<v Speaker 2>we look ahead to the Crown Jewel event that is
<v Speaker 2>taking place in November, third number second, something around there,
<v Speaker 2>and yeah, belove it or hate it, that's the next
<v Speaker 2>pl E. We'll get through it and then we'll get
<v Speaker 2>back to the pls that we all love and starting
<v Speaker 2>with Survivors Series at the end, very tail ended over.
<v Speaker 2>I believe it's the thirtieth. So before we get into that, though,
<v Speaker 2>there's news that has just come out, and this is
<v Speaker 2>from several Wrestling Credible Wrestling sources on Twitter and other websites,
<v Speaker 2>that The Rock has said that he is not going
<v Speaker 2>to be able to make WrestleMania forty one this year. Now,
<v Speaker 2>Dave Meltzer, for whatever stock you put into him, does
<v Speaker 2>say the opposite that he will be at WrestleMania forty one,
<v Speaker 2>I think, and I hope that this is just a
<v Speaker 2>ruse this. If this is true, now, let's for a
<v Speaker 2>moment pretend The Rock isn't going to be at WrestleMania
<v Speaker 2>forty one and what we're hearing is true. Okay, let's
<v Speaker 2>just go that road first. If that's true, that means
<v Speaker 2>that they're going to get out of the way the
<v Speaker 2>Rock and Cody Roads. Probably that's a Robbers series or rumble.
<v Speaker 2>They're going to get rid of that event, and it's
<v Speaker 2>not going to be a not get rid of it,
<v Speaker 2>but they're going to put it out for us to
<v Speaker 2>see on a non WrestleMania event, and I'm all for that.
<v Speaker 2>I've been for that, even if The Rock isn't able
<v Speaker 2>to make WrestleMania forty one. Okay, and does it also
<v Speaker 2>put cold water on my hope for a stone cold
<v Speaker 2>stunner on the Rock? Yeah, kind of. I mean, Austin
<v Speaker 2>stunning the Rock seems to be only a WrestleMania moment
<v Speaker 2>and should have happened last year, no excuses. So if
<v Speaker 2>The Rock isn't able to make it, then okay, Rocks,
<v Speaker 2>pretend he's out of WrestleMania forty one. Where does that
<v Speaker 2>put Cody Rhodes, Where does I put Roman Reigns? Is
<v Speaker 2>gonna face solo? SOAKA for the next five six months?
<v Speaker 2>What happens Randy Orton and Cody? Okay, pretend that happens.
<v Speaker 2>What about what about Roman? Where's he going? You know?
<v Speaker 2>It just throws a wrench into a lot of our
<v Speaker 2>projections forward. And is that necessarily a bad thing?
<v Speaker 3>No?
<v Speaker 2>You know why because the last like four WrestleManias, we've
<v Speaker 2>been able to see the main event eight months out now.
<v Speaker 2>Last year was a conundrum with we don't know what
<v Speaker 2>they're gonna do because of the crowd reaction and the
<v Speaker 2>backlash of the Rock taking Cody's spot and all that.
<v Speaker 2>But for the better part of four years we've been
<v Speaker 2>able to kind of see, Okay, this one's gonna win
<v Speaker 2>the Rumble. This person, yeah, we kind of knew. And
<v Speaker 2>this year it's like, Okay, if the Rock doesn't come
<v Speaker 2>in and he or he's here for just till Rumble
<v Speaker 2>season and then leaves, to me, that doesn't make sense. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>but if that happens, it'll be a big disappointment because otherwise,
<v Speaker 2>what's he doing here? You're presumably here off and on
<v Speaker 2>from now until WrestleMania forty one. And also, how can
<v Speaker 2>you not clear your schedule ahead of time? You've had
<v Speaker 2>how long to talk about this long journey? And we
<v Speaker 2>heard all about it last year that this is going
<v Speaker 2>to be a long term story. We're just getting started
<v Speaker 2>on and on we heard So if the Rock suddenly,
<v Speaker 2>oh his heavy workload? Uh, how many times have we
<v Speaker 2>heard that? Crap? And I say crap. Obviously, the dude
<v Speaker 2>has a zillion projects going on. He is a ultra
<v Speaker 2>busy man. But if this is truly one of your passions,
<v Speaker 2>truly one of the things that you tell us that
<v Speaker 2>you want to do to give back to fans, what
<v Speaker 2>are you doing. I don't want to hear about movies.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to hear about the XFL. You're the
<v Speaker 2>effing Rock, You're Dwayne Johnson. You should be able to
<v Speaker 2>clear your schedule as needed. And it's not like this
<v Speaker 2>just came up. This has been something that you could
<v Speaker 2>have way ahead of time said, hey, I'm clearing these
<v Speaker 2>dates out for wrestling. Everything else takes secondary, takes a
<v Speaker 2>second back seat right in this case. If that's true,
<v Speaker 2>then The Rock, I mean, I'm done hearing about this.
