Now here's Matt Jones. 00:01:05 Speaker 3: Welcome back number two, Tayt Sports Radio. 00:01:08 Speaker 4: If I'm nine, two eighth twenty two eighty seven, So apparently the player's air tournament chin and the maximum you can win by his twenty? 00:01:15 Speaker 5: Okay? 00:01:15 Speaker 2: Yeah, so uh the maximum you can win by his twenty? 00:01:19 Speaker 6: So what do they do? 00:01:20 Speaker 3: Well? So for that, like who gets to go to the finals. 00:01:23 Speaker 4: So Tennessee won by twenty five, Michigan won by forty, but it. 00:01:27 Speaker 3: Only counts as twenty. So Michigan and Tennessee are now tied with twenty point wins. 00:01:33 Speaker 1: Yeah, Zach, they both were. 00:01:35 Speaker 3: To win, and that's a good sign. 00:01:37 Speaker 4: But like say Gonzaga that won by ten instead of being thirty points behind Michigan, there are only ten points behind. 00:01:45 Speaker 3: Michigan got sense? 00:01:47 Speaker 1: Yeah, Kentaga one by ten? Does that mean they covered? 00:01:51 Speaker 3: They didn't? They did? You got one right? 00:01:53 Speaker 7: Are you. 00:01:55 Speaker 3: Got one right? 00:01:56 Speaker 6: Took him an hour to get his victory lap. 00:01:59 Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a little bit. 00:02:00 Speaker 4: You were a little behind on your victory laugh there, but you did get it, so congratulations. 00:02:05 Speaker 1: I just think they're, like, like I said, the best team in the country, and I do not want to play them. 00:02:09 Speaker 4: Kansas won by ten as well, so they're right there. Uh yeah, I would be frustrated, Drew if I was in this tournament and we won both games but we didn't win by enough that would that would I'd be like, that's a weird tournament. 00:02:20 Speaker 3: I don't like that. 00:02:21 Speaker 7: I actually hate this format because I watched Iowa State Saint John's and it was a great game. I mean, they're back and forth as close most of the game. I always state wins by one, but they're gonna get punished for a good win that came down to the wire because they didn't win by ten. I wish it should be a bracket format and Tennessee got to play Rutgers. 00:02:38 Speaker 4: You know, Rutgers stinks, so it is a little unfair, but I mean, ultimately they're just doing this to play good teams anyway. So all right, I have to say something. We've yet to find Ryan. This this this super fan. 00:02:53 Speaker 1: Nobody contacted you know, one is cond We haven't. 00:02:56 Speaker 4: We had over a thousand unique phone number or send a text yesterday, which is an amazing amount of people to text the text machine just and actually have. 00:03:06 Speaker 3: Substance, and not one person knows this guy. So who is he? 00:03:12 Speaker 4: I have pictures of people who've taken pictures with him at games, at like other UK games, but Drew, no one knows who he is at least hasn't told me yet. 00:03:24 Speaker 7: I'm surprised because I like you. And on Bond the Bond That Bridge on Facebook, there's multiple pictures of people with him, but it's like he's just someone that in passing see games, get a quick photo, but no one actually knows him. 00:03:34 Speaker 3: Yeah. By the way, for newer listeners, there's a Facebook page Bond That Bit That. 00:03:41 Speaker 4: It's a different bridge, Behond That Bridge. 00:03:51 Speaker 3: Uh okay, I'm thrown off. 00:03:52 Speaker 4: The Facebook page is called Bond That Bridge and it's like for fans of ks R and people. It's a really great, great group of fans there. It's kind of a good hardcore KSR fan but it's got about sixteen to seventy thousand people on it. 00:04:07 Speaker 3: You should go join it. But there is a post there about people who have met him, but. 00:04:13 Speaker 4: No one, no one has sent me a name or a place he's from. 00:04:17 Speaker 3: Shannon. 00:04:17 Speaker 4: That that really surprises me. I mean, over the years, I've been able to get Senator's phone numbers. 00:04:24 Speaker 3: How do we not know who this guy is? 00:04:26 Speaker 2: Is this the one guy that's gonna be so elusive. We never find him, never see him. I mean, he's gonna be in another game. 00:04:31 Speaker 3: But he's at he's it seems like he's at every game. 00:04:34 Speaker 6: Okay, so then, but nobody knows who he is. 00:04:36 Speaker 2: Well, then one of us who's there at the game seems to wait a year tap him on his. 00:04:41 Speaker 6: Spike shoulder pads and say, hey, who are you? 00:04:44 Speaker 3: But I don't want to wait a year. 00:04:45 Speaker 6: I'd like I was he might be at the level game. 00:04:48 Speaker 3: I mean, it seems like he probably will. 00:04:50 Speaker 6: He went to Nashville. 00:04:51 Speaker 4: But do you think he's like just a regular guy that doesn't want people to know his his thing. 00:04:58 Speaker 6: Know that he puts on face pain as a it's. 00:05:00 Speaker 4: Clearly still him. Someone recognizes him Ryan, they have to. 00:05:05 Speaker 1: And you know, I kind of threw this out there, but I wonder if it is a player's dad that really did not associated with the fat just comes on game day, doesn't associate with us. 00:05:16 Speaker 2: And what's more embarrassing Your dad dresses like that guy or Diego Pavia's mom. Oh Diego, he was more embarrassing than that guy with a blue wig and. 00:05:28 Speaker 3: Just a hardcore fan. I think he's awesome. 00:05:31 Speaker 6: I think Pavia's mom's awesome. 00:05:36 Speaker 4: I've had multiple requests for Ryan to stop the bound Mommy, what do we do? 00:05:44 Speaker 8: Drew? 00:05:45 Speaker 4: I mean, like you and I have said this to him a hundred times. Is it just like ingrained in his souls? There's just not gonna be anything we can do. 00:05:53 Speaker 7: I don't know if you can see him on the camera right now, but the grin he has on his face tells me this is going nowhere. Like I think he has one dialed up that he wants to do again at this moment. And I feel partially guilty being the the chaperone these last. 00:06:03 Speaker 4: Two days doing as much in front of me because I give him the death stare. But when it's you and Mario, he doesn't feel he doesn't feel inhibited. 