Best of the Bus: Travis Kelce On Returning To The Chiefs + The Success Of His Podcast "New Heights"
On this episode of Best of the Bus, Travis Kelce joined The Boys on the bus during Tight End University, and it was epic.
Then the interview kicked off with Travis sharing hilarious stories about getting into acting alongside Adam Sandler and how the New Heights podcast has exploded with massive guests. The conversation shifts to leadership, the reality of NFL mortality, and what it takes to become a better teammate as your career evolves.
The boys joke about Jason Kelce being the favorite kid in the Kelce household and talk about how uncomfortable being in front of the camera can feel when you’re first starting out. From there, they debate whether the Chiefs got a little lucky during their Super Bowl run and what life after football might actually look like.
Travis also shares a classic “Welcome to the NFL” moment involving Clay Matthews and drops the bombshell that Catching Kelce might have been the worst thing he’s ever done. The conversation gets real as he opens up about the viral spotlight around his relationship with Taylor Swift and how TEU has grown into a must-attend event for tight ends across the league.
If you missed this one, make sure you give it a listen, and if you already listened, it is worth running it back with one of the biggest stars in the NFL.

We'll get to that later, but this is no. 00:00:21 Speaker 2: We want to talk about what coming. 00:00:22 Speaker 1: Up August twenty eighth, Cincinnati, Nebraska to kick off college football. 00:00:26 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly where we should start because we're sitting here obviously. Let's well get some guys in here that we want to get in. 00:01:53 Speaker 3: No, I'm assuming that's what happened. 00:01:54 Speaker 2: Okay, And you're going at him for going three and nine and then five and seven, which is you, guys, progressed by two games. 00:02:03 Speaker 3: I'm not even thinking about Nebraska progressed by I'm thinking I'm thinking. 00:02:07 Speaker 1: The winning season football game they played last year because it wasn't the bad Boy Mower's Club. 00:02:15 Speaker 2: What Nebraska's doing right now? 00:02:16 Speaker 3: What the fuck is this? 00:02:19 Speaker 1: We're having some fun? 00:02:20 Speaker 5: What is this? 00:02:21 Speaker 1: That means? Future national champions? 00:02:24 Speaker 3: What is this? What that means? 00:02:25 Speaker 1: Yeah? I think speculate. No, I think we we put it to bed on the last episode. 00:02:29 Speaker 2: Okay, that's a that's a Travis Kelcey fit right there in That is a Travis Kelsey. 00:02:34 Speaker 3: I don't know. That might be mahomes top and bottom set he got there? 00:02:38 Speaker 2: Does does Patrick ever talk about Dylan RelA? 00:02:41 Speaker 3: Yeah, Dylan's been to a few games. Yeah, he's good people people. 00:02:46 Speaker 2: But it gets a little I like Dilan Riola, it gets a little worrisome when I'm seeing side by sides of pregames and they're doing the exact same thing. 00:02:55 Speaker 3: They got the same like body type too, like they enjoy being Yeah, you can tell enjoys the. 00:03:00 Speaker 2: B three's dude, bad buddy ballers like they're doing their thing. They got that b three shot twenty four to seven. 00:03:06 Speaker 3: Are you going to be there? Yeah? All right, it's right there, right there in the backyard. Baby, It's going to be fun. Are you going to be there? 00:03:14 Speaker 1: Oh, We're going to be there, buddy. 00:03:17 Speaker 2: Structured around Nebraska, Will, Will before we even started the new heights or anything, he goes to me, He's like, Hey, I know we got the bustle ball this year, but I love to do Cincinnati, Nebraska and Arrowhead. I think that's a great one for us. And I think there's one maybe Iowa to like there was another game, and I'm thinking to myself, Will, we can't go to every Nebraska game. This is getting this is getting out of hand, out of pocket. I'm telling you this is this year feels different this year, like it's the definition of insanity with this guy. Every year, right around this time, right around tight end, you is when Will starts being like, I'm telling you we might win it all this year. Let me pull up the schedule. Then he's a loss on the schedule, That's what he says. 00:04:00 Speaker 1: I can realistically see a loss maybe too. 00:04:03 Speaker 2: Yes, September twentieth is the maybe that's maybe two. 00:04:07 Speaker 1: That's the baby. No, the I don't want to put it out there. Listen, you don't know here to play. But if I'm gonna be a little realistic, I gotta have a loss or two on the schedule. 00:04:16 Speaker 2: When you and your brother were on your podcast, New Heights talking about this game coming up, Yes, were you guys nervous about putting a bet in? 00:04:24 Speaker 3: Like you? 00:04:25 Speaker 2: How confident are you about your bear Cats. 00:04:27 Speaker 3: I've lost so many fucking bets that I think I'm gonna do for for a win. Okay, I think I'm due for a win. I wore fucking Texas texts, mascot helmet, I wore b y U's jersey last year. I think my bear Cats are gonna fucking they're gonna come through, and you guys are gonna have to fucking come on to New Heights and you're rocking a fucking Cincinnati jersey. 00:04:47 Speaker 1: If we lose all rocket Cincinnati hold. 00:04:49 Speaker 3: Get up to get where the hat? 00:04:50 Speaker 1: Where there? 00:04:52 Speaker 3: Whatever you wants helmet. 00:04:55 Speaker 1: I'll come in day of and if you had something else extra Dad, I'll wear it. 00:04:58 Speaker 2: You know it would be awesome. I'll be your He talks me around hate me like one of your French girls. Yeah, I would think Will Compton, no shirts, just speedo, A bear Cat's speedo would be a good look for the New Heights podcast. 00:05:10 Speaker 3: Oh man, right, I mean, I don't want to get myself caught up in this ship. I am trying. 00:05:18 Speaker 2: Yeah, obviously, I think I think the Bresko was gonna win that game. I think bear Cat's kidding me. I think the I think there is gonna win this game by probably multiple. 00:05:27 Speaker 3: Touch multiple touchdown. Cats are going to go rowhead. It's going to be early on. Last year we were we were on fire. 00:05:37 Speaker 1: So was the WOHLD. 00:05:39 Speaker 2: Nebraska be Colorado, We're on fire. 00:05:41 Speaker 3: We won our first five games. 00:05:42 Speaker 1: They got mopped by Colorado. First by Colorado. 00:05:47 Speaker 3: First of all, it wasn't a great showing, but Colorado, I know, dude, they got dude Travis hunter Man. Guy's really good. 00:05:59 Speaker 2: You think he's do you think he's gonna be good in the NFL. It's a hard question to ask if you're still active, But like, what's the expectation all pro both sides. 00:06:07 Speaker 3: Both sides see. That's the thing. I don't know how they're gonna it's crazy out. I don't know if because teams are gonna be going after him, right, and like they're gonna try and make his day. Yeah, they're gonna try and make his day miserable. 00:06:19 Speaker 2: Right, and he's got to go play the wide receiver and then turn turn around and basically be like high school where you just stand on the field the whole time and just wait for the game to be over. 00:06:27 Speaker 3: Dude, if he plays corner, they're gonna run deep, deep balls at him all day. They're gonna run the wide receivers just take off on him all day just to try and get his like him tired. Yeah, Like why wouldn't you just attack him that way? 00:06:41 Speaker 2: But dude, watching him, So we went to Colorado, Nebrasko, and you could just see like his aura, his attitude, like pre g everything. He's got the juice and he plays. Yeah, he loves football. 00:06:51 Speaker 3: I saw him play basketball and I was like, oh, yeah, do you think you could throw a pitch right now? Yes, later, once he hits like thirty thirty five. 00:07:02 Speaker 2: Maybe a surgery over thirty or thirty five. But I think a guy like him, like if he makes I don't think he has to make a Pro Bowl to not be a bust. I don't think he has to. He's if he's solid on both sides of the ball and plays all the snaps like I feel like that's something we've never seen before. 00:07:18 Speaker 3: Jacksonville. 00:07:21 Speaker 1: You'd think you guys were on a heater open up the year. 00:07:23 Speaker 3: Last year I was watching his playoff, thought thousand, we have smoked. 00:07:27 Speaker 1: Him thousand Miami of Ohio Hughes smoked him. 00:07:30 Speaker 3: Big rivalry game, Houston got him. 00:07:34 Speaker 1: That's about it. 00:07:35 Speaker 3: Yeah, Houston was solid last year. 00:07:38 Speaker 1: UCF We're gonna roll you guys. It's gonna be fun, though, that'll be fun. 00:07:46 Speaker 3: We got a veterans this year. We got a bunch of seniors, got some guys getting some looks. 00:07:51 Speaker 1: To their head. Coaches Scott Sadderfield, brother of brother of I think I believe brother. 00:07:58 Speaker 3: Of not good? What his brother isn't good? 00:08:03 Speaker 1: Yes, brother Nebraska, he's solid. He's a solid position coach position tight ends. 00:08:14 Speaker 3: Are you six and a half on Fandel right now? 00:08:18 Speaker 1: That's yeah, these are the game. 00:08:21 Speaker 2: You might want to take some points on that game. No, no, this has got to be monoe mono. 00:08:27 Speaker 3: No, you're going min I'm only going wins and losses. Yeah, okay, it's very make some points. 00:08:32 Speaker 2: Very bold of you, very both, veryable. Money on Fandel. 00:08:36 Speaker 3: Guys are pro You guys are pros on this ship. I mean it is it's what you guys do. 00:08:40 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what we do. It is what we do. 00:08:43 Speaker 3: You're taking since money. 00:08:45 Speaker 2: Line, No, I've already I'm taking Nebraska no matter what. With the points, the point that the ten and a. 00:08:50 Speaker 3: Half, I can't do anything nothing. 00:08:54 Speaker 2: This is my boy. I gotta ride with him no matter what, because I know in three weeks time from that moment, I'll want him to I'll want Nebraska to burnt down Nebraska Michigan Nebraska takes place. 00:09:04 Speaker 1: That's the September twentieth. 00:09:05 Speaker 2: So I'm hoping to in some work of love for Will. So when I have to break his heart on his birthday weekend, we feel a whole lot better. I'll be like, hey, remember when I supported you Kelsey Brothers, And it won't matter to. 00:09:18 Speaker 3: Him that look at that. 00:09:20 Speaker 1: That's what Arrowhead is gonna be like. 00:09:25 Speaker 2: Red. 00:09:26 Speaker 1: Yeah, they're surrounded by Nebraska fans. That's gonna be a home game. It's gonna be a home game for us. 00:09:32 Speaker 2: When's the last time we saw Travis a year ago. 00:09:35 Speaker 1: Wait, super Bowl, Super Bowl. We got in a couple of questions at the presser. 00:09:39 Speaker 3: Yeah that's right, I forget what you hit me with, ya, We'll hit you with. 00:09:44 Speaker 1: The you on you getting hawked down by a linebacker. I think, Yeah, you're yak like talking about your yack, how good you are with yak, But watching yourself get chased down. Now, you're getting a little long in the tooth. You did break the record. 00:09:59 Speaker 2: For touchdowns, I believe for the franchise. 00:10:01 Speaker 1: Maybe all in just a kind of whift on the dunk. 00:10:06 Speaker 3: I'm a little lighter this year though. Man, I'm gonna get up there. And the h is the leader for the Chiefs all time touchdowns. I got a chance to maybe catch him. 00:10:16 Speaker 1: But how far are you away? Are you away? 00:10:18 Speaker 3: I don't know. That's the last time I looked. I think it was like five to ten. Somewhere in there. There's single digits. 00:10:27 Speaker 1: Yeah, what's looking like? You know when you're left. 00:10:31 Speaker 3: From the deal, I'll tell you what. Man xavier' worthy taking his game up a notch. Obviously, get Rashid Rice back. I think he'll be speeding just the running game, get our get our offensive line together, the Josh Simmons get out of O State. I know you're not a big O State guy, but man, this dude is a fucking mammoth of a humane. He's a stud man. We will see he's stud He was doing we were we were doing a little group installed in a mini camp. Just had a little outside zone block on him. Guy put his fucking hands on me. It's ships like that, yeah, in scout team and he's just sucking around. I'm just like, all right now, all right, right now, Yeah, what this thing is talking about? 