<v Speaker 1>Welcome to the WWE Podcast, the most passionate and authentic
<v Speaker 1>wrestling analysis on the web. We've got you covered with
<v Speaker 1>every Raw, SmackDown, and NXT show, giving you a no
<v Speaker 1>bullk and opinion. We know you love wrestling. We do too,
<v Speaker 1>So let's get this show underway.
<v Speaker 2>And that's the bottom line.
<v Speaker 3>What stone don't steps out?
<v Speaker 4>All right, guys, Welcome to the WWE Podcast on this Sunday,
<v Speaker 4>August sixteenth, twoenty twenty. In my, oh, Mai, we are
<v Speaker 4>a week away from Summer Slam.
<v Speaker 2>That crept up on us, didn't it.
<v Speaker 4>I was on the show today, I was like, Oh,
<v Speaker 4>Summer simmers like two three weeks?
<v Speaker 2>Whit?
<v Speaker 4>No Slam is a week away and it's crazy. And
<v Speaker 4>rumors are that WWE may not be having in the
<v Speaker 4>performance Center. And if that's true, Ali lujah, I don't
<v Speaker 4>know how many more sit as I can take in
<v Speaker 4>the same setting. Not their fault, but it's just from
<v Speaker 4>an aesthetic standpoint. Please let's change it up and hopefully
<v Speaker 4>they are able to do that. So SummerSlam is a
<v Speaker 4>week from today. It's gonna be a big, big show
<v Speaker 4>and in a lot of in a lot of ways,
<v Speaker 4>and Michael and I tonight break this down. You even
<v Speaker 4>get to hear early predictions from myself and Michael at
<v Speaker 4>the end of the show. So if you like long
<v Speaker 4>form audio, I know a lot of you do, this
<v Speaker 4>is gonna be a good show for you because we
<v Speaker 4>get our predictions at the end and if you want
<v Speaker 4>to skip to the end, I guess you could, but
<v Speaker 4>you can miss a lot of a lot of great content,
<v Speaker 4>and we dive into everything that happened in WWE. Even
<v Speaker 4>went off topic, as happens whenever I talk to anybody,
<v Speaker 4>you just go into the weeds about something, and we
<v Speaker 4>certainly did that, but brought ourselves back and we're able
<v Speaker 4>to round out this week in WWE that was eventful,
<v Speaker 4>eventful in a lot of ways. New storylines that are
<v Speaker 4>progressing with Retribution, Raw Underground, if OSCA can win both
<v Speaker 4>the SmackDown and Raw Champion Women's Championships, And by the way,
<v Speaker 4>how the hell was Oscar on SmackDown? Was that ever explained? Nope,
<v Speaker 4>But we move on and I actually vent about that
<v Speaker 4>a little, So there's a lot to cover tonight. And again, guys,
<v Speaker 4>if you enjoy YouTube wrestling, and I know I do too,
<v Speaker 4>I have the network, but YouTube sometimes fills my fills
<v Speaker 4>me up a little bit better than the network because
<v Speaker 4>you can just search for any random thing and.
<v Speaker 2>It's usually there. Check out the Batch Guy.
<v Speaker 4>He's on YouTube. And I say that because him and
<v Speaker 4>I are going to do a co show for the
<v Speaker 4>summer SummerSlam review. I'll be recording the audio, well he
<v Speaker 4>records the video, and we will be doing a dual
<v Speaker 4>review for SummerSlam, kind of a cross brand review if
<v Speaker 4>you will. So check out the Batch Guy on YouTube.
<v Speaker 4>Him and I will be we will be conversing for
<v Speaker 4>SummerSlam and it's going to be a blast. There's going
<v Speaker 4>to be a ton to talk about, So really looking
<v Speaker 4>forward to that with the Botch Guy and that's gonna
<v Speaker 4>be fun. So also follow me on Instagram at WWE
<v Speaker 4>Underscore Podcast. That's where we're at. We're not on Facebook
<v Speaker 4>or Twitter because of just honestly, I don't know I'm
<v Speaker 4>going and want to get into it. But you can
<v Speaker 4>also email the show at Real WWE Podcast at gmail
<v Speaker 4>dot com if you have a comment, a question, a suggestion,
<v Speaker 4>or you want to leave a voicemail. There's also a
<v Speaker 4>way to do that. If you want to leave a voicemail,
<v Speaker 4>you can do so by calling five one eight nine
<v Speaker 4>five two zero two four seven five one eight nine
<v Speaker 4>five to two zero two four seven. Leave a voicemail
<v Speaker 4>can be up to minute, maybe two at the most,
<v Speaker 4>and rant whatever you like. Try to keep it PG
<v Speaker 4>and we'll get.
<v Speaker 2>You on the show.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm gonna bring on a listener right now, all
<v Speaker 4>the way from Switzerland that sent me a voicemail via email. Actually,
<v Speaker 4>so let's take a listen and I'll respond.
<v Speaker 5>Hey, mister WWE podcast. My name is Chris and from Switzerland.
<v Speaker 5>I born in Germany. My dad is an American and he
<v Speaker 5>made me a little wrestling fan. Until today, I have
<v Speaker 5>watching wrestling beginning and the ninety ninety four I guess
<v Speaker 5>it was a match between the hot Cogan and much
<v Speaker 5>of and Ronney Savage. But it's many years ago, but
<v Speaker 5>I'm still there and I still refuse a bit to
<v Speaker 5>watch too much wrestling. I don't watch AW or NXT
<v Speaker 5>a lot because I don't want to be too full
<v Speaker 5>with it and watch too much of wrestling, and so
<v Speaker 5>I keep it for WWE because I was a fan
<v Speaker 5>from the beginning of my fam being and I have
<v Speaker 5>some thoughts until for today. Maybe the women and the men.
<v Speaker 5>I mean now there are more like idi, why cannot
<v Speaker 5>be the star lines between them? We don't have very
<v Speaker 5>much star lines between the men and the women and involved,
<v Speaker 5>and it's still too much separate. And I don't like
<v Speaker 5>that because okay, we have the women's evolution, and why
<v Speaker 5>we don't go the next step? Because these times we
<v Speaker 5>have chances, like you said in many podcasts before, to
<v Speaker 5>try things, to do something different, and why not mix
<v Speaker 5>them up. I don't speak about mixed tech team matches
<v Speaker 5>all the way now, I mean in general, the story
<v Speaker 5>lines between men and women can also be in many ways.
<v Speaker 5>And yeah, what do you feel your thoughts about that?
<v Speaker 5>And about you thought that Edge should be should get
<v Speaker 5>this last match against Ran Jordan and WrestleMania and then retire. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>it's one way I agree with you. It's because of
<v Speaker 5>his shape or of his body. He should enjoy it
<v Speaker 5>and go to the sunset like that and be happy.
<v Speaker 5>And he don't have to be like the Undertaker to
<v Speaker 5>make his body like a living hell and wait until
<v Speaker 5>it's going no more. And yeah, and stop much before
<v Speaker 5>of that, because he's much heavier, much more healthy as
<v Speaker 5>the anotary Gearer is now and I don't think he
<v Speaker 5>should have his last match. I wish still a man
<v Speaker 5>between him and aj Styles because Aj Styles is also,
<v Speaker 5>I guess, in his last prime and these two are
<v Speaker 5>two absolute icons and they can tear the house down
<v Speaker 5>one last time and maybe both retire because Ah Styles
<v Speaker 5>also said he will not assign a new contract at
<v Speaker 5>WW and after it's done, it's done, and that's why
<v Speaker 5>I think this should be his last match against him,
<v Speaker 5>like a new Icon versus Icon or Phenomenal against Radidar
<v Speaker 5>or something like that. I wish you all the best
<v Speaker 5>and thank you very much for your show, and I
<v Speaker 5>very appreciate every time, and I like everyone you co
<v Speaker 5>hosts if it's Anthony if it's very greater or and
<v Speaker 5>Ashley Mann and.
<v Speaker 3>Stay high.
<v Speaker 5>Fiendus time and best regards from Switzerland and here and
<v Speaker 5>talk to you soon. Take care behind.
<v Speaker 4>Hey, Chris, so thanks so much for taking the time
<v Speaker 4>to send your audio and your thoughts and for being
<v Speaker 4>a listener. And boy, I don't think I've ever gotten
<v Speaker 4>a voicemail from anyone in Switzerland. That is certainly a record,
<v Speaker 4>So congratulations for whatever that's worth. Thanks for Frank, Thank
<v Speaker 4>you so much for listening and I'll share the compliments
<v Speaker 4>with my team of co hosts that the show wouldn't
<v Speaker 4>be what it is without them.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, let's just be honest. So they are.
<v Speaker 4>There's certainly an asset to have all of them. So
<v Speaker 4>let me go through the points you made quickly. So
<v Speaker 4>the men and women, Yeah, why don't they have those matches?
<v Speaker 4>Two things? Number one sponsors and public perception, right, that
<v Speaker 4>is the number one thing. You can't have men versus
<v Speaker 4>women matches because the public will not accept it at
<v Speaker 4>this day and age. This is not unfortunately, you know,
<v Speaker 4>it's not the nineties anymore, early two thousands, where it
<v Speaker 4>was just kind of generally accepted that matches like that
<v Speaker 4>can happen, and seeing men and woman violence was acceptable
<v Speaker 4>in entertainment form. Now it's not. I mean, look at
<v Speaker 4>the world we live in. My god, you'd have riots
<v Speaker 4>and ww headquarters if that happened. And yeah, there's occasional
<v Speaker 4>men retaliation on a man retaliating against a woman. Some
<v Speaker 4>of the most notable recent events are Bronze Trowman this
<v Speaker 4>past week on SmackDown, slamming Alexa Bliss, but that was
<v Speaker 4>after she slapped him multiple times. We had Nia Jacks
<v Speaker 4>get Rkaode and super kicked by I think it was
<v Speaker 4>Ziggler or somebody at the World Rumble two years ago.
<v Speaker 4>You know, it does happen occasionally, it's not very often,
<v Speaker 4>but men and women matches won't happen because of public perception.
<v Speaker 4>Number one and number two, it's not realistic. I mean,
<v Speaker 4>it's just not. It's not being sexist to say that
<v Speaker 4>men are biologically more that are biologically stronger than women,
<v Speaker 4>and are typically fa faster than women. It's just a science.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, like, it's not realistic to have men versus women.
<v Speaker 2>It's just not.
<v Speaker 4>But that's not to say I'm not in favor of
<v Speaker 4>men being able to retaliate against women that physically assault them.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, it's it's self defense. So that's that second
<v Speaker 4>point you made about Edge retiring at WrestleMania this next
<v Speaker 4>this coming year at WrestleMania thirty seven against Randy Orton
<v Speaker 4>and what is supposedly going to be an I quit match.
<v Speaker 4>So that is what is proposed apparently from WWE Creative
<v Speaker 4>for this coming year's WrestleMania. I'm not advocating for that
<v Speaker 4>to be edges last match. I could see where some
<v Speaker 4>people feel like it could be. And actually, Cody Churchill,
<v Speaker 4>one of our newest contributors on the on the website,
<v Speaker 4>if you want to check out his article, check it
<v Speaker 4>out on the opinions page of why he feels that
<v Speaker 4>this should be Edge's final match. But I, personally, I don't.
<v Speaker 4>I think he's got other rivalries in him. Just as
<v Speaker 4>you mentioned to your third point about AJ Styles versus Edge, Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I mean Edge has mentioned him by name that he
<v Speaker 4>would like to work with him. You know, he didn't
<v Speaker 4>just come back for one guy. He came back for
<v Speaker 4>the field of guys that he would like to work with,
<v Speaker 4>and AJ Styles was mentioned by name, Seth Rollins was
<v Speaker 4>mentioned by name. How can he not work with these guys? Absolutely?
<v Speaker 4>If I is gonna do this, Yeah, Randy Orton's a great,
<v Speaker 4>great program, But after that, I could see him moving
<v Speaker 4>on to Seth or Aj or maybe somebody we're not
<v Speaker 4>even thinking of. So, yes, Edge has more gas left
<v Speaker 4>in the tank for more than just Randy Orton after
<v Speaker 4>this program is concluded. All right, Well, that wraps up
<v Speaker 4>our introductory portion of the show. Going through some housekeeping
<v Speaker 4>stuff in the voicemail or voicemails. If we get multiple
<v Speaker 4>we will put them on, but you're you're more than
<v Speaker 4>welcome if you're listening to the show to come in
<v Speaker 4>and share, just as is as Chris did from Switzerland
<v Speaker 4>or anywhere that you may be hit us up at
<v Speaker 4>Real WWE Podcast at gmail dot com, or you can
<v Speaker 4>again send us a voicemail via your phone to our
<v Speaker 4>voicemail box, which is at as I pulled this up here,
<v Speaker 4>make sure I got it five one eight nine to
<v Speaker 4>five two zero two four seven.
<v Speaker 2>So all right, let's get to it.
<v Speaker 4>Michael Grosser myself discussing all the things in this week
<v Speaker 4>in WWE and again our early predictions. And I say
<v Speaker 4>early because a week of programming can change things. For
<v Speaker 4>WWE SummerSlam. You'll never see it coming. We even dive
<v Speaker 4>into that. By the way, there's there's something I think
<v Speaker 4>more to that than just a cute little slogan. But
<v Speaker 4>all right, I'm stalling. Let's get to it, Michael Grosser myself,
<v Speaker 4>Summer Slam. I'll be back on Tuesday with your raw
<v Speaker 4>review and then a full week including a new show
<v Speaker 4>debuting from Anthony de Marco this Friday, the twenty first,
<v Speaker 4>covering past rivalries in WWE. So get ready for that.
<v Speaker 4>All right, guys, thanks for listening.
<v Speaker 2>I'll talk to you soon.
<v Speaker 4>Already, it is Sunday night, which means it is your
<v Speaker 4>weekend review tonight. I've got Michael Gross with me for
<v Speaker 4>a very special show because we have a week until
<v Speaker 4>Summer Slam, which means things are heating up quickly. WWE
<v Speaker 4>is moving to possibly a new venue. We'll talk about that.
<v Speaker 4>We have a lot of different things moving right now.
<v Speaker 4>We have Randy Orton attacking Rick Flair. I mean, I
<v Speaker 4>don't know who saw that coming. I'll raise my hand,
<v Speaker 4>but I'm not going to toot my own horn. We
<v Speaker 4>have Oscar challenging for two championships, explaining to me how
<v Speaker 4>that happened. We have Zelena Vega in a great match
<v Speaker 4>seth Rollins lashing on dominic. There's tons of stuff to
<v Speaker 4>talk about ICW and evolved on the WW network. So
<v Speaker 4>we've got a ton of stuff. But first, I'd like
<v Speaker 4>to give my my co host here a moment to
<v Speaker 4>say hello and let everyone know how he's doing.
<v Speaker 3>Hello, ladies and gentlemen, this is the Gardener, Michael Gross.
<v Speaker 3>And I've missed all of my listeners, and I've listened.
<v Speaker 3>I missed all of you guys. And this is a
<v Speaker 3>really special podcast for me today because I won't be
<v Speaker 3>on for this show for at least a month. I
<v Speaker 3>work at Churchill Downs. We've got the Kentucky Derby coming
<v Speaker 3>up and it's really important and it's going to consume
<v Speaker 3>a lot of my time. So it's night. I really
<v Speaker 3>want to put a lot of my focus and energy
<v Speaker 3>into today's show and talk about everything that's going on
<v Speaker 3>going into SummerSlam.
<v Speaker 4>Well well said, and yeah, it's the Kentucky Derby, as
<v Speaker 4>we were talking off the air, is more than just
<v Speaker 4>five minutes of a race, as you said, it is
<v Speaker 4>certainly many days of long days, and so yeah, absolutely,
<v Speaker 4>you're gonna need the time. You're gonna need to to
<v Speaker 4>focus on that. But I'm sure you'll come back with
<v Speaker 4>a bang and we'll be looking forward to it whenever
<v Speaker 4>you're ready to go. So let's dive in, though, I mean,
<v Speaker 4>summer stime is a week away, and we we have
<v Speaker 4>a lot of different things happening, a lot of new
<v Speaker 4>things happening with Raw Underground. That'll be a topic we'll discuss.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, I mean, I think the number one topic arguably,
<v Speaker 4>I mean, you could say Rick Flair and Randy or
<v Speaker 4>is arguably the top top target here. But retribution is
<v Speaker 4>happening right now. And this group, as you know, has
<v Speaker 4>been running rough shot over WWE Raw and SmackDown. They
<v Speaker 4>have been wreaking havoc over the some of the worst
<v Speaker 4>security guards in the history of the world, not being
<v Speaker 4>able to guard anything. I mean, is it's certainly it's
<v Speaker 4>laughable how WW has dealt with their security of maybe
<v Speaker 4>one or two guys and retribution is like ten plus people.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it's laughable.
