Episode 137 - The Night Lords pt2 - Konrad joins the Heresy and does both a good and terrible job at the same time

The 40k Lorecast

On today’s cast we continue our coverage of the night lords with a focus on Konrad and the night lords through the end of the great crusade and into the start of the heresy. Where Konrad proves a complete inability to make friends with any of the other Primarchs, and then proceeds to make everything way worse. Followed by him deciding the only solution to him never fixing Nostramo is to remove it from existence, and of course their weird joining of the forces at Isstvan 5 (the part where the loyalists accepted there help, just why?).

[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast.
[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Portica, Laura Katz and me, John Barzati and Brad Jester.
[SPEAKER_00]: This guy today will be furthering our coverage of the night lords following mostly Conrad Curse as he gets weirder and weirder and weirder.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're like about what you just said here.
[SPEAKER_01]: You went with further, because usually we have to do like three or four takes because you say starting or including if we do a three part of it, oh, the middle.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I got nothing.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's something happening.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm running away.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so if I.
[SPEAKER_00]: And, but they, but mostly will be questioning the effectiveness of the entire nightlords in the horrors, Harrisy, because they're both really good at helping horrors out while also being terrible at helping horrors out at the exact same time.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is debatable whether or not they were beneficial to him at all.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, we'll get into that.
[SPEAKER_00]: 40-key lorecast weekly show in the lore of the warmer 40-key universe releasing everybody at 7pm eastern for all of you who want to help us out please follow and comment it's awesome that it helps our algorithm and it makes me giggle reading your comments except the bad ones.
[SPEAKER_00]: It shows me giggle too.
[SPEAKER_00]: I still people should feel free to criticize lord knows i deserve it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Brad does too but i don't i don't tell them about them.
[SPEAKER_00]: You also can follow us on our YouTube channel.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have a Q&A coming up soon that we haven't scheduled, but probably soon.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you like this show, we have no show called The History of 40K, which consists of Brad, myself, and Alan mostly just complaining and yelling and laughing about the old version of this game.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do need to tell people we recorded, probably my favorite one last night, and I think people are either going to love or hate it because it was just three people sitting around hanging out talking about, yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I had to edit that this morning.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a certain point where like the amount of bleach I had to put in a row for Alan was like concerned.
[SPEAKER_00]: But who?
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was great how it is morning like, whoa, we were going hard.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, if you'd like the sound of my voice, check out my other show Retro Recall where I talk about old video games and discover how hard they all were.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to support us, two great ways to support us.
[SPEAKER_00]: One, go to our website, 40klorcast.com, link in the notes, and buy our merchandise.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got some very enjoyable t-shirts, dice.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have objective markers, but GW seems to think that's a stupid idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how long that lasts.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or, join our Patreon, $4.99 a month.
[SPEAKER_00]: You get this show and the history of $40K completely ad-free.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or, still $4.99 a month, but with delicious wine.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because we're just this week going to my favorite wine country in the U.S.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not Napper Sonoma, because those are fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're not wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have lovely climates and great weather.
[SPEAKER_00]: But thanks, they should get out of here.
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not Midwest.
[SPEAKER_00]: I live here now begrudgingly.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to a place that actually has good line because thanks to climate change and horrible marketing, I think that Sonoma Napa are just too expensive for what you get.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I go south and I go to Paso.
[SPEAKER_00]: If not aware of Paso, Paso is a lovely spot south of San Jose, south of Gilroy, and it's a cool area because where it is, there's weird temperature swings like 40 to 50 degrees, like that much.
[SPEAKER_00]: So bring a sweatshirt by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what that causes is a lot of really great flavor in the grapes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, I mean, sometimes you create a spoil.
[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the region has great wine and it's a lot of really cool stuff to do because Moro Bay, Pismo Beach are right there so you can get to the ocean.
[SPEAKER_00]: You've got a ton of forests all through there.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would warn you if you do want to go around the ocean if you see a sea lion and you're not from the area sea lions bite.
[SPEAKER_00]: and they're big, and so it's not a bite like warning bite.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like eating is shit awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just like it happens like not often, but anyone in California will tell you I live there for a long time.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are stories of tourists to sign get really close to a sea line and discovering you know, three, four hundred pound animal with teeth deciding, no, you're not getting this close to me and then having to run away, be honest, I think I never killed anybody, but it's not really how you want to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a pretty embarrassing thing for your family.
[SPEAKER_00]: How they die.
[SPEAKER_01]: on land, yes or yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't get killed by an aquatic animal on land.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, but really cool spot, most Padres, National Forest, Pinnacles, National Forest are there, and a slow is right there too.
[SPEAKER_00]: Slow is awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really fun city, great food, great restaurants.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't recommend the area a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: So basically you get good wine, you get good food, you get good hiking, you get nice beaches, go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eric.
[SPEAKER_00]: Lastly, discord, join our discord, super fun place.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can get in there, you can request coaching from Brad.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's always an option.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can make fun of us, it's more of the option.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can post memes, get advice on gameplay.
[SPEAKER_00]: I especially recommend it because as we're coming up on 11th edition, two big things are gonna happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: One, it'll be a really great spot to get advice on the new edition, if anyone who either is playing and wants advice on new things or wants to start to play.
[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll also bring it a lot of new lore whenever they launch a new edition they tend to drop a lot of books.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it'll be for the lore.
[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be always still going to be doing a lot of that.
[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be a lot of stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Learning the game as of recording this we are about to have our first Friday night flights where we do TTS games with a pretty had them.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's that?
