Now Here's Matt Jones walcome back. 00:01:06 Speaker 4: It is Kentucky Sports Radio Hour number two, Open at lunch here at the KS Bar and Grill, where it is cold and icy but also happy. 00:01:17 Speaker 5: It is happy. 00:01:18 Speaker 2: It's it's Timmy. Here are a big bowl of chili. Sounds so good. We've got the best chili here. 00:01:22 Speaker 4: There's been a move, there's been a motion to name Chili Gillespie Chili Collie Stine in move, what do you think I mean? 00:01:30 Speaker 5: I named Chili Gillespie, So that's got it's gotta come through me. 00:01:32 Speaker 2: Said Chili Gillespie with the one had the on top of the corn bread. This one doesn't have corn breads made. 00:01:36 Speaker 6: This is a separate so that can be chili Collie Stein. 00:01:39 Speaker 5: Yeah, certainly we call it that. It made you run like Cutler and little runs play there. I don't think we want to chili. Everybody knows how chili works. We all had chili. 00:01:50 Speaker 4: I don't think that was the why we were promoting it though. A twenty to eighty seven. What person says, Matt, with your ratings, you need to give credit where credit is due, and that is with the fans, including the fans of Louisville, Arkansas, Tennessee, among others. 00:02:05 Speaker 6: More haters we get, the more listeners you get. Oh. 00:02:07 Speaker 4: I would say a good fifteen to twenty percent of the audience of this show hate listens. I think we have a lot of Louisville listeners. I mean that's been confirmed. I think we have Arkansas, Tennessee listeners. We also have like just people who steak steek to sports and they just get wanted. They don't want me to talk about politics, but then they kind of do so they can get mad about it. 00:02:29 Speaker 6: Like there. I think no haters are part of it. That's the old Howard Stern line. 00:02:34 Speaker 4: You know, they if they if they like you, they listen, but if they hate you, they listen twice as much. 00:02:40 Speaker 6: So I do think that's part of it. 00:02:41 Speaker 2: They want us to stick to sports. Yet we just got a forty in a ratings demographic. I think we figured it out. 00:02:46 Speaker 4: All right, Let's do a couple things before I go back to phones. It was announced yesterday that there will be a new Hallmark movie coming up out in April about the Kentucky Derby. Okay, it's going to be about two people who fall love based around the Kentucky Derby. It's called Kentucky Derby Love. It's called Derby Love, Derby Love, Derby Love. It was filmed apparently around Oldham County, Bullet County, and Jefferson County. 00:03:12 Speaker 6: Shannon, are you in? Are you in Derby Love? No? 00:03:15 Speaker 7: This is one I'm not in. I think it's called Kentucky Roses. 00:03:18 Speaker 6: Same thing. 00:03:19 Speaker 4: I'm calling it Derby Love, Derby Love, Derby Love. 00:03:24 Speaker 6: I think Derby Love is a better name than Kentucky Rose. 00:03:26 Speaker 2: I agree, that's a different kind of movie. I think what Derby Love? 00:03:31 Speaker 6: What's wrong? What's wrong with Derby Love? 00:03:32 Speaker 2: That might be an R rated movie, not a Hallmark movie. 00:03:36 Speaker 4: I don't know what that means. Yeah, exactly. He can make up Hallmark movie weird? 00:03:43 Speaker 6: All right? 00:03:43 Speaker 4: So they filmed, so I didn't. I don't know if I told you this. I have a friend in Louisville who, like she has created an acting career basically by only being in Hallmark movies. 00:03:53 Speaker 6: That are filmed in Kentucky. 00:03:54 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:03:55 Speaker 4: There are like ten Hallmark movies a year filmed in Kentucky, most of them in Oldham County, and she's in all of them. 00:04:01 Speaker 5: Midway, I had one a couple of years ago. 00:04:02 Speaker 4: She's literally in all of them, like she'll be like, I play the role of nurse or something in this one. She's in every one of them. And I think she was in Derby Love that's coming. 00:04:11 Speaker 6: Out for Kentucky. I have never seen a. 00:04:15 Speaker 4: Movie on hall on Hallmark before, but I'm contemplating Derby Love because it's because it's all Kentucky, not only shot here, set here. Apparently it will be full of Kentucky references. 00:04:27 Speaker 2: So what's what's the attraction is shooting all these movies in Kentucky and Oldham County. 00:04:30 Speaker 4: They got there's a little bit of a there's a tax break. It's also cheap, so there's a From what I understand, there is a production crew that's faced here that knows how Hallmark likes to shoot their movies. 00:04:43 Speaker 6: And there are all people who live here. 00:04:45 Speaker 4: Apparently Oldham County people rent out their houses, so a lot of the shoots are in people's houses in Oldham County. And then there is there are tax breaks, but other states have that too, But it's just Hallmark has found a home. So when you watch a Hallmark movie, like half of all the movies that are on the Hallmark channel are shot here. 00:05:04 Speaker 2: I didn't realize that most of them in and around Louisville. I've heard, you know, time every now and then one show up. I didn't know with that many. 00:05:11 Speaker 4: There's a lot. And now we have Derby Love. So are you gonna watch Derby Love Kick Roses. 00:05:17 Speaker 5: I'm gonna watch both of them. I can't wait. I'm gonna assume that, you know, she moves back and falls in love with the horse trainer in Louisville. 00:05:24 Speaker 4: You know, I think that the premise was the son of the CEO of the Derby, the Derby is having financial problems, and in the midst of his crisis, he meets a woman. 00:05:34 Speaker 6: He meets a woman and they fall in love. Like around the horses. 00:05:38 Speaker 5: We're supposed to believe, the Derby has financial fun I paid twenty six dollars for a drink last year, and they have financial problems. I will happily watched the show. I'm excited about I just watched the Bills Hallmark movie where they've. 00:05:49 Speaker 6: Been Ray Davis at the bar where we did. 00:05:50 Speaker 5: The radio show. 00:05:51 Speaker 6: Yeah, so so that so you're excited about it. Oh, I'll put it on the list. You know, I've never once watched anything on the Hallmark channel. I don't know what it is. 00:06:02 Speaker 4: I really don't know anything about like I know, I think they all have the same premise, Shannon, if you ever watched the Hallmark movie. 