Episode 42 - The Regiments of the Imperial Guard

The 40k Lorecast

On today's cast we dive into the key regiments of the Imperial Guard and their origin stories. Tallarn and their wars with chaos. The Valhallans and their incredibly stupid origin story, but incredibly badass war with the Orks. Moridan Iron Guard holding the line against insert all chaos. Armageddon Steel Legion against Angron and then Ghaz (twice). The Catachan's against their own damn planet (every day). The Cadians holding the line against the forces of chaos until the absolute final moment. And of course Kreig blowing up their own planet. *note we decided to wait on Tanith for our cast on Gaunt's Ghosts.

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast.
[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to Forty K. Lorcats with me, John Barcati and Brad Jester.
[SPEAKER_01]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Take two because we're actually recording this one again a week afterwards because we got new audio equipment and guess who screwed up and how to set it up.
[SPEAKER_01]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't going to go there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Brad just sat there and talked and I thought, well, this is a new button.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me try using this for the record feature.
[SPEAKER_01]: Turns out, not a good decision.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to do this again.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, on today, we're going to dive into the key regiments of the Piro Guard, who they are, where they come from, and why they matter to the Imperians War effort.
[SPEAKER_01]: But before we begin, follow and comment on the cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's also a link in the show notes to our discord channel for those who have enjoyed it yet.
[SPEAKER_01]: It really is a wonderful channel.
[SPEAKER_01]: Lots of interaction, Brad and I are pretty active in there, but also the community is really active in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: I am poison and marine.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you have any examples of a marine getting poisoned in the literature, please not be discouraged.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just may not be making bread a shirt.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just tag me and make me sad and I'll move all my life.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, I do love the community.
[SPEAKER_00]: Man, we've got a lot of channels that are super busy.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's super exciting.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know I'm patting my, I say I pat myself in the back, but if you see me, my arms are wildly too short to touch any part of my back.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I really enjoy your shoulders and the good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Your back is no good.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like, and I'm clearly talking.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's there's several problems.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was not genetically engineered for success Marines.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, yeah, bread is the bread.
[SPEAKER_01]: We do vote on episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the discord's I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've really been enjoying the discord.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's been some pretty lively.
[SPEAKER_00]: I did drop the bomb of what here's my favorite book and it went pretty well.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just I really enjoy hearing people's ideas and opinions and stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just gets things going.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it also is us shamelessly fishing for what we should do next.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what are you being excited about?
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what did to me, again, this episode is from that, the challenge and joy of doing a podcast on the Laura Forty Gate is there's nothing but options.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of nice that we have this discord now that can help us steer us in a direction.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, and that's where this is what people are asking us about the individual regiments of the guard.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what today is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also in the show notes, there's a link to our Patreon page.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's only one tier.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you don't have to join if you don't want to, but it's there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Those of you who have, thank you.
[SPEAKER_01]: We actually have new mic setups we're talking on right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've also upgraded the recording software.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that combo burned to me last week, but we're trying again this week.
[SPEAKER_01]: but and for the one of you did mention that the treat that your patron was for the treats for the bulldog.
[SPEAKER_01]: She did get the treats and she is a big fan also can confirm one thing I did I learned recently was there's a bunch of people who charge if did you have to join the patreon to be part of their discord and you guys can just go go screw yourselves.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's just a childish thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's pay for a discord one.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm charging you to have access to a thing that I don't I don't pay for.
[SPEAKER_01]: I get I get yelled at a song.
[SPEAKER_00]: Brad, you should be charging for this this and this.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's stuff I charge for and then there's stuff where let's be a community, whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll get off my soapbox.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that note though, Brad is available for coaching for those of you who are newer to the game or veterans of the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
[SPEAKER_01]: Those of you who play the game in any way and you're saying, Hey, I just want to get a little bit better at it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Brad is available.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not it's like a one-year subscription.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's a game you can do.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's available for one-offs, multiples, however it is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, anything you want, I do, I do one off, I do, by the month, whatever you wanna do, and it's legit, ready, start it off.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's literally, anything from, I'd like to start playing to, I wanna be the best I wanna try to hone my game to be the best in the world, and anything in between don't be afraid to contact me.
[SPEAKER_00]: And if we don't, cool too, I just like, you know, if people wanna reach out and talk about it, I'm gonna go.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to do that, he has an email address that he always spits into this microphone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, man, Brad, what you can't Gmail.com.
[SPEAKER_01]: We also have a web page, the Forty-K-Lorecast.com.
[SPEAKER_01]: Click on his profile, and you'll get it there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, let's give it a topic at hand, which is the guard regiments.
[SPEAKER_01]: A little reminder from last week, all these regiments, guard regiments are very, very different.
[SPEAKER_01]: Wildly, so bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they're supposed to be from storyline.
[SPEAKER_00]: There, GW has always good or bad, draws upon historical figures and cultures in Earth's history.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we make planets just like Star Wars does.
[SPEAKER_00]: One top option.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be unique.
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember the massive fact, not that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or Star Trek, also not that.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going, you know, we're going mono built here, all mono block all the way through.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hoffman is winner, yes, the whole plan.
[SPEAKER_01]: couple little notes is the jigskill of it weird.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're on the tenth edition of the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: I believe guard has had seven code access in the antenna editions.
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have one tenth yet because I know they didn't.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're not even counting the they've had a lot of stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: There was no fourth and no sixth.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not mistaken.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but they got a full regiment, multiple regiment Scott.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wait to worst though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's true.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they show and they also have the Imperial Armour companion.
[SPEAKER_01]: Imperial Armour companion.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, these are spread throughout quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: So some of the lore here where I'm going to, I just want to caveat this before we got going.
[SPEAKER_01]: According to what edition you read, guard regiments either were reinforced, were not reinforced, or were reinforced in different ways.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, but like the original.
[SPEAKER_00]: When they give the lore of not reinforced and always sounded stupid to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I read.
[SPEAKER_00]: So like, there's no, if you've got a tactically sound bunch of veterans, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But some more, you fold them into a new group and do a new regiment.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so this is one of those things that just kind of came up.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a period of time where it was, oh, the once a guard reaches a small enough size, they would just go on guard duty and to Brad's points.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, so you mean the guys who survived, twenty five conflicts, you're just going to have them guard these things.
[SPEAKER_00]: Please, even veterans with tons of knowledge.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I said.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, and now, once you hit, I believe it was like fit through the seventh edition code, except forget which one, this did flip.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I always like to, whenever we're talking about lore, and there is a change, I like to call it out because different people have different experiences in learning this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't want you guys talking to your friends or talk about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, John and Brad said this thing, but I heard it's this.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're right.
[SPEAKER_01]: In the early editions, a regiment would be formed, a regiment would fight, a regiment would die, and that was it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it is a regimentable fight.
[SPEAKER_01]: A regimentable get decimated, which people misuse that word.
[SPEAKER_01]: It means one in ten.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, they get decimated.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then they fold it into another.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was also a Roman technique from the same.
[SPEAKER_01]: The only thing is that even with the new rules where they do get reinforced, they are still landed.
[SPEAKER_01]: They only will reinforce their home planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we're getting to that in a second.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is a really key thing about the guard.
[SPEAKER_01]: The reason they do this is you're talking about a million planets spread throughout the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: talking about trillions of guardsmen.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're cherry picking the most.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even just the best of the best.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the most interesting.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the way the imperial function is also is that you would take a soldier from Planet XYZ.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be in combat properly within a short term, depending.
[SPEAKER_01]: It could be a couple of months if it's far away, but it might be as sure as a week.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not easy to sit there and say, I mean, imagine we did some earth.
[SPEAKER_01]: If I took someone like Uzbekistan, sort of in Texas, some from Brazil, and someone else from Sweden, and put them all together, and expect them to fight together.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not, I mean, knowing wrong, they're going to all shoot the alien together, but as far as like how to actually communicate with them, getting the follow is harder.
[SPEAKER_01]: So instead, you do your founding's all from one place.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it gets them to work together and not run away for one.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's also that.
[SPEAKER_01]: That being said, the vast majority of regiments that exist are of no renown with.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, they're so boring.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, guardsman, guard fans, but if you're not one of the, the in crowd, you're the ninety percent of guards, I can't say ninety percent.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll see seventy five because there's a lot of worse going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: There is, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But we have a lot of planets to guard.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we have a lot of forces that we need to have at the ready.
[SPEAKER_01]: And a regiment founding is supposed to be ten percent of the planetary defense force.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, well, that's the minimum.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go with that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, but if you're on an ocean world, what does that look like?
[SPEAKER_01]: It might be seven hundred soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it gets founded.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can send seven hundred soldiers to go stop gas going.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, you're going to send them to guard.
[SPEAKER_00]: Agro World B. Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Supply Depot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Supposedly stay on the space station or your army, you'll just have them go in guard at the guardsmen, where the when the Cadians are somewhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: Finally, make sure that they're fed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you've got a like a jukari range just happened like your stand here.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if they come back, shoot them.
[SPEAKER_01]: The the city or one, though, honestly, is that you also might send them to say, hey, these these these planets all went dark.
[SPEAKER_00]: I got this the worst worst and they just give you red shirt.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I want to actually elaborate on this because
[SPEAKER_00]: The Imperium, just like in any bad horror movie and whatnot, has never learned anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: They consistently go, you group of guys, go see what happened in the basement, separate make sure that there's not two of you together, separate, for sure, and see what happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: It never worked out one time.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm laughing about this because I'm actually going to like, we were talking about space halt before, but they sent terminators into a space halt.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a squad.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the inverse of that.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a bunch of dudes holding a lines rifle, which we did cover the mighty lines rifle.
[SPEAKER_01]: The most reliable weapon.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can flag armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm wearing flag armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: into a planet that had, I don't know, two trillion people on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now there's no one on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what we're going down.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey guys, it was bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Every time it's bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's really, really bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: And those guys get smoked every single time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes before they get smoked, they get the scream into their coms and send a message back to the Imperium while someone is doing something terrible.
[SPEAKER_00]: like making their leg go in their eye.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're not going to focus on them today.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're only going to focus on what we would call the regimen suffering.
[SPEAKER_01]: These are one to have either, but should they have all been in code X?
[SPEAKER_01]: Is everyone has been in code X's?
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of them even had their own supplements, specifics up into themselves in the past.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, little sad side note about this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Of all the ones we're gonna talk about, only three of these forces actually have a kit and more.
[SPEAKER_01]: Krieg, kind of chain Katie.
[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not even a real thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just make them yourself.