[SPEAKER_00]: We already had nothing, and then this is our big launch tonight.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we're doing it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, go on.
[SPEAKER_00]: Tonight.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey.
[SPEAKER_00]: Awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I should probably be aware of that, and I wasn't happy to visit.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, back to the cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be doing that all day long, or not, lying on.
[SPEAKER_00]: So.
[SPEAKER_00]: At least your brains doing good, then I'll be fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Abs would be fantastic.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm happy about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: But let's get back into it.
[SPEAKER_00]: As we said earlier, Conrad was always haunted by this weird, incomplete visions of his future, basically of his own death and an endless civil war between space marine legions, plus the death of a small civil war between his brothers is the big thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it is visions.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's, but when he says his brothers, it's not the primarks.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is, it's the start.
[SPEAKER_00]: He says brothers, it doesn't mean like, oh, yeah, I see Lehman and like Sangrini is fighting.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, he's, he's starting to see my clothes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, these visions will, we'll talk about it a bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll come back to either the straw that broke the camel's back for him to fully flip out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it first curves really doesn't understand them.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's, because he can't, they're not complete.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of a thing of a, if you wake up from a really bad dream, you're trying to remember a bit of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's, the best way to explain how his visions are.
[SPEAKER_00]: He, they're incomplete.
[SPEAKER_01]: So rare, awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: Correct, by and because remember, he lives through them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they become more, that's the problem is that he'll be started.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then as he meets more and more people who are part of the, basically the story,
[SPEAKER_00]: then they become more vivid and he just to Brad's point living them.
[SPEAKER_00]: And at first, Curse tries to change them.
[SPEAKER_00]: He thinks that these are warnings of a potential future.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he starts working to try and make them not come true, which starts making him go crazy, because no matter what he does, he keeps seeing them.
[SPEAKER_00]: and eventually he begins to have this like fatalist failure of like no matter what I do, I have no control with my own life.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he starts, well, it is even worse though because he starts to basically feel like they're going to happen so he makes certain things happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because he had a vision of it, but also you go into the novel and stuff about it, he blames heavily the Emperor for all of this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, exactly right, no one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I'm just I'm not in the fan of Conrad, but that one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, fair enough, but yeah, he's just like this is your fault.
[SPEAKER_01]: Basically you made me this way, you know, so yeah, he's him and more.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's in a whiny.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's super nutty.
[SPEAKER_00]: He gets me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and I'm doing air quotes and because I still don't believe he died to that stupid assassin, but whatever the cut is head off and how does head.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sancent never comes back and they're also the video feed cuts.
[SPEAKER_00]: But when what's his nuts catches up with his ass, and he has his head anywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: Legitly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right Brad info wars Chester anyway.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um
[SPEAKER_00]: own by the onion now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you don't get all your news from the onion.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's silly.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do have a print subscription to the onion, by the way.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love every onion all the time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, right.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's like we're just being paid by them.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you'd like to support us.
[UNKNOWN]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will take a, I'll, I'll take a cheap, too, sponsorship from them.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I curse, and importantly about curse, though, is all this up while it's going nuts.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we talked about this last week, but I want to bring it back, because it's going to have a big play on today's cast.
[SPEAKER_00]: No drama.
[SPEAKER_00]: He never, curse never really takes a leadership role in anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just for the record, it's why it went into his, I really dislike him and I've always disliked him.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is not a leader.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, he has no charisma.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he is,
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's useless.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a leader.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's useless.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's useless because the problem with it is he just we're he refuses to take on a leadership role and the problem he never tells anyone kind of what to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just leads by example, but not in like the Lehman rust thing of like follow me guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just goes and does stuff and everyone goes I guess we're supposed to do that.
[SPEAKER_01]: It not in a way to defend him on this.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he's
[SPEAKER_01]: wildly the worst teacher because he's a primarke and he expected all of his sons to be able to do what he did because he got no primer course on anything and he they don't because they have stories where he does show people that do this and when they can't and no one just goes
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because he, because he, but he talks down to his son's quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right, but the problem is he never sits there and says, all right, here's my vision.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just does stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they all kind of go, oh, yeah, I guess that's what we're supposed to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just, again, no leadership.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like I get it.
[SPEAKER_00]: he's got problems, but he's just a psychopath.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is all rage and all hate.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what he is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like I actually think the galaxy would have been better off of he and anger on his switch places.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you put him in anger on spot, he would have been fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, you know, put the butcher nails in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, they wouldn't even had to.
[SPEAKER_00]: They wouldn't have had to.
[SPEAKER_00]: He would have loved it.
[SPEAKER_00]: He would have been hanging out like so what do I do?
[SPEAKER_00]: Just going to that arena.
[SPEAKER_00]: Go to real.
[SPEAKER_00]: He every day I said this because he's totally no butcher's nails.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, just going that arena every day and kill them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Meanwhile, Angron would have landed on No Strava and be like, oh, people here are suffering.
[SPEAKER_00]: I got this.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he would have like rebuilt it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.
[SPEAKER_00]: Instead though, curse just brings
[SPEAKER_00]: for and terror everywhere he goes, because that is core, curse hates everyone.
[SPEAKER_00]: That is his problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hold on, including himself, not an excuse.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to save it, though, because that's one of the essences of his character is you like, you can't hate me any worse than I hate me.
