<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, welcome to Game Mess Mornings with Me Jeff Greb,
<v Speaker 1>your host from GiantBomb dot com.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you for tuning in.
<v Speaker 1>In this episode, we're gonna be talking about super positive
<v Speaker 1>reviews for two more new games. Isn't that great news everybody,
<v Speaker 1>and how the biggest game in the world is becoming
<v Speaker 1>more like roadblocks.
<v Speaker 2>It's gonna be a good one because we have Janechow
<v Speaker 2>on the show. Jan how are you doing?
<v Speaker 3>I am doing good, Grub. I'm not gonna say great,
<v Speaker 3>but I'm doing good. We're at uh, we've moved past
<v Speaker 3>my normal six out of ten to like six point nine. Nice.
<v Speaker 1>Oh okay, nice, Yeah, I mean that's what that's You
<v Speaker 1>want to see growth, right, you want to see movement,
<v Speaker 1>even if it's from a one to a two. That's
<v Speaker 1>good news because you're moving up and you want to
<v Speaker 1>be going in that direction. So zactly, the investor, the
<v Speaker 1>Jana Chow as investors are gonna be very happy to
<v Speaker 1>hear this.
<v Speaker 3>That's right because Jana Chose investors for the past couple
<v Speaker 3>of months have been quite perplexed that the development's happening.
<v Speaker 2>They were holding the bag. Huh oh yeah.
<v Speaker 3>But hey, we're hanging and clanging today. Baby, I'm I'm
<v Speaker 3>happy to.
<v Speaker 2>Be here with you, grub like you're here. Glad you're here,
<v Speaker 2>Glad we could talk about some video games and just
<v Speaker 2>hang out.
<v Speaker 1>Plenty to talk about. For the most part, we'll get
<v Speaker 1>into all of that here real soon. Let's do let's
<v Speaker 1>do a quick check jan out. I'm feeling a little
<v Speaker 1>underwater with all these video games. I'm I'm like last time,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, I definitely want to keep playing more Soilk Song.
<v Speaker 1>I got credits, but I didn't get the true ending.
<v Speaker 1>And there's a talk of an Act three. I've not
<v Speaker 1>seen nor heard of such a thing in the game,
<v Speaker 1>but apparently it exists. And so it's like, oh, I
<v Speaker 1>feel like an obligation to keep playing this game that
<v Speaker 1>I really love. Yes, and yet there's a lot of stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Hades two's right over there in a few days, and
<v Speaker 1>like Ghosts of Yota, I guess I should get ready
<v Speaker 1>for that. And then there's a bunch like I did
<v Speaker 1>not I did not finish. I did not finish a
<v Speaker 1>Clear Obscure Expedition thirty three, which I set that down
<v Speaker 1>to play Silk Song, and the plan was to get
<v Speaker 1>back to that right after Silksong, and that was before
<v Speaker 1>I knew Hades two was coming out. There's a lot
<v Speaker 1>going I like, didn't even get to play much of
<v Speaker 1>someone like the bullshit games that I really like. I
<v Speaker 1>played a good amount of that trucking game from.
<v Speaker 2>The guy what's it called the road.
<v Speaker 1>Craft's Road Yeah, hey, listen, I'm still looking forward to Docking,
<v Speaker 1>but Roadcraft is like one of my God I would
<v Speaker 1>I would love to spend like thirty more hours with that,
<v Speaker 1>and I have had any time.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, feeling underwater? How are you.
<v Speaker 3>Feeling, Grub, I'm feeling the same with you, but thankfully
<v Speaker 3>you know how to swim. So I'm kind of just
<v Speaker 3>floundering around here. I don't know why or how I
<v Speaker 3>injured my wrist, but my wrist has been aching for
<v Speaker 3>the past week and a half. So I just threw
<v Speaker 3>a cast on this bad boy trying to get through
<v Speaker 3>silk Song is not helping.
<v Speaker 2>No, definitely, well not what are you playing Silksong on?
<v Speaker 3>Playing it on a switch to And unfortunately the ergonomics
<v Speaker 3>of the switch to or you know, even the original
<v Speaker 3>switch one grub not the best for extended Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I wound up getting for like the switch one like
<v Speaker 3>these grips that made the joy cons look like like
<v Speaker 3>a proper controller that kind of shut out. So the
<v Speaker 3>ergonomics are improved, but despite being a little bit bigger,
<v Speaker 3>the switch to Ergo is not is a no go
<v Speaker 3>for me for like extended play. But yeah, you mentioned
<v Speaker 3>Silk Song. I'm still in the early goings. I've I'm
<v Speaker 3>past the fly thing that has stopped a lot of people. Surprisingly,
<v Speaker 3>I didn't have a lot of of the platforming issues
<v Speaker 3>that people are having.
<v Speaker 1>It's a crapshoot, like what's going to cause people to
<v Speaker 1>get stumped in this game? It could be anything for anyone.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm I I kind of want to we should
<v Speaker 3>run a pole maybe in a couple of weeks of
<v Speaker 3>like where did you stop playing Silk Song? Was it like,
<v Speaker 3>oh yeah, the ending or act end of Act two
<v Speaker 3>or so and so. But grub, there's Hades two, like
<v Speaker 3>you mentioned, Silent Hill f is on the horizon. Final
<v Speaker 3>Fantasy Tactics is on the horizon as well. I completely
<v Speaker 3>forgot about Yota.
<v Speaker 1>Uh hum, right, yes, that's crazy, like the biggest game
<v Speaker 1>for one of the biggest platforms.
<v Speaker 2>Just I almost completely forgot about it.
<v Speaker 1>But it's gonna come and it's gonna be It's gonna
<v Speaker 1>like takeover, I bet, because like Sony seems very confident
<v Speaker 1>about it.
<v Speaker 2>It's their big game this year, so we'll see.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and you know, there's there's all there smaller titles
<v Speaker 3>that I'm really excited for as well, Grub that I've
<v Speaker 3>had to get out of Silk Song's way, and unfortunately
<v Speaker 3>they walked straight into Hades two.
<v Speaker 2>Baby Steps, Yeah, baby Steps as soon, Baby.
<v Speaker 3>Steps as soon, clover Pit is soon, and who knows
<v Speaker 3>what else it may shadow drop Grub. I'm also very
<v Speaker 3>excited for the prospect of Metroid Prime later in the year.
<v Speaker 3>I'm trying to weigh with myself of like, Okay, I've
<v Speaker 3>played through one and one was amazing. Do I like
<v Speaker 3>just hold off on Metroid until we get four? Do
<v Speaker 3>I check out two and three? By other means, there's
<v Speaker 3>too many games, Grub's.
<v Speaker 2>Too many games.
<v Speaker 1>I've been considering that as well, and then I like
<v Speaker 1>look at just like the list of like stuff to
<v Speaker 1>play right now on Steam and that's like, I want
<v Speaker 1>to spend more time with Skate. I want to try No,
<v Speaker 1>I'm not human, I want to try that game because
<v Speaker 1>it's popping off. Yeah, baby steps as soon. I mean
<v Speaker 1>the horror is ollow, that's Halloween. Yeah, I want to
<v Speaker 1>play more Hell is Us like like, that's like before
<v Speaker 1>you get this stuff. It's like from earlier this year
<v Speaker 1>that did really well that I did not try, like Pipastrello.
<v Speaker 1>It said, Man, I probably should try Pepstrella.
<v Speaker 2>When the fuck am I going to do that? No idea.
<v Speaker 3>We were talking yesterday Grub for folks that missed the
<v Speaker 3>leg of Voyagers, little GV plays split fiction game out
<v Speaker 3>this year.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's nuts.
<v Speaker 3>You know, I think that's something we should definitely talk
<v Speaker 3>about during Game of the Year. But you know, that's
<v Speaker 3>one of those games where you need to play with
<v Speaker 3>another person. How are we ever going to schedule that
<v Speaker 3>time outside of work hours if it's not for like
<v Speaker 3>a stream.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just gonna complay more Forsaken for in sixty four.
<v Speaker 1>That's what I'm gonna do.
<v Speaker 3>I keep thinking y'all are talking about for Spoken, and
<v Speaker 3>I get so confused.
<v Speaker 2>Basically, they're the same thing Pirate Uzo was this year.
<v Speaker 3>Sorry Grub Sorry what.
<v Speaker 2>No, that's not right? Was it? January?
<v Speaker 3>Uh Mento points that reminds us and yes, yes it
<v Speaker 3>was this year, Grub. Oh boy, that's February.
<v Speaker 1>That's messed up. That feels like you here like at
<v Speaker 1>least a year and a half ago. Okay, whatever, it's

<v Speaker 1>Show later with chapters and timestamps on YouTube. Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 1>let's start the morning mess with Sonic Racing Crossworlds reviews.
<v Speaker 1>This is the new Sonic Racing game, this time from
<v Speaker 1>Team Sonic actually developing it. It has an eighty two
<v Speaker 1>on Open Critic, which is really good for a Sonic
<v Speaker 1>cart race. Really, any cut racer that's not Mario Kart,
<v Speaker 1>you know. I think who knows Mario Kark gets a
<v Speaker 1>little extra love or whatever. Sometimes they are just that
<v Speaker 1>much better this game, by all accounts, though, people really
<v Speaker 1>seem to enjoy it. Eighty two is much better than
<v Speaker 1>Team Sonic Racing did or yeah, I think that's what
<v Speaker 1>it was the last time, and then I can't remember.
