NXT Review: No Disqualification Match, Eddy Thorpe Takes On Lexis King & More

<v Speaker 1>for you. Ah we thought, so let's get the show
<v Speaker 1>started right now.
<v Speaker 2>All right, everyone, this is Memphis Mark coming to you
<v Speaker 2>from Mullet Manor and we've got the review for seven
<v Speaker 2>twenty three for NXT. And then they start off with
<v Speaker 2>Drick showing up in a beautiful, beautiful Mercedes and gets
<v Speaker 2>out and storms into the training facility. But you know,
<v Speaker 2>he forgets to close the door, you know, and you know,
<v Speaker 2>you might make it look attle better if you got
<v Speaker 2>out and closed the door and look like that was
<v Speaker 2>your car. But anyway, the lessons to be learned on
<v Speaker 2>down the road. But they go in and Trigg goes
<v Speaker 2>straight to the ring and he's up in there just
<v Speaker 2>complaining about mister Ethan Page all there you go, and
<v Speaker 2>Y saying that he wants his belt back. And before
<v Speaker 2>he went out to the ring, Cedric Alexander and mister
<v Speaker 2>Adonis Chante you know, tried to talk to him and
<v Speaker 2>of course he goes on out there, and then Chante
<v Speaker 2>tells Cedric that, you know, he just he just won't listen.
<v Speaker 2>And yeah, so Trick goes out to the ring and
<v Speaker 2>does his thing, and here comes Cedric, Alexander and Adonis
<v Speaker 2>and uh yeah, so, uh apparently Cedric feels a little disrespected.
<v Speaker 2>There's some words and then a match, our challenge is
<v Speaker 2>thrown out there, you know, and uh you know, and
<v Speaker 2>you know, Chante says that, you know that he dropped
<v Speaker 2>the ball, so we'll see how that goes in a match,
<v Speaker 2>you know. So uh, you know, when a Chante's got
<v Speaker 2>to try to whoop on Trick and trip whoops a shanty,
<v Speaker 2>so we see where that one's going. Faux show, all right,
<v Speaker 2>And then they go from there. They've got Josh Briggs
<v Speaker 2>walking to the ring and uh, you know, he's doing
<v Speaker 2>his little uh you know, biker kind of looker walked
<v Speaker 2>over there, and all of a sudden, Brooks Jensen. It
<v Speaker 2>just jumps him and whoops them to the ring, and
<v Speaker 2>then they proceed to have a no DQ match, a
<v Speaker 2>little revenge little little brother trying to get back at
<v Speaker 2>big brother, and you know the match, you know, I
<v Speaker 2>really was a little down on it. But last night
<v Speaker 2>after that, I watched a couple more matches, older matches,
<v Speaker 2>different type things. I saw the you know with the
<v Speaker 2>Funks and the and the von Erics having a couple
<v Speaker 2>of little just little things where you had the Briscoes,
<v Speaker 2>you know, having a couple of matches, the Rock and
<v Speaker 2>Roll Express getting together after they you know, having a
<v Speaker 2>fight afterwards. You know, just little things like that little revenge.
<v Speaker 2>And I really think it's this match was pretty good.
<v Speaker 2>It's just there's so many camera angles now and you
<v Speaker 2>get such a good look that you know it's hard.
<v Speaker 2>But those guys did a good job. Man. They busted
<v Speaker 2>heads and looked man Brooks actually with a kindo stick
<v Speaker 2>did some of the best damage that I've seen on
<v Speaker 2>somebody in a while. He you know, after somebody, I
<v Speaker 2>think somebody goes through the desk. The desk has broke down,
<v Speaker 2>you know, Booker t and Vicar over there doing the announcement,
<v Speaker 2>and Brooks starts saying something about baseball where it's strike one,
<v Speaker 2>two three, where he hits him one hits him too,
<v Speaker 2>and then he Waylayson and leaves a whelp across his back.
