Yo, go be beer. It's the internet. You're busy. Let's do
this for June twenty first, twenty twenty four, the next hour or so,
let me help you sort through the world of gaming on Game Mess Mornings
Live with me Jeff Grub. Today's Shadow of the urg Tree is kicking everyone's
ass. But the toughest thing to deal with today is, of course,
that Bubbsy is back. But first please join me in welcoming today's co host,
the Game Mess Mornings. It's to more who's saying, everybody, damn,
how are you doing? You know, Grub, I'm really happy that
you got your boy, Bubbsy. By god, I don't need this.
I'm very, very excited now that now that you know what you will punish
for many many years with this Metroid Prime nonsense. And you know what it
feels like, cosmic like balancing that your best friend Bubzy is back. I
am realized see that there's nothing I could do that I should just embrace it,
because you know, you can't stop the ball. You have to like
let it run past. You have to like engage with that energy and either
let it run away from you or or step aside and embrace it. I
am going to have to be like, Okay, yeah, sure, I'm
I could be a Bobbsy guy. But then why didn't they call out to
me? Why didn't they reach out to me and say, hey, Jeff
Grubb, you are the last person on earth to beat Bubbsy three D.
We need your help. They didn't do that. Hey Jeff Grubb, can
you leak this Bubbzy news for us? Yeah? Why did they do that?
Yeah? That would have been Bubbzy was the one like serious character Masacot
game where like I remember being young and my parents were like, you want
this one? And I was like, I'm right, yeah, Like somehow
like that's how it went though? Is everyone even parents were like is this
is this the next Mario? Is this is this important? And I don't
know how that happened. It was kind of weird that they were able to
capture bobb Z. Is is just horrifically ugly likes it looks like a It
looks like a cat that is also like a crackhead. Yeah, same cat.
Yeah. I think the only redeeming factor is Bubzy is wearing that T
shirt with the solid exclamation mark on it. Right, that's a style it's
a good look what are you doing here, Bubzy? But what was it
like seven games? And that there is six six? I think that is?
Yeah, yeah, because there's like the Game Boy games and stuff.
Yeah, there's so that's that sounds about right. Bobbz three D came out
in nineteen ninety six, and then that four was like trapped in the Phantom
Zone until twenty seventeen. Crazy, and that's because yeah, they didn't they
had like, okay, they did have like some mobile games after that,
right was it there? Maybe there was another game that wasn't a mobile game
out of that. Isn't that the one that had the verbosity slider? So
these they must be all the old games. So it was Bubbzy in clause
in Closing Counters of the Third Kind, right, ninety three, Bubbzy two,
Bubbzy in Fractured Fairy Fairy Tales Furry Tales, of course, and then
Bubbzy three D that was ninety ninety six, and then it is twenty seventeen
bob Zy the Woolies strike back where they just gave up on trying to make
puns. Yeah we got none. We're plumb out. That's never made a
game. So it's so long. Yeah, the Woolies one was on PlayStation
four as well, and Pause on Fire was twenty nineteen that was also on
PlayStation four. No one lists the mobile one. That okay, that one.
I think that one is technically the mobile one. Basically it's an auto
runner, I think. So that's why I in a mobile game. Yeah
yeah, whatever. Well, UFO Interactive even doing these days other than Bobbz,
I don't know. They just really a series of games called Freddie Fish.
Ready Fish isn't Wasn't that like an old like FMV game? Maybe I'm
making this? Oh this looks like hot hell? Yeah, what is this?
No child is enjoying this. This looks like Flounder if he was a
sex offender, you know, Freddy Fish. These days, it's it's completely
useless because the kids are all about that funk Co Fusion. They just love
that funk Co Fusion game. That's all they need, that's all they want.
Tam, I know you've been talking about it. Don't try bubby me
with this. I gotta do something. I gotta defend myself. Yeah,
equal measure. Well, we'll talk about Bubbsy more here in a second.
But you know, we will end the news here where it's like Elder Rings
tough for a lot of people. Damn, I'm worried now. So I'm
gonna ask you. Now, you've played a lot of Elder Ring. I
think I was looking at my Steam thing when I was getting ready to play
it and I haven't started yet, I'll do it today, uh, And
looked like you had played about sixty hours according to Steam, which who knows
how that tracks that. I'm not like super high level. I'm like,
I beat the game. I was high enough level to do that pretty comfortably,
but I haven't continued to play and be like, oh, well now
I'm just gonna go do New Game Plus nine or whatever. I'm good.
Still right, you shouldn't be doing you don't. It's not ideal to do
New Game Plus. Just a single run is probably better because once you go
into New Game Plus, the games like, oh this guy wants it harder,
okay, and so it's gonna make it harder. But so you should
be okay because the DLC uses a separate leveling and power scaling system called a
shadow own Blessings. So as long as you go into the game ready to
do some exploration, and discover those and get those fragments. You should be
okay, okay, and I will have if your if your base stats are
lower, you will have more of a you'll be more fragile in the Land
of Shadows. So enemies are gonna enemy is gonna wipe you out very quickly,
regardless. It's just the lower your stats, the more likely that it
is just going to happen for us. However, because they're harder enemies,
they give out more runes, and because they give up more rooms, you'll
be able to level up your base stats a bit quick. That makes sense,
okay, And and I'm down with that. I'm okay with that.
It's just you'll be fun. Yeah, there is a pathway for me to
succeed in this game style. Oh yes, yes, it's very very doable.
Okay, that's that's a little bit of relief. I wasn't too worried.
I figured they want people to play this game that they just made,
so like, including even shrucks like me. So I was I'm sure they
haven't accounted for that wit. People seem to like it though, yeah,
people seeing it's hard like people will already. Yes, Yeah, that's there's
a lot of stuff on the on the reddit and yes, and uh,
that's the last story here is Ethan gotch kataka kind of Okay, we'll come
back. We will come back, yes, sor right, that'll be how
we cap things off. So let's get into the show and explain what we
do here most weekdays, I, Jeff Greb, will help piece your gaming
life back together. That includes breaking news and maybe even some of our own
original reporting. For all these topics, I'll get the input of a bona
fide expert who will make me look smart. If you were watching live on
twitch welcome. You can always listen to the show later on podcast feeds by
searching for Game Mess Mornings, or find the RSS on giant bomb dot com.
You could also catch the show later with chapters and timestamps on YouTube.
Hello YouTube. All right, we have a lot to get into, so
let's start the Morning Mess with Xboxhead implies Tango GameWorks closure may have been due
to a change of leadership. This is from Chris Scullion at PGC, the
head of Xbox Game Studios. Is implied that Tango GameWorks was closed down to
due to a change in creative leadership at the Studio. In an interview on
Variety's Strictly Business podcast, Matt Booty was specifically asked about the close of Tango
and why it took place. Although he didn't name anyone specifically, Booty implied
that the change of leadership and staff at Tango may have been one of the
reasons for the closure, suggesting that while Hi Fi Rush was a success,
there was no guarantee the remaining setup would have delivered similar success in the future.
