<v Speaker 1>and his story stretches from the towering Redwood forest of
<v Speaker 1>California all the way to the backwoods of Minnesota. John
<v Speaker 1>grew up around the outdoors. His father was a fish
<v Speaker 1>and game officer and also an Apache Indian, so being
<v Speaker 1>in the wilderness was just a part of life. But
<v Speaker 1>over the years, John began experiencing things in the forest
<v Speaker 1>that didn't fit into the normal world of hunting and wildlife.
<v Speaker 1>His encounters began in the Santa Cruz Mountains and around
<v Speaker 1>the Monterey Bay area. I don't want to spoil this podcast,

<v Speaker 1>California and Minnesota. All Right, John, Welcome to Sasquatch Theory.
<v Speaker 1>How are you doing today?
<v Speaker 2>Great? How are you doing to go?
<v Speaker 1>I'm doing excellent. Thank you very much for asking. John,
<v Speaker 1>if you would tell me a little bit about yourself
<v Speaker 1>and your bigfoot experiences from the very beginning please.
<v Speaker 2>Well, yeah, sure. I grew up in the Monterey Bay area,
<v Speaker 2>which would be Watsonville, California. There's a Monterey to the
<v Speaker 2>south and Santa Cruz to the north of us. So
<v Speaker 2>Santa Cruz Mountains has always had some great an eat, bigfoot,
<v Speaker 2>paranormal me and other just oddities. That's a unique place
<v Speaker 2>to grow up. Again, I grew up. I was born
<v Speaker 2>in sixty five. I grew up around that area. My
<v Speaker 2>dad was an adivid fisherman. We'd hike miles down in
<v Speaker 2>the Monterey Bay area Carmel exclusively just to get down
<v Speaker 2>to a fishing hole that he knew to catch some
<v Speaker 2>big ol'd Lincott cap zone. So he was also a
<v Speaker 2>fishing game commissioner for eighteen years. So that got me
<v Speaker 2>out in the woods as a kid. He loved to
<v Speaker 2>fish and we did a little light hunting on some
<v Speaker 2>of the mountains. We knew a lot of people around
<v Speaker 2>the area. They had ranches. My dad had managed a
<v Speaker 2>bunch of apple orchards as a kid spare time. So
<v Speaker 2>we were always outdoorsy type people in the eighties. When
<v Speaker 2>I got my license, I would really venture out. In
<v Speaker 2>the early eighties, that is, always get out in the
<v Speaker 2>woods and just cruise around, you know, grab whoever I
<v Speaker 2>could around town and go out and listen for noise
<v Speaker 2>is I grew up around listening to in the seventies,
<v Speaker 2>there was a few reports including I had a paranormal
<v Speaker 2>event happened as a kid when I was six years old.
<v Speaker 2>I seen apparition in the doorways. So and my mom
<v Speaker 2>was into all the Fate magazine. So basically I grew
<v Speaker 2>up around that youttle background on my dad, he was
<v Speaker 2>a patchy Indian from Santa Fe, New Mexico, served a
<v Speaker 2>newo Jima, a very outdoors type person. My mom native
<v Speaker 2>American background. But we grew up in the woods. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>we grew up out in the woods a lot. So, uh,
<v Speaker 2>getting back to my experiences, UH, I always try to
<v Speaker 2>research anything I could back in the uh, you know,
<v Speaker 2>seventies as a child and a teenager, young teenagers I
<v Speaker 2>grew up. I got my license I adventure out in
<v Speaker 2>eighty two. I had I've always heard sounds out there
<v Speaker 2>that were strange, but as I grew into this lore,
<v Speaker 2>I remember being up on the mountain one night with
<v Speaker 2>a girlfriend and doing teenagers do you know? Seventeen years
<v Speaker 2>old in eighty three, and we had parked there for
<v Speaker 2>several hours, talking and doing what teenagers do again, And
<v Speaker 2>I remember we just had a sixty three in Paula,
<v Speaker 2>and I just had the radio going for a couple
<v Speaker 2>of hours, sitting on the side of the road. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>excuse me my voice of little hops and anyway, I
<v Speaker 2>remember the Holen power started shaking up and down. I'm
<v Speaker 2>not sure it was big related, not sure it's paronel related.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what it was, but the car was
<v Speaker 2>bouncing up and down pretty bad, and they got long trunks.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not sure what did that, but it spooped us.
<v Speaker 2>And when it stopped, I put the parking nights on
<v Speaker 2>see if I can see behind me. I didn't see anything,
<v Speaker 2>so I started the car, which was slow to turn on.
<v Speaker 2>It sounds like a horror flick. And I did get out.
<v Speaker 2>After I started the car, turn the headlights and peak.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't go out very far from the door, and
<v Speaker 2>I'm not really I'm not the type person gets scared
<v Speaker 2>very easily. It stood out, looked around, had an eerie feeling,
<v Speaker 2>and never did see anything. But we proceeded to get
<v Speaker 2>out of there and took off down the hill. And
<v Speaker 2>these are the Santa Cruz Mountains around the Mountain Madonna area.
<v Speaker 2>And that's the Santa Cruz Mountains, which is a vast
<v Speaker 2>mountain range with a lot with a lot of activity
<v Speaker 2>over the years. Fast forward, you know, through the eighties,
<v Speaker 2>I'd hike around that area, you know, drive around a lot.
<v Speaker 2>I mean two or three times a week, I'd be
<v Speaker 2>up in the mountains. The fast forward to and I'm
<v Speaker 2>going to concentrate in this area. I've been around you know,
<v Speaker 2>Shasta and northern California, but it would take me all
<v Speaker 2>day to tell you the stories. So I concentrate where
<v Speaker 2>I had the most activity because I was in that area.
<v Speaker 2>You know, I'm born and raised there most of my life,
<v Speaker 2>so I had access to it. Anyway, fast forward to
<v Speaker 2>the nineties, early nineties, I went for a hike. We
<v Speaker 2>were camping out of the Mounta Madonna Park and I
<v Speaker 2>had a I was going through divorce, and had my
<v Speaker 2>kids with me that weekend in another cup bullet and
<v Speaker 2>my cousin and we camped out and we went for
<v Speaker 2>a hike. I think it was a good eight mail
<v Speaker 2>hike all the way down. We did not make it
<v Speaker 2>back up. We thought we would. But halfway down, and
<v Speaker 2>this is a very vast area, not populated, we noticed
<v Speaker 2>a big structure that was at least twelve foot tall.
<v Speaker 2>Ppe type structure. I've never seen one. I have seen
<v Speaker 2>a lot now in my endeavors, but I didn't know
<v Speaker 2>what it was. It was in a little clearing by
<v Speaker 2>a field in the redwoods, kind of up towards the
<v Speaker 2>line of the redwoods there, and we were going to
<v Speaker 2>go investigating. We had a dog with us, but he
<v Speaker 2>was kind of whimpering when we started walking across the field.
<v Speaker 2>So we just didn't think nothing of that the time,
<v Speaker 2>but just nowedn't let it be. I don't know what
<v Speaker 2>that is. It's strange. So we ventured all the way
<v Speaker 2>down the hill and eventually had an old cell phone
<v Speaker 2>back the day we got service to my lady and
<v Speaker 2>they came down and picked us up. That night we
<v Speaker 2>were camping. It was probably turned in about midnight I'm
<v Speaker 2>always the last one to go to bed. I guess
<v Speaker 2>hints that's what he calls the midnight squatters. I'm a
<v Speaker 2>late night person, so was my lady. But we I
<v Speaker 2>was sitting around the campsite, just listening to the forest,
<v Speaker 2>having a cold beer and fire crackling, and I heard
<v Speaker 2>a howl come down about a half hour late, about
<v Speaker 2>twelve thirty night from the ravine down there. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>this is a mountainous area, and it was like the Ohio.
<v Speaker 2>How I just had that long dragged out how I'd estimated,
<v Speaker 2>you know, guestimation about a mile away. Kind of smooked
<v Speaker 2>me a little bit. So every noise after that I
<v Speaker 2>turned in about one thirty by I stayed up for
<v Speaker 2>an hour and I never heard again. Every noise after that,
<v Speaker 2>any raccoon, any little creature. It kind of got me
<v Speaker 2>on edge a little bit that night. So that was
<v Speaker 2>the first vocal vocalization I ever heard, and it was
<v Speaker 2>I wish I had a record at the time. It
<v Speaker 2>was a great vocalization. I mean it was just one
<v Speaker 2>of the best I ever heard. Fast forward again and
<v Speaker 2>that's ninety two. In ninety seven, we would go up
<v Speaker 2>and hang out as I was remarried again, just getting it.
<v Speaker 2>Remarried again to my second wife. And we had been
<v Speaker 2>out for a cruise and parked along the side of
<v Speaker 2>one there's three pull offs going up from my hometown.
<v Speaker 2>We can overlook and see the ocean. So we grew
<v Speaker 2>up right on the coast. And we had pulled off
<v Speaker 2>about one am after cruising around, just enjoying the view,
<v Speaker 2>and we're gonna pop a cold drink and get out
<v Speaker 2>to sit on the hood. We weren't there less than
<v Speaker 2>five minutes and a dirt clod had smacked the window
<v Speaker 2>of the car we had, and it was a huge
<v Speaker 2>dirt cloud, I found out later, and it spooked us,
<v Speaker 2>just a big boom. And we had, you know, some soft, easy,
<v Speaker 2>what you call yacht rot music on at the time,
<v Speaker 2>and it just got there, relaxed, and this just boom
<v Speaker 2>hit the window. And looked at her and I looked
<v Speaker 2>out and I go, what the heck? And it was
<v Speaker 2>a bright moonlit night, so I could see clearly there
<v Speaker 2>was woods on top of redwoods and bushes down below,
<v Speaker 2>and we were overlooking the ocean. Bud eat her feet
<v Speaker 2>up and I was smooking, So I immediately got off,
<v Speaker 2>turned down the radio and looked around and up above
<v Speaker 2>the heel about fifty foot up where there's a little
<v Speaker 2>like meadow and it goes all the way up. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>it's just a mountainous area. There was some pine tree
<v Speaker 2>or a tree there that had was moving like something
<v Speaker 2>was standing there. In rocks from the edge there were
<v Speaker 2>crinkling like you know, coming down and hitting the road
<v Speaker 2>a little bit. So to me, I thought something had
<v Speaker 2>been up there watching us. I didn't see nothing, but
<v Speaker 2>the bush was kind of wiggling like something was there,
<v Speaker 2>you know, swaying. What caught me was if something through
<v Speaker 2>a rock from u above us, it would have to
<v Speaker 2>do a U turn and hit the window. So that
<v Speaker 2>didn't make any sense, but there was something moving up there.
