Speaker 1: What's up, everybody? And welcome to another episode of Bachelor Happy Hour. I'm your girl, Rachel Lindsay and joining me again, which I'm so pleased about. It's my wonderful co host Becca kou Friend. Hello, everybuddy, what's up? You got? You gotta have like a what's up everybody? Y'all? Grocery store Joe was here. He was like, what up? What up? And we were lying joining I need a new text line. I guess. I don't know. Sometimes when I put on the spot, I started to say words that I usually would never say. Okay, so I just said, y'all, and I'm from Minnesota. We don't say that there. Y'all is universal. Everybody says it. Now I feel like overseas people were saying, y'all, we're overseas. I don't know. I think I wanted to make that up, so now I'm saying things that I may have They were actually speaking another language, but it's kind of like y'all. Well, listen. Ever since you've been a guest host on a Bachelor Happy Hour, you've been a co host, which again you are today, but I have yet to put you in the hot seat. And everybody who comes to Bachelor Happy Hour sits in the hot seat. Yeah no, seriously, cue the music. Now it's I don't think it's as intense as the one that you're used to with Chris Harrison. But this is doable. But Chris Harrison, it's it's that was more intense because you're in front of a live audience. This may be more intense because because questions like like there, we're not on TV, so I can pretty much fucking say anything like that. So I'm gonna see my cell phone. Known, guys, it's been fun. Care no, no, no, don't worry. It's gonna be a good time. You're gonna have fun no matter what. So let's get right to it now. One of my favorite memories of you was on the fifteen year reunion, the Bachelorette reunion, you told the story about how you and Garrett broke the bed doing one of your happy couples. Now, wait a minute, you didn't have to tell us that story because we all saw it the next day. It was like, h what's wrong with that headboard behind them? That looks like it's a little bit broken. Yeah, so I feel like that's just the tip of the Iceberg, and you probably have some more juicy stories to tell, So please, for all of our Bachelor happy our listeners, do you tell. I don't know how juicy this is, but so there's a lot of time that you have downtime with you know, your team, the we get makeup, and we have a beautiful stylist who I love, and so you have a lot of downtime with your team. And I think it was halfway through I was I was obviously very into Garrett all the way through, but he had never for some reason, I'd never seen him with a shirt off, and I really wanted to. And so Gina, the makeup artists, and I were sitting there one night and I was like, I really want to see Garrett with a shirt off. I just want to see what I'm working with here. And they happen to have these T shirts that we made in Park City with our faces on them, and so she's like, oh, it's right here, just take that. Tell him you want to see what he looks like in it. And then we all just like catch glimpses of him with a shirt off. So I think I hit him back in a cabana. The camera crew still came through. Wait where are you were? I think we're in last guess Okay, yes, because we were at a row ceremony and him and I snuck away got to this command. I had the shirt and I wanted my alone time with him to like, you know, have him take it off a little like Chippindale style. The camera I think got in the corner, so it wasn't as romantic and smooth as I wanted it to be. But that was the first time I saw him with a shirt off, and so you were pleased. I was pleased. It sounds like you were asking all the relevant questions to me. I think I would have liked when I saw with him regardless, Like he could have had a dad bod and it would have been fine. But he doesn't, right, I feel like you might want to put that out there. He doesn't. But I will say I when we were living in when we were living in Minnesota, I was making a lot of like great home cooked comfort meals, and so I both of us should have probably not as had seconds. But no, but he's doing great now, he's he's looking fun, he's getting back in the gym. Yeah, I mean, and that was the season like you let things go a little bit. Listen, I've been in married life, you know, these last few months, and so I'm not thinking the gym really that much at all. It's like I was hard before. You're just happy when you're traveling so much. So yeah, we have to get back on that new twenty diet work up plays the time. It's right around the corner. Um. It's hard when someone asks you what's a juicy story, because I'm trying to think, well, what was a juicy story from my season? Um, I'll tell you I almost got physical. I was. I was. I was physically ill on the two on one on my season. You didn't have to go, no, I did. But I realized how much like when people talk about stress and anxiety, I was so anxious about going on this two on one that I physically made myself sick. I was so nauseous, and then as soon as it was over, I was perfectly fine. But I get I can't think of anything crazy. I mean, did you sneak anybody to your room? M to my room? No cameras, No, no cameras. Okay, so I did have late come to my room once, no cameras, But it was on his birthday, no cameras, but we weren't alone. We were with the producers. We had a birthday cake, so we sang Happy Birthday. I did also. I think it was on Garrett's hometown. Actually, we usually they keep you separate, you know, in the vehicles, if people didn't know that. But Garrett and I had a long drive to wherever we were picking tomatoes, and so we got to be together without cameras, which was actually very fun because we were stuck in traffic. We had some beer, which I shouldn't admit because we weren't driving, but that was fun. I think we just made out the entire time as we had people surrounding us. Well, you get it just becomes a way alife. You get used to it well, and that's it makes it hard to be juicy because you can never really be alone that much. No, But I mean, I feel like there are times I was adamant though I was like, I am going to sneak into especially when I knew where their rooms were. I was like, I'm going to sneak into their rooms. I'm going to get out yea chicken like chicken out at the last minute that I was like, no, no no, no, no, I can't. I can't do it. I see. And I was always so tired because you're so exhausted, because you probably an average of like four hours per night. I just wanted to sleep. So there. I think when I first started, I told one of the producers, like, Okay, I want to wake up early, go to the mansion when they were also living there, and get there at like five or six in the morning and see if anyone's awake, if anyone's working out, if anyone's cooking, like what it's like to see how they live when I'm not around. And then that day happened, I was like, I'm sleeping. I have no energy and got to get those precious three hours to sleep. Yeah. I think one thing that people like, a behind the scenes thing that people don't really get is we say it, but they truly don't understand that we don't have any alone time with these guys. So when you do, for example, you mentioned having that car ride with Garrett, we don't even rind in the car with two dates with the other person. No, And I remember it was I was out in the last two and I got a card with Brian and I just remember thinking, this is kind of what it would be like in real life, and you can have real conversation. And actually a couple of guys on my season we were driving there was just a walkie talkie in the car, so we got to have genuine conversation and I got to see not that we don't before, but there's just something about not having a crew around you right without the camera. Yeah, completely, And I will say, like, you get to know your team who you're with because you're with them day in and day out. So when they're around, it doesn't even feel like they understand that you want your time with the person, and