[SPEAKER_01]: And also he, again, his his whole weird with the emperor is a huge thing in what he does.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, not saying that's a big reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying out there listening to the cure and he's, but yeah, but you have to think, yeah, we're doing a cast on the night loads of cardiac curves.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's a huge deal about what he is.
[SPEAKER_00]: if he has the personality of a moldy, wet sponge.
[SPEAKER_00]: Ow, that's what he really does.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because it gets worse.
[SPEAKER_00]: The problem is like, first off, he's even, the other primarks also were like, ugh, I mean, they all found him uncomfortable at best to be around.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, like, Gilliman, you just weren't nothing to do with him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the best case.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, what do you think about this is, let's go over his relations with people because most of them just bailed and they didn't have any anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Then he tried to talk to Fulgram and Rogal Dern for a while.
[SPEAKER_00]: And oh, not Rogal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just Fulgram.
[SPEAKER_00]: Rogal.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying, but he.
[SPEAKER_01]: that he approached Ruggle and Ruggle is like absolutely not there's no scenario getting away from me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he did with Fulgrub, but the thing's in his writings and stuff, what he talks about his, he said he didn't have hatred for any of the other of Elvis Brothers and that long pause except Correx who wanted to say to Correx, you're behind a car with fish hooks in his eyes.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, yeah, I can't tell you enough
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it is that part is kind of funny, but I do lack because like Gilliman just hated him.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it Cause Gilliman was just looking and going like, so this monster.
[SPEAKER_00]: Tortures everyone like me.
[SPEAKER_00]: My legion is just like occupying and doing everything right pop the break social reeds boy.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to talk about who didn't like the coach Conrad.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have to get behind in the line behind Volkid and Rogel Dord who were literally posting up on their page online of the 4,000 reasons.
[SPEAKER_01]: And corrects.
[SPEAKER_00]: And a lion.
[SPEAKER_00]: The things, they all were like, this dude sucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what I'm saying to me, we're looking at local like did literally, we're making HR incident reports about him.
[SPEAKER_00]: They also are making him on an agron.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it'd be fair.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's like they're like, yeah, well, because I mean, yes, they were consistent about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, the difference so is that there was actually was some value they saw in an agron.
[SPEAKER_00]: The problem they saw
[SPEAKER_00]: Because his legion was just so awful.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was like these guys aren't even good fighters because they because the way that they fought they only fought civilians That was the other issue with them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, ugh again, so big deal This all to Brad's point one of the big issues came in the subjugation of Cartan so the nightlords are with the salamander
[SPEAKER_00]: and the people of Cartoon are fighting against invaders, like no believe.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a system and they decide we're not subjecting to the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Volcanist Salaman is along with the mechanic on the end.
[SPEAKER_00]: I believe there are some tightens.
[SPEAKER_00]: Art, they're gaining ground and they're conquering key battles and they're holding them.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing that hole.
[SPEAKER_00]: Look, you guys should surrender.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to win this battle.
[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, it's over.
[SPEAKER_00]: and then the night lord's just decide how about we make everyone surrender by just one night going out and murdering every single person in one of the cities and not like quietly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow, he woke up and everyone's dead, but like they took all of their bodies and put cut their skin off and then there was a lot of flame.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[UNKNOWN]: And
[SPEAKER_00]: immediately by the way, the whole planet just surrenders, everyone's like, oh my god, nope, because they went from an invader to a absolute nightmare.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they did, they certainly immediately Vulcan loses his
[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh my God, like how dare you, this is, we're fighting against this.
[SPEAKER_00]: We are space marines.
[SPEAKER_00]: We are all of these things.
[SPEAKER_00]: How could you ever be this evil?
[SPEAKER_00]: And courage just looks back at him and just goes, no, like this is what I meant to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: I am this.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Emperor made me.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I'm supposed to be, don't I?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, this is, yeah, I guess the reason, so one is like, hey, this is this is Calvinism and I've always hated Calvinism.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'd have to give, so I don't know who it should be, has a degree in religion.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know someone does because this is the way they hit some of these ones.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know this one, this is early 20th century Calvinism like to a T, but they nail it over and over and over again with them and that is what they keep doing.
[SPEAKER_00]: You made me like this, I am only doing the thing that I'm supposed to do and the fact that I do it so well is proof that I should be doing it.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is his entire idea.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is the beginning of his self-profilling self-profilling self-profilling prophecies.
[SPEAKER_01]: the point of no return.
[SPEAKER_01]: He has a huge vision, like violent vision.
[SPEAKER_01]: He kills one of his remembrancers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but the architects have a lot of somebody that said, yeah, but this is his first.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is his first when he doesn't kill someone that is a bad hit for, again, he's yeah, it's a random person near him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: He descends into like a fit of rage and just kills someone who happens to be nearby.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is, but this is where I think he throws in the towel, though, and he begins the self-fulfilling because he has a vision of the monster that he is going to become, and because he keeps thinking his visions are just the future period full stop if any can't figure out.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is why I think where he just goes, this is me, why am I fighting again?
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and I think a key difference.
[SPEAKER_00]: between him and some other members of the, soon to be heresy is, Conrad didn't hate the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: Lorgar hated the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like you have people who hated the Imperium, like more tearing hated the Emperor and wanted the Emperor to suffer.
[SPEAKER_01]: There are people who hated the Emperor, Lorgar loved the Emperor, then hated the Emperor.
[SPEAKER_00]: But Lorgar hated the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he thought the Imperium was something, it wasn't supposed to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted the Imperium to be a worship.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he wanted these things to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad was the inverse.
