Episode 32 - What is a Space Marine & what is Space Marine Power Armor

The 40k Lorecast

On today's quite long episode we talk about what is a Space Marine. We realized we could not talk about a Space Marine without also talking about their power armor. Rather than make two short episodes we just did a super long one. Today we start by talking about how a Space Marine is recruited, tested, and then turned into a Space Marine. Do at least 2 of the organs serve no function? Yes! We then we dive into what happens when you add a super suit of armor to a super soldier. *Spoiler alert* some of the lore around what can and can not negatively affect a space marine does not line up great with the tabletop rules *cough cough, night fighting. poison weapons, popping smoke, cough cough*

[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast.
[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to the Forty Kaylorcast with me, John Barsati and Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_03]: Today we're doing its pseudo double episode.
[SPEAKER_03]: First, we're going to talk about how a space marine is created and then dive into their greatest asset, which is their armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also watch the video of a space marine getting armored.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is pretty awesome.
[SPEAKER_03]: which won the actual video or the opening of Starcraft II.
[SPEAKER_01]: But both.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the actual video is super secret.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go with that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they have a full team, including servitors, priests, of course, giving prayers because you can't put on armor, if you don't want to.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, if any of you are not aware of the Starty's videos off YouTube, those, you can still find them.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just type in a Starty's in the YouTube and they were, so they fan made animation that is amazing and
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to dive into a theme of this episode.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get to in a second.
[SPEAKER_03]: But before we do that, again, like and subscribe to the podcast, I'm supposed to say that, apparently.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's a positive representative of you.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure you can find a dark empty space in your house.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can scream your negative review and do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or just find isn't yes exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, but if it's like we have a discord as well with full of high levels of engagement, but also has an area in there for feedback.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you do have something you don't like or you think we should do better to come in there.
[SPEAKER_03]: We literally make changes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, to really tell us in
[SPEAKER_01]: What I would like and instead of just telling us that you're a short idiot, which I am, but also go, you're doing this wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you actually have a suggestion for how to do it better, we are desperately hoping that you have an answer for it.
[SPEAKER_03]: We have changed episodes because of the input we've gotten and there we've changed.
[SPEAKER_03]: I am now sitting closer to the microphone if we're trying for a while not to have to.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was really enjoying sitting back on my couch.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to not eat the microphone.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we're both it's funny.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've moved the foot and a half closer and Brad's just about to be strapped into his chairs.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they can't get any closer.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like we're actively trying to fix things.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys have tech, anything, notes, we will not bang on the table like I just did because it solves it makes it possible.
[SPEAKER_03]: When I edit, I do a lot of listening to Brad like bang on a table or you can hear us pouring wine.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can say my, my, my bold dog who's like upstairs.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's a sub-floor.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's much farther upstairs earlier.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't try to murder me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, she's cute.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's trying to murder you.
[SPEAKER_03]: She just, you had a sandwich, and you were trying to walk down the stairs.
[SPEAKER_03]: And her concern was, if she took her eyes off said sandwich, maybe she wouldn't get any.
[SPEAKER_03]: So fuck you, when you're legs.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, time going down those stairs without the bulldozer.
[SPEAKER_01]: I get you very much.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, back to what we're talking about today was a space-marine space-marine armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I want to give you a disclaimer.
[SPEAKER_03]: When you talk about the lore of space-marines and how they're created and the powers they wield, the armor they wield,
[SPEAKER_03]: You will want to build a space marine army because they are the coolest thing ever.
[SPEAKER_01]: But you'll do exactly what I did.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is a real thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: You will listen to this lore.
[SPEAKER_01]: You will think these guys are super heroes.
[SPEAKER_01]: They should be part of the Avengers.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you will make your army and have what I did.
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't cast but the same thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you will be shot by two guys with plasma guns and your unit will die and you will go.
[SPEAKER_01]: But don't I have super powers and I should kill all of those guys in the fluff?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, but in the game, in the game you don't, even there are very few goals in Forty Kay wider than the lore of a space marine and power armor and their function on the tabletop.
[SPEAKER_03]: The only one wider, and we're going to cover this is a space marine terminator.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we're going to dive into this.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to talk about it, but I'm going to sorry to advance for those of you who hear this and go, I can't wait.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm putting these on the table.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm getting five tactical Marines that I'm going to go wreck shop.
[SPEAKER_03]: My five tactical Marines are going to lose to ten guardsmen and I'm not going to figure this math out.
[SPEAKER_03]: So let's start with the beginning though.
[SPEAKER_03]: We've covered some of this before, so some of you can hit a little bit quicker, but the space marine project, the space marine project was made by the emperor to conquer the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are the greatest warrior in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: with the greatest worries of the galaxy, not just because they are bigger faster stronger.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are also smarter, more adaptable.
[SPEAKER_01]: You learn faster than anyone else they can take in.
[SPEAKER_01]: monstrous amounts of information.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's their hard display is a nightmare.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is just stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: All of us would have, you would have a seizure if you saw what they did, and that's just what they'd taken while having lunch.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And these guys, a dad faster taken information faster.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are
[SPEAKER_01]: Bigger faster stronger, but also smarter, tactically sound.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then they can fight anywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're made to fight literally anywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter.
[SPEAKER_01]: Gold, hot, toxic world doesn't matter.
[SPEAKER_03]: Middle space.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can fight in zero gravity.
[SPEAKER_01]: Vacuum does not matter.
[SPEAKER_01]: Blood.
[SPEAKER_03]: Reds laugh because my notes say they're bigger, faster, stronger than the opposition.
[SPEAKER_03]: I did not, not the Norths, but very much so then tap.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, but not the first one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's talk about his, well, he did exactly what he needed to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: So first we have the Thunder Warriors.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Thunder Warriors are the guys in the video games that you XP killed to get power your character up.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the Thunder Warriors were just PDs that he just filled them with, you know,
[SPEAKER_03]: for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just steroids.
[SPEAKER_03]: They were, they were still humans, like the Thunder Warriors were not manipulated.
[SPEAKER_01]: But barely, I mean, there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, so you were so genetically engineered.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: On the, on the, on the Thunder Warriors, though, which I didn't realize till I was re-reading the lore.
[SPEAKER_03]: The thunder warriors that the emperor employed were actually not that different than some of the other techno barbarians.
[SPEAKER_03]: This was technology.
[SPEAKER_03]: The thunder warrior technology was stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: The other warlords had.
[SPEAKER_03]: He just did it a little bit better.
[SPEAKER_01]: You also had the emperor exceeding you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he had it a few extra tricks.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just also you have a demo I got at the time that being a year or a year of sphere formation.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they were, but they were effectively
[SPEAKER_03]: barbarians.
[SPEAKER_03]: They took them like they worried rage these guys to a different level.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, so much so that the stories that that surround the Thunder Warriors finds them just the level of death that the Thunder Warriors left in their wake.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, they're just modern.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, quote unquote modern scholars refused to believe the stories are true because they couldn't believe any human could fight like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is also that they also didn't think that the, I mean, the Emperor was a savage when he was taking back, Jera.
[SPEAKER_03]: He cracked mountains in half.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just because he was doing, he was, but anything the Emperor did bad after that when he decided to reunify, Jera, he was brutal.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing survived.
[SPEAKER_03]: nothing.
[SPEAKER_03]: So at the end of the Unification War, though, the Emperor kind of realized the truth is he knew well before this as soon as he made it.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, he always got it.
[SPEAKER_03]: He was going to look very round, too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there was going to be a lot of guy shot in the back of that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so he made.
[SPEAKER_03]: He knew he had to make something better and his next attempt actually wasn't the space marine where the custodians.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he, this is a good, custodians are, well, sorry, marine fans.
[SPEAKER_01]: The custodians are his crowning achievement.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, but it's like far.
[SPEAKER_03]: Our custodians are.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not even close.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I need to mass produce brains.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the issue with this because the thing about custodes is custodes were just almost genetically rewritten.
[SPEAKER_03]: You take a being and they were, he's, they're never very clear how you make a custode effectively because they haven't made one in a while.
[SPEAKER_03]: But they are, they are unlike space Marines where we'll get to their process very shortly, obviously.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's the thing is is they use like this, it's a long drawn out process.
[SPEAKER_01]: where he kind of psychically, perfectly mixes everything.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the problem is, is that while he's doing this, it takes a huge amount of time.
[SPEAKER_01]: And also, I also broke a thousand of them to make one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, less than one in a thousand survived the process.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's also a big process.
[SPEAKER_01]: He spends all of this time and then goes, Whoopsie and snaps off the head at the end.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you go, damn it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Next, stupid resin models.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was fine cast.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was more pewter.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, all of us who worked in pewter back in the day are like, well, I guess he just got that's armed.
[SPEAKER_01]: If the thing is, as he knows that this is not going to work.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, how badass are the custodians?
[SPEAKER_03]: One of my favorite stories, this is actually one of the newer ones, is as we discussed before, at the crowning achievement of the Emperor's unification of Terra, every single Thunder Warrior gave his life the last one to raise the flag for the Emperor in a great victory.
[SPEAKER_03]: That story sounds like it's like bullshit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it is.
[SPEAKER_03]: They had their victory and then the Emperor called off under warriors together for another meeting.
[SPEAKER_03]: And when we say all of Thunder Wars,
[SPEAKER_03]: of thousands at least.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, side question is Valdor a bigger dick than the emperor is because he's in charge of all the Valdor is Valdor gives zero F's.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: How about what he's being told to do?
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, as much as first company, as much as the first Legion was out there doing stuff for the emperor, Valdor thought that stuff was adorable.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the keys in charge of all the bad projects.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, there are about there's tens of thousands of Thunder Warriors, not unarmed by the way, all standing somewhere, in walks of Valdor with a few hundred gistodes, and like a thousand or so of the most of the newest prototype space merge.
[SPEAKER_03]: For instance, the best versions of these are very, yeah, yeah, first edition of the Space Marine Project.
[SPEAKER_03]: Be counted.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, Beaks were later.
[SPEAKER_03]: Beaks are like six.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
[SPEAKER_03]: Four.
[SPEAKER_03]: Beaks.
[SPEAKER_03]: Beaks are Mark six.
[SPEAKER_03]: Beaks are Mark six.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mark.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mark one is like we're getting it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's on, it's like page fifteen of our notes.
[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, these, so tens of thousands of Thunder Wars who just conquered the entire planet of Terra with brutality and most, and with almost with ease.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, they're after dead by Valdo or in a few hundred custos.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm redoing this.
[SPEAKER_01]: You said what was the biggest discrepancy, Marines, then terminators?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's good stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it was one custo just trucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And in fact, we both know Custode players who listen to this cast and we're probably screaming that out of us earlier.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we've caught up to you.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're correct, guys.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the Custode Center, the most underperforming.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we will talk about that later because the Custode's, well, don't need the Black parapet is for one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: The custodes are, so this has been great for the problem is that the emperor just can't make enough of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: He, as great as the custodes are, he doesn't have the ability to sit there and build an army of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: So he goes with his final group.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is, is that the emperor knows how to make the perfect soldier, but he needs to make more.
[SPEAKER_01]: But he needs a soldier that can fight in, yes, I am taking the galaxy over.
[SPEAKER_01]: I need guys that can fight anywhere and again,
[SPEAKER_01]: I name them to be smart.
[SPEAKER_01]: I need them to be efficient.
[SPEAKER_01]: I need them to be durable.
[SPEAKER_01]: I need them to shake off minor damage because I need to go forward.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I also unlike the custodes need them to be somewhat expendable.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that was a problem with the custodes.
[SPEAKER_03]: He couldn't build an expendable force with the custodes.
[SPEAKER_03]: So he's thanks to a certain chat he had with the chaos gods.
[SPEAKER_03]: He figured out how to make a super soul.
[SPEAKER_01]: This never has any ramifications for us.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the course in the nice thing is even though the primarx got scattered away from he still had enough the genetic template to make what he get what he needed to create the gene seeds and the organs which we're going to get to in a minute.