<v Speaker 2>How many WrestleManias have we heard about in the last
<v Speaker 2>five years that The Rock was still took it back.
<v Speaker 2>He was gonna face Roman reigns, but he couldn't. Then
<v Speaker 2>he finally can, and then the fans rejected because it's
<v Speaker 2>Cody's year. And now we're back to wrestle Mata forty one,
<v Speaker 2>and now he can't because oh his workload again. If
<v Speaker 2>this is true, like what the hell? And how many
<v Speaker 2>more WrestleMania chances are we going to get here? The
<v Speaker 2>Rock is not a spring chicken. He's prone to injury,
<v Speaker 2>even in his incredible shape. His age is what it is.
<v Speaker 2>He can't escape the basics of aging, physics, biology are
<v Speaker 2>going to catch up to him. And how many more
<v Speaker 2>times are we gonna be able to say that, Oh,
<v Speaker 2>Roman of Rock could happen this year, Roman of Rock
<v Speaker 2>could happen this year. If this is a scenario in
<v Speaker 2>which we never get Roman Rock, which is very plausible
<v Speaker 2>given how many detours we've taken, and we're starting, we're stopping,
<v Speaker 2>We're gonna do it up Rock schedule, WrestleMania thirty seven,
<v Speaker 2>can't do it? Oh wait, WrestleMania forty oh wait, Ken,
<v Speaker 2>But we're gonna go Cody instead. How many more times
<v Speaker 2>are we going to get this opportunity? The opportunities are
<v Speaker 2>fleeting here, and I feel like I'm back in the
<v Speaker 2>Becky Lynch and Ronda Rowsey story where if you think
<v Speaker 2>back to Ronda's career in WWE, which had its moments.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not a Ronda Rowsey fan, as you know. I
<v Speaker 2>think she was overrated, She had an attitude problem, She's immature,
<v Speaker 2>she had a lot of heat backstage, she at times
<v Speaker 2>was really unlikable as a babyface. All that, but the
<v Speaker 2>fact that we never got a one on one Becky
<v Speaker 2>Lynch Ronda Rowsey matchup, which was supposed to happen in
<v Speaker 2>a Survivors series a number of years ago and was
<v Speaker 2>derailed because of the broken nose by Nia Jacks. But
<v Speaker 2>that led to the main and the infamous image, so
<v Speaker 2>it all kind of worked out. But at the end
<v Speaker 2>of the day, we never got a one on one
<v Speaker 2>Becky in Ronda match never. How is that possible? How
<v Speaker 2>the hell did we never get that? And then when
<v Speaker 2>you finally get it at WrestleMania with thirty thirty four,
<v Speaker 2>thirty five, thirty five, because that was the year before
<v Speaker 2>the beloved silent WrestleMania. We get Charlotte Flair being injected
<v Speaker 2>because Vince McMahon wonded her in the main event for
<v Speaker 2>the first ever women's WrestleMania main event, and she was
<v Speaker 2>strong armed into it when she had no business being
<v Speaker 2>into it, And we get a really kind of a
<v Speaker 2>sloppy finish if you remember, the finish was a kind
<v Speaker 2>of odd, but Becu Lynch wins and yeah, I guess
<v Speaker 2>she faced her, but not one on one. One on
<v Speaker 2>one is a different animal, different animal. So is it
<v Speaker 2>gonna be one of those scenarios where, Okay, you get
<v Speaker 2>Rock Roman. Okay, let's go down the road by the
<v Speaker 2>way of Rock. This is all just a ruse. He's
<v Speaker 2>actually gonna be at WrestleMania forty one, which I think
<v Speaker 2>is a little more plausible. Then you have a situation of, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>this has got to be Rock Roman this year, after
<v Speaker 2>we've been talking about for like six years, this has
<v Speaker 2>got to be the one, right because Cody had Roman
<v Speaker 2>last year, rockets Roman this year, we finally get the
<v Speaker 2>effing dream match, and I feel like Cody is now
<v Speaker 2>playing the role of Charlotte Flair because that's the other
<v Speaker 2>story that's been floating around this week is this is
<v Speaker 2>going to be a triple threat. The idea of a
<v Speaker 2>triple threat of Roman Rock Cody at WrestleMania has been
<v Speaker 2>floated around and again taking the second piece here of
<v Speaker 2>if the Rock is truly doing it and it's just
<v Speaker 2>a red herring in WW is just purposely leaking this
<v Speaker 2>even though it's not true, which is again I think
<v Speaker 2>a little bit more plausible. Then again, I don't want
<v Speaker 2>Cody in it. Rock Roman. As I've said for years,
<v Speaker 2>literally like five six, seven years, Rock Roman does not
<v Speaker 2>and should not have a title on the line. It
<v Speaker 2>would actually detract from the event the match, because it's
<v Speaker 2>not about championships with those two, it's about family, it's
<v Speaker 2>about personal issue. The title would detract from what is
<v Speaker 2>actually important, which is family issues. Who's the true tribal
<v Speaker 2>chief of the family, who's the leader, who who's the demand?