<v Speaker 1>I think Sonic and Racing All Stars Transformed whatever it's called,
<v Speaker 1>that might have done a little bit better reviews, And
<v Speaker 1>people still seem to like that one, maybe a tiny
<v Speaker 1>bit more than this, But overall of the response to
<v Speaker 1>this one so far has been positive. That includes a
<v Speaker 1>seven out of ten from Steve Watts at GameSpot, who
<v Speaker 1>says Sonic Racing Crossworlds is a well crafted and remarkably
<v Speaker 1>flexible arcade racer with an almost overwhelming amount of customization
<v Speaker 1>and a whiz bang portal hopping mechanic.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>That's one of the things I've heard through a lot
<v Speaker 1>of these reviews is it has just eye popping presentation.
<v Speaker 1>The game just absolutely leaps off the screen where like
<v Speaker 1>just shit is happen everywhere. To me, it reminds me
<v Speaker 1>a little bit of Cruising Blasts, where it's like that's
<v Speaker 1>like you're like playing like a roller coaster and a
<v Speaker 1>fireworks show at the same time. This is going for
<v Speaker 1>something similar but maybe a little bit even more engaging
<v Speaker 1>on the racing side of things. Did get a six
<v Speaker 1>out of ten from Dominic Layton at the sixth axis.
<v Speaker 1>While it gets plenty of the fundamentals right, the dimension
<v Speaker 1>hopping character roster and some of the extra modes don't
<v Speaker 1>quite stick the landing. Sonic Racing Crossworlds isn't the best
<v Speaker 1>car carting game out there, and thirteen years on from
<v Speaker 1>Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed, it's not even the
<v Speaker 1>best carting game with a blue Hedgehog in it. And
<v Speaker 1>then you got nine out of ten from Joe Richards
<v Speaker 1>at PlayStation Universe. Despite my initial trepidation, Sonic Racing Crossworlds
<v Speaker 1>defies the odds and managed to hook me. Strong fundamental
<v Speaker 1>gameplay is paired with genuinely cool customization options and fantastic
<v Speaker 1>track design to make for a compelling and addicting racer
<v Speaker 1>that I've had to tear myself away from to even
<v Speaker 1>write this review. We'll see how online balance plays out
<v Speaker 1>in a realistic sample size, but so far, I'm massively impressed. Jane,
<v Speaker 1>where are you at with Sonic Racing Cross Worlds? Is
<v Speaker 1>this something that you might try to make time for or.
<v Speaker 3>What this definitely feels like? If we have like a
<v Speaker 3>spare slot in like the week, this would be a
<v Speaker 3>good game to check out with a gang, maybe a
<v Speaker 3>upf or maybe a like a Wednesday or Thursday stream.
<v Speaker 2>I can't say that he.
<v Speaker 1>And t maybe even willing to see if you could
<v Speaker 1>like open up a room or something. Who knows how
<v Speaker 1>online works.
<v Speaker 3>I remember a couple of years ago. Folks that have
<v Speaker 3>been with the website for a long time may remember
<v Speaker 3>that Vinnie Caravella got very very into one of these
<v Speaker 3>Sonic KRT Racing games, and.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, Sonic he was the Sonic and All Stars Racing
<v Speaker 1>a transformed.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah guy, Yeah, And I wound up checking that out
<v Speaker 3>due to his recommendation and really enjoyed it. That being said,
<v Speaker 3>I haven't really followed the Sonic Racing series since then,
<v Speaker 3>but I also think it is very good to have
<v Speaker 3>alternatives to Mario Kart out there, especially if it's Sonic
<v Speaker 3>Badgehog still trying to be competition for the Plumber and everything. Unfortunately,
<v Speaker 3>Garfield KRT doesn't look like it's doing too hot this year, grub.
<v Speaker 1>Look, I refuse to believe anyone else's opinion on Garfield KRT.
<v Speaker 2>Will have to go in there and.
<v Speaker 1>Judge for ourselves. It's Garfield Kart too, right. They made
<v Speaker 1>a second one, and that's what we're talking about.
<v Speaker 3>First one there was no online multiplayer I think.
<v Speaker 1>Right, And when I tried to play it, I would
<v Speaker 1>try to pause the game while accelerating, and in the
<v Speaker 1>pause menu it would still be making the acceleration noise.
<v Speaker 1>So it's just like one of those really will put
<v Speaker 1>together games. That's why you know the second one's going
<v Speaker 1>to be good. You can rely on it. Yeah, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I do think that this game has an opportunity to
<v Speaker 1>sort of take advantage of a little bit of discontent
<v Speaker 1>with Mario Kart World. Now, I also think that is
<v Speaker 1>maybe a little overstated, the discontent with Mario Kart World.
<v Speaker 1>It's maybe a in us kind of thing. People who
<v Speaker 1>who have their eye a little bit too close to
<v Speaker 1>the ball and are like, you know, we played so
<v Speaker 1>much Mario Kart eight, and we thought about Mario Kart
<v Speaker 1>eight in a critical way.
<v Speaker 2>That's not the Mario Kart audience.
<v Speaker 1>The Mario Kart aud audience is a big, broad audience
<v Speaker 1>who likes to see the Mario characters racing around a
<v Speaker 1>cart and World certainly does more of that, and it's
<v Speaker 1>the new one for the shiny new thing they got,
<v Speaker 1>So I think most people are gonna be like, I
<v Speaker 1>don't need another cart racer now. At the same time,
<v Speaker 1>if people like if A families are like if they
<v Speaker 1>did get a switch to and they see their kids
<v Speaker 1>maybe aren't playing as much a Mario Kart World, maybe
<v Speaker 1>there is a reason Sonic will become like a holiday
<v Speaker 1>game that does.
<v Speaker 2>Alright, So I'll try it. I liked what I played
<v Speaker 2>of at.
<v Speaker 1>A summer game fest, and I am looking forward to
<v Speaker 1>seeing like what the final product actually feels like over
<v Speaker 1>an extended period of time, it seemed like there were
<v Speaker 1>a lot of mechanics and systems like between the race
<v Speaker 1>and setting up your cart that I felt was a
<v Speaker 1>little bit distracting, not what I show up to these
<v Speaker 1>games for. But at the same time, it's like, this
<v Speaker 1>is for a kid that's gonna this is gonna be
<v Speaker 1>their game. Maybe that's stuff goes a long way toward
<v Speaker 1>keeping an audience member like that happy.
<v Speaker 3>Also, for the families out there that have yet to
<v Speaker 3>pick up a switch to this is multi platform right grub,
<v Speaker 3>So if they have a PS five or an Xbox.
<v Speaker 2>A good point, you know this this.
<v Speaker 3>Will do very well for those families out there as well. Also,
<v Speaker 3>I think we also underestimate the level of Sonic freaks
<v Speaker 3>out there.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, for sure.
<v Speaker 3>Like I know, it's so fun and easy to pile
<v Speaker 3>on Sonic the Hedgehog and all of the bad games
<v Speaker 3>and even some of the good games. But the Sonic
<v Speaker 3>freaks out there are are.
<v Speaker 1>Scary, and yeah, and they but you know, they're scary,
<v Speaker 1>but they deserve nice things. And yeah, this seems like
<v Speaker 1>one I'm a little definitely was guessing when I was
<v Speaker 1>doing my Metacritic guessing in or Open Critic guessing game
<v Speaker 1>with Mike, and I was like, Ah, these games usually
<v Speaker 1>don't do around a seventy, And I was like, actually
<v Speaker 1>thinking of a team Sonic Racing, and I forgot that
<v Speaker 1>Sonic and All Stars Racing Transform did much better.
<v Speaker 2>Sounds like this one's closer to that. So I think
<v Speaker 2>I got my score wrong on that one. I went
<v Speaker 2>somewhere in the seventies. Oh well, all right.
<v Speaker 1>There's another review round up here. Trails in the Sky
<v Speaker 1>first Chapter, I think is what FC stands for here.
<v Speaker 1>It has a ninety one on Open Credit jan eight
<v Speaker 1>out of ten from Alan When at GameSpot, who said,
<v Speaker 1>the very first entry of Falcom's epic JRPG saga has
<v Speaker 1>been remade to glowing modern standards while faithfully preserving the
<v Speaker 1>original story. And it got a ten out of ten
<v Speaker 1>from Marillo Zerbinato Zerbinato at Dual Shockers, who said, back
<v Speaker 1>in the day, Trails in the Sky hinged on its
<v Speaker 1>story and world building to make up for its other
<v Speaker 1>lacking characteristics. Twenty years later, Trails in the Sky first
<v Speaker 1>Chapter not only brings back the full heart of what
<v Speaker 1>made the original a classic, but it now can stand
<v Speaker 1>tall beside any other heavyweight JARPG. The visual presentation is beautiful,
<v Speaker 1>the mix between real time and turn based battles is
<v Speaker 1>a blast, and the quality of life at additions adhere
<v Speaker 1>to present day audiences to I can confidently say that
<v Speaker 1>Trails in the Sky first chapter is a quintessential GRPG
<v Speaker 1>that should be cherished by every fan of the genre. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this is one of those ones where it's like, well, shit,
<v Speaker 1>the ninety one, that's okay. Yeah, I guess this is
<v Speaker 1>another one to kind of keep an eye on.
<v Speaker 2>Now.
<v Speaker 1>I know it's a remake slash remaster. I think it's
<v Speaker 1>more of a remake. And it's one of those franchises
<v Speaker 1>that has built up a lot over the last twenty
<v Speaker 1>years where it's like it's had a lot of sequels
<v Speaker 1>and spin offs and people have shown up for it,
<v Speaker 1>and that word of mouth has helped it spread and
<v Speaker 1>kind of reached this point where now when people go
<v Speaker 1>to those freaks of this series and say, hey, where
<v Speaker 1>should I start now, they have a really good answer,
<v Speaker 1>Hey go start at Trails in the Sky first chapter.
