Finalizing the house? 00:01:16 Speaker 3: What do you call it? Close on it? And I met my neighbor yesterday. 00:01:20 Speaker 4: Oh how'd they go? That's important? Very important? 00:01:23 Speaker 5: Is it? 00:01:23 Speaker 6: How? 00:01:23 Speaker 5: Like? 00:01:23 Speaker 3: Quite? How important? 00:01:25 Speaker 4: When I moved into my house, I watched the show, So I guess both sides. I was great friends with. I mean, they just walk into my house. They wanted to. They both moved out about the same time. My new neighbor's no relationship at all, and it's very different. 00:01:36 Speaker 2: It seems like a nice guy got uh he's got I haven't met his wife, but met him. Got three kids. Two of them are out of the house, so one younger one who's we met yesterday. A big UK fan came out in a hat with the whole team had signed it. Uh, so that was nice, you know he see seems like he's very good, which is good because like, so that's one it's good to have a friend that he gave me the like scouting of all the people around you went house to house, you'll never see these people. These people walk a lot, but everybody tells me. The person on the other side of me, nobody knows mysterious. 00:02:14 Speaker 1: So it's usually that that house in a neighborhood, there's one house that people just don't know a whole lot about, Like they don't socialize much. Don't get it. 00:02:22 Speaker 3: I'm not going to socialize much. I hope those people know that. 00:02:25 Speaker 4: Well, it's good to just if you have a good relationship with little things like a package on your trash that you know. 00:02:32 Speaker 3: He was like, well, we'll, you know, we'll on the porch. You can come take That's very nice. 00:02:38 Speaker 1: He seemed very cool. Yeah. 00:02:40 Speaker 2: Now, Ryan and I were roaming around the house and I realized an issue. 00:02:45 Speaker 3: I don't know how to work my own house. 00:02:47 Speaker 2: Okay, is it a smart house? A lot happening all right? They gave me the remotes, a lot of remotes, a lot of remotes, and I don't know what they all do. So Ryan and I were walking around trying to figure out, oh, how do I what do I do here? Because every there's everything is electronic. 00:03:09 Speaker 1: It's kind of cool. To kind of watch you kind of just figured it out on your own, you. 00:03:11 Speaker 2: Know, Yeah, well fire is what do you what's that fireplace? 00:03:17 Speaker 3: How do you do it? 00:03:18 Speaker 1: I didn't see that button. There's a button there you gotta push. I didn't find it. 00:03:21 Speaker 4: I fixed my fireplace recently. 00:03:23 Speaker 2: I'm not gonna fix anything. I mean, I my friend Hbby's just gonna have to get phone calls. I mean, I don't know how to turn these lights off, and I need to go to a bit. 00:03:30 Speaker 1: But I didn't actually this when you walked through it yesterday, did you love it more? 00:03:33 Speaker 3: Yeah? I think so. 00:03:35 Speaker 1: It had a room I forgot, got a perfect room for a studio. 00:03:39 Speaker 3: I do. I do have a TV studio room, which I like perfect. Yeah. But then it's like it hits you how much you have to do. 00:03:48 Speaker 1: All those rooms have to be filled with I just. 00:03:50 Speaker 2: Like, for instance, turn the power on. That's a big guy. I had to go through all that stuff. 00:03:55 Speaker 1: So you got all you utilities switched over, not all. 00:03:57 Speaker 2: But most of them. And then you know, it's just you don't realize again, I don't. I guess I'm an adult now. 00:04:06 Speaker 1: Yeah, welcome, you made it. 00:04:08 Speaker 3: You made it. But I didn't run. It's just a lot of stuff. 00:04:11 Speaker 1: But you've been doing a good job. You got your your landscaping guy, your pool guy, you're working on, you know, a house cleaner, all these things you're trying to get ready. 00:04:17 Speaker 3: To be finding a house cleaner. That feels like it would be hard. 00:04:20 Speaker 4: Oh, I've got a great one. I'll send her to you, okay, because you got to You gotta trust those people. I would think. I've been at my house for six years, and stuff that I thought I was going to do the first month are still on the t. 00:04:34 Speaker 2: Like there's gonna be nothing done, like whatever, Like I it's just gonna I don't know how to do. Like for instance, I just learned yesterday that I can't have a washer that opens from the top. That's because there's a counter. There got to be a I don't own a washer. 00:04:49 Speaker 3: So we can just start anew. But they got a lot of shopping to do. 00:04:52 Speaker 1: I was proud of you picked that out yesterday. You know, I gotta have a front loader here. 00:04:56 Speaker 2: It would have been bad if I bought a if I bought a top one and then it couldn't open, you a mistake. 00:05:00 Speaker 3: I had to turn it on its side. 00:05:02 Speaker 1: We open up one door and like, oh, what's that? So a wine cooler? 00:05:07 Speaker 3: And then they left in the garage. I noticed they left all the paint. 00:05:10 Speaker 1: Yes, that's good. You want them to leave the paints. You can match it when. 00:05:13 Speaker 3: You have the pain. 00:05:15 Speaker 2: I probably won't do a lot of painting. 00:05:20 Speaker 1: Right, It really doesn't need painting at the moment. 