Have you ever had a strange feeling letting you know that something isn't quite right.
Today we'll listen to a story about trusting that feeling or else paying the
consequences. My name is Edwin and here is all dose true scary story.
Towards the ending of nineteen ninety four, my mom and dad decided to move
us to a little tongue called Moline, Illinois, which that town lands around
a place called Tri City. We moved there due to the my dad not
being able to find work here in California. The job that he had a
pretty much to laid them off. Town was very, very mellow, working
class. Nobody bothered anybody. Everybody mostly kept to themselves and we ended up
moving into this house that was being rented out to us by this family.
And this house was from the outside we could say it was a creepy kind
of look going up to it, the paint was brown. And during this
time around March, which is when this story takes place. This is during
the time when the singer Selena was murdered and my sister I remember she was
like a huge fan. I recall her being devastated. This is the first
week when the news is just going crazy about the dead. Our parents were
hardly ever home working. My dad would have worked graveyard shifts. My mom
would work from afternoon till we'd say, like eleven at night, so practically
we're always by ourselves. That day, I remember my sister was just non
stop playing one of Selena's albums. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy her
music. It was just it had just say, all right, I think
I'm gonna go do something else. So I recall going into our room that
me and my sister shared. I was always been a guy who likes to
draw and do little artistic things, and going in my room, grabbing up
the pad and pencil and just started drawing. Fifteen minutes later, my sister
says, Hey, I'm going down to the basement. Please don't shut off
the music. I'll be right back up, okay. Our basement was towards
the kitchen. I recall her opening the door and hearing her walk downstairs to
the basement. I remember when that happened. The music just stopped just I
don't know where it just stopped, and I thought, oh, maybe the
city skipped and she's been playing it so much that the city's probably scratched her
dirty. Okay whatever, keep doing what I'm doing. And I can hear
it downstairs and looking for around for something, and I heard a knock towards
the closet. That's not really that wasn't really that far from where I was
sitting, literally a step away. Hear the knock. I was like,
okay, you know what, maybe the house is just settling. It's during
the winter that happens in every house. Went back to where I was doing.
Then about let's say fifteen seconds later, this time it was two,
all right, this isn't Yeah, I could clearly hear this is You could
feel the like almost the force from the knocking, like you could feel like
the knuckle hitting the wood. Got up thinking okay, well would I do
if something was there? So just mastered the courage, opened the door and
as anyone else will tell you the course, nothing there. Okay, close
the door. And as I turned to my left side, now I'm looking
at the edge of my bed where the we could say the wood is at
the end of the bed, and I just recall seeing someone rise up,
if they were slightly hunched over, rise up from the side of the edge
of my bed and look at me. But I just see half their face,
like from where half their nose would start to the other side. Right
away I could identify that it's a woman. I remember her wearing red lipstick.
Her hair was straight. She looked like what was like a white shirt,
like a long sleeved like dress shirt, kind of like when women would
do in the nineties, how they would roll up the front end and then
tie it, and it looked like that how that's how her shirt was placed.
And saw a little bit would be her jeans and they were like a
light blue. And immediately when I saw that, I was like, oh,
my sister, hey, is that you? And as I got closer,
it like slowly went back down, and I remember I just paused and
then walked up a little closer and stared out of my mind. What was
that that I just saw? As I got closer and closer and nothing,
nothing there, And I remember the blood just rushing out of my like my
head like this tingling feeling, like is this for real? Is this like
reality right now? Especially coming from a seven year old trying to depict if
this is reality or not. When that happened, immediately hear the door open
back from the basement, and when that happened, the music immediately starts off
back up again, and my sister comes up to me and tells me,
hey, I thought I told you not to shut off the music. I'm
like, what are you talking about. I didn't. What are you talking
about? Clearly heard you shut off the music when I was already downstairs.
Remember the bass. You could hear the bass from the basement, Like you
shut it off. I'm like, no, I didn't. I decided not
to tell my sister that. I was like, I don't want to scare
my sister, because you know, my sister gets easily scared. But the
one person I did mention it too was my mom that same night when she
came home and she saw that I was just a little bit, like,
very quiet, very not active as a kid would be, because I was
a very active kid. I used to love playing, playing, doing active
things. And she say me, oh, is everything okay? What's wrong?