<v Speaker 2>So to speak? That is what that is about. It's
<v Speaker 2>a long term story arc. They could draw back all
<v Speaker 2>the way to Wrestleman. I'm sorry to rumble of twenty fifteen.
<v Speaker 2>With those two, there's a lot they could do, and
<v Speaker 2>I don't think Cody being injected that would be better.
<v Speaker 2>So I wanted to get that off the chest, off
<v Speaker 2>my chest and talk to you guys about it because
<v Speaker 2>it's been something that has been making the rounds this
<v Speaker 2>week and I haven't had a chance to really give
<v Speaker 2>my thoughts on it with the triple threat being on
<v Speaker 2>the table for WrestleMania and now the latest is The
<v Speaker 2>Rock's not even going to be at WrestleMania forty one,
<v Speaker 2>giving you both of my perspectives for both scenarios. So
<v Speaker 2>with that all being said, let's get to your thoughts,
<v Speaker 2>because that's what this is about. As I selfishly take
<v Speaker 2>up time, so let's talk to Freeman. He says Bad
<v Speaker 2>Blood was an incredible pl e ten out of ten,
<v Speaker 2>possibly best of the year, but it had one l
<v Speaker 2>airing flaw. Why wasn't Punk Versus drew the main event
<v Speaker 2>and absolutely deserved that spot. The crowd was on fire,
<v Speaker 2>and the match itself was pure chaos. After something that intense,
<v Speaker 2>where do you go from there? Watching regular matches after
<v Speaker 2>that felt underwhelming in comparison, everything was downhill once it ended. Well, easy,
<v Speaker 2>easy answer, Freeman, and it's the Rock. I had said
<v Speaker 2>prior to this event that if you're going to have
<v Speaker 2>The Rock return. A big clue to that would be
<v Speaker 2>the positioning of that tag team match with Cody and
<v Speaker 2>Roman versus Solo and Jacob Votto, and since that was
<v Speaker 2>the main event, it was a big clue as that
<v Speaker 2>they're going to have a big return at the end
<v Speaker 2>of that, and they did with Jimmy, but it was
<v Speaker 2>overshadowed by The Rock. I mean, people forget Jimmy returned.
<v Speaker 2>It felt very much like Randy returning against Survivory series
<v Speaker 2>and then Punk one up to me immediately after by
<v Speaker 2>returning himself. You know, it kind of felt like that.
<v Speaker 2>It's like, oh yeah, Jimmy return where last Survivor series
<v Speaker 2>were like, oh yeah, Randy returned. We forgot because Punk
<v Speaker 2>one up to him and the Rock won up Jimmy
<v Speaker 2>this year. So that's the reason they wanted to go
<v Speaker 2>off the air with a massive moment, and they got it.
<v Speaker 2>I get why they put the tag team matches the
<v Speaker 2>main event, especially for the Rock surprise, but even that
<v Speaker 2>felt like a low point after watching Drew practically bleed
<v Speaker 2>out in the ring. It's no wonder the crowd fell
<v Speaker 2>fell flat after seeing the cartage and all the drama
<v Speaker 2>and Punk versus Drew. What else could they cheer for.
<v Speaker 2>That match gave us everything they wanted and could have wanted.
<v Speaker 2>We might as well have just gone home, just gone home.
<v Speaker 2>Nothing was going to beat that match. Well, no, nothing
<v Speaker 2>was going to beat that match. It's hard to follow
<v Speaker 2>a match like that. They certainly, you know, a lot
<v Speaker 2>of circles probably do feel that it could have been
<v Speaker 2>and should have been the main event of that show.
<v Speaker 2>The storyline, certainly, I think even superseded Roman and Cody's
<v Speaker 2>storyline with the blood line. They got the better story
<v Speaker 2>they I think easily had the better match. That match
<v Speaker 2>with Drew and Punk was Hey. I wouldn't say go
<v Speaker 2>too far as to say it is match of the
<v Speaker 2>Year candidate, At least in the running it was great.
<v Speaker 2>The storyline, it was excellent, nothing but flowers for both
<v Speaker 2>men after. As for the Crown Jewel Championship, I think
<v Speaker 2>it's a mistake in poorly time. The champion versus Champion
<v Speaker 2>concept sounds exciting in theory, but in practice it feels
<v Speaker 2>like something we is going to struggle to promote. Well,
<v Speaker 2>For one, it ruins the suspense of upcoming title matches.