00:06:16 Speaker 3: I gotta do, which. 00:06:19 Speaker 4: Gets me we were okay. And he has the blue wedding ring right, which gets me to a wedding ring question. And this is for married people or people who have been married. So, Shannon, you're out, Drew and ryme. So I guess our vice president Jade Vance, what his wife's name is. 00:06:35 Speaker 3: What's what's her name? Is it? 00:06:38 Speaker 1: Missus Vance? 00:06:39 Speaker 3: Yeah? I don't know. 00:06:40 Speaker 4: I don't know her first name, but she was seen in public, she was giving a speech or something. She didn't have her wedding ring on, okay, and a lot of people are like, Oh, what's going on? 00:06:49 Speaker 3: She doesn't have her wedding ring on. 00:06:51 Speaker 4: They released the statement yesterday that said, uh, something to the effect of, oftentimes she gets busy and she's washing dishes or something, and maybe she doesn't put the wedding ring on, but she and the vice president still love each other and are together. So I have a question about wedding rings. I have always I'm not having never been married, I don't know, but I've always kind of thought, isn't the thing like you never take it off like ever? 00:07:19 Speaker 3: Or when are you allowed to take it off? 00:07:22 Speaker 1: Like? 00:07:22 Speaker 3: When is it okay to take it off? 00:07:25 Speaker 4: I mean, she gave a public speech, so that's a little strange that she didn't. But but her the premise was she had taken it off for something else and just forgot to put it back on. Is that something that happens? Like when in wedding ring world? Are you allowed to. 00:07:38 Speaker 3: Take it off? You two that are married? What's the rule? 00:07:43 Speaker 1: Jerusally one girly married. 00:07:44 Speaker 4: I'll let him take the Okay, well, I mean Ryan, you were married, but you but you so you've been through this with you multiple times, so like you have an experience. 00:07:52 Speaker 3: What's the rule? 00:07:54 Speaker 1: I always felt like you never took it off ever, no matter what, no matter what, do you shower? 00:08:00 Speaker 3: I did? 00:08:01 Speaker 1: I showered. 00:08:01 Speaker 8: I did. 00:08:02 Speaker 1: The only the only time I ever took it off in both my marriages is when I was playing softball. That would take it off during the softball and that was it. 00:08:11 Speaker 3: So like if you went in the ocean, you'd wear it. 00:08:14 Speaker 1: Oh yeah, because usually most of us gain a little weight as we get older, and that ring does not even budget. It ain't it ain't coming off anytime soon. 00:08:22 Speaker 3: So you're doing you only why softball? 00:08:26 Speaker 7: It bothered me and like it. 00:08:28 Speaker 3: Oh it hurt his swing shon off? Yeah, when he's hitting foul balls off me, he would take it off. Okay. 00:08:34 Speaker 6: The college all thought he was single though at the softball game. 00:08:38 Speaker 3: So so you were like, never take it? What about you? 00:08:41 Speaker 7: This feels like a setup because I'm currently not wearing mine, So thank you for that. 00:08:45 Speaker 3: Oh I didn't know that. Sorry. 00:08:48 Speaker 7: I take mine off a lot, though, like literally when I left the house this morning, I was like, well left that at home? 00:08:53 Speaker 3: Oh well, so do you take it off like every night? 00:08:57 Speaker 7: Not every night, but frequently at night to sleep? 00:09:00 Speaker 3: Is it? 00:09:01 Speaker 7: Sometimes when he's working, I'll put it on the desk next to my Does. 00:09:05 Speaker 3: It constrict you? 00:09:05 Speaker 1: Like? 00:09:05 Speaker 3: Why do you take it off? 00:09:07 Speaker 7: Mine's actually a little too big, so I don't swim in mine. It would probably fall off. I've actually been standing up with my arms by my side with Abby next to me, and my ring has fallen off and she heard it bounce, like, so mine's a little little too big. I take it off a lot now. I usually I try to wear it when I'm out, but like, but you might, by the way, I love you, be sorry about this, but right now I'm currently not wearing it. But my thought was, I'm gonna go see Ryan in the studio. 00:09:31 Speaker 3: Iry. 00:09:33 Speaker 7: No, But it's a good question, because I do take mine off a lot. 00:09:35 Speaker 1: They've got those rubber ones now where you can wear them and they're kind of small. 00:09:39 Speaker 3: Yeah, they're like a rubber who gets a rubber wedding ring? 00:09:43 Speaker 1: Yeah, then that way you're swimming or. 00:09:48 Speaker 3: Ring. I don't know. 00:09:50 Speaker 1: I have a silicone ring silicon, so you can, like you don't want to wear your wedding ring, if you're swimming Orfen or whatever, you can wear that rubber one. 00:10:00 Speaker 7: For the reason I was mentioned that mine falls off so much like vacation, I'll wear a cheap one because I know. 00:10:04 Speaker 4: But is the point of wearing a cheap one to be like, I'm taking and I don't want to use my good Like, what's the point of that? 00:10:12 Speaker 7: Well, for me, it's because mine will literally fall off and I'll lose it. And I don't go on vacation and lose an expensive ring. 00:10:18 Speaker 3: But I have also that you're together with your wife. 00:10:21 Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you wear it to show a sign I'm committed to my wife, and I'm going to tell everybody who looks at me, I am taking. 