00:05:22 Speaker 4: No, no, I don't think it needs pain just for when you punch holes on the wall and got to touch it. 00:05:25 Speaker 2: I learned something yesterday too. I didn't know. My neighbor told me you would think these would be things, you know. I hadn't really asked, like where's the property? And I didn't know that. Out on the streets, yeah, there are little things, little pins, little pins. Yeah, I've spent my whole life and never noticed those. Are they on every street? 00:05:49 Speaker 1: Pretty much? All the neighborhoods. The newer neighborhood especially have a pin out in the street. 00:05:54 Speaker 3: So like, what about what about older neighborhoods. What do they use? Do they have pins? 00:05:58 Speaker 1: Well, a lot of them unless you had it surveyed for a fence, they don't. They don't have that. They'll put it in the grass. A lot of time. 00:06:03 Speaker 3: So my neighbor was like, this is the line there. You see that? And I went, oh, don't cross it. Yeah already, and I said to him, get to the other side, get over there. And you know what's funny. 00:06:19 Speaker 2: Is like I sitting there looking at it, and I was looking at the other side of the house and there is a fence there, and like there's trees and I think he might have a tree. 00:06:29 Speaker 3: And I was like, you know what, tree starts growing on us already. I was kidding, but I could. I could see how people end up getting in those situations. 00:06:38 Speaker 4: And I'm tackling him. 00:06:39 Speaker 1: Like think, for example, if that tree was like over your fence and then dropping stuff into your pool, that would tick. 00:06:46 Speaker 2: You offing that. So yeah, so these I you know, I'm excited for your first h O A call. Yeah, I'm not gonna be where they're like, are you. 00:06:57 Speaker 3: Ever gonna cut that grass? No, I'm I'm gonna cut Yeah, I'm. 00:07:01 Speaker 2: Doing it for seventy five dollars in pull access for some of you, and I have already agreed as far as I can tell. 00:07:06 Speaker 1: You learned another thing. What about central VAC. 00:07:10 Speaker 2: I didn't even know what that was. Did you do you know about central vac if I'm plug things into the wall and it. 00:07:16 Speaker 3: Just did you know that? 00:07:17 Speaker 4: I didn't know about central vac. 00:07:18 Speaker 2: I didn't know about it. What what you told me? But I guess there are. 00:07:22 Speaker 1: A little holes in the wall all all throughout the house. You just plug your hose into these holes. Hose the vacuum hose into the hole. 00:07:35 Speaker 2: H O s e okay into holes and then and then when you plug it in, it sucks air. 00:07:42 Speaker 4: Oh, it's impressive. I don't think I have central back. 00:07:44 Speaker 1: No, you don't. He does, so I don't have any. 00:07:47 Speaker 3: Then I was like, well, where does it go? 00:07:49 Speaker 1: So we went out in the garage and we showed him. He goes in this tank right here. 00:07:52 Speaker 4: And you're that sounds like another chore. Where is that gonna go in the track? That's a hobby problem because on the hubby do list, he's just gonna have to move in for a little while. 00:08:06 Speaker 3: He may have to. I'm not moving in immediately. 00:08:08 Speaker 2: I'm gonna take a little bit of time to kind of because there's nothing in it. 00:08:11 Speaker 1: You gotta go. 00:08:12 Speaker 3: Like if I just tonight, I would just sleep with a pillow on the floor. 00:08:16 Speaker 1: That's kind of fun. A lot of homeowners do that when they buy the mouse with no furniture, they'll go have like a little camp out and there does that? A lot of people do that. 00:08:24 Speaker 4: Yeah, were you there when I hit a tennis ball in my empty house and hit the window, and I thought we broke it. I would recommend doing that. Do you live closest to I thought it was me. You're much closer to Billy, So Billy is your first call. 00:08:34 Speaker 1: That's true. Right down the road from Billy, I thought. 00:08:36 Speaker 3: I thought, so Billy is gonna be in charge of fixing everything. 00:08:40 Speaker 1: Billy can be there in like a matter of mine. 00:08:42 Speaker 2: And I think Billy's already tired of having to clean up my messes. Now he gets even more than he has to. 00:08:47 Speaker 4: I mean, he's like bicycling distance to you. 00:08:50 Speaker 3: I didn't know that I'm gonna I decide I was gonna buy a bicycle. 00:08:52 Speaker 4: It's good you got a good neighborhood for it. 00:08:54 Speaker 2: It's a good bicycle neighborhood. So anyway, thank you to the realtor here. I recommend Ryan Lemon Reel services. Don't hiring for the fashion, no for what he wears to these Yeah, don't. 00:09:06 Speaker 3: Hiring for that. 00:09:07 Speaker 1: You got all on today for the closing. 00:09:09 Speaker 3: Yeah. But but but otherwise he's great. He was very good, all right. 00:09:14 Speaker 2: One person writes on the text machine, Matt, what what difference does it make on our spending or efficiency? 00:09:20 Speaker 3: There's no cap limit. Why do we need to be efficient? Great question. 00:09:23 Speaker 2: I think that's a fair question because we don't have as much money. So the reality is that we do not have So last year, Mark Pope, let let let let's talk about how this progressed. Year one, Kentucky went and got player the port The market for the portal was not quite as wild in Pope's first year. He's able to get a bunch of people. They had money, lots of donors. Because it's a new coach. People are excited. It was easy to make it. He has success. Year two, they're like, let's go for a title. Let's go spend the money to go for a title. I think it's completely fair to say that they completely misread the market. They way overpaid some players, they didn't pay others, and they ended up with whatever the amount was. I don't think it was twenty two million, but whatever the amount was, they paid. 00:10:11 Speaker 3: A lot of money. 