00:06:08 Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and DJ from Full House is in like almost all of them. 00:06:12 Speaker 7: I think that's what she does. 00:06:13 Speaker 3: Now, DJ from Full House their named Candace Cameron. Yeah, she's in like so many Hallmark movies. I think she only does Hallmark movies. 00:06:21 Speaker 4: No, interesting, Okay, I didn't I did not know that there was a bunch of Sopranos holdovers in the one I watched with Ray Davis. Sopranos people like anyone that was a beat list? Uh, like all the Mafia people. Yeah, well a lot of them in there. 00:06:36 Speaker 6: Oh interesting? Well, al all right? 00:06:38 Speaker 5: Works somewhere. 00:06:38 Speaker 4: Also Saturday, here in Lexington, they are having for the first time the hot Dog Hop. 00:06:45 Speaker 6: Do you know what the hot dog Hop is? I've not heard of this. I think this is mostly for college kids. But right I think they would let. 00:06:51 Speaker 4: You do it all right for for five hours, eleven different places in restaurant, eleven different places in Lexton are serving special hot dogs and you can sign up for the hot Dog Hop and they give you a hot dog costume and you walk around all the restaurants drinking and eating hot dogs. The goal is to eat eleven hot dogs over the course of the day. Or what is it, Glizzies. 00:07:18 Speaker 6: This is built for Ryan. Yes. 00:07:22 Speaker 4: Now, it's like I said, I think it's mostly college kids, so i'd be careful. You just showing up and you know, maybe trying to have some other people your friends there. 00:07:30 Speaker 6: But do you like the idea of the hot dog hop? 00:07:32 Speaker 2: I love it. 00:07:32 Speaker 4: Apparently goes all over the country. It's the first time it's been in Lexi. 00:07:35 Speaker 2: I've never heard of it. But you know, put a hot dog costume on it. I'm in you gonna walk around and eat hot dogs all day. 00:07:41 Speaker 6: It feels like it's gonna be really cold though for this, what a great time. 00:07:44 Speaker 2: Maybe it's an insulated costume. 00:07:47 Speaker 6: Okay, it's like a coat. 00:07:48 Speaker 5: Some of my favorite memories from college were on snow days. Just bounce around town. We shouldn't be out. They're gonna have a great time at the hot dog hop. And I would go if I could. 00:07:56 Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, So that's the And then the third piece of news the judge in Alabama that was the donor of Alabama, but was ruling on Badako's case. He recused himself after I said I didn't think there was any way he would he threw it in my face. He recused himself, saying he wasn't sure if he could be impartial. And now they'll get the NCAA will get a different judge, but it has to be a judge in Tuscaloosis, so he's probably a donor too. 00:08:22 Speaker 6: But nevertheless, what do you think of that? 00:08:24 Speaker 2: That's that's the right move. I didn't know he was gonna be able to do this, but obviously you think somebody was talking to him in his ear, like, hey man, you're gonna lose all credibility if you stay on his case. You got to do the right thing and recruise recuse your help. What recuse yourself right now? 00:08:37 Speaker 6: Yes? What does that mean? 00:08:39 Speaker 2: Remove himself from the case, because because he could be impartial, he's a booster. He's rolling on a case involving an Alabama basketball player. 00:08:46 Speaker 6: But you sound like did you go to law school? 00:08:48 Speaker 2: I slept at a holiday express last. 00:08:50 Speaker 6: Oh gosh, can he just get a different joke. 00:08:52 Speaker 5: It's like you just pulled the string. 00:08:53 Speaker 4: I know, but that's that's a good job. That's exactly what recusal is. Do we think this dude ends up playing in the end a tournament? He's double digits both games played. 00:09:04 Speaker 5: Yes, and it's probably he probably wanted the guys to stepped out like this kid probably wants to win a legit case. And no matter what happened in the case of the head that judge, no one was gonna believe it. They were gonna continue to mock it. But I expect he'll still play. And that's just the world we live in now. I expect to see him in the tournament in college. 00:09:22 Speaker 4: Well person rights, Matt, there's a Hallmark movie being filmed right now in Henderson. The whole town is a buzz about it. That's getting close to my neck of what is that called Henderson? I was about to say, Hucci, I don't think that would be a Hallmark movie Henderson Happiness. 00:09:38 Speaker 2: Maybe how about that. I didn't understand the connection why all these films are Hallmark films were coming to Kentucky. 00:09:46 Speaker 4: But I've been I've been telling most of them is because the crew like there are Sennon's right, there is a tax thing, but most states now have that. But there is a crew here that films the Hallmark style and they don't have to bring people in from out of state to do I. 00:09:58 Speaker 7: Guess like asking me to be an extra and I keep saying. 00:10:02 Speaker 6: Nope, they ask you to be an extra. 00:10:04 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I was in an extra in a movie that just came out in theaters. Actually, yeah, no, there's another one. 00:10:09 Speaker 7: I mean you were in another movie with al Pacino and Bill Scarsguard. 00:10:13 Speaker 6: What. 00:10:14 Speaker 7: Yeah, I was a police officer. You see me for about two seconds the man. 00:10:18 Speaker 6: You talking about you were in a movie with al Pacino. 00:10:21 Speaker 7: I mean I wasn't. I was in the same movie as an extra. It wasn't like we hadn't tell us this. I did last year. We filmed it last year. I was a cop. 00:10:30 Speaker 5: Remember we had the real goofy looking state Sheriff's outfit. He put his selfie. 