00:00:06 Speaker 1: Hello, my loves. 00:00:07 Speaker 2: I'm so excited because we have my bff Jenna Willis on the Boner today. I know my brother's there, but if we're not getting any we might as well to talk. 00:00:22 Speaker 1: About it, you know what. 00:00:23 Speaker 2: I support the cause I know so a lot of people wrote in. I talked about this on the regular episode which you guys can listen to that just dropped on Wednesday last week regular Old episode where we got to know a little bit more about you. But I told you my the responses when I do a Q and A with you, they blow up every time, and sometimes I think I'm like, I've had her on like two or three other times, like we probably every time it is flooded. 00:00:50 Speaker 3: It makes me so so happy that people want to prioritize their health my dating life. 00:00:57 Speaker 2: Well, we got more responses than like the Q and A when I asked about Jacks. 00:01:03 Speaker 1: Or Schwartze Stop. It's because so happy. 00:01:06 Speaker 2: It's because people really they want to know what to do. 00:01:10 Speaker 3: Yeah. I also think there's just so much bs out there and I and I totally do not fall into that. And hopefully that's part of the reason why you know that people are like, oh, I know, I feel. 00:01:23 Speaker 4: Like you're you're authentic, and that's why you get flooded with questions because of it's a real yes, yes. 00:01:32 Speaker 1: Looking about that, Like trends. 00:01:34 Speaker 2: What are the top trends that are happening in twenty twenty five in fitness? And one of them that really stuck out to me because you got my mom some. 00:01:42 Speaker 3: Of these uh huh. 00:01:44 Speaker 2: Instead of working out, people are buying like a fitbit or an Apple Watch and then attaching like ankle. 00:01:54 Speaker 5: Weights and wrist weights, and they. 00:01:56 Speaker 2: Consider that to kind of be their workout and they make sure on their Apple Watch or whatever device, yeah, that. 00:02:02 Speaker 1: They're hitting ten thousand steps a day. 00:02:04 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:02:05 Speaker 2: Is this something that if you were to do five days a week, Let's say you go to your job and you do that, Yeah, that you would notice your body change. 00:02:14 Speaker 4: Let me add one thing, sure, would you have to have a diet that would to see change? 00:02:20 Speaker 3: All great questions. So it obviously depends on where you're at in your fitness journey. It also depends on your age and your activity level prior to doing something like this. And yeah, your diet. Now, if someone's putting in ten thousand steps a day, I'll never knock it because it's great. What I will say is women, which is my specialty. Sorry Euston, you're good, But I do have a niche, which is that women over the age of thirty start to lose two to three percent of their muscle mass. Oh god, right, and that continues to cumulate over time. So just walking is going to do that, okay, And there's two ways to maintain that, right, is eating enough protein and strength training. 00:03:09 Speaker 1: Okay. 00:03:10 Speaker 3: Men don't have that issue like women do. And it's something that's real that we have to fight. That's why osteoporosis is so prominent and women, as we get older, we are fighting it, right. Yeah, So I think it's I think it's amazing. I think it's great. Adding weights wonderful. My mom is the cutest human human in the world and doesn't go anywhere without putting on her ankle weights. It's become a running joke. And they're not like the cute new ones that everyone like that. 00:03:37 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:03:37 Speaker 3: Yeah, they're literally like nineteen eighty steal like we went we went to the hospital when we were back in Jersey and she wore them and the security kept going off and no one could figure out why. And I was like, Mom, you're a double. 00:03:57 Speaker 1: Ankle monitor arm. 00:03:58 Speaker 3: She's supposed to leave the she wears them on the airplane. It does. It add a little bit of strength, of course, right right, it does for sure. And if you're putting them on your wrists and you're curling and overhead pressing while you're getting those steps, like, all kudos to you, But I really believe proper strength training is what. 00:04:18 Speaker 1: You need to make strength weight some weight involved. Wait, like what we do? 00:04:24 Speaker 5: Yeah exactly. 