00:01:24
Speaker 3: How are you doing?

00:01:26
Speaker 5: Yeah? This showroom here, I like to say, is like the Walt Disney World of audio and visual setups.

00:01:32
Speaker 3: We say, you like to say it? Yeah, say that off.

00:01:34
Speaker 5: Unlike on the commercials. I cut forward, all right.

00:01:37
Speaker 3: I got you on the commercials.

00:01:38
Speaker 4: Yeah, I just thought the way you said it, you say it like wherever you go, you don't do that.

00:01:42
Speaker 5: I did casually say that to a couple of friends here, said thanks for coming to Walt Disney World.

00:01:46
Speaker 4: Well, that seems like they enjoyed that. Drew, It's nice to see you this morning.

00:01:50
Speaker 3: I always love this remote as well.

00:01:52
Speaker 4: Yes, we have a big weekend Kats in Auburn tomorrow night seven forty five, A big game my guys at forty sive Solutions. You can't talk in the back, all right. If we're gonna do this show. Y'all go outside if you're gonna talk. I'm glad to be here, but you can't be talking during the show. Shannon and I big game, Kentucky and Auburn have to make sure we get keep the people in football, into the fans, the fan base into it, and get a victory to I feel.

00:02:23
Speaker 2: Good about the game tomorrow. I said this last week before Florida, but I just feel like, you know, Auburn's struggling. They're two and five. This feels like a game that you have to get, especially if you want to be Bowl eligible.

00:02:33
Speaker 4: Well, we're struggling. We're three and four, and it feels like going in the wrong direction. I mean, this is the kind of game.

00:02:38
Speaker 3: Ryan.

00:02:38
Speaker 4: You lose this game, I think you lose the fan base, just in terms of for the rest of the year. I think everybody's already so locked into to basketball the fan base will just stop paying attention. I don't even want to think about what the crowd will be like for Murray State if we lose this game. Like, to me, this is a massive game just in keeping people engaged.

00:02:57
Speaker 5: Honas, Yeah, I think a lot of our football fan base kind of hearing on that right now. So if you lose this one, that means you're O and four in SEC home games. That's not acceptable. I think this program is elevated itself. Well, you should not go winless in your four SEC games this year when three of the four were very very winnable.

00:03:15
Speaker 4: Two and nine in the last eleven SEC home games, which is a really, really bad, bad setting. So we'll talk about that game. Also, you know basketball, everywhere I go, everybody wants to talk about the you know, win by seventy one points.

00:03:31
Speaker 3: That'll end up happening.

00:03:32
Speaker 4: But I did want to bring up one thing we were I was talking with Mario before. Mario was angry this morning, Shan, I haven't seen Mario. I haven't seen Mario be this angry in a long time. He was angry, and it was nice. He was angry because he was taking up for us. You know, we put out that video yesterday of us, really me trying to pick out the fifteen players that used to play at Kentucky that are now playing somewhere else.

00:04:00
Speaker 3: We try to put out that. We put out that video and it.

00:04:02
Speaker 4: Was us, you know, not knowing some of them, me being surprised that some of these people were still in school. Mario was really angry at the people online that kept calling me personally a casual and.

00:04:14
Speaker 3: That's a big insult these days.

00:04:16
Speaker 4: What is it that just means like you don't your life isn't obsessed with Jordan. It's along the same line of being mid okay and then not being a ball nowhere, which like that I don't really know basketball.

00:04:27
Speaker 3: So I'm here to say you're right about both of us.

00:04:33
Speaker 4: I I I don't know anything about sports.

00:04:36
Speaker 3: But that's not why we're standing here, right. We're standing here because we're entertaining. But the ca.

00:04:42
Speaker 4: What was you weren't supposed to laugh at that? Like we were like, it wasn't true. I like them. You're sitting in this chair, sweater vest I know that you at least have.

00:04:51
Speaker 3: To be entertained there.

00:04:52
Speaker 4: You would you left your job to come here today. So but it did occur to me when I saw those comments. Hey, it was nice of Mario to be so angry about it. And if you make.

00:05:02
Speaker 3: Mario mad, you got to be pretty It comes Warrio, Yes, it I like that. It comes to Mario.

00:05:09
Speaker 4: Uh you Also they're right about one thing which I was thinking about the two people I couldn't name were Jordan Burks and Joey Hart, both of which were on the team last.

00:05:18
Speaker 3: Year, and that occurred to me, Rydan.

00:05:21
Speaker 4: Last year was probably the most disconnected I felt from UK basketball personally in a long time, probably since like eighth nine, sort of the last couple of Tubby years. I don't know that I paid a no that was that was Billy oh six oh seven. I was doing the blog, but honestly the team, you know, that was. I loved WU, but some of the it was just hard to get into. I remember Jordan Burk's and Joey Hart, but I realized I really didn't know as much about him. And while I loved read Rob and Antonio, the team as a whole was so frustrating to me, and the situation was so frustrating that I was probably the most disconnected just as a fan that I've been in a while. And I think that whole thing sort of sort of showcased me that like, yes, I remember Jordan.

00:06:10
Speaker 3: Burk's and Joey Hart were on the team, but no, I.

00:06:12
Speaker 4: Didn't really remember anything about him, and that's yeah, for instance, like their faces, that does sort of show. I really had to become disconnected. Do you think other folks have been like that?

00:06:24
Speaker 5: I think a lot of folks been like that, and myself included. I would even start. My disconnection started probably after COVID. It seemed like every year after that. I got a little more disconnected from this team and this program every year because of what was happening between us and the coach. You know that we feel disconnected. He kind of pushed us away from the program. I told you that. Lady at Memorial calls email the night said, Hey, glad to see you guys back around here again. I thought that was a pretty good you.

00:06:48
Speaker 3: Know, that reminded you that you don't go a lot.

00:06:50
Speaker 5: Yeah, we weren't necessarily welcome, I think around and to be fair, I mean since COVID, what's really been worth remembering?