[SPEAKER_00]: You have a big deal.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you guys are hearing a story today and you say, wow, I like to build them out.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the beauty of third party, three D printers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They can print you the hair.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, we're not gonna say it's third party because we want to be respective of our GW overlords.
[SPEAKER_01]: They haven't given me a single dollar.
[SPEAKER_00]: But if they would give us dollars, we will tap this podcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: I will stop shit talking if they were the banks.
[SPEAKER_00]: But there's a bunch of places you can get these.
[SPEAKER_00]: What the cool thing is is you can get three D prints.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can get actual models.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they look fantastic.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because you don't need to, you don't need to replace the entire cards, but you shouldn't, you should place a head, maybe some additional Paul Drens.
[SPEAKER_01]: Same as that you use with space marines too.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to run some off chapters, you can do that stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the other piece, though, is why that has happened.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it could be that the models weren't selling.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's equally likely that certain assholes have ruined the fun for all of us, and I want to start this cast by calling this out.
[SPEAKER_01]: GW, when they were writing the Imperial Guard, were heavily influenced by World War I, World War II, which is fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good call is a game called Bolt Gun, really fun game, actually.
[SPEAKER_01]: Equally this room.
[SPEAKER_00]: Super cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: And unfortunately, GW has had some moments in tournaments where people have painted their models in a way to emulate a certain, very specific army from real world.
[SPEAKER_00]: People literally painted their armies up to be Nazi.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, go with yourselves.
[SPEAKER_00]: You literally ruined an entire line.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: by being a dick.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, cool models if you're not making a Nazis.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, really beautiful models, but they decide to be dicks.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, just want to call it out right now for anyone who is newer to the game and is sitting there saying, Hey, you guys have talked about these guys, don't exist anymore.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll call them out specifically.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's some actually the more storied group stories that anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I guess people did dumb shit with them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, on to the fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's start with actually one of my personal favorites, which is the Talon Desert Raider.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you meant to say Lawrence of Raider.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is Lawrence of Raider.
[SPEAKER_01]: These models are made to resemble the Bedouins, which is Northern African.
[SPEAKER_00]: No matter.
[SPEAKER_01]: No matter.
[SPEAKER_00]: No matter.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that Lawrence of a Raider font with.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, I'll join up with.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a cool move, guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know I'm an old man, but like,
[SPEAKER_01]: But there's, there's, if you're done old movies, Lawrence of Arabia.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a cool movie.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, then.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's how it feels.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: And back to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Talon are actually really, they're one of the crazier stories.
[SPEAKER_01]: They, they were a paradise world before the horror seriously.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's not.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Penarabble felt differently.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the iron warriors viewed this paradise world as both as a threat to them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they decided to go and attack it and by attack it, I mean they virus bombed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he didn't attack it.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just flattened it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they virus bombed the planet and anyone who's read the stories and is to bond for knows what a virus bomb does.
[SPEAKER_01]: The planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk, we gotta, we gotta psych up here.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the people decided, nah, ain't going out like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just went straight up underground and not underground like, hey, man, I took me, Timmy and my wife and went underground.
[SPEAKER_01]: They went, no, we grabbed everything and went down and they did.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cause apparently the planet had in biro shelters.
[SPEAKER_01]: who knew and they went down and hit there.
[SPEAKER_01]: The iron warriors, though, didn't just want to virus bomb the plant.
[SPEAKER_01]: They actually then decided to go and invade the planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: The planet's also full of metals and it's a very, very naturally rich planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Get into some interest.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's for the second.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the teller and decided, mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_00]: were never giving up, ever, ever, ever, and apparently drove and made, I think the term is a shitload of tanks.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're underselling this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Beyond is so, the Talon went underground while the virus was still active on the surface, the Iron Warrior was invaded and the Talon went, well, our tanks are in our seals.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go do that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what began was the largest tank battle in perial history.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which effectively means it's the largest tank battle, because no one feels tanks like the Imperia.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel the largest.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go ahead and I don't even see this.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is larger than the tank battles that we're going on in North Africa and the World War II.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was bananas.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, again, we're talking Marines versus John and I. Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, talents are getting rich, rolled, but are they?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they won.
[SPEAKER_00]: because they were doing Tokyo drift with reverse with Lehman Rosses.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I didn't know that was a thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Talarna are taking Lehman Rosses and they're doing lightning strikes with a Lehman Ross tank.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're legitimately scooping up.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're putting nitrous on Lehman Russes and they're going, we'll just drive as fast as humanly possible in lob shells into them while we're doing drive buys.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you guys have ever played battle tech, super good technique to use, but
[SPEAKER_00]: The tellerators, just yellow swagging, and again, marines, so they're not like they're going to get out and punch them to death.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's marines.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and eventually that the iron mortars just had to leave because they were supposed to be somewhere else in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they were supposed to be wildly somewhere else.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, I mean, they're actually the public horse was kind of pissed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because they were supposed to be gone a long time.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a waste for almost a year.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was supposed to be there for a couple of days.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was to say, this was a long weekend.
[SPEAKER_00]: You took off Friday and you were supposed to be back at work a Monday.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, they were there for about a year.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the taler and we're like, I didn't hear no bell.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's only part one of this talron story.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we start off with the talron repelled a trader marine in rebellion.
[SPEAKER_01]: After they leave, the talron are find a problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: They've realized, well, they've probably had a time.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're very lush in fertile planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was now a horrifying death desert.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we said approximately.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's a mad Mac.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's meant.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the, in the codex, it calls out that the sandstorms that blew through could tear all the skin and flesh off your bones.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because apparently the sandwalked around was effectively hardened sand, returned into glass, so they had ninety to hundred mile an hour winds.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were just full of glass shards.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so the Talon go rolling sand is glass.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Talon go below ground.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they build these domed cities above ground where they do over hydroponics and living.
[SPEAKER_01]: And if it sounds familiar, yeah, it's doing guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: They, I was just going to say, I guess it's doing a different.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is just doing without a sand worm.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I, and I would tell you, I wouldn't be surprised by one point.
[SPEAKER_01]: GW had a sand warp in this.
[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they were all, but the nice thing is that the talent, the pretty adapt at this, and the next thousand years or so, they start like perfecting how to be above ground.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, these guys are psychos about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the thing that's crazy to me about the talent.
[SPEAKER_00]: The world is, oh, I don't know, I was gonna go outside today, but I did wanna get murdered by the world.
[SPEAKER_00]: The world, which is swirling, what's that?
[SPEAKER_00]: Is that another broken glass storm?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is a bummer.
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I guess I'll just stay inside.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or I could learn how to again, do crazy, uh, fast in the furious moves with a Lehman Ross, who knew and by the way, over the thousand years, who knows how to do this?
[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone comes their thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's what the end of the talent of this actually even better story about the talent, which I like more, which is, as the talent are doing this, obviously they're building these dome cities all around a planet and they have to connect them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they decided to do the, the lima, is it hyperlink, whatever, whatever, Elon was trying to build in California that didn't go anywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: They totally made it happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they were building these tunnels everywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not a big deal.
[SPEAKER_01]: Except while digging out one tunnel, they hit a wall of black.
[SPEAKER_00]: What?
[SPEAKER_00]: So that you're saying in a sci-fi story, someone was excavating and they hit a artifact of unknown origin.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what?
[UNKNOWN]: Do you
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, what is up with that?
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, that is actually true.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's always like a block city.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's described as a block city.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's because they're English and like having at the end of the world of gray.
[SPEAKER_00]: anything colorful or dark.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm out there.
[SPEAKER_01]: There is no color in the world when you live in the Midlands.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, so they go to this wall of rock and it's our excavating and they discover it's well, well, it's a will of rock with a bunch of effectively glyphs of wording on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're all right.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a giant circle.
[SPEAKER_01]: And on the black rock, there are images of what appeared to be humanoids.
[SPEAKER_01]: sort of, but they're being twisted and manipulated, which I'm not going to pretend to be Captain Forshado here.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's Eldar.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the Eldar.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's Eldar, literally painting pictures.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the, in the Eldar's credit for what's about to happen, the Eldar did specifically put warning pictures.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this is forestland.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is what's happening.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you screw up our wall,
[SPEAKER_00]: fish hooks and bottles will happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a good thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Stay away from it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And as usual, humans went, what's behind the wall?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a big circle.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's excavate the big circle or it's a ring.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a circle.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what's funny about this is we haven't covered them yet, but we will in the future.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Black Library, which you mentioned in the past, is where the Eldar store all of their knowledge.
[SPEAKER_00]: And everything that they've ever... And I just want you to know that it's having to do this twice, puts me farther away from our Eldar cast.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very sad about this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just Eldar, why would you be excited about your favorite thing?
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so while the Talar are digging up this giant artifact, the Black Library is like, is busy humming with warnings, and the solid hairs are falling out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also,
[SPEAKER_00]: Hold on, John.
[SPEAKER_00]: You just said it like it's no big deal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, hey, some people were baking cookies and some alarms went off.
[SPEAKER_00]: You said the solitaires, plural for one, solitaires are basically saying the thorns found out that she was going on and they showed up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so the tell-art used to be called Alganar, which was a, obviously, a planet that the Elder had.
[SPEAKER_01]: And on Alganar, the Elder, the corrupted Elder, built a portal to the, to the, to the, to the, the material.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, permanent.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a problem with it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not like a one-time deal, like, hey, we summon some stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, they don't do summoning circles.
[SPEAKER_00]: They do super-highways to bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we haven't covered the Elder yet, but there's a quick side of the Elder.
[SPEAKER_01]: If the Elder think you're about to do something that's going to help chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they snuff you.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't, yeah, they don't mess around.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Elder, we're not on the sentence of monkeys, f up the galaxy, because they want to be Captain Anthropologist all the same.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sky above Talon effectively explodes with Eldar.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because the Eldar to their credit here, and I'm not giving them a lot of credit, is they didn't know if the people on Talon were chaos called this or not, and they were not about to ask.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just showed up in the sky and began shooting at the Talon.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, for as smart as Eldar, ninety percent of the things that have happened to the Eldar could have been stopped by an email.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, also, you guys would cut that out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't blow the world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we'll slow off.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Nah, let's just shoot with Brightlands.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Every time the other dude, you're like, hey, the Emperor should have done this.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're like, you guys should have also, you broke this guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Raise your hand if you didn't break this guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's all you well done.
[SPEAKER_01]: I like this story a lot though because GW writing is always very dramatic.
[SPEAKER_01]: At the exact, basically the exact same with the elder come attacking out of the sky, the talon.
[SPEAKER_01]: I guess there's like two archeologists left who are just brushing off the last a little bit of dust off of it and while being shot at from the sky went, yeah I'm going to keep working.
