Mmm, hello, it is Tuesday, May the third, twenty sixteen. I had to look at my phone the entire time I said that, because my mouth wanted to say March third, because how the holy shit is it May May the third be with Brad Shoemaker told you have to hate start dold, you have to say like hashtag hashtag do you have to say hashtag sponsored? After the hashtag Alien's Day, they started doing things officially with that, like Lucas or the Star Wars people, until they did last year they did they're pushing it on Twitter and like like I'm not working around like last week or whatever it was, or there was there was Alien Day, like they took a day and like there was some number from Aliens and there I got. I got some press release about Aliens ship and then at the bottom of it there was this like a block about about Aliens Day and it was just like this naked just like, well, we want to try to get on that because it works so well for Star Wars, Like it just just read like this marketing asshole. It was just like we got to get it on that. Well, we got numbers, right, Aliens got numbers? What are you talking about Aliens Day has been nationally recognized since the late but everyone knows it's one of those Hallmark holidays they just come up with for you can sell more flowers and cards and fucking a little plastic face huggers. Aliens Aliens matter. Man, I feel like Nintendo sent out a press release too for like March tenth being Mario Day or something. The thing they were trying to do. It looks like Mario. I get it. I get I think like being in the Penn fifteen club. I think I think Martin is funnier than Marten. Yeah, that's good. Daniel got a real id ten T problem. I d ten Wait the number two hand? Oh oh idiot? Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, ouch, I figured it out. I'm not an idiot. You passed. You passed the test in my head. I didn't even write it down. Percent of people can't figure out this simple test. Are you one of the one percent? Click here and find out your i Q is fucking zero because you clicked on this tom Ass. Oh boy. Things are heating up in the studio. Yeahs are on. Yeah, we're doing some things differently around here, a little more action packed. That's right. Uh, it's it's like it's live to tape. Yeah, yes I am. I'm playing live ques over here. Yeah, so we hear the music and the ads for the first time. Yeah. The production process is evolving. Yeah yeah, getting close, getting close. I had to do some equing. So if the clips sound a little weird this week, that's why. Uh, we we'll fix that. We'll work it out. Yeah. It's exciting though. We should we should walk out of here with like a finished piece of audio, right, like, yeah, no post production, I need to go onto a server more or less. How's everybody feeling, Yeah, like, yeah, you've had You've had your time since since pack's kind of your back is probably in a better shape now than it was last week. Oh yeah, I'm feeling percent No drinking, no bumping, and wrestling rings now are in wrestling rings otherwise I'm like, dude, what are you doing? Oh yeah, I'm just bumping my front line. Yeah, yep, yeah, I'm feeling good. Okay, what do you ask? Oh? My ribs? My ribs were never a problem, right who that's the end of that. Who whose ribs were a problem? I've talked to mister Miller. So Greg Miller took some took a beating at the end of that show, and he maybe a couple of shots landed a little a little stiff, as they say, yeah, a little potato. Yeah. No, it turns out that watching wrestling for like twenty five years does not give you a good training for how to drop actual elbows. When they say don't try this to home, they're not fucking lying. Yeah exactly. Yeah, so yeah, what are you're talking about? You went two hours with Joseph Joe Brody. H that is true. That is true. I trained, but I didn't. I took an elbow drop. I didn't give anything before before you try it, do you think you know how to take the fall properly? I was fine? So yeah, I took the fall fine, as far as I'm pretty sure my body weight was supposed to land on the floor and my elbow was supposed to graze his backside, ye backside as an actual back not but but no. I watching the tape at point two five speed on YouTube. My entire weight, which I probably have an extra twenty thirty pounds since the last packs came crashing right down on Big Miller. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't know if they were actually broken but he was in pain for a while because I noticed when he rolled over at the end, I was gonna put my foot on his chest and like slap him. And he had like a literal like tear coming down his face and he said gentle, gentle, and I was like, oh, okay, So I just kind of patted this face and down at all. And I was watching from the back and I was like, man, he's really doing a good job out there. Yeah he's hurt. Yeah, so I've I walked out there dressed up like a doctor, going like I'm gonna get in on the fun and they're like no, I'm like, okay, Well, I'm gonna just put this step scope on his arm here so that the people in the crowd don't think anything weird's going on. Uh. Nobody threw up the X at any point. Did they know I sent him a bunch of oreos? He likes oreos? Was there an agreed upon safe word? No? Four hands? You're you're putting way too much credit on the actual planning on this stuff. Like I was literally running backstage like ten minutes before that final segment was supposed to start, and all the people were in their kaiju suits, and I was like, all right, has Aaron talked to you guys about what the plan is here? And they're like, no, we have no idea what we're doing. All right, great, awesome, Okay, Patrick, are you coming up here? Nobody knows what's going on, myself included. So if you read the run of show, it's pretty clear I was looking like the morning of Yes, he had multiple copies of that thing. People chose not to not read it. That thing's getting too big for its own good. Uh never big enough. Never. Vinceman had a vision Aaron tites can can heat the territories. They need competition. All right, that's all I can talk about that. I can't handle any more discussion about that thing. That was fine, That was weeks ago. Now. That really fun to be in the audience for them. Yeah, yeah, I missed that. Yeah, it's very fun. Uh, Jeff, how was your weekend? I was all right? Us new. Oh, I don't know I actually hold anything. I held a few things, but most of the things were virtual. I ended up holding as predicted. I held a Commodore sixty four c and predicted by by me, as told in prophecy, and I held it and it Sari ten fifty hard drive. What is what is it ten fifty? It's a hard drive? I'm sorry hard I was a disc drive floppy disk drive for an Atari eight hundred. Okay, though that was the one box I moved over the weekend. I didn't really get in there and and hold too much other stuff. I maybe held a box that contained a mixture of about fifteen game Boys, game Boy Colors, game BOYSPS, game Boy Advances, Micros. Yeah, there's one, two micros, one black, one Famicom. The famm one still in the box, but the black one is is the one I used. You put them all in the same box like that, They're gonna start breeding in there. No, that's what I want. Then I don't know if I get enough of them coming in and I can just start selling them off on even it's totally fine. But I don't know. I'm turned into one of those game Boy mills. Yeah, no, it's disgusting. I'm running a Yeah, I'm definitely running game Boy mill. It's actually a tapping game. It's an idle incremental game where you put the game Boys. You know you can you can get a game Boy doubler. Uh before it's Nintendo's next big iOS. It's it's really exciting. But no, I don't know. I messed around with some old Japanese computer games. Oh yeah, yes, that's right. That's super weird. Yeah. Man, he's waiting for a game to pop up. It's not ready for that. I knew it was coming, but man, yeah that was crazy. Uh. I guess that means we could talk about video video games now it's official, all right? Uh yeah, no, I so I was emulating some old Japanese computers and stuff like that because it's it's like this world that is kind of impossible to penetrate, uh from here, because like who knows what a fucking sharp X one is or the MZ seven hundred or the Super m Z, the MZ twenty five hundred. Let me try FM Towns okay, yeah, but before that was the FM seven. Uham is the company? Or is that Fujitsu is the company? Wow, heavy Industries. I never knew that. Uh yeah. And and and the FM seven was the thing they made before the Towns and before the Marty yeah, the car Marty Marty. They made a computer named Marty. Uh yeah. So it's it's like this weird thing where like I think about the American computer scene and it's like, here's nine different versions of a load Runner, whereas for them it was here or nine different verse of ZVS and Gallagha, and like, here's a shitty version of Mappy. Uh that don't you talk about Mappy that? Hey, look there have been some versions of Mappy that have been less than stellar. So I don't know, I've just been like kind of poking around into that stuff. Did you know that Bomberman was originally made an eighty three and it was almost asky and like, is this ridiculous looking game? I was actually reading an article about that, Like was it even called Bomberman? Was called? It was called Bomberman and outside of it was a different kind of game, right, No, it's it's it's like this, it's basically the same thing. But it's the single player Bomberman if you think of as on the NES you know, before it kind of just became a big multiplayer I think, And so like I was like, oh, Bomberman exists. For I want to say it was the FM seven that I was playing, but it could have been it could have been the MZ seven hundred. They all blurred together at some point. Uh. And I loaded that up and was kind of like taken aback by like the roots, the simple roots of Bomberman, as like this is barely a step above asky Art. Yes, uh, and I'm walking around this maize blowing holes in it and blowing up enemies. But also that was before they had thought of the idea of what if the enemies couldn't walk through the bombs and so like trapping the enemies like with bombs is you can't do it. So it's fucking crazy. So I played that that That was probably the one thing that I looked at it. I was like, holy man, man, this is crazy, Like this is like truly there are like some of these franchises that we don't actually know the roots of here in this country, just because we didn't have the exposure to those platforms from such tumbled beginnings exactly all the way up to his final form yeah at zero yeah, yeah. And I played some Super Mario Brothers special, which is that Hudson developed Super Mario Brothers game for uh gosh, which that's for the X one. I think it also came out on the PC eighty eight, which I don't have the means to play that. Dan you see him like he said that the colors are terrible, and it doesn't it doesn't have smooth scrolling. It's one screen time scrolling. So it's like this ridiculous, Like the control is terrible, the sound is garbage. Like do they try to kind of recreate like here's one one one. It's totally different levels, totally level. So so I remember back when Mario Maker first came out, I saw people trying to make the levels from Super Mario Brothers special in it, and I was like, that's that's a noble journey that you're on there, sir or madam. But uh yeah, that's a that's a real terrible game. Played a handful of versions of Space Harrier as I want to do. Uh yeah, I don't know, it's just just kind of trying to, you know, just just doing the knowledge, you know, yeah, just out there is there is is there like a big body of stuff that never made it over here in any form that is like crucial. I don't know that any of it's crucial, but but I wouldn't know, so so I'm kind of I assume anything that was crucial got iterated on to a point where it made it over you know, like you know Bomboman for example, Like you know, they're constant sequels. Some some version of metal Gear finally came over here, right, Yeah, definitely. I know. It's like, you know, there are versions of like hide Light and all this other weird stuff that did come out on some of those platforms. So I don't know, it's nothing, nothing necessarily like exciting to report on that front other than yeah, I don't know it. Ransom streams over the weekend on my YouTube channel of me going through that. I saw that. I was like, what's his what's his end game here? What's he getting at with this? That was just I had done a fresh install of Windows ten prior to that. I couldn't get obs to catch any of the windows that I was trying to get it to catch. So I was like a few weeks ago, I was gonna like I'm gonna play some track mania on the internet, and I couldn't get it to work at all. So I just was spending some more time getting that up and running and decided to stream the process. It's good to be at the ready, Yeah, it's good. Yeah, that's never never know, I feel like I'm always tinkering with like my streaming setup from home, and then I never do it's just guess, exactly spent hours just like you know, rerouting stuff and like in hooking up new mics, testing this out, new compression settings, and then I just never say it's a tip periscope. Ah, that's the cool new thing. It's it's good to do anything button. That's true. Just get thousands of followers that it's that old boy scout thing. I've always be prepared, you know. It's like you want to be ready to add a moment's notice at a button and be live on the internet. And then it turns out like never actually wants exactly how flight simms go. Yeah. Yeah, you spend all your time configuring, configuring, and all right now it's perfect, right, I'm gonna go eat lunch, yes, and you never come back to it. I think. I think that's secretly why I like updating firmware so much. Totally. Yeah. I want to be ready for anything that happen. I want to never actually use beta firmware and then look at it and go, man, I got okay, there's an additional button here. I mean it's nothing. I would ever want to push but it's here. Yeah, I am. Yeah, I think I'm comfortable admitting that I'm like something of an obsessive firmware update or yes, in terms of like I want to always run the stuff. Though I did come off of that insider build of Windows tests that's not firmware, but obviously, but you know that's that I did. I did go back to standard and Windows ten no longer living your life in the fast Ring. Yeah, yeah, life in the fast Ring went a little south with a few different things where like Killer Instinct wouldn't install on the fast Ring Bill and I don't know, I haven't tried it yet, but like I never got this was even before you know, even just running regular Windows ten, I was having this problem of fire Watch not working with the Xbox One controller. It's extrol. It's just kind of janky in general though, right it's I'm I'm like next free Yeah, I've never had it. Well, it seems like well on the PC, there's some specific that's what stuff on the PC that that is problematic, like those like someone co arcade games are exhibited, but also there there it sounds like it's it's relatively widespread but they'll work with the standard three Absolutely tons tons of games that work perfectly with the three sixty controller and are not great case of like there's a dead zone issue or something like that. That's what it is for those those Namco games. Why why wouldn't you just play with three sixty controls because the Xbox One controller is better? I think I think it's I have really I have one of the Xbox One Elite controllers, okay, which has a nice dpad, and so I'm using that on the PC. I can see that I don't know, man, And I'm using that to cheat at the Climb, which is cheap throw so there something. So you can't really change the throw like you can. Yeah, you can only lock it halfway. Yeah you know you can. You can lock it halfways. Uh. So the Climb, it's a VR game. It's on the Oculus store. Critech made it. It's fifty dollars, which is too much money. Uh. And it's a you you play with a game pad because it's Oculus, And you look around a mountain and you have these ghost hands that are out in front of you, and you use the triggers to grab onto the mountains. You kind of wait for the hands to open up just a little bit, uh, and then pull the trigger to to clamp it around something. So a lot of it is this very finicky like turning your head, tilting your head, moving your head just right to get the hand to line up just right. It's a it's a bad it's a bad interaction, I think. Uh. But anyway, the thing about that game is you have a grip meter. Uh. So it's just straight a metal gear, metal gear. Uh. Now you you when you grab onto a surface by pulling the trigger, the stamina meter start starts to drain you and slow the drain of that by chalking your hands with the bumpers. But how do you cheat doing that? So, as it turns out, so I have the the triggers, the analog triggers on that Xbox Elite controller locked so they only pull about halfway, which for games that aren't using them as an analog is perfect. It's great. Yeah, yeah, it's a shorter throw. It's you know, it's it's it doesn't feel as good, like it's a very soft pull when you pull it all the way and nice. Having these stops in the middle feels a little wrong. But I'm willing to deal with some wrongness for just like a slightly more responsive button. I assume that the main use for that is like if you have like a single shot gun that you just have to hit the trigger as fast as you can, or anything anything where it's not analog, you know, anything where it's just yeah, first person shooters or something like that, where it's like the Dark Souls, you know, I don't need to pull it all the way to do my strike or ever. So in the climb, as it turns out, if you pull the trigger just about halfway, you can grab onto something forever and your stamina never drains. So with the switches flipped to lock that thing, it's basically like I can climb forever. It's never a pro I don't have to chalk my hands, I don't have to do anything. Uh. And I think you even get a bonus point for like bonus points for doing half pull grabs, like it seems to it seems to acknowledge that that's like a way to play the game. But also it just becomes like with those switches flipped, you you never fall on the snow. So that's what was going on, And like because we show this during EPF, We're like, why is mice whining so fast? Like because it was draining period Like before I was like, oh it just misterstrain really slow. I think you thought it was a bug at that point, yeah, that it wasn't draining. So then I realized like, oh no, I'm just using this different controller at home with this stuff. And sure enough, you flip it off like yes, then pull the full pull of the trigger. We'll drain your stamina. When you set the triggers like that, Does it actually physically arrest? Yes? That blocks. Yeah, it's basic. It is. The whole thing is not zero. It's not resetting zero. It is you're flipping a switch that puts a block in place that prevents the trigger from pulling past a certain point. Okay, So that was so that would never work in like racing game or something, No, because you can only pull the gas halfway. Uh. And so but what you can do is you can adjust the So the thing you're talking about of adjusting what zero is and how it pulls and stuff like that, that's something that if you haven't hooked up to an Xbox one, you can configure some of that stuff about the trigger. Oh wow, so you could say this this only this half of the trigger something range. Yeah, I'm not sure how what the because I looked at it and we're like, oh, that's cool, and then it didn't really dig into deep because it's just not something I need. But you can do a lot of stuff with like dead zones on the Analog six and everything too. Yeah, and that seems to be the one of the problems with that controller on the Windows is that dead zone stuff seems just jacked or depend on certain games. So like Miss pac Man always moves to the left when I launched that thing that Namco just put out on Steam because it's just broken. So I don't know if that's a driver thing they need to because I don't think you can do any of that Elite controller configuration stuff on Windows ten. I think that's only one of an Xbox one. You have to download that app on Xbox one. Is there is there. I think there is like Xbox Companion app or something like that. It's there is an Xbox like app one those ten, but that it doesn't I don't think you can copy whatever you said. Like let's say I'm playing a certain game and I want oh my, my call of duty. Uh profile is this? You can copy that profile from your Xbox to the PC thing. I don't know if it has all the customization options on PC. Yeah, I'm not sure about that, but you can definitely copy it over because there's slots for like, you know, save different games. And then you know, there's a switch on the controller, so you keep two configurations at the fly. So if you have any playing a driving game and a shooter at the same time, you can you don't have to go into the companion app and fuck with it. You can just kind of hit the switch come to the thing. But I remember playing a game recently. I don't know what it was, but I booted it up and I couldn't get past the main menu because it kept like flipping through stuff. Probably that is exactly what that is, okay. Uh yeah, So is there anything to the climb besides what you showed on ups? Not really. Uh, it's I mean there are more mountains and stuff like that. You unlock additional watches so your ghost hands look different and the skin tones and stuff like that to choose from buy any watches. I don't think so. I don't know that it has any micro micro transactions, is it? Is