00:10:27 Speaker 7: Okay, now, especially for Ryan, Like imagine Ryan walking down the street with that wedding ring, He's gonna get stopped every couple of times. 00:10:32 Speaker 4: I mean, women are going to be coming all over the all over the place. So let's do women just a second. Are the rules different for them because their ring might be very expensive? 00:10:44 Speaker 3: Do they take it off? 00:10:46 Speaker 1: I know it used to be it's practice for some women to do it when they are doing the dishes, because the old stories where to go down there to slip off and go down the drain and you got to call the plumber to get something like. 00:10:55 Speaker 6: We don't have dish washers in the year of twenty twenty five. 00:10:57 Speaker 3: Kind I have to say, I mean. 00:10:59 Speaker 4: I don't know if i express's wife is hand washing the dishes with the vice. 00:11:04 Speaker 7: But even like just washing your hands, a lot of people take it off over sinc If you got a ring with some value, you're gonna be very careful over someone. 00:11:10 Speaker 3: Would you say, women wear it more or less? 00:11:15 Speaker 7: I would guess more. Also, theirs is always typically a little more to show off. Yeah, like they got they actually have a nice piece of jewelry. 00:11:24 Speaker 3: I mean, not that. 00:11:26 Speaker 4: Much more if you And this is hard to ask Shannon with Drew having not worn his ring today, So let's leave. 00:11:33 Speaker 3: Drew out of all day. 00:11:34 Speaker 7: Thanks for calling me out this first day and months that I've done this. 00:11:37 Speaker 3: Let's leave Drew out of the of the conversation. 00:11:41 Speaker 4: Ryan, is it like considered a symbol of something bad if you do not wear your ring, Like if you were to go out on a Friday night and not wear your ring. Do wives or husbands generally get upset about that? 00:11:54 Speaker 1: Yes, definitely. Yeah. 00:11:56 Speaker 3: Is that what something people would be mad about? 00:11:58 Speaker 1: Yes, no doubt. If if if I go out with the fellas and I all, whoops my wedding ring. I left it at home, Yeah, that's not a good sign, as that's my My wife is not gonna be happy about that. 00:12:11 Speaker 4: Well, it's interesting because I had never really considered it till till this whole thing. I don't like wearing rings or jewelry, Shannon, So it's yet another reason to I don't know if I can get married. I don't like wedding cake. Okay, so that's part of it. I don't like dressing up, that's part of it. 00:12:31 Speaker 6: Just when we get married in a hoodie. I mean you could do that at your wedding. 00:12:33 Speaker 4: No, I mean I would I do it, and then, but the idea of having a ring on all the time. I don't like rings, and I don't really like accessories. 00:12:42 Speaker 6: Sounds like you don't like marriage. 00:12:44 Speaker 4: Well, I mean there's a reason why a lot at home mine comes off, especially if I'm at my desk typing, it will just sit there right next to my mouse all right, Well. 00:12:54 Speaker 3: Who's up next. 00:12:55 Speaker 6: Let's go to Wilson. 00:12:56 Speaker 3: Wilson, go ahead. 00:12:57 Speaker 9: Wilson followed from a conversation yesterday. And the group that I think has went unscathed and without criticism through this whole conversation we've had the last few years, and that's the administration at the University of Kentucky. They're the board in this scenario that's responsible for managing Mitch Barnhart, the ad the CEO, and outside looking in, I can't tell that they've done anything. You've got, Mitch. It's felled to adopt or adapt to any of these emerging business trends. The product on the field is bad. Everything around the product on the field is bad. Game day atmosphere that Drew was talking about earlier, and they seem to be negligent in their duty in managing him. 00:13:37 Speaker 3: Well, this is. 00:13:39 Speaker 4: Why, this is why I think it's so important that when a school hires a board of trustees that they don't just hire like random people. 00:13:50 Speaker 3: Right now, this is something that they're the In theory they did. 00:13:53 Speaker 4: With this champions Blue thing is let's get business people to run our athletic department. 00:13:58 Speaker 3: I like that. 00:13:59 Speaker 4: In theory, we'll see how it works in practice. But you know so, but when the board of trustees, they tend to be political appointees of the governor, which often means just that you were a political you know, donor or whatever the governor. And and I don't think that's a good system. I don't care who the governor is. I just don't think that's a good system. 00:14:19 Speaker 3: So I'm kind of. 00:14:20 Speaker 4: Agree with you. There needs to be more oversight because somebody should have looked at this contract, especially the sixty day provision, and gone, why are we doing this? 00:14:29 Speaker 9: Yeah, and Matt, look, to my opinion, it's more important to get the AD part fixed now because two years from now we can have a new AD that starts fishing this stuff around the football program, okay, whether it be game day atmosphere and ail or whatever, and then we're even more attractive to a prospective coach or we can just be status quo for the next two years. 