And I told her, Mom, I saw someone, What did you
see? Described every detail? This is what I saw at the edge of
my bed, and I remember the her face just went from being an understanding
mom to just a person who just saw exactly what I saw, like a
ghost. Her face was just very stern, very couldn't believe. And she's
like, next time that happens me home. You that's why we pray every
night, That's why we get our needs and pray to God. That's next
time, just pray and every night we're gonna start praying from now on.
I would pray a lot, but not why do you understand why would something
like that happen? Or why would something like this show itself to me?
Or not really understanding. I guess we could say the paranormal. At a
young age, of course, I would hear my mom talk about when she
lived back in Mexico and her lour n Chico, the stories that she would
say of what happened to so and so neighbor and this neighbor, And yeah,
I was already adapted to to what ghost stories were. But then having
happened this actually happened to me is just the shock value of it that just
takes you by surprise. And my mom is from a small little ranch and
they're in the middle of nowhere. The only thing that surrounds us village is
mountains, just tons and tons of mountains. The one thing I remember she
recalled telling me when she was a kid growing up that the one common thing
that she would hear things happening was at night, when they would be at
sleeping, they would hear horses, like a bunch of horses, like almost
an army of horses, running and dragging chains. Later on, she told
me that a war had happened in her village. A war had happened between
the people there and another group of individuals, and they were fighting for gold
that was buried there in their area. To this day, they still suspect
that the gold is still buried there. And she would tell me the stories,
of course, me being captivated and wanting to know more. I remember
she told me the story about when she was a little girl, that she
would sometimes she would go and have to go get water from all that was
up in her village. One time, it was super late and they needed
water for the next day. She went up and she began to hear the
horses again, and them dragging chains. It seems like it was, she
said, she could feel like it was coming from behind her. She has
to walk down a hill and she's carrying these barrels, these wooden barrels of
water with the big huge wooden stick that people would put overhead, and the
two barrels on each side. And I remember she said that she heard the
horses just running full force, and she could hear the chains. She could
even feel like the ground just shaking like thunder. And as I got close,
she just said that she was just so scared that she just collapsed and
like a kid, just got into the fetal position and just felt like the
force of whatever was running just passed by her. The funny thing is when
it passed, she would look up and expect all this jerk to be risen
up from whatever passes, and there'd be nothing there. She told me a
lot of stories, a lot of them just probably got lost as I got
older. I was nineteen and during this time, my mom and dad they
were not we're definitely having some marital problems. My mom was very suspicious that
my dad had another woman in his life. This is when the three apparitions
showed themselves to me. During this time, we already settled in PALMDA,
California. We owned this little snack shop and they swapped me, which at
the time was doing very well, but behind the scenes. People don't know
what's going on with the family that's running the successful business. My mom had
pretty much. I suspected that my dad was being was cheating because he wasn't
around the house much. He always was in his job down in the valley
and wasn't around much. So you could feel the vibe wasn't very a good
one here at home, very depressing, very lonely, very very sad ambience
after a hard day's work. I remember I got home and immediately just went
to bed. People always say that three o'clock is the hour of the witch
or the hour of the devil. I remember I looked at the clock and
it was three oh seven, and I was in the fetal position. I
had a one person bed. I remember blinking my eyes because I knew I
had to go to the restroom, and looking at the door, and I
was like, all right, I'm going to wake up and then go to
the restroom. So I'm blinking several times, and then you give a stretch,
and I remember still being in the fetal position, but looking up towards
my left side, towards the ceiling, and that's when slowly, but surely,
something just starts to appear. It's slowly appearing to me, and I'm
blinking my eyes over and over it again. Am I seeing this right?
Am I looking at something? What's going on? And as it slowly starts
to make itself more in focus, I realize that it's a young boy.