<v Speaker 1>It's remade for modern sensibilities, but it's still got that
<v Speaker 1>game and the story that I fell in love with
<v Speaker 1>in the first place, and it does feel like this
<v Speaker 1>could be a big breakout moment for this series that
<v Speaker 1>has had a number of breakout moments up to this point.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Grub, I tried checking out the original Trails in
<v Speaker 3>the Sky, I think during the early pandemic, but I
<v Speaker 3>wound up bouncing off just because there was a lot
<v Speaker 3>of I tried doing the thing where I'm going to
<v Speaker 3>just read everything because there's no voice acting, and then
<v Speaker 3>I realized that was a fool's errand because there's an
<v Speaker 3>obscene amount of dialogue. But that being said, this is
<v Speaker 3>one of those games that I'm I've been clamoring for, Grub.
<v Speaker 3>I've been waiting for the remake. Looks great in comparison
<v Speaker 3>to the original game. The original game, you're like a
<v Speaker 3>bunch of like little small chibi peeps, but now there's
<v Speaker 3>full three D action as well as turn based stuff. Grub,
<v Speaker 3>this is terrible.
<v Speaker 2>Why Yeah, this sucks.
<v Speaker 3>This has definitely been something on my radar. I think
<v Speaker 3>this is some something for uh. This is great because
<v Speaker 3>I know that there are a lot of lapsed Final
<v Speaker 3>Fantasy fans out there that have become unhappy be with
<v Speaker 3>how the series has evolved over the years and kind
<v Speaker 3>of straying away from the turn based origins of it.
<v Speaker 3>And people may not really click well with Dragon Quest
<v Speaker 3>because Dragon Quest comes in and out on a blue moon.
<v Speaker 3>But I'm happy that there are options like the Shinmagami
<v Speaker 3>Tennessee series Persona like a Dragon now as well. But
<v Speaker 3>also this is one of the heavy hitters that has
<v Speaker 3>been like rumbling in the background that a lot of people,
<v Speaker 3>like the cool folks will be like, yo, you check
<v Speaker 3>out Trails, you check out Trails, and those cool people
<v Speaker 3>just you know, Michael him whispering it me. Yeah, but
<v Speaker 3>from what I've heard of the series, this is going
<v Speaker 3>to be like an all time banger. And seeing the
<v Speaker 3>ninety one and Metacritic, holy smoke scrub, I have no time.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, no time, but yeah, it feels like a good opportunity.
<v Speaker 1>And now you know, it does feel like this game
<v Speaker 1>is specifically for people who have not played these games before,
<v Speaker 1>because you know it is gonna be that same story.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, I was talking to Mike about it and
<v Speaker 1>he was like, h not really going to play this
<v Speaker 1>because I just played it a couple of years ago,
<v Speaker 1>the original version. But still, I just think that this
<v Speaker 1>is probably a good sign for this series going forward
<v Speaker 1>and then then being able to like put even more
<v Speaker 1>effort into it. And I'm sure a big part of
<v Speaker 1>that is it's like, well, we maybe were putting around
<v Speaker 1>around like the same amount of effort, but tools have
<v Speaker 1>improved and technology has improved, and now it's just much
<v Speaker 1>easier to do a game that feels more fully fleshed
<v Speaker 1>out and it if this is like where the it's
<v Speaker 1>foucom yeah, the FOULCM sort of a GRPG uh uh,
<v Speaker 1>you know, machine can end up like, oh, this is
<v Speaker 1>the start of a new generation of them being able
<v Speaker 1>to like have slightly higher production values. Just really good
<v Speaker 1>news for people who really like this genre. So yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Trails in the Sky FC, I believe that's that out now.
<v Speaker 1>If it's not, it's out, like h maybe tomorrow people
<v Speaker 1>can jump on that. All right, let's keep going. That
<v Speaker 1>claim is startling. That's what Tencent says as it fires
<v Speaker 1>back at Sony's lawsuit accusing it of cloning Horizon with
<v Speaker 1>light of Motoram. This is from Chris Scullion at VGC.
<v Speaker 1>Ten Cent has responded to a lawsuit which accuses its
<v Speaker 1>upcoming game of game Light of Motoram of being a
<v Speaker 1>slavish clone of the Horizon series. In July, Sony filed
<v Speaker 1>a lawsuit in California Federal court alleging copyright and trademark
<v Speaker 1>infringement and claiming that Light of Motoram is so close
<v Speaker 1>to Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West that players
<v Speaker 1>could be confused into thinking it's part of the same series.
<v Speaker 1>The suit also alleges that after starting work on Light
<v Speaker 1>of Motoram, Tencent then asked Sony if that wanted to
<v Speaker 1>collaborate on a new Horizon game, to which Sony declined.
<v Speaker 1>Sony claims that Tencent went ahead and made a Horizon
<v Speaker 1>Light game anyway. Ten Cent has now responded to Sony's lawsuit,
<v Speaker 1>and this is the new elements of everything else so
<v Speaker 1>far we've talked about before. Here's what's new here, calling
<v Speaker 1>the claims startling and accusing so of trying to monopolize
<v Speaker 1>a part of popular culture when in ten cents view,
<v Speaker 1>Horizon wasn't particularly original in the first place. That's kind
<v Speaker 1>of funny. We're not the clone, you're the clone. That's
<v Speaker 1>good stuff. As reported by the Game Post. Ten cents
<v Speaker 1>response suggests that by trying to sue it for a
<v Speaker 1>light of motorum, Sony is failing to acknowledge that other
<v Speaker 1>games feature similar concepts. Sony's complaint tellingly ignores these facts,
<v Speaker 1>it claims, instead, it tries to transform ubiquitous genre ingredients
<v Speaker 1>into proprietary assets by suing over an unreleased project they
<v Speaker 1>merely that merely employs the same time honored tropes embraced
<v Speaker 1>by scores of other games released both before and after Horizon,
<v Speaker 1>like Enslaved, The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild, Farcry, Primal,
<v Speaker 1>Far Cry, New Dawn, Outer Worlds, Biomutant, and many more.
<v Speaker 1>Sony seeks what Sony seeks, or Sony seeks an impermissible
<v Speaker 1>monopoly on genre conventions. Then they say, you know, the
<v Speaker 1>claim is startling, blahblah, Yeah, okay, but we know what's
<v Speaker 1>really happening here. You were trying to make a Horizon game,
<v Speaker 1>Sony said no, so you went ahead and did it.
<v Speaker 1>Anyhow do I think that this is a legal violation
<v Speaker 1>of Sony's copyright.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I just know when I look at it, I feel icky,
<v Speaker 1>jan and I think my part of me is like, Okay, well,
<v Speaker 1>then one of the ways you can police this if
<v Speaker 1>you are, at least if you're a major corporation, to sort.
<v Speaker 2>Of discourage this sort of thing is you sue the company.
<v Speaker 1>Whether you fully know or not you're going to win
<v Speaker 1>a copyright suit, because it's going to be expensive for
<v Speaker 1>both sides, and you sort of want to like create
<v Speaker 1>a somewhat showing effect for people who are like, let's
<v Speaker 1>just take the exact look of this other game and
<v Speaker 1>pass ours off as essentially the same thing that is
<v Speaker 1>a little bit different than you know, honestly, it's a
<v Speaker 1>little bit different than even Breath of the Wild. To
<v Speaker 1>ginsh an impact is that the one that got in
<v Speaker 1>trouble early on for kind of looking like a look
<v Speaker 1>at plays like Breath of the Wild and had some
<v Speaker 1>similar elements, like the world kind of looked the same generally,
<v Speaker 1>like this is just you know, the same exact key
<v Speaker 1>arc and with the exact same kinds of characters and creatures,
<v Speaker 1>to the point where if you held them up side
<v Speaker 1>by side, I think the average person, maybe even the
<v Speaker 1>average gamer, would have a hard time telling the difference.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Greb, there's those online games of like Guess the
<v Speaker 3>Game and you'll see like a zoomed in screenshot. If
<v Speaker 3>you saw a zoomed in screenshot of Light of motor Am,
<v Speaker 3>of course you would get it confused with Horizon. There's
<v Speaker 3>there's no way.
<v Speaker 1>Chat is watching the video that you have going right now,
<v Speaker 1>and everyone's like, what this is crazy?
<v Speaker 2>This is just a Horizon dead set. Come on, guys,
<v Speaker 2>come on, come on. It's that's what we say here, right,
<v Speaker 2>What else can you say?
<v Speaker 1>It's like other than come on, like, look, we get
<v Speaker 1>you got to defend yourself when we get the lawyers
<v Speaker 1>are doing their job, But who's buying this bullshit this is?
<v Speaker 1>And the same time I know it's bullshit? Do I
<v Speaker 1>know it's a violation of copyright law? I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I also don't care. I just think this This sucks?
<v Speaker 2>Now?
<v Speaker 1>Does it suck when you're doing it to Sony less
<v Speaker 1>than when it happens to like an indie developer, Like
<v Speaker 1>when Threes gets copied and then all of those free
<v Speaker 1>to play clones take over the marketplace and make it
<v Speaker 1>impossible for Threes to do as well as it probably
<v Speaker 1>should have.
<v Speaker 2>No, that sucks way more what happened to Threes?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but you know it's all part of the same
<v Speaker 1>concept and same idea. And I do think that actually
<v Speaker 1>Sony fighting back here would help even a smaller game
<v Speaker 1>like Threes.
<v Speaker 2>Now, not that much.
<v Speaker 1>The bad actors are still going to act bad whether
<v Speaker 1>or not because they don't they're not really paying attention
<v Speaker 1>to consequences. They're just they see dollar signs. So we're
<v Speaker 1>gonna this will still keep happening. And for the most part,
<v Speaker 1>especially when it comes to gameplay mechanics, I am all
<v Speaker 1>in favor of just steal that shit left and right.