00:14:51 Speaker 4: I think that's a fast that's a completely that's a completely fair point. And there are parts of it, and I appreciate the call. There are parts of it that are easily fixed. The relation to fans in the game day atmosphere, that is fixable, and the fact that they haven't done it for years when it's been a problem for years has showcased that they don't get it. They don't understand, they don't and I believe that the reason they don't is because that Athletic Department has no connection to the fan base. They do not understand them. Mitch doesn't deal with them, and they are in an old era. You know, a year ago, I've told this story they escorted Mario out of a media thing because he wasn't like real media or something, because he was a social media person. And the fact that in two thousand, at the time twenty four they didn't think social media people were real media people showcases. They have no idea what the world is like right now. They I yelled and got them back in, but the fact that even happened it is an example of how far behind they are on even knowing what motivates people anymore. I mean, I remember when they escorted Mario out, they were like, you know, this is for real media. I'm like, Mario has only worked with us for two months. He already has more followers than almost all the other media and you're saying he like the fact that you don't understand that that person matters is part of the problem, and that's what frustrates me. 00:16:28 Speaker 7: It's a joke around the media. I always say, man, I wish I worked for a local newspaper. My radio show on my website I do aren't big enough. I need the local radio. 00:16:37 Speaker 3: Still. 00:16:39 Speaker 4: It is hilarious to me though, when people are like, you're taking up for your friends. We get treated worse than media that has one fiftieth the listeners and views we do. It's ridiculous, but it's because they have no idea what moves a fan base. They still are operating at a time when you work at a newspaper. 00:16:59 Speaker 3: I'm not trying to be rude because I. 00:17:00 Speaker 4: Like these people at the newspaper, but the amount of people that read the Herald Leader is not as it's like one twentieth as much as who read one Shannon the Dude tweet. And it's crazy the way that they don't understand that. It is crazy that we went to a Buffalo Bill's game and they invited us on the field and let us do whatever we wanted, and. 00:17:23 Speaker 3: I can't do it in a Kentucky game. 00:17:27 Speaker 4: And then you wonder why I don't come out and promote whatever it is you want because you all don't know how to treat it and you don't understand what the fans want. So now that's my frank Franklin bill. We'll take a break and be right, quiet, be right. A lot of people, not surprisingly, they went to weigh in on the wedding rings. One person goes, I love Drew and Ryan. I'm not sure they're the greatest wedding ring etiquette panel. 00:17:57 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the two wife. 00:17:59 Speaker 7: Just texting me and support she said it happens. 00:18:01 Speaker 1: Yeah, and I've been married twice. I'm an expert. Uh. 00:18:06 Speaker 3: One person rides Matt. 00:18:07 Speaker 4: Some people who work in factories don't wear their rings because gold can attract electricity. 00:18:15 Speaker 1: Yeah, if you work in heavy machinery, I can completely understand you taking it off before you go into work. 00:18:19 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:18:19 Speaker 4: Some person says, I worked around machines and I've seen several fingers lost because of wedding bands. 00:18:25 Speaker 1: Yeah. I can get that. But you're going out and fellows for drinks after work, though, you better put that thing back on. 00:18:31 Speaker 3: Well, guy, you're telling I've been married forty six years. I have eleven wedding bands. 00:18:36 Speaker 4: Ranging ranging from a twenty dollars silicon band to a forty five hundred dollars diamond band. 00:18:43 Speaker 3: Shannon, he like treats it as fash. 00:18:45 Speaker 6: I mean, it feels like one ring would be plenty, one ring to rule them all. Yeah, I don't know why you need eleven. 00:18:51 Speaker 4: I thank you everyone that's writing. I get that maybe I misspoke on saying what happens when Ryan walks down the street. 00:19:00 Speaker 1: We'll just let that go. 00:19:02 Speaker 4: Yeah, that wasn't my best, just entire segment for verbal slippage, but uh, that's the way, that's the way it happens. One person writes Matt, I remember you telling the story about Mario. You were very upset, and then you didn't bring it up again. I'm glad you just did. I was very upset. I'm still very upset about it, but you know, we got it worked out the next day and I moved on. But it's not even about Mario. I mean, it's a little bit about Mario because he had just started and they embarrassed him in front of an arena full of people, which also made me mad. But it's just the principle of the thing about not understanding what moves your people. 00:19:40 Speaker 3: You know you if if you ran an institution. Athletics is a business. 00:19:47 Speaker 4: It's also PR and they are terrible at PR, especially in football, Yes, especially in football. In basketball they've gotten much better. The new the Pope people have read recognize it and have made that a priority. And it is better now. I still don't think it where it needs to be, but it's much better. But in football, they are playing in a different era there. I mean literally, they're they've barely gotten to the blog era. Forget about the social media era, and you know that, and then you wonder why things are not the way you want. They had the view over there, well, if we win, none of this is gonna matter. Well they may go to a bowl, Shannon, and it still matters. They still haven't necessarily. 00:20:37 Speaker 6: Won the fan zo not exactly, not exactly. 00:20:39 Speaker 3: Who's next, Let's go to Jacob, Jacob, go ahead, Jacob, Hey, Matt. 00:20:48 Speaker 10: Comment and then a question. I think that I think that we're definitely gonna see another year of Mark Stoops. So I'm kind of embracing that. And I think that two things, you know, need to happen, and you've hit them both, but two things need to happen moving forward, one of which is they need a complete overhaul of fan relations and the end game experience. They need to hire somebody like they do. 00:21:19 Speaker 4: They need to hire somebody. And I've been told by the way I have been told. I was told this a few weeks ago. Jaymi has a guy from like San Diego who was a big part of making the podres in game experience. 