I'm an executive producer who have produced some of your favorite shows, from the Real Housewives in Atlanta, New Jersey and my own creation, The Love and Marriage Franchise and Bell Collective. Every episode, we recap reality television from The Real Housewives Franchise to The Bachelor or Selling Sunset, in addition to celebrity guests, whether in the unscripted space or scripted as well. Hey, rain drops on today's episode of Reality with the King.

00:01:05
Speaker 2: Look, I think that this is.

00:01:08
Speaker 1: The century or the decade of my vindication because I've been saying for years that Meriton Medicine is the best showing Bravo that y'all not watching. I said that years ago, but now y'all watching it and not everybody loves it and now I'm here with somebody because she's wearing a coat due to the fact that her back hurts because she's been carrying the season.

00:01:35
Speaker 3: Give it up, Toya, bunch hair, not carrying the season.

00:01:39
Speaker 4: Okay, I can't do it alone. So you out to my castmates. I love my friends. My castmates, y'all are amazing. My producers, man, we had We have had some great producers over the years.

00:01:50
Speaker 3: To be honest with you, I'm just highly blessed. Really am. They taught me everything I know.

00:01:55
Speaker 1: Toy Toya non it out you. First of all, we're both from Detroit, you and our friends in real life. Yes, in my life when I have been championing for this show, yeah, forever, and the moment I got my podcast, I used it to say, look, guys, you gotta watch this show. How does it feel now to know that I feel like this show is finally.

00:02:22
Speaker 2: Getting the momentum it deserves.

00:02:24
Speaker 4: Well, I'm going to say right off the back, I appreciate you because you could only be talking about your shows.

00:02:31
Speaker 3: But I appreciate that.

00:02:32
Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, because it goes a long way when someone can say and have the biggest heart for their people and say, you know what, this is just a good show. Whether I like your production team or whatever, I love y'all and y'all are good tv and we need it because really and truly it's just us. You know, we're a little pond. We're a little fish in a big pond. It's like, you know, there's a ton of housewives, know.

00:03:00
Speaker 3: But you know, married to medicine. It's just us right now.

00:03:03
Speaker 1: Hopefully now listen, you ladies are the ependeme of great television.

00:03:08
Speaker 2: Y'all. Clock in this season is off the charts.

00:03:12
Speaker 1: Before we get into a lot of that, we have to start with the breaking news.

00:03:16
Speaker 2: Oh that Quad and King did break up. It was announced first on.

00:03:24
Speaker 1: Sunday where King said that, you know, somebody said.

00:03:30
Speaker 2: Oh, can you look good?

00:03:33
Speaker 1: Qua's a lucky woman, and he responding and said her luck ran out, her luck ran out. And then another woman says something, and he said, I left the situation. Were you surprised when you learned that Quad and King broke up?

00:03:52
Speaker 4: I was more surprised that I and I prayed it. Quad gives me the same grace that she's gonna give Heavenly, because you know, Heavenly came on your show, and she said, that's my friend, and so Qua's my friend now too, you know, And Quad said, you know or Heavenly said, should I say heavenly?

00:04:10
Speaker 3: So let's make it clear.

00:04:11
Speaker 4: Heavenly said that they've been broken up for months, right she did, you know? And I'm just curious how many months you know? Because Quad is right, you know, and so it's Heavenly. He has developed relationships to the point where thank you, King shout out to you know, giving my son one of the best birthday gifts ever. And I appreciate him. He's been there for my husband. They have celebrated Father's Day together. He was there at my husband's birthday. And he's become a good friend, you know. And I and I don't want y'all to think that we go around befriending.

00:04:51
Speaker 2: No.

00:04:51
Speaker 3: Quad brought him to us.

00:04:53
Speaker 4: Okay, And he's a nice guy, and I hate that this season it's so hard for him because really and truly and her, but you know, really and truly I think the relationship was over during the season.

00:05:07
Speaker 3: Cold towards her or just distant. I'm not even gonna say cold.

00:05:12
Speaker 4: He's distant and he's not as loving as he was and you can see it, you know what I'm saying. And I think that the viewers are going to start seeing a different scenario with him as they continue to watch the show, and then you'll ask yourself, were they together? Because that's what I started asking king myself.

00:05:33
Speaker 2: Did you ask him yourself?

00:05:35
Speaker 4: I did, but it's not my business to tell. I think that it's something that you know.

00:05:40
Speaker 5: High Quad.

00:05:42
Speaker 3: I'll call you, yeah, yeah, please do because.

00:05:45
Speaker 2: Have you reached out to Qua since learning about the breakup?

00:05:47
Speaker 4: Quad has actually been there for me recently my father has been in the hospital.

00:05:51
Speaker 3: She called me, she prayed with me.

00:05:54
Speaker 2: You know.

00:05:55
Speaker 4: Quid has been a friend to everybody this season, and so that's why it's so hard, because it's like, God, I don't want to argue with my friends, you know, I don't want to go back and forth, you know. But it is sad because I feel I'm one of those people that you know, I fight for everyone I do. You know, even if you're my enemy, I'm still fighting for you if it's the right thing to do. And I just feel like it's just so unfair when when you only hear one side of the story, that's all you know, that's what the media is for.

00:06:26
Speaker 2: Well, you know you you did mention that you.

00:06:30
Speaker 1: Solicited King service because he owns a luxury car dealers chef and he did a surprise for your son. Do you think you broke the girl code by keeping in touch with your friend's X man?

00:06:45
Speaker 4: You know, I don't keep in touch. I do not have his phone number. I do not have his DM. I have it.

00:06:51
Speaker 3: I know what this DM is. But yes, absolutely, absolutely his.

00:06:56
Speaker 2: You don't think you're trying to follow him.

00:06:57
Speaker 3: Eugene and him are good friends.

00:06:59
Speaker 2: But are y'all good friends?

00:07:00
Speaker 3: Am I good friends with King? I'm about as good of a friend with King as I am. A quad?

00:07:05
Speaker 4: Me a quad are just getting our relationship together. So come on now, now you know that shit? Okay, that's like that that God forbid.

00:07:14
Speaker 2: You know.

00:07:14
Speaker 3: The day we're good, tomorrow we're not. So you know I can't.

00:07:17
Speaker 4: I'm not doing all that, you know now, Simone went unfollowed Jackie the other day. But I don't follow people. Okay, I it ain't that deep. Okay, I just mute you. I will mute your story.

00:07:31
Speaker 3: Period.

00:07:33
Speaker 1: So okay, So when it comes to another revelation that happened because this has been a busy married to Bedison week. Yeah, your friend, doctor Simone has been posting a lot of things about doctor Jackie. She said that after doctor Jackie appeared or watch What Happens Live, doctor Simone tweeted, you are still defending the devil in all caps, and then doctor Simone posted a screenshot of comments of people telling doctor Simone that doctor Jackie is not her friend. And we've learned that doctor Simone has unfollowed doctor Jackie.

00:08:23
Speaker 2: What do you make of that?

00:08:25
Speaker 4: You know? I just feel it's actually really really sad because Jackie and Simone go back to Simone being there when Jackie went through a huge ordeal with cancer.

00:08:36
Speaker 3: And I remember when we first started married to.

00:08:39
Speaker 4: Medicine and they said to me, nothing is gonna come between us, okay, because.

00:08:44
Speaker 2: We are this right here.

00:08:47
Speaker 4: And I was like, okay, girls, all right, you know, and I believe them, you know, And I hate to say it, but this time it is the devil. And I'm not gonna call Heavenly a devil, gonna say I think it's a spirit on her because the reality is what y'all are seeing on television is half of the story.

00:09:08
Speaker 3: All the time. Thank God for the camera.

00:09:10
Speaker 4: And that's why someonone kept saying review the footage, rewind the tape in the green screen, and they did. And I love my production team for doing that, because the girls will lie, and she lied and someone was not unhinged at all. And I'm not just saying that because that's my friend, because I defend even my enemy.

00:09:32
Speaker 3: Period.

00:09:35
Speaker 1: When you saw someone grab Heavenly's arm.

00:09:41
Speaker 4: Remove, let's use let's use the word remove Heavenly remoa.

00:09:45
Speaker 1: Yes, okay, you did you feel like that was enough for heaven to feel like you've gone too far?

00:09:55
Speaker 4: No, because just before that, if you really rewind the footage, you'll see Quad and I and I'm grabbing Quad, Like, calm down when you're hearing Simon, that was an unhinged moment. I pushed me through things back security jumped in the midst.

00:10:12
Speaker 3: That's unhinged. Okay.

00:10:15
Speaker 4: What Simone did was make a statement, and the statement was don't touch me.

00:10:21
Speaker 3: And I think anyone should be able to do that.