<v Speaker 2>Then I had this eerie feeling again, you get that
<v Speaker 2>creepy feeling, and all of us get that, like something's
<v Speaker 2>watching you. And it was towards the direction on the
<v Speaker 2>driver's side where this rocket hit dirt cloud, and I looked.
<v Speaker 2>I couldn't see nothing, but I had that eerie feeling
<v Speaker 2>like something was watching us. So she had asked me,
<v Speaker 2>what would you see the thing? I said no, So
<v Speaker 2>I picked up the dirt cloud. If I finally called
<v Speaker 2>a piece of a dirt cloud that broke in three pieces.
<v Speaker 2>You know, it was pretty big. It was size of
<v Speaker 2>a softball. And I had told her, I go, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, something through the rock. Then there's still a
<v Speaker 2>dirt mark, kind of like a bird hits the window
<v Speaker 2>where you could see the dirt impression still stuck on
<v Speaker 2>the window. So we sat there maybe five more minutes.
<v Speaker 2>She wanted to leave and I didn't. I was all
<v Speaker 2>for I said, yeah, we better venture on. So we
<v Speaker 2>had proceeded, you know, go back home and lived down
<v Speaker 2>the hill, you know, in our tail there. So again
<v Speaker 2>I didn't think nothing of it, just you know, put
<v Speaker 2>in back my mind. Well we'll just let this go.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what it was. It's not nothing definite,
<v Speaker 2>but I'm into that Bigfoot lore. I don't want to
<v Speaker 2>think that everything we hear is Bigfoot related. So we
<v Speaker 2>just let that go and put it back from mind.
<v Speaker 2>Months later, in October, we were I had picked up
<v Speaker 2>a friend and we went up. I told my lady
<v Speaker 2>to go up for right, and we had spent about
<v Speaker 2>three hours on the back up around Mount Madonna top
<v Speaker 2>of the hill. Loma prieda it's about fifty five hundred
<v Speaker 2>feet up to the top. You can get almost up
<v Speaker 2>to the top of the in ten Is And we
<v Speaker 2>were coming back down to the Gilroy side, and Daniel
<v Speaker 2>Press from Bigfoot Times wrote about it in the April
<v Speaker 2>April version of Bigfoot Times. We had talked extensively on
<v Speaker 2>the phone before that, but we anyway, my friend of mine, George,
<v Speaker 2>we were coming down the backside's a little dirt road.
<v Speaker 2>Once you go down this dirt road, I just see
<v Speaker 2>you some pictures there are on the road there, and
<v Speaker 2>I told Mama, down the road you really can't turn around.
<v Speaker 2>It's you's got up a seat all the way down
<v Speaker 2>and it's another car is coming. Uh, it's just you
<v Speaker 2>have to back up to you get a little room
<v Speaker 2>to get through there. So anyway, we were coming down
<v Speaker 2>about we were just about three quarters down, and it
<v Speaker 2>was another moon that night, which is strange because this
<v Speaker 2>second time that on a bright moon at night that
<v Speaker 2>I had an incident. But we were we had a
<v Speaker 2>few beers up there, you know, on the road. I
<v Speaker 2>had no business called John's Attoglass. I worked in last
<v Speaker 2>trade most of my life, so that was my fourtebe.
<v Speaker 2>So we were coming down the road and we had
<v Speaker 2>to relieve ourselves. So we got off and aparked my
<v Speaker 2>little twy to pick up, and we, you know, got
<v Speaker 2>off about maybe five ten feet from that, just sitting there,
<v Speaker 2>and it was a little clearing where a creeket came down.
<v Speaker 2>So the red woods are sparse in that area, so
<v Speaker 2>yellow moonlight trickling down, and I started to relieveing myself and
<v Speaker 2>I was sitting my nicknames JD. And my friend George
<v Speaker 2>started stuttering going. He couldn't say my name. I looked
<v Speaker 2>at him and I thought, what is wrong with you? You
<v Speaker 2>know something, something's wrong with you, I mean, and he's pointing.
<v Speaker 2>So I look up and I had I had never
<v Speaker 2>thought see something that I've seen. The most massive, hairy,
<v Speaker 2>backlit creature. He couldn't see the face. What got me,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I I say this my podcast and in
<v Speaker 2>that article before Times was the shoulders. The shoulders were
<v Speaker 2>just wide, I mean every bit of four foot wide.
<v Speaker 2>I asked to make it because I see from the
<v Speaker 2>thighs up I guess that made him to be at
<v Speaker 2>least nine foot tall. And it was just this figure
<v Speaker 2>in front of us, about a hundred feet away up
<v Speaker 2>the hill in the moonlight, just standing there by a tree.
<v Speaker 2>You see later on when I went back in the daytime.
<v Speaker 2>There was a firm so I can only see it
<v Speaker 2>from so far up from the thighs up, but long
<v Speaker 2>danglin arms. You can there was really no head, just
<v Speaker 2>a little bump, so it looked all shoulders with the
<v Speaker 2>had kind of like it just sat right on the shoulders.
<v Speaker 2>The shoulders what got me. And I never thought i'd
<v Speaker 2>see anything like that in my life. I never thought
<v Speaker 2>I'd run into one of these creatures. It spooked me,
<v Speaker 2>this creature as I was looking up at it, and
<v Speaker 2>I had about I had a long neck gear ball,
<v Speaker 2>so we pulled out to have one in my hand.
<v Speaker 2>It was my third one of the night, so I
<v Speaker 2>wasn't drunk or anything. I had it in my hand.
<v Speaker 2>I was looking up in an awe and shock of
<v Speaker 2>what I'm seeing. And this creature started growing like a
<v Speaker 2>deep garbled grunt and sway inside the side.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>And you can see this in the moonlight. And I
<v Speaker 2>you know, I knew from watching a lot of the
<v Speaker 2>animal movies in the seventies while keen them back in
<v Speaker 2>the day. I don't know if you've heard them, because,
<v Speaker 2>like I said, I'll be say this year, it's probably
<v Speaker 2>not a good sign of something swaying, especially eight like
<v Speaker 2>looking creature. I yelled at it for some reason and said, hey,
<v Speaker 2>as as long as I could and through this bottle
<v Speaker 2>apt it. Don't ask me why I did it. It's
<v Speaker 2>just it just something that came to me, like hey,
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna scare it. Or I don't know what came
<v Speaker 2>over me. I just did threw it up at it,
<v Speaker 2>and it had stopped swaying. This all happened in fifteen
<v Speaker 2>to twenty seconds, and we just stopped swaying. I heard
<v Speaker 2>brush being crunchered like underbrush, so I didn't see it
<v Speaker 2>moving towards him, but I figured this thing might be
<v Speaker 2>coming at me or moving or doing something. I turned
<v Speaker 2>to go of the truck, which is about ten foot away.
<v Speaker 2>George was already gone. I was unaware of that. I
<v Speaker 2>went in the car to the truck, started this truck
<v Speaker 2>and proceeded down the hill, and I was spooked. I
<v Speaker 2>was scared. I never thought i'd see anything like that
<v Speaker 2>in my entire life. What got me still was his shoulders.
<v Speaker 2>And I say this because my dad would new people
<v Speaker 2>and we bring wrestlers to our town, and we'd have
<v Speaker 2>different wrestlers around the area, even Sins and I met
<v Speaker 2>Andre the Giant. We'd go to a lot of wrestling matches.
<v Speaker 2>My dad knew him personally, the Rock's grandfather, Chief Peter
<v Speaker 2>my Via. So I had a good judgment of size.
<v Speaker 2>And I still remember Andrey putting his hand around me
<v Speaker 2>when I was eight years old, looking at me like
<v Speaker 2>little Montoya, and you know, I just was an ab
<v Speaker 2>but this, this creature made Andrea look like a midget.
<v Speaker 2>It was just huge, just the groth of it. We
<v Speaker 2>getting back to the story the counter we started for
<v Speaker 2>seeing down the hill, didn't see too much each other,
<v Speaker 2>and as we got down the hill, Uh, my friend
<v Speaker 2>realized that he had swallowed himself a little bit because
<v Speaker 2>he just ran in the car and he asked me,
<v Speaker 2>he goes, well, what the heck is that? It wasn't
<v Speaker 2>in that phrase either, and told him, I guess that's
<v Speaker 2>just what I was looking for, you know what, I've
<v Speaker 2>been wanting to see it and surprised what I see. I
<v Speaker 2>don't want to see it again. It was too close
<v Speaker 2>a comfort. But what I again, the size of it.
<v Speaker 2>If you ever see the size of it is just amazing.
<v Speaker 2>These creatures are massive, at least the one I seen.
<v Speaker 2>I know they come in different shapes and variety is
<v Speaker 2>around the States. But what we've seen up in the
<v Speaker 2>Redwoods a night, it just I can't believe that anything
<v Speaker 2>that large could be on this planet. So that was
<v Speaker 2>the encounter from ninety seven. A year later, we were
<v Speaker 2>up in ninety eight and we were cruising around the area,
<v Speaker 2>and to this day, I gotta go back to this encounter.
<v Speaker 2>I've been up there during the day. I've been out
<v Speaker 2>there several times. I can go anywhere. We go out
<v Speaker 2>squatched a lot around the area. We have access to
<v Speaker 2>private puppy down in the southern Minnesota Driftless area. Go out
<v Speaker 2>to Wisconsin Bigfoot Group over the years, love that been
<v Speaker 2>around the Ozarks and all you're from that area. I'm
<v Speaker 2>not afraid of anything, but that road. It's desolate, it's dark,
<v Speaker 2>it's eerie, and if I can take you there and
<v Speaker 2>have you go to there, you would get the vibe it.
<v Speaker 2>I just can't take myself to this day to go
<v Speaker 2>down that road at night. Been down there during the daytime.