<v Speaker 4>But they're doing what they can and retribution. I guess
<v Speaker 4>I'll reserve my long form thought on retribution until after
<v Speaker 4>I hear yours. I'm very interested to hear what you
<v Speaker 4>think about retribution. Where this could be going. Is there
<v Speaker 4>a leader? I've heard really really big rumors of who
<v Speaker 4>the leader could be, if there is one. But clearly
<v Speaker 4>they're playing on a political movement that's going on in
<v Speaker 4>the world right now. They actually, they actually they actually
<v Speaker 4>basically admitted that in a SmackDown last night two nights
<v Speaker 4>ago and said that hey, basically they are taking advantage
<v Speaker 4>of the current events. And I'm like, thank you. They're
<v Speaker 4>at least acknowledging that this is a complete ripoff of
<v Speaker 4>the rioting and looting and Antifa all that kind of stuff.
<v Speaker 2>It is.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, we don't talk politics, but ww's forcing me
<v Speaker 4>to because they're bringing this in and making a direct
<v Speaker 4>correlation to what is going on. So they've at least
<v Speaker 4>acknowledged this group is taking advantage of the current events
<v Speaker 4>going on. So fine, but Michael, what are your thoughts
<v Speaker 4>on this? Where could this be going? Are you liking this?
<v Speaker 4>Are you confused?
<v Speaker 2>What have at it?
<v Speaker 3>You know, I'm fifty to fifty on the whole thing,
<v Speaker 3>And I'll tell you why. It could be the nWo,
<v Speaker 3>it could be the Nexus, or it could be retribution. Now,
<v Speaker 3>the nWo made a stamp a statement and it was
<v Speaker 3>incredible what happened. The Nexus was supposed to do that,
<v Speaker 3>but in six months there was only three people who
<v Speaker 3>were part of that roster that was still on the roster.
<v Speaker 3>So then you have this, So where is it? Where's
<v Speaker 3>it going? First of all, I'm not a fan of
<v Speaker 3>destroying like you know, transformers and stuff like that. Like
<v Speaker 3>anything that puts you in jail shouldn't be on TV.
<v Speaker 3>It's it's who shot JR. That's That's not why we
<v Speaker 3>watched wrestling, watched wrestling for wrestling. That's why I don't
<v Speaker 3>like cinematics. But that's neither here nor there. The point is,
<v Speaker 3>like Molotov cocktails stuff like that, it doesn't work. Now
<v Speaker 3>people will say, well, what about when Austin filled up
<v Speaker 3>McMahon's car with cement and stuff like that. It was
<v Speaker 3>believable because you had a billionaire who hated somebody so
<v Speaker 3>much he wouldn't sue him, or he wouldn't go after
<v Speaker 3>he wanted to see him loose. So there was a
<v Speaker 3>storyline that made sense. So I don't like the whole
<v Speaker 3>attacking everything, but I must say I did like the
<v Speaker 3>whole you know, taking the chainsaws to the ropes, you know.
<v Speaker 3>But it still reminds me of the Nexus. And I mean,
<v Speaker 3>look at those guys. Their their careers were buried in
<v Speaker 3>six months to a year. I mean, Heath Slater hung
<v Speaker 3>on for ten years, and God bless them for it. Now,
<v Speaker 3>what I really think it is is a bunch of
<v Speaker 3>guys from Evolve that are playing those roles, and which
<v Speaker 3>there are very talented guys. I've heard that they want
<v Speaker 3>to put Dominic Daichikovich or Dominic Daijack whatever you want
<v Speaker 3>to call him. As the leader, he's a whole seven
<v Speaker 3>feet tall. The guy's ginormous, and none of those guys
<v Speaker 3>are that big. They look like little kids. So that's
<v Speaker 3>why I think it's evolved kids or evolved wrestlers. But
<v Speaker 3>I also think that they don't even know what they're doing.
<v Speaker 3>I really think w is kind of gonna play this
<v Speaker 3>out until they can get somebody from AEW or somebody
<v Speaker 3>from overseas, or once COVID stops, like they can just
<v Speaker 3>get somebody and bring them over like I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>maybe Nito or a Boushi, like somebody's contract is up,
<v Speaker 3>and it's like wow. But you also have to look
<v Speaker 3>at the fact that it's so close. With the masked
<v Speaker 3>ninjas that help out with the twenty four to seven,
<v Speaker 3>it's like they're giving themselves a back door to make
<v Speaker 3>it comedy and wash out. So I really don't know
<v Speaker 3>where to go with this one. How about you.
<v Speaker 4>There's so much or so many ways to look at this,
<v Speaker 4>And again, our sample size of retribution is what two weeks.
<v Speaker 4>We know they like to They're like moths to a flame.
<v Speaker 4>Anytime they see a transformer or a power generator, they
<v Speaker 4>just go, we have to destroy this. They have shown
<v Speaker 4>symbols of WWE with a cross through it like or
<v Speaker 4>a strike through it there against WWE, So that tells
<v Speaker 4>me they don't have an agenda against specific people.
<v Speaker 2>It's the company as.
<v Speaker 4>A whole that they don't like and they have some
<v Speaker 4>kind of retribution revenge to get on to get against
<v Speaker 4>ww I've heard rumors of, well, it could be a
<v Speaker 4>bunch of the people that were fired at from WWE
<v Speaker 4>during the mass layoff a couple or a few months ago.
<v Speaker 2>You have heard that.
<v Speaker 4>I've heard, Oh, the leader could be cmpunk, And cmpunk
<v Speaker 4>did tweet out a little teaser as he loves to
<v Speaker 4>do and set people a blaze that he said he
<v Speaker 4>knows something about retribute and knows a thing or two
<v Speaker 4>about retribution, something along those lines, and people are thinking,
<v Speaker 4>oh my god, he's a leader.
<v Speaker 2>If he's a leader, he.
<v Speaker 4>Wouldn't put that out there. I mean, like, let's be honest,
<v Speaker 4>like he would want this to be if you're ever
<v Speaker 4>going to return, to be a complete and total blind side,
<v Speaker 4>if you know, that would be the smart thing to do.
<v Speaker 4>And honestly, I don't think he's going to return during
<v Speaker 4>the pandemic. Anyway, if he has any option or any
<v Speaker 4>drive to do that, you don't return. You make a
<v Speaker 4>massive return like that in front of nobody, you don't
<v Speaker 4>do it. So I don't think cmpunk is the leader,
<v Speaker 4>nor is he behind it, So that that is off
<v Speaker 4>the table for me at least this group get Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>they are, and they did remind me a little bit
<v Speaker 4>of the whole Nexus invasion that happened when they tore
<v Speaker 4>everything up, except this time they actually attacked the fans.
<v Speaker 4>And I say fans very lightly because they were just
<v Speaker 4>n XT trainees and they just took advantage of that
<v Speaker 4>to add to the chaos that will never happen obviously
<v Speaker 4>in a real setting. So yeah, that was an interesting visual.
<v Speaker 4>They attacked, They didn't discriminate against men and women. They
<v Speaker 4>attacked both. They flipped over cars. They're doing everything that
<v Speaker 4>you're seeing on TV in real life. I mean you're
<v Speaker 4>seeing people throwing cinder blocks through windows and being beat up,
<v Speaker 4>and it's the same exact style of violence that you're
<v Speaker 4>seeing on a real scale in our real lives. So
<v Speaker 4>it's there's no other way to put it.
<v Speaker 2>Then this is ballsy by WWE.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, this is straight out ballzy to do something
<v Speaker 4>like this, to take real events, real events that people
<v Speaker 4>are actually dying from and losing their businesses and their
<v Speaker 4>lives are being turned upside down and everything else, and
<v Speaker 4>they're turning it into a wrestling angle. I'm not offended
<v Speaker 4>by it. It's just ballsy because they are treading on
<v Speaker 4>very very thin ice. If they do something wrong, say
<v Speaker 4>something wrong, God forbid they start a whole thing about
<v Speaker 4>race or something like that, I would say the hell
<v Speaker 4>away from that.
<v Speaker 2>But this was certainly very gutsy, very ballsy. By Vince McMahon.
<v Speaker 4>I'm intrigued. I would like some kind of some kind
<v Speaker 4>of message, like where what are you doing here? Other
<v Speaker 4>than just to destroy stuff. I mean, I wouldn't say
<v Speaker 4>it's getting old yet, but it runs old pretty quickly
<v Speaker 4>because if we don't know who you are, like.
<v Speaker 2>We after a while, we're gonna get bored with you
<v Speaker 2>just you know, so yeah, go ahead.
<v Speaker 3>It could turn into and that's that's what I'm afraid of. Like, Okay,
<v Speaker 3>you know, as the gardener and the you know, wrestling
<v Speaker 3>historian that I try to be, I know a lot
<v Speaker 3>of wrestlers and when aces and eights came out in
<v Speaker 3>TNA ten years ago. It was such a bus It's like,
<v Speaker 3>oh my god, these are nobody's Why did we care
<v Speaker 3>that they were under masks. So if they have a
<v Speaker 3>bunch of guys under masks, you have to have a leader.
<v Speaker 3>I think the best leader at this point Xavier.
<v Speaker 2>Woods really elaborate. Why is that?
<v Speaker 3>Because well, you've got Biggie going into singles and he's
<v Speaker 3>doing a great job, and he should be a single star.
<v Speaker 3>But you know, you and I have talked a long
<v Speaker 3>time about like Biggie should always have the singles push.
<v Speaker 3>And of course you know Xavier has been on the
<v Speaker 3>shelf for a long time. He's charismatic, he can put
<v Speaker 3>anything over. He is so great on a mic that
<v Speaker 3>he doesn't even get the credit for how great he is.
<v Speaker 3>And that's one of the reasons that the New Day
<v Speaker 3>could go heel to face and heal to face him
<v Speaker 3>with a trumpet or trombone, whatever it was, and just
<v Speaker 3>doing his thing. Him being the mouthpiece was amazing. Kofe
<v Speaker 3>was always a performer, but Biggie, everybody knows Biggie was
<v Speaker 3>the Roman Raids. He was the star. He was the
<v Speaker 3>guy that they wanted to push. So with Diggy doing
<v Speaker 3>his own thing, KOFE being out for a long time,
<v Speaker 3>Xavier should be back soon. At this point, he'd be
<v Speaker 3>the perfect person disgruntled. It makes sense my tag team
<v Speaker 3>partner is broken and the other one's going out on
<v Speaker 3>his zone. I want retribution the other person. And you're
<v Speaker 3>gonna laugh at me, Drake Mavick.
<v Speaker 4>I'm not gonna laugh at you. I would not look.
<v Speaker 4>I think Drake Maverick is probably one of the more
<v Speaker 4>underutilized talents that WWE had, and they made a joke
<v Speaker 4>out of him, and as soon as I saw him
<v Speaker 4>p as pants when Big Show got a hold of him,
<v Speaker 4>I said it's over and he was released, and then
<v Speaker 4>he had a very emotional tweet about his release, and
<v Speaker 4>then w brought him back for the tournament, and so
<v Speaker 4>he could be certainly. I think he's got more in
<v Speaker 4>the tank than people realize, and he's a little bit
<v Speaker 4>The thing is w W East and Vince McMahon tends
<v Speaker 4>to go for the bigger guys, and especially in this position,
<v Speaker 4>be a leader of a group like this that is
<v Speaker 4>being threaded throughout Ron SmackDown, you would usually want somebody
<v Speaker 4>to be the star that they feel could be that
<v Speaker 4>next big thing. To take a pun from brock Lesner's
<v Speaker 4>two thousand and two two thousand and three run.
<v Speaker 2>It could be.
<v Speaker 4>But that's how I would think Vince would want to
<v Speaker 4>use this angle, not for somebody that's existing, but maybe
<v Speaker 4>somebody that is up and coming, maybe somebody we don't see.
<v Speaker 4>And the fact that everybody is masked, the fact that
<v Speaker 4>we have not seen anyone, and there are women in
<v Speaker 4>this group, I mean, there are women involved in this
<v Speaker 4>group of tenish people. That seems to kind of, you know,
<v Speaker 4>fluctuate from scene to scene of how many people are
<v Speaker 4>actually involved in this. I don't know if there's a
<v Speaker 4>reason behind their identity not being revealed yet. Maybe WWE
<v Speaker 4>is got the idea in place and they're like, well,
<v Speaker 4>who should be in this? And they're kind of going
<v Speaker 4>back and forth, and I don't know if maybe they
<v Speaker 4>fleshed out the whole thing. They're like, well, let's ass
<v Speaker 4>a mystery and let's put a mask on them and
<v Speaker 4>we'll figure out that, you know, who exactly we want
<v Speaker 4>and here in these positions, But it is it's interesting.
<v Speaker 2>I would say that the lights.
<v Speaker 4>Going out to let everyone know that they are on
<v Speaker 4>their way to the arena is kind of like every
<v Speaker 4>time the lights flicker, they seem to be showing up.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know if somebody has a constant power switch
<v Speaker 4>or some kind of like button in their hands of like, hey,
<v Speaker 4>we're coming. That is the worst thing you'd want to
<v Speaker 4>do if you were trying to surprise someone or to
<v Speaker 4>try to blindside them, is to let them know you're coming.
<v Speaker 4>And so it's almost like a weird entrance for them.
<v Speaker 4>I don't want that to be a weird an entrance
<v Speaker 4>for them. That should not be an entrance, because that
<v Speaker 4>is a terrible entrance, number one, And it doesn't make
<v Speaker 4>sense if you're trying to surprise your opponent, because knows
<v Speaker 4>what that is. Although I will say that WWE has
<v Speaker 4>used the lights out of the flickering of the lights
<v Speaker 4>very creatively or to their advantage over the last couple
<v Speaker 4>of weeks by using it to shield the punk of
<v Speaker 4>Rick Flair, to shield the man on woman violence of
<v Speaker 4>braunz Stroman attacking Alexa Bliss, Like they're doing it so
<v Speaker 4>that you can fill it in with your brain, rather
<v Speaker 4>than actually WWE having to take the liability of actually
<v Speaker 4>showing it on their screen. So I think that they
<v Speaker 4>are taking advantage about the lights out situations.
<v Speaker 3>Well, it's David Fincher of a fight club, like taking
<v Speaker 3>violence off screen. Let you imagine it. And it's brilliant,
<v Speaker 3>it's great direction. It's Kevin Dunn at his best when
<v Speaker 3>he's not trying to get Invincent mcmhon's ear to push shameless.
<v Speaker 3>So but you know, I like it. I like it
<v Speaker 3>somewhat just because it gives me a little nWo by.
<v Speaker 3>But the nWo worked a little bit better and a
<v Speaker 3>little bit more realistic because you know, we didn't have smartphones,
<v Speaker 3>we didn't have you know, computer technology or any any
<v Speaker 3>kind of bs like that back then. So we deal
<v Speaker 3>in age now where we have all this technology in
<v Speaker 3>our hands. And so you have this group and you
<v Speaker 3>have the flickering, Well you don't believe that it's like
<v Speaker 3>actually Scott Hall flickering the lights while Kevin Nash comes out.
<v Speaker 3>That made sense in nineteen ninety seven, it doesn't make
<v Speaker 3>sense in twenty twenty. So I get you. And what
<v Speaker 3>I wish with this whole thing is I would like
<v Speaker 3>to get one person unmasked an underwing, but I would
<v Speaker 3>like it to be like a major indie underwing you know,
<v Speaker 3>and the perfect person for it would have been awesome there.
<v Speaker 3>He really would have. And I'm really not really I'm
<v Speaker 3>not really happy that he's not on TV right now
<v Speaker 3>because he's super talented and they're just wasting him. But
<v Speaker 3>he would have been the perfect person. And then he
<v Speaker 3>just kind of is the mouthpiece and talks and talks
<v Speaker 3>and talks, and he's not a great order, but he's
<v Speaker 3>serviceable to show what the company and what what uh
<v Speaker 3>you know, retribution is going to do in the future.
<v Speaker 3>And he could be the one who's flickering the lights
<v Speaker 3>and whatever else. But I don't like them all tough cocktails.
<v Speaker 3>I don't like turning over cars. I can come on there,
<v Speaker 3>if you can go to jail. It doesn't make sense,
<v Speaker 3>Like it makes sense.
<v Speaker 4>Right, I'm sorry, but like, how how are they How
<v Speaker 4>are the security guards unarmed? And they're the most unintimidating
<v Speaker 4>security guards I've ever seen, Like if this is really,
<v Speaker 4>if you're truly the announcers at risk who have almost
<v Speaker 4>been struck by baseball bats, crowbars, they're attacking fans as
<v Speaker 4>we're supposed to bring being perceived and look, I'm buying it.
