<v Speaker 3>my baby, and I was like crying.

<v Speaker 3>It was also a different time, yeah than I think
<v Speaker 3>a lot has changed in the world and the society
<v Speaker 3>and just everything's so fast now.

<v Speaker 3>was like, oh, I got to put you up for adoption.
<v Speaker 3>I want you to have like a better life. I
<v Speaker 3>need you to have a better life. And then I
<v Speaker 3>was just like looking at him sleeping in his car seat,
<v Speaker 3>and I was like, why can't I do it? Why
<v Speaker 3>can't I give him better life. I'm going to do
<v Speaker 3>anything it takes to make sure he has the best
<v Speaker 3>life possible. And I was like, I'm gonna work every
<v Speaker 3>single job. I'm a true Jamaican. I had thirteen jobs.

<v Speaker 3>I just worked and I kept adding things in and
<v Speaker 3>I was far attending, doing a makeup at a makeup counter,
<v Speaker 3>working in a security ie room at the mall, like
<v Speaker 3>literally anything I could do I did. And then that
<v Speaker 3>included me working the door at a strip club, then
<v Speaker 3>becoming a dancer, and then meeting a stripper who was
<v Speaker 3>in the porn industry. And she came to work one
<v Speaker 3>day and was like I. She was like all done up,
<v Speaker 3>and I was like, oh, you're not supposed to be
<v Speaker 3>on schedule because this is back when we had schedules.
<v Speaker 3>And she was like, yeah, I had to shoot cancel
<v Speaker 3>today and I was like, what was it. She was
<v Speaker 3>like it was just a girl girl scene and it
<v Speaker 3>paid four hundred dollars. I was like four hundred dollars.

<v Speaker 3>Walked in this house and I was like, this is
<v Speaker 3>the biggest house I've ever been in. And it was
<v Speaker 3>just like such a like looking back at it now,
<v Speaker 3>it was almost like a dream experience, so it wasn't
<v Speaker 3>like real, you know. And they were like, okay, they
<v Speaker 3>give the scenario. I went in and they were like
<v Speaker 3>and then you're gonna eat her pussy and I was

<v Speaker 3>they were shooting six days a month, ten days a month,
<v Speaker 3>twenty days a month. Some girls were doing double days.
<v Speaker 3>They were shooting and they had a scene in the daytime,
<v Speaker 3>they had a scene at night. My first couple of
<v Speaker 3>years in the industry, I only shot girl girl, and
<v Speaker 3>I only I think I only shot six to ten
<v Speaker 3>scenes a year, and it was only one. I was like, Oh,
<v Speaker 3>I could use a little extra money to pay for Christmas.
<v Speaker 3>The holidays are coming up. I'd like to help my
<v Speaker 3>family with something or do something for somebody. It was
<v Speaker 3>never intended to be a full time thing, and oddly enough,
<v Speaker 3>it still has never been a full time thing ever,
<v Speaker 3>which is weird because my name comes from the industry.
<v Speaker 3>The industry's always been my secondary or my part time thing,
<v Speaker 3>and I think that's one of the reasons that I'm
<v Speaker 3>still here. I didn't burn out in the beginning. I
<v Speaker 3>didn't get shot out. Remember, everybody's like, oh, you're gonna
<v Speaker 3>get shot out, but girl, that's what was happening. And
<v Speaker 3>then they would they would shoot and shoot and shoot
<v Speaker 3>and shoot, and then they shot for every company in
<v Speaker 3>three months, and then nobody shot them for six to
<v Speaker 3>nine months, and you're like, where am I going to
<v Speaker 3>get my next paycheck?
<v Speaker 1>Well?
<v Speaker 3>I never did that. I always was like saving money
<v Speaker 3>for a rainy day. Have this job, have this job,
<v Speaker 3>make sure you have insurance, this job.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And I think that's helped with the longevity is never
<v Speaker 3>having it be one hundred percent full time.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I know that makes sense.
<v Speaker 3>It helps like I don't have burnout like people to
<v Speaker 3>do it, and I.
<v Speaker 2>Could have that balance too, write and also you know,
<v Speaker 2>probably do other things. You feel like there's some people
<v Speaker 2>get so I think trapped in the industry that you know,
<v Speaker 2>I mean obviously there's a stigma that goes along with it,
<v Speaker 2>and they find that if it's time to pivot, they
<v Speaker 2>want to pivot, they have nowhere to go.
<v Speaker 1>They've built no foundation in anything else.
<v Speaker 3>They get lost. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, and a lot of
<v Speaker 3>people get caught up with I think the money of it.
<v Speaker 3>You know, it's it's hard when you can make a
<v Speaker 3>couple one hundred dollars a minute doing adult entertainment and
<v Speaker 3>then you go to a job and you're making thirty
<v Speaker 3>dollars an hour.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Yeah, and that's that's actually a good rate, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>A lot of people don't get that much.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's actually yeah, because I don't even I don't
<v Speaker 3>know what minimum wages right now. I'm from California. I
<v Speaker 3>think ours was a little bit higher than the number. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>the cost of living is like higher high, you know.
<v Speaker 3>But I've always had some kind of source of income
<v Speaker 3>that's not adult really, And there's been times where I've
<v Speaker 3>taken two years off of shooting and just gone to
<v Speaker 3>school and actually had a regular job of ish, you know,
<v Speaker 3>worked at a nightclub in Vegas, done bottle service, bartending,
<v Speaker 3>like everything, just to kind of I don't want to
<v Speaker 3>say ground myself, but like.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, not put all your eggs in one basket.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and just like have a different just integrate maybe
<v Speaker 3>different types of work and life and experiences. I really
<v Speaker 3>like experience, So I have adhd of life.
<v Speaker 2>That's what it is, speaking of experiences. So you've done
<v Speaker 2>like pretty much everything in the industry, right Performer dom
<v Speaker 2>producer director Agent talently is on what role taught you
<v Speaker 2>the most about how this industry really works.
<v Speaker 3>Definitely a combination of being a performer and being a director.
<v Speaker 3>So having a team, shooting from start to finish, seeing
<v Speaker 3>everything that goes into it behind the camera, from creating
<v Speaker 3>the scene. Because I was a director producer when I
<v Speaker 3>was at the company in San Francisco, and I worked
<v Speaker 3>six days a week, ten hours a day, sometimes twelve
<v Speaker 3>hours a day, and then go home and work. I
<v Speaker 3>got to put together the scene. I didn't have script writers.
<v Speaker 3>I had to write the script, put the plot together,
<v Speaker 3>meet with the gaffing people, meet with the set designer,
<v Speaker 3>put everything together for maybe the two shoots that I
<v Speaker 3>was doing that week, just kind of seeing all the
<v Speaker 3>moving parts and how all the cog wheels come together,
<v Speaker 3>and from the idea of something to creating it and
<v Speaker 3>making sure you have like the right talent to create it,
<v Speaker 3>and making sure that talent is like okay with what
<v Speaker 3>you're doing, especially because it was a lot of fetish
<v Speaker 3>yeah I was doing originally. But I think the combination
<v Speaker 3>of those two coming together in the middle of my
<v Speaker 3>experience on camera and behind the camera have really meshed
<v Speaker 3>well to give me the most insight on how to
<v Speaker 3>work the cogs, how to grind that wheel.
<v Speaker 2>You know what do people misunderstand the most about the
<v Speaker 2>difference between being on camera and running things behind the scenes.
<v Speaker 3>I'm going to be one hundred percent honest, I think
<v Speaker 3>it's easier to be on camera.