00:10:14 Speaker 2: They didn't have the money raise that they needed to pay, so they kind of at the last minute had to get. 00:10:20 Speaker 3: Donors to do it, and I think some donors did it. 00:10:23 Speaker 2: But with the we ain't doing this again next year, You're gonna have to plan better UK for next year. And I think UK has had for a year to try to set up so that what happened last year did not happen again. And I think they have a very competitive amount of money, but I don't think they have the unlimited checking account that they had last year. So things like efficiency now matter. So to use the example, the Dodgers in baseball can just spend whatever they want, okay, but the Yankees can spend a lot, but they now no longer will just spend whatever. They spend more than most people, but they have like an efficiency thing. I think you could make the argument that we are going to spend like the Yankees, but not like the Dodgers. Whereas I do think there are a handful of schools that are kind of Dodgery now. Saint John's I think has some Dodgers in them. Texas Tech now they haven't won like the Dodgers, but they're able to spend like that, whereas we, because of what happened last year, are kind of in the Yankees. People who know baseball better than me may know enough, Cubs maybe or like that. I don't know that will spend. But they're not just gonna like overspin. And that's really because last year it came time to write the checks and they didn't have They just had to like, please help us, and they and. 00:11:57 Speaker 3: You know, listen, people who have been successful in busy don't just want. 00:12:00 Speaker 2: To throw money away, right, So now they're like, you're going to have to show me what you're doing here. And that's why I think efficiency in those things matter. Yeah, I agree with all that. 00:12:10 Speaker 4: Oh yeah, there are a couple different parties last summer that had to step up and maybe save some butts a little bit and help get the bank account what it needed to be, and they can't expect that every year. I think part of that is why they went out and got Keegan Brown to be the dorm, not the GM. He's the dorm. And then this new blueprint can also help them be more efficient because they use it if they use it, But that was kind of why Brown is here to help all that in and find the pieces that fit Pope's puzzle. 00:12:32 Speaker 2: So you know, everything that happens is kind of builds on what happened. And I think Pope's goodwill is what allowed the insane amount of money spent last year. 00:12:44 Speaker 3: But now the. 00:12:45 Speaker 2: Struggles this year have led to you don't have that same checkbook in year three. That's just kind of reality. 00:12:53 Speaker 1: So you think the quote that Jack Gibbons made after the season got right. 00:12:57 Speaker 2: I think people have taken that quote to think we're going bargain basement thrift shopping, and I don't think that's true. But I think we've gone from a situation where if we had killed it this year, we might have become the Dodgers didn't happen, where we could just go sign show Hey, and sign Mookie Betts, and sign whatever the guy was they signed this year, just sign them all. But we didn't have that success, and so I think people are like, all right, we got to operate in the parameters of a business. 00:13:26 Speaker 3: Here. We'll still be towards the top, but we are. 00:13:31 Speaker 2: Not just going to open the check Yeah, and that's. 00:13:35 Speaker 3: Where I think we are. 00:13:36 Speaker 2: Let's go to Let's go to Matt, Go ahead, Matt. 00:13:43 Speaker 7: Hey, you guys had some really good shows while while Matt was out. I really enjoyed that. Got a question for you. Could Chandler leading actually mean that he knows that we're getting some guys and he's getting bumped down maybe six or seventh guy. 00:14:01 Speaker 2: I don't think so. I think he just got more money. 00:14:06 Speaker 3: Okay, I think a lot. 00:14:08 Speaker 2: I think I mentioned on the Interrupted podcast talking about a different issue. Aukham's razor. Oukham's razor is going to be true about most guys in the portal. Simplest explanation is usually right, somebody leaves, they got to offer more money somewhere else. That's probably generally going to be the case. 00:14:26 Speaker 8: All right, last question, everybody talks about, you know, playing for the name on the front of the jersey, would anybody do a documentary or an interview and like actually talk to former players. 00:14:43 Speaker 2: They've done that, They've done that problem is and I appreciate the call. Those guys didn't get in al. It's a different world. You know, the reason why Jack Gibbons game here really has very little to do with what's happening right now. So you know, I mean, you can do that, but still at the end of the day. A million more dollars is a million. 00:15:02 Speaker 1: More dollars, so hard to turn that down. 00:15:06 Speaker 3: Here's reality in Kentucky. 