00:10:24
Speaker 4: Thank God, we're able to do that on TV, you know, because people will try to provoke you and and and put you in uncomfortable situations that make you feel like you have to react. And I can speak to it because I've been there. I remember people flipping my hair and all of that and and everything else that came with it years ago, you know. But it takes a strong woman to say, please take your hand off of me, and I will not do this, and I respect it.

00:10:56
Speaker 3: Props to her.

00:10:58
Speaker 2: Do you think, doctor jack he is a good friend to someone own.

00:11:06
Speaker 4: I think that she could be a better friend to many. I think that there's a lot of times where Jackie has dropped the ball, you know, and she's just she's not the Jackie that I knew years ago. I'll never forget Lemon Squeeze Jackie. I'll never forget coming to her house and I was so sad and she had my back with Mariah, and you know, something switched, you know, within the last maybe five years or so, And I think so, I think honestly, it was something that happened when we were filming and Jackie broke in the tears, you know, and she.

00:11:54
Speaker 3: Was arguing with Mariah.

00:11:55
Speaker 4: It was the whole thing about the drugs, and Jackie was just so hurt and broken and Heavenly came to her rescue. And I think from that moment on That's where Jackie just decided, I would rather not even stand up for anyone, you know, if just to not be in that pain again. And you saw how she handled the Buffy situation. She was she was mortified, you know, I mean sad daily, you know. But at the same token, you keep doing the same thing, you know, like she does some slip ups, you know, and I think we all do, you know. But the difference is she she wants to pass for her slip ups, you know. And I know this is a little bit more than what you asked about friendship, but I think that a friend should be able to tell their friends when they're wrong. A friend should be protective, you know. And I think that Jackie would not have been okay with someone lying on her.

00:13:13
Speaker 3: She wouldn't have been okay with any of that.

00:13:16
Speaker 4: She would have been she would have been asking for them to be fired or saying that she will not be on the show anymore. And so why is it any different for Simone? And why would you go on National TV on watch What Happens Live and not tell the truth, not defend.

00:13:31
Speaker 1: That when it comes to doctor Jackie's friendship with Simone and Heavenly. Do you think she sides with Heavenly more than simone? And if so, why do you think she sides with Heavenly more?

00:13:47
Speaker 4: She absolutely sides with Heavenly more. But I think that a lot of the girls look to Heavenly for protection. And it's crazy that you I would use that word, right, You're like protection, but you know, you know what it's like when the girls come for you and it's more than one. You know, a lot of us think that we can handle reality TV. I thought I could, you know, but that this is a beast right here, This is this, This is.

00:14:14
Speaker 3: The hardest thing I've ever done in my life. It's worse than birth. Okay, all right, this right here, This and a tummy tuck.

00:14:20
Speaker 4: Those two things are the worst things I have ever Okay, And honestly, I just you know, she doesn't want to go through the fire alone, and Heavenly is willing to fight these girls' battles. That's why you see some of the new girls running up behind her, not even trying to see anybody else's point of view, you.

00:14:46
Speaker 3: Know, just just strategically.

00:14:50
Speaker 4: I mean, seriously, her and Qua's relationship, you know, Heavenly, Oh you know as my friend. I love her, but I can talk now. Okay, Well I'm her friend. Can I talk? Can I do the same?

00:15:03
Speaker 2: Can you?

00:15:04
Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. I don't know. We're gonna see or union Friday.

00:15:08
Speaker 2: And it's dropping Thursday. Okay, that far?

00:15:12
Speaker 3: That far?

00:15:13
Speaker 2: Hey, we're union content?

00:15:17
Speaker 1: Yes, indeed, Well listen you when when you when you talk about the girls following Heavenly the new Girls.

00:15:25
Speaker 2: You know, doctor Mimi is a new cast member and.

00:15:30
Speaker 1: She's very opinionated. I think she's wonderful for the show. I love doctor Mimi.

00:15:35
Speaker 3: You mean Brandy? Are you talking about Brandy or me?

00:15:38
Speaker 4: Me?

00:15:38
Speaker 3: I'm sorry? Did you mean Brandy? Did you mean Brandy? I know you meant Brandy. Stop playing. You don't mean Randy.

00:15:50
Speaker 2: I love Brandy too.

00:15:51
Speaker 3: Okay, that's the realest one now right, Okay.

00:15:53
Speaker 4: She's giving you herself. She's a breath of fresh air. Praise God for brand Thank you.

00:15:59
Speaker 2: I've been Barry Bulka.

00:16:00
Speaker 4: I'll let's talk about Brandy. What don't you want to talk about? I'm just saying, I'm sorry.

00:16:07
Speaker 3: Am I taking over? I'm sorry? As your platform as you do, Okay.

00:16:11
Speaker 2: I love you? You about Detroit saistor, all right, we grew up together that I'm gonna get to Brandy in a second.

00:16:17
Speaker 3: Okay, okay, you are bounced it.

00:16:20
Speaker 1: Out, But I would like to start with doctor Mimmy. I think she's great for the show. Her husband is I can say this. You can't, not that you would.

00:16:32
Speaker 2: But attracted.

00:16:33
Speaker 3: You think he attracted?

00:16:34
Speaker 2: Oh yes, really I think Steve?

00:16:36
Speaker 3: What the boys say? What? What? What are you saying?

00:16:50
Speaker 1: I have never conducted an interview on this podcast that has been award winning, featured in People magazine, Shade Room, that has a mass today over one hundred and forty seven million views, where someone has beat me at my own game in an interview.

00:17:11
Speaker 4: You know, it's God, all praise I am.

00:17:16
Speaker 2: You are really good. You know.

00:17:18
Speaker 4: My pastor's wife says she would like to see what she wants the world to see what she sees. And I said, okay, all right, I got you.

00:17:27
Speaker 1: No listen, I love everything about you.

00:17:31
Speaker 2: You are really dominating his interview and I'm here for it. Now back to doctor Mimi.

00:17:35
Speaker 1: I think Steve is gorgeous. I think he's stunning. Yes, no disrespect doctor me me, but Steve is extremely attractive, and so.

00:17:44
Speaker 3: Isene but is extremely attracted surprise game.

00:17:51
Speaker 1: First of all, I want to give you his flowers because I have lots of questions about you and your gene.

00:17:59
Speaker 2: Now before he gets here, honey, I'm gonna stick on Steve.

00:18:02
Speaker 3: Honey, Okay, how long? All right?

00:18:06
Speaker 2: Okay, sorry Mimi? AnyWho? Back to Mimi. I think Mimi is great for the show. Do you think Mimi is following behind Heavenly for protection?

00:18:16
Speaker 3: Absolutely?

00:18:17
Speaker 4: I definitely think she's following behind Heavenly for protection and really and truly, I would have to differ with you.

00:18:23
Speaker 3: I think Steve is great for the show. I do.

00:18:26
Speaker 4: I think Memi, on the other hand, needs some work, but I think Steve is great.

00:18:30
Speaker 2: What work does she need?

00:18:31
Speaker 3: Just you know, you got to learn to stand on your own two feet. You gotta stop.

00:18:35
Speaker 4: No, she does not. She likes to use special trigger words. Does she learned being a psychiatrist?

00:18:40
Speaker 2: You know?

00:18:41
Speaker 3: Chaos? She's in chaos? You know she you know? Am I safe with her?

00:18:49
Speaker 4: You know?

00:18:51
Speaker 2: You know?

00:18:52
Speaker 4: Heavily didn't get that she's unhinged. That was me me, stop playing Stop. When did we heard Heavily say anything like that?

00:19:01
Speaker 3: Besides? Yo, mama, people, honey.

00:19:15
Speaker 6: I'm obsessed with medicine.

00:19:18
Speaker 2: You don't watch this show. I don't know what the fuck are doing.

00:19:20
Speaker 3: The best because we want the truth where everybody wants the truth. Like, let's stop with that.

00:19:24
Speaker 2: You don't think doctor is being truthful? Child?

00:19:27
Speaker 4: I think, Hey, I can get under the people's skin. Okay, I didn't know I was made for TV, but I guess I am. You are, so it is what it is?

00:19:37
Speaker 3: Okay, can I can I be sony? Okay? Okay, Okay, you know, but I get it. You know what I'm saying. I understand.

00:19:50
Speaker 1: This is reality with the King, and I'm Carlos King. Let's get back into the show.

00:19:56
Speaker 4: All I'm saying is, if I can give me me any advice, if you want to stay or married to medicine, learn how to have your own opinion.

00:20:08
Speaker 3: Learn how to.

00:20:10
Speaker 4: Stop trying to pretend like your psycho analyzing your friends. But really you're judging your friends because none of us have sat on your couch, none of us have spent any time with you outside of filming, and so you know nothing about any of us except for Quad and Heavenly, those are the only individuals you can diagnose.

00:20:32
Speaker 3: Period.

00:20:34
Speaker 2: Has she tried to get to know you and some own.

00:20:37
Speaker 3: No, she doesn't call us.