[SPEAKER_00]: And also the other exactly weren't super precise because in the story, they just even though they're trying to stop this from happening, they just randomly bomb the area.
[SPEAKER_00]: And weirdly enough, that doesn't work as well out.
[SPEAKER_01]: That also clears some of the rubble of said portal to hell.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the other and their infinite wisdom on this one, demons start pouring out.
[SPEAKER_00]: and the Imperium starts fighting the demons because, yeah, this demon.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the elder go, oh man, I think we might have made a mistake fellas like, you know, this one's on me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I owe you a drink.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're gonna be friends now, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: And then we're both gonna kill these demons.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they do.
[SPEAKER_01]: They actually fight together.
[SPEAKER_01]: They battle demons back in the warp.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the talon, what I do like about this is that the elder's viewpoint was, it maybe will blow up the gate.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we'll do that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love this humans do human stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: What do we do to be close the gate?
[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.
[SPEAKER_00]: We figure out anything about the gate.
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're just gonna bury it in so much rock.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like anything else?
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't understand what you're talking about.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're just going to fill a like, you know, kilometer wide.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, put on mountain on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Rocks on rocks on rocks.
[SPEAKER_01]: They wait.
[SPEAKER_01]: They do not disturb.
[SPEAKER_01]: They they have.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they they effectively made a man made mountain on top of the ring and then just put a perimeter around it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, by the way, all the art with signs.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It just said, hey, don't go here bad things.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: which was probably better than the pictures, but whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now does that story have anything to do with modern forty-day?
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it was in the second edition code X, which was in nineteen nineteen.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're doing a lower cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't have something to do with something.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it was a cool story.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's my point.
[SPEAKER_01]: So really good story.
[SPEAKER_01]: We should be doing more of these note code X's.
[SPEAKER_01]: But back to the talent.
[SPEAKER_01]: I got this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Teller come in and they strike.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then what they're doing is they're striking and moving through areas that normal regiments weren't going to be able to.
[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of times you have one of the downfalls of the Lehman-Rusper grades and stuff like that is there a slow moving target.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the teller and can go, I shoot you and I moved to the very little cover that might be here, but they make a great mobile
[SPEAKER_00]: This is at least a harder target to hit as opposed to, hey, here's my Lehman Rust Battalion, and I'm going to bomb just this.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a great way to put against it.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Talar and I are going to be deployed specifically in the world that don't have a lot of cover, but the enemy is very strong.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Talar and, unfortunately, in one of the units that don't exist anymore in the game, but you can easily find really pretty heads that just has a turbine on it and paint them up, and they look fricking sick.
[SPEAKER_00]: So hard paints came though.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's apparently a space game, but whatever.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_01]: The next one we'll talk and do.
[SPEAKER_01]: That'll have a nice Warriors.
[SPEAKER_01]: These guys are meant to resemble the Soviet red army from World War II.
[SPEAKER_01]: So thick coats, little short furry hats, all the times I've actually done ice blue and white.
[SPEAKER_01]: I like these guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they look really cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is any of my favorite regimen.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is my favorite painted regimen because the someone that doesn't see color super well, the contrast between the white and the blue is actually something I can see very well.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it looks, it just pops for me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, these guys are to what they were based on.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a other close.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're their lore story matches.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're influential army really well.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, to the first part of their lower story.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought we were going to skip this.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, we're not skipping this because it's the dumbest thing I've ever been.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can we?
[SPEAKER_00]: Can we skip it?
[SPEAKER_00]: Can I?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's objective.
[SPEAKER_00]: If I had any money, I would give it to you.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a game.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is objectively too stupid to skip.
[SPEAKER_01]: So how long it used to be a paradise world?
[SPEAKER_01]: In the thirty first millennia, a comet hit the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to fight you for.
[SPEAKER_01]: With so much force.
[SPEAKER_00]: Screw it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: the comet hit the planet and instead of just destroying the planet, which it would of be because this is much force, it pushes the planet away that this is what drives me crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is not a physics word.
[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't hit the planet and slowly push it away.
[SPEAKER_00]: But what happened is the planet got moved.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fifteen million miles in a different orbit, by the way.
[SPEAKER_01]: to our British listeners is it's no curse the game you guys play because this this comes out of pool for me like that's what they're like oh I this is a trick shot yeah I hit the blue ball with my white ball and it moved it over there that's how the universe works so the planet gets any wildly far away orbit I mean the planets destroyed by the way uh because this is apparently a dream sequence and season one but whatever yeah
[SPEAKER_00]: So the planet gets pushed out.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to talk about the comet.
[SPEAKER_00]: The comet never happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's always been a very far away from the sun orbit.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why the planet's cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: It got moved by a comet.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, but that's not the end of how it's problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, there was no reason to say that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Screw this, I'm getting in my store bus.
[SPEAKER_00]: We could have just said, it's a cold planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: We had to add the comment thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: They wrote that down.
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't make up some dumbass.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's in the codex.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's nothing.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the next part's actually more funny.
[SPEAKER_01]: So right after they finally get their shit together, post comet move and their planet is now cold.
[SPEAKER_01]: And orc space Hulk just appears above this.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is this, however, while the comet thing is the demonstrating ever, this is fantastically hilarious and traumatic at the same time, because it's just this whole orcs showing up out of
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, random bad luck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, no plan.
[SPEAKER_01]: The orcs were just on a space Hulk that they had no control.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is not a while.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm sure there's going to war boss present.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just appeared above the planet and went, uh, we're kind of hungry.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's where they got food and went down to the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't go down to the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: They crash landed a space Hulk.
[SPEAKER_01]: Get into planets.
[SPEAKER_01]: We think they were flying in a space hook and now build a shuttle.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like no, it's like, let's just go lower.
[SPEAKER_01]: Who gravity slam?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And look, we landed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Lank quotes, air quotes landed.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're here.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the orcs then began.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the violence had no choice but now, but the fight works.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's point out, or convasions have defeated space marine chapters.
[SPEAKER_00]: This gives the whole.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, every time you look up anything weird on YouTube, it's Russian, sorry, Russians.
[SPEAKER_00]: You guys are crazy people.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: and we get the whole everything sucks drink vodka and smoke a cigarette you'll be fine in my worst Russian accent ever but the vahons just go yeah cool everyone's dying i'm standing right here and the best part is it well that wasn't one tough guy the one dude
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, that was everywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: They stood there and just kept shooting at the orcs over and over and they would basically make they would kill hundreds of orcs probably to thousands of the islands, but they kept this war of attrition going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: I actually think this might have been super weird for the orcs because there's no way the orcs had met regular non marine humans.
[SPEAKER_00]: And like, why doesn't anyone ever run or do anything in these guys?
[SPEAKER_00]: Or just like, whatever, it's Tuesday.
[SPEAKER_00]: I might as well just keep shooting my last gun until someone cuts off my head.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so the Valhalla's literally repel an orconvasion on their planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think they broke their souls.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think the orgs really just went, you guys are so just downtrodden that I don't want anything to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are too sad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, can you please listen to less myths and do something else?
[SPEAKER_01]: But this results is, you know, this invasion ends and with this result is in the Valhalan's now learn from this that if you just hold the line.
[SPEAKER_01]: don't retreat, you don't make changes, you will, the emperors guiding light will save you.
[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, it's when it gets twisted and due later.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that, that being, it's the vow, howlons become this force known throughout the galaxy for this like to Brad's point, stoic.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: They also kind of get, they get fucked on us.
[SPEAKER_00]: The vault Hellen's get put into
[SPEAKER_00]: So many situations where they're not supposed to win, they're supposed to speed bump whatever's attacking long enough for whoever's going to win the conflict to get there and they're just known for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they get messed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, they're not having to get some of the hardest battles on winnable.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't want them.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just want them to win, but they don't.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they don't expect them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're they're for the one not favorite.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they just want, hey, man, can you make it to round eight because by round eight, we will have someone show us will be here.
[SPEAKER_01]: So can you guys make it that long?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just don't get knocked out.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, but who's attacking us?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's not talk about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just hold the line.
[SPEAKER_01]: So after that, I want to jump into really, really quick someone who we're not going to cover.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Adelaan Rough Riders.
[SPEAKER_01]: John's favorite.
[SPEAKER_01]: These are stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a regiment that specializes in writing horses.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's dive into that real quick.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the forty first millennia horses are only on from one of the million planets in the entire galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're telling me like,
[SPEAKER_01]: Like the European settlers, they got to America.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're bringing horses with them when they saw new worlds.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to say is you have so much possibility to sing DMX songs and you won't do it because let's let punk rock and metal.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's because it's stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no reason, it a game that has flying like crafts, tanks, bane blades.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's within the examiner.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's also a dude in a horse holding a spear with an RPG on the end of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I hate these models.
[SPEAKER_01]: I hate this thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I hate everything about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: I want people that have listened, if you're listening and you've listened to the beginning, if you went the beginning to now, I want you to think back and how not logical, John and I are the things we don't like.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is very random of the things we decide we don't like.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't understand why you don't be felt to need to add horses to their game.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go to something cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, these guys are a planet of holy shit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: We take things real serious here.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Australian first born are just so for people know we're talking about they are meant to look like the costs acts from World War One.
[SPEAKER_01]: Giant red furry hats.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cossacks are cool for politics.
[SPEAKER_00]: The strands are way cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have then classics.
[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cossacks were badass by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Incredible.
[SPEAKER_00]: But these dudes are not playing around.
[SPEAKER_01]: These are, I would argue between them and Caden are the most elite of the entire, they're born and bred for war and they don't take this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's get to that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the origins of them are really important.
[SPEAKER_01]: So their roots are actually this planet actually was founded during the age of technology.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is, again, back when it was the end of the college, Dr. Narky to technology.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It should be later became, they were cool through that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are fifteen thousand years ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the current storyline.
[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what's amazing about this is effectively the great crusade leaves Earth.
[SPEAKER_01]: They got to Vastroya and everyone at Vastroy was like, oh, hey, what's up guys?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like shit, shit's okay here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we've been good.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the ad Mac get the level of a rousal when they throw them at Vastroy.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty strong.
[SPEAKER_01]: And convince the emperor not to make an actual imperial colony.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is actually an ad Mac colony.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is right.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give my Rick and Morty reference.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is Rick and Morty with the bugs that show me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: That show really is fantastic.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the strains are just what we've been here the whole time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Was there a bad time?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's always a bad time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, where the history of Australia changes is during the Horace Heresy.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Horace Heresy obviously explodes and the clothes go out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Horace's allies and the appearing allies to the whole galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't forget about this part.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a dick move by the destroyers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the Australians decide we survive the Dark Age of Technology.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll survive this.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, and they pretended to declare neutral.