so they kind of sit back and they'll talk and do their own thing and kind of just let you be at it. Yeah. No, absolutely, And having the right producer is everything for you, like somebody who can really bring that out of you and have you opened up and that you trust, right because you don't have your family and friends around you, so you really have to trust whoever you're with all day, every day. One thing I really like about your relationship with Garrett is that you guys really seem to be to yourself and you don't seem to do things for show for social media purposes. You seem to just truly be living your life so and that's rare and bastination. I mean truly, it's just you guys seem to be doing you. So, how is life with Garrett? And you know, give us a little inside of what we've been missing since we've seen you guys on camera. It's good, it's I mean, since we stopped filming. It's been about a year and a half now. It's been a whirlwind because we moved, We're living in California. Now, we got a dog, We're talking about potentially buying a house. Like all these adult things that I've never had in my life is finally happening with him. I will say, I have to give him the credit for us still staying true to who we are because he is so salt of the earth. I mean, he grew up in a small town. His family raised him so well to work hard, so he really keeps me grounded. I mean, I love, I love to still be part of the vat Nation world if and when I can. But I also realized, like I went on the show for a purpose, and that was to find a partner and to find somebody to do life with and that's my number one priority and so for him to just focus on that as well. And I think we're very aligned in that regard. We're like, that's we are each other's like number ones right now, and it's not all of the glitz and the clam and the the like sharing absolutely everything with the internet because we're still us and want to keep that part of us private. He makes it very easy, so I give him the credit. But yeah, it's been fun. It's been definitely an adjustment living with a guy because he's the first guy I've ever lived with. Yeah, so luckily we have two bathrooms. I've learned that that is key. That is what my old boss taught me. She said, I always have your own bathroom, which is very important. So it's like we have our separate living quarters in our apartment when we need them, which I think is very important. But yeah, it's been fun. And we're traveling like crazy. He's the best travel partner. It's been good. It's so funny. I'm listening to you talk about the different aspects of your relationship and it really reminds me of Brian and I and I think a successful way to navigate this crazy world is the moment that you're announced, which is and I know you'll agree with me, it's the happiest day that you get to share with the world who you chose, but it's also the hardest day because everybody has an opinion of what they think you should have done right, And so I think the way to navigate this and the key to a successful relationship is to take yourself away from the spotlight and really build your own foundation and be a solid unit together so you can face anything craziness that comes at you, because it's going to come. And it seems like you and Garrett have really done that. And I bring that up because, for example, when you went to Chris and Crystal's wedding and Garrett didn't come with you immediately, it's like people, it's like, as much as people want to see you fall in love, they also want to speculate. But the love is gone. Yeah, you know, how did you guys handle that? Because I honestly don't even know. So mind you, Christ and Crystal's wedding before it aired, happened a couple months before that. So I went to this wedding way before anyone else had seen it, and I knew the entire time Garrett wasn't going to be able to make it. He still has a life, He still has friends from his hometown and they were having a birthday. I had already confirmed to go to the wedding. He had already confirmed to going to this birthday. So I was like, that's fine, Like I would never make you not go to this. Like we still have our identities, were still we can still do our own thing and appreciate it. I'm also very independent and I like I do like my alone time. Sometimes. As much as I love Garrett, I still I still want to do my own thing, and he appreciates that. He supports it, and I try to be the same with him. So when I went, it was like I looked at going to the wedding as a time for me to go with Tia and have fun with her and with Kendall and all these people who I hadn't seen in a while, and so it was great. It was fun. Fast forward to know a couple months later when the wedding actually airs and I'm on I'm watching the wedding on TV, and I'm just getting all of these dms and messages from people being like, oh my god, did you guys break up? Oh my gosh, you're a bad fiance, or Garrett's a bad fiance. Why didn't you go together? It's everyone's two cents. And I think I had posted a video. I think I had posted a DM from someone named Sharon who was like, you are a terrible partner. I've been with my partner for thirty six years and we do absolutely everything together, so it makes us stronger. And in my mind i'm reading this, I'm like, sound like you have a terrible relationships. So it's like you have no friends, you have zero identity. So it was interesting. I didn't mind. I think I was more annoyed with the fact that not only were people giving their two cents and giving me their opinions that I didn't care for ask for, but they were kind of bashing him in a way, which is like he's being a good friend and going to this guy's birthday, Like, let him do his thing. We're still fine. So when it comes to stuff like that, I just try to not get as involved. I won't like I know when I get overwhelmed and I feel this like energy or like it it's like social media pulls like an energy out of me at times where I just have to set my phone aside and I just have to say, Okay, I'm done, like I'm not going to look at it for a day. So that's what we do. Um No, I totally get it. It sucks that you have to explain your every action, especially when it comes to your significant other that you met on the show, to every everyone else you know. And I it's funny because when I saw I saw the hay that you were getting and I was like, people act like Garrett didn't show up to his own wedding right right? Yeah? I mean does he even know christ and Crystal? I don't know. I mean, yeah, he knows Christ as they were on the same season. But that's that. Yeah, but he actually went to his friend, his hometown friends what it was a wedding? What or birthday? Which I think is admirable. But it's like, but if Garrett wanted to stay at home, can Garrett and the man not stay at home? Yeah? We have, We don't even need an excuse. We didn't. I didn't. I should not have even told people that he went to this birthday. It doesn't matter, But it sucks that you have to feel the pressure, like the question that I'm about to ask you now, how you and Garrett feel? How do you and Garrett feel about everyone asking you when are you going to get married? Oh? I feel like it's the only thing we answer these days. Um, I get it. I get I mean, I do the same thing. I just ask Rachel if i' and Brian have been talking babies. So I'm at fault as well. Um again, I went on the show to find somebody to get engaged to eventually get married, So I understand that that's why people always asking. They're interested and everyone wants to know kind of the first details. It's exciting, like weddings are a great thing. It is. I don't want to stay annoying, But like if I post a picture of Garrett and I, the only comments I feel like we get, oh my gosh, I have babies right now? Or oh my gosh, when's the wedding. It's like there's more to our relationship than that. But again, it's because we put ourselves out there in that regard. We just I think we've gotten really good