it just it's it sounds like it's kind of the same thing from from Mountain to mountain though, right, Yeah, pretty much. Yeah, different layoffs. You can jump, you know, so you can kind of like make these longer leaps and stuff, and you know, wearing the headset, it's there's something kind of neat about it. But you're just kind of looking your hand. Your ghost hand follows your view, so you're you're kind of looking at these spots and like I said, some of these spots where that you want the hand to go, it seemed really hard to get into, so you're kind of like, just I need to lean over this, then that's too far. So it's just like this it's very very finicky in a way that I just don't think it's fun at all. Yeah. When I did a demo, they had me standing and they specifically were saying, like, oh, to get to that one, you need to get on your tiptoes. Right, Yeah, So when a tutorial, the tutorial implies that you have to get on your tiptoes and stuff like that too. So yeah, it's the game doesn't necessarily suggest that you stand up, so the first time I played it. I played it sitting down, but it's a little bit better. It's it's a little bit easier to do what you need to do if you're standing up, but that's it's not impossible to do it sitting down. It seems crazy this game came out without touch, roll or support. Yeah, like it seems like this type of game is screaming for for some kind of motion control, I think. But then you would be limited by the range of the length of your own arms. So if you think about like how they're designing the mountain, uh, you know, they would have to then like figure in you know, what's your wingspan. Maybe that's something that they could just do, like them all the way out of pose and then yeah, if you t pose and pull the trigger, they know, and then they scale the mountain to make sure that you can climb it. That actually, man, we just solve that problem there. Sure that's easy to implement. Yeah right, yeah, just slip a switch is done. Uh yes, yeah, without that game on a game pad, like it's it's viable. You can play. It's just like using your head to find these handholds is super not fun. And then yeah, at some point, like you pull it back even further, like it's this very simple, relatively repetitive experience that then they want fifty dollars for it, and I'm just like, like it's It's another example of like a lot of VR pricing being out of whack, and some of that has come down since the Vibe and the Rift launched, Like you no job simulator cut its price. A lot of other things cut down from like things that were like forty bucks or now like twenty or thirty. There was the hollow Ball, there was ten that that launched a five is part of you know, just a launch sale and stuff like that. Like there's you know, there are games to be had for Like if you look at like hollow balled, we have not done anything with We're gonna shoot something this week. It's pong, except you have two paddles, you know, with your Vibe controllers, and then at the other end is a pong paddle that can move and kind of you know and you know, up end down, left and right to guard kind of a three D space, And that part of it is a little maybe overly simple, but at the same time, hitting the ball with your paddles feels real good. So it's Yeah, I don't know. Uh, there's some neat stuff out there. I don't know, it's it's the climb, however, is like just seems misguided, you know, like it seems very well made, like the people at Critech, I think, like put a lot of time into it and thought these things through as to like make this game with the game pad and do all the stuff. But I still look at Go like, I mean, that's it still feels very thin and and also yeah, that's that's an experience that you would probably want to do with hand controllers, not a game pad. They were pushing the like leaderboard stuff when it's got like but who I can't imagine for all the zero people that have rifts, Like yeah, I mean what, I guess more people are getting them. But then I don't know if you pulled the story about I made a note too and totally forgot to go to get it. Yeah yesterday, So Dan, your dream of walking into a store and buying VR maybe closer than you think. Okay, now that I have no interest in buying VR, all right, Yeah, Oculus is shipping rifts to Best Buy. They'll have kiosks there for people to try it. Out and theoretically they'll be selling them, but they haven't fulfilled all the pre orders. That was the where the uproar from. But there's some there's some weird program where people who had a pre order could buy sooner, is it? Well, so you know what their thing was was, Hey, if you happen to go to a Best Buy and buy one, you can come here to cancel your pre order and then we'll still give you whatever the pre order bonus was, which is like the e Valkyrie founders pack. I think so you have to front the cost of the headset twice. No, I don't know if they would. I don't think. I don't know that they've charged your car. They wouldn't charge till the s So it would be basically, you buy one and then you know, I don't I don't know how they prove that you did that, and then you go to their website and say, hey, that one you're gonna ship me. Fuck you. I had to get up three hours early and try and beat scalpers on the day that they were available. Thanks for letting me. Yeah, yeah, I wonder how fast those things are going to move? Yeah, I wonder. I wonder it's Uh, it's weird. And I imagine that's probably a tough situation for Facebook, uh too, because they probably made some deal with best Buy to start on this date that they cannot miss because it's a retail relationship that if they salt it now then they'll never get it again. You know. It's probably like a bunch of money riding on them setting up these demo stations and all this other stuff that they probably didn't have much of a choice, Yeah, other than two more or less fuck over people who have pre ordered rifts. So like on the business angle, I'm sure they were probably in some kind of tough spot with this stuff, but that still sucks. Still totally doosn't healthy people who were high and dry right now? No? I bet it's been a tense few weeks in Oculus, I wonder. Yeah, Yeah, it's yeah, man, what a fucking what a mess? Boon doggle Yep. Yeah, So I don't know. I played a play. I've been playing around with that stuff. I got into a game of e Valkyrie that had five other human players in it, which might be a new high progress. And yeah, I keep adding, you know, or I haven't in the last week or so, but like, I have ten pages of friends on the Oculus store, and I never see more than one person playing a game. And last night when I checked it with someone playing Minecraft on the gear VR. Nice. Uh So, I just I never see other people playing anything on the Oculus, any anyone connected Doculus home like not like you said, not that many headsets out there. Yeah, but you would presume that these people would have the headset. That's probably a lot of reviewers and stuff that got them early. And it's no, it's people that have added me, just people in the week's past release. So I'm assuming that those people have their headsets and aren't just downloading the software early or something like that. But do you know if that Minecraft port works on the Rift or is that just a gear of vart It's just a gear vring for now. But Microsoft was showing uh Minecraft on Oculus at the spring showcase we went to. So that's that's coming if it's not, if it's not here already in some form, but I guess it's probably not. I see, you'll be keep an eye on like the player count once in his retail. I guess, yeah, I don't know. I don't know when that's actually supposed to start happening. But yeah, I mean, I'm I'm gonna keep poking at e Valkyrie here and there, just as as the game that comes with it for a lot of people, and it seems like the Marquee game that it would be the one to kind of check and see how many people are playing at a given time. The Vibe is just pre orders now too, right, Like you can't buy that, Okay, so no one in the country has been able to walk into a store and buy either head stuff. I feel like I saw people saying that they had ordered vibes after release and we're starting to get them. Yeah, but I say, if you buy one right now, it might be like like end of the month or June or something at this point. So it's it's the availability's probably starting to tighten up or starting to get more available, but not quite there yet. Yay VR, Yeah for everybody. Yeah, that stuff, it's weird. That stuff feels like it like it's it's weird that I still have that thing hooked hooked up to my PC and I grab it and go like, man, this is crazy that this is just here. But also it feels like that stuff came and went, like people were talking about it that week, and you haven't heard anything about it since. Like I get emails from people listening to the show, yeah right, yeah, get people emailing me with like their VR games, and every time I'm reminded like, oh, those things are just out now. Yeah, Like so I don't know, we're gonna figure were And rather than doing individual quick looks and coverage for a lot of VR games, I think we're going to move to more of a roundup format. That's a good move because a lot of these games are so thin that they're they're gonna be like five minute videos or something. So rather than than just produced that as a separate video, we'll do like here's here's what's new on VR this week or every other other week, or you know, kind of depending on what the game availability. Real top shelf brainstorming around the name of that feature. Yeah, I think that's good options, be happy, happy to see where that ends up. Yeah, I actually want to. Yeah, we need to nail that down. Some good suggestions on that. But yeah, and then I've been well, I've been playing a battle Born game. Yeah, battle Born for I all right, uh oh no, which is an Idol Slash incremental game wherein you play a kind of show Addie take on Tap Adventure or Tap Titans that has been battle Born skinned and themed. Uh. That then connects to your gear box shift accounts, which every Wow, that was the thing with the golden key faster right, Yes, that works, and then you get unlock a skin in battle Born the video game, like right off the gate, right, yeah, does that thing make you tap? I saw you tapping furiously? Yeah, yeah, you tap. It's it's not as it does the tapping for you know, it's more like a let's tap then this sort of yeah, put it on a box. No, you know, I didn't not come with I mean, I think higher level play. You probably want the box because you want to tap rhythmically, just you know, for your own sanity, but generally speaking, you just want to tap as much as you can. Yeah, as well, correct, it'll keep that happen once, yes, once you Once you purchase a battle Born which is or or two, then you have offline earning potential like you're doing in a lot of other tapping. That's being yeah, radical innovations, I might say. And and you know this this is only based on kind of a little bit of time with beta, and then you know, I played some last night, but I think battle Born tap might be my preferred battle bown. Man, let's let's talk about battle Born, can we can? We let me hold on? I get these confused. There's battle Born, Yeah, there's Overwatch Paragon. Yeah that's okay, so mobile, none of those are really the same game Overwatch team overwatches a Team Fortress gamp, Yes, a Blizzard is making a Team Fortress sequel. Yes, Paragon is Epic making Smite but with more guns, gotcha. So that's more of a mobile. Full is a full on mobile in the shooter, you know, third person behind the back sense. Yes. And then let's say battle Born seems to be kind of splitting the difference between the two where it wants to have this stylish, like character driven thing, like like like a Team Fortress. The class based. Yeah, all of them are class based in their own way. Well, so they're how many characters are there? There's like thirty characters, So there's a lot. Who's doing battle Born? Gearbox? Gearbox, So battle Borne Borderlands, Okay, it's I'm putting it together. If you play like ten minutes of it, you will definitely see the like, oh these are the Borderlandes, guys. This is a gearbox game for sure. Yeah, okay, yeah, I'm with you. Where people talking about like now the Battlebourne is out and like I have a copy installed and stuff like I finally have it straight. But there was a time there where I was like overwatched. But yeah, like Paragon stood out because at least it battle Born overwatched. I don't know, that's just you know, okay, same number of syllables, I guess, but Paragon was the one that least like stood out. I mean there were other games muddying this whole thing up too, Like what's that free to play? But that's the game battle Cry battle Crime Jesus, that's still not out though that they haven't shown that in a while. All these games got announced right around the time that blood Born was coming out. I remember, so there was like battle Born, blood Born, battle Cross, like, yeah, but that's this coming Fortnite, that's that's gonna be different. No, that's not a game. Yeah, now Fortnite is is a screen saver. I no, I don't know. I don't know what Fortnite is unreal enging Fordham they're gonna. I played on I played battle what I played Fortnite Fortnite about a year ago. Now I am still curious. I played about three years ago. Still I'm still I'm curious to see fortnit. I cannot believe that Paragon came out faster than Fortnite. Yeah, like announced a ship on Paragon was like what a month or two, a couple of months or something, right, like, yeah, well now I mean Paragon technically stalls and ship. I think it's technically out of June. I think you still have to pie into. Yeah, it is out there, like Fortnite is kind of know where to be. Yeah, Fortnite is like there are people that are grinding away happily playing Fortnite, I think right now. But it's all part of some India closed bay. It's super super closed off at the moment. So I'm not even sure what that game is. But battle Board is out. Yeah. We got a bunch of codes for it a couple days ago, a couple of day you know, it was okay, Yeah, but the servers went live yesterday, yeah, like last night or whatever. They did not they did not send it out for reviewers early. They had what was the timeline. I guess it was. Yeah, yeah, it was just yesterday. I guess that we got them. Yeah, they had a review event at some point. Yeah, Nevado that we didn't go to, did not go to, so we're all here about They did not contact me about that. I don't know, so they yeah that I asked you about it, but yeah, nope, they just sent out the full gamet auch codes. We're like, all not super deep into the game yet, but yeah, so, but played through the prologue, I played a couple of story missions, played one multiplayer game as well. Seem while populated, you have any trouble getting people into well, I was playing prior to nine pm last night, which is when the game was officially out, playing on PS four, So it was like people that ended up with retail copies or people that got codes early or whatever. It was. So it's hard to say. I will say that as of like nine o two pm, the servers went to shit. Y. I tried to get on about slowly after nine and like it took forever to get on, So I took that to me, Well, at least people are trying to play. But yeah, it's uh, it's odd it's an odd game. Yeah, I only got one story mission to them. Like I said before, the Serve first service start getting crazy. But the mission I played, the story mission was a very generic like go here, defend this point for five minutes, then go over here and defend this other point. I've played two story missions so far and they were both basically that. Yeah, I've played one that was more just like, oh, here's two kind of mid bosses and here's a final boss. It wasn't really I guess there was one that I played that was like, you know, hey, the thing you're trying to defend is on the move. Okay, so there was Yeah, it all I Brarian is gonna keep moving right. It all felt like very kind of MMO Raided inspired type combat design to me. Sure, Yeah, just a lot of like generic objectives kind of it was. It was a lot of like, hey, you're gonna get to this like random thing and then a shield icon's gonna appear over it as a wave of enemies are two up, and it's gonna have a health bar and you're gonna defend it for until you'd kill it, until you move on. Yeah. Yes, that that's the levels I played we were exactly that over and over again for sure. Uh yeah, I don't know. And you can build turrets around some of these placements and traps and some others. It is adversarial cooperative, so it's both story missions. Story missions are against a versus AI, and people can join in, so like I had some random person joined me on the story mission, if you do, like you know, the story public right, yeah, well you go through the whole matchmaking thing ahead of that, even where like I was in a five player story okay, hatch or whatever, so uh and then yeah, then the multiplayer has a few different modes there, and those are those are five on five and those are a little more mobili where you're kind of pushing creeps and you know all that other stuff. Sure, the campaign, like this is my kind of snap judgment based on like the prologue in one mission, but it very much felt like it was thing that they just made to introduce you to the concepts of what you're going to need to go online. I'm sure that's what they needed to. Yeah, but then that doesn't make it very fun or satisfying in its own right. Well, I don't know. I wasn't sure really sure what happened with the one mission we failed immediately the when we're like guarding this librarian than because I think the rest of my team just ran off to shoot people, and I was like, hey, we're supposed to be all right. Well I guess, I guess I'll find another group. But I played for half an hour, got to what seemed to be the very last moments of a mission, and then for whatever reason, the last thing we were defending had almost no health. So one enemy got through hit it and that was it. Wow, so you failed. Yeah, and there are checkpoints, but it's a full on failed. You can't you are done with this mission thing if like any of your objectives fail out. The checkpoints are only if you die and don't get revived by another player. Well, and you have a pool of lives that I think everyone loosen. The checkpoints are yeah, yeah, that happened to me in the story mission I played after thirty eight minutes. Yeah, so I was on this thing and this fairly repetitive combat. Yeah, and everyone seemed to be doing pretty well. And also, like, the story doesn't seem to like progress in a set order, Like every time I like started it up, it was trying to like have players vote on which story mission they wanted to do. Look at there's a boxing place that I assume we'll get checked off as you finished them said, hey, you've already done this one. But story seems like a pretty loose term. Uh, I mean there's plenty of at least of the looks of it. Yes, they're aready a dialogue in the missions as Yeah, there really is, uh that game I understand. Like, look, sometimes the notion of like bleeping out a curse word is can like that can be used to a humorous effect. Yeah, but between the two missions I've played, I've probably already had that happened six or seven times. And at some point you're just like, look, this is not edgy, this is not cute. This is like like not like a lot of the writing I think is is poor. I think it's like they tried to make every character tiny Tina, and I hated Tiny Tina. Sure, and it's so obnoxious and it just seems to be pandering to some kind of I don't know, smash Internet crowd or something. I mean, it's not like it's straight up internet jokes, at least not that I haven't seen a lot of those. It's just it's it's this weird like post Ratchet and Clank, you know, Ratchet Clank gets like there's a bit of an edge, but it still is kind of keeping going to manage. This feels like it's trying to be like two steps beyond that, with like much less skill attached to it as well. So it's like, you know, the main bad guys trying to have conversations like these kind of smarmy buddy buddy conversation. Oh, wouldn't you mind telling him that I'm going to kill him next? You know, like almost you point it out when you're talking about it earlier, Dan that like you're like, oh, it's kind of like Handsome Jack. Yeah, like yeah, not exactly, but yeah, kind of same type of thing, like the same the same things I hated about Handsome Jack antagging it, Yeah, are are on display here, which I guess makes sense, you know, same developer, all that sort of stuff. But yeah, it's I just, uh, this game isn't you know, And and granted it's it's a lot of things that I don't like about a shooter where it's like heavily team based and heavily class based and you know, so like people are trying to compare all these games that are kind of in the same lane right now, or in the same window, and I'm not over here saying like, man, I love Overwatch, but battle Born I'm like, no, I don't like Overwatch either. So it's on some level, I was probably never the target audience for this thing. But at the same time, like just trying to look at it and trying to talk to people that are very much in the window of like what this game should be appealing to you, Like, I am having a hard time finding people that are enjoying it or or interested in it at all, honestly, like that it's kind of weird, Like maybe it's a marketing thing. Maybe it's you know, like compounded with the quality of the game, compounded with the quality of the beta, which I think it turned a lot of people off, like yeah, it's uh, I wonder, Yeah, I don't know, it's I was excited when it got