[SPEAKER_00]: They put their heads in the state ostrich this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It did not go.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they because they're they're argument internally was that the world was too valuable and whoever wins will will side with us.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll be honest, they actually weren't that wrong about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they ever didn't like they didn't like come out of this and go attack them.
[SPEAKER_01]: But no, but
[SPEAKER_01]: At the end of the, but the difference is at the end of the Horace Harris, the emperor is effectively dead.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to go half the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, send it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_01]: Emperor protects and the Australians feel horrible about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're also told effectively that it's very false.
[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're, there's several of the, the small short stories that kind of allude to.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, man, it didn't exactly help.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Australians decide that they're going to make this up to the Imperial.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the way they're going to make this up to the Imperial is that every first born male or female.
[SPEAKER_00]: Post them on the, they have societal guilt.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, this wasn't like a couple of leaders said, he'll make it up to you.
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
[SPEAKER_01]: The entire populace realizes in quotes the air of their ways here and decide to make it up to the Imperial.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they do something no one else does.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't do regimental foundations.
[SPEAKER_01]: They said every single first born male or female from every family in all of Australia goes and serves in the Imperial.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a bad ass thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: These guys are so hardcore about this because it's not like they just go, oh man, this is going to be sad.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm letting Ted go my first born.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm letting Linda go my first born.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, they go this is my first born from day one of birth.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to start giving this guy imperial creed.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to start training them.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give them the best.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give them the best equipment.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and that's one of the key things of Australians is that it's a combo.
[SPEAKER_01]: One, they're raising their first born child to not go to work, but to survive going to work by being the best.
[SPEAKER_00]: But also, they don't want to live to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't trade the first strain for sport.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just be front rank guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: They want them to be in charge.
[SPEAKER_00]: But in not from a, I want them to be in the back.
[SPEAKER_00]: They want them to be the best in front.
[SPEAKER_01]: They effectively making them all special forces.
[SPEAKER_01]: At the same time, though, as we just mentioned, this is a forge world, an admec for they make weapons.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as they're making weapons, they're making special weapons.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you meant the same.
[SPEAKER_00]: Say, we did a lot of air quotes that you can't see.
[SPEAKER_00]: Ad Mac does not care about where your weapon came from.
[SPEAKER_00]: They want tech.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is it human tech?
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't really care.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, if Australians go with quotes, tech, that's better.
[SPEAKER_01]: of the honest, like, if the game was complicated enough, and I'm not going to finish it and be, but if I were right in the data sheets of Australians, there were lots of rifles, would they should cost more and do weighted.
[SPEAKER_01]: They should be a higher strength, more AP and more damage, because that's what they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the lore that they actually is what they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Australians are known for bringing weaponry.
[SPEAKER_01]: That seems to resemble the same rubber everyone else has, but hits
[SPEAKER_01]: So much harder.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as of result of all this, the Australians are there kind of a very elite force that's utilized.
[SPEAKER_01]: When the Vastroins are deployed, as we were just saying with the Valhallaens, where it was like, hey, this is probably unwindable.
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you guys pull it off?
[SPEAKER_01]: The Vastroins are a, this is winnable.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're putting you guys in there, go end this quick, and so we can move on to the next one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Strans are bad at it.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've also had really good rules over the years.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not anymore, because they don't exist.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Screw you.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've been used to.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: When they were actually with the trader guy, that was badass too.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have that.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're doing those for a second time and I'm going to apologize right now because I'm going to say the same thing I said the last time recorded this, which is no one heard it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mordia sucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Mordian iron guards.
[SPEAKER_01]: These ones are based off the Prussian.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Prussians.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Prussians.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: My least favorites are on a map.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're totally still here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, when I'm super rich in Prussian Franks right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the joke of currencies.
[SPEAKER_01]: But to be fair, the Mordians actually pulled off a pretty bad aspect.
[SPEAKER_01]: So again.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: All of these guys have an origin story.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is back with you.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're playing.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's also stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the plan is objectively stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, but what's funny about the planet Mordia is a planet Mordia and they got the physics right on this and given this credit.
[SPEAKER_01]: The planet rotates at a similar speed that it revolves around the sun.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a result one side of the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: have a dark side of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Always dark and one size always light.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you think we should live in the light side.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's too hot.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you should so they decide to live in the dark side or what you're all saying is why you just live somewhere else.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the correct answer.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, you get litter.
[SPEAKER_01]: We could terraform planets.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a stupid planet stupid planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: They built a hive world on the dark side of a planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what's worse than living in a hive world?
[SPEAKER_01]: How about one that could never see the sun?
[SPEAKER_01]: Now it doesn't.
[SPEAKER_01]: It would actually be impossible for it to ever.
[SPEAKER_00]: This place, by the way, more than the other.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, the game
[SPEAKER_00]: It's super cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was a game.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's like it was a neck mud and all that stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good morning.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's on me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, to no surprise of anybody, Chaos Colts pop up here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, it pops up because the place sucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what happens?
[SPEAKER_00]: This is why Cascals happen because everything sucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, hey, let me check off everything in my life that sucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: And when you click check all, you go, I'm just joining a Cascal because you're like, hey, he could take your soul.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, at this point, I don't care.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's still better than this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this sucks so much.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Mordia exploits what happens is these chaos cults perform a ritual which then obviously opens up a rift into the hematarium.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the motherly several.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what I do like about this is that this is still the point in the in the the lower where the regular imperial says and doesn't even know chaos exists.
[SPEAKER_01]: They get invaded by chaos base marines.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, cultists still there great unclean wants.
[SPEAKER_01]: are just wandering through.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, because it's a high world to refresh everybody on the high world, high worlds go down miles of different levels.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's great unclean ones at literally a random places.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you're like, hey man, I'm about to clock in to do my shitty job and you're like, oh, cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a great unclean one right at my machine.
[SPEAKER_00]: that this is how this day is going.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is how Mordia's day is going to suck.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Mordian planetary defense forces at this point, but it becomes, and then the instrumental term, they're called the Iron Guard, get together and begin fighting back against a full-blown chaos invasion.
[SPEAKER_01]: These are regular humans fighting demons and chaos spacers.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what, even though these guys are my least favorite, I'm gonna give them super props because for whatever reason, these guys gave zero F's.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like just non.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, as a whole of the planet, I don't know what they're drinking in the water, but apparently it's bad ass juice because no one gave a shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, hey man, cast space Marines, greater demons,
[SPEAKER_01]: you're really messing with my paycheck for this week.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to grab the extra lies right for over there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you go after yourself.
[SPEAKER_00]: These guys were like, they literally look like your boy from army of darkness.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just like did not give me shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, hey, greater demons.
[SPEAKER_00]: Bro, you're going to make me late.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're standing right in front of the clock.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the morning's just don't give a shit and start fighting them.
[SPEAKER_01]: That'd be fair.
[SPEAKER_01]: The cast of the nation begins winning as you expect.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and they've been they're swallowing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the Mordians are falling back position by position.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're holding the line as long as they can than falling back the next line.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then holding out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, also, they are blowing shit up, which is part of the funniest part of the story.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're blowing up their own world.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're, they're literally caving in different levels of the high world just to go, we'll screw you back.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, hey, it wasn't, this wasn't like the Russian retreat from the Nazis.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're like, we're gonna remove their supplies.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're greater demons.
[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't that they were just, they like, they're just bearing the lives.
[SPEAKER_01]: The last rifle bounced off that thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: What if we dropped floor forty two on it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what happens.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see what happens.
[SPEAKER_00]: The whole floor?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what goes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Are we gonna be able to get back up?
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But also screw that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's one of my favorite parts about these stories is they were just like,
[SPEAKER_00]: Through these guys, their vengeance was so hard.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were just like, am I going to get messed up because of this?
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, for sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he'll get messed up too.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's also going to die.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not a sort of demon, whatever demons do.
[SPEAKER_01]: What is the part of the story that is nice though is that they do end up winning in the end.
[SPEAKER_01]: The reason they win is all of a sudden as they're retreating and fighting or treating and fighting all of the demons disappear.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's because they put a call out, you know, explain what was going on.
[SPEAKER_01]: And back on Terra, all of the psychers had gotten together and cast a spell.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry guys, it's like second edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they were still smells that.
[SPEAKER_00]: They actually can't, they have to be honest, John.
[SPEAKER_00]: They cast a ritual spell, which was a thing back.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but that's it.
[SPEAKER_01]: We've removed that from the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it was because it didn't sell enough.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it said ritual spell, which sounds bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so they went, this closes the gap between the material and the immature, which immediately wipes out all of the demons.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's still our chaos, space marines and cultists there, which the morning and guard were like, well, legit beat the shit out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they were like, hey, all your buddies are gone.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what we're gonna do now?
[SPEAKER_01]: Vengeance ties.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is pretty crazy because CSM should cast space marines should win.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mordians just win.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they did the whole recognition of, hey, you can kill swallows of us, but there's billions of us.
[SPEAKER_00]: If we just dive on you, we'll eventually get you there.
[SPEAKER_01]: What's your solution there?
[SPEAKER_01]: So in battle, the Morians, this is led to is the Morians come out of this and they're known for following orders without questions.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's most of the guards, they're just very brave.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, they're so crazy and so devoted, they're not, it's not just devoted, I think they're devoted and they're so they believe in the cause that the Imperium doesn't even, they do something.
[SPEAKER_00]: But most of the time, they don't even bother sending commissars out because they know that these guys, they don't, they don't care.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why is then the commissar to someone who will never retreat and will always follow orders and will always fight the enemy?
[SPEAKER_00]: And these guys are kind of crazy about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's also some bad stories about this because they, they will follow in order.
[SPEAKER_00]: That is makes zero sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they'll lemmings.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, hey, our order was everybody jumps off this bridge.
[SPEAKER_00]: I guess there's something down there in the bridge that we need to take care.
[SPEAKER_01]: Another quick hit here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Teneth for those who aren't aware of teneth is Gonskost so Gonskost even gone comes from is actually the commissar comes from teneth We're gonna do a separate cast on the Gonskost so we're gonna skip because the consequences are cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I mean also guys what we've been doing a bad job about in recent cast
[SPEAKER_00]: read the gods and ghost books.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're available for them.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're also available for download and audible and it's a good.
[SPEAKER_00]: The guy that's reading is very good too.
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't do weird voices.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's always been challenging on audible.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you got a guy who decides to really lean into the character and you're like, yeah, you're like, this is annoying.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's pretty good.