<v Speaker 2>It looks like Interstate forty and so yeah, the match
<v Speaker 2>goes on and on and then all of a sudden,
<v Speaker 2>Sean Spears appears. Hey there we go. Uh and so
<v Speaker 2>there's a little angle there we're going with. So now
<v Speaker 2>that you know there's going to be a chair involved,
<v Speaker 2>it's a no q DQ match and Brooks wears Josh
<v Speaker 2>out to the point to where he stops and does
<v Speaker 2>a tribute to mister the chairman of the board. Sean
<v Speaker 2>Spears and uh attacks, you know, does the DDT on
<v Speaker 2>the chair and wins the match. So it's kind of
<v Speaker 2>a revenge match, you know, he's he's getting back for
<v Speaker 2>the last time that Brooks whooped the tar out of him.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, we go from there. We go to the
<v Speaker 2>champs ax him and Nathan Frasier and the rascals come
<v Speaker 2>in and say howdy. They do their little I don't
<v Speaker 2>know what the rascals are doing, but they do their
<v Speaker 2>little thing, and uh, well, it appears that we're going
<v Speaker 2>to have a six man tag match. Now the Rascal
<v Speaker 2>was going against the Champs via who they can find
<v Speaker 2>as a third and hent hint, wink wink, it's the
<v Speaker 2>young Og. It's gefvon Evans. Fives in a little later
<v Speaker 2>and says, hey, man, I ain't got nothing to do
<v Speaker 2>and y'all need another partner. So you know we're gonna
<v Speaker 2>have the young og and the champs going up against
<v Speaker 2>the rascals. I'm still getting used to that, but hey,
<v Speaker 2>the fans love these guys, all right, So hey, who
<v Speaker 2>am I to say? Who am I to say? And
<v Speaker 2>then then afterwards, you know, you think the interview's over,
<v Speaker 2>but actually breaks the news to Nathan that hey, he
<v Speaker 2>you know, thought that Nathan did good on Speed and
<v Speaker 2>you know, and he liked the competition, so he has
<v Speaker 2>now entered it too. So now they're having a little squabble,
<v Speaker 2>oh because you know, Nathan's like, well, you said it
<v Speaker 2>was bad for me, and now you're doing it, and
<v Speaker 2>you know they're going back and forth. So what we
<v Speaker 2>have here is the setup for the breakup because they're
<v Speaker 2>gonna have to face each other in Speed and that
<v Speaker 2>will bring on a whole angle in its self. I
<v Speaker 2>think we've got Lexus King going up against the DJ
<v Speaker 2>Young DJ DJ Eddie Thorpe, that's Ride and you know
<v Speaker 2>this is kind of a revenge match in itself. So
<v Speaker 2>but when Eddie comes out, he does his war dance
<v Speaker 2>and everything, and there's so much fog that it kind
<v Speaker 2>of takes over the ring, takes away from the King
<v Speaker 2>of TV. Lexus King, you know, when there's a you
<v Speaker 2>know a lot of selling going on in this King
<v Speaker 2>does great in that the whole angle they're trying to build.
<v Speaker 2>They're you know, they're going to do some more of
<v Speaker 2>these matches. So you know, Lexus has had the better,
<v Speaker 2>I believe. So you know, in this one, Eddie Tharps
<v Speaker 2>got to get the wind, you know, so yes said
<v Speaker 2>he's happy after the wind. And then Alexius King throws
<v Speaker 2>down on him, takes that cane of his and does
<v Speaker 2>a little whooping with the stairs after that, so yeah,
<v Speaker 2>not too bad. We see the riding on the wall
<v Speaker 2>with this one where they're going, and then after that
<v Speaker 2>they got a little trick promo and and tricks in
<v Speaker 2>the dressing room, you know, and there's a silhouette over
<v Speaker 2>in the corner there and who is it. It happens
<v Speaker 2>to be Pete donn. He's listening to Tricks interview and
<v Speaker 2>Tricks saying that hey, I'll whoop anybody to get my
<v Speaker 2>belt back. And I believe, Oh Pete Donne took in
<v Speaker 2>the little offense because he he tells them to figure
<v Speaker 2>it out. Something's going to be in his way. But
<v Speaker 2>I guess he'll have to to figure it out. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>you know. So from there they're going to go into
<v Speaker 2>ouraments with metaphor going against a shanty a dunnas uh,
<v Speaker 2>you know, with his first I believe it's his first
<v Speaker 2>match on in xt a veteran just like Cedric Alexander. Uh.
