Speaker 3: Welcome back ever number two here in Windsor, Colorado, headed to vail tonight. They still haven't approved our house yet. I don't know.

00:01:07
Speaker 2: They may not be an issue.

00:01:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, well, hopefully we'll get it here soon. You are you worried they're not gonna let us end?

00:01:13
Speaker 4: Yes, but they got hotels.

00:01:16
Speaker 3: I mean we'll find something. I mean, we're not gonna know.

00:01:18
Speaker 2: Are we going to veil during skiing season?

00:01:20
Speaker 3: This is apparently skiing season, so this could, in theory be a busy kill.

00:01:24
Speaker 4: Any of you guys ski No, no, no.

00:01:27
Speaker 5: No, I'll say no, but I don't know.

00:01:30
Speaker 6: I never try.

00:01:32
Speaker 3: Are you good at it? No?

00:01:33
Speaker 4: But I can stay up on my feet.

00:01:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, I am not good at it at all. I tried once. It does not work for me. Let's talk about a couple of stories and then I want to tell the the Max story here for a second. First of all, this is a crazy story. This morning. The CEO of United Healthcare, which is one of the major insurance companies in America, was walking into the investor meeting today where they like give earnings and all that, and he was just shot down and killed on the street.

00:02:03
Speaker 5: Wow.

00:02:03
Speaker 3: And they say it was a targeted attack. It wasn't random violence. There was somebody that had been waiting there for him to walk in and killed him in New York City. You know, for all the thing about all New York's dangerous, it's usually you don't get just randomly shot in New York. So he he was clearly targeted. That that's weird, like right, like, I mean, it could be. My initial reaction is I'm just gonna guess. But when they find out who did it, I'm gonna guess just complete gas. It's somebody who had a family member get turned down for some kind of insurance. That's the only part because who else would hate an insurance seat.

00:02:43
Speaker 4: Sounds like a plot out of a movie, or it does.

00:02:46
Speaker 3: Like it sounds like a movie somebody's upset that their mother doesn't get covered for something.

00:02:50
Speaker 7: And then like, what do you think that could be one? I mean just nature of insurance. That guy probably had a lot of enemies. It could, like you said, it could be anyone that had a you know, that felt wrawed by his company. But just to be walalking early in the morning about to give a presentation.

00:03:05
Speaker 3: Times Square Hilt, which if you've ever been to, is a very well trafficked hotel.

00:03:10
Speaker 5: That's where our Hello card is right from.

00:03:12
Speaker 3: Yes, it's right for there's there two weeks Street from NBC and thirty Rock and all that. It's one of the business areas in town. It is scary, man, So that's a that's a crazy story. Yeah, a more happy story, at least for Shannon. They're bringing Chee Che's back.

00:03:29
Speaker 8: Yes, I have been talking about this for twenty plus years.

00:03:34
Speaker 4: Finally it's happening. According to CNN.

00:03:37
Speaker 3: Yes, and kept citing random websites.

00:03:40
Speaker 4: Yesterday I thought Business Insider.

00:03:45
Speaker 3: It was like restaurant's face dot com.

00:03:48
Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's exciting. It's coming back.

00:03:50
Speaker 8: And I'd like to think Max and the Aussies for keeping the good name of Chee Cheese alive because out Back bought chie Cheese.

00:03:56
Speaker 3: What's out back?

00:03:57
Speaker 4: How many years ago? They kept you know, the name going.

00:03:59
Speaker 3: Remember when I was in Luxembourg, I saw one, Yeah, and I actually eight there for you. I think Luxembourg may have been what kept it going.

00:04:06
Speaker 8: Che Cheese is really the greatest place on earth. I mean it was when it was open anyway, and it's about to be again. And we had better get a location in Kentucky because wherever that first one is, that's where we're going on a road trip.

00:04:16
Speaker 3: I was gonna say you read my mind. Wherever they opened the first one in America, I will take you on our summer road trip, assuming it's already opened by then. That's that'll be where we go.

00:04:26
Speaker 4: Even if it's in Pennsylvania. We're gonna run in.

00:04:28
Speaker 3: Pennsylvania, go back to Uh have you ever had chee Cheese?

00:04:32
Speaker 6: No? I don't know.

00:04:34
Speaker 4: Oh yes, I mean what's the order?

00:04:41
Speaker 6: But what's your order?

00:04:42
Speaker 3: Oh?

00:04:42
Speaker 4: Get anything stick? The heat is the chimmy chong is the front of ice cream.

00:04:46
Speaker 3: You have to go back a second bag. Stay answer your question. You know. Now there's a Mexican restaurant on every court, and they're all like Chee Cheese knockoffs, you know, they're all like lies for Aranza or Taco Face. I mean yeah, everywhere. But when we were kids, that wasn't true. I mean there there weren't Mexican restaurants in every town.

00:05:09
Speaker 8: Tumbleweed was American, really, so Chee Cheese was where we felt like we were going to Mexico.

00:05:17
Speaker 3: Now, of course, it wasn't anything like Mexico. It was like Sombreros and and it was it was ridiculous.

00:05:23
Speaker 7: Founded in Minnesota, yeah, but when we but at the time at the time, it felt like exotic food.

00:05:31
Speaker 3: When you were from a small town, to go to Chi Cheese was like leaving America. And so I think those of us that age have some nostalgia for.

00:05:38
Speaker 6: Well, that sounds pretty good to me.

00:05:40
Speaker 4: Look, i'm gonna have kangaroo with you today.

00:05:42
Speaker 6: You're gonna have.

00:05:45
Speaker 7: You know, kids growing up, they put like their school pictures and you can see how they grow. I had a wall of sombrero birthday pictures. We went to Chi Cheese every year and you could just watch me get old.

