00:00:00 Speaker 1: Welcome everyone. 00:00:01 Speaker 2: It is the local Toylet Dealers KSR postgame show. For the second straight time this season, Kentucky comes back from fourteen points or more down to win against Tennessee and sweep the season series. Another absolute thrillers. The Cats win seventy four to seventy one. I met Jones eight five, nine, two eighth, twenty two eighty seven. Ryan Lemon is in Lexington. I'm in San Francisco, so we literally I have Billy and Mario and Drew waiting outside my room because we are about to go uh to this super Bowl party tonight. But I couldn't leave here without talking a little bit about this game. 00:00:43 Speaker 1: Ryan. It was an exciting victory. 00:00:46 Speaker 2: Yet another one where we fall way behind you hat another one where we have a ton of grit to come back, and yet another great night for Kentucky in. 00:00:54 Speaker 1: A really bizarre but fun season. 00:00:57 Speaker 3: I guess we should get to the point where we we should learn that, hey, they got a lot of fight in them as second half, don't give up on them. Because once again at halftime, I found myself, Okay, they're about to get run to Tennessee was hitting everything. They're down fourteen points, at home on their home floor. But once again they should a lot of fight, bring it back, get that win. 00:01:16 Speaker 1: It was unbelievable. 00:01:17 Speaker 2: I mean I first of all, you got to give the credit to this team for its heart. I mean, they are I do not think this is not the most talented team in the world, but this is a team that plays hard and has since they've had all these injuries, they've had to find their roles. They've had to find exactly what they're gonna do. All these guys that play, and you know, now it's basically down to a nine man rotation. A lot of the times it's kind of down to seven. And the seven guys that play, they each play through their weaknesses and I give them a lot of credit. They have completely sort of outperformed where I thought they would be after the injury led to three players going out and UH you eighteen and seven, eight and three in the SEC two wins against UH Tennessee one at Arkansas. So I just want to go over a few things before I handed to Ryan to take everybody's calls. We were gonna have Ryan's got Carl Ravitsch on. He wanted to come on, but we went too late. You would have been excited. Ryan, that's your guy. 00:02:23 Speaker 3: I love Carl Rabbage. 00:02:25 Speaker 1: I saw he wanted well, he said it got too late. 00:02:30 Speaker 2: I understand the ninety sixteen went a little while so he couldn't wait anymore. But let a few things to talk about. I think the key to this game was down the stretch. Obviously, Kentucky fell down early, came back. You know, it was kind of a dog fight, a rock fight in the middle of the second half. But guys play, so you start with otega Oway. You know, in the first half he even though he had twelve points, I kind of was disappointed in how he played, especially defensively, not the second I mean I thought the way the decisions he made, the reverse layup to take the lead, and then the pass to Colin Chandler for that three. Obviously Chandler huge making the shot. He's made big shots and big plays all year. But that pass, there is a time away would have taken that to the basket, maybe got maybe he'd a drawn a foul, maybe he would have gotten blocked. He made the right read and also clearly had trust in Colin Chandler to give him that opportunity, and Colin was buckets and then on the very next play he runs back on defense guards. Nate a Mint makes him take a tough shot in which he is in his face and he misses, and that starts the process that leads to Kentucky winning the game. You gotta give away a lot of credit. There are times that sometimes I sit there and go, man, I know you can give more. But then there are times that he gives more than as much as anybody that's play. It's not always one hundred percent, but he comes through in the clutch, and I was really proud of him tonight in how he performed. Obviously, Colin Chandler hits a shot, huge three, one of the you know, you get a look like that. If you miss it, the team probably loses the game. I mean, if he misses that shot, Kentucky loses. He makes it, they win, massive shot, And like I said, you go back to the Tennessee game in Knoxville where he got the steal the pass against LSU. He's done this all year long. I thought Aberdeen was good again, making good decisions. They now will put the ball in his hands at these into game situations, and I think so far he's done the right thing. And he made free throws. Okay, he made the free throws that cut the game to one, and then he made the free throws that basically put the game away at the end. You know, you need guys who make them, and some of the other guys had struggled. Malachi Moreno, I thought, had a couple of big plays. Dia b Tay's rebound. I don't know how Tennessee lets him get that rebound, but that's a huge rebound and the presence of mind to get rid of the ball because he's not a great free throw shooter, and and to get it to Chandler who ended up missing, but still uh that that is a massive rebound. 00:05:16 Speaker 1: That Kentucky might not win if he doesn't make. 00:05:18 Speaker 2: So all of those guys making plays down their stretch, Ryan, you know, without having the star power. And I think I said at halftime, Kentucky doesn't have a guy like Nate Amen who can go for twenty nine. They don't have a guy like the game before we saw with Caleb Wilson. 00:05:36 Speaker 1: All these guys have to contribute if they're gonna succeed, and tonight they did. 00:05:40 Speaker 3: I'm glad you mentioned Noah's pass because I put a big star by it on my notes because we're all gonna remember Colin Chandeler hitting that shot. 00:05:46 Speaker 1: Wait man, you took notes. 00:05:48 Speaker 3: I've got game notes here for. 00:05:49 Speaker 1: Oh I love it, I love I love a pilpri But go ahead. 