Speaker 3: I'm off right. That's up, very nice and all right. So let's talk about a couple of things. First of all, ESPN ranks UK football's transfer class. Their portal class has been the sixth best in America. We've had people go, oh, just a bunch of mid major whatever. ESPN has a sixth, CBS Sports has US ninth. Now on three has US fortieth, which is very different than sixth and ninth. But the way they do it is they take points away from who left versus who you get. We obviously had a bunch of people leave. What do you make of these rankings? I'll admit I wasn't quite ready for to see that.

Speaker 5: I might have even rolled my eyes slightly when I saw it's the top ten portal class, just because we did this last season and got it very excited about it. I'm just not ready to be told how good these transfers are yet. I mean, it's better than not having one, I guess, and ESPN has to write something, but I don't know if it will sell a ton more season tickets or generate much excitement after how we went through this just a year ago.

Speaker 3: Well, they probably won't finish sixth because a lot of these bigger programs will still get their guys after the playoffs and all that. But I have to tell you, I'm at least I know exactly what you're saying, Drew, and I get it. I was like that with our freshman classes sometimes in basketball, Like it's hard to get excited about these freshman classes because we just keep having them. But it is at least nice to know that these dudes aren't chumps, right, Like, I mean, you know when you see when you're getting guys from Bowling Green to Miami and Ohio and Exico and Western Kentucky, and you're like, are these dudes any good? Having the service at least say, hey, they're talented enough to be considered top ten. I think that's positive.

Speaker 1: I'm taking it as a positive. I mean, you know, Calzada, the running back from Nebraska, and the d drusher from USC. Those are probably the three biggies. But I'm hoping this praise means these the offensive linemen that they've gotten, the defensive lineman they've gotten, the transfer portal are maybe better than we think.

Speaker 3: I mean, the offensive line will have five new guys, so you know, let's hope they're good. I mean, ultimately, that's kind of where it is, right.

Speaker 5: It really all comes down to that. I love the running back out of Nebraska. I think Kalsada, he's got some playmaking in him. There's a receiver that's gonna visit this weekend that I really like from Louisiana Tech. None of that matters if those five offensive linemen, Yeah, no, it won't match. It's just so hard to grade them. So like, yeah, I don't want to just downplay the class. They got some good additions. I really like the running back more than any of them. But that line has to pan out.

Speaker 3: One person, rights, Matt, what do you make of the fact that you said that the wide receiver coach and the team did not get along great, but two of our players went to Nebraska. Uh, I mean, I was a little bit surprised by that. I was more surprised by Dane than I was the other kid. The other kid, I think, you know, the other kid I think had some issues to where probably what got him in Nebraska is one coach took up for him, maybe when other people wouldn't. I was surprised about Dane, you know, but the white you know, Nick Rouse, I think wrote yesterday that the problem was the culture of the wide receiver room. And while I think that was maybe a little much, I don't think he's wrong that the culture of the wide receiver room was not the best. And I don't think it's a coincidence that, like almost I mean, they'd like to have had Dane back, but honestly, pretty much everybody else is gone except Macklin, and I think they were all right with it, and the coach is gone, so, you know, maybe a little maybe I think Nick exaggerated a little bit, but I don't think he's crazy about what he said. So I was a little surprised two guys went to Nebraska, but Ryan, I'm you know, I'm not surprised about Gilmour, a little surprised about key. I guess that's what I would say.

Now, part of that probably was that his uncle is John Legend, right, and so the idea of like getting his uncle to do some of the stuff he did probably required that. So, I mean it's a unique situation. But when you have a dude who's making a lot of money, maybe isn't the best teammate in the world. I mean that tends to foster resentment. Drew it probably just does you know.

I mean John Legend brought his own personal piano to play in Lexington and raise a fundraiser if he wants his nephew you getting a little extra money. I can see why they came into that, but I can also mess up a locker room and then bury on. I don't think there's plenty of secrets out about him. They're no longer secret about not being all the way there at practice. Maybe not being there at practice, but he's still getting the most targets.

He's like a Latin singer, okay, okay, very handsome, like muscular, kind of like a you know, he's a singer for women, women like you. Like he's like, looks like me. Not really, I'm I mean, take you make the opposite. And that's kind of what Romeo Santos. So he gets on stage and you know, he he's grinding. He's doing all the things that the lovers do, right, and every every uh what are you laughing at? Grinding that lovers do. Well, it's what lovers do. You wouldn't understand. So he every show drew, he picks a woman out of the audience. He says, who wants to come up and come on stage with Romeo, and he picks the woman out of the audience and then basically he sings a song to her while sort of grinding and gyrating and pulsating and all of that, and it's it's a very like it's a thing. Well, you know, when he picks the women out of the audience, they volunteer. And I don't think he checks marriage certificates or anything like that, right, He just sort of he just does his thing. He picks one. Well, apparently he picked one the other day and it broke up a marriage. He was at a concert and a woman went. Now that this story is crazy to me. A woman went to the concert with her husband. Okay, when it came time for the part where he picks the woman out of the crowd, she volunteered to go up on stage with her husband there.