00:11:11 Speaker 2: What is that game? I lost a lot of money on you guys? No, yeah, I didn't money. 00:11:21 Speaker 3: Yeah, but you've lost a lot of. 00:11:22 Speaker 2: Money, yeah on the cheeks. What is when you're going through that game and it's just going the way I think he's like the yardage in the first half was tough, didn't get a whole lot better. Not trying to be disrespectful, but at what point were you like, hey, we're not gonna be able to pull this one out? 00:11:43 Speaker 3: You know, I don't know if that ever like came in my mind. It was just always just keep fucking fighting and see what happens. But at the same time, it got it got ugly quick and it went. Yeah, that ship went too fun. When they when they yanked their their dv's out, are there like big guys on defense? I was just like, fuck, man, I know what that sign is. And I mean at that point, it's like you're you're still trying to like you're in the mode of like fight, fight, just give give your guys and your coaches everything you've got, and it was just it just wasn't going our way. 00:12:16 Speaker 1: Man. Obviously you guys were a hell of a team, but the Eagles were just stacked. 00:12:23 Speaker 3: I mean, I'll give credit man, those from the d line to the linebackers to the you know, defensive backs. Everywhere on that football field. They had guys flying around and h then they they I don't know if they had a tick on on what was going on or if they just kind of had the rules set in place, but it felt like in the run game of pass game, and they just had stuff figured out. And even even the stuff that they you know, even when we got the right call, it was like we were just a step off or timing offer. You know, Pat was under duress and we just had to try and figure things out on the run and it was just it was an uphill battle a fucking day. 00:13:00 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:13:01 Speaker 2: Seem like your game against Tampa and game against the Eagles are really similar. Like the D line eight. It was that a big vocal point going into that week or those two weeks. Yea, guys, listen, here's the deal. They've got men on the other side of the ball we have to protect. 00:13:16 Speaker 3: I feel like at that point, because we had we had kind of went up and down with the whole tackle situation and the offensive line situation throughout the year, and it felt like at that point, when Tony moved from guard to tackle, that we had something figured out to where we could at least manage it with like chips and like make sure that we didn't put our guys in bad situations. But I mean, interior outside rush, they they got after us. And I mean, if you control the line of scrimmage and the Super Bowl, it's gonna get ugly for you. 00:13:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, and both sides of the ball, like their trenches go hard. I think the Eagles probably have the best offensive line in the. 00:13:51 Speaker 3: Entire fucking mammoths. 00:13:52 Speaker 2: Mammoths and they I mean, I thought there's gonna be a step down with your brother being missing this year, but they just kept the train rolling. 00:14:00 Speaker 3: No, they got bigger, they got bigger. 00:14:02 Speaker 2: But yeah they were they were great, and it sucks. I hate like sitting there and being like they played a great football game because I'm sitting with you when. 00:14:08 Speaker 3: You played the pot Oh no, yeah, no, I've already sucks. I've already kind of went down the rabbit hole. I'm just motivated for this year. 00:14:14 Speaker 1: Man. 00:14:14 Speaker 3: Yeah we got we got them. I think week two somewhere early and yeah, we'll get this thing. Fucking rocking and rolling. 00:14:20 Speaker 2: Boys, you definitely feel like there's more of like a you just feel more a little more intense about you sitting on this bus comp comparing it to last year. Last year, I mean, vibes were high. You're obviously gonna have a help, but has had a help of a career. But like going through that loss of what changes if you made in the offseason, I. 00:14:38 Speaker 3: Think the biggest thing is you just you kind of refocus on on where your where your attention is in the off season. I think last year, really the past like three years, I've had a lot of attention in getting taking a step away from football to figure out, you know what I'm doing afterwards and make sure I set that up and I'm setting myself up for the future. I've kind of I always had the mentality in the offseason, but I took on bigger projects this year. I kind of put all that to the side, and I'm like, man, I'm going into my last year of my contract, thirteenth year. I'm going to make this dream that I've always had the best it's ever it's ever been. And I think I failed last year in a lot of different ways from my guys on the on the field in terms of being a leader and just being you know, prepared and ready to rock. And I'm motivated to fucking be accountable for the guys. 00:15:30 Speaker 1: Man, pouring all that into this season, like setting all the other stuff aside, just focusing on football. Is there a little bit of mortality coming with this being your last year in Kansas City? Do you feel like this could be the last year for Travis Kelson? 00:15:43 Speaker 3: I mean, it's the last one on the contract. I'm I'm focused on this one. Man. I don't know what what next year is going to feel like. I don't know what I'm going to feel like in March and in April, next year when I when I make that decision or I try and figure out what's next for me. But I know that that I got one on the contract, and I got you know, a hell of a fucking team and got a lot of fucking talent, and I'm pumped for it. 00:16:07 Speaker 2: You talked about I mean, there was a bunch of rumors strolling around about this could be the last year this past year. Yeah, how close were you to hang it up? Where the Super Bowl have changed that for you? 00:16:18 Speaker 3: It might have made me think about it a little bit more. I think I had just had a sour taste in my mouth immediately, and like, man, I can't, I can't, This can't be the last game, you know. I just I still feel like I can do it. And I kind of wanted to give myself that that full focus when I when I kind of looked at the year and review and how I got ready for the year and things like that. And it's not to say that I was doing it wrong. It's just when you get older, you start to figure the figure things out differently, Like your body doesn't react to how you used to do things, You know what I mean, You have to focus a little bit more on the preparation and being there and being ready, and then throughout the week you got to have more of a plan to get back to one hundred percent. And I think thinking about all those things, it was like, I don't want to leave anything out there. I want to give it my all and make sure that I do this, you know, for the for the for the childhood dream in me, you know what I mean, the kid in me is like, Man, I want to make this shit the best thing ever. 00:17:17 Speaker 1: Man, you're obviously super close with the Chiefs organization. Is there like an open line of communication about what the future could look like for you? 00:17:24 Speaker 3: If they ever asked me, I'll always tell them you know how I feel. I'm coach Reid is like as like a second father to me, you know what I mean. I've been with him for thirteen years and he's helped me both on the field and off the field, become a better person, a better man, and more accountable. And on top of that, you know, Pat's my fucking family now, you know. So through that just family atmosphere in the Chiefs, I don't see myself playing anywhere else, but I do. 00:17:51 Speaker 1: I do. 00:17:52 Speaker 3: I trust them with everything, and you know, I understand that they got to make sure that they understand that they set themselves up for the future as well, knowing guys got to get paid and and you know, uh, positions got to get filled. 00:18:04 Speaker 1: So yeah, that is what I was going to ask, like, could you could you imagine yourself in a different uniform. 00:18:10 Speaker 3: At this point? Naw, Maybe if you would ask me that, maybe like a contract or two ago, I'd have been like, you know, I keep it open, but. 00:18:17 Speaker 2: A contract or to goes crazy statement. 00:18:20 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean what I'm saying. Yeah. And on top of that, it's like Kansas City is because the only place I got a home. It's like that is my home. So I'm like, I'm going in and out of Kansas City for the rest of my life. I'll probably always have my crip there. And I've just had that sense of community. I know, everybody from the mayor to the fucking people that work at the local restaurants to you know what I mean, everybody in the city. So it is home for me now. But I think, uh, I think I would have a tough time putting on another jersey, right, I don't know. 00:18:54 Speaker 2: Yeah, And but also, like I mean, money, it's probably not an issue for you. I think there was a rumor, Hey, we we still got to leverage up going around that leverage you. Yeah, but I think, I mean, I think there's a rumor about twenty five million. I think it was oh for a commercial. 00:19:15 Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't believe everything you read. Boys. Did you see that umber? 00:19:21 Speaker 1: I think so. I guess the question is, would you do a commercial for any brand if they offered you twenty five million dollars? 00:19:32 Speaker 3: What are we talking about? 00:19:36 Speaker 1: You? You made your acting debut last year. Obviously you're putting everything else on the side. But how how was that experience? I know suirm he said he watched it and you did an incredible job. 00:19:45 Speaker 3: Nice. I haven't heard that review. 00:19:47 Speaker 1: But do you after going through that experience of after going through that experience of acting and everything else, like, do you see it as something that you would want to pursue when you're done? 00:19:53 Speaker 2: Because I think it's like you just shot he just shot it last time he was on the show, because you were talking about. 00:19:58 Speaker 3: Still I was still actually finishing it up happy Gilmore. 00:20:00 Speaker 1: But that's more of like a fun cameo. 00:20:03 Speaker 3: That's where I see, Yeah, that's where I see myself kind of focusing. It's like those fun cameos where I'll I'll get a role that's not necessarily you know, my name in a in a movie or something like that, and I'll just kind of place like in Happy Gilmore, I'm a I'm a waiter, you know what I mean. Like, that's a fun ass fucking role in a movie with guy Adam Sandler that I've loved my attire. Like those are like I'm fucking I'm I'm I kill to do movies like that for the rest of my life. And even if it's just like a small part like I'm in, Like I'd sign up for that any day. I don't know if i'd sign up for a big TV show, like not a very familiar character is in a lot of scenes and stuff like that. That's just a lot of work, man. It's a it's a career field that I haven't gotten comfortable in yet, especially enough to do like serious stuff. 00:20:53 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:20:54 Speaker 3: I think I can do like the joking stuff that you know we all grew up watching. 00:20:57 Speaker 2: Much more in your wheelhouse. 00:20:58 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:20:59 Speaker 2: And if you see Adam's Adler and you snow all the movies. 00:21:01 Speaker 3: Yeah, the opportunity to and then he tells you you're doing great, and it's just so yeah, what was that? It was insane? 00:21:07 Speaker 1: I bet that I'm saying, like one of those cats where people say, never meet your heroes, is this somebody? 