00:05:53 Speaker 3: You know he drives down in traffic because there need the back. He's kind of in trouble, and yet that pass he made kind of a back handed past to find a wide open Colin Chandler, You're right, that was amazing and he doesn't get enough credit for what he did defensively against a Cup against Arkansas, and then the second half to day against Gillespie, they switch and made the switch at halftime put Chandler on. 00:06:13 Speaker 2: Yeah, amen, those guys yeah yeah, oh wait, did a great job on Gillespie. 00:06:18 Speaker 1: And then I thought Chandler held his own on amen. 00:06:22 Speaker 2: If you wouldn't necessarily have thought that was a matchup that would have gone Kentucky's way. And even though a min scored, I thought he he limited, He made him took take hard twos. Now he made a couple, but he made him take difficult shots. And Ryan, I think when you consider he had nineteen in the first half, if you told me a halftime. 00:06:39 Speaker 1: Ok, he'll only get ten in the second half. You take that all the time. 00:06:43 Speaker 3: Yeah, it wasn't working away on Amen in the first half, so they made the switch, and to Colin Chandler's credit, he's co up a couple of big defensive stops. I think he kind of frustrated Amen a little bit. And Gillespie was a non factor of the whole second half, so ah wait credit. 00:06:57 Speaker 1: He just completely disappeared. 00:06:59 Speaker 2: And it was weird because Kentucky got completely out rebounded and physical through most of the game, but they scored more points in the paint, which is a weird dichotomy, but it worked out. 00:07:12 Speaker 1: I thought the rough crowd in the second half was amazing. 00:07:16 Speaker 2: I mean, I the only thing that has bummed me out about this trip is having to miss that game in rupp Arena, because I am sure it was an awesome environment. 00:07:26 Speaker 1: You know, it's hard for. 00:07:27 Speaker 2: These games to sound loud on ESPN because of the way they put the mics in RUP. I never think it sounds loud. It actually sounded loud Ryan a few times tonight, and it looked like the crowd was into it, and I think it made a difference. You could see a couple of Tennessee guys, especially the non aiment guys. When the other guys had to shoot, you could just see Ryan. 00:07:47 Speaker 1: Yep. The environment I think was having an effect on them. 00:07:50 Speaker 3: Ks Bar has always been a good Barraminterfore, we think what the crowd's gonna be like in rub It was packed at two point thirty this afternoon and was packed all the way up until tip off. And we have tickets kind of floating around. People want to get away to no tickets, no ticket, no tickets none. Today everybody wanted to go to that game. 00:08:06 Speaker 1: This is what you want. 00:08:07 Speaker 2: I mean, it's a Saturday night game against your rival. They brought obviously brought out the denim. I like the dinim. I thought they looked really good. I thought it was great that they made that comeback in front of the ninety six team. It was cool hearing Yep, a lot of those guys right here on the on the on the postgame show. Just an awesome night, you know, an awesome Kentucky basketball BBN kind of night, which is what you want at the end of the day. You we are Kentucky fans. Four nights like this. I still I don't know how good this team is in the bigger picture. They still have weaknesses, They still do things sometimes that will. 00:08:49 Speaker 1: Drive you crazy. 00:08:49 Speaker 2: You keep thinking you can't keep falling down by these huge margins and coming back. But even with all that said, I love the way they fight. I love how hard they play. I love that they don't quit, and I also love that I mean, this is a group who you go back to the non conference, there were all kinds of issues at play ends, even to like each other. You never knew who was gonna play in a game. Yeah, then you had these injuries. 00:09:19 Speaker 1: It was this and that. 00:09:20 Speaker 3: It has now. 00:09:23 Speaker 2: Shifted to a different thing. And I think you can say that virtually every player on the team is playing better now than they were in And that's what you want, That's what you ask your coach to do. Can you get the best out of what you have? And when you consider who's on the floor for Kentucky in these situations, right, I think Mark has done an amazing job at getting this team to play at this level. 00:09:50 Speaker 1: Do you wish you had other players? Sure? Do you wish these guys hadn't gotten hurt? Sure? 00:09:54 Speaker 2: But to have Denzel Aberdeen who's not a point guard be your point guard. To have Colin Chandler regain his confidence, To have Malachai Moreno develop into an NBA prospect before your eyes. To have Yellovich go from not playing to end up being a starter and making big plays. To find a way to demote Diabate and Garrison but still get productive stuff out of them. And then old way to go from kind of what was a disappointing first half into the season we had hoped he would have. 00:10:26 Speaker 1: I just think it's been Uh, it's. 00:10:28 Speaker 2: Really I give Mark a lot of credit. I mean, I thought it was a poor performance coaching in the first half of the year. But to flip it around and to be eight and three at this point in the SEC, you got to give him a salute. 00:10:42 Speaker 3: And I think to continue your narrative, you know, Trent Noa a guy that didn't even play like the first three SEC games, I think, and now he gets anessee. 00:10:50 Speaker 1: He is a he is a Tennessee killer. You grow up in Harlan County. That's what will happen. 