announced because I really really liked Porderlands one and two. You know, like some of the humor stuff from me the wrong way, but overall I really like those games. Yeah, So at announced, I was pretty excited about this, and then the more and more I saw of it, and then Brad, seeing you played the beta and everything, I was like, a, man, I don't know if this is gonna be great. And then yeah, playing it last night, like everything from like the presentation and UI and stuff like the way the game is presented as kind of jankie. And all I wanted to do last night was I wanted to do story mode split screen with my girlfriend. And they do have split screen, okay, and so you have to do the prologue before you can get into that story stuff. The local story option it says you have to play the prologue. So she joins at the main menu where it's got the thing on the right. It's like, here are the people in your party, She's able to sign in. She's there, and then I go to do prologue. It's like, oh, you have too many people in your party to do this, And I was like, oh, okay, well, I guess I have to watch the prologue or something before she can join. So I watched the long ass intro movie, which I didn't like at all. I just don't like that the animation, not in the anime. That's what I'm hearing from you. I mean, just the animation and the character design itself. See, guys, I think like, yeah, I feel like a lot of it is like a layup for cos players, because so many people love cosplaying Borderlands, and it seems like every character in this game is like, hey, cosplay this a lot about it that way. But is there is like one of the first characters they put in front of you is a full on steampunk character. Yeah, yeah, exactly, probably right, Yeah, I guarantee it packs Brians here. We're going to see well, I don't know, I don't know. Yeah, that's that's that'd be a stretch. Yeah, but we'll see. Well, so that the long ass thing plays out, and which is this long animated, unskippable thing, like they went and got some animation team to do this, and it's it's like this mix of it. Well I don't know, like I'm not necessarily equipped to kind of call out which brand of anime they're going after, but it has this kind of like deliberately jankie looking spots where it almost has like trying to evoke this kind of eighties mentality. Yeah, in a couple of spots. But but definitely like not Yeah, it almost felt a little like Samurai Jack to me or something. Yeah, yeah, a little bit of that. Yeah, I'll give them brons just for doing a hand animated that's cool. And like when when it started, I was like, that's really crazy that they're doing this, and I went got a new like I'm pretty sure it's a knew Deltron track playing over that that I want to say is about the game. I think they made sound. Yeah, But at the same time I was but it's his voice sounded a little higher pitched. So I spent most of the intro movie going like did they go find a fake Deltron? Did they find someone who could pretend to rap like Dell? Or do they really get him? And what's going on? And so but I went and dug through the credits, I'm like, Okay, that really is Deltron. Uh yeah, so I don't know if that's cool, but yes, that big, long forced thing and then the animation. How long are we talking? Like over five minutes I'd say the duration of the song plus some O. Yeah, And there's there's just not much going on, like it's just kind of a repetitive fight, Like there's no, it's not really. There's not really any dialogue in it. It's just like here's none, here's yeah, here are here's you know, animated footage of the battle Born characters cutting robots like I robot spiders attack. I like to see that stuff. But once that's kind of a number that well, that's yeah, there's there's more of it when you kind of load into and out of story missions and stuff, but not not a ton. Well, so that ended, and I start playing the prologue single player, right, and I'm just waiting for any kind of prompt or anything letting me know that, like, oh, you can have someone doing in split screen or whatever. And so I play for I play about ten minutes and then they started saying like, hey, this is a checkpoint when you get here. If you die, you start here. And I was like, okay, well, if they're straight up telling me this is a checkpoint, I can probably her join. She presses a button. What are you doing, right, she presses a button on the control her. It says, hey, if you want someone to join split screen, you have to do it from the main menu. Okay, well, it said, hey, here's a checkpoint. So I back out to the main menu. She joins in again, and she's in the thing and says, oh, you can't start this with her, and it's like, oh, what the hell, and so I had her back out. I go back in, have to watch the entire fucking video again. No, and then I start from the beginning of that prolog thing. None of those checkpoints were actually checkpoints. Yeah, they're checkpoints in like the like, remember this is like there are mobile elements in this game, so there's nothing persistent about your mission progress or you're leveling in the game. So if there are persistent levels and unlocks, that happened to the account level. But like, yeah, dude, like those checkpoints are not real, yea and so and so, then I'd like straight up beat the prologue very obviously puts me back to the main menu. I can start the It says local story. I was like, all right, Bianca joined the thing. She joins up, and then it's like, oh, we couldn't verify your local second player. She can't play, but I don't know. It said like for the longest time, it says, trying to log her in, and then it says like verifying her screen name, and then after like I don't know if this was a server thing or I don't know, that might have been I was getting I was getting some messages that were about verification like errors that were just errors that mentioned something like that, So that probably was just the server loading. I'm just trying to play, like I literally just want to do two players split screen, a local offline story. I mean, even that prologue gets uploaded, it to your match history, so like that whole game takes place online. But yeah, she couldn't log in, so I try to log in her hand as a guest. That didn't work. So like we just couldn't do it. So I just had to play solos on A Dwyer's Twitter that you know, he completed the pro prologue last night, came into work today, loaded up his profile, made him go through the I have that exactly not to crouse about all of our weird games press edge cases here, but yeah, I started at the office yesterday, played through the prologue, played through the first story mission, and did some other stuff. Made the mistake of assuming that it does everything server side. Yeah, you even think gets straight up is constantly saying like it's sinking your progress up to the server and stuff. So I didn't level but you know, yeah, it's tracking your levels. And even I even looked at the safe file on the PS four and it was like three meg and said user settings and I was like, well, that's probably just your control configure. So I didn't upload to that to the cloud and then got home last night. That's what it was. Yeah, absolutely, because I said when I got home last night, even though I could see that my account level was two and like I had leveled up a couple of characters, it said no local player has completed the prologue. You have to play the prologue. And I was like, I'm gonna go to bed instead. That's playing. But seriously, we haven't really talked about the game much. Well, I mean, what's this prologue stuff? Well, so, so that's the thing I haven't outside the beta. I haven't played any of the five on five multiplayer stuff, which I had more and more assume is the core of the game, right because it's the first tide. I'm on the menus right, Like, like I said, the story missions feel like just a set up for going online and playing that. So have you guys played that yet? Did you did you play a full match of that. I didn't play a full match of that, Like, that's the thing. I will reserve judgment until I've played more of that. Okay, yeah, you see if that's got some legs to it. I did play it during the beta. I did play full matches of the most player and it didn't. Yeah, I just wonder if. And then I started trying to I did. I did what I assume as a classic mobile player sort of move here where I launched into I waited through the matchmaking cue, got into LABO, I could pick a character. Someone picked the character I wanted before I did, so I quit because it wouldn't let me pick that. Yeah that's about right, sure, say like you can you can play the same character in the story mode, but in the competitive you cannot, which you know, I understand games are balanced that way all that other stuff. But at the same time, that's the only character I'm familiar with right now. Playing any other character I would be a burden to the teams. So I was like, well, I don't I mean, like, I don't want to do that. Also, I don't want to do that because this is the only character I'm familiar with right now I don't want to. I don't want to learn on the fly that Oscar Mike character, okay, the mysterious gunner guy or whatever. And so I started there, uh and yeah, it was just a thing of like, well I could I could learn a character while trying to also win this match, but that would be shitty for my team. Uh. And that would not necessarily be the way I want to be introduced to these characters. So until they come up with battle Born Champion edition, uh, I don't know that that's something necessarily want to do. That's very much against the situation totally. And I get I get why. I get why that's a mobile situation. And well, I mean specifically like starting a game with people arguing sure phase Yeah, yeah, there was no arguing here, just someone just hit the button first. And I was like, well, okay, yeah, any just like offline about options, just play against it. Not that I have seen something like I couldn't, Like I said, I So when the servers were under a huge load right at launch last night, it took me like five ten minutes to get into the menu, Like you can't even you can't even get to the menu without logging into their servers. Yeah, sure, so it is. It is effectively online only. Now, what happened to you with the elevator? You're playing with some guy. I'm not sure what was going on there. There was an elevator that me and the other guy in the mission both needed to ride, but every time one of us got on it, it started moving up immediately and leaving the other one behind. So we just kind of had a like time or jumps to get on it at the same time. I have no idea, It's just it's a strange some messy moments where like, you know, you're trying to clear out all the enemies before that are supposed to be attacking this power corp or whatever it is before you get to move on to the next like checkpoint or whatever, and just for whatever reason, the enemies weren't they were stuck on something or they weren't attacking. So it's just like everyone was standing around for like a few minutes. It's going, yes, yeah, that totally happened. We done. There was definitely a point where we spent like it was in the middle of a defend the core. Yeah, And I was like, Okay, I guess, I guess we have to run around and find the last straggler, to just sat there running around for like three minutes until more enemies showed up. It's strange. I'm not I'm not going to completely write it off, like I said, until I play some of that. It just it just seems it seems very bumpy. But also like there are the look of the characters, the style of the writing, like the universe they're building, Like, I'm not liking any of that, so it's it's kind of hard to to want to even go back to this thing. It was kind of I thought it was like some serious information overload when they were trying to set up the universe and all the different factions and there's like eighteen different characters vying for control, and you finish the prologue and it just unlocks like seven characters for you right out of the game. You're like, all right, there's all their abilities. It's a lot to take it. It seems like that there should be something in there that's maybe a little more about the character. I mean, they have they have text about the different abilities and stuff like that. It's not like they give you nothing, but it almost seems like they should have, like, hey, here's a little five minute thing you can do with each character, just to get a feel for the upgrade tree and the characters or something. But you know, if it, if it truly is a MOBA, then you won't actually give a shit about who any of the characters are where they came from. Oh yeah, because you just play the ones you like, of course. So yeah, I'm in the same boat where, you know, I want to play some some of the multiplayer before I completely write it off. But every single thing I saw in a couple hours I played last night, I very much disliked. Yeah, yeah, it did not make an amazing first impression, but I don't and it's hard to get sense for like where people are at, uh, you know, generally speaking out there. But it's it's like it seems like that there's you know, to bring Paragon and and fucking Overwatch back into this thing. It seems like the people that want a Team Fortress game, we're gonna play Overwatch. People want them over We're gonna play Paragon, and like battle Borne is just caught in the middle of this game. Like I cause players, it's a bad cost. Players want it cause players and gearbox fans like yeah, the same thing. It's a bad it's a bad release window for them for sure. Like, yeah, I've seen I've seen like no end of Overwatch beta code begging out there, and I wonder if, like what the fuck is Blizzard's problem with Gearbox, Like what the fuck are they doing where they're just like, oh, by the way, our beta launch is the same day. Fuck this, I have definitely seen it suggested that that was intentional seems nast intentional counterprook, because it was the last Overwatch beta was time Like similarly as well, wasn't it with the with the battle Borne Bay? I think yes, like I think you might, yeah, so this isn't I don't think this is the first time that that's happened. So it's like smart, is it? I mean, I don't think these games. They have a better game, And if people are confusing the two, it's like, hey, play this game that's way better than their shitty I guess, yeah, if people are, If people are confusing the two, which which I guess we have people have lots of I guess I guess maybe that does make sense, But it's like, hey, we have the good one. It just feels like this fucking callous, just ice cold move for games for games that aren't that don't actually seem like they're that close in competition for being like relatively good things. Yeah, like over Overwatched moves and feels almost like a Quake game to me, and like and like you said, it's very t F two style in terms of I mean, you know the the characters all have abilities and abilities like you know, they've mapped mapped to the c keys that move is used, but but you know they don't level up right, there's no lanes or creeps really like it's it's much more of a pure team shooter. I thought there was creeps, there might be more like the stuff they've added modes I haven't seen. Yeah, I don't know the modes. But nothing about Overwatched does anything for me either, just aesthetically and just like the like, but I don't. I also don't like t F two, So no big surprise there. I guess we did a video on the sight and I had not seen any until Brad played it and and that I actually thought it looked really cool and really over watches super solid from what I've played over and it didn't seem nearly as aggressive with its trying to put some style and hear we're on he or whatever. Definitely not. Yeah, that that seems way better, way different. I mean it's a totally yeah. Yeah, but that looked really cool right away, and everything about battle Borne I dislike, yeah, yeah, well we'll sit down and play some of it on the site. Yeah, spend some actual time with it. Yeah here once it's down the wild. Yeah yeah, but first impression midweek, but uh yeah, it seems it seems maybe a little bit rough for now. So all right, well, let's uh go ruminate on that a little bit. Yeah, let's go chew our cud think about that. We'll be right back. I was resisting the urge to talk about Clash Royale this week, but yeah, since since Dan is playing it as we speak, I thought you guys were peeing and I had at least three minutes. If it doesn't go in over time. You know, they don't mess around when I bee, you know, the man get it out. The match could go to four minutes. That's true. There's only fifty seconds left, Clash Royal. How are you doing? I'm doing all right? They did the update today? No, No, I mean, like right, oh, I've got one tower, although they got a Peca heading towards mine. I think I might mini Peca, a big, big one, but I just froze it. I froze it and three of the spear goblins. Oh now there's a mini Peca two. Oh, but I just said it was zapp. Hang on, there's like one. Oh they got one of my towers. Hang on here, this is straight up sports, Jason, how's your I just got a clean and this is not fucking helping her. Clash Royal uninstalled. Done that piece of shit. That's probably the right movie, gets rid of it. That's probably smart. Well, I have obligations, Jason, right the Yeah, that's true. Uh, the shuret signed to me that I should stop playing Clash Royale. Is So they put out a big update, like, I guess, the first real big update since it came out a couple months ago. That the start right when it came Yeah, I know there's been at least one balanced patch before this, but this is the first, like real big update that added cards and changed the rules and and and and stuff. But I have fully become the guy who gets super angry when the patch notes come out and they don't address the things I think are wrong with the game. What do you think was the big wrong thing? I Freeze needs a NERF liked, but Freeze is destroying any fun that I'm having with this game. Free not really, it's more just like, what's that Any changes to hug Riders? Uh no? No, bomb Towers? Yeah changed there, So the hug writers got through on time, which which extra sucks because bomb Tower was the best eaton to counter Freeze for me. I don't think anybody got my hot writers got through un touches. I didn't. This game is infuriating. I just lost, and I totally should have won it. This game, I'm sorry. You should probably stop playing it. Yeah, I can't bare minimum never talk about it again. They actually make it your secret shame. They didn't make it friendlier to play in the sense that they they you you earned small rewards for winning every match now, like twelve gold. I mean, yeah, it's it's not that much serious. Yeah, but you do earn gold for winning matches now, A chest just like drop more. Better chests drop more frequently and give more cards now, so that's way cool. You didn't earn anything for winning before you have? You had slots if let's not get into it. Let's not get into it. There they were. They were all because you know, it's free to play games, so it's full of it's rotten with fucking timers. And if all of your slots for timers were full, you couldn't earn any more by winning, right, but you could keep playing? Yes, you absolutely good, And they would fully pop up a warning saying like, hey, all your chest slots are full. You sure you want to play, You can play it, but it's a waste of your time. You keep playing, though, and you keep losing trophies. So now so now now you receive a pittance every time you win a match, even if all your chests are full, and stuff like that, which is real quick. And these new cards that they added are they for Senny Arena? I don't know. I got the little fire guys and arena. They added some little kamikaze fireball dudes that don't seem great. They're not good. I level them up and they're still not. They added a building that spawns those guys. They added six cards. There's some higher level stuff that I haven't seen yet. Yeah, mildly interesting, but they didn't do anything to the things that are driving me nuts about the game. So I feel good. I feel good like I'm seeing my family again. I know they're seeing my face instead of it being lit up by this dude. You should install battle Born Tap tap on the screen. I'm thinking about just for linking a ship to count, you unlock skins. I like that. I don't have to play it to play it. Meanwhile, this morning, I was laying in bed looking at the gym options and like any or should I just I'm probably it's the best, it's the best deals, the best value, it's the best value. I have also weirdly recommitted myself to Doomsday Clicker in the last few days. I have no idea why. Yeah, as clickers go, that's a pretty good clicker. It is, Yeah, because it's it's less about clicking and more about the numbers going up. It's it's a little bit less about like the just tap as fast as you can, or games like Tap Titans, and there's there's battle Born Tap There's something that I would almost feel good calling gameplay in it because there's there's a lot of management. It's yeah, I don't know, I just reset buy everything. I can and kind of let it sit for a day. There are enough different things to sink your coins into in that game that uh, yes, game that's uh. You at least have to decide, like there's some decision making involved, you know. It's like it's like, all right, I have this much currency, you do, I want to put it into this, this or this anyway, let's not talk. But they all get you in the same direction. So it's like the decisions don't matter. It's not like you're like, if I buy this, the money earns differently if if I