[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad actually loved the impairment.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just thought he was the Imperiums like, I don't know, evil, whatever the hell he was.
[SPEAKER_00]: He thinks he's operating from sort of, yeah, so that's where he was going.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't live in this impairment.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so now he eventually just goes so crazy that he kind of accepts the fact that the that his role in the Imperium is to be part of this revolution of the Imperium and number he also he that is saying he has this vision.
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember his visions.
[SPEAKER_01]: He thinks he can't do anything about.
[SPEAKER_01]: He sees himself as this monster and just goes, well screw it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll end into this if I can't do anything about it, I'll be the best at being the worst effective.
[SPEAKER_00]: The next piece that happens gets a little bit weird timeline-wise, though, because now we're going to get a few things happen back to back and they're going to not make a lot of sense and candidly they just don't.
[SPEAKER_00]: So.
[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, he has this fit of rage, and full-groom sees it, and he's just freaking out, and he finally confides in the full-groom of what's going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: He says the full-groom, yeah, I can see the future, which the full-groom understands because Sanguineus can't couple them have these abilities.
[SPEAKER_00]: And in the future, I see a civil war, a civil war between all of us, like the, it's a forever war.
[SPEAKER_00]: We are all going to be fighting forever.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, blah, blah, blah, blah, and full-groom,
[SPEAKER_00]: doesn't, it just goes, oh, that's weird.
[SPEAKER_00]: And moves on, but doesn't know what to do with it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And does the really smart thing of going and telling Rogol to go really smart thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, smart.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's wait, she's doing it.
[SPEAKER_00]: For people who forget, the reason the Black Templars come from Imperial fists is because Rogol Dorn is really pro-emper and rules.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like Gilliman is rules in the sense of Excel spreadsheet TPS reports.
[SPEAKER_00]: Rocal Dorn is like really hardcore Imperium rules, like the Imperium is it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will do anything for the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's probably your most lawful good of all of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he'll do horrible things as part of being lawful good.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he is there.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Fulgram goes to him and says, hey, Conrad, you know, the guy we all hate, and especially you hate, is saying that we're all gonna have a civil war and try and kill each other.
[SPEAKER_00]: And oh, and by the way, it's the Emperor's fault.
[SPEAKER_00]: During doesn't take that great, and immediately assumes, in my opinion, that Conrad's line and is badmouthing the Emperor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, pause on this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Dorn is pretty heavily, not pro-conra.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is not a good, this is not a good start.
[SPEAKER_00]: Dorn was looking at the reason the punch counter.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just got to even, I really good reason.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Dorn goes storming off to go confront Conra.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason I don't like doing it because he can probably stop part of this, we're getting ready for it, but during then we don't know what happens, but loses said fight to Conrad.
[SPEAKER_00]: How none of us, Conrad wins by the way, a lot of fights he should not win.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's just kind of a theme in Conrad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because Dorn, as we talked numerous on bread, is not a fan of Dorn, but Dorn's probably the most bad ass of all of the primarx story, but it is a M. F. Like that dude's doing.
[SPEAKER_00]: My opinion, I think one on one, now that's Sanguine, it's Dorn or Sanguineus are probably the two top fighters.
[SPEAKER_00]: But that's why I'm saying like if a time of the hair is seen not including demon infused, I think it probably is those are the top two fighters at this time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, curse rucks in the end and part of his honor guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they come in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: His honor guard's lying dead.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's lying on the floor and curse tries to basically run away.
[SPEAKER_00]: But luckily they
[SPEAKER_00]: his door in the honor guard do grab him and capture cursed because now they can capture him.
[SPEAKER_00]: He jacks up Dorn and the honor guard next to Dorn, but the extra honor guard get him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because in curse, I guess they say the better part about this, I love this because
[SPEAKER_01]: Curse is basically like, uh, what have I done kind of like, uh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And, but, well, he first of his super pissed because he thought he had at least some sort of confident on in full-groom.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the background of immediately tells what of the people that for sure hates him, something he said in confidence.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then they effectively let themselves be locked up.
[SPEAKER_00]: And for like two seconds though, because it's funny, this part's hilarious because she gets locked up and then while locked up, they're basically accusing them of being a traitor.
[SPEAKER_00]: and they use as evidence of him being a trader, the fact that no stramo has fallen back into being a nightmare zone, which Caldera does not have any idea about how it's his home work.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm well aware that he should scanner should also work, John.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Conreds one of those people.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know people are like this, but you do as how many unready emails he must have had at this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like more than old man Bradford.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, old man Bradford, it can't gmail.com.
[SPEAKER_00]: Has less unread emails than Conrad did at this stage.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like what?
[SPEAKER_01]: So he just knew he was Conrad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Curse nighthunter at aim.com.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he discovers that, oh, no, drama fell back.
[SPEAKER_00]: As we goes, what?
[SPEAKER_00]: No drama fell and decides, I don't like being in this prison anymore and just leaves the prison.
[SPEAKER_01]: Instantly gets out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It cracks me because it's like, you do one of the things where, what was the sin city where you got to tie it up but they're just being a game and he goes, we don't think he did it.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, all right, cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he just breaks out of his bonds, walks away.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just walks away.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I assume that's what kind of it is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, y'all just does kill a bunch of studies on the way out.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there I say this, because we're gonna get back to the story a little bit, just real quick, he just tried to kill Dorn, did kill a bunch of Dorn's honor guard, and then kill the bunch of other I assume imperial fists.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just keep that for your memory in a little bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he then escapes makes a quick phone call to other night, Lord.