00:15:07 Speaker 2: If people can't afford childcare a place to live, they can't take jobs, stay in jobs, and businesses can't grow. So we need childcare. When parents can't find it, they're forced to cut hours or leave the workforce. Add your name to tell legislators in Frankfort fix the basics of childcare and housing. Visit opportunity starts here dot com and adds your name today. Opportunity starts here dot com today from the Kentucky Chamber in Kentucky. 00:15:33 Speaker 3: We'll take a break. This should be uh, it should be a lot of fun. One person writes Matt. One of the things I've learned from listening to this show over the years. A matter of fact, the thing I remember the most call before you dig. That's exactly that's right. They always say that call before. I've been hearing that for fifteen years. Call before you dig. I'm not gonna dig. 00:16:22 Speaker 3: You're just go there and start digging. There's not going to be any digging that Drew. 00:16:27 Speaker 1: Matt does have a big like cat NaN's broad for his tools. 00:16:31 Speaker 4: Oh nice. 00:16:31 Speaker 3: Yeah, I got a lot of tools. Yeah I did. 00:16:34 Speaker 2: I was sitting there one where am I gonna put on my wrenches and uh and now I've got the you know, the Phillips and the socket and the Phillips and the socket. Yeah, Phillips, the screwdriver. Yeah, but that got phil. I actually have a special Phillips Rich. Okay, that's nice. Maybe when you have your housewarming party, we'll bring over more tools for you. 00:16:53 Speaker 3: Get to stalk the garage. Most people to stalk the bar, We'll. 00:16:58 Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's what that's Uh, that's a really good idea. What person rides Matt, you don't have a neighbor who rides an exercise bike in their driveway? I don't, thankfully, but that could be me. You can set the tone. But sitting out there that guy. 00:17:15 Speaker 3: I don't. I don't. 00:17:15 Speaker 2: I don't have that clothing. But but you know you can borrow mine. 00:17:22 Speaker 3: Don't. 00:17:22 Speaker 2: Don't put that visual Lucas, go ahead, Lucas, ask anything Thursday. 00:17:30 Speaker 9: Hey, Matt, uh so, I have three things. I'll be quick, essential gay, you could do two, all right too? Okay, So first I wanted to thank Colin Chandler for always donating his in io to the entire homeless population. 00:17:49 Speaker 2: That's a good point, Like he didn't go for more money, he did it for the homeless in provo. 00:17:54 Speaker 3: That's a great point. 00:17:57 Speaker 9: That, oh, yeah, you're right, you're right, you're right. And then hyperthically, so if I had a buddy named Paul and he made a bet and lost, should he pay up? 00:18:08 Speaker 2: Of course, Paul should pay up. That the worst sign of character for a person is if they don't pay up on a bet. Appreciate the call. Now, there's probably been bets on this show where I'm trying to think if there's something that I haven't paid up. I remember one time when I said I would throw a party if we beat Liulan football, but it wasn't a bet because like there was no to use the phrase in law, there was no consideration, right, I wasn't getting anything with Kentucky lost and we didn't do it. And I still feel like I owe that to the two people. But now I worry it would be too big. 00:18:42 Speaker 4: You didn't put a timeline on it. 00:18:43 Speaker 2: I didn't, but maybe that'll be the goodbye party few and everyone's not coming to mind. But yes, Paul and everyone that makes a bet, Ryan, you have to pay it up. 00:18:55 Speaker 1: And like Paul probably a buddy, so that makes it even more so. 00:18:57 Speaker 2: He needs any You need the public pressure of k SR saying Paul pay the bet unless it's illegal, Paul, pay the bet. 00:19:06 Speaker 3: Mike, go ahead, Mike. 00:19:10 Speaker 6: Hey, guys, I got two things real quick if I can wat calling one on Stokes, but the Colin Channer thing, and I wanted him to stay, but you know, we talked about the Rostra all last year and you can't. You can't give him three million when you know, if people forget cam Williams took his spot early and probably would have kept his spot it wasn't for the injury. 00:19:31 Speaker 3: That's forget that. Myself included, you're right, but go ahead. 00:19:37 Speaker 6: But you can't. That's long, Chandler, you just can't. He can't be He's He's like a four starter in my opinion. But on Stokes, now here's my thing. On Stokes. I think there's no Yaxo in the portal this year, so I think he's the best player available. And not only that, he fits Pope's systems so well. 00:19:56 Speaker 5: He kind of reminds me. 00:19:57 Speaker 6: Like if I was putting the player com up, I'd say Pip and he's a point forward. He's an excellent pastor. And I don't think he'll be a problem with Pope because I think he fits Pope's system perfectly. And I think that Dontors will get excited and may spend some doctor money to bring him in. 00:20:14 Speaker 2: I think those are all really good points. Actually, I appreciate the call. I think when you're evaluating Stokes you need to remember that a lot of times the way players and the situation is off the court, people then transform it onto the court. So there's no doubt Stokes has been a lot the Stokes are uh and the people around him. But on the court, he's a very unselfish player who can pass really really well. You know, people will tell you Darren Peterson, he's a great guy off the court, but on the court kind of would play selfishly. 00:20:50 Speaker 3: Sometimes I'd rather have the opposite. 