picked the renegade option, I'm stealing the money. Like no, it's just you're just the numbers keep going up, but it's yeah, but it's about how to make them go up the fastest. Yes, yeah, if you if you want to min max your your clicker experiences, there are people out there that tell you exactly, here's the here's the build order, and here's the most efficient way to do all these types of games. And I've never been into that end of it. It's it's you gotta feel, it's about you gotta go, it's about the journey. It's a little more natural for me, that's true. Yeah, let's talk about a game we can all feel good about. Yeah, there are there any left? Alienation, Yeah, yeah, I think is a game that is easy to feel good about. I yeah, I feel really really good about that game, especially for it being like twenty bucks. Uh, you know, it's it's kind of what I want Hell Divers to be. I guess you know, they've seen a lot of people comparing those two games. They're very I mean they're different. They're both they're both dual joystick over shooters. Yea four player and okay, sure man, Like you know, it's super easy to pick up and play. They're doing some really really smart stuff with that game, you know, in terms of just like inventory management, being able to swap out your skills, uh, you know, rerolling stats and and and stuff on weapons. It's been it's been a blast. It's like Helldivers is more about like super hard co ops where this game is. I get that this game Alienation is pretty going by comparison, Yeah, well this is. But also this game is way more Diablo, Like this is a lout game, just full on, a four player, dual joystike loute game. I'm listening. Does they have a local co op I don't know. It was something that they they've been asked about, and I thought I saw them answer it. Maybe both ways. You should buy your girlfriends four and another TV get on that, but two TVs right next to each. I'll sell you my white one, okay, five hundred bucks that it's rare, best value. Okay, yeah, yeah, alienation is cool. I so I've played all twenty of the story missions. Like I rolled it over. I was like when when I heard you say it was like two days after you got it, which it was like the day before it came out, right, and you were like I asked you if you'd been playing it, and you're like, yeah, I finish it, and I was like, fuck yeah, like it must be pretty good if that's kind of what made me decide to go check it. And I ended up needed to play more than just the twenty missions because I found myself like under leveled for some of the situations really interesting. So it's sort of well in depending on which difficulty you pick, but that's it's like if you play on rookie, it's kind of it starts at your level, but then professional, which is the middle grade, is like I think it's like three levels above you, and then the veteran the hardest list six levels or six I think, okay, two, four, Okay, So I was I was actually found in the game like easy to the point of being kind of boring on the normal difficulty. Initially, maybe it maybe gets worse, a professional does get tricky. Eventually, I'm only four or five story missions. I'm in the second major. That's probably about the point where like between playing missions by myself or you know, you have situations where you join someone's because it prevents you with a list of presents, you with a list of all the games that are running on that level when you go to joint, so you can just kind of join up with someone else. So a couple times joined on someone else who was finishing the mission, and that just counts towards your progress as well. Wow, So it would be a situation where're like, well, I should probably actually just jump back into that mission right now and play it from the start to make sure I'm getting all that XP and right and all that other stuff. So and occasionally I would go back to the very first mission and join people and play on veteran there. So you know, it's it's twenty story missions, but I definitely, like probably played twenty five to thirty by the time I finished, because I was going back and just uh you know, grinding out XP or getting more loot like the you know you get a drop at the end of every mission you find stuff along the way. Yeah, it's it's interesting. You know, it's class based. Their three classes. I've been playing as the tank. Uh, yeah, that's what I started with. I started with the Medic a little bit for the quick look, because I was playing with Vinnie who had not finished the game yet, and so we were unable to play at all because I was I was on world level two and he was on world level one, so we can't go back at all, no exactly, So there was just no way. Yeah, okay, well, I mean your character keeps leveling up, but the progress starts again and it's just harder, like it basically like it raises the levels of all the enemies another three levels, no matter which which difficulty you're playing. Okay, so it kind of just like here it is, it's harder, and there's the different events that show up at the second time through. Are there any caps to your level as far as you know, so I think I don't know for sure, but I want to say that your level caps at thirty because that's when Hero levels, and I'm just gonna make the assumption that those are going to be similar to the Paragon levels and Diablo. Sure, but I can't say with any certainty that that's the case because I'm level seventeen or something now. But yeah, I don't know. It's a it's a good little cop game. You know. The shooting feels good, the weapons are fun to use. You can equip three at a time, so you get a heavy that's like a launcher or a flamethrower or something like that. Again, yeah, the Yeah, there are abilities that are pretty complimentary. You know. Obviously, the Metic heels everybody. When as the tank, you can give everyone a shield that kind of covers the front third of their you know, they're they're aiming radius or whatever. And then also that can you can set it up so it can heal you as well. So yeah, there's a bunch of different options for how you go. Is each character level independently, yeah, okay, And when you get ability points you can slot them into specific skills, so like when that Metic class, you don't even have to pick healing. You can pick the Raiths or something like that, which you're fucking awesome, by the way, But then you can change in between missions as well, so you can can respect and respect you're kidded out. Yeah, so yeah, I think it is like it's maybe now that I have like finished it and gotten to World level two, like I'm playing a lot less because it has become a little monotonous. Yeah. I would say like the whole presentation of the package is like straightforward, almost to the point of being bare bones, like there's like, yeah, there's no story. Really we're not really when we say like comparisons to Diablo are simply in kind of like a mechanical way. It's not like act one, Act two. You know, you're not moving from place to place, You're going back to a menu. It is. It is dropping into another mission. It is aliens invaded, kill them. Yeah, and you just get looted and play. I think it's way better than Dead Nation, which is the last zombie themed game that house Mark made. Way more than was playable was. I thought it was okay up until the last few levels, and then it just got to be too much, Like I really disliked Dead Nation. Sorry I was. I was okay on it up until like the last three levels, and then I was like, I don't like this anymore. Yeah, I couldn't see it all the way through. Was that one of the early free PS plus games? It may have been. I feel like that's been sitting on my PlayStation forever and I don't play it. Probably was it, It might have been, I don't remember. At this point, I think everything that was downloadable on PS three is probably been free itself. It was it was it was a PS three game, okay, ages ago, and then they did a PS four version of it, I think at launch or I don't know, maybe you might have ended up with a code for it or something. It's PS four launch or something. I don't know. If I don't, I don't remember. Anyway, this is this is good though. I'm really having fun with this. But like I, like I said, I was kind of getting bored of it on the normal difficulty, but once I once I put it on. So there's like there's three reasons. Basically, like they straight up show you what the drop rates are going to be on these difficulty, which is pretty awesome. Yeah, Basically the higher the higher tier, loot drops more often on veteran and like it's drops like I come out of Yeah, I've been coming out of missions with like six screen weapons and so I guess, Like so I didn't realize this when we recorded the quick look, but the respond points around a level. Uh, yeah, you want to run up and activate them. But if you I saw players blowing them up, and I'm like, do you not know what these do? That's a bad move, right, But by blowing them up, you actually then get better loot. Yeah, then that'll stack a few blow up three different ones, And I've started doing that, so that's kind of awesome. It's kind of a neat little risk reward. Yeah, I guess. I've also lots of smart stuff. Yeah, I've I found people are a lot more willing to join my game on the higher difficulty, like I and the team of four almost immediately on that because you know, people want loot basically it's what they're doing. And then like it just like every I think all three classes have the dash, like the kind of the passives are all the same across the three classes. It's the active abilities the difference, like you've got you've got a grenade that you can like throw in and hit the button again the time to blow it up when you want. You've got this like extended dash move. They'll lets you move around really fast like the melee stuff too. It's hard enough on veteran that you really have to think about all your abilities and use them. Yeah, pretty quickly. Yeah, that's the thing. It's like, Yeah, there's a little stuff to manage. Yeah, between AMMO and it's really fast play paced. You run out of AMMO pretty quickly as well, so it's kind of you got to you have to think on your feet. It's engaging. Yeah, it's like I'm not I'm not mindlessly playing this like I would say, like a right, right, that's the thing. I felt like I was just kind of mindlessly blasting away. It gets changes. Yeah, so after that that first area, yeah, yeah, things get a little tougher. I don't even think I died like in that first first like a hub. Yeah. But then yeah, afterwards, I will say the last level is actually kind of a pain in the ass. Okay, it has a fail state and so it is like, yeah, it has a fail state, and and it's long, and parts of it were randomized in a way where like the first kind of confrontation that I got to, the first time I got there, it was a type of enemy that like we just kind of ran out of AMMO and no one could no one could hit it. At that point, It's like, okay, well, unless you've got a boomerang or something like that that that would be fast enough to hit it before it teleports away, you might just be kind of fucked. So we were kind of fucked, and we eventually just all died. And I's that I've been using a melee an awful lot, Yeah, because of the AMMO situation. Yeah, so kind of specking into that as well. That's yep, super helpful. It's it's a knee game. It's yeah, like I said, it's not you know, it's not gonna blow anybody's mind, and its people pretty I pretty well worn territory. But it's but it's executed. And I suspect that people who really like hell Divers probably won't get as much out of it because Hell Divers. Hell Divers is demanding in like a cooperative teamwork kind of way in a way that even this isn't totally uh. And and also that game is way about all about its friendly fire and all about being very hardcore, where this is not that. This is like a much friendlier game. So yeah, very true, Like you can blow up like, you know, barrels, vehicles. But also if you're you know, aiming, you'll see your line of sight, you'll see an actual like laser, and you can't shoot past your teammates, so you do have to possession yours. Yeah. Yeah. So when I asked Jeff, you know, after learning about this game, I'm like, so it's pretty fun. He's like, yes, it's pretty fun. I'm like, is it pretty fun throughout the entire game? And he said yes, and that was pretty much sold. So it was engaging enough for him to play through the entire thing. So I'll get my twenty bucks I think I already had. Yeah, I played with some friends and yeah, we had a great time. Yeah, there's a lot of stuff coming out right now. But I want to try to get back to this whenever I can. Do you guys want to talk about Dangerous Golf? Oh? Yeah, yeah, it's right. Did you guys actually get to play that? I played like just a smidge to the very end of that video and kind of play one hole, So it's I don't really have a good sense of because they had everything unlocked. I'm not really sure what I was supposed to be doing in that situation because I had like the pistol putt and all this other stuff. They'll unlock, you know, later on, so I'm not Yeah, I'm not clear on some of that stuff. Yeah, that's the that's the golf game from Three Fields Entertainment, which is started by some of the folks who started Criterions and the burnt Out team. Yes, and you see some of the Burnout font on the menu for Dangerous Ball, all right, and the UI has kind of a not trying to get away from old Burnout sort of look to it smash breakers, smash breakers like yeah, there's some wow, okay, like there is some crash mode stuff. So it's it's it's almost like a golf game where you are it's it's crash mode in a golf game. Okay, well not even really a golf I don't know. So yeah, sounds like clubs. You launch a golf ball and it's a physics game. You're spear okay, yeah, okay, that just happens to look like a golf ball. Yes, they did not render a single golf club, I asked them, And there are no golf clubs in the game anywhere. Yes, but you know there are holes. So you're eventually trying to get in the hole. Uh, but you're not on a green, right, No, you're you're in a You're in a dining room. Okay, you need to break all these champagne bottles and then get in the hole. You need to you know, or a bathroom in the same in the same move sometimes, so you have you have air control of the ball like you would in a crash mode. So there's sort of a slow motion after touch kicks. Yeah, some after touchgo around, fuck, sit up sort of stuff. But then also there's very much like okay, I'm gonna angle this, and you can shoot the ball off of the camera meaning your TV or off of walls and try to get it in the hole. That was the part where I'm not one hundred percent clear on because you know, the designer of the game was playing it, and he was hitting all these shots and I seriously like triple banks, like it's just like he just finding because he knows the level or how I was super generous. Ottowa seeing a ton of as about how the aim is working out, and so yeah, I thought it would like magnetize, you know, because he was hitting ridiculous shit, and then when Jeff tried it, yeah, he's completely missed it. So like, okay, there is some skill. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, I had a bad lie. Yeah, but yeah that seemed really really hard. Yeah, so it's uh, yeah, it seems like yeah, I don't know, it's weird. There's there's definitely something to it. Like I look and go like, ok, like the physical angle of it, of of like blowing all the ship up and you know, like you if you land the golf ball in a mop bucket, you then get to launch them bucket with your next shot. And so they've they've like filled it full of all these different little things that seem cool, but the actual like aiming of the golf ball and stuff like that was the part that I came away back going like I'm not one hundred percent clear on that aspect of it. Yeah, Like I really like the idea, and it is cool to just watch them like in this mansion room filled with vases and statues and stepped watching you know, hit a ball and this flaming golf ball just sucks up everything. Yeah. But the two things that I was concerned about were performance because we're playing on PS four, right, Yeah, and it really build and it was it was pretty framy. So I'm hoping that the PC version is is smooth. That seems like that'll be the way to play it. Yeah, you see, because it is such a physics if it's yeah, yeah, physics thing even and some of that stuff is really really impressive. Just think of the way that stuff breaks apart, like the initial Yeah, all those statues that are breaking in a realistic way. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, getting some of that stuff's cool. Yeah that sounds that sounds awesome. But yeah, the same same as you is like the controls, Like it's not like a three click golf game. It's not an analog Tiger Woods thing or anything like. It seemed to me like he was just hitting it. No, you press forward on the left stick, don't you. Yeah, and then it just it doesn't really matter how already pushed it just it just you're just like they're just lining up an angle. Yeah, because if basically because if you hit the pin, it's going to bounce off the flag and go in if you hit it in the air, you can actually win the balls in the air. You can make it drop so you can get over the hole and kind of bomb the hole that way. Yeah, you can't like hold our one or something, and that's when you have the slow motion like crash mode controls. Yeah, yeah, well that's I think maybe that's only when you have a crash Breaker active. Yeah. Anyway, Yeah, it's confused. It's it's mechanically dense and and some of that stuff wasn't necessarily clear right off the bat, but there's some neat stuff about it. So yeah, I don't know. I kind of want to see what the real progression looks like. Yeah, because they've got a hundred holes in that game. Jeez, it looked very much, you know, like crash Mode, where you've got a map. There were four locations, and within each location there are a bunch of little levels with three metals you can get, and so I think one of them is a bathroom. Yeah, there's a bathroom, bathroom or something like that. Yeah, the Australian gas station, Yeah, the bathrooms part of it. There's a mansion there is what I was thinking then the Vacy statue he plays is the place I'm thinking out of. I can't remember the other two anyway, that that videos on the site, you want to think we said mentioned the alley. Oh oh right, yeah, there we go. But the game itself sounds cool, but also it's like, hey, these are the makers of Burnout making a new game. Yeah, yeah, that is a story in itself, definitely, Uh, like any indication of where they're gonna go from here, Like, I think they've got a pretty clear indication of where they want to go. Okay, I think I think they've got some ideas. Yeah, some some genres they may be familiar with, may be good, they may be good at doing yeah after this, so yeah, we'll see all right. Yeah, it's it's I think that game is gonna end up out in June. They seem to think that that was kind of what they were shooting for right now. Yeah, that sounds fun. That sounds like big, dumb fun. Yeah, weird, weird that we came to this moment where all of a sudden, they're multiple like weird dumb golf game are weird fun like not very serious golf games between that and one hundred foot robot golf. Yeah, yeah, that'll be Those both look interesting, so yeah, we'll see. That's cool. You guys have anything else burning you want to air out before we uh move on to the news. Still kind of on the dark soul sing and did the same amount of bosses like I'm on Nameless King now I was fighting I guess the unknown boss but I had a circle back because I didn't want it to be a game for me. But uh yeah, I'm just picking up some items that I had missed. So lots of short term goals right now because I don't have a ton of time. Yeah that's been Have you been playing on PC week? Yeah? Has it been a nightmare of cheaters? Because that's that seems to me that those all the stories right now are about how stuff like that, that people are are cheating and invading people's games and hitting them in a way that's going to modify their save that get them saw So everything still stands from last week. I'm still unable to get oh right, and this is yeah, wait, just just from the menu, you cannot log in. You have to play logs in for a few seconds and then it kicks me back out to the main terrible. Maybe there's been a soft band no, because apparently there's a message that pops up when that happens, because yeah, because of people, you know, reporting this, they're like, oh, I got this message stating that I've been in a soft band caution or whatever. I don't get that, so I have no idea what's going. These games have been traditionally very rough around matchmaking and online staff, like like like Dartals two, Like anybody that had ever been vac band for any other game like apparently was just banned from the outset too. Yeah. I think the Ironet a lot of that stuff. Yeah, I don't know if that much later on updated, but that seems reasonable. I mean, okay, you cheated it some other games, so fuck you, you know, like I guess, like, well, but like when I was looking into it, like some some people had gotten vac band for using like Half Life right, like graphics mods that that injected into DLLs and stuff like that, Like it's it's come some weird fuzzy stuff. Yeah, most people that that got soft band that really haven't done. You just need to give from software your phone number and upgrade to prime matchmaking and everything will be fine, excellently. Yeah. But yeah, like I was talking to Patrick Kapic about this stuff some because he has been following the stuff closely. But like I think in