about answering it, and we literally have zero wedding plans right now, so it makes it easy to answer that. No. I think it's great that you guys are doing it on your own time. You don't feel the pressure to do things in a certain time or a bachelor time frame, you know, And I think that that's what's going to be so key to your relationship. You don't ever have to get married if you don't want to. The fact is that you found your person where we found each other, and you have something solid and at this point now you found you're a little furbaby I did Mino. Mino is probably making noises under the table as we speak because she's too in her bone. She's shot up when you said her name. Oh, she's finally, she's finally learning her name. For the longest time, she would just ignore me. She's so cute. And you you have shared your journey of wanting a little baby Corgy specifically, yes, And it seems like I don't know how what you did to Garrett, but you warmed down and he finally was like, Okay, let's do this thing. So take us through that process about how I just need to say, minnow is my pride and joy and I can't imagine life without her. I love her so much more than it's probably healthy. Oh, I got it. Yeah, she's just like dogs do. They just have this unconditional love and like she can do no wrong in my eyes. I mean that's not to say I don't have to discipline her at times because she's a little sass, But yeah, I had been wanting to Corgi since probably when since I came out of the womb. I mean, I just love dogs. Garrett he had never said no, but his whole thing was let's figure out where we're gonna live first, and let's not travel so much first. So I don't think that last part's ever gonna change anytime soon. We're just learning how to adapt with having her, which you know, especially being in California, everything is very dig friendly, which helps. But I had been talking to an adoption agency for quite some time. Actually, It's where like Caitlin and Jason got Ramen and I told her, I was like, if you happen to come across any quargies, not now because we were still traveling, but in six months, let me know. And so it was there was a long lead time and she finally had reached out and she's like, hey, we have this one corgy who needs adopting. Would you want her? And I so Garrett. I don't think he actually knows this part, but I ended up signing the adoption papers before he said yes, and so then I showed him a your face right now. So I showed him a picture of her and I think at that point she was two or three months and he's like, okay, yeah, like we can get her. That's fine, We're finally kind of settled. I think it was the two colored eyes that had sold him, because he loves ozzies and a lot of ozzies have two colored eyes. So I was like, oh, great, because I were getting her, and so I had signed it first. He said yes, So we then got her, and we actually we I'm surprised because we had been traveled. There's a couple of week period where they have to go through testing to make sure because she came from South Korea, so before they could fly her over, and we had actually been traveling in Asia, and so that timing worked out perfectly because we landed, she had been in the States for I think two or three days, and we weren't supposed to get her for a week, and I woke up the next day after landing from Bali and looks over at me. He's like, can we can we just get her today? Can we just take her home? And I'm like, what, Like, are you changing on me already? I was so surprised that he wanted to get her early, and so we brought her home, and I mean, my life is forever different. She's again my printing joy. I love her so much. I just like I love her a little butt. It's the cutest thing in the world. I have way too many like SloMo videos of her walking. But I tell Yarrett all the time. I'm like, I have to be put down before she ever is, because I can't live without her. I get the love of the pet. Believe me, there have been I'm actually so upset that Copper isn't here to day. I get the how meaningful they are in our lives and how they do no wrong. I mean literally, my dog Pete and pooped in the house today and that'll probably be like, oh you're safe. Do you want to do a gamp? Yeah? Let me get some more food and water. Yeah. I'm like, he needs boiled chicken and white rice to soothe this stomach. Um. No, I get it, and I love that, and I love how this you can tell this is meant to be, especially since we now know that you signed those papers first, and Garrett was right on board. I can't even imagine if it was the other way around. Well, yes I can, it would be exactly the way that it is. But now he wants another one. It took it took so long to finally get Minno, and now he's like, oh, well, I think we could do another one. And I'm like, okay, you don't even need to ask me, just do it. I love it. Do you have a name picked out already? Well, so for minnow, I wanted to name her after a food like taco or pico, and Garrett didn't like that, so we got Minno. Because I'm from Minnesota, he was from Marino. That's how we combined the two. I didn't know that, so that's how we got it. And he loves to fish, so he's like, oh, it's perfect. But I was thinking, I don't think I've told him this yet, but I was like, how can we also combine them? And I thought of Remy, Like I love the name Remy because it combines the first who of Reno in the first who I didn't even know that, But I love the name Remy, so maybe if that's what I named my child. I'm like, one time I was talking to Becca and she now, that's for your daughter. This is for my child. Okay, who's gonna have the baby first? So we talked about Minno, who's obviously your little fur baby. But you have another baby? Do you know where I'm going with this? You do you have another baby? I'm like, special announcement. No Be the label, Yes, really really working on now it's all come to fruition. It's out there. Yes, um tell us about Well, I want to know how you came about, not with the name, but she's like the concept and how you decided to do it. In a world where people seem to be having their own fashion lines, Be the label seems to be so different from anything that I've seen in regards to at least the Bachelor franchise. So Be the label is solely loungewear. And that's the part that I mean. I yes, on the show, we're always stressed up and put together because we have a lot of help. I don't like to wear I don't like to wear clothes. I don't like to wear uncomfortable clothes. I'm literally always in my sweats or my leggings when I'm at home. That's all I'm in, Like, that's all you'll find me in, probably to the point where Garret's like, can you not wear the same black leggings every day? So I started the loungewear line just because I feel like the majority of women like to be comfortable, and I still wanted something that when you're at home or even running Errandson going out, you want to feel put together. You don't want to feel like a slob or like this is your old ripped T shirt. So I started working with this amazing team up in la and the designer who she's fabulous. She actually came she worked on the lunge were line for Tommy Hill figure, so she has a lot of it experience. But it's been such a unique process for me because I didn't go to school for fashion. I this is totally new to me, so I'm still learning as I go, but it really is a creative outlet for me to get my hands on fabrics and prints and patterns and styles and picking out colors like I have such a say in it, and I want really involved, very inviting that I'm slapping my name on some clothing line like in it from beginning, yes, yes, like so when you say my baby, like it is legit my baby. It's probably the scariest, one of the scariest things I've ever done, because you never know, especially if it's something so new to you never know how it's going to go. And so we started, I think up in January or February, so it's been a long time coming, almost a year now, and I wanted it