<v Speaker 2>They tried to make us believe Sammy had a title
<v Speaker 2>had a shot at the ICY title, but the moment
<v Speaker 2>they showed gun Thro on the poster, we all knew
<v Speaker 2>the result. Let's be honest, that lazy photoshop of Sammy
<v Speaker 2>over Guntherro didn't fool anyone. If Sammy had any real
<v Speaker 2>chance of winning, they would have poured more effort into it. Well, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>Sammy's ain. We knew Sammy's ain. We kind of know
<v Speaker 2>what he is. Now. He's the guy that they can
<v Speaker 2>shove into the main event. He'll win the IC or
<v Speaker 2>US title every now and then. We're gonna be sold
<v Speaker 2>the idea that Sammy can do it because he's the
<v Speaker 2>underdog from the underground. He overachieves, he never stops fighting,
<v Speaker 2>he always gets up all the typical tropes and nonsense
<v Speaker 2>that we hear, but he's never going to be the guy.
<v Speaker 2>So matter how much they try to sell it to me,
<v Speaker 2>I don't believe it. They have shown it time and
<v Speaker 2>again and time and again and time and again. Where
<v Speaker 2>they put him in the match, they'll have a good
<v Speaker 2>promo you know, is good for a great match, And
<v Speaker 2>that's kind of where it ends. And then Sam's going
<v Speaker 2>to be kicked back to the upper mid card, which
<v Speaker 2>is exactly what's going to happen here. So, plus, the
<v Speaker 2>matches themselves aren't thrilling. Weren't that thrilling? Nia versus Live
<v Speaker 2>didn't make much sense? Or doesn't. It's Heel versus Heel,
<v Speaker 2>and the crowd won't be behind either of them. And
<v Speaker 2>while Gunther versus Cody will likely be a great match,
<v Speaker 2>it feels like we've seen it before. I'm not sure why,
<v Speaker 2>but it feels like familiar ground. This is going to
<v Speaker 2>be a recurring problem with Crown Jewel. The Crown Duel
<v Speaker 2>Championship brand separation exists for a reason, and now they're
<v Speaker 2>blurring the lines in a way that might backfire. No,
<v Speaker 2>I don't think it's going to backfire because fans are
<v Speaker 2>used to and it almost expect WWE to violate their
<v Speaker 2>own brand rules. I'm a big nerd when it comes
<v Speaker 2>to them adhering to their own rules. They put the
<v Speaker 2>ground rules out and then they say, well, we can
<v Speaker 2>bend them because we made them, and they say, well,
<v Speaker 2>the fans don't care. They just want the best match.
<v Speaker 3>No.
<v Speaker 2>I actually I actually believe that. Sure, best matches are
<v Speaker 2>an argument, but also it undermines your entire premise for
<v Speaker 2>a brand split, I think, which most fans don't care about.
<v Speaker 2>I understand, but I do. Yeah, and Gun through Cody.
<v Speaker 2>Have we seen that before?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>I mean the last time I can remember them having
<v Speaker 2>a Did they have a match prior to the ending
<v Speaker 2>of the World Rumble two years ago? I think they have.

<v Speaker 2>Monday's and with what's basically the post show, but I
<v Speaker 2>like the concept. And after having listened to the raw review,
<v Speaker 2>is Sexy read not a wrestler. I don't watch n XT,
<v Speaker 2>but I knew of her, and I genuinely thought she
<v Speaker 2>was an up and coming star. But by the sounds
<v Speaker 2>of your raw review, she's a singer or celebrity or something.
<v Speaker 2>I find her annoying. In any case, she's just awful. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean she's she's terrible. Of course, everybody everybody, everybody
<v Speaker 2>has got their own taste in music and culture and
<v Speaker 2>all that. But I am not a fan, not a
<v Speaker 2>fan of her presence. I think WWE looks like trash,
<v Speaker 2>and I will say that with a with confidence and
<v Speaker 2>triple down on they look trashy aligning with her because
<v Speaker 2>she is not exactly a I'll leave it at that.
<v Speaker 2>I don't like her music, and that's all. I'll leave
<v Speaker 2>it at that. All right, So not my thing. If
<v Speaker 2>you like sexy red cool, but it feels like it's
<v Speaker 2>way beneath WWE to take pictures with this woman, all right.
<v Speaker 2>And some of you are saying, Oh, it's because she's
<v Speaker 2>black or because she's a woman. No, no, I don't
<v Speaker 2>care if it's a dude. I don't care if Machine
<v Speaker 2>Gun Kelly, which by the way, I do not like.