<v Speaker 2>Who cares?
<v Speaker 1>That makes games better, That's awesome. When it comes to
<v Speaker 1>the exact look of a game at one feels.
<v Speaker 2>A little bit more squishy to me, where.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, ah, Power World was kind of they knew
<v Speaker 1>what they were doing and maybe even asking for it
<v Speaker 1>a little bit. And this seems even more egregious than
<v Speaker 1>Power World, right.
<v Speaker 3>Oh hardcore. At least in Power World they gave them guns,
<v Speaker 3>and you don't give a Pokemon. You can't give a
<v Speaker 3>Pokemon a gun as far as I know.
<v Speaker 2>Give a long neck a gun. Yeah, let's let them
<v Speaker 2>have one.
<v Speaker 3>But if you were watching this trailer, if you've seen
<v Speaker 3>the trailer for Light of motor Am. You would assume
<v Speaker 3>they added like a survival mode or a base building
<v Speaker 3>mode to a Horizon spinoff game. Yeah, greb, this looks
<v Speaker 3>super creatious and like the only thing I can think
<v Speaker 3>of is Tencent. Come on, yeah, y'all know what you
<v Speaker 3>were doing. You'll you'all have the resources. I'm not gonna
<v Speaker 3>feel bad for y'all.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, right, yes, especially when it's these two corporations fighting
<v Speaker 1>it out or whatever and then ten Cent coming out
<v Speaker 1>and going a little bit woe is me? Sony's trying
<v Speaker 1>like no one, no one really thinks that Sony's trying
<v Speaker 1>to own the hallmarks of this genre?
<v Speaker 2>What is the genre? Like uh, redhead Lady in alternative.
<v Speaker 1>Timeline, post apocalyptic fighting or post post apocalyptic, which is
<v Speaker 1>what I think Horizon called itself, and the still list
<v Speaker 1>looks kind of like that as well, fighting robot animals
<v Speaker 1>that have glowy yellow like wires across them, Like.
<v Speaker 2>It's exactly the same.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I got I'm gon overharp it on this
<v Speaker 1>at this point, but it is the thing that's actually
<v Speaker 1>starting into me is looking at call of Motrium or
<v Speaker 1>motorm Yeah Modium.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm not Calaurn's name modium.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, not not to continue poking at miscellaneous things with
<v Speaker 3>light of motorim grub. But as someone that plays folks
<v Speaker 3>watching the video version of the show right now, I
<v Speaker 3>play played a lot of the Hammer with in Monster Hunter,
<v Speaker 3>I'm just gonna say this, Grub. The hammer animations look
<v Speaker 3>almost one for one like they do in Monster Hunter.
<v Speaker 3>That they do in light of motorum.
<v Speaker 2>That I expect to be exactly the case.
<v Speaker 1>That's I mean, and that to me, that is a
<v Speaker 1>developer really likes a game and they're making a game
<v Speaker 1>that feels like that. And god, I mean you know
<v Speaker 1>that one's also a little bit maybe on the line
<v Speaker 1>taking exact animations and recreating them. But at a certain
<v Speaker 1>point you're like, swinging a hammer is probably swinging a
<v Speaker 1>hammer if someone did it really well, you want to
<v Speaker 1>emulate that.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like ready to like let that go.
<v Speaker 1>But I think it's just part of a pattern here
<v Speaker 1>of oh they are just copying and pasting everything. It
<v Speaker 1>is letting chet GPT do your homework the game, and
<v Speaker 1>here we.
<v Speaker 3>Are, you know, we there's a similar game from a
<v Speaker 3>couple of weeks ago, gre have Lost Soul aside that
<v Speaker 3>is obviously wearing its influences on its sleeve, right, very plainly.
<v Speaker 3>But it is doing enough different and not blatantly copying
<v Speaker 3>its influences like Final Fantasy fifteen. Right, it is doing
<v Speaker 3>enough enough stuff that is different for its character action
<v Speaker 3>genre that there's no legal action needed. Light of Motorum
<v Speaker 3>just feels like it is purposely trying to confuse the
<v Speaker 3>audience into thinking like, oh, this is Horizon, I'm gonna
<v Speaker 3>get this because right, we've talked about the Sonic Freaks,
<v Speaker 3>the Horizon Freaks grub almost one circle.
<v Speaker 1>Really, it's right, yeah, and it's a I think, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you're right, what you would kind of explain there, I'm
<v Speaker 1>with you. We should keep going here, Let's get to
<v Speaker 1>this next one and then we'll take a break. Marvel
<v Speaker 1>Beat Him Up Cosmic Invasion reveals two more playable characters.
<v Speaker 1>This is from Liam Dulan at Nintendo Life. The arcade
<v Speaker 1>style Beat Him Up Marvel Cosmic Invasion is on its
<v Speaker 1>way to the Switch and Switch to later this year.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's coming to everything ahead of released. Dot
<v Speaker 1>Emu and Tribute games have slowly been revealing new playable characters.
<v Speaker 1>This week, A new trailer has dropped for Black Panther
<v Speaker 1>and Cosmic Ghostwriter. An official description of both these characters
<v Speaker 1>has also been shared. This is King T'chala, the Black
<v Speaker 1>Panther and stalwart leader of Wakanda, dashes into battle wielding
<v Speaker 1>his vibranium enhanced suit and sonic daggers, and then Consmic Ghostwriter.
<v Speaker 1>After Anaiah Hillis and i Hollis has launched an unprecedented
<v Speaker 1>attack across the galaxy, Consumic Ghostwrider can't let that go unpunished.
<v Speaker 1>Atop his hell cycle, this wild incarnation of the Rider
<v Speaker 1>roars across the spaceways, and then both of them at
<v Speaker 1>a little bit more there. Hey, you're into some of
<v Speaker 1>this stuff. I like these characters. I think this game
<v Speaker 1>all always looked cool. At a certain point, it was like, well,
<v Speaker 1>you know, we're seeing what this game is. It didn't
<v Speaker 1>necessarily occur to me that they would keep revealing new
<v Speaker 1>characters for it. I'm with both of these now, Jan.
<v Speaker 1>It just seems like maybe you're unhappy about something.
<v Speaker 3>Grub Why why why why do they keep doing this
<v Speaker 3>to me? They do this with to con.
<v Speaker 2>Are they saving the best for last? Jan? Maybe they're
<v Speaker 2>saving the best for last.
<v Speaker 3>No, they're doing this to hurt me grub, that's what
<v Speaker 3>they're doing.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think so.
<v Speaker 3>I think the gaming industry, for as much as I've
<v Speaker 3>tried to be a positive person in it as uh
<v Speaker 3>apparently whatever. Someone on the Internet said that Cyclops is
<v Speaker 3>a cop once and everyone fucking ran away with it
<v Speaker 3>and never bothered to read the comics or ask me
<v Speaker 3>if he's actually a cop. He's the fucking leader of
<v Speaker 3>the X Men. Sure, he's a boy scout, but he's
<v Speaker 3>the boy scout that they fucking need, Grub put Cyclops
<v Speaker 3>in this goddamn game.
<v Speaker 1>Sorry, hey, Like, it's not You're right, It's not his
<v Speaker 1>fault that every single dude in f one fifty with
<v Speaker 1>their Facebook profile picture kind of looks a little bit
<v Speaker 1>like Cyclops where they're just got the sunglasses on and
<v Speaker 1>they're a white dude.
<v Speaker 2>So it's not his fault.
<v Speaker 3>He's he's it's based off of everything happening in the world.
<v Speaker 3>Let me tell you Cyclops is on the opposite side
<v Speaker 3>of it. Maybe bah, you know, orchestraate some of it.
<v Speaker 2>Cyclops is a cool terrorist. That's what I like about him.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, one of the cool terrorist Magneto is, right, is
<v Speaker 1>what we're discovering I think, come on, yeah, right at
<v Speaker 1>this point, and it's like I think, well, I think
<v Speaker 1>Cyclops is like you know that. That's the cool thing
<v Speaker 1>about Cyclops actually is he feels like he actually could
<v Speaker 1>be swayed by Magneto, but he's so loyal to Xavier.
<v Speaker 2>But that's my limited understanding of the character.
<v Speaker 4>We're gonna get a super shad to say Scott Summers
<v Speaker 4>is a cop. I'm gonna go line make a video
<v Speaker 4>essay next week to finally lay it down. All right,
<v Speaker 4>green lanterns, cops okay, Novac novacor yeah, cops, X men
<v Speaker 4>specifically Cyclops cool terrorists.
<v Speaker 2>All right, let's take a break. Let's all let's let
<v Speaker 2>things cool off here everybody.
<v Speaker 4>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>We got to hear from our our sponsor.
<v Speaker 1>If you want to skip out on this, giant bomb
<v Speaker 1>dot com slash join, become a premium member at the
<v Speaker 1>ad free version of the show.

<v Speaker 5>joke lore so you can jump in right now.
<v Speaker 3>We have an unhealthy relationship with the character Valdo from Sulkualaba.
<v Speaker 2>Rich really hates the Scandinavian.
<v Speaker 5>The most important spot is the number sixty nine spot.
<v Speaker 5>Every twenty three episodes we have a rerank of Palooza.
<v Speaker 3>The second number one one important spot is again not
<v Speaker 3>the the top spot, it's the bottom spot, which is
<v Speaker 3>perennially gonna be Child Leafrom Foulsand and seven Remake and Rebase.
<v Speaker 3>I'm so funny, Like, seriously, guys, you don't even know.

<v Speaker 2>We're back.
<v Speaker 1>It's Game Mass Mornings. I'm Jeff Grubb. That's jan at Choa. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you talked it out.