[SPEAKER_03]: He then takes this and we can keep using the word nanotechnology because it's easier than actually explaining something.
[SPEAKER_01]: This game's going to be tougher when we actually get nanotechnology.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's when it doesn't work anything like that.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be like when people try to say, hey, this is a hoverboard.
[SPEAKER_03]: And all of us, like, no, it's not there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's no part of that to hoverboard.
[SPEAKER_03]: But we'll start there with before we get into kind of how you make a space room, we'll start with where a space marine comes from.
[SPEAKER_03]: So a regular bro.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, space means they're just humans.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're born.
[SPEAKER_03]: You need to earn it.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are all children.
[SPEAKER_03]: They in order to become a space where you need to be around ten years old.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they, they, yes, they, they kind of hold these different ages because every now, every marine chapter has a different horrific ship that they do to you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, we're getting there.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it's, but it's around eight to fourteen.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it's for the most part.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's around play.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a straw.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like space was for instance, go, hey,
[SPEAKER_01]: Here's your loincloth and possibly a stick.
[SPEAKER_01]: Go fight a fin-reasy and wolf, which is basically a dire wolf.
[SPEAKER_01]: And come back, you're like, I'm barefoot and it's neck tan.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, I don't understand what the question is.
[SPEAKER_03]: Go figure it out.
[SPEAKER_01]: After you kill this beast, like, where is hiding?
[SPEAKER_01]: Walk back here.
[SPEAKER_03]: The thing about what we talk about the Forty-Kating Grimdark, this is probably one of the more grim dark elements of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: The space marine chapters need to bring in their recruiting killers.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what they are recruiting.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so they also have to make numbers.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they make them more killies.
[SPEAKER_03]: So their first thing they do is they all recruit from places that are horrible.
[SPEAKER_03]: One of the most common ones as we cover in a couple episodes again are high.
[SPEAKER_03]: Highfroids are great.
[SPEAKER_03]: the high roads are full of, I mean, again, we're talking about children here.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, what we're talking about.
[SPEAKER_03]: Would you like to talk about is that this is all child soldiers originally.
[SPEAKER_03]: So when you're on a high-f world, and this also made me laugh.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this story that gives makes me laugh in a kind of a,
[SPEAKER_01]: And a terrible way.
[SPEAKER_03]: And a gallows humor sense.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the space screens are trying to recruit incredibly violent people from the high worlds.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you're living on a high world and there's this super violent gang of like eight year olds who are just like murdering everyone you know.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can't, you can call the art bites, but they're not going to do anything about it because the imperial fists are actually going to recruit these guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the art bites are also pretty pissed because they're like, Amen.
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys don't have enough guys for us to take.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, we broke up the gang so much.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the art bites can't do anything because the art bites don't even be yelled at by the imperial fist for killing one of their recruits.
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, just a horrible place to live.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I'm hearing him sex-lived.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Once selected though, this little space marine, this child, just by with always a boy, we get that it's not because GW's sexist is a reason.
[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, it is because it's sexist, but it's also easier for making models to be honest.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's hard to make relevant female models.
[SPEAKER_03]: The true car, I think, are the only ones that actually have that, because witches or females or any other... They could be male or female.
[SPEAKER_01]: But in the witcher.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I can, because Banshee's, and Banshee's happy.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying to think through, like, like, I know, because actually, all, all our models can be male female.
[SPEAKER_03]: But they're the only ones, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: And I guess tyrannies might be, but these wouldn't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: We wouldn't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: And Orcs are fungus.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, but once selected for this, the child leaves, wherever they're from, and they will, you almost never see their homeworld again.
[SPEAKER_03]: Which, Procache.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they could not be happier.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll just say, because everything sucked where you left from.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, one of the fun things about this next piece is, once we leave this, they become what's called a neophyte, also known as a scout Marine.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are not all these this young.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah, your scout Marines are children who are trying to become a space marines.
[SPEAKER_03]: I run so many scouts by the way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Brad used to love to run scouts.
[SPEAKER_03]: And what do you use your scouts for, Brad?
[SPEAKER_03]: screening out.
[SPEAKER_03]: So Brad was sacrificing children so that his.
[SPEAKER_01]: So my.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
[SPEAKER_01]: You.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's what you get killed by alpha striking orcs.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look man.
[SPEAKER_01]: Timmy should have known that.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a dark way to look at it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for your sacrifice today.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so all of you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone here who's is.
[SPEAKER_03]: I remember my heavy weapon squad didn't get killed.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I remember it was great.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, good job, Brad.
[SPEAKER_03]: Way to sacrifice the children for the success of your army.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, to kind of go with Brad's time at earlier, these neophytes go through number of trials to earn the right to become a space marine, because a space marine doesn't actually, they do get taught how to fight, but they're not looking to have to educate you.
[SPEAKER_03]: They want you to be a raw one.
[SPEAKER_01]: One of the biggest things is they're looking for the best of the best and they're reading them out now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: They want
[SPEAKER_01]: The physically, they're going to juice you up with, we're going to go over all that stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they want to start with the best instincts, the biggest, the fastest, the most violent, the mostly that one, mostly that one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's issue, they want, they want the, they want the warriors that will survive, no matter what.
[SPEAKER_03]: And part that is because they're going to implant you and surround you with healing.
[SPEAKER_03]: So your ability to survive, they can take care of.
[SPEAKER_03]: They need to make sure that you can always fight.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they go through quite a lot of trials.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a super mental test.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Marines have to fight.
[SPEAKER_03]: And as you say mental, they're not taking the medical boards.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they, I'm saying mentalism, you have to be able to deal with horrific.
[SPEAKER_01]: Your life is a space marine is holy shit.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just fought a demon.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just fought a high charge.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because an imperial guardsman has an expected life lifespan of fifteen hours once deployed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: A space marine is years.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he's some of that technology, but a lot of that is they just can fight better.
[SPEAKER_01]: correct, but they also have to be able to deal with the fact that they shall know no fear starts in the beginning.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there is no, there is no running away.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the first ones that they're going to go into are trials by combat.
[SPEAKER_03]: which is when they take a bunch of these and we keep saying children, uh, show them in a good way.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know it's more fun that way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Show them in a glad editorial pit and make them fight each other in like in, you know, in the Kumatee until a certain number of left standing.
[SPEAKER_03]: How many are left standing?
[SPEAKER_03]: How many recruits do we need?
[SPEAKER_03]: That many are left standing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is wildly different.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not going to give any chapter shit on this, but like some chapters are a little bit better about this than others.
[SPEAKER_01]: And certain chapters have a different style of fighting.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot different between if you're fighting in the iron hands or if you're fighting in the space walls, they want something different.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're going to go about some Marines.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have to have a calculator.
[SPEAKER_01]: You got to be able to file your T-nine, your T-nine.
[SPEAKER_03]: You are filing a T, it's a race for it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Who can file the most TPS?
[SPEAKER_01]: Have you got those in a time?
[SPEAKER_03]: The next one they go into are trials are survival, which is, I mean, the space was just combined some of these.
[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody got, that one's brutal though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Space was a hard corner.
[SPEAKER_03]: Effectively, there's taking the neophytes and they're going to just drop you somewhere.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's arid, it's cold, it's barren, no food, no water, here's a stick.
[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't look at some of them again, the space marines.
[SPEAKER_01]: do both of them the same time.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to kill and survive.
[SPEAKER_01]: You come back.
[SPEAKER_01]: And once this is a big deal, once you get past this, well, there's one more.
[SPEAKER_03]: You stole, you also have trials of skill.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have to do one more.
[SPEAKER_03]: That other this variance.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say this varies wild.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the trials of skill in the space walls is more like, can you drink a bunch of?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but in this one, though, this is a big thing though, because I really think that once you get to the trial, the skill trials, though, you're already in though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Once you survived, they, now they're, you're getting a mentor, you're, you know, either they want you to succeed now.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the trials of skill or stuff like Ravenguard are going to want you to display using stealth.
[SPEAKER_03]: Malcham means what you display tactics.
[SPEAKER_03]: Imperial, this, they're going to build the biggest thing again.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they're trying to show you now.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: As before, they went figure it out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now they went, okay, he's tough enough.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the Raven Guard, we've all played with him.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's that it's that task and the early part of it again.
[SPEAKER_03]: We have to learn how to use stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, that's what they're kind of going with is like, tried ducking.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But for these guys, it is a big thing on this is that they are actively teaching you now.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's very true.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like before, no, when you're going through the Marshall skill, or the survival company, nobody gives a shit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're taking a ship, they kick you out the door, good luck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Figure it out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Once you figure out that you are worthy of that, then the skill test becomes, it's a test, but also they're guiding you now.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're giving you time and effort and everything else.
[SPEAKER_03]: Once you've achieved all this, they now have marked you to move from Neo Fight to Space Marine.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're no longer screening outworks in Brad's Army.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're welcome.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this, in order to do this, we have to make you bigger stronger faster.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the way we do that is gene seed implantation.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I got to get my thing together because people think that
[SPEAKER_01]: A gene seed is this one, like it's of the pituitary again.
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, like it's like flick a marble into you.
[SPEAKER_01]: No gene seed is a shit load of stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's nineteen implants that they shove in you.
[SPEAKER_03]: These implants are
[SPEAKER_03]: They're all in nano machines obviously, but they're they call them organs and not entirely organs.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're just mechanical things, but they also have body modifications.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but they also have some of the genetics of your primark built into there.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then these genes will recode your genes.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right, if anyone listening is is or has graduated from medical school.
[SPEAKER_03]: You will throw the name at us right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: So sorry about what you're about to listen through and those or any of you who haven't done that and just understand the basics of biology.
[SPEAKER_03]: I also apologize for what we're about to go through.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm going to try not to rant on one of them because it's I wrote these notes.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a lot of rants.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's there's one that's really bothers there's a lot of rants.
[SPEAKER_03]: So
[SPEAKER_03]: Once we begin this, this process of implanting these nineteen organs takes about four to six years.
[SPEAKER_03]: It used to be six, uh, they've been advancements as we got close to the forty first millennia to get down to four, but then they added in three more implants because of the primaries marine.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is people are dying in this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not as many as custodians or anything, but we get they do just die.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that's the problem as you're doing these implants at any time.
[SPEAKER_03]: One of these implants might might kill you and they don't want to because
[SPEAKER_01]: During this time, they are giving you the full spectrum of teaching.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what it is to be a Marine.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when I say the full spectrum, these guys are, if you are awake, you are busy training and learning.
[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is, there is no way, you don't get played time either.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we are on go time.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so,
[SPEAKER_03]: The very first implant they do is called the secondary heart.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a mini robotic heart.
[SPEAKER_01]: What should be the primary heart?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's an awesome nano heart.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It works like wildly better than your laptop heart.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the better heart.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the backup heart.
[SPEAKER_03]: It says it in the book.
[SPEAKER_03]: It functions both as a backup.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it also injects the main heart with steroids and phonemines.
[SPEAKER_03]: Brad's upset because his heart sucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: This sounds so much better than my heart.
[SPEAKER_01]: I heard his trash.
[SPEAKER_01]: It hurts half pig parts.
[SPEAKER_03]: It starts amazing.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's very true.
[SPEAKER_03]: I also didn't make a note here that they just shove off a backup heart and even body.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know where this is.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know where it fits.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyone who knows how about you?
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, there's not a bunch of open space just in your rib cage for no reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, I haven't read the whole thing on here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: There is going to be a part where they make people bear.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is why the face means they're way bigger.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like down the road.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's next.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no, it's down the road.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the first thing to do.
[SPEAKER_03]: It shoves something in you that there's no space for the second thing they do is an implant that makes your bones grow to make more space.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't I not have?
[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to just do the first two parts.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, this is going to be so happy.
[SPEAKER_01]: This thing just do the first one.
[SPEAKER_01]: You'll be tough.
[SPEAKER_01]: My heart wouldn't suck.
[SPEAKER_03]: That seems amazing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Next one is called Osmodula.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's an implant that just changes the bone structure of a space marine.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, I actually did rather than if you wish to have a new heart and new organs in, you should have started with the one to make more space.