[SPEAKER_00]: As some of them, there's a lot of audiobooks.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like them quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: So from there, we're going to move on to Armageddon Steel Legion.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_01]: Armageddon Steel Legion, we mentioned earlier about some people doing weird things with modeling.
[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck them.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm used once.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the armageddon that took that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm overriding this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Steel Legion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Coolish.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what the steel Legion were.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is why I'm upset about this.
[SPEAKER_01]: The steel Legion in lore and their models were some of the best in the game and they got ruined by people who kept putting SSS.
[SPEAKER_00]: They had an in time.
[SPEAKER_00]: They had two different member white dwarfs over years of steel Legion rules.
[SPEAKER_00]: Great.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's basically an armor.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was steel Legion and their own steel Legion and the member armor company gives after.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was still Legion, the reasons happened is that they were based on the German Paratroopers of World War II, because they had gas masks, so that's it.
[SPEAKER_01]: They looked, Yellow Tancoats looked super cool, and their story is not like, well, also their world is called Armageddon.
[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't called Fluffy Princess.
[SPEAKER_01]: pleasure palace and the fun part of the story.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's actually two stories around these guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: The first one which we'll go into is the first time that they repelled an invasion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's set this up though.
[SPEAKER_00]: Armageddon is they don't completely tell you how big, but it's like a
[SPEAKER_00]: Jupiter-esque planets one of the largest planets in the Imperium both in size and of course population and it's a high world yeah but it's also gigantic they I don't think it's Jupiter-esque big but it's it's put it this way they said it was on magnitudes bigger than Terra how about that so in
[SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorite stories about them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the first War of Armageddon, which is technically Persian Pio Records.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and by technically, I mean, when Angron shows up with corn demons, yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: The world is invaded by, yeah, Angron, the world leaders, and corn demons.
[SPEAKER_00]: all of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: The space wolves and the gray knights come and to fight along with Armageddon Steel Legion.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were such bad asses on us and they actually repel and run and all of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: which you're like, well, it's kind of short story.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why do you care?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because what happens next is more important.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because my boy Logan Grimner shows up the town.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the inquisition decides, we can't let people know about chaos because we never do a cause and effect and we don't learn from things that have happened previously.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's before you dive into the inquisition.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about what the citizens of Armageddon just saw.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they don't know chaos exists.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're now aware that there was a rebel, a civil war within the Imperium that the Imperium won.
[SPEAKER_01]: What they just see is not anger on the primar.
[SPEAKER_01]: They see anger on the demon prince.
[SPEAKER_01]: The demon primar.
[SPEAKER_01]: The demon primar.
[SPEAKER_01]: They see world leaders, including bizzerkers, who are pretty heavily possessed.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they also see their deposits, and they see blood letters, they see blood thirsters, all of this stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the inquisition is just like, yeah, we're going to need to confiscate all your cell phones.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they decide to kill everybody.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what my boy.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you're close.
[SPEAKER_00]: God damn it's.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's multiple levels.
[SPEAKER_01]: The inquisition getting some trouble here.
[SPEAKER_01]: So first off, the inquisition orders and exterminate us to the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know how.
[SPEAKER_00]: Chomping at the bid aye.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, and I'm going to give you, I'm going to let you get it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry.
[SPEAKER_01]: The lords of terror overruled them and say, yeah, this is actually one of the most important planets in our system for production.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's too unique.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're not going to level it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because in external analysis, we level the planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So instead, they agree to take every single citizen and chemically sterilize them and put them into a work camp.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, this is what's called a dick move.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: These guys just repelled a demon invasion also these guys don't you're you're underselling the shit out of this these guys were Heroes in a video game Esca.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were They weren't just heroes in a video game where you would play the video game and say yeah, that plots too far fetch.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way there's no way you could succeed that
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they just won in a holy shit what just happened and they also held the line like just geez like nobody's business and this is what you get.
[SPEAKER_00]: Who?
[SPEAKER_01]: Then a few of the army getting to steal Legion.
[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of know what's going on and go to leave the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they live in, they live in, they live in droves and transports.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're not talking like four guys jumping in a ship.
[SPEAKER_01]: They grab cities where there's a people basically and we're getting off planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then we haven't, we haven't talked to the Grey Knights yet.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Grey Knights are the Inquisition.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Grey Knights see these ships going and decide, I'm blown out of the sky.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they do, who in the great nights open fire on imperial transports, full of imperial citizens.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the space wolves see this happen to people who just fought next to them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And one next to them, go ahead, bread.
[SPEAKER_00]: And my boy Logan Grimnar comes out of the booth and literally teleports on the bridge
[SPEAKER_00]: of the gray nights, which was a great night's Inquisition ship at the time, and pretty much says, nope, these are heroes of the Imperia, and I will personally murder every single person on this ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you guys do anything else.
[SPEAKER_00]: One more, if you shoot them one more time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Effectively with big guys in one line, little guys in another, bring your weekend shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm ready.
[SPEAKER_01]: and just people understand how badass who is by Logan Grimmar.
[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't teleport onto the bridge as much as Astropaths and like backups.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are great nights on this on this, which for everybody else, they're basically considered nobody even knows who the fuck they are kind of.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Logan Grimmar is like, I'm gonna kick all your asses.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like at every one of you.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then one of them went, yeah, he actually might do it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, he showed up with just his boys basically.
[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like Logan sent an army.
[SPEAKER_00]: He went, what?
[SPEAKER_00]: The dudes right behind me and me are gonna go door to door kicking the shit out of everyone.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're letting you know right now your options are don't do this or get your ass kicked and they chose don't do this and that's a badass story.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that luckily does he affect the all right.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the story's going but the truth is they do repot the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't ruin my ending.
[SPEAKER_01]: I did almost nothing, but it's a cool story.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it was cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Five hundred years into the future, we get to what is probably the more important part of the story.
[SPEAKER_00]: And also a bigger battle, which sounds weird.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was five hundred years later, Gazgo shows up.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not great for your plan.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not great.
[SPEAKER_01]: And just and we cover his network cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: So guys goal invades Armageddon and also about fourteen other places.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but he brings with him all of the works to Armageddon.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there she is, wrecking.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is where the origin of Billy Boy should have been, because Gazgol brings the biggest and the best for those Orcs fans.
[SPEAKER_00]: He brings the biggest and the best.
[SPEAKER_00]: Gazgol brings, you saw it would definitely not test these guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: He has all of the big guys with him.
[SPEAKER_01]: But he runs into a problem, which is one of my favorite models actually in the Pure Guard line.
[SPEAKER_01]: Commissar Yark.
[SPEAKER_01]: who is, and he's in kind of one of the classic GW stories, he's just the Commissar inside of the Haiti's hive.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the planetary governor, whoever was, who's in charge of hype, was an idiot.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Commissar Yark takes command.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like instantly, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it goes not politely, by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he, he, Commissar Yark does not,
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure he was holding his gun in his well then power claw because he ripped it off over his power claw comes after the sense of how he gets his power claw.
[SPEAKER_01]: But so Congress or Yark just says, nope.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going down like this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And remember, there's a kind of a cool thing about the
[SPEAKER_01]: high that he's in, the high of Hades, manufacturers, Hellhounds.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hellhounds, by the way, are a tank that is not a transport tank.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, why it's not a transport tank?
[SPEAKER_01]: It transports, it transports flamethrowers.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's one.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is a Camaro chassis flamethrowers.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, Camaro is the the go-to transports, the armored
[SPEAKER_01]: tank.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the, it's the, it's the base chassis.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a base chassis of everything in your guard uses outside of labor.
[SPEAKER_00]: And instead of, they're like, hey, we could just use this, but instead of putting people inside, how about if we just put the entire thing in fillet with fuel?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we put a giant flamer when I say giant, I mean giant.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're in flamer.
[SPEAKER_01]: The addition one is what explode.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was self-adjusted.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was fantastic.
[SPEAKER_01]: the best part.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they put a giant flamer and Yark just says, we've got the answer is yes, because it's again a high world that produces actually billions of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he just he proceeds to burn the orcs over and over and lines and lines.
[SPEAKER_00]: He puts well, the best part is
[SPEAKER_00]: one of the reasons that the rule for this is, because in the story, Yark puts all these up, and Hans used to just explode crazily.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, Yark literally made them, he would push up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hellhounds go as fast as humanly possible, and push up a line, flame the horse kills many people as possible, and then as soon as they, with the guys inside, they weren't told, but as soon as they,
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, as soon as they basically got to the tanks, the Orcs would beat the shit out of the tank, the tank would explode and kill probably twice as many as the original flame did.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what this does is this war of attrition he puts on the York's buys time.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of a key thing within the Imperial Guard.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not always about winning.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's about buying enough time for the winning force to show up.
[SPEAKER_01]: In this case, it was blood angels with orbital bombardment.
[SPEAKER_00]: John, I think you might to say the Emperor protects sort of.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you believe enough, and also you live long enough, you'll be in the hellhound.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, the blinding does arrive at this action, and this is what turns the tide, and guys will have to flee.
[SPEAKER_00]: And give the blinding just credit.
[SPEAKER_00]: The blinding just bomb the shit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a full blown orbital environment.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, also the orcs kind of funneled.
[SPEAKER_00]: The orcs are so pushed in.
[SPEAKER_00]: The orcs are almost orcs on orcs kind of thing at this point in time.
[SPEAKER_00]: When they bomb them from space, you were putting for those of us that played in template days, you were getting max people onto the template for what they would cast on all the positive and negative, something in order version.
[SPEAKER_00]: Templates for the win, baby.
[SPEAKER_00]: God.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, they just came with a fist fight.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's with templates where it's like... So, here's the thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I heard gas isn't like super rational, chill guy willing to take a loss on the channel and just let it slide.
[SPEAKER_00]: What?
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh no, he did not.
[SPEAKER_01]: gas comes back.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we now we're into the third war of Armageddon.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're fifty seven years later, gas goes back and begins his invasion on the Haiti's hive because Yarek needs the death.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, this makes zero sense, tactically.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Gas just wants Yarek's face on the end of his claw.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was close.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yarek, by the way, after the after Armageddon, too, Yarek got all kinds of messed up.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is about to
[SPEAKER_01]: half.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's fifty percent like cyber news.
[SPEAKER_00]: But also one of his cybernetic parts is he ripped a power claw off an orc and had a warbox and had it installed in his body as a F U to the orcs.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's in resin, but it's a really good model.
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys should find one.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got one and I love
[SPEAKER_00]: It just looks so cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cause the whole thing is is him just going, what bring your shit.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got a robotic eye in a power claw.