00:10:35 Speaker 7: Were you not here for that? 00:10:36 Speaker 6: Maybe I was in Europe? 00:10:37 Speaker 2: Maybe he was out. 00:10:38 Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, I have no memory of you being in a movie with al Pacino. 00:10:42 Speaker 6: I feel like that would have stuck with me. 00:10:45 Speaker 3: Well, what was it called dead Man's Wire. It's in theaters right now. 00:10:49 Speaker 5: Just came out. 00:10:50 Speaker 6: Yep, it just came out. 00:10:51 Speaker 7: Yeah, like last week, did you. 00:10:53 Speaker 6: Get invited to the premiere? 00:10:55 Speaker 4: Uh? 00:10:55 Speaker 7: No, but I showed up anyway. The one in uh Louisville. 00:10:58 Speaker 6: Oh, they had one in Louisville. They did. 00:11:00 Speaker 2: Yeah, so you can see you in the movie. 00:11:01 Speaker 3: I mean, look, I'm an extra two seconds maybe at the most. You see me opening up a door as we're bringing out the hostage. 00:11:08 Speaker 6: And did they film that here? 00:11:10 Speaker 7: Yes? 00:11:11 Speaker 6: And was al Pacino here? 00:11:14 Speaker 7: I didn't see him, but yeah, probably so. 00:11:17 Speaker 5: I had to have been. There's no way. He tweeted a selfie of the outfit. We're asking if he's gonna keep it? 00:11:24 Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, Bill scars Guard was definitely here. I don't know if you know who that is, but he's I know who's. 00:11:28 Speaker 6: Yeah, I know who Bill scars Guard. 00:11:30 Speaker 5: I saw Patino filmed his part in the whole movie in like a few hours. He was in Louisville for a day. 00:11:34 Speaker 4: Yeah, do that, but that's where they like, I gotta pay him a lot. Then he gets in and out. 00:11:39 Speaker 6: Okay. 00:11:39 Speaker 5: I have the name of the one in Henderson, what is already It is called Happy Holly Day. It's about a woman named Holly Day who loves Christmas and her neighbor Carol does not. First of all, I went to high school with a girl named Holly Day. Could be about her? Does she have a neighbor named Carol? 00:11:59 Speaker 2: There we go, she got a movie in after her. 00:12:00 Speaker 5: Now tension builds because one lawn is filled with decorations and the other is not. 00:12:05 Speaker 4: Wow, so it's like a fight over inflatable Santa Claus added. 00:12:10 Speaker 5: Tension occurs that her son has an interest in Holliday and she is horrified by that. 00:12:17 Speaker 6: Huh. Well, I actually went to high school with the girl named Hollyday. 00:12:20 Speaker 4: I hope it's a story about her because she always was very pleasant. 00:12:23 Speaker 5: And they're also filming in Owensboro, Ron. You could go check it out. 00:12:26 Speaker 6: Wow, Kentucky is the center of the movie universe. Who's up next? 00:12:30 Speaker 7: Brandon? 00:12:31 Speaker 6: Brandon? Go ahead, Brandon? 00:12:33 Speaker 8: Hey, guys, first time, long time who. 00:12:37 Speaker 9: Former? 00:12:37 Speaker 8: iHeartRadio personality and Lectionington as well. So I'm aware of what a forty is. That's amazing, good job, thank you, and a couple of things real quick. I would pay darn good money to be in the Kentucky locker room before they came. And here Bob and Jamestown give a speech. 00:12:53 Speaker 4: Yeah, that would guarantee an eighty point loss. 00:12:57 Speaker 8: That would be great fun. The other thing, UK memorabilia. I promise this exists. I have seen it. My friend's grandfather got an award for being like the most wild UK fan or whatever back in the back in the late sixties. It is a stuffed blue frog that has UK and white lettering stitch on the back and it is a very blessed anatomically correct frog with that. I appreciate my call. 00:13:25 Speaker 6: I appreciate the call. Wow. 00:13:27 Speaker 2: Huh a UK frog. 00:13:31 Speaker 4: I think they used to do more of that kind of stuff, Like I think they, like you were telling me, there's Adolph Rup chili. 00:13:36 Speaker 2: Yeah, Brookis Chili. They sell it now on individual packets. 00:13:41 Speaker 5: I think they still don ally brought it back uh. 00:13:43 Speaker 2: Uh yeah, the Bowie Alley brought it back South in Lanes. 00:13:45 Speaker 6: Yeah. I have one at home. 00:13:46 Speaker 2: I got one at home. 00:13:48 Speaker 6: Wow. I had no idea. 00:13:49 Speaker 5: We do miss these things. I do. 00:13:51 Speaker 4: I think we if they the more of that kind of stuff, like if okay, jay am I you want to make some money, put the UK logo and on random weird things underwear? 00:14:02 Speaker 6: Yeah, oh you do you not think UK underwear would sell. Of course it would, Oh my goodness, of course it would. It would sell a ton like you could. 00:14:11 Speaker 4: You could put UK firs, so you could put it on anything you want. But the weirder the better for me, right. 00:14:18 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, listen, I love a new Nike hoodie, but in thirty years I'm not gonna care about that. It's these little trinkets and random items people. 00:14:25 Speaker 4: Have you tell you give me a UK anatomically correct frog could never part with shan and I would that would be on my mantle. 00:14:33 Speaker 6: Well maybe not my mantle. 00:14:35 Speaker 7: It was very blessed. I don't it off there. 00:14:37 Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm just saying I think that I actually think you want to sell stuff. I'm not even kidding sell weird stuff. We all have shirts, but we don't all have you know, underwear. 00:14:49 Speaker 2: UK wasn't that long ago. The guy showed up here at the restaurant had a UK coloring book from like the seventies where you could color pictures of Frank Kersey and the football teams on that. I've never seen anything like this before ever. 00:14:59 Speaker 6: Well there you go. 00:15:00 Speaker 4: By the way, I'm told that the new corn bread hemp ad with me is really slowed down, and it makes me sound like I'm drunk. 00:15:07 Speaker 2: You sound like you've had a lot of those. 00:15:08 Speaker 7: Report looks you something you're using the product. 