00:10:56 Speaker 3: I think you know they now know who their roster whood is, who they are, whether you know in other responsibilities, I think it's goad and just playing now and not looking on their shoulder thinking they may it, especially for Aberdeen. Aberdeen's a guy that I told you he's one of my least favorite players in a long time. 00:11:10 Speaker 1: Now. 00:11:11 Speaker 3: I love the guy. 00:11:12 Speaker 1: I do love him. I love the way he plays, I love he has. 00:11:16 Speaker 2: I think not worrying about having to do something to keep from getting pulled has made it to where he doesn't force the issue as much as he did, and and he's a very good defender, and I think that's made him be really, really effective. So it's an awesome win. Bigger picture, seven more games left in the regular season. You know, there was a time three weeks ago that I didn't think it was assured they would make the tournament. Now, absent a complete collapse, they will make the tournament. As long as they win one or two more, I think they'll be fine. 00:11:52 Speaker 4: Now. 00:11:52 Speaker 1: The schedule's hard, these last seven games. 00:11:55 Speaker 2: You play Florida Ice, okay, you play at Auburn, you play at Texas A and M, you host Georgia. This is a tough tough stretch coming. But you look at those games and I would say, all right, there might not be many games that I could. 00:12:13 Speaker 1: Say we're definitely gonna win. 00:12:16 Speaker 2: But I also don't think there's any games you can count this team out on. At Florida will be difficult, But the rest of them, why not If you keep playing like this and you keep playing hard, and then you get in the tournament and you see what the matchup is. Whatever the matchup is, if it's the right one, they'll have a chance to fight and be in it at the end. I'm nine two eighty seven. Ryan, we are about to get in the car and go to this Sports Illustrated party. I am exhausted by the way. I don't have these young guys. Mario, well, not Drew so much, but Mario and Billy we've drew and I have been like the parents having a babysit them. 00:12:54 Speaker 1: Over the course of the last forty eight hours. 00:12:57 Speaker 2: But I'm gonna let you handle it for the rest of the Uh and uh, congrats onto the BBN on a win and Ryan, UH, real fun evening. 00:13:06 Speaker 3: I gotta ask you one question. Apparently you've been quite the topic on a Tony Basilio show tonight. Any comment, Yeah, I. 00:13:13 Speaker 1: Listened to a little bit of it, you know. 00:13:16 Speaker 2: Good for him, listen. He uh, he said that I didn't have any talent. That's fine. I you know, luckily he's not in charge of deciding these things. The audience is in charge, and I think that those numbers speak for themselves. But I like it he gets worked up. I appreciate the passion. He did say he was going to uh kick Jimmy Dykes in the crotch. I think that's a little far. 00:13:40 Speaker 1: I don't think you should do that. 00:13:42 Speaker 3: I think or BBN because I get all these messages. All he said this about is KSR. He said is about Yeah. 00:13:48 Speaker 2: Listen, he's uh, that's fine. I got I got no problem with Tony. Go do your thing, Tony Vasilio and you all do your thing. Ryan, thank you for coming in. Enjoy the rest of the evening, and big shout out to Liam who's feeling in there, who's done a good job tonight as well. 00:14:03 Speaker 1: We'll take a break when we come back, Ry Livan, it will take your calls. 00:14:05 Speaker 2: Cats sweep the balls for the second year in row, five straight regular season wins versus Tennessee. 00:14:11 Speaker 1: This is the Local Toilet Dealers KSR postgame Show. 00:14:15 Speaker 3: Welcome back the Local Totaladers KSR. Post game show, the Cats a seventy four, seventy one winner over those stinking Tennessee volunteers. My goodness, when are we gonna learn not to give up on this team? Down by fourteen in the first half again, we you know, they were down by seventeen, down in Knoxville, came back to win, down sixteen in Arkansas, came back to win. Down fourteen to night, come back to win. It's the largest halftime deficit to come back for a win in UK and Lexington ever, not just Ropperina in the old Historic Memorial Cosseum. Ever, they've never been down by more than fourteen and come back and win the game. 00:14:51 Speaker 1: They did it tonight. 00:14:52 Speaker 3: But come on, lim they're gonna win the night. The ninety six teams there, they're wearing denim uniforms, are crying out loud, Pope's daughters dancing with the Day team. Of course they're gonna win the night, right. 00:15:02 Speaker 5: It was magic in the air tonight, Ryan, you could feel, especially when they came back in the second half. They slowly chipped and chipped away at the lead, and then eventually when they were able to take the lead again, I had faith they went down three points. It didn't feel like the end of the world. It really felt like this team was still ready there. I was confident even when they were down three late in the game. Like Matt said, just the heart and the effort and the fight in this team is really kind of come out of nowhere. You know, we're not that far away. When they started the SEC oh and two, now they've lost. Now they've won eight out of the next nine. They started oh and two, they've won eight of nine in the SEC. Amazing what they've been able to do. But they got a tough one, like Matt said, in some tough games coming up. Kind of got a bye week this week. They don't play during midweek, one week away to play Florida, and they just Florida just dismantled Texas A and M. Tonight at Texas A and M. It's gonna be tough going to Florida trying to win this game. But I like where we are. I like my chances, and I like my team. 00:15:57 Speaker 1: Now. 00:15:58 Speaker 3: I couldn't have said that about a month or so ago by my team. So phone nines are open eight five nine two A two two eight seven. We've already got a full banking callers. Right now, we're gonnaet thro as me as we can sol Who we got first? Liam, Jelly, Jelly, go ahead, Jelly. 00:16:11 Speaker 6: Hey Ryan, first time, one time? 00:16:13 Speaker 3: Appreciate it? 00:16:14 Speaker 1: All? 00:16:14 Speaker 3: Right, Well you got tonight. 