00:06:55
Speaker 2: Not a lot. So it's kind of yeah.

00:06:57
Speaker 4: I mean you look at you look at the fourteen or fifteen guys we mentioned.

00:07:01
Speaker 3: I mean.

00:07:03
Speaker 4: Like, let's just what they did here. Okay, So Lance, where I think was kind I think he was kind.

00:07:09
Speaker 3: Of beloved here. How about Lance? We got it?

00:07:11
Speaker 4: I mean there was I did really like Lance. I felt like he put his energy into the team. I felt like there was a lot about Lance that I really like, But you look at the other guys on that list, Z had that amazing night. I'm partial to DJ Wagner. I want him to succeed, but you go back to some of those other guys. I mean, Bryce Hopkins didn't really play a whole lot here. It is, you know, Cameron Fletcher, all those guys.

00:07:37
Speaker 3: I don't know.

00:07:37
Speaker 4: I feel like that that was a group of Kentucky players sort of destined to be forgotten. Like, do you think in five years I worry that a dude who actually was good here, Trey Mitchell.

00:07:46
Speaker 3: Do you think people like don't mention his name?

00:07:50
Speaker 4: Olivier Saar was in the NBA, and I don't know that people ever even think about him being here. I just it's nice, nice to kind of that. I don't want to say erase that era, but that's an era where I just don't think people will remember a lot of.

00:08:04
Speaker 3: Those guys like we do dudes from the past.

00:08:07
Speaker 5: We started naming guys and you've mentioned a couple of them. Damien Collins was on that list yesterday. If I didn't see his LSU jersey, I don't know if I would be able to pick.

00:08:15
Speaker 4: Some of those guys matured like huge, looks bigger, Devin ask you kind of looks like a different person.

00:08:22
Speaker 3: Some of those guys shave his head.

00:08:24
Speaker 4: Yeah, they's gone through a period of life where they look different. But but nevertheless, I I it'll be interesting to see.

00:08:31
Speaker 3: There are I think.

00:08:32
Speaker 4: Gaps in UK fans knowledge where they don't necessarily there aren't a lot of memories.

00:08:38
Speaker 3: That stick out. Again, like, think of Tubby's last.

00:08:41
Speaker 4: Two years and I love Tubby, but what do you remember those last two years of Tubby teams? Who do you remember playing for those teams? I mean, I can give you a few Bobby Perry, Woohary Thomas, But I don't think people remember most of those guys, right, and I do. I do wonder if these last few years are going to be like that. Like if we were to pull up that O six, O seven roster, how many of the guys do you think you would remember and you were covering the team?

00:09:14
Speaker 5: Then well I would know all of them just because I was like.

00:09:17
Speaker 3: Let me but go for it.

00:09:19
Speaker 5: I'm off the top of my head. Yeah, if you're so smart, I thought you were. I thought you were going to show me a picture and say to you.

00:09:25
Speaker 4: What did he say, Shannon? All of the roster? Okay, that's what you said that you didn't say you were very confident? Are you a casual?

00:09:37
Speaker 3: Are you men? Can you name this roster?

00:09:39
Speaker 5: If I see a picture, I guarantee I'm not giving you the picture.

00:09:42
Speaker 3: All right, give me some names.

00:09:43
Speaker 4: I gave you a couple of I gave you Bobby Perry, wucash orbs you and Sharay Thomas. Now name me the other players from the six O seventeen Tubbies last year.

00:09:52
Speaker 5: Okay, I'm not sure if it was the six team of the seventeen, but I like Shagary Aleeen.

00:09:57
Speaker 4: Shagary Aleeen not on that team, all right? What Jared Carter? Jared Carter on the team one?

00:10:04
Speaker 5: Okay, I'm trying to go to the big guys.

00:10:06
Speaker 3: Bernard Kote, Bernard Ktay No.

00:10:09
Speaker 5: No, Robbie Moss.

00:10:11
Speaker 3: Robbie Moss his last year gone, wasn't there either? Uh, he's one for he's one for four. Oh.

00:10:21
Speaker 5: Dwight Perry.

00:10:22
Speaker 3: Dwight Perry that year was on the team.

00:10:24
Speaker 4: Now that's a good pick. I'll say that's a good pick to get Dwight Perry. Just remember for check for accidentally starting an NCAA tournament game.

00:10:32
Speaker 5: Michael Porter. Good, Wow, you remember. Now.

00:10:36
Speaker 4: I didn't think you'd get that one. Michael Porter. Okay, you're doing You're doing good. You got about four or five more.

00:10:41
Speaker 5: Uh gosh, I'm trying to think who in the heck the guards were big names.

00:10:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, you're missing some easy ones. All right, I'm giving up. We can't have dead space.

00:10:53
Speaker 5: Yeah, Ramel Bradley, Oh yeah, Romel and Joe, Joe Crawford, Joe, Randolph Morris. Yeah, named the obscure players and forgot the good ones. Mee Toy Meeks would have been a good one. Derek Jasper, Yeah, got.

00:11:08
Speaker 6: About Derek dak You started at the twelfth seeds you literally named Jordan Burk's and Joey Harten forgot Reed Shephard and Rob Dillingham.

00:11:16
Speaker 4: And then the final one you missed from Anchored ze Alaska, Ramone Harris.

00:11:19
Speaker 5: Raising Ramone Harris. So Perry Stevenson went on that team?

00:11:23
Speaker 4: Uh this seems to yes, he was Perry Stevenson about Mark Krabbs?

00:11:26
Speaker 3: Did he was he that Mark Krebs?

00:11:28
Speaker 4: Not on yet? The last one? The final sort of end of the bench guy on that team, the.

00:11:33
Speaker 3: Curry Flurry, Mark Curry, Mark Mark Curry was on that team.