[SPEAKER_00]: They say, hey, someone come pick me up.
[SPEAKER_00]: I need a ride.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he takes the entire legion back the Dostrabo and goes, hey guys, I'm not super happy with what's going on here.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, that doesn't really get said because what he does instead of that, I assume he just yells this in the in the in the command room of his ship.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he decides to somehow find the hole that they covered up with a manhole from when he first got on the planet and blows the shit out of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so he decides that because the core of no straw most made of adamantium, like just cannot get over the stupidity of that, just bombing it from space won't do enough.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he fires a photon torpedo, I don't care, made of an impossibility into the hole that was dug when he landed on the planet, into the core of the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: So no straw mode no longer exists in blows it up.
[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, the Emperor finds out about this not happy.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, just keep track of this.
[SPEAKER_00]: He has tried to kill Dorn.
[SPEAKER_00]: He has killed a bunch of Dorn's honor guard.
[SPEAKER_00]: He has killed other authorities.
[SPEAKER_00]: He has now blown up his home planet, which was a high-world producing for the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: also billions of people on that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, while this occurs is fun three happens, okay?
[SPEAKER_00]: And the call goes out, we need help for us to on five.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Conrad shows up and there's, oh, hey, guys, I'll help you out on this fun five.
[SPEAKER_00]: And everyone goes, yeah, we would love to have your assistance here.
[SPEAKER_01]: what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing bad can happen from what's how this is the thing like in all the writings that they did why why did they do this?
[SPEAKER_00]: Why did they have them be part of this?
[SPEAKER_01]: I said if you look at through the wiki's and some of the books and some of the writings in the old codex is they always say the same line which is a ton red became susceptible to the whispers of the war.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're like
[SPEAKER_01]: Bro, he's been, he's got a direct line to the game and to the game and to the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, for what's mine I thought.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even like, here's a thing like, he may not even been chaos, but he was trader.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all on getting it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's entirely possible.
[SPEAKER_00]: This stage, he's not chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's not on the side of the case.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was already a trader.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we were like, oh, hey, we're going to kill some traders.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, other trader, you want to help us kill the trader?
[SPEAKER_00]: What are we doing?
[SPEAKER_00]: What are we doing?
[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, surprised the price is on the wrong side.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now the battle at his fun five is interesting.
[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't actually do much as fun five because nightlords really don't do a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: The only little incident is he has a little quick tiff with Corax and stops Corax from killing the full grum.
[SPEAKER_00]: Remembering correctly?
[SPEAKER_00]: That's about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he disappears for a bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: I till later harasses Correx.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it was more because he just doesn't like Torrex.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, anything else.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he fails at killing Correx.
[SPEAKER_00]: But later, he's back on his phone five looking around.
[SPEAKER_00]: He finds something interesting.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's this primarke, put a big one who taken a nuclear bomb to the face.
[SPEAKER_00]: And not, but, of course, he did literally to the face.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, the face.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then a bunch of vultures, then some chain swords, then some plasma, and kept getting back up.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so Conrad goes, well, this is just going to be fun and also rats don't like this guy at all.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, we're pretty big Vulcan fan.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: This was not great for Vulcan.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Conrad decides to just grab Vulcan and take him back to his flagship for torture time.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, can he always come back and just keeps killing him in more and more extreme ways and every time a Vulcan comes back and Conrad at first is kind of interested and then he gets bored.
[SPEAKER_00]: So then he realizes that Vulcan can't die and Conrad has this weird moment where in my opinion, he takes a fence to Vulcan's immortality.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's how I view it because it gets really mad about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: He gets really, really bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think about it because his gift from the Emperor is immortality.
[SPEAKER_01]: And his gift from the Emperor was, I crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I do awful things.
[SPEAKER_01]: You made me a woman's gift from the Emperor that which was it shows to be telling rats.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, come on, don't leave.
[SPEAKER_00]: Stay with the story.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, no, he sucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, Conrad decides that he's got this, what was me, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's all but hurt.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he decides that he wants to prove something to Vulkan.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the truth about Conrad for the record is that if you voted, if all the primarks voted for their least favorite primarks, Conrad would have come in between 15 and 17 every single time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone's, he's not 17, a couple times he is, but he's 15 to 17 every time.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's everyone's second is everyone's least favorite or second least favorite.
[SPEAKER_00]: Occasionally third is a couple of guys who do have two people they dislike.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think Lehman, he might have been third least favorite.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean here's Lee.
[SPEAKER_01]: Robles are always going to choose.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what's the mean?
[SPEAKER_00]: Logan, Peter, they're going to have their guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then he's coming in second, but I think Leem and would have gone like Magnus, maybe.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know actually.
[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad might have been number three and number two actually, but it doesn't matter.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway.
[SPEAKER_00]: But with Vulcan in front of him, Conrad wants to prove that Vulcan is also a monster.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he wants to torture Vulcan to prove to him that he's no better than him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's he actually says that multiple times when he's talking to me, he goes, I'm going to show that you're no better than me.
[SPEAKER_01]: If I put you in situations where you didn't get to be, I forget it is exactly what it's basically.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's see how no, at one point time he says, let's see how noble your heart is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's funny about this is because the truth is Vulcan, like Conrad, found himself on a broken world.
[SPEAKER_00]: and where he bore suffering and Vulcan went, I should help them all and he did.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Conrad went, I should kill them all.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why one of them is a good person, and other one is not.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's so.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's hungry.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so over and over again, he uses psychers to do this.