00:04:26 Speaker 2: I posted a video just kind of our routine which it it changes each day such. 00:04:32 Speaker 5: A full body, some days are leg upper body. 00:04:35 Speaker 3: Depends on how many sessions we get in a week. 00:04:38 Speaker 1: Correct, That's how. 00:04:38 Speaker 3: We change the workout plan, which is so important. 00:04:40 Speaker 2: By the way, I really wish that we could lock in a four day a week schedule. And I don't know why I'm finding it so hard to do that, but that is going to be my goal. I love that come next month. I would love even and if it means that I have to wake my ass up at earlier that I would like to. 00:05:05 Speaker 4: Like work out at seven to eight and then you can take obo mm hmmmmm hmm. 00:05:09 Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to have to happen. 00:05:11 Speaker 2: Tasha one eighty seven wants to know pre natal workouts for plus size pregnant mamas. I'm fourteen weeks and two hundred and twenty eight pounds. 00:05:20 Speaker 3: How oh I love that first of all, Tasha. Right, yes, Tasha, I want to give you credit for wanting to start exercising now, because I know it's not easy and it probably feels harder than ever. Right now, Uh, start simple, don't get overwhelmed. Keep it to basic movements, so as easy as grab a side of resistance bands and some dumbels. I'm literally going to give you a workout right now, girl. We can start off with some lateral bandwalks. Right, we do this a lot for our warm up band right around those ankles, feet facing forwards, side stepping yeah, standing totally. 00:05:57 Speaker 5: Straight up yeah. 00:05:57 Speaker 3: Slight bend in your knees though, Oh you want to do a slipped I make you do a slip bend. 00:06:02 Speaker 4: Well. 00:06:02 Speaker 2: Sometimes sometimes you lock themround when she isn't looking on. 00:06:14 Speaker 3: Some bird dogs wonderful on all fours pregnancy. These are all by the way, pregnancy, say dogs on all fours. 00:06:22 Speaker 1: I probably don't. You're good, give me a way Okay, what is that? 00:06:31 Speaker 3: No cleeping here, I'll let you know. If you don't feel stable, start with just legs. Drive that one heel back all the way to the wall behind you, driving through your heel, and you can opposite arm as well. Oh yeah, yeah, you're standing opposite arm, opposite leg alternating. You can do some good old fashion. If you're afraid to do regular squats, which I totally get, start with squat to squat to chair, so art seated on the chair, stand up and then sit back down into the chair to give yourself the extra support. 00:07:05 Speaker 1: With that. 00:07:06 Speaker 2: I want to say, keep your weight in your heels because if you don't, you'll notice pressure in your knees. And if you're feeling pressure in your knees, it's because you need to drop that weight into your heels and then you'll fill it in your booty. 00:07:19 Speaker 1: Just say. 00:07:22 Speaker 3: Yeah, oh my god, I can't remember the news. 00:07:25 Speaker 2: Of the workouts for the life of ye. 00:07:28 Speaker 3: I'm going to give you like three more exercises so you have a full body workout girl. Okay, and anyone else who wants a pregnancy safe at workout do this routine because it's really straightforward. It's really simple. Another one is banded wallwalks into wall push ups. So take a resistance band around your wrists, lean into a wall. You can do a walk up a walk down that's going to target your triceps and your lats. Okay, that under armpit area that we all love to work right, and then go into a push up into the wall and push away love. And then you can go with some simple bicep curls to an overhead press stabilizing and finish off with either a seated banded row so you could take a long band, put it around those feet and pull, or you can literally lock and load into a door and do some banded polls right there standing. Full body workout, girl, I got. 00:08:16 Speaker 1: You full body workout at home? Yeah, at home? 00:08:19 Speaker 3: Ten or twelve reps, three rounds. If you're feeling like you got the energy. 