The husband ends up divorcing her. Wow, all right, can I read you the statement that she made? Uh? Afterwards? Okay, she makes a statement on Instagram. I don't want know where to start, but I want to share. This is how she starts the statement after her husband has left her. I don't know where to start, but I want to share how happy I feel for having achieved my long awaited dream, one that I imagine for years, both awake and asleep, who both awake and asleep come to take awake as sharing an awake and to sleep. For me, it's not just about admiring the artists, but about valuing the great human being that he is. I have followed him and admired him for a long time. Now I must acknowledge that this achievement came at the very high cost. The breakup of my ten year marriage. Although at the time I didn't think about the consequences. I recognize that I let myself be carried away by nerves and excitement without considering how this could affect my family. I am heartbroken at the result. What did she think was gonna happen?

Go to the postgame show. Your wife will enjoy that. I would say, either come to the bar before the game or after the game. Here at KS Bar. I think that's the best Kentucky experience. You could have, but I would say try to get there the first ten or fifteen minutes before the game, especially tomorrow with it being Florida an SEC game. That to me is the best part, that ten minutes of excitement right before the game start.

You got to be thrilled with how this season has started.

You have created a very tall team and she's the shortest girl on the woman on the court, and she just completely like it feels like controls the game and it feels like she's really coming to her own in the last few games. Maybe took her a couple of games to get adjusted. Am I reading that right?

Decided to follow me here, and it doesn't matter who is on the court, how good they are, how tall they are, She's going to control the situation. And coming here to Kentucky, we knew it was gonna be an adjustment because you know, at at Virginia Tech, she was more of a facilitator and then a scorer, and we knew we needed her to be more of a dominant score for us. And then she also had to learn her teammates and she had to learn where they won the basketball, how they were going to run. And you can really see her doing that in the last few games, just understanding last night they were making eye contact with each other and she was making plays that, you know, even after seeing her for five straight years, they still amaze me.

How have you felt so far about BBN support and uh getting and being around this fan base.

Speaker 6: BBN has been everything. It's been everything is advertised and uh not not only in the in the in the venue which is Memorial, which is you know, beautiful. It's great for women's basketball games, but man, just walking around Lexington, just the knowledge.

And now they've been extremely supportive.

Speaker 3: You guys have I mean, one of the tallest teams I've ever seen. It feels like you, it feels like you tower over everybody. Is that just the sort of uniqueness of this roster or is that kind of how you try to build rosters in general?

Speaker 6: You know, last year, well the last few years, I had a six foot six All American and we really had a lot of success, you know, running the basketball through her, and uh, and if you if you're gonna be one of the elite teams, you got to have some tall players. And but the one difference this year, we're very tall. Uh, but they're all like unicorns, Matt. They're they're not the typical six foot five kid who can't move. They're all so agile. So it allows me to be versatile. We can switch. We have Clara Strack, who is going to be us a budding superstar in this league, who can switch off onto.

Speaker 6: And even though she isn't as quick as the guard, she's so long. And they all can test shots at the rim and they do a great job of doing that, and they do a great job of rev As you mentioned, we have three kids who are averaging more than nine rebounds of basketball games.

Speaker 3: Last thing, obviously, South Carolina has been a juggernaut the last couple of years. LSU's won a title. The SEC is obviously great. Those two teams have kind of stood out, but the rest of the league it's gone up and down depending on which programs are doing well. I'm not asking you to predict where you're going to finish, but as you keep going through SEC play, do you feel like you will be able to compete with all of these teams going forward?

There's so many and every night is going to be it's gonna be a challenge. So the only thing I can tell you is that we will get better every game, and we'll go out there and we'll do our best. And if we do that, then I think we can compete in this league.

Then we find out that the thing they were coming with warrant for was a stolen weed eater. Okay, that's bad, and that's bad. Secondly, we find out it's at midnight. They come looking for a stolen weed eater at midnight, not exactly a prime time to go looking for weed eaters. Then we find out the weed eater was the county judge executive's weed eater. So that makes you think, oh, maybe there was a little encouragement. But the fact I found out yesterday it goes from poor decision to horrific decision. They had already arrested the guy who had done it.