00:20:39
Speaker 4: There's been numerous times where my husband tried to reach out to Steve.

00:20:44
Speaker 3: Maybe my husband too fine for him. You know, it was a competition.

00:20:47
Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. He can't hang out with my man because my man worked. Okay, I'm just saying, yeah, what.

00:20:54
Speaker 5: Does Steve do?

00:20:55
Speaker 3: Oh he works under his wife. I think you work as his wife, which I'm okay with. I don't know. He's the office manager. I mean in every scene, they just say go to work. I ain't see no work, but they just say go to work. I don't know. But I don't know. I don't know. Is there paper on this desk?

00:21:12
Speaker 2: I don't you tell me.

00:21:14
Speaker 3: I mean, that's that's rewind the footage is.

00:21:17
Speaker 2: Steve the mile version of Toya.

00:21:19
Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, that's why he's so cute. Wait, yes, I told you he's perfect for our show.

00:21:31
Speaker 2: He's perfect a.

00:21:34
Speaker 3: Bunch old men. You know what I'm saying. It's nice to have a little youthful you know.

00:21:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, speaking of youthful Angel, I think it's great for the show.

00:21:44
Speaker 4: She is, Angel is breathtaking. Angel has to be honest. Angel spoke up a lot. You know, I'm not gonna bite Angel's bait because really and truly Angel knows TV and she she needs something for the reunion. She does because you know a lot of times Angel spoke up and it just wasn't shown, you know. And I think because she has a big booty, and I think they was like, baby, that is better TV.

00:22:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, eighty is what it is. She looked great in her clothes.

00:22:11
Speaker 4: Don't she remember that cute little silver dress. Oh my god, it was popping out in every direction. We're talking about God at the same time.

00:22:17
Speaker 3: It was crazy.

00:22:18
Speaker 4: Okay, But I will say this, I love having Angel on the show. She's spicy, she's pretty, she is fun, you know, and I love the fun girls. And I think the more youth we add to our show, the fun of the show is because I'm a different person when I have my youth around me. So I love Angel on the show. Gray, thank you for hiring Good Joys.

00:22:42
Speaker 2: And you are proverbs thirty one woman yourself? Yes, yeah, you know what that means.

00:22:47
Speaker 3: I know.

00:22:48
Speaker 4: I am well, I would like to be a proverb thirty one woman. I mean, there's some things in that proverb, like you know meekness, kindness.

00:22:55
Speaker 3: Obviously, it's some things that I'm working on.

00:22:59
Speaker 1: I'm gonna read it to you and you tell me. If Toya bush Hair is working on Proverbs thirty one woman, you're ready for this?

00:23:06
Speaker 2: Yes, okay?

00:23:07
Speaker 4: Because she did call them all a Proverbs thirty one. Proverbs thirty one woman, you should be uprod. Yeah, she was quoting it. I saw that too.

00:23:13
Speaker 2: Yes, let's see what You're ready? Okay, ready for this? Okay, I got I read this chot.

00:23:17
Speaker 3: Okay, thank you.

00:23:19
Speaker 2: Virtuous and trustworthy? Is that you?

00:23:23
Speaker 3: My friends would say so.

00:23:26
Speaker 2: Earning her husband's full confidence.

00:23:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, he would say so, okay.

00:23:32
Speaker 2: Strong and dignified, oh, very generous and wise.

00:23:37
Speaker 3: Absolutely, My sons would say so.

00:23:42
Speaker 2: Faithful Yes, I think, yes, I think.

00:23:46
Speaker 4: I think. I think it's hard to faithful to what faithful to your husband? Oh I'm absolutely I'm faithful to my husband and to marry to medicine.

00:23:55
Speaker 2: Absolutely. Oh my bad, it said her alto It really bes painful to God.

00:24:02
Speaker 1: The ultimate praise is based on her fear of the Lord rather than merely her beauty or her charm.

00:24:08
Speaker 4: That part is that you, that part, baby, I'm not going to hell for nobody. And I always say that too, and the girls know, down to the down to they all know if this one thing I can get from Toya as a prayer, I can get. They know that my relationship with God is strong. And I'm scary, you know about I don't want to go to hell. I don't want to lie.

00:24:34
Speaker 3: I try.

00:24:35
Speaker 4: You know, when I was younger, there was a lot of things that I did that I'm not proud of.

00:24:40
Speaker 2: And they like having do your turn paper to get a date with.

00:24:44
Speaker 4: You, No like stealing, like you know, being arrested as a child, you know, just putting my mom through hell.

00:24:54
Speaker 3: You know, rebellious you know, rebellious spirit, you know.

00:25:01
Speaker 4: And I think when I look back, if I could just redo some parts of my life. But it's okay because you know, God said, guess what I got grace for you, and look at you now.

00:25:13
Speaker 3: He said, because some people won't see.

00:25:16
Speaker 4: If I wasn't on TV, you would think, you would never think. You know, my friends know that there is that Toya.

00:25:24
Speaker 1: You know.

00:25:26
Speaker 4: I read somewhere on Instagram and it said if my girlfriend had six husbands and I have six brother in laws, because and neither one of them will know because that's my girl, you know. And I am faithful to my friends. I value the friendships that I have. I just got back from the dr of fifty and from my girl just turned fifty and I've known her since I was in sixth grade. All of my friendships date back that far, you know, except for the girls I'm married to me. But even with them, it's been over fifteen almost eighteen years for some of us.

00:26:05
Speaker 3: And I'm a faithful friend.

00:26:09
Speaker 4: I am, you know, But there comes a time where being faithful doesn't mean you have to lie. And I've never asked my friends to lie for me, and I'm not gonna lie for them.

00:26:20
Speaker 1: Based on what I read about the definition of a proverb thirty one one man, well you was confused.

00:26:24
Speaker 3: You thought he was talking about Eugene. No, so let's let's redo that. Let's talk about God.

00:26:31
Speaker 1: So that they said, I'm gonna say a name, and you tell me if they are a proverb thirty one woman.

00:26:38
Speaker 2: Based on the definition, do you remember.

00:26:40
Speaker 3: It shoulder honey?

00:26:46
Speaker 2: Oh, that's the perfect time.

00:26:47
Speaker 1: Hey, honey, here, come on, be a Eugene.

00:26:56
Speaker 3: You look amazing.

00:27:03
Speaker 1: No, Eugene is when I had Eugene and see someone podcasts. First of all, the numbers went through the roof because it was nice to hear just from them. Yea, and the way they love up on the women.

00:27:18
Speaker 4: But that's what that's our show up part too. Our men are there working for free. They are not being paid.

00:27:26
Speaker 3: They are just there to support their wives.

00:27:29
Speaker 4: And that is a very loving place because there's a lot of housewives husbands that say they're not doing it.

00:27:36
Speaker 1: And you know, the thing is, and I can say this public because I already said it. You know, Cynthia used to give Peter ten percent of her paycheck.

00:27:44
Speaker 3: And and someone might she might, You should ask her.

00:27:47
Speaker 4: I don't know, but Eugene gets way more than ten percent because Switzerland.

00:27:50
Speaker 3: Was way.

00:27:54
Speaker 5: What I miss.

00:27:57
Speaker 6: So much.

00:27:58
Speaker 2: Talk us. Don't worry. There's one question I do want to get your opinion on.

00:28:04
Speaker 3: Oh yes, I know what that is.

00:28:09
Speaker 2: You really are okay, So listen, rain drops.

00:28:13
Speaker 1: We are blessed with the presence of this great man who I.

00:28:18
Speaker 2: Revered so much. I'm not gonna get emotional.

00:28:21
Speaker 3: You should he just drove in from work.

00:28:23
Speaker 2: No, but I know he did, but.

00:28:26
Speaker 3: You no.

00:28:27
Speaker 1: But he also The thing about doctor Eugene is I was going through something personal. You know about that, yes, oh, yes, yes, yes, yes yes. And I called Toya and I said I need to talk to Eugene, and Eugene was there for me. And and I just want to say for the world to know, this is a good man, Savannah like like like in real in real life. This man helped me through something that I was going through on a personal level through somebody in my life. And I just think you're the greatest thing in the world. So give it up for doctor Eugene Harrid.

00:29:03
Speaker 5: Thank you. I appreciate it.

00:29:05
Speaker 1: Now, you didn't miss all of the girl talk, but I do have to you came in at the right time because I was reading the definition.

00:29:12
Speaker 5: You know, they say, I need to stay out of women's business.

00:29:17
Speaker 6: Reality the Kings man, this man is obviously the women's business, so welcome to my book.

00:29:24
Speaker 3: His wife is his business period period.

00:29:27
Speaker 1: So as you know, Angel mentioned on the show a Proverbs thirty one woman, and I want to know if your wife fits the description virtuous and trustworthy, yes, strong and dignified yes, generous and wise yes.