00:20:54 Speaker 2: A dude who's a little a lot to handle off the court, but on the court's everything you would want. Trying to think, who are guys at Kentucky that maybe were lying off the court, but on once the game started, you were like this dude's unslv DeMarcus. Yeah, great example of that. 00:21:11 Speaker 3: You know, there was some stuff you had to deal. 00:21:12 Speaker 2: With with the DeMarcus, but once the game started, DeMarcus was as good a teammate as you could have. 00:21:18 Speaker 4: I kind of wonder if Stokes Drew is a little bit like that. I think on the football end, like a Lynn Bowden. 00:21:23 Speaker 3: Lynn Bowden, great example. Lenon's the best example. A ton of stuff you had. 00:21:28 Speaker 2: To deal with, but not one player on that team wouldn't say he'd give anything once the game started and would do whatever. 00:21:36 Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's a great that's the best example. Thank you. 00:21:38 Speaker 4: I worked hard on that one. Stokes is a passer. I know he's completely different than Amari. But when when the Pokes first team was rolling, they had great cutters and Amari was hitting those no look passes, Stokes has a little bit of that, and then where he can make that flashy pass that I think has a lot of fans excited. Even though he's a wing, he could move over and play a little point forward too. 00:21:58 Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know that color maybe right, Maybe there's some donors who are like, he ain't doing stuff. Then they are, this is the one player in America. He's already He's our new John Wall. It's kidding, all right, Fine, I'm in that's that's that could happen. 00:22:13 Speaker 3: Zach, Go ahead, Zach. 00:22:16 Speaker 10: Yeah, uh, just to uh, just to piggyback kind of off of the portal stuff there. The way I think about it is like this, players one through five are obviously elite and on through five, and like twenty to twenty five is big, but I think the gap from like fifty to eighty is not that big. 00:22:40 Speaker 11: I think right like thirty. 00:22:42 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a great another great point. I think the gap from thirty to eighty is not that big, but you're right. 00:22:49 Speaker 3: The price point is you're exactly right in it. 00:22:53 Speaker 10: Like we were talking about, like, go matein here. I think if you just go get like the dude, whoever the dude is. This year it Stokes, last year it was Jackal, whoever the dude is, go get the dude, and then let's go get like guys like fifty through eighty, and let's fill it in and let's see what we got there, because we went with twenty to twenty five guys and thirty to thirty five guys last year, and you see what happened. 00:23:18 Speaker 2: Two great calls. I appreciate the call. That's the will Stein philosophy. Feed the studs, yep. Will Stein's like, give me five to six studs and then I'll I'll build around them. 00:23:27 Speaker 3: Maybe that's where we're gonna end up with Pope too. We'll see. We'll take a break right back. KISR. 00:23:33 Speaker 2: Yeah, we were sitting here talking about what my new restaurants are going to be because he's like the places I hate now I'm just like them. 00:23:40 Speaker 3: They're going to disappear, at. 00:23:42 Speaker 2: Least for most of the time, you know, like the what's the what's the Taco place downtown, the fancy one. I ate there quite a bit out of my lea. It's gone now, it's too far away. 00:23:56 Speaker 3: Maybe after Godfathers, Goodfellows, good Fellas. 00:24:00 Speaker 4: Sorry, I can't do that anymore. Whole new world out there in him. 00:24:03 Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know what's gonna be out there, an whole new world. Yeah, but you know, all right, grow up. When one door closes, another opens. It's like the Chipotleane, I'm not, but I'm gonna gohead. I'm going on record not going to Costco. I'm out on Costco. Yeah, out, And it's right there. But I hate it. I do not need forty eight toilet paper rolls at a time. 00:24:30 Speaker 3: It is literally the good night you like hot dogs? No, I don't like anything about it. 00:24:37 Speaker 2: I just feel like I feel like I'm pigs going to a trough getting in there. 00:24:43 Speaker 3: Are you gonna go to Cabello's a lot? That's what like? Out hunting? Yeah? Yeah, I don't have a. 00:24:50 Speaker 2: Lot of hunting supplies I need, but you know, I might go in for the ambiyonce you. 00:24:56 Speaker 1: Were you were gone. Last week there was big news about the area out there. They're gonna build the road from Sir Barton to Polo Club, and it's gonna go under I seventy five and a tunnel go under so you can avoid all the mental war traffic you go from Sir. 00:25:11 Speaker 3: Barton way, make it. Why is everyone laughing? 00:25:14 Speaker 1: That's true? 00:25:14 Speaker 3: Why is Mario laughing that? 00:25:15 Speaker 4: You said I did a very thorough lection and traffic report last week. 00:25:19 Speaker 3: We were trying to you care a lot about that, right. 00:25:22 Speaker 1: That's my mayoral campaign campaign changes. 00:25:27 Speaker 3: You did a whole segment on road change. 00:25:29 Speaker 1: Yeah, what they're getting ready to do, because what do you do. 00:25:31 Speaker 3: With this show? When I leave? 00:25:33 Speaker 1: It affects me tremendously. 