00:11:37
Speaker 4: So anyway, I do wonder if the last couple of cow teams in fifteen years, when when the younger people are doing some version of this show in space, if they will be able to remember some of these guys that we had this year.

00:11:50
Speaker 5: We already admit we forget Isaiah Jackson played on this team, and I know he's playing well, but Cason Wallas is another guy that I kind of forget was here.

00:11:59
Speaker 3: You know.

00:11:59
Speaker 4: Yeah, Isaiah Jackson is the NBA player that will be the most obscure. I mean he has been if in fifty years when you're talking about first round NBA draft picks, Isaiah Jackson will be the hardest one for people to remember.

00:12:14
Speaker 6: And I loved him that I wanted to play more, but it was the COVID year. They weren't good. Everything was just so weird. Some people were checked out dealing with things, and he had a decent season, gets picked and goes the Pacers and we forget about him.

00:12:24
Speaker 2: But Mario, don't put that performance online. People will be that.

00:12:28
Speaker 3: Will be mad again. He's mad at him. Look, come here, come here.

00:12:31
Speaker 4: I want you to get on because you always come off as a nice guy.

00:12:34
Speaker 3: What do you all give me? You got to go over there, go over that.

00:12:37
Speaker 4: Side so that it's easier to get to all right, you you never get mad, like you never get mad.

00:12:43
Speaker 3: Why were you mad?

00:12:45
Speaker 7: I just feel like it got misunderstood. Yes, that was the main thing.

00:12:48
Speaker 3: I mean, there was a little bit of it that was playing up for entertainment.

00:12:52
Speaker 7: Part of the show is the entertainment aspect of it. But I felt like, you know, people use social media to put negative stuff out, and that's not the way I'll look at it.

00:13:01
Speaker 3: What do you think social media should be for?

00:13:02
Speaker 7: Because you're kind of positivity informative. You want to inform people and then entertain people.

00:13:08
Speaker 4: Well, if you make Mario mad, Drew, then you've made people mad. So I appreciated him taking up for us. Yeah, that was a fancy that's a Ryan statement. If you make Mario mad, then you make people mad. But I wouldn't. It was it was nice to come in here and you were you were like ready to fight somebody.

00:13:26
Speaker 3: So I appreciate that. No problem. All right, there, you go get Mario round of clause there.

00:13:30
Speaker 4: Eight, I'm nine to eight, oh, twenty to eighty seven.

00:13:34
Speaker 3: Do you all feel like we win Saturday night?

00:13:36
Speaker 2: Oh boy, I don't feel great, Bob, Yes, yes, I do.

00:13:41
Speaker 5: You know, my brother's wife and his daughter both went to Auburn.

00:13:45
Speaker 3: So I hear brother's wife and his daughter.

00:13:47
Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, so I hear a lot of the Auburn talk.

00:13:50
Speaker 3: Sister.

00:13:51
Speaker 5: I think they are as disappointed in Auburn as we are in Kentucky. So I think it's a huge game for both teams. And they've lost five games already struggling, so that's I think it could be a rock fight with both teams knowing they have to win this game.

00:14:05
Speaker 2: I just wonder if Auburn fans feel as confident as I would about playing Auburn for Auburn playing Kentucky. You know, does Auburn think that they can beat Kentucky.

00:14:14
Speaker 3: I think they're down too.

00:14:15
Speaker 4: I mean, I think both these are the two most frustrated fan.

00:14:21
Speaker 3: Bases in the SEC.

00:14:22
Speaker 4: Right, the Alabama's are a little frustrated, but that's a little bit of like you're a little spoiled at Alabama. But but these are probably the two most frustrated fan bases, and the loser of this game is going to be the most frustrated fan base in the SEC.

00:14:37
Speaker 3: So my hope is we're able to get the victory.

00:14:40
Speaker 4: If I'm nine two eight h twenty two eighty seven, we are here at forty six Solutions, KSR with our mid level basketball knowledge, will be back.

00:14:49
Speaker 3: This is ASR. Wu'm back.

00:14:52
Speaker 4: It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live at forty six Solutions.

00:15:07
Speaker 4: One person writes, Matt, the reason I like your OL show is I feel like it's real. I could totally see you telling those people to be quiet, and that's exactly Matt.

00:15:16
Speaker 3: Joe who does it on airplanes.

00:15:18
Speaker 4: I said it with love, cleanly, with love. I mean, they're wonderful people. I just you know, you can't talk good.

00:15:25
Speaker 3: It's the show.

00:15:26
Speaker 6: I noticed we've done several shows here, one of our favorite spots. But I noticed there's an outside area this year. I don't know that I think that might be for some some conversations.

00:15:34
Speaker 4: It's like when they have the room at the airport where you can just throw your kids in there and they go screaming.

00:15:38
Speaker 3: I'm for that. Let them have that room and then everybody else doesn't have to do it.

00:15:43
Speaker 5: There was the Lexington Rotary Club met here at eight o'closs this morning and Crystal moved them outside before we started doing our show.

00:15:50
Speaker 4: What the rotary club remind me what rotary clubs do?

00:15:53
Speaker 3: Is that? Like, uh, I think you just.

00:15:55
Speaker 5: Go to the website rotary dot com and tell you what they're doing doing.

00:15:58
Speaker 3: Just know, I know every town has a row club. I just don't always not always is too. I mean I used to love our rotary auction. Did you all have those in your town?

00:16:05
Speaker 8: No?

00:16:06
Speaker 4: I want I watched a bid on things in the Hopkinsville Whenever.

00:16:09
Speaker 3: Ye yeah, I mean that's the one I was watching.

00:16:11
Speaker 4: Yeah, Hopkinsville's on TV. You can stream it to what it was. Thank you to forty six Solutions for giving us this, uh this this megaphone like this, I like that you can take home. They're giving it to all the people here and then I'm gonna give UK tickets a.

00:16:23
Speaker 2: Way And they also gave us this beautiful cut out of Ryan Lenard. For those of you who didn't see.