00:15:12 Speaker 4: We're a few weeks into the knee and your resolutions are feeling harder to keep. Go to CORNBREADTHEMP dot com Buy one, get fifty percent off. 00:15:23 Speaker 2: What's the code, don't git, Yeah, don't quit. It's you know, you say it's done. 00:15:29 Speaker 6: Don't quit, Stock up and stay committed. 00:15:32 Speaker 4: It's Cornbread, sleep gummies, oils andtopicals, cornbreadthamp dot com promo code is don't quit o cornbred HEMP. 00:15:40 Speaker 6: This is the good life. 00:15:41 Speaker 4: By the way, the remote tomorrow was postponed due to weather, so no no, uh no remote tomorrow. We were gonna be in Davil, but we'll do it later in the year. We'll take a break. Very Backs, KISR. 00:15:54 Speaker 6: Movies, Welcome back. Take you sports radio. Did you know the new Love Is Blind is in Cincinnati. 00:16:03 Speaker 2: They're shooting it in Cincinnati right now, or it's airing it's already been shot. 00:16:07 Speaker 6: I don't know. 00:16:08 Speaker 4: I don't know if it's the one there's airing with since Cincinnati, or I actually think they've put out a casting call. 00:16:13 Speaker 6: I think it's like the next one's gonna be in since they. 00:16:15 Speaker 5: Already have the cast of people on it. I don't know if it's so. 00:16:17 Speaker 6: I guess it's already been so yeah, it was in Cincinnati. 00:16:20 Speaker 5: I love if they're trying to do new things, like we could do Love as Island Brazil. We do Love is Island Spain. No, they're doing Love Island, Ohio. 00:16:26 Speaker 4: Love Island Dayton. All right, Well, I mean that's interesting, right. Would you want to be on that show? I mean, I guess you all wouldn't because you're in love, but single, i'd go on one person, writes Matt. According to Google, there are a number of Hallmark movies being filmed in Kentucky in twenty twenty six. 00:16:45 Speaker 6: They include Derby, Love at Churchill Downs. 00:16:47 Speaker 4: Midway to Love, which is in Midway, The Ultimate Legacy, which is in Oldham County, and Bachelor Santa, which is being filmed in Owensboro. 00:16:58 Speaker 2: Wow. 00:17:00 Speaker 6: Pretty cool. 00:17:00 Speaker 5: Actually, And when I was reading the Holiday Story, there was an interview with the director and he said it was his eleventh Hallmark movie in Kentucky. So yeah, you're right there. 00:17:08 Speaker 6: That's the thing. I think we get most of the and. 00:17:12 Speaker 2: They want that hometown setting that's already established in the downtown of you know, Lagrange or some of these cities. 00:17:17 Speaker 4: The CBS Classic kick Saint John's out, yes, and added Kansas. I think they kicked Saint John's out because no one came from Saint John's even though they were playing Kentucky. So they added Kansas. So it's Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, and Ohio State. Now because Kansas is also in the Champions Classic, that means we will play Kansas two out of every three seasons. 00:17:40 Speaker 6: Do you like that Kansas is almost becoming an annual opponent. I do like it. 00:17:45 Speaker 2: I really kind of wish it was really kind of a home and home instead of always on the road of these neutral sides. 00:17:49 Speaker 6: I wish he did game Nexture's in Madison Square. Guard. 00:17:51 Speaker 2: Yeah, I would like to see him on the schedule, but kind of do the home and home like we used to do once in a while. 00:17:56 Speaker 5: I was hoping they wouldn't keep doing this event. But if you are, I'm glad It'sansas that's in there to make it a little better. But I'm with Ryan, I wish we could get more campus games We've done this in the Champions Classic, feels like a decade. I'm ready for something new. But at least they upgraded it. If they're sticking with it. 00:18:10 Speaker 6: Can I make the call? Can we get rid of Ohio State? Yeah? 00:18:14 Speaker 5: Champions No? 00:18:15 Speaker 6: Excuse me? 00:18:16 Speaker 5: This CBS never mind different, This. 00:18:17 Speaker 6: Is CBS class. 00:18:18 Speaker 4: But I mean, I don't know who who would you rather have into Big ten Michigan. I mean, I guess you gotta be careful about Purdue because if they're not good one year, then you wouldn't want them on the team. But Ohio State, I feel like just is not a marquee program. I'd rather have U con. 00:18:35 Speaker 5: The problem with talking trash about Ohio State and it is I think we're owing for again. I know, I know, we're actually the team that's stayed with in this. 00:18:43 Speaker 6: Yeah. 00:18:43 Speaker 4: I don't love this event either, but but they're gonna do it. And it's it's gonna be the Saturday before Christmas from now on all permanently. Yeah, it's the Saturday, it's the it's the last it's basically the Saturday of the first. 00:18:57 Speaker 6: Round of the playoff from now on. 00:19:00 Speaker 2: Well, I mean I kind of like that because when we had it in the you know, up against the football playoffs and kind of got lost in the shuffle a little bit. I like maybe going to its own little weekend. 00:19:10 Speaker 5: It like I said, I wanted to die. Maybe Kansas will give it a little more juice. Attendance hadn't even been great at this. 00:19:16 Speaker 6: They didn't getting good crowd though this year. 00:19:18 Speaker 5: Atlanta has been good on the time, I should say, but there was one in New Orleans like a couple of days agoing. 00:19:21 Speaker 6: To do this. 00:19:22 Speaker 4: You know, yeah, I think New York and Atlanta is the only place they've consistently gotten people. 00:19:26 Speaker 6: So I think that's probably where it ends up. Who's next? 00:19:28 Speaker 7: Doing good? 00:19:29 Speaker 6: Doing good? 00:19:30 Speaker 10: Go ahead, gentlemen, I'm doing good. I hope you're doing better. I wanted to get in touch. So you heard about heard about the ratings. So congratulations. You said two out of five people are listening to KSR. When you think about all the auctions on radio, that's amazing. I want to know who are these other three people and how do I get to have a talk with them because they need to start listening immediately. 