<v Speaker 4>It's progressing.
<v Speaker 2>I get it. But if they're really doing all these things.
<v Speaker 4>And they're tearing up cars and they're destroying property, how
<v Speaker 4>are police not there? Like I mean, instead you have
<v Speaker 4>this inept security guard, unarmed who's five foot five.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it's just it's laughable with that. I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>No, it's it's it's Barny Far's, it's Mayberry. It's it's
<v Speaker 3>just it's it's it's a situation where they're trying to
<v Speaker 3>create a movie for us to watch, and we're we're
<v Speaker 3>smart enough not to swallow the pill. Does that make sense?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? I got it. I got it. I got it.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, definitely. And look again, it's only been a couple
<v Speaker 4>of weeks. I'm still interested. As you said, this could
<v Speaker 4>turn out to be really really good and great for
<v Speaker 4>a number of people's careers in this group who end
<v Speaker 4>up taking off, and that'd be awesome. That's that's the
<v Speaker 4>best case scenario. And you come out with it, maybe
<v Speaker 4>a couple of main event stars, or maybe even one
<v Speaker 4>main event person that comes out of this who is
<v Speaker 4>the leader.
<v Speaker 2>Fine.
<v Speaker 4>The worst case is that this becomes Nexus Part two
<v Speaker 4>and it really almost no stars are made, and the
<v Speaker 4>one star that could have been with Stuve Bennett, Wade
<v Speaker 4>Barrett could have been ends up just not being and
<v Speaker 4>that I mean it could be really be anything from
<v Speaker 4>the nWo to the Nexus. That it really could be
<v Speaker 4>that big of a range. But I'm interested, they have
<v Speaker 4>certainly my interest. It's just hard to really give a
<v Speaker 4>report card on something that's only a couple of weeks old.
<v Speaker 3>But no, I get you. But something I want to
<v Speaker 3>say is, I think this goes hand in hand with
<v Speaker 3>the network showing ICW Progress, Evolve and other indie shows,
<v Speaker 3>because I think that some of these people are going
<v Speaker 3>to be some of those indie stars and some of
<v Speaker 3>their first broadcasts on the network are going to be
<v Speaker 3>about like SMO Joe and Drew McIntyre's Drew Galloway and
<v Speaker 3>stuff like that when they were involved. Now that he
<v Speaker 3>owns it, like he's really puffing out his chest. But
<v Speaker 3>I think that he's trying to take some of these
<v Speaker 3>people and show them to you, and he's trying to
<v Speaker 3>build his own territory without having a territory, if that
<v Speaker 3>makes sense. And so I really think that like Vince's
<v Speaker 3>whole plan or whoever's like doing this is they've got
<v Speaker 3>all these indie shows and now they're going to show
<v Speaker 3>to you and now it's like, wow, we had aj
<v Speaker 3>styles the whole time. It's like, no, you didn't. He
<v Speaker 3>wrestled and involved like ten years ago, you know, stuff
<v Speaker 3>like that. But I think that a lot of these
<v Speaker 3>guys are going to come from these these specific shows,
<v Speaker 3>and I think that's that's why they're putting them on the.
<v Speaker 4>Network, and the fact that they're on the network. First
<v Speaker 4>of all, I love that. First of all, the fact
<v Speaker 4>that they're on the network is number one. It gives
<v Speaker 4>a nice taste of a different flavor, of a different
<v Speaker 4>flavor of pro wrestling in the WWE style. And I
<v Speaker 4>hope you're right. I hope you're right that that is
<v Speaker 4>the case. Again, everyone wants to speculate on it. Somebody existing, Oh,
<v Speaker 4>it could be so, and so I actually hope it's
<v Speaker 4>somebody we don't most people, not yourself or myself, because
<v Speaker 4>we I think you and I watch wrestling probably a
<v Speaker 4>little bit more and see other promotions a little bit
<v Speaker 4>more than most people. But with that said, I hope
<v Speaker 4>it's somebody that nobody really recognizes or knows, because that's
<v Speaker 4>how you build new stars, that's how you create the
<v Speaker 4>next generation. There's no better time to do it than now.
<v Speaker 4>With the pandemic. It's time to really build new stars
<v Speaker 4>in front of people that you could create that next
<v Speaker 4>main event star with. And a group like this that
<v Speaker 4>establishes themselves as dangerous as they are. And if it's
<v Speaker 4>done right, booked right, and the creative is right, this
<v Speaker 4>could really be a great success. And if it is
<v Speaker 4>somebody from one of these promotions, these independent promotions, yes,
<v Speaker 4>like that would be awesome. Unfortunately, I think the other,
<v Speaker 4>the cynical side of me, the devil's advocate of playing
<v Speaker 4>inside Vince McMahon's head, he is historically not been very
<v Speaker 4>high on those coming from other promotions, the committed WWE.
<v Speaker 4>I mean even aj Styles who recently who recently came
<v Speaker 4>in as he or recently did an interview. I don't
<v Speaker 4>know who the source was or I would cite it.
<v Speaker 4>And he did an interview and said that basically that
<v Speaker 4>Vince was not convinced that he was going to be
<v Speaker 4>a big star in WWE, and that he thought the
<v Speaker 4>reaction he got at the Royal Rumble in twenty fifteen,
<v Speaker 4>twenty sixteen when he came in twenty sixteen, or was
<v Speaker 4>it twenty sixteen, that AJ came in many days later
<v Speaker 4>than that seventeen. Yeah, so his fifteen was a disaster
<v Speaker 4>for Roman Reigns at Philadelphia, So I thought I knew
<v Speaker 4>it was a year or two after. But the fact
<v Speaker 4>that AJ Styles came in had the monster pop right
<v Speaker 4>after Roman Reigns came in. Vince thought that that was
<v Speaker 4>a fluke, and AJ said that it took him a
<v Speaker 4>long time to get consistently great reactions for Vince to
<v Speaker 4>really buy into it. So again, Vince usually doesn't get
<v Speaker 4>it when other people come from promotions and understands why
<v Speaker 4>they get the pops that they do. He is so
<v Speaker 4>in a bubble of WWE. He doesn't get it from outside.
<v Speaker 4>So my fear is that these people that are attacking
<v Speaker 4>WWE may not be from the from the outside, Because
<v Speaker 4>if this is such a big angle, does Vince really
<v Speaker 4>want all these independent people that he doesn't understand coming
<v Speaker 4>in and really taking up a lot of TV time.
<v Speaker 2>That's my fear.
<v Speaker 3>No, it's it's a great fear because like you know
<v Speaker 3>how big I am, and I'm paull a Cruise and
<v Speaker 3>I followed him in the Indies as Zuhan Nation and honestly, Like,
<v Speaker 3>the only person that I predicted that would be in
<v Speaker 3>ww by now that isn't is ar Fox, which I
<v Speaker 3>think is part of retribution, but I'm not going to
<v Speaker 3>go there. So point is a palling crew is super
<v Speaker 3>talented and he had a job to the miz who
<v Speaker 3>we don't even know why he's employed. He had a
<v Speaker 3>job to I can't remember how many people, Rick Moss?
<v Speaker 3>Why is he employed?
<v Speaker 2>Again?
<v Speaker 3>How many? How many people do you put the seats
<v Speaker 3>by the way? Oh that's all right, No, So you know,
<v Speaker 3>he doesn't see talent. He just sees what he wants
<v Speaker 3>to see in a person. And it just bothers me
<v Speaker 3>that Vince is so out of touch. He we don't
<v Speaker 3>care about the three hundred pounder, Like, okay, I want
<v Speaker 3>to skip forward real quick to smack down so bron
<v Speaker 3>Bronz Strowman shows up with the shaved head and apparently
<v Speaker 3>he's going here. How do you feel about that?
<v Speaker 4>Well, now, look, I like it. Have you get some
<v Speaker 4>pros and cons The good thing is they're consist with
<v Speaker 4>the fiend changing people. They've been consistent with that from
<v Speaker 4>every opponent that he's had that in some way to
<v Speaker 4>some level to some degree that character has changed, whether
<v Speaker 4>it be physical, whether it be mental, whatever, and they
<v Speaker 4>have been consistent with that.
<v Speaker 2>I like that.
<v Speaker 4>Consistency in WWE storytelling is a rare thing, so props
<v Speaker 4>to that. Plus Bronze shaving his head, I actually like
<v Speaker 4>it better. I think it looks better on him than
<v Speaker 4>the silly kind of haircut that he had with the
<v Speaker 4>long ponytail on the back.
<v Speaker 2>I actually like this look better.
<v Speaker 4>Now, with all that said, we have him turning heel,
<v Speaker 4>apparently turning heel and attacking Alexa Blist, albeit Alexa Bliss
<v Speaker 4>stupidly slap Brown strow In four or five times. I mean, like,
<v Speaker 4>what do you expect to happen? He didn't punch her,
<v Speaker 4>He just basically pancaked her in the middle of the ring,
<v Speaker 4>and like that's the least that he could have done.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, it's not like he attacked her unprovoked. It's
<v Speaker 4>kind of deserved. And what are you gonna do? I mean,
<v Speaker 4>it's pro wrestling. This isn't real life, folks. Okay, we're
<v Speaker 4>not advocating for domestic violence. Could the attitude are the
<v Speaker 4>ruthless aggression era and you will see much, much, much worse.
<v Speaker 4>So it was kind of warranted based on what had happened,
<v Speaker 4>and he just slapped her down, and I'm interested in
<v Speaker 4>it from the perspective of does this stop after Summer Slam?
<v Speaker 4>Is this just something that he has to access inside
<v Speaker 4>of himself to just get through the Fiend and then
<v Speaker 4>he's going to return to who and what he was beforehand.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know if this is just kind of a
<v Speaker 4>faux he'll turn to get the Fiend to buy all
<v Speaker 4>in and that he is doing the hardest thing possible
<v Speaker 4>by telling Alexa Bliss he doesn't give a damn about her,
<v Speaker 4>just to protect her. I think that would probably be
<v Speaker 4>My guess is that it would be a all in,
<v Speaker 4>all out assault on the Fiend by making him believe
<v Speaker 4>that he doesn't care about Alexa Bliss. He said it,
<v Speaker 4>and now he's shown it, so the Fiend believes him,
<v Speaker 4>and now the Fiend doesn't have a weakness to attack
<v Speaker 4>on Bronze Strowman emotionally, and now he's shown himself to
<v Speaker 4>be a true monster.
<v Speaker 2>Apparently.
<v Speaker 4>I think this is temporary, I really do, and I
<v Speaker 4>don't think the SmackDown can afford a top Babyface loss
<v Speaker 4>at this point unless Roman Reigns is on his way back,
<v Speaker 4>which I don't think he is, at least from my estimation,
<v Speaker 4>anytime soon. So I don't think they can afford a
<v Speaker 4>top baby face to change to a heel. And I
<v Speaker 4>think it's just strategic in terms of mind games against
<v Speaker 4>the Fiend for SummerSlam.
<v Speaker 2>What do you think?
<v Speaker 3>I think it's a double turn. It's it's like the
<v Speaker 3>writings on the wall. It's a double turn. It's it's
<v Speaker 3>like the seth Rawlins thing. You're supposed to be the face,
<v Speaker 3>but everybody loves the heel, and it's happening again. It's happening,
<v Speaker 3>and it is boiling up. And the fact that, like
<v Speaker 3>we talk about, like the Fiend doesn't need the championship,
<v Speaker 3>but Bray, whyatt does. My opinion now, your opinion is
<v Speaker 3>he doesn't need it at all because he's just that
<v Speaker 3>damn cut now when he comes ron strumming. That was
<v Speaker 3>one of those those really bad booking ideas. Of course
<v Speaker 3>they had to fill in for Roman Reigns, but it
<v Speaker 3>was just it was terrible, Like I know why they
<v Speaker 3>plugged him in, but they didn't give a reason why
<v Speaker 3>they plugged him in, which you know, you and Ashley
<v Speaker 3>and I talked about that. But the fact is, you've
<v Speaker 3>got a guy that can't be defeated. So what do
<v Speaker 3>you do. You make him a heal, make him defeat himself.
<v Speaker 3>That's what's happening here and the and and like at
<v Speaker 3>the end of SmackDown, when when when the fiend was
<v Speaker 3>there with with with Alexa. Yeah, it's it's a turn.
<v Speaker 3>It's a turn.
<v Speaker 4>I look, you could be absolutely right.
<v Speaker 2>I don't.
<v Speaker 4>I wouldn't go all in on my prediction because you
<v Speaker 4>gotta be careful of this Summer Slam. And the reason
<v Speaker 4>I say that is the tagline for this Summer Slam
<v Speaker 4>is you'll never see it coming, which we're all supposed
<v Speaker 4>to believe is with a Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre match,
<v Speaker 4>and it's supposed to be that we're all just just
<v Speaker 4>inferring that it's about the r KO and Drew McIntyre
<v Speaker 4>will never see it coming.
<v Speaker 2>I would be careful with this.
<v Speaker 4>This could be a precursor that could really be kind
<v Speaker 4>of a hidden message from WWE of that you'll never
<v Speaker 4>see it coming, meaning there's a big turn coming other
<v Speaker 4>than the RKO. I'm not talking about the RKO, because
<v Speaker 4>I think there's something bigger happening. Could it be something
<v Speaker 4>like this with Bray Wyatt and bron Strowan.
<v Speaker 2>Absolutely it could be. You could be absolutely right.
<v Speaker 4>So I just I'm very weary of that tag line.
<v Speaker 4>Did that strike you too, with the you know you'll
<v Speaker 4>you'll never see it coming? Or did you just only
<v Speaker 4>think about, oh, that's the RKO that Randy talked about
<v Speaker 4>a couple of weeks ago.
<v Speaker 3>That or I thought that maybe they'd bring back John
<v Speaker 3>Cena for something. Or I also thought that, uh, you know,
<v Speaker 3>maybe the rock would be in there, like their goofy
<v Speaker 3>PG stuff. But no, I get what you're saying, and
<v Speaker 3>I get where you're coming from. I just think that, uh,
<v Speaker 3>it's too easy to predict their unpredictable in WW. You know,
<v Speaker 3>I hate to say it, but it's true.
<v Speaker 2>It is, Yeah, it is. I Mean.
<v Speaker 4>The thing is, though, as I talk myself out of
<v Speaker 4>this it being nothing more than just a tagline that
<v Speaker 4>WW has to have a cute tagline now for every
<v Speaker 4>paper view is that there are no fans here. And
<v Speaker 4>I've said this since the pandemic started, that I don't
<v Speaker 4>want WW to put their put forward and I mean
<v Speaker 4>that in a weird way because I don't want them
<v Speaker 4>to bring back, you know, massive stars, like I really don't.
<v Speaker 4>I don't want them to bring back John Cena. I
<v Speaker 4>don't want them to bring back the Rock Stone Cold.
<v Speaker 4>I don't want them to bring these guys back right now,
<v Speaker 4>like I don't want it in front of nobody. And
<v Speaker 4>they only did that at WrestleMania because they were already
<v Speaker 4>at WrestleMania.
<v Speaker 2>So h yeah, I would.
<v Speaker 4>I would vote against any of those massive angles. And
<v Speaker 4>it could very well just be it's a cute tagline
<v Speaker 4>that Randy Orton said, and everyone talks about the RKO
<v Speaker 4>being you never see it coming, and that's where they
<v Speaker 4>that's where it ends.
<v Speaker 2>But all right, well, I.
<v Speaker 4>Guess we're moving on a little bit to as we
<v Speaker 4>As we touch on Big E a little bit earlier,
<v Speaker 4>I want to ask you how would you grade WWE
<v Speaker 4>and really Big E? As his singles career has taken off,
<v Speaker 4>how would you how would you grade his singles run
<v Speaker 4>so far? Again, it's only been a few weeks, I understand,
<v Speaker 4>but in the short amount of time you have to
<v Speaker 4>grade it, how would you grade it? If you were
<v Speaker 4>going to give it, say letter grade and why i'd.
<v Speaker 2>Be it's a me.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, it could be better. But my thing with
<v Speaker 3>Biggie is the fact that like they're gonna put him
<v Speaker 3>against people like John Morrison that you also want to
<v Speaker 3>see get pushed. That's not fair. That's not fair for
<v Speaker 3>either person. So whoever loses loses and whoever wins, it's
<v Speaker 3>like a it's not a good push, you know. It's like,
<v Speaker 3>do I want to see Biggie's steamroll over like Shamus
<v Speaker 3>and the mis Hell? Yeah? Do I want to see
<v Speaker 3>Do you want to see him beat John Morrison? Or
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, Like who else is like Apollo Cruise, No,
<v Speaker 3>I don't. So it's it's the mentality of who he's beating.