00:16:27
Speaker 3: It, Oh it's beautiful.

00:16:30
Speaker 5: That's a little embarrassing.

00:16:32
Speaker 3: You got a body double, though, Why didn't you use your own body?

00:16:34
Speaker 2: I thought that was his body.

00:16:36
Speaker 5: It looks like my body.

00:16:37
Speaker 3: Uh eight, I'm twenty two eighty seven. One person writes, Matt. Uh.

00:16:41
Speaker 4: My buddies and I play the can you name the roster game all the time.

00:16:46
Speaker 3: It's harder than you think.

00:16:47
Speaker 4: Like, take the twenty twelve and twenty fifteen rosters.

00:16:51
Speaker 3: Can you name those?

00:16:52
Speaker 5: All?

00:16:53
Speaker 2: Right?

00:16:53
Speaker 3: Well, let's do this real quick. Twenty twelve. I think I can do a pretty good job. All right. You get to start with the starters.

00:16:59
Speaker 4: You get Lamb gil Christ, Davis, Terrence Jones, Darius Miller, Kyle Wilcher, Eloy Vargas because I always would type his name wrong, w Lloy Vargas.

00:17:14
Speaker 3: I remember.

00:17:15
Speaker 4: I would always get too excited and I would just type w l O I with exclamation points. Jared Paulsen was on that team. Twenty Beckham was on that team.

00:17:25
Speaker 5: Good call.

00:17:26
Speaker 4: Brian Long, did he appreciate being here? Was on that team? Sam Malone, Todd Lanner, Todd Lanton was on that team. Am I missing anybody?

00:17:39
Speaker 6: You already said Drawn. I'll just say again Drawn Lamb, just so I can say his name here. Let me just I just pulled it up. No, we forgot one. Anybody remember the one we forgot?

00:17:49
Speaker 3: Huh Stacy Poole Junior, Stacy Poole.

00:17:52
Speaker 4: Actually we forgot too, good calling Stacy pool.

00:17:55
Speaker 3: Who's the other one? Anybody? Actually? Two? We forgot Hood, sorry John from Kentucky.

00:18:04
Speaker 4: In everyone in here forgot And then I don't think anybody would know because he didn't play, but he was actually on the roster.

00:18:11
Speaker 3: Does anybody know who's on the roster but was sitting.

00:18:13
Speaker 5: Out the point guard of the.

00:18:19
Speaker 3: Ryan Harrow?

00:18:19
Speaker 4: Okay, twenty fifteen, let's just do the platoons Harrison, Twins, Trey Lyles, Willie and Carl Uless, Booker, Poythrus, Marcus Lee, Dacari Johnson, h Derek Willis, and Dominique Hawkins.

00:18:40
Speaker 3: And then I don't It's hard for me to remember which walk On was on that during that time.

00:18:45
Speaker 4: Lanter I think was I think Lantern was twelve. So they got boy, you got those guys got a run, didn't they? They got twelve, thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen. That's a heck of a run for those walk Ons anybody else.

00:18:57
Speaker 5: That's the I think you nailed both rosters really well.

00:19:00
Speaker 4: Yeah, but I don't remember Joey Hart. I'm sorry, but.

00:19:03
Speaker 5: You know what I think. We looked it up one time. John Hood played with more future NBA guys than anybody.

00:19:07
Speaker 3: That's right.

00:19:08
Speaker 4: John Hood was ten to thirteen. So John Hood played with all of those guys, got a heck of a run. AM nine two eighty seven. By the way, the UK guys started in the NBA, you know, not the best. I mean Rob and Antonio didn't get in Reid. Uh, I watched Reid play. You know, he's they got so many guys. They got like twelve guys, so I think it's gonna be hard for him to get maybe his minutes as many minutes as we hoped.

00:19:36
Speaker 3: But uh, you know, some of the.

00:19:38
Speaker 4: Other guys are in great spots and Shay Alexander Drew maybe the one of the famous for the MVP.

00:19:43
Speaker 6: Well, last night in the DraftKings, what do you call it? With the big million dollar bonus? I rolled the dice with Julius Randall had it he until the very end. I missed it by like a point.

00:19:51
Speaker 3: Right, and I had a big game. Yeah.

00:19:53
Speaker 6: With Luca and Shay and Jokich and all those guys playing, I didn't think many people would get Randall and I was in the mix until the very end.

00:19:59
Speaker 5: He had a great game.

00:20:00
Speaker 4: So one of the things I do like to do on this show is use collective intelligence. I have a problem. So I subscribe Shannon to the NBA League Pass so that I can watch our guys all over. But I don't know what it is about being in Lexington. But I don't know if you all realize this. In Lexington and Louisville, they have three different teams that are our official home market.

00:20:23
Speaker 5: So so here's the problem.

00:20:26
Speaker 3: I subscribe to it, and then I have YouTube TV.

00:20:30
Speaker 4: The Pacers, Cleveland and the Grizzlies are all considered our home market.

00:20:37
Speaker 3: Now. I don't consider any of those are homeo, but all three are our home market, and I cannot physically figure out how to watch those games. Now. I don't care about those teams, but Brian.

00:20:51
Speaker 4: S I can't figure out how to get those three because you're in the thing now. If you have direct TV, you have those channels. But let's say you don't. You don't have those channels. How do we have three home markets? It annoys me because especially Memphis Ryan, I'd actually like to see play. I guess there is the other option.

00:21:11
Speaker 5: Just go to kas Bar because we can get them there if you can't get them at home.

00:21:15
Speaker 2: Is that?

00:21:15
Speaker 4: But I mean we're not open midnight on a Tuesday. Like there are times I want to watch them play and you just can't.

00:21:21
Speaker 2: You can come to my house. I get all the games, won't We won't talk about how you Yeah, it's just a little gray area.