00:19:55 Speaker 6: That's a good question. I don't know. 00:19:56 Speaker 4: I mean there you'd be amazed, though, there. There are a ton of people who I have no idea who we are. I still encounter people all the time. I always I like that because then they don't say, you know, stupid liberal like they just and they tend to be honestly, mostly people on my political side of the aisle like that tends to be the people who don't know who we are. 00:20:17 Speaker 6: I think most so. Yeah, but there are many. I appreciate the. 00:20:21 Speaker 2: Call and radio people will tell you this is the worst time slot of the day, and yet somehow we've made it work and become the number one show and the in that time slot. 00:20:30 Speaker 4: I need all of you that are listening to this show to check your phone. Yeah, this is not not those of you at home, the people that are on this show. Okay, someone just sent me a picture of this. 00:20:39 Speaker 6: Frogy what I can't tweet this out. 00:20:45 Speaker 2: That he said, very graciously blessed? 00:20:49 Speaker 6: Did How did U K make this? I don't know? 00:20:52 Speaker 2: Why don't they them thought that? 00:20:53 Speaker 6: Mario? Look at that? 00:20:56 Speaker 5: Is that even a frog? 00:20:57 Speaker 7: It looks like a well and down tooth. 00:21:00 Speaker 5: It looks like a tooth. 00:21:00 Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I don't. I wish I could. 00:21:05 Speaker 4: There's no way for me to share this publicly without I wish I could show you the listeners. This the winner for weirdest piece of UK member Billy I thought the underwear was the weirdest we have our winner. Nothing is going to beat this, would you agree? 00:21:23 Speaker 6: I had an idea in my mind. 00:21:24 Speaker 5: It is much worse. 00:21:24 Speaker 6: Yeah, much worse. 00:21:25 Speaker 4: When he called and said what it was, you're exactly right, I thought it was what. 00:21:29 Speaker 6: This is much worse? Who made this? 00:21:32 Speaker 5: There's personally I wish I could describe more, but I can't. 00:21:35 Speaker 2: And it's just a stuffed animal, right? 00:21:38 Speaker 6: Who can I get to post this? So it's not me. 00:21:40 Speaker 5: I'll post it. I don't care. 00:21:41 Speaker 3: I've already retweeted it. 00:21:44 Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I guess it's on Twitter. Yeah yeah, Drew, you post it. This looks like this is a dream posted. 00:21:49 Speaker 5: I'm trying to buy it. 00:21:51 Speaker 7: That's what you said. You want it on your mantle, Matt, Yeah, buy it from that. 00:21:55 Speaker 6: I've been Shannon, you retweeted it. 00:21:56 Speaker 7: Yeah, it's okay. 00:21:58 Speaker 6: All right, Well I'll let you of who's up next? Bill? Bill? Go ahead? Bill? Hey man? 00:22:08 Speaker 8: How you doing? 00:22:09 Speaker 6: I'm good. I can't get over. 00:22:12 Speaker 2: They thought that was a good idea. 00:22:13 Speaker 6: Go ahead, Bill, Hey, I. 00:22:16 Speaker 11: Talked to you. I called in a couple of days ago, saying the that was like a little fan listening like to you guys. I could see with like your ratings and everything, why that'd probably be. So I just want to say congrats. 00:22:28 Speaker 6: Hey you guys. 00:22:30 Speaker 11: But I did have a quick question hypothetically, if you could choose between a Kentucky national title or the Reds and Hurricanes winning a title, which one would you choose. 00:22:41 Speaker 4: I'd still choose a Kentucky national title. It brings me more personal joy. As much as I like the Reds and the Hurricanes, like when they win, I'm still kind of celebrating for the most part by myself for with the like with the Hurricanes, by myself. With the Reds, there's a couple of my friends. But with Kentucky, there's a joy it brings to the state. So I would still take Kentucky. Appreciate the call. I mean I I I would rank in terms of who I would like to see when a title Kentucky one, Reds two, Hurricanes, three, Bears four. 00:23:18 Speaker 2: I thought the Bears might be actually never. 00:23:20 Speaker 4: I love the Bears, but I think they'll get one. Hurricanes have been knocking on the door in the reds. It feels like they'll never have a chance, So that's why I would pick them. We'll take a break right back, KSR TJ. 00:23:31 Speaker 6: Smith personal injury attorney. 00:23:33 Speaker 5: Call TJ. 00:23:34 Speaker 7: He'll make them pay now. 00:23:35 Speaker 3: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:38 Speaker 7: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:40 Speaker 4: Welcome back Tukey Sports Radio A five, nine, two eighth, twenty two eighty seven. Ryan Hall y'all who finished second place in Meteorologists Madness five thousand dollars. Uh uh to Rubicon from White Grier Maggart. He just put out a weather alert for this weekend. Whether people new terms come out all the time, He's says this weekend in the Carolinas, there's a possibility of a bomb cyclone. 00:24:06 Speaker 6: What is that? 00:24:07 Speaker 4: A bomb cyclone? Up to a foot of snow, hurricane force winds with the snow. 00:24:16 Speaker 6: They call it a bomb cyclone. 00:24:19 Speaker 2: So we've had a frost quake and a bomb cyclone this week. 00:24:21 Speaker 4: Could be around everywhere. The snow would be from Charlotte up but around the outer banks, et cetera. Watch out for a potential bomb cyclone. 00:24:34 Speaker 5: Never heard that one before. They're ramping up the marketing with weather now, are they just trying to grab our attention even more? 00:24:39 Speaker 4: Bomb cyclone though, sound scary? Those are two words I don't want to be near. I don't want to be near a bomb. I don't want to be near a cyclone. 00:24:45 Speaker 5: If somebody says we've got snow this weekend, no one says bomb cyclone. You gotta start making some life decisions. 00:24:51 Speaker 6: What were they got the word bomb? I don't know. 00:24:55 Speaker 2: I tell you what this dude, there was a got a lot of credibility and respect. I think this in the past couple. 00:24:59 Speaker 4: Of week Yes, he he says, He says, do not underestimate the wind threat even if you don't see snow. So the Carolinas are wow, are in all alert. 