two, if I understood directly in two, if somebody gifted you a hacked item, like they could give you a sword bazillion damage or whatever, and you like took it and used it like that would get you banned. But yeah, like you said, now they're finding ways to just like basically going into your world at all with their own hacks. Shit is enough to get you banned, And it's just it's crazy, yeah, that they haven't come up with a better solution there. Right, Well, I think maybe the phone number thing works. That's did you see that? That's what they're doing phone strike, So they've got when you launch cs go, now there is a button that says upgrade to prime and you hit it, and basically what they're doing is they are pulling your phone number from your Steam account. And as long as that phone number is, I guess it it probably has to be a mobile number, but I'm not sure it can't be a void number. Basically, like they're running some they're looking at it enough to know that it's not some fucking burner or they're making it a little bit harder. You have to go get a real burner. You have to verify, like respond to a text or something. You would have done that on your Steam yea, if the Steam, if you've already given a phone number to Steam for that stuff, you you probably already went through that process. So for me, it was just hitting a button and it looks at it and goes, yeah, you're cool, you're prime now, and right now, it doesn't do anything. But what they're saying is, hey, when enough people do this, we're going to prioritize them in matchmaking because we can ban them and then we know their phone number, so that'll be harder for them. You can only attach a phone number to one account, so if you have five fucking counterstrike accounts that you're smurfing with or whatever like you, you can't upgrade all of them to Prime unless you have five phone numbers. So it's an interesting approach to this stuff. Like, I don't it doesn't sound fool proof to me, But maybe they've thought about it more than they're letting on, or maybe if they've thought about it more, because they did say that like they wouldn't allow voice numbers which is obviously like a big first step because you can you can get a Google voice number in five minutes. They also, I don't know what brought all this on. They also just banned like the one of the most popular t F two aim bots that's been around forever. Yeah, like, I don't know why they're suddenly Yeah, I think it might be because they made it free, like it had been paid before. But yeah, I don't know people getting banned that that League of Legends streamer banned permanently for being a fucking dirt bag for a good long time. You would have thought they would have maybe caught onto that sooner. Yeah, but maybe that's maybe some of those things where they're establishing a precedent and they're like they want to make sure that they're legally covered before they make a move like that. But m yeah, I don't know. They should. They should ban everybody. Yes, nobody should ever go on the internet again. That's right, shut it down. It's the only way to save society. We will start mailing this podcast to even an envelope on a cassette tape. Let's put out a zine. You put it in and listen. Enter the offer cole shit ad models done. They call eight hundred and we'll give you a custom eight hundred number. Yes, we're gonna start putting this podcast in cracker jack boxes. Yeah, I beat a game this weekend, but there will be a review on the site, a high profile game. The review will go like all the stuff about like I was gonna hin it by saying it was a game where I jumped off stuff and it crumbled below me right as I jumped, and then people could figure it out. No, wow, never, No, it's uh yeah. There will be a review up and then I can talk extensively about it next week. At that time, maybe some of you guys have played it. Yeah, keeping on the site for that quick looks and all that stuff. I'm super curious about that game. I will tell you all about it. I've just been cruising on Hoplight, Dirt Rally and Twilight Struggle. Cool. I wanted to play Twilight Struggle until I found out it was only two players, and then I was like, well, it is one on one mano a mano Usa versus those communities, yes, East versus West, Yes, different powers that matter, Drew versus Austin. Oh jeez, we're trying to line up across coast aust See. I'm curious to see that. I've I've heard some things about that gain. All right, well, so move on to the news. Oh I've got some headlines here. Oh that's just in preparing. It's so weird, it's so great. It gets you in the news movie the news, we talk some dirt. We should redo all the section music, I think so. Yeah, they've been around for Does that always happen yes, yeah, yeah, totally, Yeah, that's been happening for years. Yeah, every every week I have to hunt down the point in the podcast where we started talking about various things insert that music. When I was editing the podcast, I never had any of that music. Yeah, you didn't do it, So I never put it in. Okay, and zero people complain. Yeah once in a while for various reasons, I wouldn't do it here and there, and nobody ever said a word, so I probably could have. It's nice to have this, this little break that sounds like nightly news and world report. Yeah, that's some good news news music. I would just want like some reggae edits of all of the section music. More steel drums, yeah, actual yelling for the news. Yes, I was talking. I've been talking to fill our house composer recently. He's got some he's got some interesting ideas about about directions to take podcast music. Definitely, we'll have more on that in the near future, but for now, let's dive into these headlines. Uh, there's a gang of news out of Nintendo since last week, right, Yes, which happened in like a very Unintendo like fashion in that it came out at like three well, yeah, came out of a midnight here and earnings called earnings investor situation that they had over there, which they had some other NX stuff or the first Meetomo mobile stuff came out in the exact same way. Sure, but it was I think it was it was hard for a lot of people not to look at this as like, well, the Wada passed on and now they're getting super business like and they're not keeping it as lighthearted and direct to you as they used to. I mean, like that's Austin definitely touched on that, and I guess if he wrote I guess it was just it was a very dour, business like way to communicate some very big information, but it ended up being less big. I think like, because it ended up being information about the information is not as coming as soon as you think, well yes, like that was the bulk of the information that they were informing us. That there is no new information yea yet All right, let me let me run this down. The big thing out of this is that the NX was coming out next March. No, the big thing out of this is animal crossing for phones. What fire Emblement animal crossing will be their mobal apps? Hang on, perhaps you didn't hear me. There's like a real full animal crossing for phones. Well they have not said the nature of it, okay, and could just be me tomock bells, Yeah, all it could be. You could be a banking app where tom Nook fucking just takes a percentage of your fucking funds. Yeah. But the way the way they framed it was like, here are the next two apps to follow me tomo and and they are they are animal crossing and fire embland themes. So who knows what those will be? I guess that's one one ray of sunshine. They didn't say titles in the Animal Crossing or A five series. They definitely did. They said they did not say this is the next animal Crossing game, like, yeah, okay, well I'm interested regardless. Yeah, well yeah, you know, we'll always keep an eye on that stuff. But I don't know, I'm not I'm not getting after me, Tomo, I'm not getting my hopes up. I kind of stopped playing me. You don't play plays you one data point at a fucking time, getting played son. But yeah, Like the biggest thing out of this was they said, hey, you know, next March is the ship for the NX worldwide. Yeah. Yeah, So that kind of dashed a lot of the expectations that it would come out this year, which didn't. I mean, we're never setting Stone, Yeah, I was never. I don't think we were super sold on that year. But a lot of people seemed and like a lot of analysts, like people in the supply chain and stuff had been coming out saying like, well, like, it looks like they're shipping on holiday, so that's not happening. Was that spell for E three? That's the other that's the other crazy Like that might be the craziest thing about this to me is that they also came because they've been saying for the last like a year that this E three would be basically thought they said that you will hear about it this year. It was never specifically at E three. It was like, we're not going to talk about the NX until I'd have to go back and look. But I'd swear they said that E three this year is when they would start really talking about the NX. Maybe you're right. I don't know for sure, but could I could be wrong. I'm sure because where else you're gonna talk about that are working on right, and scripes are going to show their stuff exactly now, They're totally not Wow. Also, all zero third parties that we're making NX games, well so, so no NX at E three at all this year. Zelda will be there because it's coming out on the NX as well as WEIU it's shipping simultaneous come both as everyone in the world expected by now. Also, Zelda is the if I read this correctly and the sounds insane, Zelda is the only game they are bringing to E three. Well, if you think about, if you think about, we're only playable game on the show, let me find I could find the ex Zach's statement. But they will have other announcements and things, I think, but the only thing you can play is Zelda. I would be very surprised if any of those announcements were games for the three DS or we U there were there were not we There were not games that were already out in another territory that they were bringing over, or things that were already on the slate somewhere else some of the region. I could see three DS games being announced. Well, I'm less an x is supposed to be this. What do you think about? Then? What happens the Legend of Zelda? Here? I'll let me read this line from their statement this June Nintendo we'll focus its attention on the upcoming game in the Legend of Zelda series. The WU version of the game will be playable for the first time on the E three show floor, and it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show in order to provide attendees a complete immersion. Okay, so so yeah it does. It does say the only playable game. Yeah, well, think about think about it this way. If you're taking if you're gonna take all of your teams and shift them over to the nx UH and start developing games there, then none of them are working on new three d O, sure, you're you're totally like, you're totally right. They probably don't have much else to show. They're not talking about the NX, then the things that those teams are making are also not being talked about. You're right, But in the context of like what the hell is E three becoming? Well, yes, I think about the size, think about the size and complexity of the Nintano booth every year, and now think about that boosts having one game. Yeah, is there anything ruling out the possibility that they will reveal games for the NX, like they will show a video of a new Mario kind and right, But even even if that's the case, like that booth is what the booth will be? Five hundred Zelda kiosks and like a monitor showing trailers Like that's kind of like, I mean, maybe it won't be as what trailers Zelda trailers, you know, right, I mean it could be in new X games. I mean, there's nothing that's that's they will they will not. That is the type ship they flat out said, yeah, Like there's no way that they're going to show an NX games for a system they haven't named. Don't think that they can show NX games before they have made the pitch about what the NX is. Yeah, okay, and they have straight upset that they will not give that pitch at E three, Like we're not going to get the name, We're not going to get the basic geck of it. They're they're not talking about an I want me to hunt down that line. Yeah, I didn't know they had ruled out just information in general. I knew they had ruled out like playable. Oh yeah, you know, that's fine. But yeah, the impression they're giving is that, yes, it's come see the week version of the Legend of Zelda. I'll just read this, and then this comes right after that bit about Zelda. In case you're wondering, Yes, this means that the n X will not be at E three in any capacity. Oh okay, there you go. Nintendo states that it will not make an appearance at the upcoming E three Video Game trade show in Los Angeles in June, and will be unveiled later this year. What if it's a swerve? Yeah, what if they're known for that? Yeah, that would be what I direct this fall probably, yeah, big, Like, hey, this is the NX director that's available. Naw base world. That line was from Awesome story by the way, yes, spaced, Yeah, back in action, that would be cool. Yeah, I don't know, it's yeah, what's that Pokemon iOS game coming out? That's uh? Is it iOS? I thought it was the thing that ties into the like weird risk that's Pokemon Go, right, I guess something. I have the live action trailer. Yeah, okay, I think that's what that was. Yeah, that's not out quite yet. That's from that's from the Ingress people. They're working on that. What they're Niantic is part of that. I think the world got really weird. Yeah, it did weird. It really really did animal life, but that's not necessarily even a Nintendo announcement. That's the Pokemon company for its own separate thing. Did you gotta see the Orlando Bloom wore a Tomagochi to the That Met That Met Galla fashion show on the on the red carpet there are photos of Orlando Bloom and like a nice purple suit. How is this with a tomagochi hanging? Like people zoomed in and determined that it was pooping at the time. That photos good, It's amazing. Yeah, it was the first thing I've seen on the internet in a while. That made me feel better about the world. Yeah, yeah, this is surprising, Yeah, totally. But at the same time, is it the E three stuff is surprising in a way. I think, you know, them not making it out this year makes sense. Uh, that's not that's not too much much of a shock. Although March is a weird time to launch console. I mean it's the end of their fiscal or whatever put out a console that early in the year though, I mean we came out or whatever. It's always yeah, yes, was a weird like April or something. Yeah, so it was like Saturday putting that out there. I think they'll have a run up to the release of their platform. That is better than what I put together for a Saturday. Yeah. That that five minutes it's out, that five minute plan. How fucking amazing would that be? Though? And it's available now, either a game or a console. I've been you know, like val like, fuck you apply three download now that I want the dream. That's the That's the only way you could do fall Out three or five three at this point is to say it's available now. Like you don't. You don't pre announce that, you don't say anything about that game, you just put it up, it'd be so cool, uh for anything. Fallout Shelter was that yeah available now. Yeah, but that's like, you know, a dinky little iOS game. There's not a whole lot riding on the success of that the way there is with like a console or a massive thing. Yes, but but that Valve is like the only company that could get away with, right, with a game of that size and that sort of stuff of like, hey, it's on sale now, then you know, like what are you trying to hold back? Like, you know, retailers, that stuff leaks, there's no way to keep that tight. Yeah, it doesn't work anymore. That stuff just gets out. So it's yeah, I don't know. I think it says a lot about uh, it says a few things about Nintendo, but it also says something about the nature of E three and and maybe how that's starting to change. You see the you know, companies like EA pulling out of the show, and you see Nintendo now just kind of barely having anything for the show. But I think that's probably more of a circumstantial thing of like that's all they have, yeah, because if they've because if they've got the bulk of their company working on an X software and getting this hardware done. Then yeah, if if, if they make the decision to hold off on that announcement, then suddenly they have nothing to show except for the last game they have announced, right, I mean, and they've been scaling back for years. I mean they used to do the big E three Kodak theater thing every Now we're just going to do the thing for the press, you know, at our little booth here, and then it's just like we'll do it direct and yeah, come play a game. But if at least it always felt like they had a healthy lineup, yeah, yeah, and then people, you know, you saw some people that are like, I can't believe they're pulling out E three is like, how will they reach people? It's like E three doesn't I mean E three reaches a lot of people. But it's people that will get that Nintendo news no matter how it comes out, like that news will filter to them eventually if they want a pre order in NX, and if the and when the NX does get announced, if you think about how that news actually got out to the mainstream, it was they did to deal with USA Today. The USA Today got the exclusive on the hardware for it was a GameCube. I think it was a few, It was a few, yeah, And so they could just like talk to a mainstream outlet like that and get the story out that way, and that's how they reach the masses. You know, people are like, okay, Like people are putting way too much importance on E three as like some big mainstream thing, and it's just not that anymore because who the fuck watches the Like who watched the local news in LA. Yeah, Like even the people in LA probably don't watch that much anymore. And that's all you got. It was just like, oh, the people are like, oh, look at this mainstream exposure we got, Like no, it's like the fucking dumb fuck six o'clock LA News Network News is down here shooting something. They go. Video games. They're a big business here in Los Angeles. Here in the convention center. We talked to this person who was dressed up like Lara Croft. Thousands of gamers left their basements for the first time this year. Like it's like like totally failing to recognize that it's a fucking business trade show. What you look at those graphics, it's video game heaven here for these fans. What are you doing? I'm an analyst, Leave me alone. Okay, great. I think most mainstream people don't even like, like they haven't heard of E three. Yeah, And when I when I have to explain to people in my family or whatever, it's like, oh, I mean my mom and dad. No, But like I'm talking to an ant's like, oh, E three, what's that? It's like, Oh, it's like the big It's like, oh, it's like the oscars of the gaming industry when the whole industry comes to one three. Every time I do, I do the thing for CBS Radio that gets syndicated out and like it's like eleven million people can hear it every week on various radio stations throughout those CBS Radio network. And every time I'm like doing a news thing that revolves or like that mentions E three, I kind of have to go, like which is an annual trade show devoted to the video game industry? Because who the fuck knows what E three is? Like, that's the people living in a bubble if they think that E three matters outside of like the you know, and it is millions. It's a big number that tune into some form of E three coverage every year, but it's still not the masses the way that video games are. I mean, even among people that casually play video games, a lot of them probably don't even know where care what it is. Yeah, yeah, I mean it's a been. The big outlets will look at E three, like you know, the New York Times will look at E three, but like any big news, the New York Times would look at that. Okay, the stories about the news, they're gonna what are they going to report? You know, they're gonna report on a noon insid no console, wherever that news comes from. Yeah, you don't think that they'll report that. Well, people are pulling out of this trade show. I don't think they care. They don't they don't care enough to to Okay, establish that context. I'm gonna blame you, but yeah, I don't know. It's E three is a weird thing, and you know, just like having a video game holiday. Yeah, and then I get that, like there's a lot of people that like place a lot of value in like, oh man, I'm gonna take the week off work and there's gonna be all this news and all the stuff. Like like I totally I totally get that yeah, like I I love going to E three. Uh, but in terms of it being like this end all be all when it comes to messaging your announcements to people, like, it's totally not it's not necessary. Putting a call of duty trailer on like an NBA Finals game will reach way more people on the right, especially the people they need to reach, like the people that you know, whether you put that trailer out at E three or not, the people that know about E three will absorb that information in some way, shape or form. Yeah, speaking of call of duty before we move on to that, one more little snippet of Nintendo news. This came out the same day as this other stuff. I don't know if it was part of the same investor call or not, but they are divesting themselves of the Seattle Mariners. Oh right, which is like at the time, I feel like everybody likes saw this kind of there's like a one two punch of like, well, they're they're