: So that was it's like a trade. So I like that. 00:41:41 Speaker 3: That's great. I mean that show is become an icon, you know, it's it's as big as the NBA is bigger than the NBA game that they're covering that night. 00:41:49 Speaker 4: So I liked that. I was glad to hear that. 00:41:50 Speaker 5: By the way, ESPN don't film this, Mario, because I do work for them. ESPN a little message, do not do not put stephen A on that show.