00:05:54
Speaker 3: It was likely somewhat racist sight, but they would basically when you would go there, if it was your birthday, they would give you a sombrero. They would come out with the what do you call thoseas maroccas and they would like and everybody would dance, and they guess they would.

00:06:14
Speaker 9: They would just give you sombrero, you taco, and your deportation letter.

00:06:19
Speaker 3: They were not quite as open on this stuff as but but for us it was it was a big deal.

00:06:26
Speaker 8: Yes, it was a big deal. So I'm gonna tell you something. If I don't get the endorsement for Chee Cheese.

00:06:34
Speaker 5: You should be at the ribbon cutting.

00:06:36
Speaker 2: I know Drew and I would go to Evansville. It's an hour drive.

00:06:38
Speaker 3: Where would you go? Lexington? The one next to where Lexington Green is. Yeah, there was one right there out in front, right, you guys know there's one out there in front of Lexting Green. Would go to Joseph Bath and Chee Cheese and it was like and then south Park Movie Theater was across the street, and you were like, this is this is living right here? Chee cheese for me, there's and Toys Arrest was across the street, right, So you had chee cheese everybody, everybody, you guys with these Lexi connections. No, you had chee cheese and Joseph Meth on one side. You had Toys, r Uss and uh In in south Park Movie Theater right there, and that was like, that was heaven. When you were from Middlesborough. That trip to Lexi Blockbuster in Lexington and take them back to Middlesborg, I mean that was you know. And then you go to the mall and there they had the video game store right there in Fame, I mean Nicholsville Road. At that point, that Liddle Juncture might as well have been you know, Christmas every day for someone like me.

00:07:34
Speaker 5: It was like Tom Square.

00:07:35
Speaker 2: I kind of think, was it where the Arby's is now? Is that where it was?

00:07:38
Speaker 3: It was right there. The cheches is right at the front, right next to Nicholsville Road. Okay, so it's where that gas station is right there. There's a shell there. That's where that's that's right there.

00:07:47
Speaker 7: If Chee Cheese can come back, I think we have hope for everything anything that's been gone.

00:07:51
Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm with you. Bring it, bring it all, Kodak, whatever you want. That's a good should What what what businesses like that would you like to see? I love circuits, service merchandise. I've talked about the state of the art. Yeah, you would pick the thing and then you would go back in the back and there'd be a guy that eat hands your box and there it was service merchandise.

00:08:14
Speaker 9: There was a restaurant called Lone Star in Australia where you used to be able to eat the peanuts throw it on the ground.

00:08:21
Speaker 3: We had that until recently, but then COVID they stopped letting you eat that. I love throwing the pianos on the ground. I felt like I get to trash this place and it's cool in Australia.

00:08:33
Speaker 9: I believe someone slipped on the shelves and got hurt. Therefore they all had to close down.

00:08:37
Speaker 6: Oh that's too bad.

00:08:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, Lone Star was great western, sizzling pot rosa with that, with that salad bar.

00:08:44
Speaker 5: It was more of a bonanza guy bananza.

00:08:48
Speaker 3: Fun. All right, So let's talk about yesterday. Uh, everywhere we go when we eat Drew films like a little review Shannon reviews the hotels. Uh, my thing is, I was like, I like gas stations. You know, I like to drive. I've been to a million gas stations. I always try to as I said to Max, fine one with panash. Yep, that's the word I used. I don't want to go to just a regular I like panash. Yesterday, we were in some town. I was like, you made, We're in a town it I didn't see a gas station that I felt gave me the vibes. So I was like, let's just drive the next town. We get to a side that says next fuel stop sixty miles away. We had eighty four miles worth of gas left. According to my thing, I said, let's go turns. That's exactly Ryan started panicky We're.

00:09:39
Speaker 2: In the middle of absolutely no way, and.

00:09:41
Speaker 3: You get scared. You're always worried something bad is gonna happen.

00:09:45
Speaker 2: We stand out there somewhere.

00:09:46
Speaker 3: Have we ever lost if we were running our gas before?

00:09:48
Speaker 5: Did you not believe the sun that said sixty miles.

00:09:51
Speaker 2: I didn't believe we were going to have eighty four miles of gas?

00:09:53
Speaker 3: We did, but we pull it. But we have one choice. And it's like the Briggsdale pumping shop. So if you big to Briggsdale, Colorado, you said it was just like a bump in the road. Right one gas station. We walk in, Uh, we do the review, Mario and I walk in. It was perfectly nice people. Shannon Is you're using the bathroom with the door open, which I didn't understand.

00:10:20
Speaker 5: Really excited about you.

00:10:21
Speaker 3: There was a woman standing on top of the drink cooler, which was unique on a ladder, on a ladder. There was cooking sloppy Joe's. Yes, I thought it was good. There were six to eight Trump flags out front.

00:10:34
Speaker 6: Yes.

00:10:35
Speaker 4: Uh.

00:10:35
Speaker 3: The guy with the guy working behind the counter had a shirt that said, like you show me your gun, I'll show you. Try this in a small town, so you know where you are I'm good in these places? Right? Well, it's not what I believe, but I've been around these people in my whole life. I'm good. So we do our thing for reasons I don't know. After we do this, Max and Mario decided to go in start causing Trump.

00:10:58
Speaker 5: We're already back in the car.

00:10:59
Speaker 3: We're back in the car, We're ready to leave.

00:11:01
Speaker 4: Like, what's taking these two songs?

00:11:02
Speaker 3: Let's take it? What are Max and Mario doing? I mean, what are these two doing? Are they trying to try this in a small town? Is that what they're trying to do?