[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, this greatly increases the size of space marine.
[SPEAKER_03]: Am I giving you any credit?
[SPEAKER_03]: This actually is the one thing they wrote that does make some sense biologically.
[SPEAKER_03]: And what it does is it allows the bones of your body to actually be absorbed some of the ceremony that's in your digestion.
[SPEAKER_03]: So your bones can actually hold more weight.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they can get more durable.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, it's a big deal because this is like growth hormone to the tend power.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ask for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: I wrote in a bread staring at me right now, we're waiting for him to make a joke about his height and his need for an Osmodula, but he beat me to Italy.
[SPEAKER_03]: I had a hunch he would get there first.
[SPEAKER_03]: The only issue I have with the Osmodula is it also for whatever reason.
[SPEAKER_03]: fuses all of the ribs together.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is why I said I was going to ran.
[SPEAKER_01]: But fusing your ribcage is so stupid to protect the internal organs.
[SPEAKER_01]: It makes no sense.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's literally how we breathe.
[SPEAKER_03]: The way I take a breath of my diaphragm.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, that's part two of my right, right, right, right.
[SPEAKER_03]: My part one of this rant is that you diaphragm them wouldn't be able to expand.
[SPEAKER_03]: So your lungs would, you would suffocate two.
[SPEAKER_03]: You couldn't bend down.
[SPEAKER_03]: I hope you don't drop it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's full term because you can't get it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, literally, I don't know how many of you have ever in for a rib try to try wiping your ass when you've bruised a rib.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, those of you who've met me in person and why I know this, I've been doing Jiu Jitsu for almost twenty years.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've busted some ribs over the years.
[SPEAKER_03]: I have almost cried trying to wipe my ass and decide to do I care about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a reason.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's me not wanting to move.
[SPEAKER_03]: These guys physically can't move their rib cage.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they have a bunch of much range of movement as the model.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: The next one that goes in is the biscopa.
[SPEAKER_03]: The biscopa is the East G. That's just all.
[SPEAKER_01]: The problem with this is that the order and I'm nitpicking here because you have to give the bones and the GH and the exact same time or nothing works.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, say it's, yeah, sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know I just, I know I went, the logic of the sci-fi.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm still obsessed with the Marines have a sci-fi.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're I know we're going nuts about yeah sci-fi Marie us the forty thousand year marine were like I don't think that we're as we're pushing our glasses off with the two guys actually technically but what is a radius and all the also fuse together but this one is the next two are fantastic they are let's go together because it they go together the the biscopa yeah and then well the hey master is just the lantz armstrong job
[SPEAKER_03]: Right, but it goes together.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's true.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, right.
[SPEAKER_03]: They would go together.
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, the biscopa is just puts a bunch of HCHNs.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the biscopa triggers the muscle growth.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we've now gone randomly and extra heart for no reason.
[SPEAKER_03]: But then we, these are two are awesome.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now we now your bones grow massively.
[SPEAKER_03]: So as soon as your bones grow massively, and your bones are densers, they can carry more weight.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now we're going to shove a bunch of muscle on top of that.
[SPEAKER_03]: But anyone who understands a problem of putting a lot of muscle on as your cardio will then suffer.
[SPEAKER_03]: So then the,
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: I hey must stay.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm goes in which I call the Lance Armstrong implant because those you don't know what what I don't think I caught with it was injecting itself the red blood cells.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so he goes through with it.
[SPEAKER_03]: He goes through the space marine then goes through and gets now the ability.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm now taller.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've got more muscle and my body can now move more red blood cells to actually feed those muscles.
[SPEAKER_01]: And all these things aren't
[SPEAKER_01]: It moves a little here.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, but an athlete in the twentieth century.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can now jump over a bus.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this is a like one, this is like the best.
[SPEAKER_03]: European, like world football or American football, either of those athlete, rugby, name it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know, those, for the Australia thing, Jonah Loma, like, like, that person going back to, like, Roman times.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the difference.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the goal for talking about these guys athletic abilities.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just they're going to do no one's ever seen.
[SPEAKER_01]: They can run.
[SPEAKER_01]: They can stay awake for days.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we're not there yet.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, we got so many other things.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not a custod.
[SPEAKER_03]: So as we're doing this by the way, the custodians are giggling in the corner.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But these guys are just so fast, so strong, and they can fight for longer, and they have the cardio to go with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they can just do these things forever.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now we need to move into the organs that kind of help with combat.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the first one is the Lairmans.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the organ, by the way, you could stop here.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get up billion other things, but this is the one that is needed when I said that the emperor only wants to push for it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you have to have a, hey, I can't have triage being my, you know, half of my force.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is, I mean, it's the climbing.
[SPEAKER_03]: It makes for plastic.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you have space marine in combat, let's just say you slice them with a sword.
[SPEAKER_03]: As soon as your sword finishes clearing their body, they will scab up instantly.
[SPEAKER_03]: They do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: The space marine's basically don't bleed unless you put a giant hole in them.
[SPEAKER_03]: This means that they can continuously fight all throughout their neighborhood.
[SPEAKER_03]: Very rare need for an apothecary unless there's incredible damage.
[SPEAKER_03]: And this allows them to survive long enough for the apothecary to get there and provide the treatment.
[SPEAKER_01]: In the tech they have is fairly regenerative anyway.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the the biggest thing is don't die.
[SPEAKER_01]: Continue to fight is the bait.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a it's a two part don't die.
[SPEAKER_01]: But by not dying, I need you to also keep running that way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they can get into this and why a space Marine, not on the table top, could take on thirty or forty Imperial guardsmen.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's actually in hand to hand combat because he's not going to get tired.
[SPEAKER_03]: Every blow he hits on an Imperial guardsman kills one of them because of the prior ones.
[SPEAKER_03]: And every time the guardsman inflict a wound in the space Marine, it's healing before the next one.
[SPEAKER_01]: They can Julie as Caesar him, and he will, if Julie as Caesar was a space-marine, he would have wrecked that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, Brutei would have had the Etu Brutei would have been a much better law.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that would have been a finishing game.
[SPEAKER_03]: The next one, of course, that kicks out of this is called the Callous Catalepsian node.
[SPEAKER_03]: This just allows them to not sleep.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to tell you what it is.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to tell you where they got it from.
[SPEAKER_03]: First, yeah, it allows the space-man to turn off half their brains.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can actually function and can rest their brain.
[SPEAKER_03]: What a clever idea.
[SPEAKER_03]: Where did you ever thought of that GW?
[SPEAKER_03]: It was literally what dolphins do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like this, they just stole this idea from how dolphins function.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes you got to write, you got to write something quick.
[SPEAKER_03]: Fun story, though, the current record for most time without sleep was that crimson fist fighting the orcs who did three hundred and twenty-eight hours of active combat.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's great.
[SPEAKER_03]: My note is looking at you, Crystal meth lab in Walawala.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know you guys got this.
[SPEAKER_03]: I live in Washington state.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I believe in your people.
[SPEAKER_03]: I believe in you.
[SPEAKER_03]: This one makes me angry.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now we're moving into some of the number ones, the preamner.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the no food poisoning note.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it also supposed to like basically make it not food poisoning.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also supposed to make that you can ingest anything.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's for food poisoning.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know, but they get poisoned all the time.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what food poisoning is.
[SPEAKER_03]: They get poisoned all the time.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it sits in their digestive tract.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's my problem.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's for food poisoning.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we're going to get into later, much later, space where you don't eat.
[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, it's a it is that it sits in their digestive tract.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it makes it so it's the space where you ingest something bad.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, they don't get sick.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I know it has nothing to do with this game, but I assume is this how Taco Bell won the franchise worse?
[SPEAKER_03]: I reference only a few of you will get what those of you who do know how to use shells.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is one that doesn't get used at all in the game.
[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe barely, I can't think of them to lower this.
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't even go in the Lord.
[SPEAKER_01]: Get him on that.
[SPEAKER_01]: They went away from this right away.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, almost fagia.
[SPEAKER_03]: They just didn't, they haven't read content.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the one where a space Marine, um, they have a group of ours.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, let me kind of get my, my soul together on this because I'm one of the words coming out of my mouth or so stupid.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to hurt my brain.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[SPEAKER_03]: So a space Marine can pick something up that it's, that's dead, eat it, and then learn its memories from its DNA.
[SPEAKER_01]: that this never ever ever come.
[SPEAKER_03]: I honestly think I'm actually amazed they didn't just remove it from the game because it's so objectively stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, could have it right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's makes no sense and is objectively stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're not wrong, but fruit haven't right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, fruit just made.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they've never used this goes in zero state.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's no one's story.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's one story.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's one key story because the whole, the answer is the blood, the red thirst.
[SPEAKER_03]: The whole reason the blood angels have the red thirst is something about this organ and sanguineus's genes creates a desire to deep people.
[SPEAKER_03]: Looking at you flesh tears.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Good job.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, cool army.
[SPEAKER_03]: Nice, I like the color scheme.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, Gabriel, but I'll fix your freaking chapter.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just you.
[SPEAKER_03]: From there, we move on to another one of the, like, odd ones were just, which is still that this is the multi-long.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to get my tree back together because again, something that's sent my works on me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Their third long is so much better than the other two.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's very confusing in this game.
[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe this is because I, you know, you can be talk about being RPG people.
[SPEAKER_03]: Bread and I are hardcore D&D guys.
[SPEAKER_03]: I played Rifts.
[SPEAKER_03]: So Rifts, what had had bionics and cybernetics in it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So my head, I'm like, why don't you just replace the lungs with the multi lungs?
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you'll never have a problem.
[SPEAKER_03]: So instead, they added a third lung where you put it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea, but there's a third lung another reason why it's a screw you forty k you couldn't you shouldn't be able to poison my Marines because this exists.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, no, this is the air come on Brad and so the third one half the poisons that are shot or talk airborne talks.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they do they avoid they avoid the digestive tract and the respiratory tract that how it gets in there come on that your car can aim
[SPEAKER_03]: So ringes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's just a sneak up behind them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the third line is amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's literally, it is a full filter.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, full filter and oxygen source.
[SPEAKER_03]: It actually has a backup oxygen.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's actually that we can take over and feed the space marine in that area.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, this is the next one.
[SPEAKER_03]: I actually, I like a lot and Brad, another one Brad could use the ocular.
[SPEAKER_03]: My shitty eyes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: But you can see a distance.
[SPEAKER_03]: You just can't see what the colors are.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I also can't see that while period.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, fair enough.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the aculob are superized.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they actually, this is goes behind the eyes.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it actually doesn't replace their eyes.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is a gives the space marine the ability to have just beyond perfect vision, like perfect clarity, but they can also see in low light.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they get nine different spectrums.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they can see.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have basically night vision old, they have dark vision.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they have dark vision to get, but they also can see through smoke and fog, which is really cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: So even even with obstructed views, they can get through, they can save a lot of money.
[SPEAKER_01]: We just make you seriously in the fact that for a long time in the game, we had night fight rolls.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, in the space marines head of, I'd have a ride by them.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we're going to get into what the space marines helmet does.
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't get me started.
[SPEAKER_01]: Somehow we're night funny.
[SPEAKER_03]: So sorry, everybody in the like Brad night.
[SPEAKER_03]: When I wrote this, my original plan was for us to talk about how amazing the space marines are and let you all discover, but it's just this is making Brad and I had these moments of like God damn it.
[SPEAKER_03]: They just, we both have had space marines.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, six inches of like no, it's a fun existed.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was a rule.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a stupid rule.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, at forty first millennium, and you're like, so nobody has dark vision.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like knowing and fight at night.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's absolutely complicated.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also a smoker name actually works, you're like, you said it doesn't.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I pop smoke.
[SPEAKER_03]: I pop smoking.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a little cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: We don't really need to see right through it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you pop your glow sticks all the time?
[SPEAKER_03]: One of the more weird ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: I actually like this a lot.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is incredibly useful.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just put again.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's incredibly useful in war.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the linemen's.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the space marines ears are better.