[SPEAKER_00]: He puts Vulcan into a coma in Vulcan has these dreams.
[SPEAKER_00]: And in the dreams, no matter what choice he makes, the people die.
[SPEAKER_00]: The people always die, the story changes.
[SPEAKER_00]: but Vulcan continues to try to do the right thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: He does and does us and eventually Conrad just gets infuriated and gives up.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he just gets pissed off.
[SPEAKER_00]: Next part is weird, where Pettarabo built a super-labyrinth on Conrad ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why did he build it?
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: When did he build it?
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he's got this super-labyrinth.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's designed to be impossible to solve.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because so, just assume that Conrad, Mini Conrad, and Scott, all left Vulcan by himself, we can kill him right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: But no, we're going to put his hammer that has a Trump teleport device.
[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't know that.
[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't know it had the translated.
[SPEAKER_00]: They just said, we're going to put your hammer in the middle of this room and you're going to be on the other side of the maze and you're going to basically be stuck here for eternity trying to get to your hammer and Vulcan went, okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then also to walk through the maze and went to his hammer at which point Conrad jumps and goes ah and runs over to kill Vulcan again, in which point Vulcan does do things flips the switch in the bottom of the hammer and flips his middle finger up at Conrad and just teleports out
[SPEAKER_00]: which was a bit of a way cooler if his button wasn't apparently a joke button and put it in the upper artwork at Mr. McCreck, like he was every part of this was good except he was off by enough to burn up on reentry.
[SPEAKER_00]: The part of this part that I find funny and this is not canon and not in the story, but the bit of this I would have found hilarious is if somehow Horace had known Conrad had Vulcan,
[SPEAKER_00]: And like that scene worked the phone rings as yeah, he was up horse.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just want to see what's going on with Vulcan like, oh, Vulcan.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's going great evidence.
[SPEAKER_00]: Great, you know, we'll, yeah, I wonder, I would come interrogate him.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a good time.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a good time.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's sleeping for a horse on this close to breaking.
[SPEAKER_00]: I might don't want to have you in a
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you guys I wouldn't be it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're breaking up.
[SPEAKER_00]: I click.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's how I assume no one knew we had Vulcan because it would be a lot funnier if they'd all thought he had Vulcan and we're golden guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Conrad's got Vulcan.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we've got him captured.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can use him for information later.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we'll use a chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: God's got some information out of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're lost in.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, where is he?
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're useless.
[SPEAKER_00]: So speaking of useless.
[SPEAKER_00]: Horace, around the same time, the sides that he needs to figure out what to do with terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the siege of terror itself is going to be a problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the Alpha Legion, he knows like their skills in a straight siege are pointless.
[SPEAKER_00]: But that's not where Alpha Legion is good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Alpha Legion are sneaking.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so nightlords are kind of similar.
[SPEAKER_00]: Horace realizes that using the nightlords in the siege of terror
[SPEAKER_00]: be able to do nothing.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he wants to use them to weaken the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's will help make his final siege better.
[SPEAKER_00]: And his first idea with them was a good idea on paper, but proof showed the fact that even Horace didn't understand how useless the night lords are.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm right.
[SPEAKER_00]: They did a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: They know that they took that.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are some angels on a journey.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's part two part one is useless.
[SPEAKER_00]: Part one is when he sends them out and they're going to talk about.
[SPEAKER_01]: Conrad going down to McRaggin randomly murder festi people.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
[SPEAKER_00]: And also because of Sofa is healthy.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get there.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get there.
[SPEAKER_00]: My argument.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think the night lords are actually wide.
[SPEAKER_00]: The horse lost.
[SPEAKER_00]: For the first thing he does is kind of funny, the nostromosector, despite the nostromo being gone, that whole sector still is all high worlds, and it's very, very mineral rich.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Horace says perfect, you guys are from there, go out there, flip them to my cause, so I get some supplies, and the Imperium doesn't.
[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty easy.
[SPEAKER_00]: No problem, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: absolutely no problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad and then go out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Soon as they arrive in the sector, Conrad and Nightlords discovered, once again, the whole section is warlords.
[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't just no strumma.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's all a kingpin style characters.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Conrad goes, this is out of line.
[SPEAKER_00]: We should do something about these kingpins.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the idea was, more of a global cop style of you go in there,
[SPEAKER_00]: But instead of Robocop, we get Ed 209.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't get those references, sorry, the movie's actually awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: As soon as they arrive there, think you should go, put down the weapon.
[SPEAKER_00]: You have 30 seconds to comply.
[SPEAKER_00]: As soon as they get to the Nostromo sector, they entire the nightlords break up and start conquering different hives.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they all do it the same way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Killing everyone in the hive who's in any way, shape or form associated with the kingpins and the crime families.
[SPEAKER_00]: which consists of the majority of the hives.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they sort of pacify the sector for horse and they turn the sector to horse, but they may be reduced the population by 70%.
[SPEAKER_00]: Meaning that this was not super excited.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and the production just disappears.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they come back to Horace, like, look what I did.
[SPEAKER_00]: We did just like you asked.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's an example.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a dog bringing you a dead squirrel.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like the tail is wagon.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're real proud of themselves and you have to go awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's know.
[SPEAKER_00]: And to Horace just looks at this and goes cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I can't even rely on you guys to secure your own section.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, that's part, it's kind of fantastic.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the next thing they do is he has all right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Still have another problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: The first legion.