<v Speaker 2>Once you go down that road there in my hometown,
<v Speaker 2>there's really no turning back. You kind of got to
<v Speaker 2>go all the way down. It's very hard to turn around.
<v Speaker 2>So that's that's that en calendar. Getting back to the
<v Speaker 2>ninety eight fast forward again, we were out driving around.
<v Speaker 2>I had my kids at the time, they were younger,
<v Speaker 2>older now playing in the back of my camper show
<v Speaker 2>and we had been up and running around the mountains
<v Speaker 2>again in that area. So we were coming down. This
<v Speaker 2>was more of an overcast night, cloudy late September. It
<v Speaker 2>was kind of drizzily. We came down and you get
<v Speaker 2>a lot of fog on that side. It was just
<v Speaker 2>one of the overcast days. And we were coming down
<v Speaker 2>about ten thirty at night from the mountain on the
<v Speaker 2>side of my town to be the west side, going
<v Speaker 2>towards the beach, coming down, and we're almost down to
<v Speaker 2>the bottom, and we went across this little corner and
<v Speaker 2>a little bridge coming up there with a little covert
<v Speaker 2>and the little creek that runs about thirty foot down
<v Speaker 2>and they go straight up the mountain from there and
<v Speaker 2>then mountain to the right of us. As we were
<v Speaker 2>cruising around a corner, my boy in the back said, Dad, look,
<v Speaker 2>And when I looked up, I just caught a glimpse.
<v Speaker 2>Didn't look nothing like we seen before. I caught a
<v Speaker 2>glimpse of an upright creature. Dark. It had you know,
<v Speaker 2>the fur on it. You can see it in the
<v Speaker 2>headlights real quick. When I looked, it was already across
<v Speaker 2>the middle divider. And these roads are very narrow. I
<v Speaker 2>mean it was like a one lane road with the
<v Speaker 2>line going down the middle. So that's I don't even
<v Speaker 2>know how they make these roads that small, but it's
<v Speaker 2>been that way in my hometown for years. Never got
<v Speaker 2>wide because of the different you know, train and you
<v Speaker 2>get much sides here and there. This creature when I looked,
<v Speaker 2>was just on the middle divider and then hopped over
<v Speaker 2>the edge. And that's about all I him, but maybe
<v Speaker 2>a second second and a half at the most. I
<v Speaker 2>immediately told my lady to stop. My wife at the time.
<v Speaker 2>I got off the truck and I went around there,
<v Speaker 2>and I wanted to see what this thing was. I
<v Speaker 2>was a little it was unnerving, but I still wanted
<v Speaker 2>to see this. Didn't have a flashlight with me, and
<v Speaker 2>I stopped at the didge of the road. I couldn't
<v Speaker 2>see nothing. It was just black. I mean, it was
<v Speaker 2>just too dark, and I listened, didn't hear nothing moving.
<v Speaker 2>But I had that feeling of being watched, that same
<v Speaker 2>feeling I had when I was had the rock hit
<v Speaker 2>and it was very strong at this time, really strong
<v Speaker 2>what got me that night? And I was sitting there
<v Speaker 2>on this. I didn't sit there too long, you know,
<v Speaker 2>maybe twenty seconds at the most, maybe thirty if you push.
<v Speaker 2>It was this buzzing. I had a buzzing in my
<v Speaker 2>like a It wasn't a ring, and it was like
<v Speaker 2>a kinda like a buzzing. Funny. He like, disoriented. I've
<v Speaker 2>heard of infra sound. I don't know if that was it,
<v Speaker 2>but I felt like I was something was hitting me
<v Speaker 2>in the whole body. Just I felt disoriented. I tried

<v Speaker 2>proceeded back to the truck and did you see things?
<v Speaker 2>And no, no, it's too dark. So we left. Either.
<v Speaker 2>My boys were screaming, Dad, get in here. You know,
<v Speaker 2>they were freaking out. Malla's boy said he never seen nothing.
<v Speaker 2>He had his back turned so he didn't see. My
<v Speaker 2>youngest boy was facing the cab through the little siding
<v Speaker 2>glass when it was He's the one that noticed At
<v Speaker 2>first he had been looking in the front, you know,
<v Speaker 2>looking out towards where we were going. But when I
<v Speaker 2>went back to the next day, I did find an
<v Speaker 2>impression and it looked like whatever had stepped and it
<v Speaker 2>was pretty wide, had the mid tarsel break. It looked
<v Speaker 2>like he had pushed off between the road, the dirt
<v Speaker 2>and the grass there on the edge, and there was
<v Speaker 2>an indentation, and then there were bushes about fifteen foot down.
<v Speaker 2>Looked like something past that. They were still there. They
<v Speaker 2>didn't look like something had went down and disturbed all
<v Speaker 2>the bushes in the glass going down towards the creek.
<v Speaker 2>So it did look like something large had launched itself off,
<v Speaker 2>and then when it landed, it had disrupted the bushes
<v Speaker 2>going down to the creek. And again that was ninety seven.
<v Speaker 2>Since then, I've never seen anything. Many times I've thought
<v Speaker 2>I've been in the presence of them. We do research
<v Speaker 2>in southern Minnesota, which we're going to hit out here shortly.
<v Speaker 2>It's private acreage. There's a lot of different farms in
<v Speaker 2>that area owned by cousins and family. Probably toldly about
<v Speaker 2>four hundred and eighty acres, and if you ever look
<v Speaker 2>up the driftless area. It's a unique area with a
<v Speaker 2>lot of wildlife. Always putting trail camp pictures on. But
<v Speaker 2>I've taken over fifteen reports of these creatures. The farmers
<v Speaker 2>don't like to go down there in that area where
<v Speaker 2>we go I do. I go down there three four
<v Speaker 2>in the morning. I'll stay out there most of the night.
<v Speaker 2>And I remember one night when I was out there,
<v Speaker 2>I had something I believe follow me around the ravine
<v Speaker 2>where we camp out. So this is again in Spring Valley, Minnesota,
<v Speaker 2>but we go up to Lacrosse. I've got cams up there,
<v Speaker 2>have friends Dan Dedello, great researcher and good buddy of ours.
<v Speaker 2>We're gonna be going up in May in June up
<v Speaker 2>to by the Kilmarine Forests in Wisconsin. But never ever
<v Speaker 2>have I seen anything other than California. That's where the
<v Speaker 2>sightings where I had the class A and a lot
<v Speaker 2>of vocals, you know, over the years. Spring Valley where
<v Speaker 2>we research, that's our main research. Here's an hour from
<v Speaker 2>our hometown, our house here where reside now Spring Valley is.
<v Speaker 2>It's just multiple sites. They're on the Bigfoot Mapping project
<v Speaker 2>on the Via Parallem. There's a couple of reports a
<v Speaker 2>person had seen one of these creatures, and I can
<v Speaker 2>go on to that story. This is again spring Bellley, Minnesota,
<v Speaker 2>Southern Minnesota, Triftless area. What got me interested in that
<v Speaker 2>area was a friend of mine named Adam. He had
<v Speaker 2>told me a story of about a mile away of
<v Speaker 2>a friend that his mom has a answer and his
<v Speaker 2>brothers crossed the way about a mile had an incident
<v Speaker 2>on these creatures where he had a big brush fire
<v Speaker 2>about the size of you know, a vehicle, you know,
<v Speaker 2>on the farm where you're burning up brush and h
<v Speaker 2>he was sitting out there with his son and he
<v Speaker 2>was having a cold beer and you know, had a
<v Speaker 2>gun beside there, and they were just sitting around the
<v Speaker 2>campfire and you heard some crashing in the brush and
<v Speaker 2>you wasn't sure what was going on that just some
<v Speaker 2>something making a fast kind of some growls, and he thought,
<v Speaker 2>man and once in a while get a bear come through.
<v Speaker 2>So first he thought maybe deer. Then we hear the
<v Speaker 2>grouse stop, maybe to be a bear. So he had
<v Speaker 2>his gun there he always does when he's on the pub.
<v Speaker 2>He has a hundred acres or one hundred acres out
<v Speaker 2>in that area, and he was, you know, wondering what
<v Speaker 2>it was, and then he heard some screams, which really
<v Speaker 2>was unnerving. I guess after a little bit, you know,
<v Speaker 2>maybe a minute, this thing had came out out of
<v Speaker 2>the woodline, and he said it was about like my
<v Speaker 2>eight and a half to nine foot tall. I haven't
<v Speaker 2>talked to the guy yet, and he's seen a hairy,
<v Speaker 2>bipeal creature looking at him in the sun and he
<v Speaker 2>freaked out and you can see it with the big
<v Speaker 2>bush fire, and it just screamed at him. He don't
<v Speaker 2>know what it wanted or why it was screaming at him,
<v Speaker 2>but he grabbed his son. He would even pick up
<v Speaker 2>his gun. He said, from what I heard, this is
<v Speaker 2>the secondhand story from my friend, which I believe to
<v Speaker 2>be true. He doesn't, you know, telling me lies or well,
<v Speaker 2>why would he make this up? But he said the
<v Speaker 2>guy I know his name Steve. He said the gun
<v Speaker 2>probably wouldn't did anything to this creature, but he proceeded
<v Speaker 2>to grab his sun and pick him up and run
<v Speaker 2>in the house. He said, this thing was thrashing around
<v Speaker 2>and screaming and just making a bunch of noise. Before
<v Speaker 2>that happened, I think it picked up a branch if
<v Speaker 2>I remember or log and threw it at him, but
<v Speaker 2>not hitting him. But he proceeded to go into the
<v Speaker 2>house and just stayed in there most of the night.