I won't get into the real nitty gritty details of what went into the
discussion, mostly out of respect for the people there, Booty said, just
we want to hear about it. I'm sure that people that you're trying to
respect will be like, no, we want to hear about this. We
want to hear what do you mean? What do you mean by that?
What do you mean by that? Just because there was a lot of work
that went into delivering higher High Fi Rush, which was a great game and
did well for us, I think the thing to be considered to be considered
is that for us, it's as much a forward looking situation as much as
is looking back at one certain game. There are a lot of things that
go into the success for a game. What leadership do you have? What
creative leadership do you have? Is the team the same team that shipped something
successful previously? Basically saying, as far as I can read, it shouldn't
Jubakami left, so we need to shut the studio down, which I'm I
have trouble buying, tim because Shinjibakami has made his intentions clear for a long
time, which is I started the studio to mentor a new group of people
to make games. And that is literally what Hi Fi Rush was him stepping
back and letting other people take the leadership on that and make a game to
prove that the studio is viable even without him. And so here we are
and it gets closed down when Mike, I'm not gonna believe the idea that
Microsoft didn't know that, like they were like unaware that Shinjibakami was like building
the studio to eventually maybe move on or put other people in charge. Of
course, they knew that they were having conversations. They're in charge, they
owned that studio, they knew what was going down. So the fact that
theydn't think things played out exactly that way, well, now we got to
shut it down. I just I'm not buying that, Tam. I don't
know about you. Uh, I mean, I wouldn't say I buy it,
But playing Devil's ad of a police advocate to it, there's there is
a scenario where like them knowing that and then making the decision to you know,
acquire studio and like let function as it is still kind of seems feasible
because if you remember, like Tango, game Works became part of you know,
that team or crew at a time when they needed some w's in terms
of like, you know, these are studios that we have that are like
exciting, and this is a you know, Japanese led studio, which was
something that it was bethesa Is acquired them or was it? Yeah, straight
up aquit them take a Game Works. Yeah, I think I think that
helped. Shouldn't you become a study studios? How I remember coming down?
Yeah? Yeah exactly. I think in terms of like Microsoft's involvement in it,
I think they probably could have looked at it and been like, we
know, he's leaving, he's a big name, this is resident evil man.
We'll just ride it out until he's ready to leave, and then we'll
figure out what to do with it. Maybe we'll just shut the studio down
because it's doesn't help for sure. Yeah, I mean, like I feel
like not to diminish. What his intentions were and what their intentions were could
be two separate tracks. Like from mccamie. He could have been thinking,
I'm gonna nurtious talent, I'm want to make this studio better, and I'm
gonna bounce and I will leave it knowing that the people that I've like mentored
will do amazing things. Meanwhile, Microsoft could be like, we're gonna wait
for him. We're gonna milk his like star power as long as possible.
We'll try and get a couple of games out of him. We'll attach him
to as many projects as possible to say like this is a Shinji mccamie joint.
At the moment he's gone, we'll shut the shit down. Like there's
a very real possibility something like that could have happened. Because corporation's gonna corporate
capitalism gonna capitulate. You know, I think I I'll say this that if
shin Jibukami was still there, You're yes, they probably it probably would still
be open that is probably that is probably true. That is fair. I
can see that. I think from some mccamis side, I think he was
successful, Like he he the thing he wanted to do happened to various degrees.
Like on the one hand, you have you know the crew that worked
on High Fi Rush. That's exactly what they wanted, right, Like they
wanted a team of people to be able to make something new and exciting,
and that's what they did. Same for even within Too, right, that
was a different like director and stuff like that. And also I Kumi Nakamura
came from that studio in a obviously a Kumi was making games before that,
but that was where where I became aware. Yes, yeah, that's people.
So like from his perspective, he did the He set out to achieve
an objective and he achieved that objective. So that's it sucks that like they
were like a bit, it's a shame that that studio basically function until he
was ready to leave. Yeah, and it's it's the kind of thing Taan
Ward's like, this is a lot of this comes down to interpretation, comes
down to how you want to view things, where uh, yeah, sure
the studio probably would still be open if Shinjin Commy was still there and you
know, and he left, and he seems to he left on his own
terms. As you stated. He accomplished what he set out to accomplish,
and the studio was seemed to be in a good place by all accounts.
But it's like, I think Microsoft is looking at it this way. I
think the real foundational reason the studio is no longer open is because it wasn't
making enough money. I know that they keep saying that the game did well.
I know they do say that publicly, but if the studio was making
more money, it would definitely still be open. Now they probably saw a
thing where it's like, well, it made enough money. Since Shinchmin Comedy's
there, and we want to get his next game, we want to reinvest
in him and what he's doing next. And then once he's gone, the
sort of algorithm changes there, the equation changes, and now it's like,
oh, these numbers don't look quite as good when we're like sort of counting
on on some people that I guess they consider unproven, although again, it
felt like they had just proven themselves with Ti Fi Rush. So that's that's
where I'm saying. When where I don't buy because it's like they should have
known it should be okay with this from the beginning. But but whatever,
the studio probably wasn't make enough money. When I have conversations with people,
that's what it always gets told to me. And then Shinjum coming leaves,
and that's like a recipe for Okay, let's just pull the plug on this
thing and that'll save us some money when we're also trying to save money across
the board. The other thing is like we're in an age where making games
in the middle tier but also making franchises. An IP that don't like reach
blockbuster levels is not as viable as it used to be. Like the Evil
Within as good as those that first game was, and you know the second
one is liked even more. Like that's still not an IP that has a
lot of weight for them, Like it's a very disposable ipe, sadly,
and I feel like if you're a new studio, the thing that gets you
some lifetime is making an IP that people really really are into and is like
moving units and making revenue. I wouldn't be surprised, sadly if a lot
of these, you know, studios that have popped up since then, are
being acquired by you know, various teams, you know, publishers and major
companies that are about to put out their new ips. This is they they're
very aware of the fact that they need to this ipon needs to hit and
be huge, otherwise they're probably not looking going to be in a good spot.
Like no one gets a chance to very few studios get a chance to
like make something it does okay, and then they do it again and it
does okay, and then they're like given more chances to do that. There's
not enough. That's not the industry we're in anymore. Like it's this is
not an exploratory phase for the industry. This is a money grabbing like we
need to make money quickly, and we need to make a lot of money
proven that we can mine for money because we know it's already there. We're
not going to build something new. Yeah, Like I remember that like the
earlier day. See, I think like the Xbox three sixty was probably the
last generation where it felt like the industry was exploratory, as I like to
call it, Like they were just trying stuff and seeing what's stuck, and
it was like this is cool. This is cool, that's not how it
isn't And part of that is dictated by the cost of making games, or
cost of marketing games, and the requirements of like embedding yourself into the lives
of people who play games. The thing now is you don't make a mid
tier game that sells okay and it's generally liked. You need to make a
massive game that takes over people's lives and is a constant source of revenue.