00:11:10
Speaker 9: Max, I'll let you take it. Do I need my attorney president? Or am I just good to speak openly about it? You can speak well. First of all, me and Mario thought that you guys had just forgotten us, because you just drove off and we looked and the DJ waggone is halfway down the road. But I turned around at one point and Mario was inches from this guy's face and he was speaking in the calm tone that's almost too calm.

00:11:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, he got too close to Mario's face. I think that's fair to.

00:11:37
Speaker 9: Say like he'd done all this, he'd done this confrontation before, and he just wanted to lay the law down a little bit. And basically he said, look, there's been a lot of trouble in these brigs downtown, which you could imagine. I mean, he's thriving Metropolitan and he said, a lot of fifty people that live there. He said, there's been a lot of trouble, a lot of trouble in this town, and particularly they all target the gas station.

00:11:57
Speaker 6: And with you guys taking the video on this gas station, it's.

00:12:00
Speaker 9: Just gonna give him a blueprint, which Drew said, I mean, they could just walk in if they want.

00:12:06
Speaker 3: To say it their hair line down video.

00:12:09
Speaker 6: This isn't a bank.

00:12:10
Speaker 3: Basically, you're giving them the blueprint on how to rob us.

00:12:14
Speaker 9: And he said, I'm gonna give you one morning. If I see this video go out and someone comes in and rubs his place, and the next day or two, that ain't gonna be good for you.

00:12:24
Speaker 3: He said, there's gonna be trouble. There's gonna be trouble. And so here's what I'm gonna ask. Mario went ahead and put the video out. Please nobody robbed that place.

00:12:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, he was a solid.

00:12:38
Speaker 3: Just just just just help us out.

00:12:40
Speaker 5: All right, they seem like they might own guns.

00:12:43
Speaker 3: I just I feel like, Shannon, let's just all be good.

00:12:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, Ryan, why would you want to rob that?

00:12:50
Speaker 3: Don't? These are nice people. They're just selling sloppy joes. It's it's not that big a place. And I don't want Max specifically because really it would be his fault. I don't want him to go down.

00:13:03
Speaker 8: But he gave him the blueprint though. That's what I don't don't understand. I mean, isn't every cast station the same. You got the aisles, you got the chips, you got the beet jerky, you got the nerd gumming clusters.

00:13:13
Speaker 4: It's all the same.

00:13:14
Speaker 3: Yeah.

00:13:14
Speaker 6: The woman on the woman on the cool was the.

00:13:16
Speaker 8: Favorite part of the video. Matt goes, oh, you're up there. You go up there often it doesn't appost awkward thing to say, Mad.

00:13:22
Speaker 5: They thought we were oshow walking into check.

00:13:24
Speaker 3: You know. I thought I'm going to say something to this woman, and then I got up there, Shannon.

00:13:28
Speaker 4: And did nothing to say.

00:13:29
Speaker 3: I just said, do you go up there?

00:13:30
Speaker 6: Off?

00:13:31
Speaker 3: Which pick I wasn't trying to pick her up, but if I was, that wouldn't have been what you said. You go up on top of the drink.

00:13:39
Speaker 5: Yeah.

00:13:39
Speaker 4: She clearly did not want any part of the video either.

00:13:42
Speaker 6: Gloves being used.

00:13:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, they were selling gloves that were pretty dirty, which I thought was good for called distrusted.

00:13:48
Speaker 4: Yeah, the jeans.

00:13:49
Speaker 3: Your wife goes where were you? And you were like, I was working in the dirty but you weren't. You could just buy the dirty gloves and you would already have an excuse.

00:13:59
Speaker 7: This place was so and they're talking about the blueprint getting out, like they're like, Daniel Ocean's coming in.

00:14:03
Speaker 5: This is the Belagio of Colorado.

00:14:05
Speaker 7: We're gonna give away all the secrets of where the lasers and the security cameras are.

00:14:09
Speaker 3: It was a tiny place.

00:14:10
Speaker 2: And the guy behind us at the gas pump, he got all excited, right, he's one of you guys. He said, are you guys all bog Oh?

00:14:15
Speaker 7: He came up to me, he goes, hey, man, hey, he was driving this huge piece of machinery. He's like, hey, you guys bloggers. I was like, yes, we are.

00:14:21
Speaker 6: He thought it was the coolest.

00:14:22
Speaker 9: Yeah, but I think I may have found the perpetrator because there was one guy that was coming in that was just staying away from the camera. Like he wanted to get behind it, didn't want to get involved.

00:14:30
Speaker 5: So he might be the suspect.

00:14:31
Speaker 3: That might be the suspect. So do us a favor. Be nice. If you happen to be in Brigsdale, Colorado, which probably none of you will today, But if you are go in, say hi to him, buy some dirty.

00:14:40
Speaker 6: Gloves, get close to five dollars.

00:14:42
Speaker 3: Club Blue it's official partner of UK Athletics. Big announcement right today. What is it? They are releasing their new UK nil bourbon from Bespoken Spirits. 00:15:19
Speaker 3: You can find more. It's called Club Blue Bourbon and we have it starting today at KOs Bar.

00:15:26
Speaker 2: We were at the tasting. He'll pick out the flavor.

00:15:29
Speaker 5: We decided which would be the Club Blue Bourbon Waitite.

00:15:32
Speaker 3: So it's yours.

00:15:33
Speaker 7: Well, I mean there are other people there, but Ron and I were part of the panel, and so you.

00:15:37
Speaker 2: Picked the flavor a sample.