to be a fun thing to where the followers of our Instagram a help beet the label official, can have a say, and so I really wanted to be interact with them where it's like, well, if anyone follows it, like we'll slap on different options for colors and pick what the followers want or I get all these different dms and feedback on styles and if they want oversized things, and so we try to incorporate what everyone's asking for within the line. I mean, it's a very slow process because you can only have a certain amount of pieces for each line, but it's been a very fun creative outlet. So there seemed to be so many different aspects when it comes to BE the Label, explain to us the partnership that you have with Women One. So Women one is a nonprofit organization who so back backtracking a little bit, when I started up with Be the Label, I really wanted to have some sort of charitable aspect and so that was something that I'd driven home with the team since day one. And so we partnered with Women One because what they're doing is amazing. All of or not I shouldn't say all of three percent of our proceeds or sales go to There's a couple different sides to this. You can sponsor a family over in Africa. They're also building what's called the center of Worth for women to go to there that need resources they need maybe it's more or better education, they need information on their sexual rights, whatever it might be, literacy, and so we're they're building the center of worth where women can go to a safe place to get access and tools to what they truly need. And then also playing into that is a lot of times what people don't realize is when these girls leave their families and their homes. I mean, they're a huge factor of how these families function and survive and and and get things done, whether it's around the home or make money, and so they then also help the families win. The women are gone to better support them as well. So it's love it. There's so much to it, and it's so it's so humbling to Dale who who started when in one she's she's amazing to talk to and to hear her speak on it, it's truly empowering. I've asked her and I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon, but I've asked her if we could potentially do a trip out there to help get involved with this with the Center of Worth. But it's it's something that's really special and I think it's important at least for this brand to give back in some way. Yeah. No, I think that people should follow suit in what you're doing. That if you're going to do something you know that's passionate to you, as far as be the label which has come about, because that's this is a lifestyle for you, this is how you are, this is what you wear, and that comes out in your clothing. But then also you're giving back at the same time to something you're also passionate about. I can't unsee it. I'm like, well, if I'm going to do something, then this is exactly how I need to be doing it as well. And I will say I'm pretty outspoken with like women's rights, inequality and so, and that's just not in the US like that it needs to be everywhere. I think that it needs to be talked about even more and we need to start making a great change. And that education is so important. I mean my mom was a teacher, but education, Yeah, I gotta get them together. So I see how important that can be. And I can see how important, you know, a woman's sexual education is and getting access to all of the right tools and necessities that you need to be successful and carry out in this world. And so that's why I really wanted to focus on a charity that gave back to the women and supported them. You sound like you need to be running for office. I'm like, oh no, no, no, no, no, I mean are their local elections going on in Carlsberg please? So I can't. I couldn't. I don't do politics. Ee, that couldn't bury someone in it. I couldn't do it either. It's like, just give me a picket sign and let me, like, you know, like protests, lobby, do a stand in, sit in something I will say I did. I did the Women's Marching Minnesota a couple of years ago, and I think I had one of the best signs and I still have it to this day. What did it say? Well, so I made two of them. Um okay, you know the sound like you know with opp Yeah, you know. So. One of the sponsors of it was Planned Parenthood, So I did like the logo like you down with PP like Planned Parenthood. And then the other side, which was like tick credit for this one. It had a bunch of glitter on it. It said keep your politics away from my lady bits. Oh that's very cute. I love and you should still have I'm never getting rid of it. I know, I really really like that. Um okay, So I have to keep going because your resume is just beyond Not only do you have baby minnow? Well no, let's just start from the beginning. Not only do you have a fiance in Garrett, now, you have a fur baby with baby Minnow, you have your second child, be the label, and you also have this brand new project that you announced on Bachelor Happy Hour the other week you've got Bachelor Live on stage. Yes, yeah, And I mean just hearing you talking about Bachelor Live on Stage, it sounds like the ultimate experience. Like I'm almost kind of like maybe we should change some of the concept of the show and incorporate a little bit of basslor live on stage in it. I mean you're talking Broadway choreography, music, dating, Becca, Ben. This show will give you everything it's it is, and I think people still kind of question what it's going to be about or what it will look like. It's basically like if you were to buy tickets to a Broadway show, you're getting that. I mean, we have a full set design that changes. We have obviously Ben and I are co hosting together, but you have a full dance crew everything. My favorite part is the costume changes. What the jealousy, Rachel, I'm you're going to make an appearance, let me let me know if you need to ticket some time off you need a subage speak off, Rachel. But um, it's just it's going to be such a fun, interactive thing for the audience because people, I think in vaterination gets so invested in the leads and the contestants, and this is a fun way to bring it to cities. So we're gonna go to sixty six cities. It's gonna be a crazy wild ride because Ben and I are going to be living out of tour buses for sixty six well shows more. It's gonna be a long time. But it's just a way for people to feel like they're part of the Bachelor world. We're gonna have Bachelor Askue dates, We're gonna have the Row ceremonies, but it's also a way for them to interact and feel like they have a say in someone's love life locally. Yeah, I guess I would ask what is the key difference? Because if I'm if I'm a Bachelor nationer just made that up bachel Nation, and I'm like, Okay, i know the season's about to come on. I'm watching the season, but why do I want to go to the show, Like, what's the key difference that's gonna make me get a different experience at Bachelor Live on Stage? Well, I mean, besides watching Ben and I maybe dance, it's so Bachelor Live on Stage. Since we'll be any each city, it's gonna feel like home. People are gonna know the people who are in the show with us. I mean, we are, of course picking the Bachelor contestants from each city. We're picking the contestants to date this guy, so it's like you can watch this love story in your area unfold. There's going to be so many bits of each city incorporated to each individual show that it's really going to feel like, oh, I know this person, or I know this place, or I know what they're talking about. So it's not going to feel so like you so unreachable. And one thing that I love and that I actually will be doing with some of my single friends is nominating them so people can go with and I don't want to give too much away, so we'll have some contestants, but we're also going to be pulling from the audience. So if anyone's friends know that they're going to be one of the contestants or a