<v Speaker 2>When he came out the next day, and he had
<v Speaker 2>on this property ten years, got to mention that never
<v Speaker 2>had any he hunted, that never seen anything, never heard anything,
<v Speaker 2>never had anything of this nature happen. When he went
<v Speaker 2>back out there, he noticed seventeen and a half footprints
<v Speaker 2>seventeen a half inch footprints all around the area and
<v Speaker 2>going into the forest. And I believe he has pictures
<v Speaker 2>of him which I still want to see, and he's
<v Speaker 2>very secluded, only talk nobody about it. Really, not a
<v Speaker 2>conversational person came to himself, so it might be hard
<v Speaker 2>to get that story from him. But he's had the
<v Speaker 2>individual that told me, as my friend told me that
<v Speaker 2>he had seen the picture and they were pretty deep
<v Speaker 2>in the ground and they were massive. So that's what
<v Speaker 2>peaud our interests in this area. And over the last
<v Speaker 2>five years, as I started researching the area, I noticed
<v Speaker 2>that there wasn't just one or two. I started receiving
<v Speaker 2>more reports. Even after I did, I did a podcast
<v Speaker 2>with Bick Society. The friend Jeremiah. I got an email
<v Speaker 2>from a guy that said that he his mom and
<v Speaker 2>dad had an incident down there in the Spring Valley
<v Speaker 2>area at Masonic Park where they were camping their back
<v Speaker 2>in the eighties and a couple of these creatures. They
<v Speaker 2>noticed something moving on top of this bluff which is
<v Speaker 2>about one hundred feet up or more to rock Face,
<v Speaker 2>and then they had to come down around the rock
<v Speaker 2>face down by the campsite. When they're there and they
<v Speaker 2>were screaming, they had hurt screams and these dark figures
<v Speaker 2>moving around. Their dog ran the truck, so they got
<v Speaker 2>scooped and hopped in the truck and went to leave
<v Speaker 2>out of there, and two of these creatures went across
<v Speaker 2>the dirt road in the headlights. So they actually spotted
<v Speaker 2>these creatures, which was amazing. So we've we've got cameras
<v Speaker 2>out in that area as well as a research area
<v Speaker 2>that we took three months to clean out. They give
<v Speaker 2>us permission to clean out on her Foot area so
<v Speaker 2>we can we do our research down there. We're not
<v Speaker 2>allowed to bring a lot of people out, but we're
<v Speaker 2>allowed to bring a couple of time if we want.
<v Speaker 2>But it's a very interesting place with a lot of reports,
<v Speaker 2>including the one I gotta get you a water, excuse me,
<v Speaker 2>including the few that we took. One of the cousins
<v Speaker 2>of the landowner that where we have permission to research.
<v Speaker 2>He said that they were selling off ten acre plots
<v Speaker 2>back in the day, I think it was the nineties,
<v Speaker 2>and there's a dam down there, and he said on
<v Speaker 2>one of the pictures he's going to try to find
<v Speaker 2>him because his dadd had passed away, and they put
<v Speaker 2>up an attic. But when they're taking pictures of lots,
<v Speaker 2>he said, by the damn, and one of these pictures
<v Speaker 2>he noticed a black figure. There was crouch. They was
<v Speaker 2>a bear in the second picture. It looks like it's
<v Speaker 2>standing up erected. It doesn't look like Perry said. It
<v Speaker 2>looks like a giant Harry ape of some type. And
<v Speaker 2>he asked the men had to be almost ten foot tall.
<v Speaker 2>But this area has a lot of reports and there's
<v Speaker 2>even a hellhound report that Chad Lewis, our friend, wrote
<v Speaker 2>about in the Forestville State Park, which is about eight
<v Speaker 2>miles from our research area, very close. So there's just
<v Speaker 2>so many reports there that we just got to continue
<v Speaker 2>investigating that area. Questions for me at elmguil.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Absolutely. When you heard that vocalization in California, what
<v Speaker 1>do you what do you think it meant?
<v Speaker 2>It was just like the Ohio House. So if you've
<v Speaker 2>heard the Ohio Hall, it's a long, dragged out kind
<v Speaker 2>of how so it didn't sound like it was aggression.
<v Speaker 2>If I go back now that the more I've been
<v Speaker 2>done over the years, I think it was trying to
<v Speaker 2>either a meeting call or a call to another person,
<v Speaker 2>I mean person, another creature that might have been in
<v Speaker 2>the area, because it didn't sound like it was close.
<v Speaker 2>Sound like it was it was down in the valley,
<v Speaker 2>so I'd an estimated a mile away at least, So
<v Speaker 2>I think it was trying to call out maybe to
<v Speaker 2>another individual.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so you think it's possibly like a locator call.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, exactly exactly. Now on getting back to that area,
<v Speaker 2>which the California's the area, me and my lady in
<v Speaker 2>twenty eighteen went out there the area and we're looking around.
<v Speaker 2>I forgot to mention this because I got so many
<v Speaker 2>stories they all intertwined at times, and we had went
<v Speaker 2>to research an area. We're going to take a walk
<v Speaker 2>out in the Redwoods. I had a little Honda I
<v Speaker 2>borrowed off my cousin and we parked the car. We're
<v Speaker 2>proceeding down the meadow and we got about a half
<v Speaker 2>a mile down in they we're going to go to
<v Speaker 2>a little hole in the redwoods in the forest there,
<v Speaker 2>and we started here and knocking, and it was a
<v Speaker 2>series of five knocks. And it's not like something you
<v Speaker 2>was building a house. I've heard knocks before. I know
<v Speaker 2>you've been research and I'm sure you've heard them, but
<v Speaker 2>it was seriously if I noted that, I thought that's strange.
<v Speaker 2>So we stopped in the meadow before we got to
<v Speaker 2>the forest area and just listened, and I try to
<v Speaker 2>record it. I had an older phone back then you
<v Speaker 2>can vaguely hear it. I got to enhance that well.
<v Speaker 2>I can find audio. But we sat there and listened,
<v Speaker 2>and after about maybe forty five seconds, we heard knocks,
<v Speaker 2>the same series five patterns coming to the left of us,
<v Speaker 2>you know, and the brush on the other side, and
<v Speaker 2>that's a pretty big football size metal So I told
<v Speaker 2>her that is weird. There's no houses out here. This
<v Speaker 2>is meltmet down the park. It's on the outskirts. There's
<v Speaker 2>few buildings way down, you know. Eight ten miles away,
<v Speaker 2>but there's nothing in this vicinity, so I don't not
<v Speaker 2>incess as forest rangers down there, which we were the
<v Speaker 2>only ones in the park because we had cruise of
<v Speaker 2>park and there's one camper there and that that's odds.
<v Speaker 2>We proceed to listen, and then the knocks came again
<v Speaker 2>in front of us from the same area. So I
<v Speaker 2>told her, you know, I think we're just an't go
<v Speaker 2>back and get up by the car and we can,
<v Speaker 2>you know, just listen. So we proceeded to go back
<v Speaker 2>towards the car. As we did, we heard knocks now
<v Speaker 2>on to the right of us. So now we're getting
<v Speaker 2>surrounded by knocks on each side, and there were the
<v Speaker 2>same series of five, which didn't make any sense. What
<v Speaker 2>that meant I still don't know, because if you notice
<v Speaker 2>the US, you know, humans, we all do a series
<v Speaker 2>of three knocks. It's why we do that, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>It's if you ever look people when they do what knocks?
<v Speaker 2>So one, two, three, this was a series of five,
<v Speaker 2>which doesn't really mean anything, but it was different, So
<v Speaker 2>we did. We did go back in the car, and
<v Speaker 2>we after we sat there, we didn't hear anything else.
<v Speaker 2>After sat there about twenty minutes, and then we proceeded
<v Speaker 2>around the park, which was stranger. We were gonna go
<v Speaker 2>back to the same way we came. There was a
<v Speaker 2>tree pushed over across the road, and pretty sizable tree,
<v Speaker 2>talking about thirty five forty feet and I got pictured
<v Speaker 2>and I said, that's weird. That wasn't here when we
<v Speaker 2>went through. I mean, it doesn't look too dry like
<v Speaker 2>it just fell over, but anything's possible. I didn't know
<v Speaker 2>what to think of that, but we got off to
<v Speaker 2>look at it. We sat there for maybe a minute
<v Speaker 2>or two, and then all of a sudden we started
<v Speaker 2>getting pebbled rocks, which is very weird. And it was
<v Speaker 2>two thirty and a half. Dude, I can look around.
<v Speaker 2>I've been in this area all my life and we're
<v Speaker 2>just visiting from Minnesota now because we reside here. I've
<v Speaker 2>moved here in two thousand and I told Aprol, I, go,
<v Speaker 2>this don't make any sense. I can look up there
<v Speaker 2>and don't see anything. So I didn't get pebbled anymore.
<v Speaker 2>So we started walking back and we had a Kia,
<v Speaker 2>which not fun on them. That was the only brown
<v Speaker 2>car they had, so and I always made jokes about
<v Speaker 2>that so we started going back to the Kia, and
<v Speaker 2>we started getting pebbled again with a little bigger rocks. Again.
<v Speaker 2>We stopped, looked around, try to get a visual on
<v Speaker 2>what's going on. So I yelled a knock it off,
<v Speaker 2>you know, you know, maybe the camp the only one
<v Speaker 2>that we've seen there. Didn't hear nothing, so we started walking.
<v Speaker 2>We almost got back to the car. We got pebbled again,
<v Speaker 2>so I said, well, they want to keep going, Pebble's
<v Speaker 2>ass let them. So we got in the vehicle and
<v Speaker 2>I told I know another way out. So luckily there
<v Speaker 2>was another road out, so we can get out of there.
<v Speaker 2>But don't know what that meant. Don't know that anything
<v Speaker 2>to do with the bigfoot lower if it was one
<v Speaker 2>of these creatures, but it was odd, very odd.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, absolutely, I feel like the five knocks could have
<v Speaker 1>met that there were people in the area, because I've
<v Speaker 1>heard the same thing, and I feel like they're warning
<v Speaker 1>each other. What are your thoughts about that?
<v Speaker 2>Very possible? I take that very I think. I think
<v Speaker 2>that's a very good possibility because excuse me, because you
<v Speaker 2>know humans, we usually do the three knocks, so it's
<v Speaker 2>a it's a good possibility. That's what that knocks meant.
<v Speaker 2>And as we venture into his laura and go out
<v Speaker 2>and do our research, maybe there'll be a pattern, you know,
<v Speaker 2>that evolves out of that. You know that we can say, hey,
<v Speaker 2>this is what this means. You know. I met Scott
<v Speaker 2>Nelson and I don't know if you ever heard him
<v Speaker 2>break down. He's from Missouri break Down. The Ohio calls
<v Speaker 2>and I mean Ohio, Sierra Nevada, you know, calls it.