00:16:16 Speaker 6: I think that I was the good luck for the game. I proposed to my now fiance today. She said yes, right before the game. 00:16:24 Speaker 3: Oh, Jelly, well done. 00:16:27 Speaker 1: How did you do it? 00:16:28 Speaker 3: And where did you do it? 00:16:30 Speaker 7: Uh? 00:16:30 Speaker 6: We we live in Cincinnati now, so right. We actually went to northern Kentucky for the proposal, but on an overlook over the skyline and it was great. Wow, watch the game one. 00:16:47 Speaker 3: Well, are you gonna give her a chance to say anything? 00:16:51 Speaker 6: Yeah? 00:16:51 Speaker 1: Here she is right now all we. 00:16:56 Speaker 3: Want to hear from you. You do accept the problem? So what's your name? His name is Jelly? Are you Peanut Butter? 00:17:02 Speaker 8: No, he's Kelly. 00:17:03 Speaker 9: I'm Leslie. 00:17:04 Speaker 3: Kelly. Well, congratulations Leslie. Uh, I guess you're a UK fan for life now? 00:17:12 Speaker 9: Yeah? 00:17:12 Speaker 10: Married in it? 00:17:13 Speaker 1: There we go. 00:17:13 Speaker 3: Well, congratulations, appreciate the phone call. 00:17:15 Speaker 1: So there we go. 00:17:16 Speaker 3: Lim what tonight you win the you beat comforted behind to beat your rival Tennessee and Jelly and Kelly and Peanut butter all got engaged today. 00:17:26 Speaker 5: Love is in the air. 00:17:27 Speaker 3: Love is in there. Valentine's Day's next weekend, Valentine' Days a week from today. Well played, Jelly, nice job? 00:17:33 Speaker 1: Right? 00:17:33 Speaker 3: Who we got next? 00:17:35 Speaker 1: Lee? Lee? 00:17:36 Speaker 3: Go ahead? 00:17:36 Speaker 1: Lee? 00:17:38 Speaker 11: Hey Ryan? 00:17:38 Speaker 8: What's up? 00:17:40 Speaker 3: What's up? 00:17:40 Speaker 1: Lee? 00:17:42 Speaker 6: Awson? 00:17:42 Speaker 3: Was that? 00:17:43 Speaker 12: Go cast? 00:17:45 Speaker 10: I love it? 00:17:46 Speaker 8: Uh Man kind of addressed a couple of things I was gonna say at first, and not being critical or nothing but everything. But I've been hearing y'all say the last week, the two weeks, I don't know if this team is good. I don't know. Well, I think you find out that the pretty dag gone good, and I think people will find out that Mark Pope is a pretty dag gone good coach. And what a he's done with this team with all his injuries is pretty dad gun remarkable and and I don't ever feel like we're out of a game. We're eight and three second in the league. 00:18:18 Speaker 13: I mean, what do you say? 00:18:20 Speaker 8: How do you feel about him? 00:18:21 Speaker 14: Now? 00:18:22 Speaker 3: Appreciated? Lee? You're absolutely right abou a couple of things. All the questions people were having about Mark Pope, people wanting him even gone after this year, gone right now, he's not the man for the job. We need to get rid of him. I hope they're reevaluating that right now, because what this man is able to do, not just this year, but two years in a row now, adjusting his roster, his style of play, the way they play because injuries just decimating some of his star players. It's been amazing. And what they've done this year. Yeah, the Gonzaga game was awful, the Vanderbilt game was awful, But you're right, they are another sitting here eight and three in the SEC have a legit shot to you know, get that first that in the SEC tournament, which is kind of what you want anyway. So I think Pope does deserve a lot of credit. What do you think, Liam? 00:19:06 Speaker 5: I had a lot of doubt at the beginning of the year. 00:19:08 Speaker 3: I think a lot of people did. 00:19:09 Speaker 5: But year one, Mark Pope accomplished what I wanted to see. We were tired of losing in the first weekend. We wanted to see the second weekend. 00:19:15 Speaker 3: We got to the static. 00:19:16 Speaker 5: You played a team three times, it's hard to beat them three times. I'd hate to play Tennessee in the tournament again this year because I'm not sure i'd be as confidence, but hey, we grinded out two wins in the regular season and we are where we're at right now, and just a lot of positive momentum right now building each week. The team has really just gelled. It's the energy the team totally. Everything was a total collapse at the beginning of the year. Nothing felt right, plugging triangles and circles. But now it just it feels like a well oiled machine. People are finding their roles, and I think that's the biggest part, the roles players have on this team. 00:19:46 Speaker 3: And to back up something else, Lee said. Mark Pope owns Tennessee. He's played them five times now, won four or five. Swept them in the regular season last year, swept them in the regular season this year. Of course, like you said, they did lose to them in the Swet's team, but Lamart Butler got hurt. Didn't even play that game. He got hurt like right before that game. So uh yeah, Mark Pope deserves a lot of credit. And I hope the people that were so anti Pope were coming back into the canoe a little bit. Who we got next, Dave, Dave, go ahead, Dave. 00:20:16 Speaker 13: How you doing. Fellows are you dave, no nothing that Gray just uppaur at the MC sweets and just got to watching the game. Went to the game and enjoyed it. It was great doing the best environments I've seen in college in the UK in a long time. 00:20:31 Speaker 3: Well, we mentioned that, you know how, there were no tickets available. Usually Matt and I get tickets to kind of give away to fans that they're not going, so they wanted to put them in the hands of somebody who can go. But even Jack Gibbans after the game, Tom Leech after the game, everybody's talking about the environment inside Ropperena was awesome. That's what makes Ropperina specially. It's a big game. It's rocking like nowhere else. 00:20:52 Speaker 13: It was really crazy. I mean, I've been to a lot of games with Billy Clyde and all of Rick and this strive towards the end there that that when everybody was yelling at the probably one of the loudest I's ever heard, and it was really really exciting. I don't have a lot of health issues, so I'm just glad that I could go there and enjoy this and love the cats and go and we're gonna go, So thanks for taking my call. 00:21:13 Speaker 3: Run appreciate it, Dave. Yeah, A lot of a lot of people that went to the game kind of talking about how the environment was just great. Like I said, Man, the ninety six teams there, one of the greatest teams in the history of college basketball. You're honoring that team. You're wearing denim uniforms. Of course, you wanted kind of a good crowd. You want that crowd to play a part in the game that night, and it did. Who got next, Claire, Claire? Go ahead, Claire, Hi, Ryan, first time? 00:21:38 Speaker 15: Long time? 00:21:39 Speaker 3: All right, Claire, bring it tonight? What do you got for us? 00:21:43 Speaker 7: So? I was born and raised an Ohio State fan, but my fiance converted me to a wild Cat. 00:21:51 Speaker 12: And I have two questions for you. 00:21:53 Speaker 3: All right. 