00:21:31 Speaker 3: I'm told that's really good. I haven't been that. 00:21:33 Speaker 4: They are that they have a person to try to do that next year. I hope that's true. I haven't heard any more about it, but that would be a positive. 00:21:43 Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, you know. And also the whole you know, just fan relations tail getting all that stuff that we've talked about before. You know, they just need they need somebody that's gonna they're going to improve that. And then also I think that they need to to really look at this staff or round Mark if he's going to stay, and I'm finding with him saying, then they really need to look at the staff and really take a you know, a deep inventory of of who's valuable. I think that really to me. The only one that is like definitely keep is is Brad White and the rest of them. I think we need to have a conversation and figure out if the right fit for for us moving forward. 00:22:25 Speaker 4: I think these are all good points, and I appreciate the call. And this is hard, specifically for Ryan Drew me. We've been dealing with these people both in the media department and in the football department and in the athletics department for twenty years. But part of the problem, Drew is that we've been dealing with the same people for twenty years. 00:22:45 Speaker 3: And there's no new blood, right. 00:22:48 Speaker 7: I always joke that if I got in a time machine and went about to that went back to two thousand and five and went to a game, everything would be right now, the same thing the same year. It's just the same things. 00:23:00 Speaker 4: Like picking players Eddie gran I like, but I mean, what training does Eddie Grant have in being a football GM But he just has the job right. I don't know how he got it. Like everyone around, Mark is the same. It's just you have you. You cannot be stale and succeed. There came a point where I, like a year ago, a year and a half ago, was like, okay, Ksr's got to embrace the new area. 00:23:31 Speaker 3: I didn't know Mario, I hired him. 00:23:34 Speaker 4: They need like fifteen people in jobs like that at all levels. 00:23:38 Speaker 3: We'll be right back. TJ. 00:23:40 Speaker 7: Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay. 00:23:44 Speaker 3: Now. 00:23:44 Speaker 2: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:47 Speaker 6: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:49 Speaker 3: I love this song, Shannon. 00:23:50 Speaker 6: I thought you might. 00:23:51 Speaker 3: That's why I'm playing George Jones. 00:23:54 Speaker 4: And they sing this after they were divorced. No song about the way rings. I think they recorded it after they were divorced, because I guess they got divorced and then they still kind of, you know, they'd have reunion hookups and stuff. These days, I think, well, I mean, I think everybody's been through that at some point in their life. You know, sometimes the flame still sparks. Shannon, Yeah, And I think that's but they sang this then, can you think you could like? It's funny bands that perform with their like Fleetwood Mac. 00:24:28 Speaker 3: Yeah. Right, the people who I. 00:24:32 Speaker 1: You know, do no doubt. 00:24:35 Speaker 4: Can't ask your question, Shannon. I didn't really understand this when the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame happened. I was reading about the white stripes, so I didn't really like I wasn't following that kind of music when the White Stripes were really popular. 00:24:47 Speaker 6: Yeah, and I. 00:24:48 Speaker 3: Always had the understanding that they were brother and sister. 00:24:51 Speaker 2: No, they told everybody that so that people would stop asking if. 00:24:54 Speaker 3: But they were actually a couple. 00:24:56 Speaker 6: Yes, and then they got divorced and still played. 00:24:59 Speaker 4: Okay, so that's wh what I'm saying. So when did people find out they weren't brother and sister. 00:25:04 Speaker 2: They kept that secret up until like just maybe five years ago, six years ago something like that. 00:25:09 Speaker 3: Did people suspect they were married? Or did we all? 00:25:12 Speaker 4: Because I always just I mean again, I didn't follow them, but I always just assumed they were brother and sister. 00:25:17 Speaker 2: Well there was always you know, are they brother and sister or are they married? 00:25:21 Speaker 3: And eventually that why didn't people think they were married? 00:25:23 Speaker 4: Like I would never assume two people who said they were brother and sister were married. What made people suspect they were married? 00:25:30 Speaker 2: Well, they didn't know at first. So after they said their brother and sister, that's why they said that. Then after that they kind of just let it go, right, They just assumed, Okay, they say they're brother and sister, their brother and sister. But turns out they were actually married? 00:25:42 Speaker 3: Is that not really strange? 00:25:45 Speaker 7: Did people know their last name were both Jack and Meg White? I mean, that's the only thing I could think of, was it? 00:25:49 Speaker 6: Yeah? 00:25:50 Speaker 4: Well but if she wasn't married and they were brother and sister, they would have those same last. 00:25:54 Speaker 3: Name, right, But I am I does no one think that's weird? 00:26:00 Speaker 4: You know, it's fifteen years say you were brother and sister, and then you were like, why didn't they just say they were married? 