00:29:44
Speaker 2: Faithful.

00:29:45
Speaker 1: Now with that being said, I'm gonna name some names and you tell me if they are a Proverbs.

00:29:50
Speaker 2: Thirty one woman, Okay.

00:29:53
Speaker 3: For me or him, both of y'all.

00:29:55
Speaker 4: He can't he's okay, okay, fine for you, okay, but you.

00:30:00
Speaker 2: Can make a noise if you disagree.

00:30:01
Speaker 1: Okay, I make faces, okay, dom thirty one woman, doctor Heavenly.

00:30:08
Speaker 4: She is not trustworthy, so no, okay, Doctor Simone, Yes, Doctor Jackie, Yes, Quad.

00:30:24
Speaker 3: I'm developing the trust. We're trying.

00:30:27
Speaker 4: But in the past there has been some things that has shown me that I think trust in faithful. But if we're talking about faithful to God, that's different. I think we're all striving to be probably thirty one women, and I don't want to say that I can judge anybody because I fall short. Okay, Yeah, Doctor Mimi, I don't know her.

00:30:51
Speaker 5: She's a cast mate.

00:30:52
Speaker 3: She doesn't call me, we don't spend any time together. We're on a group thread. That's all I know.

00:30:56
Speaker 1: Y'alls wearing matching pajamas, celebrating Christmas brob them for us.

00:31:01
Speaker 3: At Walmart? Okay Walmart?

00:31:04
Speaker 4: Yeah?

00:31:04
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:31:07
Speaker 5: No shape the Walmart.

00:31:09
Speaker 2: No shame.

00:31:10
Speaker 4: I mean it could have been, but we're not going to target right.

00:31:14
Speaker 1: Now, you know, I mean, okay, wrapping things up Brandy.

00:31:19
Speaker 4: Absolutely, yes, from what I spend time with her, I speak with her. I said earlier, my father is going through some things in the hospital. Brandy has been there for me. Simone has been there for me.

00:31:34
Speaker 3: Thank you. Yeah, they've all been great.

00:31:37
Speaker 4: Everybody else has given their prayers, and my friend Group Quad has prayed with me.

00:31:42
Speaker 3: But yeah, she's been a great friend.

00:31:44
Speaker 4: And I love the fact that when Mimi tried to put her on the spot and tell her who she should align herself with, Brandy said, I'm gonna need you not talk to me like girl, I got this, you don't.

00:31:57
Speaker 3: I don't need you to do any of that for me. Okay. It's like that part okay, because.

00:32:02
Speaker 4: You've grown and you have your own voice and you are not manipulated by the people.

00:32:07
Speaker 3: That part.

00:32:08
Speaker 1: And last, but not least, the woman who made the statement alive Angel is Angel.

00:32:14
Speaker 2: A Proverbs thirty one woman.

00:32:16
Speaker 3: I'm getting to know Angel.

00:32:19
Speaker 4: Honestly, the longest time I've spent with her was after the party we had at the house where everybody said I went crazy and went off with my husband in a disrespectful way. She stayed her, Angel stay Quad, stayed King stayed until three in the morning. We were all outside talking and had a.

00:32:38
Speaker 3: Wonderful time, had a wonderful time. Well, isn't that something a wonderful time.

00:32:42
Speaker 1: I'm glad we get to talk about that, But before we get we get to talk about that night that literally broke the internet. I do want to ask you, doctor Eugene. Recent news broke that King and Quad have broken up, and I wanted to get your thoughts on it. Are you surprised by the news or did you see it coming.

00:33:02
Speaker 7: I hate to say I kind of saw it coming to a certain degree, only because and I'm actually cool with King, and I think, you know, he's a new friend, but I actually would use the word friend. We actually talked, We hung out on Father's Day, like we I hang out with King. King always had an issue. I think that the focus of their relationship was baby only. You know, when you're a new couple and you're just getting to to, you know, meet this person, the focus should be getting to know them, not fertility stuff. And you know, I think that it was too much focus on other stuff other than really establishing their bond. And I think it it affected him to a certain degree.

00:33:46
Speaker 2: Have you spoken to him since the news broke, or did you I.

00:33:50
Speaker 5: Told him the news broke. I said, hey, Ken, you all over the internet.

00:33:54
Speaker 2: Well, he brought the news himself. He told us part, well tell them all.

00:33:56
Speaker 3: Before that news.

00:33:59
Speaker 7: No, he did know that that his his comments were on the internet.

00:34:04
Speaker 3: Oh well, he went on the internet and made the comment.

00:34:06
Speaker 5: I know he didn't know that it would hit him with Yeah.

00:34:09
Speaker 1: Oh.

00:34:09
Speaker 7: I was like, hey, I said, hey, Ken, you know you're on TMZ. He's like, huh, so I sent it to him.

00:34:14
Speaker 4: He was like, oh, but see the TMZ call him because they called or the called TMZ quiet.

00:34:19
Speaker 7: A statement came after King's stuff blew up. I believe when did you know they broke up?

00:34:26
Speaker 5: When did I know they broke up?

00:34:27
Speaker 3: Excuse me, I'm sorry to you.

00:34:31
Speaker 5: He said, this has been done.

00:34:34
Speaker 7: Because I think that because the focus was off, like they just weren't on the same page, you know.

00:34:40
Speaker 3: All at all.

00:34:40
Speaker 4: That's we would advise everyone to enjoy your relationship for as long as you can and establish a bond between each other so that hopefully once you have the kids yet that bond is first you know, it's unbreakable in front of the kids, and you know, our kids, I tell you, Gene all the time, we got to we have to be on the same team.

00:35:04
Speaker 7: Yeah, let me retract that statement because actually, even when I think of like I've been, you know, we've been you know, we go to marriage counciling.

00:35:12
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:35:12
Speaker 7: So one of the things I've been trying to really self reflect on some things, and I was like, you know, and think of thinking about things more philosophically almost. I think when a man and woman fall in love, when she has a baby, she falls in love with that baby to a certain degree. And it's hard to be in love with two people at the same time in love, you know. And so when you look at a man and a woman after they have children, the focus does shift off the man to a certain degree, and I think they never had I think, the full experience of falling in love because they were probably going in that direction.

00:35:51
Speaker 5: But then the shift it to I want.

00:35:52
Speaker 7: To have a baby. I want to have a baby. I want a baby. So King's like, as a man, what about me? What about us?

00:35:58
Speaker 3: Like those are the questions I would ask him.

00:36:01
Speaker 4: You know what made you put aside everything that you need for her needs?

00:36:06
Speaker 3: You know?

00:36:07
Speaker 4: Why did you stay and film and continue when y'all were not in a good.

00:36:15
Speaker 3: Place, like that's what I want And I never asked, and I could have.

00:36:21
Speaker 4: But if you ask, and you know, and someone asks you, then you're obligated to tell that they ask for the truth. And so I'd rather not know so much, you know. But I think there's a story there, definitely.

00:36:41
Speaker 1: Well we will fight out, but what I will say is there's a story going on with YouTube that has rattled social media. Episodes ago, you guys had a party at your house and you two got into an argument. And how to get to the specifics of it, Because y'all were there, we all watched it. But Toya, people do not like the way you speak to your husband, and they think you emasculate him on purpose. They think you don't respect him, and even Heavenly has said something along the lines of you treat him this way maybe because you want something else.

00:37:23
Speaker 2: What do you have to say to people who feel this way?

00:37:26
Speaker 4: I think I'll start from the back end of Heavenly. I think that we all think at some point in our life that we need or deserve something else whenever things aren't going our way. And I think when it comes to my husband, the one thing I know for a fact is that he chose me, and God spoke to me and said he was for me.

00:37:53
Speaker 3: And I was like, what you know.

00:37:57
Speaker 4: I didn't even I wasn't even ready for marriage really, but he was like, that's for you.

00:38:02
Speaker 3: He's for you.

00:38:03
Speaker 4: And every since we've been together, we've been blessed and because we're obedient, and I was obedient to God, and so I know that Eugene is for me.

00:38:15
Speaker 3: It doesn't mean that we're.

00:38:16
Speaker 4: Not gonna have that we're gonna be the perfect couple. I've only met one couple that I say sometimes is borderline perfection. They laugh all the time. It's my aunt and my uncle. But the reality is Eugenie and I have been on camera now, I think for almost thirteen years, and so the camera no longer is present.

00:38:41
Speaker 3: It's almost like it's.

00:38:43
Speaker 4: A little stranger in the room, but it's like you don't really pay any attention. And that particular day, it was a real life scenario that that was something that me and Eugene has had we fought to overcome. In the beginning of our marriage, we would have some heated discussions in front of our friends and it was uncomfortable for them because they loved us both. We would even try to make them choose sides. It was bad, and I think that the public is right to a certain extent. I shoot from the hip.