00:21:53 Speaker 10: Well, you were his landlord at one point when he was in Lexington. 00:21:58 Speaker 14: No sweet to ask you, what is your favorite wild eggs menu item? 00:22:04 Speaker 16: Uh? 00:22:05 Speaker 3: The wild eggs menu at him is the breakfast tots. It's the potato head castro. But they cut it up into like little tots. And it's not only even think it's on the menu. You got to ask for it. Breakfast Tots, that's what. 00:22:15 Speaker 14: You want to get Okay, so I'll try that the next time we are in Lexington. 00:22:20 Speaker 11: All right, My next question for you is do you think Colin is going. 00:22:26 Speaker 14: To be our star the remainder of the season. 00:22:30 Speaker 3: Okay, I'll answer that question, but don't hut before you hang up. What's your husband's name? 00:22:33 Speaker 16: If I was his landlord and his name is Dave Holmes. 00:22:38 Speaker 1: Dave Holmes. 00:22:41 Speaker 10: Yes, he has a die hard Kentucky fan. 00:22:44 Speaker 3: Well, we appreciate you, Colin, and it's a good luck in your marriage. You said you're engaged, so good luck. All right, Colin Chandler, the man has become mister clutch. We know, we've talked at nausey about it. You know, he made the pass at Lsu to Malachot, hit the shot, He made the still against Tennessee and then dribbled to dribbled and found a way for the layup. He hit the big shot against Arkansas. He hit a big shot tonight. He has become our go to mister clutch guy. But yet he stepped to the free throw line the night to put the game away and he missed the free throw a free throw shooter and he missed it. Thank goodness. Mohammed Diabate got the rebound. Aberdeen then hit two free throws to put the game away. But I mean, Colin's a guy I think that struggled early, lost a little confidence, and now he's got as much confidence as anybody. He's a he's a killer out there right now. 00:23:35 Speaker 5: Yeah, Goose said at the end of the when he missed the free throws, he's gonna have to have some words with Colin because he already put two down on the scorecard. 00:23:42 Speaker 3: Well, yeah, he's ninety percent. You think, Okay, this is this is who we want at the foul line. It's Colin Chandler. But yeah, he's become a superstar. And one guy we haven't mentioned yet provided a great spark was Jasper Johnson. Came in, made a three, made a tough shot, made a couple of great passes, stuck, He's dove on the floor a couple of times after loose balls. He provided a spark in that first half when Tennessee was like starting to run away with the basketball game. 00:24:08 Speaker 5: That's what I'm meant talking about when I feel like these guys are finding their roles. Last couple of weeks, him and Garrison are really finding a spot on the team. They're not the star player, but they're stepping up and making big time plays in big time moments, the little things, diving on the floor, you hit a bucket here and there, don't let the lead get out of hand. You keep chipping away, chipping away by making the little plays. Rome wasn't building to day, you know. Brick by brick Ryan. 00:24:29 Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, philosophy by Liam Tomlinson. Right here. Who we got next? Badger, Badger, go ahead, badger, guys. 00:24:37 Speaker 4: How's it going to come in? 00:24:40 Speaker 10: Dude? 00:24:40 Speaker 4: I mean awesome, awesome after this, right four and one against Tennessee under Pope. It's always a great day when you beat them, and especially Chris often being in the building and that's that's my old Mason County classmate, Love you, bro. But everybody that played tonight can atributed to the team. 00:25:01 Speaker 7: It was a. 00:25:02 Speaker 4: Complete gritty team win. Of course, we got out rebounded. We had I think we had a big fu disparity at one point too. I think it closed the gap. But you know, Noah came in and actually, you know, he rebounded. He didn't hit a shot, he rebounded, he played actually really good on ball defense. Everyone contributed we rebounded when we had to, when we had to get a stop, we got to stop, we got a block, and that was just a complete, complete victory. Go Big Blue, Go Cats. Cast by ninety Love my team, Love my I appreciate it, Badger. 00:25:42 Speaker 3: I think there's a lot of teams are like that. Maybe we're a little doubting this team. Now we're falling in love with this team because of the heart and the fight coming from behind and all these wins. Of course you're going to fall in love with this team. So a great night to be Downtown. Lexton, by the way, was rocking. It took me a little while to get here because man, here, cars and people walking everywhere, because everybody stayed to the very end of the game. No nobody wanted to leave that game to see how it's gonna end up. So I hope everybody's partying safely tonight, because here we are at one o'clock in the morning and it's still crowded and crazy outside. All right, we'll take our take a break, we'll come back. We'll go back to the phone line. Eight five nine two eight zho two to eight seven. It's eight five nine two eight O Cats, Ryan and Liam here on the local third leaders KSR postgame show. The Cats a winner seventy four seventy one over Tennessee over at ropp Arena after being down fourteen points at halftime. What an amazing, amazing, amazing comfort behind win again for this Kentucky Wildcat basketball team. They've now won eight of their last nine SEC games, which just blows my mind, and are now eight and three over all in the conference. Now there was another comfort behind win tonight, Liam and I were sitting here watching it. North Carolina came from behind on their home floor and Seth tremble hits the last second shot. 00:26:51 Speaker 1: To beat Duke. 00:26:53 Speaker 3: Then the North Carolina fans stormed the court. Now we would UK fans, I think are ingrained from the time born. You never ever ever stormed the court at Reparena. 