00:21:13 Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, you met him? And he was the fucking best meet He was even for even further than what you could have ever expected. So much he was and he was so helpful in terms of like kind of making me feel comfortable in the in like the scene and everything, knowing it's it's like one of the bigger scenes in the beginning of the movie. At least I made it feel like like, dude, this is a serious. 00:21:38 Speaker 1: Pepper down. 00:21:41 Speaker 3: It's one of the biggest scenes in the movie. 00:21:42 Speaker 1: It's up front you. 00:21:43 Speaker 2: Guys, Yeah, that is that's crazy. How did you say, just call your agents, just call you, like, hey, Adam Sandler movie. 00:21:51 Speaker 3: Yeah, I forget. I forget what the connection was. Once I kind of like threw it out there that I would I would like kill to be in a Sandlor movie or anything like that, and like I had a happy Gilmore had on on New Heights one time and they were like, oh man, there's rumors that happy Gidmore too might be coming out of you going to be in it, and I'm just like, I fucking I quit everything right now to be in a fucking Adam sandem. Yeah, or being Happy Good Moore two. But I was talking to Saying Man, and he was just he was like, it took so long to get to Happy Good Moore twos because he wanted to do it right. He didn't want to just he said he loved doing the movie so much and he thought the first one was just such a perfect movie that it had to he didn't want to disappoint anybody. And this one, I mean, just looking at the trailers, I haven't even seen all of it, but just watching the trailers and ship, this ship is going to be epic. 00:22:41 Speaker 2: I can't wait to see it. 00:22:42 Speaker 1: Dude. 00:22:42 Speaker 2: He's literally a part of all of our childhood. 00:22:44 Speaker 1: Yeah, Ard, you refer to him as Saying, is that like his is that his nickname? 00:22:50 Speaker 3: I've always called him the saying this se man when you meet him, mister Sandlor, just please Sandman. I think I did call him mister Sandler at one point. Have to know he got start off with that for sure. Yeah, I think the Sandman's where I ended up that you feel like that's the goal, right, Yeah? 00:23:07 Speaker 2: Meet one of your is like, how do I get a nickname in here? 00:23:09 Speaker 1: Is that? What name is in your in your phone? Sandman? 00:23:13 Speaker 3: I think it is. Yeah, yeah it has to be. 00:23:16 Speaker 2: That's my Bady's just going on. 00:23:17 Speaker 1: That's a white whale there for the bus. 00:23:19 Speaker 2: Oh yeah, absolutely well if we have any connects, yeah, it would be sick if so. 00:23:24 Speaker 1: If we knew if we had a homie that was somebody that was tight with him, they called him and be like. 00:23:28 Speaker 2: Yo, could you just get him on the show. 00:23:30 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:23:30 Speaker 2: I got a couple of the homies with me. They are they are sports guys, you know, don't. 00:23:33 Speaker 3: I don't text. I would never get out to this man. 00:23:40 Speaker 2: If you don't mind hold on. It'd be sick. 00:23:42 Speaker 3: He's so busy. 00:23:45 Speaker 2: It'd be since. Would be cooler is if one of our boys we had like a bet with them, and we added to the bet, if you win the bet that they have to FaceTime Sandman something yeah, and then have him come on or try to at least get him on the bus. 00:23:59 Speaker 1: I love that. You like that. I love that all I thought we'll bring into the negotiation table. 00:24:03 Speaker 3: Gotcha, you guys are fucking good. 00:24:08 Speaker 1: You guys have been having some fucking awesome guests, though insane between Jason Sedakis, Ben Stiller, Lebron Crazy, who's been your favorite one out of like the recent I know that's tough. 00:24:22 Speaker 3: I'm kind of I mean, I'm a Cleveland kid. Watched Lebron playing fucking high school. Getting him on the show was like that Cleveland like connection, Northeast Ohio connection, I should say. And it's just like I've known all of the people that are like in his camp for a long long time, so I felt like I knew who he was, and when he jumped on, it was just like we were all just like homies for forever that I'd been a CAZ fan since I was like fucking too. 00:24:50 Speaker 1: So wild comment about the rings, Huh, winning ring shouldn't define your NBA career. 00:24:58 Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it might be taking out of context. Also, Lebron has won a lot of rings, so I think he's just trying to look out for He's trying to look out for the guys that he might have played with that you know, didn't win one, trying to show him some respect, take the high road, being a good dude. Big, good teammate, but it's all about rings for me. 00:25:20 Speaker 2: Was a vibe like we just sitting with the New Heights team, like, how long in advance did you think Lebron James might be coming on our show? 00:25:27 Speaker 3: I mean we threw it out there like our first season, so it took like three seasons to finally get him to pull up. 00:25:35 Speaker 2: It seems like he's just now started to do media because he's a McAfee. 00:25:37 Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, he's got his magafee. 00:25:39 Speaker 2: Now he's done you. I think he's gonna come on busting that's TVD. That's TVD. 00:25:44 Speaker 1: Right. If only we knew somebody then in a connection, you. 00:25:46 Speaker 2: Do be sick because if you had a bet with somebody, Yeah, that'd be sick. 00:25:52 Speaker 1: They could just be our guest booking team from here on. 00:25:54 Speaker 2: It for real New Heights. We'll just hey, sloppy seconds awesome, this way awesome, this one. Figure out what worked what didn't. 00:26:01 Speaker 1: Who's who's a white whale that you would love to get on that hasn't been on yet? Obviously you've had a lot of big names, but who's somebody that you're like selfishly like, Man, it would be sick to get this. 00:26:10 Speaker 3: Personal, man, I want to get Dion Sanders on so bad. I want to talk to him about like the football and baseball like world that he was in in like the late eighties, early nineties and just I don't know, just just chop it up, because he was always one of my favorite guys. I played like every sport imaginable growing up, and I always wanted to be one of those guys that played both. Played to two sport, professional athlete, no fucking chance, no shot, no shot. He was the elite. Yeah. The story about him playing in both, it had like helicopters. 00:26:50 Speaker 1: Yeah, the same day and then flew into a. 00:26:53 Speaker 3: Baseball playoff game or something like that. It was crazy nuts. 00:26:56 Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he had a touchdown one and a homer on the other hitting another ever said that like. 00:27:00 Speaker 1: That, Yeah that I think. I personally think he's like the most athletic player of all time. 00:27:06 Speaker 3: I think so. 00:27:07 Speaker 1: Yeah. Over Bo Jackson, that's all that's usually the argument. 00:27:11 Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Bo Jackson was a freak. But yeah, yeah, series Super Bowl as deal Sanders, what's up? 00:27:23 Speaker 1: I saw it was a little biased with Dean because he was a cowboy. I love the Cowboys growing up. 00:27:27 Speaker 3: You're your little giants guy. 00:27:29 Speaker 1: Huh yes, Spike, oh yeah, tried to be like like Spike chin ups on my dad's arm before every your white Whale. 00:27:41 Speaker 2: I feel like your white will is a little underwhelming, like should be an easy. 00:27:44 Speaker 1: Get for you. 00:27:47 Speaker 3: It probably is like more attainable than I think it is. But I don't know, man, who else would be? What would be through the roof? 00:27:58 Speaker 1: You know who Jason would want? 00:28:01 Speaker 3: No idea Jason would want, like fucking Neil de Grassi, Tyson or something. You get the old lineman. 00:28:09 Speaker 2: My YouTube allan whatever, my shorts are always, he's always He's always explained some to me. I'm like, that shit's fucking wild. In the clip of him talking about the Titanic, he talks about the when the ship sinks in the Titanic, how it's just one set of stars and then just basically copied and flipped it and it wasn't correct for that time of year. That like, how he like gets all that figured out. It's wild, And so he was a part of another movie that helped him get the correct sky for that timeframe. That everything, It's like, how do you figure that shit out? 00:28:40 Speaker 1: That's nuts? 00:28:41 Speaker 3: And also did they contract you in to do this or are you just doing it for the fun of doing a quick favor. But I just need to make sure this is right, right, do be a. 00:28:49 Speaker 1: Favorite with it? 00:28:50 Speaker 2: That's good, that's good. Yeah, he'd be a he'd be a cool guest. Just smarter than everybody else, dude, Yeah, he gets it. 00:28:57 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:28:59 Speaker 2: With your about earlier about from a leadership standpoint, maybe not being as accountable as you want to your teammates. At what point in the season or after the season did you realize did you realize that you probably weren't being the best leader. 00:29:12 Speaker 3: You could be. I mean, just reflecting, I don't think I was the best leader during the Super Bowl itself in terms of making plays, being able to you know, find a way no matter what their what defense they're playing. I've always put the accountability on myself to you know, get open no matter what. And don't get me wrong, there were they were doing things that that minimize everything that I could like kind of manipulate. But at the same time, I still feel like I had a drop early. I had two or three routes where I didn't get separation when I needed to, and certain certain moments where I could have sped it up knowing that Pat was under dress for at a lot of parts a lot of points in the game. So I don't know, man, just just being that and then just keeping the the energy and the belief alive. I don't know if I necessarily did that as well as I could have. And I think just leading up to it, making sure I got everybody's you know, mentality ready going into the game. I just put a lot of accountability on myself to be able to, you know, be that for the guys. 00:30:14 Speaker 2: How difficult is it for you to not like show frustration when you have a drop early? They're doing different things and coverages, so you can't manipulate them as much like when you're progressing through the game. You've been in it for so long. I think I played in a super Bowl. But when it's like it's for all the marbles, how do you from a mental standpoint able to like combat the okay, how to drop these things are not going the right way? Like, how do you take away the frustration? 00:30:38 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you're not projected. You got to have that, Like, I don't know, almost like that you either got to react in terms of like high aggression high energy, high frustration, or which can make you uncharacteristic, can make you maybe I don't know, do something stupid after a whistle something like that. That's what I've done in the past. Or you can try and be calm, cool, collected, show confidence, show leadership, show like positive, like reinforcement, like around everybody, around everyone on the team. And it's just every situation is different. As I'm getting older, I can't necessarily do a lot of the things that I've been able to do when I was a younger player. So it's it's creating even more frustration for me in certain times. But at the same time, I could still be that voice or reason for a lot of these young guys that are in an unfamiliar territory. 00:31:33 Speaker 2: Is it a scary thought a little bit when you're getting older and some of the things you look back at some filming, you're like, man, I used to be able to do that. 00:31:39 Speaker 3: But I used to be able to fucking throw a goddamn baseball. Yeah, yeah, I used to be able to fucking helmet like ninety dude. I used to really and I used to really have a fucking cannon over here. Now I can't even fucking raise my fucking arm over my head like that. 00:31:53 Speaker 2: It's that hard bringing that thing up. 00:31:56 Speaker 3: I can throw it up, but deal. 00:31:58 Speaker 2: With the mortality of being a football player sucks. And you see all these young bucks get in there and they're like going out partying or whatever, and you're like spending a little more time in the ice tub. 00:32:07 Speaker 3: I don't see a lot of guys going out and partying anymore. It's a good point at your house. A lot of the younger guys, I think, I feel like I would hear it through, like the locker room and stuff like that. A lot of guys are just like video game and streams. 