Episode 72 - Random Xenos of the Galaxy pt 1
On todays cast we begin our coverage of the random Xenos of the galaxy. Our focus is on some of the Xenos that have no codex. Thes are races that appear in stories, codexes, and some of GW’s side games. Many of these races have only a few (very well written) paragraphs on them in the lore, so it is more of a quick rundown on each of the races. On todays cast we cover: The Tepresi, Cythor Fiends, Caryatids, Rak’Gol, the Slaugth and more.

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast. [SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to Forty Kaylorcast with me, John Barsati and Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_01]: This guy. [SPEAKER_01]: On today's cast we're getting a two part super random cast on the all the non-codex Zeno so the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: So this is going to be weird and probably really funny. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm telling right now on this because this I know so much lower Forty Kay. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it is that you decided to do. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you, you went, hey, I'm, how about a bunch of stuff that you have no idea about. [SPEAKER_04]: So John sends me two, two hundred page and a, [SPEAKER_04]: One hundred something page here. [SPEAKER_04]: If I'm documents and goes, I don't know anything about. [SPEAKER_01]: And I sent you, I sent you some PDFs. [SPEAKER_04]: And then I went, so you then had to figure out how to open. [SPEAKER_04]: I did. [SPEAKER_04]: And I read them both of them. [SPEAKER_04]: One was a lot better than the other. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the, the, the, the liber is a lot better than the other. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's so much better. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about those in a second. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, this is, this cast is going to be fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, explain more in a minute. [SPEAKER_01]: But before we begin though, Forty K. Laura cast is a weekly podcast releasing every Monday at seven p.m. [SPEAKER_01]: Eastern time, focusing the lore of Warhammer Forty K. Universe. [SPEAKER_04]: And I did make seven with my fingers. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Brad's the marrying that puppet has continued. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, it has started in episode one. [SPEAKER_01]: And we're episode seventy two. [SPEAKER_01]: None of you realized there's like we could like videotaped this, but just a weird thing of a Brad randomly expressing himself in ways no one can see. [SPEAKER_01]: Before we begin, I was always a couple of quick notes. [SPEAKER_01]: Please follow and comment on the cast if you can. [SPEAKER_01]: It helps our rating and every morning when I drink my coffee, I have to read all your comments and it makes me that that'll give me joy. [SPEAKER_01]: Additionally, in the show notes, you'll see links to our website along with our Discord and our Patreon. [SPEAKER_01]: And a new link for those who are interested, we are gonna be hosting a one hundred and fifty plus person event from June six to June eighth, twenty twenty four. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm in Metro Detroit. [SPEAKER_04]: Twenty twenty five, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: Twenty twenty five. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: That's good point, Brad. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_04]: We're going back in time. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: That is, look, it's January so that whatever year it is is gets a little bit difficult. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're interested in playing in the event, please sign up and join us. [SPEAKER_01]: We'd love to have you there. [SPEAKER_01]: If you just want to come see the event, we'll be there swinging. [SPEAKER_01]: It's open to the public. [SPEAKER_01]: So come on by. [SPEAKER_04]: And weirdly enough, you'll be playing, and I won't for a change. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because the difference is if you won the event that we were putting on, people would call you a cheater. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what? [SPEAKER_01]: I can't do it. [SPEAKER_04]: They wouldn't call me that. [SPEAKER_04]: They would just call me a lot of different names. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you know what? [SPEAKER_04]: I can't do it. [SPEAKER_01]: There is, I can tell you, I will call it out right now. [SPEAKER_01]: If I win a hundred and fifty plus person major, I cheated. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll just admit that now. [SPEAKER_01]: This way for those of you who like what we do here and a bit more of it, we have a link to a discord, both on the show notes and on our website. [SPEAKER_01]: It's completely free as every discord should be you jackasses that charge for them. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's built around a community and enjoy me the hobby. [SPEAKER_01]: We've got channels to ask us questions and request new things, tell us what we got wrong, specifically all the things I miss pronounced. [SPEAKER_01]: I knew favorite channel. [SPEAKER_01]: We're not covering the election. [SPEAKER_01]: There are also channels. [SPEAKER_01]: You're not getting your praise. [SPEAKER_01]: I was so mad they made it. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to send Alan. [SPEAKER_01]: We're in this story. [SPEAKER_01]: Randomly the mods made a new channel where people talk about the legend of Brad. [SPEAKER_01]: Where it's like, you know, they did Chuck Norris. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but Brad killed two stones with one bird. [SPEAKER_01]: Those types of things, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And it is glowing his ego so much that we have a mutual friend. [SPEAKER_01]: who will end this if he gets in there. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, a hundred percent. [SPEAKER_04]: We did a cast together where it was just based on him making fun of me for an hour. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that is and I'm going to unleash him into this thing pretty soon. [SPEAKER_01]: Just to get your ego back in check where he just said has does a two hundred before and after photos of you. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: The discord though is a really it's a very very fun place. [SPEAKER_01]: We've got stuff in there beyond Brad and I more importantly for you the listener stuff on for UK literature. [SPEAKER_01]: We're getting recommendations table top play hobbying of building in models. [SPEAKER_01]: Even general chat memes people who are looking for people to play a space marine to with them names. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The meme channel is meme channel is a little dicey sometimes though. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me say that and we had some recent stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Before that, it's been pretty good for me. [SPEAKER_01]: The meme channel is quite good. [SPEAKER_04]: There's some good fun stuff on there. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_04]: Give it this will be in the past. [SPEAKER_04]: By the time this releases, that'll be in the rear view mirror. [SPEAKER_01]: So I do want to note to the discord, Kevin, Maisie, Brian, misspelled, Ethan. [SPEAKER_01]: Steve Ryan Trevor and David, you guys doing incredible job of monitoring our discord. [SPEAKER_01]: There's five, five hundred members right now in there and if it wasn't that, if we didn't have the mods, this would have devolved to the bar of no rules from always sunny and Philadelphia. [SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't seen that. [SPEAKER_04]: We would have never got that far because you would have sent them on fire. [SPEAKER_01]: So I would have burned it to the ground before that that ever happened. [SPEAKER_01]: I think you wake up sometimes and just go birdly ground time, birdly ground time. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, I got the button just ready to go. [SPEAKER_01]: Lastly, if those of you looking to play the game, Brad is available for coaching services. [SPEAKER_01]: You can go to our website or a discord if you want more information around it. [SPEAKER_01]: But with thirty years of playing and ten years of coaching, Brad's a really great resource for people who are looking to improve their experience. [SPEAKER_01]: And when I say their experience playing the game, I don't mean make them just make them a better player, actually enjoy playing the game on a tabletop more. [SPEAKER_01]: Brad's very good at helping us with sucks in this game is when you just make incredible dumb errors and lose, and it's great having someone who can come in and prevent you from doing those. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm also just passionate about having a good time while you play. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: That's a real thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Have you warned any coaching clients about whatever local door and exploding can do to your army? [SPEAKER_04]: A lot. [SPEAKER_04]: I actually brought that up to two of my coach and people. [SPEAKER_04]: Dom was of course one of them. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, under the cast. [SPEAKER_01]: So just so you guys understand why we're doing this, this is entirely me. [SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorite things to do is a child was like crack open the D&D monsters companion or any other supplement I played rifts I played always I loved just reading through them and you'd find like a random monster like an umber Hulk or a beholder or a white if you put a w get white w i g h t no idea how that's pronounced I'm gonna go and white [SPEAKER_01]: The past. [SPEAKER_01]: It was stories. [SPEAKER_01]: You said you'd read. [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't just, all right, this is the Umber Hulk strength and blah blah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, what is an Umber Hulk? [SPEAKER_01]: And it wouldn't be much. [SPEAKER_01]: It'd be three paragraphs, maybe four, maybe four. [SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't much, but it was just enough to satiate you and go to the next one. [SPEAKER_01]: That is a love that's never gone away. [SPEAKER_01]: For me to this day, I'll get up in the morning. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm playing, it was Mass Effect. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm playing Mass Effect three. [SPEAKER_01]: I can't play it while drinking coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: So what do I do? [SPEAKER_01]: I hit the pause screen. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'll read just random things that one of the random Zenos. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's well written by the way, the codex is so good. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, if you guys don't know this, some of these things are incredibly well written. [SPEAKER_01]: Every game has this, what's around me that I can see from here, but like Horizon forbidden West, forbidden West does all these things do it where you have all these really great little snippets that exist. [SPEAKER_01]: I love reading that. [SPEAKER_01]: So when it came to Forty Kay, I did the same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love these random Zenoes that are all throughout the galaxy, because you have to fill in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: There's tons of space in it. [SPEAKER_01]: So how do you fill in all these gaps? [SPEAKER_04]: I think that you like that a lot. [SPEAKER_04]: And I agree that that's a real thing. [SPEAKER_04]: I think that you just went, I want to be Brad Bradley in something in lower and I'm going to find it. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I, you did. [SPEAKER_01]: I found a way to just confuse Brad so badly because desperately researching all of this. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because what happens is the truth is Brad really is incredible knowledge based on this lower. [SPEAKER_01]: By doing the Zeno faction, it was that piece of everything that was on the edge of his brain. [SPEAKER_01]: I had to think really, really hard to wear this thing came from. [SPEAKER_01]: Because again, everything we're referencing here existed something he read. [SPEAKER_01]: But speaking of things that he read, let's go through for those of you who find this cast interesting and want to know more about it. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to spend a bit of time where we got this information from. [SPEAKER_01]: So GW, when they want to have fun, knock it out of the pocket. [SPEAKER_04]: Crush it. [SPEAKER_04]: The primer of this, I think the zineologists, this was so fun. [SPEAKER_04]: I read this in [SPEAKER_01]: And one day, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: That's good point. [SPEAKER_01]: All I will don't even know these books exist. [SPEAKER_01]: So there are two main books that the GW has released in this. [SPEAKER_01]: In two thousand five, there's a book called Zenology. [SPEAKER_01]: And then in twenty twenty one, they released something called the Lieber Zanalogist. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to lot of stuff in it. [SPEAKER_01]: So zinology, I read back when it came out no five. [SPEAKER_01]: It was written from the in perspective of an inquisitor named Raleigh. [SPEAKER_01]: Raleigh was obsessed with learning every he could about the major zinos in the galaxy and he started working with the imperial military to capture zinos so he could dissect them and their weaponry. [SPEAKER_01]: The problem is, over time, he starts building this massive tomb of knowledge, and he was later labeled a heretic. [SPEAKER_01]: Mostly because he had, he was, well, he kind of was. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, if you figure out what the imperial thinks is a heretic, he had so much. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he had a massive collection of orcs and urnids like all the weapons, everything cataloged, right now, how much better they were in the imperial versions of it. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, he got labeled a heretic and the inquisition supposedly destroyed all of his works, but they didn't, they actually handed them all to the death watch. [SPEAKER_01]: autopsy are awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the autopsy, the videos in this book. [SPEAKER_01]: So actually, let's call it a time of recording. [SPEAKER_01]: This has been out of print for like twenty years. [SPEAKER_01]: So you cannot buy this book. [SPEAKER_01]: But if you know how to sing a song, because a yo-ho-ho, you probably can figure out my hint of where you could find a copy. [SPEAKER_01]: It's because that's where I got it from. [SPEAKER_04]: I like it was a lot of fun. [SPEAKER_04]: I like the reading both of my stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: I like the one specifically. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's go better one. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about the better. [SPEAKER_01]: The better one is liver zanalogist and liver zanalogist is a random book that came out for no reason. [SPEAKER_01]: Written from the perspective of the road trader named Janice Drake. [SPEAKER_01]: Yannis Drake is in the comes from a different game set, but his backster was cool as hell. [SPEAKER_01]: He's a Terenborn noble who in his youth had a disagree with a navigator house and killed one of the members of the navigator houses, which is not a good thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Navigator houses are [SPEAKER_01]: pretty powerful. [SPEAKER_01]: It comes out of an okay. [SPEAKER_01]: But yes, I'm how he gets out of this. [SPEAKER_01]: And we don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Trader. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he gets vanished from Tara, but is a rogue trader. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm assuming his family had some money. [SPEAKER_04]: His handling had all of the money. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: He also, again, looks like the League of Extraordinary Gentleman kind of guy. [SPEAKER_01]: He sees the visuals on him right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so cool. [SPEAKER_01]: And so what's what he does though. [SPEAKER_01]: So he then goes into the galaxy and begins acquiring just unique relics and applying them for with nobles. [SPEAKER_01]: for like wealth and power. [SPEAKER_01]: Like so much so he actually has now taken possession of planets and exchange for trinkets that he's had. [SPEAKER_01]: So he's built an entire real trader. [SPEAKER_04]: They have a big thing when they say trinkets. [SPEAKER_04]: Some of his trinkets is wild and same tech. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it also had to be a graph tank. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, a graph tank that he happened to be like, yeah, I'll give you this for this like, I agree. [SPEAKER_01]: We're old and the guy either really, yeah, I don't care. [SPEAKER_01]: This graph tanks play cool or God, like, enjoy. [SPEAKER_01]: He also were he blew up in the game for those who want to more about them. [SPEAKER_01]: There was this great game called Blackstone Fortress that came out like, nineteen. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think we've been about about nineteen eighteen nineteen nineteen doesn't nineteen. [SPEAKER_01]: Where it was kind of I would call old school D&D where you actually had to follow a path in it. [SPEAKER_01]: But in Warhammer forty. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so level up. [SPEAKER_01]: You would level up. [SPEAKER_01]: It was really like a lot of the stuff you see in Crusade. [SPEAKER_01]: There's something it came from this game. [SPEAKER_01]: Really really great game. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, no idea. [SPEAKER_01]: You can find a copy of it today. [SPEAKER_01]: If you can. [SPEAKER_01]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Probably. [SPEAKER_04]: I like the way it's written, though, because it's written as almost a journal, a bunch of journal entries in his paintings. [SPEAKER_01]: The liver's analogous is something that Yannis Drake wrote. [SPEAKER_04]: I loved it. [SPEAKER_04]: It's got me so excited, because it was a fun read, because [SPEAKER_04]: it's this collection of journal writings from him and they're all different and some of them seem to be written under the rest and you know the they're all different types of writings and he's excited about this and this is a [SPEAKER_01]: a humdrum kind of you know we found this and I should write it down and they're all written and they're almost a collection of short stories for each yet you it's not it's not like a novel where you start we have to go all the front to back you can just kind of you can flip through read a bit of it and read a bit more of it um later it is fantastic um also out of print so [SPEAKER_01]: Yara, there's your hint, guys. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not hard. [SPEAKER_01]: Literally, literally, you can Google the name of the book, followed by PDF. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how I got my copy. [SPEAKER_04]: I like his very, I like the, out of the two books, I like his original lot. [SPEAKER_04]: He also gives more first hand. [SPEAKER_01]: I dealt with people. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's, it's, it's candidly. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just much better with. [SPEAKER_04]: Because you get that whole like sometimes he was curious sometimes he was afraid sometimes you just want to get the hell out of there. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're the one race he met where he was just like he was terrified. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they were supposed to be extinct and he's just like, oh, I'm gonna die. [SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so with that, let's jump into this. [SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be random as hell, genuinely random hell. [SPEAKER_01]: We're just going to do random species and go from there. [SPEAKER_01]: So let's start with, um, because our last episode was on the death watch, I want to talk about how the death watch would handle a zino. [SPEAKER_01]: So we'll start with something called a depressi. [SPEAKER_01]: The depressi are a large burrowing zino. [SPEAKER_01]: What they would do is they would go into subterranean dens. [SPEAKER_01]: They think we're massive. [SPEAKER_01]: and they had tentacles. [SPEAKER_01]: They would that they would reach up through the surface, which I assume are pointy employees in this because GW probably made them that one. [SPEAKER_01]: I can't have some rains. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And so when a victim would walk past, the tentacles would shoot up and grab them and pull them down so they could feed. [SPEAKER_01]: They said the death watch to deal with them because they were only on one plane. [SPEAKER_04]: Also, this race is not even. [SPEAKER_04]: It's not sent to you. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But it was eating people close enough. [SPEAKER_01]: It was eating people. [SPEAKER_04]: They had some better than animal intelligence and they went, [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I just like this story because it's a cool story on the death watch. [SPEAKER_01]: So the death watch sent kill teams down and the kill teams would sit with you special, the basic motion detectors look for small vibrations in the ground. [SPEAKER_01]: And that would meant that told me that this that depressing tentacles were just sitting. [SPEAKER_01]: This is awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: This is awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they would then walk over them to make the tentacles shoot up. [SPEAKER_01]: And as a shot up, they would cut them with the couple of power weapons. [SPEAKER_01]: Then they would grab the remaining tentacles. [SPEAKER_01]: And as these again, space marines would pull the creatures out of the ground and put a hellfire around in their skull, leather wrench repeat. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they just kept walking up to their burrows chop off arm shooting. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're now perfect. [SPEAKER_04]: I love problems. [SPEAKER_01]: Problem solved. [SPEAKER_01]: The depressing are now extinct. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, another one is called the agrenium. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't, I have no idea what they look like. [SPEAKER_01]: All we know is that they could brainwash other races, primarily humans, warp powers, or like the way that's how we do it. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: And we don't know because they're all dead. [SPEAKER_01]: They're all dead. [SPEAKER_01]: And I explain how that happened. [SPEAKER_04]: But I like these guys, though, because they, they're brainwash thing. [SPEAKER_04]: It felt like [SPEAKER_04]: they were taking over and poppin'ing people. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, with what they were talking about. [SPEAKER_01]: The invasion brought us natural style. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't know a lot about them, but we know is that they were able to brainwashed large groups of people, and they would send these people as hordes into any invader. [SPEAKER_01]: Just masses upon masses of people that would just happily die for them. [SPEAKER_01]: These were handled by an imperial night Legion, who got down there, [SPEAKER_01]: looked around, got bored of stomping on people and just decided they would pack up a door. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we pack up a little bit and this eradicated the biosphere of the planet. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we still want the planet, but it'd be cool if all these people weren't here. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so they collapse the biosphere, killed everything on the planet, including these mine controllers, and then brought in terraforming afterwards. [SPEAKER_04]: I love the solution, though, they're like, for sure, [SPEAKER_04]: billions of people are being mine control. [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, did you know where the people mine controlling are? [SPEAKER_04]: kind of like, how about we just kill the plant? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: They're like, that sounds so much easier. [SPEAKER_01]: That's so much easier. [SPEAKER_04]: There's so many steps to figuring this out. [SPEAKER_01]: We're just, we're, we're calling the terraformer. [SPEAKER_01]: It's on its way. [SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't really like mysteries seem like a lot of work. [SPEAKER_01]: Here's a fun one. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not even trying that one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The locks, a lot of L.O.X. [SPEAKER_01]: A.T.L. [SPEAKER_01]: I assume it. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm proud to see it locks a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, like, an ax a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: Still? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, they're both amphibians. [SPEAKER_01]: So the locks a lotl are an amphibian that looks like a Komodo dragon. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a GW's words. [SPEAKER_01]: Not mine. [SPEAKER_01]: This is not mine. [SPEAKER_04]: This is not mine. [SPEAKER_01]: This is not mine. [SPEAKER_01]: This is not mine. [SPEAKER_04]: This is not mine. [SPEAKER_01]: This is not mine. [SPEAKER_04]: This is not mine. [SPEAKER_04]: John has a full thing in the notes. [SPEAKER_04]: GW words not mine. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a quadruped with sharp claws and teeth, which is for the record a theme within all GW aliens species. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to call up a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: Sharp claws. [SPEAKER_01]: and teeth. [SPEAKER_01]: The locks a lot all are fast and their senses are attuned to hunting prey. [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I thought these were more like though? [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_04]: It'll go start track at this one. [SPEAKER_04]: I thought they were going. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the picture, I mean, the picture on them, it just looks like it looks like a black commoto dragon. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like a lizard. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: More like, by the way, in the image, do you have of them? [SPEAKER_01]: No part of that image is amphibian. [SPEAKER_01]: Like zero, zero part of it. [SPEAKER_01]: They've never even seen water. [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: What's cool about them is that they actually largely serve in mercenary companies and pipe mostly pirates all around the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're primarily used there for tracking and hunting down boundaries. [SPEAKER_01]: Because even if you're in a hive city and you're trying to track them down. [SPEAKER_01]: Lot the locks a lot all can track you get you and kill you. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, also they're pretty good. [SPEAKER_01]: Not dying. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, they didn't get exterminated. [SPEAKER_01]: But some of them do survive. [SPEAKER_01]: I was just gonna say they anybody that's still in a sitting distance. [SPEAKER_01]: Good job. [SPEAKER_01]: Good job guys. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because that means at some point the impairing became aware of you and went, well, whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: Unlike these ones. [SPEAKER_01]: So the arc, roof, arc, higher earth. [SPEAKER_01]: Are you ready for the room for the shot? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's a bunch of super fun guys Yeah, they're they're fun guys. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, the Arc Jai are at the were also known as the bone drinkers. [SPEAKER_01]: These guys are doucheys not not a great when they knew flash. [SPEAKER_04]: They're gonna get wiped out later on [SPEAKER_04]: They deserved it. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they sucked so much. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so there are psychically active race that lived all like the fringes of the galaxy, which is by the way, we're all the best GW writing is. [SPEAKER_01]: Every any z-nose that lives in the fringes of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And the other on the fringe of the galaxy is really well written and really cool. [SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_01]: These guys are ugly. [SPEAKER_01]: They have no technology. [SPEAKER_01]: What they do is they just use their psychic powers to infect and take over spaceships, where they're just in the snare or whatever's there. [SPEAKER_01]: And whatever is the snare, they bring into a basic almost like a pile. [SPEAKER_01]: And they slowly dissolve them and suck all the nutrients out of their bodies. [SPEAKER_04]: out of the bone marrow first. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're getting bone marrow. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know, something that's unbelievably terrible. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium first bumps into these guys during the Great Crusade. [SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't, it, they were actually a huge problem to deal with. [SPEAKER_01]: Mostly because they were only on the very fringe of the galaxy, right at the top of the map. [SPEAKER_01]: And this made them also not really a threat. [SPEAKER_01]: So the idea was like, well, it's not really bother. [SPEAKER_01]: But then when they did try to actually engage with them, they turned out to be really resistant. [SPEAKER_01]: Because once they were in a ship, you really just had to blow up the ship or the colony. [SPEAKER_04]: Because they were just, they were more than a fungus, but like it was [SPEAKER_04]: you had to kill him down to. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the molecules basically. [SPEAKER_01]: And where this gets to be funny to me is the emperor decides that he's had enough of them. [SPEAKER_01]: And he spent sends a combo of space wolves and nightlords, which is a pretty strong combo. [SPEAKER_04]: There's no way to fight it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's together. [SPEAKER_01]: But the space wolves and nightlords couldn't exterminate them because they just didn't know how to handle this fungus. [SPEAKER_01]: However, Alpharius got involved. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what? [SPEAKER_01]: Good job, Alpharius. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: Alpharius just goes and makes a special virus and dumps it over an entire section of the galaxy where any or are all Akha Rithar. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, yeah, they don't just anymore. [SPEAKER_04]: I love it. [SPEAKER_04]: Because he makes a virus that specifically just kills them. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's it. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't even know it's there. [SPEAKER_01]: It's to be fair. [SPEAKER_01]: The records are imperial records. [SPEAKER_01]: It may not have just killed them. [SPEAKER_04]: That's true. [SPEAKER_01]: According to imperial records. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: They're going to have been a lot of collateral. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: And only affected them because no one else is there to say. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We have proved me wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: I dare you. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_01]: We've talked a couple times now about, you know, the imperms issue is, you know, they're not the only ones. [SPEAKER_01]: The Iraqin. [SPEAKER_01]: I like the Iraqin because the Iraqin refused the towel offering of the greater good. [SPEAKER_04]: Now don't worry, guys. [SPEAKER_04]: All you towel supporters, I'm going to give the towel props on this one because they refuse the towel and then the towel did not take that kindly. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, except it's slipped on their boots and mighty ass kicking. [SPEAKER_01]: Not at first, the issue was that the Iraqian can fight close at hand-to-hand. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the towel can't do? [SPEAKER_01]: At fight at all. [SPEAKER_01]: Multiple years, the towel we're just getting beat up, because, truthfully, the best way to beat a towel is to hit them with a big stick or poke them with a pointy stick. [SPEAKER_01]: And the Iraqian weren't insectoid race whose limbs were razor sharp. [SPEAKER_04]: However, sometimes you've got to take a name character and give him his equipment. [SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, the towel did have far sight. [SPEAKER_01]: I like how I'm, my dislike of towel is so strong. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm rooting for bloodthirsty Zeno. [SPEAKER_01]: Bloodthirsty Zeno are acted with pointy arms. [SPEAKER_04]: the towel we're losing far side cave the town and I can only assume that this race went more towel and far side went beat down city population you yeah they don't like the Iraq and also no longer exist oh far sides of boss [SPEAKER_01]: Again, going back to my monster's companion one, another area I love in the entire solar system are what they call the ghoul stars, which you know or not well, is not a good spot. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the extreme upper right of the galaxy, and I'd like you to be even with us in. [SPEAKER_01]: This is an area where the stars are pretty far apart from each other. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of dark space. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a lot of, it's effectively useless for the Imperium to go up there because just traveling is hard. [SPEAKER_01]: This space is all pirates, rogue traders, and things and other. [SPEAKER_01]: and the other are a huge problem. [SPEAKER_01]: Because they can operate with reckless abandon. [SPEAKER_01]: Because of this, any civilization or colony ship that goes into the ghoul stars that disappears, it's just like, yeah, check the box and what it could have been. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's a big deal with this because one of my favorites, spacewalks, which are monstrously large. [SPEAKER_04]: It's not just a little ship flow. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, space hug is not a former frigate, but it is a giant thing. [SPEAKER_04]: But you also have these civilizations that the imperium is beat down that are trying to run away. [SPEAKER_04]: They are definitely in witness protection right now. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: But you also have larger pirates, people that lost all these people trying to recoup their empires and stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: Isn't it just two guys in a ship driving around? [SPEAKER_04]: There's some shit out here. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all and all of that is up in this area. [SPEAKER_01]: So for a while, no one was aware that the cythorphine even exists. [SPEAKER_01]: The slender man? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And so the sidetharf, just because it's a bipedal. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it looks like a long thin human. [SPEAKER_01]: But they have a weird thing where they can shape shift in a crazy way. [SPEAKER_01]: They carry this tiny silver disc. [SPEAKER_01]: It's all to ever describe this. [SPEAKER_01]: And if they press the disc, they're entire body just disintegrates into little glass shards that can then move and shift around with them. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a really cool scene in the book where it is in the libress is, you know, I'll just about this. [SPEAKER_01]: Where Drake, Jack, we're Drake. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Drake describes Josh and Drake describes this happening and killing a bunch of. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he's, that's one of the stories where he's just like, oh, I have to get out of here right now. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's stop documenting this and leave right now. [SPEAKER_01]: Humanity going back before he met them, he met him, he met him, he didn't counter them. [SPEAKER_01]: And they encountered them via probes and scout teams. [SPEAKER_01]: And every single probe or scout sent into the area instantly died. [SPEAKER_01]: There was a Cypher just where like, nope, this is gone now. [SPEAKER_01]: Later, the death specters who were a successor chapter of the Raven Guard, great name, by the way, just great name. [SPEAKER_01]: We're sent out there to, you know, to basically get control of it and kill these guys off. [SPEAKER_01]: Once they encounter them, the Despectors realized that they have to kill off all the side-door themes, and they achieved none of that. [SPEAKER_01]: They couldn't kill them. [SPEAKER_04]: This is a big thing on this, because I think that every time anybody encounters a side-door theme, [SPEAKER_04]: I think this is just a brand theory on this one. [SPEAKER_04]: They're so advanced that these are all just like when in the predator movies when they send one out to see stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: That's what I think's happening when these little smatterings, because they always just they have crazy, wildly advanced technology. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, but they in the only internet. [SPEAKER_01]: And so that was a problem. [SPEAKER_01]: So that when it's happening with the death spectators, is that every time they would attack a scythor world, they would get there and they'd find it completely abandoned. [SPEAKER_01]: So they'd say, oh, cool, we won. [SPEAKER_01]: Then they would leave. [SPEAKER_01]: And like, [SPEAKER_01]: the minute they leave, the Cytheras reappear on the planet. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: And they kind of were like eventually they went and they just happened over and over and over again till they eventually went screw this and they just built a perimeter around the Cythera worlds to prevent. [SPEAKER_01]: They just like look, we're just going to control them where they are. [SPEAKER_01]: And it just gets left that way until M. Forty one. [SPEAKER_01]: So current. [SPEAKER_01]: Forty. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: This is forever. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Ten thousand. [SPEAKER_01]: Like not ten thousand years. [SPEAKER_01]: But five, six thousand years. [SPEAKER_01]: Hellbreak in the Black Dem Templars to side. [SPEAKER_01]: We're in your conquer the ghoul stars. [SPEAKER_01]: And they just throw everything they have at it. [SPEAKER_01]: same problem. [SPEAKER_01]: Every time they arrive on a cythor world, it's completely vacant. [SPEAKER_01]: And well, also, and as soon as they leave, if anybody stays behind, night night, lots of death. [SPEAKER_01]: So these worlds have this in theory been colonized since and no cythor has been seen until Yada's Drake ran into one on the blackstone fortress. [SPEAKER_01]: Fun story on that, Yana goes back to, because he actually has, I shouldn't mention where he has elder archives on his ship. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of them, yeah, and an elder with him. [SPEAKER_01]: He didn't find one elder book. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got, yes, not black library, but he's got a lot of stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: And according to this, he discovers the elder of none of the cythor forever, as usual, and they're incredibly advanced. [SPEAKER_01]: And no, their point was, they have technology that makes it impossible to exterminate them. [SPEAKER_01]: You're better off just leaving them all. [SPEAKER_04]: It's weird because they I don't know if they're doing Necron style teleportation or whether they the war because they seem like they were psychers. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's no. [SPEAKER_01]: This is why I love this this GW writings. [SPEAKER_01]: They leave so much for you to do like wait. [SPEAKER_01]: Tell me more. [SPEAKER_04]: I keep thinking that they're on these little missions. [SPEAKER_04]: They're like little these [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's tell you what's over here. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they're just like, oh, they're they're coming to do stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll just we'll take off. [SPEAKER_01]: If you guys pull, if if you can, you know, again, yo, ho, ho, if you can find a copy of of the book, the pictures this side of these pretty cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, it's sketchy. [SPEAKER_01]: It's scary actually. [SPEAKER_04]: It's scary. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's do another one that was another Horace Heresy, Alien, the Breaksheet, the Breaksheet, they are an insect species with stabbing appendages and big sharp teeth. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, it's going to come up over and over again. [SPEAKER_01]: The is that the entire galaxy is made up of humans, things that kind of look like humans, and things with sharp teeth and pointy claws. [SPEAKER_01]: That's mostly galaxy. [SPEAKER_04]: However, I think is there any time anybody's been underestimated to worst consequences though? [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, the brec sheet, this didn't go great. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, the eppearium thinks this is just a semi-sentient race of bugs that's running at us and we shoot them in the head and that's it. [SPEAKER_04]: And that was not the case. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the breaks they actually, they're kind of almost a pre-tearing it. [SPEAKER_01]: They had a, they had a high mind that they would be able to work out of. [SPEAKER_01]: But with anything, they also had a really strange sensory organ that they killed and they'd see this. [SPEAKER_01]: And the impure him could never figure this out. [SPEAKER_01]: But they figured out the hard way. [SPEAKER_01]: This sensory organ for whatever reason gave them the ability to intercept box commands. [SPEAKER_04]: And because they were high-bind and they got immediate commands to everyone, the Imperial Guard would give orders out and they would immediately go to wherever the orders you were. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, this is a, basically, that was an open fire and the breaks you would drop. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: On the word, on the, on the F and fire. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're just gone. [SPEAKER_01]: They, they wrecked. [SPEAKER_01]: the Imperium out here. [SPEAKER_01]: They also had a really cool weapon called a synaptic leash, or I thought a synaptic lash, which was just an energy attack that could damage the brain, specifically the cerebral of the opponent, aka Brad. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess gives you a stroke. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what this does. [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't happy about it. [SPEAKER_01]: How that one feel? [SPEAKER_01]: Good. [SPEAKER_03]: Not great. [SPEAKER_03]: So you're right now for me. [SPEAKER_03]: Zero out of ten wouldn't recommend. [SPEAKER_01]: One star. [SPEAKER_01]: One star. [SPEAKER_01]: Who's giving it a star? [SPEAKER_01]: Because there's nothing below that. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why you have the basis one. [SPEAKER_01]: We have to give me a for effort. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: One thing I love about this, this anaptic lash was it's so powerful that they were fighting the iron hands and the lash hit a rhino. [SPEAKER_01]: The servider in the rhino turned on the iron hands and began fighting the iron hands with their own rhino. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, they weren't expecting it. [SPEAKER_04]: No, no one's expecting to be run over by their choice by your own tank. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so the Imperium after some losses decide that this needs to stop and they send a Raven guard in the night lords out, which again, actually a worst combo to have to fight against his space wolves in night lords is night lords in Raven guard. [SPEAKER_01]: Unless you're fighting in a place with lots of sunlight, then you're probably okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So, they actually successfully kill the brink she, or did they? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they thought so. [SPEAKER_01]: A few thousand years later, the entire populace of a planet is just dead, because the brink she just, I think the rapper wrote to be honest with you. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm most likely. [SPEAKER_01]: This time, they had to send the iron hands in. [SPEAKER_01]: And what I love about this is the iron hands coming. [SPEAKER_01]: They're like, all right, watch this night, the Raven Garden night lords and Imperial Guard. [SPEAKER_01]: Hold my beer while I would kick some ass fast forward a little bit later. [SPEAKER_01]: And the iron hands leave. [SPEAKER_04]: They did except for the fact that they found out that they [SPEAKER_04]: effectively burrowed to the core of the planet. [SPEAKER_01]: And they didn't have, and this is so far down, the Breaksheep Barrowing, so far subterranean that the imprimmed didn't have weapons outside of cracking the planet in half. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Iron Hands just say, all right, we'll just put up a, do not go here, sign, and, and cyclists. [SPEAKER_01]: So I want to point out the Breaksheep defeated the Iron Hands, the nightlords, the Raven Guard, and quite a few guard regiments. [SPEAKER_01]: They're technically still alive. [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever that play, you know, LV-four, twenty-eight. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't go to LV-four, twenty-eight. [SPEAKER_04]: And they're just sitting there going, I hear no bell. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, we actually should spend some time on one of the really cool parts of Forty-K lore. [SPEAKER_01]: If you get away from like the codexes, there's more to the road trader games, uh, sit back. [SPEAKER_01]: What's the space battle game called that they ran for a while? [SPEAKER_01]: Space? [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, the one where you actually had, like, Imperial space. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Natalie, Natalie got the, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Good beginning, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: So there are a ton of random, like, bipedal and itch races all throughout the galaxy that have no real, so many of them. [SPEAKER_01]: You have no, no real backstory. [SPEAKER_01]: And they just, these, these, these, races were the pierced suddenly in either a story or a game, usually as mercenaries or as, as pirates, etc. [SPEAKER_01]: More so in the first of fourth editions of the game because the GW was still really the point building the universe and they were leaning in my mind more like a D&D setting where you had settlements and planets before they because today they're all controlled by a single race but in the early editions of the game there were like between planets or space stations that were open to more races. [SPEAKER_04]: They also hadn't seen you. [SPEAKER_04]: They could play different things. [SPEAKER_04]: They had background. [SPEAKER_04]: They had more background races. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: You would have playable races. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: You'd have a lot of settings in the game that I would compare it to the Cantina on Mossicely. [SPEAKER_01]: Either way, just it would be that random. [SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of these races would just fit in there. [SPEAKER_01]: But they fit in with a small purpose. [SPEAKER_01]: You'd have some with multiple arms and eyes that was the pilot. [SPEAKER_01]: You had some big hooking Zeno that would be there for boarding actions. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, Snipers, extra-fast guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's not hard to imagine this is kind of like a copy of any sci-fi movie book or comic, but not like the crappy IP violation sense, but in like the, yeah, that's how it would work. [SPEAKER_01]: If we had a galaxy, full of Zeno's, full of races, they all would like to not die. [SPEAKER_01]: They're working together wherever they can to form little parties and try and get rich. [SPEAKER_01]: Ooh. [SPEAKER_01]: We should totally do a cast on space pirates. [SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you actually know that that that lore? [SPEAKER_01]: A bit. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Anything that has pirates on the end of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Come on. [SPEAKER_01]: That's probably true. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We should do it. [SPEAKER_01]: So we'll dive more into them. [SPEAKER_01]: But just to give you guys the examples of some of these. [SPEAKER_01]: The crude are a good example of this. [SPEAKER_01]: The Carcadashians. [SPEAKER_01]: The garlic. [SPEAKER_01]: There's tons of these. [SPEAKER_01]: You can look them up and you or you'll even just encounter them reading a random novel where someone will be talking about, oh, and there's a Carcadashian on the [SPEAKER_04]: They do randomly, they do that. [SPEAKER_04]: Do they, how not they do it as much? [SPEAKER_04]: They, they used to, they really used to it. [SPEAKER_04]: It was really, they would casually drop a name of a race. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: And I liked it because they never gave anything. [SPEAKER_04]: I liked the fact that they left. [SPEAKER_01]: Of course you know about Jaga Burger Burgers. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: The what? [SPEAKER_04]: Like, you know, they always do this and you're like, who the hell are you talking about? [SPEAKER_01]: And Star Wars does that pretty well to a point star trek that it really well. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's where it comes from. [SPEAKER_01]: I just think it's a great way to have a fun setting in the game. [SPEAKER_01]: Mass Effect series did this really well. [SPEAKER_01]: It's always, every time someone does this, I enjoy it. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna always support it. [SPEAKER_01]: I love Mass Effect so much. [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone, how can you not? [SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, that's some of some of that that you shouldn't enjoy. [SPEAKER_01]: Hamakilai vampires. [SPEAKER_01]: Can't cut. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll be covering these guys. [SPEAKER_01]: These did have rules. [SPEAKER_01]: These guys are bad bad news. [SPEAKER_01]: I like this story. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's funny. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, the homoculus, the homoculus do crazy evil shit. [SPEAKER_04]: And in their creations, they are trying to make you faster, stronger, better, more resilient. [SPEAKER_04]: But also, they just do things to do things. [SPEAKER_01]: And they get bored. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, hey, I wonder what this happened. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, because it would be human sense of pain. [SPEAKER_01]: It's about the homoculus. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I appreciate having to see in the movie. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, as most of the things I haven't seen, but another one, I'm not giving ground of, oh, you really should have seen human sense of pain. [SPEAKER_01]: You missed out on a lot, John, by not catching out on this one. [SPEAKER_04]: If you've seen the ad, you've seen as much as you can. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's worth good. [SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, the monkey lie when they're bored, just make monsters and release them into the galaxy to see what'll happen. [SPEAKER_01]: They made vampires. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a hybrid, it's a hybrid of God knows what. [SPEAKER_01]: And they made us so they could stalk from the shadows. [SPEAKER_01]: And when they find their victim, they just they dream their blood. [SPEAKER_01]: But now like with not like the vampire with things, I think it sounds that they actually have vials. [SPEAKER_01]: They carry with them. [SPEAKER_01]: And they suck the blood out. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they inject themselves with that blood. [SPEAKER_04]: So make sure they're supposed to have a bandelier of [SPEAKER_01]: Bloodbiles and that's what they they wander around with GW had watched when we played for them. [SPEAKER_04]: Also they apparently took the blood to juice up four fights. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're just taking D&D potions. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I see. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you could just wander into that right randomly. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: The next one we're gonna do is the chariotids. [SPEAKER_01]: Amanda. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is not the these are from Necromanda. [SPEAKER_01]: Necramonda is an amazing setting in the Forty Kay universe. [SPEAKER_01]: If you like what we're describing here, if you find this interesting, the best game for this in the current setting is Necramonda. [SPEAKER_04]: It's also really fast and it's nice. [SPEAKER_04]: If you're a role-playing type person, you can get a little bit of your juice on. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a miniature game and you level up and you do things also. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so what ends up happening in necramundas, the game takes place, you know, in the underhives of the high-world necramundas, which I believe is the largest, the high-world, in the end of the period. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, what happens in all these high-worlds is you do get Xeno races who are trying to effectively flee from the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: And the best place to hide from the imperium actually is inside the imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: So they go to the high worlds and they go to the under hives of the high worlds. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the imperium isn't going to bother going down there for the most part and you can survive, which is kind of a weird way to do it, but it's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: The necramunda itself is full of what is really cool and interesting, interesting ones. [SPEAKER_01]: One of them is the chariotids. [SPEAKER_01]: They're just kind of funny looking. [SPEAKER_01]: They are a charib. [SPEAKER_04]: It's watchers in the dark, but cooler. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, more than the way cooler. [SPEAKER_01]: They're built like a charib, so a little naked baby, but they're blue, and they have wings, and their wings are covered in erudic tattoos. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they also get a mohawk sometimes. [SPEAKER_01]: But they look crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: They look crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: You can look at that. [SPEAKER_01]: You can buy these. [SPEAKER_01]: But their power is really funny. [SPEAKER_01]: So their psychers with a really weird form of precognition, they're able to sense when someone is about to rise to power. [SPEAKER_01]: Someone who's destined for greatness. [SPEAKER_04]: But also, I think this is one of those things where people know that this is a thing. [SPEAKER_04]: So one of the chair-ups starts hanging out. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's a self-fulfilling problem. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's a butterfly effect that can happen here. [SPEAKER_01]: But it is funny. [SPEAKER_01]: So what they'll do is, if you're an upstart leader in one of the gangs and all of a sudden, the choreo theater or a couple, and sort of hanging around you, it's viewed as massively good luck. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you have this, everyone around you will do one of two things. [SPEAKER_01]: They'll either fall in line behind you to kind of ride the wave or they'll try to kill you before you can ride the wave. [SPEAKER_03]: Good bad. [SPEAKER_01]: Hard bad. [SPEAKER_01]: However, it also gets worse. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're, you know, riding high on the hog and doing great, and your car that hits suddenly just leaves, you instant dive. [SPEAKER_01]: You were dead. [SPEAKER_01]: Look, that's that. [SPEAKER_01]: No one's selling you insurance is what's going to happen here. [SPEAKER_01]: What's fun about them is that while they're with you, they do help you out. [SPEAKER_01]: They, they, they are our psychers and they can actually sense [SPEAKER_01]: truth for lack of a better phrase, and they can sense when someone around you, if you have them, if they're the ones following you, wish to do you harm. [SPEAKER_04]: And if you know if it's just truth, though, because the only do is save, if somebody has any ill intent to basically. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And so it prevents you being backstabbed, which is nice in a place like the Necroman. [SPEAKER_04]: When who's trying to backstabbed, you're like, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So I like the cariotids, really cool model because I just want to own something funny and weird to have in the shelf. [SPEAKER_01]: Go for it. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we haven't done the chaos worshipers yet. [SPEAKER_01]: The growl. [SPEAKER_01]: So the growl are a Zeno species that are adamant chaos worshipers. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, talk about people that went all in. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, chaos went. [SPEAKER_04]: We have the like now we're good. [SPEAKER_04]: We use all my chips. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the the growl are big fans and their chaos undevited. [SPEAKER_01]: So, obviously, once discovered the Imperium went, yeah, those have to die today. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, CEOs and can't sort of show theirs. [SPEAKER_01]: So they sent the death watch out to eradicate them. [SPEAKER_01]: And for the most part, this death watch, the fortress that went out there was successful. [SPEAKER_01]: They eradicated all but a few of the growth. [SPEAKER_01]: The Grello, as they were dying, reached out via the warp and made contact to their dark gods with the nightlords. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a nightlord chaos lord, which is always sounds weird to say, by the way, it's my only issue with nightlords is the nightlord chaos lord sounds silly. [SPEAKER_01]: Finds out about this, and vows vengeance, and he and basically all of the nightlords attack a death watch for a dress, kill everyone, cut it and cut it all their eyes. [SPEAKER_01]: which is very specific, very specific, but very, the thing is, they did that and I'm like, did they do that as a ritual to the dark gods? [SPEAKER_01]: Or did they do it because they're nightlords? [SPEAKER_03]: I guess he's fifty. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, nightlords are kind of digs. [SPEAKER_04]: But I mean, good books was just listening to them last night to go to sleep. [SPEAKER_04]: I was listening to the audio books from that. [SPEAKER_01]: The one where they lock up all the children and murder all of them, that one. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: You guys like nightlords. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm kind of like, I'm not a fan. [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't say it was a fan of the nightlords. [SPEAKER_04]: I said it's a good book. [SPEAKER_04]: They're bad people. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: They started off being bad people. [SPEAKER_01]: And they could. [SPEAKER_04]: And they could be bad with it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Here's a fun one. [SPEAKER_01]: They actually got retconned pretty well. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, damn it. [SPEAKER_01]: Listen, but this, this wreck, but okay. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a retcon here, but it's not a bad one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's about my people, though. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, which, which version? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's true. [SPEAKER_02]: We're not talking about Toledo, don't worry. [SPEAKER_01]: The Demirgue were a very minor Xenorias in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: Then they come from battle fleet Gothic primarily. [SPEAKER_01]: That's where this is originally started from. [SPEAKER_01]: So during the Great Crusade, the Imperium is they keep learning about this nomadic group of incredibly advanced traders out in the far right of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: Their ships are highly advanced and so was their weaponry. [SPEAKER_01]: And these were big ships to say they're huge. [SPEAKER_04]: But all ships were funny though, because while being ships of war, all of them were still trade ships. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they were just they they'd show up with this. [SPEAKER_04]: huge fortress flying fortress, basically. [SPEAKER_04]: Then go, hey, everyone got some to blooms. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're selling stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, I thought we were going to get killed. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it just turns into Mara cash. [SPEAKER_01]: All of a sudden, you're like, why, how would you stop? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Did you just sit up a market? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But they were also minors. [SPEAKER_01]: And so what they would do is they would travel around the right side of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: And they were just mining asteroids, cracking plants, whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: and just training. [SPEAKER_01]: You're about to figure out what happened to them. [SPEAKER_01]: So in appearance, they were described as being short and heavily built, like a dwarf, a space dwarf. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they were, and again, and they were minors. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I do like the first major interaction was with the Tao and the Navy Imperium not like them because they were trading with the Tao. [SPEAKER_01]: This leads the Imperium to mark them as enemies of the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: That being said, being marked as an enemy of the Imperium, when you're on the far fringe of the galaxy, means absolutely nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: Because all of the road traders are what else out there was like, so these guys are enemies of the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: Whether they'll trade with anybody. [SPEAKER_01]: So they'll trade with me. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: What do they have to trade? [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing, nothing cool, just incredibly advanced technology. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, definitely going to steer clear. [SPEAKER_04]: Totally going to shoot every one of them. [SPEAKER_04]: I see if I was going to steer clear of them. [SPEAKER_01]: Where would I not want to go best what what's the best place to steer clear off so that I would definitely steer clear of the guys with the incredible technology I could that will totally trade with me. [SPEAKER_01]: Later, though, in more recent, like, two years ago, that Demir got retcon sort of, it was just revealed that they were truly the League of Votem. [SPEAKER_01]: So, is why it is that they're part of the League of Votem. [SPEAKER_01]: And Brad's upset on Squawks. [SPEAKER_04]: I still have a space door box with your favorite, the Trike. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, with a dude in a motor, a short dude in a motorcycle. [SPEAKER_01]: I know how much, I know why you love this as much as you do. [SPEAKER_01]: It's guess they're awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to I want to drive a truck with a las can and on it Yeah, you know easy it would be to get through traffic and not well. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a truck It's got it's got it's got through you're just as wide as can. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that parts there. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, he just as wide as a car doesn't it doesn't really do you any good as can it does glass going to help glass going with help will be right back after a quick break [SPEAKER_01]: Next, we're going to do the Rackool, which is spelled RAKGOL, as opposed to RAKGHOL, which is the Rackool of the GameCotor. [SPEAKER_03]: Things didn't go well for them. [SPEAKER_01]: That's, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, only relation, I just, when I, the first time I saw it, I was like, wait, that's in the Star Wars, but they, they have no, no relation other than, and I actually don't even know which one came out first. [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know who stole the idea from you. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to go first. [SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, the Forty K Rackel are just pirates. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what they are. [SPEAKER_04]: But they're really, really violent, sketchy pirates. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: pirates what you think this is but what I tell the pirates you're aware that they're the running around planting trees. [SPEAKER_04]: They're not even living by the pirates. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like you are we we're gonna land here and improve the improvement. [SPEAKER_01]: The pirates have just going around the ocean picking up plastic pirates. [SPEAKER_04]: These guys are pretty violent. [SPEAKER_01]: These guys are horrifying. [SPEAKER_01]: The Rackles are six limbs. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a centaur. [SPEAKER_01]: Four on the bottom, you know, two on the top. [SPEAKER_01]: And when you first see the image of them, they look a look an awful lot like tyrannids. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's, they're not though. [SPEAKER_01]: It has to do it just a picture that in the GW book. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a reptilian race naturally. [SPEAKER_01]: But they've mastered the art of cybernetics and biotic augmentation. [SPEAKER_01]: And so as they commit more and more piracy and get wealth and power, they spend it on themselves to make themselves, you know, bigger, stronger, faster, and tougher. [SPEAKER_01]: So one big one they do is they actually implant ceramic plates on their bodies, which gives them the look of a tiered warrior from being honest, pretty badly. [SPEAKER_04]: These guys, they're by me of chatter on cyber zombies and stuff, because they have so much, as they get more and the higher you get up, the less [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, literally. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, they become ad-mecky. [SPEAKER_01]: The further further and further you get, they put it in respiratory systems so they can fight in space, enhance division for low light fighting, et cetera, et cetera. [SPEAKER_01]: And to perhaps, when they're exceptionally violent, if they just, they lie and wait and they just attack. [SPEAKER_01]: There is, there's only way you ever encounter raccoon is combat, either they snuck up on you or you ran into them and they both times they attack. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't produce anything. [SPEAKER_01]: They just raid. [SPEAKER_01]: They have, and what's tough for the Imperium is they have no homeworld. [SPEAKER_01]: They're truly nomadic and they're nomadic pirates. [SPEAKER_01]: And so this creates a challenge for the Imperium because they can't really exterminate them. [SPEAKER_01]: What makes it really bad for the citizens of the Imperium is the wrackle, despite their incredible violence, and all these things, they're not really much of a threat to the Imperium as a whole. [SPEAKER_04]: So nobody cares. [SPEAKER_04]: You'd have to put real resources and tell them to [SPEAKER_04]: go into this area of the galaxy and start trying to weed them out. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because the issue is that they're technologically advanced, but not that advanced. [SPEAKER_01]: Like their ships can take down, you know, merchant vessels, but they can't take down imperial transports. [SPEAKER_01]: So they don't really affect the day-to-day of the imperium, which means that if you're just an imperial citizen or a rogue trader or one of those, you get right. [SPEAKER_01]: These guys are coming right after you and no one really gives a crap about it. [SPEAKER_01]: So they still exist, and they're just kind of sitting out on the edge of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_04]: How do you, you have to feel weird about that? [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, I'm so powerful in a threat, but not enough of a threat than anybody gives a shit. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's like the, I own this part of the galaxy, just, you know, I'm just, but I can't cross thirty-fifth streaks, but cross thirty-fifth streaks. [SPEAKER_01]: I get my ass kicked. [SPEAKER_04]: I can show this part of the galaxy, unless I say it to somebody that's actually in power and listening, they will just come here and beat the crap out of me. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: So, but I'm awesome, but don't tell anybody. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't tell anybody. [SPEAKER_01]: Definitely got the experience. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's, you know, shit, shit, shit, shit. [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm still awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Another one I like, just here's a super random one, the Carnot Plasm. [SPEAKER_01]: We know almost nothing about this. [SPEAKER_01]: because the only hint of their existence is present. [SPEAKER_01]: They so much as mildly appear, the appearing throws a full X thermonatus at them. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a weird thing. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a space-faring race, and they all look forward to kind of unprotected worlds to invade. [SPEAKER_01]: Once they do that, they descend on the populace, and like a spider, they then cocoon the living beings there, liquefy their bodies, and drink them. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're spiders. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the only evidence that they'd even been on a world issue is a world goes dark when you arrive. [SPEAKER_01]: There's just little scraps of tissue all around because then they bail out. [SPEAKER_01]: If the Imperium discovers them, they will just exterminate us to play it. [SPEAKER_01]: It is they don't mess with these things. [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely gone, go away. [SPEAKER_04]: Yep, yep, they're on the, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no [SPEAKER_01]: So at the end of mine court, they were a, we don't really know what they look like, but the end of mine wanted to make friendly relationships with humanity. [SPEAKER_01]: And so their thought was, all right, what if we just trade with humanity and show them how awesome we are? [SPEAKER_01]: And the humanity might, okay, well, what do you got? [SPEAKER_01]: And the end of mine go, well, you guys have a real issue with chaos, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And very much. [SPEAKER_01]: No, we may be. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Who's asking? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: We've never heard about. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Also, what do you have and where is it? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Who's asking? [SPEAKER_01]: And so the end of mind shared with humanity, these really special anti-demon technology that just rips apart work beings. [SPEAKER_01]: And they handed it over to humanity. [SPEAKER_01]: Maddie took a look at it and the appearance of this is pretty cool. [SPEAKER_01]: And they reversed engineered it. [SPEAKER_01]: And said, thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: And sent three death watch fortresses in there to exterminate them. [SPEAKER_02]: So you didn't move. [SPEAKER_01]: They wouldn't exist at all anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, just in case it was a trap. [SPEAKER_04]: They also took all their stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: They made it a point to not blow up them up. [SPEAKER_04]: They killed everybody and they were like, you had to leave some of the stuff there because we want to loot all. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Like, hey, man, don't you disintegrate. [SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't be able to loot the bodies. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just make sure, you know, center mask guys, center mask. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to center mask. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, now let's talk about a real, this law. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, these guys are so OP though. [SPEAKER_01]: This is crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: This law are amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: So this law are one of a couple boogey men in the galaxy of forty. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that she does is written in. [SPEAKER_01]: They are wild. [SPEAKER_01]: So we don't, the comparing cannot figure out. [SPEAKER_01]: how old they are, because they look like they may even predate the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: Every single time they find a reference to them, they then find a reference to them, it'd be even older and older. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no origin for them, the best the inquisition can point to is that they actually live in dark space. [SPEAKER_01]: They're just straight awful demons. [SPEAKER_01]: That's pure. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, they're not demons. [SPEAKER_04]: I know, but I'm saying, this is what you summon and indeed this would show. [SPEAKER_01]: Indeed, they're a demon. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're close to three meters high, but they don't have a normal form because they don't have their made up of thousands of maggot-like worms. [SPEAKER_01]: They're just wiggling around, covered like a mucous layer. [SPEAKER_01]: which makes them kind of hard to kill because you're going to shoot a hole through the worm and they reivore those other vile. [SPEAKER_01]: They're effectively immune to a traditional weaponry. [SPEAKER_04]: That's the biggest thing. [SPEAKER_04]: It's not you can put fire on your own. [SPEAKER_04]: the immagity worms in starrigenerate like in starrigenerate. [SPEAKER_01]: They've had bultures like hit center mass explode and just reforms like the T one thousand. [SPEAKER_04]: Also super not great way to die. [SPEAKER_04]: Here's the thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't uh, John, you shouldn't pull any digits on these guys. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So their, their touch is necrotic. [SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's Larry talk. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a combination of toxins, acids, and bacteria are all being true, but them at all times. [SPEAKER_01]: So with they just touch you, you will melt and die to their touch. [SPEAKER_01]: And it doesn't seem great. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, again, you might think, well, okay, we'll just tell the situation. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see a distance and shoot at them. [SPEAKER_01]: Nope, they can move through the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, without the work. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just individually, not a ship. [SPEAKER_01]: They just kind of actually like the Eldar. [SPEAKER_01]: They just stepped through a portal that no one can figure out where comes from and appear. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, we forgot to mention the shitty part. [SPEAKER_04]: They also want to feed off dead things. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but doing that. [SPEAKER_01]: And they want you. [SPEAKER_01]: to be dead. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, now just dead. [SPEAKER_01]: It gets worse. [SPEAKER_01]: So their focus on in the world is to feed, like you know, any living being, but their favorite thing to eat is decayed flesh, the more decayed the better. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's why they're weird touch exists. [SPEAKER_01]: When something's dead, they'll then put their hand over it to make it faster and it just means [SPEAKER_01]: They would do so much, then eating a plague marine would give them so much happiness. [SPEAKER_01]: Just forever. [SPEAKER_01]: Because that's what they want to eat. [SPEAKER_01]: The thing about this law, though, is in order to survive as long as they have, it's because they are incredibly intelligent. [SPEAKER_01]: Because technologically, they're not that advanced. [SPEAKER_01]: They themselves are, but that's it. [SPEAKER_01]: Why the slob become the boogie man of the galaxy is because of how they operate within the galaxy, which is masterful manipulation. [SPEAKER_04]: But here's my thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Who? [SPEAKER_04]: Because they do. [SPEAKER_04]: This is fully in the books. [SPEAKER_04]: work with criminal syndicates crime-lord's pirates. [SPEAKER_04]: Who's trading with the nine foot tall, maggot worm pile? [SPEAKER_04]: What? [SPEAKER_04]: What? [SPEAKER_04]: What? [SPEAKER_04]: Criminal anthropra? [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, would you come to me like listen up, Brad? [SPEAKER_04]: I've got this cool deal with that pile of evil worms that's destroying everything he touches. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: He says he's got a great deal for us. [SPEAKER_04]: I'd be like, no. [SPEAKER_01]: So much now. [SPEAKER_01]: But then he pulls out like the greatest guns that have ever existed and allowed you to kill all of your rivals. [SPEAKER_01]: Because that's why, okay, I love, I love this law. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love them because of the way they, the whole idea behind them is that they, their masters at manipulate manipulation by praying on people's primarily humans, but any races, desires for like more for wealth and power. [SPEAKER_01]: It's all great. [SPEAKER_01]: So what the one thing they do a lot is they'll trade with these tremor, the cremorphizations they do have access to incredible technology. [SPEAKER_01]: and they keep giving them a little bit more and a little bit more to see if the criminal organization can grow in power. [SPEAKER_01]: What they'll do then is what's criminal organization has grown to enough power. [SPEAKER_01]: The slob was obviously till the leader and take over. [SPEAKER_04]: And it happens every time. [SPEAKER_01]: But not to take over to be now, I'm the now I'm Kingpin. [SPEAKER_01]: No, they then take the criminal organization, they use them. [SPEAKER_01]: to create a massive civil war or other type of conflict, which that, and the appearing has numerous records of this, by the way, all they really want to do is create a giant planet of death, so they can call in the rest of the slaughter, come down and eat the... [SPEAKER_01]: They're not cool dudes. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a big fan. [SPEAKER_01]: The other trick that they'll do that they take joy of is they'll trade with a bunch of different pirates or something in one area and they'll every time they trade with them they let them all know that there's always a little bit more there's a better version than what they just trade them always a bit more but it has to do a bit more for it and they do this to create competition and again to create conflict. [SPEAKER_01]: their goal is to get all the little pirate organizations to kill each other, so that they can again go figure. [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know if you guys have seen the foreshad, right? [SPEAKER_04]: But every time they start one of these wars, after it all goes down, the slob, kill whoever's lost. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, one of the greatest examples of the slob with this though is the raggedan genocides that we talked about during our dark angel's chemists. [SPEAKER_01]: The slob were behind the raggedan. [SPEAKER_01]: The raggedan [SPEAKER_01]: Suddenly, pushed into Imperial space, if you remember, the original raggedant. [SPEAKER_01]: It turns out, later on, the pair overhead showed, the flaw had actually been behind all of this. [SPEAKER_01]: They'd been the ones pushing this. [SPEAKER_01]: If you want to understand how much a death there was as a result of this, the raggedant decides to happen three times. [SPEAKER_01]: It almost wiped out the dark angels. [SPEAKER_01]: Lord knows how many ragdags are supposed to plus their slaves. [SPEAKER_01]: All the chapters are really right. [SPEAKER_01]: Plus all the ragdags lay the stairs. [SPEAKER_01]: This was a feast for the centuries, literally, for the Slaw. [SPEAKER_01]: Now the only bit of good news around the Slaw is that they are terrified of the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: and because the imperium massively out numbers them and does possess technology to kill them. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do great to Melta. [SPEAKER_01]: I think the flameers should probably be the best way. [SPEAKER_01]: The flameers, but Melta would also work this way. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, what do you make of endless, negative worms? [SPEAKER_01]: And they regenerate. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: What if I make you not existing? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's hard for me to regenerate. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Sisters. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be a lot of flavors and all of the comments. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: So to that, we're to that end. [SPEAKER_01]: The Slaw really, they only live in the shadows and work from the shadows. [SPEAKER_01]: If they feel the appearance bearing down. [SPEAKER_04]: They don't tell you how many there is to. [SPEAKER_01]: But there's not that many of them. [SPEAKER_01]: So if anyone's making a D&D style, Forty K campaign, the Slaw are really good, but good feelings. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, really, really good. [SPEAKER_01]: Behind the scenes, there'll be great. [SPEAKER_01]: And especially because they'll always escape. [SPEAKER_01]: In the end, they'll always tell a port off. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's do the kind of random one from Battlefleet Gothic and Dark Harris, which leads to two games. [SPEAKER_01]: GW had some cool games in the early zeroes, so they were trying to figure out, figure themselves out. [SPEAKER_01]: So the fall, [SPEAKER_01]: the frowl, frowl, frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frowl frow [SPEAKER_01]: and they work out this segment to obscure us, which spoiler alert is hard to see into. [SPEAKER_01]: and the actually the inquisition knows quite a bit about them. [SPEAKER_01]: The reason why we don't know is that they have a bunch of planets. [SPEAKER_01]: Are they no-mads? [SPEAKER_01]: Are they pirates? [SPEAKER_01]: It's because there is this incredibly aggressive race that instantly destroys any foreign ships that enter their space. [SPEAKER_01]: And the inquisition doesn't want anyone to know about them. [SPEAKER_01]: Partly because they're not sure what their real motivations are. [SPEAKER_04]: kind of don't know how many there are what they can do either. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so one thing we know about the fall is that they will occasionally venture out of the segment to obscure us and they'll trade, but only with rogue traders or pirates. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is because they offer lots and lots of technology in what they want back is human slaves. [SPEAKER_01]: They never say what it's for, but I don't think it's because they don't like the slave trade and they're trying to read them. [SPEAKER_04]: I think that probably the slaves [SPEAKER_04]: are not going to be in good cans. [SPEAKER_04]: I think they're probably going to have a ban. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's all I'm saying. [SPEAKER_01]: The challenge for the inquisition is that the frall are incredibly technologically advanced. [SPEAKER_01]: Like they've got a knife that they, for example, that can stab through serimite. [SPEAKER_01]: Their ship cannons actually will overload shields and break apart holes. [SPEAKER_01]: It is terrifying the weaponry and the English doesn't want to deal with them. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're just they're kind of [SPEAKER_01]: No talkie talkie about the frown. [SPEAKER_01]: Seems to be the acquisitions overall viewpoint. [SPEAKER_01]: The interesting thing is when you read about them, they do appear to have a lot of similarities to Elder. [SPEAKER_01]: Their technology is [SPEAKER_01]: not that far off from Eldar Tech. [SPEAKER_01]: The way that they operate, it's in the hasmons, a lot of psychic powers. [SPEAKER_01]: It's possible the frail or an offshoot from it. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll do it. [SPEAKER_04]: I a hundred percent think they're an offshoot. [SPEAKER_04]: We've had sixty five million years plenty of time for this to be a complete offshoot race. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's do a couple more. [SPEAKER_01]: Sort of the hell grumite, hell grummit, hell grummit, whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody's gonna read this and then go they these guys don't want to read because we miss pronounced so many things. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's me this is sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the problem is I'm my knowledge of everything we're talking about here is me reading it. [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know the pronunciation. [SPEAKER_01]: They're not in almost any audio books. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm even aware of so I have to make up the presentation. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Lana rifts, which is in the upper right of the galaxy, the again. [SPEAKER_01]: Helgramites are incredibly hostile race. [SPEAKER_01]: Imperium made contact with them and merely afterwards said that Imperial force to go to the store. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, our usual diplomatic awesomeness. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And so there was a gap there that Helgramites turns out have pretty powerful weapons and destroyed the entire Imperial force that was said after them. [SPEAKER_01]: A few thousand years ago by an Imperium go for round two. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but the round two was a big deal, because they didn't screw around. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, round two is funny. [SPEAKER_01]: So they get to the hellgremit main world, which is covered in a giant forest field. [SPEAKER_01]: And the admec made a new gun for the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: It would blow a hole in it. [SPEAKER_01]: It was so comically ridiculous. [SPEAKER_01]: They just had a ship-sized gun. [SPEAKER_01]: They shoot the gun into the forest field around the hellgremit homeworld. [SPEAKER_01]: blows a hole in the forest field and then goes through the planet breaks the planet. [SPEAKER_04]: I think broke the planet. [SPEAKER_01]: Where the hellgermit matters because like, well, who gives it crap? [SPEAKER_01]: What's fun of the hellgermit is that, you know, some of them did survive. [SPEAKER_01]: These scatter to the stars and join pirate fleets. [SPEAKER_01]: And their hatred, not of the Imperium. [SPEAKER_04]: Not super big fans. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the second day encounter the Imperium, they attack immediately every time. [SPEAKER_01]: Very, very fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Very, very fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you know what? [SPEAKER_01]: Damn it, Tau. [SPEAKER_01]: Fine. [SPEAKER_01]: God damn it, Tau. [SPEAKER_01]: The Nagi. [SPEAKER_01]: The Nagi is a worm creature that's very small and very intelligent. [SPEAKER_01]: And they can mind control things. [SPEAKER_01]: And so what they do is they're able to create entire empires of thralls, and they can rule a planet with these thralls. [SPEAKER_01]: They of course were located not too far from the Tao home world. [SPEAKER_01]: The Tao get there, try to explain the greater good to them, and they disagree. [SPEAKER_01]: But while they're fighting, [SPEAKER_01]: The Nagi discover that the ethereal's. [SPEAKER_01]: And just did the, oh, weird, everybody gets along now. [SPEAKER_01]: Weird. [SPEAKER_01]: So, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, the Nagi have now joined a tile as advisors to the ethereal's. [SPEAKER_01]: Air quotes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It vises. [SPEAKER_01]: Checkasses. [SPEAKER_01]: So the tile made that the ethereal's like, oh, let's just double down in our mind control things. [SPEAKER_01]: Did the psychiatrist warm? [SPEAKER_04]: This is sketch ash. [SPEAKER_01]: This is cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, this psychiatrist worm unfortunately should have just been a standalone book. [SPEAKER_01]: This is this would have made a really good sci-fi horror novel. [SPEAKER_04]: Hundred percent. [SPEAKER_01]: This story on the crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: There's only one of them. [SPEAKER_01]: So I wouldn't have, it's certainly a race. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just a cool story that I wasn't leaving out. [SPEAKER_01]: So there is a derelict ship that just floating in the middle of nowhere and a captain of a ship called the Emperor's Bounty finds it. [SPEAKER_01]: and they loot the ship while going through it. [SPEAKER_01]: There is this brass maggot that he just picks up and assumes the trinket throws in his pocket. [SPEAKER_01]: Which he definitely was one of the guys from any of the new alien movies. [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, no scans, no anything. [SPEAKER_04]: It'll probably be fine. [SPEAKER_04]: Just throw in the backpack. [SPEAKER_04]: What can happen? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: How could this go wrong? [SPEAKER_01]: So while back on his ship moving around, the ship's navigator decides to take a look at this brass maggot. [SPEAKER_01]: The second he gets close to him, or even touches it. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, the second he touches it, the brass magnet becomes a living magnet, jumps on to his face, bites and claws its way into his skull and his brain. [SPEAKER_01]: And uses the navigator as a conduit to the warp to become this insane power and siker. [SPEAKER_01]: immediately runs into the bridge kills everybody and vents all of the atmosphere from most of the ship killing all of the crew. [SPEAKER_04]: This is our campus fall by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Then, uses its psychic powers to reanimate the dead crew, creating a massive army of the undead for it. [SPEAKER_01]: Luckily for the Imperium, the crew, there are still some crew who survive, scuttled the ship, making it just a drift in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: I like that they got to tell no one about. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that no warning signs. [SPEAKER_01]: So there's giant ships missing in the middle of the galaxy and another ship called the sovereign venture. [SPEAKER_01]: So one thing about a large ship going lost in the galaxy is apparently there's a whole like market where you can then purchase salvage rights for missing ship. [SPEAKER_04]: I just this is a huge ship. [SPEAKER_04]: I love that they're not like, hey, they could have got a tag. [SPEAKER_04]: They did everything like, [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: I should loot the ship. [SPEAKER_01]: They just sold all the back on some Rando world. [SPEAKER_01]: They sold off the salvage rights to go find it. [SPEAKER_01]: And the ship, the sovereign venture gains the rights to the Emperor's bounty to go, just salvage it and claim whatever's in it for their own. [SPEAKER_04]: And also just yellow swags the ship. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, let's just go. [SPEAKER_04]: Nothing bad probably happened to that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just a massive ship floating in middle of dark space. [SPEAKER_01]: Engines have been disabled. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's run on board. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's just board it. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so they do so lucky they're wearing a helmet. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so they do they run on board and are just immediately attacked by all the zombies of the worm. [SPEAKER_01]: Now the problem for them is much like on the flight of the eyes and the Stein, you can't kill these zombies because they're undead. [SPEAKER_01]: So you shoot them and they just continue not being dead. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no net change. [SPEAKER_01]: But there's a rogue trader leading this campaign and he, you know, him and his crew run and they find down in the bowels of the ship, some of the surviving crew members who actually scrolled the ship in the first place. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're able to explain to the rogue trader what happened. [SPEAKER_01]: And the rogue trader thinks for a bit and realizes that this being entirely powered by the warp and does something I didn't know you could do. [SPEAKER_01]: turn the galler field up to eleven exactly just goes to go turns the galler fields on because the ships not in the work but turns them all the way up which apparently creates a force field from the warp getting in so that happens all the undead minions fall down as well as the navigator and they run in and they just haven't been melted the navigator with the worm the problem is that [SPEAKER_01]: There's no record of the dead worm. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's quite possible this worm is still floating somewhere in space. [SPEAKER_01]: I like that story a lot, and it's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Alright, let's finish up on one that I'm a hundred and I'm going to miss pronounce. [SPEAKER_01]: The Audente, which is different, which is not an ear-shaped pasta, despite being very similarly pronounced to me, like Orchetti or Detti, it's one of those two. [SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, they're not shaped like an ear. [SPEAKER_01]: They had, they said they have four legs in the torso with like two small appendages just dangling down off them. [SPEAKER_01]: These guys look bananas. [SPEAKER_01]: The best way to explain them is you can find the picture of them. [SPEAKER_01]: They look like a person doing an inverted crab walk where you go, you go upside down, but you're at your hand and your feet in the ground. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how would they, or, or, or at the kind of look. [SPEAKER_01]: And I guess I'm going to pronounce them as an Italian aspect, because it's easier. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they have like an exoskeleton and they carry like low level technology with them. [SPEAKER_01]: That's enough to kind of damage things, but not enough to actually do real like power. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's just, it's an odd. [SPEAKER_04]: They look so crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: They look crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: They're stories so sad though. [SPEAKER_01]: So they already are this like just super happy species that just absorbs conflict and war. [SPEAKER_01]: And they prefer to run away. [SPEAKER_01]: But they were also instinctively trustworthy. [SPEAKER_01]: And the immediate thing when I'm reading this was Galaxy Quest. [SPEAKER_01]: It just came immediately up thinking, it was a TV show. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just incredible power called lie. [SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't seen Galaxy Quest, just turn us off and go watch Galaxy Quest. [SPEAKER_01]: It's better than our guest. [SPEAKER_01]: Why is this here? [SPEAKER_01]: Why is this here? [SPEAKER_01]: There's so many good scenes in that. [SPEAKER_01]: Like the teleporter work, the monsters inside out, and then it exploded. [SPEAKER_01]: Rock monster. [SPEAKER_01]: Rock monster. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm done. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so the already just get wrecked over and over again. [SPEAKER_04]: They keep they lose their they lose their home world because the forty K world is full of doucheys. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and they keep greedy everybody with a big smile and waving one of their weird [SPEAKER_01]: spindly arms that we help us out in my favorite example of this is that there's a rogue trader runs into a bunch of already who say oh we will give you all of our technology and all of our things you build you'll just help us get somewhere in the galaxy to escape persecution as Virgil says yeah no problem and sends them to an area called that there's an anabula nearby this guaranteed death [SPEAKER_01]: That being said, according to Yana Strake, there are rumors that you already have learned their lesson and are now quite well harmed and are not falling. [SPEAKER_01]: That's just waving. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, not falling for bullshit anymore, which also means galaxy quest. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how galaxy quest ends. [SPEAKER_01]: That is true. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't feel like looking up when this was written, but this feels like a pretty good rip off of Galaxy Quest. [SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I support that. [SPEAKER_01]: That's been you. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's break there because we've got more of these to get to. [SPEAKER_01]: Next cast, we're going to contain this random coverage of random Zenos. [SPEAKER_01]: Is there going to be a master technical technician orangutan? [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: What are totally not the old ones, but were the old ones, but might not be the old ones of Slon and just some enslavers? [SPEAKER_01]: Yep, look at all that. [SPEAKER_01]: Plus a bunch more. [SPEAKER_01]: So, till then, this has been John Barsati and Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_01]: This guy. [UNKNOWN]: you