00:25:12 Speaker 2: This weekend? 00:25:13 Speaker 4: This weekend bomb cycling. If I'm nine two eighty seven, who's up next? 00:25:18 Speaker 7: Let's go to Nick. 00:25:19 Speaker 6: Go ahead and. 00:25:19 Speaker 12: Nick, Hey, guys, good morning, congrats on the success, love the show. 00:25:25 Speaker 6: Thank you. 00:25:25 Speaker 12: Kind of a this is kind of an ask anything Wednesday question, if it's cool if I ask it you guys brought up on earlier. I found my I found myself in a really unfortunate situation in the past two years. 00:25:35 Speaker 10: I was at the Ohio State. 00:25:37 Speaker 12: Tennessee playoff game last year. That's the night we got our teeth kicked in by a high State Madison Square Garden decked out and head to Kentucky here, Okay, horrible, I mean, I mean, I had no friends on an east side. Ohio State's yelling at me, Tennessee yelling at me, their whole fan base. SATs two weeks go and Fadeville for the Tennessee Arkansas game, same situation, teeth kicked down by Alabama. I'm sorry, I just want to know from y'all you're going into a hostile environment like that, y'all decked out to go Kentucky gear. 00:26:02 Speaker 4: Yeah, you go first. You do not go to a road game and not wear Kentucky gear. If you're a Kentucky fan, you deck you deck out, and I appreciate the call. You have to consider your surroundings, Drew to decide how rude you're gonna be. I mean, I was at Kentucky Old Miss when we won, but I was at Kentucky Old Miss when we lost. And generally speaking, the only place I've ever been I've been to two places where where in Kentucky gear got me taunted at Indiana and then at Georgia that year when we played them in football, when they were barking at us. Otherwise, people generally don't aren't that bad? 00:26:36 Speaker 5: Oh, welcome it. I think he was asking though he was at a Tennessee out Arkans, like he was at two teams that were Kentucky. 00:26:42 Speaker 6: Wow. 00:26:43 Speaker 5: I think that's what he was saying. 00:26:44 Speaker 4: Yeah, now that's a little different because everybody can unify in their. 00:26:48 Speaker 5: He was at Arkansas Alabama, they both hated him in Tennessee. 00:26:51 Speaker 6: OHI yeah, now that's different. 00:26:52 Speaker 4: I might dress neutral for that just because I don't need any I get plenty of fights. 00:26:57 Speaker 6: I don't need them. 00:26:58 Speaker 5: I think it was kind of defended on my confidence right now. Absolutely not. I'm covering it up because they're just gonna make fun of me. But if we're winning and on top, yeah, I'm gonna go stick my chest out. 00:27:06 Speaker 6: Yeah. 00:27:06 Speaker 2: Now, that's not the best time to go out start pounding our chests going on to Arkansas Tennessee again wearing Kentucky stuff. 00:27:11 Speaker 4: All right, So I wanted to bring up something we you know, we're going to the super Bowl. The NFL is booking guests for us. Okay, okay, hey, so can I tell you who we are interviewing? 00:27:21 Speaker 2: Already set up? 00:27:22 Speaker 4: These are already set up there lamps on them. These are we are interviewing these people. And I the question is what am I going to ask these people? Terrell Davis? This is just me and Drew interviewing Terrell Davis. 00:27:36 Speaker 5: What do you think about Devin Keith? 00:27:38 Speaker 6: Hello, Terrell Davis. 00:27:40 Speaker 2: Remember when you played for the Broncos. 00:27:42 Speaker 6: How are you doing? 00:27:43 Speaker 5: It's excited to see your old team back. 00:27:46 Speaker 4: He's also, we also have to we also have to do the sponsors. So they're all brought in by sponsors. We have to plug the sponsor. Okay, So Terrell Davis is tar dive Diskinsea. 00:28:00 Speaker 2: I would learn how to make sure we pronounced that right. 00:28:02 Speaker 5: No, we asked him, and he tells us, Yeah, tell me what about getting paid to say it? 00:28:06 Speaker 6: Tell me about tardive disconcia. 00:28:09 Speaker 5: I think we're supposed to generically be like, so what are you up to this week? 00:28:11 Speaker 6: Terrell? 00:28:12 Speaker 5: And then he's like, let me tell you about tardive disconcia. And that's when he gets. 00:28:16 Speaker 6: His man right. Next Mike Golick senior. 00:28:18 Speaker 2: That'd be good interview. 00:28:19 Speaker 6: You know what I want to ask, how did you do radio with someone you hated? 00:28:22 Speaker 5: Yeah, when we got the email whose name my brain's like, Matts definitely has about the Mike and Mike dynamic. 00:28:27 Speaker 4: Well, they apparently hated each other. I mean that's the most interesting thing he could say. Do you think I can ask him? Did you and Mike Greenberg not to get along? 00:28:36 Speaker 2: I don't know if you want to talk about it in super Bowl week? 00:28:39 Speaker 4: Well, he's sponsored by d COM, so I can say, Look, I'll talk about your stupid d COMM. 00:28:44 Speaker 6: But did you hate Mike Greenberg? 00:28:46 Speaker 7: You should ask him, because what else are you ever going to talk to? 00:28:48 Speaker 5: Exactly? 00:28:48 Speaker 2: Have you ever met him before? 00:28:50 Speaker 6: No? 00:28:51 Speaker 4: No, he was there when we were at DraftKings that day. Remember he was doing the show with his son. They it was their debut. Oh, you weren't there, Drew and I were there. 00:28:59 Speaker 6: You flew home and I were there. 00:29:02 Speaker 5: I remember that. 00:29:03 Speaker 6: Yeah. 00:29:04 Speaker 5: But of all the people on the list, he's probably the one I would have the least to say to other than the Mike and Mike thing. 00:29:09 Speaker 4: I think you got Shannon, I can ask him that, right, I mean, I'll ask him in a nice way, but you did radio there's been like did you ever get mad at him? 00:29:17 Speaker 3: What's the worst is gonna happen. He's gonna like step away and then oh you lost an interview with him. 00:29:22 Speaker 4: Right, Sean Alexander, that's a good to say. He's say he's from Kentucky. Talk about Eric Witherspoon. Uh, my high school guy that went with They had a rushing battle that year. 00:29:33 Speaker 2: For the state rushing title. 