It's a young boy who I can tell is in his teens. He looked
like about fifteen sixteen. I recall him wearing this gray this light gray shirt
that I depict as a baseball shirt. It has the different colored rings on
the collar and on the colors of the ends of the shirt. And he's
on top of me. He's laying on top of me with his hands folded,
like when someone's watching TV lay their head on their hands. And he's
laying on top of me. And he has reddish hair, curly reddish hair,
and his hair is pretty long. And I recall that he had beanie
the same color as a shirt, a light gray beanie. He's not looking
directly at me, He's looking at the wall behind me. And I keep
blinking and opening my eyes. Am I seeing this correctly? Is this for
real? And there is a brief moment where everything just got quiet. I
couldn't hear myself breathe anymore, and that's when he looks down at me and
then looks right back up to the wall and gives like a gentle chuckle.
And that's when he started to fade out. And at that point, I
was pinching myself, Am I really awake right now? This is for real?
I could slowly see him fade away, and at that moment, once
again, it was just the shock of it, the shock of it happening,
and I recall just going back to when I was a kid, when
I would have these night terrors that would send me running to my parents' room
and pretty much crying that if I wanted to that I wanted to sleep with
them. But at this time, I'm nineteen. But I felt that feeling
once again of being a kid, like I want to run to my parents'
room right now, and I'm still awake. I'm pinching myself. This has
to be a dream, you know, It's not. I would fall asleep
and then wake back up. The vibe I felt from this operation wasn't a
negative one. I could feel that this person was just passing through and we
could say, wanted to make himself noticed. It was like if I knew
he wasn't there to hurt me or harm me. But about three weeks later,
another operation shows itself to me. This one was a little more frightening.
The apparitions all to describe do in fact begin to get darker the rest
of his story up next. This is still around the era. My mom
is still suspecting that my father is not being very loyal to her. Same
thing. Came back from a hard day's work from our little store, go
to bed, and this time I recall waking up at three oh six.
During that week, I had gotten a bigger bed, a queen size bed.
I remember being on my left side this time. When I woke up,
I looked at my clock. It's three oh six, and I turned
towards my right side, blinking again to wake myself up to go to the
restroom. As I'm blinking, I'm looking towards to what would be my TV
at the other side of my room. I'm blinking, and then once again
I could see something at the end of the room start to appear, slowly
but surely appearing, and I start to do the same thing, blinking to
make sure that I'm fully awake and it's starting to like literally walk up towards
me, and I can tell it's a woman. And she's literally wearing this
pink dress that would look something out of nineteen twelve, like the movie Titanic.
She's wearing this hat that resembles the same thing, and the outpa just
looks like something from that time period. But her face was just very decrepit,
very like she almost looked like she just died. She came up,
she was like literally almost inches away from what could be my face. And
I remember just immediately I just heard myself curse and just flipped to my left
side and just throw the sheets on top of me. Just scared out of
my mind. And when I have the sheets on top of me, I
can literally feel her like on the other side of the sheets. I feel
this heavy energy. That just was not a good one. It was not
a good one. I remember I began to pray. I recall my mom
telling me whenever that happened, is pray. It brought me back to when
the first operations showed itself to me. I began to pray, and slowly
but surely, I feel the ambience kind of changed from a heavy mood to
a lighter mood, and that's when I remember, I just took the sheets
off and just looked, and thankfully there's always nothing there. Three weeks later,
is this still during the time Mom and Dad are not get in their
marriage. Come back from a hard day's work from the store, went to
bed. Now I'm on my right side in the fetal position. Wake up.
Look at the clock. It's three h five. And at this point
I'm like, if I turn around, what's going to be waiting for me
there? And I remember, okay, blink, make sure you're awake,
make sure you're fully awake. So I turn around to my left side,
and once again, something slowly but surely starts to appear. And this time
it's a young lady in a white shirt and like blue light blue denim jeans,
and her hair is like in a flat top, and her face is
just completely just she looks like death itself. She I remember, or she
had no eyes. This one was different because the ambience just it didn't feel
dark. It felt very heavy, like I could feel it in my chest.
And that feeling that I got was the exact same one when I would
have night terrors. And I remember the next thing she did like locked eyes
with me, and the next thing I know, it just lunged itself at
me. And when that happened, I just turned around as fast as I
could to my other side, to the point where I fell off my bed.