00:39:18
Speaker 3: I'm blunt, I can be rude.

00:39:20
Speaker 4: I I don't mean to emasculate my husband, and I definitely it's not my intention to attack him. By no means, I do feel like there are times when I'm unheard and I need more self control when it comes to speaking to my husband, whether it be or during a camera, you know, around friends or in private. I think that we both are a work in progress, you know. But I'm by no means perfect, and that's my prayer. Now, that's my struggle, and I'm just glad that my ultimate judge is God, and he knows my heart. He knows that I'm really trying to be a nicer person when it comes to my husband.

00:40:19
Speaker 3: And we even learned in our marriage counseling that.

00:40:24
Speaker 4: We have some triggers that we've had for years, you know, And one of my triggers is not being her because as a child, I always felt like my voice was.

00:40:39
Speaker 3: I couldn't use it in my mother's house.

00:40:41
Speaker 4: It was her word and that's it. And so when I grew up, I was like, nobody going to tell me, you know, And it was all of that. And you know, growing up in Detroit, it was like, you know, it's a battle sometimes, you know, my family, it.

00:40:57
Speaker 3: Is what it is.

00:41:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, because in Detroit.

00:41:04
Speaker 3: We can polish up nights, but.

00:41:06
Speaker 1: You well, in Detroit you're not again except for the rules, but being raised in Detroit in a household with parents, you are not allowed type of boys.

00:41:17
Speaker 3: No, no at all.

00:41:18
Speaker 5: It's what they say.

00:41:19
Speaker 3: In his household, he was raised the same way.

00:41:22
Speaker 5: I think there's.

00:41:24
Speaker 7: I think the public obviously sees us and judges us, you know, they and we're pretty open. I think we give a good representation of think of who we are. But the public still doesn't see the whole. Toya, they don't see the whole, Eugene, Like, I know how she grew up. She knows how I grew up. You know, I know, I know her parents, I know her where she came from, I know all these other aspects of like you just might see Toya saying something, but I know where it came from, you know, so I get I get it, you know, if I know the backstory and understand the whole person. Sometimes when she says something, I may not take it the way the public is going to see it, because I get what's happening.

00:42:04
Speaker 4: And it's not him making excuses for I think it's recognizing too that there are some things that happen and he's growing and when he was growing up, and they may have made him a certain type of way where he triggers me.

00:42:19
Speaker 3: And and that does he do.

00:42:21
Speaker 2: That triggers you specifically?

00:42:25
Speaker 3: I think, I mean, if I can I be honest, are you sure?

00:42:31
Speaker 5: I don't know what you're about to say?

00:42:33
Speaker 4: I mean, I think that one of my triggers is I don't like for him to drink a lot, especially on camera. I think in that scene they thought I was drunk, but really, and truly, my husband had worked hours and not eight and he was having a great and I was pissed, you know, and I was trying and I'm so used to him being my my ride die and helping me through these scenes, and that day he was kicking it with the guys, and I'm like, we're trying to make a show, you know, what are we doing here? And so it just, you know, it was things that was happening that just were you know, it was triggering for me. And when I kept trying to get his attention, you know, and I was like, hey, hey, honey, can you please, can you do this? They only showed you know. I mean we were at my house for over four hours. They showed a forty five minute version of it. There were so many times where I had asked over and over.

00:43:29
Speaker 3: I had asked.

00:43:29
Speaker 4: Scott had even stood up and was like, I'll do it, Toya, you know. And it wasn't that I was trying to get him to do what I say. It's not it. It's just that at that moment, it's pressure, you know. And when I see my friends giving me that look, that side eye, and then I see people that aren't even my friends like me me, you know, that don't know us, don't know our relationship, but that are looking for something. I was angry, you know, and it came out, and I admit, you know, I took a lot of it out on Eugene, you know. And I think that through marriage counseling, it's great because we we talk about, Okay, why do we still have the same triggers that we've had here that we no longer need.

00:44:16
Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.

00:44:17
Speaker 4: I need to feel safe with my husband, and sometimes I don't always feel that way, you know, and I think that what.

00:44:27
Speaker 2: Does safe look like for you? When it comes to him.

00:44:33
Speaker 4: A good example, being raised in Detroit, you might have stayed in the house with bars on the window, right, bars on the front door.

00:44:41
Speaker 3: You know that was my scenario. I remember.

00:44:46
Speaker 4: My stepfather always saying it's a man's job to lock each door, make sure the house is on lockdown when it's time to go to be it. You know, I never saw my parents drinking in front of me. And I'm talking about my stepfather and my mother, not my father, but just providing an environment where I can be who I need to because I know he got me. And I guess that's why, even though he's not an alcoholic and he can drink and have a great time, it triggers me because I know that once he gets thereed and it's my turn to be that.

00:45:31
Speaker 3: Protector.

00:45:32
Speaker 4: And I don't want to be that. I don't always want to be the strong girl. I feel like I was raised being that and I want to be soft too, you know. I want my husband. We're working on the trigger words. I said, can you just call me lovey when you want to calm me down? Because I want to be loving. I want to be all the things that he needs. And so we're figuring out where we are eighteen years later in our marriage and what we need individually and can he provide that for me? Absolutely, But I have to be at a place where I can express them, where he can hear me.

00:46:18
Speaker 3: And so I'm working on me and he's working on home.

00:46:22
Speaker 1: And how does it feel for you to hear her say those things?

00:46:27
Speaker 7: I mean, we're working progress, you know, And I think you're always trying to reinvent yourself to be better and that's and that's what she's doing. That's what I'm doing. So if I mean, if I would, I would be disappointed. She was like, Oh, I'm perfect, you know. It's it's only it's only your problem, you know, And you're the only one that needs to change. That's not what's what she's saying. She's like, Hey, yeah, I have triggers, and some of my triggers are because my parents. Some of my triggers are past relationships. Some of my triggers are the shit you're doing now, you know. But I think recognizing it, I think is the first step of change.

00:47:07
Speaker 4: But I think he also has to and we are figuring this out in our marriage counseling. He has to own the fact too that he get defensive. And when he gets defensive, is it necessary? Is that going to help him to get his point across to me? You know? And so there are things now that as a married couple, you know, we're working on, but owning your part in it, owning your things that you know, I can't worry about so much him owning or.

00:47:44
Speaker 3: Telling the world his business. That's his business.

00:47:46
Speaker 4: But I don't mind because they're paying me, you know, and there and they're always going to show me in a certain light, you know, and I hate that because I try to change it all the time, you know. Like you'll see towards the end of the season, I just was like, I have to stop giving it to him. You know. I can't blame production for anything because I give them these moments. And so if I just I got to figure out a way to still make good TV, but do it in a way that makes me proud, my pastor's wife proud, my husband proud, and God proud.

00:48:25
Speaker 1: Right, But I do think that starts with you, right, And I hear you a lot and clear when you say and I never knew that you Obviously you were a little girl, right, who.

00:48:36
Speaker 2: Did not have a voice in her own household.

00:48:39
Speaker 6: Right.

00:48:40
Speaker 1: And as you got out, you sort of like broke free, you know, from a spiritual standpoint, a physical standpoint, an emotional standpoint, you were free.

00:48:50
Speaker 2: It reminds me of when I left Detroit at.

00:48:53
Speaker 1: Twenty two, and I was don't laugh, I was in the closet with this voice, still in this manimism.

00:49:07
Speaker 2: Don't blame me, don't me anyway, shut up.

00:49:11
Speaker 4: To I believe it though Detroit is Detroit was in the closet for a long time.

00:49:16
Speaker 2: Absolutely.

00:49:17
Speaker 1: But my point is I grew up in a household where I could not be my full self. So when I left Detroit, I moved to New York City, and baby I became everything I came to be. And when I came back home a year later, I had two earrings, right, And my father said to me.

00:49:35
Speaker 2: That's it, right, And I said, m hmm.

00:49:38
Speaker 1: But my point was, I understand what you're going through in terms of like your expressed of because you weren't able to do that. But I do think this though, if I can give you some of the device as my sister.

00:49:51
Speaker 2: I do think this.

00:49:52
Speaker 1: I think you said something that I was going to say to you too, and I'm glad. I'm glad you said it because it shows.

00:49:58
Speaker 2: Me you're growing.

00:49:59
Speaker 1: You're repeating the same cycle over and over again, and you have to you have to tell yourself how are you able to.

00:50:09
Speaker 2: Manage your reaction to things?

00:50:12
Speaker 1: Because you are very expressive and he isn't right and his expression looks very different than yours.

00:50:18
Speaker 2: And the one thing I want to talk to you about though.

00:50:21
Speaker 3: Because he did say what the fuck?

00:50:26
Speaker 2: Well? I do again.

00:50:28
Speaker 1: I'm a viewer, but I think I can speak on behalf of America.

00:50:33
Speaker 2: And I say this with love.