00:29:35 Speaker 4: Yeah, we had Eric Witherspoon. He was at Boone County. They went for the rushing title. Eric was supposed to go to Penn State. He'll know who I'm talking about. 00:29:45 Speaker 5: I'll tell you that bow his mind. If you pull up the deep cut. 00:29:47 Speaker 4: No One, no one at the Super bowls asking him about Eric Witherspoon, he. 00:29:50 Speaker 2: Would probably really enjoy talking about that, going back to his glory days at Boone County. 00:29:54 Speaker 4: Yes, Uh, Christian McCaffrey, Goodwin, What am I gonna say? 00:29:58 Speaker 6: Though? You say? 00:29:59 Speaker 5: Good? 00:29:59 Speaker 6: What am I gonna ask? 00:30:00 Speaker 2: He's had a monster a couple of years. This year after coming off an injury. 00:30:03 Speaker 6: Okay, so what's the question. 00:30:05 Speaker 5: Does it hurt being here? You were so close? It's in your city. Does it make you want it even more that you're having to be a part of this and you're not in the game? 00:30:12 Speaker 2: Perfect question? 00:30:12 Speaker 6: Do you think you have too many brothers? 00:30:15 Speaker 2: Did they have a lot of brothers? 00:30:16 Speaker 6: Well? They all doesn't say, like ten McCaffrey's in the. 00:30:19 Speaker 2: NFL, right, I don't know. 00:30:21 Speaker 6: You don't know about the other one't just know about him? Okay. 00:30:23 Speaker 4: And then finally, uh, Taylor Lewan and Will Compton from Busting with the Boys. 00:30:29 Speaker 6: My god, Now that one's easy. 00:30:31 Speaker 4: I'm gonna go, hey, Will Compton, we stole your quarterback and you wind about it online. Remember he was the guy? Yes, So that one I'm looking forward to. That one might be a little confrontational, Drew. 00:30:41 Speaker 5: That's weird though, because I love them. They're former Titans. I have a Taylor of the one jersey. 00:30:45 Speaker 6: It's a little weird. 00:30:46 Speaker 4: Should wear it? You should take it and wear it. You should know you should take it and like pull it out. 00:30:50 Speaker 5: I might pull it out. I'm not gonna wear it. Yeah, but I'm looking out there. We have their banner right here. 00:30:54 Speaker 6: You have their banner right out front. 00:30:55 Speaker 5: So I'm looking forward to talking to them. Lots of stuff. We could go that direction. 00:30:58 Speaker 4: I'm gonna give will Compton hard time because he got on there and wind that we took his quarterback. And I'm gonna say, you're supposed to be Nebraska where Kentucky stop wanting. 00:31:07 Speaker 2: Did another count do what we do for Nebraska? Do they still do that or they just do their they do a national thing out of Nashville. 00:31:14 Speaker 4: Yeah, so, uh so those are some of the guests that we are we're interviewed. 00:31:18 Speaker 2: I'm excited for you to do Seawan Alexander. You know, he's one of our greatest football players ever, but we don't get a chance to really he doesn't come home much enough where people can talk to him. 00:31:25 Speaker 6: Yep, Well we're talking very cool right on the side. 00:31:28 Speaker 5: I said, hello, would you Ryan's one question? 00:31:30 Speaker 6: Right, I've never met him. Well, then why would I tell him? 00:31:33 Speaker 2: You said hello just because I was kind of admired him from Afar, But he won't know who you are, no idea. 00:31:39 Speaker 6: You want me to go? Ryan Lemon says hello, He's just gonna look at me like I'm insane. 00:31:43 Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, t tell Ryan. 00:31:44 Speaker 5: I said, hey, we'll tell Christian McCaffrey. 00:31:46 Speaker 4: You know what Shan's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna tell all these people. Ryan said, hello, Okay, tell we'll end every interview. 00:31:53 Speaker 6: Yeah. Ryan Lemon said hello, and they'll just that'd be. 00:31:55 Speaker 4: Great to get the reaction of what what they say when I look at him and say, Ryan Lemon. 00:31:59 Speaker 5: Said, Mario can do a compilation. 00:32:02 Speaker 6: Yeah, because some of them are gonna act like they know it. 00:32:04 Speaker 2: Oh my god, is that the guy that got paid. 00:32:09 Speaker 6: You know what, Ryan, I want to thank you. That's gonna be my gimmick. 00:32:12 Speaker 4: I'm gonna look at all these people and say, hey, by the way, one of your friends. Ryan Lemon said, hello, and see what their reaction is. We'll be able to tell if these people are liars or not. 00:32:21 Speaker 5: Also, let's not do this but just our guests. 00:32:23 Speaker 6: Let's do this. 00:32:23 Speaker 5: Everywhere in the building, even if they're not part of our interview schedule. 00:32:26 Speaker 4: My goal, Ryan Lemon said, hello, because some of them are gonna act like they know you'll be they'll fake it. 00:32:33 Speaker 5: You know, they got that politician thing ready to go. 00:32:35 Speaker 4: You've just given me the best gimmick for the show. You've literally you just made my super Bowl coverage. Ryan Lemon says, Hello. 00:32:43 Speaker 6: We'll call it. 00:32:43 Speaker 5: Ryan says, Hi, Mario gets all their reactions and put them together McAfee. 00:32:47 Speaker 4: Ryan Leman says, hello, Oh tell him. I said, Hey, Rich Eisen, Hey, Ryan Lemon. 00:32:54 Speaker 6: Smokers, Luda. Who's next? J Jacob? Go ahead, Acob, Good morning, y'all. How are you good? 00:33:05 Speaker 13: Congratulations on the ratings. 00:33:07 Speaker 6: Thank you. 00:33:07 Speaker 13: I have a pillow case that I've had since I was a teenager, Still have it, still use it. It's the old nineties Kentucky logo. Never gonna get rid of it. 00:33:16 Speaker 4: So anyway, is it sheets in a pillow case or just the pillow case? 00:33:21 Speaker 13: Well, I lost the sheets when I was a teenager, or my mom threw them away when I joined the army. Oh okay, but then I kept the pilic case. I used the pillow case. It went everywhere with me. Even I didn't take it to Iraq because I didn't want to lose it. 00:33:33 Speaker 6: But anyway, huh, that's interesting. 