I remember hitting my head against the furniture that I have next to my
bed, and yeah, thankfully I wasn't hurt. But this time it was
just I was like, What's going on? Why is this happening? Why
do I keep seeing these apparitions show up every three weeks apart? And same
thing. I went the restroom, splash some water in my face, and
I didn't sleep at all that night at all. My dad finally reveals to
my mom that he has been cheating on her, that he's in love with
this other woman, and he says that he's gonna leave. By this time,
I'm twenty one. Now I have an understanding that some relationships are not
going to work out. I'm old enough to know that they're grown adults and
maybe they don't feel that fire that they used to feel for each other.
And unfortunately, those were the circumstances that happened that they needed. He wanted
to leave. He did leave. This is just me and my mom trying
to manage a store just between us two. During this time, this is
like the worst period I could see my mom. She had no energy,
she had no motivation to keep the store going. My aunt had called her
during this time when because she had found out, and she told her,
Hey, why don't you come to the Bay Area. I'm gonna get you
therapy. My mom did. She obliged and went and I was by myself
during this period of time when my mom decided to leave and my dad was
in the house, and I was pretty much by myself. It's strange that
nothing happened during that time that I was alone. Nothing happened. I was
just managing the store by myself, trying to keep it going. A month
had passed and my mom comes back. She looks a little better, but
I recall her saying that she didn't want to come back because along the way
coming back home, she said she felt not right. She felt as though
someone was out to get her. She could feel someone like if someone didn't
like her. I remember she got home and my dad just happened to show
up. My dad at this time, he's still paying the mortgage and the
bills, that arrive, and of course I'm trying to do my part to
keep the store going, and any bills that he needs help with, I'm
helping him too. He comes back, and I remember my aunt leaves back
to the Bay Area that same night, and my mom keeps telling me,
I don't feel right. There's just something that's just not right. And it
has to do with your dad. There's just something out right. I don't
know, I just feel something wrong. I feel like I need to run
away or get away from your father because there's just this energy that just keeps
it stuck to him. I'm like, okay, Mom, just trying not
to think about it. Just he'll be gone tomorrow and they'll just be me
and you and you can tell me everything that happened in a barrier. So
I remember that night we went to go get in and out and we came
back and my mom kept telling me, but I feel like something is not
right, something's telling me to run. And every time she just tells me
that, it just would send like shivers down my spine and like this feeling
in my gut. I remember we got home, took the food out of
the car, began to give each person their meal. I remember my dad
went to the restroom to wash his hands, and once again my mom states,
I don't feel right me home. Something is in this house and I
don't know what it is, but it's attached to your dad. My mom
is also very superstitious along with me. Remember my dad comes back, we
both we all sit down, there's just the three of us. I begin
eating and it's very quiet. No one's saying anything. The TV's turned off,
there's nothing, there's no noise, no music, And as I'm chewing,
I just hear my I just look, just see my mom just stand
up really fast and then start walking out the front. And in my mind,
I was like, that was weird. But she said she does doesn't
feel comfortable with my dad. Maybe she just wants to go take a walk.
Maybe that's what she's doing, because she did state that she wants to
get away from my dad and feel like she wants to get like walk away,
like all right, maybe that's what she's doing, she just wants to
alleviate herself from that feeling. But what kind of made it suspicious was when
I heard the cup that she was drinking her soda from all to the floor.
Outside and I can hear the ice just spill on the pavement. And
I turned around and I just see her just leave. And I got up,
went out the front door and looked down the street and I could see
her turning, like just walking away. I'm like, okay, that's strange.