[SPEAKER_00]: So there are two major legions that Horace is terrified of.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the first legion and the 13th.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Ultramus or 13th, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they cannot have those guys get back to terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Horace, obviously, sends the word bearers out to deal with the ultramarines and he sends the night lords out to deal with the dark angels.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he has to do it carefully.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because if the night lords attack the dark angels, that's very quick.
[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be okay, we attack and the dark angels go, all right.
[SPEAKER_00]: and problem solved.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like it should be able to it'll be a quick clap in the night loads of all gone.
[SPEAKER_00]: So instead he sends the night loads out to the thramus sector to just be terrorists.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not a conquer world.
[SPEAKER_01]: I like this though for his tactic wise because it is usually just crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: When he breaks the legion up to make it so there's a problem somewhere around the sector all the time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's a problem with this idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: The idea is on paper kind of good idea is we're going out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to just do horrifying things spread all over the place and the dark angels are going to show up which they do and they're going to have to go world by world stamping us out pretty easy.
[SPEAKER_00]: The nightlords will then run away and harass them some more and they'll just pin them down and get them stuck over there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nice idea, and they do this.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're flaying people alive, they're causing violent revolutions, they're getting the populations to turn themselves, quintessential night lord behavior.
[SPEAKER_00]: The problem, though, is Conrad, is losing his mind.
[SPEAKER_00]: The closer and closer we're getting, the culmination point of the heresy, the more violent and powerful his visions are getting.
[SPEAKER_00]: and Conrad is now to the point where he's almost becoming incapacitated.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's lying within his own ship blocked away.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the nightlords are effectively, the example is like the Minotaur, the original Minotaur, where the Nettlers are actually bringing captives and just giving them to him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's just slowly torturing them within his own ship to just keep him occupied.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he's completely locked away at this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's doing this, you know, again, Brad's favorite character.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like Bobby J. Brad likes this guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't want out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Gilliman, I like the guy at his TPS reports and conquerors worlds with diplomacy, Brad likes the guy who pulls fingernails out.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
[SPEAKER_00]: The problem is that as Conrad is separated, his legion is fracturing.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they're doing all this terrorism out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Behind the scenes, his legion has now two kind of bifurcated pieces.
[SPEAKER_00]: You have the Terran-born group of it, the original knife boards.
[SPEAKER_00]: These guys are there to still believe in glory and themselves.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't like this hyperviolet version of the night lords who are just slum, they're due carry.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just hilarious, by the way, because you're saying that the psychos
[SPEAKER_00]: aren't psycho enough for what's going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, their watch is going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: You guys are adding your minds because they make sense to it because they still came up with the other legions.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they come from the horrifying underground prisons of terror, but they still stood next to the first legion, the third legion, the 18th legion.
[SPEAKER_00]: They still stood next to them at some point and viewed them as equals.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, so they want to be treated as equals to them.
[SPEAKER_00]: The new recruits who came from those stramos, which can no longer exist, are lunatics.
[SPEAKER_00]: These are people who are drinking the blood of their victims and going, yeah, no.
[SPEAKER_00]: But those ones are looking at the original eighth going, you guys are weak and we hate you too.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the two of them start to, the kind of not get a long and start to separate.
[SPEAKER_00]: And since Conrad again is locked away, there's no one to do anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: The challenge is that the one group, the group from Nostromo, see an opportunity.
[SPEAKER_00]: They think, well, when Horace wins, this is great, we're going to get to have our little section of the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we can just torture everyone forever, basically building Comer with an
[SPEAKER_00]: and they decide that this other group isn't really good for them.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the original eighth, think the new group's not good for them.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as this battles waging in the thramus sector, they secretly start to undermine each other, not actively attacking each other, but undermining, not providing support.
[SPEAKER_00]: And not providing warnings.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as the dark angel start arriving, the dark angel start kind of speeding up for lack of a better phrase, their successes until it starts compounding to the point where the night lord's loose control and the dark angels now take control of the sector and the night lord's have to flee because they just there's no support coming anywhere and the night lord's grab the fleet and start to run away.
[SPEAKER_00]: and they do actually eventually just leave the sector.
[SPEAKER_00]: The lion, to say the lion was pissed off about what the night Lord's did, is like saying that the sun is in above average temperature.
[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta remember also that soon, the 900 pops out and effectively just keeps sending,
[SPEAKER_00]: lying on that that's later because it's very soon though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: You go into grumpy lying and then you go into I keep getting an email every day about how much of a trash fighter in the lioness and how he's hit and run again.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so what I like about this is, at one point, Conrad deploys a beacon that transmits an invitation to parlay with the lion on the world-cold Tagula Sola, Segual, whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this takes a long time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go back up just a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is taking, but this is why I said, it's probably doing, now it's years.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, it's hard, it's Horace Harrisy time, time lines.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's supposed to be like two or three years after the drop site massacre of that this happens because they're, I hit and run battle.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, they're not well, you're right, but he's doing what they, what Horace wants me to do because he basically pissing off the lines so much that the lines like, I'm killing this guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he does with the line once it and so I laugh because
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to make you come meet with me and I'm going to get your head and I'm going to convince you that you know, you shouldn't even be fighting for the emperor because I'm going to watch this.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to believe that he's going to talk the lion into just your right man.
[SPEAKER_01]: We shouldn't be fighting your everything's cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're not crazy at all.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: This was in effect a flat earth or talking to a NASA scientist.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what this was explained in a how flat earth worked.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what this was about to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, Conrad gets there, and the lion just goes, what?