[SPEAKER_03]: And what their announcement do is it gives them two things.
[SPEAKER_03]: One, they can hear, you know, ministerial sounds.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can track.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but more importantly.
[SPEAKER_03]: More importantly, loud, they can hear through loud noises.
[SPEAKER_03]: So in the middle of a roar of battle, a space ring without a helmet on can speak to me, can talk to another space ring with now to helmet on and they'll hear each other.
[SPEAKER_03]: Clear as day, which is astronomical when you figure out when you need to spend some time going through the weaponry that space rings use, it's not quiet.
[SPEAKER_03]: It also, like fun story, lists them as being immune to sonic attacks.
[SPEAKER_03]: Except for noise marines howling banshees the screams of towel players when they roll a one on the railgun Oh, they also don't get dizzy so space marines can go to a roll.
[SPEAKER_03]: What's the what's the place in Ohio you will go to for rollercoasters see to point space marines would just go nuts on see to point I'm for two years old.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was in London with my son at winter wonderland
[SPEAKER_03]: We did one of those like this kids roller coasters.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's like three laps.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was dizzy.
[SPEAKER_03]: I got off and went.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, God, when he gets all their I am so screwed.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we're going to use a bark dead.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Take someone else.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, onto the next one.
[SPEAKER_03]: This one's weird and I think it's up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's come up more in the primarx.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think it comes up, but it's one of those ones.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know why it doesn't go up in the lore very much because it's more, by the way.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you don't care about Ted the Marine?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's also the, yeah, you're right.
[SPEAKER_01]: You just don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the membrane is it basically let's go into suspended animation by themselves.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they go into a coma if they're grievously injured, which allows them to have more time than have somebody
[SPEAKER_03]: And this makes a lot of sense if you are robot, that's not how it works.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like when you, like, my body is already doing this.
[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, but I'm just saying, in stories, several primers have had this out.
[SPEAKER_03]: I understand, but if you had this out, yeah, our bodies already do this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Look, man, I don't just say, this organ may not have gotten delivered.
[SPEAKER_03]: And like, yeah, we totally put it in.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what I'm getting.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like we toyed in nineteen.
[SPEAKER_03]: What are you guys talking about?
[SPEAKER_03]: I put that in there.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know it's there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's yours.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, I'm nine feet tall.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll punch you in the face if you say anything else.
[SPEAKER_03]: Here's the one that I'm going to.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, God, this one I hate more than almost any.
[SPEAKER_03]: This doesn't do any is the melon chrome.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's also just wildly incorrect.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the melon chrome adjust the skin of the space marine to adapt to their environment.
[SPEAKER_03]: It calls out, so let's go from how it calls out.
[SPEAKER_03]: It calls out.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is why blood angels are very pale.
[SPEAKER_03]: And if you guys know, I'm getting my jersey together.
[SPEAKER_03]: Our Obsidian because somehow by adjusting the melatonin and your skin and the payments can, it will shield you from radiation and heat.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, radiation, you're right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Darker pigmentation on your skin does give you a very minuscule protection against UV radiation.
[SPEAKER_03]: Not the radiation from...
[SPEAKER_03]: weapons, electromagnetic pulses.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm skipping this one because it doesn't exist.
[SPEAKER_01]: Heat, because there's no space Marines in any story have randomly changed their skin kind.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's like the salamanders are obsidian because it was supposed to be because they're primar because they've retarded.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's my point.
[SPEAKER_03]: They've retch on the hell out of us to say they started that way.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not became that way because again, anyone listening to this,
[SPEAKER_03]: If you're, if you're a blonde hair blue eyed person, ghost finds someone who's got dark skin and darker, darker skin and darker hair.
[SPEAKER_03]: And see which of you need your hand closer than open flame.
[SPEAKER_03]: You'll discover it's not this, it's the same thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's not how pigmentation.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm skipping this because it doesn't exist in stories.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, you know what does the kidney?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so this is the one that actually covers the poison.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is our third attempt.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this makes me so much easier though.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is why I'm giving Brad credit on the first one.
[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about made it so you were immune to food poisoning.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you can go to every good one.
[SPEAKER_03]: All you can eat shrimp buffet in New Orleans.
[SPEAKER_03]: No threats.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the next one helps you with toss and greedy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you know, Trump sushi after the bar.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we can go anywhere any time and breathe the air and still party.
[SPEAKER_03]: The outlet kidney that we're listening to.
[SPEAKER_01]: Those other two things should still stop you from poisoning.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then we have a third thing, which is the kidney that straight up says it processes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Any, any, if you read the stories, it says any.
[SPEAKER_03]: Any negative poison, it will immediately the space room in theory wouldn't even know they got poisoned.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that's how fast the body would.
[SPEAKER_01]: What would they get?
[SPEAKER_03]: constantly poised all the time and not just this is also not just the table top is also in the books to constantly this is a non-stop problem of space marines they have an extra hit me fair I'm essentially a book away one of the data get for the idea food poisoning so I do realize this this serves no purpose ah this one stupid again we're going
[SPEAKER_03]: We're diving in.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is late way less down than you do because the neuroglottis is for people that play Marvel, it's, you know, in hand sense is basically, but they're stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what is supposed to be like a detective type?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I can taste the air and track you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's what it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be doing the Native American thing with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I know where you are because you sweat on a tree or something.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, this was dumb.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can taste their other opponents.
[SPEAKER_03]: Brad's defending this because a certain legion called the space wolves.
[SPEAKER_03]: I totally use this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't matter the rules they don't but anyway, but in the books they do the books they do can escape from the space walls can actually taste the air changing around their opponent no and it let's imagine that the muscles are about to tense they're going to strike
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it makes no sense.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just, but it sounds super cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: You're probably didn't even have snake eyes.
[SPEAKER_03]: The new Kronoid is next.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is actually, this one is so stupid.
[SPEAKER_03]: Look, this one is useless for what we're playing the game, but effectively it allows me to see the seal their skin and like a wax and cocoon themselves.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they can just, this is, some like, we're gonna, in chat, I challenge you to show me any literally any story.
[SPEAKER_03]: Where is this?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: We looked, we, we know what you're doing this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I looked up all the organs.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I try to find stories for all the organs.
[SPEAKER_01]: This one is why, by far, never mentioned ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, let's go to the, the next one that's never, ever mentioned anymore.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, this pisses me off.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: The better it's glad.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to Ratcom guys.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[SPEAKER_03]: This was, this is maybe the, I think this is the most infamous of the organs.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the spit acid organ.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's almost there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone's aware of and has never, it's appeared in one book.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's actually appeared a few times, but they've been over time.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks, largely to Black Library writing, been rewriting this, this gland out.
[SPEAKER_03]: So where it was when it first came out, a space spring could actually spit acid out of its mouth at an opponent.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a very limited thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was supposed to be an emergency attack type thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but this is stupid.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they were.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they took they have the multiple errands.
[SPEAKER_01]: They basically forced their, oh, whatever.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's stupid.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like this one.
[SPEAKER_03]: They began.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: I just like the process of repconning it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Good.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone went lame.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it was never got to the table.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it became personally moved it from spit to drool.
[SPEAKER_03]: So a space Marine could like bite.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm I'm quoting here by the way, from the books.
[SPEAKER_03]: They could not on the bars of a prison to dissolve the bars with the acid people.
[SPEAKER_01]: He actually burned all of the bars.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I burned all the bars.
[SPEAKER_03]: They were by licking them.
[SPEAKER_03]: And now he basically drooled on.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's drooled in a bar until it broke.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a night lord on a dark angel ship did this.
[SPEAKER_03]: And
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, they never explained how that you can have acid in your mouth and doesn't burn your mouth.
[SPEAKER_03]: But we're going to skip that departure of logic.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it was dumb.
[SPEAKER_03]: Then they came out and said entire space marine chaplain, the Imperial Fists during horses said they actually never could use this organ.
[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, now apparently it just doesn't work anymore.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know why I didn't work?
[SPEAKER_03]: Where we're going?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because we're all doing sucks.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because I think it's all about going down the spot.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do enjoy saying this and get so many people attack me every time.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it is like, it's just this weird thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: So as of right now, just everyone's in the by the party, forty one K, this organ, they keep implanting it.
[SPEAKER_03]: but it doesn't do anything.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're just now getting much like the one that puts you in a coma.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're not really in two of your nineteen organs.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look, the stupid wax thing is so much labor.
[SPEAKER_03]: But in theory, it does something.
[SPEAKER_03]: But you don't spit acid.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's my point.
[SPEAKER_03]: This one, they just shove an organ in you that doesn't have anything else to spit acid.
[SPEAKER_03]: Why do you go into a coma when you're injured like we don't?
[SPEAKER_01]: No, the coma thing finds the pretend wrapping yourself in candle wax.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's not that it's not that helpful.
[SPEAKER_03]: Howard near in the end though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's going to the real ones.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_03]: So let's do the the progenoid gland.
[SPEAKER_03]: This one's actually an incredibly important one although it is a little bit hard to follow.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the progenoid gland is actually
[SPEAKER_03]: the gene seeds that are in your body.
[SPEAKER_03]: So as your body, as you, and also manages, it regulates.
[SPEAKER_01]: It regulates, it regulates.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's weird, because it's almost like, I think it's the closest thing would be like, but to a territory gland on steroids?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but what's interesting is they put it in at the end.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you think it would be first.
[SPEAKER_03]: This one helps govern the function of all the other implants, but we put it in a three, put it in all the other implants, two of which we just established don't do anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give them the two cents of why I think, baby, they put it in this because they make a big deal about the fact that this one is like super hard to use and make and everything else.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like maybe they're waiting to see how many people ate it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's true.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the progeny gland also does, has aside from managing all of your gene seed organs, it does a very, it, it also will store a gene seed.
[SPEAKER_03]: And reason that matters is that if a space marine is killed, the, the job of the pathocary is to go and pull the progeny glands out of them because gene seeds are hard to make.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they can take these things back.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I know the problem that the term gene seed here again is a catch all.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the gene seeds are both
[SPEAKER_03]: The organs that are implanted have the genes seeds, and them, but also the genetic markers that come from the primaries who, if you see, if you're a loyalist, more than half of those primaries are no longer around.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that's fairly dead, but they're missing, so you don't have to believe it, make more of this very easily.
[SPEAKER_03]: So these are really important, this land's important.
[SPEAKER_03]: The most important implant though, really for say something, is the black therapist.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, let's be honest, it's the most important because you can't interact with your power armor if you don't have a black therapist.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the black therapist is not what it is.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's images you can be asking find of this, but effectively, it links your central nervous system to the bunch of external nodes that are all over your body.
[SPEAKER_03]: and those nodes then link to the power armor when you're put into it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a weird biomechanical skin suit that interacts with your body so that you can interact with your power armor because your power armor, which we'll get into in just a few smits here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Your power armor has to act like an extension of your will.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It has to, you are ridiculously fast.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not a robot.
[SPEAKER_03]: The power moves as you move everything as you, the way that all of us would function move our arms, move our legs, move our hands.
[SPEAKER_03]: The power armor would move with you in tandem that only happens because the power armor is linked to your central nervous system.
[SPEAKER_03]: And this is how it works.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Marines and power armor are fast.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, if this was two thousand sixteen, we would be done.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, two thousand seventeen from various marines.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, primers marines to the joy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, call.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, to the joy of a space marine collectors.
[SPEAKER_03]: GDW introduced a new line of space marines.
[SPEAKER_03]: They call this the ultimate family.
[SPEAKER_03]: This was a government went to call and told him we... Well, call, told him about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Call, basically call said, hey, man, I heard you're going to be doing some stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm wildly paraphrasing this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I can make your guys a billion times better.
[SPEAKER_01]: I heard the shit's going down.
[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Can I, you want to hang out?
[SPEAKER_03]: Call goes into this process and actually affect of the events three more organ implants.
[SPEAKER_03]: These space marines are then released just after a bad news broke in the sky and Gilman has returned and it's the right to start of eighth edition.