<v Speaker 2>But in his writing and his forte in his the
<v Speaker 2>way he does things is, you know, he kind of
<v Speaker 2>gets distracted by the ladies. So in this one you
<v Speaker 2>do have sober missus Jackson uh and and lash Legend
<v Speaker 2>out there both. So Ashante gets a little distracted by
<v Speaker 2>miss Jackson and he ain't sorry. Uh, but yeah, it
<v Speaker 2>causes a match to kind of go in a couple
<v Speaker 2>of different angles. But in the end they're given horments
<v Speaker 2>of the push. But they had to let Ashante look
<v Speaker 2>good in his debut and coming out here. So or
<v Speaker 2>I gets the uh gets the you know, gets the win,
<v Speaker 2>and then gets the mic and does a little little
<v Speaker 2>mike time there. But uh, you know, from there, we've
<v Speaker 2>got Tony d and he's talking to the no Catch
<v Speaker 2>Quarter Crew, and of course they have are in Saint
<v Speaker 2>Clair that's trying to force her way into the No
<v Speaker 2>Quarter Catch crew and uh so the guys are playing
<v Speaker 2>this out, you know, not so bad at writing, and
<v Speaker 2>they're all kind of playing their roles. Uh. But she
<v Speaker 2>says that she's got to win this match that's coming
<v Speaker 2>up with Carly Bright, and uh, neither one of these
<v Speaker 2>ladies are at the top of their game. They both
<v Speaker 2>need uh you know, and you got Kendall outside with
<v Speaker 2>a Harley, so you're gonna have a few angles in
<v Speaker 2>this and of course the No Quarter Catch Crew can't
<v Speaker 2>let her lose. And this match not's so good. That's
<v Speaker 2>the reason they needed the outside atmosphere because this match
<v Speaker 2>was not gonna be pretty, and it wasn't, but the
<v Speaker 2>outside antics, you know, kind of add to it get
<v Speaker 2>you through the match. And of course No Quarter is
<v Speaker 2>gonna pull off a little something something at the end
<v Speaker 2>when Dempsey puts a little weight on Ren and keeps
<v Speaker 2>her from being able to be kicked out in a
<v Speaker 2>pin and then we're in. We'ren wins, so yeah, Dempsey
<v Speaker 2>helps with the win and the go and then then
<v Speaker 2>we got a Hank and Tank we got a Hank
<v Speaker 2>and Tank siding, and you know they cut out good promo,
<v Speaker 2>you know, not so bad. I mean they're given a
<v Speaker 2>spot to do and they do it as well as
<v Speaker 2>they can, you know, so and it goes into Nathan
<v Speaker 2>and Axiom after that. So it's a big wow. That
<v Speaker 2>is the first time I've had a delivery while doing
<v Speaker 2>a show, and my animals just went buz zirk. We
<v Speaker 2>will go back. That's the deal with doing a rescue.
<v Speaker 2>We've got six dogs inside, two dogs outside and five cats. Hey,
<v Speaker 2>so yeah, when they get going, it can get a
<v Speaker 2>little loud. But back to the match. The match, no good,
<v Speaker 2>Dempsey helps her win. Bam, that was the way that
<v Speaker 2>was going. Let's see. That got really through me often
<v Speaker 2>and we had to Hank and Tank. Then yeah, we
<v Speaker 2>have Chase you doing a promo. And what they're doing
<v Speaker 2>is THEA is doing a big time interview, which Roxanne
<v Speaker 2>will later be really ticked off about. But uh you know,
<v Speaker 2>they're all getting ready to watch the do this interview,
<v Speaker 2>and then then Grid shows up and he's a redesigned
<v Speaker 2>Chase Hu's logo and the shirts and you would think
<v Speaker 2>that would be a problem, but uh no, no, no,
<v Speaker 2>and then uh, you know, THEA does her interview and
<v Speaker 2>talks about the title match, and you know it's okay.
<v Speaker 2>You know there they got a little something something going there.
<v Speaker 2>But uh, from there we've got Trick going against and
<v Speaker 2>Trick's gonna but Cedric Alexander, a veteran, a true veteran,
<v Speaker 2>going up against Trick in this one, and uh, you
<v Speaker 2>can definitely tell now Trick has gotten so much better.