00:26:05 Speaker 2: I guess that when they got divorced, they didn't want that to be a thing. 00:26:09 Speaker 3: So they divorced. 00:26:11 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not sure what year they got divorced, but at some point they got divorced, and I think they just wanted to try to cover it up and just say they're brother and sister. 00:26:19 Speaker 4: But I thought they came out of the gate saying they were brother and sister. Did they not? 00:26:24 Speaker 6: Maybe? So, I don't know the time. 00:26:25 Speaker 7: They were divorced, very early in their like before they blew up, but then they kept so they were kind of stuck with it, Okay. 00:26:32 Speaker 3: So then they so then they kept going even after they had divorced. 00:26:35 Speaker 2: Well, imagine, like, you know, your entire career is attached to this person you just got divorced with. 00:26:40 Speaker 3: That's amazing. 00:26:41 Speaker 7: Though they got divorced in two thousand and I mean they have several years after that. 00:26:46 Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's amazing that they played all of those years together divorced and were a band traveling the world and seemed to like each other. Like, that's amazing that they could do that. 00:26:58 Speaker 6: You know, probably had separate tour buses, I. 00:27:01 Speaker 3: Would assume so, and been probably like meeting significant others along the way. 00:27:07 Speaker 6: Yeah. That had to be awkward, yeah. 00:27:10 Speaker 3: Wouldn't you. 00:27:10 Speaker 4: And the fact they were able to do that is kind of unbelievable if you think about it. 00:27:14 Speaker 10: Yep. 00:27:15 Speaker 7: But well I have a new detail that makes it a little weirder. Okay, he remarried and Meg was the maid of honor at the wedding. 00:27:26 Speaker 3: Sister. I don't know how people do that, I really don't. 00:27:29 Speaker 4: I mean, I give that, like I have really good relationships, Like I've had like four, you know, four or five serious relationship and I have really good relationships with all of those people. But that's another thing, though, to have them be the mate of honor in your wid you know, it's one thing to get. 00:27:47 Speaker 6: Along, have to work with them every day. 00:27:51 Speaker 3: That's amazing. 00:27:53 Speaker 4: Is that that really is amazing? They found nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. One person says, Matt, everything you said, wouldn't that be more successful if you didn't say it on radio and you said it to them privately at JMI and UK. 00:28:07 Speaker 3: Well, I think Ryan, you can agree. I've said it many many times, privately, many many many times, many times I've given them this advice. It's in one ear out the other profles. 00:28:18 Speaker 1: The UK administration when it comes to football has just, lack of a better word, fumbled it so many times. They took away some of their tailgating area, They made him give up some of their seats. They discontinued the women's clinic. They don't do the fraction of the fan day what it should be the spring game this past year. I mean, they should be building this relationship with the fan bases. Then they can continue to try to tear it apart. 00:28:39 Speaker 4: Think about what the basketball team did this year where they just threw together that fan thing on the day of the Big Blue Madness. Yeah yeah, and that will be better in the future. But the mere fact that they tried to do it through is an example of how the basketball team gets it more than the football team. 00:28:55 Speaker 7: Yeah, probe, Pope, Probe can't even talk. Pope has injected some life in some pr d all this. I know, we made a big deal out of the Family Day, but there's been so many fan events, you know, before that it had died. I both sports were pretty bad until Pope got here, and he's been very intentional of trying to bring everyone in. And that's why everyone likes him so much. And it is kind of forgiving when he's taking some bad losses and. 00:29:14 Speaker 4: Shout out to like women's basketball and volleyball. They actually have done that stuff very well. Remember volleyball watch party tonight at seven at KS Bar. Tomorrow we're in Columbia at what is it, Don Franklin. 00:29:25 Speaker 1: In Columbia, Columbia, yep is before I go to the. 00:29:29 Speaker 3: Phones, Shannon, this is one. 00:29:30 Speaker 4: This is a day. I really like you know what happened today that I care about? And I know the three of you probably don't, and almost no one listening. 00:29:39 Speaker 3: Does, but I do. 00:29:40 Speaker 6: What's up? 00:29:41 Speaker 4: The New York Times released their hundred best books of twenty twenty five. Oh yeah, wait, this becomes basically my the way, I picked my reading list for twenty twenty six. 00:29:53 Speaker 6: Big day for you. 00:29:54 Speaker 1: It is nerd Fest. 00:29:57 Speaker 4: You know I'm trying to do it. I tried to do a book a week for this year. We talked about that, yep, and I'm behind, but I'm scrambling to the finish. I have fourteen more and I'm about done with four because I'm reading four at once. 00:30:13 Speaker 3: So I have to read ten in December. Right. 00:30:17 Speaker 4: I don't know if I'm gonna be able to do it, but we're trying to sprint to the finish line. 00:30:20 Speaker 1: Well, on our trip, you can let one of us drive, will you can read in that. 00:30:24 Speaker 4: I keep reading the car I read before we go to bed, but ten in December, and then I will have accomplished my goal, which would make me very happy. What's next, Sebastian, Sebastian, go ahead, Sebastian. 00:30:38 Speaker 5: Yeah, I was gonna see if you guys could help me clear up a little personal mystery I've had here for about a decade. 