<v Speaker 2>We're feeling better. No, Superman, No, we're film just as bad.
<v Speaker 3>I'm still feeling just as hot Grub.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, Superman's a firefighter. He maybe can help with that. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>come qui off.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, okay. For folks that don't know, iiclops does not
<v Speaker 3>shoot laser beams. There's no heat in it. It is
<v Speaker 3>his eyeballs are portals from the punch dimension. So it's
<v Speaker 3>a concussive force that he's shooting out of his eyeballs,
<v Speaker 3>all right, he would use that concussive force to take
<v Speaker 3>out all of ice in maybe push current shitty political
<v Speaker 3>leaders down a flight of stairs.
<v Speaker 2>Jeane.
<v Speaker 1>I just think a lot of cops also come from
<v Speaker 1>the punch dimension. That's the big problem there, that's the issue.
<v Speaker 3>No, no, they be sitting on a different punch dimension crop.
<v Speaker 2>All right.
<v Speaker 1>Epic Games to allow Fortnite developers to sell in game
<v Speaker 1>items this week.
<v Speaker 3>We shouldn't put the phoenix in any of the X
<v Speaker 3>Men movies.
<v Speaker 1>Grub don't do it, just obvious. They never get it right.
<v Speaker 1>You know what, the cartoon did it perfectly. We don't
<v Speaker 1>need to ever do it again. This is from vicod
<v Speaker 1>at Games Industry dot biz. From December, Fortnite creators will
<v Speaker 1>be able to sell items directly from their Fortnite islands.
<v Speaker 1>Epic Games announce the new in game sales feature on
<v Speaker 1>September eighteenth, revealing that creators will be to create and
<v Speaker 1>sell dig digital, durable and consumable items they build for
<v Speaker 1>their games. This will use verse based API and new
<v Speaker 1>consumable items they build and oh excuse me and U
<v Speaker 1>E f N tools, which is unreal engine for Fortnite.
<v Speaker 1>They can't, however, sell physical items such as T shirts,
<v Speaker 1>which okay, yeah, why would you want to do that
<v Speaker 1>in the game any hand. While developers will ordinarily earn
<v Speaker 1>fifty percent of the v bucks value from items sales.
<v Speaker 1>From December twenty twenty five until December twenty twenty six,
<v Speaker 1>the rate will actually be one hundred percent. However, that
<v Speaker 1>doesn't mean they'll creators will earn one hundred percent of
<v Speaker 1>sales revenue. Basically, it just breaks down to, like the
<v Speaker 1>revenue gets put through a filter and Epic's not going
<v Speaker 1>to be taken like some cut of it. But because
<v Speaker 1>things get processed out, you don't get one hundred percent
<v Speaker 1>of the revenue. Some of that has to go to
<v Speaker 1>other places that Epica already has deals with, like the
<v Speaker 1>payment processors and things like that. Really, you know, the
<v Speaker 1>fundamentals of the story here are they're going to be
<v Speaker 1>able to enable like brands that have their own like
<v Speaker 1>u F in Fortnite Islands, and then just user generated
<v Speaker 1>content people people out there just making their own stuff
<v Speaker 1>to sell stuff the way the exact way that Roadblocks
<v Speaker 1>works basically, where now you could just have your own
<v Speaker 1>endgame economy and a.
<v Speaker 2>You know the egg raising game.
<v Speaker 1>That's super popular in Roadblocks, Well now you could do
<v Speaker 1>that in Fortnite and have all the same micro transactions.
<v Speaker 1>And this is part of the long term strategy of
<v Speaker 1>you don't make games anymore to sell on Steam. This
<v Speaker 1>is like the real way that they're going to fight
<v Speaker 1>against Steam. You don't make games to fight and to
<v Speaker 1>sell on Steam. You make games inside of Fortnite to
<v Speaker 1>reach that audience that's already playing Fortnite. This has worked
<v Speaker 1>for Roadblocks, it's worked for Minecraft, it is working in
<v Speaker 1>various ways for Grand Theft Auto and they're going to
<v Speaker 1>amplify those ways with Grand Theft Auto six. They have
<v Speaker 1>acquired a bunch of user generated content like companies as
<v Speaker 1>well as the role playing companies.
<v Speaker 2>So they're just going to go hard with whatever.
<v Speaker 1>Grand Theft Auto six's version of ugc IS and Fortnite
<v Speaker 1>is very much set up to do the exact same thing.
<v Speaker 1>A big part of that is they have the un
<v Speaker 1>real engine tools ready to go to enable people to
<v Speaker 1>make whatever they want way more powerful than what Roadblocks has,
<v Speaker 1>and now it seems like Epic is setting up the
<v Speaker 1>future to take.
<v Speaker 2>Advantage of that.
<v Speaker 1>I continue to be kind of an old man about this,
<v Speaker 1>Jan now I think maybe an old man who is
<v Speaker 1>justified in some of the criticisms of this, where it's
<v Speaker 1>like this enables these platforms to take even more money
<v Speaker 1>and put themselves between us and the games, and I
<v Speaker 1>think that that has repeatedly turned out bad and poorly.
<v Speaker 1>But at the same time, like, there's a reason people
<v Speaker 1>like this. They're comfortable already playing games on these platforms,
<v Speaker 1>and so there's a convenience factor that's hard to fight against.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Grub, folks that are curious about why this may
<v Speaker 3>be worry some check out any previous episode where Jason
<v Speaker 3>Finelli is on talking about roadblocks. This is an incredibly
<v Speaker 3>slippery slope, Grub, and Fortnite was kind of already a
<v Speaker 3>slippery slope for some households where kids would be racking
<v Speaker 3>up credit card charges for v Bucks and that was
<v Speaker 3>just for skins. Now you introduce more stuff into the
<v Speaker 3>marketplace where Okay, not only do I need v Bucks
<v Speaker 3>for this skin, but I also need money to play
<v Speaker 3>this mode that is blowing up amongst my friend group
<v Speaker 3>at school or whoever it may be a popular streamers
<v Speaker 3>checking it out. And now there's also all these other
<v Speaker 3>Michael transactions underneath that initial mode. It's kind of wild
<v Speaker 3>that epic is fine doing this. Epic was under some
<v Speaker 3>very like big lenses, and it was under fire Grub
<v Speaker 3>for like those dark patterns a couple of years ago. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>and I don't think they've done anything to really alleviate
<v Speaker 3>that pressure. And the unfortunate part is Epic has a
<v Speaker 3>lot of the resources to streamline this process in a
<v Speaker 3>way that you know, maybe roadblocks in even Minecraft, for
<v Speaker 3>as big as it is, won't be able to do
<v Speaker 3>versus Fortnite. And and I don't know, I'm with you, Grub.
<v Speaker 3>This feels very scummy. This feels gross in a way,
<v Speaker 3>and and kind of like it it taints my my
<v Speaker 3>enjoyment of Fortnite overall, because I just don't want there
<v Speaker 3>to be kids out there, or even not even kids,
<v Speaker 3>young players out there, other just people wanting to connect
<v Speaker 3>with their friends but they're getting scammed out of stuff
<v Speaker 3>because of Michael transactions.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, just like you know, it salts the earth a
<v Speaker 1>little bit for other kind of creative endeavors in gaming
<v Speaker 1>where where people like you know, I bet this could
<v Speaker 1>lead to a world where interesting ideas do still happen
<v Speaker 1>and new gameplay mechanics are still discovered and refined upon,
<v Speaker 1>but they are controlled at the end of the day
<v Speaker 1>by one company that owns that entire space.
<v Speaker 2>And that is not the way I want it to work.
<v Speaker 2>That is the opposite. I want.
<v Speaker 1>I want anyone to be able to come into this
<v Speaker 1>space and own everything that they created, even if they're
<v Speaker 1>informed by everything else that's happening, and so that they
<v Speaker 1>can grow up an alternative to something like that is
<v Speaker 1>super megapopular, and there's still a pathway for success for
<v Speaker 1>them now today there still is for the most part.
<v Speaker 1>You know, games still do pop off on Steam Early
<v Speaker 1>Access and become the biggest game in the world a
<v Speaker 1>few years later.
<v Speaker 2>That happens all the time still. Now.
<v Speaker 1>I think when I look at this, I just look
<v Speaker 1>at the long term timeline of like where things are
<v Speaker 1>going and how these companies are investing. And that's like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, Valve and Epic and a lot of the
<v Speaker 1>other ones are in a similar place where they're not
<v Speaker 1>investing in making their games. Really for the most part,
<v Speaker 1>Epic does invest in a lot in making Fortnite, but
<v Speaker 1>they're not making anything else outside of Fortnite. They're buying
<v Speaker 1>other companies that are to kind of increase their ecosystem.
<v Speaker 1>Their investments are going into things like this and tools
<v Speaker 1>and trying to get other people to like, they want
<v Speaker 1>to be the guitar and let other people make the music,
<v Speaker 1>and they want to make the money from everything involved
<v Speaker 1>in that process, and I just don't want that to
<v Speaker 1>subsume everything else to the point where a game can't
<v Speaker 1>come out of nowhere anymore and surprise us because that
<v Speaker 1>continues to be very important to me for being interested
<v Speaker 1>in the novelty of this hobby. I've always you know,
<v Speaker 1>I've been around for a long time now in gaming,
<v Speaker 1>and the one thing that I've been enjoying more than
<v Speaker 1>anything else is something that just feels new and.
<v Speaker 2>Different and weird.
<v Speaker 1>And not to say that fortnite uf UFN games can't
<v Speaker 1>happen and can't do that. I just don't want it
<v Speaker 1>all to be owned by Epic, or for all to
<v Speaker 1>be owned by Roadblocks, or for it all to be
<v Speaker 1>owned by Rockstar or Call of Duty or a handful
<v Speaker 1>of other platforms to have a chance of making this work.