<v Speaker 2>Ron Mooreheadhead And it's interesting when I've never heard him
<v Speaker 2>when we were at the Minnesota BIC for comments, I
<v Speaker 2>never heard him slow down. And when you slow them down,
<v Speaker 2>it's amazing.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Absolutely, I saw him at the conference in Illinois
<v Speaker 1>with Ron Moorehead and it was really cool to hear
<v Speaker 1>his take and the way he analyzed the audio on
<v Speaker 1>the audio software and slowed it down and you could
<v Speaker 1>almost hear a distinct language. And there's a lot going
<v Speaker 1>on there.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yes, exactly like I said, I had the pillows
<v Speaker 2>of medium and we actually him out afterwards too. Abe
<v Speaker 2>del Rio puts on the Minnesota Bigfoot conference. I go
<v Speaker 2>there every year. He's a good friend of mine. We
<v Speaker 2>go out and do a little forging once in a
<v Speaker 2>while or grab a taco. I tease him, I call
<v Speaker 2>him Abel tak del Rio. But yeah, he's a good
<v Speaker 2>friend of mine. I got Scott's number, and I'm hoping
<v Speaker 2>to be up in the Missouri area time in the future.
<v Speaker 2>And we've been to the ozarks and ventured around a
<v Speaker 2>little bit during the daytime, never at night. So hopefully,
<v Speaker 2>you know, we can get out in that area and
<v Speaker 2>do some research too as well. We're gonna be out
<v Speaker 2>like again in Wisconsin twice this year if everything goes right,
<v Speaker 2>I mean, things come up, you know, as as usual
<v Speaker 2>for any of us, you know, if something might come
<v Speaker 2>up where we just can't make it. But our plans
<v Speaker 2>to make it up there twice this year. The Kelmarine
<v Speaker 2>was very interesting the first time, and we plan to
<v Speaker 2>do that again. I remember the last time I was there,
<v Speaker 2>they had another we break up in teams. One of
<v Speaker 2>the teams have got a ten inch print which looked
<v Speaker 2>pretty good. I was out with another person. I think
<v Speaker 2>he takes off people from the BFRO Tom Norstrom, but
<v Speaker 2>but anyway, I remember seeing like it looked to me
<v Speaker 2>like a little me that was an eyeballs. I got
<v Speaker 2>white glow and then it kind of disappeared and then
<v Speaker 2>it would come back on like bright again, like a
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. It was about five foot up. I
<v Speaker 2>guesstimate there was nobody out there. This is in the
<v Speaker 2>middle of nowhere. But what it was I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>And then it moved a little bit and disappeared. But
<v Speaker 2>it just was one It wasn't two eyes. It was strange.
<v Speaker 2>So what it was, I don't know, but I'd want
<v Speaker 2>to get back out there and investigate on the Spring
<v Speaker 2>Valley area. Lit Miguel. We've been out there with the ranger,
<v Speaker 2>been out there at night. My lady and a friend.
<v Speaker 2>We were out there one night and I played back
<v Speaker 2>some video and we actually caught some reddish amber eyes
<v Speaker 2>in two different locations at night. We were out driving around.
<v Speaker 2>I would park and we'd sit for about twenty minutes
<v Speaker 2>and get the flair out and all our gadgets. As
<v Speaker 2>we came around a tee and there's a lot of
<v Speaker 2>creeks going around there and they branch off and farmers
<v Speaker 2>fields and woods. But we were out there, had to
<v Speaker 2>be about two thirty in the morning, and we had
<v Speaker 2>parked and didn't notice his eyes. So I played back,
<v Speaker 2>you know, a lot of times. You don't notice a
<v Speaker 2>lot of this until you play back the video. You
<v Speaker 2>don't notice anything. And he's, oh, look, look what's in there.
<v Speaker 2>But as we parked, I got off and I was
<v Speaker 2>looking towards the creek with my flair, and all of
<v Speaker 2>a sudden, my friend Wady goes, look, look, look John,
<v Speaker 2>look And I turned around and lady a point. He
<v Speaker 2>was looking towards the field. I go, what. He goes,
<v Speaker 2>something dark just stood up and ran across the field.
<v Speaker 2>And I go, you're kidding me. He goes, no. We
<v Speaker 2>weren't trying to be quiet. It was exciting, you know.
<v Speaker 2>So here I turned around my flaar and I looked around.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't see you go eight point. He goes, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I see it too well. It looked like and they
<v Speaker 2>swore it had a pointed years, they said, look like
<v Speaker 2>I had pointed years. Wasn't very tall. It just looked
<v Speaker 2>like at pointed ears. It was dark. They didn't really
<v Speaker 2>see it, you know, clearly, but I looked upright like
<v Speaker 2>a figure running across like a human across the field. Again,
<v Speaker 2>this is private property. There's nobody out there. They would
<v Speaker 2>we we have you know, they get shot you know
<v Speaker 2>we're packing all the time. You know, I don't carry,
<v Speaker 2>but my friends do. I never carry. Some people tell
<v Speaker 2>me I should. I agree, I should have a side on,
<v Speaker 2>but I just got bear spray and my gadgets and
<v Speaker 2>never carry any weapon with me. Heed his april. But
<v Speaker 2>he does, and you know he used to be a
<v Speaker 2>security guard, so he has permitted to carry. And he
<v Speaker 2>didn't even bring that out. He has it in the
<v Speaker 2>vehicle in the little ranger. But I turned around and
<v Speaker 2>I didn't get a visual on it. But he's seen
<v Speaker 2>it when a lady seen it. What it was. It
<v Speaker 2>zoomed across that field with lightning speed, and it was
<v Speaker 2>about six six and a half feet tall, not very wide,
<v Speaker 2>nothing like what I've seen in California. They say that
<v Speaker 2>was more slender. But again it was just a dark figure,
<v Speaker 2>so hard to really uh you know, define him and
<v Speaker 2>thing in it. It was just you know, any outline.
<v Speaker 2>It was just a dark figure, but it was it
<v Speaker 2>stood up and ran on two legs. That that much
<v Speaker 2>they could see. Again, they found coyotes torn up there.
<v Speaker 2>I've got video that I talk about it. Excuse me.
<v Speaker 2>They've got coyotes that they found torn to pieces out
<v Speaker 2>there in a pile two of them. There's a lot
<v Speaker 2>of kyouts, a lot of recently in the last three years,
<v Speaker 2>a group of bobcats. I think it's a male and
<v Speaker 2>two females out there, you know, just a lot of wildlife.
<v Speaker 2>So it would be an area where a big creature
<v Speaker 2>could have stayed itself and come in out of and
<v Speaker 2>have resources. So I love that area. But that that
<v Speaker 2>was one visual day had I've never had anything. One
<v Speaker 2>night I went down there. Usually after we get done
<v Speaker 2>squatchings the weekend, we'll take one night out and then
<v Speaker 2>sit around the fire after we get back and use
<v Speaker 2>it by midnight and all indulge in a few drinks
<v Speaker 2>and hang out till the wee hours of the night.
<v Speaker 2>I remember one night, about three in the morning, a
<v Speaker 2>little liquid courage and I thought, I'm gonna go down
<v Speaker 2>and get that last camera I missed by the creek.
<v Speaker 2>It's about a quartermolet down, you know, and they're like,
<v Speaker 2>my lady was totally against it, you know, you don't
<v Speaker 2>need to go down there, And I'm gonna just take
<v Speaker 2>a beer and go down there and get it. So
<v Speaker 2>I went down there by myself, probably about three in
<v Speaker 2>the morning because I came back up at four and
<v Speaker 2>I was trying to get this stubborn camera. I tied
<v Speaker 2>in knots with a flashlight holding my mouth, try and
<v Speaker 2>get it undone. And it's been down there for years,
<v Speaker 2>so it was kind of full of dust, and you know,
<v Speaker 2>they didn't want distraft in one on tie right, and
<v Speaker 2>I was right by the creek and it's very eerie
<v Speaker 2>down there. Two and it's just a little quarridor going
<v Speaker 2>all the way down there, creeking the ravine on the

<v Speaker 2>and they thought a lot of limestone rock, that's probably
<v Speaker 2>just a deer. So I started tiny camera and I
<v Speaker 2>hear something moving again, so I started getting a little spoops.
<v Speaker 2>I'm trying to get this camera. Finally I got loose
<v Speaker 2>and I just started snapping pictures up there and pictures,
<v Speaker 2>and I said, okay, well maybe something will show up,
<v Speaker 2>and had my night flash on my phone I had,
<v Speaker 2>so I started to walk back up the hill and
<v Speaker 2>I do have chronic lung issues, so uphill is horrible
<v Speaker 2>for me. So I started walking up and I heard
<v Speaker 2>something across the ravine following me, and it sounded like
<v Speaker 2>two feet, not a deer or you know, there's no bear.
<v Speaker 2>That sounded like somebody was flanking me and walking on
<v Speaker 2>two feet, and when I'd stopped, it would stop. So
<v Speaker 2>I really started getting spooked at that point because I'm
<v Speaker 2>by myself. So I started walking back up and I'd
<v Speaker 2>stopped on purpose and then it would stop. But I
<v Speaker 2>could hear it follow me up across the ravine and
<v Speaker 2>hear the bushes snapping when I go. You can hear
<v Speaker 2>cracking and going through the bush. So I started getting
<v Speaker 2>spooped and trying to go up and had to stop
<v Speaker 2>couple times because I got chronic asthma ronchitas since I
<v Speaker 2>was born, and it was kicking in pretty heavy and
<v Speaker 2>took my hal and I was he didn't really spook
<v Speaker 2>to this point, and it did that for a good
<v Speaker 2>two hundred feet before I didn't hear it no more.
<v Speaker 2>So I got back up the campsite, thinking that maybe
<v Speaker 2>it might have been it was only my lady and
<v Speaker 2>my friend Adam, you know his mom owns the farm there,
<v Speaker 2>and his brothers, you know, owned the farms around there.
<v Speaker 2>And I got up there and they were sitting there.
<v Speaker 2>I go, you're lucky made it back, because if you weren't,
<v Speaker 2>we were about ready to go down. And he's got
<v Speaker 2>one prosaic leg. He's you know, Adam does my friend,
<v Speaker 2>he's only got one leg. So I talked to him
<v Speaker 2>to get all the way down there and up sometimes.