<v Speaker 3>And so it's terrible that he beat Morrison. Well whatever,
<v Speaker 3>you know, they had that match. But it I love
<v Speaker 3>Big East push and I think he's gonna go far,
<v Speaker 3>and he was the guy that was supposed to be
<v Speaker 3>in Roman Range's place. I really want to see a
<v Speaker 3>character change. I really want to see a lot of things.
<v Speaker 3>I really see a lot of things for him in
<v Speaker 3>the future. But however, right now, I just don't think
<v Speaker 3>that his push is being completely utilized. I think it's
<v Speaker 3>being tuned with kid gloves of course. Okay, wrestled John Morrison.
<v Speaker 3>Well you're gonna have a great match, but let's see
<v Speaker 3>you steamroll over people we don't like and that makes
<v Speaker 3>more momentum and we're not getting momentum. That's how I fee.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, the thing is, and you're right, the whole John
<v Speaker 4>Morrison thing and the whole that has been a debacle
<v Speaker 4>since he returned. I mean, they they essentially stuck him
<v Speaker 4>right back where he left WWE and didn't really they
<v Speaker 4>don't envision him going I don't think any more than
<v Speaker 4>just a tag team wrestler, which I totally disagree with.
<v Speaker 4>And the Miz I'm growing less and less fond of
<v Speaker 4>as the weeks go by. And I mean that in
<v Speaker 4>a way of just I'm just tired of him, not
<v Speaker 4>in the heel heat way, just of like his personality
<v Speaker 4>as as almost a channel changing person.
<v Speaker 2>He's such a he's.
<v Speaker 4>Acting pro wrestler rather than being authentic. He's like, I
<v Speaker 4>don't know how to describe the mis I'm really souring
<v Speaker 4>on the Miz over the last month or two and
<v Speaker 4>I can't really put my finger on it.
<v Speaker 2>Why.
<v Speaker 4>But that's a topic for another time. As far as
<v Speaker 4>as far as the Bigie singles push, I would grde it,
<v Speaker 4>I'd say C plus. And the reason I say that
<v Speaker 4>is he's the same guy right Like he is just
<v Speaker 4>Big Ee from the New Day. He still has the
<v Speaker 4>same entrance he log rolled or whatever he called it
<v Speaker 4>down the ramp his first time out. He still talks, Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>he still talks like he's part of the New Day.
<v Speaker 4>When he speaks in his promos, he's giving me like
<v Speaker 4>promo school. And I don't want to be in promo school,
<v Speaker 4>where you know, I'm in front of the other people
<v Speaker 4>watching me cut a promo. I don't feel like I'm
<v Speaker 4>hearing real Big E. And I got a little bit
<v Speaker 4>of that on SmackDown as Seamus stood up to him
<v Speaker 4>and then he actually conversed with him on kind of
<v Speaker 4>a real level. So I don't want promo Big E.
<v Speaker 4>I want real Big E, if that makes sense. He's
<v Speaker 4>just constantly being the same, just kind of wacky cartoonish,
<v Speaker 4>speaking loudly and doing weird gyrations like no, we've seen this, that's.
<v Speaker 2>Who you've been.
<v Speaker 4>Show us what you can be and we're not seeing
<v Speaker 4>that yet. Again, A very small glimpse on SmackDown, which
<v Speaker 4>was encouraging. He's winning matches, that's great, So that's why
<v Speaker 4>I give it a C plus, as he should be.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, geez, if he started losing matches rob off
<v Speaker 4>the bat, I mean, that's almost inconceivable. So he's winning matches.
<v Speaker 4>He's shown us just kind of the same old Big Ee.
<v Speaker 4>I want something different. I'm not saying change everything, change
<v Speaker 4>you know he's a one to eighty no, because that
<v Speaker 4>wouldn't make sense. But an evolution of the character is
<v Speaker 4>what I'm looking for.
<v Speaker 2>I'm looking for.
<v Speaker 4>An evolution of Big Ee, and we're not getting it
<v Speaker 4>right now.
<v Speaker 3>I actually look for a devolution of character. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>you remember when he came in. He had the African
<v Speaker 3>stripes and he was the bodyguard for what's his name, Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>and just him like one day shaking his head and saying,
<v Speaker 3>you know, like talking to Ron Simmons or something, I'm
<v Speaker 3>going back to my roots. But with this being intentious time,
<v Speaker 3>you know, we can't do that. It's it's it's fantasy booking.
<v Speaker 3>But if he's going forward right now, get rid of
<v Speaker 3>the all of it, like especially anything with the pancakes
<v Speaker 3>and all that. Bs just come out and be a
<v Speaker 3>badass that I didn't want to say.
<v Speaker 4>No, no, no, that's that's still PG because w has
<v Speaker 4>they say that word on their programming is when I'm
<v Speaker 4>going by their standards, Well, I'm trying.
<v Speaker 3>To censor myself to to be said. You know, I mean,
<v Speaker 3>we we have you know, many followers and all over
<v Speaker 3>the world, which is amazing, so you know, but I
<v Speaker 3>want to be sensitive to everybody, so you know, I
<v Speaker 3>don't want to offend. But yeah, I just think that
<v Speaker 3>he you know, they said he and Cizarro are like
<v Speaker 3>the bench press gods, and that's including Strowman, who's an
<v Speaker 3>actual like strong man champion. So if they are that
<v Speaker 3>crazy badass, why are they not getting singles pushes?
<v Speaker 2>Well a Cizarrow.
<v Speaker 4>I mean again, I think I've said it on this show,
<v Speaker 4>either to you or another co host recently, that well,
<v Speaker 4>Vince thinks it's because he's Swiss, right like.
<v Speaker 2>Swiss, He's Swiss. That's why.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean, Cizarro is a topic that honestly, you
<v Speaker 4>could dive into for an entire show, So I will,
<v Speaker 4>I'll have to table that. I mean, I don't understand
<v Speaker 4>why he has not been pushed the way he has
<v Speaker 4>at least he's tag team champion, half the tag team
<v Speaker 4>champions with Hinskey, that's good. He is freakishly strong, insanely strong.
<v Speaker 4>He's an incredible cardio shape. I mean, this guy just
<v Speaker 4>keeps himself a tip top shape. He is showing himself
<v Speaker 4>to be a little bit more progressive on the promos,
<v Speaker 4>So Cizar again, I'll table that for now. But with
<v Speaker 4>Big E, yeah, another super strong guy. He does thinks
<v Speaker 4>to the ring that his size should not.
<v Speaker 2>Be able to do.
<v Speaker 4>And oh yeah, he is very charismatic.
<v Speaker 2>He has a great look.
<v Speaker 4>And why he is WWE's clinging to this Big E
<v Speaker 4>character of the New Day and not just starting to
<v Speaker 4>show signs of moving on, as you said, kind of
<v Speaker 4>devolving the character. Yeah, like dissolve it. I want if
<v Speaker 4>it were up to me, you know, in five months,
<v Speaker 4>even three four, five months, I would this Big E
<v Speaker 4>would no longer exist period, Like you can slowly phase
<v Speaker 4>it out. That's fine, it makes sense. You wouldn't have
<v Speaker 4>a one to eighty new music dark closed, you know whatever, No,
<v Speaker 4>I get it, but man, can we just move on
<v Speaker 4>from this pancake throwing happy go lucky power positivity just
<v Speaker 4>cartoon character of big Ee. Please, this is I can't
<v Speaker 4>take him seriously, so any anything else on big Ee.
<v Speaker 4>I mean I give a C plus in terms of
<v Speaker 4>my grade.
<v Speaker 2>You give it a B. So relatively in the same neighborhood.
<v Speaker 3>I know. I just think that he is gonna be
<v Speaker 3>a Kurt Angle. It's gonna happen like you and from Well,
<v Speaker 3>it's true. It's true. It's goofy and we drink milk
<v Speaker 3>to the guy that goes psycho and takes on your
<v Speaker 3>biggest guy, Steve Austin makes him tap out. Biggie will
<v Speaker 3>do that. I promise you that if he doesn't, that's
<v Speaker 3>gonna be Keith Lee. Promise you. You heard it here,
<v Speaker 3>Keith Lee, I love it.
<v Speaker 2>That is yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Wow is KEI is the guy that they wanted big
<v Speaker 3>E to. B has the he's got the big he's
<v Speaker 3>got the build, he's got the look, he's got the promos.
<v Speaker 3>Keith Lee. I I watched him years and man, he
<v Speaker 3>he can do anything. He really can't do anything. Uh
<v Speaker 3>Like somebody quoted him and I I hate to say,
<v Speaker 3>but they quoted him as the Black Vader and that
<v Speaker 3>was a compliment to him. And that's pretty awesome. Like
<v Speaker 3>if you can move like Vader at your size, but
<v Speaker 3>you are an African American, you know. Yeah, so that
<v Speaker 3>that is pretty hardcore. That's that's pretty awesome.
<v Speaker 4>That's a hell of a compliment. I mean, yeah, definitely.
<v Speaker 4>And if I was gonna choose personalities and just again
<v Speaker 4>based on personality, which when I like better Biggie or
<v Speaker 4>Keith Lee, I mean I take Keith Lee one hundred
<v Speaker 4>times over. I mean, I just this guy is he
<v Speaker 4>just fits the part of being a true champion. Like
<v Speaker 4>everything Keith Lee is doing right now. I mean, I'm
<v Speaker 4>a big fan of uh and I don't need a
<v Speaker 4>Keith Lee duplicate of Big Eie, but certainly you can
<v Speaker 4>take elements of it. Of seriousness and Biggie can't ever
<v Speaker 4>get serious. That was the whole and that's really the
<v Speaker 4>whole New Day Gripe I had, is they can't ever
<v Speaker 4>just be serious. I mean there's been a few moments
<v Speaker 4>of promos where they're serious, but ninety five percent of
<v Speaker 4>the time they're just joking. Kovie Kingston loses the belt,
<v Speaker 4>He's throwing pancakes the next week and forgets about it.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, even as WW champion, he's just acting wacky
<v Speaker 4>and goofy, and you could argue, well, that's what brought
<v Speaker 4>them to the dance. Why would you change your game,
<v Speaker 4>because in the long term, you're hurting that person by
<v Speaker 4>not showing that the championship means more to them than
<v Speaker 4>this silly group does of throwing pancakes.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, so I'm gonna get on a rant.
<v Speaker 3>No, no, no, I get it, because like it was destroyed.
<v Speaker 3>His whole win was destroyed by the fact that we
<v Speaker 3>saw his championship belt outside the ring. So what does
<v Speaker 3>it mean when we knew it was predestined? Watching it,
<v Speaker 3>you know that that destroyed Coch Kingson's. This whole run
<v Speaker 3>was not very good. It was very destroyed. It was
<v Speaker 3>very diminutive. It was very well, this is what you wanted,
<v Speaker 3>So Vince is going to deathcate it up. That's what
<v Speaker 3>it was. And so I couldn't take it to seriously.
<v Speaker 3>I couldn't take anything seriously at that point. It made
<v Speaker 3>me really mad actually, because you know, it was supposed
<v Speaker 3>to be like this whole movement and it wasn't a movement.
<v Speaker 3>It was just garbage, it really was. And so I
<v Speaker 3>looked back at it and then I, I mean, we
<v Speaker 3>are wrestling fans, so we know what to look for,
<v Speaker 3>and the fact that they had that belt out there already.
<v Speaker 3>It wasn't don't tell me the end, show me the end,
<v Speaker 3>give me the blowoff, the beauty, the the the.
<v Speaker 2>Moment, well said, I mean that.
<v Speaker 4>The whole thing with Kofe Kingston, As you said, I mean, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>we could see it coming. And when you look back,
<v Speaker 4>what did that title chance we'd that championship run really
<v Speaker 4>do for kofee? Right now he's back exactly where he started.
<v Speaker 2>Nothing.
<v Speaker 4>The answer is nothing. I mean, seriously, where's Kingston again?
<v Speaker 4>I know he's injured, but after that, it's like nothing happened.
<v Speaker 4>He didn't speak to it at all and just talked
<v Speaker 4>about the power positivity overcoming. That was it, and then
<v Speaker 4>went back to throwing pancakes like a fool. And it
<v Speaker 4>was I think nothing more than just fan service from
<v Speaker 4>WrestleMania where he ended up winning it to where he
<v Speaker 4>dropped it on the first episode of Fox SmackDown on
<v Speaker 4>Fox to brock Lesner, and that's it. And we haven't
<v Speaker 4>seen or heard from Kovie Kingston since that. Literally that run.
<v Speaker 4>People will argue me on this, but it's forgettable. It's forgettable,
<v Speaker 4>and what he did with the championship was downright embarrassing.
<v Speaker 4>I mean to be some and I'm not talking about
<v Speaker 4>Kovie Kingston the man. He's a great man. For everything
<v Speaker 4>I've ready family man, that's wonderful.
<v Speaker 2>The character of Kofe Kingston the New.
<v Speaker 4>Day is really a negative for the championship because of
<v Speaker 4>how he was portrayed and there was nothing serious about anything.
<v Speaker 2>He would get his ass.
<v Speaker 4>Beat down, you know, the week before brutally, and then
<v Speaker 4>come back the next week hopping and skipping down the
<v Speaker 4>ramp with pancakes behind the championship.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it's it's it's awful. It's awful.
<v Speaker 4>And so I guess circling back bringing this back because
<v Speaker 4>I could get on that for many, many, many hours.
<v Speaker 4>It's because it's such a stain on the championship. And again, people,
<v Speaker 4>do you know, you gotta be careful because today, nowadays,
<v Speaker 4>you're gonna people are gonna think it's some kind of
<v Speaker 4>race inducing. Really, just opinion I have has nothing to
<v Speaker 4>do with that. I don't care what color he is,
<v Speaker 4>I don't care who's out there. The fact of the
<v Speaker 4>matter is what you do with that championship matters. How
<v Speaker 4>how you were portrayed matters, and I'm gonna put it
<v Speaker 4>on creative, probably a little bit on KOFE Kingston, who
<v Speaker 4>may not have fought this to say, Hey, like, I'm
<v Speaker 4>the champion, now.
<v Speaker 2>Can I take some more things? Seriously?
<v Speaker 4>Can I kind of step away from this group.
<v Speaker 2>A little bit and be my own?
<v Speaker 3>Man?
<v Speaker 2>I'm the champion.
<v Speaker 4>So people that are out there, oh, it's some kind
<v Speaker 4>of no, it has nothing to do with it. I
<v Speaker 4>was happy he won the championship, but I was not
<v Speaker 4>happy about the follow up. So I'm going to be
<v Speaker 4>very clear about that.
<v Speaker 3>We're not doing the weekend review though. So we talked
<v Speaker 3>about Undergrow.
<v Speaker 2>Yes we do. What are your thoughts?
<v Speaker 3>I hate it? How about you? Now?
<v Speaker 2>It's weird.
<v Speaker 4>WWE, after they got the most the historic low ratings
<v Speaker 4>of Raw, did several new angles the next Monday night,
<v Speaker 4>and I give him credit. I don't know if it's
<v Speaker 4>out of desperation or just really pushing the envelope or whatever.
<v Speaker 4>And that's the same week Retribution started, is the same
<v Speaker 4>week Underground started. So here are the positives. As I
<v Speaker 4>try to go through the positives and negatives, it's a
<v Speaker 4>much shorter list for the positives. Hint, hint, But here
<v Speaker 4>are the positives. I appreciate the effort. I like that
<v Speaker 4>they're trying something new. I always appreciate that, even if
<v Speaker 4>the execution is awful, I appreciate that they're trying something
<v Speaker 4>different to try to get fans viewing. Again, that's their job.
<v Speaker 4>They are a business, they're a for profit organization. They
<v Speaker 4>need sponsors to stay happy, they need viewers. I totally
<v Speaker 4>understand it, and there's nothing against that, so that I appreciate.
<v Speaker 4>I appreciate the setting and the production of it. You know,
<v Speaker 4>I'm not a fan of cinematic stuff. It's not quite
<v Speaker 4>you know, a cinematic pay per view matches, but they're
<v Speaker 4>you know, it's very it's very showy. It's very movie
<v Speaker 4>like in certain ways. The smoky setting, the ring with
<v Speaker 4>no ropes. I'm not a fan of the girls dancing
<v Speaker 4>randomly in like cages or whatever, or on stage or
<v Speaker 4>it's very Vince McMahon to have to have that. This
<v Speaker 4>isn't the attitude it really. I know it's a small thing,
<v Speaker 4>but it really just detracts from all of the progress
<v Speaker 4>with the women in the whole women's evolution revolution have
<v Speaker 4>made over the last several years is wait a minute,
<v Speaker 4>you know you have you have all these women doing
<v Speaker 4>these awesome things, doing the first this the first that
<v Speaker 4>they have the women's Championship now it's no longer the
<v Speaker 4>deest Championship. That you have the women's tag Team Championship.