<v Speaker 1>And if you're a developer and you want to make
<v Speaker 1>stuff in the space, you've got to go just work
<v Speaker 1>in these minds making more money for these massive corporations.
<v Speaker 2>That sounds terrible, yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Grub all right, I you know, thankfully. One of the
<v Speaker 3>other stories we have later in the show is just
<v Speaker 3>you know, song blowing up yep exactly.
<v Speaker 1>That's You're right, it's still there's still plenty of evidence
<v Speaker 1>that it's possible. Now, is that a winning lottery ticket
<v Speaker 1>compared to every other things?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? But kind of?
<v Speaker 1>How else has it really been ever? All right, let's
<v Speaker 1>keep going here. In new Nintendo Switch Online games, You're
<v Speaker 1>not dreaming. This is from Nintendo's Twitter account. Two classic
<v Speaker 1>game Boy Advance games are joining the Nintendo Switch Online
<v Speaker 1>Plus Expansion Pack library on September twenty fifth. Those are
<v Speaker 1>Clinoa Empire of Dreams and Mister Driller Too. Both look
<v Speaker 1>fantastic because they're game Boy Advance games and game Boy
<v Speaker 1>Advance games just look fantastic, And I think I played
<v Speaker 1>Mister Driller Too. I don't know I've ever played this Clino,
<v Speaker 1>I played some other Clinoa games. But apparently both these
<v Speaker 1>are pretty pretty decent. And also they're not first party games,
<v Speaker 1>so that's always fun to see, like, oh, Nintendo continuing
<v Speaker 1>to make deals to get games on their platform.
<v Speaker 2>At least I don't think Nintendo published these games. Maybe
<v Speaker 2>they did. Yeah, did you know game Boy Advance is
<v Speaker 2>something that you had? Did you play either of these?
<v Speaker 4>Oh?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, greb, I think if I were to listen my
<v Speaker 3>personal amount rush more of like video game consoles, and
<v Speaker 3>we're including handhelds. GBA is number one with a bullet
<v Speaker 3>for me. I love this Clinoa game. I honestly think
<v Speaker 3>we need more of this little cat rabbit freak back
<v Speaker 3>because it's just wholesome fun. It's for folks that may
<v Speaker 3>be curious about how Clinoa plays. I would kind of
<v Speaker 3>equate it to almost like a Kirby game, where it
<v Speaker 3>is a lot of just platforming, nothing too crazy, chill
<v Speaker 3>vibes all around. Also, you know Clono is cool because
<v Speaker 3>it's had his backwards.
<v Speaker 2>That's that's just the international sign for cool dude right there.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. I like Clonoa and I like mister Driller. I
<v Speaker 1>hope they keep I hope they keep updating this frequently
<v Speaker 1>and putting more stuff like this on here because it's like,
<v Speaker 1>oh yeah, I was just not expecting these games to
<v Speaker 1>show up on NSO and it's nice to see.
<v Speaker 3>Always loved the design of mister Driller. He just looks cool.
<v Speaker 2>Yep.
<v Speaker 1>It's like in that sort of Bomberman like cool, weird
<v Speaker 1>little dude look. And I'm down with that stick of
<v Speaker 1>a Nintendo. Nintendo might finally be bringing one of the
<v Speaker 1>most requested features to switch to. Maybe we'll see let's
<v Speaker 1>talk it out. This is from Jake Valentine at Duel Shockers.
<v Speaker 1>For years, Nintendo console owners have had to sit on
<v Speaker 1>the sidelines while Xbox and PlayStation consoles its console owners
<v Speaker 1>talked about achievements and trophies. Even Steam introduced achievements to
<v Speaker 1>its platform in two thousand and seven, Nintendo unfortunately has not.
<v Speaker 1>In twenty eleven, Bill Trendon explained that they're not going
<v Speaker 1>to do it, blah blah blah either way. On September fourth,
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo filed eight for a patent that hents heavily at
<v Speaker 1>the introduction of achievements on the Nintendo Switch to, or
<v Speaker 1>at least that's how people are reading this jan as
<v Speaker 1>clarified by Nintendo Patent's Watch, who does a good job
<v Speaker 1>of tracking these things. While the patent description doesn't flat
<v Speaker 1>out confirm achievements, it sounds pretty similar to them. Here
<v Speaker 1>are some of the important excerpts from the filing. A
<v Speaker 1>processor gives points to a user. Yeah, the processor gives
<v Speaker 1>points to a U S user if any of the
<v Speaker 1>of a plurality of giving conditions is achieved by the user,
<v Speaker 1>and gives a reward selected by the user from among
<v Speaker 1>a plurality of rewards. Let's see here, Basically, they're just
<v Speaker 1>saying you meet certain conditions like play a game and
<v Speaker 1>then maybe do something in that game, and then you
<v Speaker 1>get a list of rewards and then people can see
<v Speaker 1>if you achieve this thing. Now, I'm like, the reason
<v Speaker 1>I'm like maybe a little skeptical, jan is I thought
<v Speaker 1>they've had something like this for quite some time on
<v Speaker 1>like the mid Nintendo page online where it's like you
<v Speaker 1>can get Platinum points or not platinum maybe it is
<v Speaker 1>Platinum points, yeah, I think for starting up a certain
<v Speaker 1>game and then you can use those points to get
<v Speaker 1>a reward in the store. Is this not just a
<v Speaker 1>patent on that stuff?
<v Speaker 2>Is they? Are they not just patenting that?
<v Speaker 1>Like, this doesn't necessarily necessarily sound like something different to
<v Speaker 1>me other than maybe the ability to see if other
<v Speaker 1>people have achieved playing the game.
<v Speaker 3>This feels like it maybe more of that rather than
<v Speaker 3>like a wide swat achievement system. Maybe they're trying to
<v Speaker 3>do something more substantial with the platinum coin quests that
<v Speaker 3>they had originally grub I'm gonna say this hot take here.
<v Speaker 3>I don't fucking care about.
<v Speaker 2>Achievements, and I don't either. I don't either.
<v Speaker 1>Even at the time when I was like getting achievements,
<v Speaker 1>it was like maybe a couple of games that I
<v Speaker 1>just really loved and it maybe realized it's like, I'll
<v Speaker 1>do these achievements whatever, but I want to try to
<v Speaker 1>do this other thing, and it was like, oh, pac
<v Speaker 1>Man Championship Edition DX, or I'm just going to.
<v Speaker 2>Try to get a high score.
<v Speaker 1>That's an actual achievement if I could, like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>get a top one hundred score in the world or whatever.
<v Speaker 2>But you know, to each their own.
<v Speaker 1>I know there are people who love these things, and
<v Speaker 1>at the same time, I've successfully ignored them on the
<v Speaker 1>consoles where they do exist. So if Nintendo does want
<v Speaker 1>to do this, it will be no skin off my back.
<v Speaker 1>I will not notice that. That is fine. But yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I'm just not reading this as as them necessarily saying, oh,
<v Speaker 1>suddenly we're going to start doing an achievement, like a
<v Speaker 1>system wide achievements, you know, setting sort of thing.
<v Speaker 2>But could be wrong.
<v Speaker 1>We'll see people are like, of course, are like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>is this Nintendo patent putting a patent on gamer score
<v Speaker 1>or trophies and things like that, and you know, it
<v Speaker 1>sounds like that, and certainly they were trying to do
<v Speaker 1>that with the with the Pokemon summoning thing, But it
<v Speaker 1>is worth pointing out that patents are very specific often
<v Speaker 1>and this is what they're describing here would not apply
<v Speaker 1>to the way gamer.
<v Speaker 2>Score or the trophy system works.
<v Speaker 1>Those are different than you know, just getting like getting
<v Speaker 1>a certain achievement and the exchanging points for a reward
<v Speaker 1>that like, you have to do all of those things
<v Speaker 1>for this patent to apply, So it just would not
<v Speaker 1>be the same thing at all. Hollow Night Silksong has
<v Speaker 1>already surpassed four point two million in sales. This is
<v Speaker 1>from Blair Marnell at GameSpot. Hollow Night Silksong blew in
<v Speaker 1>like a hurricane at the beginning of this month, and
<v Speaker 1>it's already putting up numbers that major developers would envy.
<v Speaker 2>Silk Song pulled in five.
<v Speaker 1>Million players in just a few days when fact and
<v Speaker 1>the downloads on game Pass. Now Silksong is closing in
<v Speaker 1>on five million sales across all platforms, according to a
<v Speaker 1>new report. The Game Discover code newsletter has shared its
<v Speaker 1>latest sales estimates for Holly Nights silk Song. It's a
<v Speaker 1>pretty good newsletter. They know what they're talking about, although
<v Speaker 1>I do think maybe they're even undershooting it a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>They say three point two million copies are estimated to
<v Speaker 1>have been sold on Steam, while the game is believed
<v Speaker 1>to have pulled in five hundred thousand copies each on
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation four and five and Switch one and two.
<v Speaker 2>I would bet it's sold better on Switch one and
<v Speaker 2>two than that.
<v Speaker 1>That's just you know, when you break down most indie games,
<v Speaker 1>you know, it sells a certain number on PlayStation four
<v Speaker 1>and five or PlayStation consoles, and then it sells like
<v Speaker 1>double or triple that on Switch. But you know, again,
<v Speaker 1>these are safe estimations, so that would put like the
<v Speaker 1>overall number at around four point two million. I bet
<v Speaker 1>it's closer to like five or six right now. But
<v Speaker 1>either way, these are numbers that just about any developer
<v Speaker 1>would be envious of. Now, it's a twenty dollars game, sure,
<v Speaker 1>that certainly helps, but really the hype here was all
<v Speaker 1>earned by the game just being excellent and having an
<v Speaker 1>excellent predecessor to build on top of. So yeah, just
<v Speaker 1>it sounds like this game is, this is the success
<v Speaker 1>that we all thought it might be.