00:50:34
Speaker 1: Yes, Toya, we all felt it's about time for Eugene.

00:50:39
Speaker 3: Stemha okay, oh okay.

00:50:41
Speaker 1: We were like finally because we and and please stop me if I got this all wrong. When we look at this man, there's a lot of women who want your husband. And I'm pretty sure you know that, yes, and you know that I'm pretty sure.

00:50:57
Speaker 2: I don't know if you read DMS.

00:50:58
Speaker 1: I hope you don't because one of the reasons why King told the world they broke up is because girls were flirting with him in the comments, knowing that at least they thought he was a qua.

00:51:10
Speaker 2: But my point.

00:51:11
Speaker 1: Is these girls don't carry if you got a woman or not, they're gonna flur with you. There's a lot of women who want your man because they look at this very successful black man who not spiritually, but he worships the ground you walk on. You are his dream girl, and you live a very soft life to us. To us, and I'm gonna say why because this man works to the bone to make sure that Toya Bush Harris is happy. And I do think that it looks differently for you. So what we're seeing as the audience is and when I say this, I'm saying this with kindness, we look at you like this grateful bitch. Do you know how many women a man want your man, will love a Eugene to have in their life. And we do feel like you take him for granted. And when he buck up back on you, we you know, a lot of the girls got turned on because you know, they were like, hey, Eugene, but they also felt like it's about damn time she's she deserves for you to buck up on her.

00:52:25
Speaker 2: But I do. Do you get what I'm saying right? I figure, yes, But I do want to ask you this.

00:52:36
Speaker 1: Did were you ever able to move past the comments your wife made about your penis?

00:52:45
Speaker 7: She okay, I still don't think she made a comment about my penis.

00:52:50
Speaker 3: Correct?

00:52:52
Speaker 2: It was it was, it was.

00:52:55
Speaker 5: It was.

00:52:55
Speaker 7: It was a figurative thing, and it got it. They ran with it. The other ladies, yes, Quad ran with it, even ran with it, you know, but she.

00:53:05
Speaker 1: Didn't even today when they bring it up, and what I what, I cut you off. But the reason why I'm asking you that is because this season, in your frustration with her, y'all had a one on one scene and in your frustration with her, you brought it up again, like they're saying, that's about me, So that's all I guess.

00:53:22
Speaker 7: It's because it's an ongoing issue. Like even though that was several years ago that this comment was made. The same day of the party, the pool party, I'm in text messages talking about yeah, and your your husband's dick is little in mine aid, you know, Like.

00:53:38
Speaker 5: Okay, what's that got to do with you?

00:53:41
Speaker 2: Leave it?

00:53:41
Speaker 5: A fake person of the party, like that's your you leave y'all text.

00:53:44
Speaker 7: As girl text, leave me out of it now now that I meanute, like, hey, we're talking about me, you know, Like does it offend you?

00:53:51
Speaker 5: Though?

00:53:52
Speaker 2: Yes?

00:53:52
Speaker 5: Offensive?

00:53:53
Speaker 2: Like are you you? You? Are you?

00:53:57
Speaker 1: Is it hard for you to get past that because it's something think that you felt like any man, I will as a man, I.

00:54:03
Speaker 2: Just wouldn't want that to constantly be brought up.

00:54:07
Speaker 5: It's an annoyance. I'm over it, you.

00:54:11
Speaker 7: Know, but but when you keep bringing it up, it's research Like had it not ever came up again? I was like, okay, well that was some stupid stuff that like I said, she's gonna give me a dress. I haven't brought that up ever again because she ain't saying any no more. But when you keep saying something, but do you blame her for it? Do you feel like he forgave you for that?

00:54:32
Speaker 3: I feel like.

00:54:35
Speaker 4: Our counselor said, how do you deal with the stresses of your life, your show, your job, social media?

00:54:44
Speaker 3: We haven't figured it out yet.

00:54:46
Speaker 4: I think that Eugene wants to believe that he's over it. But I prayed for a man that was sensitive to me and not with there anybody else us, and so the part that I know and being with him for almost twenty years now, his feelings are hurt. He has always looked at himself as being a good guy, especially to women, and to be attacked by women is it's hard for him because you're not allowed to go off on a woman, you know what I mean, Which is what concerned me a little bit because when people say things like well it's about time, I was like, wow, what a double standard, because God forbid the world be okay with a man bucking up on a woman at any time, because the reality is in a relationship, if I'm acting a fool, you don't meet me foolishly, right, Okay, you set the tone of the way, and you wanted to go and so had Eugene met me with baby, let's go talk on the bag, you know, let me something right with you right now.

00:56:11
Speaker 1: He did try to come at you and and nestle your head.

00:56:16
Speaker 2: We came in the kitchen.

00:56:18
Speaker 5: Yeah, no, it was it was it was World War three.

00:56:23
Speaker 2: I'm talking about before I watched it, before you watched it.

00:56:26
Speaker 1: That was that an edit before before, No, no, before, I'm talking about before the escalation when you made the comment, what can you get up something along those lines, and you went in the house and he was like, made me get up, and you got up and you walked to her and you said.

00:56:41
Speaker 3: Hey, what the fuck?

00:56:44
Speaker 5: Yeah, I was, hey, what the fuck? We was? We was both on ten by then?

00:56:48
Speaker 3: Right, what the fuck?

00:56:49
Speaker 2: They showed something a little different, But just be clear, let's be clear.

00:56:55
Speaker 4: Even though that happened, okay, I still the show. Well, what happened before that? Yes, And so you may not have even seen that because you saw me not doing Proverbs thirty one.

00:57:12
Speaker 2: And that's fair.

00:57:13
Speaker 3: Period.

00:57:14
Speaker 2: No, that's fair, that's fair, that's fair, it's real.

00:57:16
Speaker 1: I actually listened because I'm not a producer in this moment. I'm a viewer, and I actually receive it. I can actually receive that as a viewer. I was so put off by the way you spoke to him that I missed anything he did and listen, maybe subconsciously, me and the viewers, you know, were like, whatever he did.

00:57:43
Speaker 3: It doesn't matter, it doesn't.

00:57:44
Speaker 2: Matter because of you. And now I understand why, oh my gosh, I have aha moment too.

00:57:50
Speaker 1: I now understand why it's very difficult for you to be yourself on the show, because you do feel like, yes, I'm giving the world my real life, but I also understand as an outspoken black woman talking an octave higher than most to her husband, I lost the audience on my side.

00:58:15
Speaker 2: I receive that, I actually receive it, and I.

00:58:18
Speaker 3: And I respect my audience.

00:58:20
Speaker 2: I do.

00:58:21
Speaker 3: I love. I love the love I get.

00:58:24
Speaker 4: You know, I look on social media at comments and I'm just looking for somebody to say you did that, you know, And I shouldn't because when they don't say it, you know.

00:58:35
Speaker 3: But I don't want to let my fans down either.

00:58:39
Speaker 4: You know. It's I I know that I was put on this show for a reason, and it wasn't to make up bad, fake storylines.

00:58:50
Speaker 3: It wasn't too you know, gloat, It wasn't to do any of that.

00:58:54
Speaker 4: It was to show a loving marriage with a real mother raising two boys, and.

00:59:08
Speaker 3: The world needed to see it.

00:59:09
Speaker 4: I've always asked before the show started to be in like the college show and like the you know, different worlds back in the day, because that's what gave me hope, and so I really truly want to represent that.

00:59:25
Speaker 3: But because I'm not scripted and.

00:59:30
Speaker 1: Now I'm back to being producer, I don't want you to represent that I want you to represent yourself right, And I think this interview is doing a great job as showing the complexities of you because you're not one note. And that's okay, a lot of people aren't.

00:59:46
Speaker 6: Right.

00:59:46
Speaker 1: You have been in a relationship with this man, Mary, excuse me, for eighteen years, right, and that's that, first of all, I should be applauded. And secondly, it's difficult to also show that on television. And the thing about you, doctor Eugene, that I've always wanted to ask you is listen, when Toya enters the room, your eyes light up right and you obviously, baby, it does. But I wanted to ask you this. I didn't I get a chance to ask you this fully in all last conversation. What do you see in Toya that you wish the world knew?

01:00:37
Speaker 5: She is a very complete woman to me.

01:00:42
Speaker 7: You know, I think she's she's attractive, she's smart, she's very caring. I think she's a wonderful friend. She's a great mother.

01:00:50
Speaker 5: You know, like I, on paper, this is who you want to marry now.

01:00:55
Speaker 7: I also, because I the way I grew up, I've got a couple of extra things that I like that some people some men don't like, you know, I like outspoken, you know, I like a little feisty, you know. I think you know, I don't like women who were just one note. I don't want her to not give me pushback if she sees crap.

01:01:15
Speaker 3: He dated somebody like that.

