Now We've had a lot more turnover since then. You obviously have the Steelers situation, but Kevin Stefanski might end up with the Falcons, but John Harball is going to the New York Football Giants. Now you're probably saying, well, wait a minute. He could get forty million dollars going to the Jets. He could and then be a backup quarterback.

And look at all the decisions that have been made recently in drafts where you're drafting somebody who had a really good year and that's all they played. You got to get at least thirty starts. Dante Moore goes back to Oregon and you'll get paid well, get compensated. And yes, is he passing up being the number two quarterback in the draft. Probably so. And when he comes out the following year, maybe he's a late first round pick, but he might be going to a better team and having more reps in college. I think it's it's not being short sighted, and being short sighted would be I'm just going to go into the NFL at age twenty and go to the Jets.

Yeah, I'm not surprised at that that would be the going rate. I think that those numbers were out there that he wanted twenty million, He wanted ten million for his staff, he wanted total control. But the reports i'm seeing they're going to keep Joe Shane the general manager, that John Harball met with Shane and had a nice meeting with him as his general manager. I think Mike Tomlin realized that maybe he had taken this team as far as he could take them. Then there's this question to Art Rooney the Second about was there a possibility of Tomlin coming back?

Speaker 2: Yeah, I truly believe Mike Tomlin realized that it was time to go, and him and John Harball about the same timeline. The you know, Baltimore Ravens approach was far different. They were firing John Harbaugh. The Steelers now have to replace Mike Tomlin because Mike Tomlin decided that he didn't want to coach there anymore. The betting lines for this weekend, the Bills are getting one and a half at Denver the forty nine Ers. Yesterday they were getting seven and a half. Now they're getting seven in Seattle, Texan's getting three in New England, and the Rams are giving three and a half against the Bears. National Title game hasn't changed. Did change yesterday from seven and a half to eight and a half for Miami against Indiana and for under forty seven and a half this according to DraftKings. I also had the number one pick odds for the NFL, Fernando Mendoza is minus eight thousand, Trinidad Shambleiss is second at plus three thousand, and then Ruben Bain Junior the third at plus six thousand. Fernando Mendoza and the Raiders are on the clock for the NFL Draft that will be in Pittsburgh. We will be there for that as well. Yeah, these other openings, I do credit the Giants. They knew who they wanted. My source said when he was fired, immediately sent me a note and saying he'll be number one on the Giants list. Now, the Giants interviewed him, and then he went to Atlanta and then came back and interviewed again, and I think the Giants realized we're not going to let him out of the building, not without you know, cementing him as our next head coach. Now, I'll go back to what I said to you. My source said, it's either the Falcons or the Giants for on Harball. He liked what he saw with the Falcons from what I'm told, But was he using the Falcons as maybe a negotiating ploy to get a better deal with the Giant. I don't know that, but I was told it was either going to be Atlanta or is going to be the New York Giants. Now you got Kevin Stefanski out there. I have not heard anything after that press conference yesterday about Mike Tomlin may be interested in any of these other coaching jobs. Obviously, the Ravens job is a great job because that's where you go in and you have to win right now. You're expected to win right now. The Steelers, I know they don't like saying rebuilding, but they're not reloading. It certainly feels like a rebuild, and I would think anything would be on the table, and that is you're going to TJ Watt, Jalen Ramsey.

Speaker 2: They were aggressive, and you know, I thought at the beginning of the year that this would be the last year for Tomlin, in the last year for Aaron Rodgers. It may not be the last year for Rodgers playing, but it's the last year for him in Pittsburgh. The question is does somebody want to sign him? And even ownership yesterday said that Aaron Rodgers that was Mike Tomlin's decision to bring him in. So that sounds like whoever is coming in, we're moving on from Aaron Rodgers, and they need to because you can't stay in that nine and eight area maybe ten and seven. I mean, it's nice to be there, but you're just kind of you're in it, but you're not. It's like you're in the pool, but you're not in the deep end. You're not threatening, and that can be no man's lamb. Hey we got the playoffs. How'd you do all? We lost in the first round. Again, it's can we get bad enough to get better than just we got into the playoffs? Now we're threatening and that'll be the key for the Steelers moving forward. And I wonder, yes they've gone defense as their head coaches with Chuck Noll, Bill Kauer, Mike Tomlin, do they evolve into today's NFL because Mike Tomlin's nineteen years ago, the league has changed. You got to have an offensive mind there Now maybe you get a great offensive coordinator, but if your head coach is offensive leaning, that's sort of the trend that's going on now. And the question is, and from what I was told, the Steelers were monitoring what was going on in Green Bay with Matt laflor. If Matt Lafleor was let go, or they're not going to keep him in the building, give him a contract extension. The Steelers thought that they would be in the mix with Matt Lafloor. Ravens may have thought the same thing as well. So these coaches are We're in positions where people would covet those jobs, and then you pack up two guys who are Hall of famers and they now you have coaching vacancies, especially with Baltimore. But that one's tricky because you've got to walk in. You got to embrace Lamar Jackson. You got to figure that out. And you've got a roster that's ready to win in a division that is suspect right now. Any other pole questions they are seating. Yeah, yeah, we got a couple more questions here. I'll give you early results. I would rather be a starter at Nebraska or a backup at Oregon. Seventy five percent would rather start at Nebraska. Let's go in Nebraska. Yes, of course you would deal with disrespect. Yes, yes, I'm dealing with that crap.