00:25:34 Speaker 3: You just do things that affect it. You just do. Oh, the traffic's gonna be better on a road for me. 00:25:40 Speaker 1: They're building a tunnel under I seventy five. That's big for you and Drew. 00:25:45 Speaker 4: I know, I'm I bill an opinion, but the people listening in Somerset right now probably don't have about the tunnel. 00:25:52 Speaker 2: Speaking of Summerset, where Don Franklin tomorrow, Don Franklin, Hundai, Don Franklin Hunday tomorrow. 00:25:58 Speaker 1: There's like six Don Franklin, So come to. 00:26:00 Speaker 2: The Hyundai one will party. It'll be a Hyundai and it'll be exciting. And so we hope to see everyone tomorrow at Don Franklin. And again, you might be there when Drew gets the baby. I might be running out of there. 00:26:13 Speaker 3: That would be so exciting. 00:26:15 Speaker 4: Where did we get on the helicopter usage of the Pulaski police. 00:26:19 Speaker 2: I was told that the Plaski Police are understaffed. Figure out me and said. The Pulaski Sheriff's office told people in the rural parts Pulaski, we can't come, which I don't believe they. 00:26:29 Speaker 4: Would do that, Like ks R can't go to the doctor. 00:26:32 Speaker 2: Know that, Like if you got hurt in the rural parts Plastic County, it's I can't believe they would say that. I can't be, Like there can't be lawless zones of Pulaski County. There's a four mile stretch that the purge, whatever happens, we're out. 00:26:50 Speaker 4: I find that hard to believe. 00:26:51 Speaker 2: So yes, you you also you could bring Abby has a hospital in case something. 00:26:57 Speaker 4: We have a pretty big doctor's boytment tomorrow. She should probably in that. 00:27:01 Speaker 3: But I've heard good things about the summer soar. 00:27:03 Speaker 4: I have no doubt they're great. We just got a good system. We're already involved with over UK. Got it figured out. 00:27:07 Speaker 3: We have to adjust the systems. Billy go ahead, Billy halftime is job. 00:27:12 Speaker 5: Thanky. 00:27:13 Speaker 3: Listen. 00:27:14 Speaker 5: I've got somebody to suggests to you to look into his fam and that's tending moworre out of Western. Are you familiar with him? 00:27:23 Speaker 11: And no? 00:27:23 Speaker 5: No, Well look at your film on him and he shoots over fifty percent from the field, about forty percent from three point six foot time plays like a sixth a. He's not shy about contract me. 00:27:39 Speaker 3: Points did he score this year? 00:27:43 Speaker 5: I'm sorry? 00:27:44 Speaker 3: How many points a game? Did he score? Western? 00:27:47 Speaker 5: Eighteen points something? And he's from driven more Bridge, Kentucky. 00:27:54 Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm talking up now, driver. 00:27:55 Speaker 3: I appreciate the cut call. 00:27:56 Speaker 4: Dravich has the best talking in by the way. I don't know if he's in the portal, but if first I've heard of them. But if you're just looking at stats, he does have some impressive stats. They have the best taco bill at KFC. Can't say enough good things about the driverage taco bell. 00:28:09 Speaker 3: What makes it so good? 00:28:10 Speaker 4: Fresh? You know, sometimes different locations. 00:28:14 Speaker 2: I got smacked down from my McDonald's location So let me just say, when I drive by certain McDonald's now, seems to me it's py many people. 00:28:25 Speaker 4: Uh, while you were gone last week, I had the worst McDonald's experience. No, I'm just saying, but it fits your bill of like how they don't all line up. 00:28:34 Speaker 3: They don't all line up. 00:28:35 Speaker 2: There's a huge difference, and there's nothing there's nothing more clear than when you get a diet coke off HAIRDS. See what am I gonna do without having that hardsburg Row die? When I go to the bar ks Bar, then I still have that one. But on the other side of town. I don't know what those McDonald's are like out there. 00:28:55 Speaker 4: I've got a ranking of them. We got one that's pretty good, not too far from you. 00:28:58 Speaker 3: Okay, tell me where they is. Let's go to Justin. Go ahead, Justin. 00:29:05 Speaker 11: Yes, this is Justin from Madisonville. Well two, First of all, I had a comment and then a question. I'll let you go. I heard you talk about Taco Bell for one thing, and you know that's the last fast food restaurant I know where you can actually get a lot of food for like ten dollars, and the one in Madisonville is actually extremely well. 00:29:33 Speaker 2: Well good, We're doing Lexington Roads in Madisonville Taco Bell. 00:29:39 Speaker 11: Okay, my second, My second. The question I had for Matt is, I know you're a big Cincinnati Reds fan, and so am I. I've been following them since the days of Eric Davis when I was a kid. And so they're eight and four now they play the Marlins today, early game. Do you think this can last? 00:30:03 Speaker 3: Not yet? Know, not at all. 00:30:05 Speaker 2: That's why I'm enjoying it right now. I appreciate the call. I just want you to go. Look, I'm gonna pull up real quick. Can I read you the schedule that the Reds have in September? Okay, because it's easy for April, so you must be relatively easy for April. But let me read you their September schedule because I looked. Here are the series they play in order, Padre's Brewers, Dodgers, Brewers, Dodgers, Cubs, Braves, Blue Jays. 00:30:35 Speaker 1: They may not win a game in the whole month of September. 00:30:37 Speaker 2: That's their September, so like, so celebrate now and we and while I'm enjoying them, they have the second fewest runs scored in the league. 