00:08:22 Speaker 2: Mace, thank you, Jenna Willis, Mace under Hunter. Six thoughts on fascia blasting tools. 00:08:31 Speaker 3: I think they're great. Crazy you guys ready for this? What do you think of cupping? 00:08:36 Speaker 2: So? I have a masseuse who does cupping in a different kind of way. I'm not getting sure that it's cupping where she takes the cup from the top, like is this your tracing and the traces and polls where it's there is. 00:08:52 Speaker 3: No scientific evidence that actually backs cupping, but I just like none because it feels good. I get that. I don't know it's this whole thing that it does all this for your muscles. There is zero scientific backing on it. However, I think foam rolling is incredible. Dynamic warm ups absolutely amazing, literally taking a lacrosse ball, putting it into literally your chest, leaning against a wall, massages, all of that are incredible because what fascia is literally connective tissue, and it either gets tight or sticky sticky, icky icky. Okay, so the whole idea is to alleviate that, and I any tool that helps alleviate it also can temporarily help with cellulate oh uh huh, but doesn't permanently do it. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Okay. So there's lots of benefits for fashion blasting. I think it's incredible, but I think the cheapest and easiest one is foam rolling. 00:09:46 Speaker 1: Foam rolling you can literally get one at. 00:09:48 Speaker 5: TJ Max for like twelve dollars. 00:09:50 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:09:50 Speaker 2: I know this because that's where I got mine. Stark Underscore Girls zero one best workouts to target your pelvic and strengthen it. 00:10:00 Speaker 1: Need to keep her grip tight. 00:10:02 Speaker 3: We don't want any liqu lique. You want to take this one? 00:10:12 Speaker 1: I know? 00:10:15 Speaker 3: Yeah, so okay, so there's I mean, honestly, the most simple thing you could do is through your day, three to five times a day, squeeze it. Squeeze right and imagine almost like sucking up a straw. I'm doing it right now, can you tell? Yeah, actually use a straw. But I'm saying like that tomorrow morning I lost it. 00:10:38 Speaker 1: Okay? And then how so three to five times a day, how many. 00:10:41 Speaker 3: Hould it for five seconds? Ten reps? That is the most simple. Now, if you want to get a little more complex with it, you can, of course, you can do a simple workout from literally squats, but focusing on pulling up right as you're standing up, connecting with your breath. So squats are very simple, very straightforward. Glute bridges is a great one. 00:11:02 Speaker 2: Are the glute bridges where you lay on your back and lift your butt up yep, with your legs at the ninety degree yep, exactly. 00:11:10 Speaker 3: Heel taps are a great one. We do these a lot, especially all through your pregnancy on our back right, and feet at ninety degrees and tapping one heel at a time. 00:11:20 Speaker 1: Oh, I love the yep. 00:11:21 Speaker 3: Those are incredible. Those are so good and honestly pelvic tilts, so standing feet shoulder with a part driving your hips back and as you drive your hips back, imagine that straw and then bringing it forwards. Okay, those are all great to work that area. 00:11:38 Speaker 2: I fla mace underscore. Hunter also wants to know drinking. I don't know if it's Celtic or Celtic, the Boston Celtic. 00:11:47 Speaker 3: It's Celtic, Bossy Celtics. 00:11:48 Speaker 2: Yeah, the Celtic, Celtic Sea salt water in the morning, yeah, your name. 00:11:52 Speaker 3: Okay, So let's get real with this, right, what are benefits? What it's mineral water, sea salt, so there's there are traces and minerals of course, right, So there's magnesium, there's potassium, there's calcium in it, and there's sodium. Electrolytes, right, so there are some benefits, right, because we do want to have electrolytes in our system because they can help hydrate us if we raise our stomach acid a little bit, right, it can also help with digestion. Does it need to be Celtic and spend extra money on it? No, Girl'll take a few Like, take a little bit of sea salt. Throw it in your water. That's my honest answer. 