<v Speaker 2>I think he's kind of in the same category of
<v Speaker 2>just looking like trash. Okay, so machine gun Kelly would
<v Speaker 2>be in the same category for me. This the whole
<v Speaker 2>bodily tattoo and homelessness. Look, I don't like it, all right,
<v Speaker 2>this is my opinion, right, so sure racist claims take
<v Speaker 2>it away. I don't really care, all right, move on,
<v Speaker 2>So we got As every week passes, the words PFR
<v Speaker 2>appearing on the screen are getting more and more obvious,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm curious as to what this is all about.
<v Speaker 2>Hopefully we don't need to wait much longer. I have
<v Speaker 2>no clue, no clue. This is where I hope that
<v Speaker 2>you guys are doing your research. I'm leading on you
<v Speaker 2>guys to make me look good. I don't have a
<v Speaker 2>damn clue, don't know. I really hope we don't get
<v Speaker 2>Cody versus Kevin again. As you may already know, I'm
<v Speaker 2>kind of the guy who only needs to see matches
<v Speaker 2>most matches once. Well, we're probably gonna get it. We're
<v Speaker 2>probably gonna get it, and it's probably gonna happen at
<v Speaker 2>Crown Jewel. There's no chance of Kevin winning. I was
<v Speaker 2>of the belief that he's the least interesting to turn heel,
<v Speaker 2>at least against Cody if he wants to turn heel.
<v Speaker 2>That's fine, but not against Cody because we've been there,
<v Speaker 2>done that. We just saw them compete in a match
<v Speaker 2>at the last Ple. You knew Kevin Owens doesn't have
<v Speaker 2>a chance. He's in the same boat really as Sammy's
<v Speaker 2>Ain his best friend. They're both guys that never are
<v Speaker 2>going to be the top guy. Can compete for top titles,
<v Speaker 2>but are never really there to win them. They're there
<v Speaker 2>to help make the current champion look good, give them
<v Speaker 2>formidable opponents, help them cut good promos, but they're never
<v Speaker 2>the ones to actually take the championship. Sammy and Kevin
<v Speaker 2>are right now in kind of identical spots. But if
<v Speaker 2>you're only one that likes to see matches once, well
<v Speaker 2>you're gonna run out of combinations real quick. Yeah, your
<v Speaker 2>attention span is pretty uh pretty slim. You get you
<v Speaker 2>must get bored pretty quickly, do you know? But all right,
<v Speaker 2>hearing yours you speak, you're the kind of guy that
<v Speaker 2>all about the storylines and slow paced matches and less
<v Speaker 2>of the actual high flying and fast paced stuff. Generally, yes,
<v Speaker 2>but I have to say I don't want that all
<v Speaker 2>the time, just like I don't want the all the time,
<v Speaker 2>all the time, fast pace, one hundred miles an hour,
<v Speaker 2>gymnastics that a lot of the matches are. It's overwhelmingly that.
<v Speaker 2>I like a diverse taste of wrestling. I don't mind
<v Speaker 2>those kinds of matches. And that's why you have cruiserweight divisions.
<v Speaker 2>That's why you had was it was it four to
<v Speaker 2>one live or I can't remember. There's a whole show
<v Speaker 2>dedicated to cruiserweights back in the day that's defunct. Now,
<v Speaker 2>that's why you have main event uh. And that's that
<v Speaker 2>that kind of wrestling absolutely can't exist and should exist.
<v Speaker 2>My point about it is generally I like that wrestling more,
<v Speaker 2>but I don't want it all of the stories and
<v Speaker 2>all the matches that way. That's too much. So I
<v Speaker 2>like kind of a mix, is really what I'm saying.
<v Speaker 2>It's just overwhelming right now, fast paced gymnastics all right. Well,
<v Speaker 2>To be honest, I think I'm the opposite kind of fan.
<v Speaker 2>Don't get me wrong. I think stories are important, and
<v Speaker 2>I like a good story, but I get bored real
<v Speaker 2>quick with the slow paced stuff, not the hell in
<v Speaker 2>a cell type match we've seen Saturday. But I do
<v Speaker 2>prefer some awesome matches with some of wow factor. That
<v Speaker 2>Ricochet brought, for example. But if a slow pace match
<v Speaker 2>has a good build, then really a good storyline. I
<v Speaker 2>do like that as well in that case. Yeah, so
<v Speaker 2>in a way, you and I are kind of in
<v Speaker 2>the same boat where we don't mind it if it's
<v Speaker 2>if it's if the story dictates it. Also, I don't
<v Speaker 2>want guys like Ricochet, and I have no love loss
<v Speaker 2>for him. I think he's I think he acts like
<v Speaker 2>he's fourteen years old. I mean as a person, I
<v Speaker 2>think he's extremely immature. He acts like a child on Twitter,
<v Speaker 2>and he is super sensitive and all this stuff that
<v Speaker 2>you don't want guys in public spaces to be like,
<v Speaker 2>especially if they're representing your company. But my point about
<v Speaker 2>his wrestling style is I don't want Ricochet working like

<v Speaker 2>to have a change of taste, like rather cleanse your
<v Speaker 2>palate is what I'm looking for when it comes to
<v Speaker 2>wrestling match to like going back to back to back.