00:27:04 Speaker 1: You just don't do it. 00:27:07 Speaker 3: North Carolina. The Dean Dome is kind of in that category in that conversation at least, and the fans stormed the court like crazy when they hit that last Second's how to be due. So I guess the spontaneity of it I can kind of see. But still even if, like Colin Chandler, if let's just say that shoddy hit was the last second shot and they came from behind to beat Tennessee tonight. Kentucky fans still would not have stormed the court, would they. 00:27:32 Speaker 5: I don't think in my lifetime and your whole lifetime, this court has ever been stormed. 00:27:37 Speaker 1: Never. 00:27:38 Speaker 3: Never, not in Kentucky, not at UK. 00:27:41 Speaker 5: I go to jail for like a year here for that. 00:27:43 Speaker 3: Now we do it at Kroger Field. You know that's a little different. You just don't do it Ruppery. You're expected to win every game, and I think at the Dean Dome you're expected to win even when it's Duke on the other side. 00:27:56 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean that it's exciting, the moment's exciting. You should be hugging everybody around you, be like a mosh pit in the crowd. But getting onto the court, I mean, I get the emotions get to you. 00:28:04 Speaker 3: I've been. 00:28:05 Speaker 5: I was at West Virginia when they defeated Kansas. That's a place where you storm the court. 00:28:08 Speaker 3: Sure, yeah, most places you do. 00:28:10 Speaker 5: It's a top ten matchup. 00:28:12 Speaker 1: Now. 00:28:13 Speaker 3: The crazy thing is they had to get everybody off the court and put zero point four seconds back on the clock to finish the game. You give Duke one last chance, and then they stormed the court a second time, so he's actually stormed it twice to night. So I don't know. I just don't think the Dean Dome and Rupp Arena and Cameron Indoor, Uh, the Kansas Arena, you just don't do it there. You're expected to win those games. 00:28:39 Speaker 5: They're called blue bloods for a reason. I don't think even Yukon the new Blood. I don't think they're storming the court. 00:28:44 Speaker 3: You're right, You're right, You're expected to win, all right? Eight five nine two eight seven, The lineups, more phone calls. Who we got, Liam, Darlene, Darlene, go ahead, Darlene. 00:28:56 Speaker 17: Hi, guys, I mean it's coming the meals and I but I'm so pumped about the game, can't go to see Big UK fan Harlan County. Proud Trent Noah and just happy to be a part of something so special, Kentucky beating Tennessee again a sweep. 00:29:17 Speaker 18: I love it. 00:29:19 Speaker 3: There's something about Tennessee that Trent Noah likes. Because Trent has played well in both games this year against Tennessee. 00:29:26 Speaker 17: Yeah, and I mean, I mean, we have some great players, but I'll be honest with you. I was having tears at one one because we were behind one. I wanted that game so bad and celebrating just in the middle of the night, celebrating with you guys, such a special knight. 00:29:45 Speaker 3: Thank you all right, Darling, I appreciate the phone call. Stay up all night with us? Why don't you? Why not? Because a Kentucky another comfort behind when Now you know you got to think every game now, when they get down, you can't give up on them, like our boy Andy. Everybody knows Andy are called a KSR. He gave up at halftime and actually fell as went to sleep. He woke up after the game to find out there once Andy, think you learned a lesson to night, pal. You got to stay up the whole game with this basketball team. Who we got next, Terry in Shepherdsville, Terry and Shepherdsville go ahead, Terry. 00:30:18 Speaker 11: Yeah, guys, I. 00:30:20 Speaker 18: Know something that may have got lost at the last of the game with Chandler's three. That pass by oh Way was unbelievable. I mean it seemed like he was kind of caught up. If you've ever played the game, you get caught, you jump and you don't know what you're going to do and he throws that pass out there, just great, great pass by a way, of course, i'd Chandler had to make a shot, and like everybody else, I was shocked that Chandler missed the free throw. The dia Bot day with with the rebound and then in Aberdeen money at the line, just a great, great win. I know, I'm glad we got the week off going down to Florida. That's gonna really be tough. So I hope the fans understand that's gonna be almost an impossible game to win down there at Florida. But we uh, just just a great gut check by the guys night and I'll hang up and listen, all. 00:31:29 Speaker 3: Right, appreciate it. Terry, Yeah, we did talk about that pass, and it was just an amazing past that. You know, we kind of kind of got caught up and no man's own and no man laying down neath the basket, and it's almost like he had a backhand, two handed pass out to find Chandler out there. So Terry's right. Chandler hit the shot, but that pass was just as important. And then the most offensive rebound after Chandler missed the free throw, I mean he was on the left side of the lane, got the rebound on the right side of the lane. That's just that's just drinking the water juice. That's just fighting heart, right, they're going after it. Got it to Aberdeen who got fouled and hits the two free throw shots. So absolutely, but it is gonna be tough going down to Florida next week. Florida just dismantled Texas A and M to