00:12:27 Speaker 1: I like it. 00:12:28 Speaker 3: I like everybody has some sea salt, right, throw it in your water. But you can also overdo it, so be careful if you want to keep that balance. Yeah, just like a little pinch and that's just in day. Yeah, if you're hydrated, you could throw a little, you know as salt, a little salt in there. 00:12:45 Speaker 4: I thought salt dehydrate you. 00:12:46 Speaker 3: I know. It's kind of confusing, isn't it. So you want to have about I think it's like twenty three hundred milligrams of sodium a day. Right, that's like the copridge you might be especially with all the fast food you eat. 00:12:57 Speaker 1: Oh Lord, have mercy. Let's not even go there. 00:13:01 Speaker 2: Yes, pay underscore post underscore notes where to start with workouts four months postpartum? Could she do the same type of workouts start with the girls fourteen weeks? 00:13:15 Speaker 3: Yeah. So the only thing that I'll say with you know, something like that obviously be cleared by a doctor. The most important thing is to be able to activate your core while doing exercises and still being able to breathe. That is the most important thing that you want to be reminded of when doing any exercise postpartum because of you know, ab separation and all of that. The two finger rule being sure that your your core is engaged with all movements. Start with less aggressive moves and then you can move into more like jumping right, Like, think about a move like jumping with your feet together safer than going into a wide jump. So kind of test your limit and make sure there's no leaking or any sort of pain that you're going through, and then you can progress from there. 00:14:01 Speaker 2: Honestly, I think the easiest thing to do if you're just starting. You guys are gonna think I'm crazy getting a shake way and getting band. 00:14:10 Speaker 1: The shake way is so freaking. 00:14:12 Speaker 2: Easy to use, so bomb then you have a band that you can literally lay on your back but like till the yes you know, and you could be watching TV instead of watching TV and scrolling on TikTok, lay your ass on the ground and like use the bands to start working out your ass. 00:14:31 Speaker 5: I also love bicycles to start. 00:14:33 Speaker 3: Yeah, well, bicycles are more aggressive really, so start with the heel taps first, because we weren't do it. Remember we weren't doing bicycles. 00:14:41 Speaker 1: I love them so much because I. 00:14:42 Speaker 3: Know you get there and I'm like, ah, by the way, now you can, right, So start with either dead bugs or some heel taps, which we talked about dead l again. That's remember when you have to use your brain opposite opposite armor. Everyone always starts like this and they take a second, they're like, hold on, what am I doing? Like you're like and the you have to do. 00:14:59 Speaker 4: All and then you right on. 00:15:04 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah exactly. 00:15:05 Speaker 3: So yeah, if that's also talking about a mental. 00:15:10 Speaker 2: Like that, but also balancing. I can't balance sitting down or standing up for. 00:15:16 Speaker 5: Real, It's so hard. 00:15:17 Speaker 4: Got a bit of vertigo. 00:15:20 Speaker 2: Maybe Kelbums wants to know what are her secrets for getting the proper amount of protein? 00:15:26 Speaker 3: Can I say one more thing to go back on like the sea salt? 00:15:29 Speaker 1: Yeah, totally. 00:15:30 Speaker 3: I don't know what claims it's making, is my honest answer. I'm not an expert in that. I just what I will say is like, it's it's not going to add years to your life, Like there's no scientific backing right that you're going to live longer, that you're gonna fight disease, or right that it's going to boost your metabolism. I just want to clear that because that will drive me crazy if I didn't. Okay, sorry, Okay, that's fine, keep going. I had to just share that. What are your secrets for getting the proper amount of protein? 00:15:57 Speaker 1: I want wants to know? 00:16:00 Speaker 3: I love this. Wait who asked? 