00:21:31
Speaker 6: The first year I bought League Pass and it's been corrected. They had the Titans as my home market. We couldn't get it lextioned in them, like this is the only reason I gave you to it.

00:21:38
Speaker 4: Get the Reds being the whole market. But who in the world thinks of Cleveland is our home market.

00:21:43
Speaker 2: If you don't have a team in your state, it should not be shocked.

00:21:47
Speaker 4: I get the Reds. I understand that, but everybody else to me, it doesn't make any sense. Who's up next?

00:21:52
Speaker 3: Ross? Ross? Go ahead? Ross?

00:21:56
Speaker 8: Oh, all right, so the.

00:22:01
Speaker 9: I don't think the Ansley alemanor shooting as a fluke.

00:22:08
Speaker 4: I feel like take us off speakerphone first of all, so I don't sound like you're in your bathroom.

00:22:13
Speaker 3: All right, now, go ahead, it's.

00:22:18
Speaker 5: My favorite part figure.

00:22:20
Speaker 9: All right, I don't I wasn't on speakerphone.

00:22:22
Speaker 3: All right, right, better it sounds better, go ahead.

00:22:25
Speaker 9: Okay, all right, sorry, So the elemanor it's sounded like y'all were surprised that he could shoot. So I did a little bit of digging, which I think might be the first time that's ever been done on him.

00:22:39
Speaker 5: Uh.

00:22:41
Speaker 9: He he was number one in shooting in his conference last year in three point like three three pointers made, which was surprising.

00:22:51
Speaker 4: Well, my mind just comes from having gone to two things, the Blue White and then the open day, and then we had had another practice we went to.

00:22:59
Speaker 3: He just wasn't as good. The shooters arrest him.

00:23:00
Speaker 4: But if he shoots like he did last night or two nights ago, he's gonna be great and he will see minutes. I just the times I've seen before was not TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ.

00:23:11
Speaker 3: He'll make him pay. Now.

00:23:13
Speaker 2: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones, Welcome.

00:23:18
Speaker 4: Back Tucky Sports Radio A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine is seven seven two seven seven.

00:23:25
Speaker 3: Four five two five four.

00:23:27
Speaker 6: Uh.

00:23:28
Speaker 4: One person corrects me that uh Antonio Reeves played last night. He didn't playing in the first game played last night, U.

00:23:34
Speaker 3: Zero for three.

00:23:34
Speaker 4: So hopefully he'll he'll make a couple shots going soon. And then we missed e J.

00:23:39
Speaker 3: Floury Ow. How do we forget our guy?

00:23:41
Speaker 5: He J?

00:23:41
Speaker 3: He's one of my favorite people. How did we forget him? An apology? We owe you J and apology loved you J. Remember what he dunked on Julius? I think it was Julius Randall in the Blue White Game.

00:23:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. And he was He was a great dunker. He was like the kid Kareem Hawkins who could get up the other you know, a couple of years ago and won the dunk contest.

00:23:59
Speaker 3: You were gone, but was.

00:24:00
Speaker 6: Around a lot for the law familiar stuff. This summer is really good to see him and some of those guys back supporting their.

00:24:05
Speaker 4: Hej's good Gumes his dad that built this track program where we ended up with all these people in the Olympics and all that that was EJ's dad that was able to do that. One person rights, Matt, I really love the show.

00:24:17
Speaker 5: But here we go, here we go, here we go.

00:24:22
Speaker 4: I really love the show, but I do think the critics have some value in what they're saying. You don't know enough specifics about football or basketball for this platform. Don't you think that you should give the platform to people who do know basketball and do no football.

00:24:40
Speaker 2: Just hand the show over to somebody else. What a suggestion here you go?

00:24:45
Speaker 4: Well, first of all, I think most of the people that always claim we don't know the specifics about sports, they think they know a lot more than they do. As well, none of us really know sports, like like all you gotta do spend some time with football coaches when they break watch Peyton and Eli Belichick talk about football, and then tell me how much we know about it.

00:25:05
Speaker 3: Like it's a whole nother thing.

00:25:07
Speaker 4: But secondly, the last sentence there, Drew, I think is very telling you should give this platform to somebody else. My argument would be someone else should go earn a platform to be able to do it. If you want to be given a platform. I mean, we weren't given a platform. We just went and took it, so I think that's probably what.

00:25:30
Speaker 3: Someone else should do.

00:25:31
Speaker 4: Believe me, we know what we don't know, which is everything. If you listen to me with Ian fitz Simmons last night, he asked me at the beginning, he was like, so, what do you think about Navy's quarterback? And I went, oh, he's a good guy, like the way so we represent the comics sound he wants somebody to break down the X And he was like and I think he realized I didn't know, and he's like, you know Blake corback. I was like, yoh, yeah, Blake good, good quarterback. And he also has to do his military at the same time. That's really hard.

00:26:01
Speaker 2: How many times have you had to fake your way through some of those interviews. I was listening the other day they brought you on and talked about the acc with you. I was listening to that conversation.

00:26:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's just the answer is ninety percent of them there you go.

00:26:15
Speaker 2: See.

00:26:15
Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean like they brought we had to interview Damian Woody last night and.

00:26:21
Speaker 2: Uh stark thoughts about Damian Woody.

00:26:23
Speaker 3: Well, no, no, I.

00:26:24
Speaker 4: Mean, well, he's he's like a commentator, So that's you just talk what ever. But in the pre show meeting, the guy goes, so, what do you want to ask Damian Woody? And I was like, well, what does Damian Woody want me to ask? I don't have a whole lot of strong opinions Ryan about what Damian Woody says.

00:26:40
Speaker 5: I look at it as we all learned together. We're learning as a group. It's an educational show that we're all just kind of learning about things about what's happening the news. My favorite part about the show.

00:26:51
Speaker 6: Ran learns about everything that's going I mean, I thought our guard was Robbie Brady the whole summer.