potential, like you want to go and support them, like, since it's going to be so interactive, like they're going to have a say like I want to hear big friend groups or families in the audience like cheering on their girl or cheering for the bachelor. It's just going to be very hands on and something that you can't do from a TV screen. Yeah, I love that people are going to feel like they're a part of it, you know what I mean, Like you watch it on TV. It's a fantasy, but now you actually have a say in it, you can relate to in it. My god, you might even be in it. You have no idea what you're going to experience exactly, because this is all so new. I know you're excited about it, But are you nervous at all? Yes, I of course. I mean I can't really talk normally, so to do it on the stand. You've been a fantastic girls stop in front of thousands of people is a little nerve wracking. We're talking thousands. I love it. Yeah, it'll be I mean, and I'm sure like stars born. Literally you said thousands and I saw stars for But yes, I'm nervous. But Ben, I think is the perfect person to be doing this with because he I mean, he's been on stage before, he of course has this podcast. He just is so good about making not only me, but everyone around him just feel comfortable and welcome and like like they've known him forever. So he's going to be such a good support system throughout this and watching him interact with fans who I've seen, or even members of the crew who were meeting now for workshops for it, like everyone just I think, feels at home with him and like they've known him forever. So I think it's going to be a great show, but it'll also have like that comfort factor like you hopefully kind of know us. Okay, so you say that Ben is the perfect co host, which I actually agree with you. I think that you two are going to be fantastic together. I know there's some choreography. I like, how is he doing? I mean, the last time I saw Ben dance was when I challenged him at the lip sync battle that beat him? Right, Okay, will you kill them Rachel, you kill bad? No, in all honestly, thank you, But in all honesty, I thought Ben was gonna win when Ben crawled on the floor. So this is why I'm telling you, guys, if you don't know what you're gonna get when it comes to him, Because I know you guys have started choreography already and you're learning the moves, but the actual date is February thirteen, But I'm telling you Ben crawled on his dragged his body on the floor. Well, rachels that probably wasn't the last time you'll see that. I'm just saying, lady, Yeah, it's gonna be a good one. Well, and Ben is such a good sport with everything. You have any holiday traditions that maybe you can Garrett of starting some? I don't know we are going to start some. So we didn't have a tree last year because we were traveling so much. The thing that I love about the holidays I love nutcrackers, like not the physical one in your hand where you eat the food, but like the little men. And so I've been stocking up all year on are you serious? I'm nutcrackers? How many do you have? I have a handful right now. I have given some away as gifts. Okay, so it's not massive. But I did actually meet a woman when I was buying my last couple who had I think three hundred and sixty eight and she's I mean, she's cools. Can I be honest? I think they're horrifying. Do you mean, they kind of are creepy, But but I think they're just so vintage. That's what I like, is like the old kitchy Christmas stuff. Yeah, I just I think it's cool if that's the tradition. I don't think it's three hundred and sixty six or whatever that number was cool, But I just, yeah, there's something about them that just is disturbing to me. Well, you're going to be really disappointed in your holiday gifts that I give you this Well, what I was going to say is, don't give me a nutcracker. I'll take be the label fine, but not for me. But since this year is coming to an end, and we know we started Bachelor Happy Hour this year, and because we're coming to the end of the year, I feel like it's only right and it's very, very fitting that we celebrate the end of twenty nineteen on Bachelor Happy Hour with a fun countdown and revisit the top five OMG moments on the podcast so far. Like, it's hard to limit them to just five because there have been a lot of juicy moments and I know you haven't been there for all of them. But like we had to narrow down to top five. I feel like we should have honorable mentions. I'll try to remember that and then you try to think of some too. But here we go. We're going to start with number five. Number five is Nick. Have you met Nick. I've met him in person once, Okay, very briefly. Okay, So number five is Nick talks about a civil war happening within Bachelor Nation. I feel like there's a civil war brewing amongst Bachelor Nation cast. You get like, I just feel like, here's the thing when the civil war, because I know which side. I'm all, here's the thing, here's the thing, here's the thing the North. Uh like social and it's all social media's fault, um like with like you're like in the middle of it. When when I like on Caitlin's season was kind of the beginning and with them in social media height and then JoJo's season and now it's like we're full blown to social media, and then it's also gotten younger, and then there's like, um like yeah, all the people like the JoJo's and Caitlin's and Tanner and Jade and me, and like you're kind of in that, and then you have like it's like Hannah and uh, Colton started this new wave of cast members, and there's just there's this constant like it's high school and it's like the Sharks and the Jets, just like it's an OLG reference from the West Side story. And everyone's just like everyone's pretending to be friends. Everyone's just going after the same fat fit fund deals and everyone's just like jocking for position and everyone's just kind of talking shit. It's kind of fun and they're just gonna be this big rivalry. It's like it's like the Marvel Civil War movie, like everyone's kind of friends, like real, kind of like each other. I wish he's around Tier. So Becca, do you think that there's a civil war happening in Bat's or nation? Well, I think that, Uh, that is very extreme. I don't know if i'd call it the civil war. Um. I do see the change, and I feel like I'm kind of in the middle, like Switzerland, where I don't know if I even like play a partner because I feel like I'm not like the og and I'm not like because I'm a little bit older than the past contestant. So I do feel it, though I do see it. I think social media just has such a hand in everything these days that whether it comes to like brand deals and endorsements or people just now feeling like they can say when ever, at whatever point, they also need to realize that that's going to have repercussions. People are going to read and hear, and so I don't know. I feel like in the past, like growing up watching the show, it seems like everyone for the most work got along. There wasn't really any beef, where now there is more. So I just but why do you think that is? Like? Why to me, there doesn't unless someone actually says question someone's character, right, I'm not talking about someone's actions on the show because in so many different forms of you know, they're different media outlets or however you do it through, whether it's an interview, a podcast, sitting on a TV show, we all give our opinions about what we're actually seeing on the show, and that's really all you can do because we're not producers and we're not behind the scenes. So unless someone is saying something where you're attacking someone's character who they are as a person, I don't understand the need for there to even be a civil war or for people to be fighting with each other. I agree, and I think the main thing that it comes down to is just age. To be honest, the show is skewing younger. Now we're getting older, and so I think there's just that disconnect where again and