00:16:01 Speaker 1: Her? Name's kel Bim, kel BIMs. 00:16:05 Speaker 3: Let's get you leaned and toned, babaite. Okay, So we want to focus on about a grammar protein per pound we weigh if we want to maintain right, which is kind of what I work on. I don't. I don't focus on bulking as much Easton. But although you're not trying to bulk right, I mean honestly now working out, But. 00:16:25 Speaker 4: I need to get into the gym with you guys, and I am holding firm a right to this, and I want to put on more weight as I'm doing it. 00:16:36 Speaker 1: So what I do like. 00:16:38 Speaker 3: You would do more? So like two, you could go one point five to start, okay, because it might feel overwhelming to you at first, So you know this is the reality. Five ounces of chicken breast? How much protein you think that has? Just take a guess? 00:16:50 Speaker 4: Five pounds of. 00:16:51 Speaker 3: No, five ounces? 00:16:52 Speaker 2: Oh? 00:16:53 Speaker 3: How much do you think? How much protein? 00:16:55 Speaker 1: Five ounces in a chicken breast? What would do you do? Maybe like gauged by grams? 00:17:00 Speaker 4: Eight grams of protein? 00:17:03 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:17:03 Speaker 1: Right? 00:17:03 Speaker 3: Okay? Five you guys ready for this? What about forty grams of protein? 00:17:07 Speaker 4: Shit? 00:17:07 Speaker 1: Fuck? 00:17:08 Speaker 3: Sorry about a pound per sorry, I'm sorry? Gram a gramper pound you weigh? 00:17:16 Speaker 1: A gramper pound you weigh? 00:17:18 Speaker 3: Okay? 00:17:18 Speaker 1: What about for people who don't want to eat meat? 00:17:21 Speaker 3: What's your It does get a little bit harder, that's great, So hold on, let meat let me Yeah. So for this something like this, focus on protein four meals? Right, So, for instance, I weigh anywhere from one hundred and ten to one fifteen, depending on time of the month, whatever, Yeah, time of day, eating habits of the day before, right, exactly, so right, So focus on two meals, okay, three meals that are packed with protein and you're already almost there. Then some hardboiled eggs mae mo jerky as a snack okay, right, or or Greek yogurt, but don't go for the sugary Greek yogurt please, sure. 00:18:03 Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe with a little Manu manuka. 00:18:08 Speaker 3: A little manuna. Honey is so good. Money is so great for you, and cheese seeds to help with digestion, fer. 00:18:20 Speaker 1: A little that I don't need. 00:18:21 Speaker 3: That's not as hard as people think. It's really just about putting protein. And and if look, if you aren't a big protein goer, and hopefully you eat fish, because I think five ounces of salmon is about thirty grams of protein, so you can still get it that way. If you don't eat any meat at all, it is a little more challenging. Protein shakes beans because that I love beans, but pencil beans don't have as many not compared to chicken or something about like black beans. Great question. So you know it's funny. Almond butter is incredible for you, good fats, right, yeah, so good for you. But you can also you're also packing on a ton of fat when you're taking that in, So like something like peeb two or like peebe fit. 00:19:06 Speaker 2: Right, peanut butter, it's basically it's basically. 00:19:11 Speaker 3: Like peanut butter that has taken out half the fat. Oh yeah, so you can add them into your protein shakes. That's a great way to get a little boost of protein. Seeds, really good beans, you know, balanced amounts of tofu. I hate to say that because you know I love I love. 00:19:32 Speaker 1: To hold on. I hate peanut butter. IS hate peanut butter. 00:19:37 Speaker 4: I love peanut butter. I don't love like a peanut butter shake. I don't like I can do a peanut butter jelly sandwich. I don't like peanut butter flavoring. 00:19:45 Speaker 1: Peanut butter and banana me too. Here. 00:19:49 Speaker 3: I still remember the peanut butter like banana shakes that we got in Utah after our work. 00:19:53 Speaker 1: Those are great. 00:19:54 Speaker 3: It's not so good, but I still remember those. 00:19:59 Speaker 1: Yes, crazy, go to sports mall or something. 00:20:03 Speaker 4: Is there different though? Is there an alternative that is really good in protein and fat that is not peanut butter? 00:20:10 Speaker 3: I might be the only A different nut butter like a pistachio. 00:20:14 Speaker 1: Is that I love? 00:20:15 Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't like almonds either because almond butter just don't like your peanut butter is also like it's so thick. 