<v Speaker 2>But my lady was going to go down there and
<v Speaker 2>look for me. And I made it back and had
<v Speaker 2>told him I thought you guys were down there because
<v Speaker 2>something was following me, and well, I told you not
<v Speaker 2>to go down there. And my friend's like, oh really, well,
<v Speaker 2>how much did you have to he's joking with me,
<v Speaker 2>and I don't know how serious. Something was following me,
<v Speaker 2>and I don't know what it was. But on some
<v Speaker 2>of the picks, it does look like there's a dark figure.
<v Speaker 2>I can't say it is or is it, but it
<v Speaker 2>does look like there's something up in the tree line
<v Speaker 2>looking down. And if it is, it had to be
<v Speaker 2>up about twelve feet in a tree, holding on between
<v Speaker 2>two limbs. So I'm not sure if I capture something
<v Speaker 2>or not. But again, it's in my archives because it's
<v Speaker 2>a possibility, but I'm not sure. I'll tell you I
<v Speaker 2>will never ever. I was warned not to go down
<v Speaker 2>to by myself because they have heard stuff seeing stuff.
<v Speaker 2>I've heard some screams out there, and there's a bobcat
<v Speaker 2>around there that sounds like a lady screaming. Not sure
<v Speaker 2>if it's anything or not, but I don't think it's
<v Speaker 2>a bobcat. I've had a howl that was really close
<v Speaker 2>to our campsite one night. It sounds like a wolf
<v Speaker 2>or a giant coyote. It was really loud, but it
<v Speaker 2>kind of a plateaus. It was like a siren. So
<v Speaker 2>either it's a wolf that might have been venturing through,
<v Speaker 2>or or something mimicking a wolf, or something all together,
<v Speaker 2>something different. But it spooked us, and it was strange
<v Speaker 2>that when we caught that howl is for two weeks
<v Speaker 2>we didn't have no movement in the forest. It was quiet,
<v Speaker 2>and the second week we went out there to the camp
<v Speaker 2>because we go out on weekends. He has a dog,
<v Speaker 2>it's a rescue dogs. Finally, when it looks it's just
<v Speaker 2>like one of them dogs, like if he were watched
<v Speaker 2>Lassie And that night we got there and this dog
<v Speaker 2>but eight and at night it just was staring at
<v Speaker 2>the It sat right by the drive going down to
<v Speaker 2>the creek and where a campsite is, and it was
<v Speaker 2>just sitting there staring at the forest. And I go,
<v Speaker 2>what's wrong with your dog? And it didn't move for
<v Speaker 2>about five inches. Probably a coon or something, you know,
<v Speaker 2>he probably fixated on something. So next thing you know,
<v Speaker 2>the dog just gets up and walks back up to
<v Speaker 2>the farmhouse. And I thought, which is a little bit
<v Speaker 2>of ways and done. Huh, he goes ah, he's being goofy.
<v Speaker 2>So we didn't think nothing of it that night by
<v Speaker 2>the ravine. I always put my tent by the ravines.
<v Speaker 2>I like to be right worthy action is if I can.
<v Speaker 2>And again, it took us three and a half months
<v Speaker 2>to clear out this air, nothing but sticker, bushes and trees,
<v Speaker 2>and it's like a half moon section when you put
<v Speaker 2>four tints and we got a little firing in the middle.
<v Speaker 2>Took a while, but we had a growl about eight
<v Speaker 2>thirty after the dog left right behind my tit and
<v Speaker 2>it was a deep growl. Don't know what it was.
<v Speaker 2>It was weird. It didn't sound like any animal there.
<v Speaker 2>It was just a strange growl, and I asked him.
<v Speaker 2>He looked at him in april and goes, you guys
<v Speaker 2>hear that, and they go, you mean that growl? Said exactly,
<v Speaker 2>and they said, yeah, we did. Uh huh. So I
<v Speaker 2>went over there with my red light and looked around
<v Speaker 2>and has red spotlight and didn't see anything. So I
<v Speaker 2>didn't get out the player. I just thought, well, maybe
<v Speaker 2>it was an animal sometime. So we went out with
<v Speaker 2>our you know, carabal tear and our flares thing, went
<v Speaker 2>out for a couple hours and down by the creek,
<v Speaker 2>up by the bluff, and we came back and sat
<v Speaker 2>down by the fire pit and sided, well, I think
<v Speaker 2>we'll just monk to the campsite and you know, have
<v Speaker 2>a few and just hang out tonight. So we're sitting
<v Speaker 2>there and within about a half hours of sitting down
<v Speaker 2>by the campfire disipintent or eleven, we heard that growl again.
<v Speaker 2>Not that what the heck is that? So then I
<v Speaker 2>got my flare out looking around down the ravine, walked
<v Speaker 2>up the little waist and it does you know, I
<v Speaker 2>don't care how I've been doing this, we get you
<v Speaker 2>a little nerve, And I thought I don't know what
<v Speaker 2>that was. So went back by the fireplace, i mean
<v Speaker 2>the fire pit, sat down, relaxed, turned up the music
<v Speaker 2>a little bit, just sat around, didn't think nothing of it,
<v Speaker 2>and it was nice and we were having fun. About
<v Speaker 2>two o'clock in the morning, we were sitting there still
<v Speaker 2>and had the music low, you know, just chit chat,
<v Speaker 2>and we heard that growl one way time. At that point,
<v Speaker 2>I thought, what the heck is this? So we proceeded
<v Speaker 2>and look around again. I got my lights out. I
<v Speaker 2>could not see anything. Don't know what that was. To
<v Speaker 2>this day, I don't know what it was. The strange
<v Speaker 2>thing is it didn't happen any any It didn't happen
<v Speaker 2>the rest of that night. It didn't happen. The next
<v Speaker 2>week came out. You can hear all the the wolves came,
<v Speaker 2>I mean the coyotes come out at ten at night,
<v Speaker 2>almost like clockwork, and hear them howl, and you can
<v Speaker 2>hear you can hear the forest, you can hear it
<v Speaker 2>come live again. But for them two weeks it was
<v Speaker 2>eerily quiet, which was very strange. And being out in
<v Speaker 2>the woods most of my life, I know there's got
<v Speaker 2>to be a big preda or something. Around if that
<v Speaker 2>force is quiet, I mean, it just didn't make any sense.
<v Speaker 2>But that was three years ago, and I've never had
<v Speaker 2>it happen. We've been out there for five years, haven't
<v Speaker 2>had that happened since. So something had to be around
<v Speaker 2>the campsite. Not sure what it was, but it was
<v Speaker 2>definitely something there visiting that night.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, absolutely, And it makes sense why you've had so
<v Speaker 1>many experiences. You're out there researching and following up on
<v Speaker 1>reports and Bigfoot active areas. Would you say Minnesota is
<v Speaker 1>more active than California or do you think California is
<v Speaker 1>more active?
<v Speaker 2>You know, when I first moved here in two thousand,
<v Speaker 2>I always thought California was the hot spot of all
<v Speaker 2>bigfit activity, just because you know, it's kind of where
<v Speaker 2>it originated. A lot of it from, you know, up
<v Speaker 2>in northern California, you know, Humble County and you know
<v Speaker 2>around the area Shasta. You know, it's not too far
<v Speaker 2>from my hometown. You know, you always hear it. It's
<v Speaker 2>just growing up, you've heard reports. Although in the seventies
<v Speaker 2>as a kid, there wasn't a lot of literature or
<v Speaker 2>books on the subject. You know, I was into Luckness
<v Speaker 2>Monster UFOs when you're into this type of field. It
<v Speaker 2>kind of goes hand in hand. I mean, we even
<v Speaker 2>do paranormal investigations with different groups. We'll go out with them,
<v Speaker 2>and I love that up too. But my forte is
<v Speaker 2>a sasquatch or bigfoot, and hence that's why I calls
<v Speaker 2>the Midnight Squatters, because we're out there after midnight a lot,
<v Speaker 2>and that's where I got the name from. I remember
<v Speaker 2>one time we were talking with she squatchs when they
<v Speaker 2>started getting started back in fifteen sixteen and up Inrim, Minnesota,
<v Speaker 2>and they always told me, why don't you start a group.
<v Speaker 2>You haven't eve been doing this long enough. I go, well,
<v Speaker 2>if I ever did, i'd sit throughout late at night.
<v Speaker 2>It'd probably be the Midnight Squatters. And that's how that
<v Speaker 2>kind of derived. But yeah, we love getting out in
<v Speaker 2>the woods and I don't care if it's fishing. Don't
<v Speaker 2>do much, honey anymore. A lot of fishing, just a
<v Speaker 2>lot of recreational hiking and just enjoy nature. So you know,
<v Speaker 2>as much as we can get out there, we will,
<v Speaker 2>and it kind of goes hand in hand, you know,
<v Speaker 2>trout fishing, anything, you know, when you're out in the woods,
<v Speaker 2>it's just so peaceful and we're doing your research team
<v Speaker 2>in piece until you have a couple of howls or
<v Speaker 2>growls or our sticks, you know, creaking at night, and
<v Speaker 2>then it kind of it teakes your entes and also
<v Speaker 2>gets your h The excitement of it is just amazing.
<v Speaker 2>I love it. But it can be unnerving at times too.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, absolutely, that creature that you encountered in California,
<v Speaker 1>the one that your son pointed out. How big do
<v Speaker 1>you estimate that bigfoot to be?
<v Speaker 2>It was to me when I got a glimpse of it,
<v Speaker 2>which very briefly, it did not look half the size
<v Speaker 2>the one I see it look more. I'd say it
<v Speaker 2>about maybe seven foot tall, a little smaller. It didn't
<v Speaker 2>look it didn't have the girth. It either it was sick, malnutrition,
<v Speaker 2>or I couldn't tell you. It just didn't didn't have
<v Speaker 2>the girth. It wasn't small, Don't get me wrong. It
<v Speaker 2>wasn't human sized all it's you know, it was big,
<v Speaker 2>but it didn't have the girth. The one I've seen
<v Speaker 2>it was nine foot Paul. That's I never want to
<v Speaker 2>see that again. That closed that was huge. It just
<v Speaker 2>still don't make any sense you know, I always look
<v Speaker 2>up my walls or at a tree and I just
<v Speaker 2>think how big that was something I hope to see
<v Speaker 2>again in my life. But at a further distance that close,
<v Speaker 2>that was too much for me. I mean, that's it
<v Speaker 2>keeps me going out in the woods. But yeah, the
<v Speaker 2>other one looked smaller, definitely smaller. I don't know if
<v Speaker 2>it was a juvenile. It just it was so quick.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't get that the other one was back, so
<v Speaker 2>I got to pretty good dams of it. This one was.