<v Speaker 4>They're being they were the main event of WrestleMania. And
<v Speaker 4>then you have Vince McMahon bringing back a nineteen ninety
<v Speaker 4>eight portrayal of how women were viewed at that point
<v Speaker 4>of just basically sex objects, of just dancing on stage
<v Speaker 4>like in the middle of the strip club. I mean,
<v Speaker 4>I so that that I didn't like, but anything from
<v Speaker 4>this that you did like.
<v Speaker 3>No, Absolutely, Bick Moss. Why is he still actual people
<v Speaker 3>who had talent? Fire? But ladies and gentlemen, we have
<v Speaker 3>Rick Moss on underground. I want you to turn tune
<v Speaker 3>in every Monday night to see all the Riddick Moss
<v Speaker 3>you want. So with that being said, you know, I
<v Speaker 3>do a little discussed, but I just feel so scrape
<v Speaker 3>my tongue. I don't like this cinematic stuff. I hate it.
<v Speaker 3>I know Sean or Sean and Shane Shane wanted to
<v Speaker 3>do all this stuff for a long, long time as
<v Speaker 3>far as having like underground fight clubs or fight clubs,
<v Speaker 3>and you wanted to buy UFC, well you didn't get
<v Speaker 3>by when a poor man's UFC and a poor man
<v Speaker 3>scripted UFC does not make you look good. It makes
<v Speaker 3>you look like a chomp. And that's what it looks
<v Speaker 3>like to me. It's it's so I can't bring in
<v Speaker 3>somebody to sit next to me and watch wrestling. And
<v Speaker 3>then they see that and try to say, no, it's
<v Speaker 3>it's cool. It's like it's wrestling now.
<v Speaker 2>They they.
<v Speaker 3>That destroys it. It's it is defecated on.
<v Speaker 2>It is.
<v Speaker 3>Now.
<v Speaker 4>I'll say this, I'm not as down on it as
<v Speaker 4>you are, simply of just I'm trying very very hard
<v Speaker 4>to keep an open mind that they're going to do
<v Speaker 4>something that I go, oh, okay, this makes sense. I
<v Speaker 4>don't know how they're gonna do that, though. I Mean,
<v Speaker 4>my thought is they're trying to create another place for
<v Speaker 4>stars to be made to eventually be brought up into
<v Speaker 4>inside the ring. The problem is when you bring them
<v Speaker 4>inside the ring of the normal ring that everyone competes
<v Speaker 4>on on raw. Do they have the same style, but
<v Speaker 4>how does the other opponent react like how so it's
<v Speaker 4>basically like a UFC style versus just typical pro wrestling
<v Speaker 4>style every time, Like if the objective is to bring
<v Speaker 4>them into stardom and eventually bring them onto the main
<v Speaker 4>roster of Raw, which is weird to say because I'm
<v Speaker 4>already on Raw, but it's weird. It's because it's underground.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know what the objective is. If it's to
<v Speaker 4>make stars, I don't know how you translate that successfully
<v Speaker 4>to the normal on screen pro wrestling inside of a
<v Speaker 4>ring presentation.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know how you do it.
<v Speaker 4>And then you see I Ridick Moss, you had Dolph Ziggler.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, boy, if that isn't a just a perfect
<v Speaker 4>microcosm of Dolf Ziggler's career of going from main event
<v Speaker 4>challengehip for the championship and get kick back literally to
<v Speaker 4>the basement. I mean, that's just exactly what Dolveszego's.
<v Speaker 2>Career has been.
<v Speaker 4>He just cannot cannot get to the top. I mean
<v Speaker 4>he's fighting an underground, dirty basements or whatever wherever they
<v Speaker 4>were at the performance center. And then you have the
<v Speaker 4>hurt Business show up last week now this past week
<v Speaker 4>on Raw, dominate and attack everyone with Lashley and MVP
<v Speaker 4>and Shelton Benjamin. I don't know what to do with
<v Speaker 4>this right now. I don't have any feeling towards it.
<v Speaker 4>I just I'm just kind of numb. I just look
<v Speaker 4>at it, and I don't feel anything other than can
<v Speaker 4>we do something beyond a double lake takedown and like
<v Speaker 4>ground and pound it's double lake takedown, ground and pound.
<v Speaker 4>Can we just if you're gonna try to emulate UFC, like,
<v Speaker 4>can we have some kind of very variable here. I
<v Speaker 4>just feel nothing. I feel nothing for this other than
<v Speaker 4>just people changing the channel and going ooh, what's this?
<v Speaker 4>And it feels like just kind of a somebody to
<v Speaker 4>be caught while they're changing channels, rather than people, you know,
<v Speaker 4>messaging their friends like oh my god, you got to
<v Speaker 4>see this. Nobody's doing that. Nobody's doing that.
<v Speaker 3>It is absolutely the worst thing. I just look, I'm
<v Speaker 3>not going to sugarcoat how I feel about it. It's
<v Speaker 3>just garbage. It's pretend UFC if you put John Jones
<v Speaker 3>or anybody like Cormier or John excuse me, mister Spa
<v Speaker 3>who won the or retained his heavyweight title last night,
<v Speaker 3>into that situation, like they'll kill these guys, but there
<v Speaker 3>is no point. There is absolutely no point. So why
<v Speaker 3>do we have a segment that has no point? You know?
<v Speaker 3>And you talked about and a lot of people talked about,
<v Speaker 3>like how it went back to the brawl for all? Well,
<v Speaker 3>the brall for all was you can get fifty grand
<v Speaker 3>a new truck. There's nothing in this and we get
<v Speaker 3>to see a bunch of people we don't even care about.
<v Speaker 3>And more than that, we have a bunch of people
<v Speaker 3>on their masks that we don't know who they are
<v Speaker 3>and we probably don't even care about. More So, how
<v Speaker 3>do we have a program?
<v Speaker 4>I think, yeah, No, I think their thought is, hey,
<v Speaker 4>we're leaving the viewers with more questions than answers. That's
<v Speaker 4>how you should leave them. And yeah, that's a general
<v Speaker 4>rule of thumb, like you always want fans to want more.
<v Speaker 4>That's how I felt with every almost every single one
<v Speaker 4>Night Row during the Attitude era and during most of
<v Speaker 4>the Ruthless Aggression.
<v Speaker 3>It worked with Goldberg. Okay, it worked with Goldberg when
<v Speaker 3>when everybody's like, who is this guy? And he wouldn't
<v Speaker 3>cut a promo, like I'll give Kevin solved his problems, Like,
<v Speaker 3>don't cut a promo, just get mad, snort and walk away,
<v Speaker 3>and it was like wow, worked, and then you had
<v Speaker 3>to have his security walk him because of the end
<v Speaker 3>of you. It worked. Okay, you built one person, but
<v Speaker 3>we're not building anything right now.
<v Speaker 4>It really doesn't feel like it's because what's the end game.
<v Speaker 4>You can't translate this in front of a live audience
<v Speaker 4>to have to sit there and what watch it on
<v Speaker 4>the Titan Dround. They're gonna boo the hell out of it.
<v Speaker 3>Like exactly exactly this is.
<v Speaker 4>This is so shortsighted in my mind again because I
<v Speaker 4>don't know the whole plan. I'm not in the production meetings.
<v Speaker 4>This is just a fan talking about what I've seen
<v Speaker 4>so far. But I've watched wrestling long enough to know
<v Speaker 4>I don't think this has a long shelf life. If
<v Speaker 4>this was in front of fans in a real arena,
<v Speaker 4>they are going to destroy this. I mean, because it's
<v Speaker 4>not really.
<v Speaker 3>Want to result. Yeah sorry, I don't need to cut
<v Speaker 3>you off, but you want to result. I want to result.
<v Speaker 3>I want to know. So I don't feel like we're
<v Speaker 3>getting what we want, and I don't think that this
<v Speaker 3>is going to last without people.
<v Speaker 2>It's not.
<v Speaker 4>It's not going to last this is very short sighted
<v Speaker 4>of we need to change it up. Let's do something radical,
<v Speaker 4>and let's let's not do you know, quite our normal
<v Speaker 4>pro wrestling, but we're not really UFC.
<v Speaker 2>We're gonna do something in the middle.
<v Speaker 4>Is there really a market for something in the middle
<v Speaker 4>of that? Is there, like a Is anybody looking out
<v Speaker 4>there going we need a pro wrestling version of UFC?
<v Speaker 2>Does anybody saying no?
<v Speaker 4>And it's not one of those things of well you
<v Speaker 4>didn't know you needed it until you saw it.
<v Speaker 2>No, No, I.
<v Speaker 4>I want one or the other right like I don't
<v Speaker 4>right now. Again this is also a short sample size,
<v Speaker 4>but how I feel right now is it's just very
<v Speaker 4>numb of just what the hell is this? Of give
<v Speaker 4>me one or the other, don't give me something in between.
<v Speaker 4>That's because they don't mix you. You're you're you're doing
<v Speaker 4>a work and an actual shoot together. But we we
<v Speaker 4>still know it's a work, so it's even more of
<v Speaker 4>an obvious work when you're doing something that's supposed to
<v Speaker 4>be a shoot. That's it's it's bizarre. So let's please please,
<v Speaker 4>Like I don't know, I think it's gonna just be
<v Speaker 4>something more and more that they do and I know
<v Speaker 4>what they're trying to do, but they not. They're not
<v Speaker 4>thinking long terms. I kind of do, and maybe we'll
<v Speaker 4>be eating our words in like a month, but I
<v Speaker 4>highly doubt it, I really do.
<v Speaker 3>So to make the business better, it needs to go away.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, no it does.
<v Speaker 4>But hey, I think Vince is probably enthralled with this,
<v Speaker 4>with making sure that there are dancing women scantily clad
<v Speaker 4>up on the stage wherever they have, and it's just
<v Speaker 4>kind of this man's man's men's cave. I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know, like I could see Vince really trying
<v Speaker 4>to push this. So but moving on to something a
<v Speaker 4>little bit more interesting that's actually in the ring is Osca,
<v Speaker 4>who is now challenging for both championships at SummerSlam. She's
<v Speaker 4>challenging for Bailey's SmackDown Women's Championship and Sasha's Raw Women's Championship.
<v Speaker 4>I'll toss it to you, how do you feel about this?
<v Speaker 3>I think they're trying to combine the two easily, just
<v Speaker 3>to get the women's division down to a smaller scale,
<v Speaker 3>I think, but I know I'm not. I'm not sure
<v Speaker 3>if it's that or I'm not sure if they just
<v Speaker 3>want to have like two marquee matches with women, so
<v Speaker 3>it's up near to me. But because I know that
<v Speaker 3>all these girls can put on great matches, but I
<v Speaker 3>can also see it like they just they're gonna scale
<v Speaker 3>back the women's division. That's what I really see.
<v Speaker 2>It could be.
<v Speaker 4>I would think all the work that they've done, I
<v Speaker 4>don't believe that they will unify the championships. Now, if
<v Speaker 4>Oscar wins both, you know, I could be singing a
<v Speaker 4>different tune. But I don't see her winning both. In fact,
<v Speaker 4>I don't even see her winning either of them. I
<v Speaker 4>know it's Summer Slam, but if there was one that
<v Speaker 4>maybe she would win, I would say it's the Raw
<v Speaker 4>Women's Championship. If there was one, she was gonna win.
<v Speaker 4>But I don't know how this even came to be.
<v Speaker 4>Like I understand how she became the number one contender
<v Speaker 4>for the Raw Women's Championship by beating Bailey. They made
<v Speaker 4>her tap out, I get it, But what the hell
<v Speaker 4>is Oscar doing on SmackDown?
<v Speaker 3>Like?
<v Speaker 4>What how is she there? Did she get a free pass?
<v Speaker 3>Like?
<v Speaker 4>I mean, these are the things I don't know. It
<v Speaker 4>was never explained how did she get on the show.
<v Speaker 4>She's a raw, a raw superstar.
<v Speaker 2>How did she.
<v Speaker 4>Get in the tournament to then in the Battle Royal
<v Speaker 4>to challenge for the smack That Women's Championship makes no
<v Speaker 4>sense men zero And honestly, I'm not a fan of
<v Speaker 4>this also because it doesn't give any other woman an
<v Speaker 4>opportunity to face it against, face off against Bailey and Sasha,
<v Speaker 4>who're arguably the hot two hottest women in WWE right now.
<v Speaker 2>So how this.
<v Speaker 4>To me is like a number one a head scratching
<v Speaker 4>and WWE cannot ever ever stick to their draft rules ever,
<v Speaker 4>and this is certainly aday. Well, we don't need an explanation,
<v Speaker 4>just have her show up.
<v Speaker 2>Well, what the hell?
<v Speaker 3>Like?
<v Speaker 4>Then why even have a brand split? Just don't do
<v Speaker 4>a brand split if you just can't help yourself.
<v Speaker 2>Oh god, I can't stand it.
<v Speaker 4>They do this every time, like this is what really
<v Speaker 4>hurts the product. I understand they're in a pandemic. I
<v Speaker 4>understand they don't have probably everyone at their disposal. I
<v Speaker 4>get it, but at least maybe give us a garbage explanation.
<v Speaker 2>They gave us nothing.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, this gave us an explation in two thousand and
<v Speaker 3>two when they wanted to leave two different companies. That's
<v Speaker 3>why the brands that term. When he started doing that,
<v Speaker 3>he started promoting, he just started being an entertainer. Okay, brand,
<v Speaker 3>what's a brand? So, how's Raw brand? How's SmackDown brand?
<v Speaker 3>Because you know, red robes and blue robes? I hate
<v Speaker 3>this term, and I'm going to go off for a
<v Speaker 3>second because I'm it's two different shows by the same company,
<v Speaker 3>two different shows owned by the same company. The company
<v Speaker 3>is WW Ladies and Gentlemen. They own both. They just
<v Speaker 3>put different color for things on Thursdays or Friday, excuse me,
<v Speaker 3>Fridays or Mondays. That doesn't make it a brand. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>Nike's A six is a brand. They're not the same company,
<v Speaker 3>so therefore they're not a brand. So to think that
<v Speaker 3>Raw and SmackDown are competing against each other or their brands,
<v Speaker 3>that stop. If you're a wrestling fan, enlighten yours. There's
<v Speaker 3>no brand, there's one brand st The closest thing would
<v Speaker 3>be NXT, but then they had to say WWE presents
<v Speaker 3>NXT because Vince can't keep his little out of that.
<v Speaker 3>But brand that just.
<v Speaker 2>Come on, don't sorry, I mean a Survivors series.
<v Speaker 4>We'll be told that everybody has just incredible brand loyalty
<v Speaker 4>and that they will put all rivalries aside to fight
<v Speaker 4>against the person that maybe they were trying to kill
<v Speaker 4>just a week before, to fight for their brand. That
<v Speaker 4>oh yeah, it means nothing. By the way, don't worry
<v Speaker 4>that that happens. And in just a few months we'll
<v Speaker 4>get another brand loyalty pay per view of facing off
<v Speaker 4>against NXT and SmackDown and Raw. It's gonna be silly.
<v Speaker 4>What they've done to Survivor series is really really just
<v Speaker 4>it's terrible, and it's unbelievable that everybody just drops everything
<v Speaker 4>of the drop of a hat and goes, oh, calendars change, guys. Everyone,
<v Speaker 4>if you had personal issues, everyone needs to just forget
<v Speaker 4>about it, because now you suddenly care about the brand
<v Speaker 4>that you're on and you.
<v Speaker 2>Have just just this dying, just.
<v Speaker 4>Innate love for the brand you're on because at the
<v Speaker 4>end of the day, means zero. But hey, yeah, I'm
<v Speaker 4>with you on that. I totally totally get the brand.
<v Speaker 3>I know I could too. Seriously, if you listen to
<v Speaker 3>your brand like there's no brand, there's one brand show yep.
<v Speaker 2>I with you. I totally agree.