<v Speaker 2>He's nowhere where he needs to be nowhere. But from
<v Speaker 2>when they put the strap on him to now, I
<v Speaker 2>think he's gotten better. His timing's gotten better. I mean
<v Speaker 2>that just comes with more time in the ring, working
<v Speaker 2>with different people, having to adjust and Cedric, you know,
<v Speaker 2>for a little while there, Cedric's kind of schoolroom. But
<v Speaker 2>then Trick gets to do his moves, you know, get
<v Speaker 2>his offense going in. Trick cells you know, pretty good
<v Speaker 2>in here, but he's so much bigger. That's where Cedric's
<v Speaker 2>got to use his speed and his IQ in the ring,
<v Speaker 2>in which he does, which he does. But at one
<v Speaker 2>point in time, Cedric puts Trick in the corner and
<v Speaker 2>tries to give him one of those loud slaps across
<v Speaker 2>the chest and it is like silence. It's like silence.
<v Speaker 2>Then he does it again and it's like the trick
<v Speaker 2>pulls them around and they take over like that. But this, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>for a while, this was kind of like a training match.
<v Speaker 2>But in the end, you know who's going to take
<v Speaker 2>the win, you know, but you know then you know,
<v Speaker 2>Cedric took it to him. So pretty good match, you know,
<v Speaker 2>pretty good match, can't I can't really say anything bad
<v Speaker 2>but afterwards, but afterwards, mister pet Dunn, mister Pete Dunn
<v Speaker 2>jumps him, doesn't, you know, stomp on his fingers bad
<v Speaker 2>or nothing like that, but jumps him and tells him,
<v Speaker 2>you know, now he's figured it out. Pete Dunn is
<v Speaker 2>coming for him. So that will be the match. I'm
<v Speaker 2>sure next week it will be Pete Dunn. I'm sure
<v Speaker 2>against trick. Will you have whoop trick? But we will see.
<v Speaker 2>And then they got a little little thing they do
<v Speaker 2>with Stevie and mister Stone, you know, kind of comical,
<v Speaker 2>kind of you know, it is what it is, and
<v Speaker 2>they're doing it with Ethan Page and they're out in
<v Speaker 2>front of Eva's office and so fortunately Ava doesn't come.
<v Speaker 2>I mean no, I mean she doesn't appear so uh yeah,
<v Speaker 2>they do a little thing after that. Uh you know,
<v Speaker 2>well that be they assure Ethan Page that they will,
<v Speaker 2>you know, let her know that he needs to talk
<v Speaker 2>to her. But uh, after that, they've got soul Ruka
<v Speaker 2>and Carmen Petrimant's over kind of chilling watching the video
<v Speaker 2>games talking about J C. Jane and them, and then uh,
<v Speaker 2>how they're ready for this, you know, their chance at
<v Speaker 2>the Straps and uh then Lash and missus Jackson Simon,
<v Speaker 2>Miss Jackson. Uh but yeah, so uh they come out
<v Speaker 2>and say that they that they're for the Belts and
<v Speaker 2>there's some words and uh you know, so you know
<v Speaker 2>that's gonna lead to a match, folks. Uh but you
<v Speaker 2>know when they go into the match, Uh, Sol and
<v Speaker 2>Carmen are really good, really good, and Miss Jackson she
<v Speaker 2>ain't quite there yet, but she's good, you know. Uh
<v Speaker 2>but Lash, they haven't unleashed the giant yet in the
<v Speaker 2>women's division. When she played in the WNBA, let's face it,
<v Speaker 2>she's tall and she's good. She sells, she lets these
<v Speaker 2>little girls, I mean, she makes these guys look good.
<v Speaker 2>Several times I've seen it. So she needs a chance
<v Speaker 2>to to show that that beast that freaking off ripped
<v Speaker 2>her freaking and they let her for just a moment
<v Speaker 2>to win this match. They unleashed the Beast and miss
<v Speaker 2>lash Legend and she knocked a girl of side the
<v Speaker 2>head and does a pen and gets the wind and
<v Speaker 2>then uh, you know, and then gets up to the mic. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>you know, the ladies get up to the mic, and uh,
<v Speaker 2>you know, they're ready for the champs and they they
<v Speaker 2>make a challenge and uh, of course a little later
<v Speaker 2>through some tweets through VIC and a book of tu,
<v Speaker 2>the champs except and so that is an up coming match. Uh.