<v Speaker 2>It was going across the road, so it was more
<v Speaker 2>of a side view and which might have been wide
<v Speaker 2>and see the girth, but it didn't. It didn't really
<v Speaker 2>look as large as the one I've seen originally in
<v Speaker 2>ninety seven.
<v Speaker 1>How big do you think the bigfoot was? The one
<v Speaker 1>you encountered in ninety seven?
<v Speaker 2>That one had every bit of nine foot tall, four
<v Speaker 2>foot wide, maybe even at over there, it was huge.
<v Speaker 2>I mean I did a cardboard cut out of it,
<v Speaker 2>and it still didn't still didn't justify it. The one
<v Speaker 2>I got looked like a smaller version of it, so
<v Speaker 2>I would definitely like to make a cardboard cut out
<v Speaker 2>of it. I did a couple of drawings. It had shoulders.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, just the shoulders is what got me. It's
<v Speaker 2>it just was very wide. It just really brought in
<v Speaker 2>the shoulder just and they had kind of sun you know.
<v Speaker 2>And people told me, do you think because you were
<v Speaker 2>looking up at an angle at it, that maybe the
<v Speaker 2>neck looked more in set where it was, you know,
<v Speaker 2>I said, it's a possibility. I don't know. You know,
<v Speaker 2>when you see something like this, you're not getting a
<v Speaker 2>ruler out and tape measure and hey, go get a camera.
<v Speaker 2>You know you're freaked out. You know, it's it's it'll
<v Speaker 2>freak anybody. You're gonna sit there and asking me questions.
<v Speaker 2>It's just a quick glimpse. You realize what you're seeing.
<v Speaker 2>And I'm a little more equipped now with if I
<v Speaker 2>ever ran into one, i'd have more equipment with me,
<v Speaker 2>depending on where I'm at. But yeah, it was every
<v Speaker 2>bit of a night foot tall. It was. It was large.
<v Speaker 1>Did it seem like it wanted to hurt you? Or
<v Speaker 1>did it have bad intentions?
<v Speaker 2>You know that I couldn't tell you because it did
<v Speaker 2>have a deep guttural grunt and started swaying side to side.
<v Speaker 2>The one reason stopped I think because I yelled at
<v Speaker 2>it and threw my bottle up at it, which probably
<v Speaker 2>wasn't wise. And still to this day, I don't know
<v Speaker 2>why I did it. I think I was just freaked
<v Speaker 2>out and I couldn't believe I was seeing but h
<v Speaker 2>and it did sound like it. I heard brush crushing.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if it was coming down towards me
<v Speaker 2>or not, but I think it just wanted me out
<v Speaker 2>of there. I don't know if I interrupted. Maybe there
<v Speaker 2>was a deer before I came through there, it was hunting.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe it just happened to be there and didn't like
<v Speaker 2>the fact that I was there at the same time
<v Speaker 2>it was. I couldn't tell you exactly, but I think
<v Speaker 2>it was showing me a little aggression, like, hey, move on,
<v Speaker 2>you don't belong here.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's like a dominance display, like a nervous behavior.
<v Speaker 1>Or it could have just been trying to move back
<v Speaker 1>and forth to allow you to see it and maybe
<v Speaker 1>spook you out of the area. But I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>They're all plausible theories, but we'll never know why they
<v Speaker 1>sway back and forth, why they knock five times, or
<v Speaker 1>what's going on in their mind. We can only speculate.
<v Speaker 1>But you know one thing, you encountered this creature and
<v Speaker 1>they are real.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, one hundred percent. And I'm not here trying
<v Speaker 2>to prove it to everybody. You know, I'll really my
<v Speaker 2>story if people want to hear it. We have plenty
<v Speaker 2>of friends. And you know, this was back in the day.
<v Speaker 2>It wasn't blown out of proportion it is now. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>everybody's got to there's so many podcasts now, there's a
<v Speaker 2>lot of people out there that believe in you know,
<v Speaker 2>you'd be ridiculed back in the day, so a lot
<v Speaker 2>of people probably didn't come forth with a lot of
<v Speaker 2>stories just for the fact of being ridiculed. But uh yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I'll tell my story. Who wants to hear it.
<v Speaker 2>They can't believe it, they don't have to believe it.
<v Speaker 2>That's fine. I know what I've seen. I know they're real,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm going to continue to try, you know, do
<v Speaker 2>what I do, do research and hopefully enlighten people and
<v Speaker 2>other researchers and beginning researchers which I've met who are
<v Speaker 2>really fascinating. I met Brian at the Van Meter event.
<v Speaker 2>We do that every year, and he's really interested in them.
<v Speaker 2>We'll get online, you know, get on Facebook and Brian
<v Speaker 2>Nelson and he who you'd met, and he told me
<v Speaker 2>he went down with you. He always calls me and uh,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I got it into and that's nice. And
<v Speaker 2>get some new new people, new people out there, get
<v Speaker 2>boots on the ground and do research. You know, that's
<v Speaker 2>whatever we like to do, you know. And I hope
<v Speaker 2>everybody else that wants to have the passion get out
<v Speaker 2>in research and find more out about what these creatures are,
<v Speaker 2>what their habitats are, what they do. You know, no harm,
<v Speaker 2>no kill, none that just just do plain research to
<v Speaker 2>find out, you know, the research, what they really are.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Absolutely, And I think that's why so many people
<v Speaker 1>get into the subject, because they had strange experiences that
<v Speaker 1>they just can't explain and it really triggers something in
<v Speaker 1>their brain where they want to seek answers and find
<v Speaker 1>out the truth.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, absolutely, Yeah, it's it's you know, there's there's
<v Speaker 2>people out there that had some hair raising experience, you know,
<v Speaker 2>why they count on a vehicle or a truck in
<v Speaker 2>the middle of the night when you parked inside the
<v Speaker 2>road or I've had people tell me they've you know,
<v Speaker 2>counted on the house and they come out in their
<v Speaker 2>balcony and hid on the tree and peak it up,
<v Speaker 2>and they'll nickname him, you know, big Red or whatever.
<v Speaker 2>And sometimes I'll leave a deer leg for him. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I've heard all kinds of stories. I've gotten many stories
<v Speaker 2>I've heard over the years. You know, even Danny Press
<v Speaker 2>in the area. When I was in Bigfoot Times article,
<v Speaker 2>he had asked me, you know, how far was this Aptos,
<v Speaker 2>California from your side, and said, as the crow flies.
<v Speaker 2>I told him about, you know, eighteen miles, and he
<v Speaker 2>didn't tell me his incident that he thinks he might
<v Speaker 2>have seen. But until I told him mine, she didn't
<v Speaker 2>want to, you know, mix up or confuse. You want
<v Speaker 2>to hear my story first. But I guess him and
<v Speaker 2>Mike drew from the Felton Bigfi Museum, which sadly not there.
<v Speaker 2>Nomore was out an Aptos, where my cousin had one
<v Speaker 2>hundred and ten acres in that area at one time,
<v Speaker 2>and the day had a whole series of different sounds.
<v Speaker 2>Now they went to investigate a structure which we found
<v Speaker 2>many in different places around here, and it just tried
<v Speaker 2>to be an apples. It turned out to be a powle,
<v Speaker 2>you know brush. Someone said, I think there's a big
<v Speaker 2>foot structure. But they heard some weird sounds metallic, he
<v Speaker 2>told me. And it was just a whole calliphany of
<v Speaker 2>sounds and he said it was just amazing, but it
<v Speaker 2>was no animals. Something strange, something seen, something strange, and
<v Speaker 2>they couldn't really put a thumb to so uh. And
<v Speaker 2>I know, like Drew, when I've talked to him over
<v Speaker 2>the years, he had shown me a couple of footprints
<v Speaker 2>from that area, Santa Cuz Mountains. He even showed me
<v Speaker 2>an April video one day, the jawbone, a picture of
<v Speaker 2>a jawbone and a video of a baby squatch. You
<v Speaker 2>could see it as it was kind of running under
<v Speaker 2>the trees and it just looked it kind of looked
<v Speaker 2>like Chaka from back in the seventies of none the
<v Speaker 2>loss to me. But it was running and it's faint,
<v Speaker 2>you could see it. And they claimed that when they
<v Speaker 2>came up upon the street, he was eating apple. And
<v Speaker 2>then they went low because hard to see on the
<v Speaker 2>apple to that group around there, and you get low
<v Speaker 2>and you see kind of underneath it, you know, from
<v Speaker 2>from a long ways, you know, hundreds of feet when
<v Speaker 2>you lean down, and this thing was sitting there eating
<v Speaker 2>the ground apples, and then it took off running. But
<v Speaker 2>I did get up. He showed me a print that
<v Speaker 2>was kind of odd, and it wasn't real big, wasn't
<v Speaker 2>real large, maybe i'd say nine to ten inches, but
<v Speaker 2>it was an interesting print. And I'm sure, you know,
<v Speaker 2>I've seen other prints that they've gotten from the area.
<v Speaker 2>But there's so many reports from that, you know, well
<v Speaker 2>California period, but Sancers Mountains. Even two hikers that two girls,
<v Speaker 2>two lady hikers, was up there hiking and they happened
<v Speaker 2>to Henry Colle State Park up there, and they happened
<v Speaker 2>to be sitting on a stump and they took a
<v Speaker 2>break and was eating apple. And they've seen one of
<v Speaker 2>these juke and they as soon it was juvenile, was small,
<v Speaker 2>you know, five and a half six foot tall, and
<v Speaker 2>it was peaking around the bush and all of a
<v Speaker 2>sudden they were eating apple on it. It acts like
<v Speaker 2>it was eating apple kind of mocking them, you know,
<v Speaker 2>just kind of looking at him and did that a
<v Speaker 2>little bit, and then it just disappeared in forrest. Very curious,
<v Speaker 2>you know, curious creatures, but like again, there's so many
<v Speaker 2>reports in that area that, you know, I wish I
<v Speaker 2>can get back out to that area, but I don't.
<v Speaker 2>I don't have them been out to California since eighteen.