yelled at me the last time I was on your podcast, as I said, I felt kind of like a grandma yea, And I yelled at you because if you're her grandma, I'm dead no. But but I do see the age thing, and I think I think when you come from the show, you know, especially if I would have been I could have never done the show any younger. I was twenty seven when I first started on the Bachelor season. I was not ready or in the right mindset when I was younger, and I think a lot of them are now younger. There's still a lot of growth and growing up to do. And when you're forced into the situation to come out of the show and have like all these amazing things being thrown at you and people thrown at you, and all of these great travel opportunities, it's easy to get lost in the shiningness of it all and to kind of feel like you're on top of the world. You're invincible, you can say whatever, do whatever, And so I think it just comes down to age. Yeah, I think age has I think age has a lot to do with it. And because of age, it's more of people are people care about and are motivated by completely different things than maybe the ogs are. Totally Yeah, and I've seen it. I mean, I came off of my show, well not my show, so I came off as a bachelor. We've talked about this, and I still stay in touch with some of the girls there, Like some of those girls will be friends for life. Most of them I don't talk to, if I'm being honest, just because our lives went separate ways. And and I feel like now it's more like people come from the show and they're all traveling together and going to these events together and appearances together, and it's all like a very tight knit, close group. From the recent seasons that it kind of like Nick said, it feels like high school. It's kind of clicky. And I don't know if that's going to change, because I think it's just honestly gonna keep growing for a while. It just it well, No, I mean, I think it's interesting that he says civil war because it's like that's that's a battle and at some point it's got to come to a head and blows have to take place. So it was shocking to me when he used the term civil war, because I said, if we're taking this this metaphor that you're using to to exactly for what it is, something is about to happen. Feel Game of Thrones, Are you a lover or fight? I'm a fighter. I'm aral lover. I'm winning. I'm on your team. I feel like we're in a Game of Thrones episode where it's like the North versus King's Land. Who are you on Game of Thrones? I'd be dead, I'm sure you would. For sure we are killing the Night King. Yeah, all of it. You know what. I feel like I could be Brand of Tarth only because she's like like winning Powerman. I'm not a good fighter, but I think I could get scrappy if I had to. Brand got to sleep with Jamie, so I'm all about it. That is true. And I was still a little weird at out with that, only because Brand's gotta get some No, she definitely does. I love her. Jamie. I'm like he grew on me a little bit, But she could have done better. I'm just saying I actually see you as a sansa. Oh really yeah, like people thought they knew her. And then at the end she was like, actually this is what I remember when the show started. Okay, we're getting a home. Actually no, no, you know what I'm tearing because I just like to drink. Okay, that's who I am. I like my wine too much. Okay, Next OMG moment. Next OMG moment is when Jed leaves listeners torn over his explanation of the dock quote unquote and it's meaning in his relationship with Hailey Stevens. What the hard part is to understand is the saying I'll wait for you, meet you at the dock, or I remember what you said, and then thinking that that was and then going and telling Hannah, you know you thought that it was over right, Like, I don't understand. I can't connect those two things, do you know what I mean? And I think a lot of people listening or and I think that same thing. So I want to give you the opportunity to sort of explain that, right. I would really like to touch on the dock and a lot of people will probably not believe this. But if you went to Haley and even asked her, she would tell you the truth on this, I would hope. But the doc is a metaphorical thing for meditation that I taught her. That's what it was. It was not a physical doc, and to the public eye, it's going to look like an actual doc. And when I read that note back, I was like, damn it. That looks like I'm saying, let's meet at this dock. But I practice meditation. I'm passionate about it. It was something that I taught her to do, to go to this docket in her mind and to like sit there and be at peace. And that's what that was. My first takeaway from that is he has very loud gulps. If I just the only one to notice that, I mean, what is your take on Jed, because you know Bachelor Happy our listeners, they've heard my take on it. I actually did google the doc after he said that. I found nothing, not a thing. Is it something that he made up? But he doesn't say he made. I took it as he made and he very well could have. Okay, in his defense, I took it as in meditating. Maybe this is something that people do where he just because he'll threw it out there. Yeah, but I also don't believe anything that comes out of Jed's mouth, So you know, before he even started, there was no doc to me, I think. I mean, if I was Hannah, I would not have continued the relationship. So in that regard, if I was hurt in that situation, I would have ended it as well. I think Jed it kind of reminds me of my ex a little bit, who when we saw him on the show. Yes, okay, unfortunately where he you know, he's more quiet, but he kind of knows what to say to get by, Like his explanation is not great, but he knows how to word it where people could be like okay, I get it. Yeah. I don't meditate, so I don't know. I don't think I have the capacity to like chill enough where I can just like envision something like call me and so I don't see that also though, like I never read this note or saw this note, so I think only Jed knows in his mind in his doc. Yeah, I mean, the whole Jed interview was an OMG moment, Like the whole freaking thing was just it was my biggest regret is that I wasn't here to sit and talk with Jed. I'm so. I'm actually very proud of that interview. We got a lot of flak for it for one way or the other, but I'm proud of it because we were able to talk to him first, We were able to ask ask him in depth questions, and you know, at the end of the day, giving him a fair chance and asking those questions the end of the at the end of the day, I was like, you're full shit still, you know he is. Yeah. I mean his explanation throughout that entire interview, it's like, of course, no one goes on the show. I think at this point, no one's going on the show because they're dead set. Oh my gosh, I'm going to be the one. I'm going to meet my person. That's it. Like, there's so much more to it, and like he said, he went to go to pursue his music career. Did he have feelings along the way? Yes, I watching it back, never felt like it was genuine. I felt like there was there was a lack of emotion there, Like I felt like when they would talk and interact, it was like a kind of a blank wall. Like he would just kind of shut down and be like, Okay, well you said this, so I'm going to respond in this way, or you did this to me, so I'm going to do it this way like he wants. He just knew to go far enough how to keep going. I think like the will will figure out about this whole doc situation. Is if Hailey tells us if it was realer, Yeah, physical I talk to her again? She got enough? Do you talk to her again? Sorry? I don't want to hear from her again. I just think she just got way too much media attention. Yeah, it is what it is, real quick before you move on to the next OMG moment. So if you were on that one on one with Jed and he told you that he came from his music, would you have sent him home? You know, here's what I was actually thinking about that. Um. I think in