<v Speaker 2>Then they do a real odd it starts making me
<v Speaker 2>wonder about HBK. They put them on the TV, and
<v Speaker 2>Trick comes down there and they have a few words,
<v Speaker 2>and then Rock Sande comes down and she's mad about
<v Speaker 2>that interview I mentioned earlier. But HBK just looked a
<v Speaker 2>little but shuttled. It looked a little and just uh
<v Speaker 2>it just wasn't hb Why put him on there unless
<v Speaker 2>you give him some lines and let him add lib
<v Speaker 2>a little bit or do something, you know, nothing, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, an odd little promo. But then I've been
<v Speaker 2>saying they're gonna do this push because they believe in
<v Speaker 2>Joe Hendry, and they give him a heck of a
<v Speaker 2>promo spot here a little longer than most, and let
<v Speaker 2>him just go to town talking about himself, which he
<v Speaker 2>does very well. And uh yeah, so they're building Joe
<v Speaker 2>Hendry up. Yeah, and of course the Gallas boys they
<v Speaker 2>don't like it. And then of course somebody left a
<v Speaker 2>bunch of autograph Joe Hendry promotional paperwear on their chilled
<v Speaker 2>in the parking lot, which leads uh, the Coffee Brothers especially, well,
<v Speaker 2>all of them, the Godless Boys, a little upset, a
<v Speaker 2>little mod at their Scottish counterpart, you know. So we'll see,
<v Speaker 2>because apparently n XT believes in Joe Hendry, so we'll
<v Speaker 2>see where they take it from here, folks. Then they
<v Speaker 2>got another promo with Ethan Page and still no way
<v Speaker 2>by outside the office, but a referee is there, and
<v Speaker 2>the referee, you know, he takes the reft of the ring,
<v Speaker 2>does a typical ego Ethan Page type of thing where
<v Speaker 2>he's not bothered, you know, but he's bothered, and you know,
<v Speaker 2>they play that out, and then of course with the
<v Speaker 2>ref there, everything's set up. You know what's going to
<v Speaker 2>happen or it jumps in the ref does a pen,
<v Speaker 2>it doesn't count. You know, here we go, Uh just
<v Speaker 2>a bruised ego for mister all ego. Uh yeah, And
<v Speaker 2>then you know you got Towny D. You know, Tony
<v Speaker 2>D does the nook Worter catch crew. You know that. Hey,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I'm gonna give somebody in your faction a
<v Speaker 2>chance at this Heritage Cup. But it's gonna be the Olympian.
<v Speaker 2>The Olympics are coming up. What better time to have
<v Speaker 2>an Olympian on your TV for some ratings. So Tavaan
<v Speaker 2>is gonna get his chance against Tony D for the
<v Speaker 2>Heritage Cup. Tight or the Heritage Cup. I guess you
<v Speaker 2>just say. That's all you can say. But then we're
<v Speaker 2>gonna have our main event, That's right. We're gonna have
<v Speaker 2>the rascals going against the champs and Nathan Fraser and
<v Speaker 2>Axiom and the young Og Javon Evans because you know
<v Speaker 2>he's bouncy and you know this match is what you
<v Speaker 2>would expect. You know, you got a lot of smaller
<v Speaker 2>guys around flying around, and I got to say, in
<v Speaker 2>this one, the young Og is the big man in
<v Speaker 2>this match. He is the tallest and not very many times.
<v Speaker 2>He is the biggest in especially a six man tag,
<v Speaker 2>but he's flying around and jumping everywhere. You know why
<v Speaker 2>because he's bouncy. But he does good. The match itself
<v Speaker 2>pretty good, pretty good, you know though. You know they've
<v Speaker 2>got to give the Rascals a push. You know, they're
<v Speaker 2>the new guys. They just brought on this Cruida to
<v Speaker 2>go beside wes Lee and get get the band back together.