00:32:24 Speaker 1: Video games are fun. 00:32:25 Speaker 3: You play an I'll get on the call of duty every now and then suck it up. 00:32:29 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm a pub g guy myself. 00:32:31 Speaker 3: PUBG. 00:32:32 Speaker 1: The pub is kind of like the military version of where it's like a battle royale. 00:32:39 Speaker 3: Oh god, my jeans were too tight. Oh ship, I mean. 00:32:47 Speaker 1: He was. He was doing the same thing, thrown as hard as he can. 00:32:50 Speaker 3: Dude, dude, please, I'm sorry. I know that was that came in hot. 00:32:55 Speaker 2: Shoulder looks good right there though. 00:32:57 Speaker 3: Oh but I think it was the I think it was the top of the mound coming down. I hadn't worked that yet. 00:33:03 Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the high I get it. Yeah, the elevation of the mound. 00:33:07 Speaker 3: When you're foot Yeah, it's harder. 00:33:11 Speaker 1: Yeah, well I would know. I am over six foot. It's it's kind. 00:33:15 Speaker 2: Of degeneration going on right now. He's actually getting shorter as we sit here. 00:33:19 Speaker 1: I am I the best athlete on the bus around. 00:33:26 Speaker 2: Maybe some people are so mitches in the back way. 00:33:28 Speaker 1: You guys can talk about your injuries. I did have twelve anchors put on my right shoulders. Twelve anchors had that twice? You had that twice? 00:33:36 Speaker 3: Oh you guys still have shoulders? Wait what? And I had a separation. That's only that. That's only getting. 00:33:46 Speaker 1: Always got the light of cane needle with the little pad on top before a game. That's rookie to tell you, oh, you're not going to the first take. You're just like this ships who don't what what the anchorst? Yeah? Stitches yeah, like a little yeah, like a little stitch. You think of your shoulder, your labor them is like a clock. And you have nice how many anchors you can get in nice guys like us? We have all twelve anchors. 00:34:11 Speaker 3: This guy pays attention fool. 00:34:14 Speaker 1: Restructure because when you hear twelve, you're thinking I'm kind of badass. 00:34:17 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:34:18 Speaker 1: I was kind of playing on some ship. I thought I was just going to be cleaned up, maybe three or four anchors. I get out there, like we had to fix the whole thing. 00:34:24 Speaker 2: The whole thing. 00:34:25 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:34:25 Speaker 2: I always hate the surgery talk with it, like, hey, we'll see when we get in there. But it looks like it's just X, Y and Z. Yeah, every time you come out, it turns out turns it was actually all of these things as well. 00:34:35 Speaker 3: What happened with my knee? 00:34:36 Speaker 1: Your knee? 00:34:37 Speaker 3: Yeah, my rookie year. I had, uh, just like some discomfort. I kept doing the fucking MRIs. I took like ten MRIs. Everybody in the building was calling the Memri machine the Kelsey, like, oh, you're going to get a Kelsey. All right, nice, that's tough. Eye discomfort. It's something's up. So I went to I went to the guys. I'm just like just going there scope it. You're like, all right, we'll see what happens to going there. I had like microfactor surgery. You guys know what microfracture is. It's uh it's ended some careers. They drill holes in your uh like cartilage, bones to like get blood to see through, to create and rebuild cartilage. Couldn't run for like six seven months, and then it was on like a pitch count for half the season. 00:35:25 Speaker 2: Oh and this this is your rookie year. Yeah, going into your. 00:35:28 Speaker 3: Second, going into my sec I didn't play. I played one snap my rookie year, and it was a blocked field goal. I was on the field goal team and I only went in because somebody got hurt and I just happen to be dressing that day too. I went in, and I went in. I went in there supposed to be the left tight end on fucking field goal, and I'm like, my knee. I tapped the right tight end because we were on the right hash so the rush was definitely coming from the field. So I'm like, hey, you're trying to take that left side for me my knee and he just being a good team and it's like, yeah, dude, I got you. I went over to the right side. I heard that. I'm just like fuck. He turned around, balls on the ground. I'm like, fuck, get it. Hobbling around. I see guys jumping on him kind of like fun my knee. 00:36:17 Speaker 1: You never was like we wasted. 00:36:19 Speaker 3: So yeah, the next two weeks, two weeks out of that, I got it. I got scoped and got through in a brace for six months. 00:36:27 Speaker 2: So you go through your rookie year, play one snap, second year, you're on a pitch count. Are you thinking at any point maybe I'm just not built this? 00:36:33 Speaker 3: You kidding me? The entire rehab, I'm just like, God, damn it, I'm never going to see this happening. 00:36:38 Speaker 2: Calling your brother being like how the fuck? 00:36:40 Speaker 3: Yeah, he's just he's like, you got to run through it exactly. 00:36:44 Speaker 1: It's going to be so disappointed. 00:36:45 Speaker 3: Yeah, just take that table the fucking Ivy Profen they're giving you and just get back out there. 00:36:49 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:36:49 Speaker 2: I wish it was just Ivy Profen. 00:36:51 Speaker 1: Sure we get it, dude, you got the photo pulled up. 00:36:56 Speaker 3: Jesus, she said that was your X ray. 00:36:59 Speaker 2: Right, He's like keep zooming in on like as you guys are talking, Jesus, seems like always playing a bit while we're also doing a show. 00:37:06 Speaker 3: Does that you? 00:37:12 Speaker 2: Congrats? 00:37:13 Speaker 3: It's a big time. 00:37:16 Speaker 1: Growing up? Was there? Who who is the favorite? Was Jason the favorite? 00:37:20 Speaker 3: Growing up? Her student fucking did football. Hockey was like all league and in like three different sports, never missed a game. Like music genius was. It was on like the orchestra, the jazz, the fucking he fucking did every Yeah, dude, he used to get like thirty tackles a game and at halftime fucking being the marching band he was. But he was like the most feared guy in in the school. 00:37:46 Speaker 2: No ship played that trumpet like you did you? 00:37:49 Speaker 3: Marion? Did you had the trumpet? And it was did you ever? 00:37:57 Speaker 1: Did you ever? 00:37:57 Speaker 3: Zimtment towards him. 00:38:00 Speaker 1: There was never like, oh, he's the fucking favorite. You know, he's kind of doing my thing to the best, you know what I mean. And then he kind of comes back around after he's winning super Bowls and was like, yeah, I'm pretty fucking good too, guys. 00:38:09 Speaker 3: No, no, I followed him. I followed him the Cincinnati Okay, so. 00:38:14 Speaker 2: You guys are like that. You guys never had a little tiff. 00:38:16 Speaker 3: What my brother used to be. 00:38:19 Speaker 1: Have you seen how is he. 00:38:21 Speaker 2: Gotten used to the retired life. Has he had a good transition. 00:38:26 Speaker 3: He's thriving. 00:38:27 Speaker 2: He is crushing life, no doubt, But I'm wanting an inside ball like if he's had like, hey, stay as long as you can't Adam Sandler, right, Billy Madison's the kids as long as we can type of talk with you, or he's like, hey, by the way, on the other side of this, it's incredible. 00:38:41 Speaker 3: No, he we haven't really talked about it like that now. I don't know. I think he's he's thriving in the decision that he made. Obviously there was probably something that we haven't talked about. It's probably something there that the Eagles went back to the Super Bowl and they want it. Yeah, there's there's got to be an Any ballplayer that made that decision would have that. I feel like, But at the same time, he's around his four girls, enjoying life and being around the fan and doing a bunch of crazy shit during the football season, and I don't know, he's just enjoying it. I don't see it. I don't see him like regretting any decisions, even. 00:39:22 Speaker 2: Because once you walk away, man, it's tough. Like you see a lot of guys that leave and you're like that have an identity crisis for the longest time because you used to be the man, and then a lot of guys just go back to doing nothing. 00:39:33 Speaker 3: I mean, we've all seen a lot of college guys that we played with go down that road. A lot of guys that we played with in the league do that. And that's why I kind of always wanted to make sure I set myself up for something, you know, to at least immediately get into and then always have that connection back to the game. Some I don't know, some guys just kind of step away and they never come back around the buildings or they never you know, create those those relationships with people that you know will keep will help keep them around the gamer, around everything like that. 00:40:06 Speaker 2: When you're trying, when you're trying to all those new things, fearing okay, what could I do next? What was the biggest thing that got you into your comfort zone? 00:40:12 Speaker 1: Whether it be like SNL the. 00:40:14 Speaker 3: Acting, the serious acting, the serious acting. 00:40:16 Speaker 2: Yeah, what level of discomfort was that? Like, were you like halfway through and being like, I know this is not for me. 00:40:22 Speaker 3: No, not necessarily it wasn't for me. I mean I was I was a part of a really good cast. I think I got a lot of help and a lot of pointers from them, So they helped me make at least make me feel comfortable in the moment, but at the same time, just like preparation wise, like I'm so prepared for an NFL game, Like in my career, I get entire week to figure out a scheme, how I'm going to attack somebody, how I'm going to like handle certain specific situations, and when you go into acting, it's just I just didn't feel that as prepared, and I just feel like I got to find that, Like I don't know that professionalism before the the like the cameras are on, and I just hadn't found that yet. 00:41:06 Speaker 2: You're just hanging on the trailer. 00:41:07 Speaker 3: I'm just like going over the lines. 00:41:09 Speaker 2: As long as I know these how many times am I. 00:41:11 Speaker 3: Going to read this same line and think that, you know what I mean? I got I gotta find Then you. 00:41:14 Speaker 2: Finally do one that's good and then directors like, hey, let's get one just to be safe, and you're like, god, damn it. 00:41:18 Speaker 1: Did he not like it? 00:41:19 Speaker 2: Just tell me if you don't like it, just give. 00:41:21 Speaker 3: Me a Just that was my entire every single like director that I met on on on the what do you call on scenes and everything like that, I was just telling I was like coach me up. I'm here to be coached. If I sucked, tell me I suck, and tell me how I can be better. I'm gonna take all criticism. I don't give a fuck. 00:41:39 Speaker 1: Are you practicing your lines by yourself in front of a mirror. 00:41:43 Speaker 3: Not necessarily in front of a mirror, which I'm gonna add to the professionalism. Get to see facial features, You see how your body's reacting. I was big on like a scene would happen, and if the directors were like watching the scene over to see if they like it or not, or see what we could do different, I would like hurry up and go over there to watch him film real quick. But I don't know. It's it's still like I don't know, it's still early and like just not I don't know. I don't feel like I grasped the acting world yet. 00:42:19 Speaker 1: Yeah, seeing him videotapeing himself just by himself, and I'm sure like the features and like, okay, I can kind of move a little differently here. 00:42:26 Speaker 3: You definitely feel like doing some of this for sure, like you feel out of place. 