night at A and M. It's gonna be tough. It's one of those games ride pencil before the season that's in loss, you know, but you got a week to get ready for them, so you never know, Liam, you never know. 00:32:18 Speaker 5: Every game in the SEC is tough. And we should celebrate this win against Tennessee tonight because you're a special We're all looking ahead a little bit. You're right, every game's tough. You can't overlook Georgia after Florida, you can't overlook Auburn. Auburn's been having a great season. Yeah, if we we're on fire right now, we're a hot team. If you play against anybody in the country right now, We're gonna battle and fight it out. We're doing the little things right, We're winning these close games. We're winning these rock fights that everyone's saying. Right now, this team. I really like where this team is at. As some coach would say, we're peeking at the right time. I just love the energy these guys have, Like it all just felt so discombobulated and that was the issue. But it really you can feel the camaraderie with the team, and so the energy is just contagious. It's like I would did not have a doubt when they were down sixty five sixty two today and then you get the morenos hook shot that was to make it sixty seven sixty six, but they made it. It was a Garrison put back to make it sixty five sixty four. It just felt like they weren't out of it, at least in my opinion. I viewed this team so much differently today than I have earlier in the season, and I just had so much more confidence in them. I don't know where it's coming from. I mean, it's because the results are proving themselves. 00:33:22 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:33:23 Speaker 3: Well, defense, they played so well the second half. They limited Tennessee to six of thirty shooting. They took thirty shots and only hit six in the second half. That's because of the job to Channel was doing it on Aiment and the job that Olway was doing on Gillespie. They had zero three pointers in the second half. They had eight in the first half. Tennessee did zero in the second half. That's because the defense and the changes in the adjustments they made at halftime. All Right, who's next, Jerry Jerry, Go ahead, Jerry, Jerry, Dustin Dustin. Let's try Dustin. Now you there, Dustin, yeah, Ron, all right, let's go Dustin. 00:34:07 Speaker 11: Yeah. 00:34:07 Speaker 15: I We came down here from Kentucky for my little brother's birthday, and we're in Knoxville, and we went to Market Square to a sportsbar to watch the game. And I'm telling you, when Colin Chandler hit that three, You've never heard a more silent sports bar. It was so awesome to watch him. Tennessee fans after chirping the whole game, being up fourteen at halftime, it was so awesome that I just you can't say anything more about Colin Chandler, like he's so clutch. It was fantastic. 00:34:41 Speaker 3: Well, we appreciate. Just be careful when you're leaving because the women might chewt to back a spit and spin it on your shoes. You're walking out of there, so just be be careful. You're down walking around in Knoxville. Eight two two eight seven. Colin Chandler, Yes, he is the He's mister Clutch right now, out of all the guys on the team, always maybe the best offensive player. But if I need one guy to shoot a bucket and then we need a bucket, it's him. He's a guy I wanted with ball in his hands. 00:35:06 Speaker 5: Tom Leach was calling him Captain Clutch today. 00:35:08 Speaker 3: Oh, is that his new nickname? Captain Clutch? It might be found out. Matt said on the pregame show that Colin Chandler lives is living in Matt's old apartment. Maybe there something for that apartment, little mojo that Matt left over there for him, the old apartment, Matt's old apartment. Yeah, Naked Ladies? 00:35:28 Speaker 4: Is that? 00:35:28 Speaker 3: Is that a bar Naked Lady's song? 00:35:29 Speaker 1: Yeah? 00:35:30 Speaker 3: I didn't know that. Bear Naked Ladies also has the theme song for Big Bang Theory, and I found out that out this week. All right, let's get one more than we take a break? 00:35:40 Speaker 5: Who we got bones? 00:35:42 Speaker 3: Bones, go ahead, bones. 00:35:45 Speaker 11: Man, let me tell you catchy clutch is a killer, first of all, and second of all, I just want to put it out here on the radio. I work with the Tennessee fan and he has been talking trash all week, and I want to say, who is Joe. 00:36:01 Speaker 3: Dad d Mark Post is their daddy. 00:36:05 Speaker 11: That's right, Mark Post his daddy. And Catchy Cuts is the captain of the ship. It go cats, baby, all right? 00:36:12 Speaker 3: Appreciated bones. Yeah, Mark Pope owns Rick Barnes and Tennessee, Tennessee beating them four out of five times. Probably face him again in the SEC tournament, maybe the NCAA tournament. Bring it on. You know, you look at it on paper, it's not a great matchup for us because, like, who's really gonna guard Nate Ament Going into the game we had you know that that question came up. You know, he dude is six', ten six. Eleven we have nobody that can guard. Him Yet Colin chandler somehow found a way to disrupt him and make him a little uncomfortable where he had a bad, well he had ten, points but it wasn't like he had the first. 00:36:48 Speaker 1: Half he was. 00:36:48 Speaker 3: Hit he was hitting everything in the first. Half we got time for one more before we take a, BREAK. TJ, tj go, AHEAD, Tj. 00:36:57 Speaker 6: Hey, ron how you, doing? 