doomed. They're pushing the NX stuff back, and then they're also getting out of baseball, like what the hell the hell is going on? And Nintendo but still order a hot dog with your DS after this sale? Who knows, Yeah, but it sounds like kind of business as usual, like the shares are moving to one of the minority owners of other existing owners are just buying up into those shares and they're trying to frame it and who knows if this is actually the reality of it, but they're at least trying to frame it as this was always the plan. We wanted to buy the team to keep it in Seattle because it was threatening to move. Yeah, that was the statement they put out. They just said that straight up. The Yamauchi was it in. It was nineteen ninety two that he fronted his own money to buy it because the team was going to move out of Seattle, right apparently. Uh, And they say it was his way of kind of giving back to the country and in the local area for letting them do business there. Yeah. Yeah, and Ntrio is on there. Do they have any do they still have any Japanese players? I don't know, sure, I don't know, but they you know, they mentioned with between Wata passing away and Howard Lincoln was involved with the Maritor and he was he's retiring, so it sounds like it was just the time for them to get out of that yeah, or maybe it's LinkedIn you know there there. You could probably look at all this and go like, there maybe a financial reason why they would be doing this. Maybe, you know, maybe there maybe things are a little rough in spots. But I you can't look at this and go like they're done. They're all man, they're on the ropes again. It doesn't it seem like it's that bad. I don't think it's. Yeah, this guy's not quite falling yet on that. But yeah. At the same time, it's it's frustrating because I think that just this NX stuff just has to get out there so we can move past the what is the NX conversation and move onto the how will the NX? Yeah do Yes, I'm kind of tired of speculating about what the thing is. It's like driving me nuts at this point. I just want to know. Uh yeah, all right. So, since this time last week, the existence and the name of the New Call of Duty has leaked like eight different ways. Ghosts too, yeah, uh leaked out of God, well, it's different, it's all order materials got out. It got It was so leaky that their official Twitter account was even basically leaning into it, and like all but confirming the stuff that was getting out. So anyway, they I don't know if this accelerated their announcement plans or not, but they went ahead and posted the trailer for Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. Yeah, which it's infinity ward, so it makes sense anything about that. Yeah, but dude, but also, yeah, dude, what a who thought that name was a good idea sledge hammer warfare next? I was hoping that this would turn into some kind of Quake three situation where they're pulling people out of all arrows of combat, all eras Fall of Duty infinite warfare on a etherial plane. But because because that's at least like an enticing fantasy realm as opposed to just like, by the way, humanity never stops fighting infinite warfare, we will always be at war. Like it's just this really depressing, fucking downtrodden name. And then it's in space. Yeah, I guess it is, like half that trailer is in space. You're right, Yeah, the interesting half of that trailer is in space. Yeah. The Bowie cover not a Bowie cover, is going on not a great Yeah, I don't know, Okay, I don't know, poor very poorly timed like that trailer, Like there are things about the trailer I look at and go like, yeah, man, all right, I'm I'm I want to see what this fucking thing ends up being. For sure, it looks nice. And then the lyrics kick in and you're like, man, I'm so fucking bummed out right now. Yeah, this is such a fucking shit cover this great song, and oh man, David Bowie passed away. This is fucked up. Fuck this and you're already bummed out about like the tone of the name and everything. It's just like it was. It was this thing after another. It's just like this, you know, and and and maybe they you know, who knows how long they've been sitting on that cover and like, well, this is gonna be our key song for the trailer. It could have been months and months ago, because we're a Prince song, right, Yeah. It's so maybe they were locked in in a way they couldn't get away from or something, or maybe they thought it was a tribute, like you know that super Bowl commercial had that. If they thought it was a tribute, then man, that's really fucked up. Then they missed the mark on that one by a pretty wide March i'd say, uh, because that's it's yeah, that's that's just depressing. I don't even think it looks that good. I mean, it looks like it's going to play fine. It's a call of the game. It'll be fun. I couldn't tell from the trailer if the scenes of you in the cockpit are just cut scenes or if you're actually gonna be able to trying to insinuate that they like a space fighter like Black Ops two had, like you can know you're piloting this plane or this helicopter. It's practically it's a combat, you know. It's yeah, yeah, I don't like this gradual shift that Call of Duty has been going with where that that was the real war series that I liked, whether it's World War two or real modern war stuff. Say it you are you with me? Oh yeah, okay yeah those first one, two, and four. Yeah, And like when they started doing future stuff, it was still kind of ground It's like, oh, here's la, but a bomb went off and now you got I really liked Black Ops like in terms of what it was trying to be like that. That is some of my favorite real world fucking ship is that kind of Cold War because Call of Duty has always been at its best when it's capturing like a looking feel of a time, of a period of history. You know, it's whether whether it's World War Two or the Cold War or like modern day or whatever it felt. But think about like what they've done, like in its like those few years there from like four to Black Ops all other stuff. They fucking killed protagonists, they sit off fucking nukes, they had your modown civilians like that. There used to be some fucking real edge on that thing that eventually it just got to the point where the game loads up and it's like there may be graphicals graphic scenes of violence and here do you want them? Yes or no? Then hit yes, And nothing that happens over the course of the campaign seems to merit that or like what was the one in three like the little girl got blown up by an ice cream truck or something? Right, yeah, yeah, I'm like, oh no, no, that was the big thing in this game. You know. It's not like I even need like an escalation of shocking violence over year totally, but at a certain point, like think about how many of those things they've put out in a short period of time, Like where else do they go, but like crazy crazy future ye sci fi, but that direction you know, for for the past few games now, and this is them just firmly just going like all right here it is yeah, Settlement Defense Force or whatever. We're gonna fight. We're gonna fight some frontiersman. At some point, that robot is like literally pulling your protagon us into a space ship, and it's like, this doesn't call a duty anymore. I bet it totally will be. I mean yeah, I mean, like what you're saying is what people said about you know, Black Ops. But that was still like there was cool stuff in Black Ops where it's like, oh, here's some ship with castro and stuff, like you know, real right stuff and like the number stations and yeah, like people said that about Advanced Warfare. People just said about Black Ops three that like, you know, I mean this, I wouldn't make a Black Ops three. One of the Black Ops three characters is literally a fucking robot. Yeah, and I don't multiplayers. Yeah, I got got more excited by at the end of the trailer that did the like hey here's Modern Warfare remasters. Yeah that I'll play that fucking a yes. Uh And so yeah, I was damn it stole my segue. I was I was gonna say, yeah, like you want you want to know what looks good, here's your segue, Modern Warfare Remaster, just segue right here. Yeah, fucking a. There's price with a cigar and there's a boat. So that stuff had been rumored too, like their their Twitter account had even they'd run surveys and yeah, you know it sound like would you be interested in the official name of it? The official name of it is just Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remaster. Yeah cool. They dropped the four and so far it's only a bonus in certain packages of Infinite Warfare, right or something. Yeah, I've got the prices and names in front of me if you care. But down look like there's not physical I believe that's the case. I'm trying to figure out what's the cheapest. It ends up being twenty bucks on top of the sixty. Yeah, getand looks it looks like, yeah, it looks like the seventy nine. Yeah, it looks like the seventy nine ninety nine package is the cheapest one you can. I mean, I'll say that six months, yeah, exactly, give them six months. Yeah, And I'm gonna want to play that when it comes out. It looks good from that trailer. It was like it took me a second to realize I was looking at called Duty four. I did have a moment of just like, oh, are they putting prices in space? What are they doing? It segues to that footage with like price in the helicopter from the beginning of that game, and I was like, wait, why why is price in this game? Oh? Called Duty four? Actually just still it's just fine. Uh they're doing uh what is ten ten multiplayer maps be in that? Thennounced three of them crash and the full campaign. Yeah, like that is kind of a big deal. Sounds like Raven is doing that. Yeah, I think so. I think that'll be weird to see how that all works, because you know, if it's a separate game with separate multiplayer, then are people going to play that instead of Infinite Warfare vice versa? Like you know, like what does it mean for player matching when they're launching too big, too big to two multiplayer games at the same time. Uh So I was worried for a bit, Like before the announcement hit it like people were like, oh, you know, that's gonna be campaign only. There's no way that the multiplayers like. Okay, well then who cares as much as that campaign was? Neat, that's not that's not why I want to s Yeah, yeah, I would be happy to play it again, but like I want to play the maps of Call of Duty four? What is it all all gillied up? Yeah? I would play that mission again for sure, but also, hey, it worked for al master Chief collection boy howdy? Yeah so I then then when the other leaked thing said campaign plus ten multiplayer maps, I was like, wait a minute, if they're calling out the number of maps, do that mean these maps will just integrate into the Infinite Warfare multiplayer or will it be a separate Yeah? So I don't know. That would be weird If it just integrates, then, like, wouldn't they be bringing the abilities or whatever you think you have powers? Could I think you have to be able to just go play Call of Duty four you feel like it. I would hope that would be I wouldn't take that from my main menu on my console and just play that and not do any infinitely stuff. I wonder if it's a separate game, does says part of the blank boiler plate kind of like fine printed says, this is a full game download. It would be smarter than to make it separate just in case they do want to yeah, sell it later or something. Yeah, yeah, that's out. Umber. Fourth, I feel like you still have to talk about a new Call of Duty. I would I now by them fully committing to fuck it space U I they have at least I would. I would like to see more of what they're doing and really committing to the space part of it, because like when Advanced Warfare was right, we were like, oh, it's the future, but kind of kind of like planets with rings around them, and I kind of liked them. I Also what I liked about Advanced Warfare was that it wasn't too over the top, Like those exoskeletons that they gave you looked like something that would actually be ars. Some of the stuff about Black Ops uh too, was there kind of near future stuff like And at the time when they were started first talking about that game, they were very much talking about like, well, we've talked to these people who are have written all these books about the future of war. We got David Singer and here whoever is and you know, we're looking into what all this stuff will be in five years and trying to base it off of that, like they were still grounding it in something. Yeah, it's like this prototype is in the military right now, it might be active in twenty years, right, Yeah, so I thought that. I think that's a cool thing. Like future military tech is always really interesting to me, up to a point. If you go too far. When you're just like, here's how the fights will happen in space, it's like, oh, I don't know, I thought we didn't. We didn't we decide space was going to be for peace. I mean, we all know eventually someday we get dragged into some kind of space war, right, it has to happen. They should have price just be a robot with a mustache, Yes, that would be That would be fucking awesome. Yes, if it's like like a robot robot mustache or like like metal human hair on a robot an he's smoking a cigar, not a not a mustache piece. No, no, no, it's actual hair, not like those robots from the Transformers movie with the ride and the metal mustaches and his AI has been implanted like metal ear stuff. Okay, all right, all right, yeah, just go all the way with the living mustache over metal skeleton. Uh maybe you guys will be changing your tune after this Friday when the next Battlefield is also revealed. Oh maybe, I don't know. The emails we got about the their trailer, their their live stream or whatever they're planning. Suspicious Welton Maybe not suspiciously, but used the term the future of Battlefield, which in a way makes me wonder where they're going. Yeah, sure, yeah I would. I would not be shocked. That was the game that there was some talk about, like which some that some people fell into that trap with Call of Duty where there was people were like, oh, next Battlefield's totally World War One. Oh yeah, yeah, that was the talk like some months ago or something. I think some retail site had some text posted or something. Really that seems too crazy to be real. Uh yeah, yeah, I don't know. Whatever whatever, its end up being such a big part of the battlefield experience. The posts don't know that you could that's that's for sure. Part of it. Talking about horses, Yeah, all right, tanks to go half a mile an hour, horses with helicopter. I want to crash a horse helicopter into this control point. Can't wait to see a horse run by with like three extra guys like standing and crossing on the back of it, yeah, and sliding off. It'll just look like this Japan World Cup horse passing DVDs whatever it is. Like, it can't just be another modern military game, right, like they made I was gonna say they made two of those in a row, but like technically, I mean that's basically what two was. Yeah, and then three and four like from a a obviously, you know, people who are deep into it'll get angry when they hear this, but like from a distance, don't do that. Sorry, don't touch loose cables in here. Pretend it's a down power line. Like from a distance, those games look very similar, you know. Yeah, like five minutes in the future, there were there were some some very real changes they made to Yeah, class obviously the classes were built and stuff like that. But yes, but like like setting and tone and like a look and everything like same exactly did not change. Yes, yes, so like they have to do something new with five. Somebody has to hold the torch for the modern military, the real modern military shops. But if it's just hard line too, that's just really lean into the idea. Yeah, Battlefield Korea still growing those beards out. They're like down the right floor now Tier one nine foot beers, but just hiding in the beard. Yeah, don't need a guilli all Bearded up is the name of the level. It's but we're pretty excited about it. Uh uh Yeah. I don't know. I suspect that they are doing future. That's that's my That is what my gut tells me. I don't think. I don't know anything about what that game actually is. In fact, to the you know, the loose talks some months ago was that World War One ship. So if anything, there's been reason to believe the opposite is true. But I don't know. That'd be real tough. That's a tough Yeah, that's tough. That's a tough war. Yeah. Yeah, like you've seen, Like I forget which game it was you played on up one style. I think that probably does the best of well, any game that dedicates itself to being World War One. I like that level in the Darkness, Yeah, that sort of hell version of World War One. Yeah, I just I just think it would be really hard to adapt the actual combat and tactics of World War One too, Like a mainstream popular video, right, like Ever Done is probably the right level of game, Yeah, for the level of player that would be likely to get into that sort of thing, and uses the sort of themes of that conflict right to a game in a game play direction. Yeah, just maybe a little weird, but yeah, yeah it was Valiant Hearts World War One. Oh yeah, that's right, that was cool. I mean that's obviously it's such a different game, but I like that a lot. Yeah, a couple more stories, nothing earth shattering, but uh, he'd talk on Miyazaki from from Software gave this article I'm looking at it calls him he DECKI and know it's like throw me for Loopo's like, wait, did I forget that guy's name? But he gave an interview to a site called g n end Gamer, which is actually Taiwan Ease. Okay, so there are like Google translates translations of this interview floating around which are like totally legible. You can pretty much get the information from him, like the Maiden stuff is that, like they are hassling him about the stuff that he had said about Dark Souls being over, and he firmly reiterates, like basically says Uh, to me, Dark Tools is over. I'm not you know. He basically says, like, if in five years somebody else with the company comes to me with a really good idea for new Dark Souls game, I'm not gonna say no, but like, yeah, we're not going to launch into another one. But but the big revelation out of this to me is that he says flat out like our big focus next is a new ip. Yeah, like I fully assumed that, like a blood blood to the next thing come out of them. Yeah. Yeah, they ask him about no, no, no, I'm not Chromehounds. I'm sorry, Armored Core is what he gets asked about it. I want to say, yeah, it doesn't Sega own the Chromehounds name. Probably I think, Man, that last Armored Core game not so good? Not good? Yeah I didn't. Yeah, they ad weird departure with that. I've been unable to like that. The joy of a lot of the Armored Core games. I have a fondness for some of the earlier ones and four Uh what go ahead, yeah, go ahead. So yeah, yeah I enjoyed those games. Actually yeah, I know, well, I know they've definitely got their devoted fans. Dega owns the Chromehounds IP and he's making a new IP, Bloodhounds Done. All right, Okay, Okay, the thing is weird. The thing that I hoped they would make next in that style is apparently exactly what Neo is, which is, like I thought, I thought a Soul's a game set in like a mythical Japan, like like an ancient Japan, would be really cool. And it's not to say that, you know, this won't be a Souls like yeah, kind of like blood Born. We don't know for sure, yeah, but yeah, like I i'd like, you know, blood Borne didn't sell ten bazillion copies, but I looked it up and Sony was out there saying, like, beat our expectations, like it did well, So I assumed another blood Borne would be like soon forthcoming. You know, it's probably wise of them to kind of move on and try to crack another yeah nut with it, you know, I try to do it all over again with someone else, as opposed to riding dark Souls into the ground and then suddenly having nothing and be like, well now we have to fucking copout something. It has to hit because uh, you know, if they if they they can do I p and it ends up tanking, and then they still could feel like, hey, we had a good idea for a dark whole sequel. Yeah. So so the other half of this is that after he gave this interview, a video has surfaced. I I found the story on Game Informer, but it was reported all over the place, like I don't know if it's a recruiting video or what it is, but there's a like a it seemed like a like a recruiting video or something of that effect, like a reel of their stuff where they refer to I believe they refer to it as next project. And in addition to PS four, Xbox One, and Steam, they list PlayStation VR support yeah on it. So obviously it's not gonna be a PSVR exclusive. But yeah, whatever it is they're working on sounds like it may have some VR interesting compelling to it. Yeah, cookies and cream and yeah, yes you need two sets though, sure, yeah of course you can. Two people could share. Yeah, I don't know, left eyes cookie okay, okay, yeah, yeah, all right? Yet ye go back and forth. Yeah, I'm I'm always super interested to know what those guys are working on us another King's field. Yeah, there's a footage of somebody mocked up of like a PlayStation one era Dark Souls going around recently, and like sure, it's kind of like, yeah, we should check out Kingsfield. Sometimes No we shouldn't, but maybe we should. But the thing that people like to kind of forget is that a lot of froms games are not great. I think, like the kindest thing I've seen said about Kingsfield is that like you could see where they were going with those games. Yeah, like you could see how that would eventually lead to Dark Souls, But that doesn't mean it's worth going back of some rough combat. Yeah, I've never seen those games. It's not good in like a really short sense, like I don't know, we would have to play it for I am not saying don't even I don't even say it out loud. Last story, remember that crazy uh Neo Geo game prototype surface. Yeah, the creation of that game has stepped forward and talked about what it was. His name is kno asi Uh. He talked to a Japanese site called it Media uh and apparently it was code names. Well it was Dark Sea King and then they couldn't get the ny started out and get that name. That's right, it started out as Dark Seed that wasn't gonna work out, so then it changed to Dragon's Heaven. All right, sure, so not it was like, what were you talking about last time? There was potentially we thought it was like maybe some kind of D and D. I don't know common elements and common elements, but I don't think anyone was seriously looking at it is like this is definitely a D and D fighting game. Yeah, that's no. But he does say flat out like you could pick lawful, neutral or chaotic. Yeah. The character align change depending on like the time of day. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it seemed like that some ideas about where the things should go. Uh, but yeah, I don't know if that's out there and playable by other people yet. Oh. That the eventual plan was for those ROMs to get out there and then MAME would support it. Mame always releases, uh, their official builds, like near the end of every month. So they just had one drop recently. Yeah, but I don't know. I don't know if it's in that one or not. Did he mention anything about why I got dropped or I wouldn't say it was just a timing thing. Yeah, it was ninety five or something, so kind of there's a lot coming out though. Yeah, yeah, it's you should look at look this interview up. It's like he said at one point, he says, like personally, it wasn't all fond memories, like referring to that period of time. Uh So that's got to be crazy for him though. Yeah, to have this like in a completely like scrapped project that never saw the light of day, all of a sudden surface kind of. But he also he also says development PCBs aren't really supposed to leak out, So there's a part of me that's a bit distraught. Yeah, but he also he also like salutes the guy who found it. Yeah, and like I like you said, they filled in like the missing fonts and stuff, right, Yeah, I think that they were kind of yeah, because some of that stuff got lost that they had kind of filled it in with generic stuffy. Hopefully that we'll be out for perusal at some point. Yeah. All right, let's it for the news. Dann As are bladder. I mean you could probably guess should we take a break, I mean we can test it if you want to keep moving. All right, let's go. There's a nice new table here. There's not a ton of Oh boy, carpet is totally clean. Right, let's just it's just for now, all right. I can step out if I need to. Let's just go go on, all right, there's not a there's not a ton of emails this week, but I forgot some emails here bomb cast at bomb dot com. Yeah eight, okay, Yeah, it's been a while. Yeah, forgotten Brad. Here's a different week. Yes, yeah, I'm well acquainted. I've ever heard that. Have you listened it? Don't listen to podcast? That one's pleasant? I like that one. Uh yeah, we got we got a handful of emails that came into the address this week. The first one is from Mike in Farmington Hills, Michigan. It looks like, okay, I mean, what else are you gonna do with them? I guess so, Yeah, this is kind of a can of worms. I'm afraid to read this, but here we go. Yeahs have touched on the Game of the Generation award on the bomb Cast before, but I'm curious what would make the cut for other Game of the Generation categories. I don't think we'd ever even like talked about the idea of having multiple categories on the Game of the year thing, I'll take these one at the time. What would the please stop be of last generation? Oh? I mean I guess at a certain point you could just go back to our Game of the Year awards first, yeah, for all of those years and taking the winners and like figure it out from there. Yeah, yeah, I know, we we had never really kind of thought about it as as a full presentation. Yeah, he just yeah, he basically says, like, you know, what would be the most disappointing, what would have the best style? What other categories would kill her seven? In a blown out Game of the Generation showdown? But yeah, I think we had always thought of that more as just like let's let's make a ranking, yeah, ranking of games. Yes, not so much a full on game of the year, like lavish production with a bunch of categories and stuff. It's kind of tough to go back and think, you know, right, like what are the best graphics of that entire generation? You know, like I mean you could probably say last generation uncharted three, wouldn't you think I'd have to go back and look, I don't know nothing about it. Very good. The weird out of me now, The weird thing about like ranking old games or coming up with awards for old games is like the big question as always, do you go with what holds up the best now or do you go with what I made the biggest impact then? Right, because those are those are often not the same thing, and that's really hard when you get into like you know, there's a bunch of sequels and all the other stuff. So it's like we would, yeah, pursue it to some of this stuff we talked about, like rock band, Like which rock band would you include in this? You wouldn't include all of them because that would be a waste of space. Right, But then you go like, okay, well it's probably three because three was the most fully featured, but then two was where it kind of created maybe like peaked in terms it's impact. Uh yeah, So you go down those rabbit holes over and over again with every single one of these category arguments. Yeah. I remember right when I started the GI they were it was the two hundred issue and they were doing the best two hundred games of all time, and God, just the length of those meetings, just all day trying to figure out like we kind of every Mario game, right, I was gonna say, like how about how much of it was bogged down, and just like those types of that, like semantic or or those types of arguments as opposed to just like is this game better than this game? Yes or no? It's mostly the former. Yeah, it's mostly like how many fucking Mario games do we put on? Right? You know? And especially when you get down to like the top ten, and it's not just games, it's like you see like best hundred albums of all time or like yeah, like you know, like when Prince passed, a lot of the stuff came up about like the who was it that did the best? Like I think it's Rolling Stones Top one hundred guitarists? Oh right, Like that shit is so subjective. Yeah, it's like fucking who cares? Right, That's like do you put Tetris or do you put Super Mario Brothers? Like, fuck off, you probably put Tetris. Probably you put Super Mario Brothers, you know, like or like whatever, or like Linked to the Past is a better game than the first Elda, But the first one was so revolutionary and everything. Which one do you put first? It really highlights how dumb lists. Yeah, totally. It's it's you know, like I think you just have to like come up with a set of arguments that fit the conversation you're about to have. They're fun to put together, but like a set of rules and regulations and then just go from there. Yeah, just you can't. You can't take it too seriously fighting game science exactly, you apply a science. Yeah, don't make fun of our our methods. We have actual there's a blackboards and the formula real science. Yeah, they're they're published there. These are ye credit peer reviewed, the two of us. Yeah, in perical observation taking place. But yeah, I think if we were to do something like that, Like I think like an all time ranking would be fun too. Yeah, it's totally fun. Like you just you know, you can't. Yeah, Like as dumb as they are, they are super fun. Right, Yeah, you have too much important, right and do you have You have to be able to just recognize that, like, Okay, this, any any metric is flawed. Every single approach to this is going to be bad in a slightly different way. So in every common section of every list anywhere is gonna be a shit show. Oh yeah, it's yeah, totally ye indeed. Uh. Thomas from Tucson, Arizona writes in and says is riff Raff the only real rapper and he puts real and sneer quotes to mention Sonic the Hedgehog on one of his hot bangers. Also also, is Sonic a viable subject for a rap song in today's modern age? No ps neon Icon is a great album, don't tonight it's it has its moments. I would not call it. I probably wouldn't call it a great got the one with Tiptoe and in My George? Yeah, yeah, okay, which that song caught on and I I was not a huge fan of it. What Charles Hamilton has a whole I want to say, he's got a whole fucking tape about Sonic the Hedgehog or something, but uh, I'm gonna look. I have to look it up now. I have to fucking fact checked fact check this. Uh I remember, you know Biggie mentions the Genesis and yeah, Sonic although the video ad him playing street Fighter two, didn't it, which was both okay yeah yeah, just playing that discography, I have to be right on this. It's gotta be a Wikipedia page out there, it is. But in rap songs, Sonic fan base is crazy songs. Yeah, that has to exist. It appears that there's an album from Charles Hamilton called Sonic the Hamilton's from two thousand and eight. That's a mixtape of some kind from the looks of it, hosted by DJ ski. It's on that piff. Okay, you know what it's on that piff. I understood like six words in that website mixtapes. It's a really good name for that. It's super not it's it's kind of amazing. Should we hear a little brief pooh boy, that bit of enter the Hedgehog? Okay, well, actually, if it's called that, then yes, all right, all right, this is already sec. It's just a TV intro handholme to be fair, it's a ripping trap. Yeah, oh yeah, you would want to wrap over it. The sound of Sonic jumping on someone. It's that you can be used to. All right, Sonic getting air. All right, that's all you can do. I've proved my point at the bare minimum. Sure, all right, email answered, Let's move on. Uh. Damon from Texas writes down about Level Lord. Finally the topics that matter. Don't get your hopes up. I tried to track that a level Lord. Since you guys were curious. Around seven years ago, Richard the level Lord Gray found it let it Rain games. They created Becky Brogan the mystery of mean Manner. It's just a lame hidden object game. Yeah, as of now, the let it Rain website no longer exists and there has been no words since on level Lord. He made one hidden object game and vanished. You know his the company got bought by some other people. Are you sure? Yeah, we're sure, not thinking about ritual company who worked out before got bought by like a big mobile game, like Casual Game. I just looked. Yeah, you might be right, you might, but that happened before. Also, I did at some point have that information about him making a hidden object game or being part of a company that did, but that that faded away. So were you small or were the objects small? Or were the objects huge? Were they hidden in plain sight because you were tiny? Like this paper clip doesn't even look like a paper clip. It's so huge to me. Maybe we should find mind the hidden answers? All right, okay, uh, workshop that email comes in from Grant Uh, I don't remember the pulling this email out. Let's just read it and discovered together. Yeah, my name is Grant from California, and I have one simple question. Where in the review spectrum do you guys start when playing a game. While playing a game and formulating an opinion about the game for a review, do games start at five stars and work their way down or one star and work their way up? Or do you guys play an entire game and form an opinion based on that's the entire Olympics need results. It's my least favorite question that we get all the time. That's that's ten years now now that I've read it. That's why I put it in here because like I feel like it just needs to be addressed because people you probably subtract one for the graphics, and then like when I started at zero and as I'm playing, it's like I have a calculator ship. Okay, all right, see my starting full and drains every time I started three and the waivers back and forth. Yeah. Yeah. Like you see it constantly in like comment sections on reviews that people are trying to apply some kind of like metric too. It's like, wow, this would have been a tend but this happened. This happened, Like no, yeah, no, it's I mean we apply the scores is like, here is our feeling about the game upon completing it. Is this game good? Yeah? Yes, all right, how about it's a four star game? Yeah? Right? Is it amazing that it's a five I've always taken my notes written the review, and after I've written it, I read it again, do any proof reading stuff I need to, and it's like, yeah, it sounds like a blank. I've definitely like finished a game and thought like I could see this getting this score, and then written the review went Actually, now that my thoughts are down and I'm rereading it, yea, it's it's actually this score. Yeah, Like I don't know how many times I've heard the sentence like this reads like a yeah, it's not. It's not the like disagreements or adjustments don't happen. But I feel like the five star system is way easier to feel what the score is, you know, just based on your feelings, Yeah, what you've said about it. Yeah, like you kind of just kind of feel it in your gut, like, ah, this is a three star game. It's all right. Yeah. They're definitely cases where I go back and forth. Yeah, yeah, the score late in the process, but it's but it's nothing like you know, plugging numbers in a spreadsheet or Nope, not like the good old days. I'm literally plugging numbers in that spreadsheet and letting the math do the work. Yep, there's no science anymore. That's right. We took the science out of it and applied it to in a different man. We're bringing it back. Yeah, I mean that, you know. That's that's the ship that leads to people going like, oh, so you're saying this game is worse than this other game that you gave if no, yeah, we're saying, yeah, yeah, don't don't look at it like it's some scientific process. Uh. And it's it's a it's a topic I have no problem having long conversations about. It's just that people always ask the questions and the snightest worst, like it's it's who are you telling me? Yeah? This? Like every single question almost always starts with are you telling me that? Right? And like okay, well you're already starting off mad, so I'm not even out of time for this. And they never even fact run the idea that, like different people wrote like I got this a gi like if you review let's say a Mario game, and somebody reviewed a Mario game twelve years ago and gave it this score, and you gave it this Like, so you're game Former saying that they like that this game is better. It's like, no, that was a different guy twelve years ago. And also, don't be insane. Yeah, like apply some like common sense, common sense to this stuff, as opposed to just like honing in on these numbers like it's just some kind of rab transaction. Yeah. Those are my least favorite conversations. I've gotten that at like parties and stuff before, where it's like, okay, so at what point, look did you subpect Like I think that it was definitely a ten and you give it an eight point seven five? So what's been point twenty two? You are really going to some awesome fun hard who the fuck would grill you about video game review scores? And a part that's having a Minnesota. I specifically remember one situation and I couldn't. Oh. I tried really hard to get out of that, like Blake stuff. I'm sorry about that. I didn't know the protocol at that time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, I told the handy not to hire you. Yeah, I don't know. Uh, Diego writes in also from Texas with a very straightforward question, would you touch a poop for twenty dollars? Yes? Okay, dry like this like a cow bi or the question the cow cow bi, or like right out like a homeless guy's ass hoping. There's a big difference open to interpretation. If it was dry, yes, if it was fresh, and what's the porous? That's not the word I'm thinking of if you're talking about Because if you're talking about my finger grazing some poop of any consistency and then I go washing your hands, why not go wash your fucking hands? I guess it is good if the poop is next to a sink, Yeah, I'll just palm that. If it's like hey, yeah, if it's like hey, fucking ram your fist into this pile of pooh and then don't wash for six hours, and yeah, he's gonna need to be more than twenty bucks. Yeah, yeah, but it's it's a discussion, I mean, yeah, negotiation exactly. Everything, everything is on the tape. Yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah, we've got standards more than I'm yeah, right for you do free you know, you pay to touch it? To this point, literally, how often does like is that never tended to diaper. How often does actual like poop particles get on your skin? Poop particles? Yeah, Like you're not wearing gloves when you do this, are? You know? But sometimes you probably should. If there's a blowout, ye back, Yeah, that can get a little messy. Stuff doesn't leak out of the diaper? I can, yeah, depending on the I don't think the lead is more of a pressured oh plus spray. Right, So you do get poop on your hands, it's not just like you have proximity to poop. Yeah, mostly it's proximity. But okay, I've gotten some poop in my hands in my day tale for now. Yeah, we'll see. Yeah, twenty bucks we're on all right, if they want to film it or documented and have that to upload on the stuff. But it's just like, you know, hey, touch this poop. I don't give you twenty bucks, Like I guess you're showing me the twenty dollar bill right there. If it's hand it up, I move it somewhere like extended contact. That's more. You know, there's a lot to throw it. Yeah. I can't wait to see what mail bags result from this email. Right? The fuck have you done? Now? I put it out in the open, so if anybody does it, they're just an asshole. Oh jeez uh Nick from Seattle, I like that everybody just lists where they're from them. Also, I don't have to like find it in somewhere else, it's just right there. Uh. The talk around John Romero's new thing got me. Oh god, Kickstarter got canceled. Well no, well looka but that project, yes, so well they took it down. They say that they are working on a playable demo. Yeah they will, they well, they'll put it back prototype. Like the feedback they got was from people was like, hey, you don't even have a playable demo. How do we know that this is anything? Like what do you think They took it down and saying like, oh, we'll come back with another thing. And it's weird, like the language he was like, we've paused our Kickstarter, Like I don't think you can do that. And it's not like that they're going to suddenly have all that funding back a year later or whatever when they have their prototype. So I think it's like wow, but their language is very much like we paused my Kickstarter. Just fucking bullshit, So please put it out again once we make a new right, Yeah, a little risky, but I don't I don't know. I mean, like it it wasn't like flying toward its goal, but like kick track had it on track and target and make like one hundred and fifty percent or something like that. Yeah, maybe maybe this sad reality was they needed way more than that and thought that they would rock it past it or something and they're like that, but yeah, I don't know. Yeah, they should have a playable prototype, because that's that's all for the amount of money they were asking. That's a that's a big amount of money for like, hey we're making this arena shooter. Yeah, or you know, as they're the single player stuff too. Yeah, there's that. But anyway, all right, Nick from Seattle says the talk around Romero's new thing got me thinking it's all cyberpunk and no devil. What if it was half cyberpunk and half devil A devil punk if you will. A brief Google search brought up zero examples of the genre. What do you think it would look like? I suspect that that game will end up fully being part cyber part devil. Yeah. Yeah, so monochrome terminals and pentagrams yeah, asking penagrams, which is what Doom always was. I was gonna say, Okay, yeah, that's okay. I guess I guess your guest Doom is yeah kind of devil punk, isn't there in a way cyber demon? That's true. That's true, that it's a fucking demon from hell that's also a cyber Yeah, I guess that's true. I think. Sorry, Nick from Seattle, I don't think you got your answer. I'm i gotta say, after that last round of coverage that Doom got with people seeing the single player and stuff, I'm way more interested in seeing how that thing turns out. Yeah, Like the multiplayer really put me off. But they did not come see us on their tour, No, but they went to game Spot and saw some other stuff here and Danny talk about it. I want to see what that thing is, very much hoping we can get a look at that thing before it comes out. It doesn't it sounds like I haven't seen that footage, but like talking to Danny like it and some other people, it sounds like it's not just like the love letter to original Doom that I wanted, but it also sounds like it's kind of cool in its own way. Yeah, from what they were saying, Snap mapp, snap map. It saw a lot of people comparing it to to Wolf and Sign the New Order. Yeah, which makes sense something like that would