That's what people want. And very few games and studios that aren't able to
do that au thriving unless they're under the banner of a company that is willing
to let them do that. And not a lot of the Naughty Dog gets
that insomniacule get that Tango game works again. No, Nope, you're right,
and it's you know, and if that's the stuff you're interested in,
it's like you kind of we're at a point where I felt this way in
the last year, Tien and beyond that. Really it's like I thought,
if that is what I crave, that kind of explore tory game development style.
It's happening on the indie side of things. Obviously, we've talked about
a million times, and you know, and didn't intend occasionally gets weird.
Uh, maybe not as weird as they once got on like the DS and
the Three DS, but they still get pretty weird sometimes. But it's like,
you know, Sody shut down Japan studios, right, they just straight
up shut down Japan studios and uh and then like they weren't like they're like,
oh, there's a chance to do weird stuff on VR. They shut
down London studios that was doing their their VR stuff. It's like they're just
not taking those risks anymore. I I would be surprised if they ever give
a ship about VR over again. Like they're not mentioning that ship again?
Like that did that? Did that thing officially announced? The connected to PC
thing? He got it? Yes, it's announced. That is people are
like I've seen people be like, this is exciting, it's gonna you know,
revit nose that. That is basically them trying to drop in the kid
off at the other house and being like, see you, I gotta get
sub scritching out. So we're gonna you're gonna go get some cigarettes. I'll
be back in a few minutes. Yep, this is what's happening. Would
that be off thing without a doubt. Yep. Alright, let's see here.
Let's do this next story, which is the Limited Run Games announcement of
over twenty new physical releases as part of LRG three twenty twenty four. This
is from Sal Ramano at Kamatsu. Limited Run Games announced over twenty new titles
that will receive physical releases as part of its LRG twenty twenty four showcase,
including Beyond Good and Evil twentieth Anniversary Edition, Lollipop, Chainsaw, RePOP,
Penny's Big Breakaway, and more. There is a whole list of stuff that
they announced. I'll probably just break out a few of these things, but
I don't know at the very least, Tam, where are you at with
boutique heart of like physical games sales these days? Are you ever picking up
anything like this? I know, Like I think it's is it Limited Run
that is doing what you gonna call it? Alan Wake two? Yeah?
I believe so. I think that's right. I think like a lot of
this really eyes on nostalgia. Like I there's certain games that in this list
that I'm like, okay that I would think about that like Hitman, Blood
Money Reprisal maybe and That's pretty much it on this list if I'm honest,
like, yeah, yeah, I mean they teased what uh is it Shadows
of the Damned? Yes, the Weird enough, yeah yeah. But the
other games on this I'm like, who cares about this? Man? Like,
right, rug Rats Adventures in Gameland, Okay, well is you got
to meet the rug Rats people? They are pretty intense. There are just
documentary on YouTube the other day. So I do not want to meet the
rug Rats people. I think people, I'm ok, they're coming for you.
I don't want to meet the Rugs people. Uh yeah. There was
Beyond Good and Evil twentieth Anniversary edition. Uh g I Joe Ratha Cobra effect
if you're effect, Yes, the game, the game that they did Lesbians
exactly, Yes, the game Leslie Yeah, and then here we go.
They don't make like of course they're like the game. Actually when you play
the game, I understand I never really played. It didn't have a ton
of that. That was very much the marketing. It was literally like into
Behavior where it's two women stand next to each other and people are like to
be there. The magazine ad is like they're sitting on top of I remember
vividly. One of them is laying down, the other one sitting on her
ass from behind, and it's like a little bit of like polygonal cleaving.
Yes, and even as a like a horny teenager, I was like,
na, I'm right, thanks exactly. Didn't buy the game exactly. But
there's another one where you know, the main characters like looking away like she's
like, oh, I got it. I'm so serious that I got stuff
to do, and then and the implied girlfriend is like, no, come
back to bed and like like holding her or whatever. I remember it being
a cool game, not like how it played, but like it had a
weird like cyberpunk vibe to it, which was really looks it looks amazing.
I think for a PS one game, it's got a real strong style,
you know, kind of early sell shading for the face there, Like I
suppose nice it looks like to me. But then you're right. The cyberpunk
of visuals are really really good. They're doing Fighting Force as well. I
haven't thought about Fighting Force in so long, I know, That's what I
same here, And I was like, did I ever play any of the
Fighting Force games? I did? I don't think I think I might have
played a little bit, but it's like I was always aware of them.
This is another thing that had a massive marketing campaign. But yeah, they're
putting Fighting Force one and two together in a package. And I mean,
I think the thing I like most about limited run games tam as someone who
doesn't usually buy these physical games, although I have occasionally here and there,
is it is a breadth of time periods that they're pulling from, and it's
like it could be anything. It could be Fighting Force, it could be
Wolfenstein to the New Colosses for the Switch. It's like these games from like
recent times and then going all the way back and pulling something out of nowhere,
and it's like, Okay, at the very least, I am curious
about what they're gonna be able to get next and how are they going to
be able to bring some of these games back. So I appreciate realize they're
using like their own like tech to bring these games back. So that's the
carbon engine and a modern vintage gamer. YouTuber a friend of the show,
he is definitely, so he is like in charge of that. He built
that technology, which is basically just this hub emulator sort of thing that is
very good at accurate emulation, accurate software emulation, and that enables them to
do a lot of the work themselves to bring these games back, and that's
what they're using for bubbs the Perfect Collection unfortunately, but also clock Tower,
Rewind, Gex Trilogy, Schante Advanced Risky Revolution, and then Tomba one and
two which are both also coming. So yes, modern Vintage game built this
engine. Yes, ye, I mean he's he's got a long he was.
He came up through the Xbox like emulations, Like remember on the Xbox
how that got just cracked open and people had like every emulator on it.
That, Like that is his origin story where he worked on that stuff in
the most respectful way possible. What a fucking what a fucking nerd? Right,
I'm like looking at his YouTube channel like that's like you get just nothing
else going on in Australia, Right, I respect you so much. I
love him, Yes, except for bringing back fucking Bubbsy. But other than
that. Yeah, there's the I just noticed, like I'm properly looking at
you know, like Clocked Out, Rewind fair plays a good one, Shantey
people like Shante. I'm not sure about that one, but yeah, that's
that's cool. And then a couple of Tomba games in there, people like
Tombo in there. Yeah, at the very least, like I said,
like having this massive list of games here and people kind of see him,
like on the YouTube channel where someone commented with the time stamps for everything,
I love Ninja five oh for the Game Boy Advance. It's like it is
such a grab bag, but it's all It also is like, Okay,
this is a franchise I haven't thought about forever, like Fighting Force, and
this is something that like, man, I wish more people would be able
to play it, like Ninja five huh. And Limited Run Games has a
very good grasp on that stuff because they do work with people like MVG and
Audie Sorely from Digital Foundry, who is like helping them with like he's like
producing the Bubbs game. It seems like they are These are people that like
know what the games should look like and then also might have the relationships with
some of these studios and property holders to be able to make these things a
reality. And the fact that they're doing the hard work. I think it's
it's just very very cool. Is Limited Run Games one of those companies that
that got bought by Atari recently. No Nightdive did, but I can't remember
if, Like I'm always trying to replace that. But either way, it's
like they are part of that. They were embraced. Okay, they were
embraced. Yeah, that's right. Here's the weird thing. God, it
would have been much better if Atari bought them. I never thought i'd say
that, but here we are. Yeah, because I think Atari has got
a pretty good stance on, like this is what they want to be doing,
is working with these classic things and Limitary Games does work with Nightdive a
lot, which is owned by Atari. But either way, it's like I'm
glad the Embracer has not prohibited prohibited them from going on and doing this work,
which I don't think Embracer knows. Don't know, honest, Yeah,
I don't think anyone knows. Like Embrace it is just like shoving so everything
in this pockets. So I would be I expect a bunch of these things
that they quite to slip under the radar. Yep. Yeah. Probably.