00:30:42 Speaker 8: So. 00:30:43 Speaker 5: I was born in Sayette County. I'm right around Drew's age, and I lost my paper birth certificate a long time ago. But what I do have is somethime that looks like a credit card and it says birth certificate on it. It has all my birth certificate information. But when I took it to the DMV, they looked at it like it was an alien artifact. It would not then get the real ID with it. And I've never talked to anybody else that has one of these. I was serious, have you all ever seen that? 00:31:10 Speaker 3: I have not? So it's like a credit card birth certificate? 00:31:15 Speaker 5: Yeah, do you know where you got I figured it would be better than the paper version. 00:31:19 Speaker 3: Do you know where you got it? 00:31:22 Speaker 5: Fayette County? 00:31:23 Speaker 3: But like, well where in Fayette County? 00:31:26 Speaker 5: Well no, I mean it just does Fayett County on it. 00:31:28 Speaker 3: It was I understand, but like it had to have come from somewhere. 00:31:31 Speaker 4: I mean, did you get it at like uh oh no, no a gas Like where did you give it? 00:31:36 Speaker 3: Oh, your mother gave it to you? 00:31:37 Speaker 5: No, no, my mother had it where she gave it to me, said that they gave it to it. Well she has. She just said she got it at birth, so I don't know she had. 00:31:47 Speaker 4: It was an emvaculate conception, No, it was, it was it was it was like by the hospital. 00:31:52 Speaker 3: Is that the hospital gave it to her. 00:31:55 Speaker 5: Well she I can't really ask her that now, but like, so, yeah, it was with all my baby stuff. Okay, I'm assuming it probably was mailed to her because I don't think the hospital would have a three D printing machine or whatever. Say, you can make those cards? 00:32:08 Speaker 3: How old are you? Do you mind me asking how old are you? 00:32:12 Speaker 1: No? 00:32:12 Speaker 5: Yeah, forty one. 00:32:13 Speaker 3: Forty one? 00:32:13 Speaker 4: All right, So the easiest way to answer that, I've never heard of that. But the easiest way to answer that is to throw that to the general public and somebody will maybe have done it. So I'll ask if anybody else has a credit card size birth certificate? 00:32:25 Speaker 3: What is that? You just wanted to know what it is and how you may have gotten it, right? 00:32:30 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, because I would have figured that a DMZ in Louisville, even though it was from Lexington, would have seen it before. 00:32:36 Speaker 3: Yeah, well, we'll see. I appreciate the call. 00:32:38 Speaker 4: I mean maybe your mom had it made it like a gas station, Shannon, I don't know. 00:32:43 Speaker 3: I don't know. 00:32:43 Speaker 2: Idea that it just came out with the baby just fell out true. 00:32:46 Speaker 3: Have you ever heard of one of those credit card birth certificate? 00:32:50 Speaker 7: No, I'm trying to picture it when he says, does he mean it was the size of a credit card or it actually had like a magnetic thing he could swipe? Does does that have numbers? 00:32:59 Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean, I'm looking at it my birth certificate. It's kind of amazing. 00:33:01 Speaker 4: It still exists like it's a piece of paper. It's it's wrinkled, has the it has the date it was filed, has the state registrar at the time. But I didn't. I didn't get a credit card. I didn't get like a credit card with So maybe somebody. 00:33:17 Speaker 1: Will know that has to be like a momento or token that the hospital did, is like a gift or some sort of the. 00:33:23 Speaker 4: Marm you think, so that might be Yeah, that might be right. Who's next, Matt, Matt, go ahead, Matt. 00:33:30 Speaker 8: Hey, guys, me and my beautiful wife are on our way to do Yogan's Inn out since I can't meditate my guarden. But any hoot, I got a couple of things to say. Me and my wife have decided you would be the perfect next ad for the University of Kentucky. 00:33:50 Speaker 4: Oscar comes put up put a poll up about that and and said who would be the best for this? And uh, I came behind Donald Trump, which hurt my feeling. 00:34:00 Speaker 3: I have to say. 00:34:01 Speaker 4: I mean, whether you like Donald Trump or not, I think I would do better with UK Athletics. 00:34:06 Speaker 3: But nevertheless, go ahead, Matt Well. 00:34:09 Speaker 11: I mean, you know the fans, you know nil, you know the law, you got connections, You'll be perfect. But the second thing is I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everybody and make good decisions and shout out to Donovan. 00:34:23 Speaker 3: God bless God, bless you. Welker back all right, asking you shall receive He asked about the credit card or the credit card birth certificate. Apparently, Ryan, for fourteen years in the eighties and early nineties, you had the option when you were born in Kentucky to also, for three dollars more, get a plastic credit card size birth certificate you could carry in your wallet. It does not count as an official document, but it was issued by the state, and then they stopped doing it in the mid nineties. 00:35:58 Speaker 7: Well, there you go. 00:36:00 Speaker 1: There's there's the answer to that guy's question right there. 00:36:03 Speaker 7: My mom chommed in on that too. She remembers them offering it almost like a little souvenir gift shop. 00:36:07 Speaker 4: It was to get it with it for a few extra dollars a lot of people listening to have it. So there you go, Shannon, we learned something new every single day. 00:36:17 Speaker 6: Wonder why they stopped doing it. 00:36:20 Speaker 3: I don't know. 00:36:21 Speaker 6: I mean, you know, he would think you would continue to do that. 00:36:23 Speaker 3: Yeah. Maybe, uh, maybe because you couldn't use it. I don't know. I have a story I want to tell you, Drew. 00:36:29 Speaker 4: This will you may have already read this, Ryan, I think you're gonna like this story. 