that moment I would have definitely had a lot of questions. I think I would have played it out a bit more because, as we said, I think you were Ali asked him this, like if that was your like main intention coming on the show, like why did you then keep bringing your guitar? And so I think I would have played it out to see, like, if you're here for me, and of course I know that you play music and you sing grain and whatever, that's one thing. But if I already know that, you don't need to keep doing it, so I would just play it out. Also, I don't know if I don't think Ja's my type, so probably not. Yeah, I would have send him home in two seconds. Yeah, okay, but we all know how that ended and how it worked out, and Hannah is much better off without him and she's doing her thing. Next. Top OMG moment of twenty nineteen, Christina learns that Dean was quote in love with her unquote when they were dating. Let's listen. It's been two years since my time on the beach. I had so much going to do because following Paradise, for that following year, Deana and I actually tried. I'm still seeing each other, so that was a very insightful and very um I learned a lot from that relationship. Dean said he was in love with you on the podcast. I just want to say that on my podcast, we've never said it to each other, and I didn't didn't know. On our podcast, Dean said that he was in love with you. Wow. I'll say it was never verbalized, but the feeling was mutual. I'm calling bullshit on that one. Keep going. I just okay, if you love somebody, you're gonna tell them, and you're not going to use it as a cop out on somebody else's podcast, Like there's what's the point at this point? And even saying that, Well, that's why I believed him, because yes, well, first of all, I'm in love with Christina. I mean, I just love her. See her later tonight. I really am tequilin what is it? Tequelin suits Tequila um. But the reason I believed him is because it did not benefit him to say that at the time was he with Kaylin at this point? When he said that he was with Kaylin, everybody knows that I didn't. When it comes to the whole situation, I have not been team Kaylin. So to make that confession on our podcast and you're currently with Kaylin that could have really been detrimental to his relationship because he didn't have to say it. It wasn't like I said, were you in love with her? I don't think I even asked him that. He just said it, and I was like, WHOA. Definitely Chris did he did he explain why he never told that to her? No, I don't even think we asked. I think Ali and I were both like what, um, Yeah, I think I think he thought it was understood, which yeah, which kind of showed the level of maturity when it comes when it came to their relationship. But it was definitely like an O M G. I mean I literally might have been on my phone like, girl, let me tell you what. Can you just repeat that, I'm going to put my phone on speaker real quick for my girl here. No, but I mean it. I mean it seems assuming they'll still be together in this podcast. I mean, it seems like it didn't hurt Dean's relationship with Klein. But that is why I believed him, because that was a risky thing to say, being in a relationship with someone who we know had a tumultuous relationship with Christina. That's true. That is a good point. I guess I don't know enough of again, because I didn't watch all of Paradise, I don't know enough of what. I didn't watch the season that they were on years ago, so I don't know what the extent of it was, But I just I have a problem. I I know, I season I kept pushing honesty, and so it's like, if you felt that for somebody in the moment, you should have said that and not not to say it was a cop out. Now. I don't know. And maybe he said it because he truly meant it. Maybe he said it because he wanted to appear like more emotional, like he did have that capacity. I'm not sure because I don't really know, Dean. But I just if you, if you feel something that strongly about and loves a big deal, then you shouldn't throw it around lately, and you should tell that person. I will say in the moment. I will say in the moment, he made it seem like he didn't realize he did. It was kind of like, in reflecting back once he lost her, he was like, oh, I really believe I was, you know, I thought I was in love with her at the time it got it seemed more like that, Okay, um, okay, I'm gonna do the next, the next one, the next. Oh. Number two on the list of the top five OMG moments of twenty nineteen, Ari admits the real reason he went to Winner Games was to see Lauren's producer and ask how she was. Okay, I want to talk to you guys about this because Lauren, we've never spoken, but I have spoken about you actually with Ari before I knew it was you. Okay, we want you want to take take us back in time a bit, because the first time I met Ari, it was during we were on the road to Winner Games. Okay, and we had a blast. Okay, it was it not We had so much fun. So we're in the middle of nowhere could have been Iceland from the way the way it was looking, and we had nothing to do but eats me, Ari and Jojo eat and drink, and so we're having such a good time. And so Ari just really started opening up to us and talking to us, and Jojo and I are listening and so this is also our season. Was the first time I got to watch a season and had no um, yeah, tell me names. I don't want to know names. Yes, So it was one and two. That's how we were referring to things. And I'm just listening to him talk about um, the season, and I and Jojo and I look at each other and we we were like, you know, we really think you like that number two, that number two, I think that's who you need to be with. And at the time we didn't know it was you. So it's it's funny that that we knew that and we were holding onto that secret and then come to find out, you guys are it is number two. Number two was the one, and now you guys are happy, you know, married parents. I'm dating number three. So and you don't make it a weird job. It's all right, you know, it's the Bachelor world. That's what we signed up for. Yeah. But I remember like thinking about Winner Games and I was like, oh, you know, if I go to Winter Games, I can probably see Lawrence producer and then maybe like see how she's doing. You know. I was like, that was my whole motivation for actually going to Winter Games. Is it weird to hear that? Yeah? Well, yes, it is my first time of hearing it. Um Where do I begin? Um? Okay. The timeline of everything is very interesting because when Ari and I I mean to me, obviously this is fresh and new. Um. But from how he made it seem the entire time after we got engaged to when he ended things that like his feelings for her were done, the only thing I ever knew that he felt bad about is how things ended, and like for hurting somebody, which I could understand, which is normal, which of course is normal. Like and I and I had even talked to Garrett after our season, like I feel bad for like you don't have enough time to really explain everything to your runner up, And so I totally could empathize in that regard. But everything that he had said when him and I were together was like I'm happy, Like I feel bad about it, but I don't want I don't want a part of that. Like. So, so what I was being told versus what he was really thinking is clearly completely different. Um. You know what I think pisses me off the most is that right before Winter Games, he had me knit a scarf so he could wear it to Winter Games. And that took me a long time so he could wear it and be like, oh yeah, my fiancynit the scarf, And that took me so many hours. That's what I pissed about the show. I don't know, I don't remember that. I wish I would have known about that scarf. That scarf at the time, I didn't know about I didn't know who you were the time at the time he was saying it, you were number one and number two, yeah, and we were just like, my gosh, you just kind of need to nip this in the bud because