It's like it's like games Foot when it was owned by a CBS, right,
yeah, existed, like you got paramount plus to these email accounts.
What are these? Who cares? Uh? Yeah, so either way,
really cool. I am. So I asked you, like, did you
ever buy these? Like I said, I occasionally buy some of these physical
ones, but very rarely is actually the real answer. But I do see
some of these things. It's like it would be cool to have a Ninta
five ozho. Really though the physical side of it is one thing, they
do also do the work to just like bring these games back in the first
place, and that I do appreciate every time. So yeah, very cool.
Yeah, I feel like it is good for I'm glad that they work
with modern games as well, because there's companies who are like, hey,
we can't really publish this digit physically, and they come along and they're like,
hey, we've seen the demand, will take care of it, which
is I think a regularly super super useful service or wherever it may be.
I'm less interested in the classics stuff unless it's a game I really care about.
There's nothing that I can see here that like I'm like, I have
to have this immediately. Sure, yes, exactly. For me, it's
a lot of I'm really glad this is happening, and do I need to
and I think I'm hopeful that it's like this is going to do fine without
me having to be like, well, now I'll get into physical gaming because
that's what this needs to survive. It feels like Limited Run Games has like
diffinitely made this all make sense, which is I think going to be good
news for a lot of people who are really afraid that physical games are going
to go away and listen, bad news. Physical games are going to be
greatly deprecated going forward from a lot of these companies. I think we've seen
the writing on the wall, and it's beyond writing on the wall in some
cases, as we see with Alan Wake two and even like a lot of
first party Xbox games that like haven't gotten physical releases, like help A two
right doesn't have a physical release? No no, no right. So it's
like, if if you want physical games to continue, support limited run games
and things like that, there are a lot of other companies that do similar
work, and I think at the very least these companies will find a way
to ensure that you can keep buying these games later, kind of like what
happened with Boulder Skate three. I think that is going to be the model.
And what's happening with Alan Lake two, or it's digital only at the
start. It becomes successful enough, grant we're going to put out a physical
deluxe edition that you're going to have to pay a premium for. But no,
it's actually going to be the game on the disc, and it's actually
the one that's been updated a bunch, so it's kind of the right one
to have. It's it is a good long term solution for physical games in
a world that is sort of rejecting physical games at a market level. So,
yeah, you're glad it's happening. I'm glad it's happening. That's right.
Speaking of glad it's happening, Bubbsy is back in The Perfect Collection on
PS five. Bobbs lots more about that, Jeff Grubb. Bobbsy's back in
The Perfect Collection of PS five from Sammy Baker at Push Square Forgetting Platforming Forgotten
Platforming. Furry Bobbsy is on the cusp of making another comeback in The Perfect
Collection on PS five and more. This one is being repurposed to using limited
run games as carbon Engine and promises to explore the franchise's trouble history and enduring
popularity. That's a quote apparently from from run games that includes Infamous PS one
Stinker, Bubbs three D, Infamous Oh Shit, which was developed by Days
Gone maker Ben's studio Bubbsy in the Perfect Collection, Did you know that no
explains everything? Yep? I uh So. When I was playing Bubbsy three
D tam for a Blake Club, there was a section late in the game
where where Biker's apparent, it is just like I just love my wife's ass,
and it's okay, dude, No one asked. It's a terrible,
terrible level where if you stand still you will immediately get shot fifty times by
an enemy. So the entire time I had to yes, I had to
like jump blindly across the level until I got to the end, which whatever,
it's a bad game. But then you get to a section like halfway
through the level where it's like four colored like pillars and you need to attack
them in a certain order to do something, and and it's uh And I
was like, well, okay, is there something in this game that tells
me what order to do this? Then? Is this hidden somewhere? And
I tweeted Ben's studio being like, can you please help me and tell me
what I'm supposed to do here, and they just retweeted it with lull and
that's it. They just said the lull to me and fucking left me to
die. You should have replied, if I play Days Gone in its entirety,
will you help me with Bubbsy? Yeah? That look the game is
infamous. Yes, it's real bad Ben's Studios made it, but they are
apparently they're promising to like sand Down for the rough edge just you know what
right here? Bubbsy's In or Bubbsy In. The Perfect Collection is a playable
history that includes games, artifacts, and interviews. The press release reads,
all the games have been carefully updated for modern PCs and consoles using limited runs
proprietary Carbon engine. Along the way, the team was able to smooth out
some of the games is rough edges. Yes, some listen. There's no
way you turn Bubsy three D into a good game. You can maybe turn
it into something that people can find like, hey, this is interesting to
play through a couple of levels in a way that the way it works now
and it's not like you just are immediately miserable in that game. So I'm
happy for people. But yeah, I don't think. Don't go in those
expecting to be like, Okay, this is the Bubbsy three D I always
imagined. I bet that's not going to be able to happen. Also,
the rough edges are kind of the whole point with that game. So yeah,
in this day in Asia, oh yeah, the exact right, exactly.
It's a cultural sort of object of curio. Yeah, it's it's definitely
more interesting because it's so bad. And you can imagine a world where Mario
sixty four is coming out and these people have to make this game and there
they got a deep head to work with, and they don't know what,
like anything about making three D games because it hasn't really happened yet. You
can see how that game happens, and it's it's very curious from that standpoint.
But yeah, this is happening. Uh, and I guess there's nothing
I could do to stop it. Timm mm hmmm. Uh yeah, bub
Bubbsy. I don't know if I ever really liked any Bubbsy game, tam
Uh. I didn't hate them, most of them Bubbsy three D though not
not notwithstanding the other one, who's the bubb who's the Bubbsy influencer, Like,
who is the Bubbsy influencer? JA? I think Jenny Nicholson. I
know that has a lot of Bubbzy plushes in her videos, but maybe maybe
she did a video about it. I miss but it's not me, chat
stop. It might be you. I think it's you. I was just
trying to say, is that anyone that can supplant you as being well?