<v Speaker 2>I should get out there a lot more. A lot
<v Speaker 2>of my relatives have passed. There's only a few of
<v Speaker 2>my friends there. You know. It's just different. I want
<v Speaker 2>to go back out there, and they should. But maybe
<v Speaker 2>this year. Next year, I'll get back out and do
<v Speaker 2>little investigation in that area. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Absolutely. Have you ever experienced anything strange out in the
<v Speaker 1>woods as far as like supernatural activity tighten with the
<v Speaker 1>cryptid creatures?
<v Speaker 2>You know, I don't know if it's tight end, but
<v Speaker 2>we have seen orbs. I've seen them in California. On
<v Speaker 2>one occasion down in the Spring Valley. We had one
<v Speaker 2>night sitting there and it was weird because it was overcast,
<v Speaker 2>so the cloud we kind of low, and I don't
<v Speaker 2>know you call these orbs. They were in the clouds,
<v Speaker 2>but it was below the cloud line and there was
<v Speaker 2>three lights and they were kind of visibly swirling kind
<v Speaker 2>of around, and they would go left, right, back and forth.
<v Speaker 2>They were kind of a pattern and we were trying
<v Speaker 2>to figure out it kind of like a spotlight you'd
<v Speaker 2>see from like a store having a sale. But it
<v Speaker 2>wasn't no beam coming up. It was just that dot
<v Speaker 2>in the clouds. So we got in my little Scion
<v Speaker 2>I have, and we're going to drive down to the

<v Speaker 2>tree line because you only can't see the sky except
<v Speaker 2>for that little you know, tree line opening as you
<v Speaker 2>go down to the creek there. So what that was,

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that is strange. And what's your favorite piece of
<v Speaker 1>equipment to research Bigfoot with?
<v Speaker 2>Uh? You know, I like audio, but the flair is
<v Speaker 2>the one I lean to. I use a Scionics night vision,
<v Speaker 2>which I really like. It's it's old school. You can
<v Speaker 2>see them a lot on like Skinwalker Ranch. I like
<v Speaker 2>look up the sky sometimes and that one really is clear.
<v Speaker 2>It's only ten eighty. But they're really nice scopes. I
<v Speaker 2>used a nice flier scope to with AI technology that
<v Speaker 2>one's pretty cool. And I know you guys have watched
<v Speaker 2>the little research behind you. I know you have a drone.
<v Speaker 2>I fly a DG I myself. I like drones the
<v Speaker 2>scope out an area you know that I'm going to research.
<v Speaker 2>I don't have a fleer drones, so no night vision.
<v Speaker 2>I do have the g G I three. They's somewhat
<v Speaker 2>of night vision. I mean you can adjust the you know,
<v Speaker 2>camera on it or video so you can get it.
<v Speaker 2>Ain't flear, but it brightens up the landscape. But I
<v Speaker 2>do like to use drones for surveillance, just to look
<v Speaker 2>in the area before I get into an area if
<v Speaker 2>I'm allowed to fly over there. But the flair would
<v Speaker 2>be my flair in my psionics is one of my
<v Speaker 2>favorite things to use on them. Mount in the woods. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Absolutely, And it's a good piece of equipment to have,
<v Speaker 1>and it kind of gives you, i don't know, like
<v Speaker 1>a feeling of safety because you can see at nighttime.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, because that's something you know. When I went down
<v Speaker 2>into the creek that one night to retrieve that camera.
<v Speaker 2>Excuse me, I'm having a real hard time my voice.
<v Speaker 2>When I went to retrieve the camera. When I've done,
<v Speaker 2>I had something to throw me out. I didn't have
<v Speaker 2>nothing on my phone, so I wish I would have
<v Speaker 2>a flare. So sometimes, you know, we come equipped, but
<v Speaker 2>yet we don't think about bringing stuff. At times, I
<v Speaker 2>think we've all made that mistake. You know, I don't
<v Speaker 2>care how long you've been in this. Sometimes you just say, God,
<v Speaker 2>it brought that, or we showed to grab this and
<v Speaker 2>it happens.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, absolutely. Like you said earlier in the podcast,
<v Speaker 1>when you heard that vocalization, you didn't have an audio
<v Speaker 1>recorder on you and it was one of the best
<v Speaker 1>calls you've ever heard in your life.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. It was the early nineties, you know, so you know,
<v Speaker 2>infantry of cell phones and what have you. I I
<v Speaker 2>remember back in the eighties, mid eighties, my boss and
<v Speaker 2>I worked for a glass shop. You had one of
<v Speaker 2>the car phones that looked like something out of Vietnam
<v Speaker 2>where you got to radio at a bomb rade or something.
<v Speaker 2>You know. You know, we've came a long way so
<v Speaker 2>technology back in the nineties, I really didn't have anything,
<v Speaker 2>you know, anything like that. And the recorders we had
<v Speaker 2>we were you know, tape recorders with the microphone, so
<v Speaker 2>it's a little harder to get audio nowadays, it's at
<v Speaker 2>our disposal. We got everything on our phones, even my
<v Speaker 2>uh glexy here S twenty five has adaptive sound, so
<v Speaker 2>if you're quiet, it'll zoom in on sound distance as
<v Speaker 2>a way, zoom in as much as it can to
<v Speaker 2>amplify the sound. So it's kind of nice.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that is really cool. I have a twenty one
<v Speaker 1>Ultra I'm gonna have to upgrade sometime soon.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. These how I caught that audio of the howl
<v Speaker 2>was I go quiet because I've heard it starting, And
<v Speaker 2>if everybody's quiet, the phone on this S twenty five
<v Speaker 2>will adapt as far as it can to the distance
<v Speaker 2>of that sound, which is pretty nice. I mean, if
<v Speaker 2>you're out two miles, no, it ain't gonna work, but
<v Speaker 2>you know, four or five hundred feet it will bring
<v Speaker 2>it in pretty clear, which is amazing.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that is really neat. Off to check it out.
<v Speaker 1>And the AI features on the samsungs are just amazing.
<v Speaker 1>The zoom capabilities on the camera is really neat as well.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and like I said, I love my son. I
<v Speaker 2>think it's a little older, uh piece of equipment. But men,
<v Speaker 2>if you look up in the sky and you want
<v Speaker 2>to just look up, you won't believe what you see
<v Speaker 2>up there. I mean I see stuff that I would
<v Speaker 2>never see the naked eye, and it's amazing what uh
<v Speaker 2>you know, it may not be sasquat related, so we
<v Speaker 2>don't see batsquatch, but it is an amazing piece of
<v Speaker 2>equipment and it works really good. I've used out in
<v Speaker 2>the field uh squatching and uh some of the people
<v Speaker 2>I get better and some of their equipment they got,
<v Speaker 2>you know, so I kind of go back and forth.
<v Speaker 2>What I like to do eventually is get a better
<v Speaker 2>uh parabolic ear. I know you've got a nice one.
<v Speaker 2>I've seen it. Uh and uh, you know, I just
<v Speaker 2>use the cheap os and they work decent. I mean
<v Speaker 2>you can amplify the sound pretty well. You're not out much.
<v Speaker 2>It's kind of like I fly the AT. I really
<v Speaker 2>like the Atom too. It's got AI technology and they're
<v Speaker 2>they're a little cheaper drone, but they work really well
<v Speaker 2>and you're not out much. You know. You can get
<v Speaker 2>the basic version for with three batteries for like two
<v Speaker 2>hundred dollars refurbished and they work really well with their
<v Speaker 2>four K gimbals. A new one I just purchased with
<v Speaker 2>the Atom too. It's got the a K feature, but
<v Speaker 2>it's also got AI So if you're going into a
<v Speaker 2>bush or a tree line and come out, it'll pick
<v Speaker 2>back up on you when you're doing the follow the
<v Speaker 2>follow me mode, which is kind of cool.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that is really cool and off to look into that.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, that just sounds like a really nice piece
<v Speaker 1>of gear.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's you can get into a lot of money
<v Speaker 2>and where I say, a lot of coin, you know,
<v Speaker 2>researching and adding equipment. But it's you know, it doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 2>You don't have to spend millions of dollars. Uh, there's
<v Speaker 2>there's ways to get out there and experience just as
<v Speaker 2>much as everybody else does, you know, without breaking the bank.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, especially if you're in the infantry of doing
<v Speaker 2>big for research. And if anybody's ever you know, needs
<v Speaker 2>any advice or wants to you know, little technology advice
<v Speaker 2>on some of the equipment, they can always reach out
<v Speaker 2>to me. But yeah, we we love to be out
<v Speaker 2>in the woods. I know you're in Missouri. Hopefully we
<v Speaker 2>can chit chat, you know, and get together sometime. And
<v Speaker 2>O'Brien had talked to me, he had talked to you
<v Speaker 2>about me, and I told me one of these times
<v Speaker 2>when we'll have to get down there and I'll get
<v Speaker 2>together and go do some research. I'm planning to go
<v Speaker 2>in his area this year. We do the van Meter
<v Speaker 2>event in September. Every year we do the Bigfoot Days

<v Speaker 2>that vicinity. It is a driftless area. We got access
<v Speaker 2>also to Lacrosse almost equal you know land almost five
<v Speaker 2>hundred acres and that's very mountainous overlooking the Mississippi. And
<v Speaker 2>we got trail cams up there too. Not chief to run.
<v Speaker 2>You get into a lot of equipment and throw cams everywhere.
<v Speaker 2>Ten twenty bucks apiece. It can run into almost like
<v Speaker 2>I phone bill. You know, it's not cheap. But if
<v Speaker 2>you ever want to look around and come down this
<v Speaker 2>area and you know, make a weekend of it, just
<v Speaker 2>let us know and we can show you around a
<v Speaker 2>little bit.

<v Speaker 2>and pay off this one. I only worked part time.
<v Speaker 2>And it's kind of nice and you get you know,
<v Speaker 2>in that hustle and bustle, you can relax and take
<v Speaker 2>it easy. If everyone go visit, I can, but I
<v Speaker 2>still drive like California. I just don't care to be
<v Speaker 2>out there anymore, driving on traffic. Visiting a couple of weeks,
<v Speaker 2>I'm good, and then back to the peaceful life, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, absolutely, And hopefully at the new conflict and the
<v Speaker 1>Middle East doesn't raise up the gas prices too much.