00:30:45 Speaker 3: Now they are eight and four, so. 00:30:49 Speaker 1: But they may have one of the easiest schedules for April. 00:30:51 Speaker 2: I heard, Yeah, it's really but everybody good is in September, so that's crazy. So no, I'm not confident yet, but you gotta enjoy it. In September. I'm on the Stein train anyway, right, you have already given up on the run. 00:31:04 Speaker 3: I will give up probably in mid May. 00:31:07 Speaker 2: So like this weekend series against the Angels, I'm excited to go because like it's in where I'm still into it. But yeah, when I saw that September schedule, I was like, I forget it. If you want a road trip to Atlanta, though, we'll go. Okay, I'm in cold plunging astronaut go ahead. 00:31:26 Speaker 12: Hey guys, thanks for taking my call. Have a cup questions, get your perspective on something. Do you think it's coach speak on behalf of Pope to say, you know, more or less We've heard this a little bit over the years, the last couple of years, you know, we want players to play for the name on the front of the jersey, when in reality, like there's a dollar cost of this. 00:31:50 Speaker 2: I think that mentality is I appreciate that Pope said it but I think that mentality is kind of So do I think a player should play for the front of the jersey, Yes, but that's not what gets them here. So I'm my view, as we get the message should be we come here because this is we're gonna make this a great place for you, and then once you're here, we'll teach you the history and to play for the front. But I don't think playing for the front gets people here, So when they say we want guys that play for the front, that's not how you get guys. 00:32:27 Speaker 3: Now once they're here. 00:32:29 Speaker 2: Though, I heard Dusty may say and I thought this was a really good perspective. After they won them the title, he said I looked at these guys in recruiting because he started five transfers, and he said, I told all of them, come here for yourself, and then when you're here, do it for us. To me, that's the mentality. Does that make sense? 00:32:52 Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, certainly. Do you think it was ever the case, particularly in the days prior to NIL that that would have been I. 00:33:00 Speaker 3: Do think that's Matt. 00:33:03 Speaker 2: The farther you go back, that probably meant more. I think once Cal got here it was about the NBA and that worked for him right for but now that mentality and I appreciate the call that Dusty may sid come here for you. 00:33:21 Speaker 3: Win for us together. 00:33:24 Speaker 2: That's gotta be the message, and clearly worked for Michigan and Ryan. I think it just seems kind of intuitively. A good message is a. 00:33:31 Speaker 1: Great message, and the secret is you got to get those guys that will buy into that. 00:33:35 Speaker 2: Yes, and there's got to be I mean, I don't one thing I wonder about the whole analytic thing. 00:33:38 Speaker 3: Is there something in there for knowing whether or not they'll do that? Yeah? Is there an analytic for that? I don't know. 00:33:46 Speaker 4: But there's so many players that came in for themselves or cow Wall and Cousins were gonna fall fall Cal wherever he went. But once they got here, they fell in love and they still love it to this day. And that goes for most of the players that come. They are a great example. 00:33:59 Speaker 2: That's I like that you said that because Wall and Cousins they would have followed Cal to play at any school in America. They did not come here for Kentucky. But now those two guys love Kentucky. 00:34:12 Speaker 3: Yep. 00:34:14 Speaker 2: That's the goal. The goal is that and that's what Pope needs to try to sell. 00:34:20 Speaker 6: Now. 00:34:20 Speaker 2: He may not be selling them to wall and cousins because they were coming for the NBA. 00:34:24 Speaker 3: Maybe these people come for the nif in I. 00:34:26 Speaker 2: L or whatever, but then once they're here, Oh way, I think Oway came and stayed because of the check. But I guarantee you Oway loved his time here. 00:34:36 Speaker 1: Yes, we're going to see him come back a lot like I too. 00:34:41 Speaker 3: So it doesn't matter so much. 00:34:43 Speaker 2: Like you know, if somebody falls in love with you, if somebody falls in love with Mario because they think he's handsome, but they'll stay because he's a good guy you because he ain't gonna be handsome forever, right, I don't know he could be. He takes care of himself, moisturizes, he does moisturize a lot, be honest. Nobody spends a lot of time thinking on the route about the roof. But you know, Drew, as a homeowner, tell me about it. Rick. 00:36:04 Speaker 2: People are telling me that during that last segment it would just go to commercial for five or ten seconds and come back. 00:36:09 Speaker 3: Are you doing something. 00:36:10 Speaker 13: Rick, I'm not doing anything. It sounds fine on my end. 00:36:14 Speaker 3: Well, they're blaming you. 00:36:18 Speaker 13: That doesn't surprise me. 00:36:20 Speaker 2: I'm not blaming you. It's the people. Do you have a message to the people. 00:36:25 Speaker 13: Uh, I'm not touching anything. Everything sounds fine on my end. 00:36:31 Speaker 2: Rick's message. I'm not touching anything. I like that message. Rick, be strong and clear. 00:36:38 Speaker 13: I don't touch anything I'm not supposed to touch. 