The problem is like, yeah, the one that is is Audie Sorely,
who did a really good, uh sort of documentary on a Digital Foundry about
Bubbsy. But but he's working on the game, so it's like he can't
be an influencer. He's he's the producer of the game. Like that's how
much of an influencer he is? Yeah? Yeah, this looks Can someone
like photoshop together a YouTube thumbnail? You know how YouTube thumbnails are of Jeff
Grub and Bubbzy because I'm seeing a load of Bubbzy YouTube videos and they don't
have the modern YouTube thumbnails sensibility and I just want to see one of those.
I just want to see Jeff Grub in front of Bobby and it's like,
did you see Conebaumb did a video of the of cutting this trailer the
above. Yes, oh I saw that. Yeah, with the leaf blower
sound. Now I got to deal with that and the ramifications of my choices,
which I don't. I would buy that if if they like put that
image in there, like all that that trailer they use. The CEO retweeted
it so of limited run games, so it's we're closer to making that happen
than hell. Yeah, let's go, all right, let's I just want
to end finish playing Bubbzy and the credits are rolling in. It's a special
thank you, Jeff grub No be incredible. I don't want that. I
don't need that. He myself, he's so funny. All right, let's
hit the story because it's related. Beyond Good and Evil twentieth Anniversary Edition has
a new narrative link to Beyond Good and Evil two. This is from Wesleyan
pul at IgM Bullshit. Ubisoft has insisted admitted to the Beyond Good and Evil
franchise, and even mentioned its long in development sequel as part of the reveal
of Beyond Good and Evil twentieth Anniversary Edition. Beyond Good and Evil two is
considered vaporware by many fans. After an incredible sixteen, sixteen years since it
was announced back in two thousand and eight. Despite Ubisoft's many vague references to
it still being alive, no video game has materialized thus far, but this
week's announcement of Beyond Good and Evil twentieth Anniversary Edition has sparked renewed hope.
No, it hasn't that Beyond Good and Evil two is real and may even
be re revealed sooner rather than later. This remaster includes a brand new mission
which players can discover more of a protagonist Jade's past, and collective exclusive cosmetic
cosmetic rewards. Crucially, You've Besoft included a note to press that this new
mission quote also reveals more about the narrative wrink to Beyond Good and Evil too,
showing Ubisoft's in turn commitment to the franchise. No, what you know
what Ubisoft is like with this Beyond Good and Evil stuff? You know,
the absolute bomb of a friend that you have who like borrows money for you,
and each time you're like you see him, they're like, I'll have
it. Next time. I'll have you one hundred and fifty dollars for you
next time. You don't even ask, They just volunteer there, huh,
because deep down you know that money was spent on Heroin months ago and you're
never seeing it again. Yes, but every time you see them, they're
like, oh, I know what you're thinking. I know what you're thinking.
I have the money. It's just not I'll promise you the next time
I see you, we will. I will give you the money. I
promise you. And then when when you see him, they're just like,
I didn't know I was gonna see you today. Man, I'm so sorry.
Next time I see you, I'll have the money for you. That
is what Ubisoft is like with this franchise. They're like, it's I promise
you we exist. No, it's gone. It's like you know what,
I don't want it. I don't want it either. I don't want to
hit. They showed us the trailer after that. I don't want that.
No, no, no, unless you've got a brand new, different type
of game, I don't want it because the thing that you showed off was
asked. I went to a preview event for it. It was E three.
They took me into a room and then they showed me pictures of Beyond
Good and Evil to concept uh huh. And then they asked me to interview
a very well known developer about it, and I said, what is this
And he looked me in the eyes and he was like, this is the
future of video games. Oh hell literally, Like I was like, in
my mind, I was like, this ship is never coming out, no
chance. I left that. I don't think you even think I wrote a
preview about it. I have done, but I remember even thinking that I'm
never playing this game. It's not coming out. It's not coming out.
And you know what, sixteen years later, I was right, you're right,
and and like, okay, and if Beyond Good Evil two does get
announced, if there's just no chance on earth. In my mind, it
is that game we saw it, and I like, at this point,
it's like the way that they're talking about it now, where it's like,
you know, we want to have a strong narrative link to the first game.
The the sequel. I don't know if people even remember at this point
didn't have anything to do with Jade or any of these characters. There was
a monkey, and there was space travel and all this stuff, and it's
like, honestly, just do another game with Jade that is a Zelda clone
like the first game, yeah, yeah, and call that beyond good and
evil to and wash your hands of it. I would like the people that
yourself to know, like pay attention, look into my eyes here right like
beyond kid in evil too, per cup Yeves, you are making the new
Duke Nukem forever. Stop this. You are going to kill yourself. No
one cares. Move on, make fucking splint the cell. Stop wasting your
bloody money with this. Beyond you goodn't even nonsense, and bring Sam Fisher
back. Nobody gives a shit about Jade anymore. We want Sam. Thank
you, Thank you, Tam. We appreciate that. All right, let's
take a quick break. When we get back, there's more headlines to get
into, including the latest of what what Nintendo's up to. I'm sorry,
excuse me us read that what Nintendo's lawyers are up to? Right after this?
All right, we are back in action. And let's see here we
got a Nintendo story. Nintendo takes down fan made rhythm Heaven remixed tool.
This is sort of christ and if you see that is the correct response.
Nintendo is taking down a fan made rhythm Heaven remixed tool. Heaven Studio is
a piece of fan created soft Nintendo's luck. You know that friend that un
borrows money and then they're ube. The Heaven Studio is a piece of fan
created software that lets players make their own remixes based on Nintendo's Rhythm Heaven series
of rhythm action games. Players upload their own music tracks, then choose from
a selection of Rhythm Heaven mini games and join them together together, with players
then controlling the action to the beat of the music. However, because the
mini games make use of sprites and sound effects that actually feature the Rhythm Heaven
featured in the Rhythm Heaven games, Nintendo has filed a DMCA claim, which
just led to it being taken down to damn they go Devil McCray action.
Fuck, how no to see it. This feels at this point, Tam,
because we've had what like about four or five six months of stories of
Nintendo's lawyers going after anything and everything, including things that have been like on
the internet for a very long time, like them which was like a rom
repository. This is starting to feel to me like a globalized strategy for the
next gen where they are trying to almost salt the earth of any I'm thinking
about doing anything with Nintendo's IP so that they scare away everybody from trying to
do anything that might look like it could hack the switch to or enable piracy
on the switch to. I think they're like, listen, this is how
this is just what we are. We're out there going after everything. So
do you really want to try to fuck with us on our security for the
switch to? I wouldn't if I were you. That's what this is starting
to feel like to me. Does that read the same to you? Yeah?
I feel like the funniest part of Nintendo Consoles is the way people hack
him, because it's like the most mad shit where it's like, hey,
if you buy bob z three D on the Nintendo Switch and then put it
in, hit the power button, but immediately take out bob z three D
and putting bob Zy Revenge of the Furries or whatever, then basically it unlocks
the entire firm where you hun you can run a fucking Sega Satin games on
it, and people are like, yeah, how did you do this?