00:36:59 Speaker 7: Buddy all? 00:36:59 Speaker 1: Right how are you? 00:37:01 Speaker 17: Good? 00:37:02 Speaker 1: Man? 00:37:02 Speaker 9: Hey, LOOK i just want to say this real. WIN i can see like the students of the eruption zone just kind of spontaneously spilling on the. Court although that's probably a big no, no nobody else should do, it BUT i CAN i can kind of see it happening in that. Situation it's just something that shouldn't be done At Rupp. 00:39:41 Speaker 5: Arena, yeah the setup AT rup makes it a lot more difficult to storm the, court SO i think that's TRUE a little bit. 00:39:46 Speaker 1: Too that's. 00:39:46 Speaker 3: True you gotta climb over some of those folks to sit there in the big in the expensive seats on the front. YOU i told. 00:42:46 Speaker 5: YOU i felt good when they were down sixty five sixty. TWO i felt like a weird sense of this team's gonna pull it. Out this has just felt. Different we're at. Home we've been clamping the clamping them up the whole second. Half we held them to what twenty four second half. POINTS i, mean water always finds its. Level in my, opinion you can't keep shooting that that hot the way you were in the first. HALF i was kind of worried though With kentucky in the first half they weren't making free. Throws but they just kind of locked. In and this, team this, team it's we're having fun right. 00:43:12 Speaker 1: Now. 00:43:12 Speaker 5: Ryan this is a fun. Win it's a fun. Night i'm excited for Next saturday Against. Florida we got beat up a little bit. Tonight you're playing, big big teams down. Low rest up because you got more you gotta face next week Against, florida you. 00:43:24 Speaker 3: Know but good for you because now you made some money on the. Game then also a little extra money in your pocket for coming all the way down here to do the show For Valentine's. Day For Valentine's, day you did mention free throws if there was one. Negative, Tonight kentucky was only thirteen of twenty two from the free throw, line AND i think didn't they miss like their first? Five they missed like their first four or five free throws to start the. Game thirteen of twenty. Two got to clean that. Up you, know you pull it out, tonight but you got to clean that, up especially with these tough games coming. Up all, right who we got? 00:43:52 Speaker 5: Next john? 00:43:53 Speaker 3: Two john, Two go, Ahead john. 00:43:55 Speaker 12: Two Thanks, roan thanks for taking my. Call it's always a good night when you Beat. Tennessee matt shared the link earlier on The tennessee post game. Show that was some of the funniest Stuff i've ever. Heard all they could talk about WAS, ksr which was. Great it's all rent. Free nate ament tonight was awesome in the first, half second half not as, much but well that Replaced Chris lofton is the best performance ever In reperino for. 00:44:22 Speaker 3: You no comment on. THAT i got me in trouble one time when they mistook something THAT i was trying to, Say But nate ament the first half was he was the best player in the. Country he was. Awesome he could not. Miss AND i saw the second half of his. GAME i forget who they were playing, now but he had like twenty four points in the second half of his last. Game so the dude is definitely one of the top players in the country and he's just a. Freshman But Colin chandler totally did the job on even in the second. Half what else you, got he. 00:44:55 Speaker 12: Really Did And i'm actually rewatching the second half AND i just saw his last shot with six seconds left and missed the kind of end of the, game and uh, yeah, overall just you, know what a comeback this. Team you can never kind of count them. Out you, know it's it's been. Awesome but you, know When chandler got the ball and you kind of knew what was going. In he's that sharp. Shooter and you, KNOW i think his new nickname should be the Super. SOAKER i think he's. 00:45:19 Speaker 3: Great appreciate, It john. Two, yeah you know the nicknames will start coming. Now you, know everybody wants to rename this team the Comeback. Cats we've already had comeback, cats that's the ninety. Eighteen but there'll be enough for. Suggestions we'll maybe figure one. Out all, right who's? 00:45:33 Speaker 1: Next? Nick? 00:45:36 Speaker 3: Nick go? Ahead? 00:45:37 Speaker 7: Nick, Hey, ryan nothing sucks like a Big orangers That colors rout And Colin. Chandler if he'd made that free throw at the, end he'd have hit my, parlay but he didn't. It, yeah it's one of those. Nuts but, hey these cats are onto. SOMETHING i forget what they've? Won how so many games out of film any but they are onto. Something credit To Mark. Pope let's go beat those nasty gators down in the. 00:46:07 Speaker 3: Swamp there we, Go, nick appreciate. It, yeah they've they've. Won tucky's won eight of their last. 00:46:11 Speaker 1: Nine. 00:46:12 Speaker 3: Uh the guy mentioned, about you know the free throws at the. End that over UNDER i think was a one forty six and a half and it ended one forty. Five how do they do? This how are they so on top of? It how can they name an over under on a game two days before it's they even play, it and then it's almost exactly to that number every single? Time how do they do? 00:46:34 Speaker 7: It? 00:46:35 Speaker 5: Well they have those towers for a. REASON i guess these. Analytics i'm not a big analytic. GUY i, Mean i'm an analytic. GUY i believe in analytics in a. Way but they they have all these numbers they're. Crunching it's they just. Know they've been doing it so. Long it's. 00:46:45 Speaker 3: INSANE i thought for sure it'd be, over SO i bet the. Over, nope it was the. Under all, right take another phone. 00:46:52 Speaker 1: Call who we, Got? 00:46:53 Speaker 3: Chase? Chase go, Ahead? Chase uh, Hey, chase it's our golfer From Lindsey Wilson. College, uh Just. 00:47:05 Speaker 19: Temple light not thoughts? Here Well Colin chandler Or elway make a beer shot and THEN claa tournament or well didn't Sell aberdeen next week have revenge game at Ford on in his. Mind and there's nothing like meeting The tennessee volunteers and meeting them twice in the same. 00:47:28 Speaker 3: Season Apprestiated. CHASE i hadn't thought about. That aberdeen going back to his Old stompton around Next saturday At. Florida you, see those games don't ever work. Out usually the player doesn't have a very good game because he presses too. Much you, Know diabote didn't have his greatest game Against alabama they just don't seem to play that. Well AND i say, that but yet whatever, Reason otaka away seems to thrive Against.