[SPEAKER_03]: You get primary.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we get primary screens and Gilman wasn't like down with this at first to know go on it, but
[SPEAKER_01]: Avidon broke the sky.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ternards are showing up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Necrons are around.
[SPEAKER_01]: Eldar are doing Eldar things and no one knows whether they're Eldar or Dark Eldar or so, whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: Tower harassing the Eastern friends.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they still exist.
[SPEAKER_03]: They mildly annoying me.
[SPEAKER_01]: But there's some shit going on.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and so these guys come in and so you're going to make a prep to primarist Marines are a larger version of space Marines.
[SPEAKER_03]: I just do want to enjoy this with one of my favorite parts of the of playing Warhammer was when space marines got two wounds because they were primary marines and the anger that exploded everywhere around these guys.
[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, they this with three new organs and I'm even credit actually all three of these are cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: The first one were the sinew coils, which were these microscopic metal coils that surrounded all the sinew in their body.
[SPEAKER_03]: This allowed space means to beat
[SPEAKER_03]: immensely stronger, but also even sturdier.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they were actually, they could now, well, it makes them explosive power to incredible that the stories they could, they could grab a skull and crush it with their bare hands.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's how powerful they became.
[SPEAKER_03]: The next one was the magnificent, which is just a lame name, but we're right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but it's boss mode.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, because this just says, hey, remember when you guys were already super humanly large, how about we just give you?
[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're twenty or thirty percent big.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you go to the model line, they're laughably bigger.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it means like fifty percent bigger in the model line.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I think the more it's that much because the reason why I say they're fifty percent bigger, they'd be as big as the primary mark.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: But they are looking down on.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're looking out and they're a lot wider too.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the last one he did was called the Belless Sarian Furnitskly named it after himself.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is basically a cocktail of crystal meth that sits inside every space marine and if they end up severely injured or in some sort of trauma, gisting kicks off.
[SPEAKER_01]: So by the way, this is not something that the marine can control.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it just happens randomly and they get to choose.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have stories about this because this is, they effectively get, you're like, hey, man, I'm horribly injured.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, you should do eight lines of cocaine.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, I don't think that would be great right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I'm doing this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Primera's marines are massively stronger, massively a bigger and they actually
[SPEAKER_03]: And from a lower standpoint, help turn the tide against blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a big deal in this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when we we have to cover the fact that our regular marine can.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep, the crossing of the river come.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, can get can become a primary as however.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's on easy process, but this is a big deal, because one of the biggest challenges that we've had for space marines is, as we were talking about, they had me recruited as children.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, during the Horace Harris, we learned that that wasn't always the case, because Corferon, a few others, they were just juiced to be certain.
[SPEAKER_03]: Alabama, Alabama, do little tricks here and there.
[SPEAKER_03]: but in order to help sell models, the GW made it so that we can actually up-convert a space marine into a multiple chapter masters have been brought up more importantly if GW needs to convert something from a resin cast to a plastic cast
[SPEAKER_03]: Tada and it's bigger because he's primers said or detail.
[SPEAKER_03]: I will say new caligars much better than old caligar.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it Dante as well.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, you do Dante's way better.
[SPEAKER_01]: All of the guys that have been in the thing is is that the man I don't care that weirdly enough, none of the main characters have died.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But so, but the transformation to be fair, the models are wildly better.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, and they've started.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's how you make a space marine.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, as we kind of have been just discussing here, the space marine himself is inferior moon to toxins, although he's not on is the strong is one of the strongest beings in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: doesn't need to sleep can literally operate for days at a time can sit down operate when I say operate I mean fight nonstop for days at a time because he's on the ultimate EPO he can legitimately be
[SPEAKER_01]: minorly injured, over and over and over and over and over again.
[SPEAKER_01]: And heal and keep fighting.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also can't get food poisoning and can smell a really far distance.
[SPEAKER_03]: Contract people.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_03]: He knows who made pie.
[SPEAKER_01]: You were the end of fun John.
[SPEAKER_03]: But as powerful as Space Marine is, that's not what makes, you're not going to conquer the galaxy with a bunch of these students.
[SPEAKER_01]: These guys are the video game characters again, that you're leveling up on because they're wearing t-shirts.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now we're going to jump into power armor, which is a whole different ball game.
[SPEAKER_03]: Power emers boss mode, but all armor is, is get ready for disappointment.
[SPEAKER_03]: People, because we're going to walk you through power armor and then it doesn't do any of this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Space Marine in power armor in lore is devastating a single space Marine in power armor could just wreck a city in the thing and because again power it was it's just that the invisible heat power armor is the extension of the space rain.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it's so devastating.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a it's not a man a Superman in armor
[SPEAKER_01]: It is, he is the arm.
[SPEAKER_03]: He is, you cannot defeat these things.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are space-waring in power rumours.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll knock through what we'll go through a wall, kill everyone on the other side of it, and not care.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're bringing the building down on top of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, enemies used to fight the Imperium and then ask themselves, sorry, guard players, but there was, is there Marines here or not?
[SPEAKER_01]: It would be the question.
[SPEAKER_03]: So let's go through what makes power armor so effective.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just like with its basement with the organs, the power armor really is just some of its parts, and that so all the individual pieces are make it important.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just start with the top then, the helmet.
[SPEAKER_03]: Space Marine helmet is designed to feed information.
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, remember, we were making super humans and they can take in more information because their HUD is Balkersman.
[SPEAKER_03]: Non-stop.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it is, like I said earlier, we'll see you're inducing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I mean, a full part of it's telling you is there's shit wrong with you, because the power armor
[SPEAKER_01]: We will go into this.
[SPEAKER_01]: It gives everything from what's happening with you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it hot outside?
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it cold outside of my poison?
[SPEAKER_01]: Am I even going?
[SPEAKER_01]: I should be able to shake that off.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and my poison, though, they would matter.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, what, what are my orders?
[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on?
[SPEAKER_01]: What do I see?
[SPEAKER_01]: Your, your power armor, also your HUD translates what is happening.
[SPEAKER_01]: Even though you have great sight, it will just start telling you
[SPEAKER_01]: that there's, there's, there's three warriors, there's a, there's a, there's a, there's a, there's a, it breaks down instantaneously everything that you see, and it puts up all that information on your own.
[SPEAKER_03]: At all times, additionally, it also has real time translation, both for text and for audio.
[SPEAKER_03]: So as you're walking through, it's gonna tell you, you never have to pause for a second.
[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about the oculob enhancement that put inside of a space when you give them clarity of vision and see through smoke.
[SPEAKER_03]: This thing makes it even better.
[SPEAKER_03]: The helmet takes a different level.
[SPEAKER_03]: You've got magnification for long range.
[SPEAKER_03]: See even better through smoke unless someone spends one CP.
[SPEAKER_03]: Devastator.
[SPEAKER_03]: The actual integrate with the weapon.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you actually don't necessarily have to lift the weapon up to your eyesight.
[SPEAKER_03]: You actually can see through the weapon.
[SPEAKER_03]: Devastator Marines have a very specialized version of this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's a super impressive though, is because of that fact.
[SPEAKER_01]: They effectively get targeting, so you can target a lot of their big weapons while sprinting.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, at full speed, because it's already being targeted with the weapon you're shooting, you know, you're shooting from the hip, but with perfect accuracy.
[SPEAKER_03]: They also have built in Vox.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the space marine, not only can they obviously, I mean, obviously, they can communicate with each other, but a space marine can now shout through the Vox.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if they're working with say guardsmen and needs to command them or our bites, they can hear them from exceptional distances.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it cuts through because they can go through different ranges.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also improves the hearing.
[SPEAKER_03]: So even more so than all of these, what the helmet tends to overall do is take an implant that was put in the space marine and magnify to make it even better, including respiratory protection.
[SPEAKER_03]: The level.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, do you poison?
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a space work.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's getting point.
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't understand.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you've got a multi-long.
[SPEAKER_03]: You've also got a respirator that actually has oxygen in it.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can seal your camera.
[SPEAKER_01]: God damn it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Space is so epic.
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, let's go to the other other part of the body, boots.
[SPEAKER_03]: So space marine boots, this is one of those ones that actually irritates me and it shouldn't.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're magnetic.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're boots are awesome.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, but like a kid, they're called about being magnetic because apparently we're still building out of steel.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, they're not, they're not, they're not magnetic.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're effectively grab.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because they can run on the sides of ships and stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: It says in the code.
[SPEAKER_03]: I use the word magnetic.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not.
[SPEAKER_03]: And our ships were made out of ceramic, which is a ceramic.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't know how you have magnets around, but see if your coffee mug is magnetic.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's magnetic.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it's supposed to be effectively grab votes.
[SPEAKER_03]: They fix it later and they say they also have a sticky thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they can actually get to.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because there is some cool stories about Marines just sprinting up walls.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: One of the ones they do is they actually will deploy pylons.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we talked about like, like, devastatingly.
[SPEAKER_03]: They ever say Marines can actually run at a full sprint.
[SPEAKER_03]: And when they're ready to shoot, can turn
[SPEAKER_03]: these pilots will shoot into the ground to get to lock them in place.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can fire a heavy weapon.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then as soon as the gun is done firing, they retract the recoil.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's gone.
[SPEAKER_03]: They retract.
[SPEAKER_03]: They begin sprinting, which allows them to kind of move.
[SPEAKER_03]: Shoot move.
[SPEAKER_01]: Which is the game doesn't do this well.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, no, it doesn't.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it doesn't do this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, if you play.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you play space marine, a space marine, a space marine, a space marine two doesn't really well.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_01]: What's that?
[SPEAKER_01]: Space Marine.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, with a video.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to say, like, how did you get the copy?
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm talking about the all the release.
[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, yeah, because that's a whole new disguise that they're moving in.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is so cool because heavy weapon teams, this is always the danger of heavy weapon teams.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because when you have a heavy weapon team, the opponent's going to say, kill them.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's hard to kill them when they're constantly moving and shooting at you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, these are cool, is shit.
[SPEAKER_03]: The most important part of a space marine suit, though, is the backpack.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they do have a ghostbuster backpack.
[SPEAKER_03]: They do have a gun.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a, it's the, it is the mind of the suit.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's also the power.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the big, it's the mind of the suit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it's got a many new clear.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's got a particular record or it doesn't work.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but it also has a backup of that, which is a battery that can last for I believe a solar month and has a solar array on it for further.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just say space screens don't go down.
[SPEAKER_03]: They even added an additional thing here where I first read it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's at a thermal waste dispenser, which I thought was incredibly stupid because who cares that you can get out.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I do realize the neuros stores that they do use this for fighting in zero gravity.
[SPEAKER_03]: In zero gravity, they actually have ability to shoot little bits of air out to maneuver themselves and fighting in zero gravity.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's actually, I like that one a lot.
[SPEAKER_03]: And of course it has oxygen storage in case there's poison in the air.
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, the only one that's Chicago is they also is a heat dissipation.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that they do have the ability to not only protect the the marine in the suit from the external temperature, but also regular the temperature.
[SPEAKER_01]: And a couple of books on this because they do a lot of, especially with the salamanders, even their home planet, they do a ton of fighting in power armor next to lava next to explosions next to ships that have literally crashed into planets and stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a lot of really cool books.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Santa Matter books do it really well.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's others that do it, but there's a bunch of examples of that.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you read Vulcan Rises and a couple of the others, they have some really cool things where they show that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it's not just specific to them, it's specific to power, but they do show it with the Santa Matters.
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, we're talking about power arm in the one that we haven't touched on yet is the armor is the actual armor element of the power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: So pretty durable.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's in fathomically tough.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's made as we're called ceramic, which is just ceramic, but ceramic, there's different levels of ceramic.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's the ceramic.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, my plating is bonkers, because it's woven in and layered.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's, well, the fact that they pressed together table deflect almost anything.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, and it's, it's also shaped in certain ways to deflect rounds.
[SPEAKER_03]: Most things shot at it in theory would bounce off of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can take incredible levels of abuse.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're talking
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, in lore, they just stand there and just let small arms fire hit them.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just don't care.