<v Speaker 4>You're cutting in and out a little bit just so
<v Speaker 4>you know. So I don't know if you've changed positions
<v Speaker 4>where you are, but uh so I got you. But yeah,
<v Speaker 4>look this whole brand loyalty thing, it'll come back in
<v Speaker 4>just a few months, so all right. I do have
<v Speaker 4>to ask, though, Jeff Hardy, Jeff Hardy is now seemingly
<v Speaker 4>challenging AJ Styles, and while the matchup itself, and at
<v Speaker 4>my quick take on this on SmackDown, I like this,
<v Speaker 4>Uh you know, Jeff Hardy versus AJ Styles when you
<v Speaker 4>put that on paper, I mean, yeah, Jeff Hardy is
<v Speaker 4>in the Jeff Hardy of two.
<v Speaker 2>Thousand and we get it.
<v Speaker 4>But he's still a pretty damn good close version of
<v Speaker 4>what he was. He's done a really good job, and
<v Speaker 4>I'd say he's outperformed what I thought he would and
<v Speaker 4>out outreach what I thought he would. Not quite to
<v Speaker 4>the level of Raymisterio upon his return, but certainly more
<v Speaker 4>than I thought he would, especially after Matt Hardy's departure.
<v Speaker 3>To a e W.
<v Speaker 4>I guess he's too busy getting split his head split
<v Speaker 4>open by Sammy Cavara.
<v Speaker 2>Uh so I didn't.
<v Speaker 4>It's just weird to me now, Jeff Hardy facing a
<v Speaker 4>J Staalas with the Intercommental Championship. I understand and and
<v Speaker 4>and having AJ came out there and talk about statisticians
<v Speaker 4>and the statistics.
<v Speaker 2>He was really clear on it.
<v Speaker 4>It was kind of weird about how basically nobody is
<v Speaker 4>even number two or three and that no one's worthy,
<v Speaker 4>no one is deserving. It was all about deserving, deserving, deserving,
<v Speaker 4>and actually I agree with that.
<v Speaker 3>Like as a heel, it was all TNA references, yes,
<v Speaker 3>and that's what I love you. Having Joseph Parks, which
<v Speaker 3>I still think that guy has one more match in
<v Speaker 3>him and I'd love to have him wrestle Bronstrom at
<v Speaker 3>one point. Just retire abits but brass tacks and baseball bets. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>that's it was. It was all like back politics kind
<v Speaker 3>of thing, like insider thing, like I mean, ratings are
<v Speaker 3>in the dumper, let's be honest, but they do like smart,
<v Speaker 3>uh you know, smarty kind of things. And that's that's
<v Speaker 3>what it was. But and I loved it. I loved it.
<v Speaker 3>But seeing Jeff against Agent one more time is gonna
<v Speaker 3>be amazing. It's gonna be amazing. And if if Jeff
<v Speaker 3>is good and he's not, you know, you know, I
<v Speaker 3>think it's gonna be one help match. I think it's
<v Speaker 3>gonna be, like, you know what, what what we want
<v Speaker 3>to see as an actual wrestling match, not a cinematic
<v Speaker 3>match and goofy stuff. So I really think that that
<v Speaker 3>can be special.
<v Speaker 2>It has the potential.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, on paid this match is already one of
<v Speaker 4>the most exciting matches on Summer Slam if it's gonna
<v Speaker 4>happen on Summer Slam again. We're told that next week
<v Speaker 4>the Interconminental Championship match is taking place, not in the
<v Speaker 4>Performance Center. We were told that the SmackDown is going
<v Speaker 4>live next week from another venue and it's probably good.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah yeah.
<v Speaker 4>And so here's the thing though, how they got to
<v Speaker 4>the Intercomeral Championship match was a little weird. I mean,
<v Speaker 4>I guess it's just if anybody has watched ww even
<v Speaker 4>for a year, you know, the way you get an
<v Speaker 4>opportunity is just attack the champion. I mean that is
<v Speaker 4>the only way. Apparently that was the way that Jeff
<v Speaker 4>Hardy earned the championship was just by attacking aj styles.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, he's did that whole spiel about statistics and
<v Speaker 4>things and really just said nobody's worthy nobody's worthy. Jeff,
<v Speaker 4>You're not worthy until you hit me, then you're worthy.
<v Speaker 4>I mean it's just like, wait, what Like I can't
<v Speaker 4>tell you how many times. That's how That's how you
<v Speaker 4>earn an opportunity. So that's how it happened. Whatever they
<v Speaker 4>got there. I think next week is going to be
<v Speaker 4>a false finish. I don't think we'll get a clean finish,
<v Speaker 4>which is why the Summer Slam. Yes, yeah, it's it's
<v Speaker 4>not going to be a really clean conclusion. Some kind
<v Speaker 4>of wonky stuff's gonna happen, which will end up being
<v Speaker 4>a rematch at Summer Slam. No, I agree completely, but hey,
<v Speaker 4>I'm looking forward to this.
<v Speaker 2>This is a match.
<v Speaker 4>I actually thought big Ee would be in this spot.
<v Speaker 4>I didn't think that would be Jeff Hardy. I thought
<v Speaker 4>big Ee would challenge for the Icy title. But they're
<v Speaker 4>taking the slow burn with Biggie as we discussed him
<v Speaker 4>a lot earlier.
<v Speaker 2>But and I'm fine with that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I really I would like I want to Biggie
<v Speaker 3>just getting his own. I wanted to see him break
<v Speaker 3>away and you know you've had the see him punk
<v Speaker 3>stuff and everything else, Like you know, you can't break
<v Speaker 3>up the new Day. Whatever, dude, it's time.
<v Speaker 6>They Yeah, it's time, and he's he's gonna be star.
<v Speaker 6>It's he could be a curd angle, he really could.
<v Speaker 6>He just he has plays cards, right, he has to
<v Speaker 6>deal with all this WWE people, Kevin Dunn.
<v Speaker 3>Everybody else. But I mean, brass, he has all the
<v Speaker 3>soles to be something special, not throwing pancakes, not being doofy.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, that's the best way I could put it.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, they took him out of the New Day, but
<v Speaker 4>the New Day didn't get taken out of him. He's
<v Speaker 4>just there's no other way to put it than that.
<v Speaker 2>I mean.
<v Speaker 4>So, but yeah, Biggie, Hopefully when the next time that
<v Speaker 4>you and I talk, Biggie will be well on his
<v Speaker 4>way from moving away from pancakes and cereal and selling
<v Speaker 4>New Day shirts and wearing weird or doing weird gyrations
<v Speaker 4>and all that. Basically, I don't want him cutting promos.
<v Speaker 4>I want him speaking from himself. But all right, uh
<v Speaker 4>so a couple of things here seth Rawlins lashing on dominic.
<v Speaker 2>How did you like that? All right?
<v Speaker 3>I loved it. I hated it only for one reason
<v Speaker 3>because I wanted Joe to do something more. I think
<v Speaker 3>this is more of a build for SSMO Joe to
<v Speaker 3>come back. But I don't know if you see that,
<v Speaker 3>but I really see that coming out uh down the pipeline.
<v Speaker 3>But uh, dude, that that lashing that was insane. I
<v Speaker 3>couldn't That was like an E C W lash. That
<v Speaker 3>was like a Terry funk On braving kind of just
<v Speaker 3>beating you, merciless. And Buddy Murphy, by the way, I'll
<v Speaker 3>still call him Buddy Murphy. That guy is way in
<v Speaker 3>shape and that guy needs to be pushed way more
<v Speaker 3>than he is. But yeah, I I I love the segment.
<v Speaker 3>I almost just cried for Dominic though, like because I
<v Speaker 3>know what it's like to be hurt, and wow, they
<v Speaker 3>hurt him.
<v Speaker 2>There's no doubt about it.
<v Speaker 4>For those that this honestly is a good segment to
<v Speaker 4>show one of your friends that always says wrestling is fake,
<v Speaker 4>this is a This is one of those like really
<v Speaker 4>is it check this out right?
<v Speaker 3>Uh? It?
<v Speaker 2>Uh? It was.
<v Speaker 4>It was hard to watch. There's no way it was.
<v Speaker 4>There's no way to fake this, And I think that
<v Speaker 4>was the idea. Was a supposed to be uncomfortable because
<v Speaker 4>we don't know. We don't know Dominic, Like for those
<v Speaker 4>that haven't really followed Dominic at all. I mean, and
<v Speaker 4>most of us haven't. He is, There's not a whole
<v Speaker 4>lot you know about it other than he's wearing Mysterios Son.
<v Speaker 4>There used to be a weird angle with him and
<v Speaker 4>Eddie Guerrero back in what two thousand and two, three
<v Speaker 4>four something like that where they fought for custody of Dominic.
<v Speaker 4>For those who don't know what I'm talking about, YouTube
<v Speaker 4>it and like we don't know anything outside of that.
<v Speaker 4>So I think it's a way to number one, garner
<v Speaker 4>sympathy from fans so that it's clear he's the babyface
<v Speaker 4>in this in this picture.
<v Speaker 2>And two it's.
<v Speaker 4>To get a little bit of respect for Dominic, because
<v Speaker 4>if we don't have respect for Dominic and we don't
<v Speaker 4>feel sympathetic for him, then we don't really care about
<v Speaker 4>the match. So it was a great way to ratchet
<v Speaker 4>both of those up. And it was brutal. I wouldn't
<v Speaker 4>be surprised if that leaves scarring.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, he.
<v Speaker 4>Almost drew blood through the skin. It was he did,
<v Speaker 4>it was, it was rough, and I'm you know, here's
<v Speaker 4>the thing, though, I will say that if Dominic wins
<v Speaker 4>at Summer Slam. I will probably I will label one
<v Speaker 4>of those episodes it's explicit it should not happen. After
<v Speaker 4>all the good that Seth Rollins has done, after everything
<v Speaker 4>that he's done done with as his money and at
<v Speaker 4>Messiah character, and he's built himself back up very nicely
<v Speaker 4>since WrestleMania and his loss at Money in the Bank
<v Speaker 4>against Drew McIntyre.
<v Speaker 2>He's done a.
<v Speaker 4>Great job of really just evolving in his character being
<v Speaker 4>kind of that sadistic but quiet the quiet kind of
<v Speaker 4>scary anger that he has and this delusion that he's
<v Speaker 4>fighting for the greater good and that you know, he's
<v Speaker 4>sacrificing people, all that stuff that I'm loving what Seth
<v Speaker 4>Rollins is doing. So if Dominic wins, I will be
<v Speaker 4>severely disappointed. And basically, he looks like a and then look,
<v Speaker 4>this is just the way Dominic looks, but he kind
<v Speaker 4>of looks like he's he looks like a little like,
<v Speaker 4>you know, freshman in college, like he's out there playing
<v Speaker 4>wrestling and he just has that young look. So if
<v Speaker 4>he even comes close to beating Seth Rowlins, I will
<v Speaker 4>be very unhappy. Seth Rowlins a guy that was handpicked
<v Speaker 4>by the by the authority, carried the championship for many
<v Speaker 4>many months, made events in wrestler or cashed in the
<v Speaker 4>money in the bank at WrestleMania in one of the
<v Speaker 4>most iconic moments in WrestleMania history WrestleMania thirty one the
<v Speaker 4>Heists of the Century. As Michael Cole called it, I
<v Speaker 4>mean a guy that was a champion, champion, what's.
<v Speaker 3>That, Tyle Black?
<v Speaker 4>Tyler Black? Yeah, I mean this should not even be close.
<v Speaker 3>No, it shouldn't. There should be no way in hell
<v Speaker 3>that he even comes close. He should have his ass
<v Speaker 3>beat pillar to post. But it's a learning project and
<v Speaker 3>that'll create I could see a five year storyline, which
<v Speaker 3>would be beautiful for because they don't even know what
<v Speaker 3>a storyline is these days, but that would be the
<v Speaker 3>most beautiful thing, Like they could serve something now. But
<v Speaker 3>the kids getting himself in better shape. And I'll give
<v Speaker 3>him that. But you're not You're not going to be
<v Speaker 3>Tyler Black. You're not gonna be seth Rawlins. I mean
<v Speaker 3>seth Rolls gets paid multiple million dollars a year for
<v Speaker 3>a reason, you know, And and it doesn't matter if
<v Speaker 3>if you're a mysterious kid. His contract expired no one cares.
<v Speaker 3>I hate to say it, but yeah, you were the
<v Speaker 3>best loose door in the world at one point. But
<v Speaker 3>your son isn't you know?
<v Speaker 2>My father.
<v Speaker 3>Was a Ford observer in Vietnam. He saved a lot
<v Speaker 3>of lives and he does a lot of things, but
<v Speaker 3>I didn't. Instead, I run restaurants, some night clubs. It's
<v Speaker 3>all different life. So I can't go into his life.
<v Speaker 3>He can't go into mind. You know, it's just different life.
<v Speaker 3>So I don't want to see, you know, Dominic go
<v Speaker 3>over to Tyler. Sorry it's Indie and me, but I
<v Speaker 3>don't want to see like Seth lows to Dominic, it's
<v Speaker 3>it's it be terrible. It's really that bookie. Where do
<v Speaker 3>you go? And then you have Buddy Murphy who is
<v Speaker 3>jacked and looking great, and what do you do with him?
<v Speaker 3>Absolutely nothing. That guy needs something, he needs the storyline.
<v Speaker 3>And man, the guy can work.
<v Speaker 4>There is no better worker. I mean, I wouldn't say
<v Speaker 4>there is no, but he is in like top five
<v Speaker 4>for me in terms of workers in w w A.
<v Speaker 4>He may have had the most felamboyant personality, or some
<v Speaker 4>people think he may not be the most marketable, but
<v Speaker 4>holy you know, what like Bundy Murphy can go. He
<v Speaker 4>is a top, top level guy that is being pushed
<v Speaker 4>as Seth Rollins Lackey. And look, it's better that he's
<v Speaker 4>Seth Rolinds Lackey than just being buried in the mid
<v Speaker 4>card or the lower card just kind of as some
<v Speaker 4>kind of joke. And so I like that he's at
<v Speaker 4>least getting main event, main event exposure, even if he's
<v Speaker 4>not truly the main event. So it's really it's better
<v Speaker 4>than where he could be. What the alternative is. But
<v Speaker 4>if Dominic beats a guy that beat brock Lesner at
<v Speaker 4>last year's WrestleMania at this past year WrestleMania thirty five,
<v Speaker 4>I mean.
<v Speaker 2>You can't do it.
<v Speaker 4>And yeah, you can have Dominic have a quick couple
<v Speaker 4>of hope spots where he gets some good hits in,
<v Speaker 4>but in no way should he ever come close to
<v Speaker 4>beating Seth I will. I mean the thing is, I
<v Speaker 4>wouldn't totally write this off though, like as so much
<v Speaker 4>as we're saying there's just no way, I would not
<v Speaker 4>put it past WWA to say, hey, no one's expecting
<v Speaker 4>Dominic to win. How cool would that be to have
<v Speaker 4>Dominic's first match in w w beat Seth Rollins because
<v Speaker 4>this is his first match.
<v Speaker 2>I'm scared.
<v Speaker 4>I'm really worried for Seth Rollins right now if they
<v Speaker 4>do go that way, because I could see them try
<v Speaker 4>to make a case for it.
<v Speaker 2>That's what scares me.
<v Speaker 3>No, I get that night. I get that fear too,
<v Speaker 3>because I mean, they screw everybody, you know, they they
<v Speaker 3>they've screwed Sony. So many people coming up that day. God, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it's it makes me angry, how many people that they
<v Speaker 3>just could have had so much potential. Now, Vince James's
<v Speaker 3>he's not pick. You know, I don't want to watch
<v Speaker 3>him shout that's that's Vince. It's real, it is, And
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I'm just worried. But all right, moving on, just one
<v Speaker 4>or two more things here. I'll toss it to you,
<v Speaker 4>and then I also want to ask you at the
<v Speaker 4>end here about just your some of your Summer Slam picks.
<v Speaker 4>I know it's not a prediction show officially, but since
<v Speaker 4>we're not going to be together for the Summer Slam
<v Speaker 4>preview or even probably a week or so after that,
<v Speaker 4>it's it's going to be three four weeks or so,
<v Speaker 4>so at the end of this yeah, so definitely at
<v Speaker 4>the end of this, I want to ask you your
<v Speaker 4>quick predictions on that. But Selena Vega got a match
<v Speaker 4>this week for the first time and maybe ever that
<v Speaker 4>I've seen her have a match in w W Maine
<v Speaker 4>or main roster. She'd was against Bianca bell Air, who
<v Speaker 4>to me. To me, honestly, the way that they booked this,
<v Speaker 4>it should have been the reverse of heel face because
<v Speaker 4>you have Bianca bell Air, he's got a hot head
<v Speaker 4>and is just yelling and screaming at Selena Vega with
<v Speaker 4>no evidence. And even after the match she was asked
<v Speaker 4>point blank, what evidence do you have? She had no answer.