00:42:30 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure some of the actors are sitting there being like we've worked our whole lives, gone to theater school, done all this, and this guy scores a couple of touchdowns just to show up and be a part of it. 00:42:39 Speaker 3: I felt those eyes. You felt you have to tell the people. 00:42:42 Speaker 2: That are all about the art, like this guy he doesn't respect it like he does He's going to this is a game to him. This is life to us. They do slam poetry on the weekends. That you Is that it right there? 00:42:55 Speaker 3: Yeah? That's you? 00:42:57 Speaker 1: Did you grow that. 00:42:59 Speaker 3: That real hair? 00:43:00 Speaker 1: No? Yeah, that is awesome. 00:43:03 Speaker 2: That is fucking badass? What about SNL? How nerve wrecking? 00:43:08 Speaker 3: Was that? 00:43:09 Speaker 2: The monolog standing up there a little? 00:43:11 Speaker 3: Like I said, the silly stuff, the funny stuff, the comedy. I just feel so much more comfortable. There was still like a sense of like I need to be a professional here. I don't want to, like I want to take advantage of this, but like I don't want to. I want to have fun doing it, but I don't want to look like a loser doing this, Like I want to make them respect like my approach and how I'm like taking it serious and uh, but it was just a fun roller coaster. Man, You're there all week fucking up till two three in the morning every day, just trying to like knock stuff out, do some of the pre recorded stuff. And yeah, that was insane. That was a crazy ride. 00:43:53 Speaker 2: It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The SNL thing is one of the more badass situations. 00:43:58 Speaker 3: Have you you've been to SNA. 00:44:00 Speaker 2: I have not been. I have not hosted. Same It was kind of a fuck situation. And I felt like I was just like trying to like get through the reading instead of acting actually like acting it out and giving it a voice and giving it a character and things like that. Like, I was just focused on just don't fucking skip this line. Yeah, you know what I. 00:45:00 Speaker 2: Mean, brother, When it comes difficulties, I will be on that side of the aisle with you, my entire life. 00:45:06 Speaker 3: More of a audible, more of an audio guy. 00:45:08 Speaker 2: Right, That's why they make audio books now for guys like us. You read it, I'm listening. I'm listening quite a bit. 00:45:14 Speaker 3: Actually, uh no, the table read was the hardest part. 00:45:18 Speaker 1: Did we need you know what? Everyone was like, don't do it, and he just betted himself and it became like a massive hit. The way it is, allegedly, it's just like skimming through like YouTube shorts. Right, So I'm not I don't have anything to verify this, but the fact that he was at the ascension, he was making what he was making, and he took a risk like that. If that is true, it's wild. 00:45:57 Speaker 1: Yeah. Now he's in fucking Maden is crazy. Yeah, crazy. 00:46:02 Speaker 2: Vince Vaughan, He's going to be in the new mad movie, the new John Madden movie. 00:46:05 Speaker 3: Oh, I would tell you, can we say that? 00:46:07 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's okay, cool, cool, just making sure. 00:46:11 Speaker 1: The video game. 00:46:12 Speaker 3: That's why I was like, I was like. 00:46:13 Speaker 2: I could definitely see Shane know the football game would be like a center for a Notre Dame with Christian Bale Nicholas Cage, like a big time, big time movie. 00:46:24 Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Nicholas Cage addressed as John Madden right now. Yes, fucking hilarious. Wow, he's brocking some of those pants you used to your game day pants. I mean, I mean, you guys had so many games where you're winning so many different ways. 00:47:49 Speaker 3: You know, that was that was the craziest one, the Denver block field goal crazy in Arrowhead. But then you think about it, you watch it on film them you see what they've been doing on film on that side of the line. 00:48:04 Speaker 2: It's like it's kind of not sitting in a field goal meeting. No, But I know why you're sitting in a field goal made. 00:48:10 Speaker 3: So I'm listening. I'm listening to the next day. 00:48:13 Speaker 2: You'd be like, see, guys, is what we talked about all the week. And I was like, oh, I guess I did talk about that. 00:48:19 Speaker 3: Why we finished the game? 00:48:20 Speaker 2: The game ship, I guess this is why we do do it. That's crazy. 00:48:23 Speaker 3: Knee my knee. Guy that voluntarily went to the other side. It's like, I know there's rush is coming this way, but. 00:48:33 Speaker 2: You get to take this one. I have no ce NBC has got it. God. 00:53:55 Speaker 6: Oh one of our newer Busting members, Clay Matthews. I only overheard the story, but but can we get that when you're when you first played against him. 00:54:02 Speaker 3: When he fucking made me feel like I was gonna get my ass fucking killed. Yeah, I mean it was it was that two thousand is that first year playing, So it was. It wasn't thirteen. It was fourteen, but it was like my first couple of games playing, and I had like maybe ten catches up to this point in my career. And I'm going into Lambeau and I'm thinking, this is Lamba, this is my moment. This is where I'm gonna fucking I'm getting people are gonna know me after this. Yeah, and I'm all hyped up and fired up to play because I think it was fourteen. I might have been fifteen either way. I Uh, I see claim Matthew. I'm just like, oh shit, this fucking claim Matthews. His arms are way bigger in person than they are on TV, and they are fucking enormous on TV. And uh and it's like the backside of a fucking outside zone and I'm chasing him down. I kind of give him a hit and I'm like, yeah, motherfucker, and he stops, squares up to me. He says, don't fuck it ever fucking talk to me. I'll fucking kill you, or something something along the lines blah blah blah blah, I'll fucking kill you. And I was just like, i couldn't even say anything after that. I'm just like, dude, they're just playing ball. 00:55:12 Speaker 2: Yeah, a that is wild. I'll kill you comment. It's thrown around a lot in those sixty minutes. Yeah, it's a lot. 00:55:26 Speaker 3: Have you ever had any other moments like that with a different player James Harrison's I think it was the same year, same year, and he had the he had the visor on, and it was it was like the backside of a run. Jamal Charles as fast as fuck. He's already out the gate and I'm just kind of like holding him. I'm like, yeah, he can't get off the block, and he just stares at me, doesn't say anything. I kind of like go like this to see if he's really staring at me, and his fucking eyes follow or his head follows a little bit, and I'm just like, what. 00:55:54 Speaker 2: My bad. 00:55:55 Speaker 3: Like three plays later, I'm on the line of screw is like looking into the ball. He's outside backer kind of fucking around with like number two three point one set, and he just times it up and smokes me on the like times up the snap and every that comes off the ball. Wow, just absolutely blindsided. I'm like getting up with like my my fucking head still trying to figure out what the fuck just happened. Plays I absolutely fucked the entire play. Alex Smith sees the snap, sees what's happened, He's like, fuck, I gotta get out of the pocket. Yeah, and he just starts running around and to drive, and I'm just and I'm just kind of looking around. I look over at him. He's just staring at me with the fucking visor on. Again. I'm just like not saying a thing, and I'm just like this, God, he's fucking killed somebody for sure. 00:56:38 Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, I played him my rookie year on Monday Night football. First play the game with your pick six. But before the game started, all the office on like, hey, we now you like to chatter a little bit, don't talk to this guy, don't say a word to him, just leave him alone. Hopefully he like stays asleep during the game. It's like Monday night football. I'm hyped up, I'm juiced up. I'm ready to make a name for myself. 00:56:57 Speaker 3: So he plays in the game. 00:57:00 Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm fucking I'm here all day type whatever, whatever dumb ass comment I'm made. 00:57:04 Speaker 3: We're all fucking day. 00:57:05 Speaker 2: And he doesn't say a word to me. And then like he kind of lines up in a four and I go, I'm like, I'm a gonna cut off this dude so fast. And I go to cut him off and I gotta cut no. I go to put an arm up to get a linebacker in the sea block. He drops down to the ground and just grabs my ankle and starts gator rolling. Yes, starts gator rolling me. And right then and there, I thought, Okay, yeah, it's a it might be over for me, It might be able for this conversation the rest of the game. 00:57:32 Speaker 1: But he was. 00:57:33 Speaker 2: He's got that fucking move too. He like puts his arm in and uses your leverage to spin you around. Because you look at him and you're like, yeah, he's definitely like He's a beefcake, there's no doubt about. Like, he's got a lot of muscles, but he's so short. You're like, I'll be able to handle this. It's very hard to handle that. No sacks, but it was a hard game. 00:57:53 Speaker 1: Then you see him on Instagram just pushing those sleds and the plants are like. 00:57:56 Speaker 2: Plates are falling over. Hitting him in the head doesn't even matter a time. He's got a bendy bar with four or five on it, reverse gripping it. 00:58:04 Speaker 1: Like this, brother, you are retired? 00:58:06 Speaker 2: Yeah, what do you what are you here chasing? 00:58:08 Speaker 6: You saw his comment about the one hundred men versus Gorilla. 00:58:12 Speaker 1: He's yeah, j Terrris's yeah. He's like they're like, why too, wanted to film? 00:58:16 Speaker 3: Want to film it? That's pretty what's he? 00:58:19 Speaker 1: What's he out here chasing eighteen hundred pounds? 00:58:23 Speaker 3: No way, God, he's got it. He's got to be on that t R T or something right. 00:58:30 Speaker 2: Of all time that Achilles is needed that in the NBA this year. 00:58:35 Speaker 1: Gotta be on something. 00:58:36 Speaker 2: Gotta be on something right, I mean now for sure. Yeah, but when he played, he was undrafted. 00:58:42 Speaker 1: You ever seen the interview rumors? 00:58:43 Speaker 2: Have you seen the interview of him, like I think it's like his first couple of years in the league or whatever. And the guy sits down and he's like, uh, so, talk to me about the combine. Hees, uh, I didn't go to combine. He goes, oh, we'll talk to me about draft night. He's like, you don't know me, do you. He's like he's like, I wasn't drafted, and the guys like, oh, I guess I don't know you. He takes the microphone off and just leaves. 00:59:05 Speaker 3: Like fucking fucking guy. Then at full back, Jesus. 00:59:10 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's insane, bro, Like, have you seen a more intimidating. 00:59:14 Speaker 1: Figure than him? On? 00:59:14 Speaker 3: No way, that's him. Man. I'm a criminal justice major at the University of Cincinnati, so I understand the law. I knew how to stay out of jail. 01:00:42 Speaker 2: You know some strategy strategy. 01:00:46 Speaker 3: I was like, listen, I'm not going to know how to read, but I'm know how to stay out of jail. 01:00:50 Speaker 2: I think if you had to pick one or the other, that's the one you pick, no doubt about it. So never to jail. 01:00:56 Speaker 3: Huh, oh, you son of a bitch. What is that up that you're going to take me? Right? I thought we were done talking to Super Bowl? 01:01:07 Speaker 1: It was fire. Any old photos that you look back at You're like, god, it. 01:01:10 Speaker 3: Wasn't fucking everything. The worst thing I ever did was the dating show. Oh, catching Kelsey was the fucking worst thing I ever did. Why it didn't I don't know if it's it didn't set me up for anything. It was I didn't realize what reality TV really was, and it's just what the experience was. That's not even my body set you up for slander, you know what I mean? Yeah, well, not even that. It was just it was I don't even think anybody watched it. It was just fifty women from fifty states. 