<v Speaker 3>These are the feel good stories for me greb where
<v Speaker 3>I love seeing, I guess an indie game pop off
<v Speaker 3>in such a strong way and rightfully so get there
<v Speaker 3>not only the critical success, but the financial success as well,
<v Speaker 3>and smashing sales goals or not having to be mired
<v Speaker 3>down by like investors saying like, well you need to
<v Speaker 3>add multiplayer to this, give where's the silk Song dix huh.
<v Speaker 3>So I'm happy that for as much crap as there
<v Speaker 3>is in the industry and how live service games are
<v Speaker 3>being shoved down our throats, I'm happy original, fun, great
<v Speaker 3>ideas like Silk Song are able to succeed and prove
<v Speaker 3>that this is what the audience wants. The audience wants
<v Speaker 3>a game ass game.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, yeah, you know a two D Metroid Vanua selling
<v Speaker 1>this well is it's kind of shouting like indie games
<v Speaker 1>are on their own track, right, because if this game
<v Speaker 1>came from one of the major publishers, first of all,
<v Speaker 1>I would be sixty dollars like Metroid Dread was. And
<v Speaker 1>maybe that was the limiting factor there, but I don't
<v Speaker 1>necessarily necessarily think so.
<v Speaker 2>I think the limiting.
<v Speaker 1>Factor is Hollow Night feels cool and like special because
<v Speaker 1>it's coming up out of nowhere, and now you're picking
<v Speaker 1>this and making it part of your personality, which I
<v Speaker 1>think is totally cool. And then Metroid's like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>that old thing from that old corporation. They're trying to
<v Speaker 1>kind of keep trying to make fetch happen. And as
<v Speaker 1>much as I am a Metroid fan, I could see
<v Speaker 1>why people are glombing onto Holly Night in a way
<v Speaker 1>that they have not ever done so with another Metroid venua,
<v Speaker 1>especially two D Metro Venua.
<v Speaker 3>I also think that Metroid runs into the final fantasy
<v Speaker 3>problem grub, where people have seen the name Metroid perhaps
<v Speaker 3>their whole gaming lives, and never quite explored any entry
<v Speaker 3>into the franchise, and they think like, oh well, maybe
<v Speaker 3>this is all too connected, maybe this is too convoluted.
<v Speaker 3>I'm just gonna go towards something else. And you know
<v Speaker 3>that's the Silk Song's benefit for sure, but it still
<v Speaker 3>blows my mind when you share that crub that Metroid
<v Speaker 3>has never done well in terms of sales.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, it's always been, always been very limited, and as
<v Speaker 1>always worth pointing out, a big part of that is
<v Speaker 1>never really caught on in Japan in any major way,
<v Speaker 1>and so Nintendo has sort of treated it as a
<v Speaker 1>step child in Japan to a certain extent.
<v Speaker 3>Has Castlevania popped off in Japan?
<v Speaker 1>Then, I think so, you know, off the top of
<v Speaker 1>my head, I'm not sure, Jan, but that sounds I
<v Speaker 1>think it's done better than Metroit. Has you know, Gothic
<v Speaker 1>European gothic sort of stuff is popular in Japan, whereas
<v Speaker 1>like maybe this, I know that kind of sci fi
<v Speaker 1>is popular, but maybe it's just popular with but they're
<v Speaker 1>not weeds, right, if they're just in Japan Otaku's is
<v Speaker 1>that what it is?
<v Speaker 2>Maybe that stuff's just.
<v Speaker 1>Popular with that niche audience, and so and got you know,
<v Speaker 1>European gothic stuff is popular with a broader audience.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe I'm just guessing here.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, all right, then, the Last one Skate
<v Speaker 1>passes two million players as devs fix major issues.
<v Speaker 2>This is from Eddie mccowitt game spot.
<v Speaker 1>A lot of people have played EA's new Skate game
<v Speaker 1>since it launched on September sixteenth. How many according to
<v Speaker 1>the developers, the New Skate, the first in fifteen years,
<v Speaker 1>reached more than two million players in its first twenty
<v Speaker 1>four hours. It has some issues they're going to update it.
<v Speaker 1>They say that they're stoked about this, you know. Early
<v Speaker 1>I think early word is people are feeling this game out,
<v Speaker 1>and there's a lot of reasons to be skeptical. It's
<v Speaker 1>in early access, but it has micro transactions you could
<v Speaker 1>pay for right now. It's a free to play game,
<v Speaker 1>and it's an open world, and I think people are like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>it's kind of a.
<v Speaker 2>Barren open world. Now.
<v Speaker 1>For me, it's like that sounds like exactly what I
<v Speaker 1>was expecting, because I think the idea is you're supposed
<v Speaker 1>to get in there with your friends and.
<v Speaker 2>Sort of fill out the world yourself.
<v Speaker 1>You're supposed to go hang out there and like, you
<v Speaker 1>pick a corner with your friends and you start building
<v Speaker 1>some cool stuff, because apparently that's a big part of it.
<v Speaker 1>I've not experienced experimented with that yet. And then other
<v Speaker 1>people are in the world with you, they see what
<v Speaker 1>you're doing and either they start doing it over in
<v Speaker 1>their corner or they join you and hang out. And
<v Speaker 1>it's supposed to be like this very sandboxy thing. Now,
<v Speaker 1>how conducive is this open world to that sandboxingess that
<v Speaker 1>maybe maybe that's where the disconnect is. I've only played
<v Speaker 1>like an hour and a half of it. I have
<v Speaker 1>no idea at this point. I just as I play it, though,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, I think there's something here.
<v Speaker 2>I think, but I'm not a skate guy, so like when.
<v Speaker 1>I'm coming I'm not coming to this with thinking, oh,
<v Speaker 1>this needs to do exactly what I needed to get
<v Speaker 1>out of the original skate games. I'm just like, is
<v Speaker 1>this fun now? And maybe that's where the disconnect is
<v Speaker 1>happening for me. What are your early feelings about Skate
<v Speaker 1>as you see people reacting to it.
<v Speaker 3>I'm a skate fan grub. I really enjoyed one, two,
<v Speaker 3>and three, But everything I've seen so far of Skate
<v Speaker 3>with a period here, it just looks very barren and
<v Speaker 3>not in like in an appealing way. It kind of,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, it kind of cheapens the feel of
<v Speaker 3>the game, at least from and I've yet to play it,
<v Speaker 3>but from like the outside looking in, it looks like
<v Speaker 3>all of the other Skate clones that have come out
<v Speaker 3>since Skate three, where it is just an empty environment.
<v Speaker 3>There's just nothing there. There's there's no life, and I
<v Speaker 3>don't know something that I think appeals to a lot
<v Speaker 3>of people about the Tony Hawk games is how much
<v Speaker 3>of an attitude there is to it, how much of
<v Speaker 3>like a vibe there is each individual level, And I
<v Speaker 3>think you're kind of robbing Skate of that by having
<v Speaker 3>it be in a very big, wide open area and
<v Speaker 3>kind of hoping that the player finds something to do
<v Speaker 3>in it. It's weird that this is coming from a
<v Speaker 3>big publisher like E because everything that I've seen of
<v Speaker 3>Skates so far just reminds me of those random Steam
<v Speaker 3>parkour games that we've checked out, or like the other
<v Speaker 3>multi player hangout slop that we'll see blowing up occasionally
<v Speaker 3>on the internet. It again, I have yet to play it,
<v Speaker 3>so take my opinion with a grain of salt that
<v Speaker 3>it doesn't look like I think it makes sense that
<v Speaker 3>they're not calling it Skate four grub because yeah, it
<v Speaker 3>doesn't earn.
<v Speaker 2>It no, I figure it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, And I think it's you know, you like,
<v Speaker 1>it looks like a lot of those other park car games.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think that's necessarily a bad place for this
<v Speaker 1>game to be, no, because it's like, you know, there's
<v Speaker 1>a chance that it sets the tone of yeah, this
<v Speaker 1>is a bit of a goofy game where we want
<v Speaker 1>things to kind of feel like a little slapstick and
<v Speaker 1>in the humor there, I think they're just missing one
<v Speaker 1>thing to really bring it all together. And when I
<v Speaker 1>was I was in a skate preview, Uh, this is
<v Speaker 1>the thing that me and Mike we're talking about where
<v Speaker 1>we're like, I think we're supposed to get code, and
<v Speaker 1>we never got the code and we were too afraid
<v Speaker 1>to ask, like what we were doing wrong, so we
<v Speaker 1>never played it early. But before that, we were in
<v Speaker 1>a pre briefing and we got a chance to ask
<v Speaker 1>some questions and I asked like, hey, what about prox chat.
<v Speaker 2>Is that something you guys are thinking about here?
<v Speaker 1>And you could tell like the developers like basically I
<v Speaker 1>looked at each other like one of them was like,
<v Speaker 1>I told you, I told you we should be doing
<v Speaker 1>prox chat. And that's basically what they said, is this
<v Speaker 1>is something I always talk about, and you know, I'm
<v Speaker 1>very curious and we're not going to launch with that,
<v Speaker 1>but something we might think about. I think if this
<v Speaker 1>thing had proximity chat and like fully sort of closed
<v Speaker 1>the loop of Oh, it's one of those games. It
<v Speaker 1>is a hangout friends slop game that HAPs to be
<v Speaker 1>focused around skating and setting up like fun little skate parks,
<v Speaker 1>and then and then maybe it got you know, it's
<v Speaker 1>Fallout seventy six NPC update where it's like, there's NPC's
<v Speaker 1>in the game now.