01:01:17
Speaker 5: Sometimes I think she can go overboard.

01:01:20
Speaker 7: But I'm okay with that because I understand the total person, you know, But I like some of this stuff.

01:01:27
Speaker 5: Now.

01:01:27
Speaker 7: Our councilor would be like, yeah, well, sometimes when when you when it's something that you don't like, how do you respond?

01:01:33
Speaker 5: He's like, Okay, yeah, that's the problem.

01:01:34
Speaker 3: You know what he's said, asked for you want to explain about it.

01:01:38
Speaker 4: Well.

01:01:38
Speaker 1: The thing that the reason why this makes sense to me is because in every relationship, this is my opinion.

01:01:45
Speaker 2: Number one.

01:01:45
Speaker 1: I want to say, as long as your partner has eighty percent.

01:01:51
Speaker 2: Of what you want, you've hit the lottery. You really you know, you really have.

01:01:56
Speaker 4: You really have because you're not trying to make you're not trying to build him up.

01:01:59
Speaker 1: But but but her, But not only that. Listen, we live in a world where we know that nothing's perfect. And I do think the problems that you two have, I believe this. It is twenty percent, but it's twenty percent compounded because it's extreme, and I'm gonna say this, and you guys have to say it. I strongly believe if you two weren't on reality television, the twenty percent of your problems would not be as high in as it is, I think, and I think that's fair to say.

01:02:31
Speaker 2: Honestly.

01:02:31
Speaker 5: The party, the pool party.

01:02:33
Speaker 7: I already told her, had we not been on television, had this just been a regular day, we were having a pool party. One we wouldn't invited people to house. Some of these people wouldn't have been invited, so so we would have already been in a more safe space to be our full selves.

01:02:52
Speaker 5: If this was not on TV, we would have had a wonderful time.

01:02:55
Speaker 7: And had she said those exact same words, well, one, I don't even think she.

01:02:58
Speaker 5: Would have said it that way, because.

01:02:59
Speaker 3: I said, come on, bleed the dudes, what are you doing?

01:03:04
Speaker 5: I would have looked at it in a totally different light.

01:03:07
Speaker 7: Not you playing because the only reason I thought she was playing me was because a couple of people who were there, you know, had it just been our friends, we you know, we we joning on each other all the time, like it wouldn't have been a thing. So you know, take it for what it is worth. But you know, I think the show does change how you react sometimes, oh for sure.

01:03:27
Speaker 1: And listen, and I want to have some clarity. It has nothing to do with being fake or acting and just has listen. This camera is in front of me and the red light is on, right, y'all have y'all know me off camera and I have a big personality, but when this is on, there's a there's a there's.

01:03:43
Speaker 2: A heightened version of me, you know what I mean.

01:03:46
Speaker 1: And we're not gonna be talking like this a Houston's eating Hawaiian state not you.

01:03:50
Speaker 2: Know what I'm saying.

01:03:51
Speaker 1: But but but you know, there's there's a that's true, but there's a there's a heightened version of it. There are people though, Toyas and I do want to have you addressed this. You know, we all know that, like he even said five minutes ago on paper, he pretty much scripted his dreamgirl and you came to life. You didn't mention earlier that God had to tell you like no, this is your guy.

01:04:17
Speaker 2: Was it hard or.

01:04:18
Speaker 1: Challenging for you to welcome that that Eugene was your guy?

01:04:26
Speaker 2: Were you looking for something different? Is he your type?

01:04:29
Speaker 3: So I, you know, people say it all the time.

01:04:31
Speaker 4: They're like, I want her vision board and whatever list that she wrote for a man. So someone told me years ago, write down all the things you need and your husband and then you an OUs girl. She needs to write it down. She tod write it down. So I wrote down my list, and she's like, don't be petty. So I never wrote on there that he had to be attractive. I thought those were little, petty, small things. I wrote that he had to be trustworthy because I had trust issues.

01:05:00
Speaker 3: I worked that. I wrote that he had to be a provider.

01:05:03
Speaker 4: And at the time I was making like fifty grand I said, so he at least make.

01:05:06
Speaker 3: A hundred, you know.

01:05:08
Speaker 4: I wrote that he had to be a good father and that he could give me twins wrote, oh, it's very specific list good And I wrote that he had to be sensitive with me and but strong to other people, you know. And I wanted him to be consistent. And so there was all these things on this list. I should I should have brought it and that's yes, it's in my bible. And so when God told me he was for me. The reason why he had to tell me is because I also made a deal.

01:05:38
Speaker 3: With God, and I think that was bad.

01:05:42
Speaker 4: I said, if I'm not married by thirty, can you take away the urge? Because I'm okay with being single. And at that time, I even wanted to write a book. It was going to be called Maximizing my Singleness, because I felt like I was tent. You know, I had went through so much growing up as a child that I just was like, I'm happy, I'm at peace. I had my space, I had a great job I was working for at the time, Pfizer ne Vartists. I was doing my thing, and I didn't want to look like I had missed something. And honestly, coming from Detroit, I was not in a hurry.

01:06:28
Speaker 2: To get married anyway.

01:06:29
Speaker 3: I was like, nobody's happy. There wasn't any you know, It's crazy.

01:06:33
Speaker 4: How in Atlanta we have so many married couples that we hang out with in Detroit?

01:06:38
Speaker 3: Do you know one that we can hang out with in Detroit?

01:06:43
Speaker 6: Right?

01:06:44
Speaker 3: Like, it's very difficult, And I just.

01:06:48
Speaker 4: Oh, you cousin, Tony, My god, I would hang out with them and your friend and the guy that you to schools, so we know.

01:06:57
Speaker 1: Too, But that wasn't something you saw.

01:07:02
Speaker 4: Marriage was not a thing that I was excited about doing. I could care less about it at that time. And so when he came around, Eugene was adamant. He was like, I'm gonna get this girl, and he was. He did everything, and I did everything to chase him away.

01:07:15
Speaker 2: Were you not attracted to him when first mat Yeah, I was.

01:07:18
Speaker 3: Tracked, Yeah, but I wasn't having sex with him.

01:07:20
Speaker 4: I was like, I literally had told him at that time. I had went through this whole process of changing toy. I wasn't drinking, I wasn't I was saved. I wasn't having sex right away, so I was like, I'm not going to rush into that with you.

01:07:32
Speaker 3: I just wanted to get to know you.

01:07:34
Speaker 4: And it wasn't until somebody broken my car and took my computer, and at the time, I was going back to school for my masters, and he was like, I'm gonna give you the key to my house and you can use my computer anytime.

01:07:51
Speaker 2: Baby.

01:07:52
Speaker 4: He did every thing right, honey, game, honey, that game right now?

01:08:00
Speaker 1: That No, the thing is this, I hope you realize, Oh absolutely, And I'm going to disagree with you. I think it's a beautiful thing that you made a deal with God. Because I made a deal with God about something and it came true. I know what it feels like to say, if it's not meant for me, give me something else. And even career wise, I remember wanting this life that I live right now so badly that I was like, you know, because I thought it'd be something a twenty two child, you know, Okay, And I'm like, God, I'm twenty two and I'm not what I need to be. And I said, I have this urge and if it's not meant to be taken away from me, like just take it away.

01:08:45
Speaker 2: I'll do whatever you want me to do. Right. So the fact that.

01:08:49
Speaker 1: God brought you Eugene and thirty at thirty, that's my point.

01:08:54
Speaker 2: At thirty and God knew your stubborn self was yes, was.

01:08:58
Speaker 3: Yes, it's been thirty one. How to say, oh, you're not from me?

01:09:01
Speaker 2: But you know, God, I hope you know this. That robbery was God ordained.

01:09:10
Speaker 1: Yes, because it took that moment for you to realize I could be missing something so great.

01:09:17
Speaker 3: Yes that.

01:09:19
Speaker 1: I'm too busy trying to you know, make sure that everything's whatever, checking the box.

01:09:24
Speaker 2: But my point in saying all of that to you is this, eighteen.

01:09:28
Speaker 1: Years later, he is still that guy that will give you the key to many houses. Yes, to make sure that you have something to look.

01:09:37
Speaker 3: At and tell me you figured out. I'm coming with you. Yes, what vacation are we going on? Toya? I want to go wherever you want to go?

01:09:43
Speaker 2: Yeah?

01:09:44
Speaker 3: You know what car? You need, toy, you go get it.

01:09:46
Speaker 4: You know, I'm good, the boys good. What they need, you can handle it. I'm not worried about the house because you got it.

01:09:54
Speaker 3: That's him. Yeah.

01:09:56
Speaker 4: So I recognize that I have a very good blessing and Eugene, and I'm grateful for that, you know. And that's the only reason why I have such a conviction when i'm when I do wrong by him, you know, because God give it, but he can take away, you know. And I know that's not what he wants, you know. And I know that sometimes I can be self destructive, you know, and I receive that.