[SPEAKER_01]: Watch this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's also from one of your guys because after I got done killing him, I took this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this time, jazz comes back and y'all, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: This time, he is basically the majority of the Imperial Navy, Imperial Guard and Space Marines.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a fighting this war.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, because of this, this time, the original time, the gas came in.
[SPEAKER_00]: Armageddon, too, gas was doing a very wide
[SPEAKER_00]: a log invasion and the imperium is kind of taken on a wares.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're fighting all over the place and this happened, stalling maneuver again.
[SPEAKER_00]: This time, Gaz does not make any problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I don't care if the imperium knows about me.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's showing up with the house, but also the Imperium shows up with the calendar.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Imperium is here to fight because this was we covers New York cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: This second war, it's a third war of Armageddon, but guys is second invasion.
[SPEAKER_01]: actually put the impairment of back foot and it was a chance that it works could destroy the impairment.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this became the focal point became our agenda is luckily.
[SPEAKER_01]: It began as had a score to suck.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the big thing about this is it's a big deal.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not an orcast on this, but we, again, it's return of the Jedi because gas is invading, I actually think it's fourteen systems.
[SPEAKER_01]: I believe it is for, I think you're right in that, but he's a bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's whatever it is here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: to the, this is why everyone loves the steel region.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yarric holds the one again and again.
[SPEAKER_01]: This time he basically fights gas until gas gets bored and leaves.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's really the story.
[SPEAKER_00]: He fanoses.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he bails out at that point.
[SPEAKER_01]: Once again, the steel legion went.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, this is the steel legion that comes out of this, and they become similar to the Talon, in which they are largely an armor division.
[SPEAKER_01]: But whereas a Talon or a division that kind of lightening strikes at Lehman russes, like they get extra in the game, they've had extra movement, that kind of stuff, the steel legion are more of a traditional armor.
[SPEAKER_00]: They take it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they move slowly.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is almost World War I.
[SPEAKER_00]: trench warfare kind of thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, tanks.
[SPEAKER_01]: They think dig in.
[SPEAKER_01]: They set up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they move.
[SPEAKER_01]: They move forward slowly.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're a blow-a-hole in the line.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they blow-a-hole the line.
[SPEAKER_01]: Then they all come out and flood that hole and just overwhelm their opposition.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Armageddon Steel Legion are extremely popular within the Imperium because of this.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are used in what you would consider more like.
[SPEAKER_01]: even killed conflicts.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can bring that well and they actually can win the windows.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're considered for a while.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were the fate before Cadia became the face face.
[SPEAKER_00]: Steel Legion was.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they were the still Legion was the key part of the game until.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is what four, five, six, seven edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: Myth thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Katie and with Katie is obviously eighth, ninth and
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, fifth edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: This would be fifth edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I would say.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying they were, again, two, two different white dwarves.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they were always that Katie, me, Katie was in second edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're all in second edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just more matter.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have to give up.
[SPEAKER_00]: People are going to throw stuff out of me if I do on the Katie.
[SPEAKER_00]: Katie has always been there and they've always been bananas because they've been up there key piece of the Lord.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get into this in a second.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: The only genius got a lot more of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they were the steel legion for three-ish additions, where the poster boys.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Katie is now the poster boy of that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll get to why in a bit, but yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So kind of actually, to Brad's point there, one thing that we should mention is that we've now just done a bunch of, with these add-along rough writers who can go screw themselves.
[SPEAKER_01]: These have that all that people we've talked about so far don't have models.
[SPEAKER_01]: So now we'll dive into the three legions that actually do have models in the current.
[SPEAKER_00]: and a lot of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the first one are cadets, which are, it not, I don't know if I just say, have you seen Rambo John?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, none of the Rambo one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen Rambo two?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, have you seen the Rambo that was good?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, Loan.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, the shitty ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Rambo two and Rambo three.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't seen them, don't, don't.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna save you time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, go and see them.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's totally, Brad's, Brad's in his fifties.
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't listen to me.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: Please.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've been, I've been wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got my forties.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm wrong about a lot of stuff, but those will be so.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, we'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_01]: The catechans for whatever reason were based off Rambo.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, they wear green fatigue pants.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't wear a shirt.
[SPEAKER_01]: sometimes of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: They sometimes wear a vest period, just a vest.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, not an armored vest, just a vest.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just a vest.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like just a, you know, to put your, I had a, I need a place to keep my extra knives in a canteen.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what their vest is for.
[SPEAKER_00]: You could wear a flat armor, you know, which would deflect some bullets and stuff, or
[SPEAKER_00]: or you could basically work out a lot apparently.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because the pathogens are jacked.
[SPEAKER_00]: Those dudes are, well, they are jacked.
[SPEAKER_01]: The gans are they're also larger than the average than the average.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're significantly larger.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they say, the problem with the word significantly is because it's a space frame.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, they're kind of in between.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but they're like, two, fifty.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're big boys.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're big.
[SPEAKER_00]: How about this?
[SPEAKER_00]: For the people that are listening to this cast, hey, think of the biggest dude you ever saw.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, I would have, you know, I'll call him myself up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, damn it.
[SPEAKER_01]: What's the guy placed door?
[SPEAKER_00]: Hemsworth.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hemsworth is small for a cabbage.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's the average cabbage.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can tell you how tall he is, but.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's six something.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, look at, I just want you guys to know, I have no idea how tall anyone is.
[SPEAKER_00]: I judge people by the angle that I look up to talk to them when I talk to them.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm six foot four.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm a different perspective than Brad.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not.
[SPEAKER_01]: Brad is less than six foot four.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, going on to college, yeah, though.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, a college in is a jungle death world.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is also, this is so, your Lord's cool, actually.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're Lord.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're playing at Lord's so cool, but also, you know, I miss this in the terrain, GW.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna stop talking shit about it for just a second.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, hopefully you're here, my plea.
[SPEAKER_00]: I miss the death worlds.
[SPEAKER_00]: I miss the terrain that tried to kill you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you ever paint a terrain bread?
[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to pay terrain one time and then I didn't.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: We, those of us who paint our own terrain do not miss the world terrain.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was so good guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so hard to sleep and it's so useless.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, it used to have cool rules.
[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, Katta Chen was actually kind of a funny story.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium, I guess the thing, this, they had probes who knows, but they came back and told them when they were doing the great crusade.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this is a jungle death world.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing there, don't bother.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they said, go through it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they got to the world and found eight hundred people who were just living there like,
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's hard.
[SPEAKER_01]: What?
[SPEAKER_00]: You like, of course, somebody died today.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what happens every day.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the entire planet is made every animal is a carnivore and every plant is poisonous.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I was just saying, basically imagine a world where everything is a Venus flytrap, but they're twenty feet tall.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I have a personal theory that Kattachin was one of the two missing primarx landed.
[SPEAKER_01]: And eight of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they were like, I've heard God, they're like, oh, I'm here to see Quartoria, so we have a stupid name he would have thought of.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's just like, who?
[SPEAKER_01]: And Boris, you'll never mind, there's nobody here, don't worry about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys would be in the Imperium, cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so the count of chance are for this reason, kind of badass.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have no origin story, but everyone else we've talked about at this point, and everyone we will talk about has some great conflict that they overcame.
[SPEAKER_01]: The catch-hands just were born on Kattachan and went, yet in die, the act of surviving to adulthood on Kattachan is one of the hardest things to do in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And in the best part is they don't have rituals.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't do like space wolves do it go go figure it out kind of shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, they just go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, man, our world sucks so much.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can't have that kind of shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: We just go if you survived.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well done.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well done.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what's cool, but makes the catch ends really fun is just a couple little elements I like about them.
[SPEAKER_01]: First, they're extremely distrusting about sight.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we've extremely distrusting.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
[SPEAKER_00]: That's how you want to put it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Continue on John, tell me more about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, for example, it seems like you're low down plague.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's just a little bit on a low level.
[SPEAKER_01]: For example, they don't use rat wings for snipers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They only use their.
[SPEAKER_01]: on a more extreme level for some reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the impereent can't figure out what it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: The commas are to get assigned a kind of chance.
[SPEAKER_01]: All failed drainage school because they just keep having to blow up.
[SPEAKER_00]: They kill everyone that's not from catch and they get assigned to them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here we go.
[SPEAKER_01]: That everyone will get to the exception.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the commissar thing, actually, all of the commissar.
[SPEAKER_01]: And all of them, hundred percent get assigned to the catachand forces.
[SPEAKER_01]: Miss handle a grenade at some point and just expand.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they literally joky smurf everything.
[SPEAKER_01]: There is one amazing exception now, and I love this.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the Ogrin.
[SPEAKER_00]: They love them.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Ogrin, the Catechan, meet the Ogrin, and they're just want to hug them from day one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they both are giant, smell horrible as individuals.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because the Catechan's do not bathe, and they're from a jungle planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: And both just love stabbing things.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is bonkersville how much they love often.
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, it is great.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just so can it change an organ just the impurement just use put on the other.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually sad that they don't have a special role for this because of the fact that they're just you should have entire regiments that you have extra organ squads.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, with tons of if they would, I would happily build out in a catch and who grand army and just run that everywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can we talk about the what a couple things about the organ are quite.
[SPEAKER_00]: Please.
[SPEAKER_00]: one of my favorites.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, organs are giant bennies, which just, and one of my favorite things about them is they're afraid of the dark.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you have to coax them in transports.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just love everything about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the catagins love everything about this, too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the catagins are also like, no, it's okay, buddy.
[SPEAKER_01]: The catagins basically hold their hand in the dark.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's fantastic.
[SPEAKER_01]: Durable.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the catch and oren thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and there's a lot of these stories of like when they're fighting together, we're like the Ogrins, we'll be in danger.
[SPEAKER_01]: The catch-hands just come to our rescue and vice versa.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are, they're beef.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just to go into the catch-hands ourselves, they're effectively deployed.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you've seen any of the predator movies, that's where they get deployed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they fight in jungles, which means in them, you know, now we're in tantodicians or in the liethon, these guys fight dear ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what they're really.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, a hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that they hunt down, as we talk to the dear and cast, the lifters are masters of cam of logic and blending in.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I catch answer, master the finding the lifters and and stabbing.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're, this is actually super funny.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cause like,
[SPEAKER_00]: There's lecturers that have been just no one can find them.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the candidates are like, he's right there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right there, I'm like, and then I got him.
[SPEAKER_01]: I got him a Pokemon Pokemon Pokemon Pokemon.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, that guy's been around for fifty years and we can never find him.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I found him in lunch.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was like, I was eating his sandwich and he was right there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So from Catacens, we'll move on to the most famous of the guards, the cadence.