00:33:36 Speaker 13: I'm very, very excited for the Kentucky football program this year coming up. Mark Stuts brung us a long way. I'm very proud of Stuts. I'm thankful for his contribution to our team. But I'm very excited about the will Stein era, and I want your me too. 00:33:51 Speaker 4: I mean I was talking with that about with Kublick and McElroy today. I'm very excited about the will Stein era. I think he's gonna be. I think he's the perfect coach. I appreciate the call for modern era of college football, this nil roster building, high powered offense. I think he's gonna be. I'm with you. I have a lot of thanks for Mark Stoops. I think he did a really good job here for a long time. I think he was a great steward of the program. But I'm very excited about the new era. And uh, I'm really looking forward to UK football next year in a way that I probably haven't been the last few years. 00:34:25 Speaker 5: So you know now, I think keeping Stoop's name and a positive light was very intentional on UK's in I mean, will Stein mentioned him. You don't usually see the incoming coach, you don't think the one that just got canned. But I think that's been purposeful. And I've even heard a little bit that you know Stoops, Yes, Stoops offered Stein like if I could be of any help on certain things. 00:34:44 Speaker 4: Well, Soups is gonna be living here we'll see. You think they bring him to a game next year. 00:34:49 Speaker 6: Or is that too soon? 00:34:51 Speaker 2: Oh, that's that's gonna be tough. 00:34:54 Speaker 4: I think he would get I honestly think he would get a standing ovation at come at Crogerfield next year. I don't think they'll do it, but I bet he would. 00:35:03 Speaker 5: I don't know if Uko'll bring him out and like an official here he is, but it would not shock me to see him. 00:35:07 Speaker 4: Do you think he would get You think he would get a standing ovation? 00:35:10 Speaker 2: I think he would for some and there are others that were so down on him and won him gone so bad, But the way he handled his exit, I think, let's say we're. 00:35:17 Speaker 4: Five and two and playing somebody good here. You don't think he'd get a standing ovation? 00:35:27 Speaker 6: I do. 00:35:27 Speaker 5: I think. I don't think there'd be any booming. 00:35:29 Speaker 4: I don't think there be any at all. I mean, who's mad at him? 00:35:32 Speaker 6: Now? For real? 00:35:33 Speaker 5: I like if I'd say the same thing about Cal if he hadn't gone another school and been on the schedule, like if he had been around. 00:35:38 Speaker 4: But there were people who are genuine contempt but again to the point where you get what you wanted. 00:35:42 Speaker 5: At that point, you're just being a jerk. If you're booing to Boo, you already got him. He's already gone. 00:35:46 Speaker 6: I agree with that. 00:35:47 Speaker 2: He's the best coach we've do. 00:35:49 Speaker 6: You think he would get an ovation next year? 00:35:51 Speaker 7: Yeah, I think that he would, But overall I think it would be I. 00:35:55 Speaker 6: Don't think they'll do it because they're gonna want to give it time. 00:35:58 Speaker 4: But I actually think he would. Maybe maybe I was surprised about the Travis Perry thing, so uh, maybe I'm wrong, But I. 00:37:07 Speaker 5: Didn't get to comment on that. But I was surprised that he got booed every time he touched the ball. 00:37:11 Speaker 6: That was. 00:37:11 Speaker 5: I thought he'd get booed in starting lineups, but every time he did anything that surprised me too. So I think we both whipped on the expectations. 00:37:20 Speaker 4: I think a lot of it is just not foreseeing how much the younger folks would do that. But you know, I got that wrong. Normally, I feel like I kind of have a good sense of when that's gonna happen, but I did not. 00:37:32 Speaker 6: I didn't see that see that coming, so. 00:37:34 Speaker 2: You think it might be the students that maybe not greet stoops. 00:37:37 Speaker 6: Students didn't like stoops at the end. 00:37:40 Speaker 4: So I think if there was booing, they would be the they would be the leader. I think so, yeah, But I you know, maybe they would maybe, And maybe that's why you don't risk it yet. 00:37:50 Speaker 5: You know, yeah, I wouldn't do it right away. I don't think he get booed. Okay, got a question for you from earlier in the show because I I was ready to answer your question. But when you were talking about Jose Mourinho and you said you began to say, it's a coach called himself the special one, and you sny you were searching for a name, was the first name that popped your head? You thought about saying John cal Perry. Well, you realize everyone would say, yes, he would call himself that. 00:40:13 Speaker 4: I don't think John cal Perry would call himself the special one because John cal Perry had like fake humility, like he would he he he would like he believed he was the special but he wouldn't say it. I can't think of a coach in America who would say I'm the special There are many that believe it, but can you see anyone saying it? In Lane Kiffin might. 00:40:38 Speaker 7: Say Dan Hurley. 00:40:40 Speaker 4: Dan Hurley might say, now, Dan, I could that's the one. That's the one. I appreciate the call. I could see Dan Hurley saying I'm the special one. 00:40:51 Speaker 5: He's the one. I could see Doe yea if anybody would be him. Did he already have a quote similar to that last year? I think where he said something everybody rolled here he's. 00:41:00 Speaker 3: The best college coach in America. 00:41:02 Speaker 4: When he's having the best college coach in America and he said other scother people are mad about it. 00:41:06 Speaker 2: The only one I think would be possibilities I think of football coaches, not necessarily a lot of basketball coaches. 00:41:11 Speaker 4: I think Danny lane Kiffin hasn't won anything, so he can't say it. 00:41:16 Speaker 6: Danny Hurley is the one. Yeah, that's a great call. He do it. No, No, he would never say that. Draft Kings. 00:41:24 Speaker 4: You go to Draft Kings, you bet five, you get two hundred dollars in bonus fence.