01:01:48 Speaker 1: This is after your rookie year, so this is after the knee. 01:01:51 Speaker 3: My knee, get it knee? Look at the get go, get it. Do you think he he cares about the game? 01:02:21 Speaker 2: What is what is that first team meeting, like after the show airs. 01:02:26 Speaker 3: I mean I was getting smoked all season for that. I think I had a pretty solid year after that. So I still showed up. So it wasn't like I wasn't being accountable. It was just being like, Hey, how about we fucking figure out something else out to do? You know, how about we figure something out? 01:02:51 Speaker 2: So was that not renewed for a second season? 01:02:55 Speaker 3: Even if they asked me to do it again, I would be like, hell know how. 01:02:59 Speaker 2: Soon after that? You like, I'll never do this shit again. 01:03:01 Speaker 3: About halfway through, Oh no is filming at all? In the old Hollywood they said fifty from each state. It was more so like fifty from LA that can tell you they have a relative that lives in another state. No shit, it was hilarious. 01:03:26 Speaker 2: That's just wild. And your agent said do it. 01:03:31 Speaker 3: Yeah, I said no to it about five times. 01:03:34 Speaker 1: We have any word on Battle Camp season two. 01:03:37 Speaker 2: I haven't heard anything yet. 01:03:38 Speaker 1: I do. 01:03:38 Speaker 2: I'm as sure you that text today you did. All I need to say. You're hearing this right now, make sure you vote, makes you vote. 01:03:58 Speaker 1: We're not gonna say I that there's a nominee for uh something. Yeah, just know that we got to be ready. Boots on the ground, boots on the ground. We gotta vote, we gotta vote, we gotta vote. 01:04:11 Speaker 2: So, but no word on the uh no. It has not officially greenlit a second season of Battle Camp. 01:04:17 Speaker 1: Did you watch any of the Battle Camp? 01:04:19 Speaker 3: I didn't catch it now, Oh. 01:04:21 Speaker 2: Widely expected to be renewed due to a strong reception that. 01:04:25 Speaker 3: You guys watch and Kelsey, you didn't. 01:04:27 Speaker 2: Watch my show. 01:04:28 Speaker 1: I've seen the clips that come out on the internet every now and then. 01:04:31 Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's crazy. 01:04:35 Speaker 2: You didn't watch any battle Camp. 01:04:36 Speaker 3: No, I don't give you a favor. 01:04:38 Speaker 2: When you get home, just go to Netflix. Type in battle Camp, play the show. I don't care if that's me. I don't care if you even don't watch it, you just walk away, go make yourself some food. But I need that, I need those views. 01:04:51 Speaker 1: I need you to go. 01:04:52 Speaker 3: I'll get in there for you. 01:04:53 Speaker 2: Outstanding. 01:04:54 Speaker 3: Look at that, Jack, Come on like that, Jack, You're killing it. Yeah, how'd you like that? 01:05:01 Speaker 2: It was definitely different. I liked it a lot. I would definitely do it again. Nice, but the location and that it was like an hour two and from one way, so it's like two hours of travel every single day. It was a lot. I was away for my family, So I think if we do a season two, if I can bring my family and do all that, then I'm in because it is it's not a heavy lift and it is a lot of fun to see how that world works, which I really enjoyed. Got to vote, Got to vote when it comes out, sure July seven. 01:05:31 Speaker 3: Vote. 01:05:31 Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, last year when we were here, there's like obviously all the hype. You guys just want a Super Bowl. Your relationship is very fresh, and you're just on you become an A list celebrity. What are some things that it's been over years since we've seen you that you're like, I miscalculated this a little bit as far as like how much exposure, how much publicity you get everywhere you walk. 01:05:55 Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just the being, I want to say being, it's just the paparazzi. That's probably the only thing I didn't really grasp until until you're in it. And that's probably the craziest part though, Like I'm just playing golf and all of a sudden, in the trees there's a fucking guy with a. 01:06:13 Speaker 2: Camera and it's like we're in a gilly suit. 01:06:16 Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, oh ship, Like I gotta go to the restroom now, I can't just go over here and take a piss. 01:06:21 Speaker 7: Right, Yeah, it's got to slamming beers. 01:06:32 Speaker 3: Just don't want my meat on page six, you know what I mean, Like, you gotta you gotta go to the restroom. 01:06:43 Speaker 1: This is like the first season where she's not touring. Yeah, and she'll be at a lot of the She'll be in a lot of the Kansas City. 01:06:49 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean she's she tried to get to as many as she could last year and she gave to a lot, So yeah, we'll have to you. 01:06:56 Speaker 1: And stuff to you. Guys are just all over. 01:07:00 Speaker 3: Yeah, having fun with it. Man being a couple. Dude, you already know it's he gets thrown out there as it's like we're trying to seek attention every now and then, but it's like we're just enjoying life and having fun. Going to hockey games. Yeah, kind of introducing her to some of some more of the sports world that she. 01:07:17 Speaker 1: Has with Stanley Cup. 01:07:19 Speaker 3: Yeah, that was fun, man, hell of a game. 01:07:21 Speaker 1: Yeah. 01:07:22 Speaker 3: You get a fucking pulled goalie, fucking last second, fucking five on six and score a goal with it with like four seconds left that she was epic. Yeah, and overtime hockey in the playoffs. 01:07:34 Speaker 1: Yeah, the fan bases will. When we were at not the Super Bowl, the Draft. Remember when we went up on top of the bud light thing and this family came over there and want to get a photo. But the wife, the lady was kind of like she approached me, She's like, yeah, I know who you are. I don't I don't really I don't really like your stuff. 01:07:51 Speaker 2: And she kind of hits me with like the little swizzy thing and I'm like, what happened? 01:07:54 Speaker 1: Like, what's going on? I'm a big fan of you guys. She's just like, you know, you just did a couple of things, and I'm just thinking, is it just the trolling of the Chiefs? Like are you just a kind of a Chiefs fan? 01:08:03 Speaker 3: Now? 01:08:04 Speaker 2: And you've seen me troll the Chiefs? Because I'm thinking, what the fuck did I do? 01:08:06 Speaker 1: That was wild? It was weird. It was like forty five and just stood on business business. I was like, look, I'm the same, We're on the same bucket team. Like, do I want you guys doing soup bowl? 01:08:17 Speaker 2: No? 01:08:18 Speaker 1: I still love my boy trapped. 01:08:21 Speaker 2: Yeah, forty five year old white women, they're the most. They will stand ten toes down on anything. 01:08:26 Speaker 3: She let me know too. 01:08:27 Speaker 1: She let me know so she's watched. I'm sure she might be watching because we got try on. Why is he going on there? Show? Dude? Uh? 01:08:38 Speaker 3: Tighten you, yes, sir, dude? 01:08:41 Speaker 2: Is it how much bigger can it get? 01:08:42 Speaker 3: It blows my mind. It's crazy how you raised over I think nine hundred thousand last year alone for charities. 01:08:48 Speaker 1: That's wild. 01:08:49 Speaker 3: It's it's just dope that we keep getting like like a lot of the main guys in the tight end community, like George is up in that thing every single year, Greg is I. Obviously they're the ones hosting it. And it's just cool to see eighty tight ends in the NFL come together for a weekend. It blows my fucking mind. 01:09:09 Speaker 2: Hang out. 01:09:10 Speaker 1: You guys have created, We've gotten pioneered less and less position group football, Like yeah, yeah, yeah, dude, I saw in the day on the field. 01:09:21 Speaker 3: I'm struggling out there the day two, I am like, I am leaking bud lights and I am just trying to figure out how I'm going to explain a route concept. Yeah, I pull up, I pull up absolutely ship face from the night before and I Greg comes up to me, he's all right, traps, you got thirty minutes, my thirty minutes of what yeah, yeah. 01:09:45 Speaker 2: Talking about route concepts while you're literally just draining. 01:09:47 Speaker 3: You're draaking. Here we go, what are we going to do it? It's crazy break out some combes tight ends. 01:09:53 Speaker 2: You Greg and George have admited it like a wholesome name, like you put tight Ends on the board. 01:09:59 Speaker 3: Well, it's I feel like, and you guys can attest to this. A lot of the tight ends are like whatever you need, I'm here for the good time. Like I'm a hard work one of the hardest workers, but at the same time, I'm here to have some fucking fun. I feel like, naturally, that's where the tight end world is. So you get those guys from every single team, and everybody's just kind of bringing When you bring them together, it's just like a big kick it. And sure enough, when you're getting like starting tight ends from all over the place, it feels like it's like an All Star like atmosphere, like an All Star weekend atmosphere or Pro Bowl atmosphere, and you start to kind of I don't know, it's really like taking off into like one of my favorite like three days before the season even starts. It's fun and. 01:10:41 Speaker 1: Then it doesn't matter where you're at on the roster. Like any of the younger tight ends that come in, it's like you see the culture and community that you guys have built. Yeah, and it's just like, I don't know, if I was a young guy, i'd be walking away feeling like, oh man, it is sick to be a part of this. 01:10:53 Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's reassuring because the shit in the building can get so tedious and like focused and like so serious. And when you had George up there, you know, making jokes about you know what he's doing, or you see me out here just like laughing about how I got locked up on a play, It's like you can you see that? All right? Everybody has these ups and downs, but you can still have fun doing this ship. 01:11:15 Speaker 2: Yeah, how did National tight End Date come about? That celeb? 01:11:22 Speaker 3: Yeah? I think that. I think that's through George. George is the he is tight end you. His family, He lives here in Nashville, his family. 01:11:32 Speaker 1: So many players I feel like move here just to go train at that barn. 01:11:35 Speaker 3: Dude, it's epic. It's epic, and that's a fucking hell of a setup. But yeah, I think his family helps, like run it. I know Claire helps a lot with the significant others. And it's just he He's embodied kind of the the fun aspect of tight end you and like what it means to be a tight end and how much you can enjoy doing it but still being like a tenay shit motherfucker. Yeah. 01:12:01 Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen somebody have more fun playing. 01:12:03 Speaker 3: Football than him. Du So he's the best. 01:12:06 Speaker 6: Is there a young George out there that you could see carrying the just personality wise doesn't even have to be his talent's crazy. 01:12:20 Speaker 3: I don't think there's another George out there. No, not in terms of like personality. There's always one one. Yeah, there's only one of those guys. You gotta be. You gotta be batshit crazy and like football smart. Yeah, I just I just haven't found I haven't seen anybody like that. We got Shocky, we got Shocky this year. I haven't met him. I haven't met him yet. Man fucking pumped. Yeah, he was one of my favorite guys. When I moved to tight End. I was like, dude, to be sweet. If I could have the intimidation that Shaky had on the field, just. 01:12:51 Speaker 2: Dream of throwing at somebody else's helmet. 01:12:53 Speaker 3: Get this, dude, man, get hit over the middle, the locks coming out? Are you kidding me? 01:13:00 Speaker 2: I mean that's all so badass. 01:13:03 Speaker 1: You want to him with the bud light question? 01:13:05 Speaker 2: Yeah, Travis Kelsey, anybody would do anything for a bud light? Okay, what is something that you would do anything for? I can't say. Family, got three Super Bowl rings? 