00:15:39
Speaker 3: So if it's not good, can people blame you? It's good, it's really good, all right, Well we have it at Kaspar, will be the the exclusive partner through Christmas and then but you can buy retail at at Liquor Bar. We will take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio working back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. All right, Ryan, thank you eighty seven. Nice crowd. We got eight folks here at our house. Yeah, it's still nothing from the people who own it, so hopefully we can get out of here unscathed. This has been a very deviant part of the trip here between.

00:16:16
Speaker 6: I'm sorried about you releasing our address.

00:16:18
Speaker 3: Well I did, I didn't just tweet it out. Some some restaurants people say they wish would come back.

00:16:23
Speaker 2: Max and Irma's, Oh yeah, Max and Irma's stuff, Darryl's, Daryl's was over by that cheet It was run across the street from the chie Cheese there in Lexington.

00:16:33
Speaker 3: Yes, uh, Morrison's cafeterias and also in and there. What wasn't that in there too? Was it? I think it was in Lexington Green as well, Morrison's Caffeterina.

00:16:42
Speaker 5: Well stand in Lexington Green, can TONI Romas come.

00:16:45
Speaker 7: Back Tony Romas where you used to work. That's when I started at KSR. I was carrying ribs to tables when I wasn't blogging.

00:16:51
Speaker 3: Seven seven two seven seven four five two five four If you have some of those, Shannon. Circuit City still exists. It's just an online only store.

00:16:58
Speaker 4: Really, I had no idea, no idea about that either.

00:17:01
Speaker 3: Did you know there was an online certain No?

00:17:03
Speaker 8: But now I kind of want to go just buy something random, just to support Circuit City so they don't go completely under.

00:17:09
Speaker 3: One person rights. Matt. You talking about Lexton Green back then gives me flashbacks to my childhood. That was the best when you were that age. What was the name of the Chinese place? The first Chinese place in Lexington.

00:17:20
Speaker 2: See mess Man. Before I got there, I don't remember the come.

00:17:24
Speaker 3: On, what is it? It was a chain? It was a chain. It was on Nicholsville Road. It was down there close to Southland, Oh somebody's gonna tell me this. Who NaNs? That's it. That's a chain too, right, Wunans. That was like the fart. That was like the chi cheese of Chinese restaurant. Whunans. That's exactly right. My mom always would want to go to Hunans.

00:17:46
Speaker 7: I didn't get to do the Hounans experience, but certainly a lot of chee cheese and daryls.

00:17:50
Speaker 3: I do kind of like just mentioning places we used to do when we when we were again. Nostalgia, the nostalgia part. Who's next, y'ad Daniel love Daniel, go ahead, Daniel, Daniel, all right, No, Daniel, who's next? Let's try John John, go ahead, John.

00:18:17
Speaker 10: Surprisingly, I'll find myself a Blue Devil fan today.

00:18:22
Speaker 3: Are you rooting for Duke against Auburn tonight?

00:18:26
Speaker 10: I think so. I think we need something to uh you know, to uh make our victory a little a little more solid.

00:18:34
Speaker 3: Well, we'll still play Auburn later in the year, so I mean, we're gonna play save with North Carolina Alabama. Well, actually we don't play North Carolina, so we kind of want Alabama to beat North Carolina with Auburn. If they beat Duke, we'll still have a chance to beat them as well.

00:18:49
Speaker 11: Yeah, true, but we don't.

00:18:56
Speaker 10: I'm not sure. Uh have y'all seen mal camar No play. He's coming to Littlesville place saying next later on, I think I'm a ride out there.

00:19:03
Speaker 12: He r.

00:19:05
Speaker 3: What do you think of Yeah? What do you appreciate the called? What do you think of Malachi Moreno? You've seen him, I knowing numbers I.

00:19:10
Speaker 2: Seen since he was in like the sixth grade. He has really improved. I mean he's now developing where he's obviously one of the best big men in the country. But he's a kid who's going to get better and better and better. He gets stronger and stronger and stronger. I think he's got a big ceiling.

00:19:22
Speaker 3: You you have followed both those Kentucky kids that committed to Kentucky Malchy Moreno and Jasper Johnson fault because they're basically your son. If you've been watching them since they were little kids, and I think you were skeptical, if it's fair to say on both of them being UK players early, but you've kind of turned on both of them as in a positive.

00:19:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, there's no doubt about both of them have become major to college basketball prospects because they work so hard at it. I mean, jasper when he was dominating as a sixth grader, but by the time he got to high school he just became a different player. Man, He just really so.

00:19:55
Speaker 3: You think they both are Kentucky level players.

00:19:58
Speaker 2: Yes, no doubt. Absolutely, Yeah, And I'm not want to be disrespectful. They're better than Travis and Trent.

00:20:05
Speaker 3: Is that right?

00:20:05
Speaker 6: Yeah?

00:20:06
Speaker 2: Why they just can have more skills?

00:20:08
Speaker 3: Do you There are some people who are saying, Drew, uh, maybe if Kerr is playing as poorly as he did, you give Travis Perry a run. Which what do you think about that? I don't know if.

00:20:20
Speaker 7: I mean Travis looked like even struggling, he was getting in in the maput minutes earlier. I think Kerr is better than he showed last night. Now, if we continue to see more of the same, you gotta do something different. But I'm hopeful last night was just as bad as we're gonna see from him, because he has been better in other games.

00:20:34
Speaker 6: Yeah, he's played.

00:20:35
Speaker 7: He's had great games at Arizona, He's had great games in West Virginia. He's played a lot of college basketball. Looked better than he did last night, but if it continues, they need to make a change.

00:20:43
Speaker 9: It's a good thing about having thirty odd games is you get to find out little things as you go along. He gets puts guys out there, like got twenty one minutes last night, and it's like, maybe we learn a little bit, maybe we don't give him as much in same thing with will Him, the same thing with everyone. I mean, Jackson Robinson last night much improved. So just little things along the way that he can see with the lineup. He's smart, we'll figure it out.