[SPEAKER_01]: They will actually look for bigger weapons and stuff and ignore small arms fire.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now on the table top.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not really.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Table top does not do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: My Gretchen have killed a lot of things.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's lore, they often just literally focus on other shit because this can't hurt them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, there's a guy shooting a forty five at me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Cupid, you know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, another thing that I actually didn't realize those researching this is they had something that we in the US called active armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know people outside the US know what this is.
[SPEAKER_03]: US tanks use this where it detects the armor actually detects a round coming and do it and explodes back out into it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It will just stop something that is tracked.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is why a space where you can get shot with a missile and actually it deflects the
[SPEAKER_03]: It deflects the blast.
[SPEAKER_03]: So as the blast explodes towards and this explodes back into the blast and deflects around.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's actually one of the few times GW's physics almost perfectly.
[SPEAKER_01]: But also something that we do a lot.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm assuming whoever wrote this got fired for being correct.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's probably somebody that went to one of the sites that they're not supposed to be.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the guys that we're doing all the exact replicas of Air Force bases.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: And only two that actually, the suits we have, they do have a level of self-healing, not like the Necrons in any way, shape or form.
[SPEAKER_01]: They can seal hold, basically.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have, let's be honest, they have stem bags.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the big one is, it's, it'll, it'll fill a hole.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because Marines, Marines are fighting in hostile environments.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they don't want to get poisoned, obviously.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if there was a hole in this, you're just really pushing this one.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just fine.
[SPEAKER_03]: Brad's actually leaving here to go playing a tournament.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I just want this in his head the whole time.
[SPEAKER_03]: So he benches at people the whole tournament.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to drive to.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I could drive to the turn.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're you're you're complaining the whole time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, they're going to throw me out of the car.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to bitch.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, what will happen is that you, but you don't want to get to puncture in your suit.
[SPEAKER_03]: So suits actually will seal this up and they do have six is their own area.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it fixes the space because it has stems in the sense that they can inject into the space.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, so a primarist Marine who's in serious danger, the amount of stimulants that hits him.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because his power armors are the other.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then Bellasaurus is random drug cocktail.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, which you can't control.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: He cool if I wasn't wildly high right now, I've been all of this fight.
[SPEAKER_03]: But to make all of this actually function correctly, it integrates with your central nervous system.
[SPEAKER_03]: which through again, through the black cannabis, which means a space marine moves with this giant suit of armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, a space marine, I believe is somewhere around, I think a space marine stands around seven feet.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think in the armor, they're closer to almost eight feet.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they're like four or five feet wide.
[SPEAKER_03]: I can show you this metric.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're talking like two point three meters high and like right, just short of two meters wide.
[SPEAKER_03]: So these are massive beings.
[SPEAKER_03]: They move faster than any person any of you have ever seen with more with the grace of of a gymnast.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can well this is the later version the early verse of power armor not quite as much, but and this is because it integrates perfectly with them.
[SPEAKER_03]: The pistons that are built throughout the system move it's like it's nothing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't stress enough.
[SPEAKER_01]: They do it so much.
[SPEAKER_01]: The video games do a great job.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they play them on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just watch some of the YouTube videos and things like space-brain and, um, uh, don't award.
[SPEAKER_01]: And those, they do a great job of showing with the power I'm removing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the videos are fantastic.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, one other piece of power armor technology that we don't have to cover, but I'm going to is.
[SPEAKER_03]: you don't actually have to get out of power armor because I'm sure you're asking yourself what happens when you have to poop.
[SPEAKER_03]: Fun answer.
[SPEAKER_03]: Space Marines don't poop.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are the Kim Jong-un.
[SPEAKER_03]: of the forty-first millennia.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is written down.
[SPEAKER_03]: The suit provides them all the nutrients they need.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't say every cycle is for everything from their children.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's not that.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's way dumber than that.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, it's saying they're both.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's dumber than that.
[SPEAKER_03]: It says in the damn book that a space marine system that the nutrient cocktail they give them is so precise that it leaves no waste.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's why a space screen doesn't have to pee or poop.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a dry bottle.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly, because for whatever.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is another thing bragged with love because they believe you have IBS.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: That would be awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why am I not a Marine?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because I would die instantly.
[SPEAKER_03]: The first thing they wouldn't even give you the heart.
[SPEAKER_03]: They'd like no.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, come on, guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like I murdered three other nieoblasts to me.
[SPEAKER_01]: You'd be the most motivated me.
[SPEAKER_01]: I killed three fan-reason and we'll be in the circle.
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on guys.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just let me out of this body.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to say anymore.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I just, I didn't have to cover it, but I wanted to, is space Marines don't have to poop.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to go into this.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you think that space Marine armor doesn't perform on the table top the way that you'd like it to, way do we tell you about Terminator armor?
[SPEAKER_01]: Think you meant to say tactical, dreadnight armor, sir.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Terminator armor is meant to be a dread not wrapped around a person.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's T-four.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's my first unit.
[SPEAKER_01]: My first unit I ever bought was a unit of cast terminators and Terminator armor is what we talked about the fact the power armor of they're basically doing ninja kicks and stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Terminator armor is not that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Terminator armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: It looks lower.
[SPEAKER_01]: You, well, that's what you are plotting.
[SPEAKER_01]: You get sent somewhere, and you, that's just where you are.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're plotting slowly, but you're also per the lore, definitely not in the god damn.
[SPEAKER_03]: Go.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, let's do the lore and then we'll talk about how, yeah, how depressing it is when you think.
[SPEAKER_01]: But in the lore, terminators are just dropped off and people just shit their pants and leave.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, terminators show up and they are effectively immune to small arms fire.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's a small arms fire.
[SPEAKER_03]: Small arms are, I mean, bolters, which are refugees.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a rocker-pelt grenade bullet.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they are,
[SPEAKER_03]: They're designed where las canans can glance off of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: These things are almost impenetrable and where they're used at the two main places used termed armors.
[SPEAKER_03]: One is actually boarding actions, where they won't let the fire them.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the space we'll do it right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone else shoots a little ship into it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, before you go any further, if you haven't googled a startys on YouTube, go do that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's amazing and it's actually really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It'll make you kind of really see what we're talking about here.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the way that Space Marine's board a opposing ship is they actually shoot a little ship into that ship and the Space Marines get out of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: They do it with terminators, you got it.
[SPEAKER_03]: But unless you're a space wolf, but how to space wolves get terminators into other ships?
[SPEAKER_01]: They go big dog style and get shot out of a cannon like they're doing the carnival circus.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they use a chain fist to cut their way through the ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: As space wolves, terminators are shot into other ships.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it is the greatest space wolves are just.
[SPEAKER_01]: The thing about the Terminator Armor is it's supposed to, it is first company for, yeah, and you're talking about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: The best of the best, you don't just show up on day one and they're like, you just get Terminator Armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, you are the veteran of many engagements, then you get your Terminator Armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the Terminator Armor is next level durability.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's also able to walk around and shoot what are effectively vehicle mounted weapons.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and they are able to.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it were terminated armors just two main places is one is close quarters fighting.
[SPEAKER_03]: They put these guys into a ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you know, the the ships, the alleyways where they better turn them that but anyway,
[SPEAKER_03]: Inside of a ship are not that wide.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you went two to three wide Terminator, you basically block in the entire thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: And your turners can walk with the rest of the troops hiding behind them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is they do excellent board actions for all the fans of spacehall, which if you're not a fan of spacehall, get your life together.
[SPEAKER_03]: Go play spacehall.
[SPEAKER_03]: You'll become a fan of spacehall.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the thing is is that they just sent and the thing is they send terminators.
[SPEAKER_01]: I got to get my cheat together, John.
[SPEAKER_01]: They set terminators in space home.
[SPEAKER_01]: They sent five of them, a squadron of space.
[SPEAKER_01]: All you need it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Terminators went on a space home, which is a city-sized ship.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that was it.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's all they needed.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the ship was infested, infested with Jane Steelers, and just tiered in.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you sent five guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you sent five guys in the game against two thousand points of tiered in,
[SPEAKER_03]: If you send five guys in the game against the twenty-hormigons.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it take twenty-hormigons.
[SPEAKER_03]: Good day.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the Hormigons have come back and it was on any swarming.
[SPEAKER_03]: The addition.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's the decision.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a great peak.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the decision.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll give it to you.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it's the decision.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, they had exploded six.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Jesus would just run through them like why are these guys even here?
[SPEAKER_03]: What's the point?
[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the problem.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because this is the problem with terminators in general.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is that when you read any novel, but they talk about terminators.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you break open your codex and talk about some term interaction,
[SPEAKER_03]: They are amazing.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it invincible is the best way to do it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's also the one year administrator.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, with fear.
[SPEAKER_03]: If one terminator were to teleport in, it's actually at the start of tenth edition, we got a really good animation, right, where the internet fleet was invading and then the
[SPEAKER_03]: beacon lands and the turnier's pop out of the beacon is basically turn the tide in the battle.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that is what squads get termed.
[SPEAKER_03]: That is what turniers do.
[SPEAKER_03]: They just pop out and it's just and they wreck shop.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are so cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'll be honest, the models look cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everything about turniers are cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: Except for rolling dice with them.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the only part that's terrible.
[SPEAKER_01]: The definitely is being good at multiple times.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's any of that's some space with terminators.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's baseball tournaments have had some moments where they've been good.
[SPEAKER_03]: I just the proud.
[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like they've been bad bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, it's one of the obviously from the lower to the board is always going to be.
[SPEAKER_03]: You always have a job.
[SPEAKER_03]: I just argue there.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're the biggest drop off of the game.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what I would argue in the game because, and again, the challenge with that, I will give GW a little bit of credit here, making terminators playing the game the way they do in the lore.
[SPEAKER_03]: You would actually have an army that might only be allowed to have five of them in your list.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it was also, like, half of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Any time the terminators have been really good though, it's been bad for people.
[SPEAKER_01]: The death wing, dark angels terminators, in ninth edition.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you died.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, I physically died.
[SPEAKER_03]: You actually went to the hospital because of a game.
[SPEAKER_03]: That was sad, Brad was sad.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the thing is, is that the terminators, terminator armor is the best to pass.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the basic thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's class the seal mixed with ceramite.
[SPEAKER_03]: It can, it's actually got angles built into it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you try to shoot at it, it'll actually deflect rounds.
[SPEAKER_03]: If it doesn't deflect around, it's still thick enough that you didn't take it.
[SPEAKER_03]: when you look at like the abadon when on his just staring what they were doing he wasn't when he was when the loon of wolves.
[SPEAKER_03]: He and in turn their army would actually basically say which part of the, you know, opposing line is giving out the most amount of power to bully.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to run at that in turn.
[SPEAKER_03]: And by run, I mean, they still actually could move.
[SPEAKER_03]: They would actually go right into the dead heart of an enemy, rip it out because they could just take the abuse.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're getting shot with auto cannons, last cannons, missile launchers, either way, just took it and they was going.
[SPEAKER_01]: they distraction current affects the hell out of other armies because they would up there start shooting at them and then the flanks would start pushing on pushing on pushing out and the rest of the Marines would come in and this is a real turn that it wasn't just just up and down this is yeah some of those is the best example is because he was one of the best at it but like there's the first company just did shit like that in the thing is is there was very few there's not a lot of terminator
[SPEAKER_01]: No, you look at all.
[SPEAKER_01]: You've definitely filled an entire company.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but like that spread out over.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they're very unique in that.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, most other armies don't carry this level of tournament or army.
[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, I would, we're going to get to it's in the prime aerosarmer in the second, but most chapters have more aggressor armor than they do, tournament armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, yeah, they may have to push in the abdominis.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because the difference is they can actually make it.
[SPEAKER_03]: The parameter arm is they know how to make term in armor, but the elements and pieces in it are.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody while we're doing this, I'm going to throw a quick yellow out to our some of our future cast, because we know that we have to cover some stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm unbelievably excited to talk about some of the new lore that's pushing forward.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I have to be ramed in by John, then I'll talk about it all the time.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because you can't tell it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't you can't tell a story in the beginning and jump to the end and then jump back to the middle.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you can't.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just everyone's going to go, what the hell are you going to do?