01:13:18 Speaker 1: You got it all? 01:13:19 Speaker 2: Happy now part of Happy Gilmore. 01:13:23 Speaker 3: Done a lot, done a lot. I would say, man, God, damn this everything just screams win another super Bowl. Uh. I would do anything for it. I would do anything. I'm lame. You guys have such fucking hard questions every time I come on here hard this stuff. You hit me, and you hit me with one last time. I was sitting here fucking silent as fuck. 01:13:52 Speaker 2: Sometimes if you ever needs a break, do anything for. 01:13:56 Speaker 1: The best part is we got an editing power too, so we can just make it seem like you had one ready to go. What was George's his answer? I think his was a super Oh then, because y'all ask. 01:14:08 Speaker 6: Like, would you go to prison for a year? Yeah, if you got the one super Bowl? 01:14:14 Speaker 3: Hm hmm in prison? I mean, oh, you do anything for a good time. Sorry. 01:14:27 Speaker 2: Kelsey is known for saying he do anything for a good time. 01:14:30 Speaker 3: I'm here for a good time. Yeah. Per Chat, Yeah, I can't always believe Chat looked up a few of those. Man, I would say, I mean, I'm just gonna go Super Bowl. I just want to. I want to end this season without that fucking sour taste in my mouth. So I do anything for to be on the other side of the mountain again. 01:14:50 Speaker 1: Yes, that's wild. You already have three. 01:14:54 Speaker 2: It's kind of selfish. Yeah, if anything, I think that's a little like you remember twenty nine team when he took a super opportunity away from me? 01:15:03 Speaker 3: I mean you remember the game though, you doing that though a beautiful huh? 01:15:12 Speaker 2: You remember after the game, dat me up? Hey bro, great to see you. 01:15:14 Speaker 3: I didn't say great to see I say great game, great to see you having a great game. 01:15:18 Speaker 2: We're trying to be homies, which I did appreciate and love. But also you took something from me. 01:15:22 Speaker 3: No, I'll never get I might have. I took it more from him than I ever took awad. 01:15:29 Speaker 1: What did you take from him? What'd you take from me? 01:15:32 Speaker 2: He played like two games his O career in the playoffs, So yeah. 01:15:36 Speaker 1: We played against I was never even on that. Well, I guess the Ravens Ravens. I wasn't on the Ravens when we played the Ravens. You were up in the suite, that's right. You were up in the sweet film and me being a demon on kickoff. That's all right. 01:15:52 Speaker 2: We got to resurface that video too. I took a bit of this is the year I had my A C L torn and I was taking a video of every snap Will took and he I think he touched three people the entire game. 01:16:04 Speaker 3: It's there running around, he was kicking. 01:16:08 Speaker 1: Yeah, the zline da up A J. Brown. 01:16:18 Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, super Bowl will be nice, be good. What would you do for a four Super Bowl? What would you like? 01:16:25 Speaker 1: I think is he would do anything to have a thousand yard season, get this franchise touchdown record and cap it off of the Super Bowl, only to sail off into the sunset and not need football again. Yeah. 01:16:38 Speaker 3: Well, the focus on super Bowl. Yeah yeah, but it'll be nice. 01:16:41 Speaker 2: Those are your miners, the thousand yard season, the record, but you're major. 01:16:45 Speaker 3: I stopped throwing I stopped throwing the yards in there. I just want to get done. 01:16:51 Speaker 1: You stopped throwing them in there because you failed to get the consecutive one thousands. 01:16:54 Speaker 3: No, well, I mean I chose not to play that game. 01:16:58 Speaker 1: Oh that's right, that's right. 01:17:00 Speaker 3: It just isn't about the yards for me anymore. It used to be. I used to fucking want to get a thousand yards every year, every single year, like that was like the milestone and that you were elite in the league, especially at the tight end position. Yeah, but then I just like it's more important to get dubs, and I feel like getting that message to the teammates was way more important. 01:17:22 Speaker 2: It's very easy to say that when you're a first ballot Hall of Famer, when you're driving the barn. Call it quits right now, five years from season. Well, I are doing your induction speech, my boy, Travis, he did it. 01:17:36 Speaker 1: Yeah, if you need us, phone call away, because you're gonna do a lot for us. So we're just like, you know, but we're available. 01:17:44 Speaker 2: You know, we'll do that. 01:17:46 Speaker 1: Give you a hell of an introduction. 01:17:48 Speaker 2: But it is a hell of luxury to sit there. But I'm not worried about yards, Like, your legacy is cemented regardless of what happens this season. And that's got to be a badass feeling. 01:17:57 Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's still the taste of my mouth from the last game. 01:18:01 Speaker 2: Is still that is a true athlete. 01:18:04 Speaker 3: I can't, I can't. I don't feel comfortable, you know what I mean. 01:18:08 Speaker 2: Can't want the paranoids survive. 01:18:12 Speaker 1: That's all. 01:18:13 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's all I have. That was my bar for the day. 01:18:17 Speaker 1: Travis. This is great. We'll see you August twenty eighth on the sideline pre game, little pregame presser. We'll get the stair down going. 01:18:29 Speaker 3: Let's fucking go. Yeah, go ahead. 01:18:33 Speaker 1: Fish. 01:18:34 Speaker 2: I thought, no, Fish, I thought. 01:18:36 Speaker 1: He's gonna know. He's gonna know after the first quarter. He's gonna know after the first first quarter, he's gonna know. 01:18:42 Speaker 3: Come on, man, can't come at us. 01:18:44 Speaker 1: Like I'm gonna pull He's gonna look at me on the side after score the first drive? 01:18:47 Speaker 3: What's your what what? 01:18:48 Speaker 1: I'm gonna pull out a magnum. I'm gonna look at it and I'm gonna throw in the trash game back. We don't need one. Yeah, pull out a can of basoline. Yeah, don't need Yeah, they pull out a rose. Yeah, right now, Michael, we do. 01:19:08 Speaker 3: What's you guys like? What are you guys? A good like passing team. 01:19:12 Speaker 1: We're gonna be a good passing team. We're gonna be a good running team. We're gonna be solid on defense. We're a little lighter in the ass because we lost a. 01:19:18 Speaker 3: Couple Oh that's the last thing you'd see that. 01:19:20 Speaker 1: We lost a couple of big dogs in the middle. 01:19:23 Speaker 3: See that's where that's where we have a better offensive. 01:19:25 Speaker 1: Line than Raila another year in the system. You know his old man, Dominic Raiola. This is a kid who comes into the system. He knows every check, every past protection, that there is a check at the line of scrimmage. He got weapons on the outside. Yeah, Dominic Raiola thirteen years in the league, twelve thirteen all pro. 01:19:40 Speaker 3: No, I'm talking about his son. 01:19:43 Speaker 1: Yeah, that's his that's his boy out there. Yeah. 01:19:45 Speaker 3: And he's he's on the same level mentally. 01:19:47 Speaker 1: He's on a Yeah, he's on a level mentally. I was talking to the OC and we were you know, I'll keep those conversations private. 01:19:53 Speaker 3: Centerfield's brother. 01:19:56 Speaker 1: Holgerson, Dana Holgerson. He wears the uh the boys red head on the sideline penis what I'm talking about. 01:20:05 Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay. 01:20:08 Speaker 1: We hired him mid year, went on a little run there at the end. 01:20:12 Speaker 3: I remember this dude. 01:20:16 Speaker 1: Stumble in Iowa run at the end of the year. But second last game of the year, we stumbled with Iowa. Wait. 01:20:22 Speaker 2: I was the second to last game of the year. 01:20:24 Speaker 1: I was like our last regular season game because you know, we went bowling bad boy Mowers. 01:20:28 Speaker 3: Still, it was the best bowl game you went to when you were. 01:20:33 Speaker 1: There Capitol one part of the New year six and here we go, will what'd you do? Pick six? 01:20:39 Speaker 3: Pick six? 01:20:42 Speaker 1: His trips far gun the ex was nasty and there's a little tip on the sheet. One hundred percent of the time they'd run a you know, the extra runner dragon. They're trying to get you with the with the running back mid screens. Get it out right. When he was coming down, like shut give me, he did a little spin. Here it is right here. We got the clip up. 01:21:02 Speaker 2: Ill know we got it so fast. 01:21:03 Speaker 3: Why do you see the. 01:21:03 Speaker 1: Trips far gun axes. Nasty is inside the numbers. For those watching, he's inside of the numbers. That's what we mean by nasty. Loads green, it's brutal. Oh no, come on, guys, I got trappings. I gotta show on this. 01:21:19 Speaker 6: This is crazy we do if we're trying to wait for it to load. 01:21:23 Speaker 3: Some shout. 01:21:24 Speaker 6: I don't know if he shout out could be in order. Because our god Demetrius, he said he came prepared in case the opportunity came up. 01:21:30 Speaker 3: Yeah, he got me last. Oh here we go talk this out. 01:21:33 Speaker 1: Slipped up on it. Oh can you hit the rewind? Can you hit the rewind? 01:21:37 Speaker 3: Who the fuck is that Aaron Murray? Yes, bro, God damn it, Aaron. 01:21:42 Speaker 1: Todd Gurley, Keith Mark. 01:21:45 Speaker 3: Can't fucking stare fifty one right in the eyes and throw it right? Yeah, he thought he thought, guy's he didn't respect you at all. He's like, no way, this guy can catch it. 01:21:54 Speaker 2: And catching spin is impressive double clutch. 01:21:58 Speaker 1: Though I thought I was forty yards. I guess just twenty five. 01:22:00 Speaker 3: You guys won that game. 01:22:02 Speaker 1: We won the first half. They named the games after you. Yeah, New Year six, that's why they named the pick six on New Year's Day? Did you know that? 01:22:13 Speaker 3: No? I didn't even know you guys. I don't even know you guys went into the bay? 01:22:18 Speaker 1: Is this two thousand and the year was twenty thirteen because the New Year just kicked off. But it was the twenty twelfth season. 01:22:27 Speaker 2: We played that year, did we? 01:22:30 Speaker 1: Yeah? We beat you guys. We under black shirts. You guys ever two yards of carry? 01:22:34 Speaker 2: This is your senior year. 01:22:35 Speaker 1: Yeah, last game of my last game of my life in college ball. You had to send you had to go off right. I did my part. Listen, I got us up thirteen six. 01:22:45 Speaker 2: Got us up thirteen six. Busha took care the last Yeah, we had to lead. 01:22:50 Speaker 3: God, I don't know what was your last year, last game. 01:22:54 Speaker 2: Last game? Buffalo Wall Wings Bull Also, yeah, Tempe Arizona US game in high school was also in Tempe Arizona and we played Kansas State and we got Donkey stomped, like forty four to fourteen. Shout out Russell Bellamy, our quarterback. 01:23:10 Speaker 1: What was the best boys played there? 01:23:15 Speaker 3: I got in against Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators at the Sugar Bowl. Oh yeah, we I think timpt Tebo threw for five hundred yards and we all know he's not much of a thrower. 01:23:28 Speaker 1: Yeah, kind of went off. 01:23:30 Speaker 3: Yeah he did. He had his career day against the Old bear Cats. 01:23:33 Speaker 2: Solid first round draft pick. 01:23:35 Speaker 3: Yeah, we gave it. Yeah, they got who they lose. 01:23:38 Speaker 2: To Old Miss that year and then to lose the. 01:23:41 Speaker 3: National state they did. They did a thirty. They did a thirty for thirty on that team, and they didn't show the last game they played. I was hoping we were going to get a came came. They didn't even show mawny points. You guys put up. I had one carry for twenty two yards. 01:23:57 Speaker 1: One carry. 01:23:57 Speaker 3: Yeah, it was back one of my QB days. 01:24:00 Speaker 1: Back in my QB days, you're playing quarterback, so you're getting killed. 01:24:03 Speaker 3: The second half. Man, we're getting smoked. 01:24:06 Speaker 2: Murdered fifty. 01:24:11 Speaker 1: I was. 01:24:12 Speaker 3: I was a part of that second half surge though. You see. 01:24:16 Speaker 2: Second half, sir. 01:24:18 Speaker 3: But he he came. 01:24:21 Speaker 1: Cat for the shadow. No free shoutout. 