00:21:02
Speaker 3: Let me give you one thing about the portal that was switching to football for a second. The portal actually doesn't open until next week, just for the ninth yep, the ninth. So when you see people say they're entering the portal, they really haven't done anything yet. They lost Keyshan Silver yesterday. Kentucky Football One one service had him as a five star at one point. Yeah, he's played some. He definitely was one of the most talented returning pieces. But there were also a lot of talk, you know he did he didn't play a lot, And there was also a lot of talk that some of the locker room issues that were talked about he was kind of part of that. What were your thoughts about him leaving?

00:21:40
Speaker 2: I thought he was going to be the next big superstar on the defensive line for Kentucky. I really did, But he didn't play this year. He didn't play much, and when he did play, he was kind of non existent a lot of time. It seemed like.

00:21:49
Speaker 6: So, yeah, with.

00:21:50
Speaker 9: The commits, the amount of commits we had today, there's gonna be more guys in the next week. That put up a graphic saying with that band said, I'm in the portal, so you call those With that being said, I hate that's saying every and my kicking from Murray messaged me and sent me his graphics, and I said, can we get rid of the With that being said?

00:22:09
Speaker 3: I love Kentucky, I love BB and you all are great. This has been an amazing experience. But with that being said, I'm training you don't like them with that beating, I don't.

00:22:19
Speaker 9: It's like you're getting broken up with from your girlfriend and she told you you're great and you're awesome, and I enjoyed the time, but I'm gonna try on my other options.

00:22:26
Speaker 7: Those graphics always use the wrong part of the wrong version of the word apart. They always say thank you for letting me be a part of this. I say ninety nine times out of one hundred they used the wrong version of.

00:22:35
Speaker 3: That part and they put it together.

00:22:39
Speaker 7: Yes, and you don't like that. Look at any little pet peeve of these graphics they.

00:22:45
Speaker 3: Use the my man is grammar Nazi just.

00:22:49
Speaker 5: One on ones. Man, I look for this stuff they are.

00:22:53
Speaker 3: I mean you pass you pass it the third time.

00:22:56
Speaker 5: I'm basically a professor. Just it sticks out to me.

00:22:59
Speaker 4: I just wanted somebody to say I'm leaving and not even say anything good about word.

00:23:02
Speaker 8: Obviously it wasn't that great.

00:23:05
Speaker 4: We don't need.

00:23:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, it couldn't have been excellent, or you wouldn't you'd be here. They also lost our backup long staffer thoughts, the cares WHOA, all right, there you go. We'll take a break and be welcome back in this is Kentucky sports radio. People love writing in old chains, old restaurants, and chase.

00:23:37
Speaker 2: That was a staple, especially when I first moved here in the late nineties. Right there at the corner downtown.

00:23:42
Speaker 3: You hated to chase. You felt like it was a thing. Absolutely. I think my twenty first birthday party, the one my parents put on.

00:23:50
Speaker 7: I think was it after a big K s R meeting with all the interns and new hearts.

00:23:58
Speaker 3: Our first big CHO s A let's have a state of the program meeting was in. I really felt like I was like spending. I felt like I was opening the bank account when I took us all. Today's the one time.

00:24:11
Speaker 2: Yes, that second floor was where Bravo Patino's restaurant was right above day. That was a place to be me.

00:24:17
Speaker 3: It's jockey, that's a good one. I worked at Sam Goodies. There's that rap song. We get the CD from Sam Goodie. Now they don't even have any of those things.

00:24:26
Speaker 8: I think was f Ye Ye. Another one that's still open, is it? But they don't. They sell records and stuff now, so it's almost like it's a record store from the seventies, which a traditional thing.

00:24:36
Speaker 4: Yeah, PO folks.

00:24:39
Speaker 3: I don't remember that.

00:24:39
Speaker 2: I remember that either.

00:24:40
Speaker 3: What is PO Folks? A restaurant? Kenny Rogers Roasters? Are those still around? They had a whole Seinfeld episode.

00:24:50
Speaker 2: There used to be one on Richmond Road. I remember Cherry's Cherry Harry. There's still one opening. I think Paris Paris.

00:24:56
Speaker 3: I think it's like the last one there is. Yes, so there you go a lot.

00:25:01
Speaker 2: Of good Uh did you have a Jerry's in Middlesborough?

00:25:03
Speaker 5: Oh?

00:25:03
Speaker 3: Yes, we we added Jerry's a lot. Our friend Dewey like Jerry, so we would go to Jerry's.

00:25:09
Speaker 6: Dewey seems like he's a big Jerry.

00:25:11
Speaker 3: You would have loved Dewey. Dewey was. Dewey was Maga before it was cool. Dewey was how I knew Rush Limbaugh existed. Dewey would come in ranting about Bill Clinton and Jennifer Flowers in nineteen ninety two before that was the thing. So I rest in peace to Dewey. Who's up next? Daniel is up there? Daniel?

00:25:30
Speaker 11: Go ahead, Daniel, Yes, good afternoon or good morning. Actually I just add one restaurant to your list, and that's gd Ritzy's. I don't know if you remember that or not. Great Hamburgers.

00:25:42
Speaker 5: Great Burgers think it's still in Evansville.

00:25:45
Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't. I don't know that one.

00:25:46
Speaker 7: That was an Evansville thing, like a little diner with the shoe string Flexington.

00:25:51
Speaker 11: They yeah, yeah, it was on Harrisburg Road Broadway area.

00:25:57
Speaker 10: Uh.

00:25:57
Speaker 11: The question I have for you is what kind of vehicle are you guys driving on this road trip?