[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't we even talk?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because people still binge us.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're not when you cross a hundred episodes, the thing we made a people who are binging us every episode in a row, but we still get some who starts at what's at one and goes all the way to a breath, thirty two now.
[SPEAKER_03]: So.
[SPEAKER_03]: There is one extra piece of Terminator armor that I couldn't not let Brad talk about, and that is a certain space wolf.
[SPEAKER_01]: Logan Grimnar, who everyone was told you can't sprint and terminator armor until he just, you same bolted.
[SPEAKER_03]: Logan Grimnar is hilarious because he actually does have full movement speed in Terminator armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he also pretty, first time that happening, he surprised them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he murdered people.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it was glorious space walls in Terminator armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Space walls have this cool thing in their army, whether you'll have something where everyone goes, oh, that's not that good.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then the space walls get a hold of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's no, it's actually kind of amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also because space walls don't believe the laws of physics apply to them.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're kind of, they're the orcs of the space where it's just like, I'll just do it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Why?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because I want it.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's why they get shot into ships.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone else uses a boarding ship in the space.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's go.
[SPEAKER_01]: No point.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's, yeah, there's not a boarding spacing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I also can't use like a power as you have to use nature.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so that's that's that's terminology.
[SPEAKER_03]: Terminator armor is genuinely incredible.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just kind of you by hearing Brad and my voices.
[SPEAKER_03]: It also depresses us a little bit because every time you kind of get really in the terminators, then you play Terminator as you go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, the models should be bigger.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think everybody should be Abadana.
[SPEAKER_01]: Skip your prepared Terminator armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, that's actually fair point.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think they probably are a little bit smaller.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because you, all right, why is a Terminator armor smaller than an aggressor?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're way taller and bigger.
[SPEAKER_03]: In Centurion, too.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to think like they're the thickness of the armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Terminator armor is over a foot.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: They should be a giant brick.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Although there are some fun if you guys want to laugh, you can go and like and see people have tried to do renderings of where what your arms would look like if you're in Terminator armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not entirely within the realm of human body.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's put it that way.
[SPEAKER_03]: But that's unimportant.
[SPEAKER_03]: So what we should probably do now is kind of talk about power armor through the ages and talk and go dive into where power armor comes from and kind of its progression what you can't and what we're going to see here is there's a little bit of power armor right up to the start of the great crusade that a rapid development of it and then nothing because of the horse heritage and then a very recent rapid so
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll start with what Power Armor first was, it actually well predates the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_03]: Power Armor, they believe dates back to before the age of technology.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they were using this in, well, let's go with the most famous, the Thunder Wars.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the reclamation of Terra, the power armor, the air quotes power armor at this point.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we'll explain the second.
[SPEAKER_01]: Was used by the Thunder Warriors, but it was also used by
[SPEAKER_03]: a bunch of other people, if I was trying to kill you, this obviously, as we discussed earlier, there's no black parapet here.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this power armor was powered armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's probably the better way of describing it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just follow, it's been out.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's better than that, but that's what it is.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, there wasn't there might have actually been a fusion core.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just like just it just it was powered, but it was slow the in the lower they talk about it was primarily on the upper body with some more support than the lower body.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it was designed so you could just carry a heavy weapon or punch through a wall.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is, it didn't come with the ridiculous, hard load layout that it has, load out that it has right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: And all the information, and it wasn't self-sufficient.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you couldn't be poisoned.
[SPEAKER_03]: But, of course, they could be poisoned.
[SPEAKER_03]: Otherwise, I mean, the tin key part of the game, obviously.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a key part of the game is the poison.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that gets us to mark one power.
[SPEAKER_03]: And mark one power we were discussing at Stundier Arm.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the armor that Thunder Warriors more.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is mark one, but I really, I think this less is power armor and more is power armor because it's no black hair.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's jump into the part mark two.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but mark two is where?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because I want to compare them because mark two for me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Mark II's the Crusader.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is this is when they am.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that is power.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is where power.
[SPEAKER_03]: I completely agree.
[SPEAKER_01]: Mark one is, I mean, it's it's Mark one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, it's the first one.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's not.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just it's Mark zero.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, if we're really talking about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is where power on your starts.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is where you have the Marines in their black characters.
[SPEAKER_01]: Me and you have full the full layout.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are almost immune to poison.
[SPEAKER_03]: Scream.
[SPEAKER_01]: But this is what this is the first power, where they are fully integrated into their power, and they have God like abilities based on this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, we're finally seeing full speed space.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can do, they can do all the actions.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's an extension of their will now.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so this was, and this is, it was also called crusade armor because this was the launch of the crusade.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now this first version, which is technically marked, but it's first version was pretty loud.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was actually pretty heavy.
[SPEAKER_03]: The movement wasn't quite what we see later.
[SPEAKER_03]: They weren't as slow as terminators, but they were slow down a little bit in this stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the, we call it's Mark II, but it's still.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's Mark one.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the first time they were trying to interface this new soldier, just made with the Black Carapace into the song.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is literally that he went up with the Emperor didn't exactly test this stuff out.
[SPEAKER_01]: He went, hey, this should probably work.
[SPEAKER_01]: I put it on my sketchboard.
[SPEAKER_01]: And let's just go have you launch into the galaxy and fight with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll figure it out later.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll figure it out later.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we did with Mark III.
[SPEAKER_03]: So from Mark II, we went to Mark III, which really wasn't a significant change except that what ended up happening was.
[SPEAKER_03]: They ran into my people.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the squats.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to have a long cast talking about how the squats were done dirty by the WStool.
[SPEAKER_03]: This event became vote and that's what you're very different.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like similar.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I reckon real bad, but effectively the full story on this was
[SPEAKER_03]: As the space means we're spreading into the galaxy, they hit the squats who were on these really, they're spaced worse.
[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, they're in mines and they had giant guns.
[SPEAKER_03]: They were shooting through the space.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I had super, I mean, not advance.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just had better armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and so the space where he's had Mark III came out at this point in all Mark III was as Mark II, where they put more of the shields in the front, like Star Trek Enterprise.
[SPEAKER_03]: It just feels forward like that was the idea because the squats lived on barren planets with and they shot giant guns.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, take a bit more abuse.
[SPEAKER_03]: not really a significant increase, just a change.
[SPEAKER_03]: From there, though, as the crusade was coming to its conclusion, we get Mark IV.
[SPEAKER_03]: And Mark IV came out right before the outbreak of the horse heresy.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's actually pretty well.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is what almost everybody's wearing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're a seresy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the big thing about this is it's lighter, but it's also way more powerful.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: It has the ability, you're effectively confined forever now.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because one of the things we didn't talk about enough was the power supply on the Mark II, and of course, the Mark III, was somewhat limited.
[SPEAKER_03]: You could hold a charge for a while.
[SPEAKER_03]: They could fight for weeks on end.
[SPEAKER_03]: The Mark IV, you could technically, this is where you first saw, as we talked about earlier, I could have had a solar panel, so that was how we saw it, like basically the power and army to fight forever.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the seals were a little bit better, still were susceptible to poison, obviously.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's just doing this just to piss me.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is funny actually.
[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, I didn't occur to me to start doing the cast and I was like, oh, yeah, that's actually kind of hilarious.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the Mark Four was a massive jump from Mark and Mark three again, which is kind of Mark three was Mark two.
[SPEAKER_03]: is what it really was.
[SPEAKER_01]: The is Forty Kay armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Up until now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously the endominus crusade basically.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the mark four is the armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mark four is the armor of the chaos.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Seven.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: We get a little bit more.
[SPEAKER_01]: But this is the big armor, especially for people that play thirty Kay for a lot of for most of the lore to be honest with you.
[SPEAKER_01]: To be fab.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then we're going to talk about my least favorite armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Mark Fibes kind of a cool arm.
[SPEAKER_03]: So Mark Fibes is actually a downgrade.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the Diet Coke of Power.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, because it had to be.
[SPEAKER_03]: The problem was the horse heresy breaks out and you've got this, you know, the Imperium loses Mars for production.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the, you know, the loyal, sorry, Lewis, but the traders have the same problem.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's really hard to source materials in an empire that's in the middle of a civil war.
[SPEAKER_03]: So what they basically did was they took Mark four and then just downgraded all the components to stuff that was easier to find.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that became Mark five.
[SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't a new power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was to jury-rings power armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's your power armor, but shit here because you are basically welding pieces of stuff you found on.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, basically it was just it was it was still power armor, but it was.
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't guide rid your power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mark five power armor was a significant step backwards, but it was it was born in a necessity and Mark five ended up actually becoming very powerful.
[SPEAKER_03]: prevalent throughout the horse heresy because of that because as soldiers were coming back from engagements with him chunked their armors shot all he was even just that they soldiers were continuing on engagement without getting reinforcements without getting the supplies they had to make do
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't hate it for that because it was something that would came out of necessity.
[SPEAKER_01]: But when you're going down the power armors, I hate to see a mark something.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mark five's an official version.
[SPEAKER_03]: And actually, so not to be fair, like that's a great point.
[SPEAKER_03]: It also wasn't like an official power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mark five was just a piece of Mark four power armor that had been jury rigged was considered Mark five.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's no rhyme or reason behind it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like one guy has a new as a different arm.
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess a different leg.
[SPEAKER_03]: One guy said different backpack.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was whatever makes it work.
[SPEAKER_01]: You were just putting wires into weird shit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, you had a piece of chewing um a bread stick and an umbrella and you were like, I got this.
[SPEAKER_01]: But then we get the Mark six.
[SPEAKER_03]: Six.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mark six is for just taking the lower out of it from a hobbyist standpoint.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a pretty good demarcation line and how you like your Marines to look.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know that you don't like the X. I. So Mark six is called Corvus power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: And these are the beaks.
[SPEAKER_01]: And people will make their armies entirely of beaks.
[SPEAKER_01]: And at one point in time, it was hard to get everybody as a big.
[SPEAKER_01]: You had to collect them because they didn't ever.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they didn't make a lot of beaks because they look stupid.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just, it's a, I'm kidding actually.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're gonna hang it out with you, my friend.
[SPEAKER_03]: I actually, I've seen people build these things.
[SPEAKER_03]: They look absolutely.
[SPEAKER_03]: It looks really, really quick.
[SPEAKER_03]: It looks like it's just, it does.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just that I don't see the value of wearing an upice of armor, where like your face sticks out a foot in front of you.
[SPEAKER_03]: weeks.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, the story on Mark six though actually is pretty funny.
[SPEAKER_03]: So Mark six was meant to be a lighter, faster, more flexible armor actually was thinner.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, some of the Marines did not like this armor at all.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: actually not some a lot of the marines did not win this is coming and we might bring me the primarks when this is coming out we're all hated this is this armor stupid has less art the idea of it was that if we could move faster and be more nimble we're a better fighting force but a lot of the space marines felt that was kind of for like puzzles like let's go you know just give me more terminator armor so anyway
[SPEAKER_03]: They decide they have to a field test and they look around at who they're going to give it to and they gave it to the Raven God.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because really liked it because he was like wait a second.
[SPEAKER_01]: My whole army is about infiltrating and doing four deploying movements and lightning striking the enemy.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can have faster quicker armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's quieter too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Fred.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's also quieter.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so it's actually quite hilarious because there's whole idea was that
[SPEAKER_03]: They sent the mark six out.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the most of the primarks assumed these guys can slaughtered.
[SPEAKER_03]: They go out there and they go in and some engagement.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was against, I think it was against a rebellious planet or as you know, like, camera, which way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they're engaged.
[SPEAKER_03]: Are they ruined?
[SPEAKER_03]: But they just, it was, they came back with almost no, they had no casualties.