[SPEAKER_01]: The cadence are also, I think, the reason why I'm using this shift, perhaps I'm going to have from a poster boy thing to the cadence, the cadence look like modern soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They actually wear normal helmets.
[SPEAKER_01]: They wear flat arms.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just ordinary soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just
[SPEAKER_00]: They are the Western forces of pick your country, that is your force.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that is why they're so popular, though, because they're very relatable.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cadians are the best of everyone's country.
[SPEAKER_01]: I will say the Cadian, the challenge of the Cadian is that they've become the ultramarines of
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you either hate or not.
[SPEAKER_01]: The problem with the old my issue and I got had an ultramarmy.
[SPEAKER_01]: The issue people have with the ultramates in my opinion is that the ultramates there's black.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are their space Marines who follow the space and follow the code X and do a lot of so many.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, twins are actually awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know, both of them don't have what I like, what I had.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's, I'm a Canadian fan.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Katie, I'm a better artist.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm saying, the key is better.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Cadients don't have so much lower in history, yes, because the Cadients are a world set up the stage for the Katie.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because Katie up is, well, was holy shit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Acadia was, he's had a lot of a face.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, Acadia was actually found by the lower guard, pre-horus heresy, in which this was the world that he discovered that chaos gods exist, because it was actually run or popular, but anyway, it was published by chaos cults.
[SPEAKER_01]: He then wiped the planet after leaving, fast forward a few thousand years of the Imperium finds this planet in this settlement.
[SPEAKER_01]: But wait, that's not all the backstory.
[SPEAKER_01]: It also was a Necron world at one point where they built high-lion's everywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the Imperium had no idea what these pylons do.
[SPEAKER_01]: Except for one more piece of backstory because why have two when you can have three?
[SPEAKER_01]: This world looks at the eye of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: It looks at, it is in front of.
[SPEAKER_00]: It isn't like it's often the distance.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is, hey, man, I'm going to go outside and look up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, look, the eye of terror.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm going to take those three stories and bring them all together to why I said them kind of as a quick hit.
[SPEAKER_01]: This planet was sitting just outside of where the Eldar Kingdom primarily was.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_01]: when Slonash was born, it should have exploded and pushed the immaterial into the material.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the Necron Pilons on Cadia held it in place.
[SPEAKER_00]: They basically catch your submitted it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so as a result, Cadia is this remarkably important world, because it is a world that is populated by news.
[SPEAKER_01]: was a fine was that sits just outside of the only path that Abadan and the rest of the chaos had to enter the material.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they do this for, I don't know, ten thousand years.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ten thousand years of this, fifteen years of game of actual gameplay lore.
[SPEAKER_00]: They actually know more.
[SPEAKER_01]: More than
[SPEAKER_01]: And we, twenty side, we didn't break it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thirty, because now I don't, you know, the C. K. D was in the second issue.
[SPEAKER_00]: The second issue made reference to K. D. Yeah, and they blew it up in the day.
[SPEAKER_00]: They think team.
[SPEAKER_00]: Twenty ten.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, looking at over twenty years.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: The twenty five twenty twenty five years of lore.
[SPEAKER_01]: As a result, obviously, Katie, the Imperium goes, well, yeah, that place is important.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they stage colon, carry the one, everybody in Katie.
[SPEAKER_00]: Katie is guns upon guns upon guns.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, hey, I pulled up my gun, which includes another separate gun.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what they what the Imperium turns Katie into is it is a high world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do the amount of people there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is a forge world because it's also making all of the weapons.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a huge right there.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is a big deal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Katie has self-contained.
[SPEAKER_00]: Katie is one of the few planets that is making
[SPEAKER_00]: the ammo and the hardware at the same time.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's also a fortress world because they also, it's okay, it is this, as you might expect, the people who grow up on Kenya don't do it to become poets.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is when we said rather a while back.
[SPEAKER_00]: For a chance, we were actually for shanneling.
[SPEAKER_00]: But Cadia doesn't have a ten percent go to the garden.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cadia has, hey, do you live on Cadia?
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you're part of the Imperial Guard.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just, no, yes, just yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this doesn't like an adult thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: They had something called White Shields, which as we discussed before, Brad's love.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm never going to live this out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, the Katie, so they have to go to White Shields, which are children who get engaged in actual combat when they put them in the easy ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they learn battle tactics.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm not letting this go.
[SPEAKER_00]: In our notes, John, they get engaged in some of the more minor.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, get it engaged.
[SPEAKER_01]: I did right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm proud of me for the minor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, come me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Upon joining the guard, the Cadians are just the love throughout the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are as much as we talked about of Australian Firstborn.
[SPEAKER_01]: The difference is the Australian Firstborn are raised for combat and they're taught the ways of combat, but it's taught on Vastroya.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's different learning on Cadia where you can go fight a demon when you're ten.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Cadians can fight.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Cadians have a special forces named Casserkins who can fight.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Cadians are maybe the most elite of the Imperial Guard.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's all they do.
[SPEAKER_00]: But also, it's not a, we're preparing for things.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, we're just doing things because, oh, I forgot to mention.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cash shows up all the time.
[SPEAKER_01]: The constant warfare.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we talk about the, uh, Abadans Crusades, but there's a lot of them in between them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And as we said, the only way up until recent forty-day history for the forces of chaos to enter the material, is either through demonic possession or go past Katie.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they're just fighting what's happening?
[SPEAKER_00]: We're fighting.
[SPEAKER_00]: When?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: all the time.
[SPEAKER_01]: A couple of unique things about the cadence though.
[SPEAKER_01]: First is they actually use psychers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're the only ones who actively use them heavily.
[SPEAKER_01]: They kind of have to.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, those are so dumb though, because they pretend that the fact that they're eight feet away from the eye of terror isn't the reason they have a shit ton of psyched.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, for some reason, it's a bunch of psyched.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we just wait for no reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: But interestingly, not, but not all other psychers end up on black ships.
[SPEAKER_01]: They actually do raise them on the one with the one with the help of the ask to help out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of universe.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, also, they're super okay with stabbing Tim in the head if they think even remotely acts a little bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you go, hey, man, I kind of like in everything bagel instead of an onion bagel, they just stab you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the demarcades of Rihanna Omnicadians after Catechans were as the Catechans have a massive distrust when it was not a Catechans.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Catechans are actually much more open.
[SPEAKER_01]: So for example, the inquisition was very heavily involved in Catechans and were welcome on Catechans because
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the thing, the English is hunting down, we can see it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they're really starting out.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Katie is one of the worlds that they just go, yeah, they know my case.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they just deal with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so they're very unique.
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, they have psychers in their army.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have their own special forces.
[SPEAKER_01]: Even the way that the Katie's wage war is very different.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is a they are a
[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of, ultimately, is now their homogeneity of all the other chapters in which they are stoic.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are good with armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are good with speed.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are good with stealth.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they fight, this is, again, you did a good thing on, they're the ultra marines of guard because where do they fight?
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've been deployed to everywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Katie has been, I mean, nine thousand years since Katie was founded the most recent time.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe every Abba Don Black crew sings up for barring maybe one or two with the six or seventh.
[SPEAKER_01]: went around the way.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's one where he, where he snuck around.
[SPEAKER_00]: He, that's when he stole the artifact.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's the one where he used a demon as a tele, as an astronaut.
[SPEAKER_00]: He did his a little guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I ended up fighting for it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, quick, we're going to do a separate cast in the fall of Katie, but what we should talk about real quick is Lord Castellan or soccer, Creed, it's just Creed.
[SPEAKER_01]: just call him create.
[SPEAKER_01]: He fought actually against Abdon and the thirteenth black crusade and did everything.
[SPEAKER_01]: This dude's such a badass.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Creed is brave.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is tactically genius.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's a brilliant tactician.
[SPEAKER_01]: They rose from from low-born ranks.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he rose from nothing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And just was better than everyone else except for
[SPEAKER_00]: So number Keras?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: There is one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, no, I was just saying he's better than anything else with the exception of stopping a blackstone fortress slamming into the city.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Katie doesn't exist anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the rally cry is Katie stands, but Katie got blown up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, as we'll cover it, spoiler, Katie got destroyed.
[SPEAKER_01]: As me covers the Abadon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Abadon used the nuclear option and just broke the planet in half.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it kind of, it was a big sacrifice for Abadon to be honest with you.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like we lost that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And to be fair, the Cadians were fighting till the end.
[SPEAKER_01]: The planet gave out before the Cadians did.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that is true.
[SPEAKER_00]: That is, they were still shooting people as the planet was separated.
[SPEAKER_01]: Separating and they were getting on the transports to lead.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the cool thing with the kids, if I do like about this, it's the very recent part of the history.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they've lost their home planet, but so many, Katie and successfully got on transport and leave the billions.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: that the Cadiens still technically genetically stand.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they're continuing to raise ranks and doing foundings out of this.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Cadiens are also super willing to talk shit to other places.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're actually, the period actually sends the remnants of Cadiya kind of all over the place to boost the morale because Cadiya gives no shits.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you get all these random
[SPEAKER_00]: Incursions where people are like losing their mind.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, we're gonna thing and the Canadians are like whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: Watch this is is Abaddon here?
[SPEAKER_00]: No?
[SPEAKER_00]: Why are you bitching?
[SPEAKER_01]: Last week we fought fourteen greater demons and a million demons and we won.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what are you upset about?
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there's a rebellion and you are the settle down.
[SPEAKER_01]: That being said, Kians do tend to be deployed against chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is one of the areas that we obviously will go against tyrannids.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why bother with a towel?
[SPEAKER_01]: Works.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't show them to get this episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do love the fact that we have, this makes no sense, but I need to tell people this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because in the middle of our notes, out of nowhere, there's just a one.
[SPEAKER_00]: The random note has nothing to do with everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anything anybody, by the way, John just put, they don't use stupid horses.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't.
[SPEAKER_00]: It has nothing to do with anything we're talking about.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to put a note there about like, yeah, they sell it tank warfare.
[SPEAKER_01]: They sell it at trench warfare.
[SPEAKER_01]: They said, oh, we're over there.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't even try it horse warfare because it's objectively stupid.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is legitimately ABCD and there is a one.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it just don't use horses.
[SPEAKER_00]: But by the way, by itself has absolutely nothing to do with anything else.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just wanted to say screw the horses, but it's just so dumb.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I honestly wish my slower McCarrieus wasn't one of the horse.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where I'm at at this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's technically not.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's on a mechanical thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he could be a tank.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I mean, yes, also, but it's not.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now we're going to cover the last thing we'll close on is what I call the Bubba Fett of Imperial Guard.