00:26:02
Speaker 3: And we have a Jeep Wagoneer. We have a Jeep Wagoneer and it's big, it's I think it's been a successful car knock on Wood so far. Don't you agree?

00:26:10
Speaker 7: That was my biggest concern of the whole trip, And as soon as we got to your house and saw the car, it was a relief.

00:26:14
Speaker 5: Everything fits.

00:26:15
Speaker 3: The Jeep Wagoneer has been has been very good so far. Knock on Wood. We still got a long way to go. DJ Wagoneer.

00:26:24
Speaker 10: Very good.

00:26:24
Speaker 3: Thank you, appreciate, appreciate the call. Do you feel good or bad about the game Saturday against Gonzaga.

00:26:31
Speaker 2: I feel no different after they lost last night, No different at all. I still feel this team is really really good. It was an offshooting night. We didn't handle the physicality very well, but in the big stage of Gonzaga, I think they'll probably step up and play well.

00:26:42
Speaker 8: I don't feel great about it, that's just being honest with you. I mean, the same team that beat Baylor by forty points.

00:26:49
Speaker 3: They did, but they lost to West Virginia and we're down almost the whole game.

00:26:53
Speaker 4: That's right.

00:26:53
Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean they're not unbeatable. But again, you're going on the road, it's all the way across country. It's gonna be a tough atmosphere for him.

00:26:59
Speaker 9: Looking forward to the adjustments that my polk makes and just see what he brings to the game. That's a little bit different from the Clemson game. Maybe a lot more three's, maybe a little bit more movement, less dribbling.

00:27:08
Speaker 7: I'm hoping because they haven't been shooting well, you know, there's gonna be a night where they just shoot somebody out of the gym. I'm hoping it hits while we're in side.

00:27:14
Speaker 3: That's gonna happen sometimes.

00:27:16
Speaker 7: But really, you can only grade them off your own kind of expectations. And I thought they'd go one and two against Duke Clemson Gonzaga one. Yeah, they've already surprised us with Duke. So even though I don't want to go zero and two this week at least where I thought, they still kind of house money.

00:27:30
Speaker 3: I mean, we all thought we were gonna lose the Duke, so we can't lose track of the fact that we beat it.

00:27:33
Speaker 5: True.

00:27:34
Speaker 3: I mean, I think that is that is an important thing to remember.

00:27:37
Speaker 2: And we'd said, really, we would all be happy they just split games this week. I think, you know, go one on one this week.

00:27:43
Speaker 3: Were you surprised to see that the Playoff Committee ranked Alabama ahead of Miami three loss SEC team over a two loss ACC team. ACC people are livid about it. If Clemson beats or excuse me, if SMU beats Clemson, Bama's into playoffs. And I would argue, of Clemson beats SCMU, they might still be in the playoff. Do you think Bama should sneak in again for the second straight year?

00:28:11
Speaker 5: I think so.

00:28:12
Speaker 7: I mean, Miami's been good, but man, in that conference, you just don't get many good wins. It's like they play a different sport. And I think we're gonna see what we saw last year, where we get a bunch of winding from the ACC and everybody else just moves on without them.

00:28:23
Speaker 9: Unfortunately we didn't see it an OL game against Louisville, but there's a massive difference between SAC and ICAC, particularly in the top five or six teams. Alabama deserves to be in that now. Whether they're a really really good team this year, who knows, but they just have to be in the top.

00:28:37
Speaker 3: Twelve and the projected playoff, Shannon, they have Tennessee, Ohio State first round in Columbus. Wow, that would be a heck of a game.

00:28:47
Speaker 4: It's a great way to kick off the first year of a twelve team playoff.

00:28:50
Speaker 3: That would be awesome. And they have Alabama at Notre Dame. That would also be a very cool game.

00:28:55
Speaker 4: Because of the names.

00:28:56
Speaker 8: But you know, Alabama gotta beat by and Andy got smoked by Oklahoma they did. I know they're Alabama, I know they're the brand of college football, but.

00:29:06
Speaker 3: But who's Miamis again? Miami's best win is their win to start the season against Florida. Otherwise they really don't have any wins and they lost to Georgia Tech played a bunch.

00:29:19
Speaker 9: Of close games like bag Cow by three.

00:29:21
Speaker 8: So we thought the twelve team playoff would erase controversy, but it's still there because there's always going to be a thirteen team.

00:29:28
Speaker 3: It doesn't thought it was going to erase controversy. We're just ridiculous. I mean, there are sixty eight teams in the basketball tournament and there's controversy over that too, Like there's gonna be always controversy. Here's what I love about the playoffs. This is why the playoff. Anyone you hear complaining about it is just an old fuddy duddy.

00:29:46
Speaker 4: It made me he called them o and use the word fuddy duddy.

00:29:50
Speaker 3: Funny duddy is a very young word.

00:29:54
Speaker 4: You whippersnappers, fuddy duddies.

00:29:55
Speaker 3: I'm just telling you, they're a funny duddy, and I believe that's a very current word. Here's why they're an old fuddy duddy ry. I cared more about games this year that I would have never cared out about before because of this. Saturday night before we left Sunday, I was watching Iowa State Kansas State following the game that I can guarantee you I would not have cared about one bit before this. SMU is gonna play Clempson in the ACC title, and I'm gonna try to watch it. It's during the Kentucky games. I'll have it in the background. But I would never care if SMU was playing Clempson normally. I think it has made it to wear more of college football matters than it used to.

00:30:42
Speaker 2: And I think those first round playoff games on somebody's home field, they're gonna be awesome. They're gonna be awesome.

00:30:47
Speaker 3: They're gonna be awesome.