this is this does not sound okay. Well, I mean know, like I think it's obviously he loved Lauren, like he cared about her. He should have been much more upfront about that. But I had said since day one, when I knew he was struggling with like that guilt, I was like, why don't you reach out to her? I was always the one I remember. Yeah, So it's not like he needed to go and see this producer and ask how she was doing. I had told him right away, like you should. If you need to get that guilt off your chest, you should do it. Yeah. So it was never that was never the issue. So I think like for him to say, oh, I just wanted to check in on her, like you could have done that on your own. Yeah, he clearly had aleteria motives, which we all know how that story ends. So moving on, moving on, good riddance, all right. Moving on to number one, Blake calls out Kaylin for her confusing Timeline says they were talking for months, but while they were talking, she was still quote heartbroken over Colton unquote for after the final rows and interviewing to be the bachelorette. And let's hear that I was with Colton and he was head FaceTime to Cassie. Give me months because I don't think the timelines add up, so I want to like put every Yeah, this was roughly so the first time I ever like it was on the FaceTime was the like, roughly mid December, the exact day, December twenty eighteen, you guys, let's go. Um. So, yeah, so we had I was just with Colton FaceTime Cassie and I was with him, and of course you know Kayln Cassie our best friends. She popped in and I said hi. You know, it was one of those Colton's like Colton did he like set us up? It was one of those it was like you should have his number ball at that kind of thing. Started talking. Um talked to Hill about mid March. I want to say March eighth is when it was kind of like we didn't really talk, but we we had talked to Hill about mid March, but it wasn't like it was very sporadically to find talking because to her, its facetiming three times a day. We definitely didn't FaceTime three times a day. We did FaceTime, we did, but it was definitely not three times a day. And we did it. How much was it? Um? I want to we facetimes twelve times? Probably total in that like, what was that four months? Say? Twelve fifteen times? Yeah? Okay, yeah, and you seemed confused, Ali, because that is not what Kaylin said. Yeah, that's not that is not what she said. Yeah, twelve fifteen times through the three months that we talked to Can we get your phone records? I'm learning from chel I want the facts. Yeah, um, I guess within that, and I'm trying to establish a timeline because, like Ali said, this is where things get sticky. Did you watch Women Tell All on Colton Season? I did, and that's filmed about February, yep, towards the end of February, and you guys were still communicating at this point. You get why I'm asking that question. You watched it, right, and what we saw was how emotional Kaylin was about Colton and how the love that she had for him, and how heartbroken she was, and she was crying and if as a viewer you felt that. But according to what both of you guys are saying, even Kaylin says she had talked to you for a few months before Stage Coach. So it's confusing as to why you have such Kaylin had such tears and talking about Colton and how and it seemed very present tense. But in the meantime she's talking to you and has some sort of connection. You know, for her, it seems like maybe it was deeper, but for you it was more of like something casual getting to know each other. What was What were your thoughts when you watched Women Tell All and you saw that? Yeah, so, and yeah, I think you even kind of saw it on Colton's face a little bit. I think he was kind of like taken aback by the way because he knew that we were talking. I think you kind of saw on Colton's face too, he was kind of like, wait a minute, din't they lived together at that point? Didn't Cassie, Kaylin and Colton all lived together? Yeah? Basically I think yeah, yeah, yeah, I just don't think that they had cast at the Bachelorette at that point. Now that's very correct. Yes, So I feel like I've said a lot when it comes to the Kaylin situation, So I'm very curious as to your thoughts and opinions on it. Yes, maybe maybe I'll chime him. So this it's a sticky situation because obviously I don't think anyone's going to know the full truth. We're going to hear both sides of both Kaylin and Blake's story. I will say this though, you know, I'm not close with Blake anymore. Obviously got to know him on the show. He though, I think he's a pretty honest dude. I think he tells the truth. He dealt with a lot, and I don't think I don't think his timeline is inaccurate. I think what he's saying really was pretty factual. Again, I don't know full details, but I think, like just I know Blake a little bit better than Kaitlin because obviously I spent two months with him. I think he's not a sky and I don't think he was put through the wringer. But I think that everything he's saying in the timelines really do add up. Um. I think what they both went through was really crappy. I mean, I I don't envy either of them. Also, I don't think I would ever want to do paradise after everything. You could not pay me enough to ever do that. But um, I have to say I think I believe Blake a little bit more in this regard. Um. Granted, I didn't read all of the text messages that were released because they were deleted. You probably well. And also so when this all went down, Garrett and I were in Bali and my phone I was like thirteen hours ahead of back here, So my phone phone was blowing up from people being like, oh my god, can you believe what's going down? Guess what's happening? And I had no idea. I'm like, I'm just trying to sip a bean a clot and like get a sun tan over here. Um. So it wasn't until I came back that I started up on some of it. But yeah, I mean, when you're in talks for the bad surette it. It's not that quick. I mean, like you have some time to think about it. And I'm sure she had time to chat with him, but leave her options open. So I think my take on it, and I'm probably going to get a lot of backlash for this is that like what Blake said went like it probably was more of a not an open relationship, but a much more chill like let's see what happens like nothing serious. Yeah, I don't think that you should. Well, thank you for sharing your opinion. I don't think you should get flak for it. I think you're being honest, which is what you do. Like when you podcast or you're you know, analyzing the show. You look at what you're being shown. Sometimes you have outside variables like the text messages or all this drama surrounding their situation, and you give your opinion on it. I don't think that there's anything wrong with that, And I think that you know, as long as you have a reason for believing that, that's fine. Just like you're open for someone disagreeing with what you say. I think the hardest thing is when doing this and giving an opinion. When it comes to women giving opinions about women, a lot of times the negative is, oh, my goodness, you're not empowering women, and it's like, no, I'm not empowering bad behavior. It is nothing against I'm saying I can't stand her as a woman. I'm just not agreeing with the behavior. That was exhibited by this woman, and there is such a difference in that. And like you said from the very beginning, we will never know the truth. We weren't there, we weren't involved with it. But it looks bad on both ends. I've said what I said on prior podcasts and I mean them, and I mean it seems like everybody is doing just fine now and hopefully they leave all that energy in twenty nineteen and in twenty twenty they can move on with their lives, do their own thing and we don't have to talk about it. Yeah. I just wanted to say right now, starting twenty twenty, no one should go to Stagecoach and no one should talk to each other before Paradise unless Stagecoach pays you.