Or like you try to connect online and like the certificate has like a link
to something if you click that link and that opens a secret web browser and
then you go to this website on that web browser and wait, what okay,
if you go to this level on a Super Mario Free d World and
then take the cartridge put in the cartridge for Bobzy the Original, you will
have access to America's nuclear launch codes. It's like, how are you achieving
this? What is going on? Like have you got the back door into
like insane shit like this? And I think they're probably like because of something
like we can't let anyone do anything because fucking they somehow come up with creating
portals into our technology that we have no chance of predicting. They're using eight
different games, doing backflips and doing like voodoo shit, and suddenly they own
all of our proprietary technology, and it's it's the kind of thing where it's
like this stuff, in the long run, I think is somewhat to the
benefit of Nintendo, because like the three yes and we you just got you
know, the online shut stuff shut down, and you could still play your
three DS online because fans have done the work. So it's like, just
use this DNS server instead, and that will connect you to our own fake
version of Nintendo Online that enables your three S to work just as it always
did, and you can play with excuse me, other people that are using
the same thing, and it's like, oh wow, that's really cool.
And it makes me feel better about using Nintendo products long term because I know
that when Nintendo loses interest because they're not making money on something anymore and they
put something behind them, that the fan fervor behind these things will be so
strong that these people will be willing to figure out these problems. And a
lot of that is of course driven by piracy, but then a lot of
it's also just driven by people wanting to be able to continue to play their
games. And I'm one of them, and it makes me feel better about
this stuff again long term. You know, you know what Nintendo's like.
Nintendo is like that parent where they neglect their child for years and years and
years and then somehow, just through sheer will and share like resourcefulness, that
child becomes a success and it makes something of themselves. And then Nintendo rolls
up and is like, give me some of your money. I'm the one
who gave birth to you. You owe me. And that's what Nintendo is
like. It's like the fucking get out of here. It's like if I
just trying to Live I succeeded despite you. Yeah, that's what I think.
That's how I think. Yeah, and this specific thing and specific that
we don't want you. Yeah, and you're right, because it's like this,
this thing is awesome. Rhythm Heaven remixed tool, this the Heaven Studio.
I love Rhythm Heaven. I love the idea of being able to just
make my own levels with with whatever music I have. That's awesome. And
really there is of course using Nintendo's IP. Yeah, that is a copyright
infringement. It is not a threat to Nintendo. It's just not you know.
The funniest part of this will be about six from months from now there
will be a new video game, either Rhythm Heaven or some sort of Nintendo
property where you can stitch to give a mini games in a rhythm fact and
in every way I know. Yeah, and then people will be like,
oh, that's that's why this happened. Yeah, And honestly, there's a
chance like maybe maybe that doesn't happen and they're just doing this because the lawyers
are are listless, and they're hired and they're paid a lot of money,
so they feel like they should be doing something. Uh, but yeah,
yeah, my is bizarre. You're right, like, this is definitely a
copyright infringement, but is it a threat. It's not. I don't think
you can. I don't think anyone could like argue this is a threat.
We look at what hap like Star Trek fan films, right, like Star
Trek had for a long time had this open policy. I think it still
does where it's like, we are not going to ever go after fan films.
This is part of what makes this this franchise special. We know that
we love that you're all so passionate about it that you want to make your
own stuff, and so we're never going to come after you for using our
copyright that you are literally infringing upon because it's to the benefit of of the
of the overall franchise, so they don't ever step in. And that wish
Nintendo would take a page out of that book. It's free market research.
Like you, you are just like, these are groups of people who are
excited about your IP. You could just watch them and be like, what
are these falls up to? And at a certain point you could be like,
I think we've got a case here to make a new one of these
video games, Like these nerds will buy it, and like, it's not
like the people who play these like weird knockoffs and like Stitch Together weird like
revival games are suddenly going to be like, we're never going to buy another
one of these ever. Again, the moment you put out another game that
has the words rhythm Heaven on it, all those people are going to buy
that. Yes, Like, I don't understand why you want. I do
understand, but it is like, there is a way to use this to
your advantage, and most of these corporations aren't going to do that. Most
of these major companies aren't going to do that. It's just it's just such
a shame, especially as like these ips are like dwindling and and like the
case for making new games is getting more and more it's getting more difficult to
make stuff like this is a great example of like, hey, we able
to like test the walls without spending literally any money and doing anything. We
can just see it happening. Yeah, it's it's it's frustrating. It's the
kind of thing where you see the company behaving this way and it's, uh,
it's just not gonna make that much of a difference in the end.
I don't know why they overreact to this. And really what it comes down
to me to me, Tam, is that I don't like it when it
feels like the lawyers are running the shop. Uh yeah, lawyers need to
like they they have a very specific idea of how they need to do their
job because they are that they do have to do their job in a certain
way, and they're obligated to tell the tell the companies that they work for
that they are their clients, and their clients like here's what's happening, here's
what the law says, and here's what you should do to put yourself in
the best legal standing, which when it comes to trademark, like there's definitely
a precedent for like, no, you need to be aggressive on protecting that
stuff. So you need to get out there and do this. And that's
all well and fine. I get that, But when a company feels like
it's being led by the lawyers, that's never a good thing. It never
comes across in a way that feels friendly and warm and feels like it's going
to be what's best for the brand long term. I think these companies need
need to have a firmhand with being like listen, Yeah, we get it.
We're so glad you guys are here to protect our brands, to protect
our ips when we need it. But you're not in charge of the shop.
We are calling those shots here, and we have a relationship with with
our customers that we want to protect above whatever our standing is with the law
or whatever. And I think some companies are better than others. And it
feels like Nintendo's in a low point with that where Nintendo America feels more like
a law firm than ever. Yeah, I mean, and also like they
couldn't do it pretty much unimpeded because the vast majority of people aren't aware of
any of this. They don't give a shit, right, like the people
who are buying Nintendo games to the degree that they make them a success is
significant beyond us people who are like why shutting down the rhythm? Have a
mod thing? They can do this without any issue, which fine, it's
us who are like, man, why are you doing this? Well upset
because video game is that really gives a shit? So there is a zero
point zero zero zero percent chance of this changing at any point. Yeah,
and yeah, it just goes back. Lawyers are a tool, not like
that well like that also, but their tool their hammer, and to them
everything looks like a nail. And you just can't let someone like that be
calling the shots. So you have to use them when necessary and kind of
pull them back when it's not necessary. And right now, with all this
a lot of stuff. So I mentioned the chat that the Tears of the
Kingdom randomizer got shut down last week with a DMCA as well, and semly
Cry Action again. Devile make Cry action out there just ruining everything, damp
everything. Yeah, all right. Crash Bandicoot Insane Trilogy sales top twenty million
copies sold, which is just a butt ton. This is from sal Ramano
at Kamatsu. Crash Bandicoot Insane Trilogy sold through a total twenty million units worldwide.
Publisher Activision announced to celebrate, there's a bunch of Crash games on sale
and PlayStation. That is a kind of an astronomical number. Tam, very
few games sell twenty million copies, even though I think we could point to
this, this game was almost certainly on sale a number of times. That
doesn't matter. A lot of games go down to five bucks during a Steam
sale and they do not get the twenty million copies sold. Crash Bandicoot seems
like a real deal superstar in a lot of ways. This is this number
really surprised me. Tam, what do you how do you make it?