00:30:48
Speaker 2: Whereas there used to be a Bowl game we probably didn't really pay attention to. Now this means something that's a playoff game on their home field. We're all gonna watch it. It makes it so much better. I mean, yeah, bowl games players opting out, you know, the team doesn't.

00:31:00
Speaker 3: Well, they're gonna get down. I mean the teams that don't not in the playoff though they're wont in the playoff in a lot of those a lot of those other Bowl games will probably get hurt. But honestly they were headed down that path anyway. But Max, I mean you're gonna get like, think about what the playoff would have been. Let's talk about what the playoff would have been in the old format, right, who would be in? Oregon would be in for sure, probably the winner of Texas Georgia would be in. But then you'd have probably had what Notre Dame and Penn State. Does that make you feel good? Notre Dame Penn State? Like this is so much better, Max, it's so much more entertained.

00:31:38
Speaker 6: It's so much better.

00:31:38
Speaker 9: And like you said, I mean, the winning your conference championship Now there's so much more to that, Like, yeah, obviously people are gonna be happy, but you know, winning the Big Twelve this year there was six teams on nine teams I think in the final game on the final round of the year that were that could make that championship game, which is insane and it makes it so much more fun. Like everyone is still live now for that Big twelve spot. Like I don't know, I just think it's just so much better just to say that competition and to watch a Big twelve championship game and it made something.

00:32:08
Speaker 3: I totally agree. Hey, we got another person here, let's go. I love it. Love the playoff and that first round which will be when Kentucky plays Ohio State and basketball that weekend that's gonna be. You can have a seat right there if you want. That's gonna be an awesome weekend of college of college football.

00:32:26
Speaker 7: And I love there's a little bit more of a Cinderella aspect. Now if you're in the twelve, you're good, but like a boys, you're in SMU. I mean the off chance they run through it and win it all. You never really had that opportunity before.

00:32:37
Speaker 3: Totally agree. UK Federal Credit Union. Not since nineteen thirty seven have you had a time to not be able to go there. That's a double negative, but that's okay. It's court dot com Physical Therapy seventy locations near you ko rt dot com. I have a message here that I want to say, Drew, Okay, this is too on Twitter, Tyler and Ben because we keep getting we keep getting this. We talked about this the other day. When people get angry at the coach, it becomes they it's like they are incapable of channeling that anger at the coach. They have to channel it to other people too, which includes us. So they're very mad that we You and I and others said that maybe Keyshawn Silver, while a very talented player, not the worst loss. Nick Rousse believes it's a huge loss. By the way, perfectly reasonable for Nick to say that, you know what that's called in America.

00:34:25
Speaker 4: An opinion, different opinions, and.

00:34:27
Speaker 3: You know what different opinions are allowed. Did you know that?

00:34:31
Speaker 4: Yes?

00:34:31
Speaker 3: So when Nick put out that Vince might go to Louisville, you all were there when he called and told me that, and I then the next day found out he wasn't. But I'm not gonna tell Nick not to report that Nick had Louisville sources. You all were there when we called. What did I say to him? If you believe in it? Yeah, I know you're not making it up, go with it. Different opinion? Right when Vince ended up staining a lot of people online go KSR started the room, KSR end of the room. Actually we had different what opinion? Opinions? All right? So Nick Rouse believes Kishon Silver is a big loss. I think it's a loss, but I also think UK's not crying about it because there were some off the field issues there. So these people are now saying Matt and Drew continue to spin for Vince and their boys Stoops, this is a massive loss. Nick Rousse said it. They are all in the spin zone. Have we taken a call from Vince or Stoops about Kishon Silver.

00:35:36
Speaker 7: No, I didn't comment on Kishon Silver. By the way, Well you are wrong. I said nothing about Kishon So I looked up the numbers.

00:35:43
Speaker 3: Kishon Silver had twenty three tackles this year, which was fourteenth on the team in tackles. He had the fifth most tackles on the defensive line. Be a dude, you'd like to have return if things were great, But no, I do not believe Max. I think it's it's the big lost they've had, But I don't think it's like a breaking loss.

00:36:03
Speaker 9: It is, but you're gonna have some tourno. I mean, we just went four and eight. There was gonna be some people late, whether we wanted them to or not, and we probably mostly want them to be honest. I mean, you can't just keep the same guys and go, oh, well, we're going be fine, Like there's gonna be some tone of.

00:36:17
Speaker 3: That is true. I remember one year in basketball, Northwestern was like nine and twenty two, and I remember watching their first game. They go, they got a lot of people back, and my friend the Turkey Hunter goes, do they want them back? They went nine in twenty two last year.

00:36:33
Speaker 7: Honestly, I haven't written down the names, but there's only a few people that I would be upsetif lee from this team. I'm ready for the coach's powerwash the locker room and clean it up.

00:36:42
Speaker 3: Who would be a couple that you would be working well?

00:36:44
Speaker 7: Will Cox, I would want back hard to Gilmore, Willie Rodriguez, some of the young guys on defense. There's some young names, amn't s much. There's a guy that call them sack them souls. He got in late some games. If the twins from Corbin, I still hope they'd turn into something. Mostly a lot of the young people cut her, of course, and I'm naming a lot of young people.

00:37:03
Speaker 5: Dane, I'll say Dane, but really.

00:37:06
Speaker 7: There's not many more that I care if they go, because if the culture has been that bad, you're gonna have to lose a lot of people.

00:37:12
Speaker 3: Some reports out there about Dane. Do you wanna say you think, uh, maybe considering coming back more than he was a week ago? Uh? Do you wanna Do you want to comment on that or do you want to pull events? No comment? I don't want to put you in the tough spot.