But the transfer portal, you know, as Danny Hurley was telling us during the tournament, he now you're navigating the transfer portal who's coming in and who's leaving from your team, and you're in the postseason. Didn't anybody think that that might be kind of conflicting, you know, even with when coaches can leave and the transfer portal with college football and the playoffs, Can we do sixteen teams? Know we're gonna do twenty four. No, we're not gonna do twenty four. Let's do twelve, all right, Like once again, you're just trying to get little victories here. That's what you want, common sense. After the national title game, then you can go in the transfer portom How about you can only transfer once without penalty. How about that. I love the fact that you have players who can go. I'm not going to play here, I can go and transfer and play there right away. Keep in mind, you used to have to sit out a year, and if you transferred within your conference you had to sit out two years. Now you have too much freedom with it. In my opinion, Nil pay them whatever you want to pay them. You know you have a value, and you know it's an open marketplace. But as far as transferring, there's a quarterback who I think is going to be on his sixth team in six years. You shouldn't have that, Like, you have to have some kind of regulations, rules in place, common sense in place of doing you know all of this. So they're going to change the transfer portal. Maybe they figure out how you can keep a coach in the playoffs before the transfer portal. And I'll go back and say what I've said many times on this show. You're transferring, You're all over the place. I haven't heard one player be academically ineligible through all of this, So I don't even know if you're going to school. I don't know if it matters anymore. And if it doesn't, then great, Just tell us that's all right. I mean, whatever your rules are. I thought college was for college, but.

When brock Perty targets George Kittle this season, regular season, in playoffs, rock Perty completes over eighty percent of his passes. He averages nine over nine yards per attempt. He has five touchdowns and zero interceptions. His passer rating is one thirty eight. When brock Perty targets everyone else, he completes just under seventy percent of his passes. The average yards per attemp is seven point eight. He threw seventeen touchdowns twelve interceptions, passer rating of ninety five. All right, we'll get phone calls coming up. The interesting situation yesterday with Dante Moore going back to Oregon. Dylan Ryola was at Nebraska, highly coveted quarterback going to Nebraska. So now he's gonna maybe red shirt at Oregon, maybe he plays two years. I don't know if he did anything at Nebraska to really distinguish himself that Oh my gosh, look at that now, Dante Moore. I got to see a couple of full games this year and he did show promise. But you know, you kind of had that choppy career at UCLA. You go to Oregon, and that Oregon offense can make a lot of people look a lot better than maybe what they really are. I want to see what he does now when defenses get a year a season of tape on him, and now what does he do against that competition? He needs more starts and maybe turns out to be the number one pick next year, although he's going to be in a class with Arch Manning as well. But I thought it was a very smart decision. Do not take the quick money and go to the Jets, Because if you go to the Jets and you're a young kid, not even twenty one, and you're thrown into that mess and it is a mess, then I wonder what, just like Sam Darnold, you know, these quarterbacks who go there all of a sudden and look, Zach Wilson should never have been taken where he was taken. He played one good season and all of a sudden everybody fell in love with his pro day.

Remember when Dion joined us in New Orleans, he started talking about Shador and you know, hey, there's teams I don't want him to go to. And you know, we're thinking, is he going to be a top five pick overall? And then all of a sudden he was not going to be a top five top five round maybe, But we fall in love, or we're told to fall in love. And there's certain people we have on the show, or Loopsky, Chris Simms, right, I trust them. Chris Simms is really good at that. What do you see? What do you not see? I remember or Lobsky telling me about Will Levis. He said, I don't like his arm motion, like little things that we don't see. By the way, we got to be careful when we, uh, you know, speak up about our football knowledge. This happened at a press conference with the Denver Broncos where Sean Payton was well talking to a reporter.

So he's got a two year kind of grace period, honeymoon period, and maybe, you know, if the Eagles start to slip a little bit more, maybe Washington isn't as good, Dallas will be Dallas. You got the fifth pick in the draft. Maybe you got a chance to kind of show people what you can do. Because I think the success of the Ravens felt like it was attached to Lamar Jackson. The failure of the Ravens was attached to John Harbaugh. Now with the Giants, you know, he's probably gonna have total autonomy here and he's going to be able to pick his staff and maybe not have it solely based on I'm relying on one player, and if that guy plays well, we're going to be in the playoffs.

See if you can do it on your own. You're with a great organization in the Ravens, always in playoff contention, super Bowl MVP. Now you go to the Giants, you know, a one storied franchise. Now you breathe some life into it. They they wanted you, They really wanted you. There was no doubt they were not going to you take another job.