<v Speaker 2>I don't need every wrestling match with every guy trying
<v Speaker 2>to do the same moves. So if you are like
<v Speaker 2>the Big Show, wrestle like the Big Show, if you're
<v Speaker 2>Nia Jacks wrestle like Nia Jacks, I don't need Nia
<v Speaker 2>Jacks wrestling like Caden Carter. Okay, lastly, if I remember correctly,
<v Speaker 2>I'm sure you once said either you or your wife
<v Speaker 2>was interested in true crime a true crime podcast. Well,
<v Speaker 2>I have a recommendation. If your true crime is your thing,
<v Speaker 2>go check out Crime Monthly presents Evil Uncovered. It's true
<v Speaker 2>a true crime podcast by Bauer Media, and I cannot
<v Speaker 2>recommend it highly enough. The picture for it has the
<v Speaker 2>words crime words, crime presents in red writing, and evil

<v Speaker 3>on a worst day. With college football, the Major League
<v Speaker 3>Baseball playoffs, and not just the Major League Baseball playoffs,
<v Speaker 3>but at the same time you had the Mets, the Yankees,
<v Speaker 3>the Phillies, the Dodgers, the Padres, I mean, some of
<v Speaker 3>the biggest markets in this country all playing at the
<v Speaker 3>same time in addition to college football, and they started
<v Speaker 3>at six PM just a strange start time. But the
<v Speaker 3>Cody Rhodes band on the entrance, I just have to
<v Speaker 3>bring this up, was so bad. That was like, especially
<v Speaker 3>when they started playing his actual song. But the idea
<v Speaker 3>was that the band was going to play along with
<v Speaker 3>the song. It sounded like you gave a bunch of
<v Speaker 3>kids instruments and they were just messing around in the
<v Speaker 3>background and ruining the song and just playing really loudly,
<v Speaker 3>off key and off beat while that song was playing.
<v Speaker 3>It was super weird and like one of the worst
<v Speaker 3>collaborations between a theme song and live musicians you could
<v Speaker 3>ever have. It was just atrocious. It is weird seeing
<v Speaker 3>Roman Russell as a good guy. It's just a weird
<v Speaker 3>thing to see, like the crowd like loving him and
<v Speaker 3>you almost want to see him cheat and it just
<v Speaker 3>doesn't happen. Like it's just I don't know, just kind

<v Speaker 3>Morgan finished Matt was weird, Like the ref's back was
<v Speaker 3>turned when Raquela attacked Rhea, and while she attacked her
<v Speaker 3>in the ring, I think that was a mistake that

<v Speaker 3>along with it for the disqualification, and then afterwards in
<v Speaker 3>the press conference, they're all congratulating live on her victory, everyone,

<v Speaker 2>she's she's championship worthy. Is she one of the greatest

<v Speaker 2>and how good she is in that character, and how
<v Speaker 2>believable she is in that character with Dom has more
<v Speaker 2>than made up for any any weaknesses inside the ring.

<v Speaker 2>weird finish with Racal Rodriguez. I mentioned that on the

<v Speaker 2>made sense in the sense in the sense that they
<v Speaker 2>were trying to give Live and out that it was
<v Speaker 2>a DQ. She didn't actually get pinned, but Raquel clearly

<v Speaker 4>I like wrestling.
<v Speaker 6>Because lately it's been it's been kind of difficult days,
<v Speaker 6>to be honest, not super difficult, like nothing health related,
<v Speaker 6>a little bit, but not, yeah, a little bit. But
<v Speaker 6>what I wanted to talk about is the reason of
<v Speaker 6>why I like wrestling.
<v Speaker 7>And maybe why you.
<v Speaker 3>Like it too.
<v Speaker 6>Why I ask myself that question.
<v Speaker 4>Is exactly because my father.
<v Speaker 7>I've known my father since I don't know, like no,
<v Speaker 7>I've known him for a very long time, since I
<v Speaker 7>was born, and since I was born, my father has
<v Speaker 7>been watching a TV show from the USA.
<v Speaker 4>Actually it's a romantic like like love story that's a
<v Speaker 4>soap soap.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 5>I think it's a soap serie.
<v Speaker 6>In French it's called a live Erla.