<v Speaker 2>So and they've got to make it look good. They
<v Speaker 2>can't let the champs look bad. But they're already building
<v Speaker 2>up something in speed if the champ's going to have
<v Speaker 2>a problem later on down the road. And in this
<v Speaker 2>particular match, well, Axiom gets pinned, you know, and in
<v Speaker 2>this match several times. This is a bad thing about
<v Speaker 2>having all those mics and being so I heard the
<v Speaker 2>ref telling especially Nathan and Axiom slow down, take your time,
<v Speaker 2>take your time, because these guys fly. But yes, Saxim
<v Speaker 2>gets pinned in the Rascals get the win. Uh. And
<v Speaker 2>you know, we thought it'd be over, We're going to
<v Speaker 2>go the whole show without seeing the Almighty the all
<v Speaker 2>knowing Ava, But no, they went off the show with her.
<v Speaker 2>And so they're doing a little spot with her and
<v Speaker 2>Ethan Page and Ethan saying, hey, look, I'm tired of
<v Speaker 2>this crap. I just need it over with Aura. So
<v Speaker 2>what do I gotta do. I'll put the title up,
<v Speaker 2>whatever I got to do. This needs to end, and
<v Speaker 2>for once in her lifetime, Avid says something right, says okay,
<v Speaker 2>we'll get it done whatever, and going to give them
<v Speaker 2>a match. So and that is how they end NXT
<v Speaker 2>for seven twenty three. And you know they're getting ready
<v Speaker 2>to go to the Sciphi channel, so they're going to
<v Speaker 2>have to have a big build in this so and
<v Speaker 2>oh yeah, also they did give a chante Adonnis a
<v Speaker 2>good sp where he gets helped into the trainer's room
<v Speaker 2>because he's new, he doesn't know where it's at, and
<v Speaker 2>he happens to pick two lovely young ladies to help
<v Speaker 2>guide him to the trainer's room. So yeah, good little
<v Speaker 2>build still on him. But yeah, they're gonna have the
<v Speaker 2>ornamental match everything. But they're all setting up going to
<v Speaker 2>the Sci Fi channel, so this is a big jump over.
<v Speaker 2>We got a lot of changes coming up with the
<v Speaker 2>new ownership and everything going on in here, so you
<v Speaker 2>know we'll be interesting to see folk show and then
<v Speaker 2>the one other thing that was brought up to me,
<v Speaker 2>and I got a lot of emails and some messages
<v Speaker 2>on Twitter. I don't play the video games, so it's
<v Speaker 2>hard for me to comment on when you ask me
<v Speaker 2>about the video games, but I will. I've got some
<v Speaker 2>friends that do play, and I'm going to go over
<v Speaker 2>and check it out. And I've seen some of the graphics. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>I know that it's really really good. But the question
<v Speaker 2>I've been hitting most about because yes, I do listen
<v Speaker 2>to Pat mcavee have before he got on wrestling, and
<v Speaker 2>it is just weird. Well thank you, and it is
<v Speaker 2>a really weird the backlash that he has been getting
<v Speaker 2>because in one of the I believe they call it
<v Speaker 2>plug ins or something, a new version, an updated version
<v Speaker 2>that comes out on this Still I'm not the most
<v Speaker 2>knowledgeable on this, but apparently Pat mcabe and his crew
<v Speaker 2>are involved, and so they get to either whoop or
<v Speaker 2>get whooped on in this game. And I've got a lot,
<v Speaker 2>I mean, over one hundred since this came up, asking me,
<v Speaker 2>you know, kind of pretty much my opinion and what
<v Speaker 2>do I think about that? You know, I am old school,
<v Speaker 2>but you're talking to an old school guy about a
<v Speaker 2>video game. So I don't have quite the knowledge or
<v Speaker 2>the opinion on that. I like Pat. I think it's
<v Speaker 2>funny that they're getting to go in there and look,
<v Speaker 2>Pat's gotten stunned by Stone Cold. He brings these guys
<v Speaker 2>up on his show, which his show is widely successful.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, if you're in the business field and you're
<v Speaker 2>going into any kind of business where you're going to
<v Speaker 2>law or whatever it may be, where you're negotiating contracts
<v Speaker 2>or negotiating a lease or whatever it may be in
<v Speaker 2>your field, go and look at the ESPN deal that