[SPEAKER_00]: And Conrad launches into his pitch of uselessness, and pretty quickly realizes he's got nothing and goes, you know what he does have though?
[SPEAKER_01]: A bunch of insults that he does, will make the lion, man.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there it's it with Yamama's so fat jumps.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So then GW does, the thing I hate that GW does, that they come to blows and Conrad is about to win the fight, which again, no, Conrad versus the Lion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hold on, you have to give Crennett no.
[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't start the, he did start it by slapping.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, Conrad does a bit slap it.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's practically like, yeah, egg, but whatever, they get into this and I hate this story so much because somehow throw, baby.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Conrad's able to slice the throat of the lion, the cow, but whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just before now, sacked Role Doran and the lion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it ninja combat, baby.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and just before he's able to like kill the lion,
[SPEAKER_00]: in the bunch of.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then one of those desterly dark angels stabbed counter at in the back.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the two, but then my favorite thing that happens in all these books is so then one of them stabs him in the back and like bad stabs the back.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now like flesh, like rams a power sword into his spine and then they separate and everyone looks together and they all just leave like that's it.
[SPEAKER_00]: The fight is ends.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, hold up guys like like what I call time out and then everyone leaves and goes back to their fleets.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also we're going to be I had a little bit here in a second, but it is funny between this fight and the very next fight they're going to have because apparently the lion Sighted up because the next yeah does not go great for kind of yeah all the next fights brutality what is the seven figure death launch okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the next one is much more accurate.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, yeah, the next F, yes, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: The next law of fight is much more law accurate.
[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, after this not so great meeting, the night lord's decide that's whole fairness area sucks hard and we gotta get out of you.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they bail and the dark angels are pretty mean in a really stabby.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they decide, let's just go back and see what horror is up to.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they begin the translate and start moving back.
[SPEAKER_00]: They gather the entirely at one of the mourn of all points to leave and as are about to leave, the entirety of the Dark Angels fleet arrives in orbit.
[SPEAKER_00]: It does not hail them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just comes in shooting, bars blowing up ships and the lion is like they head of this going just kill every one, every one.
[SPEAKER_00]: They just just swoop, I want all of them gone.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so that he's
[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine the line but then grumpy line because he just threw cut.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I buy really angry line.
[SPEAKER_00]: What just by the world?
[SPEAKER_01]: What from what he considers the most annoying of the primacy?
[SPEAKER_00]: At this point in imperial history, the it's I don't know who is the larger fleet, but the two largest fleets in the galaxy are the ultra marines in the dark angels.
[SPEAKER_00]: It might be the dark angels of the largest fleet in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, not a great set up for the night lord, so of course the night lord just go, nope, and start running away.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is just to ask, especially whatever ship is closest to the dark angels, stops existing, and then whatever ship is next closest, stops existing.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just one of those things, something the inverse of the of space invader.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they're going to run away.
[SPEAKER_00]: And as they're about to run away, Conrad comes out of one of his like states.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's so deep.
[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, he didn't stab in the back of the power sword.
[SPEAKER_00]: And goes, no, turn it around.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're taking it to the dark angel.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's specifically to the flagship.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're going after the invincible reason and he decides to charge into the heart of the dark angels fleet and all the night learns half the go not all them good some of them at the edge go screw you dude and bail but the majority of the fleet goes all right and they go in I guess we're going for it and as they get
[SPEAKER_00]: closer and closer to it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's what's the plan boss and Conrad goes, we're doing a boarding action into the invincible reason where the lion is and the Deathwing Knights.
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't forget, I'm only taking my honor guard.
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys figure it out now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so Conrad,
[SPEAKER_00]: and his honor guard, do a full boarding action into the invincible reason where the lion is standing and death wing knights.
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't go great.
[SPEAKER_00]: The entirety of the boarding action barring one person and it's a key one die pretty quickly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad does disappear though in the invincible reason and the entirety of the night lord fleet that attacked the dark angels are destroyed.
[SPEAKER_00]: With that though, we're going to break because next week we're going to pick up the journey with Conrad again.
[SPEAKER_00]: because between what they're going to do in Sotha and Conrad's effect on Imperium Sarkundus.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, when he sits, we'll talk about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: When you talk a lot of shit and effectively, he does, again, the evil villain monologue, which they go, oh, we can still save the
[SPEAKER_00]: He also helps them on dad and that's the thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: He does, he basically makes it so that spoiler for next week, but you all know the story anyway.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's the reason sanguenious and the blood angels are on terror.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's also the reason that they made it go towards terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he does.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's the reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: Still alive.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's an idiot.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he's the as genius.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, again, it works out fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just one of those, whatever, to be fair.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of those ones where like, I like to be fair.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like the story around Conrad.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just hate hip hip and his skin.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
[SPEAKER_00]: No ****.
[SPEAKER_00]: So much.
[SPEAKER_00]: Ugh.
[SPEAKER_00]: God, because it's not even like the whole thing about him is it's not even like wicked where it's well he's really bad, but we're gonna turn around I think again my entire knowledge of wicked comes from robot chickens Star Wars 3.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've never seen wicked, but I but I I thought if I'm not mistaken that's meant to be a rip off of wicked and I've seen that a bunch of times because that was quite funny but wicked I'm just like you know I never like
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, next week, we'll do that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So until then, John Barsotti, Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_00]: Disguise.
[SPEAKER_00]: See you guys then.
[UNKNOWN]: Thank you.