<v Speaker 4>It's just a hunch that that's what happened. Is Elena
<v Speaker 4>Vega poisoned montes Ford, Right, So, like no evidence, just
<v Speaker 4>ghetto I mean ghetto and a ghetto explanation. I don't
<v Speaker 4>mean that racistly. She's very she just she she speaks, Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>like she's kind of doing a disservice to herself by
<v Speaker 4>speaking the way she does in a way that's just
<v Speaker 4>very off putting.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sorry, it's off putting.
<v Speaker 4>And she's accusing Zelena Vega and attacks her based on
<v Speaker 4>zero evidence other than just a hunch, and Selena Vega
<v Speaker 4>is still denying.
<v Speaker 2>She poisoned him.
<v Speaker 4>And uh so, Selena Vega to me should have been
<v Speaker 4>the baby face here. And Bianca bela Aiir is the heel.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, Bianca Belaiir is a heel to me anyway.
<v Speaker 4>I'm not a fan of her, just her personality.
<v Speaker 2>She's excellent in the ring.
<v Speaker 3>She is she must face, but she definitely the heel.
<v Speaker 3>She excuse the heels? Yeah yeah, okay, So in my situation,
<v Speaker 3>first of all, having Selena Big god dame, my my stuggorn,
<v Speaker 3>Selena lose h and then you know the match was terrible, okay,
<v Speaker 3>but the fact that she lost and Dawkins won also,
<v Speaker 3>so you have a double win for your supposed baby faces.
<v Speaker 3>So why do you even have anything else after that?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>That's what that's that's It's like, okay, so we're gonna
<v Speaker 3>have a tag team match after this, and you poison
<v Speaker 3>Montese Wort, but Dawkins is gonna, you know, wrestle one
<v Speaker 3>of you guys, and and and Andrade, who this guy
<v Speaker 3>is so talented. I don't I lost in the tag
<v Speaker 3>team division. He's he's lost in being ethnic. That's Vince's world.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sorry, I'll say it, and I'll take credit for
<v Speaker 3>saying it, but that's what it is. And he loses.
<v Speaker 3>He shouldn't have lost because he's way more talented than
<v Speaker 3>Angelo Dawkins. And so then we get a retribution between
<v Speaker 3>you know, Selena and Bianca Bella Air and same same thing.
<v Speaker 3>It's like, so, how much candy do you want to
<v Speaker 3>shove down my throat? Before I realize I don't like
<v Speaker 3>Sugar's the best way I could put it.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, I've said this before, but it continues to
<v Speaker 4>be true every single week. Are are Zelena Vega, Andrade
<v Speaker 4>and Angel Guards ever gonna get a win? I mean,
<v Speaker 4>I think they won a match maybe last week, but
<v Speaker 4>their record has to be like one in ten, like
<v Speaker 4>they can, and they're a newly formed group.
<v Speaker 2>And then they start.
<v Speaker 4>Feuding with one another with or Andrade and Angel Guards
<v Speaker 4>and no one cares because they're both heels, So like,
<v Speaker 4>why are we supposed to care about what they're feued?
<v Speaker 4>Is because they've been together all of like ten seconds,
<v Speaker 4>So can we please get them on a roll? They
<v Speaker 4>have done nothing but lose since they they formed, and
<v Speaker 4>that's not the way a group should start out. I mean,
<v Speaker 4>that's just pro wrestling logic. You get a group that's
<v Speaker 4>newly formed, they go.
<v Speaker 2>On to tear. That's just what happens.
<v Speaker 4>And this group with Selena Vega, who's one of the
<v Speaker 4>best managers right now in WWE, if not the best
<v Speaker 4>manager in WWE, and probably the best talker in WWE,
<v Speaker 4>is certainly not. Like without heard, this group would be
<v Speaker 4>completely decimated.
<v Speaker 2>But how are they continuing to lose?
<v Speaker 4>And as E said, Angela Dawkins, look, he may be
<v Speaker 4>higher on the card, so to speak, but in ring
<v Speaker 4>he is not. He couldn't had a hold a candle
<v Speaker 4>to us. Yeah, I mean, let's be honest. Montes Ford,
<v Speaker 4>on the other hand, ultra athletic. Montes Ford is like
<v Speaker 4>stupid athletic, and the height he gets on some of
<v Speaker 4>the things on some of his jumps off the top
<v Speaker 4>rope are just otherworldly.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Sorry, I'm sorry, I'm cutting you off. I apologize. But
<v Speaker 3>he cannot tell a story like I mean, he does
<v Speaker 3>not tell a story in the ring, like Ford cannot
<v Speaker 3>tell story, Neisla can Dawkins. But like, no, how do
<v Speaker 3>I put it? There's so many Russell's that just the
<v Speaker 3>antlo mart could put a story in the ring against
<v Speaker 3>the barbarian and you make it work for five or
<v Speaker 3>ten minutes and you buy it. I don't buy anything
<v Speaker 3>that that Angelo Dawkins does in a squash. He he
<v Speaker 3>has nothing to show.
<v Speaker 4>Well, they spent how many weeks at high school gymnasiums
<v Speaker 4>and and all these other just awful, awful segments of
<v Speaker 4>anything you can do. I can do better with the
<v Speaker 4>Street Profit or the Viking Raiders. And it became, I mean,
<v Speaker 4>really the biggest victim here with the braw tag team
<v Speaker 4>titles that were really hurt by those by those.
<v Speaker 2>Just silly antics.
<v Speaker 4>And so you have this team again, you have Bionca
<v Speaker 4>bell Air, you have Angela Dawkins and Montese Ford and
<v Speaker 4>I just don't understand why we're supposed to like Bianca
<v Speaker 4>bell Air here, I mean with this match, like, what
<v Speaker 4>what is the what is the redeeming quality of Biancare
<v Speaker 4>bell Air? She's again, she is so good in the ring.
<v Speaker 4>She had a great showing at the Royal Rumble. It
<v Speaker 4>has nothing to do with her entering. Problem is she's
<v Speaker 4>ultra athletics. She's great in the ring.
<v Speaker 2>That's not the problem. The problem is that she is.
<v Speaker 4>Extremely unlikable, extremely unlikable, and has no evidence whatsoever other
<v Speaker 4>than just a hunch, and attacks Zelena Vega based on
<v Speaker 4>that hunch of we think he was poisoned, well, we
<v Speaker 4>don't even know if for sure if he was poisoned.
<v Speaker 4>They couldn't tell this money he's coming back. They had
<v Speaker 4>no evidence to present. And we're supposed to side with
<v Speaker 4>Bianca bell Air because what she has really long hair,
<v Speaker 4>because she's athletic and is to your point about telling
<v Speaker 4>stories that Jim Nanvil Nightheart. Yeah, the problem is that
<v Speaker 4>and this is a this is a slippery slope, and
<v Speaker 4>I will try to catch myself because this is something
<v Speaker 4>that is probably the number one issue I have in
<v Speaker 4>pro wrestling presentation of twenty twenty.
<v Speaker 2>And this goes across all promotions, not just WWE.
<v Speaker 4>But the fact that athleticism has been uh has been
<v Speaker 4>prioritized over storytelling is to me the biggest sin against
<v Speaker 4>against professional wrestling as a sport, because when you start
<v Speaker 4>putting at is over storytelling, emotional investment goes down and
<v Speaker 4>it becomes just a spotfest. And I mean there's no
<v Speaker 4>other way to I'll leave it at that.
<v Speaker 3>You and I agree on this stuff. But this so
<v Speaker 3>of f our podcasts are not as popular as when
<v Speaker 3>you are with Ashley or anybody else because the fact
<v Speaker 3>that like you and I agree on these things, like I,
<v Speaker 3>I don't want to see a spot fest. I want
<v Speaker 3>to see actual pro wrestling, Like the Pat McAfee thing.
<v Speaker 3>Let's talk about that. I'm disgusted by it. I do
<v Speaker 3>not want to see him anywhere near a pro wrestling ring.
<v Speaker 3>And the fact that he was even you know, years ago,
<v Speaker 3>like five six years ago, he had a podcast that
<v Speaker 3>was associated with a of guys from pro wrestling Torch.
<v Speaker 3>I want to say, oh god, what ended up? I
<v Speaker 3>can't remember the name. But the point is to listen
<v Speaker 3>to you know, Pat mcfee's, and I was like, this
<v Speaker 3>guy just I guess I've been listening to it a
<v Speaker 3>long time and been a fan long timer. Then you
<v Speaker 3>know he's talking about spotfests and stuff like that, like
<v Speaker 3>I'm a I'm really not a fan. And get the
<v Speaker 3>fact that he always wanted to be a wrestler. That's great.
<v Speaker 3>I always wanted to play the center for the New
<v Speaker 3>York Knicks. But guess what, I'm five tot eleven, so
<v Speaker 3>I cant have dreams. I don't have a million people
<v Speaker 3>give me a million dollars to make me a joke,
<v Speaker 3>and that's what he is.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, well, put dude, I mean yeah, I have
<v Speaker 4>no interest in that either. I think that that is
<v Speaker 4>one of the reasons why AW is really starting to
<v Speaker 4>kick n XT's ass. I mean, on top of the
<v Speaker 4>fact that MJF is probably and again this is my
<v Speaker 4>just my personal opinion, is probably the best heel in
<v Speaker 4>the entire professional wrestling industry right now.
<v Speaker 2>I mean I'm.
<v Speaker 4>Talking across all promotions that I watch, and this is
<v Speaker 4>a very very subjective thing. It's like asking, what's who's
<v Speaker 4>your mount on your mount rushmore of wrestling, and I
<v Speaker 4>get it. But to me right now, outside of Randy Yorton,
<v Speaker 4>and that's the last thing I want to talk to
<v Speaker 4>you about, he might very well be the best heel
<v Speaker 4>in professional wrestling today, period. I mean, he gets it.
<v Speaker 4>He's young, he has a lot of years in front
<v Speaker 4>of him to even get better. He's undefeated in singles
<v Speaker 4>competition in AEW his speech that he did his State
<v Speaker 4>of the what was it, I forget it was not
<v Speaker 4>the State of the Union, but he basically called out
<v Speaker 4>John Moxley being Dictator John. A couple of weeks ago,
<v Speaker 4>it was viewed I don't know how many millions of
<v Speaker 4>times on YouTube, got tons of publicity, and I think
<v Speaker 4>was a big contributor to the spiking ratings for AW
<v Speaker 4>the last.
<v Speaker 2>Couple of weeks.
<v Speaker 4>And uh so to me, I mean MJF again is
<v Speaker 4>one of the true heels that gets it. Like he
<v Speaker 4>doesn't go for cool heel.
<v Speaker 3>He's he's playing his character, he's living his character. It
<v Speaker 3>mc foley's book. When he talked about DDP, it was
<v Speaker 3>DDP and they said they were like going through a
<v Speaker 3>toll booth and a lady said, how you doing? And
<v Speaker 3>he said, if I was doing any better, there'd be
<v Speaker 3>two of me or something like that. And McK foley
<v Speaker 3>looked at Vader, and Vader said, he's going to make
<v Speaker 3>it news. How do you know, he said, because he's gimmick.
<v Speaker 3>MJF is limming, living gimmick. And everybody says like he's
<v Speaker 3>a for man's Randy Orton, he's a young Rick Flair.
<v Speaker 4>That's a hell of a compliment.
<v Speaker 2>But I think you're right.
<v Speaker 3>I do.
<v Speaker 4>I would not say he's he's not even the same
<v Speaker 4>look Randy Orton is a different kind of healed. Randy
<v Speaker 4>Orton has got how many I mean, he's been in
<v Speaker 4>the wrestling business twenty years, right, MJF has been in
<v Speaker 4>a e W since its existence, but he has.
<v Speaker 3>Bought calling him MLW and other stuff.
<v Speaker 4>So right, but he's probably double the age of MJF.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, so.
<v Speaker 4>I don't like the comparison of the two because they're
<v Speaker 4>different styles. But MJF, if anybody's following on a Twitter
<v Speaker 4>or social media, he does not pull any punches. I
<v Speaker 4>mean some of the things that he does and says,
<v Speaker 4>like in his Facebook page or downright hilarious, just just
<v Speaker 4>destroying Stephanie McMahon for some posts she put up, uh
<v Speaker 4>comparing like and what he did shoving the security guard
<v Speaker 4>aside when Samoa Joe shoved him aside when he was
<v Speaker 4>security for Samoa Joe.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, he doesn't care.
<v Speaker 4>No, there's no boundaries, there's nothing.
<v Speaker 2>It's not like corporate.
<v Speaker 4>Is that that that that overarching dark cloud of corporate
<v Speaker 4>having to go to the office and get approval for this,
<v Speaker 4>and that he just does whatever the hell he wants.
<v Speaker 4>And that's what I love about the culture of AW
<v Speaker 4>They're letting him do anything that.
<v Speaker 3>He is like honestly, he is going to be so.
<v Speaker 3>Originally I wrote a post for you long time ago
<v Speaker 3>about wrestling and where I thought wrestling was going. This
<v Speaker 3>was like a year ago in UH, I think October
<v Speaker 3>and uh. One of one of the big things was
<v Speaker 3>Chris Jericho's uh his his what excuse me? Hold on? Okay?
<v Speaker 3>I got burps when Chris Jericho like his big debut,
<v Speaker 3>and I think the next big big debut is going
<v Speaker 3>to be MJF. It's going to be the next big one.
<v Speaker 3>It's going to be the next blow your minds off,
<v Speaker 3>and it'll be w W.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>And I thought, that's funny you bring that up because
<v Speaker 4>I thought about that today. I said, would MJF be
<v Speaker 4>as successful as he is today if you're if you
<v Speaker 4>were in WWE, and or even if he was brought
<v Speaker 4>in and they gave him a stupid amount of money
<v Speaker 4>and he came towe. I think that'd be the worst
<v Speaker 4>thing that can happen for m JF right now, because
<v Speaker 4>I think the the corporate culture, the toxicity of that
<v Speaker 4>would quickly deflate MJF and he would be so handcuffed
<v Speaker 4>by what he can when he can't say. And what
<v Speaker 4>makes him great is I think partially the culture of
<v Speaker 4>AW allowing him to do whatever he wants. There's not
<v Speaker 4>a lot of hey, don't do this or don't say that.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, he knows, he can't say F this or
<v Speaker 4>f that. He knows, like the basics, but they don't
<v Speaker 4>give him a structured, micromanaged promo to come out there
<v Speaker 4>and say. And I have very very big hesitations of
<v Speaker 4>him coming to WWE because I feel like he would
<v Speaker 4>be completely handcuffed in this PG era and that it
<v Speaker 4>would really really sour his character. That that really makes
<v Speaker 4>him so damn great in AEW is what I don't
<v Speaker 4>think would thrive in WWE is even though ww is
<v Speaker 4>a bigger platform, no doubt and has way more viewers,
<v Speaker 4>I don't know if he would his character would be
<v Speaker 4>as successful as if he just wrote it out with
<v Speaker 4>AW as he currently is right now.
<v Speaker 3>So well, same to EC three. I mean, you know,
<v Speaker 3>I know his cousin and fight seriously EC three should
<v Speaker 3>he should be? How did they mess that up twice?
<v Speaker 3>How do you mess that up twice? You know? And yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I just don't get that. And and you know, I'll
<v Speaker 3>tell you one. One really quick funny story is the
<v Speaker 3>fact that I actually ran into him at a grocery store.
<v Speaker 3>They did a W A W A I W it's
<v Speaker 3>an Ohio for promotion for he did a show that
<v Speaker 3>was behind him. He was just getting like a dozen
<v Speaker 3>eggs and milk and I was like, yeah, you're eac three.
<v Speaker 3>He's like yeah. He's like, I just want to go
<v Speaker 3>home and eat my eggs. And I was like, that's
<v Speaker 3>a dozen eggs. He's like, yeah, gotta stay in shape.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, a dozen Eggscuse you, I mean maybe egg whites.
<v Speaker 4>I hope it wasn't all you know, cholesterol. I mean like, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I didn't.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't. I didn't question after that. But yeah, So
<v Speaker 3>long story short, there are so many people like Eric Young.
<v Speaker 3>There's some people that they have lost touch with and
<v Speaker 3>just I don't know, man, You and I are brilliant. Man.
<v Speaker 3>We can book stuff on the fly just talking to
<v Speaker 3>each other and and and ww. They just can't get it.
<v Speaker 3>They can't figure out what to do with people. It
<v Speaker 3>discussed me because we're supposed to be the fan. We're
<v Speaker 3>why do you have podcasts? Why am I a guest?
<v Speaker 3>Because we are fans? Are we fans anymore, or are we.