00:36:33 Speaker 1: Okay, I'm ready. 00:36:34 Speaker 4: Specifically, there's a book called Expensive Basketball, which is which I'm reading right now. It's by a guy named Shay Serrano. Drew really likes him. Uh, this is my first book I've read of his, Drew. I think you have like all of his books. 00:36:46 Speaker 7: I have every book he's ever written and wrote written, and I pre order all of them. 00:36:51 Speaker 3: I love him. 00:36:51 Speaker 7: I mean everything he puts out is good. 00:36:53 Speaker 3: So he's right. 00:36:54 Speaker 4: This one's about pro basketball, and it's it's like stories about pro basketball. And there's a story I wanted to quickly share about le Bron James that I think is funny. All right, So, uh, Lebron James is playing basketball, and I guess. 00:37:06 Speaker 3: I believe the player there. 00:37:07 Speaker 4: I believe they're playing against the Wizards, okay, and it's a big game and it's in the playoffs. And Gilbert Arenus, uh, he every time they would play against Cleveland, which is who he was on. Do you know, you know Damon Jones, he was part of this whole gambling scandal, right, yeah, Okay, So Damon Jones was his teammate and Gilbert Arenus. Damon Jones owed Gilbert Arenas money from a card game, okay, and it really made Gilbert Arenas mad by the way we should have seen the Damon Jones thing coming, Shannon, by the fact that he still owed money for people from card. 00:37:42 Speaker 3: Games when they played the NBA, that would really made him mad. He owed him like fifty thousand dollars. 00:37:46 Speaker 4: So every time the Wizards would play Cleveland, Gilbert Arenas would make it his job to get Damon Jones and light him up, okay, because it made him so mad, And he would play his best games against Cleveland because because Damon Jones was gardening, he hated. It got to the point they played each other in the playoffs, Ryan and they couldn't even play Damon Jones. 00:38:08 Speaker 3: Gilbert Areenus would crush him so much they had to keep him on the bitch. Wow. 00:38:13 Speaker 4: All right, now, Big Time Game Wizards are up one. Gilbert Reenus gets fouled with like three seconds left, with a chance to basically ice the game. He gets up to shoot, he gets nervous. He misses the first one. It's time for the second one. Lebron famously then goes up and starts talking in Gilbert's ear. 00:38:34 Speaker 3: You can see this online. 00:38:36 Speaker 4: He starts talking in Gilbert's ear and Gilbert looks at him like, what are you doing? And he keeps talking. And people have always wondered what did Lebron say to him? Because in the second free throw he misses by like two feet and people are like, Lebron must have rattled him Gilbert. Apparently, Lebron whispers today to Gilberterinus and says, if you miss this, you know, oh, he's gonna get you. 00:39:02 Speaker 3: That's all he says. All right, you know he's gonna get you. Well, what did he mean? 00:39:08 Speaker 4: Damon Jones, who had not played the entire game, They check him in for the final play and Gilbert Arena sees him and goes, that can't be what he means. They're not putting this game in he is not so petty They're gonna put Damon Jones in for this final play to score. 00:39:29 Speaker 3: He was like, there's no way they do that. What do they do? 00:39:32 Speaker 4: Lebron runs a play, kicks it out to Damon Jones, hits a shot at the buzzer, and the Wizards. Wow. And the story is in the book for how petty Lebron is. He was mad that he had embarrassed his friend about this fifty thousand dollars and he waited until the playoffs and then got it to where his friend hit the shot to knock him out. 00:39:52 Speaker 1: Wow. 00:39:53 Speaker 3: I kind of think that's an awesome story, Shannon, do you is? 00:39:56 Speaker 2: Yeah, that he waited for that moment because I'm sure they played more throughout the regular season in other games, but he waited for that moment in the playoffs. 00:40:02 Speaker 4: And even Gilbert Arena said apparently admitted in a podcast later on that it shook him and he still to this day is mad about the fact they checked him guy had not played the whole game, checked him in to hit the winning shot at the end. 00:40:16 Speaker 6: Nothing never, I mean, I'm sure that never happens. 00:40:18 Speaker 4: Yeah, the story, and Drew Arena says I saw him come in and I was like that, they're not gonna lay him. Shoot, they're not gonna do it. And then he did it and they ended up winning. 00:40:29 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:40:29 Speaker 7: I even saw the video of Arenas telling this and went viral when Damon Jones got arrested because in two thousand and six, Arena says that's our gambling group, me, Damon Jones and Lebron, which kind of raised some red flags about Lebron's participation in all of this, but it also goes to show you these there's these little games within the game, not necessarily like Terry Rozier stuff, but these guys have their trash talking inside stuff going on all the time. And Lebron, that was an ald timer. 00:40:52 Speaker 3: That's an Ald timer right there. I have to say, who's next. 00:40:56 Speaker 6: Let's go to Donna. 00:40:57 Speaker 3: Donna, go ahead, Donna. 00:41:01 Speaker 8: Oh. 00:41:02 Speaker 12: I wanted to answer the question about the birth certificate, and you already talked about that, so that was what I wanted to say. And they also did it in the late seventies because that's when. 00:41:12 Speaker 5: I got the one from my older son. 00:41:14 Speaker 12: So okay, anyway, wishing you all. I had a very happy Thanksgiving. 00:41:19 Speaker 4: Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, and happy Thanksgiving. Okay, I appreciate the called Cornbread Hemp.