Maybe okay, maybe she does just needs to get away. I go
back in the house, sit down, but something just does not feel right,
and everything just kept pointing to that cup, like why would she just
drop her cup like that and just take off. My dad at the time,
was being very inconsidered on my mom had this like tough guy kind of
attitude. What's wrong with your mom? I'm like, I don't know,
man, she just says that she just doesn't feel good. And something right
away was telling me, go look for your mom, man, go look
for your mom. I grabbed the keys, got in my car and started
to begin just follow the trail that she went in. We live in a
gated community and it's like it's almost like a square, and I was just
looking in and there was no where she was, nowhere to be found,
nowhere to be found, cut through streets, everything, and it wasn't until
I made the round back around the house the corner she turned. I remember
I was driving and I looked back in my rearver mirror and she's literally now
behind the car. And I was like, wait, what I could have
sworn? I looked all over. How is it that now she's behind my
car? All right? All right, I found her and I just put
the car to the sidewalk, right next to the sidewalk, and I get
off. I'm still like now, I'm still like a couple feet away.
As I got out of the car, she's walking. She's not walking towards
me, but she's taking me these humongous shrides. I have never seen her
do that. My mom has always suffered from her bones, especially over the
years as a kid she worked in a farm and heavy work and taking jobs
that would almost give people arthritis. And she's taking these strides like she's about
to jog, like her leg is just almost like hyper extending her arms too.
And that's when I gotta. I get close to her, and I
say, Mom, I'm not get rice, Mom, what's wrong? Mom?
I'm on, And I remember she just stops suddenly and she's looking ahead
of her, and I'm like, Mom, what's wrong? And then she
slowly starts to turn towards me, and her eyes just got wide, like
wider than I've ever seen her open. Her eyes. Her face was like
someone who's just I can describe as someone who wants to do evil doings on
someone, like full of hate, full of anger, to the point where
she's grinding her teeth. And I remember the sense of just a fear and
evil was. I could feel it. I could feel it. And I
remember at the time, I had this rosary that was given to me by
a girl who I was dating at the time. She had brought it back
from Alsavador from a church, and the first thing I did was just take
the rosary out and began what Catholics call a bad nuestro. I began praying.
And then as I prayed and prayed, my mom just seemed like it's
almost like she snapped out of a trance. And I told my mom,
are you okay, Mom? And she said, yeah, Slovia and Slavian.
Mom. Do you know who I am? And she's like, yeah,
you all do all right? What am I to you? You're my
son? Okay? Mom? Do you know where you are right now?
And she says, yeah, we're in the kitchen eating. I'm like,
no, Mom, we're not eating. We're literally a block away from our
house. So I was like, you know what, Mom, get in
the car. Please, just get in the car. We'll drive back.
Okay, okay. But she's very like just out of it, like someone
who just woke up, and she can't even find her footing help her back
in the car. And that's when I see at the corner of the street
my dad pop out. At the time, like I said, he is
very inconsiderate, and he tells me and I can hear him yell, hey,
what's wrong with your mom? And I think this is the first time
in my life that I actually cursed in my dad because I was so angry,
cursed at him and I said, you know what, just get back
in the house. Don't worry. I'm taking care of it. And I
remember he just flung his arms like almost like when someone says whatever. I
drove my mom back to the house, gently got her out, walked her
towards the kitchen, and my dad, just not being an understanding person,
just said, what's wrong with you? What's going on? My dad?
Calm down, then, just calm down. I don't know what's wrong.
We could possibly take her to the doctors and maybe she's just maybe she's having
a nervous breakdown. My mom, I remember she went into the kitchen and
was leaning against the counter of the kitchen and Mom, are you sure you're
all right? And she still seems like she's in a daze. And when
she said yeah, I'm fine, my dad started to get more riled up
and started to like, hey, come on, tell us what's wrong.
What's really wrong with you? And as he starts to approach her, my
mom's is just wide and even more and she turned as if she's a little
child, just fearing for her life. She began to make these crying noises
if she was crying like a little girl, and she's looking at my dad.