00:26:56
Speaker 4: So uh I will I think we do know? News wise, we're gonna out two running backs. We are out two running backs, Chip Traying them and Demmy Sumo Karbe all both out for the game. So Jamiy Wilcox is gonna get his first start. There's a really good question of who's behind him, who's playing Davison.

00:27:18
Speaker 3: Well, Papson's hurt too.

00:27:19
Speaker 5: Tom Lee said this morning, though Patterson may play all right.

00:27:22
Speaker 4: So we're gonna have two true freshmen out there out there playing running back.

00:27:26
Speaker 3: Let me tell you how surprising this is.

00:27:28
Speaker 4: News is at least to some on DraftKings two days ago, you could have bet Jamion Wilcox to plus twenty eight hundred dollars or plus twenty eight hundred to score two touchdowns. A guy sent me he beted. I don't know if he had inside information or whatever. Now DraftKings has offered him to cash out his twenty five dollars bet for one hundred and fifty dollars and the game hasn't.

00:27:53
Speaker 3: Even started yet. Wow, they literally been.

00:27:57
Speaker 4: They've already offered him six times his bet to cash and they haven't even had the game yet. How big a deal is it that Kentucky Drew is out there? Two top running backs.

00:28:06
Speaker 6: I'm pretty worried. First of all, good for that guy. The moment I saw the injury list on which the Draftkinks was already gone, just missed it. Tried to get some too, but yeah, I'm worried about it. Will Cox duct tape his shoes to his legs, take it up to the knee. I mean, he's gonna have to have a big game. I'm excited to see what he can do. He's been great when he gets gets an opportunity. He has a good average, but a whole game against Auburn, which has a good run defense. I'm worried they gonna throw it a little bit, and as we've seen that hadn't gone well either.

00:28:32
Speaker 4: Do you think they play Gavin some whims it Maybe it's kind of a pseudo running back.

00:28:37
Speaker 5: Yeah, that's I was gonna say. He may get a lot of touches just for that reason, just to get some fresh legs back there. If will Cox and Patterson can't carry a lot of the load Whimsy, especially they get close to the en zon, He's probably get a lot of carries.

00:28:47
Speaker 3: It's gonna be I mean, Auburn's kind of team you can run it on.

00:28:51
Speaker 4: So this is like especially a game where boy, you'd love to have some of those guys.

00:28:59
Speaker 3: Are you surprised it's true that they're both out. I'm a little surprised, especially especially uh, you know they both were playing at the end of the last game. It's a little surprising to me.

00:29:09
Speaker 6: Too, especially both. I mean, that's a that's a big hit in Auburn. You look at the record. I think Stoop said this earlier in the week and he got mocked a little bit. But it's true. Auburn's a good football team that just hasn't won. They've had a fourth quarter lead in two maybe three games. Three of their losses, like Georgia, pretty well, three of their losses are by one possession. We got to look in the mirror a little bit. Get Kentucky gets killed at Florida, gets killed by South Carolina. Auburn's really been in most of their games. They've just had too many turnovers and haven't been able to punch it in the red zone. They've been getting the points. It's kind of similar with Kentucky's offense. They move it, they're just not scoring.

00:29:41
Speaker 4: Yeah, a couple open lines eight, five, twenty two, eighty seven. I'm gonna give you all something that when I say this, this ain't gonna be available even in a day or two.

00:29:51
Speaker 3: This is a little secret.

00:29:52
Speaker 4: DraftKings is going to make a special bet that comes out Monday, but the odds are almost certainly gonna be worse at this time. Kentucky basketball is right now on DraftKings plus three thousand, so thirty to one to win the SEC, not even to win the national championship in basketball, just the SEC thirty to one. Now, I'm not saying we're gonna win the SEC. But you don't think if we did this thirty times we wouldn't win it once?

00:30:27
Speaker 3: Thirty to one.

00:30:28
Speaker 6: Already bet it, it says, under review, because it pays out so much. It hasn't even been accepted yet. Oh it hasn't even already bett it?

00:30:35
Speaker 3: Wait.

00:30:35
Speaker 6: I mean I've never seen actually required bet under review. It's bet under review.

00:30:40
Speaker 2: Like the odds are so long, like they can't believe you're actually there.

00:30:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, right there, already got.

00:30:43
Speaker 4: It from with this guy plus three thousand, plus three thousand for this Kentucky team. I mean, Alabama's the best team in the SEC. Okay, we play him twice though we have a similar style to them. But Ryan, let's take Alabama out.

00:30:59
Speaker 3: Of the mix for just a second.

00:31:01
Speaker 4: Is it crazy to think we can be better than the other teams in the SEC? I mean, preseason, sure, Auburn, Tennessee, maybe I put them ahead. But is it insane to think we could be better than those other teams?

00:31:13
Speaker 5: Not insane at all, Matt, know how good we saw they can shoot the basketball, playing modern basketball, playing the way they play.

00:31:18
Speaker 4: He's still thirty to one, Still thirty to one. You're under review and he's not.

00:31:23
Speaker 6: Maybe I've bet a few that, maybe it's gone through since, but I sent it to a lot of people last night and said, this is gonna be six to one after we beat Duke in a week.

00:31:30
Speaker 4: Let me tell you something. I'm serious. It's thirty to one on Monday. They're making it the KSR bet, and then it's gonna go down because a lot of people bet thirty to one. Ryle, I'm not saying. I'm just saying, I feel like thirty to one. Well, you will never ever ever get Kentucky basketball thirty to one to win the SEC. Probably never again. I bet it's never been offered that ever in the past.

00:31:55
Speaker 5: Probably true.

00:31:56
Speaker 4: And I think this team is way too good to get thirty to one to win. We're thirty five to one to win the national championship. How are we thirty to one to win the SEC? Did the line move it all?

00:32:08
Speaker 3: No?

00:32:09
Speaker 4: No, because of the couple after. If you're listening on podcasts, it might have already done it.