<v Speaker 2>I think there probably are, but like there should be.
<v Speaker 1>It seems like there should be a lot more going
<v Speaker 1>on in the world, and that seems the big update
<v Speaker 1>that it needs to kind of make people feel like it's.
<v Speaker 2>A real video game.
<v Speaker 1>I think if they can hit those a handful of
<v Speaker 1>those things in this early access period, especially considering I
<v Speaker 1>don't hear anyone complaining about the skating.
<v Speaker 2>I don't hear anyone.
<v Speaker 1>No one's complaining about the way it feels to actually
<v Speaker 1>skate in the video game. I guess people are saying
<v Speaker 1>it's faster to roll to Somersault, it's faster to Janachoa
<v Speaker 1>than it is to skate in this game. And I
<v Speaker 1>think people are like, wait, what's going on there? But
<v Speaker 1>I think I like that it looks stupid and fun.
<v Speaker 1>So if that stuff is solid, they should have the
<v Speaker 1>foundation to begin building and responding to what people are
<v Speaker 1>actually saying they want. And then what the you know,
<v Speaker 1>the gameplay data says people want so I think it's
<v Speaker 1>in a decent position, and I you know, I'm a
<v Speaker 1>fan of early access, so I hope it all works.
<v Speaker 3>Out for I'm curious to see if any of the
<v Speaker 3>like I'm a skater type of stuff that was probably
<v Speaker 3>in Skate one, two and three, like you know, like, hey,
<v Speaker 3>you're gonna be on the cover of Thrasher if any
<v Speaker 3>of that is in skate.
<v Speaker 2>I think, you know.
<v Speaker 1>That was the other thing I was going to bring
<v Speaker 1>up is maybe the tone actually is a bit off,
<v Speaker 1>and I hope they're able to adjust that, because it
<v Speaker 1>does feel someone to chat with saying the you know,
<v Speaker 1>the sanitized, corporate version of the world that they're presenting
<v Speaker 1>here is a little bit off putting.
<v Speaker 2>I agree, excuse me, I agree with that.
<v Speaker 1>It is a little off putting in the way that
<v Speaker 1>it presents itself as like, yeah, we're just all super
<v Speaker 1>into these brands and things like that. It feels like
<v Speaker 1>maybe this, you know, it's not as quite as bad
<v Speaker 1>as a Forts of Horizon, but it does feel like
<v Speaker 1>the skating version of that slightly and I kind of
<v Speaker 1>want things skating culture should be a little bit more
<v Speaker 1>counter and in your face, and that's you know, and
<v Speaker 1>like you should look in your face.
<v Speaker 2>Oh shit, Okay, we're still doing this show.
<v Speaker 6>I'm back to talk about Castlevania sales numbers. The series
<v Speaker 6>now a thank you game that sold over two million copies.
<v Speaker 6>It's best selling game was Lords of Shadow.
<v Speaker 7>It's often, oh weird, often struggle to find an audience
<v Speaker 7>in Japan, and that is why between Arifsorrow Donosaur they
<v Speaker 7>changed from that gothic art style to that pathetic bad
<v Speaker 7>anime one pathetic.
<v Speaker 3>There you go.
<v Speaker 2>No, he's right, it's bad. Oh that dinosaurrow art.
<v Speaker 6>It's actually makes me more angry than most things in
<v Speaker 6>video games.
<v Speaker 3>But also used to you know, selling two million copies.
<v Speaker 2>This that's fine too, so by yeah, yeah, right, it's
<v Speaker 2>not right, not some failure. It's not what we're saying.
<v Speaker 2>We're just trying to get it right. Thank you, Mike.
<v Speaker 2>All right, that.
<v Speaker 1>Does it for the headlines. Let's get to the poll question,
<v Speaker 1>which we still have not done for some reason. I
<v Speaker 1>have it the results right over here. This is from yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>Are you ready for Hades too? This is definitely maybe
<v Speaker 1>a question more applicable to us who are playing way
<v Speaker 1>too many games.
<v Speaker 2>But I guess maybe there's a bunch of you out there.
<v Speaker 2>I feel the same way either way.
<v Speaker 1>The respondents don't seem that worried about if fifty six
<v Speaker 1>percent are saying yes, forty four percent say no. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know. That's a bigger response than I was expecting. Actually, Jan,
<v Speaker 1>I was like, yeah, won't go over fifty percent. How
<v Speaker 1>many people are like immediately ready to play Hades too.
<v Speaker 1>It's one of those games that like was big in
<v Speaker 1>our circles.
<v Speaker 2>But I guess it's maybe it's bigger than I even
<v Speaker 2>was even expecting. Are you ready for Hades too?
<v Speaker 3>Jan, I've already put in sixty plus hours.
<v Speaker 2>In takes two went up.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, so, and I I'm excited to hear y'all's opinions
<v Speaker 3>on and and takes on some of the very fun stuff.
<v Speaker 3>There are some boss battles in this that are like, Yo,
<v Speaker 3>what are y'all doing? But in PARENTHESI is positive I'm
<v Speaker 3>god Hades too. When I saw this poll question in
<v Speaker 3>the doc yesterday grub for whatever reason, and apologies, folks,
<v Speaker 3>this is a wrestling reference. I just think I just
<v Speaker 3>see Milinae like as Oscar from ww saying like, no
<v Speaker 3>one is ready for Oscar because no one is going
<v Speaker 3>to be ready for Hades too, because I think the
<v Speaker 3>folks that may have bounced off of Silk Song because
<v Speaker 3>of the difficulty or for whatever reason, they're gonna glomb
<v Speaker 3>right onto Hades two.
<v Speaker 2>Yep.
<v Speaker 1>Although Milinoay's got the Rhea Ripley back, she's just got
<v Speaker 1>those back muscles. That's they you know what, Just pick
<v Speaker 1>a wrestler and have them do Milinaay cosplay to celebrate
<v Speaker 1>this game launching.
<v Speaker 2>That's what I want to see.
<v Speaker 1>There we go, all right, we have a new pole question.
<v Speaker 1>We'll get to it here in a secon. Actually know what,
<v Speaker 1>let's do it now. New Pole question. Have you spent
<v Speaker 1>money on user generated content?
<v Speaker 2>Yes?
<v Speaker 4>No?
<v Speaker 2>Or I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe I guess there's this certain part it's like I
<v Speaker 1>don't remember if that was user generated content. It could
<v Speaker 1>feel that way in the Minecraft Store jan where I'm
<v Speaker 1>like occasionally getting stuff from my kids, and I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>I think most of this is UGC, but it's not
<v Speaker 1>necessarily like labeled obviously as such. I think if you
<v Speaker 1>look you see the there's a byline and it says,
<v Speaker 1>oh this is by this, you know, third party team
<v Speaker 1>of independent creators. But that's it's just like that's a
<v Speaker 1>tiny little thing and it's just everything else in the
<v Speaker 1>store presents it as another piece of Minecraft content. So
<v Speaker 1>maybe you don't necessarily know, or maybe you do and
<v Speaker 1>you can answer accordingly. We'll get the results. Talk about
<v Speaker 1>that here on Game mess Mornings on Giant Bomb tomorrow
<v Speaker 1>chance speaking a giant bomb.
<v Speaker 2>What do we have to look forward to?
<v Speaker 3>Uh? Right after this? Maybe y'all should take a quick
<v Speaker 3>break before before it. But you Dan and Mike Minatti
<v Speaker 3>are going to be digging a hole and keep digging.
<v Speaker 3>That's right, a multiplayer co op digging game. Speaking about
<v Speaker 3>multiplayers slot but this is fun, you know, just digging
<v Speaker 3>a hold the boys.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, what I need to look how many players that is?
<v Speaker 1>I want to see if maybe we can just invite
<v Speaker 1>people in randomly.
<v Speaker 3>Later today we have an episode of the Voicemail Dump
<v Speaker 3>Truck with our dear friend Emily Panic joining us. That's
<v Speaker 3>right from albumer Fame, Emily Panic is joining us on
<v Speaker 3>the dump Truck Dump Truck today Tomorrow Games Mornings and
<v Speaker 3>upf I believe we were checking out Skate to end
<v Speaker 3>the week.
<v Speaker 1>I am I'm looking forward to that. I want us
<v Speaker 1>to like just go in there and give it a
<v Speaker 1>real chance and see what we think. I know some
<v Speaker 1>people were really happy with it. Uh snow bike Mike,
<v Speaker 1>he seems to love it over it kind of funny.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, let's see.
<v Speaker 1>Let's see if we can get into it ourselves. I'm
<v Speaker 1>looking forward to keep digging as well. It sports up
<v Speaker 1>to ten players. Oh wait, no, I'm sorry, multiplayers up
<v Speaker 1>to eight players, and then it has ten layers. That's
<v Speaker 1>a different word, Jan, that's not even the same word
<v Speaker 1>at all.
<v Speaker 3>It's close, all right.
<v Speaker 2>It's yeah, very close.
<v Speaker 6>All right.
<v Speaker 1>We did the poll question, we did the schedule of
<v Speaker 1>upcoming stuff. I've not thanked Jan Ochoa. Yeah, Jan, thank
<v Speaker 1>you so much for hanging out with me today and
<v Speaker 1>talking about video games.
<v Speaker 2>Man, I really appreciate it.
<v Speaker 3>It's the best way to start a Thursday grub.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you all for listening and watching. You are the
<v Speaker 1>best audience in video games. Until next time, have a
<v Speaker 1>good one, take care of yourself, and goodbye.