happen. That there there are worse ways to reboot your classic shooters than what they did with that game. Cool game. So all right, Dan from Saint Louis with the news the next Zelda will be a WU and NX game. Those hanging on to the last shread of hope that Ninteno would reward we U owners has died. I'm an owner of two dying platforms with the WU and the Vita. Although there were several missteps on both platforms, I feel like I got my time and money out of them. But I've noticed there were different There were very different reactions online for the two. Groups of Vita owners are really angry at Sony for marketing this as a triple A machine, forcing their overpriced memory cards, and then abandoning the platform only a few years in. WEU owners seem mostly depressed, like they never expected to know to abandon them despite the very persistent rumors of the NX. What were fan reactions like to the quick death of other failed consoles such as the Saturn, Dreamcast, Virtual Boy and Jaguar for the Internet gave everyone a voice, which fan base seemed like the saddest or most insufferable no one. I mean, well, Jaguar fans were probably real sad people to begin with. So that's pretty rough fucking patch if you if you went down that rabbit. I don't know anyone that was just like I only owned a Jaguar, Like, I don't think that person actually existed. I didn't know a single Jaguar owner. No one bought Jim Riley seems the type. Yeah, no one bought a virtual voice, so no one cared. Saturn and the Dreamcast were definitely. Dreamcast was just like violent death throat. Dreamcast was just shock because it was just like, oh, they're they're pulling out. It wasn't like they were like, hey and we want you to buy our next console. It was like we're fucking done. Yeah. In fact, I would almost say like the death of the Dreamcast was overshadowed by the news that they were just getting out period. Yeah, and the Saturn making another one. The Saturn stuff was people complaining about Bernie Stolard, like if only you would put out the Capcom Fighting It. If you put out the RAM cartridge in the US, things would have gone differently. It's like, that's Dell, the funky Homo Sapien Poo. Game analysts on record saying the RAM cartridge would have done something different. You want to talk about the battle born things you want, Yeah, it's all in there. It's all in there. You want to talk about feeling the burn? Yeah, right to go back to the Saturn days. But yeah, I don't know, man, like the the we US stuff, the idea that like owners to be rewarded with more support, this is a business, like you're phrasing, if there were more of you, this wouldn't be a problem. You know. These the same people that got mad when Raymond Legends was coming to other consoles. I guess that was supposed to be ours? That was ours? Was like, oh that was a big thing. Who was who was that supposed to? When the cap Come five started going to other pops, Like, you know, that's just a it's a stupid mentality. Yeah, it's like the Phil Spencer tweeted that thing about like, wait, you're mad about other people getting to play this game, but have another right the Quantum Break stuff. Yeah, like that coming to PC, there were suddenly now like, how dare you bring my game? Like it's not yours? Also fuck you? Yeah, and you're still getting it like for we you owner, if you're still getting Zelda, like they're not abandoning you and saying, oh, it's only an x now. Also, guess what, you've still got the best version of Quantum Break. But yeah, yeah, that's a that's a fucking pretty shitty victory to have. Apparently they actually just put out a big update for the Windows ten version moves I want to break the suppose and I think they patched a bunch of stuff on Xbox as well. It sounds like they're whoa dropping my phone JEU. Sounds like they are. I looked away, and that looks way more violent and crazy when I wasn't looking directly at you. Uh yeah, it sounds like that game is getting fixed up. They can only fix so much with that thing. I might I might play Zelda on the Wi You when you play Twilight Princess on GameCube and play it at all? Oh, okay, well you can play it now. No, No, I can't, Okay, I don't know. This is weird. Part of me wants to see Zelda which version of the game will he be left handed? And I don't have to worry about that now. The last BNX has no I mean, it's hard to even have this conversation without knowing exactly what the NX is, but I wonder, I'm really curious what the differences are. Yeah, if anything, this is this is telling in a sense that, like, you know, it at least confirms that whatever the NX is, it's capable of running that game and standard stand and more importantly standard video games. Yeah, yep. And they did say in their statement that both versions have been developed in tandem, so yeah, we'll see how that stuff shakes out. That just makes sense. Yeah, the idea that, like, yeah, that at the end of life, that a fan base is to be rewarded for like kind of like loyalty or something like that. Like that's you know, it's nice if you can get it, but expecting it I think is really misguided. Yeah, mentality. Sure. Uh. Next email comes from Tom in Long Island, who says this just before the end of twenty fifteen during a Star Wars versus Fruit conversation. Finally, Jeff said pineapple is the best fruit because of its placement on pizza. While Jeff seemed ready to throw down over any disagreement, Brad was very quick to He says, parlay that conversation. I think he means delay or something of that fact, and it should wait until twenty sixteen. Well, gentlemen, it's twenty sixteen. Let's hear it. What fruit makes pizza better? You heathens? I am fully fully in that Pineapple camp, really absolutely did. We never had this conversation pine Camp. I agree with pineapple being the best fruit for sure. Wait, it's just just awesome. I gave fruit just blanket like fruit ranking. I don't think we'll talk about rankings. Let's do ranking of fruit. Clinking of fruit apple, it's pineapple? Really yeah, I mean I looks pretty good. Good. How are we just talking the actual fruits or the flavors as they existed? I think that the actual it has to be everything about the fruit, from from texture to like a messiness to everything. I bought some strawberries over the weekend, and remember that strawberries are super delicious. They can be they can be like like like out of season or like kind of sour strawberries not like straw Strawberries can be kind of crappy if they're not ripe, and like, I think they might be number two. I think pineapple and strawberry. I like bananas I can't eat just like whole strawberries so good. I got some bread right now. Bananas are awesome. Yeah, yeah, big on bananas. Wrong with an apple? Yeah, you can you get me one. I had an apple a couple days ago that maybe been sitting around a little like a couple of days. Any fruit's gonna go bad. But I've had some that were like, you know, I'd get them home from the store and they were kind of like, oh, this is like mushy and a grimy. You're picking them, Like why why aren't you like inspecting them before you put them in your back? Even fresh like golden delicious ones are not delicious. I don't think they're pretty good. They're okay, They're not like pine apples draw very good, but they're good, right. But there's yeah, there's lots of apples that are much much. I think some of these honey crisp apples are. We got to get into brands strains like that og Bubba cush honey dip apple. That's good with a white widow. Yeah, crossbread with the girl scout. Yeah, those apples. Yeah. Grapes. Grapes are good. Grapes are good. I'm a green grape kind of guy either way, as long as they're seedless. Seedless. Yeah, well it's watermelon, watermelons. I don't like watermelon, man, I only like well candy, like I like jolly ranchers. Okay, candy. Watermelon is really really different. You ever put salt on watermelon? That sounds great, We should do that, strange, Yes, that's how we used to eat it, that auther thing. Yeah, I guess I just have what we did on it. But like, is someone saying that, like pineapple shouldn't go on pizza because I I can like, I can understand why people would have that fine on pizza. I like it. I just don't think fruit goes on pizza. I understand cheese with you. I understand why people like it, but not it's I'm not a fan of I like a just pineapple and ham. It's nice if that's sitting on a table and free, all go up and eat a couples about like ham. You know, it's like sometimes you want like a sweet glaze on on a on a ham and pineapple kind of taps into that a little b it's a little too like sweet forward for me. Though it's not a it's not. It's a very different pizza. But I think, you know, I kind of be in the mood for It's not like most of the time when I say to myself, I'm gonna get it, God damn pizza for starters, I just I disrobe and then I order the pizza, and then it's it's just gotten me on it. Cheese. I don't just like anything that distracts from cheese and meat. And that's why I don't get peppers. I don't get all lives. I don't get anything like that. A bunch of meating and a bunch of cheese. I like a bunch of vegetables on pizza that no onions know anything. I think you could do a fig on a pizza. Oh, I don't like bugs. That's an interesting idea. I could be into that. Maybe a date, Yeah, some dates. Maybe dates are like grapes. Right, I feel like you're getting into like fancy pizza territory. Fig At some point these are okay. At some point, these are flatbreads, and we got to talk about straight like pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa John's menu items. Real cranberries would work. Maybe maybe a those too hard. I don't know if I ever had what, like, what about like a cranber what you may like thanksgiving those pizza what you're saying, like like a turkey sausage and cranberry. I just I'm not a big cranberry sauce kind of guy to begin with, So I think that might work. All right, it's pasted lunchtime, I'm cutting. Yeah, let's talk about banana better sandwiches. Oh, no, more food that's probably Oh you've never had one. I probably have. Oh you add the honey to it or I do that sometimes. Yeah, we can go full listen to the bacon and all that stuff. It's that's great. Yeah, yeah, burger yeah with yeah, peanut butter and banana. Oh god damn. All right, put a frieda egg on a burger. Okay. Also I looked up parlay and yeah, totally huh. Who would have thought? Yeah, I'm so longer. All right, Yeah, sorry, I gotta get back to strawberries in the fridge. I gotta eat, you know, what I think it's gonna be. It's gonna be the last female anyway. It turns out okay from Zach and Maryland. It's about vaping spiers. We're experts. Yeah, let's get just hear about the pgs, the VGs. Yes, I will condense propolin gly call. It's a vegetable. Why do you know this? You have to know, so go. You don't happen to know at all, It will never come up. Well, I had to know if you if you're into knowing, here's some some interesting stuff. I will condense parts of this. This is a long emails. I'll pick out the good stuff. Heldo podcast. I'm an avid listener and figured I would write in to give you guys some insider information from an ex employee of a quote respectable vapor company that's that's not a that doesn't exist. Between January, accidentally cleaned the broom into the juice vats and came up with a new flavor. Is that what he's gonna say? Between January and March, I decided to work at my local vapor shop as I was waiting for my UPS position to be available. My vap shop is considered one of the bigger ones, as they have a large warehouse down the road that manufactures premium e juice that has sold, shipped, and advertised internationally. First off, yes, I do vape, I do enjoy it. I am not what one would consider a cloud chaser. Okay, I simply us. Don't translate here. A cloud chaser are the people that like get into fucking ripping fat clouds and like the competitive vaping, like vaping equivalent of fucking rolling coal. Yeah wait, so they're actually competing to who can make the bigger actual let me, let me read the email. I simply used it as a healthier alternative to smoking what used to be a pack of Newports a day. Happy to say that it's been three years since I made the switch on my wallet, lungs, tongue, et cetera. All thank me for it. Hopefully hopefully that all holds up long term. Yeah. Yeah, say what you will about the contents of the juice, but I did notice a difference in that food tasted better, smells smelled better, and then we're hacking up gross cigarette flim that information aside. Man, I cannot stand some of the people in the vaping community. Well, yeah, I remember working at the shop stocking shelves and having an actual complaint filed against me for quote walking through a customers six smoke ring. When I laughed at my manager as he told me this, thinking there is no way this could have actually been a serious issue, he pulled me into the back to have a talk. You have to understand, he said, that guy is no ordinary customer. He is sponsored. He's a professional cloud blower. Oh yeah, apparently this guy gets about fifty dollars worth of free ship every month from the shop for no other reason than the fact that he can blow a fake smoke ring. I cannot tell you how many times customers came in showing me their quote sick rigs and me having to act as though I gave a ship at all. Let alone know what they were talking about. He goes into a bunch of detail about the contents of the liquid that I will skip over here, but chemicals. Yeah, the lenis skipped down here a little bit. He dropped some anecdotes at the end from his time at the shop. One customer came in with a backpack. On the backpack had a car battery in it to power his rig with a long hookah like hose coming out the side. No way in hell that thing was regulated, and we wonder why kids get hurt vaping, posting or watching sub omen bro sure he was hosting or watching a quote cloud competition is by far the most boring fucking thing anyone can ever do. I was a black sheep for sure, as everyone around me was excited and losing their ship at the seemingly identical clouds spewing out of people's mouths over and over again. Uh. Let's see, he says, old people typically get the strongest nicotine levels possible as well as tobacco flavored vape juice. Makes sense, they're setting their ways. Yeah, I guess so. Uh. He talks a little bit more about that. That's pretty much it. He says, I'm not sure what the hell is in menthol juices, but it gives me the nastiest and most painful hiccups I've ever had in my life. So there's a little cautionary tale, I guess good to know. Anyway, Yeah, some tails from the front line of the vape scene. That just so. What Okay, Jeff, you probably know this. What makes a sick rig like is it is? This is this like stoners that are like, oh, check out my cool it looks like a whale or whatever. Yeah, it's it's that it's not that mechanical like, oh, it's breaking down the whatever. Well, so it's there. There are parts to a rig. There's the coil that heats up the juice. There's the battery, there's the you know, the transfer of power from the battery to the coil. There's there's uh, you know, these different box mods and all this other stuff along the way. There's you know, I guess I imagine that they probably replace the tip to you know, make it more effective at delivering the vape to you into your lungs. I guess I don't know, it makes the bigger clouds, yeah if yeah, you know. And then there's something called suboming, which I'm not one hundred percent sure what that is, but it's an electrical thing that some people say might be dangerous in terms of like it might blow up. Is that why some guys wearing like a Ghostbusters pack into a vape store? Yeah? Probably, Yeah, because he's trying to fucking he's trying to fucking be the sickest because you know, like think about it, like the same people that are obsessive about upgrading their PC or or car stereos or or the cars. You know, it's I got this fucking awesome, fucking four banger carburetor on your fucking holly carbs, fucking full race cams. You know, it's it's that, it's craft beer, it's it's fucking weed strains. So insufferable people from all walks of life. No, yeah, yeah, okay, insufferable people are everywhere. We are almost certainly insufferable, certainly to a lot of people. Uh, for for whatever the fuck we're into. Yeah, before before you write your angry email or you know, take personal offense, because of everyone is shy about everyone is shitty about something like Yeah, you know, there's there's nothing wrong with you as a person if you enjoy vaping. Yeah, Like we don't hate you or anything, but like, and it's something you know, you gotta be able to laugh at it at some point, you know. That's like the Yeah, people go way the funk over the top. I think that a lot of the people that are way into fucking comic books and stuff are bummer Like it's it's a bummer to hear them talk because they're always so mad about comic books. I mean, I feel that way about like people are that way with video games and wrestling. But that's exactly but I am that way, yes, and I am that way about video games and wrestling. So it's like, yes, everyone has their you know, anime is the fucking comic books? Is video games? Is wrestling? Follow is vaping? Many people on Twitter who like wrestling. I will say that right now there's been a bit of a resurgence, and I almost want I feel like maybe we are slightly to blame with like this circle of people that you may be following that this is that we may have accidentally caused some part of this, and for that I apologize. But watch rest. Yeah, but the point stands like, like anybody can get super in. A lot of the arguments are identical too, you know, if it's you know, if it's fucking, it's the same people that we're arguing about Ford versus Chevy. It's the exact same mentality that goes in Yeah, Calvin pissing on an Xbox Yeah yeah, uh you know. But if anything like vaping is such a new concept that to see how hard people are going on is what's so crazy, you know, Yeah, but that's because it is. It is this unregulated wild West, so people there's a lot of room to move. Like I remember when the god, what's my first those little like USB chargeable e cigarettes world is like my first exposure to that sort of thing, and I was like, that's fucking awesome. That's yeah, it's a cyber cigarette, right, Yeah, I think that's you know, on some level, I feel like the idea of cyber smoking is our dark future. It's everything we need to fucking get to. But then we got to it in the shittiest way where like all the people, no, none of the people are cool fucking bounty hunters. They just fucking they're not out there fucking just think they're solving computer crimes. They just yes, they just think they are. They just they just bought the trench coat and the fucking vapor egg and they're like, I'm done, blow fucking sick clouds up your utililt. You can't you can't be flexible. It's gonna if you're gonna talk the talks, then you gotta vape the vape. Nope, no, no, I will I will happily learn everything like I will happily learn passive things that I can pick up along the way. But if you're actually telling me that I need to vape the ants, there is no never, no, all right, absolutely not under no circumstances. All right, twenty bucks, fair enough, I'm in. You can always wash your hands later. You have to what do I have to vaite? Wait? Wait? Wait, I should have asked that first. What do you have to It's just bunge poop? Oh man, you already said yes, I'm sorry. All right, I'm in. Whatever you have better better poop than fucking vape juice bomb cast a giant bond dot com has been an educational experience, has it? I don't. I don't know. All right, we made it, Drew, How did we do? I think? Didn't work? Yeah? Everything works a little light editing. All right, now, let's do record the podcast for a real start over. It was a good dry room dress rehearsal to remember everything you just said. And let's say it again. Let's just do the vape stuff up front this time out of the way. Well it's still fresh. Yeah yeah. Stuff changing on the production side here that will potentially impact schedules and how things go in the future. Yeah, Yeah, that's that's it. We'll have more to say about the that stuff once we kind of get a few more of these under our belt, get it kind of locked in. Let's please look forward to yes, yes, please understand it's an ongoing process, please, Joey. Yeah, we'll go back to Battlebourne at some point this week. Yeah, do something kind of formal with that uncharted art. Uncharted review coming soon? Uh yeah Thursday? Okay, uh quick click for Friday? No Monday Monday's yes, right, yeah, okay, all right, yeah Monday. Anybody else got anything going on? You want to pitch? I'm gone lunch. I'm gonna look at that horse racing solitaire game. Man, I want to see that thing real bad, like a little bit over the weekend. Is it good? It's really weird? Awesome, awesome? Look like just a quick teacher for next week when we'll really talk about it. It starts with your character dying, right, and he wakes up in this black void and realizes he doesn't want to be dead, and this angel man shows up and tells him that if he gets are they good at horse Solitaire? I'll bring it back to life. Is there actual horse racing in it. Yes, and you screen there is a horse race happening on the bottom screen. You're quickly playing Solitaire to try to make your horse run fast. Why don't they put that on phoones? Yeah, that is a mobile app from to know that I would play. All right, let's let's get the f out of here and go eat some food. Great. I don't will edit this podcast and after which that, after that point you will hear it. Uh, we'll see you next week.