00:32:16
Speaker 3: But right now, thirty to one, that's pretty good. Who's up next, Terry? Terry?

00:32:21
Speaker 8: Go ahead, Terry, Hey, guys, I'm glad you segued into the running back injury, and I know, I'm I'm sixty two and I come from a time when you played. I don't care if you were hurt, you played, you played the game. So I just don't understand the logic of a chip train them. He waits all this time to play, he plays ten plays, and now he's out again. It makes no sense to me.

00:32:48
Speaker 10: I watched Max Harriston do a pick six and ins Ohio strut into the end zone.

00:32:54
Speaker 4: Hey get on the Max Harrison though, I don't know about chip training them, and just I mean, I don't know Max Harriston his situation. He has to miss Okay, has it's it's it's not a football thing. So I don't want to get into it because I the kid deserves privacy.

00:33:09
Speaker 3: But but that's not a football thing, and he has to sit out.

00:33:14
Speaker 4: It has it's, it's he has no choice, and it's not it's not in.

00:33:18
Speaker 3: Trouble, it's a hell.

00:33:19
Speaker 4: It's just a health issue that has nothing to do with playing football. And so that's why I would not put him in that in that mix.

00:33:27
Speaker 10: So he's probably done for the year, You're I.

00:33:29
Speaker 4: Mean, I I thought chip train him was probably done for the year. He may be now he may have just wanted.

00:33:35
Speaker 3: To try it.

00:33:36
Speaker 4: Hairston, I would be surprised if he plays again. But let me just say, the kid has no choice. Okay, So like I just want to leave it at that. But but I don't think it's fair to put him in that mix because it's his situation.

00:33:50
Speaker 3: Is very different.

00:33:51
Speaker 8: Okay.

00:33:52
Speaker 10: And then so our our game plan for tomorrow night. And I'm trying to be a little bit funny, but if you're going to depend on Wilcox, he can't keep his shoes on. So are we gonna throw? We're gonna have to throw tomorrow night because well, I mean, if I run situation, yeah, I appreciate the call.

00:34:09
Speaker 3: Terry, I get.

00:34:09
Speaker 4: If Patterson plays, then I think you got two guys. It looks like Bush only really wants to play two guys. That's what he's done most of the year. It's probably okay, But if Patterson doesn't play, I don't know Gavin whims it, I don't know who else it would.

00:34:22
Speaker 5: Be, right, and Terry mentioned man have to throw it. Well, that's that's the one strength Auburn has is their past defense is like they're one thing they've done pretty.

00:34:29
Speaker 4: Well The only thing that Auburn's been pretty good at is stopping to pass. So in some ways it's not matching up for us the way we would want.

00:34:38
Speaker 3: Yesterday we taped fade this. I wore Shady Rays the whole time. I would just look over you and just start laughing. It was just so ridiculous. We're in the store indoors downtown and you're just rocking the don't know what made me do it, Chanon, It's just a weird thing.

00:34:50
Speaker 2: What your style? Do you go the wayfars? Do you go to aviators?

00:34:53
Speaker 3: Do it all?

00:34:55
Speaker 4: But you can go to Shady Rays and independent American owned company started right here in Kentucky with you're running, fishing, biking, whatever you can do it at Shady Rays three hundred thousand and five star reviews. Try the entire collection in person at they're Lexton or Louisville location. It's online Shady Rays dot com. We'll take a break and be right back here at forty six Solutions in Lexiicon.

00:35:14
Speaker 3: Gree Worter back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio.

00:35:19
Speaker 4: This is a time of day when they bring out the food from Penn Station and then everybody goes and eats so we we You know, I lose everybody's attention for a minute.

00:35:27
Speaker 3: S's a food, food comes out.

00:35:28
Speaker 4: I understand if I'm nine to two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, I hope you moved. As soon as I said that, they are DraftKings already taking it off the board.

00:35:38
Speaker 2: It's like they're listening.

00:35:39
Speaker 4: It's how did they already take it off the board? That means so many people bet it. They were like, wait a minute, what's going on?

00:35:48
Speaker 3: Ryan?

00:35:48
Speaker 4: So they are Kentucky if you were to go there right now, they have all the other SEC teams, but based on one comment, Ryan, they've already taken Kentucky off the board.

00:35:57
Speaker 5: I missed out. I waited to the commercial break. It was already gone.

00:35:59
Speaker 3: Can't wait till the commercial.

00:36:00
Speaker 4: We had some people somebody in here got it in, right, somebody on Twitter, so some people got it in.

00:36:05
Speaker 2: They all pushed. Drew's pending that through.

00:36:07
Speaker 3: I think, yeah, months through.

00:36:09
Speaker 4: So everybody's through. But if you're not through now, be interesting to see at some point they'll put it back up. It'll be interesting to see what they put the odds for.

00:36:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll be. I think it's gonna be.

00:36:17
Speaker 4: We may have completely ruined the market in like four seconds. So I apologize in advance, shouldn't I thought you'd like it. Well, maybe not like this story. It's probably not the most positive thing.

00:36:28
Speaker 2: In the world.

00:36:29
Speaker 4: But Kenton County a principal in Kenton County who was a principal of an elementary school.

00:36:34
Speaker 3: Now he's a.

00:36:35
Speaker 4: Principal of Scott High School or going to be the principal Scott High School. He has been suspended and he's under review for allowing students to use a beer bong at his house. H yeah, you can't be sixteen and seventeen year old.

00:36:52
Speaker 3: I think it was guys like that.

00:36:53
Speaker 4: They were like partying, but at his house beer bonged with students allegedly. You think that's you think that's something that will get you in trouble.

00:37:03
Speaker 2: Yes, I mean you should be doing that as a parent anyway, especially the principal of the.

00:37:10
Speaker 5: Now.

00:37:10
Speaker 3: Again, I don't know this as much of a defense. Yeah, he's now.