[SPEAKER_01]: And for those who don't understand what I'm referring to, Bubba Fett in the entirety of the Star Wars trilogy was six and a half minutes.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's how much time screen time he got in like nine hours of movie.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm including the extended guts, six and a half minutes.
[SPEAKER_01]: But Boba Fett sold more figurines than anyone in Guy Walker did.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as a result, fast forward, thirty years, they had to write them in.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they wrote it in very well.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is where it's a very good kind of correlation to Cree.
[SPEAKER_01]: Creeg wore a side story that got really popular.
[SPEAKER_01]: And GW has leaned in super hard to this.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Deathcore Creeg are
[SPEAKER_00]: Some bad dudes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they are awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's stories array and I have, I think, over a hundred of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm a big fan.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do creak.
[SPEAKER_01]: So creak those don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're meant to resemble a world war one French and German trench fighters.
[SPEAKER_01]: People think it's just German.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you look at it, they're actually French and German.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the same because a guy wearing a gas mask and a long coat carrying a rifle.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's actually not that it was kind of everybody.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, one of the things that you put down, which is I think is relevant, all of the models are modeled with a shovel.
[SPEAKER_00]: Look at your models.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you have death card, you know, I mean, you know, it's, everyone has a shovel.
[SPEAKER_01]: A gas mask and a shovel, and I love them so much.
[SPEAKER_01]: They create models and you get especially the resin ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have horse, I mean, again, I just share horses, but they actually have horse drawn artillery, which is stupid, but they have, it's meant to be the most grim dark of the grim dark.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're writers, and I know you hate the horses, but the death court writers had some of the best roles.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not building horses.
[SPEAKER_01]: All I'm saying is, shout out to Tallah de Verizon.
[SPEAKER_01]: We made an army.
[SPEAKER_00]: that legitimately went, can we bring enough guard guys on guard and ad Mac people riding horses to get in the way so hard that your opponent could never leave his deployment zone?
[SPEAKER_00]: And the answer is, yes, we did come up with an army.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if he killed anybody, but he won the tournament.
[SPEAKER_01]: Still stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, anyway, I essentially want to create though, here's what I say.
[SPEAKER_01]: The models are awesome, minus the horses, but the stories actually exceptional badass.
[SPEAKER_01]: In my mind, this is the best of all the lower stories.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, Creeg was a high world.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it was.
[SPEAKER_01]: Very, very successful high world.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's planetary governors, though, were a little bit unstable.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is it at least?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where you're going with a little unstable.
[SPEAKER_00]: I guess, you know, colligulate had a couple like, like, a little offcoming moments here and there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what the story goes, the kind of the quick hit in the story is surprise surprise surprise.
[SPEAKER_01]: These governors decide the Imperium's asking for too much.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium is not to be trusted.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when they started doing this, they started lying to the Imperium about how much they were raising on the planet and how much what they were actually producing.
[SPEAKER_01]: To the point where they eventually turned on the Imperium and declared their independence from the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: This didn't go super well with the populist.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, the populist wasn't okay with this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he full blown civil war breaks out on the, and this is the, this is a high world.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're talking tens of billions of people.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, at war.
[SPEAKER_01]: The, but
[SPEAKER_01]: kind of like the way you'd expect this to go.
[SPEAKER_01]: The imperegovers had control the planetary defense force, most of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they put down the rebellion and begin kind of like turning the whole planet to themselves with the exception of one highway, which was, which was led by Colonel Yurton.
[SPEAKER_01]: of the eighty-third budget.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's specifically of the eighty-third budget.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, this dude just decided F of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care how long this is going to take.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, I'm gonna make these dudes' lives.
[SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't even like, I'm gonna win.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just gonna ruin every day of these guys' lives.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're in secures his hive and it's him against twenty hives.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's his billions against them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so he calls back to the impairments.
[SPEAKER_01]: He says, hey, we've got this, this is a civil war here, help us out.
[SPEAKER_01]: The impairments come back with.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you guys are pretty far away.
[SPEAKER_00]: So kind of... Which is... This is one of my least favorites on this, because the Imperium never responds like this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the story's cool, so who cares?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so when they come back, when they say to them, like, look, we're gonna send a force.
[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be a while when they get there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Basically, if they get there and you're alive, cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: If they get there and you're not, we're gonna exterminate out as the planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: So also cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, you do you click, and you're in, has to do something.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, he may have went too far here.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, wait a second, where he should go.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're at him, since he thinks his thesis is totally good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing wrong with what he does next.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you're at him has a body in the ad mech called Archmago's real and grill reveals to him that underneath the one high that he's holding is a metric ton of nuclear weapons.
[SPEAKER_00]: He has enough weapons to destroy the planet several times over, and your doesn't even pause.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, just real quick, this is also from doing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Continue.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're in the science that, well, effectively, on the Emperor's anniversary also, of being ascended to the golden throne.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_00]: That he is going to drop several people's elbows on the planet and he wrecks the planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: What he does is he just irradiates the a nuclear waste.
[SPEAKER_00]: He blows up himself.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's his own hide hits.
[SPEAKER_01]: He hits every hive, everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: He blows the planet up.
[SPEAKER_01]: But he knew he was going to do this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So him and his entire hive went down into the ground.
[SPEAKER_01]: The other hives on this is happening.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they just went from this like
[SPEAKER_00]: thousand to one disadvantage to now maybe a like borderline two to one advantage you can see also talking about being wow vengeance is your life they go on a I need someone to see me because I need to talk to my hands
[SPEAKER_00]: five hundred year guerrilla warfare where all of his descendants murder every single one of the ruling class.
[SPEAKER_01]: They go on.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're under selling that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be honest.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's five hundred years of murder.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hundred-year trench war.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exit loads on this planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the Kriegsman, because this planet is ruined.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, they messed her ruin a highway.
[SPEAKER_00]: He blew up.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just sent nooks off everywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: He sent nooks off effectively ground zero.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and just wipes them.
[SPEAKER_00]: The injured clothes.
[SPEAKER_01]: He took five hundred years of battle.
[SPEAKER_01]: They eventually do kill everyone.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, fun side note on this.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperial Governor who declared independence against the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: We have no idea who his name is because the Imperium has scrubbed that name from all records.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no evidence who he was.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, the five hundred years go by.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium was up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, pause on that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Remember,
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, they Kaiser's so say these people.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're selling it short because the Kriegsman found every single dissenter over the five hundred years and killed all of them and every effectively everyone they knew.
[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like, hey man, we killed like the governor.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.
[SPEAKER_00]: They killed the governor, the dude he bought bread from.
[SPEAKER_01]: And every season on team, you know, death core of Craig is death.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they killed all of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: My personal favorite part of the story, though, is the Imperium shows up.
[SPEAKER_01]: And these guys are still kind of like huffing and puffing from stabbing the last dude.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was saying this just happened.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oh, hey guys, we're here now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good job.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, you're still part of the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we still need our tithe.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you go ahead and give us a regimen, that'd be great.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the creaks says, okay, they don't give them one regimen.
[SPEAKER_01]: They give them one to me, which is so insane.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they give me a problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is not from a world that's a lush world with tons of people.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's only people that are underground going my only goal in life is to stab another dude in the face.
[SPEAKER_01]: Five hundred years of war, the creeks have been building below ground and expanding and they turned their high world into a war world.
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't do anything else.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the creek produces, I mean, they to this day modern day produce over ten regiments a year.
[SPEAKER_01]: Most planets struggled to produce one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, there's a lot of
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of cloning and other weird shit that's going on here.
[SPEAKER_01]: The downside about Craig Warriors is that when you see them, they're always in gas masks.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, the reason one of the reasons behind that is that the imperial might not allow them to be army or a police station.
[SPEAKER_01]: They actually look like, yeah, they are mutated.
[SPEAKER_00]: They each goes, hey man, you guys have some serious meat.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are there from a planet that has been hit with every nuclear weapon.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they just sat and was cloning that actually.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was saying they basically use cloning technology.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm air quoting the shit out of that.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're using the jiffy whoo.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cloning.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: To make, we're just going to make people.
[SPEAKER_00]: Are they, do we know how good this cloning technology is?
[SPEAKER_00]: Not great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is everything irradiated?
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is this going to make things jacked up?
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we are in breeding people with radiation poisoning in the genes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's for some reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't that being said?
[SPEAKER_01]: Craigsman and fight.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're working in the real good fighting?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Poison worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know who's bad at fighting in Poison worlds?
[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone else.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to try to pause that over.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm flipping over next.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it creates men are also really cool in the lore.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're known for just not carrying on casualties.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's like whatever, like I was born to die.
[SPEAKER_01]: So now I'm gonna die today.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they are, let's just say they get some laxed days to go view points on the distance between their soldiers and where you'll drop our children.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just gonna say if you wanna see a cool animation of it, they're not in the main character, either remotely.
[SPEAKER_00]: But if you watch the X tonight on a Warhammer Plus, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: a treesman hits a towel-style suit in the face with a maze several times.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what's great.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are amazing, but their whole thing is worked off when we can handle toxic environments.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what they go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway.
[SPEAKER_01]: With that, we'll call that that's effectively the end of all the key regiments.
[SPEAKER_01]: If we missed one, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is all the ones I saw in the code X and stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: These are also the cool ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I think we've done a deep enough dive.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be doing more deep as in the pure guard.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because it may be more of the most popular factions from a lower standpoint.
[SPEAKER_01]: We look at Black Library, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because of ease, because of you, because it's easy ones to write about.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to throw out something with a discord.
[SPEAKER_00]: So in the future, we've done a lot of imperium stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: We will be doing assassins by themselves.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a zero chance we were going to stick assassins on the end of something.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're wildly too cool to not be the ever sore alone is thirty minutes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the between what do you can do stories around them?
[SPEAKER_00]: Those guys are crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we will do a full episode of that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen multiple quotes over the last month or so about assassins.
[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't want to put them included with anything else because of the fact that they're.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, assassins.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not because actually will be in the more modern books they haven't gotten the love they should have gotten.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now they're insane.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the original codex is on them.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're like, oh, this is the greatest unit.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the greatest model the entire game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, basically tell you learn about a solitaire.
[SPEAKER_01]: Next week, we're going to drive into another Q from the Discord, which is the weapons of the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: Before we cover like what makes up a space marine, now we're going to talk about like what is plasma?
[SPEAKER_01]: What is melted?
[SPEAKER_01]: Why is melted not more awesome on tabletop?
[SPEAKER_00]: Drives me through filters, not more awesome on tabletop.
[SPEAKER_01]: History, a power fist, a chain fist, thunder hammer, etc.
[SPEAKER_01]: So until then, it's been John Barsadian, Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_00]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: See you guys next week.
[UNKNOWN]: you