<v Speaker 4>And I think in the US it's called Wait a minute, Luxembourg,
<v Speaker 4>Wait a sec.
<v Speaker 6>The Bold and the Beautiful Yeah, The Bold and the Beautiful.
<v Speaker 6>My father's been watching this all his life, basically, and
<v Speaker 6>I've been comparing this to myself watching wrestling, and I
<v Speaker 6>think we do watch it for maybe not the same reason,
<v Speaker 6>but a little bit.
<v Speaker 7>I think there's a sense.
<v Speaker 6>Of comfort watching it because life goes through changes, through
<v Speaker 6>tons of stuff times sometimes good times as well. But
<v Speaker 6>the one constant for him, I think is this series
<v Speaker 6>The Ball that the Beautiful.
<v Speaker 7>And for us wrestling fan we see growing superstars and
<v Speaker 7>we see the show every.
<v Speaker 3>Week, and I think for us it's a sense of.
<v Speaker 6>Comfort when life goes wrong, when life goes good, you know,
<v Speaker 6>you can escape yourself watching the products. And I think
<v Speaker 6>for this sole reason, I like wrestling, and I think it's.
<v Speaker 7>A good thing for people that are struggling in their lives,
<v Speaker 7>for you know, escaping in a good way.
<v Speaker 6>Watching good stories entertainments. So for all of this, thank
<v Speaker 6>you wrestling, and thank you WWE. Just a little bit

<v Speaker 2>Alex. Interesting deep question, one that I'm sure we could
<v Speaker 2>dive into for an entire episode, and I'm sure that
<v Speaker 2>everybody else has their own answers. Yeah, so you are
<v Speaker 2>watching wrestling for an escape. Essentially, it's a constant, it's
<v Speaker 2>a comfort. It's a place in an area in your
<v Speaker 2>brain that you can go that is safe, right, A
<v Speaker 2>familiar place that's safe that you don't have to worry
<v Speaker 2>about any stress, judgment, responsibility. You just watch and enjoy, right.
<v Speaker 2>But I mean that really you could apply to any
<v Speaker 2>form of entertainment that you enjoy, movies, TV shows, video games,
<v Speaker 2>YouTube just generally right or TikTok. However, many hours we
<v Speaker 2>all spend scrolling that thing. So I think those principles
<v Speaker 2>apply to any form of entertainment. I think what is
<v Speaker 2>unique about pro wrestling that fans get drawn to is characters. Now,
<v Speaker 2>characters are in all TV shows, right, That's how you
<v Speaker 2>get drawn in emotionally, But with pro wrestling, it's also
<v Speaker 2>a show that doesn't stop. There's no off season. It's
<v Speaker 2>something that you can constantly see what happens next. There
<v Speaker 2>are very few things in this in this world, with
<v Speaker 2>forms of entertainment that have gone on as long as
<v Speaker 2>pro wrestling. The characters that are the most successful are
<v Speaker 2>also based into reality. You can also what makes it
<v Speaker 2>unique about pro wrestling and what I think draws it
<v Speaker 2>even deeper for wrestling fans than it does for other
<v Speaker 2>forms of entertainment. You can go there live, you can interact,
<v Speaker 2>you can be a part of the show. Whereas a
<v Speaker 2>lot of forms of entertainment we watched, like I said, YouTube, TikTok, movies,
<v Speaker 2>TV shows, you can't go to the studio. You can't
<v Speaker 2>sit in the stands or in the in the production
<v Speaker 2>area and start cheering it. No, it's live, man. You
<v Speaker 2>get to go on a live show and you get
<v Speaker 2>to see these people who are you might be living
<v Speaker 2>vicariously through and you get to interact with all the
<v Speaker 2>different not just live events, but the meet and greets. Right,
<v Speaker 2>you find a character that you relate to and you're
<v Speaker 2>able to actually go see them in person. That's what
<v Speaker 2>makes this unique compared to other forms of entertainment. And
<v Speaker 2>sure you may say, well baseball does that, football does that,
<v Speaker 2>soccer does that? LOL to soccer in the US, I mean,
<v Speaker 2>it's not really a sport here, but you get by
<v Speaker 2>Jeff Rag even golf here. You can go and see
<v Speaker 2>these people before, but it's not year round. There are
<v Speaker 2>seasons for these different types of entertainment. Even with your
<v Speaker 2>favorite TV shows. Sure you can go back and watch
<v Speaker 2>old episodes, but there are seasons you have to wait
<v Speaker 2>like a full year for the next episodes to come out, right,
<v Speaker 2>So wrestling is unique in that way. It also doesn't
<v Speaker 2>have any boundaries. You can have a love story. It's
<v Speaker 2>not defined in just action, right. That's a part of it,
<v Speaker 2>and it's a big part of it, and the wrestling
<v Speaker 2>matches themselves do matter. But it's also drama, like you said,
<v Speaker 2>The Bold and the Beautiful. It's sometimes love stories like
<v Speaker 2>some of the soap operas. You know, women a lot
<v Speaker 2>of women watch. It's action adventure. It can be horror
<v Speaker 2>at times with some of the characters Allah Bray Wyatt
<v Speaker 2>or the Wyat Six, which have kind of gone into
<v Speaker 2>obscurity lately. But it's kind of everything. Very few forms
<v Speaker 2>of entertainment that are successful are everything. It's very difficult
<v Speaker 2>to do because you're serving everyone and no one right.