00:20:25 Speaker 1: They're both healthier than I'm going to start. 00:20:27 Speaker 2: That then, Laura but Toto's wants to know, how do you battle bloat? 00:20:32 Speaker 4: Ooh? 00:20:33 Speaker 3: I like that okay, so let's talk about what causes bloating. Right, let's talk about like things that cause bloating. And you're gonna hate this. I hate it too, you know the first one. And she's carbonated water that I know. I know, By the way, I'm not by the way, I'm not going to say that I live here and don't do these things. I'm just telling you what happens. Yeah, Like I love sparkle. I go to your house. I probably owe la la eighty cases of sparks. 00:20:55 Speaker 2: Did you get on that? Is that why my stomach? Sometimes I'm like, oh, hi, what is happening? 00:21:01 Speaker 4: Seven you have in a day? 00:21:03 Speaker 3: So that's what now, you know? By the way, way, yea cheese, you said cheese. Cheese can get fermented in our tummies. So love cheese with cheese and inflammation walking around like what's wrong? What's happened? 00:21:18 Speaker 2: Literally, I don't have sparkling water to wash down the gota cheese. 00:21:23 Speaker 3: I constantly bloated and gassy and can't figure out you wiliest plain. 00:21:30 Speaker 1: I don't even. 00:21:31 Speaker 3: Care, by the way, though, just good to know now if you're like, oh, I have a shoot or something, or I'm going to be in my bathing suit tomorrow. I don't want to feel this way. Let's just say right a few other things. Slow down, you're eating, chew your food. It makes such a difference. I'm serious, me, I know that. But life is so busy now, It's so freaking busy that we just shovel food in our face and walk away. And I'm like, why am I bloated? It's because you didn't chew your food? Genuinely, Yeah that. 00:21:57 Speaker 4: When I was working painting, guys, we would have to shovel food and then after I'd be painting, Like why. 00:22:02 Speaker 1: Do I feel like? 00:22:03 Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys ready for more? 00:22:09 Speaker 1: Yeah? 00:22:12 Speaker 3: No, like sugary drinks. And another one is you guys ready for this? Like sugar alcohol, so processed sugars, so any food like literally gum like wines, you guys ready for Like yeah no no, no sugar alcohol so like fake sugars. Processed foods are like so much higher to cause bloating. Then, well that's why. That's like when everyone's like what should I eat, I'm like, eat whole foods, like real ingredients from the earth. You are, That is the best way. 00:22:42 Speaker 4: My favorite snack right now is the welches like gummy things. How bad are those for me? 00:22:47 Speaker 3: We don't even have to talk about that. I'm going to talk about how to help prevent the bloating after you eat those. Okay, if you're ready for this, okay, so here a few things you guys ready for this. Fennel seeds. 00:22:57 Speaker 1: Fennel seeds. 00:22:59 Speaker 3: I ate you on fennels. It's regularly, but it is something that helps. 00:23:02 Speaker 4: Put it on, like water and chug the water with lemon water. 00:23:06 Speaker 3: Lemon water is good for digestion, it is. But no, you know what is though, is like you were talking about yogurt before, so probiotics but natural. Right, so we're talking like key for yogurt. We're talking about you know, it's so good that I love. What is pickled foods like sour. 00:23:28 Speaker 4: Yeah, they've got a pickled drink at what's it called now? 00:23:34 Speaker 1: No, it's the chicken, you know. No, I think it's can you know? 00:23:38 Speaker 3: I see you cutting up to what I need to try that, by the way, just try that at some point, just to they. 00:23:44 Speaker 4: Have the whole thing menu of deal. 00:23:46 Speaker 3: Pickle something you guys all love both of this. Cucumbers great for bloating, help with bloating love this pineapple, I know, and avocado because it's really fotassium. 00:24:00 Speaker 1: You want know who has the healthiest diet in our household? Right now? 00:24:03 Speaker 3: I was going to say, yeah, no, so yeah, what. 00:24:08 Speaker 1: Is taking down like the cleanest of ingredients. 00:24:11 Speaker 2: I've been having a meltdown because she's got full meatballs in her mouth.