00:36:40 Speaker 3: Okay, good Rick. 00:36:42 Speaker 2: I've gotten a lot of praise for your contributions this week. 00:36:46 Speaker 13: Really appreciate that. 00:36:47 Speaker 2: One person writes, Matt, I would like you to pick a topic, and the first person that gets to give their opinion is Rick. 00:36:54 Speaker 3: All right, well think about that, Rick. 00:36:56 Speaker 13: Yeah, that sounds interesting. 00:36:58 Speaker 2: Okay, Rick, what is your take on the fact that last week someone stole twelve tons of kit cats? 00:37:07 Speaker 13: I'd say they have a sugar problem. 00:37:11 Speaker 2: Oh you think one person stole it for their own consumption? 00:37:15 Speaker 13: Probably that's a lot. 00:37:17 Speaker 3: Of kit cats. 00:37:18 Speaker 2: Wow, I have a theory on this. By the way, everybody's heard this story about now. 00:37:23 Speaker 3: Yeah, you want to know my theory? What is it? Kit cat? Did it? 00:37:27 Speaker 9: Oh? 00:37:27 Speaker 4: Inside jump? 00:37:29 Speaker 1: We are free publicity. 00:37:30 Speaker 3: When's the last time you talked about KitKat? Yeap, when's the last time you thought about KitKat? 00:37:35 Speaker 4: Been a long time. 00:37:36 Speaker 1: When Halloween's the only time I ever see them. 00:37:40 Speaker 2: I love kit cats, especially if they're cold, but I never think to get one. 00:37:44 Speaker 3: Uh huh, what do you mean? Why do you look at me like that. 00:37:45 Speaker 1: I've never had them cold. 00:37:46 Speaker 2: That's the only way to happen, otherwise they get a mushy put them in the refrigerator. First of all, Snickers, yes, better cold. I like that kit Cat much better cold. Okay, I keep recis in my freezer. Reces. I've never had that, but cold kit Cat's a way to go. But my point is, you free, nobody goes. When you go to the gas station, you're thinking about candy. Does anybody ever get a kit Cat? 00:38:10 Speaker 3: Nope? 00:38:11 Speaker 2: I can't remember my last cake. When's the last time you stop somewhere? Randomly was like, I'm gonna get candy? How about a kit Cat? Never the eighties they did it themselves because then KitKat got oodles of free publicity. People got to tell their kit Cat stories and I got to say, oh, kit cats are good when they're cold. 00:38:30 Speaker 3: Inside job. 00:38:32 Speaker 4: I think they kept the product too, No loss there, they just put it right back in the warehouse. 00:38:35 Speaker 3: Yes, what's the damn? 00:38:36 Speaker 2: It makes sense that somehow them miraclous are who recover it. You're onto something here, Rick, Do you like my theory? 00:38:43 Speaker 13: Sounds like a good theory to me. 00:38:47 Speaker 1: Rick's on board, perfect, Brad, Go ahead. 00:38:49 Speaker 3: Brad, Hey, guys, good morning, good morning. 00:38:54 Speaker 12: So here's the theory for you. 00:38:58 Speaker 14: With this new executive orders, the potat Son, we can't keep these guys that cost too much because the new guys were recruiting. They may be able to transfer just once and they only have five years of eligibility. Are we looking at heyah? 00:39:13 Speaker 3: But remember that's not gonna hat bat. 00:39:15 Speaker 2: I think when you when you evaluate this, and I don't know your political preference, so I'm not trying to make a statement. 00:39:25 Speaker 3: You need to know that, like, that's not enforceable. 00:39:30 Speaker 2: I would say sixty percent of what Trump does, he's not allowed to do. And the court ends up striking down. And this is as much of one as ever. You have to pass a congressional law. Now, if Congress passes a law, then what you're saying is actually a good point. But as of right now, until the NCAA makes a little rule, but honestly, until Congress passes a law, all of this is just words. 00:39:55 Speaker 3: So I just want to make sure you know that, make sure you know. 00:39:58 Speaker 14: That absolutely and in reality, it's not a bad idea because it makes everybody competitive. Again, law, well to. 00:40:06 Speaker 2: You, but to you, But there's other people who completely disagree with you and say you're limiting kid's ability to work in a free market. 00:40:18 Speaker 14: Maybe, yeah, I think that but obviously it's not a free market anymore. It's who's got to be It is. 00:40:23 Speaker 2: A free market right now. Now, a free market doesn't mean it has to be fair. It just means everybody can go make what they make. There's no requirement. I mean, listen, the liberal and me wishes there were requirements of fairness in the world of business, but there's not. It's everybody gonna make as much money as you can. I don't love that, but that's kind of how America is. 00:40:47 Speaker 14: And just to follow up, that was political at all, because. 00:40:51 Speaker 3: I understand, I understand which said it's actually a fair point. 00:40:53 Speaker 2: If Congress passes that rule, what you're saying is going to be completely valid, but go ahead, but. 00:41:00 Speaker 7: For now it's not. 00:41:01 Speaker 14: And Colin hurts, Uh, simple advice on your new house. You don't have to like your neighbors, but they need to like you. 00:41:10 Speaker 6: Long interesting. 00:41:11 Speaker 3: I like that, all right. I appreciate the call. That's act actually is good advice. 00:41:15 Speaker 2: With the calls, you guys have done a really good job with calls today, really good job. 00:41:19 Speaker 3: All right. 00:41:19 Speaker 2: So DraftKings, Uh, Draft Kings sports book betting bet five dollars you bet wins, you get three dollars in bonus pets.