00:37:28
Speaker 13: Yes pressing man, Yeah, don't want What are your chicken chicken?

00:37:39
Speaker 3: Yes? Yes, it's more likely than a week ago.

00:37:44
Speaker 2: Yes, okay, that's a scoop though, right, I'm just messing with you. I'm not saying.

00:37:53
Speaker 3: It chicken chicken chicken?

00:37:58
Speaker 4: Do you do you know something that you say?

00:38:00
Speaker 2: I and like he did when he committed, I try to stay out of it, man, that's their family decision.

00:38:05
Speaker 4: But for somebody who tries to stay out of it. You seem to know a whole lot.

00:38:09
Speaker 2: Yes, God, Binky up.

00:38:17
Speaker 3: Next, Binky? How are you Binkie?

00:38:21
Speaker 12: Hey, Matt, Remember I called yesterday and said something about, you know, the worst dinner would be with you.

00:38:28
Speaker 3: You do know that I mean at the time, but if you say so, I believe you.

00:38:34
Speaker 11: Yeah.

00:38:35
Speaker 12: Well, if you go back and listen to it, I was telling you that I was just kidding. Anyway, I got a couple of things. First off, let me ask you guys, and I'm fixing the hang up after this and listen to see what y'all say. What teams, what SEC teams? Do you think we will take hits from this year? In basketball? Tennessee and you, guys.

00:38:54
Speaker 3: Tennessee is a bad matchup for us this year. Tennessee's the one that I think we play him twice. If you told me tomorrow we'd win one of the two, I'd sign up for that immediately because I think they're a tough matchup for us.

00:39:06
Speaker 12: What about Auburn.

00:39:09
Speaker 3: Auburn, Well, I mean Auburn's tough because they're good, But I don't think from a matchup perspective, it's particularly it's any harder than anything else. They're just really good. But I mean, obviously Alburt's gonna be hard. They're maybe the best team in the country. But if you're just talking about what's the team that matches up with us in a tough way, I would worry the most about Tennessee.

00:39:28
Speaker 12: Any other any other sec I think a co team I.

00:39:32
Speaker 3: Be honest with you, I think a cow team will when we play against our Alabama will either win by fifteen or they'll beat us. I mean because like, think about how he did think about the games over the years he's had with Nat Oates, Right, yeah, he either won by a ton, they'd lose a close game. I think that'll be one of those.

00:39:56
Speaker 12: Hey, one other thing I wanted to ask, who is the music officionado here Shannon is doing it knows music?

00:40:03
Speaker 3: The most?

00:40:05
Speaker 12: Is does he know music or does he sing music? Or both? Because I'd like to challenge.

00:40:12
Speaker 3: He doesn't think you know music?

00:40:14
Speaker 4: I don't care what he thinks.

00:40:16
Speaker 12: No, no, no, no no. I'm asking if you're a singer, do you do karaoke?

00:40:21
Speaker 8: I mean occasionally, yeah, do you do you want to go karaoke?

00:40:25
Speaker 4: Bro?

00:40:25
Speaker 2: No?

00:40:26
Speaker 12: No, no. Karaoke for people who don't know how to play the guitar.

00:40:32
Speaker 3: He comes and apologizes about yesterday and now he's going after you.

00:40:36
Speaker 4: Expect an apology tomorrow, Binkie, all right.

00:40:38
Speaker 3: Appreciate the calling. No, Shannon's a good singer. Can you play You can play guitar.

00:40:42
Speaker 4: A little bit, A little bit, Yeah, I'm not a great guitar player.

00:40:44
Speaker 3: Guy who brought a guitar here today?

00:40:45
Speaker 2: Are you that court from Memorial Colosseum?

00:40:50
Speaker 3: He has a guitar made out of a court from Memorial Colosseum. So that's a very.

00:40:54
Speaker 4: Cool, uh cool bunch of autographs on there?

00:40:57
Speaker 9: Can I back up Binky at one point about going in with you, I just wouldn't want to do it.

00:41:02
Speaker 5: I agree with him.

00:41:02
Speaker 9: You'd be down low on the list because you'd want to go to Skyline chilling.

00:41:06
Speaker 8: Skyline's great, don't put on Skyline.

00:41:11
Speaker 3: Skyline is very good. Let's be let's be honest, it's very good.

00:41:14
Speaker 5: I'm ready for some Australian meat paws here a.

00:41:16
Speaker 3: Little yeah, yes, we will have it. So all right, we'll go into the rest of the week. Signing day. Looks like Kentucky's gonna keep their whole class except the ones they've except the couple guys that decommitted the other day, I think that's a little bit of a win because when I saw those first two go I was worried or seven or eight of them going to run out of here. They were able to keep. If we hadn't lost the running back, I think it would be very successful. The running back does hurt.

00:41:40
Speaker 5: Yeah, they didn't scatter.

00:41:41
Speaker 4: Uh.

00:41:42
Speaker 7: That's good for on down the road, but they have immediate problems they need to address, so they still need to get a lot of additions. If Mark Stoop says, any chance it's.

00:41:49
Speaker 3: Gonna end up being like the twenty seventh, twenty eighth rank class, probably eleventh or twelfth in.

00:41:53
Speaker 9: The SEC MAX not too bad, I mean yeah, expecting a mass exodus honestly with how we went this season, and to retain most of them pretty good. Again, We're gonna have a lot of graphics put out this week of ausking guys to move on, and then hopefully we hit the pool really really good.

00:42:07
Speaker 3: You call those with that SAIDs I think when you see a with that said, you need to tag Max Duffy and say, with that said, because I don't think.

00:42:15
Speaker 6: It's just gonna be I'll put a tweet outside. With that being said, I'm leaving Twitter.

00:42:19
