That's tied for the longest streak in NFL history, and that says a lot about the team. It's something about you know, when you have almost the entire sports world universally hating you because of the move you just made, but you and your family can be like, yeah, but the bank account is sweet. You have to have incredibly tough skin to not let any of that affect you whatsoever, especially after you've had this sort of roller coaster of a career and you just built up all of this good will two weeks ago. He was It was the most unbelievable redemption story. And then in the course of about seven days, the entire sports world turned on him. You know that I feel like that's a bad week.

Speaker 12: Yeah, Paul, I think what bothers people as well is Lane Kiffin did not get a huge pay raise he didn't like. It's not like he went from James Madison to some school and went from seven to fifty to six million dollars a year and it's life changing. He would have gotten a tick less of pay at Ole Miss. Maybe it may have been even compared to LSU. It's the surroundings around him that the so most people are probably upset.

But it's not like they should regret their decision now when it was it was them hiring him that made this happen, triggered, you know what I mean. So it's not like no one's talking about like, how could you hire such an evil person? That's that's not the storyline at all. No, they got a great coach, Yeah they do.

But he's done a great job. He's turned down a lot of other offers. He may be comfortable in that environment there. You go to Penn State, You're right, you win eight games, that's not good enough. Now you're going to the Outback Bowl, that's not good enough. You gotta have you got to be on the doorstep. You got to be in the playoffs. You've got to be in the conversation with Ohio State, now Indiana, Michigan.

But the reason I'm calling in regarding field goals, I work in the medical laser sector, and why don't we have laser shooting out the top of the field goals so when they you know, inevitably there's a or two field goals that go over the top of those posts, why don't we have laser shooting up so we can measure it so whether they're in or out. They have talked about lasers on top of the goal post, but we thought if you raised the crossbar up three feet, what would that do to field goals, especially field goals of over sixty yards. I'm fine with it. If you look. I think I might have the numbers here on close games so far this season, and I think we've had more close games so far. One hundred and two games decided by eight points or less through week thirteen, So that's tied for eleventh most all time at this point of a season. But here's another number. Through week thirteen, there have been fifty three games decided by three points or less. That's the third most all time at this point of a season. And I think that's where you have that valuable weapon, your placekicker. I mean, we saw the Giants play kicker couldn't even kick it. He took a divot. And then you get Brandon Aubrey who's kicking sixty yard field goals on a regular basis. It's a weapon you have. I don't want to say, oh, it's too easy, because I don't think it's too easy. And you know, they use these k balls so you're able to use the ball. You're not a new football out there, which they should be able to. You shouldn't be able to have your own ball out there. Their kicker gets his own ball. That's why I couldn't care less about how inflated or deflated a football is. With my quarterback, what do you want because you're going to handle the ball more than anybody, and then when he comes on the field, he can have that football how he wants it. I have no problem with that. Yeah, Paul, we're talking about the poll question.

So let's say Brandon Aubrey gets seven million. You're paying him backup quarterback money. You're paying him fifth defensive lineman. Money or you know, average cornerback money to be the best at what he does. That's a steal seven million.

I mean they did this to Wilt Chamberlain. They outlawed the dunk because Wilt made it too easy, and they're like, no, you can't dunk. I mean, imagine that when lu Al Sindor went to UCLA, he wasn't I think they took out the dunk. He wasn't allowed to dunk. But Wilt Chamberlain they're like, hey, wait a minute, that's too easy here. They talked about raising the basket many many years ago, many decades ago. They wanted to raise it to eleven feet because people were it was too easy to dunk it. I mean that it sounds crazy, but they talked about widening the court. They talked about raising the hoop to eleven feet or twelve feet. I'm like, crazy, if somebody's good at what they do, it doesn't mean that you know, you should punish them. Find somebody who can do what Brandon Aubrey can do. We'll take a break. I guess it really hinges on Its dependent on how well the Steelers play these final five weeks of the season. But you're not going to hear anything from Mike Tomlin speculating on anything other than well, I'm here getting the job done. I think it's going to be We're onto the next opponent, much like Bill Belichick. But you know, he might get to the point where you have that conversation with seasons over depending on what if they win a couple of games in the postseason? Not likely, but what if they do? Do people then have a different opinion because Aaron Rodgers is not going to be there. Maybe next year. I thought they might go out this year. This would be the last year of Tomlin, last year of Aaron Rodgers. But I mean more likely to have Tomlin back than Aaron Rodgers, I'm guessing. But you know that doesn't set you up for the long haul. Your future is now. You still have your quarterback or that quarterback that you can build on, and that would be my biggest question mark with Mike Tomlin staying there and trying to have anything more than just sustainable success.