<v Speaker 4>Discussing Well, I think that no matter what happens, and
<v Speaker 4>I say that fairly confidently, even though there are certain limits.
<v Speaker 4>But I think that we are so plugged into what
<v Speaker 4>pro wrestling is, and we've been so drawn in and
<v Speaker 4>had so many great moments as wrestling fans that I
<v Speaker 4>don't know if there's anything that could happen that we
<v Speaker 4>I would completely say I'm done, I'm done watching wrestling.
<v Speaker 2>Like we may think it.
<v Speaker 4>We may think it in the moment as a knee
<v Speaker 4>jerk reaction of like, oh my god, this is terrible,
<v Speaker 4>Like you and I hate the cinematic versions of what
<v Speaker 4>ww's done with their matches. Yeah, but yeah, we still
<v Speaker 4>come back. We may complain, but we still come back.
<v Speaker 4>And that's because we love what wrestling is. We know
<v Speaker 4>how good it can be, and when we call it
<v Speaker 4>out and we see garbage, we call it out because
<v Speaker 4>we know it could be better. But the fact is
<v Speaker 4>that the problem with wrestling, when it gets in your blood,
<v Speaker 4>it's there forever. So we may complain, we may say
<v Speaker 4>this is terrible, it's terrible, but we end up coming
<v Speaker 4>back every time. It's like a drug, it's a drug
<v Speaker 4>that you can't really cure yourself of, and we just
<v Speaker 4>we just take it, even if it's not the greatest
<v Speaker 4>thing ever, we still take it because we know we
<v Speaker 4>need it, and we we like the we love the genre.
<v Speaker 2>That's just the way it is.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, so, uh, all right, well, one last thing
<v Speaker 4>before I get to your SummerSlam thoughts, and this is
<v Speaker 4>probably hopefully going to end up on a positive note.
<v Speaker 4>Randy Orton and Rick Flair. The segment that was very
<v Speaker 4>emotional from Rick Flair, very emotional that he tapped into
<v Speaker 4>some part of him that was there that was real,
<v Speaker 4>because my god, his son was brought up. I would
<v Speaker 4>assume that he okayed that he wasn't brought up by me.
<v Speaker 4>He Reid wasn't said, but he, you know, Randy and
<v Speaker 4>said I'm the son that you wish you had or
<v Speaker 4>something like that, and that was it was in bad taste.
<v Speaker 4>But I mean, I would assume Rick Flair said, that's fine,
<v Speaker 4>let's let's do it. I mean this for this for
<v Speaker 4>an angle, let's do it, and having Randy Orton suck
<v Speaker 4>her in. Rick Flair ultimately just to low blow him
<v Speaker 4>and kick him in the head. Uh, what did you
<v Speaker 4>think of this, did you again? I know the read
<v Speaker 4>you're not a fan of, but even having Drew McIntyre
<v Speaker 4>come out at the end and say that, even him,
<v Speaker 4>even him and just stare down Randy Yorton in a
<v Speaker 4>way that I haven't seen a great stare down in
<v Speaker 4>a while.
<v Speaker 2>That was really good. But what did you think?
<v Speaker 3>I am? First of all, I don't want anybody to
<v Speaker 3>talk about that like it just I don't know why
<v Speaker 3>it cringes me, but it's personal to me, I guess
<v Speaker 3>because I remember like twenty ten when Reid died and me,
<v Speaker 3>I'm a huge Rick Flair fan, Like if he asked
<v Speaker 3>me who's number one, Tim, then one number two. The
<v Speaker 3>fact is brass tacks and baseball bats and it doesn't matter,
<v Speaker 3>like you don't talk about his kids. And it was
<v Speaker 3>good TV. It was bad uh bad policy, it was
<v Speaker 3>bad company, It was bad I I don't know. It
<v Speaker 3>left a sour taste in my mouth, but I know
<v Speaker 3>where they were going with that, and that's okay, and
<v Speaker 3>I get it, but I just didn't like it. I
<v Speaker 3>don't know why it really stung me so much. I
<v Speaker 3>think because it was rip player and then you know
<v Speaker 3>the punt everything you know the punt. I didn't care
<v Speaker 3>about the punt. Like I knew that was coming. I
<v Speaker 3>knew Rick had to be taken off. Excuse me taking
<v Speaker 3>off television, But I don't know. I it's just you
<v Speaker 3>don't talk about the kid odeed. I mean, it's it's
<v Speaker 3>it's not cool. So that's what I have to say.
<v Speaker 4>It certainly just it is on the verge of do
<v Speaker 4>you really need to bring that up? And and like
<v Speaker 4>you said, if somebody out there has dealt with something
<v Speaker 4>like this, I think affects more than somebody, more than
<v Speaker 4>they that hasn't had to deal with this, and luckily
<v Speaker 4>I haven't. Like luckily that that has not been something
<v Speaker 4>I've had to experience in my life with anybody that
<v Speaker 4>I've known with that type of thing. And so I
<v Speaker 4>guess I'm not as effected on a personal level when
<v Speaker 4>something like this is mentioned. However, I can see where
<v Speaker 4>it would be extremely I guess triggering for somebody that
<v Speaker 4>may have had something like this happened or known someone
<v Speaker 4>that has had something like this happened. So they're treading
<v Speaker 4>on thin ice again. I mean I've said this earlier
<v Speaker 4>with the whole retribution and playing on the riots that
<v Speaker 4>are going on now. They certainly are pushing the limits
<v Speaker 4>on that one too, And I know what they're doing.
<v Speaker 4>They're going for shock value. They're going for Randy Yorton
<v Speaker 4>doesn't care that he's bringing up Rick Flair's dead son,
<v Speaker 4>and that is extremely insensitive, and they're trying to get
<v Speaker 4>the heat on Randy. Unfortunately, when you go this far,
<v Speaker 4>the heats on the company, Like you know, that's that's
<v Speaker 4>the difference is because we know Randy Orton was okay
<v Speaker 4>to say this, but is the heat really on Randy
<v Speaker 4>for saying it, or is the heat on the company
<v Speaker 4>for something like this?
<v Speaker 2>Again?
<v Speaker 3>He so, yeah, it's it's you know, I don't know
<v Speaker 3>if if it's really the company or if it's BS
<v Speaker 3>or you know. I of course they want you to
<v Speaker 3>believe it, but I don't believe it, of course, because
<v Speaker 3>I've been following this for and I mean, Randy is
<v Speaker 3>playing a great He's playing probably one of the best heels,
<v Speaker 3>but I'm not going to say the best heal in
<v Speaker 3>the game. He is playing a great hel and I
<v Speaker 3>embrace him. I love him. I since day one, and
<v Speaker 3>I and a lot of people have given me a
<v Speaker 3>lot of flak for this because they never believed that.
<v Speaker 3>I thought that he was a better worker than John Cena.
<v Speaker 2>But he is.
<v Speaker 3>Because Randy Orton went out every day and gave you
<v Speaker 3>a great match. John was big match John. Figure it out. Now.
<v Speaker 3>With that being said, just there's there's some some stuff
<v Speaker 3>you just don't touch. That's I mean, I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>I can I open up.
<v Speaker 2>It's up to you. Man.
<v Speaker 3>So well, in my life, I've had problems with alcoholism.
<v Speaker 3>I've had problems with you know, abuse and not abusing people,
<v Speaker 3>but the abused. I've had a lot of problems in
<v Speaker 3>my life. My escape was resting.
<v Speaker 2>And hey, I mean I I sympathize.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, luckily again, Luckily I haven't I haven't had
<v Speaker 4>to deal with with things like that. And like you said,
<v Speaker 4>bringing up something like this is just like they did
<v Speaker 4>with Jeff Hardy and Shamus when Jeff Hardy and they
<v Speaker 4>continue to talk about him being a junkie and he
<v Speaker 4>has alcohol problems and tempting him with alcohol and like,
<v Speaker 4>don't do that, especially today, right, like when people around
<v Speaker 4>the world are more depressed than ever given the last
<v Speaker 4>five months of a lockdown. You know, maybe they lost
<v Speaker 4>their job, like you know, I don't know why, of
<v Speaker 4>all times they need to do this kind of stuff
<v Speaker 4>right now. It's the worst timing in the world to
<v Speaker 4>be talking about these things in which there's record numbers
<v Speaker 4>of people who are going on antidepressants, record numbers of
<v Speaker 4>people who are taking their own lives because of their
<v Speaker 4>life situation, Like it's happening. Why are we talking about
<v Speaker 4>doing this or even for a wrestling angle wrestling angles? Again,
<v Speaker 4>I talked about this at the beginning the show, like, Hey,
<v Speaker 4>this is the sandbox. We are playing in the sandbox.
<v Speaker 2>Why do we.
<v Speaker 4>Need to bring in real life into the into the
<v Speaker 4>into the playground. That's not That's why we go here
<v Speaker 4>is to escape from things. Why am I being reminded
<v Speaker 4>of it while I'm you know, at the playground.
<v Speaker 2>We shouldn't be That should not be a thing.
<v Speaker 4>And and again I I I know that as a
<v Speaker 4>person who has not experienced these things, it's hard for
<v Speaker 4>me to relate. But at the same time, I'm aware
<v Speaker 4>that they probably shouldn't be doing these things. I'm smart
<v Speaker 4>enough to know that they shouldn't be really bringing these
<v Speaker 4>in for what a little bit more if you more
<v Speaker 4>what like a headline, you know, I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>It's no, it's terrible because there's no ratings. Pop okay,
<v Speaker 3>like somebody like me, who's I mean, I had problems,
<v Speaker 3>I'll call okay. So I see Matt hardy or hardy,
<v Speaker 3>but it makes me angry. And then I see a
<v Speaker 3>no time like shameless, like going over him, and I'm
<v Speaker 3>going like, why do we even like wake up and
<v Speaker 3>book things? Oh that's right, because we're ww you know
<v Speaker 3>my mindset. It's it's you know, he gets a little
<v Speaker 3>convoluted and sometimes a little I don't know how to
<v Speaker 3>put it, but you know, I don't. I don't know
<v Speaker 3>if I should have shared as much as I have.
<v Speaker 3>But the point is I believe in like taking care
<v Speaker 3>of people and stuff like that. And I don't want
<v Speaker 3>like the syrpy like John Cena, like oh god, everybody's
<v Speaker 3>gonna be okay, like heroes. I don't like that. I
<v Speaker 3>like the seampongs like the because that was like me,
<v Speaker 3>like you know, it was it was gritty, but it
<v Speaker 3>was life, you know. And WWE's so going back to
<v Speaker 3>so many bad places with the Miz and Shamus and God,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know how many bad other decisions. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>I really honestly would put Hardy and I wouldn't put
<v Speaker 3>him in a a place with is this past for
<v Speaker 3>a storyline? But I haven't putting people over. There's people
<v Speaker 3>to put over. You know, there's good talent and they're
<v Speaker 3>not seeing a thing. They're not seeing anything. That's the
<v Speaker 3>thing that's hurting business and the most.
<v Speaker 4>That's always about building new stars. I mean it always
<v Speaker 4>has been, always will be. It's about building new stars.
<v Speaker 4>Stars bring people into every genre of entertainment, whether it's TV, movies,
<v Speaker 4>especially professional sports and baseball, football, hockey, doesn't matter. Stars
<v Speaker 4>always draw the ratings and uhs. I think exceptionally is
<v Speaker 4>the case in pro wrestling. So all right, well, I
<v Speaker 4>do have to ask you quickly about your summer Slam thoughts.
<v Speaker 4>I know that I kind of sprung that on you,
<v Speaker 4>but I don't know if you have any predictions. I mean,
<v Speaker 4>I have the card in front of me. Would you
<v Speaker 4>rather just kind of comment on the ones you think
<v Speaker 4>you have a good thought on or have you run
<v Speaker 4>down the card.
<v Speaker 3>You hit the card? I'll give you my thoughts.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, all right, all right, so brief here we go
<v Speaker 4>Street Profits versus Androdde and Angel Garza for the Raw
<v Speaker 4>Tag Team Championship, who wins Street Park.
<v Speaker 3>It's gonna go Street Profits. That's where the money is.
<v Speaker 2>And the smoke.
<v Speaker 4>Drew McIntyre versus Randy Orton for the ww Championship McIntyre,
<v Speaker 4>Apaulo Cruz versus MVP for the United States Championship.
<v Speaker 3>Apollo, And if they don't, if they don't do that.
<v Speaker 2>That is really really dominic.
<v Speaker 4>Mysterio versus Seth Rollins.
<v Speaker 2>Seth.
<v Speaker 4>Sasha versus Oscar for the Raw Women's Championship, Oscar Bailey
<v Speaker 4>versus Oscar for the Smack Then Women's.
<v Speaker 3>Championship, Oscar.
<v Speaker 4>Bronz Stroman versus The Fiend for the Universal Championship Fiend Okay,
<v Speaker 4>And finally Mandy Rose versus Sondy Deville in a hair
<v Speaker 4>versus hair match.
<v Speaker 3>You know, I think it'll end up in Schmas.
<v Speaker 2>So nobody gets their haircut.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think it'll be something, you know what, maybe Rose, whatever,
<v Speaker 3>I'll take, let me get let me get your answers
<v Speaker 3>because I always lose to you. So let's do this.
<v Speaker 2>Uh, this it's gonna be.
<v Speaker 4>This is really brief, and it may change because my
<v Speaker 4>my official prediction show isn't until this coming week. So
<v Speaker 4>as it stands right now, and this is very brief here,
<v Speaker 4>I'm gonna say that H Street Profits retain the Raw
<v Speaker 4>Tech Team Championship. I say Randy Orton wins the w
<v Speaker 4>w E Championship. H m VP wins the United States Championship. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>seth rollins better win, and he should win the Street Fight.
<v Speaker 4>Uh oh boy. I say Oscar wins the Raw Women's Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>I say Sasha Banks retains. I say Bailey retains, and
<v Speaker 4>the Fiend wins the Universal Championship and Mandy Rose. Uh,
<v Speaker 4>Sony Deville ends up losing. So Sony Deville is gonna
<v Speaker 4>be the one that ends up bald.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, dear lord, this is.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, quite a few differences. That's good. It's gonna be fun.
<v Speaker 3>No, this is good. It is good. Okay, So you know,
<v Speaker 3>I've got Derby Week, so I'm really gearing up for
<v Speaker 3>everything I have to do with work. But wow, I
<v Speaker 3>have to keep up with this because we're gonna have
<v Speaker 3>to definitely.
<v Speaker 4>Somebody's gonna go like this is gonna be. This isn't
<v Speaker 4>gonna be like a close one. This is gonna be
<v Speaker 4>somebody's gonna go like you know, uh six and two
<v Speaker 4>and somebody's gonna go too and six.
<v Speaker 2>I mean it's gonna be one of those.
<v Speaker 3>By the way, like I said, did you see my
<v Speaker 3>boy Steve A beat Daniel Cormier into the ground last night?
<v Speaker 2>I did not.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, Steve A beat Cormier. He is the best heavyweight
<v Speaker 3>championship contender or champion of all time.
<v Speaker 2>I'll have to check that out. That Yeah, I heard.
<v Speaker 2>I heard about that, but I didn't see it.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, he's he's legit.
<v Speaker 2>He's legit.
<v Speaker 3>But anyway, look, I'm getting a little tired and I'm
<v Speaker 3>going to be up at six in the morning.
<v Speaker 4>So yeah, and before you go any shoutouts, I know
<v Speaker 4>you usually shout out to somebody or have something on
<v Speaker 4>the end of this show to say.
<v Speaker 3>Uh, you know, honestly, my shout out is just to us,
<v Speaker 3>just to love us. I'm really tired, I'm really old,
<v Speaker 3>and all the work I'm doing at the Derby right
<v Speaker 3>now is beating the heck out of me. And I
<v Speaker 3>love every listener we have, I really do. And Cameron
<v Speaker 3>per Year, if you're out there, I love you, of course,
<v Speaker 3>Josh Bear, I love you. You know, John Pelco, I
<v Speaker 3>love you, uh of course, Matt I love you. No,
<v Speaker 3>Simon Banks, I love you, but I'm tired, and you know,
<v Speaker 3>for for a few weeks. I I gotta gotta retire
<v Speaker 3>for a little bit.
<v Speaker 4>So totally get it.
<v Speaker 3>It's it's I'm gonna get my ass kicked, and I'm
<v Speaker 3>gonna be honest about it. I'm to get my ass kicked.
<v Speaker 3>So I feel it's a privilege to be on this podcast.
<v Speaker 3>My stuttering.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, you're tired, and.
<v Speaker 3>I love you guys, and and I love everyone of
<v Speaker 3>you to listen to this, and uh I, I just
<v Speaker 3>it tickles me when I get like new followers on