<v Speaker 2>and it pays significantly less, so much less, and it's like, well,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if I would say it's less thankful,

<v Speaker 2>stay in it, especially if as a performer you have

<v Speaker 3>There's days that you work and work and work and
<v Speaker 3>work and work, and you don't get paid for any
<v Speaker 3>of those days, and you're like what am I doing
<v Speaker 3>this for? And you just got to like stay on track.
<v Speaker 2>It's hard, yeah, I mean, it's just like the thing
<v Speaker 2>is is that what I think some people don't understand
<v Speaker 2>about the adult industry versus like the mainstream industries, that
<v Speaker 2>we don't have the same budgets. So like a mainstream
<v Speaker 2>like you'll have several producers, right, You'll have like an
<v Speaker 2>executive producer, a line producer, a story producer, and all
<v Speaker 2>these people take care of very specific parts of the project, right,
<v Speaker 2>everybody's very specialized, but like an adult, like you're just
<v Speaker 2>the producer and usually.
<v Speaker 1>If you're the director, you're also the producer and.
<v Speaker 3>Now the videographer yeah, to the editor, yeah.

<v Speaker 3>jobs that I've done. It's hard on your body, your emotions,
<v Speaker 3>how people look at you, misconceptions in general, and you
<v Speaker 3>have to have a really strong head, strong thoughts, and
<v Speaker 3>you have to really love yourself to know that a
<v Speaker 3>lot of the bad things that people are saying about
<v Speaker 3>you is really about them and not about you. You know,
<v Speaker 3>it's a lot of deflection. It's a lot easier for

<v Speaker 3>makeup is probably one of my favorite parts of the
<v Speaker 3>day because you get to like relax and just meditate

<v Speaker 3>get to have fun. You get to act. For me,
<v Speaker 3>it's about having fun and acting out the scene and
<v Speaker 3>bringing this person's idea to life, Like is this what
<v Speaker 3>you want? Is this how you want me to be?

<v Speaker 3>this for you. Let me take what's in your head
<v Speaker 3>and make get a reality so everybody else can see it.

<v Speaker 3>have something going on in their personal life. And I'm like,
<v Speaker 3>you know, you can also take a break, take a beat.
<v Speaker 3>You don't have to push yourself through things, because sometimes
<v Speaker 3>you're just gonna hurt yourself or you know, sit in
<v Speaker 3>your car and cry and feel lucky. But you can
<v Speaker 3>say no, you can stop what you're doing. You can
<v Speaker 3>reassess the situation. If it's something that maybe your co
<v Speaker 3>partner doesn't know, you can say, hey, I don't feel
<v Speaker 3>comfortable doing this, and the nine times out of ten
<v Speaker 3>they're gonna say, oh my god, I'm so sorry. I
<v Speaker 3>didn't know that you don't like having your hair pulled
<v Speaker 3>or you know, your nipple touched. But that's why we
<v Speaker 3>have boundary checklists. That's why we do things. And I
<v Speaker 3>think that that shoot right there, would I ever do
<v Speaker 3>it again? Hell fucking no, whatever, send anybody I was
<v Speaker 3>an agent, I had an agency, wouldever send somebody to
<v Speaker 3>that guy's shoot?