01:10:33
Speaker 2: And.

01:10:35
Speaker 3: I'm trying not to be that way at fifty.

01:10:37
Speaker 4: Damn, I'm about to be fifty, you know, girl, Like I can't keep doing that, you know, there's no chaos here as the other people like to say, you know, but the people that will know me would love to call it that. The people that know and love us will say things like someone said, this is the couple I would love to be. You know, I need a man that's going to uplift and support and a woman that he feels so safe that he doesn't even blink twice. I just.

01:11:11
Speaker 3: I'm just a work in progress.

01:11:13
Speaker 1: And that's fair. But to me, that's the beauty of life, right is. I don't want to live a life where I'm stagnant because I know everything.

01:11:23
Speaker 2: You know what I mean, I receive.

01:11:26
Speaker 1: God knows that some things be like God, I didn't need that lesson, but I got you, bro. But my point is you should be honored that Number one, you get to live a life where you're constantly learning and growing.

01:11:38
Speaker 2: Yes, and you too are soulmates. You guys really are. You guys really are.

01:11:44
Speaker 1: And I don't want anything to disrupt this union that is God ordained. Because there's people talk about the Sierra prayer, but we all want the toilet prayer.

01:11:56
Speaker 2: And we want the Eugene sketch.

01:11:58
Speaker 1: Okay, okay, So my last question is this.

01:12:03
Speaker 2: When it comes to marriage.

01:12:07
Speaker 1: You know, there's tons of people doctor Eugene Atoya who are disconnected. And you know there's people, I'm sure you know tons of them who use the D word divorce. You know, we've seen and I tell the world this all the time. My favorite seeing in the history of this show is when all of y'all rallied behind some moan and see cell to say, no, we're gonna fix this. But what advice do you give couples who feel like we've been together for X amount of years and you know, do we throw in the towel?

01:12:39
Speaker 7: I think you just have to every day choose your partner. I mean there's gonna be hard days. I mean that's just the reality of it. Like it would be I guess some utopia if we never had an argument, But that's just not realistic.

01:12:53
Speaker 5: You know, like even best of friends get in arguments.

01:12:56
Speaker 7: You know, So if you're gonna be with somebody for the long term, it's gonna be out external factors that come in.

01:13:01
Speaker 5: It's going to mess you all up.

01:13:02
Speaker 7: It's going to be internal stuff, mess you up, your past, all kinds of stuff. But as long as you each day choose, like I'm choosing her, you know, and then you work through those issues like you can.

01:13:14
Speaker 5: You know, you just got to keep choosing, you know.

01:13:17
Speaker 4: I think for me, the first question I would ask is do you still love each other?

01:13:24
Speaker 5: Not like them, love right?

01:13:26
Speaker 4: And you know, because if you are still in love with someone, then you can take the next step, which is learning to respect that person again. And I think sometimes when we get in the relationships, we get so comfortable with each other that we don't even realize that we're disrespecting each other and that.

01:13:48
Speaker 2: We're not.

01:13:50
Speaker 4: Uplifting each other and the way we need or or I'm not speaking to the man I need them to be as I'm speaking to that other person that I'm dealing without that outside.

01:14:00
Speaker 7: Can I interject one thing, this is the protector of me, like protecting my wife. I just hate this notion that Toy is just doing something to Eugene all the time. Like I didn't comment earlier, it was like, well, good thing he stood up for himself this time. Like, first of all, do I not push back on a lot of stuff, like you have to tell the world I'm not There are days I am not the easiest person to get along with. I know that but some of my some of my pushing buttons isn't so much, uh in an aggressive way. Sometimes it's not hearing her, I know, not hearing her. You have saped the door before you do.

01:14:45
Speaker 3: Yes, he will yell throughout the house.

01:14:49
Speaker 8: Yes, yes, in my opinion, Yeah, I parents argue, gets going, what's your Yeah, we're both fire science.

01:15:03
Speaker 6: Yes.

01:15:03
Speaker 4: And so once he is lit, Eugene, I'm like, stop texting me.

01:15:08
Speaker 7: I'm going to if I think I've been wrong, I'm going to keep explaining and defending where I'm right. Yes, yes, over and so I get it, you know, but nobody say, God.

01:15:19
Speaker 3: Forbid me tell this doctor.

01:15:23
Speaker 4: You know he's wrong in some way when every day he goes to work and he's right.

01:15:29
Speaker 5: Yeah, no, that's not true. That's okay, you can said that.

01:15:31
Speaker 2: Well I was right. I think I think.

01:15:34
Speaker 1: I think every day he goes to work, he he.

01:15:39
Speaker 2: He's on a mission to get the answer.

01:15:40
Speaker 3: Yeah.

01:15:41
Speaker 4: And the reality is this, So this is the part he's really leaving out and I really want And I talked to Carlos about it, and he said, well, can can you talk about that? And I said, yes, there there talk about pellas.

01:16:00
Speaker 3: And be honest, like, which part.

01:16:03
Speaker 5: How men are you know you're about to say.

01:16:07
Speaker 3: Right, because then you know the word I'm going to use.

01:16:10
Speaker 5: I think men and women.

01:16:13
Speaker 7: Once you hit about thirty five forty are testosterone deficient. Testosterone Actually a lot of people think testosterone is this aggressive hormone. It actually makes people nicer, it calms people down, and I think a lot of I think the divorce rate in this country, you know, probably is so high in people's late forties early fifties, is because you have hormone deficiencies that you don't realize, and you're thinking that every problem is your spouse. They're thinking every problem is you, and y'all go you separate. I think I am a much happier person when my testosterone level is appropriate, and.

01:16:51
Speaker 3: So from your own experience.

01:16:54
Speaker 4: He he didn't know that he had a hormone and back balance. I think I started realizing that when we had this one scene a couple of seasons ago and I asked him, how can.

01:17:08
Speaker 3: We make you happy? What are your hobbies?

01:17:09
Speaker 4: And he was like, I don't know, I don't And he really started realizing that he was just there like he wasn't his happy, go lucky fun self anymore.

01:17:23
Speaker 3: He had no energy to do anything. And then when.

01:17:27
Speaker 4: He discovered this whole testosterone imbalance and finally went to the doctor, they started trying different things on him like they would do with a woman who's going through mentalpause. And it's some imbalances that happened, just like with KWAHD And Kane said, well she was getting a shot. Your hormones be raging, and so I was dealing with a lot of hormones with my husband. That all of that, and so we for years when people were like, well she doesn't want to be married, it was because I couldn't understand who this person was, you know, I was like, does he.

01:18:06
Speaker 2: Want to be married?

01:18:07
Speaker 4: Like we both were like how do we fix this?

01:18:10
Speaker 3: Like what's wrong?

01:18:12
Speaker 4: And so now that my husband has this amazing clinic Recharged Wellness, he is literally educating men and helping them to get to that place. Because he even said that he thinks that his parents would have still been in a happy place had his father known, you know, and like I said, I don't want to tell your story.

01:18:30
Speaker 1: No, that's big, and that's that's part of your wellness. So how can people reach out to you to gain information and stuff?

01:18:40
Speaker 2: From that.

01:18:40
Speaker 5: So if you go to www.

01:18:41
Speaker 7: Dot Recharge Wellness Health, you can have a lot of information there. That's where you can make appointments. I'm a concierge service, so I only take a certain amount of people. But if you make an appointment, there would be like a thirty minute time slot where we get on the phone and we figure out what we need to do.

01:19:00
Speaker 3: I mean, look at how different is his weight loss is down?

01:19:04
Speaker 2: You know it's between him and Steve.

01:19:09
Speaker 3: No competition, my man, don't have to put on that's right here.

01:19:15
Speaker 1: No, we love you, Jane. Listen, I will say this. I want to listen. You know you're my sister in real life.

01:19:19
Speaker 2: I want to thank you for your brunt ability.

01:19:22
Speaker 1: You know, I really, I really do, I really do, because I know it's been tough for you and and like you said, we've had conversations off off camp on camera, but you know, in our real life.

01:19:34
Speaker 2: And I was so happy to get the two of you.

01:19:36
Speaker 4: Because I was scared, you know, I was like, oh, the world to judge me anymore?

01:19:40
Speaker 2: Id you Carlos? And I said, come on my podcast, we'll talk about it.

01:19:44
Speaker 1: Because listen, I know you're not one no, but I also know the power of this medium, which is the podcast, to be able to just have you, you know, just speak on things that you know the world is going to be able to view. And I know that when it comes to the two of you, you two are meant to be together. And all couples go through their stuff, but a lot of them aren't on TV broadcasting it. And as somebody who produces television and works on shows about love and marriage pun intended back March seventh, what I will say is you two are the epitome of black excellence and black couple goals as well.

01:20:24
Speaker 2: And I want to applaud the two of.

01:20:27