[SPEAKER_01]: and they snuck up on them and they were able to lighten strike multiple times and every time there was a surprise.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, this is the best thing ever.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so in the happening was all of the primarx had no choice but to say, all right, yeah, give us some.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so the mark six started rolling out, but this also coincided exactly with the launch of the horse heresy.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it ends up happening is that while the mark six is coming out, horse heresy happens, and it just all
[SPEAKER_01]: and also the Raven Garga killed down to like six dudes and a barbershop quit quartet.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it it wasn't a lot.
[SPEAKER_03]: As we get near the end of the Horus heresy, Horus, you know, mankind knows that an imperial knows Horus is coming to earth.
[SPEAKER_03]: So what do they do?
[SPEAKER_03]: They decide we're going to build one more section of armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is Mark seven.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's called a quilla.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have a giant, a quilla on the chest.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I really think that part of this and this is me reading into it a lot, but this this armor felt like the ultimate propaganda piece.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, this was.
[SPEAKER_01]: It just felt like we need this armor because we need you to stand tall at the gates of terror and rebel the enemy.
[SPEAKER_03]: With a giant, like, you know, symbol of the Emperor on your cheek, like everyone know who you are.
[SPEAKER_03]: But this armor was actually, they took some of the best parts of the Mark six armor and actually just beefed it up a little bit.
[SPEAKER_03]: The irony is that this is actually the armor, all the primarks would have loved.
[SPEAKER_03]: When we talked about the siege of Tara, this is the armor, the blood angels were wearing.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the armor that the white scarves were wearing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone, all of it in peril fist.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the armor they were wearing at that time.
[SPEAKER_03]: This armor also stayed in the service for about ten thousand years.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you played Forty Kay prior to two thousand and sixteen, I wouldn't say seventeen.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the eighth edition.
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, up until that point, this was most likely the only power armor you had in your army.
[SPEAKER_01]: hundred percent, and it was just, it's the most widely used in modern, forty-k, but you're going to talk about this in the time I'm checking out until we get to March ten.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean,
[SPEAKER_03]: Mark eight is actually pretty useful.
[SPEAKER_03]: So which by the way, you may notice that we skipped a mark.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just we're going to do it again.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: We didn't start in the month.
[SPEAKER_03]: So Mark eight is Aaron pattern.
[SPEAKER_03]: This was just kind of a small change.
[SPEAKER_03]: This came out right at the start of eighth edition.
[SPEAKER_03]: It combined with the launch of the Primaris Marines because they basically, W had to remake the whole line.
[SPEAKER_03]: The the the lore reason behind it was that the Imperium realized I've been fighting chaos for a while now and chaos is wearing the same armor they're wearing and figure out where every freaking hole in the armor was.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's where they'd all have poisoned through and then how god damn it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so they made a new armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is market.
[SPEAKER_03]: Aaron pattern.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was really wasn't much of just some small changes.
[SPEAKER_03]: They put cabling in different spots.
[SPEAKER_03]: You couldn't like sniper it off.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a better flex.
[SPEAKER_01]: The biggest thing that from the lore, if you read the stories about market.
[SPEAKER_01]: They effectively internalized certain susceptible pieces of the armor, like power cables that kind of went out.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, just your filtration devices, all of that kind of stuff went underneath and in plating.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't a huge design, but it was a, you can't have a guy run up behind you and slice your cable anymore.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: And ruin something and just break the armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it was, it was a good improvement.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the armor that
[SPEAKER_03]: modern festival marines where sorry
[SPEAKER_01]: or you could be dipped in F.E.V.
[SPEAKER_01]: juice and they super mutated up because we got primaries Marines coming out in the abdominis crisis.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the primaries Marines are so much better than regular Marines that we actually even make mark nine armor went right to mark tell they wouldn't have fit in that's the whole point they were going to make mark nine they're like we got to even oh you had a super size of super size this because the mark ten to see the growth of our own the shit of our Marines and now we have primaries Marines because call said
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got all these super heresy plans and Gilliman went.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's heresy and went.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I don't care about heresy.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're actually going to.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, let's go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's go.
[SPEAKER_01]: It comes from the original where they don't have all that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Mark ten is for primary springs and it is one, they're bigger.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're larger.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they started, which they, why didn't they do this in the first place?
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm going to rant a little bit about this because it's awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to give it a positive rant.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because Mark ten armor, the primary Marine armor, is specifically they designed it for what you're doing with it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Mark ten armor is not one armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the big thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: All the rest of these things.
[SPEAKER_03]: They had some like you could put a jet pack on it, but it was still the original.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was the armor almost orking it up at that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mark ten actually is multiple different armors fall into Mark ten.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the big thing is, hey,
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you trying to sneak up on people?
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you carrying heavy weapons?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you need to fly?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, how do you utilize different ways you can fly?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad ways or you can fly in bad
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's let's talk to the the the lamest of the tag to get are the sorry of the Yeah, we'll start we'll start with the one what I like because we just talked about how it it's specialized depending on your needs Oh, except for this except for tactical, which is not specialized is generic armor for and it's someone someone's got to be on guard duty.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also nonsense because there's no reason in anybody's wearing this
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I'm going to jump, I'm going to go three then two.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you're wearing tecticus, you could be wearing phobosarmer, which is made for your infiltrators, your rivers.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's silent.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's rivers.
[SPEAKER_01]: It has exactly the same protection as tecticus, but it's better in every, it has better sensors than everything else.
[SPEAKER_03]: The phobosarmer is just, is tecticus armor, but quieter.
[SPEAKER_03]: with better sensors and with some like some like the passive cloaking built in.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's, it's wildly better.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's no scenario where you don't want any of those because the fact that it doesn't, because I brought a tacticous is no more resistant to firearms or anything.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just,
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's just bad present.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you have tack this time around you like, could we be wearing this?
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, yeah, for sure you could have.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're not, but yeah, and then you have on this armor, which is a basically suppressor armor, it's a jump act.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's a press, what it jump act is.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's true.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's a hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's got a jet engine in the back of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's going to jet engine and it also allows them to carry heavy weapons and shoot them on the go.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we have that it's the arm is always pretty cool because GW is not a huge fan of the laws of physics obviously, um, but
[SPEAKER_03]: When you want to fire an auto cannon, it has kickback.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the omnis is actually designed with like jets and powers around it.
[SPEAKER_03]: That as you fire your auto cannon, you have counter jets that shoot that actually allow you to keep shooting this thing straight despite being at full speed.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they've so.
[SPEAKER_01]: They literally have a gyroscope technology that well, it's gyroscope.
[SPEAKER_01]: I give it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I tell me it down, but it's it's effectively a gyroscope because these guys are jumping.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're effectively doing back flips and still shooting.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's the best armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: The one that the everyone should be wearing, which is just gravus.
[SPEAKER_01]: If I could make my entire space marine army out of gravus army, I would because it's awesome.
[SPEAKER_03]: My gravus is the heaviest of the armies and it actually has variables to that heavy.
[SPEAKER_03]: We have all of we have as low as an eradicator who is still in pretty heavy armor all up through an aggressor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and who's showing up with
[SPEAKER_01]: power fist and all of the ammo and weapons, either flamers or how much can you shoot with your bullet guns?
[SPEAKER_03]: I brought, yes, but all that and we also have a flying version for Inceptors.
[SPEAKER_03]: So amazing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just amazing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like what if we just come out of this story?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they do.
[SPEAKER_01]: low orbit drops in that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Gravis armor is technologically the kind of it's the creme to the creme, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: The creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme, the creme
[SPEAKER_03]: When primaries Marines were launched, there was a lot of bushback within the hobby.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so it was quite valid because it's true this is that if you've been collecting an army for twenty years to be told that it's all useless is irritating.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I'm going to give GW the credits.
[SPEAKER_03]: So a lot of the dominance boxes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, they sell them.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I will give GW one piece of credit.
[SPEAKER_03]: The primary stuff looks really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: The rivers have this work.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's better sized.
[SPEAKER_03]: The poses are good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's also easier to assemble.
[SPEAKER_03]: Some of the small details are there.
[SPEAKER_03]: I personally think primary is looks good.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I also don't own a space marine army anymore.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, if you did agree with me, you're, it's federal Marines.
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually own Marines.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't need more sold on my Marines.
[SPEAKER_01]: Should we talk about the other power armors?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just real quick.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hold on, every other people have power armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Mike drop.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, sisters, power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Grey Knights, power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Gustoads, power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Tech Marines, power armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about this because
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, people are going to lose, but you're going to make heads explode when you're just said, great nights and customers have power.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, yeah, man, they have not, they don't have.
[SPEAKER_01]: power armor, they have really specialized awesome power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, well, I guess I guess you could make the argument the great night power armors mildly amount improvement over the space rate power armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like defense against the war, and then everyone that knows costumes is going to be so pissed when you even call the armor power.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's
[SPEAKER_03]: Howard.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that I always like to end a cast with us being thrown out of the bus.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, well, I mean, look, like, be fair.
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, if you're listening to this at time of release and your custod player, there's other things you're upset about.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, they will that make me just referring to your power armor as power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: The beating they took in that code X was horrifying.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so bad.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've never seen something just taken out back and shot like that.
[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, I digress.
[SPEAKER_03]: But what we're getting at though is that the power arm we're covering here, these other power arm is like sisters, for example, have a very different function power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: The great night's power armor really channels the warp through them, and actually not only does it increase their flexibility, also provides protection.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the custodies power armor is
[SPEAKER_03]: Much like custodes are a variation of a superhuman.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's that is that selling it brutally short.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are there is nothing that is I think living in the galaxy more powerful than a custod in raw form where I'm saying that I think in raw form it in raw.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying a big shift in turn and stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I use it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you're right, because it's a therapy.
[SPEAKER_03]: I publish a patent, a high-of-tire and stronger.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right, fair enough.
[SPEAKER_01]: But from a... I don't really humanoid race.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, there's nothing.
[SPEAKER_03]: They compare us to them.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I would take a custodian a fist fight with a neckron.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, they're that strong.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then there's tech Marines, which I'm just mentioning, they have their own power armor.
[SPEAKER_03]: It probably will never couple in our cast unless we really are out of content.
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like we barely touched them hard.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: For two thousand thirty nine.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't think we got to figure out.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've been done here wrong.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm saying this now and maybe someone's listening.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're still doing this in twenty years and we're doing our tech learning cast, but as of right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: So he has her bullshit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: As of right now, we are now.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so at four thousand eight hundred and twenty three was all about tech.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maria.
[SPEAKER_03]: But sisters, great nights and custos.
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, we will do cast son and we'll talk about their power on where those cast.
[SPEAKER_03]: But from there, we kind of want to move on.
[SPEAKER_03]: This was just meant to be a deep dive in this space marines originally.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then we realized, you have to power our armor to if you're going to do a space marines.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sure, sure.
[SPEAKER_03]: I do one without the other.
[SPEAKER_03]: So a little bit of a longer cast.
[SPEAKER_03]: We hope you guys enjoy it.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're able to stick there with us next week.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to just take a complete left turn and talk about the forces of chaos and demons because cough cough again.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: screw it, I'll say it.
[SPEAKER_03]: We recorded this last time and I for whatever reason, one of our microphones was turned off.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is our second time recording this one.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the next one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so no respect.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Brad and I are actually sitting here in the basement doing Groundhog Day with each other and
[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to go so much better.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the nice thing is that round none of you will have ever heard round one, but wait to see if round two is better than round one.
[SPEAKER_03]: But with that, please continue liking and subscribing.
[SPEAKER_03]: The discord's really growing well.
[SPEAKER_03]: I cannot thank all of you for joining the discord much you have.
[SPEAKER_03]: and can encourage the rest of you to join discord more.
[SPEAKER_03]: This episode came from the discord.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you're listening to us and you have an idea, you want us to cover, that is the way to do it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Coming to discord, we actually have an entire section for episode discussion where people propose, hey, I want to know more about this more about that.
[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, it's a great way to reach out to us.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can see we're very active in it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a community that we are right proud of because it does give us a lot more access to all of you and helps us, you know, do things right.
[SPEAKER_03]: But with that, this is John Barsadi and Brad Jester.
[SPEAKER_03]: See you next week.