00:37:14
Speaker 4: The principal of the high school. However, when he did it, he was principal of the elementary school.

00:37:18
Speaker 2: I don't think that makes it dated that it almost makes it worse.

00:37:22
Speaker 3: You know, you think that makes it worse.

00:37:24
Speaker 2: I mean, and he didn't. I just wonder like what parents are thinking sometimes when they allow their kids to have the parties. You know, like everybody's got a phone.

00:37:32
Speaker 4: No, no, but this is that I don't think this is necessarily on the parents. This is the kids went to the principal's house. Yeah, the parents may not know that they even were there.

00:37:43
Speaker 2: So that's not normal.

00:37:45
Speaker 3: When you were seventeen, did your parent know where you were all the time.

00:37:48
Speaker 2: I wasn't hanging out with the principal. I didn't tell you that.

00:37:52
Speaker 3: Well, that's what I was gonna ask you. I mean, that's why I wanted to bring this up.

00:37:57
Speaker 4: Well, okay, well, I mean, obviously we're not gonna name name games, but did you have teachers at your school that drank with with students?

00:38:06
Speaker 3: I mean I know of one at my school that did not, not with me.

00:38:10
Speaker 4: I didn't drink, but like with I do know it not like a like creepy like day anyway, just occasionally there would be people who'd be like, have a beer with.

00:38:20
Speaker 2: It may have happened at my high school, but I didn't run in those circles even so.

00:38:25
Speaker 3: There was definitely one at mine. Were there were one at yours?

00:38:28
Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I think it.

00:38:31
Speaker 4: My point is I'm not excusing it. It's it's terrible behavior. But I think it happens a lot more than people than people realize.

00:38:41
Speaker 2: I don't know.

00:38:41
Speaker 5: For some reason, the story resonates more than me because it was it was a principal. Okay, that guy's supposed to be a leader and somebody you look up to.

00:38:49
Speaker 3: Was there one at your school?

00:38:51
Speaker 2: I'm sure the kids do look up to them.

00:38:52
Speaker 6: You know, this show's broadcast in Madisonville. All of the maroons had a great time there.

00:38:58
Speaker 4: You don't have to say who it is. I mean, we're not gonna say who it is. That would be We had.

00:39:01
Speaker 6: Some teachers that liked hanging out with the high schoolers.

00:39:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's just weird.

00:39:06
Speaker 3: It's very weird.

00:39:09
Speaker 4: But I just think, like, I think this happens at the high school level more than people. I think when it happens, at least it when it was odds. It was like they were people were about to graduate high school and it was like, hey, congratulate, it's one time for the road, you know, that kind of thing. It wasn't like a regular occurrence rhyme. But I think it did. I think it did happen.

00:39:31
Speaker 5: It seems like most times the teacher has a child that is the same age of the kids that are coming over and having the partaking.

00:39:37
Speaker 4: It's not the case in mock in the school, but you think that's what happens most of the time.

00:39:42
Speaker 5: I think most of the time.

00:39:43
Speaker 2: That's a good point. I mean, the Proncibol doesn't have a you know boy girl that's around that age.

00:39:50
Speaker 5: It's a stranger.

00:39:52
Speaker 6: If he doesn't have any kids, that's what that's definitely you should have friends over and they're just in the basement and he's upstairs letting them do whatever.

00:39:58
Speaker 3: Did he invite the student over?

00:40:00
Speaker 4: There the allegation and there's a picture where the principal has the beer bong in his hand.

00:40:07
Speaker 3: That's not a good look at all.

00:40:09
Speaker 5: And none of the kids are his kids.

00:40:11
Speaker 3: These are I don't know. I didn't look at that level of detail. I'm not sure.

00:40:14
Speaker 4: I don't know, but but he has that, he has the beer bong in his hand.

00:40:18
Speaker 3: I mean, even if he's the parents, there's.

00:40:20
Speaker 4: A difference between like, okay, if you all stay in tonight, I'll look the other way.

00:40:25
Speaker 3: And hey, guys, here's a beer boll.

00:40:27
Speaker 2: Yep, that's for sixteen year olds. I mean it's Jill time.

00:40:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's not good. I'm not I'm not. I'm not saying that. Who's up next? They're clear? Oh okay, if I'm not to seven, I may have. There were a lot of teachers.

00:40:44
Speaker 4: Who just who just completely uh for the let's our defense. Our defense was terrible against Florida, especially considering what they've been really all year, really the last few years.

00:40:56
Speaker 3: Do you expect that to get better on Saturday? I hope.

00:40:58
Speaker 5: So we were all so high in our defense, and you know, I brought it up. A friend of mine who's a defensive guy, said, stop patting him on the back. Vanderbilt carved us up. We gave him up a ninety yard drive on the opening possession, we couldn't stop him on third down. And then the defense goes against Florida, a team that has struggled all year, and gave up forty eight points. So maybe there's we're not just should be looking at our offense issues. Maybe there are now some issues on defense.

00:41:22
Speaker 6: Yeah. Adding to my worryt Florida Lagway had seven completions for a thirty four each. I mean, he only threw deep balls Auburn. That's what they do. They throw along and they do it well. So with Max being out and how we looked a week ago, I hope that secondary in those corners figure out how to shut that down.

00:41:39
Speaker 3: Yeah.

00:41:39
Speaker 4: I mean we we've been pretty good about stopping the big play. That's been probably the thing on defense that really stoops teams the entire time he's been here. That's been the thing they're the best at. They kind of make you beat him underneath. Well, that did not happen against against Florida. I mean that Yeah.

00:41:54
Speaker 3: To me.

00:41:55
Speaker 4: When I was on Cold Kublick's show and McElroy didn't know who I was, Cold Cubla did say he was like watching the tape of that Kentucky game that did not look like a Mark Stoops team. It looked like a completely different football team on defense, and he sort of said, to me, what's going on