I am very excited that crash Bandicoot, developed by the team that worked on
Call of Duty, Black Ops, Call of Duty, War Zone, Diablo
to Resurrected Diablo four has has had a hit. You know, fuck,
I'm glad. I'm glad they they finally go a w yep I I crash
Mandicoot is fun man like, it's It's one of those ones. There's something
really funny about crash Bandicoot in this day and age where it's like the most
goofy ass like dumb like nineties era, like I love the mascot, and
like it comes from the most corporate company possible, where you're like, I
feel like I'm being tricked here. I feel like someone's lying. I feel
like there's something more sinister behind those jorts exactly. I was. I was
a huge crash player when I was younger, Like, I played so much
crash Bandicoot. I all of those games, repeated, repeatedly, completed Crash
Team Racing. I played like crazy amount CTL was incredible. Crash For is
great. I love Crash War. That's that's my favorite one. Yeah.
I mean like those modern Crash games have been good. Like it's a weird
I don't think like the Crash the modern Crash bandicoot games getting off like love
and attention because they are like modern but also weirdly nostalgic in the same way,
like they feel like games from those that that time in that era that
you just somehow missed. Instead of being like we have made them a new
and modern and brought them up to speed with nice just feels like, oh
did I know, so did this come out? And I just missed it?
Which is like I feel like a bit of magic that you have to
be really really really good at capturing and my curious visions did that so huge
shot? I feel like this is well deserved. I do wonder if it
means that you know this feature in Crash like I I would say initially yes,
but didn't they make that fucking stupid multiplayer game. Sure, they did
make that stupid multiplayer game that crashed and burned. I'm sorry I didn't even
mean that, but but he Crash for you know, that was the thing
that happened before that Crash Brandoop Crushed for a Crash in Time or something like
that. That's not the right name, but either way it was. It's
all five million copies, which is also very good, Like that is about
the level you need to get to be like you are an unmitigated success or
you know, there's no caveats in that, you are just a success at
five million copies sold, you know, it's not twenty million. And so
I wonder if you know Microsoft and Activision, the parent companies of Crash bandicot
at this point, look at them, You're like, okay, so then
do we want to do new games in these classic franchises or should we just
continue doing the remakes in mining nostalgia and find ways to do that. And
it's like, I hope the answer is a little bit of both, and
you can get a place where Crash, like you know, Crash five comes
out and continues the lineage and it's bigger than the last game. I would
hope. I would. I would suspect that, like all right, less
testable as a spiral like Break, Yeah, I think that they didn't do
it new. They didn't do a new spiral not a new spiral, theyviral
collection, which also again I think like ten million copies according to Yeah,
I feel like a kind of a spiral game, a new one would be
a good way to like take the next step from there. It doesn't have
to be a massive one. It could just be like, you know,
a little we made a ten hour game, new spiral game or less than
that even and if it works, sweet, invest a bit more in it.
That's right. I think. I think the real Pine in the Sky
like thing is like Spiral Crash crossover the game. That's not a bad idea.
That would be pretty pretty cool. They should get to that point.
So that's that's where Microsoft sat with owning all these things. Yeah, imagine
Spiral being written by Crash in every my slash fiction. Finally, all right,
let's let's set this last story. Veteran Elder Ring players can't believe how
much the DLC is kicking their asses. From Ethan Gotch at Kotaku, It's
Eldering Day again, Shadow of the Ur Tree. It's long awaited and massive
expansion is finally live, and surprise, it's really really hard. Even veteran
players are getting their asses kicked. Whether it's new bosses or random scrubs out
in the field. Everything seems to be hitting harder, and Eldering Stickhouse appear
to be having the time of their lives. The DLC takes place in a
new region called the Land of Shadows, which can only be accessed after completing
some of the base game's toughest bosses. Yeah, there's a bunch of examples
in the story of people mentioned like I have given up. I'm like looking
for the cheese strategy. I just want to this thing is too hard for
me. And uh dam, you've played a lot of this. We talked
a little bit about it, but it's like, is it what you wanted
from a deal with an expansion in terms of the content and in terms of
the difficulty compared to Bass elder Ring. Yeah, so I mean this in
the least flexi way possible. I didn't have a lot of trouble with this
DLC, And I think that's so it's going to be is what you're saying,
all right, perhaps, but I think that's because it was, like
I play elder Ring a lot, right, Bill, Like, since it
came out, I carried on playing it, same with like Securo, I
still play Securro. I still play Born like actively, so I think like
my muscle memory is there, and like my reaction times are still kind of
sharp. So I feel like a lot of that is like warming back up
into like knowing the the kind of like ins and outs of how to play
those games that should be what most like normal players experience. For veterans,
if they're struggling with this, it is a sign that you know, stuff
is tricky. I feel like the thing that they're struggling with is like trying
to play the DFC as if it was the base game. I think people
are coming into this with a lot of confidence forgetting and I put that in
my review. I was like, this is a reminder that you know,
these games have a very specific kind of loop, and the start of that
loop is getting your ass kicked yep. And I think people come in and
they're like, oh, I've played the original, I've beaten Millennia, I'm
good, I'll be fine out this is and then like, yeah, a
random like black Knight jail dude just like absolutely wipes the floor with you.
And I know that, and I know that people who they're talking about.
I think it's a black Knight jail Boss I think it is, and it's
like his mini boss sub boss. No. Even it's like one of those
random like encounters that's on it in a mausoleum as soon as you basically enter,
and that one is a it's teaching you a lesson, Like it's like,
hey, there's this new type of weapon that's gonna absolutely clap your ass
if you're not careful, and and he's like he's very beatable. If you
realize that you hit him three times, he's gonna he's gonna backstep. So
just hit three terms, jump, jump forward, and then hit the air
airborne attack button and you'll just you'll clap him very quickly. So it's just
like every they are difficult in the amount of damage they output, but if
you pay attention and really think about it, you can learn how to counter
pretty much every boss. So yeah, there are bosses in the game.
I know, Like I've been talking to people who have been playing, who
have played the game in the review phase, and I know there's one boss
that everyone really struggled with, like pretty badly, and like I steamrolled it,
and it was just like you can get very lucky as well, Like
I I definitely like there's an element of like knowing what to do in skill
and that kind of stuff, but there is also an element of like I
got lucky either that one you know, this popped off. And that's the
one thing I feel like that people don't talk about enough for from software games.
There's a very very like small window which is the right at the end
of a boss's health bar, which just has a completely like transformative effect on
players where they see the bars so close to winning, like to beating the
brains just go into like the abandoned all strategy and they're just like I'm running
there, hit this one time, I'm done. I'm done, and then
like all the funniest ship starts to happen and like it's that is where like
you it's it's and this game gets you into like the choke zone or the
clutch zone way more frequently, and it is I think it's more brutal in
that zone than previous games, so I feel like it's punishing people who aren't
super skilled in that particular like final stretch of the health pool, which I
this is what I wanted I want. I wanted it to be like,
no, let's get real. Come on, this is how it's always been.