01:24:24 Speaker 3: He's got the jersey on Shadow. 01:24:28 Speaker 1: Off. 01:24:30 Speaker 3: Let's go meet Cincinnati bearcat as well. I've been back here quiet, you know, but it's gonna be Cats by ninety. 01:24:45 Speaker 3: Cats by nine. 01:24:47 Speaker 2: I was wonderway or so quiet back there, just waiting tailor. 01:24:51 Speaker 5: Yeah, but shout out, no free shadowt what I say last year, Shout out to all the plumbers last year. 01:24:55 Speaker 3: But this year he was caging some toilets. 01:24:58 Speaker 5: Sometimes when you're in a quick you need something good to eat, you know, you start scrawling on Uber eats. 01:25:03 Speaker 3: Door dash is terrible. Uber eats. Some Uber eats all day, you know what I mean. 01:25:07 Speaker 5: Shout out to all those delivery drivers out there slum in the streets delivering that hot fresh food from wherever you decide to, you know, press some on. 01:25:15 Speaker 3: You know, man, they're the real MVPs out there. I can give one if we need to give them. 01:25:39 Speaker 6: Uh my shout out, no, free shoutout would be we're talking about reading earlier when you're in elementary school and either your name or your friend's name comes up in the text that you're reading in the book for class. So it's like Michael went to the store to grab five apples and you look over at your. 01:25:56 Speaker 2: Boy Michael, You're like, you're in the book, and. 01:25:58 Speaker 6: I feel like it's always hyphen your name gets featured in your like elementary school school book. 01:26:03 Speaker 1: All right, Yeah, very nice, very nice. 01:26:11 Speaker 7: My shoutout new for Shadow this week goes to goes to my twenty nineteen Susquehanna football team. We got an email or we got notified I think like a week ago that we are team is getting inducted into the Ring. 01:26:27 Speaker 3: Of Honor for our college. The whole team, the whole team. 01:26:30 Speaker 7: Nice, there you go, fu Man, September sixth, I will be up at Susquehanna accepting that, so I won't be here. 01:26:40 Speaker 3: Yeah this question? Oh yeah, so. 01:26:45 Speaker 2: You're not going to be at work Saturday. It's Saturday. 01:26:49 Speaker 7: The captains are accepting it, and I was blessed enough to be a captain, So me, Davy Cole. 01:26:56 Speaker 1: All right, I see you, Mitch. 01:26:59 Speaker 2: Mitches have a record to year right now. 01:27:01 Speaker 3: I thought he was a center with that sea up there with you're a captain? 01:27:03 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, nice, Sure what you got for us, babe? 01:27:08 Speaker 1: Shout out in a free shout out to the twenty nineteen Susquehanna roster. They're getting inducted into. 01:27:13 Speaker 3: The Ring of Honor, and my boy Mitch is going to be there. 01:27:16 Speaker 1: He was a captain on the team. 01:27:17 Speaker 2: Nice, good, great shout out, great shout out. Will I don't have one on me right now, I'm gonna steal one. Last week JP was going on a bachelor party. Wasn't excited about going on that baskelut party. Yesterday I decided to call JP. But hey, was it worth it? Quickly says yes, Drives. However, many hours you did drive for eight hours. It took eight hours to get back, right, so let's say six hours there, eight hours back, just to spend one day with his boy who's known for a long time. And the one thing that resonated with me in that conversation was the gratitude text from your boy saying, Hey, I appreciate you making the time. I thank you for coming out. I know we don't get to hang out as much. And I feel like anytime you see what your friends, you do something, you go the extra mile for one of your old friends you haven't seen a long time, and you get that text, you realize you're on the right path in life. So shout out the gratitude texts. 01:28:24 Speaker 1: Do you need me any give one? 01:28:26 Speaker 3: Yeah, you're yours. 01:28:29 Speaker 1: I'm back and forth between violent shits in our fire department. No, this is two separate shout outs. I'm gonna shout out our our fire department, the ambulance crew. I haven't told you this story. I told it last night for the dads. But Ru was choking on a coin. Ru was choking on a coin. I was sitting at the kitchen island, she was having lunch. We're talking routine lunch, Charle was playing with Scotty on the couch, and Rue wanted Charle to do this magic trick that Charle always does for and Charle's like, I can do it for you later, sweetheart. I'm playing with Scotty right now, but whenever you get done, we can do the magic trick over here. And I'm pumping out an email so I'm not watching Rue, but apparently there was a coin, a euro a coin sitting on the kitchen island. Rue grabs the coin, and this magic trick is like whether Charle puts in the back of her ear behind her head, or it comes out, but it seems like it comes out of her mouth, or she puts it in her mouth and it comes out somewhere else. So Rue has the coin, and she's essentially trying to mimic this magic trick. So she puts the coin in her mouth and she starts choking to where I'm sitting there on my iPad, and I hear her gag herself, and I hear make the gag noise, and I kind of look over at her, and she's got her fingers in her mouth and she gags herself again, and I'm just looking at her. I'm like, what are you doing? They're thinking, like, you know, she might have found something new that she was like doing. I have no clue. And I hear Charles say, like, are you I was like, is she choking? She's like she's choking. She's choking. There's a coin in her mouth that I stand up and I'm like, what in the fuck is going on? I like get behind her room and I start trying to give her the heim lick, and Charle's like, are you doing it right? And I was like, I think I'm doing it right. And I'm like hopping up and down with her, like right below the stern. I'm trying to get it up, and Charles just jumps and watch out, and she's like trying to grip it out of trying to like reach down her throat and get the coin. She's like, I feel it. I feel I feel it. And she's like I lost it. I lost it. And I'm like, I go, what do we do? She's like call nine one one. I'm gonna I'm gonna keep trying to scrape it out. So I called nine one one. I'm in an absolute panic. She's trying to get the coin. Out of rust. She's starting to bleed. There's like blood on my shirt because she like scratches her in the throat and I'm on the phone. The call lasts about three minutes, and about the two minute mark, when we have somebody on their way, Charles like, I got the coin again, I got the coin. She rips the coin out of her throat and ruined up being fine. But the EMT, like the fire department, everybody, like you know, comes over to the house and they just check her for vitals. She turned up fine, but absolute terrifying moment, insane best when there within I want to say, like three minutes from that call, oh no shit, there's like somebody coming, Like when the call was happening, She's like, there's somebody coming right now. Because I was like, hey, she got the coin out. She seems to be doing okay. I asked her a couple of questions like while I'm on the phone, and she's like, well, everybody, they're on their way already, so they're gonna come and just like check her vitals and stuff. So shut out the fire department, the EMT, the EMT crew, because they're like giving us, you know, they're like breaking down like some of the situations that could have happened, because I'm thinking in my mind in that moment, if she goes unconscious, like she could die, that's not like she's like no, even if she goes unconscious, she started doing the compressions and she's trying to get like oxygen to her brain. We would have still got it out had we arrived, because a coin. The good thing about a coin is it's not like it doesn't break down like food does in your throat to work and like fully close it, fully close it up. But it's like, you know, they're kind of briefing us on everything that happened, but it was fucking terrifying. 01:31:51 Speaker 2: What was that talk like after the rough Hey, we're. 01:31:54 Speaker 1: Not gonna put a coin in her mouth anymore, are we? Yeah? Yeah. It's like, you know, Charle was in a panic and stuff afterwards, and and I was like, uh, maybe we don't teach Scotty that magic trick. But you know, it ended up, it ended up all slid. But it was like in that moment, it was hell, buddy. It was scary, especially when Charles like I got it and she's like I lost it went down further I'm just like, oh my god, and Charge just jumps into like superhero mode, like you call that one, and she's like scraping it out for she's like, you know, knuckle deep. She has like bite marks like up here on her hand. 01:32:36 Speaker 2: Dude, we got so I don't know if we don't have this exact one, but there's something like that goes over their nose and mouth and you like press a button and it pull something out. 01:32:43 Speaker 1: So we'll like that's what you first started to talk about last night. 01:32:46 Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not it's not this, but it's like it's like more like harder plastic and it kind of goes down and it has something up there and you press it but it and it shoots it down. It's like spring loaded where it shoots down and so it can pull something out. Because I've had the thought a couple of times with the kids eating something like those grapes, I'm thinking, myself, those grapes are dangerous. 01:33:03 Speaker 1: Motherfuckers always slicing. 01:33:05 Speaker 2: Them, always, But then they get older and you're like, all right, I guess you can have a regular ass grape. And I just get nervous, getting nervous about that choking and pools Man, I get nervous with my kids being it. That's not it either. 01:33:16 Speaker 3: But yeah, draft, I'm over here trying to figure it out. And then I hear how serious this fucking story is. So I haven't been thinking about it at all. It Shout out to your wife, though, man, that's all she jumped, you know what. Shout out to the Cleveland Heights Tigers, man, take it back to high school. I haven't been around my city in probably two years, man. And I I literally named a podcast with me and my brother after the upbringing that we had. And I just I love the I love the areas that I grew up. I love the families that that helped me kind of become the man that I am today. And uh, I just feel you can never give enough love to a community that that that raises kids the right way. Man, So shout out, free shout out, shut out, No free shout out. I love you guys. 01:34:13 Speaker 1: You adjacent have to put pressure and that sneak them an idea. But host a little live podcast. 01:34:19 Speaker 3: Yeah, we both gott to get back to Cleveland. Man. 01:34:25 Speaker 1: I was just gonna say, sometimes I enjoy the fight of an explosive ship, Like when you know when you know you're having a big one and you're kind of fighting, you know, no punitend, you're kind of fighting your ass off, a little bit of blood in the stool afterwards, and you're kind of like it becomes a strategy to where Okay, I can't push this out. I'm gonna have to slowly start breaking it down. So you start like clamping your ass cheeks and your asshole, so it breaks it down a little bit so you can have a little bit more life to push. And then you don't want to push too hard because again you're not trying to get a hemorrhoid. I've had those. Those are hell, So just a little out of time, you squeeze, you push a little harder. 01:34:56 Speaker 3: We gotta we gotta start hydrating, Start push a little harder. 01:35:01 Speaker 1: It's almost like when they tell you leave two reps in the bank when you're doing a max outset. So you don't want to go to a full bore where you RPMs are all the way up. You want to go just enough, break it down a little bit more and get it out. And I sometimes I enjoy a nice fight in the toilet feels good. Yeah, Yeah, that was it. 01:35:21 Speaker 3: That's insane, a little blood wild, What. 01:35:25 Speaker 2: A great time in this podcast. 01:35:26 Speaker 1: Thank you. 01:35:26 Speaker 2: Travis Kelsey's but stopping bise always August twenty eighth, Dude, it's gonna be pandemonium that