<v Speaker 2>When you're trying to be everything to everyone or have
<v Speaker 2>everyone find a piece of the show they like, that's
<v Speaker 2>difficult to do to keep that person hanging on to
<v Speaker 2>the one piece of the show they like. But for
<v Speaker 2>wrestling manages to do it. It's a part of pop culture,
<v Speaker 2>even not just in the US, but across the world,
<v Speaker 2>as you're seeing now from France, from Germany, Australia, worldwide.
<v Speaker 2>It's a global reach. It's not just fans that are
<v Speaker 2>passionate in the United States or Canada. Granted a lot
<v Speaker 2>of the fans are here. Most of the fans are here,
<v Speaker 2>but especially as of late, WWE has done a great
<v Speaker 2>job of trying to expand globally. You're seeing that in
<v Speaker 2>the last couple of years with them doing a lot
<v Speaker 2>more plees overseas. They have a clear global strategy that
<v Speaker 2>they're trying to implement that Vince did not implement, or
<v Speaker 2>he did, but it was kind of lack of days ago.
<v Speaker 2>We'll occasionally do a UK raw, Yeah, we'll do one
<v Speaker 2>here there. Triple H is like, no, we're doing like
<v Speaker 2>four months overseas. You know, four pls in a row overseas,
<v Speaker 2>and that's fine. I mean, it's a global strategy which
<v Speaker 2>she's trying to grow the brand, not just Triple H
<v Speaker 2>but everybody involved. I say, Triple AH is like the
<v Speaker 2>face but everybody involved. So yeah, it's a place that
<v Speaker 2>you can go. And that's why they were so important
<v Speaker 2>during the pandemic. They were a constant that even when
<v Speaker 2>the world went away, wrestling was still there. Different. There
<v Speaker 2>were no fans there, there was the soul of wrestling
<v Speaker 2>was taken away, but it was still there. And it's
<v Speaker 2>something that just once it pulls you in, it's got
<v Speaker 2>this X factor that it's hard to let go, even though,
<v Speaker 2>like you said, sometimes you're finding time, you're finding it
<v Speaker 2>hard to love it at times, we all are. But
<v Speaker 2>you know what, Funnily enough, we all still watch even
<v Speaker 2>when it's it's like, oh, we just sit and complain
<v Speaker 2>about the shows, and you've heard me complain a million times,
<v Speaker 2>a million times, sometimes that to my own fault. But
<v Speaker 2>yet we're still watching. So we complained, but yet we're
<v Speaker 2>still watching. So do we really hate it that much?
<v Speaker 2>If we hated it so much, we wouldn't keep watching.
<v Speaker 2>We'd stay os. Screw it, I'm coming back, you know,
<v Speaker 2>I'm done right. And you hear that a lot of
<v Speaker 2>those empty threats from fans, Oh this is so stupid,
<v Speaker 2>I'm done watching wrestling, and then the next week they're
<v Speaker 2>on Twitter like complaining about whatever. It's like, OK, okay,
<v Speaker 2>so you're still watching, you know, But it's got this
<v Speaker 2>effect that you just never know what's going to happen next.
<v Speaker 2>They've got stars of yesteryear that they pull in every
<v Speaker 2>now and then, like the Rock. So yeah, I mean
<v Speaker 2>it's hard to explain sometimes of why wrestling is just
<v Speaker 2>so gravitational and why some you know, people watch it
<v Speaker 2>for thirty forty fifty years of their lives. But once
<v Speaker 2>you're a fan, it's hard to say that, yeah, I
<v Speaker 2>stopped watching a while ago. You have people from the
<v Speaker 2>Attitude or say that, but then they come back and
<v Speaker 2>they're like, yeah, I took like a ten year breaking.
<v Speaker 2>Now you know, I have to catch up on all
<v Speaker 2>this content, but now I can't stop watching. And there
<v Speaker 2>are going to be seasons that just suck, seasons of
<v Speaker 2>wrestling that you just you hate, but you still watch
<v Speaker 2>because it's an escape. So all right, well that'll do it,