Like the DLC. They had Autorious, they had all the characters in
the Dog cells do DLC the Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the
Ivory King three had Slave Night Gale, Bloodborne had Lady Maria like that.
All of these, all of these bosses in the DLCs are harder than the
majority of the bosses. And there is I think one boss that is much
harder than millennia in this I think this new boss is the standard for hard
from software bosses. Very doable, very very doable. I did it on
my third try. All right. I like to hear that I'm not worried.
You know why, Tam, because I got my I got got get
my get good gaming, hailer. I'm so worried about you. There,
I goes. I'm just gonna, damn, let's go one of these days.
One of these days, you're gonna do one of these things and just
drop dead on right, It's all worth it if I'm doing a drugs day
with you, buddy. All right, let's wrap up this dumb show that
we do here. Uh uh, there's a poll question which I need to
bring up here I had it there. There we go. Did we actually
put that up yesterday? I might have forgotten. I don't know if anyone
else. One of these days you should do a poll question. I actually
make a question about the Polish. Oh yeah, that's that's a good idea.
Yeah, that's we gotta be careful with that personally. But uh are
they? Are they great people or the greatest people? There? You go,
They're fantastic. That's that's how we do it. We didn't put the
full question because Jan's out. We're bad at We're bad at. This is
how this goes. Is he still having fun? I think he's still having
fun, which I'm out of. I love it when is having no no,
put it into it. It's weird. You know, you should be
stressed out and trying to take care of all of us like always. He
is the dad of this crew. Yeah yeah, yes, Sean, you're
right. I shouldn't have said that. We forgot to put it up.
I should have said you that is the telling. Oh, he says,
tell me to do it, you jackass, do it, you jackass,
do it, jackass. The one from yesterday which we did not answer,
was where do you want to buy Marvel Versus Capcom Fighting Collection, PlayStation switch,
PC, Xbox if you could, or I'm not buying it, go
ahead and we'll get that post. Xbox. Is it on Xbox? No,
it's Xbox if you could. That's okay, Xboxes. I love the
Xbox has bubbs. Even Marvel us Capcom collection. That's fucked up that.
I mean, it's it's the truth, Tam. But you don't have to
say it, all right, like you could just spare them all with that.
All right, Well we will get that pull question on Monday. Right,
we should be here on Monday. There's no reason we shouldn't be.
Yeah, no, no, no, no no. But in the meantime,
Tam, what do you have going on? Or where can people find
you? All that good stuff? We have Revengeance coming up. Later today,
we're going to chat about some games that we played at the Summer Game
Festival, and then probably talk a little more about Elden Ring. That would
be fun. And then I think, Grub, you've got some sort of
nonsense for us. Yeah, we'll come up with some nonsense. Absolutely.
I love chatting about nonsense. Yeah. Next week is going to be the
launch of a She's not here to plug it, so I'll plug it for
her. And a series that Lucy has been working on very hard for a
very long time called Star Players is a lot of fun. She's been chatting
into like a bunch of celebrities about their gaming journeys. And I've been there
for a few of the shoots and they are a good time. So like
such a big star like Mike Minati, who oh, I'm okay listen,
We're not supposed to say that one yet. Sorry, sorry, my bad,
the Disney guy. Absolutely not, fucking hell, the most annoying human.
Someone did that on that Voice of Dumb Truck yesterday tail where it's like
they're like, I thought they were about to say Casper Vandy and like,
oh you got What was it like to got like a pretty big star on
the show? What was it like getting Mike Manati? And yeah, So
that's Monday. It starts Monday, and then the episodes coming out semi regularly
after that. It's a very cool whatever. What should check it out?
Yeah? Yeah, next week should be the return of spot On as well.
We've we've we had to take a little bit of break because we went
Summer Game first and then like we got back from Summer game first and I
had to go into elden Ring review mode, and let me tell you that
was I'm tired, very yeah. Yeah. I mentioned the playtime too,
Mike and Sean yes last night, and they're like, wait, he played
sixty hours already. I'm like, yes, yeah, yeah it was.
It was tiring, but yeah, I'll be back on We're back on that
next week. You can find me on Twitter, and I actually, like
fire started putting up all my I keep saying this, but like my stream
new stream assets courtesy of Jerum, who's incredible, and they look so nice
that our stuff shows. Yeah, yeah, I told him. Can you
imagine like Tunami Slash, that kind of era of vibe mixed with everything that
I like, you know, like Street for anime, that kind of stuff,
and the stuff that he made is unbelievable, is so good, Jeremy
one Game Players Magazine is what I want. Just nonsense nineties mush all over
a paper page. That's that's stuff I want. There you go, I'm
gonna I'm going to see if I can actually like get a picture up just
so I can show it on my phone to the camera. But yeah,
that that is a. I've like set that up, so I'm hopefully going
to stream very soon. I know everyone's probably gonna be like elder Ring.
I'm not sure if I'm going to do elder Ring. I have played a
lot of elder Ring, and elder Ring's also like my you know my game
that I play, right, that's that's all my own. Yeah, yeah,
yeah, I don't have any images, but yeah, that will be
there as well. So you can go to twitch or TV for a slash
to more age to see that, and then I'm gonna try and figure out
this mal gestort of thing. Yes, that would be fantastic. That would
be great. I am looking forward to that. I think everybody he mentioned
most things upf will be happy. I'll be starting it sometime in the next
hour. I'll be starting up Shadow the Ear Tree afresh from the beginning watch
me get Wrecked. I am looking forward to it. I am very excited
to get in this game. How is it on steam Deck? It currently
is not great. They came out and they were like, hey, we
know some weird ship is going on with steam Deck. We're working on it.
I think it's genuinely like it's not one of those negligence things. I
think something weird happened with it, because I think they're very aware of the
fact that Steam Deck was pretty big for elder Ring. Yes, so I
believe they said they're working on it. Did you try it on the Roger
at all? The ally I played the originally. I haven't played any of
the DLC anyway, but my nzxt hot PC right because I wanted to look
and it looks so nice. There's some parts of that game that it's just
like a whole baby. Yeah, Sean's bitch and what I'm assuming is happening
with elder Ring, Yes, the right. That's how they did it with
the original launch. It was like Steam rebuilt the shaders into the Steam Decks
Pro time Layer, which made the game run kind of better, more smoothing
in a lot of ways than anywhere else. And they'll probably get that done
here and do an update, and I'm sure Valve is helping them because they
did that with the first the first run around. All right, Tam,
thank you so much for spinning today talking with me about video games. Man.
I really appreciate it. I love doing this and I see you hopefully
maybe next week. Hopefully we'll make that happen as best we can. Everybody,
Thank you all for watching and listening. You're the best audience in gaming.
And apparently I died and was born in nineteen sixty two. Sean,
thanks a lot. Oh yeah, thanks a lot. I'm not that old,
all right. I'm forty one, all right, so I'm kind of
old, but I'm not that old. Until next time, I have a
good take care of yourself, and goodbye.