It's almost like she's seeing like a demon. She was scared, and
I was like, Dad, get out of the house, just go drive
somewhere, just leave. I remember with my dad leaving, that's when my
mom just started to calm down a little bit more and just calm down from
whatever was going on. That night, I remember I gave her like some
sleeping pills so she could go to bed. I just did not sleep the
whole night. The next day, I told her, mom, do you
know what happened to you yesterday? And she's honestly, she looked one hundred
percent better. Do you want to know the truth. When I was around
your dad, I could actually see something behind him. I saw shadow and
it just engulfed his whole like what was behind him? And when I was
around him, I wanted to run as far away as I could. And
she told me when we sat down to eat and I was eating my food,
I don't remember eating my food. I just remember something. I could
clearly hear it. At the end of the block, even though the door
was closed. Something tells me, hey, hey, come here, come
here, come with me, Come with me, Come on, and say
my mom's name, Come on. And somehow my mom says is she just
obliged, got up and she was walking outside and she said it's like she
saw somebody calling her, hey, like even waving their hand. Come on,
let's go this way. And she kept falling, kept following, come
here, come with me, And I told her I could not find you
until I saw you behind me. I couldn't find it an explanation how she
got behind me. That's what happened. I heard this voice and it was
calling me, like, do you remember? Did what kind of vibe to
give you? And she said, I didn't feel any vibe. I just
know that I just needed to follow it, and that's the only thing I
felt. So now, about a couple months passed by and she revealed to
me that she actually had gone to a what they say, a medium,
and the medium told her my mom just wanted to know what was going on
with my dad and everything. What was why is it that their marriage just
seemed to fall apart. My mom was always a loving woman, always attendant
to my dad everything. I remember. She told me the story that this
medium told her that, Okay, your husband has had this person in hiding
for a couple of years now. Your husband's relatives knew about it. And
I think when the bomb was dropped on me was that she told me that
the medium had told her, your relatives don't have a really good liking to
you, and it appears that your husband's relatives have actually done brughetia on you
and have decided that you need to be removed out of the picture. This
has been happening for a couple of years now and I asked myself, is
that why I saw those three apparitions? Is that why my mom got up
and left and heard this voice When she told me that, it literally sunds
shivers down my spine. But then she said, right now, how do
you sense your husband? It seems like he's I guess we could say back
to normal and say, okay, well, here's the thing. It seems
the witchcraft that they try to attempt to do on you, it seems like
they did it wrong and now it fired back on them. Being at Latino,
we all know that when you mess with those kinds of things, Santa
Ria, Bruheria, any of that, you have to be very careful how
you approach it, because if you don't do anything right, he can fire
back on you and it could be twice as worse. And that's what happened
to my dad's relatives. The person that he was cheating with left my dad.
My aunt didn't quite hear for her for years. I remember she ended
up getting diabetes and all these sicknesses, and it wasn't going very well for
them. The day my mom was going to leave to the barrier when my
aunt called her, I remember I had this sense of I need to go
downstairs and talk to my mom because she's not in a good place. When
I walked down to talk to my mom, my aunt had called to tell
her, Hey, let's go to the barrier, come down with me.
My mom later revealed to me that did you know when I heard you come
downstairs? That's at the same time your aunt called me. Your aunt called
me to say that she knew that something was going to happen to me,
like she sensed that something was wrong, and she was telling me that she
was actually going to swallow pills. But yet, somehow me and my aunt
sensed this, and that's why I had gone downstairs, and why my aunt
had called her. Somehow we sensed it. And my aunt's all the way
down in the Bay Area, and I'm over here in palmdo here in this
house, and we both sensed it simultaneously. I never thought that things like
that would happen with my family. My mom, like I said, would
tell me stories of these things that people would do. Always tell me me,
He'll be careful, be careful who you interact with, Be careful that
you don't make the wrong person mad. Because I can tell you from experience
from neighbors experiences that some people practice some things that are not holy and they

I pain in my room a certain color, a dark color, and I
guess that was my way to unwind everything that I was feeling. And I
never really took any look at it or took it to account until when visitors
would come or family would come to visit us, and my mom would amijo,
make sure you have that room clean, because remember, they're going to
stay in your room, okay. But every time when someone would from my
mom's side of the family would come to stay in my room, they always
say, no, what, it's fine, we can sleep down here.
And it was every time, and evidently a not told me who when I
stay in your room, I feel a lot of sadness, a lot of
depression. And it was always a constant thing throughout the years. And then
recently my cousin tells me, Primo, the reason why we never want to
stay in your room is because have you noticed that there's faces in your walls?
